The people of this land have enough trouble in mind — what with livelihoods, careers, businesses, marriages, hopes and dreams circling the drain in the new insta-depression — but let’s hope they have just a little attention left over for the whirlwind denouement of the odious RussiaGate affair, now finally shredding the last defenses of the Deep State’s rogue Intel forces after years of deceit, treachery, and juridical depravity. The beginning of the end is at hand in the malicious prosecution of General Michael Flynn, and, as that’s revealed for the criminal plot it was, all the other threads in this vast tapestry of sedition will unravel.

Why does that even matter anymore, you may wonder? Because so many of our current troubles are mostly due to the culture of pervasive dishonesty America retreated into to avoid the mandates and rigors of reality in the 21st century. It operated in every area of our national life from the racketeering in medicine and higher-ed, to the games we played with our national debt, to the stupendous grift of politics, the futile wars we prosecuted, the idiotic gender conflict and race hustling, and, most flamboyantly, to the lawlessness around the CIA, FBI, and Department of Justice during and after the 2016 election. This was the culture of Anything Goes and Nothing Matters. It has to be defeated if we expect to go on as a credible nation.

General Flynn had been an irritant to the Obama administration in his role as chief of the Defense Intelligence Agency. He disagreed with a lot going on around him and he said so, especially the nuclear deal that was percolating with Iran. Mr. Obama canned General Flynn in 2014. Afterward, CIA chief John Brennan and DNI James Clapper put him under surveillance and played entrapment games with him, using some of the same shady characters (Stefan Halper, Richard Dearlove) who later showed up as RussiaGate players.

In early 2016, Gen. Flynn joined the Trump campaign as a foreign affairs advisor and that summer made the mistake of leading the “Lock her up,” chant to a delirious crowd at the Republican Convention. Perhaps he knew a thing or two about the activities of the Clinton Foundation. Perhaps he also knew what Jeffrey Epstein was up to. Then Mr. Trump shocked the world and won the election. Gen. Flynn was soon appointed incoming National Security Advisor. One can imagine the anxiety crackling through a Democrat-controlled Deep State on the verge of surrendering power to its enemies. The alarm bells that went off through the vast US Intel underground must have been deafening.

In a panic, the Intel Community set in motion a suite of operations to get rid of both Flynn and Trump. On December 29, late in the transition-of-power, President Obama lit up a diplomatic flare by confiscating country retreat properties in Maryland and Long Island owned by the Russian embassy and expelling 35 embassy employees, supposedly as payback for Russia “interfering in the 2016 election.” This prompted a conversation between incoming National Security Advisor Flynn and Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. That cued the FBI to entrap General Flynn. The news media played along with the preposterous falsehood that high American officials should not communicate with diplomats posted to the USA. The shady gotcha interview about that with Flynn, conducted by FBI officers Peter Strzok and Joseph Pientka, has been dissected to death, so I’ll spare you that, except to say that it was carried out in obvious bad faith.

The court case over all that has dragged out for more than three years now, though anyone could see from the get-go that it was a malicious prosecution. (I said as much more than once in this blog years ago.) Presiding Judge Emmet Sullivan has overlooked flagrant misconduct by DOJ prosecutors, led by Brandon Van Grack. FBI Director Christopher Wray has concealed exculpatory evidence of FBI and DOJ misconduct that favored General Flynn for three years. General Flynn’s previous attorneys from the DC law firm of Covington and Burling — where Mr. Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder is a partner — represented Gen. Flynn poorly, and did so apparently on-purpose. In spite of all that, the case is unraveling thanks to the diligence of Gen. Flynn’s new attorney, Sidney Powell, who cuts through government bullshit like a samurai sword through tofu.

The case is now moving swiftly to a climax, perhaps due to William Barr appointing Missouri federal attorney Jeffrey Jensen to review the matter. Someone, perhaps new Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell, has pried bales of previously hidden documents from FBI Director Wray’s sweaty hands. They amount to clear evidence of a scheme to lawlessly railroad Gen. Flynn. If Judge Sullivan doesn’t dismiss the case in another two weeks, he will look like a fool and a scoundrel. He probably cares about his reputation. Any fair reading of this case would have this judge cite the DOJ lawyers for criminal contempt at a minimum.

The question arises: why has Attorney General Barr allowed this to go on and on? My guess is that he thinks the best course would be for Judge Sullivan to be forced by the weight of evidence to do his duty and move to dismiss the case against Gen. Flynn. After all, the objective is to restore the rule-of-law, and that includes getting the federal courts to operate honestly and fairly. If Mr. Barr took the extraordinary action of intervening, it would signify that the court could not be trusted, and that will not restore the rule-of-law. The same applies to a presidential pardon.

In the background looms federal attorney John Durham, who has been at work for year looking into the matrix of suspicious conduct around all aspects of the RussiaGate hoax, the greatest scandal in US history. Mr. Barr has been accused of allowing quite a few culpable DOJ higher-ups to remain in their jobs this whole time, including FBI Director Wray, despite the shade thrown on them by the drip-drip-drip revelations of their misdeeds. I think both Mr. Barr and Mr. Trump have resisted the temptation to intervene in order to 1) steer clear of malign RussiaGate collaborators in Congress and the news media, and 2) for reasons similar to the process involving Gen. Flynn — to reestablish the regular wheels of justice and faith in the system.

RussiaGate and all its subsidiary mischief amounted to a seditious conspiracy by several agencies of government against the chief executive. It was explicitly an effort to overthrow a president by illegitimate means. The conspiracy extended to members of congress, who are not privileged with immunity against felony crimes, by the way. The partial list of government officials, current or former, who may be subject to prosecution in these matters should include Barack Obama, Susan Rice, John Brennan, James Clapper, James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Rod Rosenstein, John Carlin, Mary McCord, Michael Atkinson, James Baker (DOJ), James Baker (DOD), Loretta Lynch, Sally Yates, Dana Boente, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Joseph Pientka, William Priestap, Bruce Ohr, Kevin Clinesmith, Robert Mueller, Andrew Weissmann, Aaron Zebley, Jeannie Rhee, David Laufman, Senator Mark Warner, Senator Richard Burr, James Wolfe, Rep. Adam Schiff, Eric Ciaramella, Col. Alexander Vindman. Players outside government include Glenn Simpson, Nellie Ohr, Christopher Steele, Stefan Halper, Sidney Blumenthal, Cody Shearer, David Kramer. The following media figures might be named as unindicted co-conspirators: Dean Baquet, Martin Baron, Jeff Zucker, Andrew Lack, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Chris Cuomo, Joe Scarborough, David Corn, David Ignatius, and Ari Melber.

Note: The New York Times has not covered this week’s developments in the General Michael Flynn case. So, there is no record of this epic injustice in the newspaper-of-record. Therefore, it is no longer the newspaper-of-record.

Why were the Americans funding the bat coronavirus research in the Wuhan lab? The American (NIH) funding means that Miss Shi Zhengli and other researchers in the Wuhan lab were reporting their research findings back to the Americans, right?

Do you remember in the movie “Alien” the Company’s Weapons division sent the Nostromo crew to the weird alien planet into the bat cave to collect the alien bat?

This 2017 paper discusses how the coronavirus uses the ACE2 receptor as the pathway into the human cells for replication. The scientific community knew….

    • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 10:32 am #

The ACE2 receptor is in many organs, plus the circulatory system. The virus is a killing machine. If the body gets invaded, the virus can spread everywhere. That is probably why the immune system overreacts, because it hits so many places at once.

Liver and kidney failure, copious pneumonia, heart failure, nervous system changes, brain damage, blood clots, strokes. This is a multiple site killer. That is what separates it from the flu.

Why does it affect elderly and certain segments of the rest of the population is still unknown. Genetics?

A doctor at Providence Cedars Sinai has some fresh findings related to that.
He looks for ‘markers’ in the blood of certain patients, and he thinks that the current policy to tell peole to go home and isolate (unless you are Fredo) but come in if you get worse, is keeping doctors from treating these patients as early as they should:

covid19 is a engineered corona virus bio-weapon. its a “splicer”. most probably smallpox judging by virility and erythematous exanthem. oh and Kim Jon ill is dead by the way. a good weekend to all.

Kim Jong-il died in 2011. So pretty much everyone has noticed. But thanks for just making sure. And a good weekend to you, likewise.

Dang it. Nobody ever tells me anything. Was there a good turnout of his funeral?

I am one of his doppelgangers. I look just like him, say compared to a walrus or an iguana.

“Was there a good turnout of his funeral?”

Pretty good for a December funeral with no soup and sandwiches for the funeral crashers. 🙂

Lots of histrionics, chest beating, wailing and gnashing of teeth, from what I recall.

It looks to me like an out-sourcing fiasco, of which there have been several. The research was too dangerous to perform in American labs. The Chinese labs, however, were not up to snuff to do this dangerous research. There are reports of other bio-labs throughout the world that do research too dangerous to do in America due to safety concerns.

      • bluedog May 1, 2020 at 11:41 am #

Hmm we have no idea of what research is being done in American labs or the institutes of higher learning, and trying to second guess is a waste of time and serves only to muddy the waters.!!!!

        • sevensec May 2, 2020 at 12:42 pm #

To a large extent, bluedog, we *do* know.

Genetically engineering viruses that never before existed in nature isn’t some far-out sci-fi development, as it is frequently represented in the press and to the general population.

In fact, it isn’t even remotely rare in academic, industry, or government research; it’s become a workhorse approach for expressing proteins of interest, for genetically altering cells’ DNA in specific ways, for studying novel infectious characteristics (including “gain-of-function”), for trying out cancer therapies—and so on.

In effect, there are literally *thousands* of bio-research institutes spread throughout the globe making recombinant viruses day in and day out, of almost every sort imaginable—from adenoviruses to HIV. I can also tell you it is usually done with little or no security, as the viruses are simply assumed to be “harmless”.

Now if you take thousands of labs all around the world essentially mass-producing all sorts of novel engineered viruses, generally assumed to be harmless and with little precaution against their escape, how long until one of them not only sneaks out but turns out not to be so harmless after all? It becomes a numbers game, mostly a matter of time. Only scientific hubris or a terminally closed mind could rule out the possibility.

Due to the sheer amount of experimentation going on, it is even quite concievable that the worldwide capacity of modern science to develop novel viruses has by now outstripped even that of Mother Nature.

Once you understand these facts, the possibility that the Covid was released from a lab, and that it might also have been genetically manipulated in some way, ceases to be outlandish at all. It is simply something that was likely to happen eventually, because of the sheer scale, reach, and one might say the *self-assurance* of the whole scientific enterprise.

        • WayfaringStranger May 2, 2020 at 5:08 pm #

Entire books have been written on this subject.
The US military, our scientists, and major universities (i.e.The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Harvard, and all the most respected) have been engaged in bio-warfare development and specifically in the use and enhancement of known diseases and all types harmful viruses and bacteria since 1939.
Japan, Germany, Britain were early adopters, and then slightly late to the party – the US – all have been doing some really really sick “you don’t wanna know” shit since then, and of course modern times will have many other nations going hard at it too.
No second guessing needed, waters all clear.

      • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 11:57 am #

” The Chinese labs, however, were not up to snuff to do this dangerous research. There are reports of other bio-labs throughout the world that do research too dangerous to do in America due to safety concerns.”

If they’re too dangerous to do in America, by definition they’re too dangerous to do anywhere.

Except that, if you’re suggesting other labs aren’t up to snuff, perhaps they’re too dangerous to do anywhere except America?

      • Gonga Din May 1, 2020 at 12:44 pm #

Shakespeare is rolling around in his grave. What wouldn’t that mob be willing to do to thwart recompense. Do you think they wouldn’t spike the salad bars with virus at Chipotle, for instance. Having taken it this far I’m not betting against the idea that they would be willing to take it all down, and turn Civilization into “The Walking Dead”, which who (WHO?) can say isn’t the long term prognosis of Covid 19, anyway. Have a nice weekend.

  2. snagglepuss May 1, 2020 at 10:04 am #

Thank you for that detailed summary JHK. What a tangled web these political matters are in the United States of America. There seems to be a bogeyman under every american bed. Why has the Epstein story died on the vine? More than one person believes he didn’t kill himself. Where do people think he is hiding out? Maybe he’s had plastic surgery to alter his appearance like El Chapo (?). You couldn’t write this stuff as fiction.

    • Pucker May 1, 2020 at 10:18 am #

Epstein and Bill Gates were into Eugenics. According to the book “Dead Men Tell No Tales”, Epstein allegedly planned to freeze his head and his penis after his death to be reanimated into the future and then connected to a robot body. True story.

“ Victoria’s Secret honcho Leslie Wexner stepped down Thursday as chairman and CEO of the retail giant he started six decades ago, his reputation as a visionary businessman rattled by his long-time relationship with sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein had been Wexner’s money manager and their relationship was so close that the retail magnate gave him power of attorney and made him a trustee of the Wexner Foundation.”

    • Nightowl May 1, 2020 at 1:33 pm #

James knocked it out of the park on this entry. Concise and brimming with contempt for the actors involved. This stuff is sickening.

Yes Nightowl, and yet what was the VERY first comment about? COVID-19. Followed by twelve more comments about it. Not the subject of today’s post.

This plandemic has been very useful in knocking some very important stories off of the pages of news agencies, and out of minds.

We will see how powerful is the ‘establishment’ in protecting its own in the next six months. I have never been a supporter of Trump, but he may turn out to be the cleanest shirt on the block. Is it remotely possible that Trump is the antidote to what is wrong with the ‘swamp’ or just another grifter, satisfying his enormous ego?

    • Beryl of Oyl May 1, 2020 at 10:18 am #

shot, yes I do believe he is satisfying his enormous ego, but no, he is not grifting, and yes he is the cleanest shirt.
He has said that even he was surprised by how clean he is.

    • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 10:44 am #

Trump ran with promises to drain the swamp. I believe he intended to do exactly that. However, he ran into the greatest power machine in history, the Deep State, comprised of bureaucrats, elected Dems and elected GOPers. They have cancelled his stamp by overwhelming him. I cannot imagine the daily briefing in the Oval Office, an ongoing checklist of plots against the small group of anti Deep Staters in the White House. It is very interesting that the onslaught coming from the DS have not even landed a body blow yet, but they have been very successful at blocking the agenda.

It is pure unadulterated power struggles between the prima donnas in DC. In the meantime, the American people can go to hell.

Trump is ineffective at stopping the oncoming flood of socialism, but the alternative from the Left will be a disaster for the freedom lovers of the country. This is not a good election as the effect of both candidates is disastrous to the country.

Welcome to The Long Emergency where government loses its purpose.

      • Beryl of Oyl May 1, 2020 at 10:49 am #

The Deep State never could have gotten this far without an ignorant and/or complicit media.
It should be a big story that a governor’s brother who works as a reporter faked being in quarantine. Somehow it isn’t.

      • bluedog May 1, 2020 at 11:47 am #

Lol now you have stolen Trumps line that its always someone else fault never Trumps, like Huey Long use to say don’t blame me, don’t blame thee, blame the fellow behind the tree, and that’s the reason we are in the mess we’re in.The reason for the mess of course were the endless wars the war on terrorism a self induced war that cost the country trillions so lets put the blame where it so richly deserves to be placed.!!

      • Sean Coleman May 1, 2020 at 11:57 am #

JohnAZ, as Beryl says, you missed the media from your list.

        • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 1:19 pm #

Agreed, they are the main culprits.

I include them in the Deep State.

          Deep State

          80% bureaucracy

          10% elected officials

          10% media

          • sophia May 2, 2020 at 12:38 pm #

Media is well over 10% of the problem. It is at least 25%. In order for the cabal to do its dirty work they need banking/finance, propaganda, laundered money, covert operations like CIA, and many corrupt individuals. The CIA is involved in the entertainment industry.

      • PeteAtomic May 1, 2020 at 8:25 pm #

        yep! good comments..

..and the anti-Trump antidote hoisted by Deep State ?

Joe Biden.. LOL.. or rather, Joe Biden’s running mate.. since I don’t think ole Joe is gonna make it too far into a first term, if even gets to November.

      • sophia May 2, 2020 at 12:30 pm #

What I am coming to see is the magnitude of the problem. The swamp is huge, in fact, JFK said nearly 60 years that the covert power was world wide. I believe he is getting somewhere.

    • BackRowHeckler May 1, 2020 at 11:46 am #

      Good point Shotho,

Trump may not be Teddy Roosevelt, but he may be the only Pol in DC who hasn’t scored buku swag from the Ukraine.

    • Janos Skorenzy May 1, 2020 at 1:05 pm #

He got all the grift out of his system in the private sphere. Doesn’t need to do it now, financially speaking.

    • WayfaringStranger May 2, 2020 at 5:25 pm #

      Nothing will be drained.
There’s no place for it to go, and an endless backup of other sludge sits waiting to fill in any fleeting air bubble that appears in the pipeline.

If you doubt my words, then quick name one legit person of integrity in public life today.
If I came back to re-check comments (which I don’t) and saw whatever name you put, I have no doubt at all that within 24 hours I will have found them out to be a certified packed-to-the-eyeballs asshole.
Nice people stay away from the amped-up levels of evil in the realms of power/greed/propaganda, and crappy ones hurtle toward current leadership positions at rocket speeds.
It’s like a Hogwarts Sorting Hat for real life.

What a pleasure to see real reporting,

    • James Kuehl May 1, 2020 at 10:53 am #

Could not agree more. The journalist’s job is to piece complex story lines together in context. JHK is among the few who have this skill.

  5. RB May 1, 2020 at 10:22 am #

I hope no one will hold their breath waiting for anyone on the list to ever go before a court. Never gonna happen. The fix has been in since Trump was inaugurated.

    • Daddyotis May 1, 2020 at 12:02 pm #

Wouldn’t mind holding my breath for a few “hemp rope over-the-lamp-post” incidents tho. Honestly, when I was reading JHK’s list of usual suspects at the end of his post, my imagination did begin sparking just so.

  6. akmofo May 1, 2020 at 10:24 am #

There’s one player, and in my eyes the biggest player, missing from the list, and that’s China. China connects to Brennan and it connects to the Clintons/Obama, the other politicians, the business tycoons, and the commie MSM. This is where investigations should ultimately be focused on.

    • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 10:46 am #

And where did the Biden’s get some of their cash? China. If Biden gets in there, we are number two.

      • akmofo May 1, 2020 at 10:56 am #

Indeed. A billion dollars for Hunter to play with and get commissions on.

Biden knew and knows EVERYTHING regards SpyGate. He was in on the loop, just as much as Obama and Clinton. JudicialWatch.org has already exposed him.

        • akmofo May 1, 2020 at 11:58 am #

Tom Fitton: There’s evidence that the SpyGate abuse was wide spread throughout the Obama Administration, so why is the DOJ refusing to prosecute anyone? The only real FISA reform will come when the DOJ decides to prosecute those who broke the law.

      • bluedog May 1, 2020 at 11:59 am #

John your behind time we already are number two and in more ways then you even wish to know, look at the junk the MIC produces that no one wants, that cost trillions of dollars and you wonder why “our have to have enemies” are so far ahead. Its call corruption, with a capitol C aided by a corrupt congress and yes that also includes the republicans the same ones who committed treason by standing up and giving a foreign leader a few standing ovations.!!!!!!

Ah yes where would we be without the commies to slop up the corruption and graft within the system, China has now taken over Russia spot as those dreaded commies who will be next, for we surly can’t blame our own system of parasitic capitalism.Oh my go!!!

      • akmofo May 1, 2020 at 12:24 pm #

Yey, another China magpie. These predicaments has little to do with the system and EVERYTHING to do personal corruption. That personal corruption starts with the Satanic Vatican moral/spiritual/ideological corruption of Romanism/Communism/Socialism/Fascism/Nazism/Progressivism. Without biblical morals you are nothing. The Chinese Commies will come apart just as the Vatican Russian Commies came apart, just as the Vatican Jihadists are now coming apart. The only reason they survived this long is because they were allowed to steal everything they have from us. That party is coming to an end. You will soon see severe embargoes and boycotts of EVERYTHING China until the CCP and Chinese imperialism is no more.

        • bluedog May 1, 2020 at 1:29 pm #

We’ve practiced Emergency declarations, shortages and rationing, doing with less, reporting unapproved behavior, increased censorship, policing, surveillance, the ideas of Identity cards of some type, reduced mobility, miles of roads shut down, rapid shifts in industry to satisfy “war” needs, and just generally constant use of the word “war”, also daily public admiration of heroes and numerous typical “troop” support efforts. I could go on, but you already get the idea.

But don’t panic yet, if war was really a mid-range goal there would be stockpiling of massive, untold, humongous amounts of oil reserves…..

Fully agree, Beryl. I was just out for a walk on the street and saw about half of those also outside wearing them. Understand I live in a fairly wide-open NE community, not pack in like city sardines. I was approaching a mom and her two toddler kids also outside who happened to be casually wearing their masks around their necks. You should have seen the fear in her eyes (and the confusion in the eyes of the toddlers) as she roughly forced them to Don their masks so they wouldn’t catch any post entail Daddyotis Ebola emanating from my mouth.

The following media figures might be named as unindicted co-conspirators: Dean Baquet, Martin Baron, Jeff Zucker, Andrew Lack, Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Chris Cuomo, Joe Scarborough, David Corn, David Ignatius, and Ari Melber.”

There are New Yorkers unable to access their unemployment money with the cards the state issued, and unable to get the unemployment division on the phone.
It seems like a governor who threw the people he deemed non-essential out of work, should be on top of how well the unemployment program is working, but he wasn’t even aware of what the health department was doing during the never-ending crisis.

Jim thanks for saving me $3. I was going to go out and pick up a copy of The New York Times to check the coverage of the bombshells in the Flynn case, but you saved me the trouble. This is (or was) the paper that covered the Watergate scandal for months with front page stories. It’s really sad. I let my Sunday only subscription lapse, but can’t quite break the habit, so I pick one up at the drugstore most weekends. The quality of the paper is pretty uneven. Sometimes there are decent articles on the arts, travel, business, etc. Other times in seems like the staff of Mother Jones has taken over, with endless editorials and stories overlaid with identity politics. The magazine used to be interesting, but now it’s story after story of oppressed minorities, gay this, feminist that. I guess I should kick the habit, save $6 and free up a few hours every Sunday.

The lesson for me here was reading articles in areas where I had some expertise and realizing that they had it largely wrong. Then I realized that I accepted the articles in areas where I had no expertise as correct.

When it comes down to it, the stories all must fit the overarching narrative. I tired of that narrative in 2000, when the Times chose to run a picture of a smiling Elian Gonzales on its front page instead of the photo of the terrorized kid and the jackbooted thugs. (And I even thought he should be returned to his father.) the only other day I bought a paper was after 9/11.

Perhaps you’ve just grown tired of the narrative. I Don’t read them at all anymore.

        That is interesting ignorance.

Actually, it was the St. Bartholomew’s Day massacre, which went on for a couple of months and even spread out of France, which really cemented the understanding that the people need not be sitting ducks for a govt gone rogue.

And actually, the wording of the 2nd amendment itself shows that it is a matter of the people being able to defend themselves against a militia.

The English is a bit archaic. Maybe that’s why so many people fail to understand the sentence.

Nothing archaic about it at all – and certainly nothing about being able to defend yourself against a militia … that is laughable. The right to bear arms was included to allow the formation of a militia to put down slave riots, in an era with no police force, and very little standing army – not for individual defence against a government.

          Just to remind you:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

After all, he’s just a man, a mortal with perhaps a decade or two left. The Globalism, open borders, government dependency, socialism – for what? If they destroy the American economic engine, wouldn’t they also destroy the machinery that generates wealth? What is the benefit of having power if wealth is destroyed?

Not sure you have a “Left” in America at all … the Democratic Party hardly qualifies. But progressives would like to reform stuff, not tear it all down. Get a better deal for poor Americans – address some of the deep inequality issues that make them and keep them poor in the first place.

The world isn’t going to end, and the commies don’t win, if the tax rates on corporations and wealthy people ent up 5-10% … they can more than afford it, and the US is already a low-tax OECD country.

Reform is required on so many fronts, but all within the JHK warning scenario of financial crumbling and resource depletion. There are so many bigger, more urgent, issues than Deep State shenanigans … I’m always puzzled when JHK obsesses over it.

Wow, this reminds me of the Soviet Union in the 1930s I’ve been reading about, high stakes, high level political intrigue, and losers in the game crushed by state security, the NKVD then, the FBI now. It’s all there, the manuevering, the denunciation, the interrogation, only thing left is the inevitable show trial and certain conviction of guilt. Of course the big difference is, for example, when Red Army General Tukhachevsky was convicted of trumped up charges of treason he was immediately shot, along with his entire family, friends, extended family, and 80,000 other Red Army officers. A conviction of General Flynn would result in a few years in federal prison, possible loss of privileges of a retired officer, financial ruin, and disgrace … and plenty of ‘high fivin’ over at Quantico.

In regard to the persistent titillation of UFO sightings, at least since 1947: I have steadfastly maintained that governments and military bureaucracies have nothing to gain and everything to lose by disclosure.

“Yes, thanks for the trillions of dollars, the adulation, the perks of power. Sorry we are absolutely helpless to do anything about the incursions into our airspace of these things, the reported abductions, animal mutilations and threats to our national security.

“Therefore we will continue to stonewall, distract, divert the conversation, create false flags and hoaxes, ridicule and punish. How else can we respond? This is our nature.”

The case was closed with the 2010 Disclosure Conference held by the National Press Club in Washington, where numerous retired USAF personnel, most of them responsible for the security and readiness of ICBMs and nuclear weapons, openly stated what they could never say while in uniform.

The video is available in its entirety on YouTube.

The response of the government was to ignore the event in its entirety. What else could they do?

How disturbing to see all the Americans wearing the blue or perhaps seafoam green badges of fear and ignorance, those masks. No, they don’t “work”.

Good grief … now even protective face masks are being politicised and weaponised. What is wrong with you people?

Dems who wear masks are showing they are rational beings, who take their social responsibilities seriously, and wish to solve the pandemic crisis, and save as many lives as possible in the process.

Repubs reject masks as pussy badges and liberal flags … they don’t give a stuff about average Americans, or whether they live or die – they’re far too busy holding both hands out getting mountains of cash from their puppet-masters.

Mike Pence refusing a mask at the Mayo Clinic was far more dangerous than any Deep State shenanigans over the past four years.

They need to be proven to cut viral transmission.

          • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 1:41 pm #

They do not. Viruses go right through them, the cloth ones.

            However, droplets are another story.

The mask is a barrier to droplets. Imagine a person sneezing in a store. We know droplets can suspend for a few hours with viable virus load in them. Someone walks through the cloud sans mask. Bingo, next case. Direct contact is not required.

The mask is a barrier to the sneezer, talker, cougher expressing their mucus out to the world.

The mask is a barrier to touching your face around the nose and mouth.

That’s what makes some people believe that this virus was engineered or whatever they call it.
The flu hits very young and very old harder. This virus is missing that end of the ‘horseshoe’ for some reason.
There are elderly Chinese who believe that the bat flu was used to rid the populace of the elderly and infirm.
This is not an endorsement by me. It is just something that’s out there.

        • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 1:45 pm #

You are hinting at something that really ticks me off.

I do not believe we have the primary transmission route. There is a steady state level of new cases in Arizona and Colorado that seems to be unresponsive to isolation. So either the population is too stupid to be isolated, or something else is going on.

      • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 12:18 pm #

“People had the CCP virus and got better, or never got sick, weeks ago.”

And yet we’re still losing almost 800 people a day here (just in the hospitals) and my other half’s going into care homes with Covid patients in them, and all with the ‘protection’ of one of those blue masks, a papery pinny that could blow the virus all over you as you try to remove it once you’re outside in the wind, plus the goggles I bought him on e-Bay or Amazon.

So, are the Covid patients not Covid patients? Or are they Covid patients and he should refuse to see them because his kit is inadequate?

Btw, getting people to wear masks outside is part of the preparations for exiting the lockdown. They help slow down transmission in the post-lockdown phase, which helps keep the curve flat.

Basically, other people wearing masks helps you not get infected, and you wearing a mask helps other people not get infected (including people more vulnerable than you). Is America up to that kind of mutual consideration or are you just into each man for himself? And wearing a non-badge that says ‘I’m a maverick – look at ME’?

And behaving like this moron coughing over his supporters?

Note that in countries like S. Korea, where they avoided a lockdown, everyone is wearing masks. Because they’ve been here before and were prepared.

        • Beryl of Oyl May 1, 2020 at 12:35 pm #

Did I say no one has been hospitalized due to the virus?
I said masks don’t work, and there is no evidence that they do.
Our hospitals never got the expected surge, and this was back when no one was wearing masks.
We imported some COVID and presumed COVID cases, we had so few.
Some people get very sick with this disease, most of them over 60, and even of those most recover.
Locking down a country was a ridiculous stunt.

          • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 12:47 pm #

The evidence suggests that wearing masks slows down transmission, not that it stops it. So each infected person is likely to infect fewer people than if they don’t wear a mask (we’re principally concerned with asymptomatic and presymptomatic people here).

There’s also some anecdotal evidence that what does you most harm (viz. dead doctors and nurses) is getting a high viral load at your first exposure. Wear a mask when you’re asymptomatic and that cough is likely to lead to a lesser viral load, which might just save the life of the person you just infected.

I know it’s a terrible, terrible imposition to cover your mouth for a few months, but still…

          • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 12:51 pm #

I wore a cotton one for the first time this morning. And yes, life is definitely nicer without something stuck on your face. But since lockdown restrictions are gradually going to be lifted and more people will be around and about with the virus, I’m rather hoping that there will be more people like me around me than people like you. Because their mask-wearing decisions will affect me, as my mask-wearing decisions affect them. And I’d quite like to have another 20 years even though you’ve discounted me because of my age.

          • Beryl of Oyl May 1, 2020 at 12:53 pm #

Yes it is an imposition to cover my face due to a “suggestion” without any evidence to back it up.

I am not in the habit of coughing on people.

            “Social distance” is bullcrap too.

          • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 1:05 pm #

I’m not in the habit of coughing on people either, Beryl (but it’s not all about you, believe it or not). And sometimes people cough when they’re ill. It’s a reflex caused by the illness, not by bad manners, and the effects of their cough go well beyond where they imagine, even if they don’t cough directly on another person.

But, like I said, I’m hoping there won’t be too many people like you around me once the lockdown begins to be lifted. You fit much better where you are.

          • Beryl of Oyl May 1, 2020 at 1:07 pm #

I haven’t discounted anyone because of their age. Locking down a country over a virus was a ridiculous stunt.
            I’m over sixty myself.

Locking down a country was a ridiculous stunt.

            “Social distance” is bullcrap too.

Yes … we think we understand you don’t like the pandemic. And no-one else likes it either. But the point is, without lock-down, social distancing, self-isolation and quarantine, the whole country could have been as bad as NYC.

Because these measures were effective, they are being attacked as “unnecessary” – the logic is deeply flawed. And to keep the numbers really low, masks are part of the future.

Along with more testing, continued social distancing, temp tests, hand-washing, and support for the isolated. All of this until there is a treatment or a vaccine.

          • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 1:27 pm #

I wasn’t discussing the lockdown, just the potential of masks to slow the transmission rate, which will matter more once the lockdown is relaxed. I have sympathy with the no-lockdown view, with appropriate measures to prevent the health services from being overwhelmed. It was more likely to work over your way than ours, because your hospitals have more spare staffing capacity (although PPE seems to have been an issue there too).

And as you are over-60 I hope your neighbours will be more willing to take precautions, so that when you get it, it’s a lower load. As I’m nearer 70 than 60 I most certainly hope mine will be. They’ve looked very considerate so far (crossing roads and such), before the mask phase. That will get more difficult once the traffic returns to its former level.

          • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 1:32 pm #

“Because these measures were effective, they are being attacked as “unnecessary” – the logic is deeply flawed.”

It’s called the ‘prevention paradox’, apparently. You take measures to prevent something being as bad as it might and it turns out not to be as bad as it might because of your measures. Bingo, you get accused of doing something unnecessary.

The Black Plague in Europe lasted from 1348 till 1897.

So if you’re gonna wait for this virus to go away it will be a long wait, 550 years or thereabouts.

          • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 4:38 pm #

Who’s waiting for it to go away? Slowing transmission keeps the hospitals from being overwhelmed and health and care-home staff not all off work at once. It’s not complicated. Then you can wait for herd immunity if that’s a relevant concept with this virus.

And there are plenty more where this one came from. Five hundred known ones in bats and there may be thousands.

And livestock rearing getting more intensive every day.

I found that article to be a level-headed summary of the facts — ALL of them, to date— without any political spin at all, which is the main standard criticism of the NYT hereabouts.

The fact that JHK so carelessly asserted that the NYT had not even mentioned this information is troubling. He seems to have boarded the ‘train of coincidence’.

We shall see what Judge Sullivan makes of it all. No gloating, either way.

“The documents show details of a debate among F.B.I. officials before interviewing Michael T. Flynn in 2017, days after he lied to the vice president about his talks with a top Russian diplomat.”

You might call it a debate if you were oblivious, as the NYT isn’t. Omitted from that description of the developments is the handwritten note proving that the FBI was trying to figure out how to entrap Flynn into either admitting to violating the Logan act, or causing him to commit perjury. So, two people “debate” how to destroy a third; if private citizens, that’s conspiracy, if FBI agents, bravery and integrity. Also gratuitously added is the detail about “Flynn lying,” which is immaterial to the larger story about FBI agents actively trying to undermine Flynn.

That Flynn was selected for National Security Advisor but didn’t know to bring a lawyer to a meeting with the FBI probably indicates there were better candidates for the position, of course. But the FBI ought to have let him resign and collect its scalp.

So, does th NYT understand the “developments?” The FBI has been shown to be a government-paid-for dirty tricks department. My wife, a life-long Democrat, has become thoroughly disgusted with the party at the national level. Spoke treason last night: might vote Trump.

          • Saunders62 May 1, 2020 at 4:01 pm #

Well, he did violate the Logan act, he discussed a deal with a foreign government while a private citizen, usurping the authority of the US Government. Then lied about it to the FBI and the VP. Then Trump fired him for lying and put it in writing. Then Flynn pled guilty.

Apparently, the Covid 19 virus attaches to the ACE2 Receptor which is everywhere in the body. And it also attaches to a different separate receptor in blood cells which accounts for all of the blood clotting. So, basically, the virus attacks all of the organs, nervous system including the brain, and the blood cells at once. It’s not the flu. I wonder why it doesn’t kill everyone?

    • Beryl of Oyl May 1, 2020 at 12:07 pm #

Yup. The steady state incidence rate may point at a continuing attrition of folks catching the disease until herd immunity, 70 to 80% is reached.

If immunity works. If not, we are in deep s**t. No immunity, no vaccine, just wait until you get it.

BTW, if steady state is real, social distancing means nothing.

        • GreenAlba May 1, 2020 at 4:49 pm #

There’s still a lot of de facto social distancing going on in Sweden, and a lot of children being kept out of school. Just because the schools are open (up to 15/16 anyway) doesn’t mean the classrooms are full.

Hub schools and nurseries have been kept open here for key workers’ and at-risk children, but sometimes the staff arrive (maybe after walking miles to get there) to find that there are no kids that day. Heard that through my daughter who works in a nursery.

A colleague at work here this morning told me that she had heard on the radio that New York’s funeral homes and graveyards are overrun and unable to cope. I replied that they were either exaggerating or that this happens at this time every year. Or both. In any case why were the Irish media talking about New York? Is it because they cannot find anything to shock nearer home? Nearly everyone here still believes this rubbish.

    • Cargill May 1, 2020 at 12:27 pm #

Stories aren’t “rubbish” just because you don’t want to believe them. We had big stories here about the un-refrigerated trucks holding bodies outside a funeral home, and also stories of overwhelmed cemeteries. Not rubbish.

NYC is the world epicentre for Covid-19 … it’s a big story, and of course other nations (especially English-speaking ones) are going to cover it. Plus the connections between Ireland and NYC are very strong.

So what. Potter’s fields and dumping has been the fate of homeless, nameless folks for centuries. I saw pictures of the mass graves being dug in NYC. It is a shame and just as inevitable.

Wait a minute. Cargill, your chance to shine. What exactly would you have done differently than Cuomo or DeBlasio?

        • Cargill May 1, 2020 at 5:51 pm #

I know that ‘mass’ graves exist (and have existed) in NYC for a long time … all big cities have to dispose of unclaimed bodies. But that is a deflection – the big story is the storing of bodies in un-refrigerated trucks near a funeral home.

It’s not rubbish, and all the virus-deniers could do well to pull their heads out of the sand.

Has the penny dropped yet, Mr Coleman? LOL!

Wait a minute. Cargill, your chance to shine. What exactly would you have done differently than Cuomo or DeBlasio?

I probably would have taken it a lot more seriously a lot earlier … but things are easy in hindsight.

Strange when I did a search on how many died from the flu it stated that 2017 was the worse year, with some 80,000 deaths then a search on the so called virus brought up the deaths were somewhere around 60,000,so its still got a ways to go before it catch’s up to 2017,which makes it suspect that it just might be something to blame the financial blow out coming.!!!

        • Majella May 1, 2020 at 2:51 pm #

Blue dog – over what timeframe were the 2017 80,000 deaths? 6 months? That’d be an average of 440 per day.

The daily average of Covid-19 deaths in the USA has been exceeding 2,000 for a couple of weeks now with no apparent sign of letting up.

Daily new infections reports have been exceeding 20,000 per day.

Right now, there are a reported 889,000 current cases, with > 15,000 listed as “serious”.

When looking at the JHU list, I find it telling that those jurisdictions that are on top of the situation have a “recovered” cases numbers that is at least twice as big as the “active cases” number. Currently the USA reports 159,000 recovered but has 889,000 cases. It’s a very long way to go.

          • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 2:59 pm #

            Steady state incidence, leveled off.

Does it mean that it is going to just chew us up over a period of time?

The surge profile, where the case load increases then decreases to near zero was put up byTrump’s MDs. The decline is critical if all the businesses and the government’s recovery plans are going to work. Otherwise we are going to see our population getting chewed up over the next few years.

Sweden may be at steady state.

It’s an ill wind that doesn’t carry good fortune to someone. There’s lot of money in Covid. Think of all the work Ad agencies have had. There was nothing for the few two weeks or so – than an extraordinary flowing of new ads about what to do during the interim, how we’re all in this together, etc.

  26. Cargill May 1, 2020 at 12:16 pm #

[C]ovid19 is a engineered corona virus bio-weapon. its a “splicer”. most probably smallpox judging by virility and erythematous exanthem.

Good grief. Here we go again … do you have one shred of credible evidence to prove – or even just to suggest – that Covid-19 is not naturally occurring, and did not enter the human species accidentally via a wild food market?

Any little bit of evidence at all.

    • Pucker May 1, 2020 at 1:18 pm #

From published papers emanating from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, we have a cornucopia of evidence that researchers with the Wuhan Institute of Virology were collecting bats from caves in Southern Yunnan Province to study their multifarious coronaviruses. We have US funding grants lying around that describe the research. Also, we have Miss Zhengli in an interview telling a French reporter that the release “was not intentional.”

If you see a 6 foot banana, and all of the other bananas are 6 inches, then is it “natural”. What about a virus that mutates 3 million times faster than other viruses and is much more lethal and can leap between different species?

      • Cargill May 1, 2020 at 1:47 pm #

None of what you’ve just said proves – or even suggests – that “[C]ovid19 is a engineered corona virus bio-weapon. its a “splicer”. most probably smallpox judging by virility and erythematous exanthem.”

Fiddling with smallpox to weaponise it is a long way from undertaking coronavirus research on bats. Such research is fairly common … happens here in Australia too – we’ve had hantavirus and Hendra virus cases that relate to bats.

        • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 2:01 pm #

Well, Cargill, why are these power freaks being allowed to fiddle with viruses in the first place. I would say that the danger for humans to extinct themselves from “bug fiddling” is higher than nuclear warfare.

          • Cargill May 1, 2020 at 2:15 pm #

No one has demonstrated any gene fiddling at all … it is an a prior assumption that actually needs some proof/

Specifically, Fauci. It became illegal in the US, so they moved the operations to their friends and sponsors in China.

        • Pucker May 1, 2020 at 3:24 pm #

Bioweapons are illegal under international law, so no one will admit to developing bioweapons. But the line between “Medical Research” and biological weapons development is very blurry.

The origin story was that the Covid 19 virus came from a Wuhan wet market. Now that they can’t hide all of the obvious bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and all of the published research (much of it in collaboration with the Americans and the Australians), they’re changing the story.

    • Nightowl May 1, 2020 at 1:47 pm #

Prove it is naturally occuring. That is kind of the point, Carghoul. No one knows.

      • Pucker May 1, 2020 at 3:27 pm #

It occurred naturally in a remote cave in Southern Yunnan Province. Then, rather than fire bombing the cave, they brought it to Wuhan and studied and manipulated the virus for 5 years. And then one day someone fucked up, and it was released into the environment. Chernobyl 2.0.

Or perhaps Fauci was ignorant of the necessity of walking around with one of those on his face, and some kind soul only just took it upon himself to educate him?

The primary purpose of the Deep State is perpetuation of the DC mob, both parties. Trump won when enough folks out in the public realized that fact. When the GOP and Dem plan to offshore our manufacturing base became obvious, the folks affected turned on their Dem masters. Actually, their Deep State masters.

Trump has not been effective against the DC mob and it may cost him the election. If we elect a Deep State alternative, we are toast.

I would love to see Mr. K do his version of Abbot and Costellos version of “who’s on first”. I’d have give up long ago trying to keep the plot and the characters straight.

As for prosecutions, it all depends on which federal judge you get appointed by a given president. Given that, nothing will be done or completed by the time Trump leaves the White House (racist by the way) and the follow on president and AG drop the whole thing. This assuming Trump doesn’t win. That is the big question though. He might even decide not to run at the last minute citing health considerations rather than losing to a whack case. He would go out a loser which is worse than death to an ego like his.

    “Who’s on first?”

Flynn lies to an FBI group who were obviously, now known, out to get him. Why? Because their real aim point was Trump. They had to get someone, somewhere to substantiate the BS they were trying to cut down Trump with. They failed, probably because their made up BS was exactly that, made up.

Typical Leftist routine, no Deep State routine. Want to get someone? Make up a story to try to impeach him, try to intimidate enough people to testify against him, put together a political story then impeach. The Ukraine debacle was a perfect example.

The full power of the Deep State, including the judiciary in DC has been unable to pin anything on him.

Mr. Flynn is a retired US intelligence officer who believes China is part of a “working coalition” of state and non-state actors composed of “jihadis, Communists and garden variety tyrants.” He also believes the United States is engaged in “a world war” against this collection of bad actors, who Flynn believes are bound together by a shared hatred of “the West.”

So, we now we know who had motive and why. But what motive did the corrupt operatives of “Deep State” have to bring down General Flynn? What would it accomplish for them? Nothing. The orders came from their boss, China.

      • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 5:37 pm #

They had to get Trump. They tried to threaten Trump supporters with prosecution to try to get at Trump. Flynn blinked, then stiffened his spine after a judge challenged him.

Yeah, but why Flynn? Why target him specifically? I think it has everything to do with China, and Flynn’s extremely hostile attitude towards China, and that’s really where this whole inquisition and attempted political assassination originates.

Today’s lament over the extrajudicial partisan zeal of the deep state is warranted from what I can see on the surface, but I’ll back Steele’s research in so far as UrineGate & requisite Russian Federation video was recorded for posterity sake by the Russian Federation Intelligence Officers that were recording that incident in the adjacent Russian Federation hotel room to that of Trump.

Not a soul could withstand Jim’s tar & feather approach to the infallibility of the current POTUS. I, for one, know for a fact that UrineGate is genuine article fact delivered up by former MI-6 with no reason or incentive to feed bad research to his colleagues as that would signal an end to future contracts for intel.

Jim can hang the lot in the gallows but Steele is still legit IMHO.

    • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 2:49 pm #

Bull, the incentive was HRC trying to take down Trump’s escalating popularity before the election. She knew and so did the DNC that she was going to lose, that is why she cancelled the victory parties before the election. Desperate measures for desperate times!

You are a shill for the DNC and the media.

      • Robert White May 1, 2020 at 3:22 pm #

Steele was conducting research long before HRC got interested & contractually obligated. Steele has the goods to be sold and the DNC bought it off of him. Then the media did the spinmeistership to which all else followed. The DNC should have known better than to be so closely tied to Steele’s proprietary research.

DNC counsel should have known that their bias would render the purchase of the Intel & research far too suspect for White House Chief-Counsel as that kind of slant would be too much skew for a court to process in light of any sort of defense.

From square one the DNC had tainted themselves by purchasing the opposition research as unbiased Intel to be presentable to a court. Cui bono is too much incentive, I agree, but it does not negate the truthfulness of Steele’s research conclusions.

If you get the bottom 10 percent doc, good luck. Then if you are very rich, you can hang out in New Zealand. Some get tended to quickly; others get sent home and told to see what happens.

The real agony is the bills coming your way if you survive it. Then you can have a stroke and start all over. So, it matters if you have good insurance at a minimum.

Some are more equal than others like with everything else.

      • Billy Hill May 1, 2020 at 3:16 pm #

Hey — wpa — just after I recalled the Sokol Hoax and looked it up to remind myself of the absurdity of the academy I read this story:

Be advised, Brittney is an exceptionally large black female. You want her to be your friend.

Brittney Cooper, an associate professor in the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Rutgers University, is doubling down on her prior public comments denouncing Trump supporters and alleging a conspiracy to kill black people. She notably has invoked her tenure status with the latest tweet attacks: “I have tenure. Rutgers won’t be firing me for tweets.” As many of you know, I have long taken the same position on the free speech rights of faculty on social media and public comments. However, schools have been less than consistent in punishing or investigating faculty based on the content of their views. Cooper declaring “F— each and every Trump supporter” obviously would include many students in the university. She blames “white depravity” and claims “when whiteness has a death wish, we are all in for a serious problem.” As previously discussed, it is doubtful that these same attacks directed against African-Americans or other groups would be treated in the same fashion.

This week, Cooper tweeted “F— each and every Trump supporter. You absolutely did this. You are to blame” for the pandemic. She brushed off past criticism and declared “I said what I meant. And I curse cuz I’m grown. I have tenure. Rutgers won’t be firing me for tweets.”

Blacks, if they are dying at a higher rate than whites, are doing so because they have less vitamin D. This is simple and crucial knowledge that black people need to know. Slightly higher rates of obesity and diabetes would also contribute.

I agree … all the deep-state cultists and conspiracy-theory chasers just can’t accept the evidence from several authorities: it is a naturally occurring bat virus that jumped species in Wuhan – no deliberate human intervention at all.

Rather than jumping at nut-fudge shadows, people should be demanding that China implement serious food hygiene and animal welfare practices.

And enforce it with various economic and trade sanctions … but the Fox-watching zombies are too addicted to their cheap flatscreen TVs.

If — when — the truth (whatever that is) becomes reported “fact,” (There’s a ministry for that too) should your opinion coincide with “fact” you get the prize.

Having said that we love the reference to “several authorities…”

Reminds us of “high level unnamed sources”.

Is it plausible that a US operative at the Military Games in Wuhan planted the virus? An operative a bit like Lt Col Vindeman. Obama holdover who felt “a higher loyalty.”

        It’s NOT just a ‘virus’, wpa_ccc. It’s a Dual Use Gain-of-Function bioweaponized nCoronavirus which is designated nCov-19 or COVID-19.

        Bioweapons are political.

        • capt spaulding May 1, 2020 at 8:48 pm #

The use of a bioweapon can be political, but the bioweapon itself kills indiscriminately.

          • Robert White May 1, 2020 at 9:45 pm #

nCov-19 spreads exponentially and is engineered to genocide elderly populations with comorbidities. It is engineered & designed to create enhanced viral pathogenicity through a designed ‘Chimera’ that is analogous to a super-spreader for purposes of viral contagion in the populations of the world.

It was released in the Wuhan district intentionally to make it look like it was a China BSL-4 leak, or accident. The CIA planners knew in advance that it was going to be vectored all over the world from the Chinese New Year exodus of travellers.

There is another viral outbreak that happened in Washington prior to the outbreak that manifested in Wuhan, but I’m positive that it is a different virus entirely from the Wuhan nCov-19 outbreak.

An Egregious Statistical Horror Story by George Gilder

With the latest reports of plummeting death rates from all causes, this crisis is over. The pandemic of doom erupted as a panic of pols and is now a comedy of Mash-minded med admins and stooges, covering their ifs ands and butts with ever more morbid and distorted statistics.

The crisis now will hit the politicians and political Doctor Faucis who gullibly accepted and trumpeted what statistician William Briggs calls “the most colossal and costly blown forecast of all time.”

An egregious statistical horror story of millions of projected deaths, suffused with incense and lugubrious accents from Imperial College of London to Harvard School of Public Health, prompted the pols to impose a vandalistic lockdown on the economy. It would have been an outrage even if the assumptions were not wildly astronomically wrong.

Flattening the curve was always a fool’s errand that widened the damage.

President Trump had better take notice. He will soon own this gigantic botch of policy and leadership. No one will notice that his opponents urged even more panicky blunders.

The latest figures on overall death rates from all causes show no increase at all. Deaths are lower than in 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2015, slightly higher than in 2016. Any upward bias is imparted by population growth.

Now writing a book on the crisis with bestselling author Jay Richards, Briggs concludes: “Since pneumonia deaths are up, yet all deaths are down, it must mean people are being recorded as dying from other things at smaller rates than usual.” Deaths from other causes are simply being ascribed to the coronavirus.

As usual every year, deaths began trending downward in January. It’s an annual pattern. Look it up. Since the lockdown began in mid-March, the politicians cannot claim that their policies had anything to do with the declining death rate.

A global study published in Israel by Professor Isaac Ben-Israel, chairman of the Israeli Space Agency and Council on Research and Development, shows that “the spread of the coronavirus declines to almost zero after 70 days—no matter where it strikes, and no matter what measures governments impose to try to thwart it.”

In fact, by impeding herd immunity, particularly among students and other non-susceptible young people, the lockdown in the U.S. has prolonged and exacerbated the medical problem. As Briggs concludes, “People need to get out into virus-killing sunshine and germicidal air.”

This flu like all previous viral flues will give way only to herd immunity, whether through natural propagation of an extremely infectious pathogen, or through the success of one of the hundreds of vaccine projects.

No evidence indicates that this flu was exceptionally dangerous. On March 20th, the French published a major controlled study that shows no excess mortality at all from coronavirus compared to other flues. SARS and Mers were both much more lethal and did not occasion what Briggs’ reader “Uncle Dave” described as “taking a hammer and sickle to the economy.”

We now know that the crisis was a comedy of errors. The Chinese let it get going in the raw bat markets of Wuhan. But together with the Koreans, the Chinese dithered and demurred and allowed six weeks of rampant propagation to create herd immunity before they began locking everyone up. Therefore, the Chinese and Koreans were among the first to recover.

The Italians scared everybody with their haphazard health system and smoking fogies. Crammed together in subways and tenements, the New Yorkers registered a brief blip of extreme cases. Intubations and ventilators turned out not to help (80 percent died). This sowed fear and frustration among medical personnel slow to see that the problem was impaired hemogloblin in the blood rather than lung damage.

The New York media piled on with panic, with bogus reports of rising deaths. “Coronavirus deaths” soared by assuming that people dying with the virus were dying from it and then by ascribing to the coronavirus other deaths among people with symptoms of pulmonary distress, even without being tested.

Now jacking up the case rate will be further pointless testing. As Briggs points out,

“Fauci is calling for ‘tripling’ of testing, which can only boost these dailies [case totals]. And make it seem like there’s a genuine increase occurring. Oh my! The daily reported cases are up! It must mean the disease is spreading!

“No. It could also mean, and probably does given all the other evidence we now have from sampling, that the disease was already there, and we just now have measured it.”

The death rate rises with further reclassification of pneumonia and other pulmonary deaths. When we reach herd immunity, and nearly everyone has the antigen, nearly all deaths can be chalked up to COVID19. Hey, it will be Quod Erat Demonstrandum for the panic mongers.

In a fascinating open letter to German Prime Minister Angela Merkel, epidemiologist Mihai Grigoriu concludes that with the French study, corroborated by findings from a Stanford antibody seroprevalence study in Santa Clara county, “the case for extreme measures collapses like a house of cards.” Grigoriu says that since the virus has already spread widely in the general population, efforts to stop further spread are both futile and destructive.

So let’s stop pretending that our policies have been rational and need to be phased out, as if they once had a purpose. They should be reversed summarily and acknowledged to be a mistake, perpetrated by statisticians with erroneous computer models.

Perhaps then we can learn from this experience with the flaws of expertise not to shut down the economy again for the totally bogus “crisis” of climate change.

JS: But until Trump and others in high office dare to fight them, the crazies will continue to win – and thus emboldened, will crush normal people who dare to open their shops or Patriots who dare to defy them. And the first step, is the tacit admission that he was wrong to go along with the farce in the first place. And that step is a huge one for an egotist like him.

    • RB May 1, 2020 at 3:30 pm #

Trump has shot his wad. He’s done. We have a national problem without a national response. Instead, we get 50 responses. Throw in some local mayors, you get even more responses. Spin the bottle and get the response you like most.

      • JohnAZ May 1, 2020 at 5:15 pm #

So-o-o, if Trump had come out and nationalized the reaction to the virus and said he was in authority, he did try it, he would have been clobbered for being a fascist and a dictator, he was. So he backed off and allowed the states their rights. Now he has shot his wad. I wish everyone would just make up their mind.

        • RB May 1, 2020 at 6:51 pm #

Great leaders do what needs to be done. Trump changes direction as the media takes him. Harry Truman is needed or an Abe Lincoln and not a third rate reality TV whack job. The Republican Party has followed him over the edge.

My mind has been made up for a long time.

My goodness we are at a level where people are arguing over Pence not wearing a mask at a clinic.

It is true that T changes his tune according to media pressure. I don’t like it. But all the worlds leaders have done exactly that except a very few.

        • sophia May 3, 2020 at 1:09 pm #

          John AZ.

They have made up their minds. Whatever Trump does, it will have been wrong.

Meanwhile, he is showing huge concern and effort, but he “has shot his wad.” What are other presidents and prime ministers doing?

I agree, he needs to get stronger and start standing up to the cabal. But it is indeed very difficult. He would be blamed even by non Trump haters for every death.

And the libs show their true colors with comments such as RB above. What is wrong with respecting state rights? What is wrong with realizing that different areas have different issues with the virus? What is wrong with allowing life to show us what the best responses might be? But no, only a dictat will do for the authoritarian dems. Except, of course, had he done that it would be wrong.

No, the ones who have shot their wad are the dems, the cabal, the prestitute media. We are on to their game. They have cried wolf so many times that they now have zero credibility.

History is repeating, Janos. President Trump is in President Hoover’s position like it or not. Usually incumbency carries the day & electoral round to victory. Unfortunately, we know historically that incumbency is a negative for voters in a recessionary economy as the voter always feels that they can do better by switching parties at the voting booth.

Trump will own his trade war with China and he will also own his lack of diplomacy vis-à-vis international trade and loss of GDP.

I am really impressed that Trump, amongst all his other duties, found time to work with Ft. Detrick and develop a virus that we sent to Wuhan, China to infect the world and cause a Depression.

I mean do they show you the horrors that go on Syria? Did they show you the constant demonstrations that go on in Europe? Did they show you all the burnt cars and shops in the garbage in Paris for example? Or is it still the same mind numbing statistics of another murder here and another murder there to top it off with the local weather?

          • Robert White May 1, 2020 at 8:32 pm #

It’s good programming most of the time, but the news cycle is not realistic or practical in that the typical news cycle is just drivel. Sometimes the CBC scores well on the stuff they programme with. CBC Saturday Night Blues is good radio.
CBC TV news is swill with high definition visual effects like CNN survives on.

BREAKING NEWS is telling in so far as it is always old news compared to Internet which is immediately available 24/7/365.

CBC Massey Lectures are sacrosanct, and so too is most of the television programming over the years given that all Canadians have grown up with proprietary CBC television & radio programs. CBC’s Cross Country Checkup is popular as is Saturday Night Blues with Randy Bachman & Holger Peterson.

Historically, the CBC Massey Lectures were way cool. Historically, the Friendly Giant was uniquely Canadian programming for children that grew up in the 60s.

CBC is greatness on our dime.

We are still in lockdown mode, Captain Spaulding. Premier Ford is just taking orders from Dr. Tam our Chief Epidemiologist for CANUCKS. She wants more data before committing to an all clear order which won’t happen given that she knows nCov-19 is subject to Viral Reactivation.

Premier Ford has seen far too many deaths to allow a full back to normal order anytime soon.

          • akmofo May 1, 2020 at 10:54 pm #

And you listen to these Massey Lectures every day, Robert? This you would argue is the indispensable use of your tax loonies and toonies? How many billions do you actually spend on the CBC for the broadcast of these lectures, do you know? Must be very expensive mics used for the recording. And the audio engineering to record them vocals must be in super duper multi channel surround sound. Is that the greatness you speak of, Robert, that can’t be replicated with a free podcast download on iTunes?

“The research community is reacting with alarm and anger to the National Institutes of Health’s (NIH’s) abrupt and unusual termination of a grant supporting research in China on how coronaviruses—such as the one causing the current pandemic—move from bats to humans.

The agency axed the grant last week, after conservative U.S. politicians and media repeatedly suggested—without evidence—that the pandemic severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) escaped from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, that employs a Chinese virologist who had been receiving funding from the grant. The termination, which some analysts believe might violate regulations governing NIH, also came 7 days after President Donald Trump, asked about the project at a press conference, said: “We will end that grant very quickly.” NIH declined to comment on why it canceled the grant, which was in its sixth year. But in emails reviewed by ScienceInsider, Michael Lauer, NIH’s deputy director for extramural research, suggested the Wuhan laboratory had not “taken all appropriate precautions to prevent the release of pathogens” that were the focus of the project. NIH offered no further support for that statement, however, and Lauer referred to the notion of the pandemic virus escaping the lab simply as “allegations.”

Canada has just banned the use or sale, possession of Assault Rifles.

Well…as there are not nearly 1500 models as the report indicated, even including every machine gun model ever made, I would expect that the definition of what the Canadians consider an “assault rifle” as…ambitious. Will, no doubt, include most, if not every semi-automatic rifle ever made.

Happy May Day, elysianfield. It’s already an offence under the Criminal Code of Canada to impersonate a peace officer. So we got that part covered already, thanks.

On balance I have to say that yes, I do feel safer for this prohibition. I agree with cabinet minister Ahmed Hussen when he says that assault weapons have no place in Canada. Considering that the Nova Scotia gunman used two semi-automatic rifles and several semi-automatic pistols to commit his act of mass murder, I can only celebrate how ambitious today’s order is. That’s what the word gunman means, after all, isn’t it? Even though he also used a Ford Taurus faked up to look like a cop car, calling him the Nova Scotia Motorist feels like missing the point, somehow.

We paid out of pocket for a nice lady to come take care of her while we were at work and this went on for months. Her mood steadily soured she became suspicious and angry even combative. The dementia took her sweet quiet demeaner and replaced it with a dark brooding person who wanted to know where her husband was.
Then one day she became angry and actually took a swing at the nice lady we hired to essentially baby sit her and took to crapping on the floor next to the toilet.

We then had to concede defeat and found a home for her. In that home were a bunch of other ladies with worse cases of dementia. Some so bad they were literal lumps of breathing flesh and nothing but occasional grunts and farts to express they were even alive.
Dementia sucks I feel bad for Joe and anyone else who has it or gets it it robs their loved ones of the person they love and eventually leaves an empty shell were a human once sat, loved and lived.

Texas has just reported the most deaths in a day as it prepares to open. Georgia just reported 1,000 new cases as the stay at home order is lifted.

These states, as others, will increase the spread of Covid locally and remotely, adding to the number of those corpsified. Maybe they will get lucky and the increase in cases won’t be that great. Not that they’re wishing for it, I hope, but the spread and continuation of Covid will certainly help the Dems in two ways come the fall and November:

1.More TWATs (Trump weary and tired). Add in scared.
    2. Judicial proceedings altered, postponed, or cancelled. (Already happening.) Barr and Durham don’t even get to the barrister’s box.
And if they don’t, I believe that Trump’s chances are slim.

We’ve had the Russia-Ukraine stink. Now we have the Covid kink. In whose favor will it twist?

Time will tell if the Republicans are slashing their own Covid carotid.

    • cc rider May 1, 2020 at 6:06 pm #

You know how many people have died so far here in Texas? 816. I’d say way more than that have had their lives destroyed by this shut down and systematic murder of the economy just in my zip code alone. Not to mention the increase of children being both abused and molested.

Today all of the businesses allowed to re-open can only operate at 25% capacity. Masks still have to be worn and social distancing practiced. Still a lot more than what Sweden has been doing. Schools still closed. Most of everything still closed. Including bars, concerts, etc…

      You’re just a pablum puker.

      • tucsonspur May 1, 2020 at 6:42 pm #

Sweden is not even a good reference example:

“Sweden’s 2,586 deaths compare poorly with Denmark’s 452, and Norway’s 207. Taking population into account, Sweden has suffered more deaths per million people than the U.S. (although deaths aren’t always counted in the same way).

When looking at all-cause mortality — which is probably a better gauge of the real level of coronavirus deaths — Sweden has been hit with “very high” excess deaths since the start of the year, according to the European body monitoring these statistics. In Denmark, they’ve been “low.”

The deaths in Texas are spiking, even though the total number is still relatively low:

Lives destroyed in a month of shutdown? I thought Texans wore ten gallon hats. Yours must be pint sized, sissy rider.

So stay at home brings out the child molesters? Well, now you know your neighbors. I hope you aren’t one.

Sweden is an excellent reference. They chose to “take the window” and get it over with.

But by choosing to “take the stairs”; your black ass is gonna be back on lockdown this September for another 90 days; with all the associated pathologies.

Women being beaten, children being molested, the jails and prisons being emptied of criminals…

Typical liberal. You say you care about the wage earning poor, but in reality you don’t give a shit. Just like you don’t care about the kids either.

The child abuse and molesting has been spiking all over the country. It’s because kids are stuck at home with in many cases their mothers live in boyfriend or second or third husband who are out of work. They’re drinking more, as well as doing other mind and mood altering things. Of course abuse of women in the home is also going up all over the country. Including in your shit hole state.

          • sophia May 3, 2020 at 2:02 pm #

Sweden has a higher death count than Norway largely because their care homes are different. Norway has small ones, Sweden has big ones. And Sweden admits it was too slow to protect the nursing homes (like just about every other country).

You lose credibility when you mockingly smear the sufferings of people. No, not everyone lives in a safe, white collar bubble. Lots of people don’t cope well, and when you add severe stress, things go hay wire. This isn’t some kind of surprise. Plus, sunshine is a human right. It has to do with health, the immune system, and being able to fight off illness.

The masks are an identifier. They signal submission.

Here in Germany, I am out every day either downtown shopping, in the nearby park, or out walking or biking. Of the 100s of folks I encounter each day, I have seen about 3 masks.

I know of noone with the disease, and we know the stats back up that there is very little to worry about. It is quite likely that many more have been exposed than reported, and cases of hospitalization are very low.

The issue has been politicized, and the submissive fearful types are doing what they always do. Effectively shutting down entire economies is unprecedented, and makes no sense when the stats are examined.

What Do Floating Log Mats Have to Do with Noah’s Flood? – Dr. Steve Austin

Hint: Coal is made very rapidly in a few years and not in thousands or millions of years as previously asserted by Darwinists. The conventional theories are false, and so is the dating of fossils.

    • Cargill May 2, 2020 at 2:07 am #

The conventional theories are false, and so is the dating of fossils.

One problem – if you have a “global flood” (as the two nutty dudes discussed) – where does the extra water come from? LOL!

Answer: the sea-level rise resulting from the melting of ice about 15,000 years was fairly rapid – over centuries rather than millennia … and is the source of the Noachian flood myths found in many primitive cultures around the world.

The loss of huge areas of flat and productive coastal land to salt water would have been a big enough event to survive race memory for many millennia.

The world is 4.6 billion years old.

The dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. Coal was created in the Carboniferous Period – about 360 to 300 million years ago. Oil was created mostly from minute sea creatures – in the Mesozoic Era (ranging 65-250 million years ago).

      Science is great!

Interesting. I don’t know what you mean by same space. I don’t pay that much attention to him, so I don’t know. I always thought Pucker/Thwack to be the same. Anyhow, I assure you I’m unique. I have enough trouble finger typing and editing Siri’s mistakes on my iPad just for one persona. English is my 5th language, and I’m usually multitasking with 2 other things. Paradoxically, it keeps me more productive to give my mind a rest with the commie idiots here.

You should quiz Thwack on his knowledge of Hebrew, Yiddish, Arabic, Russian, I’d be curious. He seems like an intelligent person, maybe he’ll surprise us. Apparently Blacks were the original Hebrews, and Jebus when he hid in Egypt couldn’t be discerned from the local black slaves of Cush. That’s according to Roman imperial scribes. I wonder why our Cush brothers now speak the language of Darwinian monkeys. No offence to English speakers, but facts are facts.

Yes I’m a little more than halfway through it. I can’t watch it all at once because it is too infuriating. Oh no, Ana Kasparian says that this isn’t true. The CIA says it’s not true, and she believes them!

    • Robert White May 1, 2020 at 8:44 pm #

Puck, nCov-19 was deployed in Wuhan China near to the now infamous ‘wet market’ by the CIA operative that was embedded with the USA Military Games contingent of troupes participating in the games. It was NOT released accidentally by the Wuhan BSL-4 laboratory or scientists. This engineered insanity is purely CIA Fort Detrick et al.

      • Cargill May 1, 2020 at 8:56 pm #

It’s a neat story, but is there any credible evidence?

        • Robert White May 1, 2020 at 10:25 pm #

Yes there is credible evidence. Unfortunately, who decides what is or is not credible is another matter entirely. Suffice to say that to the best of my knowledge & proprietary information the CIA is the manufacturer & responsible for deployment.

Haspel knowingly signed off on this Psyop which was implemented to undermine China’s rise & current negotiation regarding trade. nCov-19 is a salvo covert attack on China’s geopolitical reputation & macroeconomic standing worldwide.

The CIA could not dispatch the Jackals or buy off leadership which leaves regime change to covert ops & CIA Psyops.

        • Cargill May 2, 2020 at 1:43 am #

Suffice to say that to the best of my knowledge & proprietary information the CIA is the manufacturer & responsible for deployment.

What makes it far more likely to be true is that it has been a mega-clusterfuck … the blow-back on the US has been ten times worse that the tight but very contained lock-down in Wuhan. Smart.

Another brilliant CIA plot gone awry! Up there with the Bay of Pigs.

However if it were true, presumably there would have also been an antidote engineered as well. Or is the CIA so stupid and over-confident of their own genius that they didn’t bother with that?

Inquiring minds would like to know. We might have Trump’s Benghazi here.

          • Robert White May 2, 2020 at 9:07 am #

I’m assuming that the CIA & Pentagon have the vaccine already as nobody could be that dumb to release a bioweapon without the vaccine. Even Haspel isn’t that dysfunctional.

This clinical trial for Oral Chlorine Dioxide is what Trump was referring too, albeit badly. He never suggested injecting household bleach or Lysol. That’s ridiculous. He had been told about this GOVERNMENT trial and that’s why he turned to Birx and Fauci when he was talking to get their acknowledgment because he knew that they were aware of it. Same thing with the UV light. That is a real treatment that’s been used for other things for years in healthcare and is being looked into with regards to COVID 19.

Yes Trump is often his own worst enemy because of his inability to communicate well. And his glib inattention to details. Unfortunately he also doesn’t read. If he had read the information about the Oral Chlorine Dioxide study himself he would’ve articulated it rather than spew out a lot of incoherent ramblings that ended up giving his enemies the narrative that he is urging us to inject bleach and Lysol. I think someone told him in passing about this study and he glibly listened and then to his own detriment tried to communicate it. Garbled stream-of-consciousness as you said.

If you could just resist the temptation to sling your nasty little ‘ad homs’ combined with your own astounding hubris into a shitty little paste that you spread round like an infant playing with its own faeces, you might actually be able to make a salient point.

” No, you have the second amendment so that the wealthy slave-owning founders could arm a ‘militia’ to put down black riots. ”

For fun , let us say that you are absolutely right.

( *whisper * I DO think you are right. )

    It’s utterly irrelevant.

It is a fool who disarms when his opponent will not.

And it’s pretty fucking obvious that you gun control types will disarm — or disarm your goons , gun thugs , or storm troopers — when Hell freezes over.

Sort of like it doesn’t really matter that the South was fighting to preserve slavery.

When a party to a voluntary marriage ( in this case the Union ) says , ” I want out of the marriage because you are an asshole ” ,

And your response is , ” you will get your divorce over YOUR dead body ” ,

And then you proceed to kill that person ,

    then three salient points have just been made ;

    — There must be some substance to that claim that you are an asshole .

    — There was some substance to the desire for a divorce from you , whatever their other motives may have been .

    — You obviously don’t give a shit about human rights anyway.

    ” • lock-downs are a total over-reaction ”

Again , whether locks – downs are valid , or an over – reaction , is irrelevant.

It could be this , it could be that , and we can argue it to doomsday.

But that it’s a power grab is relevant in either case.

    • KesaAnna May 2, 2020 at 12:29 am #

      * That should have been ,

” … or disarm your goons , gun thugs , or storm trooper PROXIES. ”

It’s an old shabby trick to play the lamb while you get third parties to implement what are your real policies.

    • elysianfield May 2, 2020 at 12:54 pm #

“” No, you have the second amendment so that the wealthy slave-owning founders could arm a ‘militia’ to put down black riots. ”

  62. tucsonspur May 2, 2020 at 12:42 am #

‘Typical liberal’, cc rider referring to me.

I voted for Trump, and have been one of his most ardent supporters on this site, both before and after his election. Currently finding fault with his leadership and his lies regarding Covid does not make me a liberal. Trump’s handling of the situation could very well allow Biden to win, which I wouldn’t want to happen. That being said, right now I would prefer another Republican to lead the US and the West in its fight to survive and prosper. Someone smarter, stronger, with more substance and less swagger. But Trump is it.

The fact that you call me a liberal and curse me out shows that you haven’t been paying enough attention, that you’re short fused and emotionally fragile, and that you frame yourself as one of Hillary’s deplorables.

I don’t enjoy digging in the rowels. But you attacked me first, and like Trump, I respond in kind. Aren’t you better than this?

    • cc rider May 2, 2020 at 10:23 am #

Ok. I stand corrected on calling you a liberal. And I regret the strong language I used and if it were possible I would go back and edit it out. I was admittedly pissed at your dismissive attitude about the real pain that is being experienced by people due to the shut down of the economy, including the rise in child abuse. You then poked fun at it by making out to be only a Texas thing when it is provably an issue in every state.

    • Janos Skorenzy May 2, 2020 at 1:46 pm #

You seem to believe the Covid Narrative completely. That’s simply mind blowing.

    Oh that’s good!

  64. SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 3:08 am #

The system has been manipulated to serve a purpose that is not in the public interest. The blues and reds are more window dressing and distraction than anything else but their overrarching goal is to prevent change. And Obama is a god to some of these people, and certainly he is a symbol of the establishment, so there would seriously have to be a revolution in order for him to be held to account for his treasons. If there is any justice at all it will surface once the whole corrupt system comes crashing down. We hoped for a controlled demolition. Oh well. If the current system remains in place any misdeeds will simply be swept under the rugs and maybe a few low level players will be fed to the dogs at most. Thus drain the swamp needs more agression. How about destroy the swamp?

    • tucsonspur May 2, 2020 at 3:43 am #

Yes, Obama is near untouchable. What happens if Biden wins with Michelle on the ticket? Revolutionizing America in Spades, with Obama running the show.

Sorry to say, all this may just be a prelude to what’s coming. Like nasty resurgence in the fall with 5-10 times the mortality rate. Possible. I think we have no idea how bad this can get.

Supply chains broken. Oil piling up and then shut down, only worse than now. Autos are piling up on tankers with practically no market for them. What happens if this gets worse, and there’s a good chance it will. Things are getting too big to bail.

Covid may co-opt any prosecutions, at least for awhile, and if Trump loses it’s party time for the Hillary gang. Trump may be the one locked up. Life sure can be a you know what.

      • SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 4:09 am #

It really can be. I do think the supply chain issues and economic issues generally will be front and center as this first wave tapers. But I am also hearing the warnings of a potential second wave in the fall. Hopefully by that time we have greatly increased our testing capacity and contact tracing. The states are hiring thousands of people to do this. And then hopefully by that point we are manufacturing our PPE right here. I’m really hoping this situation brings our supply chains back home. But yeah it does all feel very up in the air and in flux and Trump has to be on pins and needles because the media and his enemies are looking for any weakness or perceived weakness to pick at.

      • Nightowl May 2, 2020 at 5:06 am #

He is not untouchable. He is referenced directly in the Strozck-Page texts.

Thank you. I attend to all of my projects with great detail and in good order…. I respect your Trump/Putin coup theory but I disagree. I simply ask you treat me with the same courtesy. The US relationship with Russia is very strained under Trump. I recall the warm relationship Obama had with Russia. Remember Hillary’s reset button and Obama’s hot mic assurances that he was Kremlin compliant?

  67. tucsonspur May 2, 2020 at 4:00 am #

‘The truth is pretty clear to me … Trump and Putin planned a coup and succeeded … the fine officers in the US civil service had an absolute duty to try and prevent this putsch and takeover. To some extent they have succeeded, but it will take a lot of effort to win on 3 November.’

Talk about LOL. C’mon, that’s too much even for you. ‘Fine officers’, OMG. If Putin and Trump had already succeeded, it couldn’t be prevented. Total 180 on what actually happened. You know this, you sly provocateur!

Great piece from Taibbi on the Corona Circus.

I’ve been on his Twitter feed a lot lately, and the notable uptick in Media Matters type shills is most interesting.

Reminded me of the changes many have noticed in the comments section here over the last few months.

    • Majella May 2, 2020 at 7:15 am #

Taibbi – I read everything I can find from him – most recently, “Hate Inc” where he breaks down the breakdown of discussion and owns his own role in it. His pieces in RollingStone from 2015 when His Bronzer-ness announced his candidacy until the election and the months of chaos since then were appointment reading, and they shaped much of my own views of The Insane Clown President (Matt Taibbi TM)

I plead ‘guilty’ too, in that my perspective, being what is generally called ‘progressive’ in US terms is constantly up against it with this President and his supporters.

I react in a way that may not be considered productive by a truly ‘disinterested observer’ but you’d have to search long & hard to find one of those these days.

Still, the ‘Other Side’ (as if there’s only two) is just as guilty of rabid one-eyed criticism of the views expressed by MY side of the coin.

But that’s the thing – it’s two sides of the same coin, and Matt T describes in excruciating detail, just how this dichotomy of views has been ‘played’ by the various media into a nasty, vicious, unbridled ‘Us & Them” scenario where neither side wons and both sides lose. And why did they do it? No prizes for guessing correctly…

The conversation on this blog is a microcosm of his argument – that we have all been ‘trained’ to hunt out and slam those with opposing views, simply because they’re opposing views.

Some try to keep the conversation & argument civil & productive (Green Alba, Tucson Spur, Elrond, K-Dog [wherever he is], Cargill, JohnAZ as a few examples only…even SSL, sometimes) while there are others who are so incensed with the idea that someone might criticize the current White House Occupant that the only reaction is to spit fire & fury, full of personal ad hominems and even low abuse – I won’t name them because they KNOW who they are (and will likely show themselves in response to this post anyway.

The weird thing is, this reaction is often premised on their self-arrived -at ASSUMPTION that the target of the abuse/criticism/reaction is a ‘hater’ of “‘Murica” or some such self-justifying bullshit. It gets actually sad when the ‘CCP shill’ or “Govt-paid ‘Bot” accusations have to be dragged out because they’ve utterly run out of any valid argument. At all.

So, once more: Yes – I’m guilty of despising this Joke President and feel a natural urge to pick at him at any given opportunity. I suppose I COULD stop indulging myself…and I might.

But there are only a few short weeks left till he’s trashed-canned into history and won’t matter anymore. So, maybe not…

      • Nightowl May 2, 2020 at 8:29 am #

“The conversation on this blog is a microcosm of his argument – that we have all been ‘trained’ to hunt out and slam those with opposing views, simply because they’re opposing views. ”

As explained in the past, I attack you because you post verifiable lies repeatedly. Then whenc called out, you lie again.

All because you dislike Donald Trump.

The last guy I voted for was Nader, and I am a registered Green who now lives in Europe, as I do not like the consumerist lifestyle that has become part and parcel of living in the US.

If you want to be taken seriously, speak truth. You have been wrong on every major issue regarding this Pres. and it is all documented in black and white — with Ukrainegate providing us the richest selection of comedic gems.

Perhaps some Chlorox would cure what ails you.

        • cc rider May 2, 2020 at 10:30 am #

We have some things in common. The last person I voted for was a Green. I’ve always respected Nader. Went to hear him speak back in 2003 I think. Maybe 04. I also detest the consumerist lifestyle.

But, this fall I plan to vote Trump as a middle finger to the out of control and increasingly fascist left that has lost its soul in the US. It will also be a middle finger to the neo liberal globalist cabal that is trying to use this plandemic as one last gasp effort to rescue their global one system agenda.

If the Dem Party were only filled with politicians and the rank and file with the mindset of the Jimmy Dores and the Matt Taibbis. And if only the GOP were only filled with the mindset of Ron Paul. Or even the traditionalist Burkean conservatives.

          • Nightowl May 2, 2020 at 3:34 pm #

The rank and file that make up the Dems and Reps constitute the Uniparty. War and grift sold in two different flavors. There is nothing worth saving there.

I, too, will vote Trump as a giant middle finger. Although it isn’t hard for me, as he is the first candidate to implement policies that many level headed centrists and classical liberals have been calling for for years. He also has balls the size of watermelons.

I just registered to vote from overseas last week, and I never thought I would vote again.

That’s quite a tell you have there, Sonny Jim.

    ” I cannot agree. ”

Again , this is neither here , nor there.

An expansion of police power is an objective fact.

Not opinion , not feeling , not a matter of what costume they are wearing , or what flag they are flying.

To be fair , many of the people here whom you ( ironically ) ridicule , also fail to see that.

Like our host , for example. He continues to push U.S. nationalism , when , basically , Walmart and the Happy Motoring culture ARE expressions of , ” The American way ” .

They just happen to be expressions of the American way that came later , rather than sooner .

John Wayne could just as well have been mounted on a Model T Ford as on a horse.

And I have no doubt that Sam Walton would have fit in just fine with the likes of the filthy rich railroad lawyer and radical imperialist Abraham Lincoln .

This is about the corona virus ?

    Sure !

And yesterday it was about Afghans , though the average person can’t tell you where the fuck Herat is , or the location of the Panjsher Valley.

And before that , some terrorists who , admittedly , achieved a rather impressive photo – op.

Excuse me , actually , before that it was it was Saddam Hussein .

No fucking idea what the secularist Saddam Hussein had to do with the fundamentalist Sunni Wahhabi Al Queda.

Maybe you could ask the CIA for a fucking clarification ?

Have the Americans and their Commonwealth buddies figured out Iraqi politics yet ?

It seems pretty obvious to me that they were complete ignoramuses on that score , and amateur dilettantes.

Which is to say that they plain didn’t fucking know whether Saddam and the B’ath Party were organic to Iraq , an aberration , or not.

Not that one American in a thousand , or one Australian in a thousand I warrant , gives a flying fuck about Iraq.

Which SHOULD give you educated types pause when it comes to a long term occupation , except it NEVER does.

Not in Africa or China in the 19th century , and not today either.

You have your bright social engineering projects . Presumably you know something that the savage natives don’t.

You’re the same arrogant assholes now you were in 1891 , except that Rudyard Kipling was a thousand times better a poet than anything you have to offer now ,

and Lord Kitchener had light years better fashion sense than Kim Kardashian ever will pretend to.

The Americans are pretty bad , granted , but you Commonwealth types are a plain caricature, a pathetic joke , since you lost your empire.

Anyway , before that it was the Commies, ( more about that in a moment ) and before that the Nazis , and before that Aborigines in the throes of Smallpox who couldn’t even fill out a football team .

And somewhere in all of that you manage to put child molesters and serial killers behind every tree , in case 70 – years – dead Nazis prove insufficient.

An expansion of police power is an objective fact.

All this other shit was bullshit window dressing.

A hundred years ago , seventy years ago , and today.

Power , power . power ! That’s the whole fucking story.

You may get a lot of these kids here to buy your crap , but you only embarrass yourself with me.

Power , power . power ! That’s the whole fucking story.

    I don’t think so . I fucking know so.

Now go lie to the teenagers you cheap hack , and pretend it isn’t so.

” this will have a huge impact on how you proceed for the next few weeks and months. ”

I may die , or I may not . And neither one of us knows which .

And , again , it doesn’t have a God damned thing to do with the expansion of police power you are actually lobbying for.

The doings of Elysianfield’s fucking friends has NOTHING to do with what I do or don’t do.

” The richest countries in the world aren’t dictatorships ”

You dialed the wrong number stupid.

I spent the first ten years of my life in the German Democratic Republic.

Granted , there is undoubtedly a strong measure of nostalgia , and of course mine where the experiences of a child , and only ten years .

That being said , you Brits , you Americans , you Australians , West Germans , and contemporary Japanese , calling yourselves

“FREE ” ( and not dictatorships ) would make a fucking cat laugh.

You are no more than serfs in gilded cages.

And as far as dictatorship goes , I’m not the first to point out that there is rarely a , ” none of the above ” choice.

Whether two people vote , or two million vote , some patrician millionaire , born with a silver spoon up their ass , will get elected regardless.

That really isn’t any different than the proviso that one has to be a member of the Socialist Unity Party in good standing to have a snowballs chance in Hell of getting elected.

Your bullshit elections are no more valid than ours were ,

or , if Trump was the real deal , a genuine upset , and expression of the Lumpen proletariat giving you the legitimate vote of no confidence ,

then , obviously , you hate and loathe the result of a free and valid choice , a level playing field and a game that wasn’t rigged.

” where do you people get your fears from? ”

Lol , what people ? East Germans ?

To be fair , I don’t think you were here when I covered this.

Surrounded by Soviet troops , and the Stassi , and the Berlin Wall , I never felt fear until I came to your vaunted free world .

Unfortunately I don’t have the time , or the desire , to write a truly epic wall of text explaining why you free – world – types blow so much fucking sunshine up your skirts it isn’t even funny.

Suffice to say , if you are free , then there is hope for every lab rat in Langley Virginia.

” The richest countries in the world aren’t dictatorships”

Sure , you spend at least five hours a day ragging on Imperator , Consul , and Pontifex Maximus Trump because it isn’t a dictatorship.

I have already given some clue as to why this is total laughable bullshit.

It certainly is a dictatorship , in spirit , if not in form , and if technically your Australia isn’t a dictatorship , then so much the worse.

You suck at the knee caps of tyrants. That is perhaps a thousand times more pathetic , disgusting , and contemptible.

That you kiss the assholes of tyrants , when , arguably , you don’t have to ?

” And to claim it is a “power grab” is plainly paranoia ”

News flash : Psychology is a fucking joke.

They lost whatever legitimacy or integrity they had when they became police stooges and informants for a little bit of money.

And a thousand aristocrats with gold – plated educations , and naive peasants , protesting otherwise , doesn’t gainsay the stark fact.

Your kind should really find yourselves a different tact. This particular one makes you look plain stupid , more than it serves to assassinate or undermine anyone elses character.

Also , an expansion of police power would , again , not be some sort of feeling in ones big toe , but an objective , observable , measurable fact.

Guys in funny costumes with guns showing up at my door to force me to do things , isn’t a feeling , opinion , or a psychological label.

I suspect you already know that , though , you hateful hack.

Just as GreenAlba knows there isn’t any religion so bad as to remotely compare to the shear power mad malice of atheist nothingness and humanist tyranny.

“I only know what she will find”

I would expect to find a vibrant (relatively young demographically), country and population that is coherent as a result of the shared adversity that is a constant. Many diverse voices, of course, but bound by a culture with a common theme.

“…Life changing experience is no joke.”

Find humor in everything…even the Old Testament.

Kesa seeks rationality and truth…that which is no more evident in Israel than it is in…New Jersey.

            Kesa seeks rationality and truth

Little do you know. Likely you’re so old you’ve forgotten, but we young souls all seek to get laid. She seeks love and true companionship and joy and sunshine and sea and freedom that you can breath in the air. There’s an innocence and a youth to that desire, and I sense that desire is still strong in her. Israel is an experience that energizes the soul. And that’s what she needs. That’s what we all need.

Plus I really like her. Anyone who is so sensitive that they can sense and feel oppression in the air, is someone I feel a strong kingship with.

Alba thinks that religion is just ideas and rituals, and regular emotional compensations. It’s unimaginable to her that people actually have real mystical experiences and awakenings from it. Why? Because she never did. And the idea that some have had things that she did not is simply unbearable to her.

I may even have had one, Janos. You’d be surprised. And don’t tell people what they can or can’t imagine in any case. It makes you foolish.

That’s the second thing you’ve claimed some people find ‘unbearable’. You were wrong the last time too. You really do need to do something about your projection issues.

They also highlight the importance of pathogen-discovery programs targeting high-risk wildlife groups in emerging disease hotspots as a strategy for pandemic preparedness.”

There are around 500 known coronaviruses endemic in bats. The number of unknown ones is anyone’s guess.

You can get the bat coronavirus information on Wikipedia under
SARS-CoV. No-one is hiding it, and it wouldn’t be there except for the various researchers.

“Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-1)[2] is a strain of virus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).[3] It is an enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus which infects the epithelial cells within the lungs.[4] The virus enters the host cell by binding to the ACE2 receptor.[5] It infects humans, bats, and palm civets.[6][7]

Are you calling the researchers evil for doing their research? I’m confused.

The US National Institutes of Health was willfully and deliberately funding research in China at the Wuhan Institute of Virology that involved the harvesting of dangerous bat corona viruses from bats in remote caves in Yunnan Province and then deliberately manipulating these corona viruses to give them “”Gain-of-Function”. This is bioweapons research. They were deliberately using the Chinese to create a bioweapon. God only knows what these psychopaths were up to?! It’s all there in the research grant proposals and the resulting published research papers.

“deliberately manipulating these corona viruses to give them “”Gain-of-Function”. This is bioweapons research. ”

Gain-of-Function research isn’t confined to bioweapons, Pucker, whatever was going on in Wuhan.

        • Pucker May 2, 2020 at 8:51 am #

According to the paper linked to, “Gain-of-Function” can be used to augment the transmissibility of natural viruses, or to augment the pathogenic capability (i.e., lethality) of natural viruses.

“ The first category, which he called “gain of function research of concern,” includes the generation of viruses with properties that do not exist in nature. The now famous example he gave is the production of H5N1 influenza A viruses that are airborne-transmissible among ferrets, compared to the non-airborne transmissible wild type. The second category deals with the generation of viruses that may be more pathogenic and/or transmissible than the wild type viruses but are still comparable to or less problematic than those existing in nature. ”

          • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 9:00 am #

I know what it can be used for. I’m merely pointing out that Gain-of-Function research doesn’t automatically mean bioweapons research, as it’s also used just to understand the viruses better, as well as in vaccinology.

Unfortunately, because of the wholesale debasement of traditional Chinese morality brought about by decades of Com..munism, the Chinese are such whores that you can pay them to do anything? You could probably pay the Chinese to produce a bioweapon that would wipe out everybody as long as they benefited personally and neither they themselves nor their immediate family members were harmed?

The US Government has not taken down this website yet regarding Gain-of-Function research.

Gain-of-function (GOF) studies, or research that improves the ability of a pathogen to cause disease, help define the fundamental nature of human-pathogen interactions, thereby enabling assessment of the pandemic potential of emerging infectious agents, informing public health and preparedness efforts, and furthering medical countermeasure development.

Gain-of-function studies may entail biosafety and biosecurity risks; therefore, the risks and benefits of gain-of function research must be evaluated, both in the context of recent U.S. biosafety incidents and to keep pace with new technological developments, in order to determine which types of studies should go forward and under what conditions

What is the goal of any human group that has no morality backing it up in its behavior. To win, to dominate, to be ethnocentritic and exert its power as much as possible. At any cost. To them killing a few people to gain power is a raison d’etre.

There is speculation that the recent arrest of Public Security Bureau official, Sun Lijun, was related to Miss Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. It seems that Sun Lijun was responsible for security in Wuhan during the outbreak and that he may have arranged for multiple passports to be issued to Miss Shi Zhengli at the Wuhan lab to make it easy to do her Chinese spy work overseas? Someone like Miss Shi Zhengli working at a Chinese P4 lab would be a very tempting target to be recruited as a spy by multiple foreign intelligence agencies. She would likely be a double or triple agent. Rumor has it that Miss Shi Zhengli has now fled China using one of the passports issued to her by Mr. Sun Lijun, which led to Sun Lijun’s recent arrest. Total Clusterfuck….

The Guardian article is basically a litany of “Experts” with terrible Conflicts of Interest who just repeat the Party Line that the Covid 19 is “natural”.

These “Experts” do not address the factual record based upon published research papers documenting that the virologists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (Miss Shi Zhengli) spent years gathering dangerous corona viruses from bats in remote caves in Yunnan Province and that they then manipulated these viruses for the purpose of Gain-of-Function (i.e., bioweapons research) and that this research was funded by the US National Institutes of Health. Therefore, the “Experts” conclusion does not follow from the facts.

Cargill, you just keep presenting a very narrow group of data to support your viewpoint. You are not going to convince anyone of your ideas. Yours are built in and so is everyone else’s.

No one is ever going to know what happened with this viruses startup. If the PTB that did start it up, or allowed it to escape, were to be exposed, nothing will happen anyway, so what is the point, other than the solution to the blame game.

Then everything will return to normal. One thing was not counted on, however, things are not going to return to normal and hopefully the PTB are going to be very affected by the post-plague High that is coming.

One thing I am convinced of is that the US is so screwed up now, it will not return to pre-eminence after the plague runs its course. Trump was the last hope.

Cargill, you just keep presenting a very narrow group of data to support your viewpoint. You are not going to convince anyone of your ideas. Yours are built in and so is everyone else’s.

Excuse me … I’ve linked to precisely one article – the Guardian one above – to try to bring some balance into the discussion. The people cited in that article are as least as credible and expert as anyone else who has been quoted or referred to.

Yes – I think it was (is) a naturally occurring coronavirus (novel, but not especially different), and that its entry into humans from bats was accidental, whether it was directly or through one or more intermediaries.

And that this would have happened even if a research laboratory were not located nearby.

I don’t believe that the virus is a bio-engineered one that ‘escaped’ out of the lab.

And I am very dark on the Chinese leadership, for all the reasons people have listed, but mostly (a) their cover-up of the disease outbreak for the critical first weeks, and (b) their lack of diligence in running a decently hygienic protein food chain is shocking.

I know there are long-standing cultural factors involved, and that there is still a lot of poverty, but there should be aggressive measures to stop wild food practices, and to clean up the domestic food animal side as well.

International pressure on both these fronts should be intense – embarrass the fuck out of them.

This document lists the experiments which are risky from a biosecurity perspective, many of which were conducted at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (at the order of Dr. Tony Fauci by his mule Dr. Peter Danszak) to supposedly “understand” the pathological potential of novelle bat-borne coronaviruses:

    Enhances the harmful consequences of the agent or toxin;
    Disrupts immunity or the effectiveness of an immunization against the agent or toxin without clinical or agricultural justification;
    Confers to the agent or toxin resistance to clinically or agriculturally useful prophylactic or therapeutic interventions against that agent or toxin or facilitates their ability to evade detection methodologies;
    Increases the stability, transmissibility, or the ability to disseminate the agent or toxin;
    Enhances the susceptibility of a host population to the agent or toxin;
Generates or reconstitutes an eradicated or extinct agent or toxin, such as the 1918 Spanish flu virus, which incidentally has been achieved but under strictly controlled conditions.

    • Cargill May 2, 2020 at 1:18 pm #

Not sure what document is “this document”, but clearly the claims of “gain-of-function” research by the Chinese, in Wuhan, at the request of, and financed by, the US, and it got out (accidentally or not) … this is so incredible that you would want to see lots of evidence that it happened that way.

I prefer the Guardian version … when it’s a choice between the obviously probable and the wildly complicated improbable, take the former.

If you see a see a 6 foot banana and the other bananas are 6 inches, then is it probable that the 6 foot banana is natural? This virus in question mutates 3 million times faster than other viruses and attacks all of the organs and blood in the body at once and jumps between multiple species, what does that look like to you? Throw in the Gain-of-Function research on bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the NIH funding, and the blanket denials by conflicted “Experts”, what does that look like to you?

        • Janos Skorenzy May 2, 2020 at 2:08 pm #

Remember though, the Spanish Flu was worse as was the Bubonic Plague. And both H1N1 and Ebola are more deadly, though perhaps not as contagious. The the previous two were both more deadly and contagious – but still completely natural.

This is not to say you are wrong, just that you haven’t proven your case conclusively.

          • Pucker May 2, 2020 at 3:27 pm #

Based upon the preponderance of the evidence standard, it’s a bioweapon. Probably also a bioweapon under the Clear and Convincing Evidence Standard. It’d probably be a slam dunk if one sequenced the virus’s DNA to see if it was spliced together, but I wouldn’t trust a government lab to do the sequencing test.

        I like that!

The power balance in DC is partly based on the fact that both sides agree not to pursue punishment for the other sides ethical transgressions. The Deep State would self-destruct if someone showed up that would actual try prosecution of the creeps on both sides.

Then Trump showed up. Every punch possible has been thrown at him to try to stop the process. It has worked. He is totally ineffective at cleaning up the swamp. He is currently the caretaker president of a dying country.

Which is what Biden will be in the fall as the increasingly Liberal, debt ridden society Eats their future up. Biden will take office and the ethnically and financially bankrupt nation is going to collapse around him. It makes no difference post plague.

Maybe it is fate that will make the Left take the blame for the final collapse under Biden.

The Wall such as it is is a joke, even to the extent he has built it. Contraband can be passed thru the slats and it can easily be scaled or knocked down. A fence with barbed wire on top would have been better. He made a big deal about how a professional climber told him it couldn’t be climbed. A professional climber then showed his daughter climbing it in a few seconds. Then he asked for the NAME of the climber who told him it couldn’t be climbed. Just crickets of course. It was a lie. Look at the Walls Israel builds….

And nary a word ever about the plague of Legal Immigration. In fact once he even promised to legalize the illegals – cuz the eocnomy is so good! That was the old George Bush Jr ploy. Thus we would get the worst of both worlds and parties.

So speaking of renewable energy. It looks like the industry is taking a big hit from the economic shutdown. I wonder how the industry will do in the coming months and years? What if the massive economic growth that has been required to prop up investment in renewables all along simply never comes back in the same way? This is happening while investment in fossil fuel sources have been cut for a long time. How long will the grid hold up in an extended depression?

    • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 12:41 pm #

      Cut for a long time?

“But rather than being phased out, fossil fuel subsidies are actually increasing. The latest International Monetary Fund (IMF) report estimates 6.5 percent of global GDP ($5.2 trillion) was spent on fossil fuel subsidies (including negative externalities) in 2017, a half trillion dollar increase since 2015. The largest subsidizers are China ($1.4 trillion in 2015), the United States ($649 billion) and Russia ($551 billion). According to the IMF, “fossil fuels account for 85 percent of all global subsidies,”

      • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 12:42 pm #

I’m not shilling for windfarms or solar, btw, just calling a spade a spade.

        • BackRowHeckler May 2, 2020 at 12:50 pm #

That’s because we need oil. We don’t need windmills — which is 17th century technology and a total scam.

        • SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 12:58 pm #

So how many new coal plants or oil platforms have been built and opened up in the US in the last 10 years? Hasn’t most investment in fossil fuels gone to shale production in recent years? The oil glut will stop new investment in fossil fuel sources and could wipe shale out.

          • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 1:09 pm #

The main complaint about renewables has been about unfair subsidies – just pointing out that the subsidies are greater on the other side. How can you keep on ‘investing’ at the same rate in fossil fuels when fossil fuel resources are declining? Isn’t that why we’re on this blog site?

          • SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 1:30 pm #

Well that’s what I was getting to. Renewables have been receiving focus while fossil fuels are in decline. Now that much production is simply shut down and who knows what is ultimately going to happen to the economy how long before we have issues keeping the grid up? Like I said, the US has shuttered a lot of fossil fuel production over time and shale is in big trouble.

          • JohnAZ May 2, 2020 at 2:53 pm #

If you haven’t watched Planet of the Humans, do so. Subsidies, either side, are not even mentioned. “Green” energy generation will always be a single digit percentage source. The movie identifies intermittency as a no. 1 cause.

One of the clever points Gibbs uses is to go behind the scenes at Earth day concerts that advertise they are power by solar and finding out it is BS and gasoline generators are powering the stage.

Two solar fields were exposed by the people running them. A football stadium was filled with photovoltaic solar and the guy said that it would power 10 houses, ten. One concert had an array of solar behind it and it was capable of running a toaster.
The people on stage just out and out lied about their power source.

One thing that always bothers me is maintenance . Idiot managers are sold computers, solar, wind on a productivity basis. They NEVER consider what it costs to maintain the equipment or how long it lasts. All the Green stuff lasts from 10 to twenty years and falls apart. The film shows lots of examples. The spokesman’s conclusion was that cost wise, it would have been better to be fossil fuels from the start.

The most telling thing is the way the billionaires have taken over the Green industry. The Koch Bro’s are responsible for building much of the wind industry. Yeah, those Koch bro’s. Even the primary spokesman, Al Gore is featured in a lot of double talk about his interests in fossil fuels.

GA, I am actually incensed by the film. The hopes of millions for an energy future are so much billionaire BS. Moore always goes to the people actually involved in whatever he is complaining about, and this movie is no exception.

Oh yeah, Moore was the only Liberal that predicted Trump’s victory in 2016.

I LOVED the part where it talked about the Solar plant outside of Las Vegas as I posted about that very subject.
They never even got into the part where the sun beams that powered the steam plant literally cooked birds in flight tens of thousands of them a year until it was shut down.
Best thing that has happened to wild life in that area was the day that billion dolllar turd was taken off line.
Now it’s just a big puddle of toxic waste fraud and abuse.

“One thing that always bothers me is maintenance . ”

It has always bothered me too, JohnAZ. Given that it sits atop a fossil fuelled economy and depends on it, I only see it as leverage of the remaining recoverable oil, and something to buy us time. A few decades, possibly.

You seem to continue to misunderstand my view on the matter, no matter how many times I try to clarify it.

Most of the arguments I have wasted my time getting into on climate change haven’t particularly lauded renewables, just seen that they have a place. Mostly what irritates me is the notion that because renewables are seen as (a) not a panacea (they aren’t) or at worst (b) a scam, the fundamental problem of AGW isn’t a thing. But it is.

And the priority remains that we consume (much) less and transport what we consume (much) less far. That, it seems to me, fits in with the main thesis of this blog. Except that the main thesis of this blog is that those two things will happen whether we like it or not (inevitable, I agree). It’s just that we could have bought ourselves a softer landing had we not waited for it to happen anyway.

Have you seen Moore’s documentary? That shit ain’t gonna save us. Coal will save us – the animals that survive will become darker to blend in. Even the snow will be black!

As they said in one of those horror movies on Saturday morning, “The creature was created to live in a polluted world. When the rain came clean he couldn’t live.” The movie showed him dying in the rain. Before that he had been stalking the blonde….

          Is Thwack the creature?

No. I haven’t watched it yet. Honestly I’m torn about it all. On the one hand I appreciate so much modern conveniences and technology. But then, another part of me wonders what it would be like to live in a more pristine world. Sometimes I wish it would come back and the cars and lights and concrete would disappear. But probably like in most things it would be best to find some sort of happy middle. I hope the snow doesn’t become black. And its ok that the coal isn’t white.

          • Janos Skorenzy May 2, 2020 at 4:43 pm #

Don’t be too flexible. I’d rather snow be black and coal be white than for you to agree to testing and tracing protocols as you did above with Tusc. As a woman, you naturally want to please so you sometimes “become the other person”. Lucky them! But what of you? What of you? Where are you then? And are you really you? Don’t give up your own center – for only there can the Will of God be known.

I’m frankly shocked at his capitulation to this cognitive status quo. Please don’t go down with him. Or even if everyone around you goes down. It will come, if not now, then later. Save yourself and your children and teach them to save themselves as well.

Since we see lots of anti white racism here I thought this was a good reminder about what is really going on. It’s true. Black and brown lives really do matter. White lives are expendable and will be expended to promote the replacement in all areas of society. These are the predominant views and values of the secular, liberal West.

    • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 1:20 pm #

Far left groups (if that’s what they are) attacking a grooming-gang victim are as obnoxious as people defending the grooming gangs.

Jasmin Alibhai-Brown (a Muslim) who writes for the Independent, has written copiously on the religious, racial and misogynist aspects of the grooming gangs, and doesn’t excuse any of them. She sees patriarchal, sexist religious attitudes for what they are, despite being a Muslim.

Honesty is there if you look for it. The Independent isn’t really that far to have to look, in this instance.

      • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 1:23 pm #

Should have said ‘excusing’ the grooming gangs, really. I haven’t heard anyone anywhere ‘defending’ them.

They remain a tiny proportion of the people who abuse young girls. The clever ones do it online and can be any colour. These evil men just happen to be more visible because they man the taxi ranks and the fast food outlets.

        • SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 1:34 pm #

Yasmin is likely an exception and not the rule. Though her open mindedness to the plight of native whites is appreciated. Human trafficking is a problem everywhere. Why exacerbate it with ethnic tensions and competition. If Western goverments really cared they would have never imported hostile cultures.

          • GreenAlba May 2, 2020 at 2:19 pm #

She’s not that exceptional. She just happens to be Muslim, which is why I mentioned her. I’ve produced lists of articles covering the report and condemning the way the victims were initially ignored by the authorities, in response to some very silly accusations that it got no coverage (the kind of thing you read in Breitbart).

But never forget that your beau on here insists women and girls lie and should not be listened to when making accusations against men. They weren’t listened to – because they were poor (-ish, anyway) and not the rosy-cheeked daughters of the comfortable middle classes. They were ‘troublesome’ and ‘problematic’. There’s another person on here who dismisses the testimony of such girls in a different context. You reap what you sow.

          • Janos Skorenzy May 2, 2020 at 2:22 pm #

Joe Biden said to believe women. Now he sings a different tune, as he is stalked by the hideous Tara Reid.

One Muslim Mother was enraged when her son got his White whore pregnant and there was talk of marriage. She got her way and she was put down.

          • SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 4:26 pm #

As if rosy cheeked, middle class girls would be valued above precious, necessary, and vital Muslim migrants demanded by the overlords. And the “poorish girls” weren’t listened to and were fed to wolves like the sacrificial lambs that they are. Yasmin understands better than you. It’s funny. Some people who say they aren’t listening are actually listening all the time. And some people who say they believe are just fakes and phonies who never listened a day in their lives.

          • GreenAlba May 3, 2020 at 8:47 am #

“As if rosy cheeked, middle class girls would be valued above precious, necessary, and vital Muslim migrants demanded by the overlords. ”

Please stop talking like a fool, SSL. You are right that the girls were abused and right that the men were both racist and sexist (primarily due to their religious culture). But that sentence makes you look extremely silly.

            “Yasmin understands better than you.”

She certainly understands a lot better than you. She didn’t say the Muslims were demanded by the overlords – that was your own made-up nonsense. Do you think she considers herself ‘demanded by the overlords’? Really?

Yasmin describes herself as ‘a leftie liberal, anti-racist, feminist, Muslim’. And is a founding member of ‘British Muslims for Secular Democracy’, so she couldn’t really be further from your position on anything much.

She was born in Kampala. That makes her one of those Ugandan Asians who fled here to escape persecution, not because any ‘overlords’ demanded her presence.

            Jeez, the ignorance.

          • GreenAlba May 3, 2020 at 9:01 am #

“Joe Biden said to believe women. Now he sings a different tune, as he is stalked by the hideous Tara Reid.”

The point regarding listening to people’s testimony is not to believe everything that anyone says. The point is to put away your prejudices, be they against poor people, rich people, white people, non-whilte people, people with nice accents and rough young girls being taken in by men for trinkets, then giving them a proper hearing. And considering that their testimony has the same value as anyone else’s unless you have actual proof that they lie.

There were two crimes committed against the girls – one by the grooming gangs and one by those who didn’t pay them attention when they spoke out. Both groups guilty in the matter had a bizarrely similar view of the girls.

“One Muslim Mother was enraged when her son got his White whore pregnant and there was talk of marriage. She got her way and she was put down.”

One (late) Irish Catholic mother of my own acquaintance was enraged when her son got his girlfriend pregnant. She was determined that her son’s life would not be ‘ruined’ and split them up. The ‘child’ is now a drug addict, even though the parents did eventually reunite despite the mother’s interference and years of consequent dysfunction.

The difference between your story and mine is that at least I know my story’s real because my husband told me about his relative, not Breitbart or Amren.

Note how Alba ignores the Leftist bias of Twitter and the other tech giants. The women complained and they simply ruled against her and for her online tormentors. This is policy. Bad behavior by Muslims and Minorities are shrugged off but they strain the gnat when it comes to Whites.

One White candidate for the NFL has to get rid of what is deemed an offensive tattoo – not racial but a hardcore patriot symbol. What about the tattoos on the Black candidates? Think there might be some offensive stuff there? No interest. Thus do they swallow the camel of Non-White racism.

      • SoftStarLight May 2, 2020 at 4:38 pm #

Yeah. It all validates her world views. It’s almost like certain treatment is even justified. Like its just karma so deal with it.

I heard about that. Justin Rohrwasser is his name and I think it’s the New England Patriots. Yeah the tattoo was supposed to be a three percenter symbol which is not tied to anything white nationalist but rather a patriot group simply desiring to preserve the US constitution and consitutional rights.

But just for the information, I’ve never used Twitter and can’t think of anything that would induce me to do so. And I have no illusions about ANY tech giants. They are neither left nor right, I’d imagine, however, just about power and filthy lucre.

Dirty money piling up in L.A. as coronavirus cripples international money laundering

“Dirty money is piling up in Los Angeles. In the last three weeks, federal agents made three seizures that each netted more than $1 million in suspected drug proceeds.

“The reason, according to the city’s top drug enforcement official: The coronavirus pandemic has slowed trade-based money laundering systems that drug trafficking groups use to repatriate profits and move Chinese capital into Southern California.

“With storefronts closed, supply chains in disarray and the global economy in peril, these complex schemes are hobbled and cash is backing up in Los Angeles, Bill Bodner, special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Los Angeles field division, said in an interview.”

    Nobody’s immune.

    • BackRowHeckler May 2, 2020 at 3:15 pm #

Elrond turn in your Ruger Mini 14, it is now illegal.

May I suggest a Henry Rifle lever action .45-70. … round goes back to 1873 but will still take down buffalo, grizzly, and any varmints on 2 or 4 legs.

Its is a piece of industrial art, a thing of exquisite beauty.

Made in Wisconsin and Bayonne, NJ, USA.

      • elysianfield May 2, 2020 at 3:40 pm #

Never owned a Henry…but I…know a guy who DID own a Marlin model 1895 in 45-70. Do you know that the 45-70 at one time was a military round? US Navy even had a bolt action rifle in the caliber…several single shot rifles, of course.

One Idiot even made a small production run of a revolver in 45-70…handled several, but never fired one

        • BackRowHeckler May 2, 2020 at 4:31 pm #

          Exactly right E.

.45-70 was used in the US Army Springfield 1873 until the Krag was adopted about 20 years later. I believe it was a black powder round back then.

Isn’t it remarkable here we are 147 years later and it’s still being loaded and guns are still being chambered for the .45-70. Now that’s staying power!

Do you think Elrond will be getting a .45-70 — Marlin, Winchester 1886, Henry, or one of those old H&R single shots? Now that he has to turn in his Mini 14?

        • BackRowHeckler May 2, 2020 at 4:43 pm #

          E. I’ve never fired a .45-70 but a few years ago I was at a public range and a shooter a few stations down from me had one of those newly made Sharps rifles, which was absolutely a beautiful gun. What a cannon! It had one of those old timey scopes on it — an expensive rig by any standards. Anyway I remember him telling me .45-70 was $3 per round; so you’d better know how to reload unless you were rich.

So it comes down to this: can Elrond afford a box of .45-70s? I bet yes!

Sam was a businessman but his brother was actually convicted of murder in NYC in the 1840s. He was sentenced to death but Sam and another brother helped him commit suicide in Tombs prison before the sentence was carried out. I believe Edgar Poe was interested in the case and wrote a short story based upon it.

“Nig Owl scores again. He is a Nighthawk! A Lion among Owls.”

The American system lends itself to such things.

In the UK, as I have told you multiple times, the Covid cases are wildly under-reported because of the lack of testing kits. Cases where the doctor is pretty sure it’s Covid but has no proof are being certified as ‘bronchial pneumonia’ and the like.

But I might as well talk to the wall.

And the UK is heading towards being the worst in Europe for Covid deaths, even with the under-reporting.

Finally, regardless of cancer cures and the lack of heart attacks and strokes in Ireland, as testified below, such things have not disappeared here. My brother is in intensive care in England as I write, having suffered a cardiac arrest 10 days after the death of his son, who cannot even be buried for weeks yet because such things are taking longer than usual, even away from metropolitan centres.

They didn’t ignore my brother – they sent both an ambulance and a helicopter, and they did it at lightning speed. Unfortunately, he is not in the ‘non-Covid’ part of the hospital (an aspiration rather than a guarantee in any case) – nor in the ‘Covid’ section (thankfully) – but in the ‘suspected Covid’ part, because that’s where the respirators are. So not ideal when you’re at your most vulnerable, but still very much a functioning hospital.

I suspect such things are happening in Ireland too, but you won’t read about my brother in the news either.

      • JohnAZ May 2, 2020 at 5:55 pm #

Good article. It concerns me for all of us that a large number of the infected folks cannot come up with a contact they caught it from. That plus the large group of asymptomatic positives tells me that mitigation only will slow the progress, Maybe. Controlling contacts will not work.

I can see a scenario where a slow continuing progression of folks are going to get it until not enough potential victims Exist to keep it from spreading. Hopefully, vaccination will work next year.

I have read many of your books and read your blog off and on, as well as listened to some of your podcasts. I will likely stop at this point as I am not sure if you are getting senile or just drinking too much kool-aide. Sure there is a lot wrong in our government and both parties, but this “deep state run by the Democrats” shit is too much. The vast majority of the people who run DC, the employees as opposed to the political appointees, have been there for a long time. Through both Democrat and Republican Administrations. They try to do their jobs as best I can tell. Sometimes they fail like all of us. However, to leap from there to all of this conspiracy stuff helps drive the wedge that is destroying our country. Maybe, we have reached that point where complexity has become too much and we need to fail down to a simpler model. That is one thing, but to incite division, which will lead to violence it too much and too far. I expected better from someone who used to be able to think. It shows how effective the propaganda can be.

    • Cargill May 2, 2020 at 4:45 pm #

Sure there is a lot wrong in our government and both parties, but this “deep state run by the Democrats” shit is too much.

I hear what you’re saying, and I really wish JHK would stick to the big issues of peak energy, resource depletion, the collapse of work, and the resulting financial / prosperity crises to come … but we don’t get to choose the topics that he addresses each week.

Personally I remain agnostic about the whole “deep state” meme. I worked in the (Australian) federal government for a lot of years (and in a controversial and politicised field), and the vast majority of us were career professionals. And while most of us were pretty “centrist”, everyone had their own political viewpoint, from conservative through to the left. I’ve always voted Green myself.

But anyway – we served the government of the day, as well as we could, because we knew we would outlast them. There were a few ‘political’ appointments at the top, but far far fewer than in the US system, where the incoming president makes hundreds of appointments. Seems nuts to me.

Anyway – I actually like seeing the stuff that JHK lays out on the establishment’s reaction to the prospect – and the horrific reality – of a Trump presidency. It’s probably the case that a lot of shenanigans went on in the last six months of Obama’s time – but that’s politics in DC … I don’t see why it should give anyone the vapours.

And in reality, James Comey saying just before the election that they were re-opening the Hillary Clinton file almost certainly cost her the presidency … and his squirming, pathetic self-serving post-hoc rationale was pitiful … he wanted to be seen as impartial.

So where I think JHK is deeply and utterly misguided, is that in the DC deep state, I suggest it’s overwhelmingly pro-Republican, pro-Wall Street, and pro-billionaire. The shenanigans to thwart Trump were not just a Democrat plot, there was a lot of Republican horror as well.

The fact is – after more than three years of really terrible and obvious crimes by this administration, the deep state hasn’t nailed Trump or hardly anyone else.

I think the same about the “mainstream” media that is attacked so virulently on here … they aren’t anti-Trump … they have bought so much into the “both-sides” ideology that they enable Trump every day … they make him a legitimate player, rather than call him for what he is (an incompetent, corrupt, liar).

They know where their bread is buttered – they like the access and the sense of power, and they like their ratings and circulation figures … so they just bite their tongue and keep it all smooth. Trump is teflon and he knows it … everybody is running scared.

But both he and Biden face a tricky six months.

Ooops, there goes another rubber tree plant.

Biden had a press interview about the allegations made against him, something Trump never has done about the twelve sexual harassment allegations against him.

Biden, slouching toward the presidency, said yes, Tara, let’s look at the complaint you said you filed in 1993. Tara is now backtracking, apparently not wanting as much transparency as Biden wants.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer who alleges Joe Biden sexually assaulted her 27 years ago, says she filed a limited report with a congressional personnel office that did not explicitly accuse him of sexual assault or harassment.

The older you get, the more it is likely creepy sexual harassment of some type or other had a negative impact on your life. This young generation is more “trained” against it. But older persons who are more likely to show up in November now that Bernie was ratfucked yet again will know what sexual harassment feels like, almost to a woman.
It was beyond common for women in the 60s 70s 80s and 90s to be molested, typically more than one, often at work. it was just how life was. Most men are “good”, but there’s enough assholes ready to exploit power and opportunity to go around for every woman eventually.
The gut-wrenching process of deciding what to do about it is no stranger to those older women either.

The Democrats are currently modelling the classic scenario that has kept women in a no-win Sophie’s Choice of Fear and Horseshit since time immemorial. Each woman seeing this will of course react individually, women are after all individuals and not a block.
But personally, watching Biden, the media, and the Party I had spent a lifetime supporting handle this makes me want to projectile vomit.

Really good, thoughtful and insightful post, WFS.

I agree (as a privileged white male) and can say that I have been pretty appalled all my adult life about how so many men in powerful positions have got away with it, and in almost all cases, the woman or girl has been punished, dismissed, or otherwise blamed for reporting the assault.

I don’t know where the Democratic Party goes now … presumably they will defend Biden because beating Trump on 3 November is way more important … I think they’ll try that unless and until it backfires.

Trump can’t say too much he has so much baggage himself … but it won’t stop him weighing in on the side of the women, I expect.

And what’s really disgusting is that these are the same people who insisted (quite correctly) that we must listen to and take seriously the allegations of Dr. Blasey-Ford. I was seriously thinking about voting for Dopey Joe in November, but this? It’s like every time our polity requires me to hold my nose to tolerate something, it comes back with, “Oh, you think that’s the foulest stench I can deliver up? Try this!”

How A Flu Season Was Mistaken for The Zombie Apocalypse
    Written by Paul Peele

In the hue and cry to do absolutely anything possible to avoid those deaths which might be hastened by covid-19, what about all the deaths and suffering which will be caused by a disproportionate overreaction to covid-19?

I’ll begin by stating the obvious. When vulnerable people are at risk of harm, most of us would willingly and keenly do our part to protect them. But the question not being addressed at all, is what actions are proportionate to the danger at hand and what course of action will do more harm than good?

Now that the necessary research has been done and published to settle the debate, we can finally talk with clarity about whether the cure was worse than the illness. And maybe even more importantly we can ask why a sledge hammer looked so much more proportionate than an Advil.

Dr. John Ioannidis and Dr Jay Bhattacharya (and others); professors of medicine at Stanford, have studied how many people actually had contracted the virus and recovered, in a given location (southern California). They have tested people for antibodies made by the body in reaction to the virus. The results of this study are described in this interview.

Now that this number is known we are finally able to calculate what the case fatality rate was.post mortem quote 8 GOOD

Media, public and health officials, and others have widely circulated rumors and projections (conjectures) that there were likely to be huge numbers of deaths, numbering at least several percent of the population and suggested quite possibly many times that. But in fact, the case fatality rate is likely much the same as the seasonal flu, which we see every year. Not one or two in a hundred but more like one or two in a thousand.

Every year many thousands of the frail and elderly die of influenza, worldwide. Some years are worse than others. 2017 was a bad year. Many people get a flu vaccination which might or might not help. Throughout human history, this has always been the case. Nobody is happy about it, but it’s always just been a fact of life. But because this is and has always been such a regular yearly event, it never makes the news. You’re sad when it’s your grandmother but we never heard much about it on TV. Every case of pneumonia was not headlined like a presidential assassination by media reports as proof of our impending doom.post mortem quote 7

But now all of a sudden, it’s different. Why??

We are now going through the greatest instance of mass hysteria in all of human history.

There have always been those occasions when great numbers of people went collectively insane as a group. Killing “witches”, hating and killing Jews are examples. Also, several groups perception of their own persecution, real or imagined, has led some to the enthusiastic mass persecution of others. But while humans are prone to collective insanity and it happens often, the present situation is of another order of magnitude entirely. This is the first instance of mass hysteria taking over the entire planet and every household.

Just a quick glance at a few features will suffice:

Hysterical media have convinced nearly every nation on Earth to lock their citizens under house arrest and forbid those citizens from making a living or arranging to feed their families.
They have convinced most everyone to allow the cancelling of all their rights and freedoms which it has taken millennia to secure.
They have convinced billions of people who grew up in relatively free countries to wait in long tedious bread lines for whatever few necessities they might still allowed to buy, as if we were all living in Russia or Red China.
People are being arrested or fined and harassed or publicly shammed for being on the ocean with a surf board, going for a walk in the country or on a beach alone, or driving too far.
No one is allowed to travel as if we all lived in Russian occupied East Germany.
I could go on ad infinitum. Many jurisdictions are asking citizens to rat on one another to enforce irrational and arbitrary restrictions.

I’ll suggest just a few possible contributing factors to account for this perfect storm of mass hysteria and how everything so quickly went off the rails.

First of course there were always human foibles, making us more prone to mass hysteria. Humans are pack animals. We like to fit in, belong and go along. We are afraid and don’t want to be the target of the mob’s actions. Most people don’t think for themselves so they go along, supposing that other people in a group consensus are probably right. A reasonably large percent of people also make excellent hypnotic subjects.post mortem pull quote

But there are also a large number of new factors to make us all the more vulnerable to mass hysteria.

One obvious reason of course is that covid-19 is new. You grew up in a world where the seasonal flu swept round the world every year, killing thousands and thousands of people. But what if you had not? What if there had never been such a flu and it just popped up now, killing the same huge number of people? Everyone would freak out and overreact. The novelty and uncertainty of covid-19 has provoked exactly the kind of reaction you might have if the usual flu had only erupted this year for the very first time.

Another reason is that for the past couple generations society has been infected with the post-modern philosophy which claims that reason itself is neither legitimate nor a necessary counterbalance to feeling. Today feelings are touted as the penultimate arbiter of reality. If you feel offended then someone else must be offensive. If you feel unsafe then you ARE unsafe and so others must accommodate you in any way you specify. In the post-modern world, hysteria enhances rather than weakens your credibility.

Most importantly to the post-modern, the traditional, loyal solidarity of citizens has been replaced by tribal warfare of identity groups supposedly at war for dominance over one another. Not that everyone always saw or treated each other as brothers and sisters before, but there has never been a time when adversarial in-fighting was so much taught and celebrated as a virtue. So, for all these reasons, being hysterical is now considered self-justifying and requires no rational basis.post mortem quote 5

Before this generation, Social Media was never a thing. Today with social media we can fan each other into a frenzy and coach each other to conform to the hive-mind better than ever before. You can be mobbed, fired, jailed, ostracized and driven out of the tribe for expressing a different opinion, better than ever before. Often by people you’ve never met.

This has created a society where virtue signaling passes for virtue and actual virtue or reason might be mercilessly punished, often by an anonymous mob, from the comfort and safety of their own bedrooms. Since the ascendance of social media, people are justifiably terrified of ever contradicting the hive-mind. There is an ever-present awareness that the hive might turn on you.

The world financial system has been so badly mismanaged that it is ready to implode. There are therefore many powerful people who would welcome some other explanation to blame the coming economic collapse on. It’s a big glass house just waiting for a brick. There are influential people who would love to be able to say; “It’s not my fault!” rather than having to say “Whoops!” instead.

The business model of traditional corporate media is in sharp decline. Newspapers are shrinking fast. The same applies to TV. The response from these extremely endangered businesses is to become the tabloids. They desperately need click bait that will sell. Hyperbolic drama and hysteria are the only life preserver they can cling to in the dark waters of oblivion swirling around them. They need to make you mad, make you scared, make you divided in order to keep you watching, keep you reading. To keep themselves employed, media NEEDS a catchy story. So, screaming, “You’re All Gonne Die!!!!” is a Godsend to them. It just doesn’t get any better than this! Selling panic is their bread and butter.post mortem quote 4

It’s also important to remember that both the seasonal flu and covid-19 mostly kill the frail, the elderly and the sick. So in other words, they mostly kill the same people. Therefore, these are not two separate columns of numbers but strongly overlapping sets. Both kill many people but since these two illnesses are competing to kill the same people, the total number of deaths will likely be far less than you would expect if you added the fatality rate of the two. People killed by either might well have been equally likely to have been overcome by the other illness or by some other pre-existing cause.

So, while it is still terrible that the vulnerable are now at risk of two illnesses; it is not twice as dangerous as it might at first appear to be. Also, since these illnesses mostly finish off people already at risk of dying, it is often unclear to what degree each of the co-morbidities were the cause of death. If you die while suffering from three or four illnesses, it’s more accurate to say that, rather than to just pick one and say that was the cause of death.

Politicians and public officials are just people. This new illness was full of unknowns. It’s likely that many public and health officials thought that if they did not assume the worst case and exercise an overabundance of caution then they would be blamed if bad things went badly. So they went hair-on-fire overboard to avoid any possible blame later.

Another sad thing about some people is that they like and enjoy having power over other people and exercising that power just because they can get away with it. Whenever there is a crisis, there is a tendency of some such public officials to extend and abuse their authority and to use any crisis as an excuse for that. Some people just like power and significance a bit too much to be trusted with it. So, there will be a tendency for such people to exaggerate any crisis and thereby create a bigger alibi for throwing their weight around.

A real health emergency will actually come along some day.

But one very destructive side effect of crying wolf so extremely is that if government and health officials ever need to be listened to regarding a REAL health emergency, who on Earth would take them seriously now? They’ve proven they have no idea what they are doing or what actual science looks like. Math models based on false assumptions have been advertised as science and they are not. Just waving some math models over a lot of conjecture doesn’t make it science. The only thing that might save us from the cry wolf syndrome is that public officials and media will never admit their fiasco and a hapless public may never know they’ve been had.

And then of course, there are the puppet masters. It’s an unfortunate feature of the modern world, that most of the world’s wealth has been allowed to fall into the hands of a few dozen people. I’m sure most of them are nice people; content to live their own lives and just leave me alone to live mine. But for that reason, we’ve probably never heard of most of them.

They are not the people I worry about. But don’t all of us know someone who knows what YOU should do and how you should live? Aren’t there people whose main purpose in life involves controlling and interfering with other people? Rather than focusing on their own affairs, a few people need to have MORE say over your life. They know what’s best. Their views and values count and other people’s beliefs and values are mistaken at best, and wrong, bad and awful at worst. Such people know that other people absolutely require the benefit of their supervision.

This affliction can range from the garden variety control freak who torments their own family to the petty bureaucrat who obstructs whomever they can reach. But the syndrome’s full flowering is in the entitled billionaire, for whom the whole world must change to accommodate his bottomless insecurity. Since this character trait is not that rare, then it just stands to reason that the obsessively competitive, driven and insanely ambitious people will occasionally have this same foible.

Rather than being satisfied with being completely free, some need to take away the freedom of others to feel complete. And in it’s most extreme form, this unfortunate personality type even includes those who only really feel one up when someone else is brought low. If I can make everyone else wait in bread lines then I must somehow be better than them, even if I am miserable.post mortem quote 2

So, if you happen to be a controlling billionaire, you would definitely not let a perfectly good crisis go to waste. You would do everything in your near limitless power to convince the world that they are in terrible danger; that drastic action is required; that we all have to make sacrifices to save the weak and the vulnerable. If you happened to own the media, public officials and the politicians, people would hardly notice that all your proposed solutions were things you’d wanted to accomplish all along. The ‘Plandemic” would be the opportunity of a lifetime. So much so, that a few have conjectured that the whole affair might have been orchestrated. I’m not so sure about that. But you don’t always have to know where a gun comes from, to see clearly what was done with it.

    Things like:

Let’s give unlimited additional wealth to those who already own most everything already.
Let’s try even harder to ban cash because it is dirty, filthy and carries disease. This is only “temporary” and it’s just a happy coincidence that this policy allows unlimited surveillance and control of your every transaction and location. Also, if you are REQUIRED to let them hold all your money then they can charge you negative interest for holding it or more fees for transactions.
Let’s track everyone using their cell phone to know if they are at risk of being near someone who had a germ. (Yeah, right!)
Let’s use ever more manipulations of, censorship of and control of the internet to protect you from hearing any fake news (dissenting viewpoints) which they don’t want heard.
Let’s take away any semblance of rights, freedoms or independent businesses. Desperate people make better serfs than uppity people.
I could go on all day but you get the idea.

And one question which has been deafeningly avoided in this melee is this:

In the hue and cry to do absolutely anything possible to avoid those deaths which might be hastened by covid-19, what about all the deaths and suffering which will be caused by a disproportionate overreaction to covid-19?

Endless fear mongering, confinement, poverty, isolation and desperation kill by many means which aren’t being discussed.

post mortem quote 9 GOOD 2

What about completely erasing everyone’s rights and freedoms that so many people fought and died for, so that we all live instead in totalitarian states more like Red China than the west. Do all those lives, all that suffering and poverty, all that crushing of people’s lives and dreams, count for nothing?

So there were powerful incentives for those who already own and control too much, to see a new germ as a golden opportunity to seize and control even more.

There is danger here. I agree with the tsunami of media hype about that. Mass hysteria has wrought untold harm all through history. But now we are more vulnerable to mass hysteria than ever before and there are nefarious forces poised to take advantage of that, to create a less beautiful world, which they of course will claim is our salvation. If you have either children or precious memories you might want to stop them. Overly greedy Bison hunters sometimes simply got bison herds to collectively stampede over a cliff. I’m hearing more and more stampedes lately.

But the creepiest thing is how everyone around me has that glazed-over look with the Kool-Aid dripping down their chin and no idea what I’m talking about. CNN hypnotically blaring in the background, behind their empty eyes. I feel as though I’m in one of those body snatcher movies.

JS: I know what you mean, Paul (a Canadian – the last human in that God forsaken land?), I know what you mean. Kudos to Sean Coleman: his fixation on hysteria turned out to be right on the money in terms of timeliness and importance.
