Have you noticed how quickly our Ukraine problem went away, vanished, phhhhttttt? At least from the top of US news media websites. The original idea, as cooked-up by departed State Department strategist Victoria Nuland, was to make Ukraine a problem for Russia, but instead we made it a problem for everybody else, especially ourselves in the USA, since it looked like an attempt to kick-start World War Three. Now she is gone, but the plans she laid apparently live on.
Our Congress so far has resisted coughing up another $60-billion for the Ukraine project — most of it to be laundered through Raytheon (RTX), General Dynamics, and Lockheed Martin — so instead “Joe Biden” sent Ukraine’s President Zelensky a few reels of Laurel and Hardy movies. The result was last week’s prank: four groups of mixed Ukraine troops and mercenaries drawn from sundry NATO members snuck up to the border of Russia’s Belgorod region to capture a nuclear weapon storage facility while Russia held its presidential election. I suppose it looked good on the war-gaming screen.
Alas, the raid was a fiasco. Russian intel was on it like white-on-rice. The raiders met ferocious resistance and retreated into a mine-field — this was the frontier, you understand, between Kharkov (Ukr) and Belgorod (Rus) — where they were annihilated. The Russian election concluded Sunday without further incident. V.V. Putin, running against three other candidates from fractional parties, won with 87 percent of the vote. He’s apparently quite popular.
“Joe Biden,” not so much here, where he is pretending to run for reelection with a party pretending to go along with the gag. Ukraine is lined up to become Afghanistan Two, another gross embarrassment for the US foreign policy establishment and “JB” personally. So, how long do you think V. Zelensky will be bopping around Kiev like Al Pacino in Scarface?
This time, poor beleaguered Ukraine won’t need America’s help plotting a coup. When that happens, as it must, since Mr. Z has nearly destroyed his country, and money from the USA for government salaries and pensions did not arrive on-time, there will be peace talks between his successors and Mr. Putin’s envoys. The optimum result for all concerned — including NATO, whether the alliance knows it or not — will be a demilitarized Ukraine, allowed to try being a nation again, though in a much-reduced condition than prior to its becoming a US bear-poking stick. It will be on a short leash within Russia’s sphere-of-influence, where it has, in fact, resided for centuries, and life will go on. Thus, has Russia at considerable cost, had to reestablish the status quo.
Meanwhile, Saturday night, “Joe Biden” turned up at the annual Gridiron dinner thrown by the White House [News] Correspondents’ Association, where he told the ballroom of Intel Community quislings: “You make it possible for ordinary citizens to question authority without fear or intimidation.” The dinner, you see, is traditionally a venue for jokes and jibes. So, this must have been a gag, right? Try to imagine The New York Times questioning authority. For instance, the authority of the DOJ, the FBI, the DHS, and the DC Federal District court. Instant hilarity, right?
As it happens, though, today, Monday, March 18, 2024, attorneys for the State of Missouri (and other parties) in a lawsuit against “Joe Biden” (and other parties) will argue in the Supreme Court that those government agencies above, plus the US State Department, with assistance from the White House (and most of the White House press corps, too), were busy for years trying to prevent ordinary citizens from questioning authority. For instance, questioning the DOD’s Covid-19 prank, the CDC’s vaccination op, the DNC’s 2020 election fraud caper, the CIA’s Frankenstein experiments in Ukraine, the J6 “insurrection,” and sundry other trips laid on the ordinary citizens of the USA.
Specifically, Missouri v. Biden is about the government’s efforts to coerce social media into censoring any and all voices that question official dogma. The case is about birthing the new concept — new to America, anyway — known as “misinformation” — that is, truth about what our government is doing that cannot be allowed to enter the public arena, making it very difficult for ordinary citizens to question authority. The government will apparently argue that they were not coercing, they were just trying to persuade the social media execs to do this or that.
Maybe one of the justices might ask how it came to be that a Chief Counsel of the FBI, James Baker, after a brief rest-stop at a DC think tank, happened to take the job as Chief Counsel at Twitter in 2020. That was a mighty strange switcheroo, don’t you think? And ordinary citizens were not generally informed of it until the fall of 2022, when Elon Musk bought Twitter and delved into its workings.

On THAT, I completely agree with JHK. Unfortunately, as he writes earlier in this column, the US has not abandoned its plans to foment problems in THE Ukraine. It’s just removed the face of this nefarious plan–Victoria Nuland, who is a key establishment operative–NeoCon, Zionist, evil.
The Ukraine has receded from the news cycle partly because it has gotten old, partly because after two years, the fact that Ukraine is losing and will lose cannot be managed.
Then, there’s the question of how much the US MIC (Military Industrial Complex) can support both the mischief in Ukraine, and the ongoing extermination of the Palestinians. The latter has also taken up some news space that went the Ukraine.
While the slaughter of the Palestinians continues (and if there was an actual cease-fire today, thousands more Palestinians are condemned to a rather awful of death by starvation or disease or succumbing to war wounds, in addition to the 31,000 plus already dead), America’s (and the West’s position) in the world declines.
Is it only a matter of time before the US government, ratchets things up into HOT world war?
That is a good way, maybe the best way to distract people from inflation, from the effects of mRNA shots, from the broken health care system (for many, not all).
Worse, people like Nuland, who are still running the show, may actually believe they can WIN, and this will be a good way to re-assert “US Primacy”.
It didn’t work for Britain in WW1. Britain had the US bail it out. Today, no one will bail out the US. If the US sparks a hot war that spirals out of control (via Israel in Lebanon, or Iran, or Taiwan, or the South Pacific, or Ukraine/Russia), the US government won’t win.
But the US public will be the BIG losers.
NYT, WaPo, and CNN are all playing up the “fixed election” angle today in a typical pot-kettle-black maneuver we’ve come to expect from the US propaganda apparatus. I expect Stalin references to go mainstream any day now. Same as it ever was. Used to at least be creative. Now all we get is 60’s and 70’s era reruns.
Also, funny watching Biden squirm trying to square the Israeli operation in Pali with world opinion. Biden says, “Knock it off, you’re making me look bad!” Bibi replies, “Who the fuck are you and who cares how you look anyway?”
Read a story on Apple News that the Gaza Strip Palestinians are starting to blame Hamas for their woes, saying that they are not living up to agreements they made and they have just used the Gaza Strip people.
I will bet the Israelis are talking to these people.

This is what I have been saying all along, this war didn’t make sense, one sign is that they knew where the leaders of Hamas are, then I find out that it’s because Blinken said don’t worry we aren’t concerned with extradition.

Yesterday the IDF located and destroyed a massive tunnel underneath Gaza. It seems the main job in Gaza all these years has been tunnel building, with wages being paid by US & UN suckers.

Both you and I have been horrified by stories of Americans visiting Israel being spat upon. I have it on good authority* that those Americans who were spat upon by those Israeli citizens were all, unknown to themselves at the time, on fire! And…and the spittle was the first line of defense, as the second required unbuttoning one’s fly.

As for 20th Century values, one of those is racial equality or at least “no racial bias.” Whether you believe it that or not is immaterial because it is in fact what I said. .
One thing for sure: Zionistan does not believe in racial equality, either between the Jews and Goyim or between Ashkenazim and Mizrahim.

The 20th century students of Western Enlightenment, the best-educated populace in the world, used Zyklon B and kept better records. Those 14th century Turks, who reached the outskirts of Vienna, didn’t keep such good records, and used guns, bayonets, or just marched the Armenians to the desert and left them there. I don’t associate the Holocaust with rape or sexual abuse (at least not yet–perhaps the Israelis will add that to their victimization list later), whereas I do associate the Turks with that. But we DO KNOW that the Israelis enjoy sexually harassing or abusing their Palestinian captives.

E.g., Wikipedia says that, “The Enlightenment’s starting point was the secular world, and included a range of ideas centered on the value of human happiness, the pursuit of knowledge obtained by means of reason and the evidence of the senses, and ideals such as natural law, liberty, progress, toleration, fraternity, constitutional government, and separation of church and state.” I’d say that it would be tough to try to characterize Israel as a torch-bearer of Western Enlightenment, based on this description.
Indeed, Israel’s territorial claims–which are the premise for its
very existence–are religious rather than secular. Based on that alone, you could make a pretty good argument that the Israeli belief system is a few thousand years more antiquated than that of its “14th Century neighbors,” and that, if anything, its relations with its neighbors are founded on the perpetuation of hatreds that are anything but modern (due to going back close to 6,000 years), secular, or “enlightened.”
The whole mentality, if you ask me, is worse than Medieval–and certainly not “secular,” “enlightened,” or tending to promote “ideals such as natural law, liberty, progress, toleration, fraternity.”
And, as Socrates-Detroit observes, some of us are not entirely behind all of those “20th Century values” to begin with, such as such “socially enlightened concepts as public homosexuality, public pornography, atheism and agnosticism.”
Frankly, Israel and Jews in general have historically and invariably worked to undermine Western culture and civilization, promoting Bolshevism, atheism, and every kind of vice and sexual degeneracy, and degrading and vulgarizing its arts and literature.
Representing Israel as some kind of standard-bearer for Western Civilization is risible. It’s exactly the opposite.

The problem is this: the people who were telling me that the Russians were defeated and that their forced conscripts had nothing to fight with but shovels while the women and old men tore apart washing machines looking for parts to make missiles won’t admit that they believed any of this.
They won’t admit other things as well even though FB & Twitter has a record of the things they ran their mouth about. I remind them that their very profile pic was them encapsulated in a frame of “I’ve been vaccinated” like some sick gag from Stephen Colbert.
It would be no different than if I sat down and told you that Bigfoot and I had coffee and then went out and picked flowers and then two months later pretended that none of that happened.

At a recent funeral wake for a recently diseased elderly family member, I was surprised to hear the most senior family members wondering how the US can survive. That was startling to me. These are folks in their 80s+.
Also, on this same trip to Portland, Oregon, I noted Hispanic immigrants everywhere; whereas even 10 years ago this was not the case. But was especially notable was that they “no se hablan ingles.”

MiTurn, the invasion army is here. I live in Utah, historically, a vastly white majority. Not so anymore. Brown people abound and Spanish is heard everywhere. Though I am not threatened by Spanish or by the Mexican people, I have taken note that the hispanic populations are growing and they don’t speak English.

I just had someone on a roofing crew pull up outside. Utah plates. Does not speak a word of English. He is here to fix a leak from a roof that was sloppily installed a year ago. Most of the crew (10-12) last year were Honduran and I think this guy was one of them.

They usually prey on people’s greed and desire to get rich quick for minimal to no risk, which everybody says doesn’t happen in the “legit” world, except if you’re Hillary Clinton. I’d bet that’s what happened here. Here, just invest this amount and your return will be so much bigger.

MiTurn: No one here in Portland or Oregon’s 7 other sanctuary cities seem to be discussing this “issue”. However, our Governor is suddenly extremely agitated and is promoting the building of tons of low-cost housing even though we don’t have enough NATIVE homeless to fill all the proposed housing even if they all able to pay low rent. She must have gotten a “memo” from some higher up her to prepare for a ton of “uninvited guests” ala Denver Colorado.
My wife’s cousin in NW Portland says that their neighborhood is flush with homeless with which the city does nothing. These people have become accustomed to using outdoor faucets at homes in the neighborhood to get water for their needs. They just walk right up to the house and use the water.
I can only imagine how the homeless in this neighborhood are handling their human waste….gross.

Remember that 85% of the expense side of the federal pie chart are obligations. They must be paid. Only 15% has any possibility of being cut and even it will hurt politically. Any politician saying the answer is to cut, is bullshitting as it would be suicide for them.
It will be agonizingly long and painful but the answer is to stop the spending rises each year and increase expenditures by less than the rate of inflation. This means less increase in spending by 1-3% a year.

Though some calls aren’t too consequential, a couple of key plays going one way or the other changes the direction of the particular game.
Notice how ‘key’ plays can be ‘decided’ (reviewed?) in NYC when the controversies arise.

But nothing is more effective than shame and humiliation, when they’re genuinely deserved and understood as such. I wouldn’t necessarily blame some things on the women, Rowdypiglet. We’d have to see proper studies done, some of which would seem near impossible if not impossible.
The world was already moving in a certain direction; women entering the work force and voting and whatnot probably was inevitable from a ‘sociopoliticeconomic’ standpoint. Anyway, things seem to be changing and/or about to change in big ways yet again, as ‘the only constant being change’.
Rowdy, when I first went to Japan, in the early 1960s, and decided I wanted to live there permanently [based on an ignorance of the culture – the more I learned the less attractive it seemed] I was thoroughly inculcated in a “shame culture”.
It is powerful and not simply “psychological” or “behavioral” – as it can exert serious humiliation on one’s goals and objectives. From the bottom of their society to the apex, the shame factor is an intensive and effective modicum of social control.
It works.
Its terrible downside is that aggressive behavior is turned inward. People drink themselves to death or simply decide to commit suicide or go catatonic when there appears to be no way out.

I’ve done lots of work from home jobs, did security and Loss Prevention. But I quit after I was physically assaulted trying to uphrehend a woman from stealing. I’ve dealt with a lot of violent mfers working security. Then I did some filthy job involving trash sorting on an assembly line and that was the most disgusting job in the world.
The people who run our nation today is so damn obsessed with power they have successfully turned the U.S. into every other failed nation all molded into one…. Just wait until people start getting shot in the face while at the stop light like what happens in Brazil. Violence in Brazil is so horribly bad that the people see it as tolerable. I recall reading an article where this woman had to call her boss and let them know she was going to be late for work. When they asked her why, she told them “I’m being mugged right now.” I do not want to live in a country that’s so mind numbing bad that the people are tolerant and okay with it being unlivable. What it looks like to me is that they want to make sure that the only class of people living in America is the poverty class, no middle class what so ever. Just the poverty line class, and the 1% ruling over them.

lol yeah no, I’m not looking forward to something that will make 2020 look like a little incident. I didn’t have to worry about anyone causing trouble in my neighborhood, but my apartment complex is already looking like I live in the Middle East….I swear all they move over here now are Muslims, and I see so many women in hijabs walking around here.
When I say America is boring as hell, I mean it’s not as fun as it use to be anymore. Last year I had to work two night shifts, and I saw a naked homeless child laying on the side walk wrapped in a blanking shivering. The mother was pretty much ragged and barely clothed herself. And you have no idea how many times I’ve had to avoid getting stabbed, raked in the face, spat on, or even ran over with a vehicle. One homeless woman actually did try to hit me with her car when I tried to remove her off the property. She climbed in it and tried to chase me down the parking lot. But I was able to get the hell out of the way.
There are also so many encampments now, and people think this is normal…..All I can think about is how America was back when I was in my early teens. I would wake up, take my bike out for a ride or even roller skate and back then there were no homeless encampments. You had to go to the very worse part of the city to find such sightings. Like there is a neighborhood here in Sacramento called Marysville. It’s near Grant Highschool where I went to school. This area is mostly 89% black, but it’s always been riddled with drugs, violence, and other issues associated with such areas.
I lived in that area back in the 1990s in a very small apartment block. My aunt and her three kids lived next door to me, my mother, and brother. My second youngest cousin father was shot three times in the chest in that neighborhood and lived. This area has looked like shit ever since, and if you go there now and looked at it? It’s still the same, now add all of this up and almost every block in California is a Marysville except some areas are a lot worse than others. Especially in cities like Fresno, Oakland, etc.
Of course moving conditions improved once I moved into the Plaza’s back in 1992 from that crappy neighborhood I use to live in, that was like where all my best memories are, I really do miss living there. I wanted to get an apartment in that area but then I realized I had to go on a waiting list because all these “immigrants” have taken up everything. Across the street is an apartment were 90% of the people living there are Asian (Hmong). And half of them have been living in those apartments ever since the 1990s and early 2000s.
Man Heckler it was great though in the mid 90s and early 2000s. I had so much fun with family and everything…Now I look around and all I see is all this man made depression, sorrow, pain, suffering, defeat, anger, rage, and hatred. Caused and fabricated by people that hate the shit out of this country.
I watched “E.T.” the other night for the first time in many years, a classic movie if there ever was one. I think this was set and filmed somewhere around Sacramento. All I could think was that if this was set in present day, Elliott would be shot, robbed, raped, or worse while in the woods. Not to mention what would happen to poor little E.T. He would never be allowed to “go home”.
The cast interview on the DVD was very interesting. They talked about how this film brought so many different people of different walks of life together as one, back when it was released in 1982. In that instance, a lot of these foreigners would be shot as soon as they showed the whites of their eyes.

I have always argued that all the money spent measuring climate change needs to be spent helping populations adapt and move. Climate change is real as temperatures are rising world wide, but it will not have the ginormous change as predicted by the global power freaks. However, there may be another sort of impact. The world’s weather is affected by ocean driven atmospheric effects, like La Niña and El Niño. We have no idea why this ocean phenomenon does what it does. We do know that it has big effects on the weather world wide. The changes mean that an area cannot count on predictable weather year-to-year. The effects on human activity is bigtime. Farmers for example cannot count on rainfall or drought in their areas. The Atlantic gyres have similar effects.
I would like to add something to this. The atmosphere is organized into wind belts, north to south. Westerlies and trade are two examples. This is due to the coriolis effect. If these belts are movable due to temperature change, ???. If you looks around the world, you will notice that deserts occur at the same latitude belts, savannas the same, and wet zones the same. So does a warming of the globe cause shifts in whole climatic regions? Does the Sahara become a savanna if conditions change, recent work says it has been green in intervals before.. Does the American SW become habitable at intervals as Anasazi history shows. More important, do arable regions become uninhabitable as temperatures change?
Bottom line, the artificial boundaries set up by people makes no difference to Mother Nature. Changes to local conditions will overwhelm Man and cause much discord in the future. Man has intelligence, well some of them. We are adaptable. Will it be enough?

I never said it was common. I think chemtrails are more common, personally.

Had a dream. I was in the Artic at some facility, going down many icy steps, it was blowing, almost a white out. I saw 3 black bears and a jaguar, all the size of house cats, and I played with them on the steps.
Next 3 huge wolves circled me, sniffing my crown. They might have been 7 ft tall. I was terrified.
Next I was inside, maybe in a bedroom, with a older beat up lioness. I was nervous but not scared to death.
In real life I’ ve wrenched my hip and can barely walk. Ouch.

Oh boy, here goes. It is kind of sketchy to piece together when I wake up, but I recall one I had two nights ago where I was in the backyard sorting through some pipe, and a woman of authority comes in and says I need to move everything because they will be doing work on the lot line. I forcibly told her to get the hell off my property or I would smash her nose into 50 pieces. Then I woke up.
Then last night I recall dreaming about gathering up a bunch of old photos and stashing everything securely in the back hatch of a car. The store I was in was about to close and they were hustling me out, and I needed to get to a dinner, concert, play, or some other such event with some friends.
Maybe I have some latent anger issues towards authority? Security and attachment issues? I don’t know what these dreams are trying to tell me.

It couldn’t be! But … but it was, it was Joe Biden, and he looked pissed.

earlier today I ran into a video where a teenage girl was savagely beaten on school campus and nobody tried to prevent it, she was also a white student. Times sure have changed in the past 63 years.
Two months after graduating from High School in 1958 I started school at St Joseph’s College in Philly. The student body was all White and all male and you had to wear a suit and tie or at minimum a sports coat and tie. It was/is a Jesuit school yet being tiny, under 1500 students at the time, was a perennial basketball powerhouse.
This currently being March Madness season of 2024, I am reminded of the like period of 1961, my junior year.

It appears as though humans have always contrived to have government or something that functions more or less in the same way but with a different name. We create governments and laws because it’s instinctive in humans to attempt to impose a degree of order upon chaos; without order, we can’t create anything. I think it would be true to say that humans function best when there is minimal law and order, with room for a soupcon of chaos. It was the reasonably orderly world that allowed for a Thoreau or Whitman; in an anarchic world, they wouldn’t last five minutes.
It doesn’t seem to me that you have any investment in your own arguments. How long would you survive in Haiti? No one argues that governments are always benevolent, but anarchy seems to me just another fake utopia in which actual human beings cannot live. Adults accept that nothing in this world is anywhere close to perfect.

Yes, altho cold and rather dreary here. Daffodils are poking up thru & the ground seems to be about thawed out. It wasn’t a bad winter, with only 2 snowstorms of any substance.

It’s sunny, if cool here and I’ll be taking the bike shortly to the garden plot to remove the sticks I layed over the straw to keep it from blowing away over the winter. I am hoping to see evidence of planted garlic soon, if probably not yet.
It’s been quite pleasant here, with some warm days (70°), but with some nights dropping down into the twenties–so the seedlings that have been hardening off on the porch have to be brought indoors overnight. We got the cabbages (Early Jersey Wakefield) planted today–nice big transplants that are about five inches tall and almost as wide. The kale (Russian Red and Dazzling Blue) and collards (Georgia) need to be transplanted to the garden too, but we ran out of time for them. After those comes the broccoli. They are a little less cold-hardy.
We had a lot of trouble with pests on the brassicas last year, but we’re well armed against them this year, so–fingers crossed.
@Anthea, It’s snowing a bit here today and feels particularly unspringlike. Wish I had the courage to plant cabbage, but I’ve read that it attracts lots of pests and I try to make a garden where I don’t have to wage war. Year before last, I planted quite a bit of Swiss chard. It was delicious, grew like crazy, insects were quite uninterested in it, and it reseeded itself last year. I picked the last of it in November. I’ve planted kale a few times, but the bugs won’t leave it alone.

This is about the right time to set out kale and cabbages in this climate zone.
In past years, the white flies (worm stage) always ate up any brassicas, but we’d get a good harvest before they appeared, and the kale and collards would put on new growth after they were gone–starting around September. So we’d get a long fall season for harvesting kale and collards.
Last year I applied worm castings to the brassicas, which helped (though not much). I was able to harvest a few early cabbages before the white flies set in–which I had never succeeded at before.
Anyway, we had particularly bad luck last year: no fall brassicas at all, because we had a bad infestation of harlequin bugs–which I had never even seen before.
This year, the plan is to keep the brassicas sprayed with neem oil, and also I think I’ll pick up some diatomaceous earth tomorrow. (DE should work for harlequin bugs.) My next-youngest daughter is an expert gardener, and she says that the best way to get rid of white flies/cabbage worms is to diligently pick off the worms every day until they’re gone, which she says takes about two weeks.
We’re determined to make it work this year, with the brassicas.
I don’t like chard very much, but what I do like is beet greens, and chard is really just a beet bred to produce greens that are larger and more dense (and have pretty colors).

Our average last frost date is April 15th, but it’s best to wait till May 1st to set out tomatoes and peppers.
Kale and cabbage are okay with frost down into the mid-twenties. Broccoli is supposedly a little more tender–only good down to about 28. Anyway, this means that the kale and cabbage can go into the garden starting about now. (I think they say to plant them out about two weeks before the last frost date.)
I started a bunch of peppers indoors, but germination has been very slow and poor, and I can’t think of anything I did wrong. Peppers are slow anyway, so maybe I have some varieties that are super-slow.
I was hoping to have enough pepper seedlings to share with my oldest daughter and her husband. They bought a house about a year ago, and now they want to have a garden. My daughter likes to make “poppers,” and you can use just about any kind of pepper for that.
I just bought an air fryer, which really simplifies making poppers or “blistered” shishitos, and supposedly you can use an air fryer to roast poblanos and other peppers to remove the skin.
I roast the red bells in a paper bag, they peel so easy and then just pack -em in jars with oil.
Can’t beat them on a sandwich.
Get a pair of ducks they will eat all the bugs.
@benr, In my part of the world, winter lasts a long time. Ducks (and geese, and chickens) need someplace well protected to live during the winter, preferably with a bit of heat. People forget this because they see chickens wandering around freely all summer, sleeping on people’s porches at night. They get themselves a few chickens and, before you know it, it’s 10 degrees out with a foot of snow. That’s how people come to have, as my neighbors did, a very nice rooster living in their bathroom. They tried to persuade us to adopt the rooster but we didn’t see that putting him in our bathroom would be much of an improvement. Fortunately, someone did give him a home. Otherwise he’d have been living in our house because we’re suckers and he looked at us with his big rooster eyes.

Enough with the anarchy already. Things are the way they are. I don’t feel the subject merits all the analysis and argumentation. Let’s move on. Although, it seems that humans need some kind of authority. We’ve always had government of some sort to maintain order. It may have not worked out so well. As the ultimate fallback, we’ve used the concept of a supernatural entity to tell us how to live our lives. Why?
It seems that humans – primates – don’t have the ability to act on their own. They need direction. Humans, the apparent evolutionary end point of primatism (a word I’ve made up) have a major disadvantage over other species: We realize that our lives will end – and of this date, have no way to prevent this. This is a biggie. As far as we know, a dog or a cat doesn’t know that. What an advantage! No wasted energy on the future, just freedom from worrying about it.
A solution to the problem is for us to take responsibility for our lives, not to seek outside help. I guess anarchy of some type is that solution. Still, how can we trust others?
Being taught respect others is necessary for us humans. We haven’t really emphasized that. Until we’ve tried, we can’t be truly free. Or maybe we primates are not capable.

Well I’ve already said that anarchy and government don’t seem necessarily mutually exclusive and that government in that context may simply need to be voluntary/mutually consensual– like any reasonable relationship between two beings.
I’ve also previously made a distinction between government and the State.
The work of Nock’s you are referencing contains many words too, but perhaps it is indeed a good alternative.
If my jibber-jabber prompted your reference of it, then perhaps it was not entirely in vain.

I’ve been reading about celebrity announcements of cancer, the most recent being Richard Simmons. The cancer being basal cell carcinoma (bcc). Well, fyi, bcc is something of not great concern. It doesn’t tend to spread. I had one on my upper arm about 20 years ago. I was not happy. It so happened that my wife’s cousin was a top cancer doctor. I was planning a vacation and thought I would have to cancel it to deal with my cancer. He almost laughed. He said bcc was not serious, it almost always never spreads unless untreated, and some of his colleagues didn’t even consider it a cancer. He also said if I waited several months to treat it, that would be fine. All they do is burn it off and then you’re done. So I went on vacation and then had it removed a few months later. It took less than an hour, and it never came back.
The scary skin cancer is a melanoma because if left untreated will probably spread through your body and kill you. Even if it’s removed, you don’t necessarily know if some cells still remain. My sister had 3 or 4 of them. My skin care provider said some people just sprout them. My sister died a couple of years after, but from acute myeloid leukemia. I don’t know if it was somehow related to the melanoma.
Anyway, my point in mentioning this is because of how the media reports bcc. They say that the celebrity has just stated they’ve received devastating health news. He or she has a bcc. Woopie do.

It would seem like the article I once read while working in a book/magazine store from the Anarchist Journal was not just a one off, but part of mainstream Anarchism. If the seeding numbers for teams in the tournament are meaningful, and I think they are, we have just seen our first upset. Oregon (an 11 seed) just defeated South Carolina (a 6 seed) 87 to 73.
For those not aware, the lower the seed number the better the team. There are 4 regions each with 16 teams that are seeded from 1 to 16. The four number 1 seeds are Connecticut, North Carolina, Houston, and Purdue.

There is something I recently noticed in basketball that I don’t get and that, to me, is stupid and a very bad look. It is the protruding of the tongue outward and downward until it actually touches the chinny chin chin. It is generally done after “knocking down*” a three pointer, especially if it is from far behind the arc. The player seems to be saying “there, take that you asshole.” I first noticed Caitlin Clark make this tongue gesture…a terrible look for an otherwise classy female athlete. Now I’m seeing more and more players doing this.
Can someone explain to me why this is somehow cool? Is it the equivalent of giving someone the finger? or saying “fuck you and the horse you rode in on?”

His primary contention appears to be that civilization is like a poison, killing and suffocating the planet. He believes that eventually industrialized modern civilization will die and be replaced by communal agrarian societies similar to those that existed in the past. He wrote a book called Endgame and I was able to access an excerpt from it about an oak he once saw in NYC that was five hundred years old. The tree was ultimately cut down because a homeowner was afraid one of its branches would fall and damage his roof.
