David Collum is the Betty R. Miller Professor of Chemistry at Cornell University. He is the intellectual utility infielder of internet commentary, covering all the bases: culture, politics, finance, and technology, with often surprising views on the the predicaments of our time. Here we attempt to make sense of the fast-moving corona virus story and the increasingly weird and troubling second-order events spinning off of it into the global economy and fractious American politics du jour.

The KunstlerCast theme music is the beautiful Two Rivers Waltz written and performed by Larry Unger.

Biden was consistently favored in polls prior to the election. And the polls are conducted by 22 different polling organizations. Like, they colluded to assist the Democrats?

Thanks for another great, intelligent, reasoned conversation.

    A few comments:

I have also given up predicting the end of the current financial paradigm. Rule number one is still – don’t fight the Fed.

The California rolling blackouts and wildfires were a preview of the bright Green energy future.

As for nuclear, the West may no longer have the human capital to properly run a network of nuclear plants to provide energy for society.

If Biden is installed China will have won WW3 without firing a shot.

Our current traitor class make Benedict Arnold look like a red-blooded patriot.

I love David Collum. He’s so unpretentious but has great insights. I like the flow of conversation as well. He isn’t pushing his own agenda and actually responds to issues Jim brings up, unlike some other guests.
I’d just like to curl up at the feet of David, Jim, and Art Berman over the holiday season, but I can’t see how it might come together given my location in the western part of Canada. Unrequited love, I suppose.

Collum is against group statements…??? Um, wow, he’s against the Declaration of Independence then.
