Is the USA about to be cancelled? The nation’s irresolvable affairs festered in an ominous globe of silence through the weekend as the Potemkin inauguration of Joe Biden loomed just days ahead. With actual news scant, rumor frizzled through America’s neural network like political neuralgia, prompting little gleeps of pain in both the Red and Blue camps. Were those thirty-something-thousand troops in Washington DC posted to fend off an attack of white supremacists? What was that strange military aircraft traffic from Rome, Italy, to Oklahoma City about? How come Veep Mike Pence went to Fort Drum, home of the army’s fabled 10th Mountain Division, in wintry upstate New York?

The hypothetical Biden Administration is shaping up to be something like a four-year-long séance, a conjuring of apparitions wailing out talking points in a darkened room. The actual location of the inaugural event remains a mystery, or even if it will be an event, maybe just a pre-recorded video concoction of Mr. Biden’s greatest hits of 2020. Check and see if he’s wearing the same necktie from beginning to end. If a hologram is inaugurated, does that make the land-mass between Montauk and Santa Barbara a post-structural figment?  The “president-elect,” made an ectoplasmic appearance Sunday talking up “science,” the Democrat’s mental life-preserver, and then shuffled offstage in an apparent fog of confusion as the Ritalin wore off. He’ll be great in the war room, I’m sure.

The mystery surrounding DNI John Ratcliffe’s long overdue report on foreign interference in the election cleared up only a little with the release of a letter sent January 8th to the Senate Intelligence Committee. In it, citing a side report from Intel Community Ombudsman Barry Zulauf, Mr. Ratcliffe refers to “undue pressure being brought to bear” on analysts by CIA management to craft their conclusions according to political loyalties. In other words, once again the CIA appears to be playing games with the American people and can’t be trusted. Isn’t that reassuring?

Meanwhile, The New York Times, CNN, and MSNBC have turned into a nonstop gloat-fest anticipating the punishments to be dished out by progressive Wokesterdom against anyone who ever entertained a thought about or uttered the phrase “stolen election.” They can kiss their livelihoods goodbye. Their college degrees will be revoked by such bastions of free thinking as Harvard. Their websites will be liquidated. Senators and congresspersons must be thrown out of their seats. They’ll be reduced to squatting on filthy blankets at the entrance of the Walmart begging for spare change, or hauled off to re-education camps where NPR lawyers with riding crops preside over their therapeutic struggle sessions, beating the wrongthink out of their hides. For Democrats, vengeance is a dish to be served piping hot. Would you like flies with your shit sandwich?

First up, the Dems promise, will be an executive order granting amnesty to an estimated 11-million illegal immigrants, along with Democratic Party registration cards, to buffer up the voter rolls for elections yet-to-come forever more, with a caravan of additional thousands from Honduras conveniently heading north to the US border just as the Biden “team” has announced they intend to ease the rules for claiming asylum. That will surely be welcome news to the millions of Americans whose jobs, livelihoods, and businesses have been destroyed by Covid-19 lockdowns.

And what of the fellow who remains president for hours now measured in mere double-digits? That’d be Mr. Trump. Is he simply moping around the Oval Office on a heap of My Pillows as the end nears, awaiting the punishments promised by every George Soros-backed DA in the land and their Lawfare allies inside the Beltway? That would be unlike the man. You could sure make the case that whoever is president after Wednesday noon is likely to drown under a world-beating tsunami of financial and economic woes. Why not just pass that old baton to holographic Joe? Let him flail and flounder in the foamy slop of radical discontinuity.

Well, for one reason, it would be less than patriotic to leave one’s country to a hologram, essentially leaderless, and in thrall to sinister forces with other than the national interest in mind, that is, the citizens’ interests. And yet, to do your duty while breaking the long chain of peaceable transitions from one party of good faith to another is an awesome and fateful step into the unknown. But, if the election itself was a kind of coup, if once good faith has become bad faith, well, that sort of changes everything. How this melodrama turns depends on the information at hand. Does the president have it or not? Something is going to drop in the hours ahead. Will it be consequential? Will it correct anything that’s gone wrong? Or will it just drive the country closer to civil war?

      Biden will be president for the next four years unless his cognitive impairment becomes noticeably worse. Beyond that, who knows? The land and the people on it will continue; it’s called ‘life’. There will be continued organized government, even though it’s power structure might change. We, each, have decisions to make, as usual.

        We are either inaugurating the first dictator, or about to see the culmination of years of strategy against globalism, China, and its puppets. Given Trump’s ability to fend off the worst the Beast could dish out, I have to assume the latter.

          I understand that National guard troops in washington, now at a level 2.5 times more than previous inaugurations, are being vetted for ties to extremist groups.

            That is what I have been wondering about. Are the rank and file soldiers on board with this election scam or does anyone in the lower ranks of the military have any scruples left. The upper brass seem to be totally corrupt. The military establishment is quite good at brainwashing the recruits to follow orders without any thought to the honorable, legal, decent thing to do. Surely some in the ranks disagree with the despicable actions they are participating in. Let us hope that some of the troops and commanders have some sense of right and wrong left in themselves.

          From what I’m hearing, people like Sydney Powell can’t even get into see the President at this point. From all appearances (add slight italics), including throwing the Capitol Stormers under the bus, he’s trying to save his own skin at this point.

          Third option via Alex Jones: It is a real military coup in the offing. But Jones isn’t reassured: Who is more “woke” than the upper brass of the military at this point?

          The Communists staged a gigantic psy-op during the Russian Revolution called “Project Trust” about how patriotic generals were about to come in with massive force to overturn the Revolution.

          There was resistance in remote areas by the so called “Whites”. Defeated, they later joined the Allies (who were allied with the Communists) and after the war were turned over to Stalin or torture and execution.

        To be fair, apparently he did want to but the military said don’t ask because the answer will be No.

        Given the nature of our judiciary, he would have gotten nowhere. The Beast has conquered and now they emerge into the Light of Day in all their hideous glory, lusting for the Blood of the Saints.

        He did make some changes in the top Brass, but it doesn’t look like that was enough. The Joint Chiefs wrote a letter warning their brethren not to try anything and that the next President will be Biden.

        I’m sure he was told that “we don’t prosecute political enemies in this country. It goes against freedom of speech, and would make us a banana republic.” (And, it might affect VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE.) So what happens? Social media and their allies in government and the so-called journalism community blacklist anybody to the right of Mao, and Lawfare Inc threatens action against anybody named Trump and anyone who ever worked for them. He’ll, some kid lost his job with an airline because the NHL complained he’d interned at the White House sometime in the last four years! But, it’s those fucking Republicans who carry grudges and destroy the lives of innocent people!

        Again, I get the feeling Revelation 17 & 18 are about to be fulfilled in this country. Especially Rev. 18:23 (part) and 24:

    Several months ago a friend had a dream in which he was walking along a bridge over a chasm with President Trump. Suddenly, without warning yet apparently at ease, the President hoisted himself up and jumped into the chasm.

    Strange, but dreams from God are mysterious until fulfillment and revelation.

    Then, after the election, when it became apparent President Trump was never going to concede and would vigorously pursue justice in the matters of election fraud and the ongoing insurrection, I told my friend – that’s it – the President has jumped into the void – the unknown.

    An acquaintance has forwarded to me a few videos consisting of various individuals who have “connections” and make claims that Trump will remain as president.

    The most recent scenario claims that he will be inaugurated March 4, after a period of military control.

    Another claims that the fence in DC was installed backwards, meant to keep people in, not to keep people out. In other words, it’s meant to entrap a horde of “traitors” who will then be shipped to Gitmo for prosecution and possibly execution.

    Another claims that the CIA has several psyop agents who have issued videos pretending to support Trump, in an effort to raise false hopes among his supporters.

    Facebook killed a group that had recently blossomed with large numbers of Trump supporters. The Patriot Party – disappeared.

    With just a little more than 48 hours until the dreaded hour of noon on January 20, I am just waiting waiting waiting for something to happen.

    Sigh.

            Italy and Portugal will welcome people receiving a “pension” from another country. They’re trying to attract people with money who won’t become a burden. Interestingly, you can signup for their healthcare systems when there, and from what I’ve seen, if you make enough money, it’s actually cheaper than Medicare.

            In Italy, if you move south of Rome there’s no more than 7% taxation on your pension. Worth considering: the Italians have been collapsing for thousands of years and are good at it. Us, not so much.

        Sometime in the next four years there will be a ‘riot’ in the bond markets, as debt revulsion takes hold and forces up interest rates to something that resembles normal. It could actually happen at any time now, but will probably be prolonged by the new ‘stimulus’ that’s soon to flood the economy. When that wears off, the Fed will take over with more massive buying of assets, but that funny business is going to run out of steam when the smart boys realize that it’s not working anymore. I don’t know who will take the political blame for this devastating situation; in the 1930’s the Republicans were successfully blamed and did not see national power for another twenty years.

        No, not taken in, Mary. The point is that the spending on Social Security/Medicare is the only thing in the budget larger than the “defense” budget. There will be about $540bln in annual interest, and it’s been growing.

        At some point we continue to pay for either defense or SS. I had long assumed that defense would be cut to save SS. I now think the opposite: SS will be cut because it’s going to a population that looks like the USA 65 years ago: 90% white. Who better to spend money on: connected people in DC who can pay for K-street lobbyists, or a bunch of old, feeble whites who benefited from “systemic racism?”

    Which book are we going to get in the short term? Will it be 1984, Brave new world, Farenheit 451, Starship Troopers or A Clockwork Orange?

    Strangely enough, I suspect it will be Atlas Shrugged for the win. Yes, Atlas Shrugged is the dark horse of dystopian futures and, in my opinion, it has won that contest for the short term and won it hands down.

    All the things planned by the traitors require a functioning infrastructure and economy and the last time I bothered to check, both of those were on their last legs. After all, every single corporation headquartered in the USA is quietly putting plans together to “deal” with the doubling of taxes and since wealth doesn’t recognize borders, it looks like we’ll see everyone but the tech companies flee at their soonest convenience.

    It wont stop there. You may hate big oil but our entire transportation network runs on it. Attacking fosile fuels is like your right arm attacking your left arm. You look stupid while doing it and eventually you do not have working arms. After all, how are we supposed to build all those wind farms, solar panels and Teslas without oil? Anyone?

    In Atlas Shrugged, the looters are proponents of high taxation, big labor, government ownership, government spending, government planning, regulation, and redistribution. Sound familiar? It does to me and I am of the opinion that the end will be the same – total infrastructure collapse and the breakup of the United States.

          Peak oil happened back in 2005 or 2006. We have pumped more oil since then, but the EROEI had dropped enough that we did not get a net yield of energy to the economy.

          We have dropped over 17% from the fracking peak last February, so now we won’t even have the expensive fracked light sweet crude to burn. And there will be no more money to frack more of it.

          When viewed in terms of long-term available fossil energy drops, you recognize what the last year was: an emergency implementation of enforced fossil-fuel decreased usage. It caused oil to go negative in April, briefly. Now, however, the price is rising, and will continue to do so: the USA cannot pump enough oil to drive down the global price. It never will do so again.

Calm weather is not conducive to the running of windmills. I know. My city bought one some years back, and I’ve never actually seen it turning. Perhaps they only bought it for backup, so they can adequately suppress us when the time comes. The cop shop in the next town has a huge array of solar panels. Just wait until rocks are thrown at it. All those Teslas have to be plugged in to the electric grid, run primarily on that black filth, so they actually still run on gas, only one step removed from the source, and probably more expensively, just so you can feel superior. Once rolling blackouts set in, you might have trouble powering it up at all. You’ll be riding shanks mare, just like the rest of us.

      I watched a you tube on the teachings of Aldous Huxley and George Orwell last night. Their descriptions of what is going to lead us to a totalitarian state has been used by the Dems as their platform for quite awhile.

      No wait, not just the Dems. The RINOs are even worse as they have betrayed not only the US Patriots, but their own philosophy.

      The Deep State now runs the country, elections no longer matter. So many Dems are going to be created over the next four years that conservative voices will just disappear.

      Unless somebody does something right now. I hope we have not heard the last of Trump yet. What he does right now is more important than anything while he was President.

      The man should have praised the Patriots storming the Capitol, showing what a bunch of lily livered cowards those legislators are, cowering in the basement instead of facing those “rioters”. But they are typical of the Deep State who no longer feel a connection with the public they represent.

      A bunch of “kids” storming the Capitol building, running around, finding nothing really to do, and then leaving, what a major event to set the policies of the next few years. Breeding fear, the Dem trademark.

        Yep, nothing controls and cripples thought so well as these kinds of false dichotomies–Capitalism “versus” Communism etc. etc.

        Communism pretends to be the “truth” (even, amusingly, as it denies all truth), yet without capitalism to feed on—without capitalist production and above all capitalist *assumptions* to strawman—it disintegrates. It has no motive, no form of its own.

        The metaphysical Core of our problem, one might say, *expresses* itself in capitalism, and communism in turn expresses this Core by being an extension of capitalism. Yet the Core is deeper and more extensive than either of these.

        An attack on capitalism will therefore be more effective than an attack on communism, since the latter flows from the former. Yet really one must attack both simultaneously. Further, both attacks will fail if the Core is not identified, exhumed and destroyed.

        Baudrillard actually has interesting things to say on this. Sadly and predictably his conclusion is essentially that Marx just wasn’t “truly left enough”. (Reading postmodernist “thought”: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.)

      Nickelthrower, I’ve read most of the dystopian classics you mention. All portray things and aspects that now exist and may get bigger. May I suggest another dark & visionary work that explains reality as is / is becoming in 2021?

      The “MaddAddam” trilogy, by Canadian Margaret Atwood (better known for her shorter, duller dystopian novel, “The Handmaid’s Tale”).

      It’s all there, all the things we have the know-how to do today and seem to be aching to do. She said the novels are not sci-fi because she’s not inventing any new technology, only using what we’ve now got.

      Bio engineering on a massive scale (Green Alba is a genetically modified rabbit engineered in a lab to glow green, á la Dolly the sheep; there’s knowledge today to try much harder stuff, and surely it is being tried in places we can’t look into; Atwood imagines the likely following stages of that technology, from custom babies ordered by wealthy couples from live “floor models” to a planned pandemic to wipe out most of the population outside corporate enclaves, to ultimately creating the race that will replace us).

      French novelist (& close to genius, IMO), Michel Houellebecq is also fascinated by how genetic engineering is insinuating itself more and more assertively into reality, the ontological reality of the things that “are” and “exist”. “Being” and “becoming” are close relatives, or maybe the same. Both authors explore the eerie panorama of that particular Pandora’s box, but the similarities stop there.

      There’s much more in Atwood: the growing gap between the gated compounds and the pleeblands; a terminally sick society, glued to screens, addicted to live death and torture, thinking nothing of getting new organs to prolong youth a few decades from live “donors”; the also very sick environment, sucked dry by the $ created to keep the whole, well, dystopia, going another year; the corporate surveillance fascism, the privatized security, the emergence of a persecuted sect – God’s Gardeners – that rejects $ and technology and embrace voluntary poverty and resistance to the system.

      Maybe a Gates or a Zucker are not quite good (bad) enough yet for what’s in Atwood’s trilogy, but I’m sure a Crake exists already, maybe he’s a brilliant student at MIT or the Sorbonne and he will be the one to attempt to play God, like the author’s character in the book.

      Those books. We hope we won’t see the worst of it, or our children. Hope was the only thing that remained in Pandora’s box. I could never understand that bit of mythology trivia. Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Was not released into the world, so we can’t have it? But we do! I think the Greeks thought of hope as a bad thing, a thing that conspires against one’s clear eyed understanding of his real – hopeless – situation. It’s easier to live and die if you don’t hope for anything, right?

        I’ll need some convincing that a techno-dystopian future awaits us though. Such things require banalities such as a stable medium of exchange, a functioning grid, worldwide trade and a fortified infrastructure. Those in power have zero understanding of how anything actually works. How can such fools shepard us into the future? How will they manage to keep the lights on??

Where I live, FL, they advertise “vaginal rejuvenation surgery” and the old wealthy crones of Naples and Miami flock for it – I don’t have a doubt that they’ll take whatever “rejuvenation”, ethical or not, at whatever price, until they are under a bridge – but everybody will be under a bridge way before them, so they can harvest whatever organs and pay whatever scientists to keep working on their idea of paradise on Earth: endless $ & a brand new cunny.

Further, I see no cohesive formations, military or otherwise, with anywhere near the power needed to *immediately* and *directly* oppose a runaway leftist terror-State–short of secession, which so far lacks support and would fail in 1865 fashion if not handled absolutely perfectly. There is grassroots stuff developing rapidly, but it will be crushed if it ventures any open conflict.

          So infiltration it is, then. The world is changing; leftism and “progress” are revealed increasingly as profoundly dysfunctional and *ugly* ideas that can only exist if propped up by force. This means, despite all present appearances, that those ideas are on the *defensive* with regard to the *long* game. But do you (we) have the patience and discipline and intellectual grit to wait another 60 years for our own “march through the institutions” to bear fruit?

        Science is just a bunch of theories. The debate on this blog about the Covid is a perfect example. Science does not present us with facts, just opinions. Proof of the attributes with consequences should be presented about the virus, heck all viruses. As a solution for societal issues, science sucks. So politics takes over and politics just divides people.

        Science is no answer to anything as Ol’ Joe is going to find out real fast. His initial proposals for Covid are useless. And he is going to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to accomplish lining PTB pockets and will do nothing to stop the surges.

        Watch the reaction to climate change over the next few years. Biden is rejoining the Paris accord, the biggest rip off of the US and Europe in history. The Paris accord has continued without The US and nothing has changed in four years. This is just another Dem fueled globalist rip off of the USA. Climate change, the real solutions will never be incorporated as the disruption to human lifestyles is too drastic. And BTW, the GND will be incorporated into the politics of the next thirty years, not because of threats, but because of Peak Oil.

          I totally agree with you there, JohnAZ. Nothing more than tweaking around the edges will ever be done. No-one would dare be honest with people about what would actually be required to stop climate change getting any more serious (and remember that about 30 more years of ‘more serious’ is already baked in because of the time lag between the addition of CO2 to the atmosphere and the manifestation of its effects in the climate).

          That doesn’t make the science wrong, however.

          But the disruptions to human lifestyles are going to happen anyway, eventually. So both sides are wasting their time arguing.

            Er no. What I have argued against is (a) the refusal to accept the overwhelming evidence of the science and (b) the related belief that the science is all a scam created specifically to facilitate the coming of the New World Order and suchlike.

            My belief is that we could have made things easier for ourselves if we hadn’t had to waste 40 or 50 years arguing with deniers. Likewise, we could also have spent our dwindling resources preparing for energy penury and developing simpler, resilient systems, were it not for the fact that most people would be so freaked out by the truth about resources that it would probably create financial and societal mayhem.

            My position on climate change hasn’t changed – nor has your habit of deliberately misreading my posts.

          The crux of it is complexity—that is the shoal on which the ship of science has lately run aground. Where there are simple, clear laws—gravity, electricity, some of medicine, even the genetic code—science is and will remain powerful.

          But where there is complexity, Science amounts to little more than prestigious, pompous word-fog.

          So: that CO2 can trap heat is fairly simple science. But how the global climate-system responds to it is very, very complex.

          I’m afraid the politicization of science has turned your brain into mush. Politics is the art of getting people to believe whatever you are selling without reference to fact or reality. It’s goal is to put money and power into the pockets of you and your handlers.

          Science is the best system humans have invented for arriving at truth. Your “just a bunch of theories” are called theorems or propositions. If they are to contribute to the advancement of science they must be formulated in such a manner that they can be tested and proven valid or false. Once a theorem is presented to the public of fellow scientists they immediately try to tear it down— that is the way the scientific method works. If the critics fail to disprove the theorem it is provisionally accepted as true until another theorem that better explains the underlying conditions emerges.

          Scientific truths are always provisional, although they become more and more likely as they fend off challengers. It’s quite difficult to not believe that the earth is round once you fail to sail off the edge.

          Science, being an activity carried out by humans, doesn’t always operate as a rational and ideal manner. Indeed, any study of the history of science will show that the practitioners engage in all the manipulations and power struggles that our species has become so adept at. That doesn’t mean that any amount of power politics can change the underlying reality.
          When all the summer ice melts in the Arctic ocean, it doesn’t matter how much you believe in climate change denial, it’s still water under the keel of your boat and collapsing permafrost on land. Or if you believe that using leeches to draw blood will cure your child’s polio the child will still die a twisted and horrible death.

            I’m not anti-national healthcare. I think it’s extremely civilised and humane. My husband (who’s not British – the Irish don’t have an NHS) used to call the NHS one of the wonders of the modern world (although he sees all the disadvantages of actually working in it these days).

            I just don’t think people should refer to it as ‘free’ without qualification, because it isn’t.

            As you know, people don’t always appreciate ‘free’ stuff. They take the piss. Older people tend not to – younger people quite often do. They get very entitled.

            Free (at the point of use) systems rely on people being responsible. Some people never will be. There’s a patient on the list of the unit where my husband works (it’s an out-of-hours GP service, so you wouldn’t expect the same people to turn up all the time, in a reasonable world, but they do).

            The system shows the number of visits (at the hospital or at home) until it hits 999, then it stops counting. One patient, with a personality disorder (they are legion) has exceeded the count. Given that you (the taxpayer) are paying for either a doctor + car + driver (for security and time) to go to someone’s house, or, should they demand it (and they do), a taxi to bring them to the hospital, those 999 + consultations – most of which will be a waste of the doctor’s time – are only free to her.

            My husband’s view is that such people should be told to f*** off. But that’s not going to happen until they start being charged for taking the piss.

            I was burgled once when I was in London for work (and lived on my own). Best if it happens when you’re not there. I wasn’t remotely traumatised, but it was a nuisance having to wait up till 2.30am for the overstretched police (who couldn’t do anything anyway) and making a list of ancient bits and pieces and their prices for the insurance company. I don’t recall ever thinking I wish I had a gun. And I can be pretty sure that any junkie who breaks into my flat to pay for his next fix or three isn’t going to have a gun either, which is reassuring.

            You’re right about the NHS being a mixed blessing and not free either. That VAT @ 18%? Add that to your tax bill! Theodore Dalrypmle wrote a book, Life at the Bottom, about the effects of socialism on England and a critical examination of the NHS (he’s a psychiatrist who worked with inmates and in the East End of London). There’s no perfect solution, that’s for certain, but the rampant costs here plus the effects of a bad diet since birth are taking their toll already.

            Thank you, SW, I know about the book although I haven’t read it.

            I have read The Citadel (A.J. Cronin), which, although a work of fiction, was based on the author’s experience (as a doctor) of pre-NHS healthcare in the UK. It has been credited with leading to a massive push for national healthcare. It’s worth a read too.

            Remember that huge numbers of ordinary men who went to join up to fight in WW1 were found to be unfit for service, because of under-nourishment and poor health. That was nothing whatever to do with socialism.

            You are right that there is no perfect solution, but I’ll take the humanity (and the economics) of the NHS over the American system any day. I’ve had excellent value for my 18% VAT (income tax has plummeted since I started work and VAT isn’t applied to necessities like food).

            The NHS was a year old when my parents married, so it saw them through the rest of their lives and has seen me through most of mine, for which I can never thank it enough, especially since my illness of 18 months ago. I doubt it will be there to see me right to the end, unless the lurgi gets me sooner than I’d like, but you never know.

            I wasn’t disagreeing with you about the NHS at all. My daughter married a young Brit and they now have two children. At one point their oldest had a serious infection and he received excellent care. If not for the NHS the medical bills would have broken them. I’ve been an advocate for universal health care in America all my life and the point I was trying to make is that it’s becoming more and more elusive in the US.

            Overall poor health is now common here. Young men who apply to join the armed forces are turned down b/c they can’t meet the physical requirements, are functionally illiterate or have a criminal record.

            I’ll read The Citadel and thank you for the recommendation.

            Well, that was one of the most productive exchanges I’ve experience on here, because before I read your post just now, I ordered Life at the bottom! As Dalrymple’s books are bizarrely cheap, I also ordered another, plus a couple of free samples.

            I’m aware of where he’s coming from ideologically.

            The health issue is just one part of a wider problem, which has been with us for centuries. The price of demanding complete personal responsibility is watching decent people (and, more specifically, their completely innocent children) go under.

            I wouldn’t want to see a return to debtors’ prisons and Victorian workhouses either, and people being viewed as morally lacking because of economic failure. My own husband, before I married him, experienced a business bankruptcy (in his 50s) and lost everything but the shirt on his back, including his pension savings, so I’m aware that things don’t always work out, no matter how hard you work.

    This won’t be like the old Civil War. That was before electricity and people were more self-reliant. They had farmland, wood ovens (with plenty of wood), and water wells on property. Today, anti-establishment people who have very little leverage to fight back. Getting cut from the internet will be the first strike. Strikes two and three will be cutting the electric and water supplies, just like Gavin Newsom did to those who refused to follow the lockdown orders.

    Remember Biden’s reply back in 2019 to the guy who criticized him about gun rights. He said: “Hey man, what good is an AR-15 against an F-15 fighter with Hellfire missiles?”

    Jenna Ryan’s comments show how much this president has brainwashed so many people. She says she was just following Trump’s orders, in marching on the Capitol. She’d like a pardon but says it wouldn’t alter her support of Trump, if he doesn’t grant her one. So, he said he’s be there with his supporters, marching on the Capitol, but left after his inciting speech, he belatedly tried to disown the “mob”, in a couple of videos, and he might not grant pardons to all those who followed his orders. But, still, Jenna supports him. Trump got it right when he said he could shoot someone in the street and still be just as popular.

        Yes, he mentioned peacefully, once, but, like most of Trump’s words, they don’t make clear grammatical sense. Much of what he said in regard to going to the Capitol and having to fight was clearly aimed at getting the crowd angry, especially as he came up with lots of made up stuff about the fraudulent election, designed to make the crowd feel the election was stolen, making them angrier.

            No. In context, he only used the word “peacefully” and words derived from “peace”) once. The whole tenor of his speech was to rile the crowd up. You must have read reports of some of those arrested saying they were just doing what Trump ordered. Mitch McConnell (I know, you hate him now despite almost 4 years of doing Trump’s bidding) has said that Trump, and others, provoked the attack.

            Grammatical errors? Well, the sentence you referred to is grammatically incorrect: “I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.” I’ll leave that as an exercise for you. There are plenty of other examples but I’ll leave that as an exercise for you, too.

How are you going to wage a civil war when it’s so easy for the Democrats to cut your supply lines in such an interconnected and centralized economic system? The ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL requisite for waging a civil war is a high level of self-sufficiency such as existed in the 1800’s. This no longer exists in an era where the far left controls ALL the commanding heights of the economy and of the government.

    Let’s face it: the US is fucked. F*U*C*K*E*D! Born in carrying capacity surplus and high ideals, died in 2020 from cynicism, bad faith, mis-governance and gross carrying capacity deficit. It was never going to last. It was always going to end. I didn’t expect this kind of ending, with a woke insurrection fueled by lies and hallucinations. But this is what you get when you don’t fight the long and corrosive process of cultural and ideological subversion by Marxism/Leninism. The end will be a LOT more painful than it needs to be.

      This is a well-reasoned and sound estimation of the chance for overthrowing the central power in today’s America. But centralized power will inevitably fall apart after the grinding long-term collapse which has become inevitable.

      There will come a point at which local warlords can more effectively control a small territory than any distant, centralized state. In that world conditions will vary widely, from utter destitution to perhaps some degree of stability and comfort.

      To be sure, most of us will be much worse off, post-collapse but, if it happens soon enough, the rest of the world will be much the better for it.

    Cbeard @1331: Try not to comment on a subject you obviously no NOTHING about. My team, squad, platoon ALL required a basic reason as to why, exactly, we were going to effect a course of action. Not that they were questioning me, just they had a need to process the line of reasoning internally. And insure it was legal and they could live with it.
    All military recruits across ALL services are taught the major articles of the laws we live by (code of conduct), most notably the DUTY to disobey any unlawful order, regardless of what rank the person who issued said order is. We swear an oath to the constitution, not any political position I.e. President. And exactly how do you “think” they’re brainwashed? To kill (murder) without remorse? Burn villages? Rape women? Pray tell.

    In 1945, before even most of your parents were born, the American military, along with those of the British, French, and Russian forces, put on trial the senior officers of the German military, for their role in following the tyrannical and despotic regime of Adolf Hitler, even into genocidal mania.

    In every case, those commanders pled to that tribunal that they had no idea what all was being carried out by the Nazi high command, and that they were military soldiers, doing their jobs, and “just following orders”.

    To a man, that defense was thrown out as completely insufficient, and wholly inexcusable, and as a result, they were given harsh prison terms, and some were executed by hanging, for crimes against humanity. Because they did, indeed, “just follow orders”.

    The execrable letter above, from your duly appointed commanders, is nothing more nor less than them telling you to “just follow orders”.

    The best face to put on it is that it constitutes nothing less than deliberate and damnable treason, by those very officers entrusted with the leadership of you all, and protecting the safety of the nation.

    The generals and admirals you all swore oaths to obey (I swore the identical oath, like you, and it had no expiration date) have abdicated their leadership role above you, and have, with lies of omission, committed you to the same path as the German generals and admirals did to their troops in 1933. Rest assured, both they and the nation will bear the cost of their leadership failure, here and hereafter.

    There are serious questions and challenges about the presidential election of 2020. Criminal flaws and unconstitutional breaches of law led to massive irregularites, and make that entire election’s alleged result entirely suspect, and the declared winner completely fraudulent.

    You know about fraudulent enlistments. Some of you witnessed people in your basic training units or first duty stations suddenly whisked away, because it was determined by proper investigations that they had enlisted to serve fraudulently. That’s how it works in the military, and how it’s supposed to work in the nation at large. But the nation has been failed by those who should have known better. States certified elections, for partisan reasons, which even a blind man could see were falsified. Courts refused to so much as examine a single piece of evidence that would have proved such was so, beyond any reasonable doubt. The Congress followed suit and ratified those fraudulent certifications, and all levels of government intend to see to swearing in a commander in chief over you who has no more right to the office than does a banana.

    We are not a banana republic. But your leadership wishes to behave as though we were.

    Your leadership was therefore placed in the unenviable position of having to decide whether to exercise the judgement entrusted to their leadership positions. To a man, they have chosen to abdicate that trust, and command you to follow them down that dark road of feigning no knowledge of the realities above. Just follow orders.

    Almost every one of you knows the Leadership Traits. Many of you, by heart, and you live and embody them every day, upon which the safety of the nation depends.

    Your commanders have failed to show Integrity, failed to exercise Intelligence, completely abandoned Courage, used criminally poor Judgement, completely abandoned Justice, and acted entirely out of Selfishness, in ordering you, in no certain terms, to jump off the cliff with them and for them, lest they risk their own positions of confidence and trust. They have sold you and your loyalty down the river to protect nothing but their own pensions and positions of authority.

    If they had possessed the slightest inkling of duty or honor to their country, they would have resigned and turned in their stars, rather than order you all to do what they should not and could not do. They are faithless and worthless for failing to do so.

    They have, by these breaches, made an unsound and untimely decision, set a horribly bad example to their troops, utterly misinformed you, and have abandoned any pretense of looking out for your welfare, or that of the nation they are charged to serve. Those are leadership failures of the worst kind.

    America has many enemies. As always, most of them are foreign, and we beg you and pray you to continue to serve us all, to protect this great nation from them. But now we also have domestic enemies. Your chain of command has chosen to ally with them, and certify the presidency of a banana.

    In terms you cannot misunderstand,

    That is an unlawful order. It carries no weight, commands no obedience, and following it will not protect you from any consequences, nor the wrath of a justifiably enraged public.

    Rest assured, there is ALWAYS a Day Of Reckoning for nations who follow the path you’ve been ordered to take. The consequences will be dire and eternal.

    Disobedience to your chain of command, justified or not, is a fearful thing, whether one is a private or a general officer. Anyone who does so will face harsh discipline, by a system with swift and draconian punishments for those it deems guilty.

    And yet, your leaders, by abandoning their duty in this matter, have now forced every man and woman under their command to have to weigh and consider every order they are given, from here on out, and decide which orders are lawful, in furtherance of the oaths you and they took, and which ones may be or are unlawful, and command you to undertake things as horribly wrong and vile as anything perpetrated by soldiers serving the Nazi regime.

    Your command, by failing to acknowledge reality, has lied to you, and is trying to lie you into obedience to an entirely unlawful and illegitimate command, and left you in the difficult position of deciding when and whether to obey, and when and whether to disobey, any further orders.

    You alone will bear the consequences of your moral choices. And any immoral choices, should you make them.

    I thank Fate and a merciful God that in two separate terms of enlistment, I never served under such circumstances, but I pray for you the wisdom to know your duty, with every order you are given.       There is something there. Kim loved his work and got his later writings too I believe – recently published.

      Coming at it from a completely different angle – that of leisure or Homo Ludens, Man the Player: Technological society will justify itself when it attains the amount of leisure that the hunter gatherers had. Instead of freeing man, many are working more and more just to survive. And having to compete for limited jobs with new batches of desperate 3rd Worlders is seen as the epitome of virtue by “conservatives”.

      At its best, technology offers man security, but at the price of autonomy as Uncle Ted says. Can he have both? Not easily, but isn’t it a goal worth working towards somehow?

        The Bushmen of the Kalahari, pushed into the desert by the incoming Negroes, worked some 16 hours per week. Similar numbers have been found in other areas for hunter gatherers. Maybe some places were more severe (deserts vary tremendously) and would need greater labor. And of course if things got bad, such people would starve. But that’s true for the harder working agriculturalists as well, at least up until recent times.

      Latest Pew Research poll shows Donald Trump at 29% (an historical low), and Joe Biden at 68% – pretty high for an incoming chief executive.

      The low crowds result from (a) a sensible approach to the pandemic, and (b) understandable security concerns following the MAGA storming of the US Capitol. I think it’s reasonable in the circumstances.
