The signals from the political establishment to Donald Trump ring pretty clear now: get thee hence, thou big-bottomed orange menace to order and sanctity! Has ever a president been lonelier at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave? Lincoln’s “team of rivals” in the drear winter months of 1864 seem downright chummy in retrospect and, of course, poor Richard Nixon stayed swozzled on scotch whiskey during the darkest nights of Watergate, when he reputedly wandered the West Wing halls conversing with portraits of his predecessors.

The other power centers of America, especially the news media, insist that there is no evidence of fraud in the recent election and it’s time to get on with the hallowed ceremonies of transition. The post-Christmas suspense is killing them. Mr. Trump will not be moved to declare that he lost the election — probably for the excellent reason that he really didn’t, if there had been anything like an honest tally of the ballots. They hear murmurings of martial law and the Insurrection Act, and it all sounds to them like an imperial Nightmare on Elm Street. They can hear the tinkle of their lucrative perquisites shattering in the creases of their temporal lobes.

It’s said in the alt.media that the president wishes to exhaust all the formal alternatives before possibly moving onto the novelty steps of contesting this final act of the four-year coup against him, which brings us all the way to January 6, when the electoral college slates are toted up in the House chamber, Vice President Pence presiding. One popular fantasy has the Veep tossing out “certified” votes from states where irregularities were starkest in favor of alt.slates submitted by Republican-majority state legislatures — with Hieronymus Bosch-style Antifa chaos to follow all over the land. Sounds like a low percentage deal to me, but then… what’s actually at stake here?

Not to be too melodramatic, but something kind of like a Manchurian Candidate situation. How okay is it, actually, for Joe Biden, with a record of accepting large sums of money from China’s intel apparatus, to move into the Oval Office, especially after they laid the Covid-19 trip on the world? No problemo, the DNC and its vast network of apparatchiks answer. There’s no evidence of Ol’ Joe colluding for pay!

Oh, but there’s plenty of evidence, and quite a bit of it is in the public annals already, what with Hunter B’s laptop having been partially dissected since, at least, October, and a great tangle of slime-trails clearly revealed in the email logs and his corporate memoranda. And one must wonder if there is additional evidence in John Ratcliffe’s DNI files — you know, the place where every electron of recorded information ever transmitted on the Internet sleeps. You might have forgotten that something a little screwy is going on there, since the ODNI was supposed to issue a public report on the election (and its adumbrations) by December 18 and the fateful report was indefinitely postponed for reasons so far unknown.

Maybe the president’s antagonists are acting super-anxious to get rid of him — and constructing yet another media campaign to agitate public opinion — because there is evidence that other persons in government, persons of both parties, have been importuned by CCP largesse to perform services in recent years, not to mention other incriminating highjinks they’d hoped would fade harmlessly into history with tags such as the Clinton Foundation, the Open Societies Foundations, Skolkovo, Uranium One, the Maidan Uprising, the Steele Dossier, the Mueller investigation… you get the picture… a vast sepulcher of unholy rot where the Deep State has tried to entomb its most shameful secrets, including now the dark deeds of Election 2020.

Problematical, also, is the likelihood — in the event that he actually does concede and agree to exit the scene — that Mr. Trump will transition into post-presidential life with a bale of secret knowledge so huge, reeking, and damaging to his enemies, gathered over four years of access to the nation’s intel files, that not a congressman, senator, or high-up bureaucratic lifer will be left standing as the information dribbles out strategically in the months-to-come of the as-yet hypothetical Biden-Harris (or Harris-Biden) Administration. Imagine what Ol’ Joe, Kamala, Nancy, Chuck, perhaps even “Cocaine” Mitch and the rest of the Beltway gang are fretting about as they chug down their midnight Zolpedims. The Golden Golem of Greatness is not fading away from the Swamp crime scene no matter which way this thing turns out. And don’t forget, he is not exactly alone. Tens of millions of extremely pissed-off Americans are standing-by pretty quietly, for now, from sea to shining sea, behind him.

      My cynicism is at an all time high.

      Why would any of this information have any effect on what is going on in our country today. Why would this revelation cause those who want power to stand up, admit their mistake and pursue an honest outcome.

      Joe Biden could stand at the podium with horns, a pointy tail and a friggin’ pitch fork, and still be heralded as having won the election by the other half of the country who simply don’t care about the truth.

      It’s in our hands now. We either act, or we go gently into that good night.

            I can’t speak for all of us “you people,” but my thoughts on Russia in 2016 were that it seemed at the time like it might be corrupt voting machines, but I never heard much in the way of evidence of that (regardless I think all voting should be on paper ballots) and assumed it wasn’t a thing.

            What seems to have been settled on is that Russia’s interference mainly came down to social media shenanigans:

            What really swung the election in 2016 was 1. No one thinking Trump stood a chance 2. Hillary being an uninspiring candidate, and sexism didn’t help either 3. The electoral college not reflecting the popular vote (by design). So that was that. A giant a-hole became president, and it sucked.

            Fast-forward to 2020: Here, finally, is our chance! To get rid of the a-hole! MASSIVE enthusiasm, for, as a yard sign in my neighborhood said, “Any Functioning Adult.”

            “But Joe couldn’t get people to come to his rallies,” some say. Yes, because there was and still is this pandemic thing, and we were encouraged to stay away.

            All those dems who were lulled into complacency in 2016 were rarin’ to go this time around. Joe got ahead in the polls and stayed there. Why think cheating was even necessary? It wasn’t.

            And all of Trump’s lawyers, money, and appointed judges can’t upend this win for Democrats and for democracy, because they can’t find evidence of cheating, because it’s not there.

            It sucks to lose. I remember. I remember the sick sensation, purely out of fear that this greedy narcissist was going to burn the place down. I remember the shock that my own family didn’t see the danger I saw, and found this con man entertaining.

            This whole schism of reality opened up, where we all look at this one guy and see vastly different things.

            Anyway, the law demands proof of cheating, and there isn’t any. See the 50 or so dismissed cases.

            But I do get that some parts of this election do seem fishy. I mean, Mitch McConnell? Winning Democratic strongholds? This year of all year? I call BS:

            I can only really run with that assumption election machines have allowed cheating if the claim has been investigated, put through the legal system, and found to have merit.             No Yohannon – He won..by winning – Both the Popular Vote (by a LANDSLIDE) and the College Vote (convincingly).
            In 2016, the Democrats did whine long and loud about alleged Russian meddling – mainly in social media, but how many law suits did they launch to try and overturn the Election? None. Zippo. Zilch. President Obama handed over Power immediately and his People conducted the transition with dignity.
            Of course The Great Comb Over got creamed (as the Polls said he would) and of course the postals went largely in Biden’s favour – Most folks with any intelligence chose to do so, given Covid19 and standing in close quarters at a crowded venue with strangers is, at this time, something best avoided if possible.
            News flash: Postal votes are NOT “illegal” votes, as much as some churlish, ignorant, dumb-assed buffoon (and the even bigger buffoons who support him) wish it was.
            Your Country has an independent judiciary – Trump and his merry band of elves have been thrown out of every one of them because they have not presented a scintilla of evidence to support their claims of Electoral fraud.
            Hillary lost in 2016 because she was poor Candidate, and because a lot of folks were so fed up with BOTH parties that they went with the outsider.
            Trump lost this one because he was an even worse President.
            As for Biden’s “links” with China – All the intel we have seen here in Australia indicates that the Chinese were desperately hoping for a TRUMP victory. They figured that another four years with him at the Helm would just about finish your Country.
            I wish your country well – The World need you. I wish President Elect Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris every success – Especially VP Harris, as I have a feeling she is the one who is ultimately going to sort things out… and I have the feeling she is up to the task.

          Here’s a suggestion, 1 man, representing each 1000 voters for Trump, show up on January 19th, at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, all exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.

          Puts about 74K armed men there, to contest the election – a We The People thang – prepared to stay until the criminal conduct, proven massive voter fraud, “baseless accusations”, and “lack of evidence” claims are sorted out?

          This is not to suggest violence in any way you understand, only an exercise of Constitutional Rights, as the Founders intended, but there will be no pink pussy hats.

          What do we have to lose if we go? Maybe a better question is, what do we lose if we don’t go?

      It’s not a fantasy, Jim…It’s a lot of drama over something that has already happened at least twice in American history…Thomas Jefferson, after losing the 1796 election when 3 of his electors deserted him for Adams, won the 1800 election outright(otherwise it would have gone to the House) by counting 3 dubious Georgia electors for himself…In 1876, the Republican VP under Grant counted two entirely bogus delegations from Florida and Tennessee who had been selected by the Army of Occupation, defeating Democrat Tilden by 1 vote…

      If Pence does his job, Trump will win in the electoral college..After that, it’s all good….

        However the Electoral Count Act of 1887 was passed precisely to bring some order to the process.

        VP Mike Pence chairs the Joint Session, but his role is mostly ceremonial, and he certainly doesn’t have any powers to decide whether an electoral slate from any state is valid or not.

        If there is an objection, the houses divide and both must vote to reject, replace, or overturn an electoral slate, and that won’t happen with a Democrat majority in the House. Even the Senate seems unenthusiastic.

        Apart from that, the pro-Trump shadow electors have no standing – they were not passed by legislatures nor certified by the relevant state governors.

        There are even comments that Mike Pence might not even turn up – that he’s heading overseas that day.

          Makes no difference that there is a Democrat majority – House votes are one per State Delegation – 50 votes total, period.

          Republican State Delegations, currently outnumber Democrat Delegations.

            For all deliberations (in both the House and Senate) on any objections to one or more electoral slates, both houses vote with every member having a vote – as per normal.

            The only occasion where the House votes by state delegation (with each state getting just one vote) is if there is a contingent election for president.

            A contingent election is only required if no candidate receives half of the electoral votes counted. And because the Democrats have a numerical majority in the House, that scenario will not happen on Jan 6.

            So Joe Biden still gets to 306 … at least from my reading.

          If Mike Pence accepts that the Trump administration ends on Jan 20, then he has to find a job, and make a decision as to whether he is going to run for office in 2022 or 2024.

          His political antennae will be tuned, to constantly check whether Trump has any really sustained power over the GOP base or not – once he is no longer president.

          Will depend a lot also on how many legal and financial entanglements that Trump finds himself in next year … Pence may wish to distance himself substantially.

          I remain intrigued that, if there is a “clear case of fraud”, no court cases have been able to provide sufficient (ie credible) evidence to any court, including the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

          Has it been mostly a case of legal ineffectiveness by the Trump team, or some other factor?

            Is any court going to do anything before next Wednesday, when Congress meets in Joint Session? And it would require decisions for Donald Trump in three states to reverse the Joe Biden majority.

    JHK in the end lays out a plausible theory that Trump will unload on the opposition. Except people tend to forget that the Main Stream Media is part of the Deep State. They are NOT going to report on any of Joe Biden and his son Hunter’s shenanigan’s.

    Trump once out of Office will be careful to stoke the flames of the Deep State unless he wants to face their anger. Hopefully he’ll be reminded of what happened to JFK and Robert Kennedy.

    More importantly, Trump in the end won’t care as he’s a billionaire, in his 70’s and took a shot at righting some of the wrongs of the US Gov’t. In the end he became part of the problem because he brought in the same Swamp creatures into his administration, he said he would eliminate.

    The USSA is too far down the rabbit hole to bring back. People need to realize that every Empire in world history has it’s day in the sun and eventually “OFF’s” itself by becoming too large. It happened to the Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Brits and you can add the USSA to go down in flames like the rest of those Empires.

      The worst of those creatures, IMO, is the execrable Dr. Fauci (along with Dr.s Birx and Redfield).

      In keeping with the Nixon references, I’m feeling a bit like John Dean (only a bit!) with his cancer on the presidency speech.

      I never got to make such a speech in person, I can’t even make it indirectly, without getting my head handed to me by those of the “Trump can do no wrong” school of thought.

      Worse are the arguments I get- it isn’t Trump, the 10th Amendment gives governors the power . No it does not.

      He can’t get rid of Fauci, Nancy Pelosi will become angry . The MSM will fuss. He’s “boxed in” blah blah blah.

      When I speak to the average Trump supporter I meet, though, they are very clear about it, they want those people gone, they want this nonsense to be OVER.

      That “vaccine” they are pushing is experimental. It can only be distributed under a state of emergency. This is the reason the phony emergency has been extended not once, but twice, and it is President Trump who extended it.

      He did this to himself, he stopped listening to the people who put him where he is.

            Fauci has consistently gotten it wrong but even with his mediocre skills, has kept his job. He stood by his “prediction” that HIV/AIDS would be 10% spread by heterosexual contact and it’s never been more than 4% but he would not retract his statement. These are our public servants — people who can tell us where we can go, what vaccines we and our children must take (I’m not anti-vaccine, I’m anti-coercion) and whether or not we’ll be allowed on a plane.

          I saw yesterday where the Admiral in charge of Covid-19 vaccines at the CDC said yesterday, “By June 2021, every American will have had the vaccine.”

          Really?? Newborn infants? Pregnant women and those women trying to get pregnant? Americans with serious allergies and those who bruise easily are currently exempt from getting the vaccine.

          Not to mention the millions who simply do not want the vaccine in their bodies.

          My understanding is that the “authorities” will attempt to strong arm everyone into getting the vaccine by threatening to quarantine them, take away their banking privileges, deny them the right to attend public schools that have been funded with taxpayer dollars etc.

          The second the US government tries to make this vaccine “mandatory” will be the moment millions of Americans will finally get off their asses and say, “Okay. That’s it.”

He also wants everyone in the world to get one of his shots. His employee, Fauxi, admitted that he’s lied about herd immunity in order to hornswaggle people into getting a toxin- filled inoculation against this flu, even though it’s already mutating as flus and colds are wont to do. This is public knowledge, but everyone is so scared of catching a disease with a 99% survival rate that everyone is ignoring it because “Trump is an idiot” and “Trump didn’t do anything to stop the virus” and “America needs socialism NOW or we’ll burn the whole goddamn thing to the ground.”

            When Trump is gone and our rights are gone and our ability to own anything is gone, will Americans finally do something about the keep correct?         I believe that the unfolding mess is our financial plight. Trump has done nothing but aggravate the incredible debt load we are carrying. At some point the bond market will implode, sending interest rates much higher, where they naturally belong. The dollar as world’s reserve currency is already threatened and may not survive at that point. What little is left? I’m not sure about that and it certainly doesn’t seem that much of the character of the American people is left. The weight of this will likely force a change of governance with strong men coming to power. The nature of that power is a big question mark for me.

    Frankly, I do not think that any of this matters. They’ve printed the currency into worthlessness while creating a scenario where more than half of US households now depend on government payments or their moratorium edicts in order to survive.

    Velocity of our currency is just above one which means that the currency created vanishes as quickly as it is conjured up. The principle and interest, though, remain to be repaid by the taxpayer – all 28 trillion of it (plus all the unfunded liabilities).

    Finally, that Trump hesitated to sign the bill did nothing but expose all the pork that was in it. People got to see for themselves a 5500 page give-a-way while their “resistance”, loss of work, loss of purchasing power was rewarded by a one time check for $600.

    The end can’t be far off now.

        SW, the first stimulus check of $1200 and this next one (be it $600 or $2,000) are non-taxable. Extra stimulus money paid out as unemployment benefits ; however, is taxable. Not sure about all the other programs. Consult an accountant or tax lawyer.

      Your statement of velocity of money is correct. That is the only thing holding hyperinflation at bay and with more phony money being added to the Fed’s balance sheet day by day, it’s only a matter of time for inflation to get out of hand. Ultimately, we have no one to blame but ourselves, as the politicians are just giving our fat and lazy population what they want.
      We don’t know how far away is the end of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency; those things can go on longer than we think.

        In “Capital in the 21st Century” Thomas Piketty lays out a pretty clear history of what happens when wealth accumulates in the hands of a very few people. The wealth always gets re-distributed or destroyed. Redistribution can come through taxation or civil upheaval. Destruction comes through war or financial system collapse. Of the four, most people would prefer taxation to solve the problem. Is it a coincidence that the top 1% of wealthy Americans hold about $26 Trillion in wealth and that the national debt is about $27Trillion? Just doing the numbers, and assuming that the current crop of Red Hat reactionaries goes back to their TV’s and Pizzas next year, it looks like it will be time to Eat the Rich as O’Rourke would say. We’ve done it before and things seemed to go OK for most of us.

I love all three of those things in principle, but I can feel there’s going to be a downturn in the general American psyche this year. A collective seasonal depression begins for the nation. The things to look forward to have passed, and we’re left with…blah.

    Soon, even the enthusiastic and empowered Biden voter bloc (or especially them?) will come to be disaffected by the choice they were given and the lack of something good to be found there. More businesses down, more freedoms willingly given away, the likely shocking number of vaccination side effect horror stories that will seep out and then be softly quashed by the msm…spring may feel good for a few days as the air smells refreshingly hopeful, but people will not feel fulfilled and rejuvenated as they once did.

    Or…hell, maybe it’s that I lost the fantasy football championship yesterday and I’m feeling a bit pessimistic this morning. Either way, get some sun (where you can find it), exercise (where you can do so without getting hypothermia), and take your vitamins. Gonna be a strange winter.

        The local ski area is a second tier destination resort. They designed an extensive Corvid Compliance protocol in order to be allowed to operate in the face of county-wide mask mandates and rolling lock-downs. Part of their program is to hire a roving band of Mast Nazis who’s job it is to make sure that everyone is properly muzzled.

        I went up to the mountain yesterday,unable to resist the sunshine in spite of the Christmas hordes. All of the masks being worn were of the cloth variety — Mast Nazis and the pubic alike. (Which science and simple logic show to be completely ineffective in stopping nano-sized particles many sizes smaller than the openings in the cloth material.)

        One encouraging sign in this clusterfuck—– at least half the skiers on the mountain have reached the end of accepting Control. Ten Mask Nazis for 1500 people were simply ignored as the skiers loaded onto chair lifts and harvested Vitamin D.

        One can only hope that it is the first sign of refusal to accept an fraudulent election managed by the CIA Dominion servers in the Frankfurt Germany office. And refusal to accept DNA alteration by mRNA “vaccines.”

    Trump has the power of the primary, so long as honest elections are held. He could, if he wants, advise the Trump supporters to back one GOP Senator in Georgia, and sink the other. That would let EVERY Senator know that he is now the power broker.

    That is one reason why the establishment GOP doesn’t want to look too closely at election fraud. Trump is likely a bigger threat to them than the Democrats at this point.

      Then I was waiting for an important piece of mail, and I kept blaming the Thanksgiving holiday and the sender for the delay, but after receiving it on the 21st, I looked at the postmark and it was stamped the fifteenth.

      This was local, it should have arrived on the 16th.

    How are we ever going to decrease the national debt if the number of gimme folks outnumber the number of productive folks. The government never producers one dollar of wealth but it sure can spend the public’s wealth. Hence the deficit and debt shooting up like rockets.

    The sins of the Deep State are documented on the history of the national debt. They will never stop taxing and spending as that is the source of their power. Also, they are no longer part of us, the public of the US. This election was the final stage of their separation from us. IT and manipulation of ballot counts, per Joe Stalin, now invalidate any election result. Hence, why bother to care, just stay in your basement.
    The 1.4 trillion you are seeing in this relief bill is just the beginning. The Dems have won for now, whatever their means. Spending will now be the answer to all social problems. Forget about the debt, until your piece of it comes due for payment, ie you retire, and there is nothing there.

    The end approacheth. One of the signs is when the Deep State officially divorces itself from the debt, which is in process now.

    The crud is the mechanism. Spend, spend to try to keep the economy afloat. No amount of money, not wealth, is going to stop the downfall now. No party has any answers. And with the quality of our elected government officials, it is mission impossible.

      You better take your Economics 101 again. The humungous US debt is not the result of too much taxation but exactly the opposite, too little taxation. You only have to look at the federal tax brackets of the 1950-60 and compare them to the last forty years, to see where the whole monetary system began to collapse. Yes there is wasteful spending that can be cut down, but the country needs significant revenue boost to begin to amortize the insane debt and finance the much-needed rehab of the infrastructure.

          Right! A very long term plan of economic enhancement with tax reductions and spending reductions is needed. Looong term 30 to fifty years. And the rapid reduction of the gimme percentage of the country as they do not produce wealth to enhance the economic growth.

          The most recent deficit reduction, Clinton in the late 90s, was done with welfare reform, ie gimme reduction. Since then they have skyrocketed and so has the debt.

          Look around, trillions spent on Covid and trillions for social programs under the Dems control.

          We have not got a chance.

        Your understanding of economics is pretty limited it seems.

        To offset debt, one must have revenue, earnings. For the taxing agency, there must be a robust economy to tap for funds. Every dollar taken from the economy to pay for gimmes is a dollar that is not being invested in the economy. The government is a sink for wealth not a source.

        After a while of acquiring gimme folks, which the Dems have excelled at, their drain on the economy is filled in with more and more debt.

        Trump was right, more economy growth, more tax revenue.

        His problem, he was fifty years too late. Just like in family finances, when money is borrowed to pay interest payments, bankruptcy is inevitable and the downward trend cannot be reversed.

        What would happen if we really increased taxes to the point that we could start paying down the debt. Just what happened with Obama, when corporate taxes were 35%. Everybody left and went to China. China exploded its economy over twenty years thanks to us.

        Expatriate citizens are starting to increase due to inability to pay all the taxes. Both from state to state and US to foreign lands.

        Taxes must be balanced and minimized to allow adequate economic growth to support the tax base, and support the expenditures needed.

        The US has become a paupers paradise. We support so many gimmes that there is no way to pay the freight. Why? Because gimmes do not create any wealth to tax.

        So if we want more gimme voters to support our own political base, we are just increasing the debt. That IS the problem, and the Covid increase of unintentional gimmes, not their fault, is proof.

    If only he’d done that four years ago, he’d have been embraced. I thoroughly expected his rhetoric and Twitter style to change the second he entered the Oval Office. “We just don’t say things that way, sir. Here’s how you speak to connect to more people (cue Obama speech video)” I appreciated him being him, it was amusing and refreshing, if not completely annoying at times.

    But now that he has some taste of loss, he’s acting like a normal human. Maybe this will do him some good.

Oh sure, supporters may blame the Evil Dems and Gutless Reps who did not work with Trump. And they do get their big share of the blame. But bottom line, you reap what you sow. Trump sowed chaos and anger and smirking and working angles to bring benefit to his insiders for four years and now it’s harvest time of a tarnished legacy and millions of heartbroken and disillusioned supporters who still wear red caps and want to believe… because they have nothing else left to believe in.

      The 12 th amendment states the process starts with “The electors”.

      Who is that exactly and how do the states pick them? Is the elector selection process legal? There are 50 different answers to that question.

      For example, two Pennsylvania sets of electors exist going to the VP. The first the original, ordained by their Supreme Court, and the second selected by their legislature, “taking back their power”. Which goes to the final selection process in DC?

      This is not so cut and dry as you seem to think. The procedure may get reviewed by the SCOTUS before all is said and done, January 20 is no sure thing.

      You hang your hat on your understanding of the Constitution, which I just one in one hundred million. Only time will tell.

      Trumpers, do not put away your MAGA hats just yet. They corruption of this election may be undone yet.

            Well, I replastered a few walls in the basement. As I was doing some painting a few weeks ago, around 11 p.m., I heard some low pitched murmering coming from a back room. Figured I was hearing things.

            About 10 minutes later all of my body hair stood on end and I felt a presence approaching my spot on the stairs. I tried to ignore it and it became overwhelming. Almost woke my wife up to come and stand at the top of the stairs so I could finish.

            I have had other experiences like this, but I have never been so unsettled before.

            Dunno what it was, but somewhat related: I was recording some guitar tracks here for a music project and captured what sounds like a (loud) scream at the end of a take. Could be some weird overtones that the mic caught, but man does it sound like a German dude yelling “jaaaaaaaaaaaaa!”

            I took it to mean he/it liked the track.

      I have known five people who have had it.

      None of them wound up permanently invalided.

      On a personal note , the first person I knew who got it was an asshole before she got it , and a year after having contracted the malady , she seems no less the asshole than before.

      One of the five did die .

      — She was in a nursing home , and I’m certain regarding my memory on this ; She was expected to die soon anyway , and that was the prognostication a year and a half ago , before anyone had even heard of Covid.

      Now for speculation ;

      I suspect that hundreds or even thousands in my immediate circle have either been exposed to it , or even have it , but just don’t know they have it.

      Rather than this scaring me , or making me all paranoid and shit ,

      If true , it rather instead suggests to me that this simply is not the Black Death.

          I can’t remember the presumed mechanism, StE, but I do recall from way back in the early stages of deaths in Wuhan itself, that very few of the deaths were among smokers. Lots were old men (70% of Covid deaths are in men, I think), and lots of old men in China smoke, apparently. But the smokers were spared the worst, proportionately.

          I also recall reading a lovely (but short) book called ‘The Forgetting’ many years ago when my mother was taking care of her sister, who had Alzheimer’s. I’d recommend it to anyone with a demented relative – I seem to recall it won the BMA prize for the popular medicine category for the relevant year … but I digress. The author mentioned that smoking seemed to be protective against Alzheimer’s, for some unknown reason. He cited a study, as they do, and of course other studies have said other things, but for what it’s worth …

          But when a person gets dementia, they go back to the baby’s reaction of splaying out the toes. Strange. A propos of nothing, but it stuck in my mind.

          I think it maybe followed the pattern of how the book described the disease – as an unlearning of things people had learned over their lifetime.

          My daughter was possibly exposed to covid at her work.
          Four tests now one positive three negative.
          First one came back positive next three negative.
          Her work is making her take yet another one.
          Her husband is about to go into quarantine for some deployment work up.
          The testing as of right now is a joke and costs $200 a pop.
          Her company is spending $1,000 on virus test that don’t work on just her.
          They have several hundred people that pop in and out of the office at any time. Start doing the math and it is mind boggling.
          How many billions of dollars are being spent on just the testing?
          How many trillions of dollars are being lost in productivity?
          Closed businesses?
          Never to return?
          I noticed yesterday a dry cleaner closed up shop down the street and that industry may never recover.

And if it doesn’t mean anything then it would seem that elections and elected officials don’t mean much either at that point. In any case.       The researchers said that their findings did not show that the virus couldn’t be passed on by asymptomatic carriers, and they didn’t suggest that their findings were generalisable.

      “They said that strict measures—such as mask wearing, hand washing, social distancing, and lockdown—were successful in reducing the virulence of SARS-CoV-2 in Wuhan and that asymptomatic people in Wuhan may have low viral loads.       The good news is that a lower percentage of people are now dying of it because treatment is gradually getting better. The bad news is that more ICU beds are needed for people getting that more effective treatment than for dead people, who liberate those beds more quickly. Life can be like that. What matters for management is hospital throughput, not the number of deaths, which is a personal issue at the end of the day.

      And it’s worth remembering that you can build all the Nightingale Hospitals you want, but if you don’t have trained staff for them they might as well be warehouses for garden gnomes.

      It seems to me that the determiner of whether you get really sick, or not so much or even asymptomatic may depend on how big a dose of visions you get hit with. That may also pertain to testing. We know that the virus invades certain areas in different people. Testing only checks respiratory sources, saliva, or frontal nose or pharynx. Some people only get the crud in their gut.

      Testing is not reliable and is only a guide.

      One comment here for all the hoaxers.

      You are right, this situation with the economy is nearing criticality. Let ‘er rip is not an option as it will shut down the economy by itself.

      So what to do? Open everything up and enforce the distancing laws that have been known since the beginning of this fiasco. The real problem is the refusal of people to respect or understand what this crud is capable of. Stories abound of former hoaxers that have either gotten the crud or had a family member get it renouncing their hoax beliefs.

      Flu has been ignored for a long time. Get your flu shot. But sometimes they miss. We end up with a heavy flu season where schools shut down, 30% of folks end up at home and the economy is severely impacted. That is the flu!

      Now we face the crud! Many times more transmissible and a factor of 2or3 more deadly. And now it seems mutating. Again, what to do?
      Just ignore it like the flu? Stand by for a medical system disaster as California is currently showing us.

      Vaccinate like crazy? What potential unknowns exist here? Who should take the risks of side effects or long term effects? Maybe folks who have substantial risks from the disease, health care workers and caretakers and older folks. Certainly not AOC.

      We need to kill viruses, to cure folks who get it. That is the ultimate answer. And where trillions of dollars should be spent, not in Pakistan.

            Talking of sophistries, I have read the car accident trope a whole lot of times on this very website. How many people actually died in car accidents within 28 days of a positive Covid test, and were actually recorded on a death certificate as having died of Covid even if they broke their neck and crushed every vital organ in the accident? And the coroner said ‘yeah, fine’.

            And how many people died 29 days or more after a positive Covid test of the sequelae of Covid, but weren’t recorded as dying of Covid because they didn’t die within 28 days?

            I’d suggest the latter probably happened more often than the former, but that’s just me. Maybe people are being knocked down right, left and centre over your way.

            And don’t forget it was our very own neurodoc who pointed out the huge number of false negatives. Those equate to how many Covid deaths that weren’t counted as such?

      The real question here is why anyone would consider this a surprising result, evidence of a Covid hoax, or, sarcastically, a “miracle”. Like it or not, a majority of people in the US are taking the precautions of mask wearing, social distancing, washing hands often and disinfecting surfaces. Is there some reason to think that these measures would not be effective against the spread of flu, or, for that matter, any disease spread by droplets or on surfaces?

      Another fact is that the CDC has already attributed more than 50k deaths to flu/pneumonia (separate from Covid deaths) so far this year. Here is the data source for that:

      That same data source shows that over the first 50 weeks of 2020 there have been 334,654 more deaths than over the same period of 2019. So, even if every single death that should have been attributed to flu was instead attributed to Covid, you’ve still got a minimum of about 250k excess deaths to explain.

But to his credit it is true that vaccine development is a super slow process and in this case the vaccine rollouts were super fast. To me that is actually terrifying but again, if you are thinking speed then he did well. If you were truly concerned about the alleged pandemic then you would be in a better mood at this point so it appears something else is going on.

I am very very skeptical of everything covid just because look at the mountains of conflicting information and data out there. And health officials have openly stated they have made mistakes on responses every step of the way. So I simply question the efficacy of the masks and vaccines.             After four days of thumping around and cussing my wife forced me to go in for what appeared to be a fractured ankle yesterday.

            Urgent care total time yesterday a little over 2.5 hours@10:00am.

            There were exactly three beds being used.
            Bright note I get to hobble around with a brace/boot for the next month not a busted ankle.
            There were around thirty open beds so not sure where this massive problem is but it is not here in sunny southern California.
            Bad news no Vicodin just ibuprofen.
            Good news I can’t go for a jog which is how I blew my ankle out.
            Bad news I need to go for a jog cause I ate like a pig the last week.
            Makers mark, Cayenne pepper and brown sugar carrots!
            Whiskey brown sugar basted ham with Emeril’s essence added!
            Potato, cheese and sour cream casserole.
            Hawaiian sweet rolls!
            Home made cheese cake with blueberries on top.
            A bunch of Captain Morgan on ice Canada dry new Bold ginger ale with a lime twist! Delicious!!!!!

            I talked to the two nurses and doctor about the current epidemic and they all said the hospital right now is well positioned to handle most things that come at them bed space wise.
            Staffing is where they are hurting most of them are working double shifts.
            Bummed the carrots are all gone……

    Sydney Powell on with Todd Herman in for Rush: The accusation against General Flynn that he was a Russian agent was the worst abuse of power I have ever witnessed.

    She also talked about the Steal. She brought up that many people up watching late at night had witness the board change with Trump votes disappearing and going over to Biden. Some people made screen shots of this. One guy used the NYT’s data to confirm this. I was going to post the article a few weeks ago but it disappeared.

    Sydney: No Judge anywhere has looked at our evidence or really even looked at our affadavits.

    Not all of these Judges are “traitors” per se. They are loyal to the new System that was created quietly without anyone noticing. As the guy who burned himself alive said, “the second set of books”. They didn’t know they had switched their allegiance. Their loyalty grew in the dark along with the new system. Human frailty being manipulated by Masters of Darkness.

    One would expect more from the Supreme Court but alas, even “conservatives” have rotted. They will be loyal to the New Regime if Trump succeeds. They know which side their bread is buttered on at least. But as a warning, all but Alito and Thomas will have to go back to private life.

They just go back and forth, arguing about inconsequential things while doing nothing about the issues that count. They avoid them because then they have to take a real position which jeopardizes votes. Two years of doing nothing, then the process starts all over again. What a crock!

      Why it never changes? Because they control everything! The past four years, if anything, is proof of that statement.

    I will repeat something I wrote earlier for everybody’s perusal and opinion.

    Who will be the most powerful person in DC if even one GOPer wins in Georgia?

    More powerful than the president?

    Who will control the passage of every law than makes it through the Congress?

    Not the speaker? Not the Majority leader.

    This man and his two female cohorts will rule the place, and he knows it.

    He will also run for president in 2024, again.

    Guess who? What do you wear on your hands when it gets cold out?

          Those LDS boys ALREADY control huge swathes of the permanent apparatus of the Deep State; they are just very quiet about it. There’s a reason those huge NSA arrays are set down in Utah, and it ain’t the climate. Anecdotally, I observed that a disproportionate number of naval commissions (intel, supply, JAG; not usually tip of the spear or ship-driver types), are held by the no-coffee crowd, too.

      Just like Trump, he is accustomed to getting what he wants.

      Where Trump is direct, Romney veils his predations with tact and diplomacy. Manipulative. Cunning. He tries to keep his ulterior motives concealed. Yet they’re there.

      He did not expect Trump to be a barrier to his path after Hillary. That delays what is his.

      A second term of Trump is unacceptable. It would surely mean another Democrat after Trump, as their game goes, and that would age him out.

        That turd only floats one way, field. The Republican party is finished if someone like Romney (or Paul Ryan) gets the nod. The Deplorables have finally caught onto the grift in numbers sizable enough to matter. The GOP either becomes a populist nationalist party by 2024 or it’s curtains. There’s lots of Trump voters in Georgia who are going to sit out the Senate runoff. I can’t say I blame ’em.
