Naomi Wolf’s new book is the just-published Facing the Beast: Courage, Faith, and Resistance in a New Dark Age. Naomi has become a field marshal in the battle for medical freedom, assembling a staff of over three-thousand researchers to analyze the Pfizer drug trial documents that the company wanted to keep secret for the next seventy-five years — but were forced to release under a court order. Naomi’s website, The Daily Clout is an excellent source of info on the battle for medical freedom and women’s health. Her other recent books include the New York Times bestsellers Vagina, The End of America, and Give Me Liberty, in addition to the landmark bestseller The Beauty Myth. A former Rhodes Scholar, she completed a doctorate in English language and literature from the University of Oxford in 2015, was a research fellow at Barnard College and the University of Oxford, and taught rhetoric at the George Washington University and Victorian studies at Stony Brook University. Naomi Wolf lives in the Hudson River Valley.

Thoughtful discussion. Thanks for interviewing a woman, Jimbo. At around the 30 min. mark, there is a discussion about women serving as college presidents and how they might be doing. I invite listeners to consider the case of Oberlin College in Ohio (my alma mater), and its current black female president, Carmen Twillie Ambar, and draw your own conclusions. This has not been an entirely smooth journey, shall we say. Meanwhile, RFK Jr for president and Naomi Wolf for VP in 2024!

I grow tired of Leftists “seeing the light” and then failing to connect the dots that everything they supported for their entire lives inevitably led us directly to where we are now. I figured it our when I was 12, and I’m not that smart.

Naomi forgot about New Zealand when listing the countries that slipped into authoritarian rule. Oops, run by a woman, Jacinda Ardern.

I thought the same thing… and she was one of the worst.

The tyrannical women really do stand out, don’t they. I don’t know how much of that is due to the contrast between our normal experience with most women and what these ladies became for all the public to see, and how much is due to the extremity of their actions as compared to men’s. I think it’s both.
There are real differences overall between men and women, and they both have their strong and weak points.
One notoriously cruel empress in China, which is a misogynistic society, but she ruled nonetheless, felt that she had to put on a show of exceptional cruelty to maintain political control. Her private memoirs showed her exclaiming that this was just not a job for women. It was hellish to have to cast aside her urge to nurture.
In ancient Japan, religion was women’s sphere and politics was men’s.

    Jim,

You and Naomi are two very different people I’ve admired for years. I’ve read portentous books from each of you and have a deep respect for you both. At one time even working on a song based specifically on End of America – a difficult concept to distill.

You disagreed with each other on a crucial topic; the use of force to implement totalitarian edicts. I think I could effectively argue along side you why it won’t happen – why it will break down. Yet I agree with Naomi. It’s happening already with capture of the executive. The open border is as obvious as it is ominous. Yet the introduction of additional mercenary forces could manifest in novel, soulless and unpredictable ways.

Anyway, thank you for having Naomi on your podcast. Timely discussion. She is a remarkable person and, like you, is doing an extraordinary service for us all.

Jim, I* could hear Naomi’s asshole pucker when you brought up women’s culpability in leadership failures… which I have noticed for years now across the societal spectrum. Funny shit… her attitude changed right there. Reminds me of my ex-wife… every time she’d be bitching for no reason, I’d say “is it that time of the month already?”!

I don’t know if it is just my download but Dr Naomi only comes through as mono (on a single channel) but Jim on both. Tolerable on the desktop but almost inaudible on the MP3 when outdoors doing chores.

Dr. Wolf is such a diehard leftist feminist that she suffers horribly from cognitive dissonance whenever an issue is raised that might paint women in a negative light.

It greatly reduces her gravitas when she is unable to practice reason when it comes to the sexes.

New Zealand led the world in its rush to authoritarianism, and she conveniently left that out, nor did she mention so many states that were run by women and were among the worst in their response to the Covid mandates, etc., but she was quick to blame men.

    Hey Jim,

I don’t know if you noticed it but, your voice is in one channel and Naomi is heard in the other channel. Complete separation instead of the spatial effect that stereo normally provides.

I’m no audio geek but, it does interfere with listening. Please consider using monaural (mono) recording instead so both ears get the same thing.
