JHK’s lost classic now reprinted as an e-book

A nd so, on Christmas morning, having suffered the night visitations of vexing spirits — or was that just the strange interaction of Zyprexa and Zolpidem — Joe Biden woke up (in a manner of speaking) to find himself transformed. He was no longer dogged by the prospect of being president of the US, but, rather, was convinced he had become the provincial plenipotentiary of a Chinese overseas possession known as Golden Wok West, where CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping can order up any asset for take-out. What a relief, Joe thought, as they brought in his morning meds. Here, now, was a one-horse pony of a different color, Joe mused, chugging down his 5mg of Haldol.

Ol’ Joe went to bed on the blessed silent night fretting that soon he’d have to answer to all those caterwauling losers about to be tossed from their McHouses and apartments after nearly a year of nonpayment. But no, the shabby dwellings would now just become the property of the People’s Liberation Army, as that very fine organization prepared to sort things out in the flea market once known as America.

Was there anything left of value? Wasn’t that a puzzlement? The former so-called Yang-kees had squandered all their laid-up treasure turning their continent into a demolition derby — six-laners lined by muffler shops, chain stores, and fried food shacks — and when all their financial resources were used up, they’d borrowed so much more money that all the certified public accountants who ever lived could not keep up with the compounded interest calculations if they worked double-shifts until the end of time. In short, the self-demolition of America was fait accompli.

Now, all that was left for Joe Biden to do was to sign some paperwork and, maybe three times a week, emerge from his basement to smile and explain to eager members of the inquisitive news media why he preferred General Tso’s Chicken over Hunan Beef. At least that’s how things seemed to shake out in Joe Biden’s brain on Christmas morning as Dr. Jill helped him to the bathroom….

Then, there was the Golden Golem of Greatness, a.k.a. President Donald Trump. He arose from his rococo bed in Mar Lago unmolested by spookish visitations, but, rather, faced with some rather stark decisions about how to proceed with the possible takeover of the USA by agents of China. There was some sentiment among his advisors to send out US marshals and start arresting hundreds of persons suspected of gaming the recent election by means of ballot fraud and fiddling with Dominion vote tabulation machines. Or, other advisors countered, he might just tough it out until the great showdown in Congress January 6, when Vice President Mike Pence would preside over the touchy matter of which electoral delegation was worthy of pitching its votes one way or the other.

All this was a procedure that few Americans actually understood, but it did follow the recondite passages in the constitution regarding disputed elections… and it had been trotted out a couple of times before — 1824 and 1876 — in our now longish history of operating as a republic. It would require the state legislators of various swing states to search their very souls as they appeared to defy the official vote tabulation, and therefore some sense of the democratic underlayment to this complex business of legitimizing government. But the language of the constitution did, in fact, leave it up to them.

Half the nation would howl and commence to torching whatever was left to destroy in cities owned by Democratic Party mayors and governors — who would just stand by and let it rip. The 2018 Executive Order 13848 provides a justification for contending with foreign interference in a federal election (and its unfortunate potential after-effects, like rioting and looting). Ironic, I’m sure you are thinking, after Mr. Trump’s antagonists pressed that same foreign interference stratagem falsely back in 2016, and used it as a bludgeon to beat him about the head for four years. But perhaps there is something to it this time, and maybe the foreign power in question this time is China, not Russia. Where’s the evidence? You might prepare yourself to see it. I think it’s coming. This was a hard enough year, of course, without completely demolishing what little remained of America’s battered Christmas spirit. But that will be over in a few hours. And now that you’ve opened your meager presents, and gone through the other ritual motions of the holiday, the nation’s mood shifts from nervous repose to a determined resolution of this disgraceful affront to our honor. Are you ready for it?

      Merry Christmas, JHK. – RaymondR

      ===========

Have ya’ll ever noticed that there are at minimum 3 pronunciations of the word merry as in Merry Christmas?

      Mary Christmas
      Murray Christmas
      Meery Christmas

I say ‘Mary’ Christmas but don’t claim it is right or wrong.

      • Iananna December 25, 2020 at 2:34 pm #

One certainty, “merrie” it has not been.
Anyone hoping that this kidney stone quadrennial has been passed, however painfully through the urinary tract of democracy has not been paying attention.
This one will run & run though whether it plays in Peoria is doubtful.

“It was Christmas Eve and everyone was feeling Mary.

Mary got mad and left so they all jumped for Joy.”

    Fire on the Hills

The deer were bounding like blown leaves
    Under the smoke in front of the roaring wave of the brushfire;
I thought of the smaller lives that were caught.
Beauty is not always lovely; the fire was beautiful, the terror
Of the deer was beautiful; and when I returned
Down the black slopes after the fire had gone by, an eagle
Was perched on the jag of a burnt pine,
Insolent and gorged, cloaked in the folded storms of his shoulders.
He had come from far off for the good hunting
With fire for his beater to drive the game; the sky was merciless
Blue, and the hills merciless black,
The sombre-feathered great bird sleepily merciless between them.
I thought, painfully, but the whole mind,
The destruction that brings an eagle from heaven is better than mercy.

      That’s a beaut! Here’s an Emerson:

      Astrae

      Himself it was who wrote
His rank, and quartered his own coat.
There is no king nor sovereign state
      That can fix a hero’s rate;
      Each to all is venerable,
      Cap-a-pie invulnerable,
Until he write, where all eyes rest,
Slave or master on his breast.

I saw men go up and down
In the country and the town,
With this prayer upon their neck,
“Judgment and a judge we seek.”
      Not to monarchs they repair,
      Nor to learned jurist’s chair,
But they hurry to their peers,
To their kinsfolk and their dears,
Louder than with speech they pray,
      What am I? companion; say.
      And the friend not hesitates
To assign just place and mates,
Answers not in word or letter,
      Yet is understood the better;—
Is to his friend a looking-glass,
Reflects his figure that doth pass.
      Every wayfarer he meets
      What himself declared, repeats;
      What himself confessed, records;
      Sentences him in his words,
The form is his own corporal form,
And his thought the penal worm.

Yet shine for ever virgin minds,
Loved by stars and purest winds,
      Which, o’er passion throned sedate,
      Have not hazarded their state,
      Disconcert the searching spy,
      Rendering to a curious eye
The durance of a granite ledge
To those who gaze from the sea’s edge.
      It is there for benefit,
It is there for purging light,
      There for purifying storms,
      And its depths reflect all forms;
It cannot parley with the mean,
Pure by impure is not seen.
      For there’s no sequestered grot,
Lone mountain tam, or isle forgot,
But justice journeying in the sphere
      Daily stoops to harbor there.

“…the nation’s mood shifts from nervous repose to a determined resolution of this disgraceful affront to our honor.”

Indeed. It looks like it will fall upon the common people to resolve all this matter by force of arms. ALL the institutions of society – government, mid-level bureaucracy, education, media, the medical establishment – have been thoroughly infiltrated and subverted, and have failed. They are now the enemies of the people and the state. It really falls upon the people to rise up and defy them. First things first….STOP ACCEPTING HANDOUTS. Stop them from printing money and stealing from the future. Stop them from tying strings to you which they then pull at will. Start cultivating and practicing self-reliance.

You are a Transhumanist – as I thought. Not sure that’s any better than being a Nihilist though. In any case, you want this to happen in order to be proved right. That’s what is really important….

          • 100th Avatar December 25, 2020 at 2:14 pm #

            I don’t want.
            I only knew.
            What the issue is.

Not petroleum, not climate, not energy, not resources, not politics, not war, not the dying planet, not financial chicanery

People foremost, but too many of them.

I did not make it right. What gloating is this?
An answer as large as the elephant in a room?

I didn’t make you pretend it’s not there.
But that’s an elegance of the human mind.
If you let it. An operating system that presents you with a clean desk top. Unpleasantness filed away

I did not make the solution to it.
            Others are.
            But you can see that.
            Their solutions.
            You certainly do.

            I do not like them
            One bit

That does not mean they are not here.

And O-Bomber is going to take away your guns. Remember?

Oblamer used all his political capitol pushing through the un-affordable care act.
He was also a hold the finger up and check the wind style of leader he led by polling.
A larger amount of people own and support second amendment rights than do not.
Most Democrat politicians do not like guns in the hands of we the little people unless we are there over paid body guards.
There is even a movement afoot to take guns from cops like in England.

    • Paul December 25, 2020 at 11:42 am #

What are you going to do about the enormously bloated military? Are you planning to stop handouts to that complex as well?

      • BackRowHeckler December 25, 2020 at 12:42 pm #

Actually Paul, the US has a rather small army, fewer than 500,000 full time soldiers.

Grant commanded more troops than that in 1865.

The Bulgarian army entered WW1 with more than 500,000 soldiers.

As a comparison, NKorea: 7 million man army. China: 2 million man regular army, 10 million reservists.

Even the US Navy with around 300 commissioned ships seems a little undersized considering its myriad international responsibilities.

        Brh

        • Uncle Bob December 25, 2020 at 1:14 pm #

And no doubt Senile Joe and Kameltoe want to more than halve our military. The US is too powerful and un-Woke, you see, so they have to destroy what’s left of America to realize their goal of global socialism. And we’re the lucky people who get to either go along with it, go to a gulag, or end up in mass graves.

          Merry fucking Christmas!

We should be so lucky that Senile Joe and Kameltoe will halve our military. Most likely, since the deep state put them in, we’ll have another adventure (humanitarian intervention) that will cost us trillions and cause a lot of suffering for the benefactors (victims).

          • nclaughlin December 25, 2020 at 3:36 pm #

Unless you’re into some serious logistical exercise such as the provision of all transportation of people and freight nationally, it’s hard for me to see the purpose of a standing army of over 500 000.
Grant, I accept had more troops than that in 1865, but the need for cannon fodder was greater then. Let’s face it, just about everything that couldn’t be carried on horse or mule back or trains needed to be carried by hand back then, and infectious disease was always an unknown, but continuing threat.
N.Korea has an army of 7 million but theirs is a totalitarian state. Men are easier to control when they’re already part of an obedience structure for which death is always part of the equation. So there they are. China, again, after their experience in Korea, may have now learned their massed charges of human beings don’t work well at all, but their population is absolutely enormous.
I don’t know how mobile the Peoples’ Army is, but I suspect it is not all that mobile beyond China’s geographical borders.
Is the U.S. Navy undersized? It depends what your plans are and what your approach is. Apparently the country with the 4th largest Navy in the world in 1945 was — Canada — but there had been a real and emergent need for it in the 5 years preceding. It’s a different story now, of course.
There is, so I have heard, a complete and rational plan to reduce the cost and size of the U.S. armed forces that would make them smaller, more efficient AND effective than they are now.
I can’t for the life of me understand how there has not been a comprehensive audit of the beast. Clearly, if you don’t control it, it will control you.

          Merry Christmas, Brh!

        • Mike Roberts December 25, 2020 at 4:33 pm #

          According to this link:

          https://www.globalfirepower.com/active-military-manpower.asp

The US has 1.4 million active military personnel (ready to fight). With reservists, the number goes well over 2 million. Only much more populous nations (China and India) have more.

          • Paul December 26, 2020 at 10:22 am #

Very informative, Mr. Roberts. Thank you for this link.

        • Zoltar December 26, 2020 at 5:24 pm #

True, but not a meaningful measure of our military establishment. In order to make American militarism politically palatable the larger part of our war machine and its colossal budget is devoted to private contactors and high tech weapons systems that obviate boots on the ground.

And, of course, by far the larger part of its “mission” is to prosecute perpetual, illegal wars all over the planet.

To suggest that any part of the above is “rather small” is simply sophistry.

          • Uncle Bob December 27, 2020 at 11:44 pm #

            Space Ghost, where are you?

I love the Left’s term, “illegal war.” What constitutes a war? What makes one war “legal,” but not another? Could it be as simple as saying, The Democrat Party approves, so therefore, it’s a good war? But how can that be, when the lump of shit named Lyndon Brainless Johnson created the total clusterfuck that was Vietnam, the Eternal Hormone, BJ Clinton sent Americans off to die all over the place, and the sainted Barry Soetoro destabilized the Middle East and peddled US assets to friendly nations including Russia, China, and Iran? If you really want peace, you a) prepare for war, as the Romans said, and b) don’t give money to terrorist states or rival countries or sell fissile materials to Vladimir fucking Putin.

For all our alleged military strength, our generals and admirals tend to be politicians, not Pattons or Grants; they spend their time fighting for money and planning for the last war; and they’ve become as afraid of positive change and leadership as the rest of the Establishment. Thus, when Trump flexed American muscle and killed terrorists or took away things the Iranians and the Establishment liked, he was branded a son of a bitch. In reality, he was exercising good judgment and telling these children that playtime was over. That’s why so many people hate him and anyone who supports him: they’re a threat to the Establishment’s wasteful status quo of endless spending and endless warfare.

BTW, the United States technically hasn’t declared war since 8 December 1941, but we’ve done a lot of fighting since then, often because the military is sent off to fight because somebody else won’t or because of connections with the Establishment (e.g., Kuwait).

      • J. Dean December 26, 2020 at 12:18 pm #

I tend to agree. But it’s less the size of the military, and more the expense. Not shown in the military strength numbers are all the private contractors our military uses. We use private contractors to do everything: clean toilets, cook food and fix humvees. And even fight (Blackwater). Does all this outsourcing to the “private sector” really reduce defense costs? I’d like to see an accounting of that! Former soldiers and special ops people leave the military and then join a private contracting firm where they bleed the government, essentially going back to do a very similar job but making 2-3 times more salary than when they were in uniform.

Something tells me we could shave at least 10-20% off the defense budget just by fixing the broken and corrupt contracting racket that lives in the Swamps of D.C.

        • beantownbill. December 26, 2020 at 12:58 pm #

Hmm. Doesn’t that remind you of the later Roman Empire hiring many foreigners for its military? I’m waiting for our military to start hiring Indians, Africans and other foreigners – a telltale sign of a fading empire.

Yet I bet you have no problem when the Leftist Zombies do it, right? Antifa and BLM?

In fact, you’re wrong. Militia and Posse are as American as apple pie. And if President Trump was to ask, millions would answer his call.

        • Iananna December 25, 2020 at 2:52 pm #

Your “…if President Trump was to ask, millions would answer his call…” suggests Milton’s “Paradise Lost” book 2 – the debate in Pandemonium (an apt description on the Benighted States) on how the seize power.
Moloch demands all out assault “…Millions that stand in Arms, and longing wait The Signal..”.
          That did not end well.

We are now living in the age of “Space Force”.

If there is a major international military conflagration it will be the obliteration of major telecommunication satellites and the zapping of major power generating stations in key countries, thus taking the world back to The Stone Age or “A World Made By Hand”.

Gone are the days where the Japanese were worried about “a gun behind every blade of grass” in the United States with the East and West coast now just a bunch of “Woke” gunless kooks.

Time to wake up. Or maybe it is too late?

Ironically those with the zillions of dollars are the Davos/WEF/Bilderberg crowd who enjoy their jet-setting lifestyles too much to ef it all up.

            And here we are.

            Happy New Year?

          • Uncle Bob December 27, 2020 at 11:47 pm #

Abby, it’s too late. Sanity is gone.

        • Paul December 25, 2020 at 3:08 pm #

Yohannon, no. My rejection of ‘force of arms by the ‘common’ people’ applies to all. I’m definitely not wrong when I say there is no good from a bunch of hoons shooting in the streets, whatever color they are, blue, red, green, white, black, yellow, purple or brown. Both Milita and Posse are manifestations of the power of the State. As such, they may consist of the common people, but they are not the mob.

I suppose the test of the use of tactical violence depends on what it is your goal is, your reasonable expectations of a outcomes.

I think that if what you say about Mr. Trump’s ‘ask’ is true and millions’ were to answer his ‘call’ there’s one thing I know: many millions probably need something better to do.

It seems things are starting to happen. It looks like a car bomb went off in downtown Nashville. I haven’t watched CNN yet, so I don’t know what to think about it.

That bomb in Nashville is not a good sign. Downtown business districts in many cities already moribund due to Covid shutdowns, and massive looting and vandalism by BLM, Antifa and free range community member impromptu shopping sprees (which continue to this day). Car bombs will just about finish these cities off as places to live and do business.

The train derailment in Seattle is not a good sign either. BLM and Antifa terrorists moving out from their urban base, taking the fight into the heart of America.

            BRH,
Well with the bombing and the derailment, we might expect the opposition, but who knows? I do suspect, however, that Republicans and those of a conservative bent rarely target the first responders…that seems to be a Maoist thang. Stay safe, and have a great Christmas.

          benr,
I would suggest that the biggest “bang for the buck” would be attacking the electrical grid, one substation at a time…a few well- placed rifle rounds can and will, over several weeks, result in the follow on deaths of multiples of thousands. Many of the transformers currently used are custom made, and lead times for replacement are counted in months, or years.

I know that the bandits are well aware of these soft, thinly defended targets. I lay in bed, at times, thinking about this major vulnerability…and of course, Taiwan and my Johnson….

        @Paul

It doesn’t matter. Better to die on your feet than live on your knees. Do you know what it has been like, these past few months? Mobs burning cities down, the far left slandering America and its values and tearing down statues, the relentless assault on the decent and honest people of America (eg the McCloskeys being persecuted for daring to defend themselves), and finally and most brazen, audacious, egregious and shameless of all, defrauding the largest election in the richest, most powerful, most law abiding country in the world. The ONLY reason that conservatives hadn’t picked up their guns in the preceding months and gone to town on these mother-fuckers is because they are decent and reserved people, who are content to settle their differences with the opposite camp at the ballot box. Now that the enemy has desecrated the ballot box and dishonored the fair vote, what remains? Armed conflict.

I’ll tell you how every conservative should feel in his heart right now: Imagine you’re in prison, and a gang descends upon you, forces you to bend over, gives it to you one after the other, and after it’s all done, you are made to say that nothing happened and that you are glad that it happened. Do you get my point? There HAS to be a threshold where people say, “Enough is fucking enough! I want revenge! I want blood! Let there be blood!” Every SJW from San Francisco to Miami should be rounded up, taken to the outskirts of town and shot. America, under the influence of these forces of evil, CANNOT survive the continuing rot of its moral fiber at this rapid a rate.

Sadly, you may have a point. I seem to have overlooked the fact that 7 decades of unbroken peace, prosperity and stability have unmade men. They’ve become fat, lazy, domesticated and complacent. This is especially so when government, a necessary evil that is only tolerated for the sake of maintaining ordered liberty, decides that its role is to FACILITATE the disorder, crush the economy, and to give aid and comfort to domestic terrorists, foreign invaders, and criminals at the expense of law abiding citizens.

Throw into this mix the complete and total destruction of public confidence in the integrity of the electoral process and people simply give up on the ballot box and reach for the cartridge box.

If oceans of blood of Leftist cretins runs in the streets in 2021 it will be 100% the fault of the corrupt and treasonous Democrat Party leaders and all of their fevered-brow supporters.

A cold splash of water in the face for Christmas morning.

Think about all this as part of a bigger picture, THE big picture.

What is God doing here? Has the vaunted USA just stepped over the line is His eyes? Is He looking elsewhere for a people to represent what he intends Mankind to be?

Are we on our own now? Without a guiding Light and His set of principles, will the USA just sink into a cesspool of stinking sewage. Sure seems that way. With the Chinese there pushing us into the Swamp, along with their biggest allies, the Deep State.

This is one time when JHK does not need to hasten the time line. Foreign interference has just swung two elections to what other countries want. Russia with Trump to stop the Chinese excursion into our government and now China in 2020, putting their boy into first place, with no possible way for the anti-China folks to win. This election was “in the bank” for the last year or so. Biden hid in his basement because he did not have to campaign.

Now Biden has to deal with Putin, his worst “enemy” as his party alienated him for four years. That should be interesting.

China is simple. Like with Obama, China will get whatever it wants. The USA will continue its descent into the pit as China ascends.

Watch for the desertion of Taiwan as one of the first steps along with the re-emergence of the TPP. Predictions have been made that China will surpass us by 2050. IMHO, those predictions are way too far out.

We are the biggest loser here, but Russia loses out also. I think Trump realized this and set China as the number one opponent. The European contingent of the world has just taken a huge hit.

    • Paul December 25, 2020 at 12:32 pm #

JohnAZ, “What is God doing here? Has the USA stepped over the line? Is God looking elsewhere?”

Allow me to proffer a few possible answers, just for shits and giggles: 1) Dog is NOT here. Dog is where he has always been — tending his garden. WE are the ones who got barred.

      2) Yes, the USA has stepped WAY over the line and did so many, many years’ ago, by their continuing rationalization of VIOLENCE as a reasonable response to DISAGREEMENTS.

      3) Dog is not looking elsewhere, etc. Dog knows that humankind is what humankind is. Dog knows that humankind has the capacity but not the desire to ascend to Dog-likeness, but Dog has been waiting a long time for humankind to get a round to it, but as Doonsbury observed: “Jesus is coming, honey but I ain’t waitin’ up nights.”

God has been warning us for a long time, but we’re too self-absorbed and self-righteous to notice. Natural disasters, financial reversals, unrest in the streets, foreign intrigue, bizarre weather patterns (e.g., 40+ inches of snow fell where I live a weeks ago; it’s mostly melted thanks to Christmas torrential downpours) — they’re all curses that are described in the Old Testament for people who say they follow God but do everything but. My honest appraisal is, we’ll continue to fuck around until we’re annihilated as described in Rev. 17 and 18 unless we repent — if it’s already not too late.

And so the prez decides $2000 smackaroos are better than a mere $600. Why not $10,000,or better yet a cool mil $ At this point is there really a difference? The best thing IMO is for the wheels to fall off sooner than later. Don’t give them time to put the Stassi apparitis in place. Fat people don’t start revolutions. Well people need money to buy things and pay bills. 2000 buys a lot more than 600. And to remind you, the Government has destroyed much of the economy with this covid nonsense – a Globalist campaign of terror against the world. They kind of owe something don’t you think? But instead they’re trying to use the money to spread this sick culture to even more parts of the world.

    • Paul December 25, 2020 at 1:46 pm #

$2000 is a lot better than $600, at least it is on the planet I live on. $10,000 spread over the calendar year could mitigate some harm; it would help keep poor people warm, dry and fed and beyond survival, it would open up the opportunity for them to participate in their own recovery. I’m not in favour of wheels falling off anything because they are so useful when they’re on their axles.

The U.S. version of the Stassi apparatus is already in place and has been for some time. It dwarfs everything the original Stasi. It seems to be working quite well, so they say.

“Fat people don’t start revolutions”. I’m with you there. It’s time once again for me to get serious about losing a few.

My son and I were talking about this just the other day. He was bitching about his weight, and so was I. I observed that the exact genetic predisposition of my body, (and his and his brothers’ bodies) to grab onto fat and store it for future use is a big part of the reason that we are here. Of 300,000 or so generations of human beings, we are the ones who have survived EVERY famine, EVERY plague, and EVERY pestilence. It’s just that now, the times having been so good for so long, we have WAY TOO MUCH FAT in reserve. My son, who has a couple of degrees now and has an educated basis for his opinions that’s knowledge-based, said we could probably eat nothing for the next six months, drink only water and Labrador Tea and “Still not starve”. In fact, he said, “We’d probably be healthier after six months than we are right now!”

To Lennon’s credit, he made an about-face on his idealism. He renounced his efforts in the World Aid events for famine relief in Africa, realizing it was a scam where the money went directly into the bank accounts of dictators, and whatever was left was scooped up by smaller fry — the equally corrupt bureaucrats.

An interesting coincidence is that within a couple of weeks of each other, Lennon is blown away with a .45 but the patsy who tried to get Reagan only had a .22 (9mm) – even Brady, who was shot in the head, survived.
This in a country so full of easily obtained major weaponry.
          Odd that.

      Rock,
Well, there is education, and there is wisdom. The youth have education, but no wisdom, the old, many have wisdom but no education…the fortunately anointed have both.

Wisdom is life experience seen through the veil of education. It is a filter for the cultural/political vectoring of a liberal arts education. A Marine will, through his enlistment, gain much wisdom. A Marine will rarely be considered “Woke”, for he has seen life stripped bare of adornments…he understands life’s lessons.

In order to invoke EO 13848, the president needs allies, a lot of them. Ideally these should be his cabinet and White House staff. Yet from what I hear, Trump is being told by many around him that he should concede.

General Michael Flynn and Sidney Powell still want to fight on, but are there enough others loyal to the Constitution to correct (NOT “overturn”) the results of this election? Hopefully the newly-appointed Sec. of Defense is loyal to Trump.

So here we are on the very brink of a Biden theft of power and what are we getting?

Why a preview of what the next four years will look like.
    Iran rattling the sabre incessantly!
Each opposing group will murder some one of interest in a tit for tat dash for global war.
War in the middle east and most likely everywhere else as one proxy battles it out with another.
The cheery cherry on top is Communists (antifa) bombing things all over the country. Nashville seriously Nashville?
Jingle bells jingle bells that bomb residue smells!
Oh what fun it is to drive a smoking sleigh today!
Rudolph got his very own bomb filled vest so fuck the rest and Biden is the best.

Not a very rosey take on things and when they find the asshole that set off that bomb I hope they hang them from their thumbs.
The problem I suspect this incoming administration will give them a medal and a pat on the ass instead. I could be wrong but leftist shit holes have done next to nothing to punish people for essentially doing a slow rolling destruction of cities by looting and burning down everything in site.
In the end the result is the same burned out hulks and out of business signs everywhere.

Just tell me something good, without violence or rancor. Otherwise, 2021 will be a repeat of 2020, now the new normal.

BTW, I agree with JAZ about Taiwan and Communist China. Soon China will act to scoop up the Island, and we will scream, shout and throw a temper tantrum, all to no avail. Funny thing, as I was lying in bed this morning, I was thinking that Taiwan would soon be history. Maybe great minds do think alike.

I should start a pool to bet how long Biden lasts as President. Probably not the full 4 year term.

Well we have to admit to ourselves that we’ve been utterly ridiculous. Building up a proud, alien, and resentful (after what the West did to them) Civilization and Now we wonder if we did the right thing?

Of course Taiwan is gone. What are we going to start a nuclear war over that? If “we” had a shred of decency, we wouldn’t have betrayed Chiang Kai Shek in favor of the Communists (again Capitalism/Communism is one system).

Another of “our” great deeds in China: The British East India Company and the Sassoon family set out to make the whole Nation into opium addicts. And then the kicker: they tried to cut the Chinese out of the all of the profits as well. Not satisfied with operating on ports, they tried to take over from Chinese dealers inland on the rivers. China then declared war.

Needless to say we should defend ourselves. Boycott them entirely and watch them collapse. We can’t have normal relations with something this evil – even if we helped to create it. There would have been plenty of challenges even if we had supported Chiang Kai Shek and the normal Chinese people. But this regime is a bridge too far all entirely.

I do not see a viable group structured as necessary that will coalesce into an organized, initially non violent, entity. The former candidates are all composed of old – my age- mostly overweight, non practicing good ol boys ie; American Legion, Veterans of foreign wars etc. Those of use with the experience to impact cannot sustain the necessary efforts that will be needed, even if one works out daily, with structured, strenuous effort. Too long to recover and I do not, initially see an easy day presenting itself. I focus on my area of operations, having made assessments of go-no go neighbors, ranged points 360, lines of comm thru the entire ao. Visualization is a VERY powerful tool to be used incessantly. Now, I DO NOT see engagements occurring either here or my traversing out looking for trouble. Calm focused training, monitoring the hedge, cfn for cogent observations, scanning the local media. Ready for it?

    The “it” now is “woke”

As if their confrontation with epistemology is something new.
Unlike the intellectuals, they haven’t attempted to map out the conclusion

People have been pondering the results for a very long time.

    Nietzsche:

I praise, I do not reproach, [nihilism’s] arrival. I believe it is one of the greatest crises, a moment of the deepest self-reflection of humanity. Whether man recovers from it, whether he becomes master of this crisis, is a question of his strength. It is possible. . . . (Complete Works Vol. 13)

    Others not so sure

“If we accept that all perspectives are equally non-binding, then intellectual or moral arrogance will determine which perspective has precedence. Worse still, the banalization of nihilism creates an environment where ideas can be imposed forcibly with little resistance, raw power alone determining intellectual and moral hierarchies. It’s a conclusion that dovetails nicely with Nietzsche’s, who pointed out that all interpretations of the world are simply manifestations of will-to-power.”

    Sounds familiar

    Arrogance decides
    Power decides

    Power has FANGS these days

    and a deep state

    • Yohannon December 25, 2020 at 2:12 pm #

Well obviously all things are not for all people. Human hierarchy is pretty basic. Nietzsche certainly accepted this. Are you still struggling? Most people are followers who need the normal crutches. Don’t be a proud crip falling down in the middle of the street because you won’t accept that you don’t need something at least, if only a cane or brace.

Sure, the higher one gets the fewer one needs. Would you take them away from people or something? No? Ok, what is your issue or problem?

Again, if we set up something to (try) raise (some) Men up unto these Heights, you would call us Nazis because that was their Plan as well.

“Again, if we set up something to (try) raise (some) Men up unto these Heights, you would call us Nazis because that was their Plan as well.” — Yohannon

Yes, “the jackboots loved Nietzsche” reflexive nonsense is the lie that gets repeated so often it becomes casual cultural acceptance.

Nietzsche was all about individual power, and certainly against all forms of conformity, whether the religion of the New Testament, which he abhorred, or the evils of feckless academics.

He was prescient as regards the dictatorial movements of the 20th century, and he is still prophetic as regards our current crises.

Overcoming was about the self, because once the self is overcome — squeamishness, cynicism, sentimentality — power, through grace, is bestowed, and that kind of power can only engender good results, just as the sun shines without concern or even knowledge of the good it’s doing.

        • Yohannon December 25, 2020 at 3:09 pm #

Yes, they took from him what they wanted as do you, as does everyone.

Let’s face it, he was weak on the social. So they were right about that, not him.

His society of Aristocrats and their peons is strangely familiar and even attractive in some ways (am I not broad? do I not contain multitudes without being Legion?), but could it stand against the Red Chinese or people like that?

          No.

On a parallel: Could the Germanic, Celtic, and Slavic Pagans have staved off Islam?

No. But Rome could have at its height. A hint for those with open minds.

The individual and society, religion and politics, converge and diverge in ways that support, but also cancel, one another.

If I read you aright regarding “the social”, I’d say that Nietzsche had little patience or even interest in how societies could use political power in a world where only the Aristocracy was enlightened. So yes, he was weak on it, but then his eternal recurrence theory, rehashed or repurposed from Hinduism, accepted it as fate that the peons wouldn’t be up to the task of defending themselves from invading forces (intellectual or martial). Was he not proven right re totalitarianism, whether regional or international?

We’ve moved light years away from how warfare is conducted. The difference between WWI and WWII is enormous. The difference between WWII and the situation today is unfathomable.

Which brings us to Carr’s banalization of nihilism

          AKA Wokedom

          Raw power. A movement.

What is truly abhorrent is that they masquerade in intellectualism.
When they have not thought it through.
          Again, many try, many failed.
It is where philosophy meets psychological horror.
And we know these woke campus dimwits and their parrots have not gone that far. It’s sophomoric and embarrassing.

          “I don’t know”

          The scariest words to many.
          What do we know? Truly?

Jumping off from the shoulders of giants: what do YOU know?
We present the knowledge of others as our own.
          All the time.
Never prefaced with, “It’s commonly accepted..” or “many have concluded”
That would be taxing. As would be to admit you really don’t know, or worse yet, don’t really know what “to know” even means.

Alas, I’m not scared of those words, but I am of the three that must follow

          “What to do”

Getting through life not knowing is a breeze.
          Not knowing what to do?
Not so much, but that is where this intellectually dishonest pandering towards nihilism “Wokeness” is taking us.

They only know to burn it down.
          That’s the easy part

          • Rulo Deschamps December 26, 2020 at 2:33 am #

“’I don’t know’ The scariest words to many. What do we know?” On good days, almost nothing. On bad days, nothing at all. 50 years in God’s garden, laboriously harvesting pigeon peas, for what? I thought the basket was full more than once, but was wrong. It was an illusion. Birds, squirrels kept stealing the peas every time I stopped for a drink of water. Each pea is an “I know this”, but there’s only a pitiful few in my basket. Life, experience, and thought are the birds that stole my peas. I am more ignorant now than at 25.

“We present the knowledge of others as our own”: I’ve made that mistake more than once and hope not to make it again, but I may. If it’s stupid to make the same mistake more than once, then I’m stupid. You read some screens and books, I read others – yet we don’t know jack. We’re equally naked. The passionate intensity invested in the books and screens of my 25 was misplaced, ridiculous. The one pea I encountered at that age not eaten by squirrels so far was not from screen or book, but from visionary mushroom. “Officer, I’m not here for the revolution – I’m here for the mushroom”. I couldn’t explain that particular pea, but I have it.

Other peas I have, maybe enough for a Spartan meal in Hades, the love for my children and family, although they sometimes disappoint me as I disappointed my ancestors, the loyalty for the few friends that didn’t fade away, although they disappoint and I disappoint, etc. I think I also know not to want to be rich, the more material goods the more barren your life and so on. Or it may be that I was never tempted hard enough. I know work, physical work on field and orchard is good for you, although when it’s 100 degrees out and no-see-ums a torment, the thought of how good a cold beer in the shade would be becomes knowledge, solid and real, too.

“Alas, I’m not scared of those words, but I am of the three that must follow, ‘What to do”: Those 3 words are the whole of philosophy, and I enjoy having philosophers here such as you, 100th Avatar, as well as others, starting of course with our host Mr JHK. What to do, what to do… Let’s think some more about it, but there’s time for thought and time for action, and thinking is not doing, and there’s times we HAVE to do something, not just think.

Exactly who has the power to order and coordinate the shutdown of entire city- and state-wide economies on the flimsiest pretext of a “pandemic” apparently no worse than a bad yearly flu?

Exactly who has the power, after coordinating the shutting down vote counting overnight, to ham-handedly order the complete reversal of an election despite eye witnesses and a thousand historical anomalies, yet try to make it stick?

Exactly who has the power to dictate and coordinate what the mainstream media and the social media platforms can say and do?

Exactly who has the power to corrupt our courts to such an extent they will not even hear evidence, much less rule?

Exactly who is this enemy that openly attempts to exercise such blatant, naked power over us and the whole world?

In these trying times I recommend JHK’s “Living in the Long Emergency” as a must-read. Not only does he define the crisis, his interviews with, and assessments of, the strategies used by Adapters is an invaluable map for navigating the emergency we are living.

Living in the long emergency is as much about mental attitude and ability to manage change as a part of everyday life as it is about acquiring and developing specific physical skills.

A closer look reveals he believes that of which he writes, evidenced by his personal choices regarding living, surviving, and experiencing some tranquilly amidst the chaos.

    Best wishes to all!

“Trump is and will remain your president.”

Genuine question – how does this happen? All 50 states have certified their electors, and so far none of the six swing states have indicated that they will meet and certify an alternative Trump slate.

Mike Pence doesn’t have powers to pick between competing slates … both houses (separately) have to vote a majority to do that, and that seems totally unlikely.

        • FreddieMars December 26, 2020 at 12:52 am #

The dueling electors in the 7 swing states. The casting process is overseen by Pence. You must learn your Constitutionz.

          • Tekapo December 26, 2020 at 9:41 am #

What do you mean by the casting process? And while VP Pence chairs the Joint Session, it is my understanding that he has no determinative say in choosing or tallying the electoral college votes.

Without a majority vote by both the House and Senate to reject or overturn or replace a slate, the one certified by government officials stands, and Biden gets to 306. Am I mistaken?

And what is the role of the safe harbor provision? All the states made that date except Wisconsin.

          • FreddieMars December 26, 2020 at 9:57 am #

So this is your new “last hope”. I thought you said you’d been correct in all your predictions to date.

            Let’s see…

Originally, it was the DHS isotope watermarks on the GENUINE ballots…nothing there.

Then it was the courts with incontrovertible & indisputable evidence…kicked to the kerb more than 50 times…

Then to ‘The Mighty Kraken’ with “biblical effect’…a complete fizzer.

            Then SCOTUS…still no joy.

Now you seriously believe Pence is going to choose to ignore the verified results from the swing states and, on no particular authority, count instead the bogus GOP Elector Slates?

Who needs to know the Constitution? The President of the Senate ‘shall open and COUNT the votes’ of the Electoral Colleges as verified by their legislatures. Note – be shall ‘count’ them, not decide whether their verification is legitimate.

Pence, as I’ve said before, is a spineless cardboard cut-out. He’s also not that stupid and knows the party’s over. There’s no way your delusional expectation will be fulfilled on Jan 6th. So, what’s Plan F, after that?

Oh, right – EO13848…where’s this definitive report from the DNI IG? Wasn’t that supposed to drop last Friday? And Martial Law. Right. That ones got some legs, for sure.

            LOL

          • FreddieMars December 26, 2020 at 10:02 am #

’ The dueling electors in the 7 swing states.

What’s so ‘duelling’ about them? There’s the legitimate, certified Electors, then there’s the sad-assed loser whiners who are pretenders. They have no standing, and Pence will not play this farcical game.

          • Night Owl December 26, 2020 at 6:11 pm #

Do you know what dueling electors are?

            It would appear not.

          • Tekapo December 27, 2020 at 11:19 pm #

“Do you know what dueling electors are? It would appear not.”

From my reading, the shadow electors for Donald Trump who met on 14 December are uncertified and have no legal standing, and therefore aren’t equal in a dueling sense.

Only the Joe Biden electors were certified by the swing state governors, and therefore they are the ones that must be counted. In any case the House of Representatives wouldn’t reject them, and even the Senate most likely won’t either.

And all states except Wisconsin met the safe harbor deadline, so they should be guaranteed to be considered “conclusive”. Am I missing something critical?

    • FreddieMars December 25, 2020 at 7:08 pm #

If used judiciously and not too often, a cuss word now and then can be quite effective.

A few years ago I took my wife into NYC to the Cooper Union* where JHK was delivering a talk. I recall him slipping in the word ‘fuck’ and drawing a mild titter of laughter from the audience. We were not aghast.

In grad school I had a very popular prof for a course in banking. (Last name Nadler; first name I’m not sure but maybe Paul). He sprinkled his lectures with profanities and received gales of laughter. To my astonishment he once got away with using the word ‘cunt.’

“The former so-called Yang-kees had squandered all their laid-up treasure turning their continent into a demolition derby — six-laners lined by muffler shops, chain stores, and fried food shacks… the self-demolition of America was fait accompli.”

The record of history — if there is such a thing in the future — will record that the high point of the American Experiment was the decade of the 1950s. Sure, there was the ugliness of racial injustice and bland conformity. But it also was the decade of the peak of middle-class American prosperity and national civility. And there was something else, too. A sense of HOPE reigned supreme. Hope that you and your kids could succeed. Hope that Tomorrow will be better than today. The hope born of a belief that as a Nation we stood for something special and we were on the right track. Little did we know that the Dark State (which had already long existed) had well-planned the demolition of the USA beginning with deindustrialization and propaganda programs for our youth and other hidden attacks on Americans and then coming soon… the murder of an American president.

The removal of JFK was the undeniable turning point for the Nation and for the loss of the sense of HOPE when the Nation fully went off the disappearing rails and began a long slow-running derailment and wreckage (just as the real American railroads were being erased and consolidated into nothingness). From that moment forward, the demolition project was on in full effect. These days, we are simply getting to the End Game of this long project of self destruction and loss and erasure of National spirit.

“This was a hard enough year, of course, without completely demolishing what little remained of America’s battered Christmas spirit.”

The complete demolition of the Christmas spirit… of OUR spirit — and the theological and spiritual underpinnings of the Christmas season, is the climax-shot of all this foreplay if you know what I mean. That’s when the very last of the air is let out of the American psyche balloon and myth of Exceptionalism and then fear and confusion and rootlessness emerges in the aftermath to soon consume the Nation completely thus finishing the Grand American Demolition Project.

Ralph Kramden on The Honeymooners once said, “Be kind to the people on the way UP, because you’re going to meet the same people… on the way DOWN.” To which his pal Norton replied, “How true! Happens to me every day in the Sewer”. To that, we could all say, happens to us every day living in The Great American Swamp.

So the lesson for 2021? Be kind.

“Then, there was the Golden Golem of Greatness, a.k.a. President Donald Trump…”

    Then there was indeed.
And a Golem he is. And what we need.
The instability of this golem is his greatest strength.
    Protect the village
    or destroy it?

How about both, or the former vis a vis the latter?

And there is no better golem for this.
A spoilt alpha male. The archetypal alpha.

Never having to pander and capitulate and debase himself like a politician. The career politician. The lawyer.

No. He’s a man that always got his way. Read his conquest of the Kluge estate. It reeks of privilege and the type of self-congratulatory behavior that a wounded man relishes.
Always having to prove his worth.
Supposedly we can thank his cold father.
Alas, like sausage, we should not witness the making of a golem.

We just need the right ugly ingredients.
And again, Trump is what is needed for this.

“You mean I’m not in control?”
    “I’m the President!”
    “I’m the NY Billionaire!”
“I’m perfect.. with perfect hair (about that water pressure)”

These bureaucratic nobodies think they’re the boss?
These military closet cases? These intelligence agency cryptos?
They think I’m going to let them
    control
    me?

The best possible person to witness the big reveal
    It’s not what anyone thinks
    or imagines
    And he’s not afraid.
    He’s the NYC Billionaire
    TV star
)Did you see my ratings? Before NBC made, big, big mistakes?)

    Least of all Trump
He thought he was going to be the boss

And we all witnessed, at least those of us paying attention, the throes of one not relenting to the system.

Yet this is what I wanted.
    The scarecrow outing the wizard.
    Pulling down the curtain
    Destroying the enemy
    Destroying the village

RoundballS @ 1900: Too many give undo credit to a cabal of “deep staters” that have a preternatural ability to see into the future and thus manipulate we wogs to do their evil bidding. Events transpire that SEEM to reveal a grand plan. Alas, no such plan is possible, what with the savanna apes limited ability to cede power to more than himself.
VietNam, in my humble opinion, was the opening of the positive feedback loop, by which the MIC became aware that “Congressional” personages were, in fact, For Sale. Totally different paradigm! We now are witness – in the last week – of this paradigm in awesome display. No opacity, no wizard (no offense Wiz) of OZ curtain pulled back needed. Pure unadulterated expression of power on display. We now openly oppose OR withdraw – exactly how to oppose I cannot say, given the large missing in action segment of our society – or cede control of federal power to those who had the requisite focus to wrest control of random events – covid – to further their agenda. As ref, GEN Patton absolutely nailed the ideation we need. To dawdle now will multiply our efforts greatly in the future. Finally, Avoid giving credit to any unless a certainty of ownership of events is assured. Nuff Said

That bomb in Nashville was no little firecracker; it was quite a blast.

    Why Nashville?

Numerous arson fires set in Portland Christmas morning, and in Arkansas, LE arrests 4 BLM/Antifa ‘Journalists’ for arson and many other crimes for tossing molotov cocktails at police cars late last summer. The Feds have a long memory, and I dare say, 40 years from now when one of these Revolutionaries show up at the Social Security office to claim benefits, US Marshall’s will be there waiting for them, having been identified as the person who set a police car on fire in Philly, vandalized a Federal CH in Portland, or attacked a cop in Seattle. (In the summer of 2020) These goddam fools will have to be looking over their shoulders for the rest of their lives.

Meanwhile, on the homefront, wicked storm Christmas Eve, 3″ of rain, high winds, and a huge spruce tree pulled up from the roots in the soggy ground, and came crashing down, just missing the house. It was a close one. Now I have to go out and cut it up.

A physician in Boston said he suffered one of the worst allergic reactions he’s ever experienced after receiving Moderna’s Covid-19 jab, following a string of similar cases resulting from Pfizer’s vaccine.

Dr. Hossein Sadrzadeh, a hematology oncology fellow at Boston Medical Center, was given the drug on Christmas Eve. The health care worker, who has a severe shellfish allergy, said his heart began to race after taking the vaccine. Initially, he thought his increased heart rate was due to anxiety he had about the jab, stemming from reports of serious medical episodes occurring after people with allergies were injected with Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine.

However, he soon realized that he was suffering from something far more dangerous. Within minutes, Sadrzadeh’s tongue and throat began to tingle and go numb, a reaction that he associated with his shellfish allergy. Even more concerning, his blood pressure then dipped so low that it wasn’t even detectable with a monitor.

Luckily, the doctor had brought his own EpiPen, which he administered on himself before hospital staff rushed him to the emergency room. He was given several medications, including steroids and Benadryl. A record of his hospital visit stated that he was admitted to the ER for “shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations and numbness after receiving the Covid-19 vaccine.”

By Friday morning, he said that he was feeling normal. But the doctor seemed to suggest that the episode could have been far more harrowing had he not come prepared for the worst.

“I feel that if I did not have my EpiPen with me, I would be intubated right now, because it was that severe,” he said, adding that it was the worst allergic reaction he had experienced since he was 11 years old.

The physician said he now recommends that people with allergies receive the vaccine in a hospital setting, instead of getting it from a clinic or local provider.

“I knew the symptoms. I had the experience. I was a physician, and I was scared to death. Imagine someone who does not have the information,” he noted. Sadrzadeh has offered Moderna a blood sample in an effort to help the firm identify what ingredient in the vaccine may have triggered the allergic reaction.

Yoho: If you’re dumb enough to get an experimental vaccine, at least be smart enough to get it in a hospital where they can save your life. We can’t lose you. You are the Kwisatz Haderach, the Voice of the Other World; the One who shows the way.

3700 people a day die in car crashes that’s 1.35 million a year do we need a vaccine for car mayhem?

1% of all deaths are of allergic reactions.

In Chicago, 753 people have been killed this year. That is 244 more than 2019.

More than one million people go to the emergency room each year for a slip and fall accident The number of people who need emergency medical care because of a slip and fall is more than one million each year. That’s more than two thousand people each day in the United States alone.

Through oppressive measures and mass media propaganda, the elite took giant steps in achieving these goals:

    • Destroy mental health while promoting pills as a quick fix
    • Turn citizens against each other, turning them into Nazi-era-style informants
    • Break down families and communities
    • Create confusion about the building blocks of life such as gender
    • Normalize abhorrent practices such as pedophilia and trauma-based mind control
    • Destroy all belief systems (except satanism)
    • Force the masses to rely on heavily censored and monitored technology for information, entertainment, and communication
    • Use race, gender, and political affiliations to drive a wedge in populations in order to manipulate them with ease
    • Demoralize the general population by replacing true sources of happiness and fulfillment with synthetic substitutes

I understand that over-the-top hysteria is what works here. On the other hand, it’s true that the U.S.is broken. From the list of things the shadowy elite might be engaged in there are some things that are true:
      – The companies that run the MSM, the Internet, on-line shopping, video communication, and social media got a lot wealthier this past year while too many people lost their jobs, their apartments, and can no longer afford food and clothing.
      – Mental health has suffered and of course pills aren’t the solution. Death from opioids and other drugs have been the tragic result for several years now.
      – Political and social points of view are violently polarized.
      – Work and play have become specialized silos of activity and as a result most people don’t even know their next door neighbors.

A solution may be to stop obsessively focusing on who or what is at the top of the political or corporate hierarchy and instead organize to help one’s own community. Force change at the top by starting at the bottom. One obvious thing, for example, is to stop buying Chinese goods, like the crap drywall a foisted on us a few years ago.

I’m suggesting something difficult. Feckless vitriol about the elite and the deep state is easier and popular. No problem. Whatever floats your boat, as they say.

They Will open a can of Full Spectrum Dominance on every instance of armed resistance.

splain to me why Counterinsurgency has been the focused and defining strategy of military action since the era of our role as advisors in S.E. Asia.

splain to me how any media is going to be used to organize and consolidate an armed resisitance in the digital age.

A MAC address and a location app assures that you can be a target.

Every protestor, left or right, that has been part of an assembly with their smart phone on and on their person is KNOWN. Every vehicle that had a smart phone powered on in the vicinity of a protest and had a GPS navigation system can be identified.

“Has the USA stepped over the line?” surely a rhetorical question.

Underestimating the adversary is overshadowed by not knowing who the adversary is.

In the event that the VIN of the vehicle involved in the event in Nashville is discovered or known every regional traffic surveillance system will be searched. The chain of ownership and vehicle registration available to law enforcement is on a network and does not sleep. Insurance records and loan arrangements will be available by 12/28/2020.

Prepare yourself for what you are not going to be told. Understand that the spokesperson presented to you believes what they are telling you.

Do any of you “ready to answer the call” understand how low tech a Spectre Gunship is? Do you understand how deadly that low tech option can be? Do you understand the range of the weapon? Did you ever hear of The National Guard?

150 million citizens standing up and saying NO, would be exponentially more powerful that 30 million disorganized militia.

Insurrection – Don’t do it, don’t call for it

    Use the big head.

“The U.S. Supreme Court has been totally incompetent and weak on the massive Election Fraud that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election,” he said in a tweet just before 9 a.m. Saturday. “We have absolute PROOF, but they don’t want to see it – No ‘standing’, they say. If we have corrupt elections, we have no country!”

During his term in office, Trump successfully nominated three justices to the court: Justice Neil Gorsuch in 2017, Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, and most recently, Justice Amy Coney Barrett in 2020.

Trump has previously complained about his lack of standing to bring his desired lawsuits, which is the legal concept of whether a person has the legal ability to bring a particular lawsuit before a particular court. Trump and his campaign turned to legal challenges immediately following his loss, but he and Republican officials have won zero of at least 40 challenges they’ve filed.

Moments later Saturday, Trump in another tweet lobbed a subsequent attack on the sanctity of the US election, claiming he spoke to someone that told him “elections in Afghanistan are far more secure and much better run than the USA’s 2020 Election.”

“Ours, with its millions and millions of corrupt Mail-In Ballots, was the election of a third world country,” Trump said, without evidence, calling the president-elect a “Fake President”

    Business Insider

Yoho: Why should Trump have standing? He’s only the President of the United States. Thus they revealed their crooked and corrupt natures. Only Alito and Thomas should be allowed to remain after the Crossing.

            @benr

You just LOVE to cut & paste, huh, buddy? An error-free paragraph produced in the blink of an eye! No stress for a brief minute in your life!

“Trump turrets”??? What manner of madness is this? True, Mar-a-Lago, that pinnacle of taste & elegance (in which Family Trump is likely to living illegally come Jan 21st) does have ONE prominent feature which might be styled a ‘turret’. Otherwise, I have no idea what you’re talking about (again…yawn).

You could try looking up in your GOP-Authorized Compendium of Mental Illnesses. See Tourette’s Syndrome and decide if that might be what you’re trying to express here. Then come back and correct your error. It’s actually quite intriguing trying to tease out any coherent meaning from what you write. But usually it’s just the same old ‘ad hominems’, gleefully passing your dunce cap on to someone you feel deserves it more than you, and shouting ‘ridiculous!’, America-hater!’or some other such meaningless bullshit.

          • benr December 26, 2020 at 6:59 pm #

My error in turrets when I meant Tourette’s probably did give you turrets.

What are signs of turrets syndrome in young children?
The incidence of Turret’s in children and adolescents is up to 3.8%. The most common tics experienced by children include coughing, eye blinking, sniffing, throat clearing and facial movements. Turrets syndrome is uncommon in adults, but it can cause severe tics when it occurs.

So you see MR. know it all there is a real condition you can boil that crow and we can eat it together socially distanced of course.

    • Tekapo December 26, 2020 at 3:20 pm #

“Why should Trump have standing? He’s only the President of the United States.”

I feel he was not defeated by crooked and corrupt judges – rather it is the case that the law (especially at the state and federal supreme court level) is a hard master, and a tough game to succeed in.

Trump was disastrously let down by an incompetent legal team – one chosen for demonstrated loyalty rather than intelligence, skills, and experience. But puppy dogs show loyalty too.

It’s impossible to know whether a better legal team would have had the result of changing the result in sufficient states – but Trump didn’t really stand a chance with the one he had.

I trust he gets better lawyered-up for what might well be coming at him and his family after January 20.

      • FreddieMars December 26, 2020 at 3:43 pm #

Tekapo – for sure, he’ll TRY to get REAL lawyers for his impending legal troubles…but he may have the same problem that besieged him in the post-election farce: no one – that is, no lawyer of skill and high repute -would take him on because he had a losing case and he’s infamous for NOT PAYING.

This second point had a lot to do with who did choose to volunteer for his “Elite Legal Squad” – DiNova, Ellis, Powell & the ridiculous Giuliani.

Biggest sign that we are in the final stage of a coup d’etat against Trump?

He addressed the nation on 12/23 and it was not aired on any American television stations. This is the second time they have refused to air the president’s address to the nation. Atrocious!

I have never seen anything like this in my entire lifetime.

Liberals/Dembots are A-OK with this. They are fine with a coup d’etat and the rigged election just as long as their fatal cases of TDS go away. Or so they think. But it’s just going to be worse… if Biden somehow is seated, they will be even more miserable, and they will still blame Trump. Because he lives rent-free in their heads now. He’s their main obsession, and obsessing about him seems to be the only life force they still have. What happens to all that impotent rage? It will be interesting to find out.

There’s no winning here. Unless Trump somehow has the muscle to counter this massive fraud and expose the coup. That, I hope he does.

      • FreddieMars December 26, 2020 at 4:02 pm #

Anyway, what do you care what the “MSM” shows or doesn’t? Do you watch any of them? His Freak Show was surely carried live on OANN and Newsmax, right? Plus, there’s multiple sources on the Interwebs. Quite whining.

If the President of the United States can’t get the media to cover an announced ‘address to the nation’ we have reached a new low. And it makes no difference to me if in that address he states the world is flat and 2+2 = 5.673. The office of the POTUS must have full time media coverage. Let ‘the People’ decide if what he has to say is bullshit.

          • MaryV December 26, 2020 at 7:01 pm #

Agree. The claim Trump shouldn’t be let on TV is absurd, as I have never witnessed a presidential address that didn’t include a good deal of platitudes and outright lies. That’s, as you say, beside the point.

        • MaryV December 26, 2020 at 6:06 pm #

Why do you lefties like censorship so much? Biden’s champing at the bit to get rid of the First Amendment with your cancel culture trans agenda folx all yelling for ‘hate speech’ to be made illegal. Why are you all such unbelievable babies? Afraid of words? Full of rage against someone’s opinion that differs from yours?

And what does what the president say have anything to do with him being shut out by the American media? There are a ton of people who rely on mainstream media to hear what’s going on. I think it’s garbage but if they are going to report on their bullshit propaganda, they should also show the other side. At least that’s how journalism used to work.

You like the new way, fixed by the intelligence agencies, who issue the ‘news’ to the talking head bots telling them what lies to throw out to the American public. That’s probably why your posts sound so idiotic, regurgitating this pap makes people sound stupid.

I agree – the Democrat party is bonkers. Teaching 3 year olds ‘inclusion’ by forcing them to watch drag queens performing adult fetish acts in libraries; claiming men can become women; claiming that all whites are supremacists and there is nothing we can do about our ‘inherent’ racism; lauding prostitution as ‘sex work’ and terrorizing people in major Dem-controlled cities by rioting, burning down businesses, shooting people and beating up old people. This is the Dem part of 2020. They really shouldn’t be pointing any fingers at anyone else and calling them crazy.

When was the last time a president had the “privilege” of nominating 3 supreme court justices? This a traditional and solidly conservative Supreme Court, and its influence will be felt thru Biden’s term and beyond. Restructuring of SCOTUS going forward may be the one thing the golden golem is best remembered for. I wouldn’t worry about court packing. Biden (or whomever) has much bigger fish to fry, the fish DJT ignored to try to win votes and boost his own ego. If not SCOTUS, then
who or what? And don’t keep going back to the Constitution. I’ve read it (and the amendments) and i know what it says. I’m a legend in my own mind, of course.

    • Tate December 26, 2020 at 6:52 pm #

Your idea of “traditional” varies a great deal from mine. Of course SCOTUS is “conservative” with the three new picks (meaning it won’t do anything to rock the boat). The three new members were counseled to Trump from the conservative/libertarian Federalist Society. ‘Crazy Eyes’ Barrett should have been a clue, with her African adoptees. All Trump’s initiatives have been blunted & neutered just as surely as the Tea Party movement was, & so it was that his ‘conservative’ picks don’t mean squat. The only ones who resisted the Chief Justice’s threats were the two stalwarts, Thomas & Alito, holdovers from earlier appointments.

Last night the wife’s nephew stopped by, eulogizing his former wrestling coach whose philosophy he says was, “Find the person MOST UNLIKE you, & seek to touch that person with your positive energies.” (I take it he meant most racially unlike.) But it never occurs to these bien pensants that that thinking itself is a form of racism, the worst kind, preferring an alien group to your own.

Look, we only have so many hours in the day. In seeking out that person outside one’s own ethnic group, you are neglecting some one in need within it. You only have to look at the record number of narcotic overdose deaths to understand that there is a real crisis here. It hit our family couple of months ago, RIP Steve. Only Whites are afflicted by this aberration.

Anyway, not to dwell on this, but there is really no hope for that formerly great nation, the U.S. of A. It has been corrupted beyond redemption, it exists as a hollow shell only, where two laws exist in practice, the one for you the majority, who have to obey the letter of it to the max, and the other law that applies selectively & often not at all to the privileged classes. If it benefits the latter to run a Venezuelan election, then that’s what we’ll have, ignoring anything that might seem amiss TO THE ENTIRE REST OF THE WORLD.

So the only question you have to ask yourselves, is, what comes next, & how do you protect yourself & your loved ones against it?

      • Yohannon December 26, 2020 at 10:29 pm #

Conservative? Primarily as in the bad way most Generals or Cops are: the Status Quo is to be obeyed and enforced. And that’s whoever signs your checks. Order must be maintained. Whoever has it, is it. Feminine in a deep sense. Women always want to be on the right side and the right sight is with whoever has “it”.

@Tate: You stated: “ So the only question you have to ask yourselves, is, what comes next, & how do you protect yourself & your loved ones against it?”

That is correct. My significant other and I reached the same conclusion after witnessing the manifest fraud that determined the outcome of this election.

If Democrats will steal elections, cancel the opposition, silence opposing speech, and allow armed mobs of thugs, aggrieved minorities, college snowflakes, criminals, perverts, and communists to Burn, Loot, and Murder while law enforcement stands by and does NOTHING……..well…..let’s just say that, like Dorothy, we are no longer in Kansas anymore.

Almost all of our time and money now goes to prepping to survive a most menacing and uncertain future. We sure as hell are no longer relying on government, the police, the military, or the Stupid Party (GOP) to protect us from the Evil Party (Democrats).

        • MaryV December 27, 2020 at 4:25 pm #

Same conclusion I’ve come to, which is why I moved to a quiet cul de sac in a red state, and am hoping it’s not as bad here as in the cities or blue states. And I’ve amassed about 3 months’ or more supply of food. I think we’re in for some really bad years, and if people don’t bust out of their red/blue mindset we are really done for. I’m sure the Bidenbots up here who assume I’m some big Trump supporter can’t even begin to grok the idea that I’m not on any side and as objective as the conclusions I’ve come to after years of observation and research. But because it favors the rule of law, they will call me a Trumper. This is how deranged they’ve become.

      “… i know what it says…”

Tom, if what it says is more important than what it means, we would not need the SCOTUS.

My Lai in Vietnam was worse than Nisour Square in Baghdad, and Lt. William L. Calley Jr. was sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering civilians. He served three days before Nixon reduced his sentence, and did three tough years under house arrest.

Nisour Square killers were Blackwater mercenaries, Blackwater having a billion dollar contract to protect American diplomats and military brass. Erik Prince, brother of Betsy DeVos, led the Blackwater butchers. The convicted killers are now pardoned.

Make what you will of the usual maze of murder and money, war and wantonness, blood and the bestial, and the mire of moral quandaries.

Trump’s pardon of Charles Kushner involves no moral quandary. It was simply crass, creepy and cringe worthy. How pleased the kike Jared must be. Yes, used as an insulting or contemptuous term for a Jewish Person.

I like winners who Win. Trump didn’t and gave me Harris-Biden. Can’t see him go soon enough. Jail time for him and Jared. Good riddance to him and his crew, Ivanka too.

‘Where’s the evidence? You might prepare yourself to see it. I think it’s coming. ……. the nation’s mood shifts from nervous repose to a determined resolution of this disgraceful affront to our honor. Are you ready for it?’ JHK

Right, evidence like the Kraken. Unfortunately, with the Biden win, the nation’s mood has shifted to hope, relief, and joy, except of course for Trump supporters whose mood will now be one of resignation and revanchist ruminations.

The Left will crush anything resembling a militant defiance to succession. Trump is now an abandoned loser, who desperately announces $2000 dollars for the hoi polloi in order to save Georgia and not incur total defeat.

Resignation or rebellion, what will You do about this ‘disgraceful affront to our honor’? Probably not much, just post some opinions here, some sensible, some bordering on the surreal, some sagacious, some silly. Some like spark plugs, igniting the fuel of anger, paranoia, and disappointment.

And there’s no doubt that Trump helped to catastrophize the covid. Eight months of bloodless bullshit and bluster right before an election. Way to go, T.

@tucson spur: You are not alone in your utter disgust with the impotence and total lack of resolve exhibited by Trump and the rest of the GOP. Clearly they think politics as usual will go on, despite the steal. I rather doubt that.

My own preference would be for a fascist coup. I mean, why not? The Left constantly trumpets their fear and loathing of “Fascism” so why not give them a great big heaping dose of it? I’m thinking fascism along the lines of Francisco Franco or Augusto Pinochet. Fascism that preserves Western Civilization. Not the batshit crazy National Socialism that sought to ditch Christianity and to replace it with ancient Nordic paganism with Hitler as their new God.

However, I must agree that Trump ain’t the man for this job. He has the ego for it and the patriotism for it, but his Human Resources acumen leaves much to be desired. Most of his new hires spend all of their time stabbing the boss in the back. That won’t do.

We need a Cincinnatus clone, but where do we find him? A man who will do the work that must be done and who doesn’t mind getting his hands a little dirty, but who also is a patriot who will relinquish power once the ship has been righted.

Do we search in vain for such a champion?

” I was thinking of getting a muzzleloader — not an inline but the kind Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone toted around the frontier — hang it on the wall (not sure if the wife will go along with it) maybe get accoutrements next summer and try it out. ”

    — Backrowheckler

Now THAT would be a genuine and meaningful step toward self – reliance.

Near the top of the page someone said ,

    ” Start cultivating and practicing self-reliance. ”

On principle I would agree . But as I reflect glumly , where are the community corn and grain mills , the trained teams of oxen and mules , for example , that would make self – reliance remotely practical ?

    Back to muzzleloaders ;

A person with the most minimal of skills could make their own bullet mold.

You could probably buy enough Black Powder to last you several years on the most minimal of budgets.

You could buy enough flint to last you many decades for minimal cost.

Finally , muzzleloaders have few moving parts to begin with , the design is simple and spartan to begin with , and your typical muzzleloader is built much the same way as a cast iron stove.

So specialized maintenance isn’t a regular concern , and when it is , if you can’t find a gunsmith who can fix a muzzleloader while blindfolded , then , fuck , you might as well just give up then.

I’ve never been a gun enthusiast , but I do have a real soft spot for Flintlocks , Snaphaunce , and Matchlocks.

It’s certainly one technology where we never really improved on what we had to begin with , except of course where the idea is to kill as many people as possible as quickly and easily as possible.

But then I suppose your idea isn’t to shoot up McDonald’s ?

In that case , like I said , we never really improved on the technology from what we had to begin with.

What Daniel Boone used in the 18th century would be just as practical and useful now.

Indeed even the new powder is far more stable.

I was looking at a modern day muzzle loader while in Virginia in November.
The new black powder guns use a round shaped like a modern day bullet.

E., the steel is probably better now, but is a Hawkins Rifle made by Pederosoli in 2020 much improved over one made by the Hawkins Bros. in 1850? The technology seems pretty much the same, which is I think what KesaAnna was saying (not to put words in her mouth).

KesaAnna, we have an intact gristmill here on the river, built in 1650 and still standing. It ran for about 250 years, until flour shipped in from the west became so cheap and plentiful that it no longer paid, and the mill fell into disuse. In about 1920 a movie producer moved to town, bought the mill (I think as a project to keep busy in retirement) and got it going again. It lasted into the early 30s. The story goes the last sack of flour was bought by ex President Cal Coolidge — Silent Cal — who’s son lived in the neighborhood. All the machinery, the grindstone, the dam, the locks etc are still there, not sure if it’s too late to ever be used again.

Up river a project is ongoing to bring a small hydro electric plant back to life, built in 1915, wrecked by the flood of ’55.

Interesting comments on primitive weapons, KesaAnna and E.

@KesaAnna: I used to be a re-enactor of the War of Northern Aggression, aka “The Civil War.” (What was “civil” about it?)

I used a model 1853 English Enfield Rifled musket. Black powered muzzle loader. Can use FF or FFF powder. Percussion caps for ignition. Shoots a .58 caliber conical shaped “Minie” ball projectile.

Nice rugged weapon. Easy to shoot. Easy to clean. Accurate out to 300 yards with practice. Can load and fire 3 rounds per minute with practice. Powder is cheap. Lead is cheap. Making bullets easy to learn. Rolling paper cartridges easy to do. Percussion caps are dirt cheap and large quantities can be hoarded on low budget.

I prefer percussion caps to flintlocks for reliability…….especially in rainy conditions. But earlier flintlocks are fine too, as a backup gun in case you ever run out of percussion caps.

If you need leather accoutrements there are vendors of Civil War reenactment gear like C&D Jardigan who can outfit you with the standard gear like cap boxes, cartridge boxes, leather belts, etc.

Great fun to shoot black powder. Even AR fans used to get tickled when I showed up at the local gun range to shoot my Enfield. Many wanted to take a turn with the musket. All that fire and smoke, ‘ya know? Very romantic stuff from a simpler time.

          Regarding the word yea:

There are many commenters I could pick on who misuse this word but I may as well stick with you since you are such a rich source of everything that drives me nuts when I read comments. Specifically, in this case…….

If you check a dictionary for the pronunciation of yea it is ‘yay’ as when a legislature takes a voice vote, “yea or nay.” Yea rhymes with bay, day, gay, hay, nay, etc.

So, I am certain what you intended in the excerpt above is yeah (or yeh) but not yea.

No need to respond, just keep it in mind the next time you are tempted to use the word yea.

” I would suggest that the biggest “bang for the buck” would be attacking the electrical grid, one substation at a time…a few well- placed rifle rounds can and will, over several weeks, result in the follow on deaths of multiples of thousands. Many of the transformers currently used are custom made, and lead times for replacement are counted in months, or years. ”

    — Elysianfield

I have many times thought the same thing myself.

I don’t know , though , about it taking weeks or months to replace transformers , or hundreds or thousands of people dieing because the refrigerator doesn’t work.

On the other hand , the situation might indeed be pretty bleak for all those urban residents in New Mexico or Arizona when the AC goes down in high summer ?

Anyway , I always thought the genius of the idea is in that we can’t possibly guard and defend every substation.

We could let homeless people camp out rent – free at substations , thus giving substations permanent , full time night watchmen.

But that would be too cheap and too simple , and too prosaic a solution.

Luckily , terrorists have never proven to be as smart as they are made out to be.

True , 911 was a spectacular photo – op. Beyond that one shot though , not very practical , so not very effective.

Unluckily though , governments , and the average citizen , have never responded to terrorism soberly and pragmatically , but emotionally and pridefully.

So I guess terrorists will go on trying to attack fortresses surrounded by video cameras aplenty ,

and societies will go on swatting flies with heavy artillery , until such time as terrorists have to find another line of work , and states can’t afford their gross over – reaction – grandstanding.

In the final episode of the original Star Trek series, Kirk does battle with a Feminist, embittered, ex-girl friend from Star Fleet Academy who is bitter and resentful of Kirk because Kirk dumped her while in school to go screw alien women and because Star Fleet wouldn’t let women become Star Ship captains. She uses some alien technology to take over Kirk’s body and command of the Enterprise while confining Kirk in her female body to be then dumped in a mental hospital on some obscure, shithole alien planet —- a precursor to transgenderism? In the end, with the help of Spock, Kirk regains control of his male body and foils the Deep State plot against Trump. Very prescient episode.

    • Yohannon December 26, 2020 at 8:41 pm #

You put Kirk in a bad light here, Puck. To wit: “Her intense hatred of her own womanhood made any relationship with her impossible.

    • KesaAnna December 26, 2020 at 8:51 pm #

Just the other day it occurred tome that the original Star Trek is becoming rather visibly archaic.

Like , pretty much all the women are in very short skirts , and episodes abound where these women in very short skirts have to be saved by men.

There is ONE woman on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise ; the Black girl.

And she’s basically a glorified secretary or telephone operator.

There was this one episode where this Romulan Chick was in charge of her warship , was very assertive , and frankly wanted to get it on with Spock.

      — Naturally she was the villain.

The moral of the whole thing , it seems to me , is to beware re – writes of history.

Each and every generation , including this one , is conceitedly bigoted in its own way ,

and precisely because it is always a major taboo to suggest that the majority is totally full of shit.

      • KesaAnna December 26, 2020 at 9:00 pm #

( My own view is / was I liked the very short skirts , and the uniforms in general , of the original Star Trek more than the dull compromises they have come up with since.

I would rather be a secretary or a telephone operator , than be a ships captain. If a ships captain ever gets his ass kicked by the Romulan’s , who do you figure they are going to blame for it ?

Spock should have joined the Romulan’s. The Romulan’s had cooler stuff , and their women were just like Vulcan women , only with an actual sex drive. )

      • Yohannon December 26, 2020 at 10:24 pm #

Uhuru. Her short skirt was always flying up in orgasmic chaos when the Enterprise was “hit on” by phasers or photon torpedoes.

First interracial kiss on TV was between Kirk and Uhuru. I’m ashamed to admit I’m not sure of the episode. Maybe Puck will know. Probably the one where the “Roman” (not Romulan) decadent aliens kidnapped them for fun.

As time went on, more and more Earth type scenarios were played. Writer’s fatigue.

        • Iananna December 27, 2020 at 4:17 am #

It was a double episode called “Plato’s Stepchildren” – an effete, closed community used to controlling reality through mind power suddenly need medical help for a minor bacterial infection and Enterprise responds.
They don’t ant to let them go afterwards as they are bored and keep them in a menagerie forcing them to do tricks – neigh & rear like horses or other unnatural things, hence Uhura & Kirk.

          • Yohannon December 27, 2020 at 12:41 pm #

I’m glad you’re against miscegenation, lala – not like Plato’s stepchildren.

Yohannon – I was referring to fraternisation, especially heinous when it is a captain & a subordinate.
What you term ‘miscegenation‘ is an anthropological constant – “marry out or die out”.
            Inbred societies quickly fade.
Another constant that intelligent cultures learn is “
the best place to store excess food is in the stomach of your neighbour” otherwise you end up with the Benighted States, the perfect example of ” failed state”.

the original Star Trek (may its name be blessed) was rife with cinematic artistry, viz half-shadowed faces and themes that touched the marrow of the soul, hand-to-hand combat, good vs. evil

Uhura was not at all a glorified telephone operator, she was a vastly talented communications officer and no one pondered the fact that she was black

        hence merit

women are sex objects, and the short skirts – god they were barely there at times – just increased the watchability of the show

        a timeless classic

        • Yohannon December 27, 2020 at 12:43 pm #

That’s why women are always taking their clothes off at demonstrations, even if the demonstration has nothing to do with the female body. Deep down they know this is what is their ultimate value. Sometimes it’s a gesture of mockery, but beneath that, perhaps a cry for help?

yea of men who lost a war killed an enslaved men and women of color taken from their homelands. Killed and stole American Indian lands . Yea . Those. statutes need to still be in America…

” yea of men who lost a war … ”

I’ve never believed that it was American culture to root for , or favor the underdog. I’ve always thought General Patton was right , that Americans loath and despise a loser.

As evidence of this , all those ” Liberals ” whose default argument / final insult is , ” They lost ! So there ! ”

” killed an enslaved men and women of color taken from their homelands. ”

The killing part was to the lions share degree taking place on the sugar cane plantations of the Caribbean.

There , yes , the life expectancy of a slave was analogous to that of political prisoners in Soviet Gulags or Nazi Concentration camps .

That is , their life expectancy was 4 weeks.

There , slaves weren’t sold retail , individually , but wholesale , by the shipload , and were a disposable commodity.

But you would need to see the British , the French , the Dutch , the Portuguese and Spanish , and Yankee traders , about that.

Not American Southerners. You might as well blame the murderous Caribbean Sugar plantation system on the Eskimo’s.

The killing of slaves in the old South in contrast was a rare enough event. In contrast , there they were sold individually at fancy retail prices.

So , all other sentiments aside , they were too valuable to kill.

” killed an enslaved men and women of color taken from their homelands. ”

    They were already enslaved.

Arguably , trading African enslavement for Southern American enslavement was an improvement.

    Arguably , like the difference between a 50 – dollar – a – shot Street – Walker , versus a 300 – dollar – a – shot Call Girl.

” Killed and stole American Indian lands . ”

I gotta admit that is worse , incrementally , than sticking your noses into the internal affairs of countries far away , about which you know little or nothing , and care even less.

EXCEPT you still BRAG ABOUT the latter to this day . Indeed , it’s a very cornerstone of the general American narrative.

    When all else fails =

    Isolationism is bad !

And we had to stop Hitler !

( As if Hitler really was Superman , as if the Nazi Party really was the greatest thing since sliced bread. )

Then again , if stealing land from the aborigines is such a terrible sin , then this is yet another reason to condemn the American Revolution .

The infamous ( infamous to Americans at the time ) British Proclamation of 1763 would have barred White settlement west of the Appalachians.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Proclamation_of_1763

So , conceivably , if the Indian – solicitous British good guys had won the war , America would still be 13 colonies hugging the Atlantic coast .

So , at least , a lot less sin to grieve over.

” Yea . Those. statutes need to still be in America… ”

I don’t know about ” need ” , but as I have pointed out before , in many parts of America if you take down these offending statues , the only public art of note you are left with is the Burger King sign.

            I don’t either per se, – Yoha

            =========

You use this phrase frequently. I often wonder if you give much thought to what it actually means.

“Per se,” is a Latin phrase that means “by itself.”

I did a Google search on the phrase and got the impression that more often than not, people do not understand what they are saying. They would usually be better off not using it than using it incorrectly.

I used to work with a Brit named Bruce who had a penchant for using the phrase “as such” which happens to be a synonym for ‘per se.’ I would challenge him to explain to me in different words what he meant by “as such.” He was struck dumb. He could not begin to explain what he meant by it.

And so, I challenge YOU to strike out the words per se from the excerpt above and fill in other words (use as many as it takes) to clarify exactly what you mean.

          • Yohannon December 27, 2020 at 10:01 pm #

In and of itself. I don’t follow sports as such, but rather for the human interest, be it athletic, comparisons of the races, politics, etc.

For example, I might not be interested in who wins the Super Bowl, but I could enjoy watching it, enjoying a great kickoff return, or a long pass successfully caught.

    ” Of course, only far-right terrorists would do such a thing…. ”

    In a round – about , bizarre sort of way , it’s a compliment .

In my less emotional moments , as an East German , the anti – Nazi , anti – Communist , generically anti – German rhetoric , always struck me as downright weird.

Because it made us out to be a hundred times more and better and greater than we ever were.

I suppose even now that wouldn’t be obvious , because these are people in a land far away.

But with 911 this kind of rhetoric started coming a lot closer to your own backyard .

After all , the fact is Al Queda is too small to even make much of a ball game out of it in Afghanistan and Iraq.

So it kinda has to be about the American people , even if they had nothing to do with hijacking those planes.

The Patriot Act , even if you can’t really explain what the Hell that has to do with Egyptians and Saudi’s and Syrians.

And now , with Covid , it certainly very much is in your back yard.

I hope 60 years of anti – Nazi and anti – Communist scare propaganda was worth it.

I have no doubt that when you have to wear a mask , even though the whole thing is bullshit , it’s directly traceable to that 60 years of bullshit.

Except , like I said , the only difference was it was a land far away , and now it’s your own backyard.

    • KesaAnna December 27, 2020 at 5:16 am #

I forgot the War on Drugs .

If you believe Nixon’s Chief of Staff , H. R. Haldeman , the War on Drugs was designed as a war ON A CERTAIN SEGMENT of the American people.

That’s what he says in his memoirs.

In his memoirs he also says Watergate was much ado about nothing.

Which agrees with my own assessment.

So I’m inclined to believe Haldeman.

      • KesaAnna December 27, 2020 at 5:26 am #

To elaborate , because maybe the point wasn’t made clearly enough ,

Nixon thought Blacks , but also working class and lower middle class , whites , were getting too uppity , and needed to be put down.

But you can’t just blatantly say that.

So this moral crusade of a war against drugs was cooked up so the sympathetic idiots wouldn’t notice , or would rationalize away , the fact that the U.S. government has now turned to warring on its own citizens.

Again , your own propaganda eventually came back to bite you.

        Now you are the Germans.

Interesting comments on guns. In the winter issue of ‘Guns of the Old West’, they say that Mark Twain may have been the first famous firearms critic.

“In his 1871 book ‘Roughing it’, chronicling his early adventures in the American West from 1861 to 1867, he used his famously lighthearted and sarcastic wit to at once define, defile and glamorize-dare we say immortalize-the Smith & Wesson Model No.1 Tip-Up .22 Short revolver.

Twain wonderfully wrote, “I was armed to the teeth with a pitiful little Smith & Wesson seven shooter, which carried a ball like a homeopathic pill, and it took the whole seven to make a dose for an adult. But I thought it was grand. It appeared to me to be a dangerous weapon. It only had one fault—-you could not hit anything with it”.

The .22 Short was Wesson’s first patented self contained metallic cartridge and also America’s first, it said.

      TS

Fun fact: that 1st S&W revolver Mark Twain made fun of was made possible by a few circumstances, one of which was Hartford native and Colt employee Roland White coming up with the idea of the bored thru cylinder using fixed cartridges. Apparently by 1857 Colt’s original revolver technology patent had expired, paving the way for new manufacturers and new applications. Roland White was one of those19th century tinkerers and mechanical geniuses who were so prevalent in NE, and went on in later years to found the White Truck Manufacturing Company.

Some other Colt employees who moved onto greater things were the guys who founded Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, and Chysler Motors.

In other news, my small Christmas dinner actually had the predictable debate of politics, as my 70+ in-laws broke their quarantine to get together with us and my brother-in-law’s family.

Let’s just say the septuagenarians schooled the hell out of my sister-in-law when she started saying “well, you accept social security and medicare, how is that not socialism? Father-in-law said “That’s not socialism, that’s insurance. I paid for that, and a lot more than I’ll ever get back.”

Got slightly heated from there as she started to talk about the wonders of Norway. It was glorious. I sat back and watched the fallout, sipping a fine bourbon.

Finally the prime rib was brought to a rest and brother-in-law said from the kitchen, “Enough! Not doing this any more. Time to eat.”

    Ahh, Christmas.

    Happy Kwanza, CFNers!

Funny thing, the Kwanza Community has a strange way of celebrating the festive holiday (which has roots all the way back to 1967) with fatal shootings in Hartford, Orange, Ansonia, Waterbury and Windsor Locks. The murder in Waterbury was particularly tragic, a neighborhood gang hit on a 16 year old kid.

  66. JohnAZ December 27, 2020 at 11:13 am #

Your father-in-law was right. SS (1930s) and Medicare(1960s) are social insurance. Why? Because the American public was too dumb to save for their retirements and were a large part of the humongous downturn of the Great Depression. SS was enacted to get older folks to get out of the way of young folks in the job market.

The original SS was supposed to be protected from the overspending habits of Congress buying votes. It’s real problems started when Congress changed that and started to “borrow” from the Trust Fund. Today the trust fund is a sham. The fund is being eaten away bit by bit by revenues from the payroll tax being short of expenditures and will be gone in the early 30s. Probably sooner. At that point, payroll taxes will pay benefits directly with no fund to full in the gap. The benefits will drop quickly as they will have to match the taxes. Unless of course, the Deep State just prints more bucks to fill it in.

Medicare is in the same countdown stage, but much quicker.

Socialism is caused by the people not taking responsibility to care for themselves for whatever reason. The government takes over in response to lousy management by the private sector. Before FDR, the government did not pay much attention and most of the people that did not care for themselves went homeless and died. With the Depression, the number of people unable to take care of themselves skyrocketed and socialistic means were started. So your sister-in-law is also correct, SS and Medicare are both creeping socialism because it is being counted on more and more as savings decline.

The real problem is the political pushing of socialism that the Dems are pushing to acquire power in the Deep State. Between the stupidification of our youth and the over-immigration situation, the people are becoming less able to care for themselves. The solution? Socialize more and more because Deep State people are so much smarter than we are.

Let me tell you, if Covid19’s reaction is the best these “smart” people can do, we as a society are in Deep doo-doo.

I wonder how the Deep State is eventually going to reconcile the national debt? What is the equivalent of bankruptcy when the money printers are the folks going bankrupt? How the heck can the government reconcile soon to be $30000000000000 of debt.

Hint they aren’t. All you folks counting on the government for subsistence from about 2030 on better come up with something else. The federal money bag will be empty and the government tit is going to dry up. Then the world, including us, dying will start.

This is serious s**t going on right now, and people are going to die in response. Billions of people, it has already started.

Jesus wants us to share with our less fortunate brothers and sisters. What happens when there is nothing to share?

      For Mr. Mango

    • rube-i-con December 27, 2020 at 11:21 am #

nonsense, slash taxes and the economy skyrockets and along with it tax revenues

when you make $50k a year and owe $500K it~s a problem, when all of a sudden you make $250k a year that $500k (the debt) is much less of a problem

80% of the national debt is owed to US entities, so no biggy

      • JohnAZ December 27, 2020 at 11:32 am #

Yeah, who is it owned by domestically?

Pension plans and IRAs, ie retirements.

What happens when they want their money?

        Guess!!

        Another point.

The debt problem is like an expanding circle, the debt owed being the area of the circle. The function is a squared function and explodes like a Ponzi scheme. That is how the ascending debt curve is NOT linear but a squared function.

The problem with your solution is the increase of debt means more and more people cannot make that $250k that would offset the debt. If the debt was stuck at 30 trillion and the expanding economy made payments on the debt more effective, you would be right.

Problem is the debt goes up as a square function and the revenue is linear. It will just keep getting worse and worse.

All Ponzi schemes fail in the end.

        • rube-i-con December 27, 2020 at 11:57 am #

wrong, tax revenues is not linear

also, why can~t more and more people make 250k? what zero sum game do you live in?

microsoft stock has gone from .01 to $1k a share, that should~ve killed off all other stocks if zero-sum were true

instead, everything has expanded in value

plant a seed and tell me about zero sum

also, explain how the US was set to implode when the debt reached $1 billion and here we are 30,000 times more and it still hasn~t

Not everyone can be millionaires except in the Zimbabwean sense. The big wigs prevent both in the tree sense above and actively in a human way of crushing, conniving, and class warfare.

Don’t worry, China will settle our debts for us, just like we settled the U.K.’s, when that became necessary. The only problem is there are fewer cultural ties between the U.S. & China than there were between the U.K. & the U.S. Of course, that may become less a problem as we continue to import a new overclass, many of them from China, right?

            Stop fatalising?

            Do you read this blog?

Stop spending by Congress? That is a good one.

Do you think that most, most of that spending is supporting Social Security and Medicare and the many other entitlement programs. Yeah, shut them down and watch what happens to that expanding economy you are counting on.

30 trillion dollars now. How many years of our total GDP would have to be put against that debt load to pay off the debt? Do your arithmetic, this is an unemotional fact.

We are barely squeezing by paying the interest payments right now. The principal just keeps skyrocketing.

BTW, what spending would you like to see cut to stem the tide?

Cannot hurt the economy, or decrease the consumer base, or reduce the federal protection mandates. Those make the debt increase!

      JohnAZ,

I hear ya. And I generally agree, Though my sister-in-law was not correct, at least in this country. These setuagenarians (and us) have paid into a system that will not support them (should they live long enough) or us. The mismanagement is a sign that we are in decline. I envy the 70+ in that they will get back some of what they put in. The rest of us will watch it go elsewhere for no reason.

That is not fair insurance in a capitalist system. That is socialism. My father-in-law- is correct.

And I am not a “it’s the socialists” kinda guy. But this is getting pretty obvious and painful to watch,

    Rube I con

Your ideal is pure GOP of the 20th century. It is one of the main targets of the Leftist revolution. They have made more dependent people on the government with their policies for forty years. The RINO GOP has helped them do it. That has produced the ever increasing Ponzi circle that is running away with our national wealth.

If you were 500k in debt, your example, and all you could make was 50k, could you ever catch up? Not only that, Obama sent much of our ability to catch up to China which will continue under Biden now that Trump is probably history.

Your idea of reducing taxes? Just increases the deficit and debt!

When you retire, where are your sustenance funds going to come from?

Certainly not from $50000000000000 worth of debt by that time. Can it?

there is no such thing as ‘the deficit’, it is overspending by congress and could stop ‘on a dime’

i~ve lived in countries where taxes were suspended and the economy boomed, then they were reinstated and the economy tanked

i~ll give you $15 and bet you~ll spend it on a few burgers

i~ll take away $15 from you and the farmer/trucker/burger flipper no longer generate tax revenues, whilst gov~t spending continues apace….hence greater debt

          it is that simple

your analogy is lacking in substance, the logic of mine is self-evident

One thing I think we agree on, the Deep State is the mortal enemy of the American public. The American public just elected in a Democratic government, especially if Georgia turns the Senate.

          Who is at fault here?

A program of debt reduction needs to be organized at the federal level to decrease the rise of spending and maintain tax levels to stop deficit increases but not hurt the economy.

Do you think that mentality even exists in this country?

I do not, hence my fatalism.

Good to have company. The word fascism has become a scary one, but we need something close to it nonetheless.

I agree, Trump does have the ego and the patriotism. Beyond that, things get iffy. History is filled with challenges, with men and moments and meetings of the two.

This last election might have been a moment. Would Trump have met it, could he have met it?

‘Do we search in vain for such a champion?’ (like Cincinnatus)

” du bist kein Ost-Deutscher hoer auf zu luegen ”

Once upon a time , long , long ago , and far , far away , the optimistic promise of the internet was one venue where your race , sex , age , nationality , class , etc , wouldn’t matter.

Your only access was a keyboard.

Your only presentation was a keyboard.

Your very resume was that keyboard.

The only way you could relate was via intellect and character.

So , for example , conceivably , a 12 year old could rub elbows with college professors.

Where , lets be honest , in real life various stigmas and perceptions would render that highly unlikely , or simply impossible.

( On a personal note ; A 12 year old rubbing elbows with college professors is far – fetched ? I don’t know about that.

My REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE as a child was that I hated children generally , and greatly preferred , generally , the company of adults , and the seemingly more cultured and educated those adults seemed to be , the better.

Add to that , coincidentally , when I came to America , it was to wind up in the neighborhood that had grown up around the University of North Carolina at Greensboro , in the hundred years since that schools founding. ( When it was founded , it was on the edge of town , surrounded by cow pastures and woods. But that was in 1892. Now it is in the middle of town , and in an old neighborhood too ) So college professors were my neighbors.

So I’m pretty sure that if the internet had existed then , then this particular 12 year old would have been hanging out on the ‘ net with people 20 to 30 years my senior anyway , as a matter of course . )

Of course , the dream no sooner realized , than people began moving heaven and earth to transform the internet into a place where , just like real life , resume is everything , and you wind up hanging out with the exact same sort of people you hang out with in real life , anyway.

    In point of fact ,

the internet is the ONLY place I EVER share my East German past.

In real life , I stopped sharing that information WITH ANYONE about 30 years ago.

In real life , the only clue to my past would be if you paid a visit to my house , and noticed the autographed portrait of Erich Honecker , ( hanging on the wall in a back room ) or the East German helmet that has sat at the foot of my bed since I was seven years old.

Or opened a particular drawer , and found the folded East German flag at the bottom of that drawer.

Except that , precisely on account of those details , I never invite anyone into my house. So you wouldn’t see those details.

It’s less about hiding something , or even about privacy , but more a matter of refuge.

What can I say ? People are never as nice as they think themselves to be.

And you find the tyranny that is in that no less in North America , than in Eastern Europe.

But , yes , occasionally , I do bring up my East German past on the internet , and specifically here.

    Why ?

So that the person reading my essays will know that while I may not strictly be an enemy , I’m certainly not a friend either.

That seems crucially important to me.

One thing that is still true of the internet is that it brings the world into your living room.

The downside of that is that you have foreigners presenting themselves as friends of America , but pushing perspectives , narratives , and policies which are not necessarily , or at all , in an Americans interest.

This is NOT always dishonesty , or a con game.

It may simply be a case of , ” putting your best foot forward “.

The trouble is that the American may not at all perceive that subtlety , and in any case it does not serve THEIR interest.

I would argue that there is something to be said for underlining the fact that I am an alien , I am not your friend , and may even be an enemy.

More intimately , the problem with this business of bringing the world into your living room is that it silently ( and so more effectively ) reinforces the nationalist and statist mythology that because we share some identification or demographic , however nebulous , that somehow makes us family , best buddies , or something ,

AND SO I HAVE SOME KIND OF RIGHT TO STICK MY FOOT IN YOUR DOOR.

    Sorry ,

    Bullshit.

We are NOT relatives. I am NOT your Dad , your Mom , your sister , or your daughter. Your household is NOT mine , and never will be.

Parens Patriae was once a very remote , and very abstract , legal invention .

Now it is invoked every three minutes , by every Tom , Dick , and a Harry who never even heard the term , ” Parens Patriae ” , and even though if you bothered to reflect on it for five minutes , you would know it’s on account of people you really DON’T give a fuck about.

That development is a major concern of mine , and so another reason I bring up that aspect of my past , even though the very idea is to make me look bad.

This could easily become a book .

    So I’ll end there.

Tucsonspar said, “Right now they just don’t have the right stuff and neither do you..”

I fell out with the Republicans after they changed the rules on RonPaul. This showed me they were not interested in Liberty or actually fixing anything. Consent to the social contract is lost. The lies have been exposed. They are too stupid to understand that everything is recorded.

    Fraud vitiates all contracts.

    God the Father
    Jesus the Son
    We the People
    Employees
    Contractors

We own and are responsible for what we create. When we fail our duties our higher power is obligated to correct our error.

We have made contracts with our employees, and naively placed them above us [ Romans 13 ].

Any so-called law that attempts to abrogate higher law is null and void from its inception.

When you are asked “do you understand the charges” you must reply in the negative because of multiple definitions. If you say yes, you are making false witness of yourself and placing your person at their mercy. The tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

    • KesaAnna December 27, 2020 at 11:00 pm #

I’m not sure what the original conversation was , and I don’t care to bother to look it up either.

So I’m probably going off – topic.

      But I can’t resist these ;

” Fraud vitiates all contracts. ”

I don’t know about that. A person may lie for many , many reasons , and some of them even good reasons.

      But , anyway , since I was a little girl I have believed , rock – solid , that ;

      Coercion vitiates all contracts.

Of course there is a fly in the ointment.

This idea , followed to its logical conclusion , vitiates nine – tenths of government , nine – tenths of religion , ideology , or philosophy.

Be that as it may , I can’t shake the idea that it is true.

Even where I would greatly prefer it not to be true.

So I think it is true.

To pick a mundane example ,

It’s like where at the end of a job application you are supposed to affix your signature ( i.e. swear an oath ) that all the particulars of this job application are true.

Well , maybe a particular isn’t exactly true , not because you have done anything wrong or because you have anything to hide , but because you have damn good reason to believe that in this case honesty would not be the best policy. It would instead be the kiss of death.

Or , there are not only sins of commission , but also sins of omission . So while you didn’t strictly lie in the job application , you did leave out some pertinent shit. * Wink *

But , wait a minute ; Why are you filling out this job application in the first place ?

For the fucking fun of it ?

      No.

You are filling out this job application because you are obliged to eat whether you want to or not.

You are filling out this job application to pay your grocery bill.

In an ideal world , that truth and honesty jazz is a door that should swing both ways.

But in reality , like in this case , it only swings one way.

Only you are in the dock , not them.

You aren’t demanding of them that they fill out a questionnaire , or demanding of them a binding signature.

Even if there isn’t literally a guy standing there with a gun pointed at you , the implicit coercion is no less real.

And that’s exactly what it is ; coercion.

Granted , they didn’t force you to apply for a job there.

But then , nobody asked you if you wanted to be saddled with a lifelong obligation to eat , either.

” followed to its logical conclusion …. ”

      NO , I would not say , ” Let’s dis – establish the police then ! ”

But I WOULD say people were fucking ASKING FOR IT when they went way beyond saying , merely and only , that ALL ANY government ever is is a necessary evil.

” When you are asked “do you understand the charges” you must reply in the negative because … ”

I’m guessing you and I read the same essay !

      I forget the guys name.

I doubt the legal validly and utility of what he claims.

But morally , and as objective fact , he is absolutely right.

As an objective fact you could not possibly understand the charges , even if you were a lawyer , even if you were a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Because , for example , one of the very reasons the U.S. Supreme Court exists is to INTERPRET already existing laws.

So ? What is the upshot of that ?

A law can read , word for word , the SAME on Tuesday as on Monday , but as per the INTERPRETATION of a higher court , the meaning has now on Tuesday completely changed.

There are quite a few other flies in the ointment , so , suffice to say , yes , the best that even a U.S. Supreme Court Justice can say about a given law and its meaning is , ” What it means DEPENDS ON ….we don’t know. It depends. ”

So , no , you don’t understand the charges.

The terrible thing about Franz Kafka’s , ” The Trial ” is that it isn’t fiction.

      • Tate December 28, 2020 at 12:36 am #

In the vast majority of cases, it’s rather clear what the charges are, at least as of this date, in terms of hard case law.

As we get further along into the new cultural dispensation of DIE (Diversity Inclusion Equity) however, it’s going to get harder & harder to understand the charges. But it won’t matter because they won’t bother to ask you that question.

      • messianicdruid December 28, 2020 at 4:48 am #

The point is : if you bring up constitutional rights in an equity court you are barking up the wrong tree. You cant get them there. By entering into various and sundry contracts with government oversight, marriage license, business license, corporate arrangements, etc you give the courts jurisdiction to enforce legal remedies to itself to force your compliance with their edicts, which as you say, they interpret in their own friendly manner. The trick is to avoid the contract and thus avoid the court. The attorneys are serving the court [ the bar] not you, even though your money is their goal. If you * stand under * the charges – the law – you are saying I accept my obligation for you to judge between the other entity of the contract and I will accept [ I consent ] to the fines, penalties etc. you decide.

I had a buddy who, when asked said, “No, do you?”. The judge was so flustered when he heard the response that he blurted out ” No, OF COURSE NOT ” meaning – This law ‘[ contract ] doesnt apply to me.

        Do you see it?

Dear Tate, If we cut off the tentacles perhaps they cannot reach us. We a sucking tentacles thiking they are teats.

Messianic, I don’t often spar with the higher powers. I responded with a wicked left when a light jab may have been more appropriate.

I am always humbled by Galactic and Universal powers and by what I call the Great Mysteries of the Holy Spirit.

      • messianicdruid December 28, 2020 at 8:37 am #

        They are definitely mysteries.

“The glory of God is to conceal a thing secret: but the king’s honor is to search out a thing.”

Like that fine fellow said before ” what you don’t know won’t help you”.

However, studying the writings in the labyrinth will not get us free.

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of YHWH our God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.” Seek YHWH [ life-giver-law-giver ] while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to YHWH and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares YHWH. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for YHWHs renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.”

Tucsonspur said, “I don’t often spar with the higher powers.”

I never do. But I will try to make dogs and usurpers [ pretenders ] aware of their own treading where angels fear.

It would be refreshing to not hear any name calling from our Liberal companions. We would never hear from them again. It seems to be the only thing they are capable of emoting.

    • KesaAnna December 27, 2020 at 11:08 pm #

That’s why I don’t call them liberals anymore . Why , for lack of a better term , I call them leftists.

I don’t suppose I have to convince you that there is nothing liberal about them ?

And just think about it. This allegedly represents only a small fraction of the plastic pollution pouring into the oceans. But since fear and profits are increasing is this only just getting started?

Whatever happened in Nashville who knows but the official narrative doesn’t explain the video of the trail of smoke descending toward the Earth right before the explosion. And why was the airspace above the downtown area closed if the source of the explosion was on the ground?

Think things in Portland are good now, wait till Feb, 1 when heroin and cocaine are decriminalized, and by law, most misdemeanors, even serious Class 1 misdemeanors, will not be prosecuted? We might be looking at the first true utopia in N America.

The worst that can happen is you get a stern talking too from one of the Portlandia social workers who is replacing cops.
