There’s a lot to unpack in the national psychodrama that played out in the senate judiciary committee yesterday with Ford v. Kavanaugh. Dr. Ford laid out what The New York Times is calling the “appalling trauma” of her alleged treatment at the hands of Brett Kavanaugh 36 years ago. And Mr. Kavanaugh denied it in tears of rage.
Dr. Ford scored points for showing up and playing her assigned role. She didn’t add any validating evidence to her story, but she appeared sincere. Judge Kavanaugh seemed to express a weepy astonishment that the charge was ever laid on him, but unlike other questionably-charged men in the grim history of the #Metoo campaign he strayed from his assigned role of the groveling apologist offering his neck to the executioner, an unforgivable effrontery to his accusers.
The committee majority’s choice to sub out the questioning to “sex crime prosecutor” Rachel Mitchell was a pitiful bust, shining a dim forensic light on the matter where hot halogen fog lamps might have cut through the emotional murk. But in today’s social climate of sexual hysteria, the “old white men” on the dais dared not engage with the fragile-looking Dr. Ford, lest her head blow up in the witness chair and splatter them with the guilt-of-the-ages. But Ms. Mitchell hardly illuminated Dr. Ford’s disposition as a teenager — like, what seemed to be her 15-year-old’s rush into an adult world of drinking and consort with older boys — or some big holes in her coming-forward decades later.
For instance, a detail in the original tale, the “locked door.” It’s a big deal when the two boys shoved her into the upstairs room, but she escaped the room easily when, as alleged, Mark Judge jumped on the bed bumping Mr. Kavanaugh off of her. It certainly sounds melodramatic to say “they locked the door,” but it didn’t really mean anything in the event.
Ms. Mitchell also never got to the question of Dr. Ford’s whereabouts in the late summer, when the judiciary committee was led to believe by her handlers that she was in California, though she was actually near Washington DC at her parent’s beach house in Delaware, and Mr. Grassley, the committee chair, could have easily dispatched investigators to meet with her there. Instead, the Democrats on the committee put out a cockamamie story about her fear of flying all the way from California —yet Ms. Mitchell established that Mrs. Ford routinely flew long distances, to Bali, for instance, on her surfing trips around the world.
Overall, it was impossible to believe that Dr. Ford had not experienced something with somebody — or else why submit to such a grotesque public spectacle — but the matter remains utterly unproved and probably unprovable. Please forgive me for saying I’m also not persuaded that the incident as described by Dr. Ford was such an “appalling trauma” as alleged. If the “party” actually happened, then one would have to assume that 15-year-old Chrissie Blasey, as she was known then, went there of her own volition looking for some kind of fun and excitement. She found more than she bargained for when a boy sprawled on top of her and tried to grope her breasts, grinding his hips against hers, working to un-clothe her, with his pal watching and guffawing on the sidelines — not exactly a suave approach, but a life-changing trauma? Sorry, it sounds conveniently hyperbolic to me. I suspect there is much more psychodrama in the life of Christine Blasey Ford than we know of at this time. She wasn’t raped and her story stops short of alleging an attempt at rape, whoever was on top of her, though it is apparently now established in the public mind (and the mainstream media) that it was a rape attempt. But according to #Metoo logic, every unhappy sexual incident is an “appalling trauma” that must be avenged by destroying careers and reputations.
The issues in the bigger picture concern a Democratic Party driven by immense bad faith to any means that justify the defeat of this Supreme Court nominee for reasons that everyone over nine-years-old understands: the fear that a majority conservative court will overturn Rowe v. Wade — despite Judge Kavanaugh’s statement many times that it is “settled law.” What one senses beyond that, though, is the malign spirit of the party’s last candidate for president in the 2016 election and a desperate crusade to continue litigating that outcome until the magic moment when a “blue tide” of midterm election victories seals the ultimate victory over the detested alien in the White House.

Jim,
You have turned into such a disappointment.
JDH
JDH– And why is that? Because I don’t automatically “believe” allegations in a politically-charged battle? You can find plenty of echo-chamber satisfaction in The New York Times op-ed pages, if that’s what you’re looking fo.. — JHK
Jim,
You and your new pals Grassley, Graham, and Trump seem to have a bit of a problem with the truth. I now that is not plainly apparent to all, but I’m surprised that you failed to mention it.
The good judge was asked 9 times why he wouldn’t advocate for an FBI investigation (they are the Federal Bureau of INVESTIGATION, after all). He “skirted” the issue each time. He was also caught in several, let’s call them, small lies.
I wonder why the committee can’t wait 10-14 days? Why the rush? I wonder. You don’t think that made they fear the results, do you? It was certainly no problem for the R’s to wait over a year to deny Merritt Garland a hearing. He never even got to speak with one R senator, let alone a hearing.
What about the judge’s good pal Mark Judge? Refusing to come forward? The committee refuses to subpoena him. Why? They are never shy about compelling people to testify. Is it possible he would confess, as he reportedly has, to atrocious behavior (and possibly the good judge’s) in his/their past?
You CANNOT, with a straight face, tell us you believe the virgin, choirboy version of the good judge’s high school and college days. This guy is a privileged, rich, white, partisan frat boy, who carries water for the Far Right. Kinda of like you and Dershowitz do now, for some unfathomable reason.
Jim, I’ll stick to the “failing” New York Times and you can haul water for your new cause/pals and enjoy your Breitbart, Hannity, Zero Hedge and Alex Jones. I’ll continue to check in on your musing from time-to-time in the hopes that your descent into the dregs will finally abate and you’ll begin the long ascent to reasonableness and your old self.
Many of your former readers will be there to welcome you back with open arms, but I fear your current gaggle of followers will never follow should you decide to come back to the light.
JDH
Interesting that you mentioned “white” as a disqualifying mark of shame. Your kind of hate filled identity politics has greatly damaged this country, jd.
H,
“you mentioned “white” as a disqualifying mark of shame.”
No just as an indisputable fact. I don’t think he is black, right?
Oh yes, the Far Right is just a bastion of togetherness and bringing the country together. Your kind of religious, misguided, racist, rich ass-kissing bullshit has really helped our country. The reason the majority of Americans hate the Far Right is that they are HATEFUL! I dare say you are too.
JDH
Today’s racist progressives hate all whites really.
JDH – our men are more manly than your teams’. Good luck with that ;-)!
Is it possible to mention black or white, the color, without it leading to a diversion on racism in this comment section. Why is that?
Some inquiring minds already know.
The inclusion of “white” is regrettable, maybe. But it would be misrepresentative of the point to mention only that descriptor.
I was stuck by the entitlement. At one point a senior reminded us all that this was a job interview, and no one is entitled to a seat on the supreme court.
He is and was a partisan frat boy, “prepped” in school, on a conveyor belt. As a crying penitent witness for himself, immaculate. I really have to admire the act. I’ve seen this before.
An adult who cries is manipulative, in my experience. Acting is easier when you have a wellspring of hurt. The recent stresses of almost but not quite having achieved the pinnacle of success in ones profession, the highest possible office, after a lifetime of drinking beer with all the right people, must be excrutiating.
Having a shameful, horrid parts of ones past buried under layers of prayer and mental shellack requires mental and emotional energy to contain.
What we witnessed was the heavy lifting of a man straining to be believable in his performance, most of all, to himself. An endurance test, buttressed by the knowledge that uncorraborated storytelling is nearly impossible to refute, if only you don’t contradict yourself. He almost pulled off a perfect performance, I’d give it a 9/10. This is what the best rhetorical and lawyerly training can produce with frankly average intellectual material. It was an example of how vital mental compartmentalization is to the integrity of personality.
Humans aren’t perfect- many are guilty of horrific, shameful, stupid, and embarrassing acts. We would be paralysed by guilt or shame unless there was a mental escape hatch- which is the ability to be answerable only to ourselves, ultimately. One can forget, utterly, to maintain composure, for a lifetime.
Dr. Ford comes from the same place of prep school privilege. Her own semi reliable memory is an example of the malleability of recollection. Her timorous demeanor is emblematic of her cosseted life, her early years a series of gentle challenges guaranteed to buttress her ascension into a highly collaborative, verbal, safe position in academia. Its believable that the lowest point in her life was being dry humped by a couple of stumbling drunk boys in high school. Its believable that this gentle flowering young woman’s delicate petals were rumpled so rudely. People jumped to defend her honor.
She took a polygraph and passed.
But I also think people will spring to defend his honor against such an insult. Because Brett is a special flower too. So special… all those Lawns he mowed in high school, all the football games, the long hours studying, the Perfect Lawyer rating, all the friends he rented the bus for in high school to travel to a football game, all the parties he threw, his love for the old man and his dairies, his endless clerking for GW bush… it would be just tragic if he wadsn’t entitled to get this job.
So on his honor he will refuse, hoping the rest of his life people genuflect to him as “Your Honor”.
I find tears to be manipulative, in adults of either sex, in situations like these.
Make him take a polygraph.
“Make him take a polygraph.”
SnackPak,
Fun fact…studies have shown that a person who considers himself a victim, even knowing it is wrong to do so, will fail a polygraph on the short term, professing his victimization. However, years later they will pass a polygraph on the same questions.
Studies were done in prison…many prisoners who were recently incarcerated stated they were innocent, and failed the polygraph…years later they passed when professing innocence.
The Human mind is a wonderful thing.
The Democrats have made their 2018 platform crystal clear – there is no place in the Party for straight white men – who must “shut up”. We’ll see how that plays out for them this November.
I’m trying to figure out what “truth” you are talking about in your first sentence. Because there wasn’t a single shred of provable truth in the political hit job of Dr. Ford’s accusations. Nothing can be verified, proven or corroborated. Accusations do not equal truth.
As has been said many times, a sexual assault case from 36 years ago is really not within the jurisdiction of the FBI. It’s a local police matter and since, from what I understand, there is no statute of limitations on such crimes in MD, then wouldn’t it be the responsibility of local law enforcement to investigate if Dr. Ford ever pressed charges?
If this was such a traumatic event for her, why, not once, in the past 36 years has she ever thought to report it? It’s just coincidence then that as Kavanaugh is about to be voted on by the committee for the Supreme Court that she suddenly feels traumatized enough to come forth, right? But she didn’t feel compelled to report the crime to law enforcement but to Diane Feinstein who conveniently sat on it until just the right moment to delay the vote.
Anyone who can’t see this for what it is – a political hit job designed to screw Trump and Kavanaugh and to keep Trump’s choice from reaching the SCOTUS is willfully being blind about it.
JMR,
I guess she’s really good to be able to trick the FBI polygraph dude. Yes, I know they are not admissible in court, etc. but the CIA/FBI and every intelligence service in the world use them. I guess they are just loony, right? Would our frat boy BK take one?
Also, read up on the research about reporting rape and sexual assault. You will find the vast majority of victims NEVER report it. I wonder why, considering the reception they usually receive. Would you report if the priest forced you when you were 15? People might say, you wanted/encouraged him to do it!
JDH
God help us all if we can retroactively press charges against someone for precipitating a “traumatic event” on our part. We’ve become a nation of groveling of self-centered, groveling, pathetic losers.
Replying to your reply jdhines since I can’t reply directly. I get it about sexual assault victims not reporting their crimes, but Ford did report it. And it just so happened that she finally decided to report it just as Kavanaugh was going to be voted on. That’s just a coincidence, right?
Our “frat boy” as you call him did not have to take a polygraph test. Why would he? He doesn’t have to prove his innocence since, last time I checked, the system has always worked on the basis of innocent until proven guilty. I know if I was accused of something that I didn’t do and my accuser had ZERO evidence to prove my guilt, I would have done the same exact thing. It doesn’t take a lawyer to figure that one out.
Nope, this was a political hit job through and through and I feel sorry for Dr. Ford that she got duped by a bunch of scumbag democrats into this situation. I hope she finds the justice she is seeking, but not at the expense of an innocent man.
Please read carefully:
https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/28/politics/rachel-mitchell-ford-kavanaugh-hearing/index.html
The outside counsel who questioned Christine Blasey Ford told Republican senators Thursday night she would not have been able to prosecute Ford’s sexual assault claim against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh based on the evidence, a GOP aide told CNN.
>>> I guess she’s really good to be able to trick the FBI polygraph dude
Sorry dude but that wasn’t an FBI polygraph. It was privately-contracted by her handlers and the FBI wasn’t involved. They only asked her two questions: “Is any part of your statement false?” and “Did you make up any part of your statement?”
They didn’t ask her: ARE YOU 100% certain with NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER that your alleged attacker was Kavanaugh?
A real polygraph that wasn’t bought and paid for by her handlers to advance her “truthiness” would have involved more than two generic questions.
James Gagliano, a former FBI agent who led a SWAT team in New York for several years and now teaches at St. John’s University, told Fox News that while polygraphs are valuable, they “can be beaten.”
“In this case, if they want to put this out as irrefutable evidence that this woman is telling the truth because she passed a polygraph — that’s not the way polygraphs work,” Gagliano added. “If that were the case, I would’ve taken every drug dealer, gangbanger, and pedophile I investigated, and I would’ve thrown them on the polygraph.”
Gagliano, who said he was subjected to several polygraphs at the FBI but never administered one himself, said people can sometimes pass polygraphs if they’ve convinced themselves they are telling the truth: “It’s not a lie if you believe it,” he said.
“Everyone knows polygraph exams can be beaten,” Gagliano added. “If someone is a psychopath or a sociopath, if you don’t have a conscience, if you don’t know right from wrong — you can beat it.”
JMR: “And it just so happened that she finally decided to report it just as Kavanaugh was going to be voted on. That’s just a coincidence, right?”
The guy who (she says) drunkenly molested her had been nominated for the Supreme Court. Is it so unimaginable that would prompt her to speak up of her own volition?
JMR: “He doesn’t have to prove his innocence since, last time I checked, the system has always worked on the basis of innocent until proven guilty.”
You’re thinking of the criminal justice system. That standard doesn’t apply here. As a lot of people have noted, this isn’t a criminal trial; it’s a job interview. Kavanaugh is in no criminal jeopardy. No one’s gonna send him to jail. The risk for him is not getting the plummest job a lawyer can get. I’ve also interviewed for lots of jobs I didn’t get.
And if Kavanaug doesn’t like what his nomination process has turned into, well, lots and lots of people here have proclaimed that Dr. Blasey Ford should “put on her big girl panties” and such like. So why not him? He can always withdraw and go back to his private life. Sauce for the gander.
>>> Is it so unimaginable that would prompt her to speak up of her own volition?
Not at all. But it also makes it political. Kav’s entire life to date did not prompt her to speak up. Kav’s confirmation did. How is that not political?!
>>> The risk for him is not getting the plummest job a lawyer can get.
And what is the risk to Ford if he’s confirmed? What is the risk to anyone? That he groped a girl when he was 17 and drunk? Followed by an absolutely stellar adult life in which 65 women who have worked under him, with him, and in some cases even dated him, having nothing to say except he’s awesome?
You like risks? Let’s talk about risks. If Kav is confirmed and it turns out that he’s a sexual predator, then Congress impeaches him and he’s prosecuted. But what if Kav is not confirmed and Ford is a liar? Then you just destroyed a man’s career and reputation and you can’t fix it.
Ex: “How is that not political?!”
I said nothing about politics. The question is whether she acted of her own volition.
From what I understand, Blasey Ford first wrote to her member of Congress in July. Blasey Ford then followed up with a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein, also in July. Around that time, she was questioned by Ronan Farrow of the New Yorker, so Farrow knew what she had to say. But she declined to go public with the accusations, and Farrow, despite being a despicable libtard, did not publish anything either. (Link.)
Feinstein held on to the letter, and I believe there was a private hearing about it (emphasize private). But the letter did not become public knowledge. That is to say Feinstein, a Democrat, kept the letter under wraps. The letter did not come out until Ryan Grim, a reporter for The Intercept, got wind of it and published an article on September 12. This makes nonsense of any allegation that Democrats plotted to use Blasey Ford against the nomination — not ahead of time, and not opportunistically after Blasey Ford came forward.
(NB: I can hear you now, claiming that this was a planned leak. Please keep your mouth shut unless you can present… drumroll please… evidence that it was a planned leak! Thanks ever so much.)
So, Dr. Blasey Ford sees the boy who once tried to molest her about to be appointed to the most powerful court in the land for life, and decides on her own to speak up about it? I find that completely credible. Her doing so hurts your political party and helps your opponents? Boo hoo for you. This is where the politics comes in.
Ex: “If Kav is confirmed and it turns out that he’s a sexual predator, then Congress impeaches him and he’s prosecuted.”
Oddly enough, Dan Savage has recommended exactly this course of action. Impeachment, that is, not prosecution; this case can never be more than her word against his. Instead, think payback for the stolen Merrick Garland nomination. Anyway, be careful what you wish for.
Ex: “But what if Kav is not confirmed and Ford is a liar? Then you just destroyed a man’s career and reputation and you can’t fix it.”
I can’t destroy anything. I’m just running my mouth on the Internet. But politics ain’t beanbag. Count up all the tears shed on right and left over destroyed careers and ruined reputations, then let’s see whose ocean is deeper and wider.
>>> The letter did not come out until Ryan Grim, a reporter for The Intercept, got wind of it
Is “got wind of it” the new libtard term for a leak? LOL you can’t even bring yourself to say the word: leak! Your TDS argument is: Because you can’t prove who the leaker was, you can’t claim it was a “planned” leak. Therefore, it was a not-planned leak! LOL! That’s a new one, Elrond—a spontaneous random natural leak! What a gem!
And how typical that when it comes to a leak, you suddenly demand incontrovertible proof, but when it comes to the ever-changing testimony of a woman with no evidence and all witnesses against her, well, her word is good enough. Are you seeing double, Elrond? That would be your hypocritical standards.
Ford is a pawn. She was manipulated by Senate Dems seeking to block Kav’s confirmation “at all costs”. Ford is both figuratively and literally being handled by her handlers.
*sigh* That’s four times… in one weekend… I call on all angels and ministers of grace to bear witness that I wrote the following: “I can hear you now, claiming that this was a planned leak“, to which Ex replied: “LOL you can’t even bring yourself to say the word: leak!” Ex, you are clearly in your own world, a one-man human centipede.
>>> 9 times why he wouldn’t advocate for an FBI investigation
When a group of Dems ask you the same question over and over nine times, you can be certain that it’s for rhetorical effect. Why answer a question that everyone already knows the answer to?
FACT: no FBI investigation will “clear Kavanaugh” as Dems claim. There are only two ways his name might be cleared: 1) Ford admits she made the whole thing up to stop Kav’s confirmation; 2) The actual people involved in her allegation come out of hiding.
The reason Dems want an FBI investigating is to delay matters and allow them to cook up more crazy Creepy Porn Lawyer charges, to keep the Kav-as-sexual-predator narrative going until everyone just gives up.
If Dems were so concerned about truth, why didn’t they question Dr. Ford? They didn’t ask a single question to clarify Ford’s claims. Not one. Instead, they spent their time grandstanding, and praising Ford for her “courage” and “inspiration”.
Why didn’t they ask her why she lied about her fear of flying? Her credibility was shot the moment she testified that she routinely flies all over the place.
Ex,
Our choir boy Kav sure kept good company in his youth, eh? Mark Judge is a real gem. A blackout drunk, hiding somewhere in Delaware at his friends “vacation compound” reading comic books. His ex-girlfriend has come forward saying he confessed doing unspeakable things to young girls. Do you have daughters?
JDH
Guilt by association?
So if that’s the standard of measure, then let’s look at the crowd coming to Ford’s defense. It includes Creepy Porn Lawyer and admitted 15-year-old-groper Cory Booker.
Everyone on this forum knows that if Kav had been caught lying like Ford did about her fear of flying, then it would be headline news everywhere. If Kav had been caught lying about ANYTHING—about the color of his tie—it would have been portrayed as irrefutable proof of his guilt.
‘Do you have daughters’ – Good Lord, could you be any more of a lame cliché? Oh My God, what about the children???? What about sons, do you have any of those? Did you know that when you include stats from prisons, men are raped as often as women? Does it worry you that men’s lives can be destroyed on a complete whim of a woman, at any time, without any evidence? Or are the poor little women the only ones who matter?
But here is the bottom line: We cannot restructure our entire legal system and cultural mores of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ just because your feelings are hurt. If you accuse someone of a crime, you have to prove it using evidence. If you can’t, then that person should suffer no penalty. Ford can’t prove shit, therefore nothing bad should happen to Kavanaugh. I know that makes you feel bad, and I’m very sorry for that. But the fact remains.
Devon44
“Did you know that when you include stats from prisons, men are raped as often as women?”
You’ve brought this stat up before……Since I am certain that men are not housed with women in prison – who is raping all of these men in prison???? Oh right, that would be OTHER MEN.
Ha ha. Those nasty men. According to Nurse Steeleje, men are the problem, the only problem.
Did some sinister powers behind the scenes orchestrate this extended clown show of last minute pop-up bimbos to televise the reckless irresponsible insanity (inanity?) of the Dems to middle America? Guilty until proven innocent? Really? Perhaps JHK should have added one sentence to the end – “Or not.”
All for a nothingburger? Rowe is a state issue, and I don’t think the decision itself denied that. If repealed, the deplorable “victims of male oppression” in flyover land merely have to travel to one of the many Peoples’ Paradises on our lovely coasts. Or perhaps Detroit, or Chicago, and watch out for low flying objects.
What are the Dems afraid of? The young right thinks perhaps Kavanaugh being questioned about treason and military tribunals, plus 50,000 sealed indictments, might be a little more persuasive than “muh feelinz”.
The trouble with your argument is that it’s based solely on appearance and emotion. If Ford had went to the police 36 years, her claim would have had credibility. Ford needs to prove guilt, it’s not the other way around. Otherwise we end up back in the middle ages.
Absolutely. Let’s throw him in the river and see if he sinks. If he drowns, he is innocent. If he doesn’t, then we need to kill him because he is guilty.
If race doesn’t matter as Dr King said, why bring it up at all? Isn’t supposed to be all about “contents of character”? But you don’t really believe that and neither did he. You want to do to Whites what was done to Blacks. You want revenge. That’s understandable for Blacks, though very unwise in the long run. The really, really weird part is Whites like you who want to see their own people savaged. That’s not only unwise, but crazy.
Elrond Hubbard: “you’re thinking of the criminal justice system. That standard doesn’t apply here. As a lot of people have noted, this isn’t a criminal trial; it’s a job interview. Kavanaugh is in no criminal jeopardy. No one’s gonna send him to jail. The risk for him is not getting the plummest job a lawyer can get. I’ve also interviewed for lots of jobs I didn’t get.”
I’m sorry, but innocent until proven guilty actually does apply to all aspects of life, not just the criminal justice system. If someone goes around claiming you raped them 36 years ago (or perpetuates any lie against you that will hurt your reputation), what impact do you think that would have on your life? Some people will believe it just because she’s a woman and all women should always be believed, right? And then those people will treat you accordingly, just as has happened to Kavanaugh. The point here is that you didn’t have to even do what the accuser is accusing you of to have it ruin your life, even if you don’t go to jail for it. You really can’t compare this to an average job interview, since I’m pretty sure you’re job interviews were not broadcast in front of billions of people. Slight difference between not getting a job and having your name and reputation smeared and ruined and your life threatened.
Oh, really, JDH, I once was a young high school girl who occasionally attended keggers, though not so young as 15. Sometimes I got drunk, and maybe I’d have a few tokes, but I really attended for the gropes, and if M. Svoboda (or maybe it was J. Todje, it was, after all, a long time ago) backed me up against a tree and stuck his uninvited hand down my jeans, well that’s what my jeans were there for. Oh, the daring of it all, knowing the price you would pay if your parents found out you had slipped your leash. Oh, the shivery excitement of it. Oh, the fond girlish hopes. From the number of classmates attending such functions, I tend to believe it is not an abnormal phase of growing up for a fairly large portion of the population 50 years ago. I look back on it fondly, and none of my friends seemed any the worse for such activities either.
Read the realclearpolitics article about her scrubbed yearbook. .
And you must really question her judgement about attending a drinking party with 4 older boys she did not really know, either by herself or with another girl. How is it possible for a 51 year old woman to be traumatized by groping and grinding, because I remember a lot of high school parties like that as well.
I was sexually assaulted at 19 when my car broke down and a male offered to take me home and took me to a remote warehouse instead. I managed to escape and the very first thing I did was go to the police station. The next few days, I received counseling from the university. I told my family and friends immediately.
I can recall this memory very clearly and I don’t get emotional about it because it happened so long ago. And I don’t have an agenda.
Hey JDH I am 100% sure that five years ago you sexually assaulted me. Can’t say exactly when or exactly where but I can weave a compelling yarn and if you were within 50 miles of me in 2013 and you do not have an exact account of your whereabouts every day of that year then you must be guilty. Don’t bother trying to profess your innocence because that is victim blaming and I by declaration am a victim and therefore beyond reproach. Now go spend the rest of your life shame for what you did, dumbass.
Thank JDH! I used to be a big Kunstler fan but he seems to have fallen prey to the “old, angry, entitled white man” syndrome. And most of his current committee of commenters are sick with the same syndrome, symptoms of which are peevish anger and temper tantrums, misogynistic tendencies, and desires to return to a glorious past where women knew their place and didn’t have the audacity to challenge the patriarchy. #metoo!
I guess you would prefer the swiftly forming matriarchy ?
“You CANNOT, with a straight face, tell us you believe the virgin, choirboy version of the good judge’s high school and college days.”
Yet YOU–with a straight face–are perfectly willing to believe a
woman who has yet to provide a scintilla of hard evidence to
support a story riddled with more holes than a termite infested
barn, a woman who even now may be seated at her kitchen table counting the $500,000 in gofundme money this debacle has so far earned her. Christine Ford is a practiced liar, from her stupid claim of being afraid to fly (so easily debunked) to her hazy, inaccurate recollections of events. The net she spread to entrap and destroy Kavanaugh has, instead, entrapped and destroyed the woman who urged her on, the frozen-faced Feinstein looking like a corpse at the proceedings that have put an end to her political career.
Kavanaugh has been exonerated. Hopefully he will be
available to swear in Donald Trump after his 2020 victory.
It is the corrupt, thoroughly rotten Democratic Party that
has been found guilty.
Jim doesn’t need anybody to defend him but I will say that he’s been at the table when the New Left has stolen the sandwich out of his lunchbox, so I think he’s got some experience to offer us.
Maybe you could try reading other accounts of the “allegation.”
Start with the fact that she mentioned this incident to her husband in 2002 and again in sessions with a therapist in 2012 and 2013. This, maybe you didn’t realize, was well before Kavanaugh was a twinkle in your beloved president’s eye. We’ve already learned that he is quite capable of lying under oath going back to 2004 and 2006. During hearings he lied about receiving information from stolen Democratic computer files. At the time he was working to secure Senate confirmations for G.W.
Maybe you should start with the fact that she mentioned the incident but mentioned no names at that session, especially
that of Brett Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh’s name seems to have
appeared suddenly in her letter to Dianne Feinstein. Before that
it’s not known if Ford ever mentioned his name to anyone.
Ford is a liar…either out of malice or some mental disorder.
Maybe both. In her accusation, she refers to a friend, Leland Keyser, as having attended the party. When contacted by the
committee, Keyser’s lawyers replied: “Ms. Keyser does not know Mr. Kavanaugh and she has no recollection of ever being at a party or gathering where he was present, with, or without, Dr. Ford…” Just one of a number of convenient memory lapses,
part of a charade that has so far earned Christine Ford $500,000 in gofundme money. What the inevitable book will
earn no one can say.
She mentioned to her husband in 2002 the name of Kavanaugh. He will be questioned by the FBI in this regard. No matter, idiots will continue to look for reasons to exonerate this serial liar and sex offender.
It is not Jim’s fault that the DNC went completely batshit crazy insane and moved hard to the left while the GOP moved towards the center.
The DNC is busy committing suicide in a grotesque virtue signaling exercise. Fuck them. They deserve to die an agonizing death after the shit they pulled during Obama’s two terms.
Hey Nut Case,
Are you f#@%king kidding? The Far Right has moved to the center??? At least tell us something a five-year-old would believe.
Let’s see what happens in November. We’ll see how well your moderate Far Right bullshit party goes over with the country then. You are seriously missed guided, Nut Job.
JDH
Yes, we’ll see what happens in November; your crowing may be premature. (As your language is crude and vulgar.)
Herman,
Yes, I know I’m a vulgarian. I didn’t inherit my money; I earned it. You are a choirboy, just like our boy Kav.
JDH
You are mad because you are losing :-P!
Losing big JDH (dancing and laughing)
DarkStar,
Losing? Are you f#$%king kidding me? We are witnessing the destruction of the Republican party once and for all. Really, the Rs are now Trumpists and will be remembered like many fascist gangs in history. Enjoy the little bit of Dark Light while it lasts.
JDH
LOL yeah right. Trump will be remembered as one of the best President’s we have ever had. He is not beholden to the global cabal trying to destroy the constitution that you support.
DarkLight,
Good G_d! Your ignorance is staggering! Let me guess, you live in the Deep South, right? And you go to church every Sunday, yes? You also believe GGG never lies too? By the way, did you know that GGG is “really, really, like really, rich?” No tax returns to prove it once and for all, but rich nonetheless.
JDH
JDH I love Donald Trump. Your right, he is rich – and it’s his money. Not DNC or RNC money. He doesn’t have to answer to those traitors. Why do you bash that? Money is not the root of all evil. It’s what is in the heart of the person with the money.
These eastern bloc paid shills are hilarious
Jdh, are you implying people in the deep south are ignorant to a staggering extent? With every comment you reveal another demographic group you hate. They probably add up to most of the country.
But of course THEY are the problem, (the deplorable ones) not jdhInes and all his hate filled Trump Derangement Syndrome. It’s kind of funny but sad at the same time.
Lets see now. When was the last time you heard the RNC push their Jesus bullshit or sky wizard beliefs into Federal law?
The DNC is batshit crazy. I voted for Obama twice and regret it. All I got from that asshole was;
-an escalation to the stupid wars on Terror
-a DOJ that failed to enforce the law and hold many rich powerful people accountable for what happened in the run up to the 2008 crisis
-Next I get a rabid gang of retards pushing weird social ideas about gender that have no rational scientific basis. I can see maybe 3 genders (male, female, and other)
-I get bullshit from the DNC where they push to deprive me of my 1st and 2nd Amendment rights
Fuck the DNC. I am done trying to compromise and fix what we have because it can’t be reformed. I would rather vote for the political arsonist again in 2020. Trump is doing such a good job at what I want him to do. I want him to burn the whole fucking rotten system down to the ground so it can be rebuilt on sound governance in compliance with the US Constitution. I will also be happy if and when the RNC meets the same fate.
I may not ever get all that I want but as long as the rich motherfuckers that drove this country in a ditch are made to suffer and lose everything, I will gladly tolerate a lot of bullshit.
Nutty,
I agree with much of what you said. There is no doubt that the entire system is completely and hopelessly broken and both the Rs AND the Ds are complicit. If the GGG could actually bring the whole mess down, through no conscious effort on his part, it might be a basis for a new start. It could well be messy, even bloody, but it will occur at some point in the not too distant future anyway. I am pleased we can agree on some basics.
JDH
Herman.
“They probably add up to most of the country.”
No, actually, they don’t, if you check, you’ll see that Hillary won the popular vote convincingly.
The logic here is:
a. the deep south overwhelming voted for GGG.
b. GGG is completed f@#$ked up.
c. the people who put him there are f@#$ked up.
d. conclusion, those folks who voted for chaos are indeed ignorant. Note: Not all, just a majority of folks who voted for GGG.
Unfortunate, but if you love the truth as much as you profess….
JDH
JDH, I honestly and knowingly voted for chaos. I considered it the best alternative and still do. Out of chaos comes opportunity.
draupnir,
Just make sure to keep your powder dry and your plans flexible. I am looking for a semi-rural place to settle down for the long road of chaos ahead. You and I welcome the chaos because the winners and losers will not be determined by the ones with money and lawyers.
The winners will be the ones humble enough to stay out of trouble, able to offer a needed service, the ability to grow some of their own food, and the ones that have no problem pulling the trigger when the need arises.
Already have mine, thanks.
Amen!
Draup,
I can respect that. At least you didn’t fall for the Right Wing hogwash of the Hard Right.
JDH
“…GOP moved towards the center.”
What? Are you deluded??? The GOP is no longer. It was first infected by the Tea Baggers, then the “Freedom” caucus and is now, simply, and without further qualification required, the Trump Party.
Typical BS ,a leftist Orwellian/Puritan shaming technique. Like Nurse Ratchet in Cuckoo’s Nest ,”I saw what you did Billy!” Our host is one honest honcho, and no fan of Trump as anyone who has perused these pages knows.
Opie,
Right! Our host is super tough on the Trumptard and the Far Right in general. Wow!
JDH
I picked a recent post at random and came upon this quote
“I’ve caught two of Trump’s rallies the past week or so. His freestyling babble at the podium makes me wish I could wave a magic wand and just make him vanish in a cloud of orange vapor, or perhaps turn him into Richard Nixon. (Doesn’t all this make you nostalgic for ole Nixie?) He can’t shut up about the economic miracles that he has wrought with his mighty “stable genius” brain. Perhaps he has not noticed that the money system is crumbling all around the world at the margins. If he does not understand that this rot eventually must reach the center, then he has washed down too many cheeseburgers with his own Kool Aid.”
Pretty much typical fodder at our hosts command.
I know it might hurt your feelings little one, but those of us who still believe that truth exists outside of what we “feel”it should be,will continue to state it. And no matter what I say, how many witnesses I conjure, you will still be convinced that I’m a partisan republican hack. Frankly, both sides terrify me, but the left particularly at this time as it appears they wish me and those like me to either bend over or die.I intend to do neither.
Opie,
You have made a reasonable counter point and yes, our host has frequently bashed His GGG’ness.
I am heartened by the fact that you do realize that BOTH the Rs and the Ds are no f@#$king good. I can agree with you there.
It just seems JHK’s lurch to the hard right is a bit too complete, even though he does bash the Trumptard from time-to-time. As for frat boy Kav, he was caught in obvious, but understandable, lies. He loves beer (as I do), but he was never stumbling down drunk (I was)? Why not just admit to the obvious, instead of lie about it? He would have done himself a big favor.
I would not have a problem with Kav if he were not simply a groomed, product of the hard right and assuming these allegations can be resolved fairly. I think he probably could have been a great justice without the contamination of the far right, the Catholic church and the Federalist Society.
By the way BREAKING NEWS. It looks like there may be an investigation by the FBI. We will see.
JDH
I share your disappointment. Further his weepy tears may be the result of the “good catholic” boy’s shame at his behavior being made public and the fear of loosing all. He hid behind family, friends, children, parents to deflect his behavior. Is it possible the out of control behavior of pal Judge could be the result of abuse? We all know the prefered hobbies of priests.
Speaking as an experienced attorney, Dr. Ford is one of the most obvious liars I’ve ever seen or dealt with…Scrubs her far left social media before going public…malice aforethought, and intent to deceive. Lies about telling her therapist it was Kavanaugh. Lies about fear of flying, when she has been flying all over the world.Delays going public until there is no time for an orderly examination of her claims.Changes her story from 4 attackers to 2, and can’t remember anything, even the year, about what supposed to be a traumatic incident..Never mentions the incident to anyone until she reads that Kavanaugh voted against Obamacare and is mentioned for the Supreme Court. (Motive) No judge would allow such testimony without corroboration.
And the more we put women on pedestals and scream the don’t lie, the more they will lie for fame, revenge, prestige, profit, etc.
They do lie – a lot.
You can see that Kunstler likely believes Ford was a 15 year old slut, making the rounds to many parties such as the one at which she was assaulted. Let’s say Kunstler is right and that Dr. Ford made it all up. It has already been proven that Kavanaugh has lied under oath as pertains to access to information Stolen from computers of Democratic Senators. His Angry diatribe against the Democrats in the room during the hearing shows he is no more than a partisan hack. This one wants to wear a robe as member of the highest judicial power in the land. Kunstler has lost any sense of morality and decency. You put it extremely lightly in saying he is a disappointment. If he ever was was a voice of reason, he clearly now is not.
Amen gonetohell
KKKavanaugh’s crock of sheiss, oh, sorry, crocodile tears brought on my own gag reflex triggered by such transparently faux emotion.
Indeed, JHK’s neural net is so aggrieved by the whole gender brouhaha that he cannot see the Fauxrest for the D’s, aka Democrats who are women who will now revive Clytemnestra’s cross your legs movement in old Greece, the very model of our Republic (once Demos, now Plato’s).
Come back to the strive and climb, Jimmy K, Jimmy K. (Oh, that show bombed).
One thing that drives the trained seals of the left crazy is an intellectual who refuses to join their fundamentalist religious cult.
Yep.
I’ve visited Eyesore of the Month monthly since about 2003. Occasionally I dipped my toes into Clusterfuck Nation, when it used to feature comments about U.S. economics and fiscal policy.
Over the last two years, this blog has tipped over into the realm of Fox News talking-points. It’s not a good look.
I have several elderly white relatives who have succumbed to this weird political syndrome. I don’t fully understand why they are so susceptible – but I have my suspicions.
Deeply disappointed. Dumping my bookmarks to both blogs.
Ditto, done with the Kun.
The bowling pins sort themselves until they fall into the triangle tray and are set on the floor awaiting the iron ball of reality. Anything but a strike, No butterballs expected.
The problem is that we are living in an age of decline, where people fight over the spoils like angry squirrels over acorns. It makes each political battle seem much more acute in importance and removes any desire to compromise, because people instinctively understand there is a shrinking pool of resources and wealth to access and it’s time to begin preparing for the long, long winter of our civilization ahead.
Visit http://www.darkageprep.com for more.
Yep good point
Exactly. That’s just what is happening. Fighting over shrinking resources.
I don’t think it’s down to a fight over dwindling resources yet. I think there is an awful sense of impending catastrophe, but these dolts (on the right and left) think their side, and only their side, can prevent the inevitable.
The victory for their side then becomes an existential issue.
Very few can just calmly prepare.
As Bob Dylan said years ago:
“Praise be to Nero’s Neptune; The Titanic sails at dawn;
And everybody’s shouting; Which Side Are You On?”
Our ship was holed below the waterline long ago. Panic is just starting to set in.
Really, Jim? The display he put on was that of a over-privileged frat-boy who emotionally couldn’t deal with being called to account for his actions for probably the first time in his life. Those who have been assaulted and abused are all too familiar with such attitudes from their assaulters and abusers.
Really Venuspluto? Let’s see how you react after a few weeks of death threats to you, your spouse, your children; being accused of being a rapist, a gang rapist, of waving your private parts at people, being parodied throughout the media, having the people interviewing you call you “evil” etc. etc. I’m sure you’ve got such nerves of steel that none of this would bother you in the least, right?
I don’t care if he’s a frat boy, privileged, rich, etc. He didn’t deserve this.
JMR,
When will Kavvy take the polygraph as the women have? I’ll bet that’s not gonna happen, eh?
JDH
Right, not going to happen. Because, as I replied to your post above, why would he? He is innocent until proven guilty and since he doesn’t have anything to prove, there is zero reason for him to take a polygraph test. He certainly wouldn’t be a very good lawyer or showing very good judgment if he did.
JMR…but if he’d like his protestations of innocence to be taken seriously, to clear his reputation and the certain cloud over his seat on SCOTUS, then surely it would be in his best interests to ASK for, actively seek, a polygraph? Just as it would have been in his best interests to answer the question about an FBI investigation as opposed to what he DID do, which was squirm & weasel-word his way through it till he ended in deafening silence, which provided his answer to all.
How would a polygraph clear Kav’s reputation? So if he took a fake polygraph like Ford did, with two generic questions and no control questions, and he passed, then that would mean they both passed. And all that would prove is why fake polygraphs are useless.
He could submit to a real polygraph, but then the question is: Why didn’t she?
And if Christine Ford (who has received way more death-threats and harassment as a result of all this than Kavanaugh certainly ever will) had reacted in a similar fashion in her testimony, “she would be mocked and lambasted for being ‘too emotional’, or perhaps ‘on her period'”, as Laci Green said on Twitter yesterday.
But such hypocrisy and double-standards are to be expected as Brett Kavanaugh is a man the right can get behind! 😀
Pure speculation. Since that didn’t happen, you are merely speculating. You are also speculating why Kavanaugh was so visibly upset during his opening statement. And you are presuming guilt when there is zero evidence that he did anything of the sort. More politically motivated bullshit.
Flounder and splutter for us some more, why don’t you. 😉
“Flounder and splutter for us some more, why don’t you.” That’s the best you can come up with? Everything you said is speculation.
Nice worn out propaganda…In the words of Lindsay Graham, if you have been assaulted, call the Police.
P,
No, it now looks like we will call the FBI! How do you like them apples? Too bad, eh?
JDH
I thought you were better than this. But of course you don’t want to rock the boat of the Lib Fem/Gay Male alliance. Look under the couch, maybe you left your heart under there.
Amen! What a frigging farce! What at least semi-attractive woman hasn’t had her boobs grabbed by some lout? That is when you slap a face, or threaten to tell a boss. And particularly when you are out with some teenage boy(s).
But “life changing”??? My God, what ridiculous histrionics! To Hell with Dr. Ford and her overblown hysterics. What a wimp!
Squeeky Fromm
Girl Reporter
Boob grabbing: I recall that in 7th grade science class at Kennedy Jr. High in Cupertino, I was walking from station to station (microscopes) and had both my boobs grabbed by a horny 13 year old boy–even though there were 30 other people in the room.
I didn’t like it one bit. Yet I continued on with science lab and my life.
How big are they?
“How big are they”
Thwack,
13 year old boys in Cupertino run about 5’6″….
…and a bit larger in East Palo Alto….
When I was that age, a neighborhood girl grabbed my crotch (true story)…No trauma!
And did you see the hair in her face? The little girl voice? Every single hair was artfully arranged to create the façade. Yes, she’s a fag and fags love her for it.
OH, PS:
To Dr. Ford:
Grow up Bitch, and put your big girl panties on!
Squeeky Fromm

Love it!! 😛
Squeeky for President!
Kavanaugh admittedly drank beer. For me personally, in looking at Dr. Ford, there is not enough beer…

Ron,
You’re a real class act, man.
JDH
You’re judging?! What about your remarks below to Squeaky, Mr Class Act?
He’s a typical Democrat. Nuff said.

Liberal men look down on women!
Herman,
Well, Squeaky is a willing participant in the “Squeaky Alumni Association” by her own words. Boys are just being boys grabbing some unfortunate young women’s boobs.
JDH
Thanks h, you always have my back. I appreciate it!
Herman,
You and Ron… birds of a feather flock together….
JDH
JDH, it’s not an act man, it’s the truth.
Would you? You would, wouldn’t you?
RA
Hey Squeaky,
I’m sure you pulled your big girl panties down plenty of times, eh? Good times, right?
JDH
OMG!!! What you just said to me! I am traumatized! I shall never be able to fly again! You have diminished me as a person, reducing me to a mere sexual orifice for the pleasure of men!
Oh, where is the psychiatrist??? Forty years from now I shall still be affected by your male chauvinist comment, and probably unable to leave my house, and unable to engage in normal relations with men!
I demand the FBI investigate YOU! To see if you are a serial lout, who abuses women!
I am going to tell my friends what you said, and if you ever run for office, or need to confirmed by the Senate, I shall bring it up!
You will be marked forever by your Toxic Masculinity! And I shant forget!
OH, where is my Valium???

Too funny.

You may be OK; that’s actually pretty funny. Touche!
JDH
You left out the polygraph, Squeeky.
Also your Dear Leader Manson is still dead.
OMG call the FBI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JDH is a woman abuser!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re sounding more and more like a pathetic loser, JDH…Quit while you’re not too far behind.
P, Esq.,
You sound like an ambulance chaser. What kind of law do you practice, pray tell? Sure you’re not a white, “wanna be rich,” frustrated, white prick who supports the hard right and all their bullshit? I guess you go to church every Sunday too, yes?
And thanks for your advice, but I think I’ll continue to post on a public forum as often as I choose to.
JDH

“He sounds more like an entertainment lawyer to me, the type who does his own TV ads while wearing a clown suit.”
NO MONEY DOWN! YOU DON’T GET PAID – I DON’T GET PAID!
Mr. K is thoroughly correct! Dr. Ford did not provide any evidence, and to be honest, she didn’t even really appear genuine (in my opinion). So what that she changed her voice and acted like a little hapless and helpless girl who needed everyone around her to assist her in dealing with the world. What a real insult to women! A grown ass woman who is supposed to have all these degrees and experience simply would not act like that. Any man who believes this is being totally hosed.
One of the men being hosed would be Chris Wallace on Fox News, apparently. He called Blasey Ford’s testimony “extremely emotional, extremely raw, and extremely credible” and said it was “a disaster for the Republicans.” (Link.)
Wallace added: “‘Nobody could listen to her deliver those words and talk about the assault and the impact it had had on her life and not have your heart go out to her. ‘She obviously was traumatized by an event.'” His Fox News colleague Bret Baier also observed that hearing from Blasey Ford “is a totally different thing” than reading her allegations. (Link)
What a bunch of hosers!
Yes I have no doubt they were convinced by her act. Men are very easy to manipulate.
Yes, loved the way she testified in a little girl voice…pathetic.
Of course there is bad faith on the Democrats’ side. Of course they want a way to resist, and possibly prevent, any of Trump’s nominees from being seated on the Supreme Court.
But then, of course they can answer accusations of bad faith in the Kavanaugh nomination just by pointing, again, to the abject nonsense that Republicans pretended was a reason why judge Merrick Garland should not be seated — because there was “only” a year and a half left in Obama’s presidency. That bullshit was so transparent they could have re-glazed half the windows in D.C. with it, but that kind of thing has been going on forever. In fact that particular piece of bullshit was originally coined by Joe Biden, back at a moment when it was useful for the Democrats. You could follow the chain of tit-for-tat B.S. back for decades, if you felt like it. It has really escalated now, that’s all.
But there’s something else going on: an honest-to-God social movement. The parties aren’t running this movement. They’re either for or against it, but it originates from the wider society. The point of this social movement is not to hurl bitter accusations about rape and rape culture in all directions; it’s to challenge, and possibly change, the way people think about sex and consent. Specifically, it’s about where the responsibility lies, and about why in God’s name women (or anyone, but it’s women) should have to put up with the nonsense they put up with. Skritchy telling Dr. Ford to ‘grow up and put her big girl panties on’ is a fine illustration of shifting the burden away from the perpetrator. The point of the movement is to keep it with the perpetrator, where it belongs.
I remember what it was like being a teenage horndog. From time immemorial, men have been trying to impose their sexual desires, and their expectations, on women. We do it with leers, comments, unwanted touching, harassment — and sometimes with spiked drinks, . Nowadays women are deciding for themselves that instead of ‘putting their big girl panties on’ (i.e., putting up with being preyed upon and getting over it), they’re going to clear a space around them where they actually don’t get preyed upon. Maybe society’s expectations will actually change to secure women’s freedom of action, and even the teenage horndogs will learn to respect it.
Maybe society’s expectations will actually change to secure women’s freedom of action, and even the teenage horndogs will learn to respect it.
I wouldn’t count on it. Eras of decline and collapse tend to result in society being less civilized, not more.
And we all know Kavanaugh will be confirmed anyway, so as distasteful as I found his display during yesterday’s hearings, I know there’s really no point in getting terribly upset about the whole shit-show.
That’s quite possible. “Events, dear boy, events.” Still, I know what I consider to be right and wrong, and I think this social movement is in the right while it lasts. Meanwhile, this already messed-up nomination process is simply finding another way to be messed up.
Duh, dumb ass! That’s what the decorum of “gentlemanly conduct” was all about! And, for that matter what the gender decorum of “lady like” behavior was about.
Such consensus decorum (not imposed by prelates, ministerial or legal decrees) variously formed but enforced by both genders is the very crux of interpersonal relationships in all societies. Again, it has nothing to do with patriarchy or matriarchy, but rather allowing one gender agenda to take preeminence over the other (emphatically, only two) as appropriate to countering survival threatening forces.
Now though, the innate tension between the agenda difference — one sex to the other — is being hyped for political capital just as any demographic distinction is being hyped for tribalistic claim to victim class. Both genders now are “liberated” from consensus boundaries about sexual expression as well as any public standards of behavior, but according to the current political play book men generally are guilty for the roguish behavior of the few, leaving all men labeled as oppressors.
For society’s sake do a little research in anthropology and evolutionary zoology.
I’m well versed in anthropology and evolutionary psychology, but thanks anyway, dumbass. You couldn’t be more wrong when you say these questions have “nothing to do with patriarchy or matriarchy”. The kind of consensus decorum you’re harking back to was thoroughly patriarchal. What’s more, it actually was ‘imposed by prelates, ministerial or legal decrees’, whenever and wherever hegemonic norms needed to be shored up using the power of the state. For society’s sake, you should read some Gramsci and educate yourself about how hegemonic systems work.
In any case, the patriarchy is still around, but it has ceded much of the field. What has partly replaced it is not matriarchy, but equality, or at least the ideal of equality. That kind of equality between the sexes is an achievement, and the #MeToo movement is about defending that achievement against continuing efforts to restore patriarchy as an uncontested norm.
It was the old norms of gender decorum that “allowed one gender agenda to take preeminence over the other” — they kept women in a box, denied control or say over their own lives. Women could not own property, make contracts, or participate in actual decisions about how the society was run. A woman who lacked a recognized role in society, defined in some way by their relationship to a man or a masculine authority (including the masculinized authority of the church), was pretty much screwed. Much of the Muslim world operates this way today, often in a much worse form, and everyone sees how nasty it is. No such restrictions ever applied to men.
The old gender decorum was, again, an expression of patriarchy: men holding all the cards. In time, new norms of gender decorum may indeed take root, but they should not be ones that ensure women have the same freedoms that men take for granted. Since that means not dropping the responsibility and the consequences for men’s proclivities on women’s shoulders, us men are going to have to take that responsibility for ourselves. You and others who favour patriarchy think that’s unfair? Boo hoo.
The idea that women don’t lie about “things like this” – or at all – obviously makes women morally superior to men. A clear but sneaky back door into Matriarchy. How can anybody miss it? But of course it’s Elrond or Mr McGoo who misses everything.
Ah so, “ceded” you claim. Actually, dumb ass, you yet frame it as a valiant overcoming of one sex’s oppression of another. Typical of arguments mounted for political capital (power edge). Your argument is a moral pitch for preserving your personal sense of piety against the “sins” of past generations. The reality though is difference between today and yesteryear generations is not whether one was more noble or humane (as you would have it) but simply the fact that the wealth of intellectual and scientific capital today is so profoundly much greater, permitting — for those who objectively seek it — to avoid innate social reflex to join onto fashionable, pseudo religious “truths”.
Cavepainter: “You yet frame it as a valiant overcoming of one sex’s oppression of another.”
I frame it that way because I believe that to be the case.
“Your argument is a moral pitch for preserving your personal sense of piety against the ‘sins’ of past generations.”
Tell yourself that story if you want to.
Elrond, patriarchy in western culture has been way more kinder and gentler than any patriarchy that ever was or will be in the Muslim world. The two are not even comparable. Western patriarchy is paternalistic yes, but in the Islamic world seems to basically be chattel slavery. I think we can figure out which one is more evolved.
Yes, and? Patriarchy versus Patriarchy Lite (TM) is not a taste test I choose to participate in. I’ll take equality both times, thanks.
I guess you never heard of the Biden Rule…
P., Esq.,
Since when does the hard right pile of Republican adhere to Democrat rules?
JDH
Read it again, Sparky. I mentioned that it was Biden who first came up with it. Go ahead; we’ll wait for you to catch up.
L Ron or Scientologist or whatever you are,
I did read it correctly. I reiterate, since when does the Hard Right obey Dem rules? Are you suggesting we can set certain rules now that your gang will obey? Happy days are here!
JDH
My response was aimed at pyrrhus (and I’m not a Democrat; wouldn’t be even if I were a U.S. voter). No worries.
Elrond,
My apologies. I won’t hold not being a Dem agin you. Would you be a Repug if you could be one?
JDH
Nope, I am a member of the Green Party of Canada and likely would be a Green in the USA as well.
Nowadays women are deciding for themselves that instead of ‘putting their big girl panties on’ (i.e., putting up with being preyed upon and getting over it), they’re going to clear a space around them where they actually don’t get preyed upon. Elrond.
Good luck with that. Last year I was stalked at work. This year I was sexually harassed. I attribute this inappropriate male sexual behavior to early dementia!
Frankly, I don’t think CERTAIN men are capable of changing, because 99% of men are well behaved in social environments. So it looks like the big girl panties will have to do.
Elrond – I understand that, as of late, biology is not a “thing” anymore to the Left. But when elk stop going into rut, and elephants stop going into musth, teenage horndogs will simmer down. As much as the Left detest it, biology really is a thing.
Challenging & changing the way people think about sex, may be a fool’s errand. But not surprising for the Left – fool’s errands seem to be their pastime these days.
RA
I differ from much of the left in that I take the biology of human behaviour very seriously. But all of our capabilities as human beings are based in some sense on our biology, not just our sexual proclivities. So playing the biology card isn’t as powerful as you might think. It’s a long and complex road from biology to behaviour.
Our brains have frontal lobes, that enable us to plan for the future and take account of the consequences of our actions. That’s a fact just as real as anything else. As a species, we’re just bursting with possibilities. We can, and should, continue to develop the ones that protect young men from moral injury as well as young women from physical and emotional injury.
Not sure I completely agree, but your points are valid, and well taken. Thanks.
>>> She didn’t add any validating evidence to her story, but she appeared sincere…
She didn’t strike me as sincere.
Here’s Ford crying.
Here’s Ford minutes later enjoying her 15 minutes of fame.
She unequivocally lied about her fear of flying. The entire committee delayed the hearing for three days to allow her handlers to drive her to DC—prepping her along the way. Subsequently, we learned she flies all over the place. She even flew for her fake polygraph.
Ex,
Sure, she just wanted to do all this for shits and grins or fame and fortune, right. No, an unwitting pawn of the evil Ds, yeah that’s it.
“She unequivocally lied about her fear of flying.”
What a simpleton. People do face their fears, many people fear public speaking, but they do GET UP and do it, even though they are terrified and shaking. It DOES NOT mean the somehow the fear suddenly evaporated.
Please try not to be SO blind.
JDH
LOL so she could “face her fears” for a trip across oceans to Bali, for a trip to take her fake polygraph, but not for a trip to DC?
FAIL!
Keep spinning but facts are facts. She was caught lying. It speaks directly to her credibility on all other issues.
No. I’m pretty sure that she stated she’d flown into DC for the hearing…
Yes she did, but that was after she claimed she couldn’t and demanded a delay to give her time to drive across country.
Oh come on, she’s a Heroine now. Talk shows, book deals, speaking engagements – the works. She risked little or nothing and has gained All in a personal sense.
Idiot, she flew to Bali and Hawaii to go surfing, a vacation…Ask the Wizard for a brain.
And hilariously, this Stanford PhD, CIA recruiter on campus, and consultant to Big Pharma, has been coached to talk like a little girl on the witness stand…
Hey Ex, the other day you were all about “Kavanaugh should only be judged based on evidence”. Where’s your evidence for these handlers you mention? Link, please.
>>> Hey Ex, the other day you were all about “Kavanaugh should only be judged based on evidence”
Here’s what I said: “What we expect—Elrond—is for serious allegations to be adjudicated in a court of law with witnesses and evidence.”
The only evidence thus far is a contemporaneous calendar that—among other things—lists social events that Kav attended. Ford’s alleged event is nowhere to be found.
Here’s the calendar. This is what evidence looks like, Elrond. Go check it out.
Ford, meanwhile, has offered no evidence whatsoever. Just her selective memory and a list of witnesses who all say it didn’t happen. This incudes Ford’s best friend.
The professional female prosecutor who questioned Ford said that, based on her questioning, she wouldn’t even try to prosecute Kav. There’s not even enough for a grand jury indictment, and that’s saying a lot, since it’s often said that a prosecutor could indict a ham sandwich if they wanted to.
Ex, do you consider your claim that Dr. Blasey Ford has handlers to be a ‘serious allegation’? Because that’s the evidence I asked for. Kindly re-read my post and satisfy yourself on this point.
Don’t serve up red herrings. You are painting her testimony as politically motivated while presenting no evidence to back up this claim. You should either do so, or else revise/retract your comment about handlers.
Of course she has handlers. Of course it’s political. She admitted it at the hearing…
MITCHELL: Why did you contact the Washington Post, then, on July 6th?
FORD: So, I was panicking because I knew the timeline was short for the decision
FORD: On July 6, 2018, I had a sense of urgency to relay the information to the Senate and the President as soon as possible before a nominee was selected.
It was all about stopping Kav’s confrimation. Period. She didn’t go to any law enforcement like an actual assault victim would. Not 30+ years ago, not 20+ years ago, not 10+ years ago, not 2 years ago when she lied and said she mentioned Kav when her therapy session notes say otherwise.
MITCHELL: OK. Why did you decide to take a polygraph?
FORD: I — I didn’t see any reason not to do it.
MITCHELL: Were you advised to do that?
Bromwich objects again on the basis of privileged communications. Grassley instructs Ford to answer to the extent which would not violate privilege.
FORD: Based on the advice of the counsel, I was happy to undergo the polygraph test, although I found it extremely stressful, much longer than I anticipated. I told my whole life story, I felt like, but I endured it. It was fine.
MITCHELL: OK. You went to see a gentleman by the name of Jeremiah Hanafin to serve as the polygrapher. Did anyone advise you on that choice?
FORD: Yes, I believe his name was Jerry.
MITCHELL: Jerry Hanafin.
FORD: Yeah.
MITCHELL: OK. Did anyone advise you on that choice?
FORD: I don’t understand the — the — yeah, I didn’t choose him myself. He was the person that came to do the polygraph test.
When asked why she took a polygraph, she first tried to hide the fact that she was advised to. When asked who paid or would pay for her fake polygraph, she didn’t know. When asked who would pay for her attornies, she said she didn’t know, but she was aware of gofundme accounts. And who set up those? Not her.
She has not one but two lead attorneys. One of them was recommended by Senator Feinstein who opposes the confirmation. She has a security detail. Access to her is controlled. You wanna keep arguing that she’s not being handled and it’s not political?
Ex: “It was all about stopping Kav’s confrimation. Period.”
I misspoke slightly when I said “politically motivated”, since my main point all along has been that I think Dr. Blasey Ford came forward of her own volition. This was not a political setup by the political left, as the word ‘handlers’ insinuates. For more on the timeline, see my post above.
>>> my main point all along has been that I think Dr. Blasey Ford came forward of her own volition.
She did indeed come forward, privately, in confidence, 30+ years after the alleged incident, to see if she could stop Kav’s confirmation with no consequences to herself.
But she didn’t come forward publically of her own volition until Team Blue leaked her allegation. She’s not in control. She’s not calling the shots. She is being handled, both figuratively and literally, as the pawn that she is.
Evidence of what, exactly, is that calendar? Lots of ‘party’ references…Mark Judge is also referenced.
Gee, you say he didn’t write in that he’d tried to take advantage of a 15 year old anywhere? Case closed!
The evidence is Blasie Ford’s cosmetic makeover and completely unnatural way of talking like a retarded 7 year old on the witness stand, evidently to elicit sympathy. Oh, and the GoFundMe in her name that has already collected half a million in bribes…err, “contributions.”
“She didn’t strike me as sincere.
Here’s Ford crying.
Here’s Ford minutes later enjoying her 15 minutes of fame.”

This (event) is one of the first shots fired in an unfolding Civil War as the US slides ever closer to collapse. I think the collapse first started with Bill Clinton repealing Glass-Steagall and sneaking out of the Presidency as a blatant sex pervert aided and abetted by his complicit and disgusting wife. Citizens United, unabashed Union busting, voting in another disgusting sex pervert in 2016 who exists solely because he fans the flames and continues to do so. Now this farce, and others too numerous to list.
Just think how different everything would be if Trump had nominated someone in the middle? Not the left, not the right, but someone who is not an entitled ‘cry in public’ right wing shoo in who now publicly threatens, “What comes around goes around”. Trump hopes to use this conflict to get re-elected.
When I witnessed the lady lambasting little spineless “we are all humans” Jeff Flake in the elevator this morning, I could only think, “Oh oh”. “Uh oh”. As the midterms loom and are sure to burn the divide even brighter, look for violence. Perhaps the only saving force might be a stock market collapse before November, but that would only bring forth more violence. Trump now owns the process, and the Republican party. The only sure things are his disgusting personality and behaviours, his bankrupticies, con jobs, bad hair, and blatant lying. This could wipe out the Republican Party, while leaving the population a divided writhing mess. It is already destroying the US.
If Ford had cried and yelled in her opening statement like BK we would not have any discussion. She, and her story would have been dismissed. BK slips into the crack, into the darkness, as a tool of trump…and as a symptom of collapse. Double entendres, intended.
Collapse is not pretty. I think on Tuesday’s vote BK will narrowly lose, but it is too close to call. And the war will continue.
Exactly. 🙂
>>> Just think how different everything would be if Trump had nominated someone in the middle?
Oh you mean like Obama did when it was his prerogative? You mean like Affirmative-Action-loving Sonia Sotomayor? Who not only admitted that she was a beneficiary of AA, but then refused to recuse herself when AA cases came to the court?
SCOTUS has adopted Kavanaugh’s position thirteen times while reversing his position only once. So if he’s “right wing” then so is the Supreme Court itself. And I don’t hear liberals claiming that. On the contrary, last I heard, liberals are trying to preserve the “moderate” court—the moderate court that agreed with Kav 13 out of 14 times.
And in the case of Obamacare, Kavanaugh was right and SCOTUS was wrong…IF, despite the Government’s own testimony, it was a tax, then it was an unConstitutional direct tax.
Paulo,
Excellent observations on where “this shit” is leading.
…And yet there are those here that would welcome an actual Civil War, part II!
There is also a devolution in consequential thinking here that should be a loud and clear warning of impending violence against “wrong thinking” persons.
>>> And yet there are those here that would welcome an actual Civil War, part II!
Senator Lindsey Graham with a rifle I can imagine; Senator Mazie Hirono with a rifle I cannot.
I’ll take whatever side Texas is on.
I thought male feminists like you wanted men to be sensitive and able to cry. Yet here you are defending traditional stiff lip masculinity. Shame on you for your double morality.
Last time almost all the violence was on your side and against Trump supporters. But of course you’re fine with your side being violent. More hypocrisy.
The point of this social movement is not to hurl bitter accusations about rape and rape culture in all directions; it’s to challenge, and possibly change, the way people think about sex and consent.
The point is to recall what was in that respect customary in the Viking Civilization, part of which Anglos Saxons were at some point of history.
For Salic Franks, violence against women of the defeated was considered to be a mandatory and almost a major part of the victory, but the cornerstone myth of the Viking epic was the story of a woman who killed a Viking who tried to rape her, but his comrades, instead of seeking revenge, rewarded her with the assets of the murdered man for her courage.
This was due to the fact that the main god of the Viking pantheon was Odin, who was considered the god of love and even sex, and the terrible murderers and thieves Vikings considered the violence against the woman an insult to Odin, in contrast to the Salic Francs who worshiped the god of war, Thor, and Odin they did not connect with sexual relationships.
It’s the same hysteria of the Salem witch hunts, Russia of the 1930s during the Stalinist purges, and — in the US — during the McCarthy hearings. In all cases hysterical reflex #me-too behavior emerges wherein motivation to avoid suspicion toward oneself become expressed by conscious false witness against others as not being piously aligned with doctrinal belief.
Russia of the 1930s during the Stalinist purges, and — in the US — during the McCarthy hearings
“Stalinist purges” were directed against the enemies of the Russian people, which America will soon engage in herself if she wants to survive, while McCarthy “hearings” were openly anti-Semitic, directed against the jews in Hollywood and the State Department.
Those Jews were communists.
The Rosenbergs were helping kill GIs.
THATS FACTS.
The hysteria was against Senator McCarthy who was right about just about everything he said. And it continues even now as per your post. If we had honored this man and followed his directives, the wound would have been lanced while much smaller.
Why submit to such a spectacle? $$$$$$$$$!
Seriously people, if you really that believe Christine Ford was credible, watch this, and see if you can still say that you believe her with a straight face. It is well worth the investment of your time. Plus, it is pretty funny to watch Christine pop in and out of different personality poses and voices, particularly the
” “I am just a widdle fibe year old girl, sooo pwease don’t be mean to me, OK???” act.
and, the “pretty pose”.

This nomination business is like watching two narcissistic sociopaths strangle each other while the floodwater of entropy slowly laps over their heads.
Not a “fog” of bad faith but indeed a stench-laden mist. Like the malevolent effluent something that belches forth from smokestacks of disintegrating steel or lumber mills. A rotten-corpse stench which reaches to high-heaven.
No Lysol, ammonia or bleach can cover it. It seeps through even the most vacuum sealed containment mediums: TeeVee screens, the radio’s speaker, even dripping from the printed words on a page.
A stench mostly provided from two legacy political parties who have us still at war in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia, among other global shitholes; parties who sold the mighty industrial base of America to the lowest overseas bidders; and surrendered all independence for a long nuzzle and suck on the ample bosoms of Wall Street, K Street, and exotic foreign partners.
Their pawns, Judge Kavanaugh and Professor Ford, do as they must in the production of the mist to ensure continuity of disservice.
Such retch-inducing redolence can only be cleared by a whirlwind which, as many here at CFN know, is somewhere just over the visual horizon.
I didn’t like either one of the Country Club Kids. I think they’re both full of B.S. I mean, Chrissie, it’s called dry humping and groping–a lot of teenagers engage in that kind of behavior, Girlfriend. And teenage boys are goons, didn’t anyone ever tell you that? You were out of your league at that party (if the party actually took place, that is) and you should have stayed at home listening to your Barry Manilow records. Lesson learned. Kind of interesting, too, that Ford could not remember who drove her either to or from the little get-together. I realize that it’s difficult to remember every single detail of an event, but surely you would remember leaving the scene and whom you were with. I mean, c’mon. And that off, childlike voice of hers. She has a PhD, right? Hard to believe she passed her orals.

JDH and others above prove Mr. Kunstler is brilliant once again. JDH swoops in to say that Christine Blasey Ford is super credible and needs to be not only believed but vindicated. Then when women on this blog question his opinion he basically calls them sluts. Typical behavior that has been done to independent thinking women in this country for years by the Progs. YOUR TIME IS UP!!!!!
Oh bullshit. Might be time for “independent thinking women” to grow up now and actually start thinking for a change, don’t ya think?
I think you need to realize how hypocritical you are. Then let’s get back together for discussion :-).
OK, I think you confused me there with your little back and forth scenario. My bad.
LOL busted
I’m old and confused now – look away! I’m… hideous!

Exactly right! Democrats do a ton of “projecting.” They accuse others of having the same thoughts that they do. For example, they have a low opinion of blacks, so they project that everybody else must have the same thoughts and beliefs they do.

You should be surprised. I was being tame. I wanted to call her an effing lying cunt, but I wasn’t sure “cunt” would make it past moderation.

DarkStar,
No, it’s daddy who has the problems with his little hands all over his princess. That is not right.

Once again JDH you hover over me. Next thing I know you will be getting on top of me :-). Is it because I am bringing your lies out of you. You wish he did. In fact women have thrown themselves at him. Probably a lot of liberal women lol. You want to be right but I can’t give it to you yet.
Spot on once again today Jim! Ain’t it amazing at how it easy it is to distract Americans with this kind of non-sense – as epitomized by the first comment this morning – in lieu of actual substance? The Demflakes have more than enough ammunition to reject Kavanaugh based on substantive issues alone, but instead they sink to this kind of juvenile shit. The bitch Blasey Ford should be sued for libel and slander and prosecuted for making false statements to government officials if nothing legally actionable comes from all this.
OS,
Your little devil icon is so appropriate. You wear it well. Not much of a church-goer I suspect?

Your suspicion is correct in this case.

Even the devil has to have his standards!
Let us take the emotional BS out of the discussion. This country is based on the dictatorship of due process. He said, she said situations are difficult to pursue because single accusers without corroboration cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt that an incident happened. #metoo is trying to make an exception to due process, because if someone is female telling a story, she is exempt from having to convince a jury that the case is proven. Brave women have to subject themselves to often embarrassing procedures to prove rape but with today’s DNA procedures, proof happens and perps are IDed. Groping is different, no residual. Women must protect themselves from improper behavior, which will happen, by conservative dress, and not going to places for their excitement purposes. If you do not want to play, stay out of the playground. Women will rebel at this, “I should be able to go and do what I want”, to which I say, go right ahead, you are on your own. If something untoward happens, it is on your shoulders or you better have a credible couple of witnesses to corroborate your story. What ever happened to women traveling in pairs or triples to avoid some shenanigans, another victim of the feminization of the country. As the signs say, in dangerous country, travel at your own risk.
An old saying goes, you cannot legislate morality. The proper behavior of boys and men is set by their relationship with Mom and other females in their family and friends. Sometimes, respect does not take. It is up to women, with their reaction to these men, to protect themselves. When a woman has put herself in harm’s way, and the unfortunate happens, it is too late.
Prevention trumps correction.
John AZ you are so right on! I love how you bring back personal accountability and responsibility.
The problem is that women remain girls, sometimes for their entire lives, sometimes by design of their socialization, and sometimes by temperament.
At least your honest about your patriarchy – so I respect that. Now let me try to act like a grown up for the rest of the day. Jeeze I may need a man’s help.
JohnAZ: “What ever happened to women traveling in pairs or triples to avoid some shenanigans, another victim of the feminization of the country. As the signs say, in dangerous country, travel at your own risk.”
Your language is only slightly coded, but I think there’s value in rephrasing it as plainly as possible: “All women should live in some degree of fear at all times. If they are victimized somehow, it should be considered normal to blame them for someone else’s actions against them.”
Tragically, irrational victim-blaming is quite normal, and a very useful form of social control to boot. I can see why you like it, seeing how that kind of control works in your favour.
I watched the Clarence Thomas hearings way back when, and I have always been puzzled by something. Thomas was asked about his position on abortion, and he said he didn’t have one. Then he was asked if he had ever discussed abortion with anyone, and he said that he hadn’t done that. Then he was asked if he had ever even thought about abortion, and he said no, never even thought about it. A couple witnesses later, one of his law clerks was asked (by a Democrat, of course) if he knew Judge Thomas’s position on abortion, and he said Yes, he did. I remember thinking that this could be a real problem for Thomas. The senator was going to ask his next question, when Biden, the chairman of the committee, cut him off, and said we are not pursuing that question any more, or something to that effect, and moved things along. If the clerk actually knew Thomas’s opinion on abortion, that would have meant that he lied in his previous answers. I have always wondered over the years, why Biden cut off that line of questioning, since you would think that being a Democrat, he wouldn’t have stood in the way of that question. I’ll never know the answer to that, but it looked to me like Thomas was about to get caught in a lie, and thus disqualified. It will always be a mystery to me.
Ah, but Biden is also a Catholic.
I found yesterday’s hearing disturbing they reminded me of video I have watched on the McCarthy Communist hearings . With a side order of Mao’s cultural revolution.
America is at a cross roads . Do we want to be governed by the Lberial or Conservative Manifestos or the Rule of Law and what is left of the Constitutions?

Answer a question for me.
Why are Jewish voters so overwhelmingly Democratic? I would think that their conservative religious bases would lead them to conservative political viewpoints. .????
Do they? I’ll bet it’s even more highly dependent on economic/social class.
OS,
Scratch, look at the rabble the far right calls their base. You cannot possibly be impressed with that lot. Look who that rabble put into office. Please, let’s at very least, be reasonable about the facts.
JDH
“Rabble”, huh. Summed up neatly with one sweeping generality; no array of diverse motivations expressed in the election of Trump. Go one simpler, you know, racist, biggot, etc., etc. The likes of you are pushing this from low intensity civil war to……
Caveman,
I believe your moniker makes my point. Yes, cave rabble. As for the racists and bigots… if the shoe fits…
JDH
Hey now! Those rabble are my peeps! Yes, they’re dumbed down, propagandized, and traumatized from years and years of neglect from the government who’s supposed to at least minimally look out for their interests and a public/private kleptocracy that wants to steal everything they have and then slaughter them wholesale when they’re done with them, but they’re still the last glimmer of decency and hope remaining in a country that now unabashedly worships at the altar of the Almighty Dollar in lieu of any morally redeeming civic virtue whatsoever.
The facts are that given two nearly equally horrible choices, the American people did the rational thing and chose the least worst option in Trump. And given a do over, I think they’d choose him again, albeit likely in a landslide this time, as the crazed dems have proven themselves to be even more desperately psychotic than previously assumed.
OS,
Let us see in November as it will certainly be a referendum on the Trumptard. You may be right, if you are, I fear for the country even more than I do now. I do believe you are wrong however and I am quite certain our side will prevail this November and throw the bums out. But, we will see…
JDH
Yes, the People are lost without the love and guidance of the higher classes. But almost all of that goes to minorities now, and it shows. So the Elite will end up with Black and Brown feet, but those feet will crumble as in Ezekiel’s vision. You can bond different metals, but you cannot bond metal and clay.
Let’s just say the dems have not acquitted themselves admirably the past two years(nor the eight years before that!), which should have been like manna from heaven for them. My mom was right when she told me all those years ago that when putting your faith in the dems, you should always be aware that they’ll disappoint you/sell you out somewhere along the way. The old battleaxe wasn’t right about much in her life, but she really had that one pegged.
With their current hysterics it’s almost like they want Trump and the hardcore right to take full control, a possibility I find entirely plausible as well. But either way, the idea of the US as a going concern politically has long since been laid to rest. It’s all over but the actual fall now, as national pride has loooong since left the building.
May this expatriate [retired] American activist, sitting 11 time zones offshore, be so presumptuous as to predict a rather low voter turnout in November?
Republican voters = buyer’s remorse, thorough disillusionment, wondering where MAGA got off to.
Democratic voters = dismayed by the wealthy cynicism of the Party apparatchiks, haven’t forgotten Bernie, bewildered unto paralysis (as they struggle to get by).
Just a thought, amigos, one which should arouse some introspection in the minds of those with a vested interest in maintaining the system… but likely will not…
This contemptuous attitude is why the rabble expelled them from over 100 countries.
John,
That’s and easy one, man! The Jews are Democrats because they are exceedingly smart. Take a look at the Repuglican base and you get your answer. The lower your edumacation, the more likely you are to vote R. That is, my dear John, simply a fact.
JDH
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others?
Just another cat taking notes.Noth’in at all goin on my my little ‘ol noggin.
O,
Right… I guess…
JDH
What about the Blacks? They’re the dumbest and most Democrat. So you’re wrong!
Herr Skorenzy,
I was under the impression the American Black electorate tends to sit out elections.
Now when I root around a bit I find I am in error with that assumption, according to this very nifty website:
https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/democracy/reports/2017/11/01/441926/voter-trends-in-2016/
Because they’re rebels and the Leaders of the Grievance Coalition that wants to overthrow White America.
Remember Robert Bork? Remember Ted Kennedy’s hysterics over Bork’s nomination? Remember Merrick Garland?
Remember the statue of the blindfolded Lady Justice, Iustitia to the Romans? Justice is supposed to be blind and dispassionate, remember? But the current antics over this Kavanaugh nomination and Bork’s for that matter and Garland’s too puts the lie to that.
The underlying problem is that Congress doesn’t want to do its job. Congress wants the courts to do Congress’s job. It’s pathetic and preposterous, this resultant intrusion into the task of the legislator. It’s like Sotomayor said about courts, we don’t make policy, but we do.
Well, yeah, it’s pretty obvious, OF COURSE they make policy, and they LEGISLATE and they’re not shy about it. Which is what these nomination kerfuffles are all about.
You can argue legislators are abdicating their responsibilities so as to avoid voter wrath. Or because they haven’t got the intellectual wherewithal. Or whatever. The reason doesn’t really matter. If congress and other legislatures aren’t doing their jobs, it leaves a vacuum and the courts are filling it.
As far as the Blasey Ford thing goes, thirty six years after the alleged incident is no time to be making accusations. She can’t remember where or when it happened, people who she said were there say they weren’t. So what the fuck is anyone supposed to do with this? This is what happens with the passage of time. And it leads a lot of people to guess, with some justification, that these accusations are just a smear to up-end the nomination.
At this point Kavanaugh should get his appointment confirmed and this whole fucking fiasco ought to be a object lesson: the time to deal with a sexual assault is the day it happened. If not that exact day then the NEXT day. SOON, not decades later. Tell your parents, or tell your grandpa or grandma, or tell your hubby, or tell your boyfriend and GO TO THE COPS.
I followed you right up until that last part, Vol. At this point the whole Blasey Ford v Kavanaugh thing should get tossed and the proper debate should resume regarding Kavanaugh’s appointment. It’s telling that neither the D’s or the R’s are apparently interested in that discussion, don’t ya think? I think this has all been a very elaborate smoke screen thrown up for nefarious purposes that are still not clear.
If it’s a smoke screen, I’m not grokking it either. What’s the point? What nefarious shit is happening?
And yeah, you have a very good point, this whole thing OUGHT to be a debate about K’s merits as a judge or lack thereof. And yeah, another very good point, neither the D’s or R’s are interested in THAT discussion. So why not? It makes you wonder what’s about to burst out of its lair. If this is all a distraction, then it’s one that’s working marvelously. Kudos to the stage managers.
Give it time. The truth usually finds its way out sooner or later.
Justice’s blindfold actually makes it easier to perceive Kavanaugh’s deceitful tears and unconcealable entitlement.
Justice, alas, isn’t real, it’s ideal.
Instead we’ll have craven sermonizers like Lindsey Graham flogging this thing for every political point he can make for his base.
For many, the election of Trump was like a date rape, but Kavanaugh is the intractable case of Herpes for the rest of your life to remind you of it.
For many, the election of Trump was like a date rape, but Kavanaugh is the intractable case of Herpes for the rest of your life to remind you of it.

Li’l Deb,
So well put! Bravo!
JDH
That was the finest moment in his misbegotten life, perhaps the only fine moment.
Sorry, volodya, but while telling your parents and the cops is necessary, and ought to be sufficient, it just isn’t. I posted this article the other day and I urge everyone to read it:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2018/opinions/arlington-texas/
Long story short, this high school student told her parents the same night and the cops the next day. She gave a full account and allowed samples to be taken, which matched at least one of the classmates she named. There was no prosecution, *and* she was targeted by a hate campaign that forced her to change schools.
To be sufficient, any response has to be able to make a difference in a situation like that one. Wagging fingers and saying “go to the police” clearly doesn’t cut it even when she’s still 17 years old, not only 36 years later.
From the linked article:
“Wyatt was disoriented and confused, Aven recalled in his statement. She even misidentified one of the two boys she said assaulted her — the football player — instead naming a third boy who had been at the party as one of the perpetrators.”
Even when the response is right after something happens, there can be mistaken identity. Let alone decades later.
Law enforcement is imperfect. What really gets me, though, and what needs to be the focus of attention, is the hate campaign at her school.
Imagine reporting an attempted rape against you, then seeing FAITH graffitied around your school knowing that it means “F**k Amber in the head” or “F**k Amber in three holes”. it was a bandwagon — people went along with it having no idea of what happened or of who she was, really. They did that, because this is what people are like. It’s been going on in this comments section for a couple weeks, surely (and always going on here, at a low level).
People are crooked timber. But we can at least try to keep one another straight.
The unjust things that happened to this girl are what you Elrond would like to be the focus of attention. Admittedly, she didn’t deserve any of that.
But in the larger context of this thread, it’s fitting to mention that right after the assault, she initially failed to identify one of her assailants. Right after the assault. See how easy it is to get it wrong?
Yet this concocted accusation decades after the fact, without any corroborating evidence or witnesses is supposed to be taken seriously? You can’t see why it’s greeted with skepticism by a great many non-partisan observers?
Skepticism is in order, surely, and there can never really be proof in the case of Kavanaugh and Blasey Ford; only her word against his. But empathy is also in order, I think. And I think you see what I mean, since you concur that she (Amber from the WaPo story) didn’t deserve what happened to her.
There is, and always has been, an undercurrent of women keeping silent about what they all experience. And these kinds of consequences are a big part of the reason for the silence. The #MeToo movement is about opening that wound for all to see at long last, and refusing to be silent anymore. Yes, that’s affecting the Kavanaugh nomination, but if not now, when? There’s never a ‘good’ time to flip over painful rocks, is three?
‘It’s Chinatown, Jake. Sorry, I mean ‘It’s Texas, Jake.’
So with this example are you suggesting she wait a few decades until her memory becomes clearer?
Judging by the twitter, Russia’s big foe Lindsay Graham was tearing and shredding Democrats in Senate in support of Kavanaugh. Also in support of Kavanaugh was Senator Bob Corker, who is also not Russia’s greatest friend.
The anti-Russian republican consensus in the Senate was finally formed, solidifying around Trump.
The republican anti-Russian consensus will finally push out the democratic anti-Russian consensus.
After the appointment of Kavanaugh, the activities of the Mueller Commission will have lost any meaning.
In addition, the Republican establishment writes that after 8 hours of hearings in the Kavanaugh case, zero evidence is provided. Such a noisy base of democrats can definitely cost them the Capitol.
In the twitter, all Republicans celebrate the victory. Many say that Democrats are pure evil, and their current loss will cost them seats in Congress and the Senate. Many write that the number of supporters of the Republicans, due to the losing tactics of the Democrats at the hearings, has grown dramatically.
One of the interesting posts:
Quote
I just met seven different liberal friends of mine. It’s incredible! They all decided to leave the Democratic Party because of the hearing of Judge Kavanaugh. They say that they have never before seen how democrats destroy people’s lives and after that they happily discuss it on national TV. Each of them said that they were shocked by the hearings and insidious behavior of Feinstein and her chain dogs. They were noticeably preoccupied and furious. Democrats just shit their pants. Red tsunami. Hello, judge K!
And yes. Bookmaker offices give 81% for the election of Judge Kavanaugh, although only 7 hours ago did not give 35%.
And here are the latest insider news on the net. Apparently all Republicans will vote for Kavanaugh, and several Democrats will also switch to his support, which means that Kavanaugh has enough votes to elect.
If this happens, then it seems that the Democrats will begin to lose influence and this will strengthen Trump.
That will be quite the ironic twist, Finc. And I think you’re right on all counts here. This affair does at least indirectly shine an unflattering light on the whole Mueller witch hunt as well, at least in the minds of Trump supporters and/or HRC haters.
Hey, just heard a good suggestion. Let us take the socialist tending college crowd to join the Peace Corps in places like Venezuela and have to stay there for a couple of years. Led by their professors!
John,
Hey now; some professors actually know how to shoot.
JDH
Having been a working musician for many years, I’ve witnessed more sex on the modern dancefloor than anything described by Ms.Ford. And BTW, since when does the FBI investigate non-federal crime? For the record, I’m am an evil white man, obviously full of murderous, hateful ,spiteful things to all creatures big and small. When I was 12 I also groped 14 year old Susie Post , and was only thwarted by the complexity of her bra. Billy Thompson,my best buddy who was 15, reportedly made it all the way to third. I think he went on to become the local dog catcher. Billy, love ya man ,but when the FBI comes snooping around I’m gonna flip faster than a Mcburger in a robo diner.
Mrs. Post told me in confidence THAT was the reason she chose that particular iron-clad bra.
Just sayin’.
Awesome. Please run for local judge so we can get all the details!
Rather than praising Ms. Ford as some sort of Super Patriot, her experience should be held up as an example of what happens when “sexual assault” is not reported in a timely manner This is a national conversation we’ve been having since the 1970s. So, here we go, once again. LADIES (and Gentlemen): If you are sexually assaulted, you NEED TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. Rape is crime of violence (we have been talking about this since the 1970s). There is no shame in being raped or attacked (we have been talking about this since the 1970s). HAVE THE INCIDENT REPORTED—telling another human being is not enough, that is hearsay. Get DOCUMENTATION. Report the incident to the police. If you fear retribution, which is totally understandable, at least get a sworn attestation notarized! And save the attestation in a safe place. A notary will charge you a whopping $10 or $15. The documentation can be used in a court of law. You have a responsibility to report the jerk who rapes or attacks you because the jerk might do it again to someone else. Be responsible….RESPOND.
You have a responsibility to report the jerk who rapes or attacks you because the jerk might do it again to someone else. Be responsible….KK
Best point yet.
See my post above. Here’s the link again:

Kindly refer to report from Arlington, Texas, above.
The current Trump project of fouling the Supreme Court for the foreseeable future is steaming along. Now we shall have an entitled frat-boy to go along with such luminaries as Clarence HeWhoNeverSpeaks Thomas and the dull-normal Alito.
Doesn’t really matter much – the US is bankrupt by any sensible measure and it stands to get much worse. It is in the end game now.
LOL, Winning! I predict Kavanaugh will be approved. Not only that, but Trump will have another SC pick, and they, also, will be approved. And that will happen after an even bigger demonrat spectacle!
You >>>> more whining LOL!
Wow, if the American public cared half this much about starting endless wars for profit in foreign lands and sending their children off to fight and die in such profitable ventures, perhaps the country would not now be spiraling down the shithole.
Of course if you consider the amount of time and value that they place on pornography and penis related events, I suppose that caring about actual issues is not something that seems to be important anymore. It is all about “feelings”.
I apologize, it’s not just penises, breasts are apparently just as important:
https://www.rt.com/usa/439804-alyssa-milano-dress-kavanaugh/
Feelings, nothing more than feelings….
I want to see Alyssa’s tits. Don’t you? If she showed up naked it would be the biggest thing on the internet.
Wow! She’s is not aging well AT ALL! I think I’d keep those things under wraps if I were her.
No, I am sorry, I do not. I understand that for some strange reason (initial programming I suppose) we men are unavoidably attracted to breasts, and 99 out of 100 men stop in midsentence and stare when a pair come into view regardless of where and what is being done or discussed. I cannot explain why it is for after all, if you removed the nipples and lowered them 9 to 12 inches they would become little beer bellies and I doubt that they would attract much attention at all.
I can cut the young men out there a lot more slack than I can for those of us that have been around long enough to have supposedly “matured”, grew up, or evolved to a level where we were more respectable men than rabid dogs. But perhaps I ask for too much. Yes, I have spent my time enjoying the beauty and joy of sexual attraction and activity, but I have also gotten more than my share of beat downs at the hands of the ladies. There may not be many men out there than have any degree of control anymore, but I assure you, I have found the freedom in not caring to be far more exhilarating than being dominated by physical features or creature than cannot control itself, much less control me.
I was joking.
About breasts: My old man said it best: “You seen one, you’ve seen em both
Cicero and other classical writers talked similarly, of the joys of Old Age in a life well lived, where all the passions have fled. The sunset of such a life is glorious, but more so is the hidden sunrise of Eternity that only the elder can see.
Indeed Janos, well said. Though not ALL passions have left me. I am quite the force of nature with the Three Stooges (Committeemen) that hold power right now in our Township. I battle them with tooth, nail, blood and guts and I love it, especially now that they are on the ropes! There is nothing like a fight between what is right and those that seek self aggrandizement. Quite exhilarating.
I agree with anyone who is in favor of taking sexual misconduct out of any present or subsequent debate regarding someone’s official qualifications. Unless they are a convicted sex offender or there are pending official complaints this kind of debate has no intrinsic meaning or value and can therefore go on ad infinitude.
It certainly has no more value in judging character than any other criteria that is not popularly used, e.g., acquiring wealth, nose picking, or crossdressing, to name a few.
Basically all these distractions are ubiquitously used by the MSM!
Leave it to Ol’ Walter B to get this discussion back on track. Good work Walter!
Both sides of this farce are a total disgrace:
On Ford’s side, now that she has over $750,000 in her GoFundMe payoff – sorry, “funds for her security” – she can take her non-existent evidence and whining and go back to a life of luxury. Those Holton Arms princesses have it rough.
On Kavanaugh’s side, yeah it was all BS against him, but he’s a 100% pure swamp creature. His wife was the PERSONAL secretary for Baby Bush. Personal secretary! And he was a White House counsel during Bush’s time – that’s how these two hooked up. That wife was neck deep in the perversion and filth of the Iraqi war planning, the Patriot Act, and all the other perversions of Bush and Cheney. All this Catholic do-goodery is a fucking show. How much under-the-table cash does she have stashed away from her insider dealings?
Kavanaugh will throw a few bones to the social conservatives once he’s in, but then he’ll be like all the other justices: toe the corporate line, allow the police / surveillance state to keep expanding, and keep trashing what’s left of the biosphere.
I’m supposed to care about either of these assholes, ford or kavanaugh? That’s the binary question? You can’t look outside that and see the whole thing is a spectacle for spectacle’s sake?
I’m not so sure it was BS. Excessive anger in this situation could be a case of ‘Methinks doth protest too much’. Not that it matters because the impossible to prove allegation should never have made it to the Senate floor.
Nice moniker, sort of. Do you smell like a human when you get wet? I do.
You could tell as the questioning went on his contrite angry demeanor slipped a few times revealing the naked entitlement and obvious relief in seeing that his Deny, deny, deny strategy was working exactly as predicted.
There was some beautiful method acting going on. He really achieve some great emotional channeling. Shakespearean performance, not quite. But passable at the local theatre level.
Yup, pretty much echoes my thoughts on this. What you have in the United States is the worst of both worlds. Neither a Representative Republic, nor a Democracy. Really what you have here is Vatican/CIA Fascism, with a big superimposed MSM propaganda smile for the ignorant imbeciles working in the various tech industries.
And what of the criminals who founded the State of Israel? More Vatican?
Maybe them criminals be Sainted by the Vatican like so many of your pederast nazi compadres.
Where are you getting $750,000? There is a GoFundMe:
https://ca.gofundme.com/help-christine-blasey-ford
… but as I write this at 2:22 PM Eastern, it’s only closing in on $500,000 (out of a $150,000 goal). Nonetheless, she sure has a lot of supporters.
Last night the Jesuits withdrew their support for Kavanaugh.
This morning the ABA said to wait and do an investigation.
Kavanaugh is a stone cold loser for us all. He’s so hopelessly partisan as to be useless as an unbiased juror deciding national cases on merit and constitutionality. He’ll just vote the GOP party line of behalf of big money. He’s unfit for even his current job and should be sent home so mommy can wipe him.
I suspect the GOP whores will rush this through anyway. They will destroy our nation to appease evango-fascist lust to overturn Roe.
Kavanaugh is just another entitled establishment elite silver-spoon Ivy League pretty boy pre-ordained to the heights who couldn’t get laid in a bordello or find a girl to like him. When this spoiled brat couldn’t have his way and got called out by Dr. Ford he cried before congress like the wuss that he is. Like Trump, he plays the victim card, oh poor pitiful me.
Trump, Kavanaugh and today’s GOP can go take a crap and let the hogs eat them.
He’ll just vote the GOP party line of behalf of big money. He’s unfit for even his current job and should be sent home so mommy can wipe him.
So? That is exactly what a ‘majority’ might actually want. Your outrage is a legend in your own mind. If wishes were horses you would ride.
K,
If, if and buts were candies and nuts, everyday would be Christmas. So what?
JDH
>>> He’s so hopelessly partisan…
>>> Kavanaugh is just another entitled establishment elite silver-spoon Ivy League pretty boy
And that, my forum homies, is what we call shooting yourself in the foot.
FAIL!
LOL they need more target practice.
Ex,
FAIL? Please try to keep-up!
JDH
Yes, Jesuits believe in withdrawal. Being an educated class they realize that a stable well planned family is far more important then spilling one’s seed on the ground.
Kavanaugh’s All-American sheen is truly revolting. These are the elites, folks. A fact that should give everyone pause after watching that whiny little mutt.
As expected from an entitled little prick like Kavanaugh, he gave the air that everyone was trying to take away HIS seat on the Court. That is the way these frat-boys look at things.
Of course with the Shithead in Chief bringing forth the nominations, if not Kavanaugh, then maybe someone worse? What a fucking goat-rodeo.
Logically, there are only two deductions one can make in the light of the current show-trial of Kavanaugh. Either 1. Ford is lying for gain or because of some psychiatric condition, or 2. The FBI and the other apparatus used to vet judicial candidates are flagrantly incompetent. Kavanaugh has been investigated by the FBI several times already. I believe he is currently a sitting judge in a very important court.
Behold; I am become Finca, destroyer of Clinton-worlds!
Weird.
Kavanaugh will most likely be seated on his well-credentialed seat. He’s carried countless buckets of water for the right people at the right time. He’s “earned” it; it’s “his turn”.
BUT, if he’s not, some other cynically chosen character of the same “principles” will be ushered in. It’s quite clearly a brightening day for the corporate grifters and a snickering sop to the evangelical voting bloc of delusional non-thinkers.
Now we must ask ourselves what kind of court system we want in this country… who do we want punished and why. What kind of resources are we willing to commit in order to mete out that punishment?
Think very carefully before you answer, because it will determine whether you engage or disengage with institutions of fading faith and trust that you have no power over whatsoever. Secondly, how much anxiety/paranoia and cognitive dissonance are you willing to endure in the face of a legally tightening noose?
Proponents of the Uber-State are everywhere and becoming more numerous and consensus is rapidly being manufactured and agreed to. (Especially on this blog space. Blabberings for constraining rights and freedoms abound, as well as gleeful calls for deadly violence…. just as long as “my” preferred principles take precedence. Those would be the principles that enhance the power and reach of the Uber-State. Beware.)
“who do we want punished and why. What kind of resources are we willing to commit in order to mete out that punishment?” : Ozone
That’s the thing. Some of the more glittering publications are starting to see the light. Just starting. Because they’re saying that the Trump phenom and a lot of the “populism” we see here and there, are push-back from the egregious failures of the US and other national justice systems to do what had to be done in the wake of the 2008 collapse.
What happened? The malefactors, the ones committing stupendous, country-wrecking frauds, got off scot-free, that’s what. Too big to jail in Holder’s infamous estimation. And, not only that but they got rescued. And in some cases, like in the case of AIG, got massive bonuses.
And everyone else? Tens of millions got fucked out of work and income and houses and wealth and pensions, their prospects going bye-bye.
Two systems of justice IOW, three if you count the ludicrous miscarriages involving Blacks. If you’re black and smell a bit iffy and you’re anywhere near a serious crime, you get picked up.
Or even if you’re not. Who was that big fat Black guy that was hustling smokes? Why did he die? Not because he was doing damage to the economy and the social fabric, but because he wasn’t doing ENOUGH damage. If he’d been a White banker in a sharp ten thousand dollar suit, who was hawking financial garbage using the most laughably fraudulent and nonsensical selling shtick that no ten year old with an ounce of sense would believe, he’d get wined and dined and celebrated as the best and the brightest.
So, to the point, who do we want punished and why?
“Too big to jail in Holder’s infamous estimation.”
Never send a boy (or a girl) to do a man’s job. Same goes for Obama, wearing his Mom jeans trying to prove he was a regular guy, LOL. The banksters were always there for him, offering their support. They will always be there for any pol who is weak-willed, insecure, & needy. Do not elect black liberal politicians. They are always corrupt because they have to be. They will always be water-carriers for the nearest whip-hand..
Eric Garner.
Volodya, are you a carpenter? You hit the nail on the head.
There is an illustration in those words. One of the reasons flyover country is so well despised as idiotic by the likes of people such as George, is that the values on attack by the Clinton/Corporate Global / imperialistic war / are things that don’t have a place in cosmopolitan globalization. Love between individuals grown without root plucking, family and non-government oral tradition and values, rhythmic living, joy meditated outside high rates of consumption. Flyover are people rooted into material poverty and prior self sufficiency the moment the country was founded and grew into monopolies of slave holders, that the hoi polloi could not contend with. Just like now, Main Street can’t compete against Walmart and Google, Amazon.
The fading empire lacks even the certain decencies occasionally wrought of the colonial systems. Remember the story in 2015 in which the Pentagon spent $43 million to build a useless gas station in Afghanistan.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/11/02/pentagon-afghanistan-gas-station-boondoggle/75037032/
I see the physical sloth, obesity, white trash element everyday – while also daily witness to the kinder, deeper, personal sense of the people.
In the cosmopolitan centers there are the inspiring individuals and spirits for sure, but the general brew of those who have left to move to them seem to have done so because of a “rationalism” in their minds of being higher than the folks left behind. Or for a job or a passion, sure. The latter is a good thing.
In an age where every po dunk town has a library system and universities present and free parking – these that bound for the city seem to be more base (and emotional) than others who are not going anywhere. Therefore flyover can’t take the shocks as well and or more importantly instill the shocks outwardly as the digital cosmopolitan who dishes it out.
What I meant by every po dunk town with a library system and university, Culture-wise there is a lot of ability to live high on the hog. Better than the Greeks.
People, I think we’ll get there. I see good signs after all this inquisition, economic crash, energy adaptation, etc.
We’re witness to the foolish people and systems circling the drain. Being washed out by the Mississippi of the Collective Unconscious.
Note to all trolls, your postings this week are causing the scroll to grow at three times its normal rate.
Slow down, you will give yourself away. Someone might be paying attention.
And someone who knows enough about stochastic analysis would realize the odds of this happening all by itself is up there with one against the number of sand grains on a beach. Subtle proof to those educated enough to see it.
The troll is calling for all trolls. K-Dog you simply call any body who does not agree with you a troll. That way you make your opposition non human in your on mind. In the mean time we do enjoy living rent-free in your head :-P.
You’re a quick study. That’s exactly what he does.
😉
K,
25 sigma or so, you suggest?
JDH
Trolls? You are a troll.
Speaking of “fogs of bad faith,” Lindsey Graham claims that the Kav hearing was the most “unethical sham” since he has been in politics.
Not kids in cages? Not thousands without food and water in Puerto Rico? Not world leaders laughing at Trump at the UN? Not the tax cut for the super rich? Not the exploding US deficit that is 242 billion higher in 2018? Not the death of the planet and end of the human species?
Wow–Lindsey Graham has been under a rock.
world leaders laughing at Trump at the UN?
LET THEM LAUGH..haha.
The UN is World Government, and bad stuff that we finance.
world leaders = depots.
I will pass on your hallowed halls and world leaders.
I am so happy the UN laughed at Trump. It will convince Trump to spend American tax dollars on America instead of gifting it away to the world welfare club.
thank you…foreign aid scams.
Lindsey lives below the under-the-rock layer. Salamanders at least have legs. The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
No, Lindsey who has been a RINO forever, has finally noticed how screwed up everything is under the continuing domination of the Left and decided they are wrong, wrong, wrong. Notice that if you extrapolate where we were going with globalist leadership, Obama, that we would be Venezuela. Which is exactly what the Left wants.
I hope that the American people are intelligent enough to realize it is better to keep their money, instead of giving it to the government. All the Left wants now is restoring their power base and each goal achieved by Trump and the Right sends them into paroxysms of agony. Yay!
John,
You should say “I hope the American people are stupid enough to keep letting the rich take their money”! Now that’s the mantra of your boys on the Far Right. Come on now, get in the game; your betters NEED your/our cash!
JDH
YOU do not get it. The rich, the elite, are situated on both sides of the aisle. The Rothschild, Soros, Clinton contingent want to take your money and send it overseas. The Left wants your money to give to the Fed gov, the last place you should want it to go. I sure hope you do not buy the Leftist bull that they are protecting you from all those nasty Right siders. Give your money where you want, just remember you get nothing from the government and you get “stuff” from the private sector. What stuff? Well, things like oil, gas, high tech, cars, houses, you know inconsequential “stuff” like that
John,
True enough. Rich on both sides; nabobs all the way down. Agreed.
But at least the Ds don’t openly lobby for more Rich Boy (and Rich Girl) tax cuts at every turn. The cloth coat Repugs of years past were the party of fiscal restraint. You know, control the debt and all that, but since Cheney/Bush took over deficits and “the debt” do not matter, so crank on those tax cuts. Sure, it gives a sugar rush to the economy, but that shit is supposed to be paid back, not that it ever will be, but theoretically it is.
At least the Ds spread a bit of the wealth around Social Security / Medicare, etc. I don’t know about you John, but I sure as hell don’t want to forgo my SS so some rich prick can get a new paint job on his Gulfstream G650.
If you Trumpists want to pay for Trumptard and all his buddie’s “stuff,” could you just send in part of your pay checks and leave the rest of us out it? Please? And while we’re at it could the deep south please stop sucking the rest of the nations tax dollars? Really, it’s a bit disingenuous, you b@#$tards hate taxes more than the devil himself, but you sure as f@#k like to get your mitts on everyone else’s. If you want to live in shit holes have at it, but keep your f@#king hands off our tax dollars. What a bunch of mooches!
JDH
Uh, it would seem California does a pretty good job sucking the welfare dollars these days.
Hmmm, wonder why?
So, we live in a nation and society where a news network discusses the president’s penis for a segment and that is ok. Hmmmm…. It is disturbing for a couple of reasons. First, someone assumes that is newsworthy and second, that people care. The economy is slipping in the wrong direction regardless of the rah, rah from the White House. The big dudes are selling off and running for the hills. Meanwhile, Joe and Josephiine six pack are going to get laid off—again—and will lose their mobile home unless they are in NC where the mobile home went mobile down the river. I am sure these folks will hope that someone recorded the Senate deliberations for the SCOTUS job opening. Oh goodness please let a total collapse come. Thin the herd.
After watching yesterday’s Mexican firing squad, I am left with the fervent hope that kavanaugh is confirmed, and spends the next 30 years ripping those faux sanctimonious leftists a new asshole. If trump has any legacy at all, it will be that he put a major speed bump in the continuing leftist project to tear down what remains of the American portion of western civilization.
Oh, don’t worry a bit, that fucking imbecile will have his place in the history books – although not for the hilarious reasons you might think…
Kavenaugh’s unhinged blubbering performance in which he invoked a left-wing hit-job conspiracy as the reason for this latest accusation disqualifies him for the Supreme Court.
A very nervous, somewhat phobic inexperienced witness (Dr. Ford) came off a lot more in control of her emotions.
Not a good fit for the highest court in the land regardless of his ideology.
Me thinks he doth protest too much.
Ah yeah, Marcus1, there you’ve demonstrated you piety beyond doubt as un-guilty of apostate thoughts toward the doctrine of PC — now conducting its equivalent of Spanish Inquisition. Too, women folk can now be assured that you as a teenager never participated in locker room exchanges about tactical moves for “scoring”, never looked at Playboy “center folks”, never made jokes about female stereotypes,……never during puberty toyed with different stylized male identity roles. Hell no, you — being so elevated in social justice sensibilities are qualified to take on the role of Inquisitor.
Try to focus CP. You completely side-stepped the points I was making: An inexperienced professor kept her shit together better than the very experienced nominee for SC. The nominee invoked a left-wing conspiracy was the reason for Dr Ford coming forward, a very partisan accusation with no good evidence to back it up. That his protestations were overwrought shows a conflicted psychology going on in the man.
Focus? What,…not on qualifications but instead upon “allegations” unverifiable. Oh, damn; again I’m a “back slider” away from the “faith”.
Are you kidding? Those lovely Dems kept this under wraps since June, just waiting to spring this trap. The same old routine, dig up a BS artist, bait the other side then spring the trap. Dems are excellent at this game, much better than the GOP. If this situation hit a court in the Us, the judge would throw it out. We have to stop the poor little girl baloney that the Dems cultivate so well. Otherwise, there is no rule of law.
Put yourself in his shoes and walk a mile. Would you just sit there and take the line of BS that is being presented? If so, I feel sorry for you.
That’s funny, I didn’t start making jokes about female stereotypes until I hit my 30’s, upon realizing how true they actually were.
To me, the Kavanaugh affair is all an irrelevant distraction. When China and Russia finally get their alternative global currency standard in order, the thread on the sword of Damocles will break, and the US will be plunged into the greatest Depression history has ever known. It will not take much to dislodge us from the top dog position on the world’s pecking order.
Trump is really all about the end of the American Empire, whether he knows it or not. Just like the stopped clock that is right twice a day, his bumbling policies sometimes lead all of us closer to a peaceful end to the empire. It is the end of empire that should concern us, not the appointment, or not, of yet another elite player to an irrelevant position whose duration and influence are probably less than anyone realizes.
That’s the thing, the alternative global currency, if it comes about, IMO is an attempt to salvage something out of this total mess, the one where the US imports goods and instead of exporting goods in payment (this, after all, is what TRADE is supposed to be, TRADE) the US exports dollars, which the Fed conjures up out of nothing. Foreign trading partners, the ones on the other side of the transaction, are literally getting NOTHING in return for the goods they send, just Federal Reserve abracadabra.
The “empire” to be most concerned about, again in my humble opinion, isn’t so much the one constituted by nonsensical international trade arrangements, it’s the one that starts at the Atlantic coastline and goes to the Pacific coastline. In terms of land area it’s millions of square miles and in terms of population it’s hundreds of millions of people, and judging by the histrionics in Washington, and the dire condition of tens of millions of its citizens, I’d say that it’s THIS empire that shows end-stage illness.
Peaceful? Maybe. If wise and cool heads prevail. Big “if”.
aibohphobia and V.,
With the Dis-united States in a raging storm of howling insanity over what moral statutes gawd hath ordained, the rest of the world works on a non-explosive sanctions workaround.
A shot across the Evaporating Empires bow:
“While keeping SWIFT as is, for now, the EU’s foreign-policy head Federica Mogherini side by side with Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif announced a “special purpose vehicle” jointly, in English and Farsi, after a meeting at the U.N. of the parties still committed to the [Iran nuclear] deal—Iran, EU, U.K., France, Germany, Russia and China. In fact, everyone but the US.” 9/26/18
Since we can agree that the US’s hegemony (gun-boat diplomacy) sell-by date has expired, this could get very interesting.
The similarity of this situation to the recent TV show, Salvation, is striking. Politicians ignore the meteor of disaster bearing down on the USA to play power politics as if they were somehow going to survive the coming disaster ,when undealt with environmental and economic forces combine with extreme political division to destroy the country.
Who is on the Supreme Court would be of little importance if the Court had stuck with its assigned role of determining the Constitutionality of laws, rather than legislating new rights not in the Constitution, like abortion, and undermining those that are in it, like the Second Amendment.
Congress aided and abetted this by refusing to do it’s job of dealing with issues through legislation. In the same way they have abdicated many of their responsibilities to the Executive branch. Congress is the real culprit, along with political parties.
I have no patience with sexual attacks and harassment, however this affair has all the attributes of a political con job, aided by CIA on behalf of Hillary. Having said that, it is rather irrelevant. Any way it ends, it will only further the anger and division which will soon sunder the country. When the petrodollar collapses (to date we have attacked or embargoed every country that even suggested replacing it), people will be too busy attempting to survive to worry about these issues. Russia, China, and Europe are now working to replace the Petrodollar and SWIFT payment system with other things. Are we going to launch a war on all three at once?
This country has reached the end of it’s lifespan. It’s happening rapidly because of the advances in technology. Overpopulation, with all it’s attendant problems, will deal with all of us in it’s own sweet time. Barring a repeat of the French Revolution, the 1% will do just fine. The rest of us will suffer to varying degrees.
No, that is naive….its not by a normal lemming like event….
its Georgia Guidestones……planned depopulation.
killing ‘us’ off. from the 1%.

It should be obvious why Kavanaugh is the nominee. It’s symptomatic of the late stage of empire. It elites who own most of everything are in a tizzy. The empire is running out of unoccupied space in which to expand. The barriers have gone from soft and permeable to hard and impenetrable. A face-off with Russia or China is not the same as with Honduras or Vietnam. Syria and Iran are lines in the sand. And therein lies the rub. Recall my two precepts in governance. The rich must be made whole and the the only way to protect a fortune is to increase a fortune. An empire that cannot expand is dying. The only alternative is to visit on the center what was brought to the periphery. It is Kavanaugh’s task to render the Constitution inert. He represents class privilege asserting itself. The problem is the smoke screen of identity politics. Kavanaugh is white and male. Ford is female. Anita Hill is black and female. Of course rapists and liars should not be on the Supreme Court, but that’s beside the point. The point is the confirmation process has degraded into a cat fight because on substantive issues, the Republicans and Democrats are in agreement. They both want a jurist who will encroach on civil rights to protect the property rights of the elites. The snag is that they both want to win but can’t debate the issue on Kavanaugh’s merits. For the Republicans it would be to tip their hand to the multitudes who believe siding with the boss will bring them prosperity. For the Democrats it would reveal they are in fact not the party of working people. Now the court of public opinion is left to side either with a drunken, horny, teenage brat or a woman making accusations with no evidence or witnesses. We’re expected to go with the one we believe in. That leaves us in the position of having to throw the two into a pond and see who floats and who sinks. Or maybe we can put them in a cider press to see who confesses. Anything to keep the narrative away from why a Kavanaugh?
Hear, hear! EXCELLENT analysis!
Durango Kid,
BLAMMO!
All the rest is bullshit (just as designed).
Thanks for that dread insight; time to take the blinders off.

Thanks for this very perceptive comment, DurangoKid.
My shorter version: it’s all owning-class theater, now.
When China and Russia finally get their alternative global currency standard in order
There is not going to be an “alternative global currency”, not in a near future. The world will split into currency zone corresponding to the technological zones: The American zone (US), the European Zone (Germany), the Russian zone, the Chinese Zone – not sure how the British will venture – will they join the existing zone or form their own.
Trade between the zones will be conducted based on the original Bretton Woods with gold settlement of trade deficits.
And for American economy – at least for the working class – it is going to be much better than the current globalist system when America export dollars and [often bad] management and imports almost everything else.
Under current globalist system the majority of American working class is just an extra burden on the economy.
For the permanent Washington bureaucracy it is going (already is) a disaster.
Up to 90% of that apparatus will simply not be needed.
For this reason and more, I think you’re way off base with this prediction, Finc. The world needs and will continue to need a reserve currency for the trading of the global economy’s most valuable resource, oil, at the very least, which has already long replaced gold as the “basis” for settlements, as it’s ultimately much more valuable to commerce than shiny metals, and for now at least, much more readily available. And a fully digital currency has long been the dream of globalist everywhere for what should be obvious reasons. We’re about 90% there as we speak.
The world needs and will continue to need a reserve currency
There is no Nation in the world right now whom others will trust with maintaining such currency.
We are going back to pre-Bretton Woods.
By the way, what I said above about gold settlement, actually makes gold a very bad vehicle for private investors, since there is no zero probability that Trump will repeat the FDR trick with gold confiscation – for the good of the country,
You must be sober this morning. You said a few things that make sense anyway.
There is not going to be an alternative global currency in the near future.
The world will split into currency zones.
It is going to be much better for the American working class.
Sex sex sex the “girls” are marching ….
America’s become a vagina ghetto, with women just lounging around with signs, punctuated with screaming fits called “demonstrations”.
And “sex-workers” (uhhuhwhores) are embodiment of honest labor among a sub-set deranged white collar thinkers, male and female.
I’ve heard many a sick story about daddy’s little trust fund princess who doesn’t want to get a job after spending daddy’s money and sugar daddy’s herself. These people hate cis, white, male, blue collars workers, of course.
Well ladies and germs;
A quick scan of the comments this AM reveals more name-calling, venom and derision than is usual in several WEEKS of posts. Civility, please.
Where’s the love…?
The “rabble” has been stirred to action.
The Republican-controlled committee have decided to do the right thing and call for an FBI investigation.
Racist white-male-hating janet doesn’t understand politics.
If they think they can confirm Kavanaugh without more delays then they will. If they think they don’t have the votes, then backroom deal-making will ensue until they do.
Republicans are not afraid of an investigation; they’re just not dumb enough to give it away for free. The Left may get their one-week delay, but it’s going to cost them votes and—ultimately—the confirmation.
Of a thirty-plus year old non-crime with absolutely no concrete evidence? If the FBI investigates, the DOJ should investigate them for malfeasance and dereliction of duty. Oh! That’s right! Mueller should already be doing that!
What a circus show this all is. A disgrace. Buffoonery. I can hear the American peoples’ confidence in their government dissipating.
Feinstein was wrong in holding Ford’s letter back (corruption and partisan tactics). This should’ve been addressed behind the curtain and ONLY brought to light to the American public AFTER it was determined that there was a prosecutable offense. (Bringing this to light beforehand only caused a major disruption of a Senate hearing and the tainting of people’s reputations and damage to their lives.) This was a mixture of foolishness, inability to predict consequences and evil.
Ford should have been instructed to follow the normal channels, seek an attorney, and file a claim with the proper law enforcement organization (the local police department in the city where this alleged assault attempt occurred). The infrastructure for these situations were established centuries ago. The operate off of the foundation of Rule of Law, jurisprudence, innocent until proven guilty, etc. An investigation would’ve been initiated by the proper authorities to determine if there was enough evidence to put a legal process in motion.
The standard actions were not put into action and the result is chaos.
Rachel Mitchell says she wouldn’t prosecute Kavanaugh
So this professonal female prosecutor of rapists who questioned Ford at the hearing wouldn’t prosecute Kavanaugh based on Ford’s testimony. Way too many gaps and inconsistencies. A first-year law school student could win this case.
Which is why the Republican-controlled committee wisely decided to let the FBI investigate before voting for Kavanaugh.
A first-year law school student could win this case for the defense, janet. Meaning there’s no evidence to prosecute, and the witness—Ford—isn’t credible.
Didn’t your fake news employer admonish you already for failing to fully read a post before you try to spin it? I don’t want you to get in trouble and lose your job.
But there must be evidence since Ford must be telling her truth which is the Truth and Kavanaugh must be found guilty. So the FBI MUST keep looking until the find something.
The USA – shining beacon to the world, elevates a whore-mongering pussy grabbing piece of garbage to its presidency. It would be a bit hypocritical if this whining frat boy was not awarded ‘his’ seat – you know, for being one of the bros.
George,
Exactly right!!!
JDH
“The USA – shining beacon to the world, elevates a whore-mongering pussy grabbing piece of garbage to its presidency (strong message to follow)….
The citizen protestors, and Senate Republicans… they want an investigation by the FBI … they are in control of events.
Right now McConnell does not have the votes to confirm Kavanaugh.
President Trump will allow an FBI investigation… or there will be no confirmation of Kavanaugh.
Oh, Janet, one Republican has reneged on a promise he gave this AM. Flake is aptly named. His constituency in Arizona has thrown him out, he is a Democrat in GOP clothing, just like his predecessor. I was duped by this guy, I consider it the worst vote I have ever made.
Sidebar. Who is his new mentor? What do Mitt Romney and Jeff Flake have in common? Other than Trumpphobia, maybe a run for President in 2020?
She showed up wearing a somewhat wrinkled skin that was already starting to sag, along with a demure blue outfit that evoked professor more than Prada. Very much appropriate for the occasion, and certainly far removed from her attire on that night of sex and boozing some 36 years ago when she was a rather hot 15-16 year old pubescent adventuress.
She received a PhD in educational psychology from USC and her dissertation was “Measuring Young Children’s Coping Responses to Interpersonal Conflict”.
Apparently her own response to Kavanaugh’s supposed sexual advances has left a lot to be desired, as this terrible trauma 36 years ago has seemingly scarred her entire life. But no, the terrible trauma wasn’t inflicted 36 years ago, it was about two years ago, when the election of Donald Trump afflicted her with that most dreadful of psychoses, TDS.
What we have now is a shrunken, shriveled shrink.
President Trump said of Dr. Ford: “I thought her testimony was very compelling. She is a very fine woman. Very fine woman.”
All over America today, women are asking their hairdressers for “The Ford” hairdo, with a just little left in the face for that girlish look. When they get home, they practice their little girl voices in the mirror. All of them above a certain age: beginning hags, hags, and hideous hags.
Her hair carefully curled inward to *so demurely* frame the face…
President Trump is so awesome and persuasive. He just confounds his critics. Gosh he is just super dreamy!
Did anyone notice that Numbnuts had to print some more money tonight to keep the US government going?
That is a sure sign of DEEP dysfunction when the typical raging dumpster fire distracts from everything else. the Trump fiasco is in a league of its own.
Donald Jr. is amazing too. Maybe he can be president after Mr. Trump leaves office in 2025.
From prison?
Sure – if that is what it takes. Obviously men can be accused of anything falsely so being in prison doesn’t mean anything anymore.
And after his reign as Emperor, Baron will take the Throne.
Definitely! We finally have real royalty.
And then there is Eric too.
Ivanka would be better than Eric.
Lol I agree!
Let’s see. Further investigation, hmmm. The only witnesses to the Ford lie have given statements to both sides through their lawyers and the one signed by Mark Judge all said that this never happened! Other allegations are so ludicrous that the Dems will not even surface them. I think the correct term is bum’s rush.
It sickens me that after the vote in 2016, that the Left still has almost total control of D.C. And the Deep State. If the Blue wave does happen in November, the end approacheth.
Cowards like Flake are the nation’s worst enemy.
I figured Flake would flake out! But Sen. Coons has already tipped his hat that Dems are going to be pulling together new spurious allegations next week. Little do they know that behind the scenes Dr. Ford’s ties to the Deep State are being investigated.
They are not going to win. I sensed that Trump is being magnanimous in an unusual way. He is totally in control. This investigation is going to reveal scary stuff I bet. Maybe like it’s Soros funded.
Rush predicted a fourth accuser by Monday. There’s an infinite supply of these bimbos.
Lol, they’re waiting for the 15 minutes of resistard fame.
Behold; I am become Finca, destroyer of Clinton-worlds! == Ozone
The question of the Three Hurricanes (part one)
I will begin with a reminder of who Hillary Clinton is and how seriously we should be treating her words.
On this video, which was published on October 7, 2015, that is, a week after the first air strikes by the Russian Air Force on the positions of ISIS in Syria, which she persistently calls the moderate opposition in this interview, she reports on the introduction of a no-fly zone in Syria just like the no-fly zone in Libya and that “Russia , as a country that has repeatedly violated the airspace of Turkey’s NATO country, has been warned about the cost of violating this no-fly zone.”
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEuTVN3OvdA
And in a month and a half on November 24, 2015, the Su-24M front-line bomber of the Russian Federation, part of the Russian aviation group in Syria, was shot down by an air-to-air missile fired by the Turkish Air Force F-16C in the Syrian-Turkish border from about 6000 meters, and fell in the territory of the Syrian province of Latakia in the Bayirbudzhak district. And the details of this shot-down in 2015 not only coincide with the details of Hillary Clinton’s interview, but also with the details of the recent incident with the Russian IL-20.
Then, in 2015, Hillary Clinton was a private person who had just announced her intention to run for president, and she began her campaign on July 3, 2015, at the foot of the Roosevelt Monument, announcing her determination not to allow second Yalta, where Roosevelt announced in April of 1945 a plan to prevent the Third World War, and Stalin accepted this plan.
Nevertheless, on October 7, 2015, she, on behalf of NATO, announced the actions that NATO will take in response to Russia’s actions in Syria and Ukraine and which, for sure, would lead to World War III. And after 3 months, these actions were taken by a Turkish pilot who, knocking down the Russian Su-24, de facto carried out the orders of Hillary Clinton, and not President Erdogan of Turkey.
Meanwhile, a week ago, right after the incident in 2018 with Russian IL-20, Hillary Clinton appeared on the national television of the United States and after a long absence in public space, she answered the questions carefully prepared by her. One of these answers stated US and Russia are at war, and another recommended that her supporters not rely on the results of the November elections, but be prepared to support “other ways to call the Trump administration to account”, which the Russians brought to power.
Nevertheless, none of my readers, in spite of her reputation and prehistory of such statements, took her words seriously. But this was taken seriously by Donald Trump, who after this speech instantly changed his plans, in particular radically changing the position he took in relation to the accusations of Judge Kavanaugh, nominated by him for the post of Justice of the US Supreme Court, in an attempt to rape Professor Ford, then 15, and Judge Kavanaugh 17.
I will confine myself to the facts already set forth in order to justify the need to take seriously the words of Hillary Clinton, including her declaration of the war on Russia and invite them to consider the issue of the three hurricanes, whose history is a bright spot in the picture depicting absolute darkness.
The aforementioned charges of Judge Kavanaugh emerged at the last moment, when the US Senate Legal Committee had already completed confirmation hearings, although it is known that the Democratic senator Feinstein kept them locked in her desk for three months.
And this shows that the accusation of Judge Kavanaugh by Professor Ford in the attempted rape is Plan B, and Plan A, to which the incident with Russian IL-20 was to be docked, was something else.
And I do not see any other candidates for this vacancy except Hurricane Florence, which, at the moment when the preparations for the incident with Russian plane, entered the final stage, was to be the biggest hurricane in the history of observations of the Atlantic Ocean, and if this opportunity was realized, then the power in the United States would pass to FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which Trump’s future supporters called the Hillary Clinton’s Guard in 2015, just as the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry in the 1990s was the guard of President Yeltsin.
To be continued..
Another treatise in the unmistakably characteristic and completely inimitable “Epic Finca” style! I can’t wait!
The play has been staged, the characters have played their competing parts and the votes have been cast. Kavanaugh played a better victim. Cynical? No, merely observing the manifest. We will never know the truth and are not intended to. Our emotions are being played with. The actors are not sympathetic, the rich, polished and stylishly coiffed woman who travels on vacation to exotic places versus the rich man who’s been keeping an appointment calendar since high school and swears he was a virgin far longer than is considered natural, a rich bitch and a stiff cock.
Government has many levels, and at this level, the hearing we are dealing with, is its lowest. They are the town criers. They haven’t formulated the message, they are incapable of it, most don’t have the intellect. They, like us, are being played by the message formulators, which gets us into other levels. So what’s this all about?
The real messenger is Donald Trump. He carries the word of the people. This country is in trouble and attention must be paid; a change is needed. The elites ensconced in their comfortable niches are shocked at this turn of events and become unbalanced, lunatic, and even dangerous. The criers dare not make a move else they will lose their good thing. You can’t stand too close to the pointillist painting or you don’t get the full picture. There are other messages too in the presentation, like the emasculating of men and the infantilizing of women. Take your pick, which plays better to your neurotic needs?
L,
Not bad, not a bad summation at all.
JDH
I would say excellent, bordering on profound.
Yes, indeed. This show-trial is just high-falutin’ pro wrestling, inner beltway (swamp) version. So grab your placard and root for your favorite. Despite this, there are still certain underlying norms that must be protected. Most importantly, the rule of law. Ford, and her supporters, want the rule of law to not matter. If there was a violation of law way back when they, Ford and Kavanaugh, were teenagers, then that violation should have been addressed back then. It was not, for whatever reason. But the memories have faded and all potential witnesses are no longer enumerable. So judgement is no longer easy or even possible. Furthermore, even if it did happen, the culture was different back then, the societal rules were not so protective back then, so application of today’s laws and culture is ex post facto. So, by the rule of law, if a violation can not be proved within a reasonable amount of time, it is the same as no violation having been committed, from the standpoint of the rule of law, with the possible exception of capital crimes. We cannot and should not support witch hunts, even if we don’t like the person putatively being benefited.
I might add that women, generally, do not understand the need for the support and protection of the rule of law, even if it results in something they find distasteful.
Dr.Ford’s experience’s were probably common for about 40 percent of suburban teenage girls back then.
doggersize, yeah, trying to get some D
my 15-16 year old girl and I at the same age were so clumsy even with being left alone by her parents to watch a movie in the dim lit dark. I knew neither how to properly grope or she to be grope.
We were sweet to each other and teenagers. I don’t remember her with pent up rage or I with a violent masochist streak.
Those properties were more in the wealthy kids with resources of rec rooms with beer and a swimming pool. A bro culture. Which both Ford and Kavanaugh were privy too.
Adults going on about sexual exploits or made up sexual exploits at h.s. parties have a screw loose.
She was there for the D, if there was any there.
Kavenaugh is the perfect representative for the fascist state this country has devolved into. A pathetic crybaby that blames left-wing operatives for his suffering.Out-victiming any one else that has had a difficult time with the “process”.
Poor Brett, maybe he’ll now have empathy for other “victims” of the “Drug War” or refugee crisis caused by his complicit meddling in the ME, or innocent victims of imprisonment or torture from the GWOT?
Just kidding. He’s a groomed tool of our corporate, fascist regime.
You really have no idea what you’re talking about do you?
This is not new, though, What year was it that Bertram Gross’s book ‘Friendly Fascism’ came out, early 80s?
It’s not so friendly now
The Democrat party is an open disgrace, a festering wound, populated by vile, reprehensible and loathsome liars, fool and criminals. May it die an agonizing death.
If the Democrats fail to take the House in November, then the US media has either been engaged in a gigantic mind f**k or employs completely flawed and worthless methods of electoral prediction.
If the Republicans retain control of the House and Senate, it is time for President Trump to throttle the Democrat party and sent it to the scrap heap of history.
And I voted for Mondale, Dukakis, (never Clinton or Gore), Kerry and Obama twice. Never again. The Democrat party has died.
“The Democrat party has died.”
There is no “Democrat” party. Are you listening to Rush?
There is a Democrat party and it is dying off.
I read your remark below. It’s full of bull, just like you.
“Dr.” Ford is clear liar and frankly I could care less if some 17 year old kid groped a 15 year girl in 1982. No one gives a $h*t about that.
The Democrat party is a disgrace and Trump is going to bury it and its pathetic followers. Brace yourself.
Shab,
Come on Shab, we’ll welcome you back into the fold with open arms. You know how touchy feely we are. Come back to the light, please?

It sickens me that after the vote in 2016, that the Left still has almost total control of D.C. And the Deep State. If the Blue wave does happen in November, the end approacheth. –JohnAZ
Have you not been reading finca’s posts? Trump is a puppet. Hillary is in control of everything evil.
Dr. Ford said she is 100% certain Kavanaugh attacked her. She was not drunk. Being inebriated MJ and Kavanaugh has memory lapses and does not even remember being in the room on top of her. Fortunately, we will now have the FBI investigating Kavanaugh.
I hope they get hold of the original of Kavanaugh’s calendar. I hope the FBI analyzes the ink on the calendar to see if Kavanaugh made it up last month, to back up the four lies he told under oath during frat boy’s fake anger and fake tears fest at the hearing.
If you believe her. I do not. She is a shill for the Dems whose goal is postponement of the vote until after the midterms. Period. What is there about her being female that makes her 100% honest and the two men inebriated liars? Thank God due process is the law of the land. Little female dictators like you would be crucifying every male you get your hands on. There is zero grandiosity in this affair at all. Especially the Dems “sympathy” towards her. As soon as she serves no purpose, she will be discarded by the Left.
What are you going to do when the investigation produces nothing, find something else? The Left never changes.
Remember Schumer when Kavanaugh was announced? “We will get him whatever it takes.” Now we know what that meant.
Remember Schumer when Kavanaugh was announced? “We will get him whatever it takes.” Now we know what that meant. –JohnAZ
The Kavanaugh confirmation/appointment is not dead yet, JohnAZ. If Kavanaugh is innocent, the FBI investigation will not find anything. Have a little faith in your guy, instead of listening to Schumer.
When my sister was going through her divorce, her psychiatrist told her she was repressing memories of being molested by our father when we were children.
She started harassing my parents so bad they had to get an unlisted phone number.
It was a completely bullshit, phony made up charge; but she ran with it because it helped her look like a better victim.
She also tried to get her husband to beat her up; but he was such a pussy that tactic went nowhere. In some ways she got hung by her own petard.
She chose to marry this man precisely because she needed a weak man that would not kill her when he found out she just used him to have a baby.
To sum up, women lie all the time to get what they want.
That is exactly why they make such good Democrats. It is a bullet on the Democratic job description.
Thwack, the tale you relate certainly gives insight into why the serpent approached Eve rather than Adam in the garden of Eden.
>>> She was not drunk.
Says who? Her word only. The word of someone who lied about her inability to fly to DC last week. Who delayed the hearing for three days so that she could have time to drive to DC. Who then flew to DC just as she flies all over the world without issue.
Busted! FAIL!
>>> Being inebriated MJ and Kavanaugh has memory lapses
Nope. Their memories have no lapses at all. They flat out denied the event happened. As did Ford’s best friend. The only person with memory lapses is Ford. She can’t remember how she got home!
“Would it be fair to say that somebody drove you somewhere, either to the party, or home from the party?”
“Correct,” Ford replied.
“Has anyone come forward to say to you, remember, I was the one that drove you home?” Mitchell asked.
“No,” Ford said.
So she definitely remembers it was Kav, and then ran out of the locked room which somehow wasn’t locked by then, and downstairs past her girlfriend who doesn’t recall the event, and then out of the house she can’t identify, and then somehow into a vehicle that magically appeared like Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage to take her home, although she can’t remember what the vehicle looked like or who was driving it or how it got there. Then, when she got home, the vehicle turned back into a pumpkin and all evidence was lost!
Well now that the committee has confirmed his nomination, I’m going out to have a beer in honor of the honorable judge.
Amen. Pence will cast the tie breaker vote if necessary.
That won’t be necessary. Relax.
S’habbi,
Pence’s vote my not help you if our girls Susan and Lisa come through. Let’s not get ahead of our skis (no pun intended).
JDH
JMR,
You might want to hold off on that ski. Let’s wait until the real vote in 7+ days, eh? I’m just saying.
JDH
Trump has formally requested an FBI investigation WHICH HE COULD HAVE DONE LONG AGO. Trump pussy-whipped by that “very fine woman” … it is a new era … more women in the public arena than ever. We will no longer shrug our shoulders, remain silent or say “boys will be boys” #TimesUp
I like it that way. As I said a long time ago, I like it when the women I’m with take it like they’re being stabbed.
Speaking about long ago, how about that Feinstein? As they say, timing is everything! A bitch of a witch!
The feud between Trump and Flake is well chronicled. Thank God this dirt bag will soon be out of office, but he’ll do his damage first, get in the Parthian shot.
Just what we need. Another FBI investigation. Then what? And it seems that Trump has to give the okay. Ha! How beautiful for Flake.
Jim,
Some of us have asked more than a few times to just post your blog sans comment section. We know it’s the New Civil War, but every week becomes a bloodbath right under your column. Please let the trolls and the O so righteous find another serious journalist to use as an excuse to punish anyone that disagrees with them. The country is broken and all the super glue in the universe won’t keep it together any more.”
I’ve seen blog after blog go that route. I say let the fur fly, freedom and all that.I love to take the pulse of the country, you can bet what you see here is what your future holds. This is turning out to be one humdinger of a fourth turning.
Why would or should Jim ban comments when you could, of your own volition, just not read them? I don’t get it. No one’s getting hurt here, just a whole lotta people – and granted, a few bad actors, but they’re fun too – exercising their right to free speech.
Dilly! Dilly! Let it all hang out!
Remember that these folks do no believe in free speech!
BTW, missus opie voted twice for Obama. She thinks Ford is lying. ha ha ha ha! She reminded me of something Menchin once said. “On one issue, at least, men and women agree: they both distrust women.”
If the legal burden of proof is to be reduced to geographical proximity and a plausible narrative then I’d say were all pretty much screwed.
The situation is much more serious than you all think, and in the following posts regarding Three Hurricanes I will talk about how we can all get out of the shithouse, in which we all find ourselves in, but especially thanks to one malignant Hillary’s flying monkey, and another sellout Hillary’s monkey, and also thanks to Russian Hillary useful idiots who arranged an anti-Semitic bazaar in RuNet.
Those who may be impressed with Ford having taken a polygraph
test ought to know–if they don’t by now–that the test was administered by an ex-FBI agent in the pay of Ford’s lawyers. Since, IMO, any polygraph test is useless unless administered by a totally impartial
source, a lawyer-payed, ex-FBI who may well have friends still in the service is, to put it mildly, NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
Do I make myself clear?
“Overall, it was impossible to believe that Dr. Ford had not experienced something with somebody — or else why submit to such a grotesque public spectacle”
Why? Because, as I see it, Ford is a committed supporter of abortion
and was totally willing to submit to any public spectacle, no matter
how grotesque, to better serve the cause. I have no doubt that Ford’s
self image as a heroine of the pro-abortion movement was the one factor that led her to humiliate herself in order to torpedo the chances of
a man she saw as the enemy of women’s right to choose. Such fanaticism justifies any action, no matter how outrageous.
Women can and do lie about rape and abuse…
Former college student who claimed rape admits it was all lies
‘Every district attorney’s nightmare’: Two men exonerated in 1991 rape claim
Girl made false accusation of rape after her ex-boyfriend rejected her
I was willing to believe that Ford may have mis-remembered. But then she testified under oath that she’s 100% certain it was Kav. So that leaves no room for mis-remembering. And that’s quite a thing to say given that she can’t remember how she got there, how she left, or even where “there” is.
Of course, notice how the Left has an excuse for everything that undermines Ford’s credibility? No doubt if witnesses surface to say Ford mistook them for Kavanaugh and Judge, the Left will argue that Ford didn’t lie, as it’s perfectly natural for trauma victims to mis-remember and claim 100% that someone did something they didn’t. Apparently, when you’re a femme de traumatisme, you can say or do anything without consequence.
Yes Figaro, and does it not stagger your imagination that here in America where actors and actresses are held in such high esteem, showered with so much devotion, accolades, and attention that this same adoring public can fail to be able to see the real actors and actresses of our society, in the public eye and the public court rooms?
Professional actors and actresses exist at many levels in our society from crisis actors for training and maybe not so much training events, to small, local events and yes, for professional gain in the courtrooms of America.
Professional actors are everywhere, people are simply too unobservant to see it and it is a shame because even their children can generally act well enough to get off from school by acting sick, can’t they?
“Free Bill Cosby!”

Why does it seems everyone says that Ford must have misremembered. Why can’t someone say,
SHE LIED OUTRIGHT for political gain and she is a SHILL for the lying Democrats.
She’s a professor of psychology. A female-dominated field. They like to study that because it sharpens their skills. Why did she scrub her social media posts beforehand? It’s premeditated deception.
I’m ashamed of you two, JohnAZ and Tate. Ford has a $750,000 GoFundMe account (so it has been alleged). If true, that shows how much public support she has garnered.
Or, alternatively, it gives an indication of her price. Pretty economical, I’d venture, in the era of billionaires, soon to be trillionaires.
The FBI will quickly determine that choirboy BK liked his alcohol so much, on every day of the week, that he frequently blacked out (or as Kavanaugh testified “went to sleep”), had memory lapses, became belligerent, and abused women. Ditto Mark Gauvreau Judge, a real piece of work, who documented their licentious lifestyle in suburban Maryland.
Well, a Democrat’s wet dream. Contrarian, he will be totally exonerated and for once the Liberal shill will be sued for slander.
>>> The FBI will quickly determine that…
LOL. And the FBI will also find Dr. Ford’s knickers stashed away in Mark Judge’s closet!
The only question is what Senator Flake will do at the end of next week when the FBI confirms what is already known, and the Left demands more delays and more investigations. Will Flake keep his promise or not? Because apparently they need his vote.
Senator Flake has a number of children—several sons. I wonder if he would accept the testimony of a woman who claimed that one of his sons attempted to rape her. A women with no memory of when it happened, where it happened, how she got there, how she left, who was there, and every witness denied it happened. I wonder how many of these Senators would accept such evidence if it was pointed at one of their own.
I think we all know the answer to that question.
What is wrong with that guy? The utter despair in his eyes, his utter indecisiveness. He sold his soul I’d say. Or he’s in way over his head, living an inauthentic life. Ted Kennedy’s son, Patrick, was pretty pathetic – a chronic alcoholic. He did the right thing and quit as soon as Ted died once his term was up.
Have you ever been to a keg party in Bethesda, Maryland?
Have you? Remember Judge Kavanaugh had a goal of 100 kegs. Just sayin’
Janet,
would you be comfortable hanging a black man from a tree; based on Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony?
Because thats what used to happen.
As flimsy as her allegation is, it used to get black males killed.
Blacks knew they weren’t allowed to whistle at White Women, yet they did anyway. Why? The Black male obsession with White Women is no myth. You yourself are an exemplar.
Is your name Janet?

Thwack,
Who knows? Is your name “Thwack”?

I wonder why they hate Bill Cosby so much? He was very successful, and he had a good sense-of-humor.
American Black Comedy is quite good: Red Fox, Flip Wilson, Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Chris Rock, etc.
I miss Flip Wilson! That guy was effin’ great.
Maybe because he drugged and raped women? Just my personal theory.
“I love to take the pulse of the country, you can bet what you see here is what your future holds.” Opie
Yes that is a reasonable assertion – The American in Chief, the Congress and the Courts are a reflection of the sentiment found in this comment section week after week. The country is not divided what you see is what you get. Malevolent self interest that fosters a cornucopia of disfunction.

I don’t remember people going after Gorsuch this way. What makes the difference? Why do they have it in for one guy, and not the other?
The court is evenly divided right now between liberals and conservatives. Kav will provide a 5-4 majority to conservatives.
But in reality it’s not that simple, as the ideological spectrum is not that simple. Most of this is just unhinged liberal hysteria. Like when Hillary and Obama said that if Trump was elected, he would launch nuclear missiles. And of course liberals believe this stuff. They believe everything the MSM tells them. It’s like a giant Jim Jones cult, and the Kool-Aid flows freely…
Jim Jones was a great favorite of DiFi and other California Democrats. They need to be reminded of this more often.

I also wonder if women see sexual assault and rape as some kind of validation of their attractiveness?
Maybe womens rape fantasies are some kind of projection of their narcissistic sense of self worth onto men?
“I’d rather be looked over than overlooked” — Mae West
Chivalry, romance and innocence all died in the “Summer of Love” 1968, as chronicaled by Don McLean’s lamentation “American Pie”. With the advent of the pill, and, as Jim so eloquently states the “nothing matters, anything goes” mantra, the free love era began. “Don’t be square” and “if it feels good, do it” were common Baby Boomer shout outs to the holdouts. Unfortunately, during this so-called “Great Awakening” amidst the mirth, frivolity and irresponsibility people got hurt. We Boomers lifted the lid off Pandora’s Box and let the evil spirits out. They are now free to roam for eternity. We passed this “nothing matters, anything goes” mantra onto our future generations and they each put their own spin on it.
I guess the GI Generation wasn’t so dumb afterall. Too bad, these heroes won’t be around to bail the world’s ass out of the next jam!
Chivalry means Patriarchy. It’s a reaching down to show individual appreciation of the social inferior, a gesture of spiritual equality. Once everything is made equal, any display of chivalry is just servitude on the part of males.
When downtrodden, women thought themselves equal. When equal, they see themselves as superior to the average man. They are born looking up, seeking to advance by means of the other.
So then chivalry isn’t dead?
Oh I get it now ok :-).

No other judge in history has held the idea that the President is above the law. That is why Trump picked him. Because Trump may be charged with crimes. Kavanaugh will protect Trump from prosecution.
>>> No other judge in history has held the idea that the President is above the law.
Then you should have no problem showing us a YT video of Kav saying, “The Prez is above the law!”

You jogged my memory. Wasn’t that Tricky Dick’s schtick? ‘If the President does it, it is not illegal’.
Barry Goldwater allegedly led the charge to the White House in order to inform His Majesty that Congress had the votes to give him the bum’s rush.
It very well may be that Christine Blasey Ford isn’t a licensed psychologist after all and committed perjury. She already lived in privilege, with a husband if you can believe it. I’m very certain her husband slept on the couch. Now she has over $700,000 on GoFundMe. Who is Christine Blasey Ford? We should definitely have a total investigation.
Calling for an FBI investigation based on the testimony of Christine Blasey Ford, reminds me of my first camp out with the boy scouts.
We were told everybody would be going on a snipe hunt when it got dark.
I didn’t know what a snipe was, and although their descriptions of them were vague and obtuse; I got the sense they were something like a cross between a rabbit and a raccoon?
We were told to team up in pairs, and they put me with the only other new guy.
After about an hour stumbling around in the woods, we noticed we couldn’t find anybody else?
So we walked back to the camp site and everybody was there laughing at us.
Question for the group
Is there a way that the GOP can stop Jeff Flake from moving toward the presidential race, as has been suggested? Can they throw him out of the party? Maybe then he can run as a Democrat, but not in Arizona.
I don’t think you’ve got anything to worry about.
Flake is a RINO. He’s too conservative for unhinged Leftist nutters. He’s despised by the Right for consistently caving in to Leftist demands (as he so aptly demonstrated today). If we believe the MSM, a few hysterical women screaming at him in an elevator convinced him to change his mind.
And you think he’s got a chance at POTUS?!
Trump has set a very high bar for others to follow; he actually keeps his promises. That’s something Flake and other RINOs have never learned.
He could try to run but he would losd badly

Brett Kavanaugh’s Radical View of Executive Power
Trump’s Supreme Court nominee threatens to undermine the Mueller probe.
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/09/04/kavanaugh-trump-mueller-executive-power-219634
LOL that’s not a YT video of Kav saying, “The Prez is above the law!” That’s a biased editorial posing as a news article…
Kavanaugh seems to hold dangerous views about executive power, views that could undermine special counsel Robert Mueller’s inquiry, ultimately shielding Trump from a criminal investigation. Indeed, Kavanaugh’s writing suggests that, as a justice, he might reject important Supreme Court case law and support the president’s right to refuse to turn over evidence to Mueller’s team. He might also hold that a president can refuse to answer questions in a criminal investigation.
Kavanaugh seems to…
…could undermine…
….Kavanaugh’s writing suggests…
…he might…
LOL. It’s like the author looked up every synonym for “maybe”. Well maybe janet is a bot! Or maybe not!

“Now please link to something Kav actually wrote that says the Prez is above the law. Links or it didn’t happen.” –Exscotticus
It did happen. Kavanaugh wrote it. And Kavanaugh’s views are unconstitutional. A genuine originalist would have a hard time conjuring broad presidential immunities from the constitutional text.
The Framers knew how to draft special protections for public officials, as they did for members of Congress in the Speech or Debate Clause. But as James Wilson told the Pennsylvania Ratifying Convention in 1787: “the executive power is better to be trusted when it has no screen”; here “not a single privilege is annexed to his character; far from being above the laws, he is amenable to them in his private character as a citizen, and in his public character by impeachment.”
On the available evidence, Judge Kavanaugh appears uncomfortable with that arrangement. Presidential power skeptics should be equally uneasy about his nomination.

janet you linked to two academic papers. One is 33 pages long. One is 46 pages long. I seriously doubt you read either of them. If you had, you would have found this paragraph…
Even the lesser burdens of a criminal investigation—including preparing for questioning by criminal investigators—are time-consuming and distracting. Like civil suits, criminal investigations take the President’s focus away from his or her responsibilities to the people. And a President who is concerned about an ongoing criminal investigation is almost inevitably going to do a worse job as President. One might raise at least two important critiques of these ideas. The first is that no one is above the law in our system of government. I strongly agree with that principle.
FAIL!
All Kav appears to be saying here is that the Prez is not a normal citizen. He’s the head of state; he’s the guy who authorizes a nuclear strike if our enemies decide to launch one at us. We really can’t treat our Prez as if he’s just some normal guy who has to show up in court every time Creepy Porn Lawyer finds someone to accuse him of something with no evidence whatsoever. If that were the case, Dems could find hundreds of people and keep him in court every day—effectively nullifying his presidency.
And I know, janet, that you would just love to nullify Trump’s presidency with frivilous lawsuits, and then argue that Trump has to show up because he’s not “above the law”.
It took me 30 seconds to find Kavanaugh’s own writings on presidential immunity from criminal prosecution, i.e., the president is above the law.
Do you know how to use a search engine?
Kavanaugh’s views “evolved” … under Clinton a president could be prosecuted according to Kavanaugh. Under Bush a president could not be… I guess Kavanaugh’s interpretation of the constitution depends on who is in office.
>>> Kavanaugh’s views “evolved”
Oh you mean like Dr. Ford’s testimony “evolved”? First she said there were four others; then she said there were at least four others. First she said it was a party; then she said it wasn’t a party. First she said she doesn’t remember how she got home; then she said someone drove her. First she said she couldn’t fly; then she said she flies everywhere.
KAVANAUGH LIED UNDER OATH SAYING HIS DRINKING WAS LEGAL
Kavanaugh said, under penalty of perjury, that the legal drinking age was 18 because it “allowed friends to legally purchase beer, and for him to drink at high school parties.”
Under Maryland law, a person under the age of 21 cannot consume or possess alcohol except in certain circumstances, including in a private home with the consent and under the supervision of an adult over the age of 21.
In his memoir, Wasted: Tales of a GenX Drunk, Judge recounts years of local high school parties and beach getaways involving alcohol. He wrote that he and his friends aimed to consume 100 kegs of beer their senior year. Kavanaugh’s bio in the senior yearbook notes that he was a member of the “Keg City Club (treasurer) — 100 Kegs or Bust.”
KAVANAUGH PERJURES HIMSELF ON EXECUTIVE PRIVILEGE
In his 2018 Supreme Court hearing, Kavanaugh claimed to have “never taken a position on the constitutionality of indicting or investigating a sitting president.”
Kavanaugh has written pieces for The Georgetown Law Journal in 1998, The Washington Post in 1999, and The Minnesota Law Review in 2009 regarding his beliefs about investigations and/or indictments of sitting presidents. These three articles demonstrate perjury in his 2018 claim to not take positions regarding this issue.
KAVANAUGH COMMITTED PERJURY RE: MARK JUDGE
In this week’s hearing Kavanaugh claimed that high school friend Mark Judge wrote an “affidavit under threat of perjury” to the Senate Judiciary Committee. The actual document containing Mark Judge’s words is simply a signed letter from his lawyer.
Mark Judge’s signature appears nowhere on the letter and nowhere does it imply any sort of legal standing other than a mere letter sent out by Mark Judge.
Kavanaugh repeatedly claimed a simple letter was an affidavit carrying a possible penalty of perjury, which is false, which means that on September 27, 2018, Kavanaugh perjured himself.
Also of note regarding Kavanaugh’s moral character: Mark Judge has not been subpoenaed to testify under oath by the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee.
KAVANAUGH COMMITTED PERJURY RE: POLYGRAPH TESTS
Brett Kavanaugh perjured himself in this week’s hearing when it came to the issue of polygraph tests. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Cal.) asked if Kavanaugh had taken a polygraph test to confirm he was telling the truth, as his accuser, Dr. Ford, has passed a polygraph examination. Kavanaugh responded by claiming that “[t]hey’re not admissible in federal court because they are not reliable, as you know.”
His claim that polygraph tests “are not reliable” is directly against his own opinion from 2016. In Sack v. United States Department of Defense, Kavanaugh wrote that “law enforcement agencies use polygraphs to test the credibility of witnesses” and that polygraph examinations “serve law enforcement purposes.”
By claiming that polygraph tests are not reliable today, he directly contradicts an opinion he decided in 2016.
You can read Kavanaugh’s own words in his own legal decision on the reliability of polygraph tests here:
https://caselaw.findlaw.com/us-dc-circuit/1735693.html
Kavanaugh perjured himself at least four times during the hearings this week.
With all of the lies Kavanaugh has states while under oath, his undeniable pattern of perjury to the US Senate, why on Earth should we believe a single word of what he said in this week’s hearings in his denial of sexual crimes against Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and Julie Swetnick?
I believe those women, because they don’t have a well-documented and extensive history of perjury dating back to 2004. Kavanaugh does have a documented history of perjury, lying under oath, going back to 2004.
Mosquitoes are much more humane than some women, if a mosquito drinks your blood, at least it stops buzzing.
“The first is that no one is above the law in our system of government. I strongly agree with that principle.” FAIL!” –Exscotticus
Exscotticus, if you are going to quote, don’t lift things out of context. The following sentence of Kavanaugh is this:
But it is not ultimately a persuasive criticism of these suggestions. The point is not to put the President above the law or to eliminate checks on the President, but simply to defer litigation and investigations until the President is out of office.
In other words, the President IS above the law while serving as President. If he is President for Life (and Trump has said he likes that idea), then he can never be prosecuted. Nonetheless, Kavanaugh has stated the President, while serving as President, is above the law because Kavanaugh does not believe in any “investigation” or “litigation” directed toward a sitting President.
By the way, thank you. You have helped dispel the idea I am a “bot.” A “bot” is not capable of the level of intellectual exchange we have just enjoyed. At least, I enjoyed it.

Nowhere does Kav say that Congress cannot impeach the President. Quite the opposite…
If the President does something dastardly, the impeachment process is available.

janet took Kav’s academic papers, combined it with some alleged extemporaneous quote from Trump Jr., and then concluded that Kav is a machiavellian supporter of dictatorship.

Kavanaugh only sheds crocodile tears of Psychopathic rage, Jim. His denials don’t pass muster. The FBI is forced to investigate and they will have to investigate.
Clarence Thomas was the same type of Psychopath towards Anita Hill. Thomas was ushered in because sexual harassment was not addressed back then as it is now. The #MeTOO movement will never bow to a creep like Kavanaugh.
I’d give it 50% chance thus far.
JDHines is right to give you hell, Jim. I’m pissed at you too.

Joe Biden said the FBI never reaches conclusions. The only point is obstruction and delay.
Exscotticus, Kavanaugh himself is facing impeachment from the court, whether the DC Circuit or the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh now faces three named accusations of sexual assault and misconduct. But even before this week’s hearings, former deputy assistant attorney general Lisa Graves called for Kavanaugh’s impeachment about an entirely different thing — she accused him of lying about stolen memos the Bush White House and congressional allies used in early 2000s judicial confirmation fights under oath.
And, yes Exscotticus, it’s unlikely a Republican-controlled House would act on such an impeachment, but when Democrats take control, they could pursue charges related to both sexual wrongdoing and lying about the memos, whatever happens to Kavanaugh.
“That’s just the kind of thing a bot would say!” –Exscotticus
With all due respect, if you believe I am a bot, why are you spending so much time reading and replying to the posts of a bot?
janet I don’t know if you’re a bot or not. What I do know is that—like a bot—you have no sense of humor.
A new Morning Consult/Politico poll, conducted Sept. 20-23, found support for Kavanaugh’s confirmation is underwater among registered voters for the first time since his nomination, with 37 percent opposing the Senate confirming him and 34 percent supporting it.
The new finding marks a 5-percentage-point drop in net support since a poll conducted last week, after Christine Blasey Ford detailed her allegation that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were in high school, a charge he has repeatedly denied.
These polls were taken before President Trump ordered the FBI to investigate Kavanaugh.

Lol 🙂
Wasn’t there a Brady Bunch episode in which Marsha and Peter and Greg go to a Bethesda, Maryland keg party?
“Please quote where Kav said the Prez should or can be Prez for life.” –Exscotticus
I never said Kav said any such thing. What Kav said is that a sitting president is above the law. Specifically, Kav said a sitting president should not be investigated or litigated. I provided links to Kav’s own words where he said that.
The person who spoke about the US president being a president for life is Donald J. Trump, currently living in the White House. President Donald Trump praised Chinese President Xi Jinping’s recent consolidation of power, and wondered if someday the U.S. could have a president for life.
“He’s now president for life. President for life. No, he’s great. . . And look, he was able to do that. I think it’s great. Maybe we’ll have to give that a shot some day.” –President Donald Trump
If Trump manages to become president-for-life, with or without Kav’s help, the current view Kav holds is that a sitting president should not be subject to investigation or litigation… which, de facto, means the president is above the law while in office, according to Kav’s own words.
If Kav’s viewpoint reigns, a president in above the law because no president has ever been prosecuted after leaving office. We could prosecute a president after he leaves office says Kav, but the reality is presidents in danger of prosecution are either pardoned or ignored.
President Ford thought it necessary to prospectively pardon President Nixon. Some people wanted to prosecute President GW Bush for war crimes or similar charges based on the way he ordered some of his subordinates to interrogate alleged Al Qaeda terrorists, but the Obama administration took actions to prevent any such legal actions despite Obama’s firm belief that some of what was done was torture and thus illegal. Prosecuting a president after he leaves office is not going to happen, has not happened, and Kav knows this.
Kav’s legal doctrine effectively places the president above the law, even though Kav says the president is not above the law.
The only way to make the president not above the law is to permit investigation and prosecution immediately after a president commits a crime, while he is still in office, as Mueller is now doing.
But Kav is opposed to investigating or prosecuting a sitting president, effectively placing the president above the law.
janet we don’t need your spin to tell us what Kav said or meant; Kav’s words speak for themselves…
…the country needs a check against a bad-behaving or law-breaking President. But the Constitution already provides that check. If the President does something dastardly, the impeachment process is available. No single prosecutor, judge, or jury should be able to accomplish what the Constitution assigns to the Congress. Moreover, an impeached and removed President is still subject to criminal prosecution afterwards. In short, the Constitution establishes a clear mechanism to deter executive malfeasance; we should not burden a sitting President with civil suits, criminal investigations, or criminal prosecutions.
Nice try janet but this is hardly a machiavellian treatise in support of absolute power. Kav is clearly drawing a distinction between serious crimes that deserve immediate consideration, and political attacks and Creepy Porn Lawyer charges that can wait. And who decides which charges can wait and which ones can’t? Congress does—not unhinged liberals trying to nullify a POTUS election.
Speaking of deferments—they happen every day and all the time. They happen for all kinds of reasons. Nothing unusual about them at all. Indeed, your hero—Dr. Ford—asked for multiple deferments, falsely claiming that she couldn’t fly when in fact she flies more often than average American’s do! Funny, I didn’t hear you yammering on about how Dr. Ford shouldn’t be “above the law” when she demanded her deferments on fake pretenses.
JHK is completely off base regarding this whole sorry spectacle. As a woman, I thought the “Me Too” movement had become overblown. But after seeing yesterday’s testimony from both Blasey-Ford and Kavanaugh, it’s abundantly clear that he’s lying and she’s telling the truth. Her testimony was steady, sincere, unwavering and believable. Kavanaugh came across as a petulant frat boy who is used to getting his way, and clearly feels he is entitled to the nomination. Kavanaugh’s histrionic testimony, ranging from tears to rage, his evasiveness in answering questions, his refusal to agree to an FBI investigation, his constantly squirmy body language, all suggest he is guilty as hell.
You can say that it’s just a matter of “he said, she said,” but behavior, character and grace (or the lack thereof) do matter. Kavanaugh also apparently has a drinking problem, as he was overly sensitive to that line of questioning, coming across as defensive, projecting and belligerant. Those are classic symptoms of a closet alcoholic. I wished someone had asked about his current drinking habits.
Whether or not you believe the allegations of sexual abuse, Kavanaugh clearly lacks the temperament, moral character and nonpartisanship expected from someone granted a lifetime appointment to the highest court. He has lied under oath, and Republicans refuse to make most information about Kavanaugh public. Which suggests they are hiding something, perhaps even worse than the alleged sexual abuse. Those are the issues that should be of concern.
JHK demonstrates a complete lack of understanding in regards to the rape culture in our society, and the power that men wield over women on a daily basis. One in five women in the US report being sexually assaulted by a man at some time in their lives. When they do come forward, they are most often shamed, blamed, and disbelieved. They are subjected to the traumatic scrutiny that Dr. Blasey-Ford underwent yesterday, and the perpetrators are seldom held to account. JHK, like so many other men, suggests that women had it coming because they were in the wrong place, were drinking or wore the wrong clothes. Why would women come forward when faced with all of that? It’s easier to remain silent. Then they are criticized for that. In regards to Kavanaugh’s record on women’s rights, we have a right to be concerned. Most men just don’t understand.
She was actually totally unbelievable in my opinion. She is a great actress though. I am sure she had plenty of time to prepare for this since she was getting traing from the best. And a rape culture? Give me a break.
Only a man would say such a thing. I rest my case.
Wow, that was totally predictable. Here is a different example http://archive.is/bVA02#selection-3845.0-3845.139
Again no real discussion of facts.
Let’s talk about the record numbers of female teachers who are getting arrested for having sex with their teenage male students. Not getting a lot of media attention since it’s not the desired narrative. Let’s talk about all abuse not just manufactured outrage.
The Russian view of all this “problematics” is very simple:
1. We, as Christians, naturally do not want to see a woman hammered and deprived of rights. It was Christianity that destroyed the ancient view of a woman as a subhuman. At the same time, we, again as Christians, look at the world adequately, i.e. we perceive it as it is, and therefore we acknowledge the existing differences in the male and female nature, which also determine the differences in the social role of the sexes.
2. Any attempt to “identify the problem of gender inequality” is the opening of the Overtone window, which will necessarily lead us to feminist madness, which we can now see in the West. Russia is already the world leader in the number of women in government and business administration. For us, there is no such problem as infringement on women’s rights. Show at least one normal woman in Russia, who cares about the problem of “gender equality”? There are no such.
Those that you find, they have a different problem. They just need a man with a good erection and that’s all.
A normal woman worried that her husband does not fuck around, drink, earn a decent wage, is a good father and, in general, a reliable protection and support for the family.
And that’s all.
As soon as a woman begins to worry about gender issues, look for the root of the problem in her husband’s erection (or in its absence).
3. Creating a “level playing field” for a woman, we, in fact, make every effort to wrest her from traditional family relationships. That is, we stupidly destroy the traditional family. What for? Wise Chesterton defined feminism as the notion that “women are free when they serve their employers and slaves when they help their husbands.” We, as Christians, do not need such “freedom” for our women.
4. The so-called. “emancipation” is what leads to a drop in demography. Why should we take this path? At the same time, it has long been proven that turning a woman into a labor force on an equal footing with men leads to a reduction in salaries and the enrichment of corporations. 100 years ago a normally working man fed a family of several people. Today the couples are working together, worn like squirrels in a wheel and barely manage to put one or two children on their feet. We, as a civilization, once again raped.
First they took away the power of legitimate Christian kings from us, and then they destroyed the traditional family. Enough already for this nonsense!
I can’t disagree with anything you said here. The West must return to it’s traditions, and quickly!
>>> But after seeing yesterday’s testimony from both Blasey-Ford and Kavanaugh, it’s abundantly clear that he’s lying and she’s telling the truth.
And if she was talking about your son, your husband, your brother, or your father, would you still be as “abundantly clear”?
That’s why their behavior is so dreranged and over the top.
Ex-Scotticus, here is a practical example: A federal judge ruled Sept. 29, 2018 that over 200 Democratic representatives and senators can sue President Trump over claims he violated the emoluments clause of the Constitution regarding his businesses with foreign governments.
Trump has hosted foreign embassy events and foreign officials at its downtown D.C. hotel and at Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida. Even though Trump has handed over his business to his sons, he still owns it — a matter of which he has faced criticism as a financial conflict of interest.
If this case were to come before Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh, he would refuse to hear the case because a sitting president can rob and steal and shoot people of Fifth Avenue, but according to Kavanaugh no one should interfere by investigating or prosecuting a sitting president for his crimes.
janet this lawsuit is exactly the sort of thing that undermines separation of powers. Only Congress can impeach the President. If Congress believes that Trump violated the Consitution, then they can impeach him RIGHT NOW. They don’t need to wait for ANYTHING. They don’t even need to wait for an investigation. The fact that Congress is not impeaching Trump speaks volumes.
If you think this blunt little tool is going to unseat Trump then I have to laugh. It will fail just like Hawaiian judge Derrick Watson trying to dictate national immigration policy failed.
It’s not the Judiciary’s responsibility to micromanage the President, to tell the President where he can or can’t play golf, to tell the President what he can or can’t tweet, or any other thing that drives the Left insane.
What do you possibly imagine will happen here? What do you think the Court can do? What’s the “rememedy” for this “tort”? Order Trump to stay away from Mar-a-Lago? Order Congress to impeach Trump? The Court can do neither. And if the Court tries to overstep its authority, then Congress can impeach members of the Court. You did know that, yes? The President isn’t the only one who can be impeached. And if you think there’s a single judge who is more popular than Trump, then have them run for office and get 60+ million votes.
Troll on.
Gracious! A glance at the comments shows America no longer to be a threat to anyone outside its self! I’m wondering if such astounding behavior by women is symptomatic of societal collapse. Whatever happened to Russia Russia Russia!? Well, Russia just gave Syria some defense systems with real teeth in them, defying Israel, a definite shift in Middle Eastern dynamics, but I cannot find one singe US citizen paying any attention to that in America. It is all bitter, hysterical accusations and counter-accusations, with the present comments section typical.
Whatever happened to Russia Russia Russia!?
Hillary just declared a war on Russia on National TV:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxbJIpCbLY4&t=256
But americans are just too full of [shit?] themselves to pay any attention.
“We came, we saw, he died.” That just says it all. No further elaboration necessary. A quote that will hopefully make it into the history books allowing future generations to better understand these times.
In’er’sting! She’s still alive! In Japan, they’ve taken to just ignoring her, I guess. I was just asking my husband whatever happened to Hillary, and he hadn’t heard anything for several months either.
Still trying to kickstart that doggone war!
Well Pat, I’m one who has been watching all along. The Syria issue has always been a critical element to how close we are to it all falling apart and I have been keeping a close watch on Damascus since Regan was president. I follow Stephen Ben Nun who details the goings on between the ME nations on a daily basis:
https://israelinewslive.org/
Your point is well made however as it is very difficult to find many Americans who care, especially during football season.
Once burnt, twice wary
Iran promised to destroy Israel to prove to the Islamic world that Shiites are real Muslims. And Israel having missed on a promise to destroy the Jews in “Mein Kampf” now is once burnt – twice wary.
Thank you for the link, Walter!
I find it interesting that you have taken the position that Dr Ford must be lying because she is a democrat. Interesting, because you are analytical enough to know better. She may be lying. She may be mistaking Judge Kavanaugh for someone else. She also, much to your chagrin it seems, maybe telling the truth.
You also make a giant assumption that this incident was not traumatic for Dr Ford nor that it could be traumatic for anyone. How do you know? As you are well aware of we humans experience things in different ways. So why do you find it impossible to accept this now?
It is possible, if not completely likely, that the reason these traumas, such as Dr Ford has claimed, are coming out more and more is that they were always traumatic but our society was completely tone deaf to it. Perhaps we socially have never treated women as total humans but rather receptacles for semen and their increasingly loud demands are merely a reflection of this.
It seems that you have become one of the old white men who is more concerned with protecting other old white men that objectively looking at a situation. You are obsessed with the democrats and spout the line, “all things are in the control of the democratic part,” which is a provable nonsense.
Perhaps what I find most disturbing about your recent posts is your complete lack of analysis of the GOP. So tenacious has been your focus on the DNC that the party which controls the Executive, Legislative, and soon the Judiciary, as well as a majority of Gubernatorial positions etc has escaped even a cursory glimpse from you. Even the President’s call for the unredacted documents pertaining to the long-running Russia investigation only calls for select documents and not a peep from you on why not all of them.
At a time when the current administration is starting trade wars with allies, inflating national debt, cutting social programs, and attacking the media it would be good to hear your thoughts on that, rather than your obsession with the Clinton’s. How many investigations would you like there to be on the Clinton’s before we admit the horse is dead?
I find it unlikely anything I write here will change your focus onto actually looking at the administration, but why not give it a try.
If she is lying she is doing it really well. Some trauma would result from such a situation but we really can conclude that any trauma would have to be limited because Ford escaped from the situation unscathed.
Simple common sense. Ford’s brain would be spending time learning from the experience and she did, she did not want her father to know.
Her brain was not be spending time processing physical trauma which never happen beyond being manhandled while clothed. Something that has happened to most of us, man or woman as a child or as an adult. We don’t get frozen for life, we move on.
Is a man in need in therapy if in the process of being arrested he experiences being handcuffed and thrown onto the car-hood of a police car where he has to lick the paint clean while the cuffs dig into his wrists? No, of course not, people are resilient. Some dogs even survive being gang stalked by homeland security and live to bitch about it.
No need to get woo woo and cite psychology. Ford became a professor showing she was not devastated by the experience overmuch and the business of wanting an extra front door on her house is pushing the envelope a bit too much. It was not a situation which caused her endless trauma or this is another pic of Ford. Since that is not another pic of Ford more likely she has confabulated her guilt of being at the party onto Kavanagh and she believes it herself.
The last thing that can be relied upon in this situation is Ford’s memory, or Kavanaugh’s regarding what actually happened.
But the situation has revealed that Kavanagh to be a lying asshole. He wasn’t acting. He was behaving exactly like guilty people do when being accused.
Then again:
While taking a long walk through the city streets, a horse was being whipped by its owner. A stubborn horse who refused to move. In frustration the owner beat his horse. Distraught and enraged Nietzsche embraced the horse and then collapsed to the ground in madness.
Stranger things have happened. Perhaps Ford only pretends to be successful and really is devastated behind closed doors.
Damn! Sorry about the shout. Only the first 8 words in bold I wanted highlighted but I got to into the writing and forgot the closing tag.
“It seems that you have become one of the old white men who is more concerned with protecting other old white men that objectively looking at a situation”,
This tells me all I need to know. However, as one, I do not plan to go gently into that goodnight.Suicide is not an option, personal or culturally.
Ozone, that’s exactly the point. You hit the nail right on the head. WE agree. As you say:
Since we can agree that the US’s hegemony (gun-boat diplomacy) sell-by date has expired, this could get very interesting.
WE can agree and, not to belabor it, we DO agree, but it doesn’t matter because who the fuck are we? We put out our opinions in the cyber-world to vent or perhaps in the forlorn hope that MAYBE such untoward notions just might move the needle a wee bit in the maelstroms of events.
It could get very interesting and probably will. Know why? Well, you DO know why, of this I have no doubt. It will get interesting because the guys pulling the strings DON’T agree that the sell-by date has expired. They just can’t read the writing or they refuse to, and they act as if it’s business as usual with half the world in ruins post-WW2 with the USA as the premier world power by virtue of the fact that it was protected by two wide oceans.
But it ain’t 1950 no more. And the world is re-built. And America’s industrial might sits on foreign territory under the control of unfriendly powers. And, one of those powers, China, ain’t any longer a nation wrecked by invasion and civil war and the predation of Mao and his acolytes. And Japan and Korea are back on their feet. And Eastern Europe is no longer under the thumb of a foreign capitol and are resenting people Brussels and Berlin telling them what to do. And, not least, cheap energy ain’t on the menu anymore.
The economic and political landscape of the 21st C in other words is vastly changed from that of the mid 20th. But the much degreed and lauded Establishmentarian foreign policy elite are first and foremost inside-the-box thinkers and, for whatever reason, refuse to deal with it.
The economic and political landscape of the 21st C in other words is vastly changed from that of the mid 20th
But the geo-political and military is right back where it was in 1939.
The question is, will Theresa May be able to sell out British interests to Berlin and strike a new Munich agreement?
V.,
Despite the clumsy attempt at defection and misdirection by a certain someone unnamed, you’re exactly right to be pointing out that the parties steering the US ship of state are clueless as to their lack of power to control and manipulate other [truly ascendant] nations. The engine room is flooded and the rudder is no longer responding.
Again, WE agree, and we also know that the inability of our populace or politicians to acknowledge this will lead us into a deeper economic and societal disaster than if we would face facts and soberly plan for a constrained and very different future.
In this regard, we would do well to study [The Brutal Dictatorship of] Cuba’s example after they were cut off from the aid of Soviet Russia. Due to a for-their-own-good blockade by the benevolent US (the beatings will continue until they love us) they had to do for each other and sparse rations had to be shared with strict oversight so there were no hints of favoritism that inevitably causes bitterness and envy.
Consider that the US, with its huge landmass is agriculturally far more varied and better off than the isle of Cuba. We *should* be able to keep everyone reasonably well fed if the profiteers are denied their usual skimmings. As to resources for manufacturing? Well, between us Grumpy Gus’, perhaps we could take a page from the dread Russkis! (Heaven forfend we are forced to learn something practical from someone else!)
…And a bit of SE Asian ingenuity wouldn’t go down too badly on that front either. (Not to discount all them “uneducated” Americans who have plenty of will and experience to cobble together work-around, practical tech.)
We have warehouses packed with all manner of tech replacement “stuff” and spare parts; all of which can be repurposed from wasteful to useful Another bonus of an unanticipated oversupply.
Okay, I’ll quit. There is no foresight, thus no serious planning for serious eventualities. I’m of the mind that I’m simply venting about the lack of preparation for times of privation, and I doubt my mewling will move the needle of sober concern one whit. So, back to which corporate lackey will warm the Court bench with their nicely-padded, properly-educated ass while the rest of us are locked in steerage with nary a porthole to sight forward, never to anticipate or mitigate an onrushing doom.
…But I do thank you for a glimmer of agreement about blow-back and consequence in a thoroughly disagreeable “fog of bad faith” and cavalier lack of give-a-shit. It’s much appreciated and notes a possibility of cooperation in any attempt to overcome or blunt travails to come.
(Should have been ‘deflection’ in that first sentence. Oh well.)
Ps. Walter B. also shows us that there is a possibility of critical thinking in attempting to guide a community forward with insight and empathy. Although he’s currently mired in others’ fiscal bullshittery, that too shall pass when fools can no longer be suffered to waste sparse necessities.
Dearest Jimmy,
Are there any other accused sexual assaulters you’d like to personally exonerate of any wrongdoing, then offer up as possible Supreme Court Justice?

The FBI should interview some of Brett’s classmates. Liz Swisher, former Yale classmate of Brett Kavanaugh, told CNN’s Chris Cuomo that he lied to the Senate Judiciary Committee about his drinking habits.
James Roche, Kavanaugh’s roommate in the Fall 1983, also issued a statement saying that Kavanaugh was a “notably heavy drinker, even by the standards of the time.”
“(H)e became aggressive and belligerent when he was very drunk,” Roche said.
This is not a “he said, she said” … it’s a “he said, they said”
Actually it’s a she said, they said. All four of her “witnesses” have no memory of this event. She remembers virtually nothing—except that it was definitely Kav! But who knows what she will know tomorrow, since her story changes week by week.
First she said there were four others; then she said there were at least four others. First she said it was a party; then she said it wasn’t a party. First she said she doesn’t remember how she got home; then she said someone drove her. First she said she couldn’t fly; then she said she flies everywhere.
“….it is very difficult to find many Americans who care, especially during football season.” –Walter B
Walter, there is much more attention given to Israel than to the war in Yemen. But at least in Congress something is being done.
A bipartisan resolution was introduced in the House of Representatives Wednesday under the War Powers Act. If the bill is passed, it would formally end US military involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen.
The war in Yemen was never authorized by Congress, and US participation has become increasingly controversial, as Saudi airstrikes kill staggering numbers of civilians. This has led to growing resistance within Congress, though Congressional leadership has often sought ways to circumvent the votes.
Last year, the House offered a very similar War Powers Act resolution. Such resolutions are legally required to come up for a vote, though the leadership managed to block that one, and bargain their way down to a non-binding resolution.
Indeed, that bill and a Senate version came with the Pentagon claiming there were no US ground operations in Yemen involved in the war, a claim which later proved to be a lie. That in particlar has added calls for a re-vote.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), the lead sponsor, says he is confident that the new version of the bill won’t suffer the same fate, noting that support for the bill has expanded since then.
The support for ending the war both reflects incidents like the Saudi attack on a school bus in August, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s overt circumvention of the 2019 NDAA clause which obliged the US to halt aid to the Saudis until they did more to reduce casualties. Pompeo immediately declared they’d done enough, though the death toll has continued to rise.
Oh you who tout the value of words on paper should hearken back to the hard learned lessons of the uselessness of such lies from the dealings of the government with the indigenous people of North America:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_treaties
I have watched war for profit increase and spread across the globe for over sixty four years no with no end in site. Your sellout politicians will never end the practice until, like your buddie John McCain, they no longer have life in their useless carcasses.
Elrond has the greater wisdom in this as witnessed by the article he references.
Elrond sez : Wagging fingers and saying “go to the police” clearly doesn’t cut it even when she’s still 17 years old, not only 36 years later.
So, ladies, listen to Elrond. The conclusion is self-evident, reporting rape or sexual assault is futile. It does no good, in fact it can do a lot of harm.
So then, don’t report it, suffer in silence, shut up about it. Move on with your life.
“Wagging fingers and saying “go to the police” clearly doesn’t cut it even when she’s still 17 years old, not only 36 years later.”
She was 15 at the time Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her. He was 17.
Elrond indeed says all these things—unless Dr. Ford had accused HIS children with the same lack of evidence and corroboration. Then Elrond would indeed say something else…
Ex, I dunno whether volodya misrepresented me out of stupidity or malice. So far, I do see you preferring his misrepresentation to addressing what I actually wrote.
Actually, Elrond sez the following: “Sorry, volodya, but while telling your parents and the cops is necessary, and ought to be sufficient, it just isn’t.” (Emphasis added.)
Jeebus, this is the third time I’ve had to hit back at someone misrepresenting me, when my own words are right here on this page.
volodya, learn to read.
The world laughed at Trump at the UN. Trump has made the US the laughingstock of the world. Thanks to Trump, the tables have turned.
For years the US could force nations that wanted our support to make large weapons purchases or grant us unique concessions. No more, thanks to Trump. Especially after Trump’s trade wars, Trump’s tweets and Trump’s tough telephone calls, their price will be high, if not stratospheric.
Trump complains about other nations not paying their fair share. He really won’t like the expenses that await us. Maintaining international institutions will prove to have been a lot cheaper than managing more frequent global conflict. The assumption of their agreement with our policies will be gone. We will now be forced to pay handsomely when we want to gain the backing of many nations.
“So then, don’t report it, suffer in silence, shut up about it. Move on with your life.” –Volodya
How D.C. Prep School Culture Builds Men Like Brett Kavanaugh
“Brett Kavanaugh … is not an anomaly, or an accident. An entire ecosystem for white, male children of wealthy families exists that both encourages abusive behavior and covers it up.
Deirdre Bowen would know. In a USA Today op-ed, Bowen, now a law professor at Seattle University, details the world of D.C.-area private schools and the people who attended them, including the underage drinking, the violence and the expectation that women should suffer in silence from the consequences.”
https://www.truthdig.com/articles/how-d-c-prep-school-culture-builds-men-like-brett-kavanaugh/
Jeff Flake, senator from Arizona, the very embodiment of a cuck conservative, caved again at the critical moment to the demands of the Left by calling for a one week delay & a seventh FBI investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by Brett Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh had previously been vetted six times by the FBI, involving the interview of hundreds of Kavanaugh’s friends & associates with not one hint of impropriety.
What exactly was to be gained by the Republicans in calling for another investigation? Will it satisfy anybody? No, it will only encourage more left-wing loons to come forward with even more outrageous accusations. Presumably, the purpose of the delay was to win undecided votes in November. But seriously, the Republicans treat their constituents as severely mentally challenged to believe the average independent voter doesn’t understand that the Dems are & have been dealing in bad faith from the start, that they are unprincipled & will do anything to wreck Kavanaugh’s nomination. Such “upstanding” congress-critters & their minions as Maxine Waters are not constrained by the same rules as the Jeff Flakes. The doxxing of Republican senators’ phone numbers has been traced to a staffer in her office, it’s now been learned.
The vast majority of white Americans are civic nationalists. In a nutshell, this is the universalist idea that everybody can be successfully assimilated into American society, losing all but their most superficial characteristics by embracing fully “American” values. Of course, anyone who thinks about this for more than half a minute, taking into account all the contradictory evidence, sees that this is not true. It’s not even true that America has one universal set of values beyond the standard time-worn bromides which are reliably trotted out whenever troublesome questions arise.
This mindset among whites will have to change if this country is to be saved in anything resembling its current form into the second half of the 21st century. Personally, I have dim hopes that this change in mindset will be effected in time but one can not completely give up hope.
The large-scale immigration that we see today is, for the most part, not going to be converted into Republican votes. That Bush-era experiment has failed spectacularly. Newly-arrived Hispanics, the majority of whom are illegal, vote their economic interests, not lofty principles imagined by white voters. Similarly, newly-arrived asians & muslims, emphatically do not identify with the founding white population & its values. The tribal & collectivist societies they come from & whose attitudes they bring with them see as alien our way of life.
For the most part, hard-core Democrat voting elements, such as blacks & jews, are not going to be converted into Republican votes either. Sorry to break the news but many if not most of these populations are either indifferent to or actively hostile & contemptuous of what they call “flyover country” & of its reverence for the history & founding institutions of this country. We can kiss all that goodbye if they become permanently ascendant.
Free speech? Pffft! 2nd amendment? Pffft! Innocent until proven guilty? Pffft! Small government? Pffft! Equality under the law? Pffft! Freedom of religion? Pffft! Freedom of association? Pffft! Fruits of one’s efforts? Pffft! Individual conscience? Pffft! All of it will be gone if they have their way.
This Kavanaugh nomination circus is a good preview of what we can expect more & more of until the whole thing comes unglued if white American civic nationalists don’t get control of the monster they have created & which they are solely to blame for. It cannot be anybody else’s responsibility to recover what has been lost. We have to come to terms with our failures both abroad & at home to inculcate our universalist ideals into people who do not & cannot share them. We have to recognize the limits to these ideals if we are ever to recover what we have lost.
“a seventh FBI investigation into allegations of sexual abuse by Brett Kavanaugh.” –Tate
No, this would be the first FBI investigation since the last three women stopped suffering in silence and raised their voices to tell the truth about Brett Kavanaugh. An investigation ordered by your cult leader, by the way.
“Oh you who tout the value of words on paper…” –Walter B
Are you an anarchist, Walter B? Do you, who claims to work in local government, not deal with words on paper every damn day? Do you not believe in contract law? Property deeds? All words on paper, Walter B. Hypocrite.
I do not “work” in government, I am an elected public official. Putting more useless, meaningless words on paper, “legislating” is a waste of time and cash you fool. Look at how “far” it has gotten us. Look how many problems it has “solved”. See how many have been “saved” and “elevated’ by the right catchphrase on the right line. Simpletons like you may be comforted by the right words lied to you by your pretty masters, but climbing down into the pit and doing the everyday grunt work honestly and cost effectively and paying down and staying out of debt is what real government should be about. Do not preach to me you little twerp and I am sorry if I have had just about enough of your horseshit commentary. Seeing that you are not a constituent, I may as well give you a well deserved broadside. I suggest that perhaps you start handing out leaflets on street corners like your comrade Lee Harvey Oswald.
“We were socialized, as good Catholic girls, to protect our chastity, which meant we had to protect ourselves against boys. In essence, we could socialize with the boys in our prep school circles, but it was our responsibility to control the boys because they could not be relied upon or expected to control themselves. Any failure in that department was our shame alone. And alone we carried it.
Indeed, that was how male entitlement worked. Boys were taught that they could take what they wanted. It was not their job to protect females. It was their job to protect each other from their misdeeds no matter how big or alcohol-fueled. The boys kept each other’s secrets.” –Deirdre Bowen
You see how this works? Whites are “entitled.” Heteros are “entitled.” Males are “entitled.” It’s unjust that they be “entitled.” Therefore, the presumption of innocence? Fugedaboutit. Equality under the law? Don’t make me laugh. Individual conscience? Anything for the Greater Good. Control the language & you control the mind.
Settle down Janos.
Okay, janet.
I’m from Kavanaugh’s elitist world. I know how prep-school privilege buries secrets.
“Not all boys behaved in this manner. But some otherwise nice boys did engage in sexually aggressive behavior, especially when inebriated, without consequence. That Kavanaugh is an upstanding judge without even a “little blemish on his record” and thus could not have done what Ford asserts is a logical fallacy. Kavanaugh’s blemishless record is likely more a testament to the code of secrecy (or amnesia) among his school peers than a mark of his good character.” –Deirdre M. Bowen
Brett Kavanaugh still has to answer for sexual assault of the latest three women, which the FBI never investigated previously. Trump has ordered the first FBI investigation into the claims of Deborah Ramirez, Liz Swisher, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Julie Swetnick, Lynne Brookes, etc.
This is not just about gender or politics — it is about understanding the difference between right and wrong. Earning the seat on the highest court is not a birthright — it is an honor. And Brett Kavanaugh has not earned that honor.
Everybody is in a bubble of some kind which hides them from the stark reality of the real world. Senate members are in a bubble which prevents them from seeing that at this point if they confirm Kavanagh everybody is going to hate them for doing so. Having to put up with an obvious liar is not going to go down well with voters who have marginalized and frayed nerves. There will be consequences but the narcissism of those in the Senate I suspect makes them think shit won’t be sticking to their wings. It will. BAU has only been good for the rich and the rest of us are getting pissed. Having a bank account with basically a years wage in savings won’t earn enough interest to buy a steak dinner at the end of a the year for an average American thanks to free bailout money given to banks. JSP needs to be tossed a bone. No more rich welfare!
Kavanaugh is a stone in the backpack of revolution.
Could be a situation where it’s all good in a twisted sort of way no matter which way it goes.
“…if they confirm Kavanagh everybody is going to hate them for doing so.” –kdog
Men are so emotional. Hate is a strong word, Keith-dog.
Rather, I would expect the Dem base to become even more energized. I would expect both the House and the Senate to go blue.
Voting is more civilized, and more productive, than hating or violence.
Since you want to use my real name janet/Tate, what’s yours? Kind of strange to refer by one person here by their real name when everyone else is anon in here isn’t it? Especially strange for two avatars to be doing it to a person who does not know theirs. It could even be construed as being rude. In this case doubly rude.
If you’d like to remain anon you could ask JHK to forward your contact info to me and I’ll promise not to use your real name here if you wish but since you do want to use mine I want to know yours.

But anybody else could click the K-Dog link and go to my website. There at the bottom of the page is my real name. From that someone creative should have no problem identifying me. It is not about me being anonymous. I live in the real world like Jim does and here we it seems are the only ones.
When names are used both parties know the name of the person they talk to. It is about respect so for everybody faceless here I’m K-Dog not Keith.
That is after I fix the footer bar with my name in it. It disappeared. It should not take too long to fix. I’ll put an email there too. Then you won’t have to google.
It turned out to be there but took a while to load because since it at the bottom of my page the map plugins load first and slow things down.
Everyone’s just been too embarrassed to tell you you’re no ‘dog,’ Keith. I get it, you want people to think you’re a regular dude. Whatever. Lay off the references to your totem & I’ll start calling you K-dog again.
Better my totem than my scrotum.
