I was in the streets of Chicago in 1968 during the Democratic Convention. It was only a few months after Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King were shot to death. The “establishment,” as we called it back then, was all set to nominate Vice-president Hubert Humphrey who had started out in Washington as a Midwestern progressive firebrand but was now was broadly perceived by America’s hippie youth as a stooge and a sell-out to the evil forces running the Vietnam War.

I wasn’t exactly a protester, more like a proto-journalist, there to witness an epochal event. It was a wild three days with a lot of moiling in Lincoln Park and Grant Park, and finally out on Michigan Avenue the night of Humphrey’s awful apotheosis, where things got especially ugly and the tear gas canisters flew. But that was about it. Nobody got killed by the police, or vice-versa, and then we all went back to college (my SUNY school cost $500-a-year back then, by the bye). Nixon was the consolation prize.

Back then, it was in style to assassinate political leaders. Today it’s in fashion to assassinate police. It’s hard to imagine easier targets. Where trouble is brewing in the streets nowadays, there they stand: right out in front, easily distinguished in their uniforms. That was exactly the picture on the front page of The New York Times today: the thin blue line in Cleveland, where the Republican convention convenes this week to nominate the golden deus ex machina Donald Trump. There are few things in life one can predict with certainty, but given the grave events of recent weeks, it is hard to see how deadly gunplay might be avoided at the 2016 Republican convention.

Maybe the police will just decide to stay indoors and not present themselves as targets. Likelihood of that: not much. Ohio officials are talking about suspending the “open carry” law for the duration of the event. That would probably make for better “optics” than, say, an armed mob brandishing repeating rifles, but even if that law is suspended, it’s not hard to imagine people carrying weapons in a guitar case or a backpack. The killing meme is just on, like the deadly spirits that wafted out of Pandora’s Box.

Maybe it’s time for the Black President, Mr. Obama, to just come out and tell the black population that their grievances against the police are trumped up, shall we say: that Alton Sterling was not an upright citizen doin’ nuttin’ but a convicted felon carrying a gun, and that we still don’t know the facts about what Philando Castile was doing when he got shot in his car, and, well, he might just go back and shake off the fairy dust surrounding the Michael Brown (Ferguson) incident, the Tamir Rice (“toy” gun) incident, and all the other ambiguous situations of the past several years that have sparked the current crisis in race relations.

Otherwise, it’s beginning to look a lot like race war in America. Political and thought leaders have so far failed to conduct that fabled “conversation about race” that is such a phantom presence in the national life. It is apparently too painful to actually undertake. The pretenses about it have become ludicrous — for example Hillary Clinton’s recent utterance that “white people need to recognize our privilege,” and the fatuous calls to “come together.”

Both black and white America (especially “liberal” HRC America) might better ask themselves: why have we promoted the idea that blacks needn’t bother trying to assimilate into the nation’s common culture (such of it that actually remains)? This is what the idiotic “diversity” cult does, accompanied by the even more idiotic idea that “inclusion” is required for those who choose not to be included in that common culture. The damage from fifty years of these shibboleths ought to be obvious now. But emotions are carrying us past the moment of self-examination on any side. Perhaps that “conversation about race” can only take place after a greater convulsion, when people finally get sick of what their dishonesty has wreaked.

I’ve always wondered by what stretch of imagination leads one to believe that out of diversity comes unity?

    • DrTomSchmidt July 18, 2016 at 10:10 am #

I think the line is “diversity is strength.”

There is some truth to it, when trying to solve problems. If you have everyone thinking the same, then thoughts outside the prescribed zone don’t get mentioned.

The Democrats are typically the party of diversity, but they are about to take a VERY non-diverse step next week when they nominate a woman, Hillary Clinton. Since 1984, the Democrats have had two women, an African-American, an Orthodox Jew, a Son of Lesbian Greek immigrants, and a robot (Kerry) on the executive ticket, while the Republicans have run with all white men except for Sarah Palin.

Clearly, the Republicans have had the greater diversity, however. ALL Democratic candidates for President were lawyers, while the Republicans only had Bob Dole and Mitt Romney holding a law degree, the latter more usually recalled for being an MBA, like George W, Bush. Lawyers may come from different backgrounds, but they see most societal problems as things to be hammered with the law. We do not need more lawyerly dictating to us, the peons; I suspect that underlies both black frustration with the legal system, and now white frustration with the Federal government.

      • Cavepainter July 18, 2016 at 2:54 pm #

Its not an issue of people “thinking” alike or differently, but difference between ordering all consciousness around mystical beliefs as opposed to founding social order more aligned with reasoned examination of empirical evidence — (Western Culture, that is). At this time Western Culture is being pulled back into the Dark Ages by the diversity cult that chooses to “believe” that people living by 9th Century mystical beliefs are somehow miscible into a culture that has nurtured objective reasoning from the age of the Greeks.

Moiling. What a great word. When I read that, it made my galluses snap. Diversity only works when you have a small minority (of any kind) in your population. They are usually accepted. It’s only when they become a significantly large minority that the trouble starts. I refer you back to the 1960’s, when Europe looked down their noses at segregation in the US. Fast forward to today, & you will see that there is plenty of racism there. It’s because the minority finally got large enough to have an impact on the society. I’m not saying that it’s right, its just the way human beings are.

Moiling. What a great word. – Capt S.

        =============

Jim has used the word moil (in its most common dictionary sense) several times over the years but if you want a good laugh look up the Seinfeld Moil (also spelled Mohel) episode. This would be the guy who performs circumcisions.

A diverse diet is better than just always eating the same thing, I guess.

How are we going to avoid the future that is coming our way?

Racist or not, black or not, immigrant or not, police or not,

      this is a class struggle.

    • Pogo July 18, 2016 at 12:41 pm #

A compelling question, shotho. Fred Reed, the blogger at Fred On Everything, took a shot at it earlier this year. His opinion is “Diversity is by a wide margin the worst nightmare facing the US.”

      fredoneverything.org/diversity-a-civilizational-nightmare/

    • newworld July 19, 2016 at 12:29 pm #

I’m all for “diversity” I’m way past scolding blacks for what they might or might not do in life. I understand the author of the blog is a honest progressive that wants to continue with the social engineering but I find it mainly a waste of everything.

Besides what JHK I think is forgetting is that liberal whites never listen to blacks, never, they have a ready made script and that is where they stay.

  2. djc July 18, 2016 at 9:38 am #

    Great post today Jim.

The fact that Americans need to realize the narrative of the last 50+ years is not working and needs to be replaced is becoming ever more evident and blogs like yours do a good job of expressing that fact.

    • K-Dog July 18, 2016 at 10:19 am #

No he is not. He is a white American who had a black African father who enjoyed al the benefits of being born into a family with above average resources. Considering him black is racist.

Obama is a mulatto which places him in the Black camp. The standard for being White is inherently much stricter than for brown or black races. Not a damn thing wrong with that.

The group psychology for HEALTHY White populations features a low tolerance of encroachment by incompatibles. “Racism” is the CORRECT IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSE of the White body-politic. “Tolerance” will work as long as the incompatibles abide by the rules of their host body and do not cross certain boundaries i.e. mudsharking and loansharking.

However, the past 50 years have been an exercise in academic browbeating, cultural torture, and political coercion to force an alien mindset into Whites that DEMANDS they not only accept, but embrace, the unacceptable. Including the pollution of traditional White sensibilities and identities. The goal of such pollution has been achieved, unfortunately.

Even the ability to articulate a rejection of New Leftist social engineering has been eradicated. Hence, the psychological dissonance of knowing that White space has been violated but, we are forbidden to form the public narrative to express it.

Culturally, Obama is as White as I am.*

When, in his oratory, he has adopted MLK-like cadences or has, in strolling toward the first chopper, adopted a certain Black insouciant swagger, it is most certainly an affectation for political purposes.

        * Before I croak I intend to have one of those DNA tests done to find out just how White I am.

        • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 1:24 pm #

I read a review of those tests by a guy who’s really into genealogy.
He’s gotten slightly different results from three different tests, also they are showing a strain of ancestry that he isn’t finding in his research.
I was thinking about one of those as well. Like Fauxcahontas and many other Americans, according to family lore (but not cheekbones) we have Indian blood (yeah, I said Indian, feather, not dot) which isn’t evident in the family tree. I’d like to be able to confirm or disprove that.

          Q,
What is the definition of white? Don’t know, but you know it when you see it….

          • JimInFlorida July 18, 2016 at 6:42 pm #

What is the definition of PORN? It can’t be defined but, we all know it when we see it!

“White” is the general name for the Caucasian races, the obvious genetic signs, and historical customs. Typical groups include Anglo-Saxons, Celtic, Nordic, and those Slavs who have not interbred with the Mongols or Asians.

Jewish social engineering is designed to muddy up the gene pool and create mass anomie. Thereby making any distinction between Whites and black/brown races politically forbidden.

The targets are 90-100% White population centers and any self-identity that expresses itself. The process is atomization, destruction of race identity, promotion of mudsharking, and homosexuality. The end game is to leave high-level Ashkenazi and Zionist Jews at the top of the pile. Not by merit but by default.

    • Petro July 18, 2016 at 3:53 pm #

I always thought it was unseemly of him to mark his census form as black, as was reported, instead of “biracial”—which was a category that was fought for and finally included. I thought it was a slap at his white mother and white grandparents who raised him, took him on trips, helped him with his homework, etc. I believe he saw his African father exactly once, growing up.

But we get to call ourselves what we want, right? So who am I to say?

  4. pequiste July 18, 2016 at 9:56 am #

The dark prospect project has been brewing over the last 50 years since the administration of the demon president Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Everything he instituted was guaranteed to upset the natural progession of the Black civil rights movement in America.

Integration of the military and schools was difficult enough for the 1950s but was proceeding in a rather orderly fashion.

Mass culture also had function of being a social integrator. Black musicians competed favorably with whites in making popular music; professional sports was showcasing black athletic achievements. Cinema portrayed blacks as citizens of worth.

Now with birds coming home to roost of the massively failed LBJ Great Society – paternalism at its worst: Welfare, hand outs, competition from a burgeoning Latino population – the effects are clearly demonstrated in an alienated, angry, violent Black subculture.

This is reinforced by cultural industries – music, film. internet – that Black culture has been historically and continually victimized and the only response now is violence. See Ice-T infamous video Cop Killer among a ton of other anti-social expressions of hate.

Then to turbo charge the engines of societal decay we (business and government) had the fantastic idea to send all the manufacturing jobs overseas which had the effect of preventing any escape from the permanent underclass and destroying once great cities.

All this pathology may wind up requiring martial law to keep the lid on or Helter Skelter will be on.

    • shabbaranks July 18, 2016 at 10:12 am #

      Well said.

    • K-Dog July 18, 2016 at 10:32 am #

“Then to turbo charge the engines of societal decay we (business and government) had the fantastic idea to send all the manufacturing jobs overseas which had the effect of preventing any escape from the permanent underclass and destroying once great cities.”

And there was not a single peep from white America about the loss of manufacturing jobs until white collar jobs were also loaded into the global shipping container for export. Now ‘Trump’ appeals to a disenfranchised America who now experiences a taste of the same disenfranchisement that has been ladled onto black America’s dinner bowl for decades.

      • DrTomSchmidt July 18, 2016 at 12:32 pm #

I guess you missed the whole “Buchanan brigades” thing in 1992? That was lowercaste whites revolting against the patrician Bush.

I assume you’ve read the Archdruid’s Donald Trump and the politics of resentment, which makes the class struggle foremost in this election. If not, read an amazingly clear thinking survey of the Trump phenomenon.

Interesting, Trump has gone out of his way NOT to target blacks, while complaining about Mexicans. If he is able to take the 25% of the black vote that recognizes an appeal to the “unprotected” class in the USA, he will win in a landslide.

        • JimInFlorida July 19, 2016 at 9:41 am #

If Trump plays the New Deal card and couches his rhetoric in terms of class struggle, then he can tell Blacks that their problems stem from the loss of their factory and farm jobs.

As it is now, Blacks are being told that their civil right to marshal the power of the courts, in order to extract booty from alleged oppressors, is in danger. The “conversation about race” is nothing more than a veiled demand for Whites to unconditionally apologize and confess to every charge leveled against them. Of course, none of that will put one Black man back to work; making good union wages.

That’s how Trump has to woo the Black vote. White voters won’t object because they are no longer being targeted for a shake down. Whites may also benefit by the return of factory and farm jobs. A win for Blacks, a win for Whites, and the Top 1% has to cough up the difference. Plus, they WON’T be able to pass that cost down the line.

    • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 11:46 am #

      requisite, that’s good.
My personal observation was that things started to change for the worse around 1980. I know that MTV was a factor, with their decision to feature “real” black culture, i.e. misogynistic violent criminality. The odd part is, black people I knew were no more pleased with this than white people. MTV was a creation of the white-owned media, and white executives who made decisions about what to play were not drawing from any of their real-life experiences with black people. They did not know any average black people.

      • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 2:02 pm #

White? A few Jewish Billionaires own the Media and routinely show their deep animus against Western Culture. Try harder.

Obviously this situation has to change. We cannot survive with this narrow a range of opinions being presented. Media ownership has to be diversified with Anti-Trust legislation. Jews must lose some of their power if America is to have any future at all.

        • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 2:54 pm #

They ARE white. My point is that what is portrayed as black culture comes from white people who do not know any average black people, to the detriment of both black and white working and middle class Americans.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 7:37 pm #

So that’s why they present Whites, particularly White Men in such a horrible light, in both movies and advertising?

        • newworld July 19, 2016 at 12:32 pm #

You are more effective when in defense, much less effective when you go with the 1960s white nationalist offense/conservative talking points.

All white nationalists have done in America is drive white people away and make the ADL and SPLC richer than god himself.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 19, 2016 at 1:33 pm #

Well obviously the World is made out of lies and by always going with the half truths we have allowed ourselves to lead to where we are – the edge of a precipice.

Doesn’t it matter how people think of themselves? Is a blonde Muslim White? Maybe genetically, but in his heart he has no allegiance to Western Civilization. Same with the Jews: they simply don’t identify with us. In fact, they identify as against us.

Montrealais/Montrealer fascinated by the deconstruction of centralized government & authority.

La Belle Province has a curious history of being a grand colony of La Regime Ancien France and was conquered by Les Maudits anglais at the Battle of Quebec 1759 when Wolfe defeated Montcalm on the Plains of Abraham (both died in the engagement.)

Pierre Valliere penned a rather famous provocative book in the Sixties “Negres Blanc d’Amerique.” The French Canadians were treated as second class citizens in their own land for two centuries by Anglophone Quebeckers. Then came the Quiet Revolution with some over exuberance from the FLQ and Rene Levesque (quite the ardent nationalist and colourful politician.)

The Quebec nationalist movement is problematic for Ottawa and the Bloc Quebecois, the “national” party likes it that way – they get many concessions from Parliament
and the rest of Canadians don’t like it one bit.

Similarly, the states of the former Confederacy of the United States have much to learn about regional/cultural unity and getting strong politically in the national government with a regional party. It would work very well here in the USA I think.

Does Quebec deserve to be its own country? If the folks are willing to fight for it (economically/culturally/politically/militarily?) yes, sure – doesn’t everyone deserve their own country?
Quebec could be the “Switzerland” of North America.)

Problematic for the Quebec nationalist are the First Nations – Iroquois, Mohawk, Algonquin and Inuit nations (Indians.
) Don’t they deserve their own nation(s) too? Great peoples the Indians of North America – land claims for many Tribes transcend the current US – Canada border. Problem for Unkle Sam too.

The dynamic is multi-dimensional and the rich history of Canada integrates wonderfully with the modern nationalist movement. Love to keep my finger on the pulse of this ongoing low-level conflict, as it is among the most civil, indeed almost polite, in the entire world.

Montreal is a great town although a bit chilly in the winter.
          Quelque arpents de neige indeed.

          J’aime Quebec.

The real root cause of the “race problem” in the US is actually the same for most of the other woes of the country. Namely, that every problem or issue is seen as a “revenue opportunity” by the grifter class. Isn’t that the basic cultural problem we now have? We have financialized everything. I’m pretty sure “race relations” has spawned a vibrant “industry”. The last thing such an “industry” would want is an actual solution. Isn’t the “diversity industry” a form of the “race relations” industry. Every major corporation in the country has a diversity office of some sort, replete with staff and a project agenda requiring, more than anything, a steady stream of funds. The narrative of the past 50+ years has been in service to that, not addressing any real structural problems average black people really are facing. Many of these structural problems now face all of us, regardless of race, by the way.

    • shabbaranks July 18, 2016 at 10:18 am #

Race relations have spawned a huge diversity industry. Offices of racial and gender equity, masters degree programs in “community redevelopment” etc, etc, populate America. Layer upon layer of government spending is added to “fix” the problem.

      • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 11:53 am #

The race ‘issue’ is used to keep the Higher Ed racket afloat. They only get away with charging more than anyone can afford by keeping up the narrative that black Americans need special help in affording college because of the rigged racist system. It’s rigged all right, but not in the way people think.
Look at the behavior of those SUNY students on the CDTA bus, and worse, look at the behavior of the other students AND the administration when presented with an obvious and unbelievable lie.
None of those dopes belong at any college. The girl who clearly had one white parent at least made a tearful apology, but the other two evil violent brats are sticking to their story and making the public pay for a trial.

Race since its use by the plantation owners has always been used by the rich to divide the 99% against each other and thus distract from the fraud and robbery by the 1%.
      Glad to see that noticed!
We all suffer from the endless Wars costing $1 Trillion per year, Peak Oil and Limits to Growth, the relentless and increasing ravages of Climate Change. Hey guess what? A global warming induced hurricane swamps ALL boats! Including the weatlhy’s yachts!

It is too bad that the disenfranchised are picking the wrong target. How messed up is it that a black ex-military type is taking out a black cop? They should be setting up shop in Manhattan, but I doubt they would ever get close enough to score. Only in the movies.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 2:08 pm #

Yes, the Bible says in the last days there will be Avarice beyond all imagining.

And the Big Corporations love diversity because they get the “pick of the crop” while others get the many dregs. And if you don’t play you don’t get government contracts.

AND the Diversity Cult is a prime means of social control of Whites. Get out of line and you don’t have a job anymore. So the people who could have reformed America were either put out on the street or afraid to do anything because of it, not just for themselves but often for their families. Europe is cracking down on an all ready draconian speech code: now people who say anything against Muslims may face jail sentences and not just fines.

It would appear that you are doubling down on your opine of last week, to paraphrase: “blacks have no legitimate reason to believe they are repressed here in the land of the free and home of the brave”.

I live in New York’s North Country roughly 150 miles North West of Saratoga Springs and I observe a very similar mindset in the folks hereabouts, today, to that which I observed when I was stationed at England AFB, Louisiana in 1965. I would find it very difficult to comprehend a huge difference in the mindset of the white folks down there relative to those up here.

    • James Howard Kunstler July 18, 2016 at 10:46 am #

Why did you put this in quotes?
“blacks have no legitimate reason to believe they are repressed here in the land of the free and home of the brave”.
You give the wrongful impression that I said it.
      I said no such thing.

Well, let’s give Ken Hall partial credit, he did say “to paraphrase.” There are many who don’t understand the proper use of quotation marks.

Further down the thread Gasman writes:
          “Idea’s have consequences.”

          (Quotation marks mine).

We see here an example of the mis-used apostrophe, a phenomenon that has occurred with increasing regularity. I first noticed it at a sales meeting in 1998: “Our’s.”

Indeed, a lot of folks have trouble with the difference between “its” and “it’s” and maybe this is the source of confusion.

It is not as bad as the use of nominative case following a preposition, typically buried in a string of nouns culminating in the errant pronoun. Shades of Robert Shaw slowly scratching his fingernails down the blackboard in Jaws! I am convinced this began in minor broadcast television markets and now has spread to the mainstream to our detriment.

I know some posters discount Q’s work as pedantry. I am willing to overlook obvious typos and even lesser flaws of ignorance but we must have standards somewhere, sometime!

Then again, I chanced to hear Michael Savage replaying a rant against rappers: “I know 50 words of English and I have $10 MILL in the bank…”

So maybe it’s all for naught?

          Or is that “its?”

So for the record, do you acknowledge a degree of repression and inexcusable police brutality — that has by some accounts been going on long before the advent of hand-held video and social media? And is your suggested response really a matter of conforming and otherwise “assimilating” into a mainstream culture that is led by a kleptocracy, run on fraud and is over-invested in a living arrangement without a future (and I paraphrase)
        😉

    • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 11:56 am #

Probably because black Americans aren’t repressed relative to them. Why do people look down on white people of the lower classes and then lecture the rest of us on proper mindset toward black people?

      • djc July 18, 2016 at 1:02 pm #

Good point. This is probably one of the main reasons Trump will win in November.

  8. K-Dog July 18, 2016 at 10:14 am #

With ever less to go around those who have been left out of the American way of life find they have little common culture worth assimilating into. Meaningful work is not available and the two demagogues of choice, Hillary and Trump have nothing to offer black Americans but more inequality poverty and neglect. It is not surprising that those with the most anger and the least impulse control at the bottom of the social pile now act out violently. If white America was as disenfranchised as black America has been in the last fifty years then violent attacks on authority by dim witted white nimrods would be happening in all 50 states every damn day.

JHK talks big about wanting to have a conversation about race but what conversation would he have exactly? It could never be a reality based conversation because then serious efforts would have to be made to return all the off-shored jobs which were stolen from black America back on to American soil. That won’t happen.

Black America was excluded from the globalized American dream and now there is hell to pay because of it. That is the honest conversation and it is a conversation far too honest for America to entertain. There is no mystery about what is really going on now unless one has an agenda to deny the truth and blame the victim. Black America is finding out about the ‘Long Emergency’ first-hand. They did not have to read the book.

When an adult lambastes and lectures a recalcitrant youth it can be called a conversation. It is an inappropriate label under the circumstances but no more inappropriate than the conversation JHK apparently wants to have with black America here.

    • James Howard Kunstler July 18, 2016 at 10:55 am #

K-Dog says: Black America was excluded from the globalized American dream and now there is hell to pay because of it.

The question I ask is how much blacks have self-excluded themselves in recent times. Last year I made the suggestion that teaching spoken and written English ought to be the first priority in public education. That’s part-and-parcel of preparing people to participate in the common culture. Of course, I was branded a “racist” for suggesting that.

      • K-Dog July 18, 2016 at 12:06 pm #

The question I ask is how much blacks have self-excluded themselves in recent times.

People of all colors come in all flavors. You are correct, they do exclude themselves in large numbers. Many adopt a victim mentality which is no good for themselves or anyone else. Many are also racist and their own blinding hatred maintains unhealthy exclusion. Those who harbor such views and behaviours are a bane on their more rational brothers and sisters who want a good life for themselves and everyone else.

Spoken and written English ought to be top priority in public education. Branding you a racist for suggesting that is totally irrational. Being able to communicate well is a cornerstone of any culture worth having.

Unfortunately we now live in a video age that will be with us until the lights go out. Because of this I fear the ability to communicate well is becoming a lost art. Perhaps the bombastic accusation against you for wanting people to communicate well is an expression of this sad truth.

I run across many Indian-born engineers who typically retain their names unless tres outré, in which case they just use “Mike.”

Interestingly given the discussion here the Brahmins view us white folks as somewhat inferior to them at least in terms of mathematical acumen if not depth of culture. Golly gee, racism!

As the Baton Rouge shooter so eloquently put it with regard to his brothers, “these Arabs, these Indians don’t give two fucks about us.”

But, the Brahmins have no right to cast such condescension on us as their own country of India has fallen FAR FAR FURTHER from the glory days of the Peacock Throne than America has fallen from the Happy Motoring days.

James, you are so right on the issue of language and whether Minorities actively self-sabotage.

I am a big believer in assimilation. That is how my ancestors succeed in America and even today it is key for minority groups.

We all have to do some amount of “go along to get along” for a functional society. As a gay man, I only succeed once I learned to “play along” with heteronormative world. That is how it works and has always worked.

Here’s where I agree with you: even as a minority and liberal… I find myself annoyed by “press 1 for English” and people that speak Ebonics yet want to be taken seriously.

Success comes to those that are not just intelligent but can manage reasonable social interaction. I’ve heard it called “Emotional Intelligence” to compliment raw IQ. The concept rings true for me.

BTW – Race war has been the end goal of many domestic militias for years now… maybe they will get their way now.

That’s the French mistake: to glorify their language above race and culture. Thus the imported all kinds of Blacks from Francophone Africa. Those people never assimilated and never will. Language is not the whole of culture and by no stretch of the imagination does it trump race in importance.

          • shotho July 18, 2016 at 8:16 pm #

Language is the basis of culture, pure and simple. Nothing comes close to importance in building a culture than language. A black man in France is well accepted if he can navigate the intricacies of the French language with ease.

          • JimInFlorida July 19, 2016 at 10:16 am #

Speaking French can no more make a Moroccan a Frenchman than me holding a $100 bill will make me an employee of the Federal Reserve.

The French language is an organic language that grew out of centuries of WHITE EUROPEAN experience, starting with the Roman occupation of Gaul and many concurrent tribal evolutions. Thus, French is a WHITE LANGUAGE and is the EFFECT arising from the racial CAUSE.

I smell a Euro-quisling messing around in France’s modern history. If you were to ask a Frenchman of the 19th century whether a black Algerian who spoke French was every bit the Frenchman he was, he would be quite insulted! This disconnect of the French language from the race that begat and nurtured it for centuries, smells like the unforeseen fruits of DeGaullism finally ripening.

        ==============

It is so obvious as to not require stating. Visit any High School cafeteria and observe the self-segregation. Black names, Black vernacular, different than White culture by conscious choice. To act White is an invitation for a beating.

Oh come on now! Blacks have been here for 500 years…
They gave us the banjo, rice cultivation in South Carolina, Jazz,
peanut butter, the incandescent light bulb,
Until the Civil War most of those blacks were enslaved until a brief respite after the Civil War until Jim Crow Laws and the Ku Klux Klan and its allies threw them to the back of the bus, to separate schools, parks and even water fountains until after World War II. After fighting a war against Nazis open racism the US finally began integrating the Armed Services.

A few years back while working as an EMT we went to an accident on the MA.Pike (US90) The young woman had slid off the road during a snowstorm crossing the Berkshires. The State cop on the scene name withheld (to protect the innocent) was A-American. The girl tells me “That a*****e stops me once a week as I drive home from work. He knew her car. I relate this info to the ER and it starts a shitstorm. I was interviewed by the IA div. twice. The guy skated and is still on the prowl for BLM members. It goes both ways with traffic stops.

  10. gasman July 18, 2016 at 10:20 am #

Idea’s have consequences. The narrative in the Black community is that they built the USA and that the evil whites stole the output of their labor. They invented everything from car brakes and peanut butter to blood transfusions and got nothing in return. Through an Orwellian twist of word definitions, whites are by definition racist and blacks are righteous and cannot be racist. These are either outright lies or half truths, however the hatred that large number of blacks harbor in their hearts towards whites is something that few whites understand. We are now seeing the fruits of these Ideas.

    • elysianfield July 18, 2016 at 11:35 am #

“the hatred that large number of blacks harbor in their hearts towards whites is something that few whites understand.”

      Gasman,
Whites fail to understand, and often to their peril. I have before mentioned, on this site, that the corrosive victimhood they embrace, and their hatred of whites is “learned on their mother’s knee”. This is not a recent development, not caused by the loss of jobs, or the highly publicized excesses of law enforcement…I saw the same thing in the 60’s…their hatred of whites palpable, open and unashamed. Nothing has changed in the last five decades but the quality and ubiquity of the weapons at their disposal.

      • Ken Hall July 18, 2016 at 2:10 pm #

I believe that you confuse the color of the skin of those who hate who the most. I was drafted and joined the USAF in Feb64, stationed in central Louisiana in Sep64 where I worked with and called my friends many black and Hispanic GI’s and I had virtually no contact with folks other than lily white folks until I entered the USAF. What I did notice was that many of the Southern white folks did not much cotton to white folks such as me, who spoke with a “Yankee” twang and in the mid 60’s they sure as hell did not much cotton to black folks unless you call forcing USAF military members, with families awaiting on base quarters, to live in segregated ghettos; pretty much as many poor black folks are treated today in the fine cities of the USA.

To this day many white folks living south of the Mason Dixon Line harbor intense dislike of “Northerners/Yankees” because they lost the US Civil War, which they started, and to this day they call it “the War of Northern Aggression” not the US Civil War and therein lies one of the major factors for their intense hatred of black folks because “THEIR” black folks, otherwise known as “SLAVES” had the temerity to turn on their fine and compassionate “OWNERS” and fight along side the Yankees. Now there is a message that has been passed from generation to generation in the South “those GD N’s helped those GD Yankees whip us and don’t you ever forget that!”

As soon as the US Army was pulled out of the South (1876/77) they started passing the JIM CROW laws which in effect brought slavery back to the South, via POLICE actions, for the next 85/90 years until one of their own LBJ pushed the Equal Opportunity, Equal Rights or Civil Rights Act through Congress in 1964.

I am certain there are black folks who do not like white folks but I would bet my life that there are a hell-of-a-lot more white folks who do not like black folks. Try an Einstein thought experiment and think about how your families concepts of right and wrong would have been molded had you as a white person been born into a family who had been purportedly given their freedom, from let’s say black folks, as the result of a War. Think about them effectively returned to slavery within 10 years a slavery to which folks with the responsibility and authority to correct same, denied the existence of for another 85/90 years. Think you would see things the same way you do today? Not likely.

        • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 2:24 pm #

The South had every moral right to leave just as Britain had the moral right to leave the EU. Britain also had the legal right. Some say the South had the legal right as well.

After the War, huge gangs of Blacks roamed the South looting, killing and raping. The White Southerners were laughed at by the Union authorities when they asked for justice. So they took matters into their own hands – and triumphed in the end with some help from decent men in the North who were horrified at the treatment they had received.

There is a lot of prejudice against Yankees in much of America. They won the War but lost the peace. Red America is the South now for all intents and purposes.

        • Florida Power July 18, 2016 at 6:24 pm #

“I am certain there are black folks who do not like white folks but I would bet my life that there are a hell-of-a-lot more white folks who do not like black folks.”

Not sure you’d win that bet, whatever “like” means, even if it were adjusted for relative populations. The fact is racism, or racialism, is innate. Can we begin our honest conversation with that axiom?

As for your History of The South,it’s a lot more complex than you think, and what existed in 1960 is gone with the wind.

        • shotho July 18, 2016 at 8:26 pm #

I was born and raised in Central Louisiana in the fifties and sixties and much of what you say is true of those times; the white racism was palpable and real. The era of the sixties and seventies was very painful for the white population and the residue of those times is still present. However, the strides that have been made by both races in overcoming prejudice all over the South is truly remarkable; probably something between races that has never been accomplished as fast and sure in all of human history.

  12. dweebus July 18, 2016 at 10:22 am #

There are a few balloons here that I think need popping.

First of, the idea that there is a common culture. There ain’t. There hasn’t been for a very, very long time. If fact, there probably wasn’t from the inception of the Republic, when a concious decision was made to bifurcate the society. On one end, you had the landowners, propertied men of means and a propertied merchant class who had the vote, who were “qualified” to direct the affairs of the nation. On the other were indentured servants (the dispossed vagrant commoners of Britain), black africans, and natives, and women. Mexicans were added later to the list.

The lived experience of those folk, both historical and present, is worlds apart from that of the suburban middle class family and the elite. They recieve very few of the benefits of late stage industrialism and bear most of the costs. The idea that they, whether they are trailer trash or an unban black, will buy into a fiction called the American Dream, work hard, and play by the rules, you know the typical bullshit, is laughable.

Even if Obama were to tell the black population that their greivances were trumped up, they would not believe him. Any cred he had with the black community would go up in smoke. He would be an Uncle Tom. Whether the individual incidents may be ambiguous, a common experience in the black community is to be yanked over by the police for “doin nuttin'”, regularly.

There is a hell of alot of historical baggage here mixing with current experience. Meanwhile the currents of our predicament (energy, evironmental degradation, finance) are bearing down on us like a freight train.

We are sitting on a crate of old, sweaty dynamite. An explosion may be a foregone conclusion.

    • K-Dog July 18, 2016 at 10:41 am #

Well said, the common culture JHK imagines is a culture which obeys and benefits from the social contract. As the social contract was never extended to disenfranchised Americans in the first place there is no common culture to which they can assimilate.

      • James Howard Kunstler July 18, 2016 at 10:58 am #

You are both incorrect to suggest there is no common culture and no social contract. It is tattered but it is still there. We are not living in anarchy, at least not yet. — JHK

        • dweebus July 18, 2016 at 12:22 pm #

          JHK-

Thanks for responding directly. If culture is the arts and intellectual achievement of a society, regarded collectively, please define for me this common culture to which we all ought to subscribe. Now, I ain’t a huge hip-hop fan. I swing more alt-rock and bluegrass, but my musical tastes are pretty eclectic, so I dabble.

Back in the day, NWA had the huge hit “Fuck the Police!”. Ice Cube wrote the song after they had been visiting out in front of the studio and got rolled up by the police, in front of the producer, for yes, doing nothing.

Contrast that with the nonsensical Toby Keith song “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue”. (popular with wanna be rednecks with $40,000 trucks) So these people may as well be screaming at each other across the Grand Canyon. Hell, they don’t even speak the same dialect.

As far as the social contract, the unwritten rule is th at if you abide by the norms of society, if you follow the rules, you get to make a living. That is simply no longer true. The post war era boom is long gone, constrained by depletion, globalization, and laissez- faire. Now, if you are born poor, whether in Casper, WY or Baltimore, you most likely stay that way.

The relief valves provided by welfare, education, and so on have been cut, and cut, and cut. The vaunted welfare reform shoved through by the neoliberal Slick Willy, cuts you off after a 5 year cap. Since most of the money is block granted, the lion’s share goes to shit such as “marriage classes” to placate the evangelicals, because, obviously poverty is a character defect.

So whether you are an Indian on Pine Ridge, or an ex coal miner in KY, or a black man Detroit, or a Mexican tomato picker in FL, poor, is poor, and no matter how many rules you follow, your still poor. So when the police pull you over again, search your car, frisk you, and are just generally a class A asshole (I think police academies have a class titled “Asshole 101: being a dick in any given situation) you might pipe off, you know, resist a bit. Then if you are any shade lighter than a brown paper bag, you go to the joint. If darker, there is a chance you get beat down or shot.

BTW, your suggestion that proper written and spoken English be taught is not racist. However, dialect is not a defect. Some of us are taught to feel that way, though. I speak in the vernacular of the white ranchers and oil field trash of CO and WY. My mother, a former speech pathologist, says I have a ‘typical Midwestern dipthong.” But I have learned to turn my dialect off in business settings. You know, to “pass”, to never mention my white trash roots in polite company. It is tiring.

There is a telling anecdote in Joe Bageant’s book, Rainbow Pie. I don’t have it handy, and I am too lazy to look, so I will paraphrase.

He was in a bar in Hollywood, had one shot bourbon too many, and overheard two upscale white professionals lamenting about how they could not find an appropriate mate. So being a little drunk, he asked them “Would you marry a girl from a trailer park in West Virginia?” Of course, they said no. The reason: “too many cultural differences.” When he asked them, if she were good looking, and really, really fun, would they screw a trailer trash girl from ‘bama, they answer was yes.

So as long as the underclass, white, black, or otherwise can service you (fucking, fixing your car) they are tolerable to the elites.

Otherwise, we are fucking zoo animals.

Now, what again is this common culture of which you speak?

” if you are any shade lighter than a brown paper bag, you go to the joint. If darker, there is a chance you get beat down or shot.”

Correction — per the African-American Harvard economics professor who investigated that notion and found that while the police are more likely to “touch” (cuff, beat down etc.) persons of color in fact they are more likely to shoot white people.

He intended to prove the opposite but the numbers, unfortunately or not depending on your point of view, do not lie.
He said it was the biggest surprise of his career.

it is so important a finding that the mainstream media has apparently deep-sixed it.

On his Reality TV show Trump immediately fired a guy who referred to himself as White Trash. Just one more reason to vote for him. Decent people have pride. Never trust a man who trashes his own, much less himself.

          • Cavepainter July 19, 2016 at 12:53 am #

Well, since you asked (and I’m grieved that public education has been so eviscerated of its foremost purpose — preparation of the citizen for the role of citizen in a democratic republic), the aim wasn’t to homogenize all into a common culture, but, rather, to instill principles of government whereby society could be ordered beyond tribal distinctions — bloodlines, ethnicity, race, etc., etc. It was an idea that had incubated for nearly three thousand in Western Culture. The argument for public education was that democracy couldn’t work without a citizenry educated to those principles and oath bound to uphold them beyond any distinctions, one to another, that could be made otherwise. I learned this in 8th grade civics class, 1951-52. The drafters of our nation’s founding documents were all students of the Enlightenment, and what they left us (and which now we’re giving up) is one of the greatest achievements of humanity.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 19, 2016 at 1:41 pm #

Cave: Obviously the Enlightenment was mistaken about a lot of things. As Aristotle said, You never see “Man” walking down the street, but only “a” man. And he is always something I particular, a Frenchman, a Negro, etc. Never “just” a man much less “Man”.

In trying to root out everything natural, the Enlightenment is at war with Humanity as per the French Revolution, Communism, etc.

Yes it is tattered and it is still there for most of us. Certainly it is there for you and I.

There are those for whom anarchy more closely expresses reality. The social contract does not extend to them except that sometimes nice people give them tents to sleep in.

I’m about to go to work and I will soon be driving in luxury enjoying Dolby surround sound and full climate control past tent camps of homeless in strips of greenbelt along the western end of I-90. I ate well last night and I’m sure many of those living in these tents without job or prospect of any better life did not.

The social contract extends to me. Does it extend to them? Are they all there because they all made bad choices or did some of them fall through the holes of our tattered social contract.

If so for them the social contract is not tattered. For them it does not exist.

          • dweebus July 18, 2016 at 12:42 pm #

And when said tents become an eyesore, and remind the nice folk of the untermensch within their midst, under the pretext of “public health” the Authorities roll in with the free Army Surplus bulldozers, Humvees, and APCs (courtesy of DHS) and clean ’em out.

Homeless belong in shelters, out of sight, out of mind, don’t ya’ know…

          • Mark Weiss July 18, 2016 at 12:50 pm #

Our political elite broke the social contract for these people.

            1) A generation ago these same people may have been working a factory floor.

            2) We had the semblance of a mental health service prior to Reagan.

            3) The War on Drugs has left many people convicted felons, with extremely limited options to provide a livelihood. The corporatization of the criminal justice service is a topic we need to speak more about here.

“Certainly it is there for you and I.”

See comment above on nominative case following a preposition.

“You and I” endure the fact that it is there.

Certainly it is there for “you and me.”

What I tell my co-workers is regardless of how many entities are in the string, be it you, v, w, x y, and z, etc etc etc, strip away all the others except yourself and see if it sounds right.

“Certainly it is there for I.”

        • shotho July 18, 2016 at 8:33 pm #

Right, if there wasn’t a core of common culture, I would not be able to drive and shop at my home away from home, WalMart. It’s going fast, but thank God there’s still something left. But, getting back to language, if some kind of common language beyond the most guttural isn’t restored, we’re in duck soup

          • dweebus July 19, 2016 at 10:15 am #

Boy howdy, if our common culture is rooted in big box shopping, we really are up a creek without a paddle, or as you put it, in “duck soup”.

Yes, language is important. But, in a nation as large as ours, so is dialect. It is unreasonable to expect, and I would say it is undesirable, for us to seek to purge our different dialects from our language.

Now, I would oppose a schoolteacher, in grammar class, teaching dialect (the ebonics movement for example). But if the same teacher was teaching a creative writing class, and you were writing a short story about a pair of roofers for example, I would expect him to discourage the students from having their roofers speak in the Queen’s English. People simply don’t speak that way.

Language is inherently emergent. It morphs over time. Sayings develop that are specific to the region or industry. For example, if I were to ask you get in the cargo bin in an aircraft, I would say “in the pit”. A ramp agent is a “pit bitch” or a “ramp tramp”. A lavatory service cart is a “honey bucket”. An air-start is a “bottle” or a “huffer” (as in huff and puff and blow the house down) depending on if it is a compressed air system or a direct flow system. Air traffic delays are referred to as “flow” and so on.

As I said, I am not a big hip hop fan. But the rapper’s use of meter, rhyme, and assonance is sometimes simply amazing, even if they don’t use words such as “moiling”.

So, yes we should teach proper English in the schools, and encourage its proper use in formal settings, a job interview for example.

But we should also celebrate the various dialects out there. They add to the richness or our communication IMO.

“The lived experience of those folk, both historical and present, is worlds apart from that of the suburban middle class family and the elite.” What “folks” are you talking about? Black folks? They don’t all live in the ghetto you know. Some of them even live in The White House, are paid millions of dollars as athletes, or own their own media empire. In the southern city where I live there are large black and prosperous suburban areas. And no, they aren’t forced to live there. Housing discrimination has been illegal for decades.
So, Obama shouldn’t tell certain people that their grievances are trumped up because they wouldn’t like it? Wow. I thought he was supposed to be a leader. What you’ve just described is someone who stokes people’s grievances and fans the flames of all kinds of animosities; Racial, class, etc. in other words a community organizer. The cultural divisions you cited at the founding of our republic haven’t existed for a very long time. Slavery ended 157 years ago. Jim Crow laws were repealed over 50 years ago. 2 weeks ago the Supreme Court upheld affirmative action for college admissions. Why is it that the more progress that is being made in these areas, the angrier some people get?

      • dweebus July 18, 2016 at 1:53 pm #

Wow! Your argument boils down to: Geez, LeBron James made buckets of money and Obama is president, racism and classism no longer exist.

Let me get my hip-waders on, ’cause you are as full of shit as an old septic tank.

What folks am I talking about? The underclasses of this nation. The fat, diabetic, 60 year old laid off motherfucker who greets you at Wal-Mart, the tattoted chick with the nose ring who cuts your kids hair at Great Cuts, the black kid who takes your nasty dishes away at the Denny’s, the Mexican who planted the hydrangeas this year, or any of the other throw away people who allow you to live in the lifestyle to which you have become accustomed.

Is that stoking class warfare? You betcha. But it got waged on us for years.

Fuck, now it’s payback time, and you guys cry crocodile tears and wring your hands about how unjust it all is. I rather think the Ancien Regime felt that way as the barricades went up, and the guillotine was sharpened.

But you want it to continue, right? I’d solve unemployment with one stroke: send all the illegals home. Then we could work on getting the good jobs back. Vote Trump or we’re just going to get more of the same.

Hillary wants a million Muslims. She may very well open the floodgates to the South as well. It’s a take down of Western Civilization. Don’t lose the big picture for all the details. Janos, I make a habit out of not engaging you, because fascism repulses me. But, just for the sake of fun, and against my better judgement, I think it is you who misses the big picture.

Race, and racial division is just a social construct TPTB use to keep the underclasses down and maintain their hierarchy. The thing they fear most, dearest Janos, is us crackers (That wasn’t fair, I just used the word to irritate you. Lack of pride, and all that. Never mind. Donald Trump is not bringing any jobs back! LOL! Americans don’t want to pick all the fruit and vegetables, for minimum wage, after all the illegals are deported. It is impossible to deport some eleven million people anyway. Get real.

          • Good jobs: local, sustainable agriculture

            What prevents this: illegal immigration

Short term penalty for correction: More expensive, possibly scarce strawberries from the 6000 mile oil-fed supply chain

Long term benefit- a sovereign and sustainable distributed agriculture.

Can you imagine a Mexico invigorated with 30 million citizens, freshly injected, with money, skills, and political cause? It could totally turn Mexico around.

  16. Walter B July 18, 2016 at 10:54 am #

First of all James, I have never believed, nor do I still, that the assassination of political figures back in the 60’s was perpetrated by the common man on the street, the “lone gunmen”, and neither did the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1976. Since the dawn of time, murder and assassinations have always been, for the most part, the work of governments themselves or political movements organized to replace existing governments. As far as I am concerned they are still the prime suspect for organized violence today. Why any ne’er-do-wells would target armed, organized paramilitary targets instead of the real bastards, the politicians, or even the unarmed populace instead is beyond my ability to understand. Especially when it always results in far greater assaults by those under attack afterwards.

Now that our sellout scumbag “leaders” have openly spit in the collective face of America by declaring themselves above the “LAWS” that rule us, the Common Folk, they are certainly going to need to disarm the American public lest we all finally take the impetus behind the 2nd Amendment for what it was originally intended. Never waste a crisis and create one if needs be is their openly touted mantra. Why should the sellout scumbag “leadership” NOT be considered the prime suspect behind all of this my friend? They have NO excuse which I would grant them or accept should they try to deflect the blame. Welcome to the end.

“Why any ne’er-do-wells would target armed, organized paramilitary targets instead of the real bastards, the politicians, or even the unarmed populace instead is beyond my ability to understand. Especially when it always results in far greater assaults by those under attack afterwards ”

      Walter,
The attacks on the Police now by those seeking “change” are motivated by the same logic as the assaults by the Black Panthers on police in the ’60s….and is exactly the same motivation as had Osama Bin Laden on 9/11. The rationale is to infuriate the targeted, and hopefully breed fear and loathing which would lead to over-reaction, and by extension, more foot soldiers led to the “cause” as a result of those excesses.

The puny “blows against empire”, as with drone strikes, will eventually see us undone…it worked well for Osama, and EXACTLY has he hoped it would…a nation bankrupted, freedom corrupted, angst and ennui in the land…CAZART!

      • Walter B July 18, 2016 at 12:16 pm #

Yes ef it all makes sense when we accept that these attacks are not by lone individuals but rather by organized, coordinated political groups, such as the Black Panthers as you so astutely pointed out. Not a big stretch either considering that we have a closet member of the Weather Underground sitting pretty in the Oval Office with Rodan waiting in the wings for her turn with us. I would say that we are screwed on all fronts!

        • elysianfield July 18, 2016 at 4:34 pm #

          Walter,
The lone wolf gunman often has been deftly manipulated by organizations with hidden objectives… news, social media, agent provocateurs…it was a law enforcement imperative during the civil unrest in the 60’s to have agents imbedded in the crowds, and at the periphery of the mobs, spotters with cameras to identify those “agents of change” who knowingly manipulated and steered the crowds towards their own agenda…those identified as such were deemed “enemies of the state”, and handled accordingly.

  17. dantesque July 18, 2016 at 10:56 am #

When it comes to emotional narratives… data: washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/police-shootings/

This could be read several ways. At a glance, it looks like blacks are shot out of proportion to their percentage of the population. The NY Times concluded, however, that blacks are LESS likely to be shot in that particular situation (the suspect, of any race, is considered a mortal threat to the police or others). nytimes.com/2016/07/12/upshot/surprising-new-evidence-shows-bias-in-police-use-of-force-but-not-in-s…

However, blacks are far more likely to be roughed up for all other offenses, which is a common experience shared by all blacks, which adds to the narrative of unfairness.

In general, U.S. police shoot way more people, and gun homicides are far more common, than any other country out there, which is the real story. But people, including Jim Kunstler who I admire, don’t want the complex story. It’s doesn’t emotionally resonate or fit into some “Zeitgeist” narrative about race relations.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 2:41 pm #

Wait, you’re assuming Blacks commit crimes and traffic offenses at the same rate as Whites, right? But they don’t. Thus all such ideas are undermined at their root.

They commit ALL crimes at much higher levels. ALL.

      • Walter B July 18, 2016 at 3:46 pm #

That is not true sir for the biggest crimes and those crimes with the most potential for bringing down entire nations are all committed 100% by white men like Lloyd Blankfein, Bernie Madoff, Ben Bernanke, Larry Silverstein and all of the US Senators and Congressmen. The fact that most of them make deals and “laws” to “allow” such crimes to go unpunished has absolutely NO effect on the criminality of these men, their illicit institutions or the financial Doom they perpetrate upon the rest of us.

        • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 7:51 pm #

Ah you admitted I was right. Thank you. As for those ones, yes there’s something to that. As the song says, steal a little and you go to jail. Steal a lot and you become King. But then the crime is no longer a crime, right? A set can not be a member of itself.

But I don’t disagree entirely. As Augustine said, without Divine Mandate, Kings are just brigands who made good. Much of human history reduces to such brigandage but not all of it. Nice to meet another person who believes in natural law at least, if not more.

          • Walter B July 18, 2016 at 8:56 pm #

Surely the key to life, the secret to happiness is not something a man takes from someone else but something that he finds within himself. Those who live outward and not inward will never accept nor achieve what can be had by such understanding and fortunately for those of us that do, they cannot take it from us nor stop us from achieving it either now, can they. Must suck to be them…

  18. Zoltar July 18, 2016 at 10:59 am #

Jim will persist in pretending that the issue in recent controversial deaths is that the black men killed were not model citizens. The fact is that cops are supposedly trained to deal with difficult people, and they have a variety of resources with which to do so, short of shooting them dead as a first resort. They could use Tasers, or they could retreat a safe distance and call in a dozen more cops with body armor, tear gas, tranquilizer darts, or whatever. Instead, these dumb-ass cowboys with a badge shoot first, and questions are not asked later – at least not by those empowered to discipline policemen.

For actual journalism on this issue I recommend Matt Taibbi’s current column for Rolling Stone, followed by his book The Divide.

For a lone gunman to undertake shooting a group of cops is a suicide mission, yet unmitigated police misconduct has persisted to the point at which black men are starting to be willing to martyr themselves over it.

As we have recently learned, Occupy Wall Street, despite an elaborate and explicit non-violent protocol, was officially designated as a terrorist organization by the FBI. Snipers were posted at OWS events and I daresay they were not issued rubber bullets.

You can bet that an army is in place, prepared for the worst, at both parties’ conventions this summer. It ain’t gonna be pretty.

Jim’s hand-wringing over black behavior doesn’t seem to be fixing the problem.. I suggest that the imposition of non-lethal methods of policing and crowd control would do a great deal more to defuse what has become one hell of a mess – if it’s not already too late.

    • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 12:07 pm #

Jolter, the issue I have is that these occurrences happen to white boys the same as black ones, although no one believes me when I say that, even when I give them the details and point out that some of the incidents used by BLM (which is a white-sponsored organization, btw, a person named DeRay could not organize his own lunch let alone a protest) didn’t happen or had nothing to do with police overreach (Trayvon).
We aren’t going to solve this problem keeping the narrative going that this is something that racist white cops are doing to black people. Maybe that’s the whole idea, as what they seem to be angling for by pushing this fiction is a national police force.

      • dweebus July 18, 2016 at 1:01 pm #

Though normally, I shy away from MSM, I recommend watching the CNN town hall hosted by Don Lemon on the policing issue.

One of the questioners was an African American police instructor from KC, I believe. He told the panel that if they thought there was no white supremacy on the police force they were outta their mind.

In his statement he mentioned that many officers had told him blacks were genetically predisposed to crime and had to be controlled by any means necessary.

If control is the goal, resistance is the response.

That said, many, many white folk are rolled up by the cops. We just can’t talk about it.

        • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 1:36 pm #

” I suggest that the imposition of non-lethal methods of policing and crowd control would do a great deal more to defuse what has become one hell of a mess – if it’s not already too late.”

      Zoltar,
The statement seems logical to someone who has never been in those violent situations. All police are trained in the incremental use of force…non-lethal to deadly. No department has a “shoot first” rule of engagement. Excesses occur as a result of a failure of training, or a collapse of judgment on the part of the participants.

Your solution is a bit simplistic…and what exactly does “imposition” mean? I would suggest that any of the readership truly interested in law enforcement methods to contact your local police department and ask to participate in a “ride along”…especially if you are near an “urban area”. Most departments permit civilians to ride in the back seat of a patrol vehicle for a shift or two.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 2:46 pm #

You’re still buying into the narrative. Yes, the Police are trigger happy, but that’s against all races. The media simply doesn’t make a big deal about Whites getting blown away by the ‘roid monsters. Or tased to death in cop feeding frenzies.

They create consensus reality by picking and omitting out of the sum total of all the data they have available. When are you going to take the Red Pill? The Media Masters obviously want a Race War and are working in tandem with Soros who funds BLM.

  20. Newton Finn July 18, 2016 at 11:22 am #

Sorry you chose to choose sides, Mr. Kunstler, and the wrong one at that.

Did you ever really feel the existential freedom of the 60s, the palpable sense of possibility, the better world struggling chaotically, sometimes violently, to be born? Or were you always an observer, even when the action was at fever pitch?

Do you really think we can “law and order” our way out of this? Didn’t we try that before, only to find ourselves back where we started? We’ve lived through the same flash of history, but life has taught us different lessons.

No sane person wants to see innocent cops killed, nor does such a person want to see cops kill defenseless people. Now as then, open eyes see both, the latter more than the former.

I see that. Interesting that anyone can pretend we can have a ‘conversation’ on the topic of race, when the script for the ‘wrong side’ has already been written. It will not matter what words come out of anyone’s mouth, they will be taken as forbidden violations of some code or other.
Donald Trump is a victim of this. I never heard him say he wanted to permanently ban Muslims. Look what he gets for daring to suggest a solution to the problem of Islamists coming here for the purpose of killing us – a call to violence against him and his supporters at the convention, because he is so, you know, evil and dangerous and racist.

        • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 3:06 pm #

Well obviously Muslims have to be banned and permanently so. Where did you get the idea that we have to allow immigration at all? We choose and we choose who and if we don’t need any, then the answer should be zero.

Islam is not compatible with our culture. Case closed. Trump know this but he can’t get elected unless he pretends. Just as Obama couldn’t have gotten elected if he was honest about how he feels about Whites. It’s all revealed in his books, but alas Whites were too deluded and self indulgent to pick up on it.

          • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 3:33 pm #

I don’t have any such idea as that we have to allow immigration. I can’t see why we buy into the Globalist propaganda that if we don’t allow some ‘kinds’ a free pass and benefits we don’t allow others, we are xenophobic racists. ICE should not discriminate based on national origin, but they do.

      • bentley12 July 19, 2016 at 7:21 pm #

You’re sounding very racist when you imply that blacks should just assimilate already! If only it were that easy. Most of the establishment has not wanted them to. Look at how they have treated with contempt the first black president.

        • JimInFlorida July 19, 2016 at 8:48 pm #

What’s wrong with racism, in the current political context? “Racism” is one of those buzzwords that gets used so often that the target realizes the politically-motivated meaning behind it and dismissed it for the B.S. that it is.

Racism is code language for, Whitey isn’t laying down any longer and surrendering to the propaganda.

Blacks would do better to take up Dr. MLK’s ORIGINAL mission, which is one of CLASS STRUGGLE for Labor Rights and Economic Rights. NOT social equality or to use Civil Rights as a siege engine to seize White property and invade White living space.

Labor Rights includes the right to collective bargaining as a lever against collective financial and managerial power. It includes the RIGHT to be paid on time and for all work performed. It includes the RIGHT to claim the job as a partial property holding in joint ownership with the business or corporate owner. Corporations have no moral right to fire their U.S. workforce and run away to the Corporate Plantations in China and Guatemala.

Economic Rights includes the right to defend oneself from arbitrary layoff when no misconduct on the job has been proven. The right to seek relief when unemployed and protection in old age. The right to be safe in your house and from fraudulent foreclosures. These are old New Deal concepts and ones that Black people should bring to the table. NOT THE RIGHT TO PREY UPON WHITE WOMEN or act like animals or walk with sagging pants or grunt ooga booga ebonics.

Dr. MLK’s last speech was to the Garbage Men on strike in Memphis; to get them decent wages and working conditions. He wasn’t telling them to integrate. Without Labor Rights AND Economic Rights, civil rights means NOTHING.

          • Elrond Hubbard July 22, 2016 at 3:42 pm #

“Whitey isn’t laying down any longer and surrendering to the propaganda” is code language for racism. Not very subtle code, either.

      Newt,
You suffer from a lack of perspective…a handful of police shootings, maybe less than 20 that would be considered problematic, but very heavily documented, over a year…in a country of 340 million people…with billions of police/citizen contacts occurring monthly. You should thank whatever God you believe in that you were privileged to grow up in an environment where the civil authority shows such restraint.

      • dweebus July 18, 2016 at 1:20 pm #

With all due respect, you really are prancing about the mythical Elysian Fields.

        I prefer reality.

So far this year: 465 police shootings. Not 20. That is about the number of police shot.

Granted, things are alot worse, elsewhere. They will most likely deteriorate here.

If police abandon restraint, and double down on violence, Katie, bar the door.

        • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 3:07 pm #

          • bentley12 July 19, 2016 at 7:26 pm #

Just because more whites than blacks are killed by police, it does not mean that more blacks are killed by the police as a percentage of their population. The narrative is valid. Now don’t be late for your Klan rally.

          • bentley12 July 19, 2016 at 7:29 pm #

I meant to say that more blacks than whites, as a percentage of their population, are killed by cops.

“So far this year: 465 police shootings”

          Dweebus,
Please re-read my post…”20 that would be considered problematic”. There will be hundreds more shot, but will not provide for a hue and cry as the shootings will have been deemed necessary and prudent…and if you think there are not hundreds of these situations that occur MONTHLY in our society, then you are mistaken. The few problematic shootings are deplorable, without justification, and will be prosecuted. A little perspective, please.

  21. JimInFlorida July 18, 2016 at 12:05 pm #

The entire underlying narrative of the “conversation about race” is that Whites must surrender unconditionally. It is just another way to extract a confession from Whites to renounce the sins they are inherently guilty of. The charge of “White Privilege” is straight out of the interrogation scenes of George Orwell’s 1984. They want all Whites to act like Germany and voluntarily submit to their alleged victims. A Room 101 full of Muslims awaits those who do not completely surrender. Even surrendering White and fair daughters to the Men of Darkness.

A more subtle and softer form of Orwell’s 1984-style of torture to Whites has been underway for 50+ years. With some adjustment to the original 1984 text, here how I think Orwell would parallel Winston’s torture for today.

“O’Bama tells Whites that they are to be cured of White Privilege and related mental fallacies. He combines the relentless logic of doublethink and the administration of bureaucratic insolence till Whites are reduced to confessing that White Ain’t Right. O’Bama points out that unlike the old persecutors of the New Left, Civil Rights, and EEOC Inquisition, they will not stop with merely extorting forced confessions. They break Whites by torturing them into loving their oppressors.”

My bad. I was referring to the MUSLIM invasion! The Muslims are in latest news and may well push aside the Jewish Victimization machine to become the new plaintiffs!

I have serious doubts about the “official” account of National Socialist Germany because that narrative is kept alive by a nuclear-powered propaganda machine.

Like nuclear fuel rods, the bashing of Germany and Whites in general must be R&R’d every so often. Even tired old anti-Hitler anti-German propaganda is just like spent nuclear fuel. It can be reused in new forms to inflict quick destruction or slow poisoning of White Christian organizations.

I’ll take the other side of the bet, this week’s event will be a nothingburger. Mostly these protests are astroturf with occasional outbursts by what we call on the white right a “vantard.”

And it is always staged, this week the plan could be for gays and lesbians to take center stage for this week’s “Flogging of the conservatives.”

And conservatives always show up for their flogging and they love it, it has become quite the racket for our conservative leaders.

    • JimInFlorida July 18, 2016 at 11:08 pm #

It all started with Reagan’s “Big Tent” strategy. Real Conservatism was blurred and made so fuzzy that it could mean just about anything.

The homosexual Log Cabin Republicans came out of the closet and went into the Big Tent. Zionist Jews came out of the Democratic Party and became crypto-Jews a.k.a. neocons, under the Big Tent.

Conservatives only know to worship Wall Street, The Rich, and Imperial Wars for Jesus. What else can post-Reagan Cuckservatives do but perform penance to their alleged victims, who felt insulted that the Big Tent didn’t do enough to invite them in?

The GOP was given its last chance to repent in 1992 and overhaul its Conservative mantra. The Prophet, Pat Buchanan, chastised the Party and delivered True Conservatism from the Book of the Culture Wars. But, they believed him not. The Republicans all shouted, “GIVE US BARABBAS!” Since there was no Pontius Pilate to urge the mob to reconsider their charges against the Prophet Buchanan, the Republicans took Pat and scourged him.

  23. newworld July 18, 2016 at 12:19 pm #

All this race baiting is to hide the fact that blacks are being shunted to the back of the Democratic party coalition, as was done in Chicago.

It seems that violence is all blacks have to fall back on politically, too bad for the white cops who might not be the political target just the bullet target.

  24. Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 12:29 pm #

I was fortunate to grow up in a time when we (me and my friends) weren’t ‘diverse’, we were just us.
I see a very different reality than I see in the MSM, even locally. Most black people I know just go about their business the same way the white people do, and the Muslims I see do so as well, unmolested by any “racists” that I keep hearing about.
I think that a lot of people’s ideas about race, especially Obama’s, are like The Blind Men and the Elephant. They simply do not know what they are talking about, getting their ideas from what’s on TV. TV is fake, folks. It is corporate owned, Globalist owned, foreign owned propaganda.
Does anyone else remember when Al Sharpton was going to “shut down Albany” during the trial of the police officers for the Amadou Diallo killing? What was evident at the actual scene was so much in contrast to what the media (in this case, Dateline) wanted to be portrayed that they resorted to stock footage of marching feet which they got from God knows where, because Al’s followers amounted to a few buses, more than half empty, of some street people who no doubt got paid to take a ride up to Albany. They couldn’t show THAT, oh, no. Al is a stooge of the white-owned media, bought and paid for, as well as a mob snitch and tax evader. He never was any kind of black leader.

  25. volodya July 18, 2016 at 12:35 pm #

The problem of lawlessness in the Black segment of the citizenry IMO is a mechanism with a lot of interlocking wheels.

One “wheel” is the deliberate fostering of identity politics, especially but not solely by Democrats. So-called multi-culturalism is one aspect of identity politics, a divide and conquer strategy of setting people of different racial and ethnic groups against White people, especially small-town and rural Whites. Everyone has a valid group identity, one based in historic and current grievance, and everyone has a culture to be “celebrated”.

Everyone that is, except White people. That’s the only group identity that dares not breathe its name, at least not without unleashing torrents of invective.

To Mr Kunstler’s point, is there a common culture? Of course there is, it’s the one that’s never spoken about, the one originating in the British mother country, it’s most visible characteristics being the English language, political institutions modeled on those in Britain, a thousand year English language literary tradition, common law, the Christian religion. You could go on. But the only unembarrassed keepers of that tradition are those most reviled by the bi-coastal intelligentsia and self-appointed thought leaders who deplore both the tradition and its keepers.

Is there a place in this world where a model of multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious group identities works? Sure. There’s Switzerland. But how many places are there like Switzerland?

Let’s look to Belgium, boring old Belgium, home to Brussels, the capitol of the EU, that bastion of high mindedness and enlightenment, but where French speaking Walloon and Dutch speaking Flem can’t stand one another. You don’t need a long list of the dysfunction of that place, you can look it up yourself. And then there’s Canada where English-French squabbling led to murders and bombings, martial law, referenda on secession. You can point to the Yugoslav bloodbath 20 years ago or Sri Lanka that just finished burying its dead or a multitude of other multi-ethnic and multi-lingual countries that dissolved in civil war and massacre.

Multi-culturalism is a model with tons of empirical evidence to discredit it. Yet it’s one touted by people that rattle on and on that they’re the ones that are all about “facts and evidence”.

But they’re not about “facts and evidence” are they? They never were. They’re all about their own power and their own wealth and their own aggrandizement. The strategy of dividing the citizenry among themselves is how they get there. “Multi-culturalism” is what they call it and Blacks are just collateral damage.

If one accepts the idea of Karma, then everything is proceeding apace as required by the rules.

Slavery was a very bad thing. Imagine how different our Karmic legacy had we never embraced it.

Ditto the trouble we needlessly stirred up in the Islamic world.

Ditto the trouble one brings upon oneself for any number of other vices.

The die is cast, now we await the consequences.

      • volodya July 18, 2016 at 1:03 pm #

So, by Karmic reckoning, Africans must have done something to deserve the Karmic consequence of slavery and a century of Jim Crow. Not to mention colonial exploitation. They say that South America imported 10 times as many Black slaves as the US.

Similarly, Karma must have required that Amerindians lose North and South America to European conquest.

Karma’s a bitch as they say. Centuries of enslavement and the loss of two continents is proof enough.

      • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 3:19 pm #

In other word, whatever happens is supposed to happen – as long as it’s something bad happening or about to happen to Whites. Right, Ev?

Karma is a very difficult complex doctrine. All PC must be left behind if one would understand it. As one Master said, inferiors are raised by association with superiors. That is the Law. If the association is exploitative, the superiors don’t share in the joy of work – and there will be payback. Thus is Black slavery to be understood.

Now that Black have been enriched, they must be sent away before they pay us all back by cutting our throats. The wisest of Americans, like Jefferson and Lincoln, understood that this is the only answer. They are too different to ever have a real place at our table.

Captain Beefheart said, “Everybody is colored. If they weren’t you wouldn’t be able to see them.”

This is so old, so tired and so unproductive. Concentrating on race, color (basically on human bodies) will never resolve anything and is a pathway to nowhere. Nothing constructive or evolutionary will ever come of it. Concentrating on differences is a losing proposition.

The people responsible for slavery here in the USA are all long dead and gone. No one in present time is connected to it or has any responsibility or obligations regarding it. You can’t be responsible for your antecedents! Plus, the only connection in relationship to them is protoplasm, not sensibilities. This is common sense. Get off of it.

We must evolve to a state where a person’s body, color, race, etc. are insignificant. Where people are solely judged by their values, thoughts, actions, contributions, creations, etc.

We are the Family of Man. We are all brothers and sisters. We must respect and admire each other for the amazing phenomenons that we are. We need to support and help each other to continue to evolve. We are not each other’s enemies. We are being our own enemies and this must stop or we will continue to decay as a race and will vanish due to our lack of integrity.

Yes, we had a lot going on to distract us from that, didn’t we?
Freddie Gray never had a chance in life, growing up in the Clinton/Bush era of Globalization. Nothing improved for him under a black president, no hope, no change, just stirring up racial grievances to distract from failures. Although failures is really the wrong word. You haven’t failed at something you never intended to even try to do.
The people who caused the problems are not going to solve the problems.

  28. volodya July 18, 2016 at 1:16 pm #

Beryl, there’s nothing as inflaming to tensions as the offshoring of millions of jobs and family livelihoods. The low-down scum that cooked this up and their minions in Washington then distract by stirring up racial grievance and so-called culture wars just by uttering words like abortion, gender neutral bathrooms etc. The real bizness though is about sacking the country, eliminating pensions, in short, enriching the rich and screwing everyone else.

In that sense, a very large group of White, Black and Hispanic and Amerindian have a commonality if interest. The trick is for someone to rally these people to their common cause.

You’re entirely correct, the people that caused the problems aren’t going to solve them especially because they have no intention of solving them and especially because it’s not in their interest to solve them.

Even Elizabeth Warren- if she really believed in the stuff she used to say she believed in, she would not be up there on a stage with Hillary. If Hillary was inclined to do anything about these problems, what was she waiting for when she was a Senator?
Now she’s (Hillary) is out there ginning up racial grievances, phony ones I might add. I would like to kick her in the teeth for that. She makes horrible remarks like most people don’t realize that schools are more segregated than ever. The reason most people don’t realize that is not because she is so much smarter than we are, but because schools most people attended are not and never were segregated, and she, like Obama and the rest of the political class, are out of touch with most people’s educational experiences because they send their kids to exclusive private schools.
Chelsea turned out to be a dunce anyway.

      • cbeard July 18, 2016 at 3:09 pm #

Could it be that I am actually that old. Beryl of Oyl states that most people attended schools that are not and have never been segregated. Born in 1955 the schools I attended were totally segregated until I was in the 5th grade. At first the integration was voluntary and not forced. There were only two black kids in the white school system, one boy and one girl. Both in my grade, room, etc. I don’t recall any problems, the upper class white girls took the young lady under their wing more or less and things went well. The young man was exceedingly outgoing, bright and friendly and well liked among most of our classmates. I believe their previous schooling in an all black environment was of good quality. Our schools weren’t totally integrated until I was in the 10th grade. From there it was a downward spiral. The quality of the education provided went down for black and white. The public schools my grandchildren have to attend today are dumbed down zoos. By the way, the young black lady went on to a career in social work, and the young man (now deceased) became a teacher.

        • Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 3:17 pm #

Segregation was an official policy. I grew up in New York, I went to schools with black children, so did my father, so did my grandparents.
Hillary claims to be a New Yorker. She seems to think segregation exists more today than it did then. It didn’t exist everywhere even when it existed, and it certainly doesn’t exist today.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 3:30 pm #

But it should, obviously. Natural integration is one thing, but segregation is the natural norm. To force integration was an outrage against the fabric of American Life. They didn’t give a rat’s ass about education, just quotas. Utterly ignorant and/or malicious people.

        • elysianfield July 19, 2016 at 11:37 am #

“Beryl of Oyl states that most people attended schools that are not and have never been segregated.”

In San Antonio, Texas, in 1960, I attended Robert E. Lee High School…not only totally segregated, but flew the Confederate Battle Flag, at the entrance to the school, alongside the US and Texas State flag.

The school has been long integrated…and now is referred to as “Lee High School”

      V.,
This is why I’m rooting for Financial Collapse as a ‘front-runner’. Sure, we see *all* the stages of collapse proceeding apace, but the deliberately manufactured fraud of the culture/religion wars won’t become apparent until the blatant reality of the class war is exposed by the impoverishment of damn-near everyone. Keep your powder dry for *that* existential struggle, ’cause that’s the one that will really tell the tale. (Although I’m becoming convinced that Frankiti’s attitude that humans don’t deserve the gifts they’ve been handed as the frighteningly ‘correct’ one. Brrr. No reason to obsess though, the Earth will abide and doesn’t have a need for us.)

Human life is very cheap at the moment, and it won’t be treasured again until there is a *lot* less of us. At that point, it may become possible to outline some common values again. …I’m hoping unmitigated greed won’t be considered a ‘value’ for our great-great-grandchildren (or farther out, if they should be lucky).

      • Frankiti July 19, 2016 at 8:16 am #

“Indeed, the Artist is no other than he who unlearns what he has learned, in order to know himself, and the agony of the Artist, far from being the result of the world’s failure to discover and appreciate him, arises from his own personal struggle to discover, to appreciate and finally to express himself.” -EE Cummings

Schopenhauer believed one could overcome suffering through aesthetic contemplation, sublimation; art.

Freedom and sublimation requires freedom from dogma and from all “truths” all assumptions, particularly questions about oneself, humanity, the human condition our reality in the universe.

The universe shall abide, nicely put.

Black men are dangerous. Everybody knows it but the drugged out whores who have sex with them because they supposedly have big genitalia. As if that’s the measure of what a man can provide a woman.

  30. Beryl of Oyl July 18, 2016 at 3:13 pm #

This is for dweebus, because there was no reply button after his comment to me. You speak in cliched politically correct talking points. There is really no point in telling you this, as you have already tagged me as a bigot for not letting some corporate mouthpiece like Don Lemon tell me what I may think, but the one Don was bringing up a report on the plight of the poor women crashing our border in droves. He cited an alarming rape statistic as a reason we should be more supportive and welcoming of the invaders. Donald’s natural question was “who’s doing the raping?” It is a logical question. We should let in droves of Central and South American women, at taxpayer expense, because they are pitiable rape victims, without mentioning that the men with them are raping women? I don’t want a bunch of rapists brought in to this country, ‘beaners’ is your word, not mine, and no they weren’t beaners.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 3:32 pm #

Yeah there was a 60 minutes sob episode about young men fleeing El Salvador’s gang wars. All very touching. But obviously the gang members are coming too. Silence about that.

    • dweebus July 18, 2016 at 3:47 pm #

      Beryl,

I used “beaners” for rhetorical effect. Is “Mexican Rapists” more palatable? That is the Donald’s term.

I was speaking specifically to the town hall discussion of police violence, which I felt was relevant to the subject you brought up, white kids getting pulled over unjustly by the popo.

You chose to employ the straw man, not I. I was not speaking the Central American immigration question, nor the rape issue vis a vis MS13. Then you employed that as a ad hominem against Don Lemon, who was not even the primary subject of the comment. The police instructor was. I thought he had an interesting POV.

If you are going to engage in such blatant logical fallacies, be prepared to be hit back, sometimes with admittedly imflamatory rhetoric.

“…no one can escape the fact that the great harlot of Revelation 17 is closer than we care to admit, for we all have two natures: fleshly and spiritual. In our lack of understanding, we all tend to identify with the flesh, saying, “I am of Adam,” or “I am of Israel” or “I am of Abraham” or [ I am White ] “I am of this or that denomination.” We think that if we can just identify with great men or organizations of the past, we can somehow escape the sentence of death (mortality) that comes with such fleshly genealogy. That is the great illusion, the blindness, the veil that is spread out over the whole earth.

  32. dweebus July 18, 2016 at 4:49 pm #

    @Beryl,

To continue our conversation, should you wish, you accused me tagging you as a bigot for not letting Don Lemon tell you what to think.

Pray tell, wherever would I have gotten that idea?

Oh, I know, and I quote:

“…used by BLM (which is a white-sponsored organization, btw, a person named DeRay could not organize his own lunch…”

Why, DeRay and not Bob, or Fred, or Sam? Can we quit being coy, now? The implication is obvious, an inner city black young man is incapable of organization, much less leadership.

If you wanna find the bigotry in the room, walk into the john and look in the mirror.

As to immigration, believe it or not, I am kinda on y’alls side. The US cannot sustain open immigration (legal or illegal) in perpetuity. But unless you propose a total ban on all immigration, and Fortress America, some folk getta come in.

It seems to me a girl pressed into “marriage” (sexual slavery) by MS13 in Honduras or El Salvadore (the technical term is not “wife” it is “bitch”) would be an ideal candidate, initially. Oh, and generally speaking, she borrows money from her family and flees via coyotes and La Bestia, under cover of darkness. Her ” Papi” doesn’t come with her, so you need not fear the rapist.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 8:06 pm #

Beryl is a woman so would go into the “Jane” but she can’t cuz there’s a tranny in there.

Juanita flees gang violence and then we find out she’s already pregnant with the bad seed. And her family has the right to be reunited so the Baby Daddy gets in and her parents too in the end.

You’re not on our side. Only Fortress America can save us not. Exceptions are the Road to Hell. Norms are what will save us. Holy norms and laws. The Law must be worshiped again as a manifestation of God. As David sang, Lord, teach us your statutes.

Lest we not forget the ancient story of The Tower of Babel? Or the idea of- divide and conquer. I agree with JHK, let’s start with a common competency. If it’s still true, even Sweden requires that citizens learn the language so all citizens have a better understanding of the culture.

    • Frankiti July 18, 2016 at 5:50 pm #

The Swedes also learn English and other languages something the retarded American populace refuses to do. Maybe if more Americans learned other languages they wouldn’t get so hung up on hanging on to the queen’s.

The acursed cross is coming off the national flag and shall be replaced by a green background with the three requisite crescent & star combos and a nice scimitar.

Go to Malmo in Skanestan if you even dare.

If and when America devolves economically along the path JHK proposes then long before the bottom is reached that “common culture” he speaks of is going to unravel in all sorts of terrible ways including violence against authority. Which makes his incessant forays into race relations a trip off into the weeds.

Soon enough if he is right many others will be visited by history the way black Americans have been and that includes not just the tatted and pierced up 20 and thirty somethings that make the old boy shake his head. It’s even going to hit those quiet upstanding New England Yankees of his ideal. A portion of who are not going to go quietly to the consul meeting hoping to work things out and it won’t include bowing down to police/government authority.

I’ll allow JHK is half right about ‘liberals’ and the failures of black culture but so what. That is all just a sideshow only tangentially related to the long emergency. If all those ghettos had disappeared because its residents had been magically transformed into a facsimile of the stoic New England Yankee we would still be screwed.

Here is something I read today that surprised the shit outta me: Ken Fisher, a billionaire money manager and longest running financial columnist for Forbes said in the magazine arrived in my mailbox this morning: “I actually see Trump winning………..”

It is important to understand that this has absolutely nothing to do with his personal ideology. He only mentions it as it relates to what he thinks stocks will do for the balance of 2016 and into the “inaugural year.”

If you are a careful reader and have a good memory you may recall that a year ago I reported that Fisher had done some kind of historical analysis (spanning more than a century of data) that told him the Democrat candidate (whoever that turned out to be) would NOT win the presidency.

So here we have someone who has remained consistent for a year and is waaay out on a limb.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 18, 2016 at 8:18 pm #

Yes, Hill has gone all in for Blacks and Black Lives Matter. Many will see this as I do: as unspeakably evil. Trump is the Law’n Order candidate. Blue Lives matter. Obama was asked to bathe the White House in Blue Light and he refused. Damning.

I can’t see any way that the nation can experience a meaningful shift without the mass media being diversified. The MSM has to be inclusive because what we have now at the mass level is complete bullshit. Even if you don’t like the conservative/Republican agenda there is nothing, strictly speaking, “truthful” about the rhetoric they control. It’s complete crap.

Why not? Ryan threatened to sue Trump. Ginsberg stuck her big nose into the campaign, an unprecedented display of inappropriate behavior by her branch of the Government. But I don’t endorse such things – just breaking up the Media to benefit the Nation.

Jim kind of reminds me of earlier American writers — John Dos Passos, John Steinbeck, and Jack Kerouac to name a few — who started out ‘on the left’ but later in life moved to the political center and in a few cases the right (Dos Passos, a former communist, supported Nixon, and Steinbeck actually manned a machine gun at 66 years old at Khe San, launching lead at the NVA. Kerouac became a right wing reactionary)

Hey, how are those Freddie Gray prosecutions going? I hope those cops get their jobs back, with back pay.

I think what we’re seeing now are the outlines of what a non-white majority USA is going to look like. It aint pretty.

Hemingway would have loved Steinbeck manning that machine gun, maybe with some jealousy, wishing it were him.

What would Hemingway be writing today, being the same person, born say, in the ’70s?

The times shaping the writer, the writer also shaping and reflecting the times.

What would Dickens have to say in today’s England, or Voltaire in today’s France?

I’ve been waiting for the “conversation about race”, but here’s the problem as I see it: As far as the left is concerned, it’s all about the feelings, and for the right, it’s all about the facts. Unfortunately, in the current political climate if the feelings are unsubstantiated by the facts, then the facts are not allowed to be part of the conversation.

    • BackRowHeckler July 18, 2016 at 11:34 pm #

You mean like the fact that the ‘Brotha’ shot in Baton Rouge had 27 felony convictions, was waving around a loaded revolver, and resisted arrest?

Why indulge yourself in such inconsequential details?

Hey, more cultural enrichment in Germany: on one of their vaunted railroads (clean and efficient, not like here in the US) a sainted ‘guest’, an Afghan refugee, went berserk and began hacking people up with an axe and a knife. Rest assured no German or EU elite were in the car getting hacked up, just ordinary Germans, the elite having surrounded themselves with armed security inside private conveyances.

It is very exciting in Russia now. There are plenty of opportunities for the development of our territory, a vast country with a huge number of problems. If you are a challenger, if you want to solve problems, not just whine that all bad, Russia is a country of great opportunities.

The most interesting thing is that while some idiots are trying to ban the Russian team from participating in the Olympics in Brazil, other idiots from the next door office are trying to arrange Maidan and Color Revolution in Brazil, which resulted in economic collapse, regular skirmishes in the streets of Rio de Janeiro, which fades into the civil war and environmental catastrophe in the Gulf.

The first day of the Republican Convention was a demonstration of the mass support enjoyed by Donald Trump in the Republican Party, and the enthusiasm which his name evokes among the Americans, seemingly demoralized by globalization, political correctness and crash of the social fabric of American society.

Attempts to organize a rebellion against him among the delegates convention failed in a most disgraceful way and the decisive role in this played a passionate speech of New York Mayor Giuliani (2:26:00)

    youtube.com/watch?v=muK65e4baz8

But the most important thing is that the convention has become a public trial of Hillary Clinton and her policy in Libya. In particular, from the rostrum it was told that the State Department deliberately supported terrorists in Libya, including Al-Qaeda and the Islamic state, which was the cause of death of the US Ambassador Stevens and his protection team, and Mayor Giuliani recalled hundreds of thousands of dead Libyans, death of which is on the conscience of Hillary Clinton.

But outrage of her brazen lies to society, the Congress, the FBI was so furious that I doubt her ability to forge the election results despite the coup and her seizure of the power. I just can not imagine that the people who cried and clenched their fists from speech of mother of one of the soldiers killed in Benghazi, who was brazenly insulted by Hillary Clinton, would reconcile with her victory, and most importantly believe in that such victory could be fair.

It may well be that the First Lady of the United States will speak with a distinct Russian accent. I do not know where she had picked it up, but her accent is not Serbian, but Russian.

If I die on the Russian Front,

Once again folks, had public education not been wrested away (pirated) from its intended purpose of educating all to the principles upon which our nation was founded, the structure of its government and the process of its operation on behalf of the citizenry (“of the people, for the people and by the people”) we might not be where we are now. You see, public education was enacted into being on justification that for a democracy to work the citizenry had to be educated to the role of transacting it through the process of elected representation. That too is why the legal process of immigration stipulates necessity of going through that education process. Well, that sure was sold down the river, now no longer is our nation’s destiny a reflection of citizen will but rather of how many illegal aliens choose to come here in disregard for our national sovereignty and the immigration laws that were enacted to protect the interests of the citizenry. Our nation’s form of government as originally conceived was one of the greatest achievements in the history of humanity, set to the purpose of avoiding all the tragedies inherit in human behavior otherwise. Its a set of Enlightened principles based on reason, evolved from ancient Grecian times, aimed at lifting humanity above the perpetual strife of tribal. allegiance. Now, we’re back to the Dark Ages.

Education in the US was a spotty affair, through the first half of our nation’s life.

It was generally local, and religious in bent. Fees were required. Most children were done by 8th grade. Unless you lived in the cosmopolitan cities of the East, the skills necessary for adult life, were sharpening tools, animal husbandry, understanding weather patterns, farming, wild plant foods, hunting, construction, preserving food and so on. Most of those skills were learned from Mom, Dad, and extended family and community members. School was unnecessary. From the perspective of the Eastern elite, it was undesirable. You did not want a bunch of educated farmers questioning the dictates of their betters. This would lead to nasty things like the Free Silver movement. Definately a no, no.

Post Industrial Revolution, particullarly, post Irish immigrant influx, we needed factory workers. Cheap factory workers. The goal then became to “regiment the masses” to be compliant little bees who came when the bell rang and didn’t question the boss. As well, the modern public school was a reaction to the proliferation parochial Catholic schools. We wanted kids loyal to the Constitution, not a Pope in Rome.

So while the proffered goal of education was what you say, the ulterior motive, often unarticulated, was to produce a group of compliant drones for the capitalists.

Now, post globalization, there is no need for them. It is any wonder that the suburban district is funded to the gills, with fancy swimming pools and state of the art science labs, whilst the rural or urban district is defunded to the point of holes in the ceiling, or books that are 10 – 20 years obsolete.

Yes, the Elightenment was a huge achievement. But, make no mistake. The Founders had a dark side. There was, and is, an American aristocracy. They will do whatever they deem necessary to maintain their control and privilege.

        @Cavepainter-

Case in point: the Electoral College. It was justified as a way to prevent a tyrant, such as a monarchist, from gaining power. But an equal, or greater fear was the people voting in a populist, someone like Trump or Sanders say, who would upset the natural order of things, in otherwords strip the elite of their privilege.

It is notable that Electors are party insiders. They are the elite. They are not bound to follow their state’s popular vote. The ultimate hedge against democratic ballot revolution.

      • Cavepainter July 19, 2016 at 12:53 pm #

What you’re stating is that within the human element there is always the more avaricious predisposed toward personal power and gain rather than oath bound loyalty to the common interests. In way typical to reasoned examination of empirical evidence (scientific process) our government was conceived with aim of averting the catastrophic outcomes that such inclinations of human behavior produce. We’re there now, back to blatant tribal warfare.

      • Janos Skorenzy July 19, 2016 at 2:45 pm #

Every culture has an aristocracy. Communists always have a very strong one, one that is hereditary and hard to get into to and not necessarily based on merit. That is the thing we should be shooting for after all, even if we can’t always hit the bullseye we may get prick near. Or at least not the miss the target all together as you are this week.

    • Janos Skorenzy July 19, 2016 at 2:16 pm #

The Greeks never imagined everyone was equal or should be voting. The best of the Enlightenment, men like Jefferson, understood this. But even early on, countless malicious people used to resentment of the Mob to tear down superior men and the Hierarchy – which must exist in this fallen world. We all want to excel, be it cabbages with the 4h, or becoming president. And men naturally pass on the fruits of their labor to their offspring – so there is no fair starting point. All we can do is make some social mobility possible, if quality is present. Trying to make everything completely “fair” just destroys natural society – and doesn’t even attain fairness either since the Revolutionaries just set themselves up in the same way, either by inertia or by design from the very beginning.

In violation of restating the obvious; Goebbels Skorzeny, you’re an imbecile.

Of course the Greeks expected everyone to vote!!!
In fact, everyone was required to vote, and more importantly, to serve, in the authentic democracy!!!

How do you not know this? No, more importantly, how do you pretend to know what Greek democracy was, and then blithely post a false statement belying your certitude.

We, in the US, do not have a democracy, we have a representative republic. With career politicians. Smoke and mirrors and you’re oh so confused.

        • Janos Skorenzy July 20, 2016 at 4:07 am #

It was a system of direct democracy, in which participating citizens voted directly on legislation and executive bills. Participation was not open to all residents: to vote one had to be an adult, male citizen who owned land and was not a slave, and the number of these “varied between 30,000 and 50,000 out of a total population of around 250,000 to 300,000.”[1]

Wikipedia, Greek Democracy. You ridiculous dummy.

Needless to say, most Greeks were aghast at the looseness of this system, including many Athenians, most famously, Plato. The system was unstable and ultimately canned.

          • Frankiti July 20, 2016 at 10:35 am #

Restating the obvious again… of course only those required to vote, the “citizens”, the classes required, was implied.

The lower classes fought for the restoration of democracy from the ruling classes every time it was usurped.

            History bears repeating. Nothing changes.
            The dynamic, dummy, continues…

The “citizens” were also required to serve. To serve in the government.
I believe Plato was most fearful of career politicians, people only skilled at getting votes. What we have in this pseudodemocracy.

And what of Plato!? From a family of plutocrats he ultimately couldn’t decide whether people should retire to the pursuit of knowledge or be ruled by an autocrat. He wanted the smartest, most educated, well I wonder what class these superior men come from…. the wealthiest, the plutocrats. How convenient.

Ultimately, he couldn’t think around the problem, the human problem.

He knew, certainly, that in any way shape or form, they just can’t be trusted.

And the dynamic, the push and pull is the reality…

            No solution.
            Never.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 20, 2016 at 2:30 pm #

You said all and I refuted you. Yes, I agree you probably knew better so the question becomes one of integrity. Why did you lie?

Plato was a tribal aristocrat. Those who conquer get the goods of the conquered. That’s different than Plutocracy or rule by the Vile. His people didn’t get what they had by trickery or scams, but by honest force.

          • Frankiti July 20, 2016 at 4:51 pm #

OK Wittgenstein, I said “all” in the context of an ancient slave holding, sexist democracy. The broader point, is that all of the voters were required to participate in both the voting and the serving. Like jury duty. When their democracy was conquered, they fought for it. When it was usurped, they, “they” being the non-aristocrats, the non “in” tribe, fought for it.

Plato, from what little is known, was believed to be from a family of wealth but not of aristocracy. In fact, it is believed that a relative of his was one of the string of 30 or so usurpers, cementing his family’s low standing. That would make his family plutocrats. Plutocrats are the families from wealth. Oligarchs may be wealthy, or of peerage, or of the right circles. You insinuate that those with power via wealth are vile, as opposed to the power via bloodline, or tribe, or force.

It is said that Plato became disillusioned with politics as he saw all politics as ultimately the pursuit of wealth.

That’s the honesty behind your force.

The whole Trump campaign is a scam and Melania is part of it.

“Questions about her education grew more significant Tuesday morning, following the revelation that Melania Trump plagiarized parts of her speech to the Republican National Convention from one that First Lady Michelle Obama gave in 2008.

That revelation on Monday raised the question of whether there was anything else Melania Trump hadn’t been entirely truthful about.

Slovenian journalists Bojan Pozar and Igor Omerza wrote in their biography on the former fashion model that she “became ? and remained ? a college dropout” after leaving the University of Ljubljana’s architecture school following her freshman year.”

Melania can steal her words, parrot Michelle Obama, and lie about being a university graduate, but Melania can never rise to the intellectual level of Michelle.

I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races; that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people, and I will say, in addition to this, that there is a physical difference between the white and black races which I believe will forever forbid the two races living together on terms of social and political equality. And in as much as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race.

A beautiful woman sitting alone in a Café, enjoying her coffee, the view, her book, the glances from the men, the jealousy of the women – you think this all comes cheap? That it’s “natural”? No friends, it’s the fruit of hard won victory nature and other men. And nature means our own nature as well. I mean she’s not going to enjoy sitting there if men barge in and sit down at her table without being invited. And then call her a whore if she asks them to leave. She gets to sit there like a princess, queen, or goddess because White Men have restraint and reverence for her. Of course women take that for granted now – and that’s another failure and defeat. She needs to revere in turn the men who made her enjoyment possible and who make it possible in the present.

Was the full moon yesterday? Because I had a weird experience yesterday. I’m a 57 year old woman who doesn’t get “hit on” anymore.

But yesterday I was grocery shopping at my favorite Italian grocery store–Lunardi’s. Very upscale place. I’m heading down the aisle and this blue collar dude with an embroidered patch on his work shirt “Omar” calls out to me and says, “You look especially pretty today.” I say thanks. He introduces himself and wants to shake my hand. Omar asks me, “What are you doing today?” I replied, “I’m cooking dinner for my family!”

It was so weird because this guy didn’t have a shopping cart or any items in his hands to buy. I think he was at the store to troll for MILFs. For the love of God…..he looked to be around 25-30 years old.

When I pulled out of the parking lot, I made sure no one was following my minivan home.

A couple of female Mormon Missionaries got on the bus. They were lovely. I literally felt a cool breeze of refreshment come over me to see attractive women wearing dresses. Women like this can be a harbor, an oasis for a man from the stress and heat of life. And of course, it takes a lot of work to look that good and be that good. That’s where we come in. You can’t expect a woman to be like that if she has a “career”. She just becomes a weak little man who dresses and talks funny.

The dark prospects of The Long Emergency and race relations are insidiously intertwined. Each is currently a dangerous, unsolvable, looming problem. Or rather, the real solutions that do exist are neither tractable or palatable. Only weak, ineffective measures are undertaken. For example, electric vehicles in the one case, affirmative action in the other.

As the population grows, things of course only get worse. The obvious occurs. Resources deplete more rapidly, and specific populations growing faster than others gain more power. Thus, blacks and Latinos will gain, whites will lose. Racial friction will inevitably increase.

Add enough domestic Islamic terrorism to the mix, and the edginess may fill the air with just enough gun smoke to allow at least a temporary venting of bottled up frustrations caused by unsolvable problems.

The only current answer? Cope. Dark prospects indeed.

Part of me thinks that we will all eventually mesh into the same color over a long enough time period if humans continue to move around the globe the way we do now.

The question should be what skin color gives the comparative advantage when only looking at environmental factors?

I am white and burn easily on one hand but I can also produce more vitamin D than a darker skinned person. Which one allows me to grow up, have my own kids and raise them before I die? I would just look at what happened to humans over many thousands of generations for the answer. Like it or not, your genes and the environmental affects on the body due to those genes matter over the long haul. People closer to the poles would naturally become white and the people near the equator would become darker.

We are all just a bunch of hominids that learned to use energy sources other than what our own bodies can produce. This is why I write in “human” on the other line when I am asked what race I am.

      • Janos Skorenzy July 20, 2016 at 3:33 am #

You don’t know much. Race is far more than skin color – try brain size and shape and hormone levels too. Those are far more profound, and lead to differences in IQ, ability, and temperament.

Gross physical differences too – like Black running and jumping ability. Why did you leave that out? Or thickness of the skull – good for living in primitive cultures where you’re liable to get hit with a club. Think all that’s a myth? If you do, you know even less than I thought you did.

  62. bentley12 July 19, 2016 at 6:53 pm #

Blacks are not able to “assimilate into the nation’s common culture” because they have been held down by racism by design. They were denied access to bank loans, decent jobs, the ability to acquire and pass on wealth, and are now being subjected to voter suppression and poisoned water. Try having grown up in impoverished neighborhoods with lousy schools and sub-standard housing because your family is poor and will remain poor no matter how hard they work. Now the white middle class is joining the ranks of the impoverished, and suddenly what blacks have endured throughout history suddenly becomes a campaign issue. See how difficult it is to assimilate when you are looked upon by whites, cops, and society as being suspect because of your skin color. This is the reality that blacks in inner cities especially are faced with everyday. JHK, as a beneficiary of white privilege, you are in no position to criticize the condition of race relations in this country without taking these facts of black life into consideration.

      Bentley,

All you say may be true, but your comment is one offered as an excuse for lack of success and bad behavior…I can accept the reasons for their dysfunction, and I can sympathize, but will give them no quarter for their crimes and acts of civil disorder…nor will I for any white or other person of color from similar circumstances who violate the law and customs of this country.

Assimilation is the path that must be chosen…the Koreans, Japanese, and Philippine immigrants to this country came from bomb razed, war torn, countries, where poverty and starvation was often the norm, and they assimilated and prospered…and they were all easy to spot in a crowd…short, dark skinned, wearing funny clothes, unable to speak or read English…The blacks I observed in Oakland in the 60’s were, for the most part, well fed, had cars and motorcycles, lived in conventional tract homes, had decent clothing,
were given free education through Jr. College, spoke English…why the disparity in achieving the American Dream? Before the 1950’s blacks were not encouraged to assimilate, and after the 1960’s they made a conscious decision not to…

It is the home of Rutgers Univ., Johnson & Johnson and the numerous facilities of Robert Wood Johnson Hospital and Medical School. NB has a new high school less than 6 years old that has zero White students. All the students are Hispanic and Black plus a few misc. The school is one of the most expensive built anywhere.

WHITEY was shaken down to pay for the school. J&J was definitely shaken down behind the scenes. All the private benefactors made a calculated decision to make grants today and use those grants as political fig leaves tomorrow. Of course, Uncle Sam was required to be the FIRST to put his Blue Chips in the pot before the others added theirs.

The cult of Mo’ Money for Education Cures All Problems requires ever increasing sacrifices and Whitey is required to perform greater acts of penance in that regard. Money is being sacrificed to avoid addressing the true nature of the problem.

Iron and clay don’t mix, no matter how much money is spent or how complex a machine you make to force the mixing. Yes, you can grind the iron into dust and make it as small as clay but, you end up with a worthless mixture in the end.

            This is called White Flight.
            And being taxed for blacks.

Notice the fat Black women with the children? where are the fathers?
            Who is paying for this?

          • Elrond Hubbard July 22, 2016 at 5:08 pm #

Q: “Rhetorical question: Whose money was used to build this school? ……..and not one White student attends there. This is called White Flight.”

Seriously, someone needs to explain this to me. Let’s say you pay a dollar in taxes, and happen to be a white American. That dollar presumably gets spent ‘somewhere’. Depending on the level of government involved, it might get spent on:

            – A settlement to the family of someone (race unspecified) shot by a local police officer because they reached for a gum wrapper.

            – A major tax break inserted into an appropriations bill at the last minute, benefitting a bank that happened to lend the governor several million dollars to buy a house and never actually required repayment.

            – A gold-plated bidet installed by a subsidiary of some defense sub-subcontractor at a fancy new conference center on Diego Garcia, an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean that is inaccessible to civilians. The bidet never actually gets used, because the conference center burns down several months later owing to sub-standard wiring installed by a subsidiary of another sub-contractor.

With these examples in mind, why is it so particularly heinous if it happens to get spent on a school attended by black Americans when the tax dollar was paid by a white American?

Most Blacks were smart enough to know OJ was guilty – they just loved seeing him get off. As for the murdered Whites? It’s Ok, they White and had it coming.

With attitudes like this, prejudice is reality and people will naturally avoid you and be justified in doing so.

      • JimInFlorida July 21, 2016 at 3:34 pm #

You have to go all the way back to the Mali Empire of the 13th and 14th centuries to find a Black nation that achieved the African equivalent of a full set economy, high arts, education, exploration, comprehensive laws, religious harmony, social and political stability.

Mansa Musa, feeling ghetto rich, went on a huge goodwill tour and pilgrimage to Mecca. He spent money as fast as he could to show off how rich he was. The massive giveaways caused high inflation everywhere he went. In the end, he spent all the wealth he brought with him and had to borrow gold from the Jewish moneylenders in Cairo at high interest to get home.

Mali was as developed as any European nation of the time and, the Giveaway Tour to Mecca (1324-1325) broke Mali’s back. It took another 16 years (four years after the death of Mansa Musa in 1337) before Mali fell into financial ruin and the necessarily stingy rule of Suleyman Keita.

Black Africa never repeated the epic achievement of 13th-14th century Mali.

England took Québec from France by England by force, whereas Haitians freed themselves from French slavery by their own efforts. Thereafter, the French were only able to exact vindictive reparations for the loss of ‘property’ (i.e. the Haitians themselves) from one out of the two.

“Before the 1950’s blacks were not encouraged to assimilate, and after the 1960’s they made a conscious decision not to…” –ElysianFields

“Not encouraged to assimilate”? What an understatement. They were encouraged to join the armed forces and fight Hitler, but when they returned and were civilians they were actively oppressed and murdered. The sign “Nigger don’t let the sun set on you” at the city limits where I lived was not an idle threat.

If Blacks held the power in media, finance, congress, etc., and you were being discriminated against, imprisoned and murdered by racist anti-white cops, how would you feel about being criticized for not “assimilating” into Black culture?

    • elysianfield July 19, 2016 at 10:09 pm #

      Wpac,
Understatement notwithstanding, I stand by my comment. If I were to be in a culture in which I could not or would not assimilate , I would expect to “take the hit” and either accept my self-imposed handicap, or move to a different venue.

Even though increasing racial tensions and police murders in the USSA are causing intense angst in this country – the entire world held its collective breath on Friday with the “attempted” coup d’etat in Turkey.

In the aftermath of it failing, President (sultan) Recipe Erdogan has had the authoritarian inclination to have a purge of anyone remotely involved with the Gulen movement ( yes, that same Yzlamik cleric with the substantial compound in Pennsylvania.) Last reports have over 18,000 military members, judges, teachers and civil service removed from positions and over 1,000 media outlets closed down. Nothing like a vigorous “democracy” being destroyed to save it from the dark forces of secularism.

I personally thought the main thrust of this weeks’ missive was going to be the threat of WWIII with the Turkish coup. Instead Erdogan has apparently engineered a very successful “Reichstag fire” and is in the process of having a Night of The Long Knives and instituting Nuremberg Laws all accomplished in one week.

Even darker prospects are coming from Asia Minor in spades.

We have all the technology and know-how to give up on the oil. However, the passionate greed of a handful of rich people to keep their billions does not let the mankind to make a step forward. We are with the Vatican! For peace and progress. For overcoming the fatal gap between the ultra-rich and the desperately poor. We are with the Pope – for scientific progress!

The second main topic – the legalization of drugs. Well, in a sense – the legalization of the turnover from the revenues. The UN still can’t hold a hearing. They promised in the fall of 2016. It is unlikely. Will they bomb Vietnam, or again, Afghanistan?

He whole global financial restructuring is around it: oil/gas and drugs. And oil is not needed already. Sanders announced. He should know.

But yesterday he was outdone by a governor of New Jersey Chris Christie.

You think that I do not like Hillary Clinton? Watch this clip from 3:54:00.

    youtube.com/watch?v=scO3ENmtYws

He arranged a mock lawsuit against Hillary Clinton. And after each accusation addressed the audience as the jury and asked: “Is Hillary Clinton Guilty?”

And the audience roared: “Guilty, guilty, guilty!!!”

Compared to him Hillary Clinton is my favorite person! In any case, it would never have occurred to me to accuse her of complicity with Castro, Homeini and of course, Vladimir Putin!

But he accused and the audience roared: “Guilty, guilty, guilty!!!”

And on a number of charges of spying for the Soviet Union and Cuba Chris Christie is very coherently presented version of her involvement in the abduction of schoolgirls in Nigeria, captured by the Islamist group “Boko Haram” and sold into sexual slavery in the best traditions of the Islamic state.

All the same, Chris Christie clearly got something personal against Hillary Clinton – I wonder if she’s behind the bridge-Gate!

Although he spent millions of dollars, Congressman Rick Lazio would lose the race, demonstrating how NOT to run against a woman.
“Cosby was a real asshole from the minute he hit town,” G.D. Please, please, please people,….the point is that the absolute most optimistic outcome for human survival is that it will be a very small number of current population, and that will be conditioned on (1) where remains a sustainable population to resource ratio, and (2) where national integrity (social cohesiveness) holds sufficiently to secure itself from the rising desperation elsewhere and the unmiscible hordes that will seek refuge from it. Those hordes are already pressing down on the US while among ourselves we dawdle with self aggrandized and purely fanciful PC notions of being able harbor the entire load. Get off it! We’d better recognize — and fast before our slim chance is squandered — that trans-nationalism, open borders, the diversity meme amounts to the “rearranging chairs” metaphor. Put in perspective it can be realized that the founding documents of this nation embodied the collective wisdom derived from scholarly examination of human history and gave template for avoiding the failures of prior societies.
Let’s become a nation again — get over haggling and become again a citizen body united and oath bound to the founding principles. ENOUGH!

“Let’s become a nation again” –cavepainter

We are a nation. We never stopped being a nation. On October 25, 2001, the Patriot Act passed the Senate by 98 to 1.

Can’t get much more of a unified patriotic nation than that.

If there is another 9/11 attack tomorrow, do you think the reaction would be any different? Do you think we are no longer a nation, so people would just shrug their shoulders and ignore an attack?

Since Bush’s economic crash of 2007, we are a nation with 76 consecutive months of positive job growth.

We are a nation with an unemployment rate one half what it was in 2007 (using the same measurement criteria).

We are a nation whose economic activity, as measured by the DOW (which is over 18,000 now) is recovering from the 2007 crash, including manufacturing.

We are a nation whose national budget deficits are shrinking year after year, as has the size our now smaller federal government.

We as a nation are doing well, actually.

Oh yeah, oh yeah, the typical meme of the Left; all whitey’s fault. Victim class has been made an industry in America, whereby the citizenry has been brow-beat into a political torpor by PC, itself subsequently victimized by having its own true national interest displaced on behalf of trans-national interests. Consequently, national sovereignty and patriotic embrace of Constitutional entitlement exclusive to citizen status is expunged. My message to you is grow up to the fact that our system of government — as originally laid out — is the best ever conceived for balancing the often contradictory needs within the order of human behavior. I’m fed-up with your sanctimonious, narcissistic cry-baby bullshit.

        • JimInFlorida July 20, 2016 at 1:21 pm #

wpa wpa, where do I begin with you?

Traditional (and legitimate) nation-states have an organic basis underlying the common agreement to exist in consensus. Blood, land, religion, and language are real ties to form a common body-politic around.

The U.S. has ALWAYS been a synthetic and alien creation that grew out of the Virginia Company. Good fortune provided a seed population that was solidly WHITE and old-school CHRISTIAN. For a short time after 1776, we enjoyed the fruits of being a sovereign White nation-state that existed for itself and not for the King or the banksters. The bankster-instigated Civil War in 1861 killed the real U.S.A. We’ve been living under a BIG LIE since then.

The 50 formerly sovereign States have been Corporate Holdings (and administrative districts) of the FOREIGN CITY STATE OF WASHINGTON DC since 1874! The semi-private CORPORATION is literally named, “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, INCORPORATED.” From 1874 to 1913, the debts that arose from the Civil War and Reconstruction were financed by stealing new territory to cover the principle plus the accruing interest. WHEN THE 48TH STATE WAS ADDED (Arizona), our ability to incorporate new assets hit the wall.

The Federal Reserve was created the VERY NEXT YEAR to privatize our currency. ALL income power and ability to monetize all underlying assets was surrendered to the banksters. THIS IS NOT THE MARK OF A “NATION” BUT THE MARK OF *****S**L**A**V**E**S***** albeit with limited freedoms. Mostly limited to our consumption habits and VERY LIMITED RIGHTS with respect to the Federal Government and the State powers that are subject to the Feds.

Therefore, Washington acts as a Managerial Power for the assets held as security for an insolvent collection of 50 Federalized districts. Washington hasn’t acted as a political focal point for the popular will since 1860. The U.S.A, Inc.is the Trustee and, because we are a CORPORATION, they are required to turn a profit for the REAL OWNERS. They will succor us as little as possible.

Since the U.S.A, Inc. is no longer in the business of making anything, the Ruling Corporation has become a Service Provider in the following ways. Money changing and imperial action to seize foreign assets to grow its underlying base of performing assets and protect what it already holds. Anything that is done to keep We Teh Sheep fed and entertained is overhead.

In case nobody noticed, when Lord Bush and Viceroy Cheney took away our habeas corpus rights, that was to transfer our organic personhood to our new owners. Our new owners are the ones who hold Title to your Corporation Person (your name in ALL CAPS) AND your organic being! We were sold as SALVAGE ASSETS. It was left to Obama to finalize the transfer. Now we are largely an unproductive burden on their land holdings. We Teh Sheep have been literally PRIVATIZED in the same way that our currency was privatized in 1913!

On a much lesser note, 76 consecutive months of creating the economic equivalent of Squeegee Men is not my idea of good job growth.

          • Janos Skorenzy July 20, 2016 at 2:20 pm #

Sounds about right. And when sheep were more profitable than people in Scotland, the people were driven off the land, be it by English landowners or “Scottish Lords”. Ironically, all things Scottish were in vogue at the time, with the English Elite walking around in kilts even as the Scottish nation died. Elite Scottish regiments were fighting for England in the Crimean War at the same time. An utterly defeated people, what little strength had in service of their masters.

To their credit, some of the Scottish Lords helped their people resettle in Canada, fulfilling their ancient duties to some degree at least. If they had resisted, they wouldn’t have been able to pay the taxes on their estates, and they would have been as homeless as their people.

One can only shudder at what they plan for us.

      • Janos Skorenzy July 20, 2016 at 2:23 pm #

You accept, I assume, that these groups will be ethnically homogenous? Even as early America was? With Blacks and Indians fully disenfranchised along with poor Whites? The Polity is only for some, and among that some, only the qualified get to make decisions.

Ozone, Financial Collapse (driven by the gutting of American family income) is a great bet, other ponies in the race might be racial insurrection, Red vs Blue animosities resulting in secession ie Texit.

And who knows what write-in candidates await in places like Pakistan and India, two nuclear powers, both infested by terrorists, one dangerously unstable. I know, any nominee has to be American-born but this is the election where rules are broken, where anything goes, where should-be felons stand for election for the highest office, where the parties that purport to stand for this or that are finally understood to stand for nothing of the sort.

But realistically what we have is a moribund system, eaten by the oligarchic malignancy, Financial Collapse the wretchedly ill body’s last retching.

It’s not like we haven’t had warnings, a generation of steadily decreasing interest rates – and now zero or even negative rates – akin to the dangerously low blood pressure of a patient in extremis.

But, as you say, Financial Collapse as the front runner, dwarfs all others.

[US founders]” solidly WHITE and old-school CHRISTIAN” –JiminFlorida

The plantations only functioned with Black slaves. The railroads only got built with imported Chinese labor. The food only gets picked with Mexican immigrants.

If this country depended upon whites, it would go under. Whites are soon to be the minority population. The sooner the better.

Check out the difference between Christians and deists.

    alternet.org/story/153727/5_founding_fathers_whose_skepticism_about_christianity_would_make_them_une…

And America the nation was founded on a self-evident (no God needed) secular (we are not a theocracy) idea of equality (see the Declaration of Independence). America the nation was not founded on blood, land, religion, or language.

    • JimInFlorida July 20, 2016 at 7:40 pm #

wpa, I admire your persistence. Wrong as usual but, you don’t give up. The delusional energy you’ve tapped into is the same that has powered the New Left for over 50 years. Otherwise, it would have been slain long ago.

Plantation labor is fungible. Had the mechanized agricultural implements come around a century earlier, importation of slaves would have been unnecessary. The Black contribution is vastly overrated.

Unlike Whites of today, the Whites of 18th – 19th century America were rugged and able to do the work. Had there been no Jews to buy and sell African slaves from their Muslim masters, the plantations would have been forced to recruit labor from the Old Country and as European immigrants arrived. Of course, they would have exploited BUT, as indentured servants, they would have been freed according to the contract. Unlike freed Blacks, freed Whites would have gone on to add value to the country.

Without the White Mind to guide the Labor of the time, nothing would have been built.

As for the foundation of America, that Declaration of Independence wasn’t penned in a vacuum. It arose from centuries of WHITE EVOLUTION that began with the Treaty of Westphalia, Natural Rights, and the Social Contract. It would have NEVER arisen from the Muslims or the Africans. My two favorite books: The Art of the Deal by Donald J Trump and the Bible by God – and I’ve never read either one of them in full, except for the New Testament. But those are Trump’s favorite books so they’re mine as well. That’s what it means to be a Disciple or Guru Mukh – the mouthpiece of the Guru. I doubt he’s read them either. It just doesn’t matter. We’re going to win. The Trumps are a new political Dynasty. Don Jr is a Star as is Ivanka. She will be simultaneously the first Female President and the first Jewish President.

      ==============

      Funny you should mention………

      It is actually scary.

You see the problem, right? Was he lying when he said Trump was a great guy or is he lying now when he says he’s shit? We don’t know. But what we do know is that Schwartz is a liar.

Can you disagree with Trump’s assessment: He’s very disloyal after I made him a rich man. He has the right to disagree with men and not vote for me, but he should have remained silent.

Schwartz is loyal to his people. That is the ultimate for almost all Jews. It’s even admirable, but obviously fatal for any greater society.

Any idea who painted that series of four paintings on the decay and rebirth of Civilization?

“Was he lying when he said Drumpf was a great guy or is he lying now when he says he’s shit? We don’t know.”

Sure we do: It’s the first one. We know this because before he was being paid, and now he isn’t. If we accept your contention that money buys loyalty, maybe Trump just should have just made him a better offer.

‘Any idea who painted that series of four paintings on the decay and rebirth of Civilization?”

    ///cc///:capture of thoughtcrime criminals

    Comrades!

Criminals and fugitives listed last week have yet to be located and are on the run like the rats that they are. Their families, friends and co workers, however, have been rounded up and liquidated! Such is the fate of Enemies of the State. We are particularly interested in the Thought Criminal who call himself ‘Pequiste’, a wag who enquired ‘Will lunch be served’, (in Room 101) It seems this non citizen is not taking us seriously, and does not realize we mean business. Yes, Mr P, lunch is served, an id salad, followed up by a knuckle sandwich. You will find out soon enough what is being served for lunch in Rm 101, all of you.

Meanwhile, the white enemy is gathered in Cleveland as even as we speak. Go to Cleveland, Comrades! There is your enemy! Destroy those who have kept you down. It is their fault you are ignorant, poor, and rootless. Take your revenge!

    THE TIME IS NOW!!!

P.S. Does your note mean I am an enema of the state or that’s going to be my “special treatment: in room 101? If nurse Jeanine is officiating I’m all in,

P.P.S. Frank’s idea about some pharma phun would be just the ticket for a fabulous gathering. Thorazine for everyone – I’m buying!

There are few things in life one can predict with certainty, but given the grave events of recent weeks, it is hard to see how deadly gunplay might be avoided at the 2016 Republican convention. –JFK

Day Three: Still no hint of the violence predicted by JHK

As of Wednesday, despite widespread worries about violence and the prospect of terrorism at the convention, the streets of Cleveland have been relatively safe.

A scuffle broke out Tuesday in Public Square, where many of the demonstrations are held, but it was squelched quickly. There also was tension Wednesday afternoon amid reports of an attempted flag burning. But the White People’s convention hasn’t seen the kind of violence some had worried about.

No shootings. No death. No “deadly gunplay” … just the revelation that Hilary is Lucifer. LOL! I’m registering voters, mostly millennials, Mexicans, and Muslims, and they are not voting for The Donald. In thirty years of doing voter registration I have never seen people so eager to vote as those who want to vote against Donald.

President Erdogan accuses Gülen of organizing the coup, and foaming at the mouth demands from Washington his extradition.

Moreover, this foam from his mouth has reached the base Incirlik, owned by either Turkey, or NATO, or the US, and blocked it completely, not allowing taking out from this base one hundred nuclear bombs, that were originally intended as a gift to guess who.

And an amazing reconciliation is happening between Vladimir Putin and Erdogan, who, like Nakshidil, the son of Sultan Mohamed II who had almost converted to Orthodoxy along with entire Ottoman Empire, so Erdogan has suddenly rushed into the arms of Russia, and seemingly wants to get out of NATO and join the CSTO and the Customs Union.

And all that while Erdogan purges Turkey from Gülen’s Deep State, while arresting thousands of judges, police and Army officers. And ten years ago, he has already cleared out the army from the organization “Ergenekon”, which stood on the pan-Turkic positions.

It comes to speculation that Erdogan himself organized this coup to have an excuse to purge up Turkey from supporters of Gülen, but the authors of these assumptions forget about fighting the Kurds in Turkey, which without the help of the army are impossible to pacify, as well as the Gülen allegedly writing speeches for President Obama. Also, do not forget about Vladimir Putin, who will inevitably demand of him at least to refrain from supporting ISIS, and in terms much tougher than President Obama.

Why is it that Hillary has a “Thang” for abusive men?

“In the final days of the 2000 Senate race, Bill Cosby appeared with Hillary Clinton at an election eve rally in Buffalo, a working class town where a lot of the locals thought Hillary was kind of phony. Although he spent millions of dollars, Congressman Rick Lazio would lose the race, demonstrating how NOT to run against a woman.
“Cosby was a real asshole from the minute he hit town,” G.D. Parenti, a long time Western New York Democrat who was a volunteer on the Clinton advance team pulling the event together, told me in a recent interview. “He had the best suite in the city, it was nicer than Hillary’s suite. He kept calling it a ‘toilet’ and said the place was a ‘dump,’” said Parenti, a Hillary Clinton supporter.”

The Chinese now make police robot drones which could be deployed in “The Black Community”. They look like R2D2 with a maximum speed of 45 mph with a big giant dildo taser mounted on the front.

“Meanwhile, an international team of analysts has warned that roughly half of all working personnel in Japan will be replaced with robots in the next twenty years.Researchers from Japan’s Nomura Research Institute (NRI) along with their counterparts from Oxford University have forecast that by 2035 “up to 49 percent of jobs [in Japan] could be replaced by computer systems,” according to Engadget.com.”

    • The problem with robots is this: They will soon be the backbone of the economy.

And since it is us who work for the economy’s prerogatives, and not the other way around, we will start working so the robots will have things to do.

Human minds are still great at picking out discrete pieces of useful salvage in a pile of wreckage. An apt description of modern agriculture.

The principle that has taken hold in my mind is this: We work for the economy, not the other way around. Yet, this is the perception. All the stuff in the grocery stores, or gadgets, everything- we perceive as the effects of a servant laying them down at our feet- the economy.

Its all the politicians think we care about, and I witness people giving up everything in service of it day after day. Literally, no greater sacrifice is warranted than giving up everything to go to work as much as possible. Whoever gives up the most humanity, most utterly, reaps the greatest rewards.

Hence the plaintive cries of “who will pick our strawberries or lettuce?” when considering what to do once the illegal immigrants are deported. They will base their political and even life choices on supporting strawberries and cheap hammers. Robots will replace the strawberry pickers, and also the office workers. We are all going to be swept to the side, to compete with each other for a reason to get whatever the economy deems we deserve.

We serve political machines, and someday, actual machines. Capitalism is a monster, and we are merely cargo cultists. The main doctrine is making sure everyone keeps this system going. Suggest differently and get violently thrown out.

      • Janos Skorenzy July 21, 2016 at 3:31 pm #

Yes, Capitalism turned humans into machines – and no human can be as good a machine as a machine can be. So we are now becoming defunct equipment. And what does one do with such things except scrap them? Thus the Elite dream about reducing the useless eaters to 500 million worldwide a la the Georgia Guide Stones. Both my brother and I think that’s propaganda: they really intend a much lower number. They own the world and why would they support useless eaters? What do the female worker bees do to the drones once mating season is over? Drive them out of the hive.

Who to believe: Pence or Trump?

Trump contradicted Pence’s saying that the US has our allies back. Trump says not to count on a defense of white Europe if it is attacked. Trump says there are no automatic security guarantees for the 28 members of NATO. We should just pull our troops out of Europe.

    • pequiste July 21, 2016 at 1:21 am #

I absolutely agree with you on that singular point wpa-ccc.

The USSA should pull all permanently stationed military forces out of Europe and let the folks there handle their own defense requirements.

      Why you ask?

If the leaders of Europe can casually and cavalierly permit an invasion of 2,000,000 Yzlamik and sub-Saharan African invaders; provide for their transport, room and board; and lavish hefty welfare benefits upon them for an indeterminate amount of time, then they, the countries of Europe, can afford to defend themselves.

      • tucsonspur July 21, 2016 at 1:45 am #

Of course they already can’t defend themselves as proved in Paris, Nice, etc. Self inflicted wounds. And any US troop presence made no difference.

Defense against a major state player like Russia is not an immediate concern, and Trump, as he’s been known to do, may just be setting the stage for NATO bargaining and reform.

If they can’t get their act together, maybe Trump can do it for them. Now that would be a leader.

They can’t. Nor can Israel. Nor can Russia. Nor can Saudi Arabia. Nor can the United States (what other country has had 3,000+ dead in one day?)

Terrorist attacks can occur at any time, at any place, in any country… and it doesn’t matter how many highly trained, fully armed soldiers you have or how big your “Homeland Security” bureaucracy. You are going to have isolated and sporadic attacks. And you will learn to live with them.

It doesn’t matter how much anti-terrorist rhetoric you spout. It doesn’t matter how much money you throw at “defense”.

Donald Trump can do nothing to prevent terrorist attacks. Just as W could not prevent 9/11 and Obama could not prevent San Bernadino.

    • tucsonspur July 21, 2016 at 4:38 am #

“And you will learn to live with them.” wpa

Yes, I already gave that answer above. Cope.

But I wouldn’t say Trump can do nothing. He might do what I would do. Really build up the military, especially anti missile defenses, and make sure the nuclear arsenal is salivating in the silos.

Even Trump may not think as big as I do, but I would consider establishing a United States of Saudi Arabia. This is war, so let’s make it full, and I mean full, commitment. Nuking Muslim centers of terrorism would not be out of the question. Innocent civilians you say? Better there than here. It’s war, remember.

Once a few million suspect Muslim terrorists are incinerated, dreams of a caliphate and global conquest will wither, while we’re pissing on the ashes.

Never happen you say? What’s important is that Trump be ready to kill, to do whatever it takes, to terminate this towel headed trash. I believe that he is.

I like it. The United States of American Arabia.

By the way, according to what I heard, it was more like 30,000 dead on 911.

And of course they can! Terror attacks is a way of conducting public policy without using more expensive and destructive methods such as full scale war with professional military participation – many more casualties and civil infrastructure destruction.

Is there still an ashole who believes that a terror attack could occur without knowledge, or direct participation of special services of one kind or another? Oh, c’mon!

By the way, to completely destabilize the city size of New York all you have to have is about 5,000 “Syrian refugees” of special kind on special drugs.

I would be very concerned about secret refugee resettlement program which is apparently going on in US for at least 2 years.

Tucson spur’s metaphor of Cruz the lube pit snake was very good too. Also, the Mariana Trench thing. In fact, there are a great many excellent writers here. That’s why I support this blog via Patreon.

    Last day of Republican Convention

Cruz declined to endorse Trump, Bushes did not come. The Republican Party is also split as Democratic. Three-party political system?

    1. Party of Trump.
    2. Bush, Cruz, Obama
    3. Hillary, Sanders

Although Sanders probably will jump Hillary’s ship

Last speech is a speech of Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church. Delegates ended convention in a joint prayer under his leadership and in unison uttered Amen!

Apparently Trump is determined to avoid positioning Russia as sole Orthodox Empire, and will argue that America is as much Orthodox as Russia.

    • JimInFlorida July 21, 2016 at 2:50 pm #

Shameless pandering by Trump, if that’s the case.

ZOG Amerika is about as Orthodox as North Korea. Our religion is a polytheistic worship of the Seven Deadly Sins. Our gods are Belphegor, Mammon, and Molech.

If Putin doesn’t take a potshot at Trump for trying to pull a snatch n’ grab of Russia’s ancient faith, then shame on him.

On Wednesday in Kiev was murdered famous journalist Pavel Sheremet. Another murder of a journalist in Ukraine came as a shock to the establishment, regardless of political orientation.

West reacted pretty indifferently, correctly judging that it would be impossible to pin that murder on Putin, since Putin has an alibi – he was at that time saving Erdogan’s ass and Sheremet was by no means an ardent anti-Putin journalist, and our Western friends are not interested in any other versions.

Shoddy planning, stolen speeches, booing speakers, chaos on the floor, blustery rhetoric that inspires terrifying chants.

At their convention this week the White People’s Party has provided us with a perfect preview of what a Trump-led America would look like

Democrats, multicultural and representative of America, are clearly the adults in the room.

Iran: Erdogan Warned of Incoming Coup by Russian Alert

Several Arab media outlets, including Rai Alyoum, quoted diplomatic sources in Ankara as saying that Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization, known locally as the MIT, received intel from its Russian counterpart that warned of an impending coup in the Muslim state.

“I hope that when Donald Trump begins to receive intelligence briefings of the nature that I’ve been reviewing for a year and a half now in the Intelligence Committee that he might have a slightly different perspective on Vladimir Putin, because Vladimir Putin is not a friend of the United States,” Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., said during a foreign policy conversation in Cleveland Thursday.

Cotton made it clear that he disagrees with the presumptive GOP nominee’s comments, such as his criticism of NATO, but stopped short of directly criticizing the nominee. And he justified his support for Trump by saying that President Obama and Hillary Clinton have already enacted pro-Russia policies that need to be reversed.

WASHINGTON—Sales of previously owned homes rose to their strongest pace in nearly a decade in June, buoyed by low mortgage rates and an improving economy.

The pace of existing home sales increased 1.1% last month from May to a seasonally adjusted rate of 5.57 million, the National Association of Realtors said Thursday. That puts them at their highest level since February 2007.

The economy has recovered. All the indicators say so. Are you better off now than eight years ago? Yes. Thanks to Obama, who rescued the country from a Bush recession in 2007 when we were losing millions of jobs and the economy was on the brink of collapse.

But the economy did not collapse thanks to Obama… and will not with Bill and Hillary in the White House the next eight years.

    • FincaInTheMountains July 21, 2016 at 7:55 pm #

The only one idea that Hillary and Bill have for US economy is the same as they had back in the 90s – put the pedal to the metal on the FED’s printing press and cram down it’s greenish paper output down the throat of other Nations using ISIS and US Army as an appetizers.

I doubt very much that it could work the second time around, without encountering some long-distance fireworks.

I love it. Just when the country couldn’t think less of ole Canadian Ted, and after desperately appealing to Pentecostals and other wackiest of the wacky Christians, cheating in primaries, attacking wives, and exhuming his dead druggie sister and her chubby estranged kids, he slithers out and does something more incredible; he low classes Trump. His fatal character flaw gets him again. He must win at all cost, he won’t be out tricked and low balled by the Trump, no, he’ll show Trump who has even less class. And with that move we never have to worry about ole slithering Canadian Ted and his bridge balancing wife again.

    Mr. K,

Thanks again for the laser like focus on a major societal problem. I enjoy listening to a fellow named Bob Woodson and his Neighborhood Enterprise Project, who has (imho), some good programs on fighting inner city poverty with a motto of “Transforming lives, schools and troubled neighborhoods from the inside out”. His “comeback series” shows examples of his neighborhood enterprise org’s positive stories.
Not sure if I can link stuff here, but it is found here:

Characteristic feature of Salafi Muslims it is that they deny the achievements of Islam from the 9th century to modern times, for which other nations and civilizations have a proper respect.

And Salafis, while denying these achievements, gladly refer to them and use them as a shield from the wrath of other Nations indignant of their evil deeds, and with no less pleasure directing this anger at traditional Islam.

And from a formal point of view Islam is impossible without the Sharia law which is a system of jurisprudence based on Koran. And in Islam there are all together 6 traditional legal systems – so called madhhabs – and Salafis deny them all.

Thus Salafis, also known as Wahhabis or Islamists, from the point of view of traditional Islam are outlaws who interpret the Koran as it suits them, in order to justify their crimes and some Salafi fatwas in the eyes of traditional Muslims are pure blasphemy.

Thanks for the clarification Finc, however the Sultan RecipE I has put the matter in no doubt as to his position on just what Yzlam iz:

“˜These descriptions are very ugly, it is offensive and an insult to our religion. There is no moderate or immoderate Islam. Islam is Islam and that’s it.”

Recip Tayyip Erdogan (The Sultan) Milliyet, Turkey, August 21, 2007

Clear as gin to me, hence my very strong aversion to Yzlam, Islam, Mohammadanism, Saracenism, Wahabism, or any of the other main legal schools, sects or off-shoots of the crescent and scimitar 7th Century warlord program.

Stephen F. Cohen on The John Batchelor Show?

Meanwhile, at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Trump representatives rejected an attempt by cold warriors to write into the party platform a promise to increased US military aid to Kiev, reinforcing earlier statements by Trump that he, unlike Hillary Clinton, is pro-détente.

In response, cold warriors confirmed that there is indeed a new Cold War by echoing an ugly feature of the preceding one—McCarthyism.

They accused the Trump campaign of being in cahoots with Putin, even having received money from Moscow.

Cohen, who has argued for more than 10 years that Washington policy was leading to a renewed Cold War with Moscow, points out that the return of Cold-War Olympic politics and McCarthy-like slurs scarcely leave any doubt about the nature of today’s US-Russian relations and the vital importance of a new détente.

There are few things in life one can predict with certainty, but given the grave events of recent weeks, it is hard to see how deadly gunplay might be avoided at the 2016 Republican convention.

Four days of peaceful protest. No “deadly gunplay” No murders. No shootings. No one killed. No one wounded. No “race war” (a fantasy in the minds of white racists like Janos)

At 7 p.m. officials said there were no arrests Thursday, leaving the total arrest count at 23, most from two flag-burning incidents on Wednesday.

By comparison, nearly 300 people were arrested during an anti-war march during the first day of the GOP Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, in 2008. In New York City in 2004, nearly 1,000 protesters were arrested on one day.

The mood this week never produced anything resembling the massive protests of the past. Another failed JHK prediction. No economic collapse. No DOW at 4,000. No Y2K. etc. etc.

It was a joke, but in fact Jones did seem to try and start a fight with some Communists – but then played it like he was the one being attacked.

He also harassed a Turkish Ape named Cenk who I don’t know much about. But people say the guy is an incredible hater of Whites and Western Culture.

THIS IS WHY WE NEED THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT

Kinsey, a behavioral therapist at the care facility, had been working to settle his patient when police arrived to investigate what authorities said was a 911 call about a suicidal “white-Hispanic” man with a gun. The supposed gun apparently was the toy truck.

Rivera said the officer wasn’t aiming for Kinsey when he fired.

He couldn’t explain why, after the shooting, officers rolled the bleeding Kinsey to his side and handcuffed him.

YOU SHOOT AN UNARMED MAN WITH HIS HANDS UP, THEN HANDCUFF HIM AND LEAVE HIM BLEEDING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHEN BLACK LIVES DON’T MATTER.

Proof Trump in an out-of-touch billionaire. He just gave an hour and 15 minute speech.

Trump didn’t mention Social Security once. His only reference to security was to stoke fear of immigrants.

Trump didn’t mention the minimum wage once. His only reference to wages was to stoke anger toward immigrants.

Trump didn’t mention Wall Street banks once. His only mention of a “wall” was about building one — as he again equated immigrants with gangs, violence, and drugs.

Trump is going to lose big in November.

    • JimInFlorida July 22, 2016 at 6:46 am #

Trump will win because Hillary will LIE about Social Security and the minimum wage. She’ll be very careful about mentioning Wall Street since her hands are all inside the pants of the banksters.

Trump wins by a 5% margin because people would rather have clusterfuck billionaire, who can be contained, than the smooth well-oiled machine of PURE EVIL that works for Hillary.

“Today everything is so complex as to be incomprehensible. What sense does it make for men to walk on the moon while other men are waiting on welfare lines, or in Vietnam killing and dying for a corrupt dictatorship in the name of freedom? These are the days when man has his hands on the sublime while he is up to his hips in the muck of madness. The establishment in many ways is as suicidal as some of the far left, except that they are infinitely more destructive than the far left can ever be. The outcome of the hopelessness and despair is morbidity. There is a feeling of death hanging over the nation. Today’s generation faces all this and says, “I don’t want to spend my life the way my family and their friends have. I want to do something, to create, to be me, to ‘do my own thing,’ to live.”

    Hillary’s mentor:

“The young react to their chaotic world in different ways. Some panic and run, rationalizing that the system is going to collapse anyway of its own rot and corruption and so they’re copping out, going hippie or yippie, taking drugs, trying communes, anything to escape. Others went for pointless sure-loser confrontations so that they could fortify their rationalization and say, “Well, we tried and did our part” and then they copped out too. Others sick with guilt and not knowing where to turn or what to do went berserk. These were the Weathermen and their like: they took the grand cop-out, suicide. To these I have nothing to say or give but pity—and in some cases contempt, for such as those who leave their dead comrades and take off for Algeria or other points.”

“There are many white people in this country, especially the younger generation, who realize that the injustice that has been done and is being done to black people cannot go on without the chickens coming home to roost eventually. And those white people, even if they’re not morally motivated, their intelligence forces them to see that something must be done. And many of them would be willing to involve themselves in the type of operation that you were just talking about.

For one, when a white man comes to me and tells me how liberal he is, the first thing I want to know, is he a nonviolent liberal, or the other kind. I don’t go for any nonviolent white liberals. If you are for me and my problems – when I say me, I mean us, our people – then you have to be willing to do as old John Brown did. And if you’re not of the John Brown school of liberals, we’ll get you later – later.” Malcom X 1965

    Hillary Alinsky 2016

“What I have to say in this book is not the arrogance of unsolicited advice. It is the experience and counsel that so many young people have questioned me about through all-night sessions on hundreds of campuses in America. It is for those young radicals who are committed to the fight, committed to life. Remember we are talking about revolution, not revelation; you can miss the target by shooting too high as well as too low. First, there are no rules for revolution any more than there are rules for love or rules for happiness, but there are rules for radicals who want to change their world; there are certain central concepts of action in human politics that operate regardless of the scene or the time. To know these is basic to a pragmatic attack on the system. These rules make the difference between being a realistic radical and being a rhetorical one who uses the tired old words and slogans, calls the police “pig” or “white fascist racist” or “motherfucker” and has so stereotyped himself that others react by saying, “Oh, he’s one of those,” and then promptly turn off.”

    “Trump! Trump! Trump!”

“There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevski said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and chance the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution.”
