Tom Luongo is the voice behind the Gold, Goat’s ’n’ Guns blog and podcast, often featured on Zero Hedge and other sites. We venture into the dark backwaters and sidetracks of global intrigue as Western Civ goes off the rails and the US midterm election looms ominously weeks ahead. Tom describes himself as a former research scientist, amateur diary-goat farmer, anarchy-libertarian, and obstreperous Austrian economist. He built the house he lives in and he’s a lot of fun.
The KunstlerCast theme music is the beautiful Two Rivers Waltz written and performed by Larry Unger.

Good One, Jim and Tom
Unreal. At first I thought Luogo was off the wall. After a while I was climbing the wall. The proposition here is that there is that 1. The USA vs Germany and Europe war is proceeding under the surface > for ownership of Europe.. 2.
2 Secondly that the Banksters and Davos and the WEF are at financial War and not as I believed both agents of Z1on

An unlikely comment … I wish I had considered importing linseed oil based paint in New Zealand recently when I was painting a fence lining.
In our temperate climate the Macrocarpa wood never really dries, so I have known for a long time I lock moisture in, even with the pretend oil-based paint NZ has.
It was my system to leave one side of the surface unpainted, but that is just playing around.
If you want the wood to last, it’s true you need paint with good vegetable oil in it.
Not sure I can believe his statements about Russian logistics and force projection. The Ruskies are famous for developing armored vehicles that are air-transportable and able to be air dropped.
Luongo’s comment at 16:55 about ‘the massive amount of armor across the Kerch Straight bridge…which even the Brits don’t dare bomb” (ergo no one is willing to attack the bridge) is now demonstrably wrong.
A large explosion occurred on the Kerch bridge in the last ten hours or so, causing a section to collapse, and that has set fire to nearby oil tanks on another section of the bridge. See the BBC news.
Luongo’s days as a military planner were obviously brief. But he’s fun to listen to, so check out the podcast.
Interesting conversation, but I am now even more confused about motives, and, like Jim, why Soros still exists.
Tom Luongo’s comment about the Kerch Strait bridge didn’t age well… a day after the release of Episode 364, it got bombed..
I’m still puzzled as to why Mr Kunstler is interviewing a former research chemist about geopolitics, rather than a person who has more a specific background in the topics discussed.
He comes across as having some fairly extreme, fringe, views, and I don’t find him terribly credible.
It’s noteworthy that there is no comment offered by the usual intelligentsia nor discussion therewith.
I have to agree w/ Canuckster. Tom Luongo is, quite frankly, weird. At least Jimbo should be thanked for even taking him on and keeping him halfway on topic. WAY too much “inside baseball” here. And I have to wonder if social media has anything to do with it…nah, it’s just the “new normal”, right Amerika?
Yeah I can’t make heads nor tails out of all this; my head spins. I should have went to an Ivy League College instead of State U — but the Ivy league wouldn’t have me. Truth be told I’m not Ivy League material.
Re Ghostbusters, I feel like Kunstler was playing the part of the mayor to Luongo’s Bill Murray:
Or you could accept the fact that this city is headed for a disaster of Biblical proportions.
What do you mean, ‘Biblical proportions’?
What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Mayor. Real wrath of God type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes! Volcanoes!
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together! Mass hysteria!
And you know, in the end, Murray’s character was right.
Listening to this interview I felt like a fly on the wall to two guys with a bottle of Wild Turkey bourbon and a bucket of chicken wings yakking about their favourite conspiracy theories.
I can pay them no higher compliment. Great interview.
Yeah, those types of interviews are always the best. “In wine, truth.” Goes double for Wild Turkey.
Now my brain hurts.
The Russians are more than capable of sending armored vehicles by heavy helicopter. And as far as the train “gauges” go… what did the old Soviets plan to do when they were all the way up to the Elbe river? Pontoon bridges and amphibious craft work.
Many people are still under the assumption that the Russian Federation is the Soviet Union, it isn’t. Last year the GDP of Texas was 400 million dollars more than the 1.3 trillion of Russia’s. add to this the complete and total theft of everything of value there by a hoard of gangsters and prostitutes. for 22 years. it does not surprise me in the least that their military is so decrepit and inept. what does fascinate me is that Putin has not been shot or hung in red square. my money would be on the firing squad like Ceau?escu. this will happen as soon as the people around him realize he can provide them nothing else.
“what does fascinate me is that Putin has not been shot or hung in red square. my money would be on the firing squad like Ceau?escu. this will happen as soon as the people around him realize he can provide them nothing else.”
Putin is the sanest and the most moderate of the bunch. He has repeatedly tried to work with the West but the United States has squashed that idea because they need war. They need war because the can is at the end of the road and the system has been accelerated to collapse by the WEF Globalists.
If you take out Putin as you hope or suggest, what will appear will be Russia’s version of Victoria Nuland, Bill Kristol, John Bolton, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the crazed American Neocons and Warhawks.
Yes Russia has their own and they hate the West and especially the United States. They want nothing more than to destroy America and return Russia back to its glory days. That is their goal.
Putin OTOH has held them back from appearing. He is the Godfather of the Russian Warhawks and Neocons. He is to Russia what Saddam Hussein was to the Shiites and Sunni’s. He kept the crazed fringes of society at bay. When the US removed Hussein you got ISIS.
Take Putin out and you will get the same results except much worse because they have access to nuclear weapons.
Really? Regardless of the Lone Star state’s GDP being more than Russia’s, let’s wait and see what GDP Germany has after getting shot in the ass by the USA. I’d rather be in Texas or Russia rather than in any country in Europe right now!
Great work James, well done!
Recall the email exchange you and I had shortly before we met at the NYC Republican Club where you spoke this past July. I mentioned the New York Emergency Management website which had posted an advisory video informing New Yorkers what to do in the event of a nuclear attack on the city. Your reply to the ad was “more mindfuckery”, which was accurate. My thoughts were that just as Dirty Dick Cheney, Little Georgie Bush, and Donald Rumsfeld published through their think tank, PNAC, that an event similar to a “New Pearl Harbor” would be required to advance their grandiose plan to revamp the American military, maybe, just maybe, this was more of the same.
What was Barry Obama’s greatest fear? Why a nuclear blast on the island of Manhattan! They always telegraph their moves Jim. It is how the truly arrogant get their jollies and somehow find justification in their evil moves, because after all, they said they were going to do it and you did not complain. Acceptance by silence, what a concept.
