Behold, the fabulous sculpture called “Jubilee!” installed next to the Home Suites 2 by Hilton (a hotel, if you’re wondering) at the Sea Shells Collections Shopping Center in Gulf Breeze Florida . It is supposed to represent three abstract fish in a vertical food chain — get it? Note the beauty of the concrete base! And convenient nearby, never-ever-been-used bike rack. Makes me want to rush around the corner to Panera and choke down a chipotle chicken avocado melt. The creators of this humdinger, Renaissance Fabrications, say, “the word ‘jubilee’ encompasses several meanings, including the following: celebration, hope, justice and a commitment to serve God with joy and in peace with our brothers and sisters.“It seemed like a timely choice,” I’ll say, a deep thought, fer sure. Especially with all those home mortgages and rents indefinitely deferred, and the national debt at $27-trillion. America, bend over and wait for that jubilee!
Thanks to James Doyle for the nomination. A healthy and sane 2021 to all!

The lamp posts in the background fit in with the overall motif as well.
yes and the color of the metal and the color of the sky go well together.
I HAVE SEEN WORSE ‘ART’.
Nice photo but the caption is the best! Jubillee rhymes with Gold bee.
I really don’t know how they missed the fishing boat. Maybe it was a question of budget and not imagination. It does have potential.
With some simple improvements, this may not wind up being profoundly piscatorial, but it could hook the public into a much more pleasing visual experience.
First of all, clean up the area.
The concrete base might be better used with the feet of the one who proposed it firmly implanted and then….well, you get the idea. Many, many ideas for the base come to mind, e.g., a material with a watery looking, shimmering surface, or something beach like with sea shells imbedded, etc.
The triangular base, looking like angle irons, must be changed to keep the same curvilinear flow as the fish. The horrible rectangle above the concrete has to go, replaced by something inserted into the base and still providing structural support.
The application of something appearing to be silvery scales onto the structure would not be a fishy idea…oh well, then again I guess it would be, a good, fishy idea. Sunlight glinting off the scales and reflecting in the base would be great, like the ocean dappled with sunbeams.
With these improvements, this could be quite a catch.
Does it help if as a sculptor he used sculptor caliper shape as part of inspiration?
Never mind. Nice try.
If I am reading the fish symbolism right, it looks like a reference to god eat god.
Parked next to a mall, and the fast food equivalent of short term accommodation, you can almost smell the fierce competition, in the air.
Very clever.
