Anybody else notice Joe Biden styling himself as Abe Lincoln this week? Uh, bad career move, pal. Someone ought to notify the Democratic Party leader that a) Mr. Lincoln was a Republican, and b) he was a racist through and through (BLM certified). The presidential frontrunner is unlikely to win more “woke” hearts-and-minds with this latest stunt. Maybe if they put him in a wheelchair the voters might think he was the second coming of Franklin Roosevelt (though he actually looks more like post-stroke Woodrow Wilson, a racist to the bone, they say).

Notice, too, that Uncle Joe appeared in Honest Abe drag to announce that US coronavirus deaths had reached “a hundred and twenty million.” Say, what? That would be roughly one-third of the US population! Excuse me for wondering if the candidate is being a little less than perfectly frank with us. And the costume didn’t really put that gag over, either. Anyway, the Democratic Party must be lovin’ it, despite the crocodile tears about the virus shed by The New York Times, because a new wave means that even more American businesses will be destroyed, more jobs lost, more careers extinguished, the battered economy will get brutally smacked down again, and it will all make President Trump look even more unelectable.

Suspicious minds may be prompted to wonder whether years of fake news from Wokesterdom’s media allies have finally produced the ultimate hoax: a completely fake candidate for president. Mr. Biden has gone-to-ground for three months since sweeping the Super Tuesday primaries by some strange coup of polling station magic. No campaign glad-handing, baby-kissing, and maiden-sniffing among those virus-saturated crowds for Uncle Joe this time around! And Gawd forbid any press conferences or spontaneous remarks — poor Mr. Biden tends to flub even his scripted statements. It’s a bit hard to imagine how his acceptance speech will go… and… Lordy… the debates!  In the immortal words of rap impresario Jay-Z, “Nigga, Please!” (available on Amazon Music, by the way— thank you, Jeff Bezos, humanitarian).

This Joe Biden thang is being set up as some kind of  bait-and-switch, but the scheme is a little too obvious, dontcha think? Mr. Biden has obliged himself to choose a “woman-of-color” as his running mate, of course, and so it is assumed that about twenty minutes after the swearing-in on January 20, 2021, Stacey Abrams (or Val Demings, or Kamala Harris, or Tawana Brawley) will become de facto president, and we’ll be off to the races, so to speak. It’s a cute gambit, but I don’t see it playing out. You may be unaware of this but the Democratic Party is actually owned, lock-stock-and-barrel, by the Clinton Foundation. It has something else in mind. Due to the unfortunate last minute discovery of Joe Biden’s incapacity to serve, She Whose Turn Was Thwarted in 2016 will perforce be the party’s nominee for an epic rematch with the Golden Golem of Greatness. Let’s face it: everybody wants to see that contest. And an election with mail-in ballots will cinch her victory.

In the meantime, she remains concealed deep in her Chappaqua, New York, Fortress of Solitude, mirthfully free of having to offer her views on the current goings-on across America. Speaking of which, you’d think that her place-holder, Mr. Biden, would grudge up a comment or two about all the mayhem loosed upon the land these recent fevered weeks, a few soothing words requesting that the Resistance youth corps of America desist from looting, arson, and pulling down statues of every dead white person ever mistakenly placed on a pedestal to beam waves of racist hatred at the oppressed multitudes. But he remains enigmatically silent about it. Perhaps no one has informed him of all the action in the streets since the tragic killing of George Floyd.

What’s quite a bit stranger, though, is the silence of Joe Biden’s mentor and spirit-guide, former president Barack Obama. Surely Mr. Obama has witnessed the mayhem from Seattle’s Capitol Hill to Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, from Midtown Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue to Lafayette Square just across the way from the place he called home for eight years. Surely he would be The One to call for an end to the violent destruction. Has something got him distracted? What could it be…?

Consider this dystopian alternative – Biden and the wicked witch of westchester get leapfrogged by “Draft Cuomo” movement; Emperor Cuomigula FINALLY gets the big chance to put his “daddy issues” to rest by running for the big job.

Of course, if the choice for the office of president of the United States comes down to two blowhard narcissists from Queens, we really do deserve the giant asteroid.

This week, I dutifully watched white men being asked if they had been the recipient of white privilege. They answered in the affirmative. I wished they had asked me. “No, I have not been the recipient of white privilege”. I seem to recall a struggle through college while working more than one part-time job. A later struggle in graduate school while working a demanding full-time job. Oh, and that three day professional exam I took was no picnic.
In my professional career, there was nothing better than a qualified minority. And goodness, if you were female and a minority, well hot damn, you were going places. White privilege, oh please….

    • Kevvia Knack June 26, 2020 at 10:59 am #

The term “white privilege” riles up Trump supporters and working class white people to no end. Using the term is a sure fire way of getting Trump supporters to the polls.

The standard response to that idiocy is to run off the list of inventions/discoveries by whites (primarily males):

      The scientific method

      The train

      The car

      The airplane

      The internal combustion engine

      The printing press

      The typewriter

      The camera

      The telephone

      The radio

      The television

      The light bulb

      The refrigerator

      The laws of motion

      The Periodic Table

      General/special relativity

      Theory of Evolution

      Direct current

      Alternating current

      The electric motor

      The transistor

      The integrated circuit

      The microprocessor

      The computer

      Computer programming language

      The internet
      The microscope

      The electron microscope

      DNA molecule

      The antibiotic

      The vaccination

      Liquid-fueled rockets

      The satellite

      The telescope

      Nuclear fusion

      Nuclear fission

      etc, etc

Then say, “I am indeed privileged to be part of the group that is responsible for all that human ingenuity and innovation. Thanks for noticing.”

I would go even further and propose a Day Without the White Man’s Inventions where POC™ forgo all of the above (and that’s just a partial list). When a culture that did not exactly define the cutting edge has to look at that level of achievement, a little resentment on the part of its members is only natural (I suppose that’s another way of rephrasing Peterson’s notion that what the postmodernists hate the most is competence) but if you can’t stomach the “patriarchy”, you don’t get to use the stuff it created.

As far as these effeminate whites in love with self-debasement go, they’re a lost cause. If what appears to be the proto- Sturm Abteilung phase of American history leads to Civil War 2.0, they will quite literally be men (?) without a country, objects of disgust by one side and objects of distrust by the other.

      • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 12:01 pm #

Quite so. And the whole purpose of our university system is turn out these abominations. Hopefully the riots and the virus (both real and imagined) deal a death blow to this Leviathan. The ongoing economic disaster should help too. What healthy parent would bankrupt themselves just to ruin their children?

        • King of Comedy June 26, 2020 at 12:25 pm #

I doubt we’ll see a #DefundTheUniversity hashtag anytime soon but that doesn’t mean it isn’t trending in parents’ (and taxpayers’) minds.

The pathetic case of Evergreen College and Brett Weinstein is an excellent illustration of this phenomenon (as an aside, how is a college that accepts 97% of applicants, as Evergreen does, different in any particulars from Trump University or any of the other online diploma mills?… as another aside, how does one make it into that 3% rejected group?- it literally confounds the mind considering the possibilities).

      • Jigplate June 26, 2020 at 1:11 pm #

Much has been made recently about the comming American civil war 2.0 If you’ve not heard it already, there is an interesting podcast “It could happen here”
It’s a story told from a leftist point of view. For example, the author thinks that the next American genocide will be perpetrated by Christian fundamentalists, and at the end , the fictional protagonist winds up as a border guard for the only functioning polity left in the old US in the Pacific Northwest ( A la Seattle) who gets his ironic jollies by deporting white conservative border crossers. There is however, a telling chapter that I think the author nails spot on. “How the American people can defeat the US military” describes the terrorist “maker” culture of ISIS and Syrian rebel groups, and how “off the shelf” and low-cost hacked technology can be used to defeat high-tech military resources. A dozen US cities erupting in a drawn out long term period of unrest, will overwhelm military resources, and generate an entire population of resentful militias of every political ideology.

Any of above long list of inventions/discoveries by male and female whites, yellows, blacks, browns and others – can NOT violate the laws of Physics:

“No energy system can produce sum useful energy in excess of the total energy put into constructing it.
This universal truth applies to all energy systems.
Energy, like time, flows from past to future.

      • Ivehadenough June 27, 2020 at 11:52 am #

Nice post King! Well, we didn’t exactly invent DNA but we sure discovered what it is where you find some. And I can’t believe anyone with an IQ over 3.00001 can’t look and see this whole BLM thing actually doesn’t matter. Mayhem, looting and arson being done by essentially stupid street thugs/punks along with misinformed white social studies majors and grads and their wanna be” Che” make believers count for anything that has any value. It’s sickening to watch these useless as*holes pulling down statues of America’s greatest citizens. Bummer there’s but a few POC to actually erect statues to. To me when/if they really get too far afield true Americans will finally take the law into their own hands and “quell” these stupid morons and it probably won’t be pretty. The majority of Americans black/white will one day finally put this nonsense to an end. Voting to disband the Minneapolis police force by the city council is, in my opinion, just bringing that day of reckoning closer. Sadly I would expect a lot of innocent people will be victims as well as the afore mentioned idiots and losers. When the violence and mayhem explodes there if they actually disband the PF watch out. Friends have mentioned you can’t find many calibers of ammo as they are being bought out. Not looted by these pathetic knuckleheads but legally purchased. Take a guess who’s purchasing them……yup. I worked hard my whole life, served in the military and raised a daughter alone. If these useless stupid morons want to take my home and belongings b/c they somehow think they’re “entitled to them” it comes with a price. Even the thought of reparations is so silly it makes one wonder exactly how stupid these people actually are. Trillions spent on POC and every advantage imaginable given to them and most still can’t act like like normal people. I have no beef with anyone except when they step over my property line and/or think I somehow owe anyone anything. I’m first generation so no one in my family had any dealings with slavery or any of it’s legacy.

Also, I wonder why no country in the world with the exception of the USA has any of these “reparations” nonsense or so called racial advantages or even “black privilege’s”. Africa was the epicenter of slavery with black on black ownership and which country fought it’s own white population to end it? People all over the world want to sneak in to the USA, I say shut up or find a new country. Enough.

I find it odd as I work as an inventor these days and occasionally go to events where there are tens of thousands of other inventors just like me in attendance. It may seem strange but 99% of the inventors are white or Asian men. In the decades that I’ve done this, I have yet to see a black female inventor – not once.

I’m not saying that black females lack the capacity to invent just that it doesn’t seem to interest them.

I should also mention that I’ve been a gamer for 40+ years. I’ve also noticed that the gaming community is 99% men. It isn’t that women can’t play games only that it would appear that women do not want to play them.

Finally, we’ve never had a female world champion chess player – not in all of the history of chess. How can that be if women are the equal to men in every regard?

        • King of Comedy June 26, 2020 at 1:55 pm #

When one looks at animal populations, inequality is the foundational principle. Survival of a species depends on the superiority of one trait over another and therefore as that trait is expressed, the superiority of the group or individuals possessing that trait over those who do not. Whoever finds that problematic should blame God (if you’re into that kind of thing).

Human beings of course do many things to counter the natural order but the natural order wins in the end. It’s always just a matter of time.

          • Ivehadenough June 27, 2020 at 11:55 am #

Another great lesson explained. Woefully I suspect these idiots will never understand these words of wisdom

Women have a tough row to hoe in life. If they are straight, which I assume the vast majority are, they are driven in pursuit of an acceptable mate. That translates into pursuit of Beauty. There is only so much time in a day so invention and games must fall by the wayside.

          • Q. Shtik June 26, 2020 at 2:15 pm #

I have observed this pursuit of Beauty all my life. I am a husband and father of a daughter. Once Beauty is achieved it doesn’t end there. It ends when they draw their last breath. As I have described before, my 91 year old mother-in-law would climb into the passenger seat of my car and immediately access the sun visor mirror to check her look. I once was rude enough to say “Mom, at your age, how could you even ‘give a shit?”

        • Mountain gal June 26, 2020 at 2:04 pm #

I think that different things appeal to women than men in general. So it’s not that women can’t program computers, do engineering or invent things; some in fact do just that. But mostly it’s men this appeals to. Women have higher verbal skills as well as other traits. I can also tell you that it has been difficult for women to gain skills and experience using tools and building things. When shop classes were routinely offered in schools, most girls were relegated to home ec; don’t think a lot of schools even offer shop anymore. Dad’s generally taught their sons how to use tools but not their daughters.

            Mountain gal

Socialization is not the key to understanding the differences in life choices between men and women.

Like females of all sentient species, all women are biologically programed to be interested in bearing children and raising a family. Obvious to anyone not blinded by politically correctness.

Far more admirable than males, who are driven by testosterone to dominate other males, fight wars, accumulate the symbols of wealth and power, and impregnate as many females as possible.

          • Ozymandius June 26, 2020 at 6:56 pm #

Higher verbal skills? Maybe women talk more, but most of what I hear them talking about is vacuous nonsense. Talking for the sake of talking.

        • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 2:51 pm #

Well women have now gotten into Gaming and seem intent on destroying it via political correctness. In Dungeons and Dragons, Orcs are now just “people” and Elves nothing special. Denuded of the sense of hierarchy, of high and low, good and evil, which is the bedrock of European Mythology (or any other!) then the Game just falls flat into flatland.

Magic the Gathering has also been recently savage, with many cards deleted for pc reasons.

A guy who big arms want to use those arms and show them off. A girl with great legs want to show them off and attract men with big arms. A greyhound wants to use those long legs and run. A pit bull wants to use those powerful jaws and bite something. Thus do the mind and body go together. I doubt if Black women could invent anything. Those who can, generally do.

I once saw an unfortunate guy who had the shoulders of a Hercules and a very feminine lower body. And his face? To reconcile these divergent elements in his being he would have had to have been a god. Instead he had the face of a bum. He wasn’t an overman but an underman.

An equation is an abstract method of saying, “I can’t detect any differences.” It is, quite literally, an illusion used in many working hypotheses with some apparent success. Used in the meaningless comparison of male and female humans, equality was foisted on the masses some time back while it’s continued practice does little more than feed the beast beasty treats.

But I don’t make up the rules; I just enforce them. You’re fired.

Oh man, brother, you’re not supposed to write like that, you know, the obvious. I suspect you’ll get thousands of females writing about it’s all patriarchy and blah, blah, blah. When my daughter was young my ex wife was a child abuser and it took me 84 trips to court to get full custody. After that she walked away and never visited my daughter again. • Robert White June 26, 2020 at 12:12 pm #

I am a white Anglo-Saxon male with an actual last name of White and I have never had any work at all aside from a six month stint in E.B. Eddy Forest Products Ltd. back in the 80s right after graduating a two year diploma programme in Mechanical Engineering / Tool & Die Making. Post 80s I went to university and attained an Honours degree in Experimental Psychology. Since graduation and attainment of that degree I have never worked full time or even part time as only odd contracting jobs for a few days here & there supplied subsistence level living at bare minimum as my chances of attaining employment dwindled in complete abject poverty living in my parents’ basement until the age of 48 when they took dirt naps in unison as my fraternal twin sister from Hell pilfered family coffers via POA & POAFC.

After literally starting work at the age of 15 and now arriving at the age of 60 I, for one, can honestly state that ‘white privilege’ did not help myself one iota when it came to gainful employment via education.

Society broke the social contract with myself, and others, long ago I would say. In 40 years of searching for work of either blue collar variety or white collar variety I have had exactly zero success to date.

Last night I saw an old fortune cookie in the top drawer of the kitchen drawers and I decided to scarf it down. Inside the cookie contained six double digit numbers with the fortune written as follows,

‘A financial investment will yield returns beyond your hopes.’ and the number is typed below.

Tertiary education offers the same fortune as the stale fortune cookie that I found in my upper cutlery drawer last night with no exception or difference whatsoever as I see it after forty years of looking to survive & prosper.

Not even Albert Einstein would counsel one to continue down that dead ended course of thinking & inaction.

White privilege is real enough as I can see instances of it daily, but as for being one that has experienced white privilege myself I would not agree with that at all.

I am as white male as they get and I have never accumulated any assets worth mention. No work translates into victim blaming for people such as myself. For forty years I have been the poor sot attempting to get work via education, but after attaining education in all the right areas there was only part time minimum wage service sector work with no hours and only precarious employment at best.

You have told your story before and I have found it gut wrenching. I truly feel bad for you.

When I read the line about attaining “an Honours degree in Experimental Psychology” an old line I used to use on my daughter when she informed me she was going to major in “Women’s Studies” popped into my head: “That, and 2 bucks, will get you a ride on the subway.” Truth be told, though, she has been able to make a living in Retail, of all things.

I was supposed to do the Ph.D. thingy after my first degree but my professors were jealous of my connections in Clinical Psychology and did not want to see me excel past them at Carleton so I was never recommended for graduate school but the best in the world did ask me to attend the University of Hawaii Clinical Studies programme for M.A. & Ph.D. Unfortunately, one cannot attend graduate studies in the USA without a whole heck of a lot of cash to burn that I was not imbued with via heritage.

Instead of graduate school I, for one, got to take care of my ungrateful parents, their clone home in the suburbs, and domestic pets, plus my older Functionally Retarded brother that is not unlike Fredo in the Godfather in so far as he would sell me out for a slice of pizza just like my evil fraternal twin sister from Hell except he is stupid like Fredo.

If you think my situation is gut wrenching I assure you it is something much worse for myself. Gut wrenching would be a welcome relief to my actual life, Q.

Life does go on even though it completely sucks IMHO. Some are lucky and others are not so much. At least I am realistically screwed for life and not deluded about winning the lottery, eh.

I have always bet long on rags to riches so I don’t give up until the fat lady sings.

          Cheers, Q.

Vlad, I live in Ottawa CANADA where Parliament is stacked to the rafters with white dudes that think they are multicultural in breadth & scope of white dude hegemony.

Ottawa just got our first black chief of police and our first area councillor last electoral round because our city of one million people could no longer hide the fact that Ottawa is a racist city with racist leanings in so far as we had one bad ass mayor back in the 50 & early 60s that liked to wave a gun around in politicians faces and threaten them with a bullet if she did not get her way much like Phil Spector did before he was jailed for murder.

Mayor Charlotte Whitton was a white Anglo-Saxon douchebag racist piece of excrement that even went as far as to deny Jews safety in CANADA post World War Two.

I see white privilege every single day in Ottawa CANADA via the racist white-centric news media too, Vlad.

Or should we refer to you as Sredni Vastar ferret God instead?

Ancestry on both sides is from England. I respect First Nations but they sure as heck have no reason to respect my heritage I assure you.

Colonialism is not something First Nations ‘Indians’ cotton to as they say down south USA. To refer to Canadians as ‘Indians’ is a bit much given my ancestry & genomic lineage by comparison with aboriginal Canada.

This is a profoundly senseless time for our country. To say it is sad doesn’t do justice to this time. It is beyond sad, or senseless. It is stupid. It is willfully neglectful. It’s criminal. It’s thoughtless.

I was struck by a picture I saw yesterday of the military guarding the Lincoln Memorial.

It feels like we are going to the brink of the end of civilization. As an adult with young children (and someone who has seen countries like Yugoslavia collapse), this is extremely, extremely scary. I know what lies on the other side– and there is long & brutal way from that reality to what was written in A World Made by Hand novels.

    • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 11:56 am #

Yes, it’s a long collapse. Most important is this: we burned through all the easy fossil fuels in order to learn what we learned. The knowledge gained at the price of fossil fuels meant we could escape the Malthusian trap.

Except now we have a radical movement that doesn’t care about knowledge and is setting about destroying it. The crown jewel of Western civilization. Meanwhile, no one can restore the easy fossil fuels.

If there is a world made by hand, and a forgetting of what was needed to create solar panels, there is no way to re-learn that knowledge by burning fossil fuels.

      • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 12:08 pm #

Despite all of our knowledge, we simply could not forgive ourselves for being human. To accept that the world is a place of strife and that we had to conquer and displace the natives in order to win ourselves a home.

When the radicals say, “You’re living on stolen land”, are you going to argue with them? Or that the Founders were racists? Of course they were. We have to take the blow and go with it. Execute a judo throw. There is no other way. We must love ourselves as the Founders did. And for the rest of humanity? Our defense must be an inner, Who cares? Christianity is the enemy now. We need the Old Testament, not the new.

The Muslims put it very well: Jesus taught the Way to the other world, but Mohammad taught that Way and also the Way in this world.

Quite so. It’s not as if they were pacifists. We’re all warlike – we were just better at it, mostly because of our technology and then our numbers as well.

Several Sioux went back East as curiousities to be displayed. Their elders told them to count how many Whites there were. When they got back eventually, they told them of the disaster. They had stopped counting the first day. The Whites were as locusts and they should prepare for the End.

Sometimes these and other tribes fought well. Thus we honored them by naming teams after them etc. Some Indians find this offensive and some don’t. Our attitude should be, So what? Either that or prepare to leave. There’s no middle ground here.

Jim has artistic license and likely knows better than to write futurist novels overladen with negative prospects for the future. Moreover, if Jim had written a morose & darkly themed futurist novel not many adherents to his writing would be gained assuming that the real future will be one much more onerous than the one Jim wrote, and that people generally like to think of the future as prosperous by some measure whether material or otherwise instead of the alternative.

Writers pick their material and write about it knowing that some aspects will be fiction and others will end up as non-fiction when all is said and done lending synthesis to afterthought.

From what I can see he is not far off reality and closer than most in the futurist realm.

If you wanna see a pretty OK (meaning somewhat realistic) movie (and true story) about civil collapse watch the HBO film “Shot Through the Heart”. I cried the first time I watched that movie, it was so on point.

I think it realistically shows the reaction of normal families during a time of breakdown.

If you think it won’t or can’t happen to the US, or that there is a firm line in civilization to stop this from happening, or that “people will just do the right thing”, you are seriously & dangerously deluded.

“Behind Enemy Lines” had some scenes of small arms and mortar fire and finally tanks rumbling through what was an urban shopping zone during the Yugoslavian disintegration.

Imagine the opposing sides slugging it out at the Mall of America with tanks and artillery.

We’d all be wishing for the good old days of just your average neighborhood looter/arsonist.

No worries though. The Woke are buying handguns in great numbers. Studies show 1 in 8 newbies shoot themselves.

Tucker last night showed a gun fight in one of our cities – with the police just driving right by it without stopping. In France a few days ago, White cops curled up into fetal balls as Black women beat them. They decided not to defend themselves lest they be destroyed by the system. The sun is far down in the western sky, and night comes.

We refuse to support our own. We refuse to love ourselves. This was inevitable since the racial equality laws went into effect, admitting vast numbers of people who will never assimilate into our lands and in effect, putting them over ourselves.

      • Kim June 26, 2020 at 9:49 pm #

People need long guns for war. Only 15% of whites in the USA own a long gun. A hand gun is of limited use in a civil war situation.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.

    Napoleon Bonaparte

If Obama and the Dems can stand back from the scene of the accident and avoid being splattered with blood they are going to do it, hoping the President will take the blame for everything. Gutless is the only word to describe that, and they better hope the american public isn’t smart enough to see through it. Or see through blaming Trump for the ‘handling’ of the Covid crisis when really everything is under state control just as is the CHOP crisis in Washington state. I think most americans know a swindle when they see one and with only 4 months to go I still think he’ll get a second term. If the opposite occurs and americans get snookered into electing the Dems then it will truly be a case of getting the government you deserve. Take a look north at the asshole who got elected and be guided accordingly.

    • ThorsHammer June 26, 2020 at 3:56 pm #

Is there really any reason why Biden cannot Appoint Obama to be his Vice President? The constitution prohibits Obama from being Elected to a third term, but it is vague about who the acting President can Appoint as his Vice.and whether an appointed vice president could then secede to the Presidency. As for the Constitution, it didn’t stop the Repugs from choosing Dick Cheney to be the mentally deficient Little Bush’s minder/VP in spite of his candidacy being Constitutionally prohibited because Cheney physically resided in the same state as Bush.

As for the nightmare of the Return of the Hildabeast, Biden (or his handlers) has stated that he will choose a woman of color as his Vice. Hillary is already yellow from jaundice and old age, so she is fully qualified.

    • Kim June 26, 2020 at 9:59 pm #

“I think most americans know a swindle when they see one”

Do you really believe that? The entire society is a swindle yet the population still rolls around in it like a dog in manure.

For Godsake, if you ask people about their favorite commericals, they’ll quick as you like rattle off five or six. Then ask them to tell you about the last informative book they read. You’ll get the silence of the tomb.

How can people spot a swindle when their whole identity as competitive consumers is dependent on rejoicing in being swindled?

I sometimes thnk that the greatest advice that any young person can ever get is “Don’t believe your own bullsh1t”. But it is advice that the people of the United States have apparently never heard.

That’s exactly it. A colossal failure of parenting.

This is what the “everybody gets a trophy” model looks like when the spoiled monsters run up against reality because life on this planet has never been in the business of giving participation trophies (although, speaking of colossal failures, I suppose one could argue that things the Great Society attempted to circumvent that reality).

      • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 12:06 pm #

        Oh, come on.

You have a Boomer elite that has monopolized all the premium positions in the Professional Managerial class. They only let go of those when grim death seizes them. Or, perhaps, Me Too or “racism” displaces them.

The poster child for this was the Philadelphia Inquirer editor, solid liberal he, who was fired for “buildings matter, too.” Nice that a well-paid position opened up.

The young didn’t create this clusterfuck. They’re just much more able to push things to their logical limit, like ruthless child soldiers in Africa. The good news is that what was comfortable liberalism 12 years ago (Obama opposing gay marriage) is unforgivable today, which should get a lot of the liberal elite defenestrated.

        Enjoy the show.

Hillary said the same about gay marriage. They roll it out when it’s time. Timing is everything. If you knew what they actually believed, it might be stunning. Perhaps nothing at all! Or in sex with children, etc.

I would recommend you have a nice discussion with a millennial or two. Generalizations are always partial pictures but there is a distinctly different worldview at work there.

Plenty of blame to go around though and the Boomers most definitely played the lead role in building the bed we’re lying in, including the parenting model I cite.

Weird thing on this site but you have to reply to yourself in some cases.

What’s that old axiom? Hard times create strong men; strong men create good times; good times create weak men; weak men create hard times… rinse, repeat (sexist I know but “men” has a better ring to it imo).

(Or maybe a more apt quote from Adams:

I must study politics and war, that our sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. Our sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history and naval architecture, navigation, commerce and agriculture in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry and porcelain.”

            that has now morphed into:

I must study critical race theory in order to give myself the right to destroy statuary.)

The Boomers were a central-casting rendition of those weak men but alas, the free stuff for everybody generation does not seem to be the strong men coming to rejuvenate the system, just weaker men trying to make their weakness a universal value.

I like the Historian bloke who researched the role of Chinese people fighting for the Confederacy during the US Civil War. I guess that the point of that research was that Chinese people are just as much a part of American history as everyone else? I wonder what happened to all of the Cherokee slave owners during the Civil War?

Who was the Comanche Geezer who thought that he’d teach the Comanche to get off the Reservation by becoming big cattle ranchers like the Cartwright’s in the 1960’s TV show “Bonanza”? “Don’t scalp ‘em; Get low interest loans from the White people and Sell shit to ‘em” and then plow the profits back into the ranch.” Of course, the response from the other Comanche was: “But if we do that, then we can’t scalp ‘em, so what’s the point?”

Have I mentioned lately that Michael Landon (Little Joe) and I lived a few blocks away from one another and went to the same HS in Collingswood, NJ. His real name was Eugene Orowitz, a stellar javelin thrower, and Jewish on his father’s side, I believe.

  11. HowardBeale June 26, 2020 at 10:49 am #

“But he remains enigmatically silent about it. Perhaps no one has informed him of all the action in the streets since the tragic killing of George Floyd.”

Jabberwocky Joe probably knows little of ground-level goings-on, as he hasn’t yet worked his way through all the seasons of ‘The West Wing’ on Netflix. It wouldn’t be surprising to find that his wife is in control of the remote and she keeps playing the same episode–which looks slightly familiar to Joe and makes him think he has predictive powers–so as not to frighten him with the reality upstairs.

    • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 12:13 pm #

“The killing of George Floyd” as JHK wrote assumes facts, don’t you think?

      • HowardBeale June 26, 2020 at 3:39 pm #

        Ok, Doc,
What do suppose the outcomes–societal repercussions–are for the following verdicts returned by the jury?

        1. Innocent
        2. Involuntary manslaughter
        3. Voluntary manslaughter
        4. Felony murder (as charged)

If you are unsure of the definitions:

        • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 5:21 pm #

Involuntary Manslaughter, which is still killing. Not murder, but still. From your link:

“Involuntary manslaughter: the unintentional killing of another person through an act of recklessness that shows indifference to the lives and safety of others, or an act of negligence that could reasonably be foreseen to result in death. The act that results in death may be intentional, such as pushing somebody in anger, but their death (such as by their subsequently falling, striking their head, and suffering a lethal head injury) is not.”

My guess is “not guilty” (different from innocent) would lead to rioting, and felony murder isn’t provable. Can they convict for involuntary manslaughter if they charge felony murder? If not, you might get a not guilty verdict.

          • Kim June 26, 2020 at 10:14 pm #

Forget the law. The racial composition of the jury and the word from on high will give you the result.

The trial will be as fair and objective as the trial of James Fields of Charlotteseville fame.

In that case, a morbidly obese woman, Heather Heyer, had a heart attack while part of a mob trying to assault Fields in his car. Fields was subsequently charged with murder and found guilt.

The sentence? Life in prison with an additional 419 years. In order to avoid the death penalty, Fields also had to plead guilty to 29 of 30 federal hate crime charges. For these charges he was sentenced to an additional life sentence.

So, yeh, Justice is blind, dontchaknow?

    This is precisely the plan.

Elect the white senile man, and replace him in a few with a “minority” female.

The VP candidates all read the memo. They know the game-plan. They know they do not stand as good as a chance of getting elected outright.

Why do you think they acquiesced so quickly and quietly?

Biden is the foot being shoved in the door.

When he is indicted, begins drooling years part 2, gets lost in the rose garden, or simply drops dead, he will be replaced.

While the imbecilic voting public, the consumers, or citizens, are once again preoccupied with plandemics (to allow for mail-in voting or at least hard to identify masked voting) and purposefully stoked historical/racial animus, the DNC led by Obama, Clinton Inc., and McAuliffe, etc., are continuing their orchestrated campaign to hijack this country by an way shape or means be it a soft coup or trojan horse candidacy

    • Urinthe Village June 26, 2020 at 11:46 am #

Despite the dogmatic devotion to democracy that we’ve all been browbeaten with since Kindergarten, the sad fact is that democracy allocates the 50% of people with an IQ below average the same voting power as the 50 per cent who have greater than average intelligence.

I’ve been amused for years about how the only thing Republicans and Democrats agree upon is how stupid the voters are, depending on the outcome of the last election. People only truly believe in democracy when the votes are going their way. This is most easily observed now by watching the panties-in-a-wad snowflakes spouting off about “burning the system down if we don’t get what we want. Waah.”

Whenever I hear a politician or a pundit preface a statement with, “I think the American People are smart enough to realize that…,” I immediately tune out. They are of course lying, because no politician has the slightest respect for the voters or their putative intelligence. The preface would more accurately be replaced with, “Maybe enough of the American People are stupid enough to believe what I am about to say….”

Democracy guarantees that stupidity reigns most frequently. A Dictatorship or Monarchy may have some good moments, but ultimately evil will reign. They are both lousy systems, mainly because a sizeable chunk of people are just plain baseline stupid, and all people have the capacity for evil.

The demise of civilizations was baked into the cake when it began. The momentary illusion that we somehow had things figured out was fueled, literally, by the discovery of petroleum that transiently has allowed a lot more people to eat and successfully breed. As it winds down, things will return to economies based upon conquest and enslavement of both animals and people. Any World Made by Hand is going to have to contend with the people over the hill that want your village’s potato crop, shovels, horses, oxen, and females. To protect all that the village is going to have to cough up taxes for the local warlord’s protection. Feudalism was the dominant pre-industrial system, and will be the predominant post-industrial system.

Along the way, watch for much wailing and gnashing of teeth. Mark your calendars, it began in earnest in 2020. Or 1973. Or 2008. Or argue about some other date, it doesn’t really matter, does it?

      • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 12:22 pm #

Quite so. An utter contempt for human beings is at the root our System, but better contempt than mindless overestimation and silly glorification. People are dummies for the most part. The Founders loathed Democracy and wanted voting restricted to the very few. A far better idea, even it their criterion for qualification was too narrow.

        • Billy Hill June 26, 2020 at 4:01 pm #

Democracy is pretty much summed up by the dinner question between two wolves and a sheep. Ultimately it just ain’t good logic if you happen to be outvoted.

Greer used to comment about the yeoman farmers who would listen to the Lincoln-Douglas debates which went on for hours involving much parsing. Greer and I would submit they were not dummies — maybe not educated but not dummies. There is some speculation that people have become less intelligent as the rigors of life have eased in the modern world. We get pissed off when the “easy-open” “convenient” package of salami fails us. Savages attacking the homestead requiring presence of mind and truly real survival skills are not even a distant memory.

Hence Lincoln could offer his famous aphorism about not fooling all the people all the time. Maybe that could have been said with truth about the yeoman farmers. Looking around at today’s barnyard Lincoln might have second thoughts.

      • Doc Holliday June 26, 2020 at 12:26 pm #

245 years ago, the phrase, “No taxation without representation” was THE catch phrase. How quaint. Now a days, I believe a more apt phrase would be “No representation without taxation”. The free stuff crowd, contributing little or zero, should not be allowed to determine how my taxed wages are spent on their behalf with none of my input. My ‘feelings get hurt’ when they get my stuff for no effort. And we know its all about ‘feelings’…..

Good old Al also played a significant role in ginning up the antisemitic lynch mob that murdered Yankel Rosenbaum (a black lynch mob… go figure).

Al though is just one in a long line of black folks who have tiptoed to the Himmler Shuffle. I suspect the antisemitism coming from the intersectional crowd in general and black folks in particular is born of the fact that Jews, although among the most persecuted peoples in history, have generally been very successful wherever they have settled (the fact that Jews, comprising .2% of the world’s population, have accounted for 22% of the Nobel Prizes in the sciences is a remarkable testament to this phenomenon). Demonstrating pretty convincingly that “oppression” doesn’t preclude success is simply bad form. It makes the underserved look bad.

      • Mountain gal June 26, 2020 at 2:15 pm #

        @ King of Comedy

Yes indeed. I always suspect that some of the antipathy that blacks reserve for Jews has to do with the fact that Jews have managed to succeed despite all that has happened to them(us). In Israel it is so nice to be around blacks that don’t hate you for being a Jew as they too are Jewish!

        • King of Comedy June 26, 2020 at 2:28 pm #

I am not Jewish but I admire achievement. For similar reasons, I have great respect for the academic achievements of people of Asian descent in the US. Blanket statements about one group or another of course are always generalizations but creative, intelligent people of any shade inspire; the perpetual victim crowd has quite the opposite effect.

Yes, and Jews and Asians can be found living harmoniously in the same communities here in the US as they have similar values and attributes: hard work, education, family, community etc. US Jews and Asians struggle and have conflict trying to share an area with blacks however as the value systems are quite different.

Where did you get the fact about the “killing” of George Floyd, as opposed to his simply dying?

      • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 12:29 pm #

Inner childishness will do the trick too. Black Lives matter? No, my life matters. That’s all that need be said.

As for Floyd, are you really a doctor? Then you know or should know that a confluence of events is always happening. Do people die of the Flu or its symptoms? Or because they’re old or fat, etc. Same thing here probably.

Some have said that Blacks are weaker against choke holds than White are. The races do differ in subtle physical ways. I have no problem with knees on necks being banned. Many police seem very callous when it comes to prisoners.

        • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 5:22 pm #

I thought Mr. Floyd had has hands cuffed behind his back the entire time he was on the pavement with the cops knee on his neck?

If he was resisting that much with cuffs placed that four cops could not arrest him then perhaps the psych unit of the paramedics should have been called? A nice straight jacket and some ankle bracelets might have been appropriate. And 10 mg. of Valium IM?

At least they are finally discussing the fact that we need national policing standards and new rules on policing. Here’s one I like. If a cop murders someone in the line of duty or is fired with cause, he/she cannot be hired as a cop in any other state.

          • Nightowl June 26, 2020 at 1:42 pm #

I agree that cops are too violent, and that there are major issues to be solved; however, Floyd fought them. There is another video where he is struggling with them in a squad car.

Furthermore, there is additional footage that Keith Ellison refuses to release. And when a guy like Keith “Antifa” Ellison is holding the footage back, this is a good indicator that there is a lot more to the story that we are not privy to.

          • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 5:25 pm #

Read the article, Abby. It suggests what and why
George might have needed 4 men to subdue him. It also suggests that they knew he was going into a drug-induced episode.

They called paramedics before he died, suggesting that they knew the issue was beyond a simple resisting arrest.

Twitter is scrubbing/concealing negative tweets of Biden and spamming the results with pro-Biden bots.

This kind of partizan behavior by the tech monopolies needs to be addressed. It’s not enough to fine them. These monopolies need to be fundamentally restructured so that this kind of bias no longer exists and that the public has true access to and ability to voice itself and be heard.

It’s rather amazing, isn’t it? The delusions we are forced to play along in?

That’s why the irony of “woke” strikes me senseless.

I’m forced to accept religion -well, we all are- myths, superstitions, stories, ceremony as sacred. As truth. Or, we are forced to accept that even if we do not believe in them, we must tolerate another’s belief in them. That they are special. Protected. Non-profits, and .org’s out in analog-land.

Now, that’s baseline stuff. That’s a starting point in civil society.

Next, one is expected to believe that all cultures and ways of life are equal, and if not equal, acceptable. Special. Unique.

Moving through the ether, the figment of imagination known as human constructs, or nominalism, or abstraction, or the non-physical world is society, or the system, and the one many of us believe exists right here: democracy.

To question this, and its legitimacy does not make you woke, it makes one conspiratorial.

These people are not woke. Not awake. They’re living in their heads, or in the interwebs.

Probably more important than who wins the presidency in 5 months is what happens if Democrats take over the Senate and keep control of the House. If they do that and take over the presidency and / or flip a state or two like Texas it’ll be Katie bar the door. Their wish list is too long to list here, but a piece in today’s Wall St. Journal opines that getting rid of the filibuster will be one of their first moves. That will allow all of the rest: a packed Supreme Court, much higher taxes including a wealth tax, “free” college and healthcare, a flood of immigrants and dreamers who will likely vote Democrat, open borders, a bailout for mismanaged states and cities, reparations for African Americans and Native Americans, repeal of the 2nd amendment, etc. In short, they’ll do everything they can to re-make the country in the image of California and New York with permanent one-party rulers who will keep blaming others for all of their failures.

    • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 12:20 pm #

There won’t be a wealth tax. That tax would affect their backers. Reparations for Native Americans would be a good thing, frankly, and maybe the Indians could then demand that all Europeans, Asians, and Africans leave their lands.

If you don’t think it’s important to get ClarenceThomas to retire so he can be replaced by a younger Conservative, you don’t believe in the scenario you outline.

      • DrTomSchmidt June 26, 2020 at 5:33 pm #

They can, if they want to. The advantage in the EC comes from the fact that a resident of Wyoming has a LOT more power than one from CA, because 3 EVs are divided amongst a very small number of people.

If the Democratic Congress increased the size of the House to 1500 members then the voters in CA and WY would have nearly the same electoral power. It would make the EC more closely match the popular vote result.

      • Linda June 29, 2020 at 12:20 pm #

The EC is in the Constitution. To remove and amendment or to add an amendment it needs to be introduced into Congress and passed by a 2/3 majority in both Houses of Congress. Or by a Convention of States. It must then be ratified by 2/3 of all state legislatures.

I would never say JHK is wrong, but I saw Obama on TV the other night. Looking smug and gloating over the violence on the streets. I could tell by his words, tone, and body language that this was always his plan. Hillary was supposed to finish it. But than Trump happened.

BTW in regards to Hillary. You would be surprised how many middle age white and black women do not like her. BTW I have noticed that the Hispanic community are staying out of the Black & White wars.

    • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 12:40 pm #

Good point about the Hispanics. They will be heard eventually though. They’re playing the long game just as the Democrats did against us. As Alan Ginsburg once said to a cop at demonstration, “We’ll get your children” – and they did just that. Perhaps a double meaning considering his proclivities.

I don’t think it matters a whit to haters of all things Trump what Biden’s political nurses feed into the teleprompter this week. You know, the thing,…that matters least here is whether the Confidence Twit in Chief can out-debate the No-malarkey Plagiarist, now more demented than Reagan in the second term. If there are to be debates, and I doubt that, then you rest assured the talking will be supplied via ear-plug. But even that is too risky because in the scramble for the next syllable, Biden might get lost trying to remember which one he forgot he skipped. It doesn’t matter. Symone Sanders will find an excuse for Joe’s no-show and Nancy with the media will keep the cities ablaze until November with the promise they put an end to the chaos that Trump created. Is that a winning strategy for the Dems ? I think so. I am on the record here saying last winter that no matter what, Trump is not getting a second term. I thought he was going to fail because people are just tired of his shenanigans. Now, he has nothing to hang his hat on. The V-shape recovery is a pie-in-the sky. The political bone in his head works reliably for 35% of the electorate, and that number will be shrinking in the weeks ahead with more Covid-19 overkill, slumping economy/derelict finance, and raging twits in the streets bent on mayhem. It’s a perfect trifecta for Dems to hold America hostage. I will be very surprised if the Land of the Woke Halfwits and the Home of the Cowed Creeps doesn’t respond by developing the Stockholm syndrome big time.

    Bait and Switch

Yes, it had run last time and now it rises again from the deep. The nightmare corpse-city of Hil’lihreyh.

I suppose that only a single mountain-top, the hideous monolith-crowned citadel whereon great Cthulhu was buried, actually emerged from the waters. When I think of the extent of all that may be brooding down there I almost wish to kill myself forthwith. Johansen and his men were awed by the cosmic majesty of this dripping Babylon of elder daemons, and must have guessed without guidance that it was nothing of this or of any sane planet.

Purple indeed. I didn’t say I don’t like Lovecraft. I have a collection of his complete works in my bookshelves, but you must admit he is overwrought. I prefer Beethoven and Wagner to Bach or Puccini.

If Hillary becomes president, there’s a good chance we will see Russian MP’s at every corner within two years. They will know when she’s about to throw nukes at Moscow, and they will take this country over. Hillary will be imprisoned and then tried in front of a military court, as will all her co-criminals.

Very funny. Interesting to see hints of voter fraud. I heard similar things here in Ireland, where I heard that there are half a million voters on the electoral register who cannot be accounted for. (I do not know if that is wholly or partly true or neither.)

What are Trump’s chances this November? I heard one man saying they are nil. But I do not follow the media so I do not have the benefit of their wisdom.

By the way, in a recent video E Michael Jones claimed that the knee-on-neck technique is from Israel. He says that the ADL were encouraging police departments around America to learn it and that officers from Minneapolis attended a training session in Chicago (in 2018?), Paul O’Neill actually linked to the video here about two weeks ago but did not mention this. I had been wondering from the beginning where it had come from and if it had become standard practice. Jones said that the Palestinians know all about ti. I cannot see why the Israelis are so keen to encourage it. (I am not being ironic.)

Clinton is an introvert woman. Not very popular in politics (eg Teresa May) although there are a few of them around. Thatcher was an exception, at least in her early years.

    • benr June 26, 2020 at 2:26 pm #

They are pushing this nonsense even in areas where it isn’t explicitly stated.

Here in Germany, the Open Society types were trying to start a trend during the height of the CoronaHoax. They wanted parents of children to put a rainbow in the window.

They claimed the rainbow was to signify that a child was in that home and that it would help give a feeling of solidarity to other parents and children in lockdown mode.

The choice was no conicidence IMO. We were in Antwerp before the crisis started, and the whole fucking city is decked out in rainbows and diversity signage as though one was attending a pride event.

            – ‘Sexts’ typed out by children has risen in the UK by 183 per cent in lockdown

            – There has also been a 55 per cent rise in sexting during normal school hours

My financial advisor at Wells Fargo called yesterday. He’s 45 years old. Said he had had the virus in late March but it wasn’t that bad. Had mild temp increase, aches and pains which went away in fairly short order but left him with a horrendous cough for 2 weeks.

For his extended family the news was much worse: 3 Covid deaths. Two were oldsters and one was a 59 year old uncle with pre-existing diabetes.

STATUES are being torn down all around. Next to be torn down? STATUTES. Like this one, for example: 22nd Amendment – No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.
Time to tear that one down, maybe? Working behind the scenes, maybe? Run for your third term, maybe, after a seemingly broken and brokered convention without consensus cries out for healing amidst a national time of crisis…and THEN in comes…

The Bill of Rights | Constitutional Amendments are not “statutes”, and are extremely hard to adopt or rescind, including approval by 37 states.

I believe it says 2 consecutive terms. Edwin Edwards did it in Louisiana to win 2 8 year terms sandwiched around a 4 year absence.

      • Kakadu Man June 26, 2020 at 7:00 pm #

No – two terms is the limit at the presidential level:

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.

I think a good sign or portent of the luciferian, power hungry sociopath known as Hillary Rodham Clinton, is to see how often she reappears on ABC’s morning show, the Ellen show, the View, etc.

if later this summer, Hillary starts to appear suddenly on all of these shows, spewing her usual lies & manipulations– then she just might be the VP.

I don’t know. I’ve been saying this for a long time on CFN. You can’t keep a power hungry sociopath down for long. So, we’ll see.

    God, I hope I’m wrong.

They are also desperate to harm those who injured their frail egos. Which is why she can’t let it go. She is a full-on narcissist.

I will never forget how she claimed Trump would never concede or accept a loss. And, ofc, that is exactly what she did, even sending Skippy Podesta out to announce she was not speaking.

And when she finally did appear, she was dressed in her Purple Revolution garb to launch the McResistance — refusing to support the peaceful transfer of power that has been a hallmark of this country since its inception.

      a power hungry sociopath

Come on … Hillary Clinton wanted to be president, sure, but in addition to that she’s had a pretty spectacular career and life – and is just a mainstream Democrat, no radical.

For true power-hungry sociopaths, look at Moscow Mitch, other senators, and the Trump regime.

      • PeteAtomic June 26, 2020 at 7:25 pm #

think about and consider for a moment, all of these separate personality traits of an individual:

what hurdles in your own mind, or what motivations do you need to do to overcome, to let’s say, stay married to a spouse that had his dick sucked in the bathroom of the Oval Office, or take dozens of flights with Jeff Epstein, some to his private island– or be linked to years of a myriad of affairs or trysts with other people. What level of commitment do you need to engage in that relationship? Put that aside for a moment…

now think about an individual who is willing to do the extraordinary to wheel and deal and to get their hands on the levers of power & influence, say a small example like moving to another state simply to assume (or secure) power as the appointed US Senator– or say a big example, like running the Clinton Foundation. An organization which took millions of bribes from foreign governments which directly enriched Bill & Hillary & directly impacted Hillary’s decisions while in positions of authority. Money they could use for a political campaign, for whatever.. a pet project, whatever. What kind of hurdles in your own mind would allow you to engage in that level of corruption?
Put that aside for a moment..

What would have to change in your mind on so many policy issues, for so many years? Do you think political expediency is at play? Or do you think, apart from the political nature of your marriage (and private life), and the political & corrupt nature of your private foundation, that you decide to stand on policy on principle? I don’t believe so.

So, if it walks like a duck & sounds like a duck…

and hey look– a big problem with politics in the US is that it attracts some really fucking awful people, so. She’s not the only power hungry sociopath out there! lol

    1) notice how the Star Trib has already manipulated the reader into believing that its “highly unusual” that the 4 cops want the public court hearings to be recorded..

    2) It also informs me that there is much more to the arrest that these four officers want everyone to understand, then what has been seen.

    3) the plot thickens…

Pete I see the Minneapolis City Council voted 12-0 to disband the PD, replace it with some touchy-feely, wholistic, restorative peace collective This in the midst of about 20 people shot in the past 2 weeks, and 700 businesses and govt offices destroyed during the riots.

The city council … are they serious politicians and adminstrators, or poseurs, ideologues with their heads up their asses? What are they, exactly?

I used to think of Minnesota as a state populated by people of Scandanavian and German stock. What the hell happened?

      • Kakadu Man June 26, 2020 at 6:22 pm #

Settle down … no need to resort to white victimhood quite yet. The Black population in Minnesota is 336,505 – or just 6.1% of the total state population.

Northern states and cities have significant Black populations because few smart people want to live in the shit-eating South. Have you ever walked around New Orleans? There’s hardly a sidewalk in the whole place that’s fit for human perambulation.

        • Sredni Vashtar June 26, 2020 at 6:28 pm #

You didn’t give the Black population of the City – which is what he asked about. Noted.

Are you saying Blacks create shitholes? If so, we are in agreement at last.

          • PeteAtomic June 26, 2020 at 6:42 pm #

nobody really knows how many blacks there are in the Twin Cities there, Vlad.

George Floyd’s story of how he ended up in Minneapolis is actually very common here. Floyd is a guy from Texas who, after getting out of prison, moved to Minneapolis to become…. what? a bouncer at a bar? Who knows. He didn’t have any family in the area, ostensibly.

So, who knows. I’ve met a black fellas with very similar stories here as Floyd’s. They drift in and out of the state, generally.

          • Kakadu Man June 26, 2020 at 7:52 pm #

You didn’t give the Black population of the City – which is what he asked about. Noted.

        • PeteAtomic June 26, 2020 at 6:33 pm #

Minnesota is and always will be a frontier area. It’s a pretty transient state. The black population is very transient here as well. Maybe one year there will be 4% black, the next 7%, the next 3%.

You need to remember that the winter here is a real force. Two years ago I was working outside on my vehicles and the standing air temp was -50 F.

not many people, regardless of color, are tough enough to deal with that.

There are Arabs living near the Arctic Circle in Canada. What does it matter if they have heat and someone else pays for it? Lots of Somalis in cold Minnesota. Caucasian Muslims in cold Dearborn, Michigan.

I’m suppressed you are worried about them. I figure you’d figure they would just burn white people too keep warm if they have to. There should be enough white people to keep them warm while the earth warms to make the arctic home.

Far from the Nile. Camels in Antarctica. Through the long dark night the caravans saunter on. Sacks of seeds and spice from the Falkland Islands destined for sleepy towns far from the sea. Where sand gives way to mountain and the long endless summer soon to rise grows next years food.

Easy and slow in the cool of the long night the silent travelers flow.

I understand loving the area and people where you live, and your pride in dealing with harsh weather. As for me, I’ll stick with the Sweet Sunny South. With summer temperatures at high nineties, low 100’s, and the extreme humidity, the heat index can approach 110 or 120. I’ve worked hard in that heat all my life. Not many people are tough enough to deal with that. In either of our respective climates, the words tough and stupid could be interchangeable considering your point of view.

        • RocketDoc June 27, 2020 at 7:03 pm #

If memory serves, the black population in MN in 1977 was 2%. At a think tank in DC we created a quality of life indicator that showed MN was better than MS. My boss suggested the reason was better government policies. Being from AL, I thought it might be demographics but I did not dispute that “policy” played a role…..
Dumping on Southerners is permitted prejudice. I am sure wherever you live is Paradise….

          • K-Dog June 27, 2020 at 8:42 pm #

Where it gets cold enough to kill you half the year people get along better. I believe that is true. People in the south risk anger more.

I grew up in that 2%. Racism to some Minnesotans is like covid and they are without natural resistance. To others forged in fires of Lutheran reminders of burning hell, race issues are seen to be an alien affliction and an affliction to which they are fully inoculated.

I’m not of the Lutheran stock directly but as I’m able to explain the distinction to you figuring out what kind of Minnesotan I was when I moved to Seattle is not hard to figure out.

“I used to think of Minnesota as a state populated by people of Scandanavian and German stock. What the hell happened?”

Alot, BRH! lol, obviously.. Minnesota is a very complicated state. There were various French, British & US imperial interests in the area early on. French trading companies were active here, and I hike the same routes they took regularly. Minnesota (or large parts of) could have easily become British American at different times in history, particularly in the earlier part of the 19th Century. For example, one of the proposed boundaries between the US and British America was the St.Louis River, which flows just south of where I live now. There are large and influential tribal governments & lands in the northern part of Minnesota (where I grew up). Only tribes may operate casinos in Minnesota.

Minnesota is extremely rich in minerals, lumber, agricultural products like soybeans & corn, and has phenomenal fresh water resources (which is becoming more important). Water flows to Lake Superior, the Gulf of Mexico, or the Hudson Bay. Minnesota has healthy & abundant wildlife, including the largest Grey Wolf population in the lower 48.

Over 2/3 of the population of the population of the entire state live in 7 counties more or less– some say more, some say less (out of 87 counties), that comprise most of the Mpls/St.Paul metro area. Minnesota has these tightly populated, very concentrated populations in a limited amount of counties– and then the majority of counties being small towns & small cities (like mine here in Duluth)– or very rural, with few towns at all.

Demographics change, and they have in Minnesota to a degree– at least most acute in the Twin Cities. Minneapolis is a part of the urbanized, generally left wing or liberal demographic in the US. You could pick up a person living in one of the neighborhoods in Minneapolis and transport them to Seattle, or San Fran, or (name a city) and they wouldn’t miss a beat. There are many people in Minneapolis who know very little of life in Minnesota outside the Twin Cities. I’ve personally met people who know zero state geography outside Minneapolis. They couldn’t have told you a sentence of what I’ve just wrote in the last couple paragraphs there. Maybe they are there because one of their parents moved for a job in some corporate HQ that’s based in Minneapolis, or Lutheran social services moved their family in from some corner of the planet, or perhaps their grandparents did live in a town like Alexandria, or Moorhead, or Winona, or International Falls, Minnesota– at one time, but they have no connection anymore.

Minnesota has a very complicated political history. For example, the democrat party here is actually a separate political party. Its the DFL, or Democrat Farmer Labor Party. For a time the republicans were known as the IR, or Independent Republicans. Jesse Ventura helped create the Independent Party. Of course, the DFL is neither farmer or labor much anymore– but that’s a separate topic.

Much of the state actually is up for grabs. In 2016, HRC won Minnesota very narrowly, by only 1.5% of the vote. Much of Minnesota outside the Twin Cities now votes republican.

        • Kakadu Man June 26, 2020 at 8:17 pm #

Minnesota is a very complicated state.

why would Floyd move from a zero state income tax state like Texas, to a state with the 4th highest in the US at 9.85% ??

        why would anybody do that..

hmm.. they will never have to pay (or plan to pay) that 9.85% ??

        food for thought

        Minneapolis, MN

        Year Percent White
        1940 99%
        1950 98%
        1960 97%
        1970 94%
        1980 87%
        1990 78%
        2000 63%
        2010 60%

Minneapolis used to be a peaceful, educated, orderly, productive, place with plenty of scandinavians, and its main problem that it was a bit too deep into the boring side. Now the city is burning and rioting and it’s on its way to become another Baltimore.

If you found a man in the street just having been hit by a car. Would you not treat him if he was full of drugs? Or if you smelled alcohol on him? No, he’s hurt and needs help. Ditto George Floyd.

        • PeteAtomic June 26, 2020 at 6:53 pm #

If I were living in an urban area with no effective police force, i.e.no security, similar to that of Sarajevo in the 90s, and there was a stranger lying dead (?) on the street– I would get the hell out of there– because he may have been a victim of a sniper. Who would know?

        • Kim June 26, 2020 at 10:52 pm #

If I saw him hit by the car, and there were no blacks around who might blame me for it or assault or rob me while I was trying to help him, then I would try to help him.

If he were just lying there and I did not see the presumed contact, I would be very careful indeed because it might be a trap of some kind. I would call 911 but not approach and I would keep my eyes out on stalks.

911 is for the ambulance, no? I am assuming there is some apparent injury. I have not got to the stage of performing CPR or tearing up my shirt to make a splint.

          • elysianfield June 27, 2020 at 10:07 am #

To assume that, without police, other emergency services would be up and running is…optimistic.

A few cities still employ the police to provide ambulance service. Ask St Elmo if they ever required police protection during a fire call out….

          • Kim June 27, 2020 at 9:04 pm #

It can be dangerous to help blacks. Notwithstanding that we may not talk about it, their affinity for unprovoked violence is well known.

“Originally, the officer pulled up to a car accident right after it occurred. The officer approached one of the cars and was suddenly stabbed by the driver — a woman. The officer was stabbed in the shoulder area.

He immediately pulled back to separate himself from the woman and her weapon.

As the officer retreated, the woman began stabbing the other car driver multiple times.”

I live in California and in my state there are a ton of Trump supporters who were not at first, in fact some of them really did not like the man.
The last several years have opened a bunch of eyes to the reality that Democrat party rule only brings more Detroit, Chicago, and Los Angeles decay. It is starting to happen here in fair sunny San Diego the decay of Democrat enclaves and sanctuary cities.
Which is why they are using this corona virus to enact mail in ballots for all so they can cheat and steal the election.

Does cheating to win and defeating Trump mean so much you are willing to destroy our Republic?

LB – Yes, George and his cohorts made no effort whatsoever to prevent the looting of the Museum of Iraq. Never mind Saddam (seriously, let’s not mind Saddam), think artefacts thousands of years old and never recovered – now languishing in the private collections of the super-rich.

And Rumsfeld the Respecter of History: ‘Stuff happens’.

I guess, for these people, when it’s in one’s own very young country it’s ‘history’, and when it’s in the cradle of civilisation, it’s just ‘stuff’.

This is how I see Mr. Kunstler:

He sees what you see, but he has a vocabulary.
A preternatural ability to get to he root of the matter.

Why I’ve been reading him for years.

I was driving, can’t remember where, but it was everywhere, and that’s what struck me. The more I traveled the more I noticed and the more it tormented me. Am I only the one? When I spoke, in polite company about our built landscape, I received looks, the kind that tell you they’re 1/2 following, but deep inside they feel you’re missing the point, or you’re making much ado of the trivial. We don’t live there after all.
    They do.
    But it infects.
    And is everywhere.
When I read him, and watched him. Wow.
    I’m not alone.

    This is crazy.
    And someone sees through it

    The augur

LOL … well if my “opine” (haha) doesn’t matter, you sure spend a great f time and energy responding, and getting very steamed up about it too.

I don’t expect to change any minds – after all we’re dealing with the way-out fringe right here – even Trump has been able to mainstream the extreme views so often expressed week in and week out.

But it’s a free country (still), and there are no immigration requirements for participating on the Internet, so I enjoy putting up a counter view, and occasionally making the lunar right try and justify their position.

BTW – calling everybody to the left of you a “Marxist” or a “Commie” might have had some effect in the 1950s and 1960s, but really comrade, they have lost all their punch – they’re just marshmallow these days – nobody cares.

And I’m quite proud of being on the correct side of history – caring about the working class, minorities, the environment, and much else. It’s a comfortable place to be.

            Have a nice day 🙂

Please do tell what is extreme in any of Trumps views?

Where did you get so brainwashed that you believe putting your own country and people first is wrong?
Stopping illegal immigration and the flow of human trafficking and drugs is wrong?
Tell me do you like girls being shipped in to work as sex slaves or be abused along the way? Guess what most women smuggled into America get raped and abused along the way.

Who told you the reality you think you know about the United States? CNN, MSNBC, NPR?

What makes you “think” you are being told reality much less anything resembling the truth especially about Trump?

You don’t live here or see the truth for yourself all you see is a carefully scripted and crafted version of what the above news agencies want you to see. So since it aligns with what you believe to be true you don’t even question the narrative being splattered out.

Twitter and Facebook actually censor the truth so you are not getting anything from there either.

This blog Jim has put up maybe the only place you see something of the truth being exposed by a man that cares more about the truth than he does about his personal distaste for Donald Trump.

Do you read his blog or do you just come here to troll as I suspect and you all but admitted above?

Do you believe Jim is to dumb and he has been hoodwinked by Trump the evil tangerine tornado?

How many other versions of yourself have been banned?

I refer to all endeavors that we, humans have that we find terrifically entertaining but virtually pointless as “video games”.

I’m envious that you have everything in such a state of readiness that you have time to play video games.

If I could offer a small twist to your game thread that you might consider for incorporation, it would be that all the scenarios that you perceive are products of computer simulation runs and have been implemented automatically by the simulator/switch controller [AI] not in building 7.

Well, I’m off to the salt mines. I never imagined that the ending the world would ever include being experienced as, among many other things, intermittently, frog-boiling slow, sad, and fun.

Joe Biden is definitely a big hoax. The UN wants global government with fangs. They said so yesterday. Uncle Joe says he will make you wear a face mask if he is President (hint hint medical sharia). The UN also said the world can’t go back to the way it was before corona. So let’s see here. The lockdowns consolidated power for the ruling class by wiping out the constitution, a huge chunk of small businesses, and the ability of the ruled to gather, among many other things. Then the riots and unrest have further consolidated power for the elites since they totally control the destructive weapon known simply as cancel, as well as the mob itself who can be violently triggered by any artifact of western civilization at a moments notice. And Joe sure does seem to approve of the lockdowns and the mobs. Does he or his handlers approve of a real global government?

The ability of the ruled to gather?

You should have visited Bournemouth last weekend.

“the mob itself who can be violently triggered by any artifact of western civilization…”

      Yeah, like a waste bin.

The only thing that ‘triggered’ this lot was the notion that they might clean up after themselves rather than leaving their crap for the townspeople to clear once they’d gone home. Apparently it’s easy to transport something while full, but hard to transport it home again when it’s empty, if tens of thousands of you and your invading, sun-seeking cohort overwhelm the local waste bins. Physics turned on its head. And we can assume, since they came from up to two hours’ drive away, that they came in cars, complete with that storage-space thingy cars have.

The head of the local council said they used local parks as a toilet while there were actual toilets there beside them (probably involved the horror of queuing). And the council workers emptying the overflowing bins had to have police with them to protect them from an abusive crowd.

Wiping out the ability of the ruled to gather? Hahaha…

*Apologies to pigs, which tend to clean up after themselves.

‘Keep your effete European manners, this is ENGLAND, where we dump our crap where we please’.

      • GreenAlba June 27, 2020 at 8:03 am #

Just noticed I deleted the paragraph with the first reference to pigs, hence the hanging asterisk. But yes, piggy manners from the ‘ruled’ who are apparently unable to ‘gather’, bless their pointed little heads.

        • SoftStarLight June 27, 2020 at 2:49 pm #

Yes, especially miniature pigs are so adorable. I actually wished you had taken a brexit survey amongst the beachgoers. Since the remain votes were just like two points behind the leave votes I simply can’t help but imagine many of the beach goers were ideologically left wing. Funny you didn’t link to pics of their destruction in London. But either way I don’t condone nastiness so what are you saying? Yes, a society that believes in personal responsibility and accountability is noble. But impossible when rioting and looting are considered totally cool. Nobody is gonna think about trash on the beach.

          • GreenAlba June 27, 2020 at 5:12 pm #

Just saying ‘the ruled’ don’t seem to be being confined if they don’t want to be was all. They seem to be ‘gathering’ if that’s their choice. Destruction in London is the same as destruction in cities in the US (and related to the demonstrations, rather than people simply insistent on doing their own thing without any political motivation) so wasn’t in my mind.

The little rant about the mess was just an add-on, since it annoyed me! I can’t get my head round people thinking it’s OK to do their thing and leave all their rubbish behind, as if having to take it home with them was some kind of outrage. So entirely lateral to the main point…

And yes, piglets are adorable. And pigs quite clever too, allegedly.

I think this site attracts a handfull of these loons as it has traditionally foucused on sustainability (a good thing), but modern progs are not particularly good thinkers, and tend to emotionally react either positively or negatively based on whatever information they are confronted with first.

There is very little (if any) middle ground with people like this. TBH though, even finding middle ground requires the more intelligent party to accept that their interlocutor is absolutely nuts on some level.

I wonder what Joe Biden’s wife is like? She must be a mess, like Michelle or Hillary?

Eleanor Roosevelt acquired meaning and purpose in her Life as a nurse to FDR only after FDR was stricken with polio. Do you remember the movie “Misery” starring Kathy Bates?

FDR seems to have contracted Polio in the early 1920’s by swimming in a freshwater lake in Maine. There was probably contaminated feces in the water? Do you remember Alex Jones’ rant about people urinating in the public pool. You see a lot of these fat kids hanging out in the public pool for hours without leaving the pool to use the restroom. This Covid 19 virus may have put us back to a 1920’s health predicament. The era of antibiotics and vaccines may not be the “Norm”?

The chickens were eating one of their own eggs this morning in the chicken coop. I wonder how that works? In America, the Old eat their young too. And the Rich eat the working class. The problem is that we need the eggs because if you run out of eggs, then….

I had an actual egg business as a preteen sixty hens and two roosters.
Made a tone of money till the next door neighbors dog got in the coop and murdered all but three of my hens and one of the roosters in one day.

In Bridgeport, Ct, so many Community Members shot in the past few weeks the Mayor has requested State Troopers be brought in to help quell the violence.

Note: Bridgeport is NOT a city that is disbanding the PD. The mayor is a hard nosed Italian who spent 9 years in Federal Prison, convicted for corruption as mayor in the 90s, reelected after he served his prison term.

These most likely are the same troopers who accompanied mobs of ‘protesters’ when protesters walked up onto Interstate US 95 and US 8, major roads leading into NYC, stopping traffic for miles and miles, taking a knee with some of the distinguished citizens while other distinguished citizens circulated thru lines of stopped cars kicking in doors and punching stranded motorists. In all fairness troopers were under orders not to interfere … so the governor could announce that the protests were ‘nonviolent’. So who knows how effective this addition of manpower will be in Bridgeport? Shooting season has only just begun, the PD is demoralized, and a long bloody summer looms ahead of us.

    Leadership (noun)
    1. The office or position of a leader
    2. Capacity to lead
    3. The act or instance of leading

    Capacity to lead?

    Current administration sans leadership.
Next administration (take your pick) sans leadership.
I’d support a fucking talking chicken, (not necessarily in that order) if I thought they could lead us out of the “Long Emergency”.

THEY are so desperate to hold it together. Market drops in the morning so THEY send out Kudlow and Mnuchin in the afternoon to talk up the markets, again. Pathetic. 40 million unemployed. 40 million not counted. A good round guess is there are around 100 million without a job.

    To the assembled readership;

Currently, I am reading Middlebrook’s “First Day On The Somme”. It is, in part, a compilation of first person accounts of the meat grinder that was the First Battle of the Somme.

One Protagonist, serially quoted was one Lt. Col. Reginal Bastard, who was commanding the 2nd Lincolns*. One would suppose that his battalion commander was none other than Colonel Chauncey Sonofabitch, being overall commanded by General Fuckyouandthe horseyourodeinon.**

@Kdog : Concerning the Pikeplan you helped me with last week, did you get to read the hoax coverage from the link ?

“Leo Taxil took credit in 1896 for the Pike letter, claiming that it was one of a series of hoaxes that he had perpetrated on the public throughout the 1880’s. His claims might be credible at the time, since no world wars had yet taken place to prove the authenticity of the plan. But in the decades that followed, the plan was fulfilled to the letter. Was Taxil secretly a great prophet whose prophecies were fulfilled long after his death in 1907?

He was obviously not a gifted prophet. If we suppose that it was a hoax, we would be compelled to believe that someone took the plan seriously, implemented it, and changed the world forever.

The letter has been criticized for using terms like Nazism, Fascism, and Political Zionism before those terms were even invented (or known publicly). But how, then, could Leo Taxil write about such movements ahead of time? Did Taxil himself invent those terms? Even if we were to accept the view that these terms were invented by Cardinal Rodriguez as late as 1925, as some say, it might explain the plan for World War 1 but not World War 2 and beyond.

It is more credible to believe that these terms were used privately for many years while the political movements were yet developing. The general public was unfamiliar with the terms until the political movements were openly established and advertised.

Cardinal Rodriguez certainly was concerned about the Pike Plan, having written about it in 1925. His views obviously contradicted the official Church policy, which was soon to make an agreement first with Mussolini (Lateran Treaty in 1929) and later with Hitler.

Pope Pius XI made a treaty with Mussolini that established Vatican City as a City State. Mussolini paid the Vatican $90 million to compensate the Church for its loss of the Papal States in 1870. The investments from the “donation of Mussolini” had increased to $2 billion by 1939. The money was used to create the Institute for Religious Agencies (the Vatican Bank) on June 27, 1942. The Vatican then began to engage in the regular practice of usury. Usury was quietly dropped from its list of sins.”

I took a look at it yes. The vanity of men is of great interest to me as it seals our doom. I imagine myself human sometimes.

Was Leo Taxi a mere factotum of the underground remnants of the Nights Templar? I don’t know. The thing is it won’t mater. Soon we will be gone like the vampire in the Ray Bradbury story from the last graveyard. Shot into into the purifying hot plasma of an incinerator becoming a puff of smoke and then nothing more and all the magic dragons are gone.

Lucifer overplayed his hand and the extinction of the human race is nigh. When people go Lucifer is gone. Without anyone to give him existence he perishes along with us. Like the vampire in ‘Dandelion Wine’. Without anyone to believe in him he could no longer live.

It might be a different story collection, This is from memory.

      Stupid Angel!

The vanity of men. The world turns all by itself but we imagine we turn a crank.

Do as Socrates did, never replying to the question of where he was from with, ‘I am Athenian,’ or ‘I am from Corinth,’ but always, ‘I am a citizen of the world.

And at the privacy of your keyboard when applying for a job what is the moral choice. Check the box for white or check the box for other.

Occam’s razor says go one way, the easy choice but at the price of one’s soul it is a fools bargain. Don’t overthink, you won’t get the job anyway.

If the intellectual is common to all people, so is reason, in respect of which we are rational beings: if this is so, common also is the reason that commands us what to do, and what not to do; if this is so, there is a common law also; if this is so, we are fellow-citizens; if this is so, we are members of a political community.

          So Tartar sauce.

          • Sredni Vashtar June 27, 2020 at 2:06 pm #

In other words, we should shoot them if we have to since they are breaking common law – which is the Law of the Land once the Government breaks down into lawlessness?

I don’t remember that, but I’m not an expert. I do know that Socrates was a proud citizen of Athens, and that he fought for his city on the battlefield. And he served the People with him mind the rest of the time. When sentenced to death by the city authorities, he had a chance to escape but didn’t take it saying, This is my city and if it wants me dead, I happily comply despite my innocence. Sounds like a hell of a lot of loyalty here, eh?

          • SoftStarLight June 27, 2020 at 3:29 pm #

Wow that is very loyal and dedicated. Though I wouldn’t blame him or think any less of him if he had left the city when given the opportunity. After all, it kinda sounds like Athens didn’t deserve him and he could have taught appreciative people elsewhere.

          • Sredni Vashtar June 27, 2020 at 3:37 pm #

Yeah, read the “Apology” (the meaning has changed – apology used mean Defense) sometime. A remarkable mind and a remarkable man. Some revere him almost as a lesser Christ.

          • SoftStarLight June 27, 2020 at 3:54 pm #

Ok. I just found it and dowloaded it!

          • Sredni Vashtar June 27, 2020 at 4:16 pm #

His actual death and the way he met it is described in the dialogue called, “The Phaedo”. Scholars believe that these these two are pure Socrates with Plato faithfully recording it as he remembered it. The later dialogues become more and more Plato himself, though he still uses Socrates’ name. Humility? Or trying to bolster his own school? Or did Socrates really give out advanced philosophical doctrines and not just ethics via his questions, the so called “Socratic method”?

          • Sredni Vashtar June 27, 2020 at 4:21 pm #

Well I doubt he would mind either if a younger man, especially one with depends, did either. But he was an old man by then, his children grown, and I guess he didn’t see the point of starting again. His whole life had been Athens so her preferred to meet his end there too.

But he might well have considered himself a citizen of the world in another sense. There is no contradiction, rightly understood. Truth is truth. And the Platonics admitted some foreign barbarians cared for it while many Greeks did not. They particularly respected the Egyptians. And they admitted that they had gotten things from the Levant as well, such as writing. This is significant because they were very, very proud to be Greek – and very attached to their particular City. In contrast, our “internationalists” loathe their Nation and often don’t care about their cities in any real way either

          • SoftStarLight June 27, 2020 at 9:49 pm #

I can see why you said that some revere Socrates as a lesser Christ. He certainly takes the higher road and indeed faces his accusers without fear. He appears to be rather ambivalent about his impending death too. Because of his age as he does say but also because he said that one should not calculate whether they may live or die by taking a course of action, but rather whether that action/decision is right or wrong. So doing right may lead to death but do right anyway. I also find it really interesting that he appears to refer to some of the Greek gods as sons of God. He also refers often to God or more typically the god whom he serves, which seems to imply maybe a bit of monotheism? But then too I got the sense that more than a deity his concept of God was like that of ultimate truth rather than a “person” or personality.

          • Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 4:41 am #

Oh yes. I’m afraid the Bible does a hatchet job on the Pagans. They were often far more sophisticated (and holy) than the Bible would have you believe. They could be corrupt and idolaters – just as monotheists can be. For example: almost no one worships wood or stone. Nor the forms these are made into. These forms are symbols of different aspects of the One God. Not all pagans understood this – but the best ones did.

Sun worshipers? Ok, sometimes. And the Indian ones in Central America were horrible human sacrificers. But for many, the Sun is the closest thing we can see in the physical world to God. How better to worship than by this incredible Sign?

The early Zeus was the lecherous Chief of the God who had killed his own Father in order to take control. But look what he became in centuries later in the minds of the learned Stoics:

Most glorious of the Immortals, many named, Almighty forever.

Zeus, ruler of nature, that governest all things with law,

Hail! for lawful it is that all mortals should address Thee.

For we are Thy offspring, taking the image only of Thy voice,2 as many mortal things as live and move upon the earth.

Therefore will I hymn Thee, and sing Thy might forever.

For Thee doth all this universe that circles round the earth obey, moving whithersoever Thou leadest, and is gladly swayed by Thee.

Such a minister hast Thou in Thine invincible hands; — the two-edged, blazing, imperishable thunderbolt.

For under its stroke all Nature shuddereth, and by it Thou guidest aright the Universal Reason, that roams through all things, mingling itself with the greater and the lesser lights, till it have grown so great, and become supreme king over all.

Nor is aught done on the earth without Thee, O God, nor in the divine sphere of the heavens, nor in the sea,

Save the works that evil men do in their folly —

Yea, but Thou knowest even to find a place for superfluous things, and to order that which is disorderly, and things not dear to men are dear to Thee.

Thus dost Thou harmonize into One all good and evil things, that there should be one everlasting Reason of them all.

And this the evil among mortal men avoid and heed not; wretched, ever desiring to possess the good, yet they nor see nor hear the universal Law of God, which obeying with all their heart, their life would be well.

But they rush graceless each to his own aim,

Some cherishing lust for fame, the nurse of evil strife,

            Some bent on monstrous gain,

Some turned to folly and the sweet works of the flesh,

Hastening, indeed, to bring the very contrary of these things to pass.

But thou, O Zeus, the All-giver, Dweller in the darkness of cloud, Lord of thunder, save Thou men from their unhappy folly,

            Which do Thou, O Father, scatter from their souls; and give them to discover the wisdom, in whose assurance Thou governest all things with justice;

So that being honored, they may pay Thee honor,

Hymning Thy works continually, as it beseems a mortal man.

Since there can be no greater glory for men or Gods than this.

Duly to praise forever the Universal Law.

SV: From a Christian pov, the Graeco-Romans were certainly ready for something better than the old gods and their silly stories. Even five hundred years earlier, Plato had wanted to rewrite the whole thing. No simple believer, he! So Stoicism had come to the fore. And then Christ came and gave something even more powerful.

Kakadoodoo is just mad that anyone colors ouside [sic] the lines. He wants everyone to color like he does and he throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way. Plus his diaper needs changing bad and he has a severe rash.

This is why you (and many of your cohort) are so execrable … never-ending, childish, egregious name-calling and bad ad hominem. No substance, no dealing with debates and issues, no understanding that the bubble they operate in is extreme, fringe, and not where the vast majority of Americans sit.

You only get a voice here because JHK is a very liberal host-moderator … all the white supremacist and Q-anon nut-fudge hate stuff isn’t tolerated most places. America is a complete and utter mess – despite its huge natural resources and human resources – because of right-wing craziness, not because of the left.

And speaking of “the left”, I am a very mild and fairly conservative centre-left person, notwithstanding the shrill and childish “commie” name-calling from some on here.

I think the very best things for a decent life chance are good parents, good schooling, an appreciation of ethics and what is morally good, a love of quality, hard work, sober habits, saving money, and never relying on welfare.

But these are just motherhood statements on their own – they descend into meaningless salad while a ruthless American elite, in partnership with a puppet Republican Party, most of the judiciary, military, and civil service, organise the political and economic world to suit themselves.

I can’t condone or support violence and the wanton destruction of property, but I sure can understand it. I think a lot of the protesters are just sick and tired of being robbed … of everything.

And there would bee no need to attack statues and monuments if ridiculous decisions weren’t made at the city, county, state, or federal level. Every single Confederate memorial, bust, or statue should be removed from every public park or building – they are a total and disgraceful affront … not just to Black people, but every thin king person.

    • K-Dog June 27, 2020 at 7:48 pm #

Q-anon nut-fudge hate stuff isn’t tolerated most places.

Sort of, but if Q-anon wants to on a website they may have powers of persuasion like a few trolls here do. Government persuasions.

Several months ago before life became eclipsed with COVID and I had a job I was ‘targeted’ by a Q-anon operative on the way to work. I was given a card with two websites to check out. A smorgasbord of conspiratorial diversions they turned out to be.

I have my own website so how complicated was this thing I asked myself? Very complicated and obviously the work of multiple people and certainly not the work of a few wing nuts loose on the hub. I’d probably not have noticed that but since I have the skills to do something like it myself I noticed. Perhaps I should repeat the relevant part. obviously the work of multiple people That part. The part that showed that organized people with competing conspiracies able to put aside their differences are behind it all. People who are not crazy in other words. A conclusion which only leaves the usual suspects.

I have never met a rich tin foil hatter ‘on the street’ either. Certainly not one with a Stingray device that would have been used to intercept my path that day. That is something else a newbie would likely not notice. The I’ll be dammed fancy meeting you here back slapping coincidence. What are the chances of meeting you here is not generally noticed unless it is obvious. Rich nutters have their own haunts and don’t hang where they can be harassed by the police.

Q-anon is Government. A way to identify those easily distracted by shiny objects and a way to divert dissent into harmless masturbations. But don’t try and figure the rhyme and reason of it because the most important thing is that somebody is getting paid. That answers a lot of inconvenient and strange questions.

Do not spill your seed on the ground believing useless nonsense. That is what ‘they>’ want from you. Conserve your vital fluids and put your efforts into authentic revolutionary preparedness for the times ahead. It will be the wiser investment.

Because the five-eyes is behind the whole thing and that means foreigners. Canadians and Australians and also New Zealanders and Brits. Surveillance is international among the five eyes and it is a way to skirt restrictions on surveying your own citizens. Particularly Americans. Not that it matters much since oversight is impossible. Surveillance is one of the many atrophies of modernity. One of the nails in the modern coffin.

      Good point, JAZ

Compare a gentleman like RE Lee with the human scum defacing his monument with cans of spray paint.

Lee’s biographer Douglas Southall Freeman would salute
Lee’s monument every morning in Richmond as he walked to his office while working on his 3 volume ‘Lee’s Lieutenants’.

This generation of nihilistic street trash attacking monuments over matters settled 155 years ago remind me of Jihadi fanatics destroying ancient monuments in Timbuktu, Mali, a few years back. Hopefully these statues will be restored and preserved for future generations 50, 100, 500 years from now. This current rabble will not have the final say.

But isn’t that the whole point? America failed to expunge the Confederate pro-slave history and the sedition, and the South has spent a century and a half glorifying it and its leaders.

The Union failed to properly prosecute the traitors of the Confederate Army and the political elite of the Confederacy, then there was Reconstruction, decades of Jim Crow, persecution of freed slaves and their descendants, and on and on it goes.

Even the Civil Rights Act hasn’t expunged it. Surely the destruction of pro-slavery memorials is totally understandable.

I’m not sure how much truth is in all of it. I had to try to research it last night to see what was happening. There was one guy on youtube called “Brain Scratch” who covers crimes and disappearances. He went thru the Podesta emails. I labored thru that one. I don’t know if there is much there.

I do gotta say though, Podesta & Alefantis are definitely odd people. There is no doubt about that. Some of the choices that Alefantis made about decorating his business are weird to say the least. Podesta’s art at his house is bizarre. I have to agree with that. I saw the video with the strange guy with the wig on at the party inside the pizza place. I don’t know.

Would it shock me to find out that Podesta is in some pedo ring? no, absolutely. Nothing shocks me much anymore. You have to remember who HRC is married to. Are there any connections between Podesta and Jeff Epstein? I don’t know. I don’t know if anybody has looked into that.

  74. Q. Shtik June 27, 2020 at 9:35 pm #

Concerning the existence, or not, of God or Gods:

I throw plural God(s) into the title because there are, or have been, people (the Greeks? Romans? Hindus?) muddying up the waters with their multiple deities. Declaring through their literature that they not only exist but interact in real time with humans, even having coitus (hat tip to Sheldon Cooper) and producing offspring… sort of human/spirit mulattos. But I’m going to set aside multiple Gods to simplify the discussion.

Each day after breakfast I repair to my office/man-cave and activate my computer which I never turn off. It’s in screen saver mode. I click on the Chrome icon and a Bing screen appears with the photo of the day, usually a gorgeous nature scene. Awhile ago the pic was a shot of a canyon somewhere in the US west (but not the Grand Canyon) taken in the evening. Toward the bottom there is the space between two imposing gray shear canyon walls filled with water and above and between the walls one of the most impressive star filled night skies I’ve ever seen. This got me to thinking about time, space and the alleged God who created it all. Time, for now, will remain a subject for another day.

BTW, the stars were all in our Milky Way Galaxy as seen with the naked eye which may have included another galaxy (Andromeda). I gather there are a few smaller and closer galaxies but they can’t be seen with the unassisted eye.

I Googled that scientists believe there are at least 100 billion galaxies. The Milky Way and its larger neighbor, Andromeda, are 2.5 MILLION light years apart and light travels 186,000 miles per second. You start putting 2 and 2 together and you begin to have the barest inkling of the vastness of it all… and God created all of it (in 6 days which didn’t exist as a unit of measure until Earth was set spinning on its axis, then rested a day which became the Sabbath) down to the most distant mote of dust and along with it the laws of physics, like gravity and atomic structures, by which it all hangs together and operates. The whole shebang is either 13.8 billion years old or 6,000 years old depending on what religious or non-religious story or calculation you buy into. I’m going with the bigger number. Actually I believe time is infinite going both backward and forward if time can even be said to exist at all.

So here we are, you, I, and our earthly cohort, the only known life, much less intelligent life, in the universe, on a common satellite of a common star in a common galaxy. And aren’t we the lucky ones to be alive at this present moment and not dead and gone ages ago? I would love to be around long enough to see how everything turns out but, alas…

    • malthuss June 27, 2020 at 11:42 pm #

      so how many planets?

  75. Q. Shtik June 27, 2020 at 9:46 pm #

    …continued from above…

So God, for whatever rationale, decided to focus his attention on planet Earth and to create life of all sorts there and each of the humans had an animating principle of life called a soul. Common sense would say that all OTHER life must have had souls too (right down to the billions of bacteria in your intestinal tract) and God is keeping an eye on all these lives and souls at all times. You might wonder “how does he or she do it?” Actually it’s easy when your God, omniscient, present everywhere, and all powerful.

So God, for reasons of his own, focused on a people variously referred to in Scripture as Hebrews, Israelites, Jews, etc in a specific area of the planet we currently call the mid-east. Why not Mongolia or Central America or Burkina Faso? Who knows? And God was concerned with the welfare of these Hebrews to the exclusion of all others. He (for simplicity in writing I am portraying God with male gender although, again, common sense would say he has no need for reproductive genitalia of any type) named them his ‘chosen’ people. He communicated regularly with certain leaders of this people and helped them escape slavery under the Egyptians and gain dominance over all other peoples who stood in their way while advancing to a promised land. This often involved miracles to achieve certain purposes in the mid-east of Earth. Somehow this doesn’t seem like fair treatment of Others from a perfectly just God. But maybe fair, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.

God gave the Hebrews a whole set of laws to live by and God forbid (pun intended) they should violate them or there would be, and often was, Hell to pay. So many rules and regs. Having read thus far 68% of the Old Testament, many questions come to mind. For example, why would God be pleased by the slaughtering of animals as sacrifices? I’m pretty sure God has no need to eat or drink. These sacrifices, known as holocausts are endless in the OT. How can such a supreme being be pleased or displeased about anything? You’d think he would be above such lowly concerns.

Another thing is the obsession with circumcision. Sure, I can appreciate there might be health issues with head cheese and all but nowhere in my reading thus far has God explained why he wanted foreskins cut off. And not only Jews’ foreskins (note I am switching to calling these people Jews for simplicity in writing) but the foreskins of males of enemy peoples.

There is a story in the OT (I will paraphrase but the numbers I use will adequately demonstrate the gist of the story). God directed the Jews to send out some warriors to meet the enemy and bring back 100 foreskins. The Jewish commander figured if 100 foreskins was good 1,000 foreskins was better. And so he brought back 1,000.
What’s up wit dis? After awhile I had to stop reading the Bible even though I had committed to myself that I would read the whole thing cover to cover. It was often too violent and gross but worse, ridiculous in the extreme. And yet there are Jews who believe these stories word for word as long as it’s the right Hebrew version. What are the odds these stories came down to the present without error and, more important, were not the concoction of a narcissist on a power trip? Zero, zilch, and nada.

You’d love the White Man’s Bible by Ben Klassen. He says much the same thing. Also that the Jews invented Christianity to destroy the White Race. I don’t believe this, but I will go with Nietzsche, Spengler, Gibbon (Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire) et al that it has weakened us with its anti-life philosophy. It is pro-Life or God or Eternal Life in other words.

Circumcision is a terror initiation. It tells the baby how horrid life and people are. Look at how it has worked! People like us have conquered the world!

  76. Q. Shtik June 27, 2020 at 9:59 pm #

    …continued from above…

I never got to the New Testament. But I don’t want to be too hard on the Jews because the back story of every religion that ever was or is is totally ridiculous as well. How about the Ganesha story in Hinduism. That’s a corker. What about Muhammad’s (Islam) night flight around the world on a winged horse? Don’t hold me to the details. And then there is Mormonism… Don’t get me started on Joseph Smith and the angel (Boney :-)) Moroni. And what about the whirling Dervishes? Aren’t they the ones that never lie down or sit down – EVER – or am I confusing them with some other sect? Jesus H. Christ!

All of these religions, particularly the ancient ones (although the modern ones are equally as appalling) make a certain sense given the general ignorance of the people in those distant times. Lightning would strike because God was angry and thunder was clouds bumping into each other (or was that from Beatrix Potter and not the Bible?). The religion of each people was, of course, the one true religion and God created these favored people first. No religion ever came second and was never NOT the one true religion. That would be absurd on its face. Their God was the one true God to the exclusion of competing claims of others. And theirs was first. It’s like every town in America, it seems, claims to have the very first McDonald’s restaurant. Or the absolute best pizza anywhere. Ever noticed this? It’s uncanny and people believe these myths.

And all religions have Scriptures inspired by the Big Guy, not dreamed up by a regular person with an active imagination and a gift for turning a phrase, and any others extant are bogus. Oh the endless wars and death these writings have caused. Truth be known, these scriptures were written by men who created God in man’s image by anthropomorphizing Him. Not the other way around. By necessity God had to look, act and think like a human. Man and the universe could not be envisioned in any other terms.

Most religions find it natural to proselytize. To go out and bring in fresh blood (members). Getting other people to believe as you do gives a warm feeling that comes with having your biases confirmed. Even if the recruits have to be tortured into conversion. The Mormons of Salt Lake City manage to proselytize by coming to your door wearing suits and ties or, if female, wearing flat shoes, no makeup, and long dresses showing minimal skin. Plain but wholesome. They are polite and clean as hounds teeth. There is no torture other than in trying to get them to leave after you have heard all you can bear to hear of their sales pitch. And they leave you with handouts to peruse. From all I can tell, this is a successful religion with great and genuine charity especially to neighbors and fellow members. And, in their favor, they are not opposed to seeking and accumulating the almighty dollar.

Christianity in its many forms and endless offshoots is the big guy on the block, especially Catholics, but I perceive their efforts at retaining members, much less recruiting new ones, is nearly in free fall. People have wised up to the sale of indulgences racket to buy time off from purgatory where you are tortured in fire until your sins are purged and you’re fit to proceed into heaven. Well, it sure beats eternity in Hell. They – the fallen-away – question the mumbo jumbo of 3 persons in one God, the virgin birth, and all sorts of miracles like the loaves and fishes, Jonah and the whale, and the raising of Lazarus from the dead stories. It is all a bit much for a modern man (in which term I include women despite their howls of being placed in a secondary position) with at least a Junior HS degree and two eyes. Yet there are many totally committed fundamentalist “Evangelicals” who believe their scriptures verbatim. The mind boggles.

    …to be continued below…

    • Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 1:00 am #

You have a very literal mind. Symbolism throws you completely. You would have done much better in an Evangelical Church, or as a Muslim or Jew. Just monotheism. No Trinity, Angels, Virgin, or Saints.

Hinduism is even more complex. Yet they found the Western characterization of them as “polytheists” deeply offensive. They believe in One God. The gods are all different aspects of God. Even if believed in objectively, that still remains true.

Catholics believe the same anent their diversity.

  77. Q. Shtik June 27, 2020 at 10:06 pm #

    …continued from above

The Jews are kind of unique. They don’t proselytize. In fact they seem to discourage anyone from joining their very exclusive organization (as George Carlin is famous for saying in a different context, “it’s a big club and you ain’t innit.”) They don’t want Jews marrying non-Jews especially Goy women because any offspring of a non-Jew woman is not truly a Jew. They don’t want to come to dinner at your house and eat on your un-kosher dishes unless they are half-baked Jews who would leave home without their yarmulka on. Being a Jew goes much deeper than a set of beliefs. It is a full blown culture that includes the maintenance of genetic purity to a degree where they themselves see the dangers of inbreeding (two heads, mongolism, flipper arms, or whatever) and take mitigating steps. But they are extremely successful at passing on traditions which makes them one people no matter where they reside. I am thinking of the Passover Seder dinner (I have attended a few) where readings are done in Hebrew (just try reading backwards, it’s like driving in England :-)) and the opening words, if memory serves me, are “Why is this night different from all other nights?”

Sooo, with all God has on his plate with the vastness of the universe and all the probable life out there of which trillions are probably intelligent (and who can say for sure a bacterium is not intelligent?), God speaks Hebrew, writes Hebrew and is, in fact, a Hebrew God. Riiiight.

Even with all the absurdities I’m poking fun at, I have not even scratched the surface. Is it any wonder I long ago became a non-believer? Do you ever wonder what is going on in the mind of your pet cat? Well I wonder about what’s in the minds of otherwise smart people on this blog site. No need to name names. You know them when they quote chapter and verse numbers without having to even glance at their well-worn book of myths, sagas, fables and yarns.

    …The End…

      One or two comments,

      What if

Jesus, through his being God in human form, did raise Lazarus?

God did sacrifice the human form Of Jesus, to death To show the followers who was in charge. Then God raised the form of Jesus to his followers vision to really show who The Man really was.

The Lazarus effect, the crucifixion, the Resurrection, the Ascension, and Pentecost were impressive enough to inspire first eleven guys, then thousands of followers to fight for, preach and die for the ideals that Jesus taught.

I would believe in Jesus’ teachings alone as the only credo that has a chance to make Man what he needs to be. We are facing the near victory of the other side.

Another idea for the southern bent of the virus is tied to the ports of call and the constant back and forth that goes on there. So. California, Arizona, New Mexico is starting, Texas, Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and North Carolina are recipients of international travelers and workers. Northern states are relatively untouched.

Another idea I already stated on Monday, is that the reason for the dichotomy between North and South is the same effect that might explain SARS disappearance. Could it be that the asymptomatic numbers of people are so enormous, CDC just indicated it may be 10x what is tested, that areas going through surge go to 70% herd immunity very quickly. We would not even know that most people ever had it.

That is scary, but it means that after the initial surge in the new southern areas the new cases may fall like a rock like it did in NY, New Jersey etc. Let us hope so. In the meantime, all you older folks, me included, wear your damn mask, I do, and stay away from everyone. Risky behavior begets bad news.

Is there any evidence for this assertion? States like NY and NJ, plus DC, would receive just as many out-of-state and international visitors.

Might it not be a couple of other factors: (a) reopening early, especially “social” activity like bars and restaurants (b) more air conditioning use, and (c) for a few of those states, more beach-going?

Whites and Indians. The author says the both Massachusetts and Jamestown (later Virginia) tried to build a “bi-racial” society. I don’t know about that, but it did try to convert the Indians at first. But because of the Life Force, the Whites could never stop growing and taking their lands, by hook or by crook. The Indians realized that they were doomed unless they stopped them. The Life Force impelled them to make war on the Whites. After a major White massacre in Jamestown and the King Phillip War in New England, all ideas about living together were gone forever.

Now imagine if the Whites were real Christians! At least as they are reckoned now: They would have been slaughtered right from the start and their women taken as slaves and playthings. Whites changed Christianity into a serving life (the life force) after the first few centuries of meekness. After centuries of life and Life being mixed well together, the balance was lost, and Christianity began to serve only Life and then actually anti-life (enemies), and even Anti-Life (consciously choosing to serve Evil).

    • BackRowHeckler June 28, 2020 at 6:23 am #

We were up in Stockbridge, Mass a few days ago, set up as a ‘Praying Town’ in the 17th century, where the English tried to assimilate Indians, teach them to read and write, and Christianize them. Dartmouth College in New Hampshire was established for much the same reason.

    My San Antonio

Hours after Gov. Jay Inslee, D, ordered Washington state residents to cover their faces in public, a Republican sheriff in a rural swath of the state’s southwest suggested they should be doing no such thing.

“Here’s what I say,” Lewis County Sheriff Robert Snaza told the crowd outside a church Tuesday, carrying a megaphone and sporting his green and beige uniform but no face mask. “Don’t be a sheep.”

Few of the people cheering on Snaza covered their faces either, according to video of the scene taken by the Daily Chronicle of Centralia, Wash. Indeed, the words on a billboard above the crowd seemed to capture their feeling about the pandemic: “Oh, no! A virus. Quick – burn the bill of rights.”

He is not alone. In Nevada and North Carolina on Thursday, multiple sheriffs said their Democratic governors’ mask requirements were “unconstitutional and unenforceable.” After five California counties ignored a similar directive, Gov. Gavin Newsom, D, threatened to withhold state funds. Another Washington state sheriff called Inslee an “idiot.”

As they battle through viral Facebook posts and appearances on local TV and radio, these mostly Republican sheriffs have effectively blocked their governors’ orders. If they refuse to enforce their rules, it is unclear who else will.

SV: Against the Masked Ones, we shall rise. We don’t believe in your evil, all powerful Virus God.

You shouldn’t have tried to force your Cult on all of us. Forswear before it’s too late.

Christianity has been proven to be a total fairy-tale crock, at least since Copernicus kicked it in the guts in the 16th Century. You are talking total fairy-tales people. Grow up – science has replaced oogoo-boogoo nonsense.

And the number of (symptomless) “cases” will continue to rise with the rise in the number of tests carried out.

      That’s math, you see.

And one day, if they keep testing, the US will have tens of millions of such meaningless “cases”.

      You truly are a cretin.

And one day, if they keep testing, the US will have tens of millions of such meaningless “cases”.

Perhaps you should go and scoff – if you dare – right in the faces of the thousands of hard-pressed medical staff in very busy hospitals, in Florida, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, and California … plus a dozen more states where symptomatic Covid-19 is surging.

Plus the positivity rates in some of those states is really high – showing that the level of community spread is far greater than anticipated. If it is high enough, then mitigation becomes essentially impossible.

Why would Trump Campaign feel a need to have rally attendees sign a waiver for a hoax?

      • K-Dog June 28, 2020 at 6:38 am #

Attendees don’t read the invisible ink. And to do it up right you are supposed to sign it with you own blood. Ivanka has a souvenir pen for sale in the White House gift shop just for the purpose. You hold it against the tip of your finger and press a button. An almost painless prick fills the pen with a tiny drop of blood. Just enough to sign your name with.

As soon as Ivanka learns enough HTML she is going to sell the blood contract pens online. Don’t tell her about this place.

I want her to bark up the wrong tree.

      • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 7:25 am #

Apparently prophylactic hydroxychloroquine was thought to prevent infection by a hoax as well. 🙂 At least four people on this very board have simultaneously claimed that (a) Covid19 is a hoax and (b) HCQ will cure it.

Leaving aside specific arguments about one particular drug, who takes prescription medicines for an asymptomatic virus? And not even for it, but to guard against its terrifying possibilities in advance when they haven’t even contracted it?

Pay attention to what they do, not what they say, as always.

        • Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 12:36 pm #

If my mask doesn’t protect me from you (generic, ok? Don’t try to make it about “you”, “you” don’t matter, you’re not black!), then my mask doesn’t protect you from me.

The masks either work or they don’t. Thus no one should feel threatened by my not wearing one as long as you wear yours. I assume you believe in your mask and that’s why you wear it. Your choice to be a slave shouldn’t be forced on me or society at large…

The Marxist Christian, “you wear your mask to protect other people” is thus proven to be utter garbage. It works or it doesn’t.

          • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 1:11 pm #

You seem to be confused Mr Skorenzy. What you have said about masks makes no sense, despite repeated explanations offered to you, including by JohnAZ, who knows what he’s talking about on the matter rather more than you do.

But your education is not my problem.

And if Covid19 is a hoax, we don’t need to discuss masks, right? I wasn’t discussing masks. I was discussing the bizarre position some have taken up that (a) Covid19 is a hoax and yet (b) HCQ cures Covid19. I find the juxtaposition of these two assertions amusing, and I am (so far) allowed to find amusement where I will.

I am guessing that you have chosen to bring masks into the discussion because you can’t refute what I said about the bizarre juxtaposition of the two assertions, and this annoys you?

Well, tough. You might as well stay under your bridge, because I don’t have anything to feed you regarding masks. Been there, done that. I’ve said all I want to about masks, thanks – you can do what you want with any of it. My belief is that your priority is not to solve a problem in any way, so do what you like.

Your Mr Prez was concerned enough about catching the hoax that he took prophylactic prescription medicine in an attempt to avoid it. Under advisement from clever people. I find this funny, because I consider myself to be at risk (according to the science so far), yet all I’m doing is taking two Vit. D pills a day instead of one, plus a daily baby aspirin (which is even more ‘baby’ here than in the US). So I have to conclude that Mr Prez is more worried about catching the hoax than I am. This amuses me too.

Amusement is good. Laughter being the best medicine an’ all. I am amused at how much mental energy and outrage you are prepared to waste – and how much trolling you are prepared to do – on the issue of face masks. I wish you peace from it soon.

Where are you on J.K Rowling’s battle against they Tranny hordes?

          • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 2:33 pm #

“You can breathe in your own Carbon Dioxide until you faint.”

While I’m in a shop for three minutes? goodness, I’m glad you warned me. Mind you, I survived a train journey to Norfolk and back at the end of last month without fainting, so I won’t worry too much. I’ll leave the pearl clutching to you.

“Where are you on J.K Rowling’s battle against they Tranny hordes?”

I’m not much of an activist, I’m afraid, but she has my support in spirit. I’m not signing up to Twitter for anyone.

Both she and I agree that you can have sympathy for ‘trans’ people and try not to cause them distress, without having to agree with the assertion that they have become the biological opposite of what they were. For me it seems obvious simply because they’re all on hormones permanently (as I understand it) and if they stopped they’d start to ‘un-transition’ to a certain degree.

The public toilet issue leaves me flummoxed. I don’t personally have any objection to a female-looking trans person coming into the same toilet as me. I wouldn’t feel the same about someone much more burly but wearing a frock. But I wouldn’t expect a vulnerable transwoman to take her chances in a busy male toilet either. So I have no answers.

Interestingly, though, around a week ago there was a long item/investigation on Newsnight about issues raised by some anxious staff in the Tavistock Clinic (no-one from there would come along to answer questions), partly inspired, I think, by JK Rowling’s incident. The agenda of the Newsnight team was most definitely that there seemed to be reasons for concern and that answers were needed. It struck me as strange, given your repeated accusations that the BBC pushes a transgender agenda.

One point was made (by a member of staff, but not in person) that one issue is parents preferring to see their child transition to a woman than to remain a gay adolescent, so as with the situation in Iran, a certain amount of trans-enthusiasm would seem to be about homophobia.

          • Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 3:29 pm #

            Concession about what?

          • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 4:23 pm #

If you mean masks, I’m doing what I choose and you remain traumatised, so it can’t be that?

          • Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 5:16 pm #

You quoted (approvingly) the Marxist/Christian dictum, “My mask protects you and your mask protects me”. I countered with if my mask doesn’t protect me it can protect you either. Life is a two way street, Alba.

          • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 7:10 pm #

I’m sorry you still don’t get it. No mask will protect you or me, unless it’s a medical-grade one – it can only, in aggregate lower the overall rate of transmission, because one infected mask-wearing person, on average, will be likely to infect fewer people than one infected non-mask-wearing person. I’ve explained this to you before. I don’t know why you find it so difficult.

That anyone would need to think of this as a Marxist-Christian dictum is a sign of the sad times we live in and the weird places people go to in their heads.

          • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 7:22 pm #

And I’m not explaining that to you again, even if you continue to troll me on the matter. You got one more explanation than you were due.

Thank you, Iannana – I’ve downloaded the transcript for later.

A few years ago, I worked freelance (for the publisher) on this book:

It was an eye opener, in terms of the detail of the multiple operations – everything from moving hairlines and modifying brow bones and Adam’s apples to transplanting erectile tissue – that some people go through. The thought of reversing all of that is mindblowing – and much of it straight off impossible, I’d have thought.

I guess physical ‘reversability’ would depend on the degree of change you signed up for. Not everyone goes for the whole kit and caboodle.

Minneapolis is going ahead in dismantling its PD. Seems a little self defeating I know, specially in light of dozens of shootings and assaults after riots that destroyed 700 businesses. Who will enforce the law? Will there be chaos and mayhem on the streets? What about the courts, will they still protect private property? Well, apparently a plan exists, the core of which is to expand Shariah Patrols that were established in the city to protect Mosques when Mosques began broadcasting the Call to Prayer throughout neighborhoods, and enforce Shariah Law. Another force would be Antifa cadre trained in Venezuela in tactics of Revolutionary Law Enforcement, whatever that is. It can’t be good. Sounds a little crazy but when you realize the state AG Kieth Ellison is an Antifa supporter and a radical Muslim himself, it doesn’t sound so crazy. I doubt if the human worms in the Govs office and the mayors office in Minbeapolis would stand up to it, and you know the MSM would be down with it all the way. “Who will enforce the law?”

you’re right, BRH. It’ll be an “all of the above” on that one. In the Cedar Riverside neighborhood you might have a Muslim militia. Maybe there will be organized crime controlling the black parts of town. Private security and private military companies could provide security in parts of the city there. Maybe some neighborhoods will form into their own units.

This is a great opportunity for the anarcho-capitalist out there. Form your own security company! Lot of money to be made.

      • BackRowHeckler June 28, 2020 at 11:15 am #

I’ve read there are more than a dozen street gangs operating in Minneapolis; I can envision each one providing a semblance of neighborhood security– for a price.

Say, the Minneapolis City Council, what a freakshow, almost as bizarre as the one in Seattle. Leadership is everything, specially in the life of the Big City.

“Another force would be Antifa cadre trained in Venezuela in tactics of Revolutionary Law Enforcement, whatever that is:

You should understand that the Red Guards of China performed those tasks. Done and done well.

…Of course, it was accomplished against a population unarmed.

Attempted in the good old USA it will become sporty.

The end game, of course, would require the military to intervene.

Consider that the Posse Comitatus laws have been broached since 2010.

      …and you without a Model 28….

      • benr June 28, 2020 at 11:35 am #

        A pistol won’t do it.

You need a good long gun with a larger caliber.

        • elysianfield June 28, 2020 at 5:02 pm #

If I might suggest a basic truth. The best weapon to have in any situation is the one then available to you. A large caliber Assault Weapon in the closet has no value when unavailable…the pocket revolver then is solid gold.

In the past, I was an …enthusiast. Most every caliber, any configuration, including machine guns. What do I carry today? A S&W New Departure hammerless in 32 S&W. Fits well in my front pocket. The gun is over 100 years old. Reliable. Adequate in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing.

          • Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 5:14 pm #

            A wheel gun or not?

          • benr June 28, 2020 at 5:36 pm #

True what I should have said is a pistol, a rifle, and a trusty pump shotgun.

As far as the ridiculous misnomer of assault rifle a good five shot 30-06 or 30-30 will out perform most ar-15’s when it comes down to it. not for spray and pray of course but for good old fashioned precision long shots 300-1,000 yards. Most people will never need such but its neat to target shoot at range.

          • BackRowHeckler June 28, 2020 at 6:05 pm #

            That’s sound advice you’re disseminating, E.

For the average civilian looking to arm himself (or herself) a medium frame revolver is more than adequate. I know you’re partial to S&W but there are less costly options out there too; Taurus and Charter Arms come to mind.

Sometime people interested in buying a gun ask me for a recommendation … Depending on their circumstance of course … I’ve been mostly suggesting a Mossberg 20 guage pump, doesn’t cost a lot, things are modular, relatively easy to use, reliable … I tell them get some training, learn the laws in our state and follow them and so on. Like JHK says in one of his books ‘a piece in the closet is often a great comfort’

I wonder why black people traded Soul for Rap? The well-educated black people, like Bill Cosby, listen to Jazz. Bill Cosby’s favorite jazz artist is John Coltrane. John Coltrane was a poor black kid (from North Carolina?) who was given a saxophone by a black Christian preacher. I think that John Coltrane was one of those successful, but self-destructive blokes who, like Dr. Cosby, was addicted (music and alcohol) and couldn’t control himself? It’s interesting that Dr. Cosby identified with John Coltrane, a black gentleman, but looked down on most black males who are not gentlemen. A black gentleman listens to Jazz, not Rap.

At this point what is happening in the streets has metastacized to the level where people are drawn into it simply due to an array of limbic social impulses involving fear of being estranged from where power seems to be accumulating. Already’ its force has affected mass media (manipulated) consensus about permissable language — PC, along with requiring gestures of accord to simplistic slogans (like sieg heil or “no human is illegal”). The picture of Biden is priceless but I think you might be wrong about him imitating Lincoln. I think he forgot he had it on. The corona hysteria will be kept alive (the virus and the drama) until the day after the election and then it will magically return to China along with promises for trade concessions if the democrats win. They’re playing a dangerous game and are too arrogant to know it. They’ve decided they’re the smartest guys in the room and can game everyone else. Just like Enron.

Kamala Harris is just as mean and smart as her lighter skinned, older clone Hillary. As a former prosecutor, where is she condemning the lawlessness? She’s waiting in the wings to finish off Stacey Abrams and the rest while the tapes from the democratic debates are being erased. Hillary is too much of a known quantity to run again — you may be right but she’s devoid of charisma and I would think they’d want someone younger on the ticket with Joe.

Ironically, there is a similarity between the attitudes about coronavirus, and the attitudes about climate change. You can decide that neither of these is real, but it doesn’t matter what you think. Without precautions, covid 19 will kill as many people as it feels like. The same thing is true with climate change. Cognitive dissonance in either case is no more effective than a fart in a hurricane. Mother Nature ALWAYS bats last. With regards to climate change, our children will curse us as they are forced to live in the world that we allowed to happen.

Well, here in the west we’re building windmills as fast as we can. Trouble is, in China, coal fired power plants are springing up like mushrooms.

But how reliable are windmills and solar panel, in a practical sense? We need steady, reliable and cheap juice? If windmills can give us that by all means, shut down fossil fuel power plants and hook up to windmills.

      • beantownbill. June 28, 2020 at 3:08 pm #

Marlin, I don’t think that windmills will solve our energy issues, although they might lessen them somewhat. On top of that, they are environmentally bad because of noise pollution and the killing of multitudinous flying creatures.

I think solar power satellites have potential, but they won’t be built because powerful influences won’t let it happen.

Here are the numbers cover-19 feels like killing — (per 100,000) in the UK 65 for a mortality rate of 0.00065 — it’s the highest and the lowest is Germany with 11 for a mortality rate of 0.00011. This virus is real just as climate change is real but the dispute is what to do about it. The WHO condemned Sweden and is now backing off.

“In its emailed comment on Friday, the WHO said “there are several very positive trends in Sweden, notably, a continued decrease in new cases presenting with severe disease, a gradual decrease in patients admitted into intensive care since April, and continued decreasing numbers of new Covid-19 deaths. Sweden has involved the community in the response, and has been able to keep transmission to levels that can be managed by the Swedish health system,” the organization said.”

In my opinion and that’s all it is — we’ve paid a high price for a virus with a low mortality rate.

      • beantownbill. June 28, 2020 at 3:20 pm #

Good post, I agree. But me being old means I have a hard decision to make about taking precautions. If I take don’t take precautions and am wrong, I can die. If I do take precautions and I didn’t have to, other than an inconvenience, it doesn’t hurt me. This whole process reminds me of years ago when I had to choose between wearing a condom or not just before I had sex.

        • SW June 28, 2020 at 3:50 pm #

Reasonable precautions make sense and they’re the ones you’re probably already taking. Handwashing is the most important and masks don’t work. Even though scientists knew viruses existed, prior to the electron microscope no one had ever been able to see one. The best example I’ve read about masks and viruses is like trying to stop mosquitos with a chainlink fence. People who are sick have to isolate or be isolated just like with a cold, flu or or highly deadly diseases such as Ebola.

          • GreenAlba June 29, 2020 at 6:19 am #

“People who are sick have to isolate or be isolated just like with a cold, flu or or highly deadly diseases such as Ebola.”

Trouble is, ‘people who are sick’ with Covid19 don’t know they are sick during the critical couple of days before their symptoms show, when they are already infectious.

If one of those people coughs in a supermarket, the invisible droplets will hit more people if the cougher is not wearing a mask than if they are. Just the way it is.

It’s science, but not rocket science.

      • Kakadu Man June 28, 2020 at 4:03 pm #

In my opinion and that’s all it is — we’ve paid a high price for a virus with a low mortality rate.

It might seem to be so, however the logic is flawed. If countries had not gone into tough levels of lockdown, then the death rates could have been much higher – overwhelming medical services and pushing up death rates.

So the success of lockdowns is now being used by some to say the whole thing was a beat-up – or as some ludicrously claim on here, a “hoax”.

  96. Sredni Vashtar June 28, 2020 at 12:50 pm #

A journalist laid waste to a panel of California officials in an epic speech over their over-the-top coronavirus lockdowns which have caused incalculable damage to the nation.

Speaking before the Ventura County Board of Supervisors earlier this week, journalist John Ziegler laid out his grievances with the coronavirus shutdowns and masks in an explosive speech that has since gone viral.

“This board is pretending that for the last three months, your emperor, Dr. Levin, has not been against a mask declaration,” Ziegler began. “Now all of a sudden, we’re pretending that masks are everything, even forcing speakers to use masks.”

“I would like the board to take a position. Was Dr. Levin wrong for those three months? And if he was this wrong, why has he not been removed? Why has he not been fired for being so catastrophically wrong?”

“Or do you not really believe that he was wrong, you’re just wearing these masks because it is a signal of your great virtue?” he continued. “Because for the last three months we have not worn them, and Ventura County is done outstandingly well, and continues to do outstandingly well because we are not Los Angeles, we are not New York City, we were never going to be any of those things.”

“Ironically, this was one of the things Dr. Levin was actually right about,” Ziegler said. “He has been wrong about everything. He’s the one who told us we’d have 4 to 600 hospitalizations a day. He revised that to 2 to 4 hundred a day. We still haven’t reached that in one day. We’re barely over 200 for the entire ordeal that you guys have put us through.”

“We’re now panicked over 51 total hospitalizations in a county with eight hospitals! Can you people do math? Can you please do basic math and understand where we are on this?”

Ziegler then warned the board that they would be held accountable for their reckless actions that totally upended the livelihoods of the working class.

“This is not a crisis,” Ziegler declared. “You however, have created one! You, in an effort to prevent all death, when we’ve had 43 deaths, have now ended all relevant life. And you should all be ashamed of yourselves. And this will never be forgotten, ever be forgotten! You will all be held accountable eventually, in this life or the next!”

“Ya’ll better hope there’s no hell, because when you die, that’s where you’re going, and guess what? You’re not going to be dying of COVID either,” he concluded before storming off.

SV: The purpose of the Mask is to dehumanize us by separating us from others. Those who refuse to put on the mask become the “other” and unspeakably evil. Thus the “mob” is created: united in their anonymity and inhumanity. They don’t have to know each other since they already know that they’re all good: they’re wearing the Mask after all.

How twisted of them to twist it by admitting it doesn’t save you but rather your mask saves other people. You wear it for other people? How’s that work? If it doesn’t help you stop incoming water droplets bearing covid, then it’s not going to help them stop your outgoing water droplets bearing covid. It either works or it doesn’t.

    • capt spaulding June 28, 2020 at 1:45 pm #

I fully support you in your beliefs. If you think this is all bullshit, then by all means disregard the mask, frequent crowded bars, etc., and if you make it through, more power to you. I’m a firm believer in Darwinism, and would never dream of interrupting anyone who pursues their beliefs. Climate change however, will affect the world, and our children’s children into the future, and impacts everyone. Sweden has taken the opposite tack with regards to the virus, and it will be interesting to see how they have fared after the dust settles. Perhaps the snoose they chew will stand them in good stead. I wish them well.

    • GreenAlba June 28, 2020 at 2:02 pm #

“Those who refuse to put on the mask become the “other” and unspeakably evil. Thus the “mob” is created: united in their anonymity and inhumanity.”

I have to conclude that Boston is just a more melodramatic place. In my neck of the woods, some people are wearing masks and some people aren’t. And yet we remain mob-less and without either unspeakable evil or inhumanity. In other words (thought you’d like that!), nobody appears to be paying any attention at all to who’s wearing one and who isn’t. Possibly more boring, but much less of an effort to deal with, in terms of neurosis.

      From the Daily Beast

Retiring Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN) implored President Donald Trump to publicly wear a mask on Sunday in order to cool the politicization of mask-wearing, appealing to the president’s vanity in the process.

With coronavirus cases and hospitalizations surging across the nation and states pulling back on reopening their economies, Alexander was asked by CNN’s Manu Raju on Sunday morning about the president’s resistance to symbolically embrace a basic safety protocol.

“You, I see you wearing your red-and-black plaid mask throughout the capitol, your staff does as well,” Raju noted on CNN’s Inside Politics. “The president, however, he refuses to wear one. The vice president continues to say this is an issue states should decide. Should the White House do more and the president do more to urge Americans to wear masks?”

Alexander, who is leaving office at the end of the year, said he wished Trump “would wear a mask when it is appropriate,” adding that “millions of Americans admire him” and would therefore follow his lead. Recent polls show that while the vast majority of Americans say they’ve been wearing masks in public spaces, more Democrats than Republicans have worn face coverings amid the pandemic.

The Tennessee lawmaker went on to point out that the administration’s public health experts have all said social distancing, mask-wearing, and hand washing can help contain the disease before reiterating that Trump publicly wearing a mask would “get rid of this political debate.”

“The stakes are much too high for that,” he added. “So I understand why he does it. Most of the time he’s with people who have been tested, he’s been tested, so they’re not infecting others. But there are times when he could wear a mask, the vice president could wear a mask, it would signal to the country to do so.”

The conservative senator ended his plea to Trump by playing to the president’s well-known obsession with appearing strong and tough.

“People admire him and will follow his lead,” Alexander concluded. “So I think it would be a sign of strength if he would from time to time wear a mask and remind everyone that it is a good way to help with this disease.”

      Rare sense from a Re
