A mighty nausea wells up across the land as the awful day cometh. Who will receive the black spot of fate on Tuesday? I wouldn’t want to be him or her on that dreadful day. The flagship of Modernity has lost its vaunted mojo and nobody knows what to do about it as the USS-USA pitches and yaws into the maelstrom.

Much opinion “out there” contends that we will have to suffer an election overtime, with the results contested on every hill and molehill from sea to shining sea. That scenario suggests various outcomes, all of them pretty bad: 1) the election is once again relegated to a Supreme Court case, only this time it ends up a 4-4 tie. Constitutional crisis time. 2) Perhaps as a function of No. 1, it ends up in the US House of Representatives. The catch is: members aren’t limited to Trump or HRC. They can vote for whoever they like. 3) A lot of web chatter has President Obama invoking some sort of emergency with the election postponed until some conclave of political viziers can figure a way out of it. Unlikely, but possible.

FBI Director James Comey’s eleventh hour reprieve of Hillary in the email server case sent an odor of rotting carp wafting across the political landscape. Like, his peeps actually vetted 650,000 emails in a week? I’m sure. Of course, the FBI does not issue indictments; that’s AG Loretta Lynch’s job over at the Department of Justice. The FBI only makes criminal referrals to such. But this puts too fine a point on the matter because the much more serious issue is the Clinton Foundation case, and the arrant sale of influence while HRC ran the State Department.

That currently overshadowed case is not closed. It sends up the odor not of a single rotting carp but of an entire whale pod dead on the beach. Half the emirs in Arabia dropped millions on the foundation to facilitate arms deals or to influence policy at State, and that was only part of what looks exactly like a classic racketeering operation. The Clinton Foundation story is not going away anytime soon and it will suck all the air out of the public arena for as far ahead as anyone can see when Hillary is in the oval office.

All of that obscures the gathering calamity in banking and finance that drives the waiting, whirling maelstrom. Thanks to eight years of central bank experiments, the engines of capital are hopelessly gunked up with political additives like QE and ZIRP™. Nothing is priced correctly, especially money. It’s all kept running on an ether of accounting fraud. We can’t come to grips with the resource realities behind the fraud, especially the end of cheap oil. And the bottom line is the already-manifest slowdown of global business. The poobahs of banking pretend to be confounded by all this because everything — their reputations, their jobs, their fortunes — depends on the Potemkin narrative that ever-greater economic expansion lies just around the corner.

Not so. What waits around the corner is a global scramble for the table scraps of the late techno-industrial banquet. Scrambles like that are liable to foment kinetic conflict. Neither Hillary or Trump appear to have a clue what this means and so they are likely to misinterpret the true signals amid all the noise and start an unnecessary war. Hillary is already hard at it with her cawing over supposed “Russian hackers” in the election.

The tragedy of Trump is that he represented a roster of legitimate grievances but argued them so poorly and then betrayed them with behavior so oafish and crude that he often looked not sane enough to hold high office. His partisans brushed that aside, saying it was good enough that he personified a giant “fuck you” to the political establishment. No, that wasn’t good enough because in the process he de-legitimized the issues.

For instance, There are excellent arguments for a “time-out” from immigration. Congress acted on that in 1925, after a half-century flood of immigration needed to man the factories of the early 20th century. The consensus on that policy change was arrived at with minimal rancor — and just in time, by the way, for the Great Depression, when manufacturing employment crashed. We’re also in for a collapse of activity, only this time it won’t be the few remaining factory workers. It’ll be everyone from the McDonalds counter jockeys to the bond packagers of Goldman Sachs.

The establishment will get its “fuck you” anyway. I do go along with the argument advanced by others that it would probably be better for Hillary to win, because that way the right people (the gang already in power) will be blamed for the descent into the maelstrom and will be expeditiously swept away.

Just about anything may rise up across America after that — the true corn-pone Nazi who succeeds Trump in the meshuggeneh branch of conservative politics… a second civil war… or a World Made By Hand. I detect a general awareness that the country must pass through some epic ordeal to straighten itself out. Well, here it is, just in time or the holidays.

Me? I’m going to write-in my vote for Homey D. Clown, because he don’t mess around.

“2) Perhaps as a function of No. 1, it ends up in the US House of Representatives. The catch is: members aren’t limited to Trump or HRC. They can vote for whoever they like.”

No, that’s not exactly true. Here is the relevant passage of the 12th Amendment, which reformed presidential elections.

“The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President.”

Unless Evan McMullin wins Utah or Gary Johnson wins New Mexico, the states where they are most likely to get electoral votes, or the faithless elector in Washington goes through with his threat to vote for Bernie Sanders, the House of Representatives will have to chose between Trump and Clinton. Even if all of the above happens, the House will still chose only among three. McMullin, the former CIA agent and proxy for the Deep State, will get the nod as Utah has six electoral votes to New Mexico’s five. In any case, I’d give the advantage to Trump because of the next part.

“But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice.”

More congressional delegations have Republican majorities than Democratic ones, so Trump would win unless McMullin qualifies and the Deep State prevails. Given the FBI’s behavior, I doubt the security apparatus has its act together enough to make that happen.

You’re right, neither of them do. In the case of Trump, this showed up over the weekend in his proposal for a grandiose space plan that puts Newt Gingrich to shame. If he had any idea about what a future of resource depletion would mean for a space program that ambitious, he would propose something just as impressive sounding that might actually do something on Earth. Then again, I’m a space enthusiast and I actually like his idea, although rooting for Trump to win so that it would be implemented is like hoping for the alternative history in “The Man in the High Castle” to be real so there could be commercial SSTs in the early 1960s. The cost is too high.

Speaking of dystopian science fiction, Bill Maher praised Hillary Clinton a couple of weeks ago as the “cold, technocratic boss lady in a pantsuit” from movies like “Hunger Games: Mockingjay,” “Divergent,” and “The Giver.” Yes, he was comparing her favorably to the villains and saying that was exactly what the U.S. needed. Well, it beats being ruled by Donald Trump as Immortan Joe from “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

Jim, I’m not sure about you, but I can’t wait for tomorrow to be over. I can’t take it any more. I miss the coverage of The Mass Shootings and Cops Shooting Black People. All of that Great Entertainment has been put on hold for coverage of the latest Trump Rally or Clinton Stump Speech, or coverage of Comey’s latest pronouncements or coverage of Hillary’s Server Issue or another Trump Locker Room Talk tape or — you name it.

      The Clown & The Crook

      • K-Dog November 7, 2016 at 10:13 am #

Yes, it is curious how the mass shootings and black shootings have been put on hold until the election is over. I don’t think you were suppose to notice.

        • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 1:57 pm #

Huh? What are you talking about? A White guy shot a few cops the other day In Iowa. ISIS has asked for mayhem on election day. And Chicago Blacks continue to genocide each other.

America is simply too big for ordinary people to get a handle on. You’re smart, but very busy and also manacled by ideology. So you often end up just as wrong as the hoi polloi.

I am not lying. It’s gone. I spent four hours writing it today, and all for [not]. – Cold

          I hate when that happens.

If I am planning to write a long blog comment I often do it in an email addressed to myself which I save as a draft several times as I proceed with my composition.

BTW, the expression is all for naught.

          • K-Dog November 7, 2016 at 12:35 pm #

            Q. Shtik that was rude, I spotted all for naught instantly myself, but pointing it out is kicking a man when he is down.

Spending four hours on your blog and having the deep state come along and clean it out majorly sucks and don’t even tell me that majorly is not a word. You might make a mistake if it happened to you too!

It is not as bad as writing cylindrical read errors onto your hard drive though! They can do that and that costs money.

I’m also unable at present to get YouTube on my TV, and I’ve never had this problem before. There’s a large amount of dangerous, near revolutionary, talk going on there opposed to Hillary. It would not surprise me if its been censored. More blackouts may be coming. We are now the “Disunited” States.

        • EvelynV November 7, 2016 at 7:02 pm #

Can’t imagine the excoriation you would heap on some politician of your choice who was stupid enough to waste four hours of the taxpayers’ money writing a blog and not doing periodic loss limiting backups.

It’s all of a piece. The same general incompetence as that of the average ranting murikan who spends hours a day sitting in their own stink dumping their mind enemas on the webs.

What a stinking pity your no doubt precious *hack – cough – puke* words were lost.

          • Cold N. Holefield November 8, 2016 at 6:14 am #

Turns out multiple copies were backed up. It was only the most recent one that was being erased. It happened several more times and each time I had to copy & paste the next oldest revision because WordPress wouldn’t allow me to do it via their “button.” And once I copied & pasted, I had to reformat it again which is a pain in the ass.

You sound like a real Sweetheart. I’m guessing you haven’t had your pussy grabbed in a while, maybe never. Don’t be so distraught & forlorn about it — most women haven’t had their pussies grabbed, but if The Donald miraculously becomes POTUS, maybe all that will change. He will give rise to generations/hordes of Pussy Grabbers and women will be satisfied once again. Mad Men II.

Also, by implication of your sentiment and as a necessary extension of your logic, JHK must have been lying about his DDoS attack this past Summer, or he was stupid not to protect himself from such a likelihood. You are a REAL venomous one — I’m guessing Canadian or Kiwi. A real viper. And the “k” when referring to America is a dead-giveaway you’re a Jane Hamsher/Information Clearing House failed Lefty from days of yore who still feels a need to inject her embitterment into everything and everybody that raises her easily exercised ire.

    • Zoltar November 7, 2016 at 11:20 am #

You do understand that the Deep State already has a proxy running in this election, don’t you? Her name is Hillary.

      • Neon Vincent November 8, 2016 at 9:03 am #

I was wondering when someone would catch that. Of course she is, but McMullin makes a good backup for those Representatives who would never vote for her. Redundancy for the win!

    • miasmo November 7, 2016 at 8:07 pm #

Unless it’s an exact tie in the electoral college, the decision going to the House would by definition mean that a third candidate won at least one state. So in practical terms, yes, the House could pick someone besides Trump or Hillary. Also, there is a scenario by which Pence or Kaine could be acting President if the House fails to choose.

    • K-Dog November 8, 2016 at 11:07 am #

Yes you can. In comment 182 follow the link I posted and you can see me with my ballot!

You make the best case yet for Hillary, the rest of her partisans are insane true believers. I suspect they are not really true believers they are merely racketeers guarding their particular rice bowls in the latter days of the American Empire.

Anyway for 5 decades I have listened to people rapping against “Jeebus” and then look what the Left has coughed up, Hillary Clinton of Epstein Express fame and John Podesta of self mutilated hands fame (yes go look at his hands).

Well if Satan is real enough to the Left, then Jeebus must be real. Good job Left

I assume you don’t know about Podesta, the erstwhile chief of staff to Hillary. Oh what a crew they have assembled, but Wall St loves the Clinton Crime Family S&P up 1.6% Monday morning.

And as far as rumors go about silly satanic mumbo jumbo from John Podesta him and his brother’s descriptions fit to a tee the wanted for questioning in the Madeline McCann disappearance in Portugal in 2013.

But Trump said “Pussy” to some Bush kid over a decade a go.

        Thanks Left.

        • EvelynV November 7, 2016 at 7:04 pm #

And you are a brain dead fucker yourself. What Trump expressed was his being OK with grabbing the crotch of your daughter if she was pretty enough to appeal to him.

  5. MDG November 7, 2016 at 9:30 am #

“Like, his peeps actually vetted 650,000 emails in a week? I’m sure. ”

Comey said that the emails were duplicates of other emails already reveiwed by the FBI. Lawyers routinely use electronic discovery programs to aid in reviewing e-mails and other digital records. One of the most useful features of those programs is that they identify and remove duplicate emails, which can save countless hours of review time. So yes, it is entirely plausible that Mr. Comeys team used one of these programs to vet the 650,000 emails.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 2:06 pm #

But unlikely. She’s as guilty as sin as are the rest of them. If one goes, they all are in danger, much like pulling a thread. Comey has betrayed his office. Hopefully renegade agents will continue to submarine her and the rest of this Satanic Cabal.

    Sore throat Jim?

Nope – sorry – the Fat Lady has had a tracheotomy and is trying to sing with one of the newest electro-larynx speech aids. Mozart it aint.

Additionally, a result of this fantastical electoral silly season, the Fat Lady has also had to have an ostomy bag attached due to failure of the excretory system and the overload of toxic waste emanating from the body politic. (The fine folks in the “health care” industries are merrily providing the patient with every sort of client need to be sure however ObamaCare premiums will be raised to cover the billing shortfall and the medical doctor’s new Bentleys.)

Should be an outstanding finale tomorrow. Optimally like the final Commendatore scene in Don Giovanni.

    • sprawlcapital November 7, 2016 at 2:21 pm #

      PQ–. . . the Fat Lady has had a tracheotomy . . .
More likely that would be a laryngectomy (I did not check the spelling), which is removal of the vocal chords. I think with a tracheotomy the person would still be able to speak just by sealing the opening in the neck with their hand, thus directing air over the vocal chords, so no electronic speech generator would be needed. Pretty gruesome, isn’t it?

      • pequiste November 8, 2016 at 12:41 am #

Yes you are correct Sprawl: the larynx cut out, usually due to cancer……..

I used tracheotomy (the old hole in the throat) because when I was growing up there was a old guy in the neighborhood who had the electrolarynx device due to throat cancer and also a hole in the throat for breathing and also smoking the occasional coffin nail as he did not quite get the message that smoking can and will fuck-you-up good. All the kids were fascinated by the old guy with his “robot” voice monotone buzzing and that occasional cigarette being puffed on through his throat hole. Most adults were repulsed. He had a saying that when something was awful it was “as funny as a tracheotomy.”

Mr. K, if it was just my wife and me, I’d be more that ready for a “World Made by Hand.” Actually, we have no survival skills, so we’d soon be dead if the nuke didn’t hit us first. But I have kids. The only chance, small as it may be, to avoid the world of your excellent dystopian novels, is to take a walk on the wild side and elect Trump. But, as persecuted hero Julian Assange tells us: “Trump will not be permitted to win.”

    • sprawlcapital November 7, 2016 at 10:17 am #

Iowa is predicted to go for Trump by a large margin, so I have the luxury of voting my conscience, third party, without it making a difference in the result.

I could support Trump on the issues of immigration and bad trade deals, but as has been said before about one of the candidates or the other, he has more baggage than Delta Airlines. Hillary, on the other hand, has more baggage than the Berlin Airlift.

If Hillary wins, I think there will be enough citizens not yet subdued by Paxil, Zoloft, or Prozac to make her attempts at governing seem not just lame, but pathetic. Like JHK, I kind of, sort of, hope she wins. She deserves the sorry fate that will be the Oval Office.

        • sprawlcapital November 7, 2016 at 2:40 pm #

Yes my home is in Des Moines proper, on what I call the outer edge of the inner city. Many nice homes like ours, but also some blight. The people with enough money, mostly white, live in the far out suburbs, on what was recently farmland. They thus show what they think of diversity.

I used to sign my comments something like “From Des Moines, Iowa, the Sprawl Capital of the World.” That’s because the best farmland in the world is in central Iowa, where Des Moines is located; and urban sprawl is destroying that land–for all practical purposes, forever.

Land here is the best in the world for farming for two reasons: the incredibly rich soil, and the rainfall, which makes irrigation unnecessary. Granted, there is good land in the Central Valley of California, but without irrigation water brought in at great expense from several states distant, it is too dry to produce a good crop.

What makes anyone think that an “epic ordeal” will result in the country “straightening itself out” ?
Whatever gets straightened out in the end won’t be the country we grew up with, but something else or “somethings else” occupying the same land mass.

    • K-Dog November 7, 2016 at 10:26 am #

Brains are wired for cornicopianism. Like children we want to believe in happy endings and an “epic ordeal” is a trial by fire with a happy ending. It is just our brains doing what they do best, deceiving us and making us believe that reality always has a sweet chewey center even when it does not.

The truth is that there is no epic ordeal before us from which we can ‘break on through to the other side’. Our future will be a long emergency without end. There is no other side.

  10. Piper Michael November 7, 2016 at 10:26 am #

    Good morning James,
Homey D. Clown? Ok then, you just voted for Hillary AND Trump, by default… even though your conscience is clear, as Ayn Rand said; You can ignore reality, but you cannot ignore the consequences of reality.

And I thought you were such a ‘reality’ guy?
But I do understand… I wrote in Mickey Mouse last time instead of voting for Romney, and thus, with 4 million others, assured another term of Obama. Just like in ’92 I voted for Perot, and thus assured the Clinton the First by a minority vote.

Either way, destiny assures we will get the Leader we deserve.
But with turnout numbers of people who’ve never voted before, and the mood on the street, I have a prediction for you, the Gomer Pyle election, you remember what Gomer was famous for saying?

    • K-Dog November 7, 2016 at 10:29 am #

Homey D. Clown? Ok then, you just voted for Hillary AND Trump, by default.

That is a thought stopper that has been stopping thoughts for at least fifty years. The true answer is no. A vote for Homey D Clown is actually a vote for:

      Homey D Clown!

A friend of mine, a foreigner here legally, had a question for me. He had come back from an event where funds were being raised for the young man severely burned in a crash recently. He wanted to know why, now that we have “universal coverage” under Obamacare, it was necessary for the friends and family of the patient to raise money. That’s a good question.
Trump said pussy eleven years ago, so now that issue is delegitimized?
Where were all these defenders of womanhood when Obama decided to force mentally disturbed men on women in changing rooms and bathrooms?
Speaking of the mentally disturbed, where did the pictures that were Huma’s stated reason for her divorce come from? Yes, they came from Anthony’s phone, or from the phone of the woman he was texting with, but she didn’t give them to the Post, and he certainly didn’t, so who did?
I see that the “victim” in the other texting episode in the news, now 16, has written a diatribe against James Comey which appeared in a thing called Buzzfeed. Actually, she didn’t; sixteen year old girls do not write or think that way, especially ones who are into texting dirty old men.
The people who habitually wallow in this sort of filth, and have the absolute power over the media, that they can put up any sort of distraction, deflection, or coverup and have it go unchallenged, are dangerous people.
Like your freedom to have a contrary opinion? Did you like your doctor?

    • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 2:12 pm #

The equation of the sins of Mr Trump and those of the Clintons is simply fatuous. People have no sense of proportionality any more after generations of media hype.

I must admit Trump probably did run some little people over and of course gave campaign contributions to Democratic politicians. Such sins are called “business” and the bribes are the cost of doing business in much of America. Now he says he wants to give back and is greedy for Americans to get their share. I say we give him his shot.

    • elysianfield November 7, 2016 at 2:41 pm #

“especially ones who are into texting dirty old men.”

Dirty old men? Allow me an insight. The only difference between clean old men and dirty old men is…judgment. Opportunity can be argued but Judgment defines the difference.

Over 20 years ago a book appeared.
It is ‘The End of Work’–Rifkin.

      I bought it thinking, UTOPIA.

Uh, no, more like 1984. Billions unemployed.
JHK looks at non renewable resources and ‘carrying capacity’ while Rifkin looks at robotics.
The Chinese and their slave labor wont be needed. However those Chinese billionaires will sit at the head of the table.

So the last 30 years of out sourcing were ‘just a blip’ on the way to a brave new world order.

I would like to see a robot trim a fruit tree intelligently, it will never happen! Never mind picking fruit with an eye for quality. I use a 12 ft orchard ladder and a 16 ft. orchard pole . Ai is cool but there is never gonna be a substitute for reason and common sense. A machine can build a car, I would like one to diagnose and tear down an engine, never mind replace a head gasket or weld a rusted frame where it was needed. How about going in the basement and fixing a leaky pipe? Call the robo plumber and tell him to find the leak, it is not going to happen. Try getting a robot to pull 200 ft. of hose, climb 4 flights, find the sweet spot and put the wet stuff on the red stuff. It ain’t gonna happen for a thousand years.

As an IT professional for decades I would like to reply to this statement: “Like, his peeps actually vetted 650,000 emails in a week?”
Certainly! What do they have to identify? Basically if the email comes
from Hillary Clinton or not to see if Hillary sent any classified emails which si the only indictable offense. In any email system it is relatively easy on just a normal personal computer to find all the email from any sender. With the FBI’s far more powerful computers it is even easier.
It also does not take that long to do a text search through thousands of text emails even just to search for whatever Hillary Clinton’s email address was wherever it was in the emails, whether the mail headers or the text. The mail headers are always in text hence easily searchable. So this is a Red Herring..
I am no Hillary Clinton fan, I planned from the start to vote for Jill Stein of the Green Party until Berne Sanders ran and then I gave him my money and my vote. But some of the attacks on Hillary are really out of line. Fellow progressives have also been unfair to her – if you read some of the Wikileaked emails you find that to her credit, Hillary Clinton, even in her overpaid speeches to the banksters insisted on her support for ending the carried interest loophole which allowed Hedge Fund cannibals like John Paulson to pay only 15% in taxes on an astonishing $1 Billion of income in just one year.
I do not understand why Kunstler has not backed the Green Transition plans of the Greens and Jill Stein or why he continues to repeat some of the right wing shibboleths long proven false. Kunstler bashed Bernie Sanders as well before he was stiffed out of the race by the Corporate Democratic machine.
We are living on this planet together whatever our race or where we happen to live at the moment and there is no telling where the chaos of Climate Change will strike next. For me we need to save all humanity and a civilized sustainable life, not just white American males or any other group.
We can only do that together.
The nuclear fallout from above-ground nuclear tests did not just stay in the American desert or South Pacific. It was found in the Arctic and all over the world. Pollution and planetary destruction knows no boundaries or walls…

Voter participation in all of America’s elections is pretty low. The question I have is will Comey’s decision energize and enrage Trump’s followers to put him over the top, or will it so demoralize them that Hillary wins by a landslide? We’ll soon find out. Personally, I was going to leave the vote for president and vice president blank, and do my civic duty by voting for all the other candidates, bond issues, etc. No more. I’d vote for Bozo the clown, if he were the Republican candidate if that will keep that mendacious woman from becoming president. In fact I will be voting for Bozo the clown’s brother.

AS JHK sez, the grand poobahs of banking PRETEND to be confounded.

They poobahs (and their oligarch cohorts) PRETEND because they would know that they fucked up royally, that the global regime of production and consumption that they built isn’t working and can’t possibly work.

And they know that the QE, ZIRP, NIRP sleight of hand and all the lever pulling from the almighty Fed are mere distractions from this central fact.

They would also know that the way out of this mess is akin to zig-zagging down a cliff with crumbly dirt and stones underfoot and a long, steep vertical drop. Extreme hazard, no guarantee of success.

Regardless, even if it was easy, the way down the precipice is unpalatable. It would mean that all the money they expended to buy Washington to get globalization done is lost. And they won’t contemplate that.

And it would involve two other things that they dismiss out of hand, paying Chinese workers enough to buy what they make and paying American workers enough to make what they buy. Re-localization, IOW which itself would cost money, money that only the poobahs and their oligarch cohorts have.

For the sake of self preservation I would think that the poobahs and oligarchs would embark on this mission right fucking now. IMO it’s the only way forward. Seriously, I think they’re fully aware too that it’s this way or the abyss.

But would they risk some of their fortune in order to preserve some of it? I doubt it, I think they’d rather the global economic and financial system collapse. The abyss is their choice.

I don’t think they’re willing to admit that they misconceived the post Cold War global economic system. I don’t think they’re willing to admit that they’re responsible for China’s rise as a world industrial power and military adversary.

I’ll bet they’re willing to set off a mad and deadly scramble after the crash. Why? I think each is confident that they would be the survivor and the other guy would be the dead man. Those carcasses floating in the river would be somebody else’s, not theirs.

Great to read you and Chris Hedges on Monday mornings and the wonderful insight each of you provide. You don’t agree as he is for Jill Stien and you are for Homey. But this week you do agree regarding your view “Just about anything may rise up across America after that — the true corn-pone Nazi who succeeds Trump in the meshuggeneh branch of conservative politics… a second civil war… or a World Made By Hand. I detect a general awareness that the country must pass through some epic ordeal to straighten itself out.” as Chris Hedges writes “The rise of Donald Trump is the product of the disenchantment, despair and anger caused by neoliberalism and the collapse of institutions that once offered a counterweight to the powerful. Trump gives vent to the legitimate rage and betrayal of the white underclass and working poor. His right-wing populism, which will grow in virulence and sophistication under a Clinton presidency, mirrors the right-wing populism rippling across much of Europe including Poland, Hungary, France and Great Britain. If Clinton wins, Trump becomes the dress rehearsal for fascism.” a dress rehearsal it tis. God help us?

Wallerstein wrote in the eighties that the 1960s was just a dress rehearsal for the social strife that awaits us.

Thank for you continued spot on analysis!

“But would they risk some of their fortune in order to preserve some of it? I doubt it, I think they’d rather the global economic and financial system collapse. The abyss is their choice.”

I’m certain that this will be their choice – even knowing what they must know! After all, they believe that they can leap off the edge of the precipice and will be saved by opening their golden parachutes. (Remember them?) When chaos comes to uncontrollable upheaval, they’ve either forgotten (or are in denial) that they will be the very first targets of retribution. Strange, that.

Your post ties in with what I had just pointed out to an analyst on the factions in the M.E. who enjoy pursuing their squabbles with deadly weaponry. …He simply hadn’t entertained the notion that perhaps the horror that the USA had brought to this circus was to *promote* and *provoke* instability and eternal political imbalance and non-consensus. I told him that including this little factor might make all the tangled chaos a bit clearer. (There are pipelines to be built, resources to be controlled and money to be made, after all.)

Messy, but preferable to losing some of their vast piles of loot.

    • routersurfer November 7, 2016 at 6:25 pm #

“That currently overshadowed case is not closed. It sends up the odor not of a single rotting carp but of an entire whale pod dead on the beach. Half the emirs in Arabia dropped millions on the foundation to facilitate arms deals or to influence policy at State, and that was only part of what looks exactly like a classic racketeering operation. The Clinton Foundation story is not going away anytime soon and it will suck all the air out of the public arena for as far ahead as anyone can see when Hillary is in the oval office.”

And that is the core of the matter for soon Trump will be back to playing golf. As the long emergency progresses the divide between those still able to get by and those not so lucky will widen into a vast gulf as those able to get by will have it very very good though their number will decline with time. Those not so lucky will simply be fucked and they will be legion. They will be me any you.

The spectre of corruption will hang heavy in the air as the inaugural oath is spoken and the hand is raised. In her mind the other hand will be behind her back with crossed fingers.

Corruption will fuel the trend of the fortunate and powerful to decline to in number yet to ever continue to increase in power and influence. The air will be sucked from the public arena and public issues will be lost in the din of long emergency sirens for eight long and painful years.

Trump’s plan will return vast number of jobs to America. And there is enough coal to fuel us for centuries. Nation states minimize the rot you see. Strong borders. Self sufficiency. Globalism is simply a cancer. Cancer cells hate strong borders, favoring rotting masses of poor defined cells.

      • sharonsj November 7, 2016 at 5:00 pm #

Trump has no plan. Nor will he return jobs to America–he’s busy outsourcing all his work right now when not hiring illegal aliens. As for coal, I guess you forgot about acid rain, dying miners, and climate change. This nation has many problems but hiring a self-absorbed huckster like Trump will solve none of them and, personally, I find everyone surrounding him, from his Dominionist VP to his creepy safari-hunting sons, downright scary.

      • routersurfer November 7, 2016 at 6:36 pm #

Return of jobs???? How can I become so optimistic? The only jobs will be farm work or prospecting in landfills. With coal we may rebuild the trains but a high tech army requires trace metals and minerals not found in the Americas. The industrialized state is over. The fork was put in the rust belt decades ago. China now builds the best and largest Super Computers, made with only Chinese made parts. We can no longer do that. We are importers. We do not even have the starter stock.

      • Elrond Hubbard November 7, 2016 at 10:21 pm #

Interesting you would say that, actually. People knowledgeable about technology (including one Edward Snowden, no slouch in the tech department) have assessed the effort of de-duplicating 650,000 e-mails as equal to an ‘overnight hackathon by an intern‘:

Dunno how big the 650,000 e-mails are in megabytes, but if we hazard 10K per e-mail that works out to ~6.2 GB of text. By contrast, Google had indexed 20 petabytes’ worth of data according to this article:

That was three years ago, so let’s say it has doubled since then, or 40 PB, which is nearly 6.8 million times the size of the e-mail cache from Carlos Danger’s phone. Yet that 40 PB of data is fully searchable within seconds and you get results literally keystroke by keystroke. In other words, today’s technology is easily equal to the task and the FBI surely has the resources to accomplish it. Yes, they could be lying, but scoffing proves nothing. More evidence is needed.

To paraphrase Theresa May, if you are a citizen of the world, you are a citizen of nothing and you don’t know the meaning of the word “citizen”.

What ruling elites tried to do for a couple generations and especially since the end of the Cold War was to invalidate the idea of family, community, culture, country. Why? It’s simple, such ideas get in the way of the elites making money. No, seriously, they see such things as obstructions, especially national borders that control movement of people and capital.

Family? You must be joking, get your ass to work, you are ON CALL 24/7. Community? Fuck off, per Thatcher, there’s no such thing. Culture? In the hands of white people, the vehicle for racism and religious stupidity. Country? As backward an idea as there is.

Er, at least as far as elites are concerned. The preferred method of the elite was ridicule and condescension. If you were for these outmoded ideas, you were uneducated, not a progressive, you were beyond help, a clinger to guns and religion.

What’s been happening lately is for various national leaders to call bullshit on the whole thing, those being Bernie and Trump on this side of the pond – though Bernie sold his soul – but on the other side of the water, Jeremy Corbyn and a raft of others all over Europe.

Global interdependence? Get lost, what about national firewalls in the event of economic collapse? Economic growth? Yeah, great, but people need to work and earn, it can’t be just for the top 10%. It can’t be just about the needs of the top tier and it can’t be just about money but about other things necessary for survival, a sense of self and community and societal cohesion.

If the elite showed brutal indifference to everyone’s else’s interests they can expect the same in return. What goes around comes around.

After the election it would be nice to start discussing some “structural’ issues every now and then. This is a fascinating essay from the great Thomas Frank on the notion of “vibrancy”:

“Others have spelled out the formula in more detail. We build prosperity by mobilizing art-people as vibrancy shock troops and counting on them to . . . well . . . gentrify formerly bedraggled parts of town. Once that mission is accomplished, then other vibrancy multipliers kick in. The presence of hipsters is said to be inspirational to businesses; their doings make cities interesting and attractive to the class of professionals that everyone wants; their colorful japes help companies to hire quality employees, and so on. All a city really needs to prosper is group of art-school grads, some lofts for them to live in, and a couple of thrift stores to supply them with the ironic clothes they crave. Then we just step back and watch them work their magic.”

    • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 2:45 pm #

As one who has been bringing up the “fuck you” argument here recently, good to see it addressed at least. What I am perplexed about is this sensibility people with a leftist background have. Mr. Kunstler has it too: “behavior so oafish and crude”. Even though I am of a Leftist background myself, I just do not have an antenna for this. When I am mixing it up with (leftist type) people this kind of thing is always brought up. I don’t know if this is some aspect of political correctness, but it is the elevation of an abstract ethic of manners over ideas. Mr. Kunstler can at least see there is idea behind the rhetoric as he points out about immigration, but with most it stops before then. What you get is nodding agreement of facile sensibilities, while a politician who speaks from what he feels and thinks can actually lift people to new ideas. That is what Trump has done. The conservative proles are now newly behind anti-corporate, anti-war and anti-establisment ideas. What is it where people cannot just see that it is worthwhile to support the good over the bad, taking a stand? So far our demise into dystopia has not erupted but has been a slow bloodletting. What if Hillary gets in and things do not come to a head…again, blame is not assigned, dissent continues to be obscured into the back alleys as the internet gets subsumed into the MSM conglomeration? Then you notice too much blood has been drawn and there is nothing left but your own torpor. I say throw a fuck you bomb at the putrid Establishment. I already voted for Trump…and I don’t think I have to explain to people here that he or any President will not solve our problems.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 3:07 pm #

Yes, their condemnation of Trump is the triumph of style and tribe over substance. And as ever, they blithely fail to observe that the Corporations believe and support most of what they believe. Every little SJW is an unpaid public relations intern.

And of course the DNC Cult itself is all this and more. If Buck got a baby’s head in the mail from Hillary, he would be beside himself with joy, eagerly putting it at the top of his Christmas Tree (if he only had one…).

Laceration — I am not a Leftie, so fuck you on that. Donald Trump could have gotten his points across without acting like an eleven-year-old, but he is too incoherent. There’s no question his behavior made him look unfit for high office. — JHK

Mumford, following Jacob Burkhardt, predicted the rise of the “Great Simplifiers”. They are inevitable and salutary when men refuse to act. So many sophisticated men could have come forward to say what needed to be said – but none of them did. Too frightened or simply too owned. Few men could overcome this and only One Man has. We support Him. We can do nothing else.

Btw, did you ever watch The Apprentice? Completely different energy. Have you heard his later speeches, like the classic Gettysburg? No incoherence there. He read from a teleprompter and he did so very well, ad libbing at times. There are many Trumps. I think he is far more sophisticated than you imagine. He gave the beaten down White Peasants the Tribal Leader they needed. God bless him.

He himself said in an interview, that he knew a dozen people off the top of his head who could govern America well as Executive. But, he said, none of them could get elected.

        Mr, Kunstler,
With all respect…Trump’s buffoonery netted him, by some accounts, billions of dollars in free advertising from his detractors. This election cycle was a real-time example of bad publicity being better than none. He was a spectacle…Jerry Springer-esque, The spectacle netted him the Republican nomination…besting a large field of near-respectable candidates…not to mention succeeding in the nomination despite the enmity of the majority of the Republican leadership. The campaign was not pretty, nor civil, nor respectable…and yet, here we are.

Is Trump truly a clown, or has the media been played? Is there even a 10% chance that his lack of coherence was an act? Have we witnessed a new paradigm? Elections as low entertainment?

Is Trump room-temperature IQ stupid, or brilliant. I don’t know.

        • Frankiti November 7, 2016 at 8:44 pm #

He’s a hustler forged in the crucible of NYC… and an entertainer. This is a big hustle and the marks are many. The irony being that he is acting the part of the true, the throwback, the vintage American politician. Speaking simply, talking trash, taking shots, swinging for the fences. He brought it back. Away from the open hand gestures and insincere PC gobbledygook that people can no longer tolerate. He brought back a fashion, he brought it back… again.

Where Clinton is known to be unfit but only rather looks, or appears to be fit, on account of her and Bill’s incredible ability to deflect, deny and, divorce themselves from their many crimes. This is because people, and they most surely know it, prefer to suspend disbelief, deny reality, sequester the truth than to confront it. They would rather believe the lie (religion) than digest the truth.

JHK, I did not state you were a Leftie. The most I did was sort of infer you have a leftist background, which I am pretty sure is true. I wrote that you too had the sensibility that I was perplexed by–maybe its a vestigial thing. I would never insult you so grievously, I have too much respect for you. I have read all your Monday blogs since 2005 or something and many of your books. I am aware of the nuance and breadth of your thought and would never pigeonhole you as “Leftie” and did not mean to characterize your thought as such. Pardon me if it came off that way.
Trump comes off like William Jennings Bryan when compared to Bush II, so why is there another magnitude of vitriol about him… while he echoes populist themes?? This whole equivalence thing about how they both suck plays right into the hands of the status quo. There is no equivalence.

JHK says: ” better for Hillary to win, because that way the right people (the gang already in power) will be blamed for the descent into the maelstrom and will be expeditiously swept away.”

yea, swept away for 4 maybe 8 years and then her and/or her gang of enforcers return to do their corporatists controller’s bidding. Rinse and repeat.

Dems/Repubs whatever. 2 sides of the same corrupt bird. Even a Trump, as much of an outsider as he may be. is still only a few more degrees off of the “acceptable center”.

If voting actually changed anything, it would be illegal. What we get is the USA version of Chinese elections where you get to choose only approved members of the Communist Party. Voting for Candidate A or Candidate B is in the final analysis creates only a distinction without a difference… maybe a difference of small degrees.

Really, the corporations largely dictate the strategic direction of the USA. A few scandals here and there; a politician being removed; or some wanderings off the defined direct path is no big deal in the final analysis for the corporations.

And, tou don’t get to vote for them. You get to choose which approved sock puppet they either want or will tolerate.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 3:10 pm #

Trump is a Nationalist. Yuge difference. He believe in Corporations and International Trade, but only under the auspices of the Nation State. The Government does not give up its place to the Corporations in other words. He’s not a Plutocrat, but a Fascist. Yuge difference, 180 degrees.

Wop supposedly means with out papers, but Wikipedia says that is false because papers weren’t required and Acronyms didn’t become vogue until after WW2 and Space program. Dick Gregory says Honky comes from white visiting black whorehouses and since they wouldn’t want to be seen they would drive their car up and honk, and some one would come and park their cars. The fat lady singing allegedly comes from the robust female sopranos in operas i.e. the opera isn’t over till the fat lady sings. She’s a bombshell comes from the Miss Atomic Bomb beauty pageant they used to have in Las Vegas when nuclear bomb explosions was local entertainment and they would have Bomb Parties like we have Hurricane parties. Funny I’ve never seen any home movies of atomic bombs on youtube and I’ve looked.

Presentation of Trump as “anti-system candidate,” is fundamentally wrong. He is quite systemic, well integrated into the American elite, but the fact is that within the American elite now there is unprecedented in cruelty internal struggle between the two camps, whose principle interests, images of the future, and even ideology are far from being the same.

The fundamental problem lies in the fact that there is simply not enough money for all, and it’s impossible to find a way to compromise.

Trump is being supported by developers (including the “infrastructure”), oil, coal miners, some pharmacological lobby and part of the agro-business, as well as vanishingly small formation of manufacturers who did not move their facilities to China or Mexico.

For example, the Republican nominee promises to take away from the military “trillions” that Washington spends on international interventions, and spend it on infrastructure projects in the United States that causes the wild enthusiasm from developers and the whole building lobby, but also becomes a cause of hatred in a significant portion of companies that are involved with defense budget.

Such unsolvable conflicts lurk behind every group that supports Trump or Clinton. And you need to add an ideological component, which is linked to the fact that part of the American elite has quite tangible religious identity (if you want, “the religious tribalism,” which should not be confused with a real commitment to a particular religion).

Now, the conflict within the elite has a religious connotation including the fact that the inner circle of Clinton is known for its, to put it mildly, dislike of Catholics (it was made public through letters published by “Wikileaks”) and making plans for a “Catholic Spring” (similar to the “Arab spring”).

It is easy to notice that all these conflicts are not situational but fundamental in nature, and they are not going anywhere after the elections, regardless of their results. In practice this means:

    Next US president will be weak. His/her legitimacy is called into question, and at least half of the population and a significant part of the elites will hate him/her;

Solving the problem of legitimacy through repression is possible, but it will be very costly. We know from our own Russian experience that repression improve the manageability of the system, but beat out of it a large number of key managers, which are difficult to replace quickly and even more difficult to find a quality replacement.

    Moreover, the groups that are being repressed have a bad habit of exerting revenge, sabotage, and attracting foreign players to support their struggle for existence. In sum, these factors support the first conclusion. Even in the case of successful winner of repression towards the defeated system will be seriously weakened, and in the event of unfortunate circumstances may even collapse into a full-fledged civil war;

The probability of the US falling into “institutional coma” due to which the state power structure actually can not run the country, should not be underestimated, and it is admitted even by such experts as Paul Krugman – an ardent supporter of Clinton – in an interview with Bloomberg: “The US is dangerously close to the failed state”

Regardless of who or what is causing the polarization of American society and elites (here the Russian factor should not be overestimated), the United States acquires an important feature of Third World countries (or “banana republic”, or a failed state): in one country begin to live two communities, in parallel ideological, informational, and economic realities.

More than half of the public do not trust the official authorities and the media. The American system was originally built by the imperial patterns of Rome (claims to be a New Rome and funny borrowing of Rome symbolic like “Senate” and “Capitol”), but the system can not function adequately if about half of citizens of the empire and much of the elite loses respect for its basic government institutions. If this happens, the US instead of Second Rome turns into a Third World.

At least part of the expert community and the media in the West believe that in the US election Putin will win anyway. As an example of this position, you can take one of the last articles in the Financial Times, which is entirely devoted to a discussion of how effectively Putin exert a “revenge on Clinton” for her support in the elections 2011-2012 of Russia’s non-system opposition. The main conclusion Financial Times:

Whatever the outcome of the election, Russians have already achieved important success. The next president will be the president of a very polarized society afflicted with conspiracy theories and skepticism with regard to important institutions, including the FBI. If Mr. Putin was looking for revenge, he already had his.

  40. ozone November 7, 2016 at 2:50 pm #

    JHK sez;
“Much opinion “out there” contends that we will have to suffer an election overtime, with the results contested on every hill and molehill from sea to shining sea. Unlikely, but possible.”

I’d say that all three of these particular scenarios are unlikely. If we look back into the murky past, some 16 years, we see that the White House was infested with an evil scourge. A more scabrous, dangerous, and destructive gaggle of evil motherfuckers had never been installed by the rubes and court-minions posing as citizens of the US of A.

…YET, after a short protestation of, “Hey, you forgot to count all the votes, or, er… some shit like that”, the populace sank back into contented slumber only to find an abrupt awakening when buildings in NYC crumbled into their footprints and the global war of terror commenced in front of their terrified and gullible eyes. Since then, capitulation, habituation and a lethal torpor spread with the passing years and the loss of memories as to “how it used to be”. This will continue until some REAL pain is felt by at least 15% of the populace and hope is abandoned as they realize that, yes Virginia, we have passed over the threshold of Hell. Only then will the give-a-shit (and its brother, nothing-to-lose) factor burst to the fore and all bets and contracts are ‘off’.

Or did he put it over his face as he was dying of a heart attack? C’mon – his killer left it there to mock us. What are we going to do about it? We can’t make the Media announce it. Or the police investigate it. Or even a county coroner do an autopsy. The local announced it was a heart attack over the phone. That was the end of it. Now, that’s power.

First off, Snowden is a glorified delinquent. A delinquent with skills on a computer with a Big Gulp at hand. Big f*****g deal. He’s not some computing genius, or a programmer, or a scientist. Riddle me this, if Comey could in fact vet all those emails in a few minutes “with a laptop” as Snowjob suggests, wouldn’t the more prudent decision by him have been to vet first and THEN announce the reopening???? O, and MOST likely, perhaps he did, but it was squashed nonetheless i.e., the true conspiracy.

      • cowboy14 November 7, 2016 at 10:08 pm #

Yes, it would have been more prudent to vet first (as most commentators say).

No, “Snowjob” isn’t saying he personally could actually vet in a couple minutes. He is a bureaucrat who had to have his people do it their own thorough way, apparently a week rather than a day.

Just because people in positions of power occasionally lack prudence, or make mistakes, or bow to political pressure does not mean there is a grand conspiracy to make perfect sense of it all.

        See what orbit7er said above:

“Just about anything may rise up across America after that — the true corn-pone Nazi who succeeds Trump in the meshuggeneh branch of conservative politics… a second civil war… or a World Made By Hand.

Why now all three in sequence?

    Presented for your contemplation:

Hillary Clinton becomes the 45th president of these United States. About 18 months into her term, the financial system comes unglued for the last time. She spends the remaining 2 1/2 years attempting the same old solutions (QE, negative interest rates, bail out the big banks).

In 2020, the Republican party nominates someone who has all of xenophobic, nationalistic, autocratic policies as Trump, but presents himself as smoothly as Ronald Reagan. He is defeated in a contest as close as Gore/Bush but settled by a supreme with no credibility with the people who supported this yet unknown Republican.

Violence breaks out all over the country as the “disenfranchised” white population attacks minorities and government offices. This deteriorates into civil war.

The resulting 10 year conflict destroys the remaining energy and transportation infrastructure and leaves the surviving people in “a world made by hand”.

    Cheery enough for you?

    • Janos Skorenzy November 7, 2016 at 7:55 pm #

    • BackRowHeckler November 7, 2016 at 10:43 pm #

“as the ‘disenfranchised’ white population attacks minorities …”

Hey SteveO, the main goal is to make ‘disenfranchised’ whites the minority population inside the US thru massive 3rd world immigration. Its been the goal since the mid 1960s. in a decade or so all demographic goals will have been met.

That’s when the fun will really begin. Why should Muslims, Indians from Latin America, Asians and Africans give a sh-t about the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution? Those are white mans documents (besides, they’re racist). No, it won’t be ‘disenfranchised’ whites attacking minorities, but the former minority, now the majority, blaming whitey for everything that has gone wrong in a 3rd World sh-thole that resembles Camden, NJ or southside Chicago, and hunting him down like dogs.

The first exit polls from foreign places for voting, in which elections have already begun, show a convincing victory of Trump abroad with a score of 49 to 44 percent.

Despite this, most likely, on November 9, all world’s media will show us a convincing victory of Clinton.

Accordingly, in circumstances where the American people are deprived of the right to vote, their reaction can be very unpredictable, Donald Trump should strengthen his protection, and Russia should think about how to help the American people in their struggle for their own freedom in the framework of the international law.

This is nothing but a load of cowardice wrapped up in absolute disingenuousness. Anybody paying attention UNDERSTANDS that the “gang already in power” are prepared to remain in power by working in COLLUSION with the government (of Clinton Inc.) to maintain the pantomime of a functioning free market financial system. They all get rich(er) and we get enough to keep the torches and pitchforks down.

In Russia pro-Clinton propaganda on one channel complements the pro-Clinton propaganda on the other channel, suggesting that it is Russia where the Clintonites intellectual center is located. The case went so far ridiculous, as the whole world is convinced that Putin appoints the presidents of the USA, but can not dismiss or at least rein in TV personality and director Konstantin Ernst.

Hillary is a nuclear war at best, and at worst Russia’s rejection of Christ.

A rejection of Christ for Russia is death – Byzantium perished as a result of the Council of Florence, and not from the Fourth Crusade.

And recent events in the United States show this clearly enough.

I refer to the Democratic Party as the “coyote party”, drawing a similarity between its political pandering to the Latino vote and the human trafficking practice by its namesake south-of-the-border. Only difference between the two is the profit currency realized in the transaction; cash south of the border while on our side here up north the DNC manages to shift the voting demographic heavily in its favor for generations.

Neat, huh? The captive media (distinguished from journalism) ignores completely the contradiction inherent in the DNC’s promise of amnesty, pathway to citizenship, and, hence, the vote for the 20-30 illegal aliens. Seems obvious: immigration and border enforcement laws enacted by a Congress elected by the citizenry to act on its behalf are simply allowed to default to a new voting block now being cultivated by Democratic Party’s betrayal of national sovereignty and “give away” of privileges which by law are intended to be exclusive to citizenship.

“In fairness”, argues the DNC; a shell game play to hide the obvious fact that illegal aliens aren’t victims but perpetrators of crime against national sovereignty. This feint-of-hand reversal of guilt shields the fact that by stealing into our country the illegals have gained advantage for themselves and their children beyond prospects back in their nation of origin. “Fairness” would be an expression of gratitude to the US citizenry for its tolerance rather than demand for legitimacy as a political force this side of the border.

A vote for the Democratic Party ticket amounts to collusion in treasonable act — betrayal of national sovereignty and the principle of representational democracy.

      • Cavepainter November 8, 2016 at 7:39 am #

20-20 million illegal aliens, I meant.

          • Frankiti November 8, 2016 at 11:14 am #

Humans are migratory. There is no stopping them. People want stability during their lifetime, but change is ever present. The US, as are most governments, is but a momentary aberration… they come and go. The US is a state without a true nation, perhaps making it worse. Mutts finding their pound disintegrating… and nobody wants them.

      • Buck Stud November 8, 2016 at 10:43 am #

“…pandering to the Latino vote” –LOL.

What an ironic lament in the aftermath of 35 years of GOP cheap labor importations and Ronald Reagan’s illegal immigration acquiescence back in 86 I believe.

But there you have it, the party of “personal responsibility” denying responsibility for reaping what they sow.

      • Janos Skorenzy November 8, 2016 at 2:10 pm #

Yeah, germs are migratory too and stopping them is the key to health. Your skin is a Wall you see. It keeps you you and what’s outside, outside. Pretty basic stuff except for the invincibly ignorant.

And yes Frank, nothing last forever. The Walls will be breached and the national body will sicken and die at some point. Does that make you happy? Or is your attitude just one of sublime indifference. One of my old girlfriends had a huge issue about watering plants because they were going to die anyway. So instead of watering them, she would just watch them die and listen to the conflicting voices within her head. Guess what her therapist recommended?

Get some new plants and water them. So I don’t apologize for talking down to you – you give me no choice.

No dice, Cavepainter. A vote for anything or anyone in this election or any election is legitimating an illegitimate process. It’s a Joke — a Sick Joke. Your vote does not matter except for its pretense. It doesn’t give you access and representation. America is not Democratic. It is not a Democracy. It’s not even a Democratic Republic as it claims to be. It’s the illusion of such. In actuality, it’s a decaying, corrupt, sinister and sadistic Plutocratic Oligarchy and JHK is dead wrong when he implies this corrupt-to-the-core Plutocratic Oligarchy will somehow miraculously reform itself when things get much worse. That’s impossible, even with Alien Intervention. The Plutocratic Oligarchy cannot be reformed because it is doing what is in its very basic nature, so it isn’t something that’s deformed and needs to be reformed. It IS what it IS.

And EvelynK, I spoke with The Donald this morning and expressed to him your comments here, and he had one word for me, and you and everyone else who cares to read & listen. One word. No, not Plastics. Blood. He said, “you can see there’s Blood coming out of EvelynK’s eyes — Blood coming out of her wherever.” I know, I know, I told him it was more than likely you had already achieved menopause, but he said it didn’t matter. He said all women bleed from every orifice regardless of that silly thing they call menopause.

Sorry, EvelynK, that’s Trump’s Legacy that will pay him Dividends until his dying day.

    Go Trump TV!!!!!!

Yep, the South Africa Plan. A Small Enclave of an Ethnically Diverse Elite, surrounded by throngs upon throngs of factionalized Tribes, to include various Tribes of dispossessed Whites, squabbling over scraps amidst their Ghetto-Like Reservations. Mobility will be greatly restricted as you have no choice but to shelter in place on your “reservation” and within that “reservation” various factions war with one another for the top seat amongst the rubble. War Lords will rule the Underclass and will be bequeathed a bit more freedom & latitude by the Elite. The Elite will be untouchable and will socially & biologically & technologically advance to the point that the Underclass and The Elite will be, pretty much, two separate species. The Elite will begin to substantially transcend its biological limits and the Underclass will be perpetuated for The Elite’s amusement, and not much more.

When you vote this election, People, that’s what you will be voting for whether you want to admit it or not. Journey told you, “Don’t Stop Believing,” and you haven’t.

Ozone, indeed yes, in competent hands disorder has its uses. Incite strife between antagonistic factions and then use it as a pre-text for a divide and conquer incursion. Or, disorder as justification for a crack-down.

“Hooliganism” has an honored place in the legal (a contradiction in terms) lexicon of despotic regimes. A highly stretchable and adaptable term. How long before it’s seen here?

Already the perfumados marked a class of people as “deplorables”. Tattooed, dressed like clowns, lazy, ignorant, racist, obese, drug-abusing. What earthly good are they? They have no legitimate gripe, their values beyond the pale for any modern high-minded progressive, their lamentable state one of their own making. Repression? Why not?

Of course, given the errant blunderings of the American foreign policy establishment, or the howling misapprehensions of Deep State intelligence (again, a contradiction in terms), such interventions have a way of blowing up shortly after lift-off.

We see it over and over. Bomb, invade, occupy, arrest, bust heads, lose multitudes of dead and maimed, blow trillions, withdraw with ass in pail, vow to never do again, rinse, repeat, do it here. Do it here? Sure, why not?

I don’t know about you but IMO the intelligence of the alleged elite, whether we’re talking about the overly-wealthed Plutocrats or the Plutocrats’ preening bureaucratic clerisy, is highly mis-overestimated. As you say, when chaos steps over into uncontrollable upheaval they think that they can deploy golden parachutes (yes, I certainly do remember them). And they actually think the soldier boys will defend THEM. Such wishful thinking absurdity. Makes me laugh.

    • Frankiti November 8, 2016 at 11:28 am #

“…Plutocrats or the Plutocrats’ preening bureaucratic clerisy…” Brilliant. The soldier boys, or the American warrior class, where might they be? Well, it is now a job added to those that Americans won’t do, and there is a handy solution to that…

    • elysianfield November 8, 2016 at 11:29 am #

Why do you love this music? What does it have to do with eating, sleeping, sexing, defecating, or defending? Face the Fact: you have a God shaped hole in your heart. You couldn’t relate this at all unless you had a part in His Being. Trace that Golden Threat back to its source, which is yours as well.

Remember the Gregorian craze of some years ago? And how it was all utterly ethereal, lacking in this kind of power? It’s almost as if someone was trying to give an inaccurate picture of the Gregorian legacy. I wonder what people control Classical labels?

        • elysianfield November 8, 2016 at 5:47 pm #

I’ve been listening to recordings of Gregorian Chants since I was 18 and first exposed to them as a Freshman in college. I appreciate most music of the liturgy. I recently recommended to the readership a CD of Russian choral pieces. Favorite piece of Music? Ave Maria…Pavarotti’s rendition a particular favorite…could almost make me believe in God…and then there is Sheller’s “Ode to Joy”….

    • Janos Skorenzy November 8, 2016 at 2:21 pm #

And which tribe are you going to join? Or to put it more accurately, which tribe where you born into? Or to put it more simply, look down at your hands: what color are they?

How long do you think Reality is going to let you get away with your fantasy of being an Omniscient Narrator? A ghost floating about the battlefield? You and the rest of you guys. The Long Emergency is about incarnation and humility – which sounds much like humus. Coincidence?

When the shit hits the fan, the manure will hit the man ™. What he does with it, shows his character.

  59. volodya November 8, 2016 at 11:37 am #

Routesurfer, you said a magic word there. “Interest”. As in how do you charge interest on flesh eating zombies?

An excellent question. There are multitudes of these zombies staggering about, some gigantic like the federal government that owes 20 trillion, some pint-sized like over-indebted households.

There’s two takes on ZIRP and NIRP. One is that zero rates are the product of deliberate central bank suppression. The other is that zero rates are equivalent to the dangerously low blood pressure of a moribund patient.

Some say if the Fed and ECB didn’t force down rates there would be government and personal defaults galore and a calamity that would make the 1930s look like a pleasant Sunday in the park. Others say that zero rates are the necessary outcome of gutting consumer demand because of globalization (ie offshoring jobs to China).

Take your pick. One thing is certain, zero rates are the outcome of a global economy that can’t work anymore. As you say, the world of the rag-picker starts soon. We have some glimpses already. People hard-up because of this unworkable task-rabbity, gig economy are trying to make ends meet. Hence airbnb and uber.

“The soldier boys, or the American warrior class, where might they be? Well, it is now a job added to those that Americans won’t do, and there is a handy solution to that…”

I think we may have talked about this already but no matter, it’s a fascinating topic. History, the punisher, reaches out from the grave.

The Romans made use of mercenary soldiers for much of their history. Rome’s imperial border was way too long to set up fences or walls along the whole of it. So they used tribes that lived along the perimeter as border police. It worked for a long time.

That is, it worked until it didn’t. It worked because bordering peoples had reciprocal defense and trade arrangements with the Romans. They could depend on Roman legions descending on trouble spots and, in the meantime, they did good business with people inside the empire.

It stopped working because there was a many-headed throng that came thundering out of the Asian steppes. The loyalty of the border-landers, whether it was Germanic or otherwise, was to their own kin and clan, not to Rome. This is the lesson to be re-learned here.

When Roman legions abandoned Britain, the people there got busy fighting one another. Meantime, there were outsiders that wanted a slice of the green and fertile countryside.

What did the Britons do? They make the mistake of hiring Saxons (ie the semi legendary brothers Hengist and Horsa) to take up some of the burden of defense. And guess what happened? The two bros sent word that Britain was ripe for the picking and the conquest of Britain was underway.

Will modern day Americans pay attention? I doubt it. History is boring and irrelevant modern edumacators say. Not worth the time nor money. In this they are mistaken.

    • Frankiti November 8, 2016 at 7:38 pm #

It’s not even American’s country anymore. And it isn’t. The jobs outsourced, or H1-B Indians flown over, the borders opened, the State Department issuing immigrant visas by the millions… not even defending it depends upon Americans. A permanent resident can step in and man the drone. This is what happens to a state without a nation.

Seriously Barb, what the fuck is up with all these periods?

I used to express my annoyance with all the people who thought it was cool not to use any capital letters and now a new fetish arises: the overuse and incomprehensible placement of periods.

Nearly a year and a half ago Forbes columnist Ken Fisher explained a lengthy analysis from which he concluded the Democrats would not win the 2016 election. At that time he/we had no idea who the candidates would be. I reported that story here at CFN.

Over this past weekend a guy named Jim Rickards, an associate of David Stockman, came out with a convincing video explaining why the polls favoring Hillary were likely to be very wrong. His angle was to offer a short term trading strategy that had to be acted upon yesterday (Mon.) or today (Tues.). Wed. would be too late to act. Big money to be made if Trump won which Rickards predicted……but even if Hillary won some small money could be made.

Hillary has not conceded yet so I don’t want to get ahead of myself but I am ecstatic at the thought of all those NYT opinion writers squirming to explain “what the fuck happened??” Tops on that list, Paul Krugman.

Oh, and too bad for the cocksure annoying one, Asoka. He’ll be back in due time under a new handle.

I must add right here that we will all wake up tomorrow in the horror of “OMG, what have we wrought??” Trump truly is not fit to be President but then again nobody is. This will become apparent in much less than the fullness of time.

Be that as it may, let me be the first to suggest that Hillary go bake us some cookies.

This will go down as the biggest comeuppance for Liberals in my lifetime and will be known in Europe as Brexit 2.0.

Listening to the Talking Heads for the first time in a long time: They really are incredibly out of touch. Not really smarter than most people here, less well read, more conceited than most and above all – insulated. I got the impression that all they ever really do is talk to each other. Too good to talk to anyone else and no time to read anything outside their group either. So they say things like, “Poor Whites perceived they were being left behind” – they couldn’t even bring themselves to just admit the reality that millions had been. That’s outside the narrative. To admit the reality would be to admit they don’t care. The onus must stay on the poor deluded trash.

Their attempts at soul searching were thus crippled. They couldn’t find their souls in the first place. They just remain flummoxed or began to whine about how mean Trump was and how terrible he was going to be. They then approved of his acceptance speech and how it was an attempt to “unify”. He would of course, have to try harder. Already they are going on the offensive.

  90. Buck Stud November 9, 2016 at 1:32 am #

Wow, was I ever wrong: I’m stunned! (and by all means spike the ball in the end zone.)

Well, maybe President elect Trump really can move things in the right direction; he did mention in the primary he was a “unifier”.

Obviously there is something more at work here. I’m far more concerned about things like “pre-existing conditions” and health insurance as opposed to the Mexicans down the street. The latter will inevitably go bye bye while the former are going to stick around, like it or not. And yet, so many–even public union employees who will be severely punished by the GOP tsunami–still supported Trump because of nativist reasons. But soon enough they will come to learn the reality of unaffordable health insurance and pre-existing conditions along with losing jobs/benefits to privatization ( and yes’Obamacare’ was proving to be a “disaster” in many ways).

Congratulations Trump supporters; yours was an ass-kicking victory.

    • Buck Stud November 9, 2016 at 1:37 am #

Should have read: the former will inevitably go bye bye, the latter will stick around.

Wondering to myself, would Bernie have done any better and I have to conclude no. This election was about a deep visceral ‘pathos”, volcanic indeed.

My son voted Trump and he is going to be doing some end zone dancing for sure.

      • Janos Skorenzy November 9, 2016 at 3:23 am #

Bernie is a wonderful person at some level of his being. When he smiles, the world lights up. The bird landed alighted on his podium, not any other. But despite this, he was allied with Darkness. After the terrible Soros funded violence in Chicago, which shut down Trump’s rally, Bernie said “Good job, everyone.” He also said White don’t know what it’s like to be poor. Now admit it Buck, that’s just despicable.

Did you see his face during the DNC? He looked like he was in Hell. We may never get to the bottom of all this. Was he just her wing man to begin with – and only later becoming serious? It seemed very real at the end, and he seemed to feel he was betraying his people – and his best self. In exchange he seemed to have gotten a book deal, a lake house, and a future with Democrats, who owe him a big favor. You may well get a chance if four years to vote for him. In the mean time, cut deeply into your middle finger and eat the pain.

      • malthuss November 9, 2016 at 11:01 am #

Did you look and compare the attendance at the rallies?

President Elect Trump says he wants to rebuild the inner cities. What is so wrong with that, other than the Democrats may lose their power base of people they have placed into a life of drugs, crime, and poverty. Give him a chance and see if a non-politician (for once!) can do something more than the politicians have done. He certainly can’t do any worse.

I read that the reasons for millions of homeless are several.
One is the ‘Trumpification’ of cities.

the residence hotels were bought and torn down for gentrification.

      Thnk about that.

      • Majella November 9, 2016 at 4:23 pm #

Precisely. Trump won’t actually fix ANYTHING, but if he DOES go to work on inner city rejuvenation, the result will NOT be an investment for the current, indigent inhabitants. They’ll be shuffled away to new slums (a la Paris) out in the fringe.

    • Majella November 9, 2016 at 4:28 pm #

As JHK has said before, it would be preferable for Clinton – the embodiment of all that the Establishment/Elite is – to be in the hot seat when the long-anticipated shit hits the fan. At least then, the RIGHT people will get the blame and we’d have a chance at real change next time around. With Trump as the figurehead, when it all goes down, he’ll take the blame and the thieving conniving corrupt cohort responsible for this shit-storm will get away scot-free.

Congratulations to Donald Trump on winning the US presidential election

Vladimir Putin sent a message of congratulations to Donald Trump on his victory in the US presidential election.

In his message, Mr Putin said he hopes for work together to lift Russian-US relations out of the current crisis, resolve issues on the international agenda, look for effective responses to global security challenges.

The President said he is confident that Moscow and Washington can establish a constructive dialogue based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and genuine consideration for each other’s positions. This would be in the interests of both peoples and of the entire international community.

Mr Putin wished Mr Trump success in the high office and responsibility of head of state.

The biggest peaceful “FUCK YOU” in world history!

Felicitations to the American people for having the gumption to do it.

Donald J. Trump deserves all the credit for having the steel nerve and seeing this experiment through to victory HIS WAY. He will show the Globalists, political elites, media whores and presstitues, and enemies that there is a new sheriff in town and nobody owns him!

America took the “Red Pill” yesterday, fed up and sick of due to a variety of reasons to include:

    – Repudiation of Barack “Barry Soetoro” Hussein Obama and his eight years of destroying America. His legacy: putting a man in the Women’s toilet, creating ISIS, $20 Trillion deficit, cusp of Race War, puppet of George Soros, escalating tensions with Russia, etc……

    – Repudiation of George “Dubya” Bush and his ilk for being asleep at the wheel for his eight years of administration. His legacy: destruction of the Near East, doubling the national debt, allowing illegal immigration, not fixing anything other than his ranch…….

    – Repudiation of Bill and Hillary Clinton and their grift machine of 30 plus years in Arkansas and Washington. D.C. Their legacy: illegal war against Serbia, permitting massive illegal immigration, continuation of war in Iraq from Bush Sr., NAFTA, sex parties in the White House and on Jeff Epsteins Lolita Island etc……

Now to see which evil scumbag Liberals will commit suicide to protest the election results – I have more than several in mind.

Don’t forget to thank Hillary Clinton herself. She spent the last 20 years manipulating the DNC, the convention rules and the Democratic elites to assure her ascendancy to the throne.

She was a flawed candidate from the beginning, and never would have gotten the nomination in an open contest on a level playing field.

“It should come as no surprise that Trump is in partnership with the Jewish financial elite given his career background. Although naive sleepers seem to think he’s independent of the Money Power “since he has his own money,” they fail to understand how he got it. He didn’t do the real estate megadeals he’s know for by using money from his own bank account; he borrowed the money from the big banks and finance houses. There is simply no way he could be a big mover and shaker in real estate, especially in a Jew-controlled city like New York, without being in the good graces of the Money Power. He’s their boy.”

Solving the problem of legitimacy through repression is possible, but it will be very costly. We know from our own Russian experience that repression improve the manageability of the system, but beat out of it a large number of key managers, which are difficult to replace quickly and even more difficult to find a quality replacement.

          Moreover, the groups that are being repressed have a bad habit of exerting revenge, sabotage, and attracting foreign players to support their struggle for existence. In sum, these factors support the first conclusion. Even in the case of successful winner of repression towards the defeated system will be seriously weakened, and in the event of unfortunate circumstances may even collapse into a full-fledged civil war;

    Anybody remember this dude?

Harold E. Stassen, a former governor of Minnesota, educator, and special presidential assistant who won an early reputation as a ”boy wonder” of politics only to be remembered as the man who unsuccessfully sought the Republican Party’s presidential nomination nine times

    Will this be Hillary’s destiny?

Trump’s win is somewhat surprising, but what isn’t surprising is the country’s repudiation of Washington DC. I think that Trump supporters have more in common with Bernie Sander’s supporters than people realize. Corporations own the politicians in DC, and left and right wing don’t support the corrupt structure that has developed there. With Hillary it was gonna be business as usual. I only voted for her because I think Trump is a little bit crazy, but I guess time will tell if I was wrong.

Obviously the media and big brains behind the polls were saying one thing while America’s disgust at having a private server and a ‘foundation’ to sell political favors with was under-estimated and under-reported; illegal content or no. America preffered to spin the dice. I like that, I just wish someone else was the croupier.

On the bright side I prefer being watched by Trumps secret police rather than Clintons secret police. I hope I am not given reason to change my mind about that.

Trump is an accomplished showman but beyond that he is an idiot. His stupidity won’t matter if he surrounds himself with smart competent people though. The problem there is to select good people the dice again must roll and the odds of Trump selecting good well balanced people is slim.

On the basis of who would be more amusing Trump was always the clear choice. Homey D. Clown has indeed won!

The hatred of many of Hollywood’s elite is visceral…Bill Mahr is a must watch this Friday. Stephen Colbert’s election night coverage was brutal to watch…certainly not entertainment. Much weeping and rending of hair in Tinsel Town, Seattle, New York, DC, et al.

Some call me a “glass-half-full” kind of guy, but, for the first time in years, I am guardedly…hopeful. The Second Amendment should be made secure. Shoved-down-your-throat immigration will mitigate, The general assault on law enforcement will wane. Black Lives Matter? 135. volodya November 9, 2016 at 11:45 am #

Janos is right about something. I saw it all night long as results unfolded and Hillary went from sure thing to sure loser.

The talking heads turned themselves into rhetorical pretzels not acknowledging what was at the root of this thing. To them it was all about the “feeling” of the working class being left behind, the “feeling” of being talked down to, the “feeling” of being disrespected and on and on about “feelings”.

The great and the glittering simply can’t recognize the hard truth of it, that tens of thousands of factories, millions of breadwinner jobs, tens of millions of dependent livelihoods, were sent overseas and which demolished whole swathes of the country. And the almighty talking-heads insist it’s all about these “feelings”.

Maybe you can screw black people and hispanics and they’ll settle for sympathetic cooing noises or soaring proclamations about justice and equality. But an empty bank account, the repo man, eviction and foreclosure are all hard reality. It appears that white folks, this much derided and laughed-at working class, finally smelled the coffee. Remains to be seen whether working-class non-whites smell it too.

David Brooks insists on the goodness of what he calls globalization and meritocracy. Delusion knows no limits. Sending the industrial backbone of the country to China, a nasty despotism, is LUNACY.

I would implore these big thinkers to wake the fuck up. But if they haven’t woken up by now I doubt they ever will.

    • ozone November 9, 2016 at 1:18 pm #

I agree with your impressions here. (And I hope the “big thinkers” remain asleep and delusional; they’ll never see their irrelevance coming.)

There’s an awful lot of projection going on by fools and seers alike. The plain fact of this election is that the *losers* of the Class War went to vote. They’re not supposed to do that; they’re supposed to be dispirited and too depressed to give a shit who rules. These are the folk whose concerns are not addressed by the polling institutions, and it’s why they never saw this as a possibility. Never saw it because these folks don’t count and are thus uncounted. Surprise! Boo!

I found the whole exercise quite refreshing. Now let’s see if Trumpy the Clown can get together a public works project to give us regular scum pride in work and common goals again. …And Trumpy can put a plaque on these things with his brand! “The Grand Trump Electrical Grid”, “The Golden Trump My-Way Highway”, etc. Yes, it’s going to be interesting, any way you slice it… and events are still in charge.

Just got the results this past hour. Hillary wins the popular vote? Am I really awake?

Yep. I thought it would be the other way ’round, if anything.

Astounding. Even if just by a few hundred k or so.

Anybody want to put on their thinking caps? I think I asked this before.

What is the maximum number of popular votes a candidate can win by and still lose the electoral college?

    • FincaInTheMountains November 9, 2016 at 12:59 pm #

      • tucsonspur November 9, 2016 at 3:54 pm #

Ooops, Sorry Finca, but at least you tried. Thank you. The answer is no one definitive number, and difficult to determine because of the many variables involved. For example, specific state by state inputs.

Don’t mean to spin heads, but one could also ask, what is the maximum number of popular votes a candidate could lose by and still win the electoral college. Is Trump’s popular vote loss number the maximum, still allowing him the electoral college? Who knows?

One certainly can’t say off the top of one’s head.
        Much computation, many variables.

    by Rudyard Kipling

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

    They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
    No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

    It was not suddently bred.
    It will not swiftly abate.
    Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

Read that last verse again. This didn’t come out of nowhere, but after decades of mockery and abuse. And “It will not swiftly abate”. History begins again. What we say matters. What you say doesn’t matter. The White Race is back in the Game. Van Jones is right, Rush is wrong: This is all about Race. A Whitelash!

So you think the Tribe’s hatred of Trump was all an act? That’s a bridge too far – conspiracy thinking pushed to the point of circularity and absurdity. A great artist knows when to stop. Better to stop a bit too soon than a bit too late: I knew one guy who thought Hitler was Jewish and the Holocaust a Jewish plan.

This kind of thinking makes the Enemy all knowing and all powerful. Not only does it lead to impotence and capitulation, but it is even a kind of worship of Evil as all powerful and all knowing.

Trump grabbed America by the Pussy, like it was a bowling bowl, and then rolled a strike. Barb can’t forgive Trump – or any man – for having that kind of mastery.

C.S Lewis’s “Surrender is an erotic necessity” sums it up nicely. Now we are just flesh and fallible much of the time. Obviously any woman can find fault and not surrender easily enough. But the urge to surrender is still there. Traditional Cultures allow women like this to remain celibate and hopefully surrender to something higher than mere men – God Himself. And Lewis does emphasize that the soul is feminine in relation to God – and the quality of Masculinity experienced will be proportionately much greater.

      • Cactus Girl November 9, 2016 at 3:53 pm #

Meh. Trump won because the DNC was arrogant, smug and full of hubris. They did not listen to the people, who wanted Bernie. They purposely excluded him, cheated him, threatened him, made fun of his followers, and acted like the smug, arrogant, spoiled brats that they are. And Bernie turned out to be a schlemiel with feet of clay who betrayed his followers. Hillary thought she was above consorting with the riff-raff. And don’t forget Wiki-leaks. I think they had a lot to do with what happened.

The DNC and Hillary are responsible for this. As much as I dislike them, the Republicans went with the peoples choice.

        • K-Dog November 9, 2016 at 11:37 pm #

“Trump won because the DNC was arrogant, smug and full of hubris. ”

Sort of like the ending of Animal Farm!

“Years pass on Animal Farm, and the pigs become more and more like human beings—walking upright, carrying whips, and wearing clothes. Eventually, the seven principles of Animalism, known as the Seven Commandments and inscribed on the side of the barn, become reduced to a single principle reading “all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” Napoleon entertains a human farmer named Mr. Pilkington at a dinner and declares his intent to ally himself with the human farmers against the laboring classes of both the human and animal communities. He also changes the name of Animal Farm back to the Manor Farm, claiming that this title is the “correct” one. Looking in at the party of elites through the farmhouse window, the common animals can no longer tell which are the pigs and which are the human beings. ”
          – Spark Notes

The DNC started to act like the Republican party with extra identity politic spicings thrown into the mix. The problem with acting like a Republican when you are not one though is that it makes real Republicans more honest than you are and consequently they then deserve more respect than you do.

Glorious Trump is not walking back the wall, he is merely positioning himself to gin up the necessary support.

He has to deal with new types of pussies, political ones that don’t understand the power he wields.

If there is no physical wall, there will still be a virtually failproof barrier along the southern border.

I’m still surprised all you experts out here failed to see that President Trump would triumph.

We told you so numerous times.

“And Buck Stud, you are such a fucking PUSSY, it’s embarrassing. Change your fucking name you fucking loser.”–Cold

Whoa, calm down there Swashbuckling Hemingway. After all, aren’t you the one who claimed to be above the political fray; that you ‘didn’t care’ one way or another; not a dime’s worth of difference between the two parties!?

No, Trump won a dominating victory and as individual I have to respect the will of the greater whole and especially so when things don’t go my way. That’s the way it’s supposed to work in this country.

Beyond that I want to see which Trump shows up to preside. Will it be the Trump looking out for the ‘little guy’ who carried his water in the election or will it be same Old GOP seeking to maximize corporate profits?

A few months ago I was having some dark thoughts about the possibility of a Trump presidency, But one night I had one of “those dreams”. In my dream Trump was compassionate and yet befuddled: Why didn’t I like him because it was going to be alright. It made an impression; in fact I thought it was a signal that he would win but a signal I denied and strongly resisted in day to day life. That dream couldn’t be true, or so I told myself.

You probably think that’s bullshit but it’s the truth.

Bottom line: In my mind I have to give Trump a chance and wait and see what he’s really all about. I’m hoping the “Unifier” shows up for the job.

It can’t be denied. The electoral college decides the winner.

So, my questions above are extremely pertinent. What if a candidate wins the popular vote by say, 2.8 million, but loses the electoral vote?

It may be unlikely, but demographics are always shifting, and so it is certainly possible.

I know, it’s an old question. “Should the electoral college be abolished”?

    • Janos Skorenzy November 9, 2016 at 7:26 pm #

My old professor lived in a town of 13,000 or so. Direct New England Town Democracy. Of the 13,000, only a few hundred played any regular part in it. The moral? When people aren’t excluded, they will exclude themselves. Have room for another moral? So let’s make the exclusion rational and useful. Maybe an occasional petition for everyone to vote on, but for the most part, let those who know and care make the decisions.

      • tucsonspur November 10, 2016 at 1:32 am #

Exclusion by choice is one thing. Forced exclusion another.

Our current system seems to be the best to date.

It has a number of positive features, but it is strange isn’t it? It is non-exclusionary, both wise men and fools can vote, yet it can exclude the entire “winning” voting block.

        Thus allowing the “whitelash”.

        • Janos Skorenzy November 10, 2016 at 3:56 pm #

It was almost too late. The People are always slow to react and are usually wrong about everything. There has to be more Elitism, much more. Only the qualified should vote. And if that excludes me, that’s fine.

It is clear now that the Trump victory at the polling stations on November 8 was preceded by a backstage victory of the Deep State – an assortment of various intelligence agencies plus FBI plus NY PD plus NSA.

That day, November 6, when FBI Director James Comey said that the resumption of the case against Hillary Clinton is closed, Hillary canceled the fireworks in New York on the occasion of her victory.

In my opinion, this is clear evidence that Hillary was broken up with one simple but killer argument – you can win the elections, rigging the results as well as you did in democratic primaries, even not allowing to count votes in California and taking Sanders’s brother grandchildren hostages to the island, where Bill Clinton and some other high-ranking US politicians love to spend time in the company of minors. But then the FBI will have to open all their trump cards and indict Hillary of High Treason – a capital offence.

Confirmation of the threat was sent to Clinton through the other channels. On November 4 the chairman of House Homeland Security Committee Michael McCaul said that he believes the actions of Hillary Clinton represent High Treason, since the transfer of secret information over insecure channels dealt a blow to the national security, as well as to all US intelligence operatives outside of the country.

When the deal was made, the US electoral system was allowed to honestly count votes of American voters, bringing victory to Donald Trump.

So, that is why I do not expect continuation of the case against Clintons or their Foundation to proceed, unless some new circumstances will surface, not covered by the deal.

God does work in mysterious ways.

On the eve of November 8th the World was on the verge of turning a new Cold War into a hot stage. It would have happened if Hillary won the US presidential election, Hillary Clinton – a formal leader of the planetary party of the war, which was ready to plunge the entire world into bloody chaos of a nuclear Holocaust just to prove their exceptionalism.

In fact, the world was separated from the threat of its beginning by only one step – another provocation against Russian troops in Syria, forcing Moscow to respond.

Sure, it was an attempt of Satan’s forces to gain power over the world and to destroy the God’s creation.

Forget the liberals, brh; they’re irrelevant now. The GOP has the White House, the Senate, Congress and soon, the SCOTUS: Complete and total victory.

Yesterday, President Elect Trump reaffirmed his commitment to infrastructure spending which is a very good start, IMO. But it won’t be ‘the liberals” derailing his aspirations; they can’t. No, it will be factions within his own party

I hope the president to be resists these efforts and commits to his base in PA, WI, MI that won the election for him.

As far as I can see the Democratic Party is done. They alienated and marginalized the white working class poor, by the splitting the party into myriad special interest groups and engaging in politically correct group think–ask JHK. Initially, Bernie “spoke” to their needs but he was soon vanquished and “The Bros” followed suit.

What will be interesting to watch over the next few years for those still around, is how the GOP dismantles Obamacare, which,at the end of the day ,really failed in some very disappointing ways.(Of course, GOP obstructional intransigence guaranteed its failure as well.) The pre-existing condition clause was humane and righteous, and a lot of people with medical maladies who were previously uninsurable–including yours truly–were finally able to garner some affordable insurance. I’m not sure how much longer I will have insurance so my end days may prove very painful indeed.

At any rate, I have to laugh at the GOP/Trump and Putin alliance talk. They could not be more divergent, ideologically speaking. For instance, this is something that will NEVER occur in this country:

“The Constitution of the Russian Federation has provided all citizens the right to free healthcare under Mandatory Medical Insurance since 1996”

  172. volodya November 10, 2016 at 11:39 am #

Fodase, I’ll give you a factual reason. CEOs do NOT look at corporate tax rates, they look at WAGE RATES. You can cut corporate tax rates to zero and it won’t matter.

To the CEO, corporate tax is an area to avoid like the plague. The CEO will not get involved in company tax matters, is bored to tears by company tax matters, does not want to hear about company tax matters, and leaves tax shit up to the CFO and his tax grunts.

While the CEO makes the offshoring decisions (based on foreign wage rates), the CFO is his garbage-man-numbers-nerd-bitch. You think the CFO is powerful? He’s not, the CFO may be highly paid but he’s the CEO’s book-keeper, bullshit artist book-cooker. How many times have we seen it? Where do you think SarbanesOxley came from?

And don’t tell me about these currently fashionable tax inversions. They make me laugh. Think of the tax revenue that disappeared from US tax coffers when tens of thousands of factories went to China along with millions of American breadwinner jobs. THAT’S why the US government has a 20 trillion dollar hole in its finances. THAT’S why social security is going down the drain. Paul Ryan sez “reform”. No, read his lips, he’s saying “good-bye”. As in put your head between your legs and kiss your ass “good-bye”.

So now Washington is in a tizzy over some smarty pants tax lawyers and their paper shuffling legal maneuvers? Tax inversions are a smoke and mirrors nickle and dimes diversion.

And something else, build infrastructure to attract business, especially manufacturing? Bullshit bullshit bullshit. CEOs could give a shit about infrastructure, whether it’s physical or legal or societal. CEOs relocate factories to countries with dirt roads, crap education, minimal rule of law, that do shakedowns rather than tax audits. It’s all about WAGE RATES.

You think I’m economically illiterate? I’ve spent my life in the Belly of the Beast, I saw it all up close.

As for the wall, build the fucking wall, do it now, stud it with gun emplacements. Trump is right about this much, you either have borders or you don’t and, as borders give physical definition to a country, you either have one or you don’t. If the US is a superpower worthy of the name, Trump will grab whatever crook is running Meheeco by the cojones and issue a direct order to start building that will make the crook piss himself in fear. That’s IF the US is a superpower worthy of the name.

Trump also had the right idea when he told Ford, that if they moved the factories to Meheeco he’d whack the imports with 35% tariffs and nobody would buy them. About time someone said it.

    • FincaInTheMountains November 10, 2016 at 11:58 am #

And something else, build infrastructure to attract business, especially manufacturing?

No, build infrastructure to improve living conditions and increase the capital stock of the country.

To attract business, especially manufacturing, slap ’em with 35% customs due if re-importing for sale back in US.

“Awaiting Trump-Obama Meeting” reads the graphic on my TV.

I remember this very scene exactly 8 years ago when it was Obama-Bush. Eventually the two emerged from somewhere and walked cordially together toward the camera that captured them, along a sidewalk up against the sunny side of the White House. I can still picture it.

What struck me then, and has struck me many times since, was an affected (i.e. feigned) modestly Black swagger by the new President-Elect. Likewise, in many a speech over the ensuing 8 years, depending on the occasion and makeup of the audience, Obama would affect/feign/adopt a Black, but not TOO Black, vernacular and cadence.

He has always been aware of a need to establish Black bona fides. The fact is that even though Obama genetically fits the definition of a mulatto perfectly, a person with one white and one black parent, he is culturally no more black than I am. He was raised by a white mother and white grandparents and to my knowledge was never influenced by life in a Black ‘hood.’

For this reason I am conflicted about referring to Obama as our first Black president.

If Caitlyn Jenner was elected president would ‘she’ be our first female president?

    • volodya November 10, 2016 at 12:38 pm #

You’re right, Obama isn’t culturally American Black primarily because he’s not the descendant of Black American slaves and he wasn’t raised by descendants of Black American slaves. As I recall, at first American Blacks weren’t all that enamored of Obama for the reason you stated and so to them, Obama was an outsider. I think that hooking up with Michelle gave him some credibility in that community because she had in her background what he didn’t.

What really kills me is the sheer effrontery of people like Gen Mike Hadley, who by now ought to know better, who throw around terms like “fact based” when they’re talking about Trump and his non-expertise in foreign policy matters. Look at what the so-called “experts” wrought. And these guys are “fact based”? Libya is an bleeding ulcer on Africa’s coast, Afghanistan is being reclaimed by the Taliban, Iraq and Syria are on-going calamities and if the so-called “experts” think Iran is going to play fair, their outta their cotton’ pickin’ minds.

  176. janet November 10, 2016 at 1:01 pm #

volodya: “It’s all about WAGE RATES.”

Volodya is right. Trump wants to renegotiate NAFTA but companies have incorporated NAFTA into their operations for the last 20 years. China, too, has been incorporated into the global value chain; companies have already transferred their facilities and operations to the mainland for wage rates, as Volodya told us. Renegotiating treaties with both won’t undo that change; it’s already built into the global system.

What it will do is incentivize countries to begin to increase tariffs on imports as well as adding quotas to imports. This is a very bad idea; in fact, just such a situation (the passage of Hawley-Smoot in 1930) greatly exacerbated the Great Depression.

  177. volodya November 10, 2016 at 1:38 pm #

Here’s the deal, the political legitimacy of the gangsters running China rests on the many millions of jobs that come out of American factories that offshored there. Those factories will stay in China at gunpoint if necessary.

And American CEOs will realize (if they haven’t already) that the term “ownership” in a place like China means nothing. The shareholders “own” the company? Well, especially not in China where such western observances as the rule of law and due process are frivolities that the local powers-that-be over-turn with a stroke of a pen and a platoon of police.

Nope, in every way that matters, the Chinese control those factories and for now they allow American and other foreign CEO’s to run them. We’ll see how long this arrangement lasts.

But this global regime of production in shit-holes like China and export to the US won’t last. It can’t. The sequence of financial crises of the past 20 years is testament to its unworkability.

Two things need to be done to salvage something from the mess: 1) pay Chinese workers to buy what they make and 2) pay American workers to make what they buy.

The two step remedy is otherwise called relocalization. Won’t happen with the current gang of oligarchs stinking up Washington and Wall Street. But, sooner or later, it has to. Gravity, in the end, always wins.

  178. Cold N. Holefield November 10, 2016 at 1:47 pm #

    Here’s The Deal.

What happens when Trump goes Off Script when he becomes disenchanted with Putin and starts treating him & teasing him like he did the Disabled Reporter, or better, starts denigrating & demoralizing him like he did to Miss Venezuela? I see two things that will come of that.

1.) Trump gets his head popped open like a ripe watermelon by The National Security State

2.) Tensions escalate between Russia & America to the point a shooting war starts that quickly moves to Nuclear.

If you claim Trump wouldn’t dare do such a thing to someone like Putin, then that necessarily means you support a Cowardly Bully who only picks on & taunts easy, defenseless targets. What a great pick for POTUS and a great guy to get behind. Perfect for the whole lot of you, actually, since my experience is that the majority of avatars who post comments at this blog are a bunch of BIG FUCKING COWARDS, so it’s apt you’re represented by someone who reflects your basic character & disposition.

  179. volodya November 10, 2016 at 2:05 pm #

OK Cold, there’s a good chance that Trump’s stay at the White House Shangri La Hotel will be short for the reason you stated. I mean, if they did it to the Kennedys…

The blustering TV show buffoonery won’t work against an operator like Putin, nor for that matter, Xi Jinping. If Trump gets too far over his skis in a dispute with either one, it might not necessarily be domestic state security agencies that do the dirty work. Neither Putin nor Xi are noted for their squeamishness after all.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 10, 2016 at 2:34 pm #

Uh remember, Trump talked openly about Russia being ahead of us militarily. It’s the current regime that’s getting over its skis. Don’t let these mooks turn your head around. They are trying to delegitimize the glorious victory and ascent of the God Emperor. We now control the Executive, the House, and the Senate. Soon we will control the Judiciary.

This may be the biggest mandate in American History. Now is not the time for compromise – compromise with evil is evil. Now is the time to Lead and for the defeated to follow.

“I’ve spent my life in the Belly of the Beast, I saw it all up close”. Volodya

Reminds me of Jack Henry Abbott’s, “In The Belly Of The Beast”, (Letters From Prison), and the time of “radical chic”. When Leonard Bernstein would throw a party for the Black Panthers, and Norman Mailer was instrumental in getting Abbott released from the Utah penitentiary where he was serving time for murder.

Not long after his release, Abbott stabbed a young waiter to death. It was about the romantic side of murder and the “virtue” of literary talent.

Yes, a good writer has to be a good man. Killing someone was just some kind of mistake or misunderstanding. Likewise, beauty is truth. Beautiful women are innocent by nature – no matter what they do. In Ancient Greece, a lawyer was losing his case defending a woman who killed her husband. Suddenly you ripped her tunic off and cried, “Would you destroy such beauty?” The jury agreed they had to let her off.

It goes on and on. Powerful people feel they are above the Law. Lots of people who want their patronage agree with them. And of course, other powerful people support their own class interests. Hillary must be prosecuted – or the Trump Revolution will lose much of its credibility. To this end, charge Hillary with nothing while Obama is in office since he will only pardon her. Then come down on her like a ton of bricks.

Ummm…once you have enough Nukes to blow the world up a thousand times over, there is no one who can get ahead of you militarily unless they can neutralize your Nukes. If your Military Posture is a defensive one and not an offensive one. Our only Military Posture should be a defensive one and we have more than enough Nukes to cover it. If the rest of The World wants to develop all manner of other weapons to blow each other up with and kill each other with, so be it, unless, of course, they want to develop Nukes. That cannot be allowed for anyone any longer. We make it clear to Russia that once we withdraw militarily from The World, our Domestic Defensive Posture becomes paramount & uncompromisable. If Russia does anything, and I mean ANYTHING, to cross that line, KABOOM they go and The Planet.

We reduce our Military significantly and use the savings for Scientific Endeavors such as rendering Nuclear Bombs useless and mitigating the negative effects of radiation if Nukes are ever used and rendering any ordinance useless in order to bring about more peaceful solutions to conflicts between cultures and nations.

Your way results in another Arms Race and a return to the Mad Men Days. My way allows Humanity to Socially Evolve by striving to eliminate the proverbial & perpetual Nuclear Sword of Damocles hanging over Humanity’s Head.

This shouldn’t be a problem for Putin since he has gone on record and stated, emphatically & unequivocally, that he can & will work with Trump. Good. They can work on bringing about a World without War, and that starts with each of them demilitarizing, not militarizing further as you suggest.

Germany drove out some of their best scientists before WW II on the grounds that they were Jewish. They even accused the brilliant theoretical physicist Heisenberg, a non-Jew, of practicing “Jewish science”, a figment of some Nazi official’s delirium. So tragic.

Speaking of Trump, he looked a bit sheepish this morning in the White House, didn’t he? Big stuff even for the big man.

I voted for Trump for what I thought were the overarching issues; borders, terrorism, immigration, illegals. Hopefully he comes through on these issues at least.

I am not for complete deregulation or even extensive deregulation of the EPA, the FDA, or most of the other agencies. I know all too well what self-regulation means.

Will he privatize the national parks? Will he build golf courses at the Grand Canyon? He say’s it’s “America first”.

I say it’s also Earth first. Like Jimmy Looks Twice, I’m for mother earth as well.

Bad call, Tucson. Trump says he wants to get rid of NAFTA. Do you really think the republicans will go for that? They will back him on deregulations, tax cuts for the rich & corporations, They will do nothing to stop the control of the government by corporations. Check back in one year, & find out what happens when the government is run by a narcissist. Do you really think that the hoi polloi are gonna come out of this looking good? Sure, he’ll keep the Arabs out along with the Mexicans, but as far as easing the economic problems of the middle class, it’s not gonna happen. Do I sound cynical? The truth is: no matter how cynical I get, it’s never enough. We have just gone into free fall, and I have no Idea where we are gonna end up, but my guess is that it’s not gonna be good.

It was a tough call. I agree that this doesn’t look good for the little guy. Taking the longer view, open borders, endless immigration, sanctuary cities, infiltration by hostiles, and a deadly overdose of political correctness was much less palatable.

In addition, isn’t the government already pretty much controlled by the corporations? And think of Hillary and Wall Street.

Sorry to say, but the hoi polloi, the little guy, will have to tough it out again. Yeah, it really was far from an easy call. The old saying is too often true isn’t it? That it will all roll downhill.

I was surprised to hear JHK’s last podcast. It was ostensibly about the Technospehere, but it was mostly about the human concept of progress. Humans, at least most, are incapable of disentangling the concept of progress from linear time. Time elapsed means progress, it means forward, it means a march for better and for good. This is entirely incorrect. It is a device employed by the human mind for a few beneficial evolutionary and coping reasons. There are people like Schmidt over at Alphabet that believe that progress over time in technology is inherently good. Augmented humanity, an eternal uploaded conscious, synthetic humans… and here we are, some of us, demanding that we deserve better, it’s 2016 and we have elected a megalomaniac over another megalomaniac. This should not happen. We are humanity, and time has elapsed, and that has taught us that things always change for the better… we can’t read the future and we sure as hell can’t read the past.

On the far end of Manhattan’s West Side, a different story was unfolding at the Jacob Javits Center. A massive convention hall named after former New York senator (((Jacob Javits))), it was supposedly chosen for its glass ceiling, which Clinton would symbolically shatter as our first female president-elect. Instead, it became a glass pitcher of liberal tears. The choice for Clinton’s ill-fated coronation symbolized something else as well. (((Javits))) was a major force behind the 1965 Hart-Celler Act, which ended the country’s eurocentric immigration quotas and resulted in the rising tide of color we are currently grappling with. Each generation has become more “diverse,” and so in turn each cohort of new voters. It’s why New York was a solid lock for parachute candidate Clinton, and a hopeless cause for its native son, President Trump.

As the post mortems will surely tell us in the next few days, there just wasn’t enough turnout from voters of color. There just weren’t enough Hart-Celler Americans to stop President Trump. Not even the creation of an entirely new minority class over the last 50 years, Latinos, was enough to prevent a nativist and civic nationalist from being elected. But frankly, this was our last opportunity to strike back at the ballot. President Trump won by a wavy Caucasian hair. Having to literally drive the Amish to the polls in order to save the White race was poetic, though not a long-term solution.

For as long as I can remember, the Republicans have been known as the party of the rich. They have never changed their tune. Even after they & George W Bush almost destroyed the country economically, they still wanted to deregulate, lower taxes for business and individuals, get rid of social security, let corporations run wild, etc. You would think that people would have learned after eight years of Republican rule almost ruined the country, that people would have figured out that their recipe doesn’t work. Here we are, eight years after that debacle, and they have won again. It seems that that old saying: Democracy contains the seeds of it’s own destruction, is more appropriate than ever. I guess we deserve to go where we are headed. I guess, cynic that I am, if we are collectively that stupid, then we deserve to go down.

Obama was forced to compromise with the old elite. For the sake of a free hand in domestic policy and support for his planned reforms he gave the foreign policy at the mercy of the interventionists, appointing Hillary Clinton Secretary of State.

But he played a significant role in stopping the US intervention into Syria in 2013, have to give the guy his due.

To complete the doctrine of regime change in Arab autocracies.
This tactic CAUSED the plight of the refugees.
        It caused the refugees.
All on account of his goal of regime change superseding the plight of the Syrian people in the hinterlands.

That’s only the ostensible reason. It’s long been in the works to open Europe up to Non-Whites in order to wipe out Western Culture.

Muslims especially since the Hijrah or religious migration is part of Islam. It’s a way of expansion that works in tandem with Jihad.

He ducked into a bar he was walking past to see if a T.V. was showing Trump with the lame duck but it was all sports. Close by is a major Seattle lesbian bar, ‘The Wild Rose‘. He went in. He figured for sure they would have it on and he was right.

He told me that it was crazy. The whole place was filled with lesbians and they were all crying loud and hugging each other. A blubbery mess. Quite the sight to behold he said.

Putin didn’t help me with anything. I figured it out long before the midget Putin stuck his opportunistic nose in it.

Putin is as much a Scumbag as Obama. Look what he did at Katyr Yurt and Chechnya overall. With the aid of Western Intelligence at the behest of Bill Clinton, but Dubya also had a similar stance toward Putin & Russia. Now, it appears, Trump will do the same, hence Putin’s comment that he will & can work with Trump.

Is everyone going to be willing to equally expose Putin’s Proxy Wars & Trump’s and how they mutually aid one another in those endeavors when the time comes? I doubt it. I’m the only one around here or anywhere for that matter that doesn’t take sides and is an equal opportunity critic.

The case against Tyranny is a matter of principle applied equally and judiciously. You don’t reserve condemnation for some and withdraw it for others. Tyranny is Tyranny regardless of who or what is delivering it, and if you;re a decent Human Being, you speak out against it wherever you find it. Yes, it’s hypocritical of The West & Obama to chastise and criticize Putin for being an Autocratic Dictator when The West itself runs a more sophisticated version of Tyranny.

Allegedly, America was founded on the notion of escaping Tyranny and guarding against it, but, so much for that. When so-called Conservatives are siding with a foreign, “former” Communist Tyrant against a Homegrown Tyrant, you have to laugh. Strict Constitutionalists who refer to the Founding Fathers licking Putin’s fucking boots. It makes me sick to my stomach.

Obama is part of a Machine & Malevolence much larger than himself that transcends any notion of Political Parties. That Machine is a Tyranny. That Machine is Tyranny and Trump is as much a part of that Machine as Obama. Just you wait and see.

    Off topic:

To the best of my recollection my photo has appeared in a newspaper twice in my life. The first time was around 1960. The then world’s greatest pool player, Willie Mosconi, who lived in nearby Haddon Heights, NJ, was playing a 100 point straight pool exhibition match at a pool room in Camden, NJ. I was among the crowd captured in a Camden Courier Post photo. My head and St. Joseph’s College logo jacket was visible in a Sports Page photo (much to my parents dismay) as I stood on tiptoe to view the great master.

The second time my photo appeared was last Saturday night, Nov 5th. Under great pressure from my wife, I was attending an Armistice Ball in Morristown, NJ. All the women’s clothing was made by their own hands and evoked the years 1918 through the early 1920s. A photographer from the Daily Record (Part of the USA Today Network) attended.

At risk of blowing my anonymity, Google “PHOTOS: Armistice Ball at Morristown Masonic Center” and click through the 15 pics to see if you can spot which one I’m in.

Cold said: “The Past doesn’t ignore us — it’s the gift that keeps on giving.”

Trump is resurrecting some old guys from The Past. Old faces, old bodies. Trump’s picks for his administration largely have one thing in common: They’re older men.

And for the most part, they’re white men.

BuzzFeed obtained one list of 41 names under consideration for Trump’s Cabinet and top White House positions. 35 of those 41 are men. In other news stories listing potential appointees, no women are named, only men. Many are the same men who brought us our current crisis.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 11, 2016 at 1:21 am #

Everything you have and everything you are is because of White Men. If you hate us, you hate your own Source and your life is cursed. And that is obviously the situation.

On the lower and non-existential level, you may have a point. I am concerned that Trump may blow it. But the answer is not Matriarchy or Metro-sexuals, but rather good Patriarchs.

Already battle lines of division are forming in the GOP. On day one after Trump’s victory, Paul Ryan immediately suggests privatizing Medicare with “Vouchercare”. IOW, he is elevating his agenda above that which Trump asserted he absolutely supports during the campaign: Medicare in it’s current form.

From a political positioning standpoint, this is absolutely fascinating. I would imagine from the vantage point of a Trump supporter, this is a slap in the face–Ryan upstarting the President Elect with his own agenda. Beyond that, Medicare is very popular among all Americans, and especially so in Trump’s elderly base. I suspect that right out of the starting gate, Ryan is seeking to distinguish himself from Trump and I would not be surprised if his goal is to weaken Trump in order to elevate his own 2020 aspirations.

Put another way, Trump is surrounded by those in his own party that have their own best interest in mind and not necessarily those of the President Elect (nothing new under the sun).

It is not an ideological contradiction for some on the left to be cheering for Trump since some of his policies are not diametrically divergent For instance, after reading the nuances,Trump is actually very logical, fair and wise on the issue student loan repayment. (Although it would also be very wise to discourage student loan borrowing in the future.)

Trump’s call to get smart on immigration resonated deeply, even among some on the left. The problem for Democrats is they have become so ossified in politically correct group think, that they are unable to even entertain the idea of walking 360 around an issue in order to apprehend other possibilities. Thus we see a JHK, for example getting pigeonholed by the intellectual rigidity of academia.

Boiled down: I think you are correct to be concerned that he “might blow it”. Being POTUS is a big job and he is surrounded by numerous “assistants”. He was not popular among large swaths of his own party and many of them have their own aspirational agendas, Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, Ted Cruz–no thanks, I’m now rooting for Trump.

Bravo. Your behavior since the defeat has been one of exemplary humility. I hope I can do the same if Trump betrays his people again. That being said, you still have much inner work to do. Have you even begun to realize the depths of madness to which you sank by supporting a Satanist like Hillary Clinton?

Without knowing what you knew and when you knew it, I can’t perform the necessary psychic surgery. For all I know, you blocked out everything to do with the emails, relying on Cuck Comey’s bland assertions that nothing wrong had occurred. No Buck: she got away with it – an enormous amount. And not “just” the technical mishandling of classified material (which is a criminal offence) but extreme corruption of all kinds.

She actually seemed sincere in his concession speech. A theory: just as Marxist morality posits that anything that advances the Revolution is moral, Hillary may see her life in the same way. She IS the Revolution and therefore anything that benefits her is by definition, Good and Very Good. So perhaps she’s not a psychopath, just a narcissist of cosmic dimensions.

Frankiti has been harping that barbisbest is the new WPAsoka…..that the pathetic prose, lousy logic and piss-poor punctuation is a red herring to throw us off the trail. But no, if true we would have to credit WPA with a genius that I’m certain he does not possess. If anyone here is the new WPA I speculate it is janet (above).

Similarly, there are people who believe Trump’s incoherence is an act…a shtick. Oh, were it only true, but no, it is impossible. The greatest of actors could not conceive, much less consistently carry off, such a ruse, such a collection of strange mannerisms and fractured rhetoric, delivered through a small square facial opening in a particularly annoying version of New Yorkese. No, Trump is exactly what he seems…it is not an act…he is the genuine article.

Thankfully, Trump has demonstrated that he CAN read a speech from a monitor well enough to fool foreigners and our own great unwashed from the hinterlands into thinking these are HIS actual thoughts and words. He must be constantly reminded to NEVER go off script from that which has been prepared for him by professionals. That staff of writers will be wise enough to avoid clever language a la “nattering nabobs of negativism.” Trump is no Spiro Agnew.

You are at the door of initiation, but will you go in? Or even knock? The human personality is not single, but multitudinous, with many sub-personalities. A truly unified person is rare, and even that is accomplished by self knowledge and cross pollination – not one sub personality killing all the others.

You see/hear one Trump and try to make that all – so you can knock him. As my previous surgery showed, you are not one but many. And you have not integrated these.

Trump is very large. Watch the Apprentice. A very different Trump is seen. Have charity for Trump so you can know him as he is. Perhaps you will even find a similar charity and knowledge for and about yourself.

Caller on Rush: Make Hillary ambassador to Libya. A fitting reward for her “service”.

Trump is an egoist? Great! Pragmatic grabber? Hooray!! Businessman without a soul? Wonderful!!!

Compared with the crazy clintonites to whom the destruction of Russia is an idee fixe – this is a very good partner for a possible dialogue.

Trump will protect US interests, and quite specific elite groups: the part of intelligence agencies, oil companies, coal companies, part of the pharma, part of the agricultural sector and, of course, developers, which are promised the money saved on reducing military presence abroad.

It’s good. This means that Putin will have a partner for dialogue, which is at least a chance to negotiate with the more or less rational interlocutor.

    Obama’s free at last?

Obama directs Pentagon to target al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria, one of the most formidable forces fighting Assad

President Obama has ordered the Pentagon to find and kill the leaders of an al-Qaeda-linked group in Syria that the administration had largely ignored until now and that has been at the vanguard of the fight against the Syrian government, U.S. officials said.

The decision to deploy more drones and intelligence assets against the militant group formerly known as Jabhat al-Nusra reflects Obama’s concern that it is turning parts of Syria into a new base of operations for al-Qaeda on Europe’s southern doorstep, the officials said.

This is a good place to start then, in your quest for knowledge. The author knows a bit – and is willing to share. It’s rare for Jews to be candid like this. He admits the Jews declared economic warfare against the German people long before the outbreak of open war. The German boycott of the Jews was a counter-measure. And he admits the Zionists ignored such proclamations anyway, and continued to cooperate with the Germans. Idealism is a weapon for public consumption you see. And he admits that the Zionists are Fascists. No moral high ground over the Nazis WHATSOEVER.

In the meantime, shitbirds of varying stripes (but all bowing and mumbling supplications to Thanatos and Mammon) will continue to drop their fishing lines woven of button-mashing buzzwords and thoughtstoppers into the wide and infinitely deep cesspool of internet “communications” in hopes of snagging a few decaying turds. …But legitimacy and credibility erode ever faster – funny, that.

IOW you can fool some of the people some of the time (including yourself) but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

Fooling people takes an inordinate degree of concentration and attention to keep the deception from collapsing. So while the fooler is occupied fooling, the fooler doesn’t notice that reality is waiting to spring. Too late when the fooler notices that reality has its jaws clamped onto the fooler’s crotch. This is what reality does. Maybe this is a roundabout way of saying that the moral arc of the universe bends towards justice. Or maybe its a long way of saying what goes around comes around.

My next couple of blog posts will be suggestions on how to change those tactics. First on the agenda will be to stretch the limits of the 2nd Amendment until it snaps. Every person who didn’t vote for Trump needs to go out and buy a gun and get a right to carry permit. They need to carry these guns during their protests to protect themselves from The Brownshirts. They need to direct their protests appropriately. They need to surround and strangle the Fox News Buildings, The CNN Buildings — all The Major Networks & Major Publications Buildings to include the NYT & The Washington Post. They need to surround the NSA Building & the FBI Headquarters & the CIA Headquarters. They need to surround and strangle the FTC Building that facilitated the Media Consolidation that transpired the past thirty or more years and smash The Media Monopoly into a million pieces that could never be put back together again. If The Protesters want to curtail or eliminate the 2nd Amendment, Trump is the man to do it. If they arm themselves in droves under the legal auspices of the 2nd Amendment, I guarantee you “President Trump” will repeal the 2nd Amendment.

I haven’t posted yet this week because it’s taken me this long to center myself and come to terms with the election results. First, I confess to being absolutely wrong (obviously) in saying Hillary was definitely going to win. I prepared myself emotionally to deal with her presidency. Then I thought about voting forTrump, but I couldn’t end my 48 year avoidance of voting with him being the cause of the end of my streak. Instead, I finally did vote.

In a flash of insight I wrote in my dead cat for president. It’s not as crazy as it sounds. He had a very Alfred E. Neumanesque personality. What, me worry? This seems to be the MO of American citizens, so that attitude would be very popular. And where in the Constitution does it say a candidate has to be human? It’s already happened. Google the dog who got re-elected mayor of a town in, I believe, Minnesota.

Alas, it was not to be. Apparently, a candidate has to be alive to run (although no criteria are stated as to what constitutes “alive”). I voted for my cat anyway.

As the archdruid and others have said, the basis for the Trump insurgency was economic.

No, wages were not “stagnating”, they were plummeting, no, the wage earners weren’t “left behind”, they were thrown overboard, no, it wasn’t just disrespect directed at flyover country, it was unemployment and minimum wage work replacing breadwinner wages.

There was a Charlie Rose gab-fest just before the election with Walter Isaacson, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Jeff Greenfield, Cokie Roberts and others. Cluelessness abounded, condescension seeped from their pores, scorn stood out on them like beads of sweat. And condemnation of “populism”. IOW the toothless morons are getting uppity.

And now, with the Trump Train gathering steam, America will become great again. Veterans will finally get the respect they deserve. The VA red tape will disappear as soon as Trump takes office. The military will no longer be starved as Trump increases the defense budget.

Reducing corporate tax rates, getting rid of regulations on banks and Wall Street, all that should be done in the first hundred days, along with job creation to rebuild infrastructure. The middle class will return with good paying jobs manufacturing things here in America again.

    or 5%?

I am way late for the party here because I spent the week caring for my ancient, incapacitated parents to give my brother who cares for them a break. They have NO internet, I have NO Booble-phone, and I was forced to suffer the entire event through the demented eyes of the ClintonNewsNetwork with Wolf Scat Blitzkrieg leading the way, ugh! In what is now the aftermath of the long feared event, I am amused by the fact that those Progressive scumbags that warned us all of rioting and civil unrest by the gun bearing, Bible toting, uneducated white people are now the very same mindless idiots prancing about the urban streets crying like babies and setting fire to anything they can find that is combustible. I suppose it only proves that they were at least right about one thing, eh?

There is one small detail however that still bothers me and that is the fact that a majority of those that voted (or the rigged votes though not enough) came out in support of the Clinton Crime Family and thereby gave their consent to murder as a means to an end. I hope that the Creator does not hold this against us, but if He does, I understand. As Ernst Borgnine once said in “Pay or Die”, :When you lie down with pigs you get up smelling like garbage”. Volodya suggests the Trump victory was “As the archdruid and others have said, the basis for the Trump insurgency was economic.”

A very clear and concise piece by Doug Casey, makes the point that it was “cultural” and not “economic” factors which drove the win home for The Donald.

Multi-kultis of every bizarre transgressive ideology (Feminists & SJWs & Marxists & Afrocentrists & Yzlamiks & La Raza-ists & Millennials,) the Demoncrat flavor, versus persons wishing to remain in Currier and Ives America, or exclusive country clubs, the Republican’t base and newcomers (White “working class.” said derisively by Cokie “Contemptible” Roberts)

If I understand Casey correctly, the “The American Dream” ain’t coming back. However Donald “living the dream” Trump may try to run the U.S.A. like his private corporation though…on that I think he might right.

CNN reports racial slurs against blacks at Penn State.

Does not report, like FOX did with the video, the severe beating of a white man by a group of blacks in Chicago. Just assumed he was a Trump supporter and shouted so.

While reading an article about Ann Coulter saying, “if there weren’t any fat girls there would be no protests”, the associated picture indeed showed a group of mostly fat girls protesting. Well, okay.

But also in the picture was a girl who appeared to be white, sporting a sign that declared, “confront whiteness”.

Did CNN report the white coeds at Temple U who got the sh-t beat out of them last week by a 200 black ‘youts’ just for the helluva it?

“Everything you have and everything you are is because of White Men.” (janos)

“All 21st-century innovations are in fact derived from alien technology secretly recovered from downed UFOs, except for noise-canceling headphones, which were totally us.

Every official to hold elected office since the mid-20th century has gotten to peek at an alien corpse and poke it with a stick.

The Secretary of Agriculture is routinely forced to downplay the significance of massive crop circles that appear without warning across the Midwest

Extraterrestrial encounters are covered up for fear that ordinary citizens would be unable to cope with how much better looking aliens are than us.

No one at the National Weather Service can recall ever launching a single one of these high-altitude balloons.” –The Onion

Men build, Women decorate. You (generic) all are hot house flowers lacking in humility. But when the greenhouse cracks, you’re a gonna learn some.

    Farewell, America
No matter how the rest of the world looked at us on Nov. 7, they will now look at us differently.

“America died on Nov. 8, 2016, not with a bang or a whimper, but at its own hand via electoral suicide. We the people chose a man who has shredded our values, our morals, our compassion, our tolerance, our decency, our sense of common purpose, our very identity — all the things that, however tenuously, made a nation out of a country.
This generally has been called the “hate election” because everyone professed to hate both candidates. It turned out to be the hate election because, and let’s not mince words, of the hatefulness of the electorate. In the years to come, we will brace for the violence, the anger, the racism, the misogyny, the xenophobia, the nativism, the white sense of grievance that will undoubtedly be unleashed now that we have destroyed the values that have bound us.

We all knew these hatreds lurked under the thinnest veneer of civility. That civility finally is gone. In its absence, we may realize just how imperative that politesse was. It is the way we managed to coexist.

If there is a single sentence that characterizes the election, it is this: “He says the things I’m thinking.” That may be what is so terrifying. Who knew that so many tens of millions of white Americans were thinking unconscionable things about their fellow Americans? Who knew that tens of millions of white men felt so emasculated by women and challenged by minorities? Who knew that after years of seeming progress on race and gender, tens of millions of white Americans lived in seething resentment, waiting for a demagogue to arrive who would legitimize their worst selves and channel them into political power? Perhaps we had been living in a fool’s paradise. Now we aren’t.

This country has survived a civil war, two world wars, and a great depression. There are many who say we will survive this, too. Maybe we will, but we won’t survive unscathed. We know too much about each other to heal. No more can we pretend that we are exceptional or good or progressive or united. We are none of those things. Nor can we pretend that democracy works and that elections have more or less happy endings. Democracy only functions when its participants abide by certain conventions, certain codes of conduct and a respect for the process.”
