Rep. Maxine Waters (D – Calif) laid it out neatly Friday night on a visit to Minneapolis, where she apparently went to stir a pot of racial hatred that was already on boil without her help, following the accidental killing of felonious bail jumper Daunte Wright (first-degree aggravated robbery, fleeing from police, and possession of a handgun without a permit): “We got to stay on the street,” Ms. Waters yelled at the mob gathered in the suburb of Brooklyn Center, “get more confrontational!” Yes, exactly what the sore-beset city needs, as it awaits this week’s verdict in the trial of Derek Chauvin, about which she added: “I am very hopeful… that we will get a verdict that says guilty, guilty, guilty. If we do not, we will not go away.”

Former police officer Chauvin is charged with Murder 2, Murder 3, and Manslaughter all predicated on varying degrees of intention and recklessness in the death of George Floyd, the internationally acclaimed saint-of-oppressed-peoples who died under Mr. Chauvin’s knee in an indelible video shared ‘round the world last May. The video has the status of a religious icon, portraying, as it seems to, the vivid distillation of the black experience in America: pure, unalloyed, hateful, murderous subjugation.

The trouble is what’s not in the indelible picture: Mr. Floyd’s prodigious ingestion of the world’s hardest narcotic, fentanyl, at a level likely to cause death, plus methedrine, plus THC, on top of a 90-percent blockage of a coronary artery, and other cardiopathies, and Covid-19, all according to the official medical examiner. Also, as it happened in the instance of his arrest, Mr. Floyd was failing to follow police instructions, and acting dangerously deranged — behavior apt to lead to police restraint, under which he died, rest his soul.

So, now it will be left to the jury to sort all this out, under the threat of getting “doxed” (having their home addresses disclosed) by the Black Lives Matter org, as well as following the $27-million lawsuit settlement on the Floyd family for “wrongful death” by the Minneapolis City Council before the trial commenced — not exactly a propitious lead-in for a fair outcome. One might even view the public expressions of black opinion leaders and politicians as coercive — but then coercion is the animating spirit of liberal Wokery, the wish and the will to punish at all costs.

In any case, the fine spring weather around the country invites the young and energetic to caper angrily in the streets after a harsh winter of lockdowns. The mobs will turn out, things will burn, businesses will get looted (and destroyed), and people will get hurt. So it will be for two reasons: groups of people follow social scripts and societies give tacit permission for the acting-out of feelings — in this case, feelings of grievance that demand retribution and vengeance.

What’s actually at issue here is whether black people in America really want to join with the other ethnic groups present in the land in a national common culture — that is, a consensus about behavior, ceremonies, and manners — or would rather opt out of it, oppose it, or violently destroy what’s left of it. The key to these questions is how to explain the failure-to-thrive of a large black demographic despite the apparent victories of a long civil rights campaign, colossal expenditures of tax money for assistance, and affirmative action galore. I would explain it as the malign influence of neurotic white liberalism acting on the aforesaid black ambivalence about joining in or remaining apart from that common culture.

The upshot, for now, is that white liberalism has given black America permission to act violently and destructively, to disobey the law, to oppose officers attempting to enforce the law, and to justify the whole package of uncivil behavior on the grounds that “systemic racism” and “white supremacy” are the forces that keep black Americans from thriving. The script for all this prevails because liberalism cannot otherwise explain its own failure to uplift black America over many years of sedulous striving. They are left disappointed, ashamed, and guilty, and neurotically give themselves permission to support black hostility and hatred against white people as a form of self-punishment. The catch is that not all white people in America are neurotic liberals and they are not in favor of continuing white self-punishment.

The question at hand is how much longer this crazy script will be allowed to run. It appears that the country is about evenly split between those in favor of promoting black hostility and those disinclined to further submission. It’s up to American political leadership to decide, and for now the liberals are the party holding the levers of power — government, in essence, representing the blunt force that determines which way things go. And, at the head of this government sits the inert and tractable Joe Biden, who seems to have had it decided for him.

Beautifully accurate column, one of your best yet. Paragraph #6 needs to be force-fed to every liberal in this country. Start with Leonard PItts, who insists on blaming everything but black people’s own self-destruction for their problems in his columns.

    • Uncle Abraham April 19, 2021 at 10:14 am #

Barack Obama, in his role as a two term President, laid much kindling for this present bonfire, also giving matches to the “victimized” black population as he sauntered off in the distance, appearing objectively saintly, a force for truth and justice. For this, he is all the more evil and responsible for much destruction.

“Paragraph #6 needs to be force-fed to every liberal in this country.” — tractorguy

That won’t do any good, because paragraph #6 is as short-sighted & wrong as you can get. Quote:

“The key to these questions is how to explain the failure-to-thrive of a large black demographic despite the apparent victories of a long civil rights campaign, colossal expenditures of tax money for assistance, and affirmative action galore. I would explain it as the malign influence of neurotic white liberalism acting on the aforesaid black ambivalence about joining in or remaining apart from that common culture.”

If there was any evidence that blacks as a group had ever really begun to succeed & thrive in this country, then their ambivalence about joining in would have quickly melted away long ago. It’s totally understandable that you would be ambivalent if despite every advantage, you always seem to be coming in last in the marathon of life — or worse, never finishing. Worse still if you begin to notice that everyone else who looks like you is doing the same.

Oh well, we’re just going to have to wait for brain enhancement surgery to be perfected I guess.

      • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 11:07 am #

I am not seeing what you mean about short-sighted and wrong.

There is a large demographic that got left behind- what do you mean?

          • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 11:42 am #

I still don’t know what you mean specifically about short-sighted and wrong.

In purely monetary terms I’m struggling with the idea of overt reparations when we’ve had decades of covert reparations.

            @ Beryl of Oyl

To put it bluntly, blacks are never going to succeed at the same level & in the same proportion of their numbers as whites & east Asians without everlasting affirmative action rules.

They resent that, especially the “successful” ones, who use their success to stoke further resentment & dissension.

Average Black American IQ: 85. Testing results consistent for over a hundred years. They’re not going anywhere. Jefferson and Lincoln et al wanted them sent out of America. They knew what was going to happen.

Not after Griggs vs. Duke Power.

          • Ishabaka April 19, 2021 at 1:02 pm #

@Beryl – everyone who enlists in the US military gets their IQ tested – it’s called the “ASAVB” (“Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery”), and it’s an IQ test. Everyone who applies to the private sector and takes the Wonderlic Test (a covert IQ test). Likewise, the LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, and GRE are covert IQ tests).

An interesting aside: for decades now, American medical schools have had separate admission criteria for Blacks. There is now serious consideration in academic medical circles of separate graduation criteria for Blacks.

          • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 1:33 pm #

            Ish, thanks for the info.

Affirmative action for doctors was part of Obamacare, as where forced vaccines, and medical records online where anyone anywhere can access them, while your friends and family standing right there at your bedside can be told it’s none of their business.

Actually, since the scamdemic, we’ve normalized the idea that the hospital can tell you that you can’t come in to be with your loved ones when they are dying.

I have a dear old friend–conservative “country gal,” farmer-entrepreneur, pillar of the Baptist Church–who has numerous mixed grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a brother married to a black woman with activist proclivities. My friend is very vocal in her defense of blacks.

We’ve had a couple of mutually respectful conversations on this subject.

I have pointed out the black IQ deficiency to her. Her position is that measures of intelligence have been proven to be culturally biased. I’d say they have proven to be without cultural bias. Blacks are the only “cultural” group in the world whose performance is severely hampered by this claimed bias–except for some pockets of indigenous peoples in South America and Australian Aborigines.

Her reply on this: “A college professor here would be considered a total failure at performing what is considered normally expected tasks for an adult in the bush of Australia. By the same token, in the past, we have judged the intelligence of those from other cultures and races by their ability to perform Western cultural tasks. This kind of thinking in the past has led supposedly intelligent men to judge other men as less than human.”

Her choice of a college professor is perhaps a wisely chosen referent, in that this may be the only group of people in this country in which we could feel fairly assured of finding whites who were incapable of learning to perform simple tasks (or anything else). Anyone else would be able to master these skills. I used to go fishing with a neighbor who was a certified mental deficient, and he was a great fisherman. In my defense, as a lousy fisherman, I have to say that he did little else.

The bottom line here is that blacks “cannot perform Western cultural tasks.” The reason they don’t perform well is because they, or a very large cohort among them, CAN’T.

I taught in all-black schools over a period of years. In a typical 11th grade class of ten kids, only two can read. (The reason there are only ten kids in the class is that the other ten never come to class.)

But my friend did make a very telling point: That we are inclined to judge such people as “less than human.”

My reply: “What we partly have here is a moral challenge: We can’t deny someone their human dignity just because they “can’t perform Western culture tasks.” On the other hand, we have to be honest about the reality on the ground: In many (though not all) cases, they “cannot perform Western culture tasks.” This doesn’t mean they aren’t good people or that we wish them any ill. As Mother Theresa replied, when someone asked her how she felt about gay people, “You mean the Beloved Children of God?”
We also can’t allow Western Civilization to be devalued, or even destroyed, by pretending that there is no such thing as objective standards in objective reality, to accommodate people to whom these standards may be incomprehensible. One example of this is the claim that there are no right and wrong answers in mathematics.
We’re going to have to find some way to preserve our love for our fellow man while also preserving our standards of excellence–in math, the sciences, art, music, religion, philosophy, law, literature, and the spoken language.
I remember reading that Edgar Cayce was once asked what ought to be done about the “Negro problem,” and he replied, “He is thy brother.”

          • O.G. Hawkins April 19, 2021 at 7:04 pm #

the claim that there are no right and wrong answers in mathematics.

That is a twist on Orwell. Winston Smith need be taught that 2 + 2 is whatever the State says it is against his logic and his very sanity.

Now we are to believe that all math students should get a check mark regardless of discernible accuracy as long they tried their Best.

          • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 7:57 pm #

Well said, Anthea. The answer is for them to have their own “civilization” or nation. They will naturally devalue or destroy what doesn’t interest them or what they are incapable of.

          • pranah April 20, 2021 at 1:14 am #

@Ishabaka–re: American medical schools having separate admission criteria for blacks–I’m not surprised. When I attended medical school in the late ’70s-early ’80s, we didn’t have a textbook for our psychiatry class, only handouts. I was extremely disappointed as I’d been looking forward to the class, thinking I might go into psych. I asked the instructor (in private) why we didn’t have a book, and he said, “Because some of your classmates can’t read.” I asked if these folks were of the darker persuasion, and he said yes.

I don’t know if the situation’s improved, but that’s a true story from the trenches of professional school. I also recall, while premed, I took a math class and overheard a couple black kids talking–during class, instead of taking notes or attending to the instructor. This one guy told the other he was pulling a C average overall and was going to go to medical school. He might very well have. These were the days, BTW, when the med school I attended would not admit a class made up of 50% women, even though qualified women were applying. A friend who knew someone on the admission committee told her that he (the committee person) wasn’t going to be responsible for admitting 50% women. My alma mater now admits about 50-50 men-women. Times do change.

I think that the black dysfunction is caused by 2 things, mainly, fatherless welfare “families”, and the “WAR on DRUGS”.

        • Tate April 19, 2021 at 12:31 pm #

I do agree that blacks have the ability to have functional families. And they were making progress toward that end until the Great Society intervened.

As far as the “WAR on DRUGS”, would you object if we had a “WAR on MURDER”? Given the huge spike in homicides during 2020, maybe that’s next…

        • abbybwood April 19, 2021 at 3:44 pm #

Watch this Black man at a bar being racially profiled by two white cops:

          https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9SxeKgow2Nk

After they sweat him and forced him to stand and cuffed him even though he was consistently telling them they had the wrong guy, finally they look at his wallet and BOOM! He is an FBI agent.

Funny how he kept saying, “You two are the stupidest motherfuckers I ever knew!”

The change in their behavior when they find out who they cuffed (arrested!) especially as they hand over their cards is priceless.

          • megaculpa April 20, 2021 at 2:00 pm #

The scariest encounter I had with police involved a very large, aggressive black cop during a traffic stop (I’d done a slow coast through a stop sign). This was in Sacramento in the early 1970’s.

        • Tate April 19, 2021 at 4:40 pm #

          @ abbybwood,

The disrespect shown. Uses all sorts of foul language, gets handcuffed, assumes racial profiling, not having anything to do with his own confrontational gangsta style. You see where the line gets drawn, don’t you? Clearly along the racial divide. Because that’s the normal human thing to do, duh.

This is never going to go away, we need separation of our two races to ever return to some semblance of peace & harmony. We can promote all the blacks we want to into positions of authority, it won’t matter.

          • Anthea April 19, 2021 at 4:53 pm #

I’ve known many, many white people who were treated the same way by the police. I have been, myself–though without being cuffed.

I was once driving a carload of teenagers–my daughters and some of their friends–to the bowling alley in a nearby town. I stopped for no reason other than driving slowly trying to find the place, and detained for two hours. Everyone was searched, as was the car. I was repeatedly accused of being drunk. (I rarely drink–almost never–and probably, at the time, had not had a drink in months and showed zero indications of being intoxicated.) When their search came up empty, the cops let us go, with a gratuitous and insulting “Get out of here!”

One of my daughters and her teenage friends were once detained when walking through a park at night, shoved to the ground and held at gunpoint.

This is a cop problem, not a race problem.

          • Tate April 19, 2021 at 5:15 pm #

The two aren’t mutually exclusive, Anthea.

          • Jo-G April 19, 2021 at 8:09 pm #

Like Anthea, I’ve been treated badly by cops- handcuffed and thrown in jail on false charges even. I was a teenager and my disrespectful behavior contributed to the cops bad behavior. I learned a lesson or two. If I was in a racial group where the community leaders were constantly blaming systemic discrimination against my group etc. I would never have learned the lessons and kept getting jailed. The community leaders like Maxine Waters as mentioned in JHK’s article are a big part of the problems. They need the problems- its how they thrive. If their fellow group members thrived they wouldn’t.

          • tully April 20, 2021 at 6:23 am #

Some cops are power tripping assholes; many are decent people. A few months ago, a local policeman was killed in a convenience store shooting. Tributes to the man came from all quarters of the community. In his official department photo, you could see in his eyes he was a good man.

Then there are the assholes. If one has the misfortune to encounter one of them, the only sane response is to be polite, respectful, and do what is asked. Too many blacks and white meth heads fail to do that.

There have not been too many officer shootings here; victims have been white. Drug and booze addled people who snap and become violent.

Where I live is majority white; 84%, with black and hispanic each at 5%. Our BLM protests last summer were daytime peaceful affairs that wrapped up in June. I have high hopes that continues, come what may. Most blacks here are working people who just want a decent life; not on board with burn loot murder at all.

          • Wizard of the Saddle April 20, 2021 at 8:23 am #

This has been obvious to all rational observers of the inherent dysfunctionality of American civilization going all the way back to the early 19th century.

Try to imagine the history of this country, and how much further we would have progressed with less strife and domestic discord, had the negro race never set foot on the shores of North America.

At this point my expectation is that whites will be reduced to a minority as America fully transitions into permanent banana republic status. Then, a rising ruling class of Hispanics will deal with their inherited “negro problem” by ruthlessly suppressing and crushing it. There will be no more affirmative action when it harms guys named Gonzalez or Hernandez. Even a mass genocide of blacks by the new conquistadors could be in cards. They will not be restrained by “Hispanic Guilt” (no such animal), nor will their fellow Hispanics be publishing pap like “Hispanic Fragility.”

The days of BLM terror will be short lived thanks to Open Borders.

            Ironic, isn’t it?

These are the sort of outcomes typically produced by Libtard, micro-brain, emotion-fed, impulse-driven “thinking.”

        • Unperson37854 April 21, 2021 at 4:36 pm #

I agree. I think a lot of commenters on here are falling into the ironically bigoted “progressive” mindset trap that a majority of black people are a monoculture that all think and behave the same and this is somehow a genetic or geographical-origins pre-disposition (or as a leftist might look at it, they are perpetual victims who need white-knighting).

Either way, imo people of African American descent have as much potential as anyone else and many were making strides at achieving that potential BEFORE the civil rights movement even – you have all these AA’s being touted as trail blazers today for having high positions in business and finance or owning their own business as if it never happened before, but that WAS happening before the civil rights movement. Fast-forward to the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and even early 2000’s and they were making great strides [again-despite the ill consequences of welfare], all without the aid of the existence of BLM, activist politicians and in the face of what should’ve been even worse “systemic-racism” (which we all know is BS).

But keep in mind, the Americans (that’s how they should think of themselves and everyone else should think of them) that just so happen to be of African decent, have been the easiest group to exploit by politicians since they were freed from slavery (easy meaning, least effort by the politicians). That’s how you end up with programs that destroy and discourage the nuclear family in black communities and encourage dependence (welfare). That’s why the architects of critical theory deliberately created critical race theory to exploit race and cause division.

So they’re making strides, and then politicians target them for votes and set them back with welfare, and then they’re making strides again and politicians once again target them for votes at the exact same time the cumulative efforts of the long game of marxist-inspired subversion is coming to fruition and you have the perfect storm to not only set them back again, but also f everyone else with poisonous, divisive contempt for your fellow man.

The thing is, there is a large portion of the African American community who see through the communist-inspired BS and see how they’re being exploited. Maybe even half their population. But they don’t get a voice in hollywood or on the MSM or social media. They’re not supposed to exist, but they do.

The likes of Carol Swain, Burgess Owens, John McWhorter, Wilfred Reilly, Jason Reilly, Thomas Chatterton Williams, Coleman Hughes, Glen Loury, Thomas Sowell, Larry Elder, David Harris Junior, Leonydus Johnson, Mike Nificent, Jericho Green, Young Rippa, King Face, Brandon Tatum, Kevin’s Corner, Some Black Guy, Anthony Brian Logan, The Hodge Twins, Zuby, Uncle Hotep, Candace Owens, Jason Whittlock and many, many more are just the tip of the iceberg of those ignored black voices that have a presence online and each with thousands if not tens of thousands of subscribed followers not to mention those who silently support and agree with them.

So just remember, sanity doesn’t care about your race, the sane of any race can be your true ally against the insanity being pushed by the divisive left who’ve fallen for the critical theory con disguised as diversity, equity and inclusion and “anti-racism”.

          • Tate April 22, 2021 at 10:56 am #

I don’t know all those people you mention, but of the ones I do know, they are all well to the right on the American Black distribution for intelligence, in the upper range of the White intelligence distribution. Both in intelligence & temperament, Blacks & Whites (& other races as well) have distinct bell-curves for various personality & intelligence attributes.

And just how many of their issues are the result of white folk?

How are white folk forcing them to get pregnant at age 15?

How are while folk forcing them to drop out of high school and not get an education, thus limiting their future employment picture?

How are white folk forcing them to shoot up their own kid’s birthday parties?

How are white folk forcing them to shoot up their own funerals?

How are white folk forcing them to shame their own that are successful by calling them Uncle Toms?

How are white folk forcing them to hamstring every attempt by the police to address their crime problems by the mantra ‘Snitches Get Stitches?’

Parasites NEVER willingly separate from the host that provides their life sustaining sustenance.

Parasites have to be forcibly separated.

American civilization lacks the clarity, objectivity, intestinal fortitude, and most of all, the sheer WILL to do what must obviously be done, which comes down to total and complete social and political separation.

The problem is that separation would be messy and violent. Today’s Americans are no longer made of the stern stuff that allowed their ancestors to subdue a continent and produce the greatest nation in the history of human civilization……..and so it will perish from the Earth.

America is in hospice. We are merely helpless witnesses to the end of civilization and the inauguration of a new Dark Age.

          • tractorguy April 20, 2021 at 10:14 am #

Tate, I think that a lot of them could succeed, if they would just stop being their own worst enemies. Like Jim has said, refusing to become part of American society, and living by the rules of American society, is the problem, not racism. You may not like it, but when you are in Rome you are going to have to play by Rome’s rules to succeed.

          • Tate April 20, 2021 at 5:01 pm #

Of course they could, tractorguy. But all the hand-wringing in the world won’t change their mindset one iota. The well was poisoned for too long. The chained elephant once released remains in chains.

Let’s stick with the facts – As far as I know, both Blacks and whites communities have not gotten very far in the past 2 decades. Also, Lets not make the black community as the sole litmus test for the success or failure of the American economy. In my view, the American economy has also failed the white Middle class and white working class. This is what the terms RUST BELT, FLYOVER state, all imply. The Ameerican Economy has to get real, physical and national.

Well shucks now they are only doing what YOU voted for, after all this started with Trump as he crawled in his bunker only popping out for a photo op. rather than calling out the military to put it down in fear of losing a few votes.

Did they steal the election probably, but it’s not the first nor probably the last to be stolen?

Are the boys and girls up in congress in on it again probably for they look out for their own turf and pocket and have to check with their 1% benefactors before they know which way to jump.

It’s your fault you let the country get in the shape it’s in always voting for the party or in your mind the lessor of the two evils, so you broke it you fix it and for God’s sake quit the whining.

I speak from a City Centre point of view, malthus. My career took me to most American major city’s downtown/Banking Towers and all of Canada’s major cities.

In all major cities, there are rich enclaves. I’m sure that there are nice parts to Minny & burbs.

As far as my experiences in downtown cores, Atlanta & Minneapolis are shit-holes. Dirty, dangerous, crime-ridden, keep-yer-head-up, can’t walk fast enough to get back to the hotel.

Most American downtown cores are Great.

Urban America is dominated by leftist policies that engender government largesse & dependence– Minneapolis is no different. What is specific to Minnesota is a kind of wannabe/pseudo-Scandinavian social democratic power known as the DFL (Democrat-Farmer-Labor Party), which has controlled politics here for many, many decades.

        descendants of 48ers?

    • Wizard of the Saddle April 20, 2021 at 10:52 am #

Indeed, Mr. Kunstler. And Minneapolis is looking shittier by the day. I feel quite badly for the poor bastards in the police force and national guard who are deployed to serve as target practice dummies for the Wokester mobs.

As the inevitable riots occur, and are NOT put down with brutal force, as they should have been put down, expect to see yet another exodus of disgusted police officers and no doubt many residents.

The only thing that binds middle class people to these shitholes are jobs and family. It is asking a great deal indeed, to expect the middle class citizens, most of whom carry a lot of debt and cannot afford to be jobless for a prolonged period of time, to simply up and quit their jobs, sell their homes (at a loss) and relocate to another town or state, far from family and familiar support networks. Most simply cannot do it.

And so they are trapped, and subject to the depredations of the mob and its elite backers in the corporate and political worlds.

The wealthy, of course, have no such issues. I recently heard about a rich fellow from NYC who came to my small town here in Alabama, and knocked on the door of a local resident who lived in a highly desirable century+ old Victorian home in one of the town’s historic districts. He told the startled homeowner that he would pay double market value for the house in CASH, but that the homeowner must sell to him immediately and move out. After verifying the Yankee city slicker’s financial bona fide she took the offer and went and moved into a beautiful house on the Tennessee River that is worth over a $1M.

So, clearly, the rich have an escape hatch called a fat wallet.

As for the other 99% of the citizenry, we are so totally screwed unless……hmmmm…….perhaps they wake the fuck up and stop voting for these Democrat scum city, county, and state officials.

Of course, some do not, but are simply being outvoted in every election by multiculti’s and their brain-dead white Libtard “allies.”

      • Ron Anselmo April 20, 2021 at 10:24 pm #

Wizard – you’re right about city, county & state officials – the importance of stopping the Blue Cancer there is often overlooked – that’s where it starts.

        • Ron Anselmo April 21, 2021 at 11:49 pm #

Another benefit of staying on top of local politicians, is they can’t hide – no separation & anonymity like at higher political levels.

When I see them in the grocery store, there’s no hidin’ like Biden, and they generally don’t like to see me coming – dress ’em right down, no matter how big the crowd.

Most local politicians know me by now – for better or worse – I’m not the quiet type.

    Greetings,

White Liberalism just so happens to live in the cities and neighborhoods where all of this violence is occurring and have, I guess, decided to decriminalize it.

See, where I lived in California, it was not a crime to just wander into any store and shoplift $950 per day. Throwing open the borders made a mess of things and it is just easier for everyone to pay more at the store so that illegals and the homeless can just steal whatever they need.

Where I lived in California, calling 911 because someone was smashing the windows of your car would get YOU in trouble for tying up the 911 lines. See, someone smashing your windows so as to steal any valuables in your car is NOT an emergency so you must call the non-emergency line and maybe someone will come take a report in a day or two. If you attempt to stop the person destroying your property then that does become a 911 call and you will go to jail.

The white liberals in California just gave up and decided that it was just easier to allow people to live in the streets, do whatever drugs they wished while stealing whatever they want. The elites didn’t care because they live on private guarded streets and behind walls while the rest of us had to deal with the chaos.

Guess what? Those same “rules” will no be applied across the country until such time that vigilantee justice takes over. Then, we’ll see continental wide genocide.

    • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 10:17 am #

Well said and this is in large part why I got the hell out of there.

CA has gone into police state failure mode. Incredibly tragic.

      • NickelthroweR April 19, 2021 at 10:50 am #

        Greetings,

I moved into flyover land two weeks before the lockdowns were enacted. I lived right on the beach in Ventura and the beach is ground zero. See, California is mostly a desert (as you know) with a tiny strip of land along the coast that has perfect weather all year long. Hell, it only even rains once or twice a year. Go inland just 10 miles and you find yourself in a desert and instead of the nice 72 degrees you have at the water’s edge, it is 95 and miserable.

Weather like that brings illegals, homeless, sex offenders and recently released convicts because it is possible to live outdoors and not succumb to the elements like you might in Phoenix or Baltimore. That said, I found myself surrounded by the aforementioned people and it brought the quality of life down quite a bit.

If being surrounded by people with NOTHING to lose doesn’t bother you then the prices in the stores will. Given that it isn’t a criminal offense to steal whatever you wish, those losses must be made up by having the actual law-abiding customers pay for everything that was stolen. This has been working out well so far but as people order more and more online, the ability to keep a brick & mortar market open to the public has become much more difficult. It is how “food deserts” come about because it is hard to maintain that 1-2% profit margin in the face of lawlessness.

California is a failed White Liberal State.

        • O.G. Hawkins April 19, 2021 at 11:46 am #

Shrinkage has always been an issue in retail.

I cannot imagine running a brick & mortar and helplessly watching people snarf my merchandise. That would be a form of Hell for this economist.

        • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 12:03 pm #

I had the nagging feeling that I should get out of CA well before the lockdown. After it? No question. I high-tailed it to Idaho last August, the soonest I could move. You couldn’t pay me to move back there. It’s turning into a massive hell hole. They closed the beach parking lots because of Covid19. So why would I live there any more? They ruined everything that was once good about CA. Yes, a perfect example of a failed liberal state.

          • Ishabaka April 19, 2021 at 12:15 pm #

Ironically, with the fresh air and virus-killing, vitamin D catalyzing sunlight, there is no safer place on land to avoid Covid-19 than the beach.

          • thirdcoastlegend April 19, 2021 at 12:47 pm #

The media waged a ferocious and somewhat successful gaslighting campaign during Spring Break and summer *insisting* that the beaches were Corona death zones.

          • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 7:32 pm #

Ish, completely correct, and in the SF bay area, the beaches are NOT crowded, you don’t get near another person because they are so huge. SO they closed the parking lots to torture us, not because it’s ‘for our own good’.

            That was the last straw.

But the political landscape always gets us confused. DeSantis might be great for Florida today but he won’t be governor forever. With all those moving to Florida from NY and Cali the next election might elect a woke liberal as governor and Florida could become the east coast Cali shithole.

          Frying pan to fire.

Same for Texas. Looks like they could elect Matthew McConahey Gov. there. He is qualified because he played one on TV.

Back in the day, I lived in an Irish working class neighborhood of Boston. Apparently the local thieves would do things like hijack trucks coming out of Gillette HQ, conveniently located in South Boston. Razor blades, lacking any tracking, are apparently very profitable to resell.

My landlord in that area told me how his neighbor had used his phone call to beg him to remove the cache of razor blades hidden under a false bottom in his bedroom closet. The landlord had done so.

There was later a BenAffleck movie made about the area…

I spent a little time in Japan, and remember seeing a liquor store display – quite large – good stuff – stacked somewhat artistically – outside the store, with no one watching it – because naturally, if any Japanese person wanted a bottle, they would go inside and pay – everyone knew that.

          • Tekapo April 19, 2021 at 4:14 pm #

Same in Italy, France, and Spain … often very attractive displays of wine and other alcohol outside or at the front of stores. It seems safe enough.

In fact there is generally a lack of overt security measures, and very few obvious police. I concede this is in touristy and upscale areas – out in the wilder suburbs of Rome or Barcelona it might be tougher.

The biggest hazard for tourists are pickpockets on or near public transport or crowded streets – that is really rife, and so many tourists are laughably casual about their wallet or purse..

          • Jo-G April 19, 2021 at 8:33 pm #

Here in ROK it’s like that now where you don’t really have to watch out for thieves. Some older Americans here say its like going back to 1950’s America in that respect. But, it could be like this in America. The last time I was back where I was born in a rural area of America I brought fruit at a roadside stand. The prices were marked, the scale was on the table next to the cash box. Never saw the owner. We weighed our goods, did the arithmetic, made change from the cash box and went on our way. It wasn’t just the expectation of honesty but also the expectation that you could do simple arithmetic and make change accurately. This must have been 2013 or so. I hope those roadside stands are still there next time I visit.

I visited San Francisco in 2017 I think. I went into the city twice, once downtown among the tall buildings for a Sunday brunch meeting and another time we stopped of at some farmers market kind of place on a pier. Both stops might have been the same day but with the car trip it seemed like two different visits. I don’t recall anything disgusting as you describe. Pretty sure if there is a recall election it will part of the ballot yes or no to recall then the hundred or more candidates will have a vote and if Newsom loses recall and one candidate gets 51% of vote he/she will become governor. November 2021.

Otherwise if Newsom is recalled the top two vote receivers will face a run-off in 2022 provided no one wins a majority.

Obviously if Newsom wins recall he will stay on.

I’m noticing how suddenly restaurants and schools are re-opening and everything is coming up roses here.

As soon as the recall effort got the requisite number of signatures, Newscum started opening things up.

I’m guessing if he wins, things will slam shut again, as a new ‘variant’ will be found or somesuch.

They can keep lying about the numbers all day long, since there is no entity really keeping track, and the CDC just fudges and uses unscientific means to measure and track and test.

I visited the Idaho capital building in the 1990’s. State legislators were paid $8,000 per year and they had no offices or staff — just seats in the house. They met for about a month each year — in the winter because many of the legislators were farmers. I seriously considered moving there.

So, Americans who went to school for the right kind of degrees, the STEM ones, so they could get better paying jobs, might conceivably find themselves unable to pay back the student loans they needed to get the degrees they had to have for the good paying jobs, because they are paying too much for the basics to live where those jobs are?

I actually know a number of people who fell into that category after the most recent real estate bubble and crash, but when you mention student loan debt reform everyone starts screaming about people who took basket weaving instead of becoming a plumber.

Nickelthrower – Yes we will see continental wide killing. No doubt about it. In legal circles there is a euphemism for this: Self Help.

It’s what otherwise law abiding people do when the Law turns into an Ass and miscreants are allowed to rape, pillage, murder, and burn with little or no sanction while the innocent, the weak, the powerless, and the law abiding people suffer without legal recourse.

Honestly, the handwriting is on the wall and we’ve seen this play before in shithole countries like Zimbabwe, South Africa, Venezuela, etc.

Americans are not buying AR’s, shotguns, and pistols and ammo faster than the gun and ammo manufacturers can turn out product because 3-gun competitions have suddenly become our new national sporting pastime. Americans are arming up to DEAL WITH these scum when the time comes for people with common sense grab the national steering wheel and kick our Libtard Overlords out of the door and onto the pavement.

Extremely well-articulated regarding the liberals’ failure with regard to raising the standards of black Americans. Got to give them an E for effort though. All those programs, all those billions of dollars, only to watch it devolve into BLM violence against our very infrastructure. So they have no choice but to support it. What a trap they set for themselves. As you say, sadly, everyone else has to suffer for it as well.

Maxine Waters has always been a whacko, and now she seems exponentially unhinged and even dangerous. I have no hopes the wokies in the Dem party will rein her in though.

Should ‘malign’ be ‘malignant’ here? : I would explain it as the malign influence of neurotic white liberalism acting on the aforesaid black ambivalence about joining in or remaining apart from that common culture.

    • malthuss April 19, 2021 at 10:31 am #

      This is from Takis Mag,

One idea currently growing in popularity inside the Beltway is that perhaps the best way to implement a (*cough*) “equitable” reparations plan is to simply excuse black folks from paying taxes.

As delineated by Dorothy Brown, a law professor at Emory, “My first choice for race-based reform would be a refundable tax credit…. Under this plan, Congress would assign a single fixed credit to all black taxpayers. A reparations credit is the final piece of closing the black-white wealth gap.” [gee, can I claim to be Black on my form?]

Over at the Brookings Institution, senior fellow Janet Holtzblatt and research assistant Noah Zweifel—two people who, based on their names, are very likely getting those monthly Hitler checks—argue that using tax laws in the service of reparations is a jim-dandy idea, although they agree that blacks might not be satisfied with anything other than direct cash payments.

Kvetchberg and Schlemielenbaum don’t explain exactly why they think blacks will prefer cash over tax credits, but it almost certainly has to do with the disproportionately high number of black Americans who are non-filers.

If you don’t file, things like rebates and credits become irrelevant. As it is, leftist institutions are currently struggling to make sure that the millions of black non-filers get their Covid checks, lest those who don’t pay in suffer the ignominy of not receiving a payout.

      • Disaffected April 19, 2021 at 10:45 am #

LOL! In that case I see a booming industry in doctored genetic analysis emerging to attest to the fact that a lot of apparently full-blooded white people have black ancestors. What the hell, we’re all black now!

        • ThorsHammer April 19, 2021 at 12:20 pm #

          Grey, not Black or White.

If you want to see a really Black person, go to St. Lucia. There are entire family lines that have never been polluted with Plantation Overseer genes. Black is Beautiful along with Brown and pale White, and even Grey like Halle Berry, often cited as the most beautiful woman in the world,

Now Woke— that is a genetic disaster that I have trouble finding beauty in.

          • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 2:14 pm #

In other words, Blacks are bad because part White? Or that pure breeds are better cuz with mixes you can get the worst of both, not the best?

    • Lars April 19, 2021 at 11:01 am #

An interesting grammar question you pose in your last paragraph, Mary. The dictionary says you can “malign” someone or be described as “malign” or “malignant.” Oddly enough, you can’t “benign” someone, but you can be “benign” or “benignant.”

If more people concerned themselves with grammar, there would be fewer riots in this country.

I will walk back that “censured” line.

The irony of this situation is incredible. Anyone remember that Trump was impeached because he was inciting “his followers “ to rebel? Yet Maxine can incite a crowd to mayhem if they don’t like the verdict. No problem.

Remember when Trump was Hitler when he was begging the mayors & governors to call in the national guard to stop the riots in Seattle & Portland? Well they’re already in place for the verdict.

Call me old-fashioned but even though I read about this scenario, I seriously doubt I, or the rest of the world, will accept it. It reminds me of the wild opening scene in the movie “Dawn of the Dead.” where a pundit in a TV news show calls for a Nuclar attack on an American city in order to kill the zombies!! If I remember my history correctly, when the Boers collided with the Zulus, the Zulus were migrating from the North, part of a long historic migration of the Bantu. So it could be said that both groups were relatively “new.”

The only really “native” people were the Bushmen or San as they call themselves. They were picked upon by everyone. In recent times, the present government expelled them from their native lands. The discovery of diamonds there may have had something to do with it.

When will this stop?” The last time I checked, Chinese fentanyl and carfentanil were being imported to the USA by the US Postal Service. As a nurse I used to apply Fentanyl patches every three days to patients in hospice who had intractable pain from cancer etc.

They had built a resistance to the drug over time so they tolerated it.

We were strictly warned to wear gloves when handling either a new or used patch because on an average person one little touch of the pad could OD you!

How there could possibly be a drug that much stronger than Fentanyl is sick. And it becomes clear why so many OD on it who are street users.

My favorite part of this piece is in paragraph six- that phrase “neurotic white liberalism”.

Speaking of neurotic whites, doesn’t a prospective justice being asked about a case still under investigation, proclaiming that she and her children collapsed in grief over the alleged victim’s fate, tend to taint any future prosecution?

Does that family get emotional hearing of every death of every random person that may or may not end up being prosecutable?

That must be very tiring, if that’s the case.

SW, I keep pointing out to people that the vast majority of black Americans are not involved in this.

If you look back to somewhere like Ferguson, for instance, they had to import most of the rioters, and bring in Al Sharpton, whose specialty is stirring up race division, he was hired by the white-owned MSM to do just that.

As for the average negro in the street believing that police are killing blacks and not whites, I know very educated white people who have fallen for the “Trump put kids in cages” story line, and still remain convinced, so I can’t say I can blame people of the working to lower middle class just struggling like everyone else to get by, for not going out of their way to confirm or refute what they see on TV.

      • SW April 19, 2021 at 10:49 am #

I just finished reading a book I highly recommend The Warmth of Other Suns by Isabelle Wilkerson. She follows three families who left the south during Jim Crow and how their lives turned out. They all wanted what we all want — decent living arrangements, education, safety and to be treated with dignity. In no way do I minimize what they went through to get to this level of success.

Why so many failed and what went wrong is hard to pinpoint. How this can be addressed and, hopefully, turned around — well, no one seems to have any ideas, myself included.

        • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 11:21 am #

What I’ve seen is the grandchildren of people who already succeeded in those measures turning around and heading the other way.

Not in every case. certainly, but it’s still shocking to see.

I have a lot of opinions on what went wrong, but one of the major reasons I voted for a man who I originally saw as as an insufferable showoff symbolizing everything wrong with the excesses of the 1980s is because he started offering ideas about what created these conditions that made sense to me.

Black Americans by and large used to approve of Donald Trump if they had any opinion, moreso than whites did.

Hence the campaign to paint him as a white supremacist icon.

          • SW April 19, 2021 at 12:15 pm #

I never really understood where they got the white supremacist label. He was very much against Mexican immigration and said some inflammatory and egregious things (sorry, but he crossed the line plenty of times) but I never heard of any evidence of discrimination against the black community. Maybe I missed something.

The black community has some valid grievances and there was discrimination against them strictly for skin color. This has been acknowledged and the segregation has ceased but it left some deep scars and resentments. MLK understood if there was to be real integration, we’d have to get past that and build a future — “we live together as brothers or we perish together as fools.”

Unless some leaders of his caliber emerge in the black community and people such as Waters and Al Sharpton are disavowed, I don’t see how we’ll not perish together as fools.

          • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 12:24 pm #

Naw, MLK was a communist who would have loved all this. HIs pacifism was strictly tactical, a resounding success given the sentimental corruption of Whites. Now it’s time for violence since Whites are even weaker than they were.

Yes, Trump wanted to be the new Lyndon Johnson, putting Blacks even more above Whites with his “platinum plan”. As for Whites, he almost never mentioned us. A strange kind of White Supremacism indeed.

          • SW April 19, 2021 at 1:05 pm #

I guess we’ll not be able to agree on MLK. I don’t think he was a saint but he was instrumental in getting the Civil Rights Bill passed and segregation had to end. I don’t see how that makes him a Communist.

          • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 1:27 pm #

Because he was a member of the Communist Party and race mixing is a Communist agenda. Why? Because it destroys nations. Google the etymology of “nation” and tell me what you find.

          • MaryV April 21, 2021 at 12:11 pm #

One of my black friends is a huge Trump fan. I am not, but we discussed why she liked him. She said, he’s funny, and he gets things done. She also said she liked that he wasn’t a pro-war type.

Most people don’t know much about Trump. I’m not a fan of any politicians, really, but pretty much everything the media says about Trump is a lie.

Lots of people considered themselves progressive for voting for Hillary Clinton. She was against gay marriage until 2012 when politically forced to change. Trump actually criticized her for it as far back as 2002!

You can’t teach a liberal, though.

        • abbybwood April 19, 2021 at 5:59 pm #

I did well and excelled in college because I had a home to return to (not a cold, drafty house with no mom, no dad, maybe a crack head Aunt and her current dealer?).

I walked into a house with a strict grandma making cookies. Lots of good food on the table, big jugs of milk in the frig. I had a quiet private room to study with all the paper and pencils and pens I needed. I had my intelligent mom and dad and grandma there to ask questions. We watched shows together as a family like “Password” and “Wild Kingdom”.

I had decent clothes and a warm, secure bed to sleep in.

These are the reasons I excelled.

Little ones, regardless of skin color or genetic lineage will mostly do well with secure, intelligent environments and love and laughter. Lots of love and laughter. The honey of humanity.

I truly weep for the innocent seven year old Black girl in a MacDonalds drive-through in Chicago. She believed she would get a Happy Meal and a new toy with some chocolate milk.

Instead she was assassinated for no reason.

Having grandchildren the same age makes me see her and my grandkids as the same innocent, beautiful souls.

ALL the children on Earth deserve better in 2021.

Like the poor nine year old illegal immigrant left abandoned by the “adults” he trusted. It is heart-wrenching to hear him sobbing in the desert of Texas to the Border Control Agent, “Can you help me?!”

          It’s all SFU.

Your early home life sounds almost identical to my own. Two parent household with a stay at home mom until my brother and I were a little older, then we had a nanny, maid during the work week for a short while. I remember the old tv shows well. I loved the old variety shows, Ed Sullivan and such. Johnny Carson late on the weekends and bedtime on Sunday night was right after Bonanza. You are right saying that all children deserve the same loving, caring home life. I fear that U.S. culture is suffering due to lots of different things and wholesale immigration from the turd world isn’t helping. The culture will devolve to the lowest common denominator. The children dying from thug gunfire and kids left to fend for themselves in the desert are not only heart breaking but also enraging, and we are importing people who would do this to their own children.

          • Ron Anselmo April 20, 2021 at 9:40 am #

@cbeard – *Edit: “will devolve” —> “has been devolving”. There, better now.

          • SW April 20, 2021 at 10:36 am #

Until the values return that you described, the edge of the cliff will get closer. And you don’t have to be rich to have this kind of home life but the parents do need to be mature, responsible and feel secure in their ability to provide a good home for their family.

And turn off the TV. The shows you mentioned are no longer on the air — they’ve been replaced with violent “crime” shows, idiots competing for the love of money, and sitcoms full of sexual innuendo.

And if Grandma is a nice person, bring her back. Multigenerational homes are good for the kids.

It is heartbreaking to see children who in no way could take care of themselves dropped over a fence in the middle of the night and the video of that little boy crying in the desert was terrible.

          • Yohannon April 20, 2021 at 12:21 pm #

Yup, this is why we are doomed. Their children matter as much (more to many Whites!) as our children. They have way more of them. Thus they will conquer.

Abby’s post show why women shouldn’t be voting.

Some black scholars such as Shelby Steele and John McWhorter have been warning about this for years. Both are critical of CTR and saw the writing on the wall years ago. Of course, both are in academia so could see it creeping up.

Heck, this year I saw black people campaigning for Trump.

Putting all black people in the same basket is as silly as putting all white people in the same basket, bottom line.

It’s a class issue more than a race issue, IMHO.

        • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 12:28 pm #

          CTR? You mean CRT?

That’s now how power works. Groups working together will triumph over individuals. Whites working together took North America from the Indians. Whites by themselves or in isolated cabins on farms often got slaughtered.

The Elite have worked very hard to inculcate the cult of individualism among middle class Whites – something they don’t follow needless to say.

          • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 8:29 pm #

Yes CRT. Thanks for the correction.

See Richard Pryor. Probably one of the best & funniest culturally embedded black comedians of all time. Loved by blacks almost to a one, because he spoke their language and had an intimate understanding of their culture.

If you think back, he was probably the very first victim of cancel culture – but not by blacks – he was crucified by white liberal elites, telling him that he couldn’t use the N-word or stereotype blacks.

Perfect example of white liberal elites telling blacks what’s good for them, because they know best. Shame on the blacks for not coming to his defense, preserving their culture. They let it happen.

Richard Pryor – one of the best comedic geniuses ever.

It’s all well and good to stick a Black Lives Matter sign in your yard and to claim that you don’t mind hip hop music, but altogether another thing when your small business is sacked or your neighborhood burned out.

Few enough people of any political persuasion are okay with those things that it was entirely predictable that Trump would handily win at the polls last November.

More of the same for the next four summers will certainly assure that America’s other rotten party re-take the Oval Office, unless the voting process is so compromised that manipulation of the ballot box becomes an insuperable advantage for the Democrats.

    It has come to this.

If the China Ascendant prophesy is true (and who knows, they have their own internal problems) we at least won’t have to deal with getting mau-maued too much longer. Asians are under no illusions about race. Not only that, but the liberal fantasy about a multicultural coalition is just that, a fantasy. The Hispanic demographic replacement has already led to all kinds of ethnic cleansing on the West Coast and in the Southwest. The ironic thing is that malevolent whitey was the only one who bent over backwards to accommodate black grievances, and now that White America is in its twilight, the black underclass has no one left to indulge or excuse their pathologies.

    • wolfbay April 19, 2021 at 11:02 am #

About 10 years ago we visited Venice beach before it was engulfed by homeless people. We were walking by a high school with students out in the yard and one area had the Hispanic students and the black students were totally separated and all the whites must have been in private schools. I concluded that diversity is not our strength.
Indian, Chinese and Korean immigrants are wildly successful compared to native black Americans so why not blame them.

Diverticulitis is a strength! I’ve lived in LA all my life. Venice has always had a homeless problem but homelessness is now spreading into wealthier areas and people are getting pissed. Boohoo. Blacks and Latinos in LA have always been divided here. A new phenomenon is homeless people walking on the freeway. 3x this month I’ve seen guys traversing the center of the Hollywood Freeway or casually walking in the right slow lane parallel to traffic. Never before have I seen this. The tented homeless camps are enormous now. It feels like this city is rotting it’s very distressing.

MaryV–I have been in San Diego since 1987. In the last decade, it has gotten much much worse. The Convention Center is an approved illegal encampment.

Homeless and addicts are everywhere. There are crimes all the time, and the perpetrators are identified, but the police do nothing (Nickelthrower is right).

There is trash everywhere, to include the human kind in our parks, and on our streets. They fill up the San Diego river with trash.

@Ricechex that is a shame. So, basically all the major CA cities have been liberally trashed (pun intended).

    • Jo-G April 19, 2021 at 9:19 pm #

“Asians are under no illusions about race.” I was just in Seoul and saw signs in English advocating for diversity and cultural change. They need workers their birthrate is low. For the first time I saw and heard multiple people talking on their cell phones on the subway. It used to be very very rare behavior. Then I saw a sign in English on the platform about the rules. Instead of prohibiting specific activities they had a blanket “Don’t bother other riders” rule. In a muti-cultural context this is basically no rule at all. You can identify Americans who are new in country on the train by how the carry on loud conversations amongst themselves while everyone else is quite or only talks in whispers. Now that consensus that loud conversations are bothersome to your fellow riders will disappear as the Koreans are being asked to submit to foreign customs. Just two years ago I was in a class with one goal being to teach foreigners living in country about Korean customary behavior. It was paid for by the Korean government. They wanted foreigners to adopt to their lifestyle. Now it looks like they’re asking their citizens to adapt to living with what they’ve always considered obnoxious behaviors. The country is changing so rapidly that I might live to see Koreans accepting all America’s current social ills as “Part and Parcel of life in the 21st century.”

  16. O.G. Hawkins April 19, 2021 at 10:36 am #

Ideologically, the USA is, indeed, evenly split. Ye shall reap what ye has sewn and you have sewn a 2-party system. Frick v Frack. Tweedle-Dee & Tweedle-Dum. Abbott & Costello.

Practically, however, I believe that a large percentage of white Americans are dear frozen in the headlights.

You have to hand it to the DNC.

They are about to pack the Senate with four more Democrats from D.C. and Puerto Rico and after Joe said it was a bone-headed idea to pack the Supreme Court he has now set up a “Commission” (rubber stamp group) to add four new Justices. Even the Queen they so mourned a few months ago said changing the court would be “a terrible idea”.

Add to this the Democrats power over our elections, especially if HR 1 passes and takes how elections are run from the states and basically federalizes them, it will be game over for Republicans. This is a coup.

They have even baked into HR 1 making it harder for 3rd parties to qualify in national elections.

All of this happened after Hillary and the DNC got their asses handed to them and the resulting psychotic hissy-fit the Dems and their media whores threw over the past four years have brought us to this point.

I still don’t believe Joe Biden won the election. Just last week he made a stop somewhere and there were three people who showed up to support him. Big tech is even helping The White House throw out all the thumbs downs Biden is getting on public zoom appearances. Add to this the Big Tech censorship.

The American people are being played, White, Black, Brown and all in between.

My question is this: What can be done to snap Americans out of their stupor before it is too late? Maybe it is too late now.

      • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 8:37 pm #

Until black people give up on a political party that they have been following for almost 60 years, with no measurable progress for the majority of it’s members socially and economically, they will not get anywhere. Anybody who is always preaching what the government will do and no mention of self discipline, the importance of family, thrift, and self improvement, is not anybody’s friend or ally. Not all black people buy into the Democratic party, but that is what is portrayed in the MSM. Black peoples culture is failing them, not white supremacy holding them down.

    • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 12:33 pm #

A people’s culture is a reflection of them. And many of the Blacks who succeed and could assimilate, refuse to do so. They simply don’t want to. They want their own thing.

Whites don’t want to accept the Fact: It’s already decided. Blacks have chosen.

And you can’t have more than one large culture in a given country. That like having more than one mind in a body – madness.

Note two events in the past 24 hours:

In Chicago, 11 year old girl shot to pieces inside a car with her father at a MacDonalds drive thru. A random assassination, or a targeted hit, nobody knows. Actually it was a pretty quiet weekend in Chi, with only about 20 people shot.

In NYC, a young black man from Bridgeport, Ct throws a container of bleach into the face of a police officer during a traffic stop, speeds away, then tosses a molotov cocktail at other cops pursuing him.

With this kind of activity literally happening daily across the country, any kind of reconciliation between law enforcement and ‘The Community’ is impossible.

Annd at Yale yesterday ‘Defund the Police’ a rally, by which they mean NHPD and Yale Campus Police. What a joke, New Haven being the dangerous crime pit that it is. A few black speakers shouting revolutionary slogans with their fists in the air, but also a few of the speakers were young coeds, attractive, showing a lot of skin on the warm spring day, tearfully saying how “unsafe” they felt at the sight of a campus police officer at Yale ahahahahaha ahahahaha.

The shootings have to be false flags.

This is not a hard conclusion to come to, once you understand that our gov’t historically has no problem blowing up buildings full of children, etc.

Psychos are in charge, and we are naught but collateral damage.

They want to disarm us, so the shootings will continue until they can get general consensus.

      • thirdcoastlegend April 19, 2021 at 11:32 am #

The shootings are being ramped on Obama’s orders so that they can ram through legislation canceling the Second Amendment and start openly grabbing guns via the ATF or a similar federal agency.

        • butter56 April 19, 2021 at 11:48 am #

The problem with that is that they don’t have the manpower to disarm the public. The entire US Marine Corp would not have been able to enforce the old 55 mph speed limit. It does not take a majority of people ignoring a law to make it a failure, only a large plurality. If the ATF started by disarming and deporting MS-13, i might be more inclined to turn in my Ar-15. But they don’t have the balls to do that.

” But they don’t have the balls to do that.”

Within these high crime areas are a lot of people — black, white, new Asian immigrants — who can not escape b/c they can’t afford to move. Those are the ones I feel pity for.

One core of Marxism is the underclass’s feeling of entitlement to take away property from the upperclass. IOW, redistribution of the wealth is a legal issue.

Their number one obstacle is the US Constitution which was created to protect the property rights of US citizens. The Constitution must be removed as the motivation for our culture before the Marxists can take over. The Supreme Court must be made into a rubber stamp for the Marxists, yep, on the agenda. I will protect my property from stealing by force if necessary. Yep, gun control on the agenda. There are Black elements that are trying to get the government to take property from Whites and give it to Blacks, legally.

Do not kid yourself, this is an internationally funded attempt at destroying the US uniqueness with its Constitution, labeled Marxism.

        I call it legalized thievery.

The identity politics are what they will use to remove sections of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They’ve already removed the 4th and 5th Amendments using Covid19, and they are working on making ‘hate speech’ illegal, which would get rid of the right to free speech. It’s an all-out attack from many fronts.

JohnAZ: I love it. “Legalized Thievery”

American politics and culture are now driven by an oxymoron.

Of course, this is nothing new. Our blacks learned how to do this by watching Robert Mugabe’s ZANU-PF thugs do it in Rhodesia…..now called Zimbabwe.

Ask any former white Rhodesian farmer who went through the Bush War, the Great Betrayal, the Hyperinflation (twice!), and the murderous farm invasions. All of this madness was driven by two forces: (1) Black racism against Whites and (2) Pure greed and an insatiable desire to expropriate as much property from white people as possible.

I will keep saying it until the cows come home: If you want to fully comprehend what the Wokesters of BLM have in mind for white Americans, one need only study the history of Rhodesia/Zimbabwe since 1960 to the present. It is a sordid tale and a cautionary one at that. But you have to read the memoirs and blogs of the white Rhodesians who passed through those trials. The MSM and conventional historians do nothing but LIE about what really went down in Rhodesia, and then in South Africa.

And in NYC the punch out game is growing in popularity.

        • Wizard of the Saddle April 21, 2021 at 10:52 am #

Abby: What is particularly interesting about the punch out game is the manifest cowardice of the practitioners. They always target people who are smaller and weaker than they are. I have yet to read a single news report or view a single video of one of these overgrown baboons sucker punching a white guy who is 6’3” and built like Arnold Schwarzenegger. It just doesn’t happen.

Like all thugs and bullies, they pick on little old ladies, wispy young girls, frumpy middle-aged office gals, frail old men, small wimpy men, kids, etc.

Add totally stupid gun laws to the mix that make it impossible for these targeted victims to level the playing field by engaging in concealed carry of a firearm and what you end up with is a city that is unsafe for 99% of the general public to live in.

This is why there is a mass exodus out of NYC by all who can afford to bug out of there.

My advice: When you move – make sure you move to a free state that defends gun rights. Like the saying goes: God created man. Samuel Colt made this equal.

I was living in East Haddam, CT back in 2007 and a Yale grad lawyer I knew invited me into NYC to attend some talk at The Yale Club.

I thought I would be smart and valet my car at a swank hotel near Yale then cab it to the train.

Around 2 am the cab dropped me in front of the swank hotel near Yale and immediately two Black thugs started sweating me while I waited for my car. Luckily the doorman came out when I screamed for help and the thugs ran off as my car came up.

I had more luck later taking the train from Mass. down to Penn Station in 2008. Walked straight up from the train to a cab and to Carnegie Deli or wherever.

Am in L.A. now and I hear there are homeless and drug addicts littering Penn and Carnegie Deli is closed.

There are places in flyover land; smaller cities generally. City Data can be useful for demographic info.

The catch is a lot of folks who have spent their lives on the coasts just don’t like the area. A four season climate with heat and humidity in summer; cold in the winter. We have tornadoes, which seem to scare the bejeebus out of folks who are quite sanguine about earthquakes. Perplexing; at least tornados give warning they are coming, earthquakes not so much. There is not as much of the spectacular natural beauty found on the west coast, although plenty of more subdued beauty.

Smaller cities lack all the amenities of larger ones. But with so much shut down the past year, and possibly never coming back, perhaps people are less concerned about that.

We have the immigration act of 1965 to blame for the destruction of the common culture. When we had a less diverse country we were able to accomplish a lot and compromise when we disagreed. Since then, those who have come here of their own free will have joined the descendants of former slaves in their hostility to that common culture. We, of course, were clueless to the demographic change happening slowly around us. Like the proverbial frog being slowly boiled, we went on blissfully with our lives of happy motoring. The tipping point was reached about the time of Bush the 2nd. The demographic shift and the completion of the long march through the institutions of the radical left was complete. Nothing foreseeable is going to stop that momentum. Whites are slated to become a minority in the next two decades. Even the corporate shift in attitudes reflect this. They know where their bread will be buttered in the future. Or at least they think they do. The problem is that the new majority has a poor track record of building and maintaining modern civilization.

China goal is to take over the world with their economic strength and form of politics.

            Precisely.

The insouciant American Empire has spent the past 50 years giving away our productive capacity and knowledge to the PRC under the delusion that handing them these priceless gifts would turn them into the Chinese States of America.

The CCP, being intensely Ideologically committed, well understood the idea that, “…the capitalists will sell us the rope we use to hang them…”

Butter56: This is correct. Again, I refer readers here to study what happened in Rhodesia between 1980, (when Mugabe’s ZANU-PF Communist black majority took over the government and renamed the country Zimbabwe), and today.

Over the past 41 years they have completely – and I that is no exaggeration – COMPLETELY destroyed the economy and the infrastructure of this once very well-developed, productive, and orderly country. The former “breadbasket of Africa” now exists in a state of perpetual famine, requiring annual food aid from Western countries to avoid mass starvation. Electricity and running water are almost completely absent from daily life. Roads have crumbled into moonscapes with thousands of potholes. Democracy replaced by tyranny. A stable currency replaced with Zim Dollars that the population uses as a substitute for non-obtainable toilet paper. The list of breakdowns in modern civilization there goes on and on. The place is a total wreck.

This too will be America’s future if we do not change course radically and very soon.

  22. Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 11:02 am #

I went to school with large numbers of black kids.
When people look a inner city areas where a lot of blacks live, they don’t see they large numbers of people who did well, joined the middle class, and went up, up and away, just as many of my white classmates did.

It’s more striking with blacks because it’s much easier to see.

“What’s actually at issue here is whether black people in America really want to join with the other ethnic groups present in the land in a national common culture”

We already did that. Why do you think we are seeing all the woke attacks, first on the NFL, the NBA, and now on MLB?

Those things were our common culture, and males in particular, of the age that you see fighting in the streets when there is unrest, enjoyed those things in common.

Those patriotic displays? Would it surprise anybody to learn that blacks, who joined the military in large numbers as a means of raising themselves and their families up, in many instances, are also patriotic and enjoyed the songs and flyovers and pageantry too?

That’s just one of the more obvious areas where we were already “there” and had been for a long time.

I have mentioned before, at Halloween, the numbers of black parents from the higher crime neighborhoods showing up at my door. Dads as well as mothers, teaching their little ones to say thank you after receiving their treats.

If they had any problem with white people they wouldn’t be bringing their little ones to a majority white street.

    This is reality.

What also is reality is that if you go into the black neighborhoods that are not thriving, you will find white people who joined the underclass there in a common culture.

    • JohnAZ April 19, 2021 at 11:36 am #

The basis of Black culture, their majority, still remains behind. A real conundrum does exist here, what to do when successful Blacks escape from the cesspools. Most of them are accepted by the areas they move into. They are much better treated by their new neighbors than by the remainder of the Blacks. They are Uncle Toms or Oreos.

Know what the Indians of Arizona called the Indians that worked with the Anglos? Tontos.

    • elysianfield April 19, 2021 at 11:53 am #

“What also is reality is that if you go into the black neighborhoods that are not thriving, you will find white people who joined the underclass there in a common culture.

      Beryl,
In this you are essentially correct. The Whites in difficult neighborhoods will adopt the culture of the underclass…if allowed to…the women usually allowed… the men rarely.

    • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 12:43 pm #

This is desperate special pleading. It’s already decided. They don’t want
to join us. And to let individuals do so would be to court more treason in the future. Anomalies exist but their characters are not passed down to their children.

    • Wizard of the Saddle April 21, 2021 at 11:09 am #

Beryl. I do not dispute these anecdotes. I have had similar experiences and attended a high school in the 1970’s that was 1/3 black, 1/3 Hispanic, and 1/3 white.

But it changes nothing. The Al Sharptons, the BLM goons, the Maxine Waters of the “black community” are in charge. And in majority black congressional districts they elect socialist minded thugs who then serve for life, like African dictators.

My estimate is that you have about 15% of blacks who might be of a mind to integrate into the mainstream (white) culture and participate in the American civilizational project with honor and integrity.

The remaining 85% embrace the black separatist mindset and ghetto culture and are all about hating whitey, to one degree or another, and looking for opportunities to expropriate wealth from him using the power of government as a mean of forcible transfer.

Other minorities also participate in the socialist scams to a high degree, with the possible exception of East Asians who value excellence and achievement.

      This is reality.

  23. Bill of Rights April 19, 2021 at 11:07 am #

“The script for all this prevails because liberalism cannot otherwise explain its own failure to uplift black America over many years of sedulous striving.”

They as a group are children who have never had to face real hardship to mature as a culture. The nanny state is always there to bail them out.

Trump tried to make things more equal between the races. He was pilloried for trying to level the playing field.

      • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 12:39 pm #

Blacks have already been put over us. Trump wanted to give them even more things they don’t deserve.

        • Wizard of the Saddle April 21, 2021 at 11:14 am #

Yohannon – You are correct about Trump on that score. Trump rightly concluded that neither political party intends to ever pay off the national debt and balance the budget. Both parties realize that the country is going bankrupt and that there is no going back.

Realizing this, Trump figured that he may as well beat the Democrats at their own game by using borrowed Chinese money to bribe black voters to vote for him. It was a cynical, but logical strategy, but it didn’t work.

Like most Yankees, Trump really does not understand black culture and the black mindset. It is all about RACE, all of the time. So there was no mass shift of black votes to Trump, though he did manage to achieve some small, incremental erosion of black votes away from the Dems, but that will not last even one election cycle.

At this point the Free Shit Army veterans sense that they are on the brink of total victory and a Rhodesia style mass-looting of the country is within their grasp.

They will go for all the marbles now.

Yohannon should be dancing a Irish Jig today. When I started reading the blog, I was put off by his antipathy about the Blacks.

No longer, the Blacks have proven him correct. They have had every opportunity, no every advantage to compete in the American system. It is their own limitations, their own culture that keep them locked up in a world of dysfunction.

Do they have the right to isolate themselves from the American culture?

    Yes!

Do they have the right to distort the American culture to lower it to their level, absolutely not. If they do not fit, like all sorts of predecessors throughout history, they need to seek their own level elsewhere. Using force to drive society to their level is criminal. Our culture is the Supreme law of the land, stemming from the Constitution, the Supreme law of the land.

The real criminals here are the White liberals that give them carte Blanche, pun intended, to run amok, actually encourage it. The liberal majority have given the Blacks permission to drive for dissolution of the country.

By the way, White Supremacy, the buzz word for the American culture based on law, has been bandied about for three generations now for the failure of the Black culture.

Wrong!! Wrong!! The rise of Black majority governments in the cities being unable to change things in the Black community is proof positive of the fallacy. Money, affirmative action, food stamps, tolerating criminality and the drug culture, letting criminals out of jail, defunding the cops, nothing, nothing has improved the lot of the Black majorities living in the urban world. Nothing works. All the academic sociologists have not improved the Blacks self image, their ambition, their drive to improve.

No wonder they are Marxist, they want the government to take care of them, as it always has. Children need to grow up one day.

The answer, put them all in an environment where their handicap does not make any difference, overseas maybe. That was Jefferson’s and Lincoln’s answer. Partial success created Liberia. As that will probably not happen, two domestic solutions come to mind. First is isolation to a geographic area, maybe the South. The problem with that is a substandard state will exist on the American border. Are we ready to build another wall? Second is the only solution I think will work. Remove all forms of advantage the Blacks enjoy today which encourages their nanny state. Put them to survival level welfare, make them compete with Whites, Browns, and Asians equally. Make them join the common culture as a necessity. Make them swear allegiance to the America that provides them sustenance. And big time, cut off George Soros funding of the Democratic Party and the anarchy movements encouraging the violent criminal emerging right now.

Solutions? Maybe? Coming any time soon? Not on your life! The future of our culture depends on it. Any more suggestions?

John, you see it quite clear … but now, “Look up!”

Why such hate for the South. Most of us born and raised Southerners love our home. So, as for relocating them all down South. all I can say is Fuck you. Sorry, but I got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Actually, I would like to rescind that apology. Your comment wasn’t the first time I have seen it on this site, and every time I see it it makes my blood boil.

      • JohnAZ April 19, 2021 at 1:31 pm #

I do not think it is hate for the South, but the fact that so many Blacks moved South. Is Georgia, for example, turning Blue because of the migration?

        • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 1:55 pm #

I heard Georgia is changing, in part, because they issued tax credits to get a share of the movie business.

The kind of people who would move there to work would be your Hollywood types, wouldn’t it?

Then I also know of a great number of New Yorkers looking to resettle their families to an area not yet ruined by liberalism.

The problem with that is, New Yorkers rejected the extremeism of the Northeast Liberal Elite have no idea that, to the rest of the country, they themselves are liberal. They set about trying to improve the areas they flee to, to make it a little more in line with where they came from, and they end up wrecking their new homes.

        • cbeard April 20, 2021 at 4:56 pm #

JohnAZ: Your evolution in thinking about what to do about America’s enduring negro problem is not much different than my own. Like most, I was much more tolerant in my youth, but with age and experience and observation comes wisdom.

One advantage I had was being raised in the South. Southern whites have no illusions about black people. We have lived cheek to jowl with them for 400+ years now. In the absence of Lincoln and Jefferson’s solution, which was to repatriate these folks back to Africa, we had to find a modus vivendi that would allow American civilization to continue to advance while preventing this cognitively challenged and bad impulse prone demographic from undoing all of our hard work. In a word, that solution was “segregation.”

Was it a perfect solution? Hardly. But give me a choice between the Southern States in 1955 and the Southern States in 2021 and its no contest. Indeed, America in 1955 was far better than it is in 2021 and this has everything to do with the fact that the Civil Rights acts and the Immigration Act of 1965 both laid the groundwork for empowering minorities who have done nothing but erode the power and success of American civilization ever since.

So, what to do now? Separate. The nation will have to be partitioned and it will be a difficult project not unlike what happened in India in 1947-48 as Hindus and Muslims partitioned the colony and established the separate nations of modern India and Pakistan.

As always, history is instructive. People don’t change much over the ages, which is why the study of history is essential. It is all about NOT repeating mistakes and emulating successful examples from the past.

    Great post today!

I live in a golf community out in the willie wags. My patio neighborhood (old folks) has about three black families. They are well heeled, well spoken and well educated. I find it interesting that these folks relocated to essentially a “White” community. They could live in one of the better black communities but chose not to. Why? Maybe they like the quiet, safety, and the fact this community is drama free. Once in awhile a car gets broken into and the drunk who drove on the golf course was severely dealt with. Otherwise this place is pretty serene.

The thing about the better classes of blacks is that they so often have kids, grandkids, and other relatives who are not of the better class.

You often hear this complaint in predominantly white neighborhoods that include a few families of black professionals. Your “well heeled, well spoken and well educated” blacks don’t want to be around that, as such problems would be much multiplied in an all-black community–however upper class.

Another factor is that many successful blacks probably annoy really intelligent and capable blacks, simply because too many successful blacks “made it” in life through AA, and retain many of the cultural and intellectual deficits of their ghetto brethren.

There is a retired black woman living in my resort community. She is intelligent, capable, well spoken, and all the rest. I cannot imagine her being comfortable in the company of even most well educated blacks.

    COMRADS!…I mean CFN’rs

    A blog site “90 Miles from Tyranny” has reported that China has a new program to ferret out dissidents;

Targets dissidents who dispute country’s history or criticize ruling Communists.

China’s Communist government has launched a new app that encourages citizens to report dissidents for expressing “mistaken opinions” on the Internet.

The new platform will target anyone who criticizes the dictatorship’s ruling CCP, disputes the official version of the country’s history or engages in “misinformation.”

The new website and app was proudly unveiled by China’s Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), with authorities calling on users to play an “active role” in helping to identify “malicious people distorting facts and confusing” others.

“For a while now, some people with ulterior motives…have spread historically nihilistic false statements online, maliciously distorting, slandering and denying Party, national and military history in an attempt to confuse people’s thinking,” the announcement said.

“We hope that most internet users will play an active role in supervising society…and enthusiastically report harmful information.”

My initial thought is “You’re all fucked”…but I could be wrong….

Anybody heard from Ashli Babbit’s husband lately?

    • Ron Anselmo April 19, 2021 at 12:01 pm #

Beryl – what are your thoughts on the Ashli Babbitt story? I have two friends – both whose analytical abilities and opinions, I respect, but both completely at odds.

      • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 12:29 pm #

My thoughts are that it doesn’t make sense that her husband has only been heard from twice, and has only spoken in general terms about his wife’s murder.

It also does not make sense that the name of the person who shot her is known, but not published, as with every other shooting.

The circumstances under which she was killed do not make sense, as why would a woman in a costume be singled out for attempting to climb through an already broken window, who would use lethal force in a crowd to do that?

It makes no sense that the president would not call the family.

When I hear “Ashli Babbitt’s legal team” I think “Epstein’s mother”.

A veteran, and no one who served with her has spoken up?

Too many very unusual circumstances for this to be what they say it is.

As with the Mandalay Bay shootings, what we are told does not add up, but I doubt we will hear what really happened and why.

Does Ashli Babbitt have a high school yearbook photo?

        I’m kind of rambling here.

Having lived in the same city as the family of someone who made national headlines, I saw the zeal of local reporters to attach themselves to a major story. For some reason, this woman’s death isn’t even a major story even though it was part of the insurrection story, and we know they told a pack of lies around other deaths that day.

If there are simple explanations to these irregularities, why haven’t we heard them?

        • MrMangoOnMyShoulder April 19, 2021 at 12:39 pm #

From the “let’s make sure this can be called an insurrection” standpoint, someone had to die that day, to make it official. Turned out there were four (or five?) more, but all “natural causes” (stress-induced heart attacks, etc) except that one.

Whether or not the lead-up actually forced the situation, the situation was going to happen either way. They had to take someone out. They couldn’t presume the other random people would kick it. But they did…and now they are forced to sweep the likely planned shooting under the rug to avoid scrutiny.

          Just my two cents.

        • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 12:46 pm #

Those are great questions. I have seen the scene deconstructed, and posted a video of it last week here.

I even wonder if she’s really dead.

The Vegas Shooting was also a false flag and did not happen as the official version claimed, and easily proven. A friend was curious and went there the next day and there were no holes in the tarp covering the fence where everyone supposedly was shot and died.

On every level there are things that don’t add up.

My rule of thumb is, that if they won’t report it, it’s a false flag.

“What’s actually at issue here is whether black people in America really want to join with the other ethnic groups present in the land in a national common culture — that is, a consensus about behavior, ceremonies, and manners — or would rather opt out of it, oppose it, or violently destroy what’s left of it.”

I am not sure about this, Jim. Help me out, will you? Are there “other ethnic groups” in the US “present in …a national common culture”? Who are they? Is it the Hispanics who voted for Trump in record numbers, but are still 2/3 in the Dems camp and the fastest growing ethnic group, so fast in fact, that many of them don’t bother learning English? Apart from AOC, I wonder where sympathies of most of them lie in the traditions of the Alamo. Or is it the Muslims from the Middle East and South East Asia who contribute to organizations like ISNA and CAIR. Wouldn’t an organization whose name promotes “American-Islamic Relations”, itself be evidence to the fact that many Muslim Americans don’t recognize a “national common culture”? From where I am sitting it looks to me that the craziness of Woke, would not last a day if there was civic society with consensus “about behaviour, ceremonies and manners”. But there isn’t and the “liberal neurosis” may simply be a way of saying “we know we’ve lost it and its our fault; so let’s see if we can bring it back by standing the world on its head.”

It bizarre, yes, but this is what citizens in these cities consistently vote for. In Portland, Mayor Wheeler stood for reelection after his business district was literally destroyed and the murder rate spun out of control; he was handily reelected.

BRH – Good observation. I remarked to my significant other this past week that I saw no reason to get overly twisted about places like NYC, SanFran, Portland, Minneapolis, etc. being reduced to smoking rubble by the usual suspects. After all, THEY voted for the cynical rat-bastard communist Democrat politicians who deliberately engineered these actual insurrectionary acts.

It won’t bother me in the least if every blue city in America spends the next 100 years with its Democrat voting base raping, killing, burning, and looting one another. No skin off my back.

But if they show up at my door, well, let’s just say that they would receive a warm reception they would never forget. Out here in rural flyover country we do not have these problems because we are well armed and elect very conservative Republicans who don’t put up with such bullshit and who enforce law and order. As a result, we never have to use our privately owned firearms to stop cretins like this from doing the usual Burn-Loot-Murder program.

Ron – Over the past year Gov. DeSantis has advanced to the top of my short-list of preferred candidates for the Republican nomination for POTUS in 2024. His WIKI resume is very impressive. Better than Ronald Reagan. Better than Trump. Pretty much better than just about every Republican of prominence I’ve watched over the past half century.

        • Ron Anselmo April 21, 2021 at 4:46 pm #

Yep, I agree on qualifications, and lots of chatter about DeSantis in 2024, if Trump decides to sit that one out.

Truth be told though, personally I’d rather see him stay as a multi-term strong governor in Florida. As the country heads more towards Balkanization, and we become less United, I think regional and state level governance will become more important & crucial. Personally, as far as I’m concerned, the more local the governance – the better.

Plus, I’ve never been in love with a man before, and my crush on “Heavy D” is so strong, I fear if he leaves for DC, I’ll be heartbroken.

Maybe President of the USSA? United Southern States of America. Has a nice ring to it.

Northerners welcome, subject to an IQ test – Ideology Quotient.

    • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 1:28 pm #

I would like to see President Trumpstand up and do more than criticize the characters who flimflammed him whith the virus response.

He should apologize for ever going against our Constitution and civil liberties and human rights over a disease.

He needs to come out and plainly state that masks and lockdowns and restrictions do not work, and that he never should have advocated for them.

Florida’s governor recently went even farther than his earlier statement that he would never lock down again, he put the lie to the bogus masks, and more important, he has said it was WRONG to have ever locked down.

Still falling short of a complete apology. but better than the rest of the Democrats and Republicans who inflicted this insanity on America.

President Trump and the people who insist he could do no wrong, even as they rail against the wrongs of the “response”, ned to get it through their heads that even as this episode comes to a close, we are left wide open for the next set of “restrictions” due to an “emergency”, with no proof at all that the restrictions will have any affect on that emergency.

ALL and I mean ALL the real data on the effects of lockdowns and masks show NO benefit. The mask statistics even show that the voodoo superstition made things worse.

This has to be made clear.

The people who fell for it have to own up and make amends for being stupid or power hungry or too lazy to do due diligence.

President Trump got bad advice. When he got to the point where he knew how bad the advice was, he should have fired the perpetrators.
      He failed to do so.

This puts me on the outs with many of his supporters, but I don’t care, facts are facts and truth is truth; and the fact is, the most active leaders in the anti-lockdown movement don’t care about anything but the facts and truth either, and they do not hold President Trump blameless for his part in what happened.

When I see the behavior of people who think they are being heroic in this scamdemic, I understand the holocaust and how it happened in a modern society better.

        BERYL

So, Americans who went to school for the right kind of degrees, the STEM ones, so they could get better paying jobs, might conceivably find themselves unable to pay back the student loans they needed to get the degrees they had to have for the good paying jobs, because they are paying too much for the basics to live where those jobs are?

And I read that even the ‘classy’ jobs are being exported, I mean outsourced.
One tale was of someone with chemistry degrees, getting an offer of a 1k a month job, in China. That wont pay student loans of 100k and up.

American politicians never apologize or admit they are wrong unless they are cornered and forced, no matter who it is. I am convinced that Trump is/was controlled opposition, especially given his handling of the COVID19 scam, which he knew was a scam, because all world leaders were put in place in order to roll it out. There is zero chance, IMHO, that Trump would be left out of the plan. That just doesn’t seem possible to me.

At times, Trump did and said what he felt was best for the country. He contributed in someway. Fine. But I think you should consider that what we know from the internet and what is going on in the real world are 2 damn separate things. Yes, the election was stolen. Your gut sense and research on the net tells you this. So what next then? What is the mechanism in the real world where you convert this knowledge you got from the net into something concrete or results? Is it complaining to the press? CNN? The UN? Congress? The Police? Guiliani tried something, right? No, it looks like they went ahead and did the same thing again in Georgia. Again, no way to convert knowledge about this case into results or consequantial change. They are sayng even if you know, you cannot do a damn thing about it. Matter of fact, we can block you righr now under tems of service and screw the constitution, right? Tell me I’m wrong.

Mary – The insanity of the TDS phenom tends to argue against your theory that Trump was “controlled opposition” – though I certainly share your frustration.

In my view, Trump ended up being what he has always been, a blowhard who couldn’t discipline his mouth. That was part of what made him entertaining and appealing to many working class Republican voters who enjoyed watching the Libtards stroke-out over every tweet Trump made.

Nevertheless, I think that some of Trump’s instincts were good and if he did nothing else, he at least legitimized challenging illegal immigration and brought that issue out of the closet and front and center in American politics. The fact that he kept Steven Miller on-board for the entire 4 years speaks volumes to the fact that nobody controls Trump. Trump is his own loose cannon on deck and no one else’s. LOL….

But it is time to move on. Trump is getting too old and the Left succeeded in making him radioactive to squishy voters in the middle. DeSantis is a better choice and I’m happy to see that Trump backs him.

  36. shox April 19, 2021 at 1:46 pm #

“The key to these questions is how to explain the failure-to-thrive of a large black demographic despite the apparent victories of a long civil rights campaign, colossal expenditures of tax money for assistance, and affirmative action galore. I would explain it as the malign influence of neurotic white liberalism acting on the aforesaid black ambivalence about joining in or remaining apart from that common culture.

“The upshot, for now, is that white liberalism has given black America permission to act violently and destructively, to disobey the law, to oppose officers attempting to enforce the law, and to justify the whole package of uncivil behavior on the grounds that “systemic racism” and “white supremacy” are the forces that keep black Americans from thriving. The script for all this prevails because liberalism cannot otherwise explain its own failure to uplift black America over many years of sedulous striving. They are left disappointed, ashamed, and guilty, and neurotically give themselves permission to support black hostility and hatred against white people as a form of self-punishment. The catch is that not all white people in America are neurotic liberals and they are not in favor of continuing white self-punishment.”

    =======================================

Too simplistic an explanation James. There are other factors at play:
    1. Hardly anyone dares mention what should be single most deciding factor: the average IQ in the black community is significantly lower than with other ethnicities. This is why black communities who are embedded as a minority race in other countries do similarly poorly. All across Europe, it’s the same story. Don’t throw “Racist!” in my face. It’s just a fact. There are no Indians and Asians out there rioting and burning cities down. They’ve got the brains to forge their own success, so they don’t have to throw tantrums to earn sympathy points and emotionally blackmail the nation into giving them money.
    2. The liberals, whether they are conscious of it or not, are acting as a force for the creation of inter-group antagonisms in order to destabilize and destroy the existing order, which has been inherited from the found fathers and transmitted over hundreds of years, and ultimately to subjugate the entire population under Marxism Leninism. You are wrong to believe they are ashamed of their failures. THEY INWARDLY DO NOT FEEL SHAME. All of this insanity and chaos is by design, though most of them are unconscious of it. You’ve surely read Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals.” One of the tactics they employ is to hold the enemy accountable to his own rule-book, though they flout it themselves. It doesn’t even matter whether they feel shame or not. They are enacting in real life the logic of the programming they’ve received in school. That logic will take them and the state straight to their universal destruction, just as the KGB intended decades ago when they nurtured this movement into the monstrous size that it has become. You must surely have watched the Yuri Bezmenov conversation with G. Edward Griffin.
    3. As Oswald Spengler described in his “Decline of the West”, Western culture is going through its Faustian “winter” phase. The religious faith and mythology which once animated it, and which spurred it to create Gothic cathedrals, calculus, the telescope, the automobile and the like, have been undone by the advances of rationality and science and Darwin’s theory of evolution and natural selection, and have now been abandoned. Western man is living precariously off the legacy of his forefathers, his own creative life-force extinguished. And without a sense of place and identity in this hostile, arbitrary, indifferent and demeaning universe, he subconsciously longs for his own annihilation. Of course, there is also the sense of guilt over the transgressions of his forefathers, such as the massacre of the Indians. But in truth, EVERY culture has this on its resume. All this, I believe, is the reason why the US, Canada and the nations of Europe seem to have lost their instinct for self-preservation, as they get inundated with alien and hostile cultures like Islam. With this at play, it’s also no wonder that we see such displays of self-abasement and abdication by white people before other ethnic groups.

    • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 2:03 pm #

IDK, it looks to me like adopting primitive superstition and voodoo in place of science and reason is tearing down Western Civilization as we speak.

the average IQ in the black community is significantly lower than with other ethnicities.

Mestizos have similar IQs and ‘cultures’ [they were deep in Cannibalism when the Whites arrived].

Blacks appear to have testosterone that is high and other differences that liberals dont want unearthed [see Bruce Lahn].

      • Beryl of Oyl April 19, 2021 at 2:19 pm #

All this talk of IQ does not explain the fact that where I grew up, when there was a decent-paying job for any man who was willing to work hard, the black members of the community weren’t killing each other. If anything, the “brothers” treated one another better than the white guys did each other.

As the jobs disappeared, that’s when things starting to break down.

Yes there were fatherless families on welfare, but they average person receiving public assistance at that time was a white woman whose husband skipped out on the family.

IQ has nothing to do with any of that.

            Backrow,

There’s a story in the Talmud.

Before a soul descends to earth, it stands before the Throne of God and He decides if it will be male or female, good looking or not, how intelligent it will be, born wealthy or poor, and so on. Then God says; “One thing I leave entirely in your hands, whether to be righteous or unrighteous.”
            .
Life deals us a hand, some good stuff, some bad. We have to play the hand we’re dealt. You shouldn’t feel superior or inferior to anyone else for what’s dealt to you, take pride in what you’ve earned and accomplished.

Good point & lack of jobs is going to become front & center within the next year. No employment ruins plenty of families no matter what the ethnicity. Many avenues of employment were blocked during the Jim Crow era & blacks were crowded into small areas in cities. Maybe this set the stage for the ghettos & the ghetto culture we have today.

I’ve always been suspicious of this worship of IQ. Maybe because I’ve worked with people purported to be brilliant yet seen the exact same character traits as everybody else.

They behaved or else. To the extent it worked, it was because they copied us. Strong nuclear families are not a natural model for them. In Africa, it’s strong extended families and clans. Automation has a lot to do with it. All the grunt work is done by machines. All the clerical work is now done by them. Their best people are hard at work on a machine to do what is now called ‘paralegal’ work. Buckminster Fuller said that if the margins saved through all this automation were distributed a little more widely, we’d have a really Star Trek level thing going. The problem is, the cultural paradigm is a debased Calvinism that looks an awful lot like Stakhanovite Communism. Our entire lives are meant to revolve around ‘work’. Communists and Capitalists both are united in their desire to keep you busy. Idle hands and all.

    • hmuller April 19, 2021 at 3:37 pm #

      Excellent points, shox.

Regarding Number 1 Left-wing people who claim to be “science based” come completely unglued, reduced to emotional ranting and raving, stomping their feet, and crying at the mention of that point.. This is why equality of outcome will always elude the do-gooders. But they can never admit the truth. So we end up punished by their collective insanity, their “wokester policies”.

Regarding Number 3. Western white civilization has a deep moral conscience and outsized capacity for guilt, self-blame, and self-hate. Do you suppose today’s Mongols sit around lamenting and repenting of all the murder, rape, looting, sadism, destruction etc. they committed a mere 800 years ago. Oh hell no! They no doubt look back on those glory days of their nation as their greatest and proudest moment.

Thanks for your response. Yes indeed. The wokesters are capable of being both smart and stupid at the same time. Read the response I posted below to MaryV’s comment. It really is the most amazing phenomenon to behold. If someone described all this it to me 20 years ago, I would never have believed it possible. Where I grew up (Zimbabwe, formerly Rhodesia), whites were a proud people who saw themselves as the standard bearers for mankind, tasked with the duty of bringing light to the rest of the world. Remember Rudyard Kipling’s famous lines:

Take up the White Man’s burden–
Send forth the best ye breed–
Go bind your sons to exile
        To serve your captives’ need;

You’re right. Westerner’s are MUCH TOO HARD on themselves. And other cultures, particular enemy states like China, join in this macabre ceremony of excoriating the West, despite perpetrating, IN THE PRESENT DAY, what the West perpetrated hundreds of years ago. There’s literal slavery and genocide going on in China RIGHT NOW.

In reality, which country does every single refugee put at the top of his list when fleeing from poverty and genocide? Obviously the US. That should be all the info that anyone should ever look to before deciding who’s the worst culture of them all. Look how people vote with their feet.

        • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 5:59 pm #

Yes, meditate on the extraordinary transference: We project our best qualities onto Blacks and accept their worst qualities as our own or our fault at least. If this continues, it means our complete enslavement and destruction, with many sick Whites cheering it on.

Shox: No wonder I find you so sensible. You are a Rhodie. You’ve been through the furnace already.

I spend quite a bit of time here trying to persuade readers to devote some time to the study of your formerly lovely nation. So many lessons to be learned from what happened to Rhodesia.

Down here in the Yankee-occupied Confederate States of America many of us completely understand what went down in Rhodesia between 1960 to the present.

          • shox April 22, 2021 at 6:19 pm #

            @Wizard of the Saddle

The fall of Rhodesia to the KGB-backed Marxist guerrilla savages masquerading as the “patriotic front” engaged in the “liberation struggle” (so many Orwellian inversions of reality with the use of language now that I think about it) was pretty much equaled in its trauma-value by the the economic collapse and hyperinflation between 2000-2008. THAT was the real furnace, especially economically and psychologically. To see them destroy within 10 years what took generations of pioneers and their descendants to build…. words cannot describe the despair and grief of those who had to live through it and ultimately flee from it like Lot from Sodom and Gomorrah.

Yes indeed, the case of Rhodesia/Zimbabwe is a cautionary example of what can happen when people naively assume that one race or culture can inherit the legacy of another race and culture and seamlessly perpetuate it into the future. Precisely the opposite is true. I witnessed a fast-forward panorama of the “great replacement” as it is now called in Europe, which is allowing itself to be washed away by alien races and cultures.

I maintain what I said earlier: Western Man seems to have a subconscious death wish. He is spiritually exhausted and has lost his instinct of self-preservation. He doesn’t want to defend himself against enemies, either internal or external. Marxist-Leninists will assail him and continue their work of demoralizing the populations of the West and hastening the process of its suicide.

VERY, VERY good point. As soon as I posted my comment, I expected someone to rightly reprimand me on this point. There are LOTS of tech-geniuses in Silicone Valley, yet their intelligence does not exempt them from being possessed by this nonsensical ideology which is so riddled with logical contradictions and is now steering the state straight to its destruction. They have a particular strain of super-specialized intelligence, yet no knowledge of human nature and no historical perspective.

What can I say? Intelligence and wisdom are NOT the same thing. Or else, George Orwell’s “Doublethink” is a very real occurrence, not just a figment of Orwell’s imagination. It’s quite literally possible for very intelligent people to harbor very stupid ideas, and yet be wholeheartedly devoted to being of service to the stupidity in them. The billionaire overlords in Silicon Valley stand as a very cautionary example for all of us to see.

In my feeble defense, I’ll say that at least the tech gurus have brain enough to make money and not become dependent on the state for their material needs.

What is evil is to speak LIES, no matter how good it makes some people feel.

So I was talking to my neighbor; he used to be a DA, now in private practice defending the criminals he used to prosecute.

Me: what about the Chauvin verdict?

Neighbor: an acquittal is highly probable.

Then, “send your wife out of town, and keep your guns close”.

“What’s actually at issue here is whether black people in America really want to join with the other ethnic groups present in the land in a national common culture — that is, a consensus about behavior, ceremonies, and manners — or would rather opt out of it, oppose it, or violently destroy what’s left of it.”

One thing about us human beings. We are obsessed with our own self-interest. If we feel something will pay off for us, we’re all over it. If not – we seek something else and fast.

Whether members of any race in America want to join in to a common culture will depend – as always – on whether they can get what they want out of it. Which leads to the next question: What does anyone want today?

That’s a tough one. Nobody seems to want the same things, except for more magic conjured digits to mystically appear in our empty bank accounts, to not have to go in to the office any more, to not get along with others, to promote our grievances, and to waste much of our lives on needless drama to no good end. Hey, that’s it! THAT’s now our common culture. And good luck building a future on THAT.

And, let’s go back to the beginning. Were Native Americans given an opportunity to join with other ethnic groups in a common American culture? Or… were they the first victims of the Cancel Culture that seeks to erase all things that differ from one’s own chosen elevated group of people or ways of thinking? And if the Natives did want to join such a culture — what would they get out of it? Or if they preferred to keep their own culture and live with a respectful coexistence… would they have been allowed to? I think we know the answer to that one.

Americans en masse seem to have collectively rejected the idea of a Common American Culture for our future. Conflict is encouraged instead of cooperation. Getting Over and Getting Yours seems to be the default operating system of our times. Ethics and morals are seen as silly notions from the Leave It To Beaver era. Get with the times, man. Old is bad. Different is good. Common culture? What do I get out of THAT? Sucka!

What a sad ending to an American story that began with wide open spaces and big dreams. Nowadays, we are packed in together seething with frustration with others just as testy and our collective dream is to get through another day.

Yes. It took just 5 centuries (6 or 7 lifetimes strung end-to-end!), to clog the open land like an old artery.

All the western values and ideals, technological capacity, oil riches… all that to work with… 500 years and chaos at the door, unhappiness.

Why? Agro-industrial imperialism is a failed-state-in-progress every time, no matter the incarnation.

World War II, we’ve been trained to believe, even by pacifists, was the one and only Good War. Evil Nazi Germany intent on taking over the world attacked its peace-loving neighbours who were, however reluctantly, forced to respond. The immediate cause – we’re told – was Germany’s refusal to respect Poland’s territorial integrity, thereby activating the British-French defense guarantee for that country. This justification however can be easily invalidated because shortly after the German invasion of Poland the Soviets also invaded. Yet the Allies did not declare war on war them.

Au contraire. In fact Churchill wrote at least ten letters to Stalin offering Britain’s support and he developed a warm and personal relationship with the Soviet Ambassador to London ((Ivan Maisky)). Prior to becoming PM he had strongly urged Chamberlain against supporting the Baltic countries and Finland, all of which had been invaded by the Soviets. So much for the rights of small nations on which he endlessly bloviated.

After Germany invaded the Soviet Union Churchill’s support grew to extraordinary (and arguably treasonous) lengths to the point of putting Britain’s strategic military objectives at risk. For instance he redirected 200 new Hawker pursuit planes from the defence of Singapore to Stalin. This decision had major ramifications in that the planes proved vital in the Battle of Moscow and their absence contributed to the fall of Singapore to the Japanese. He also redirected 500 bombers from America to the Soviet Union while withdrawing hundreds of tanks from British forces engaged in the desert war against Rommel.

    Some British hero, wasn’t he?

What were his motives? Remember he very early on, ahead of most of his peers, identified the existential geopolitical threat posed by the Bolsheviks and he was, up until the early thirties, open-minded on whether Hitler would prove to be a force for good or ill. What happened? Well call me a mad right-wing conspiracy theorist if you like but here’s my explanation: In the early thirties Jewish bankers saved him from bankruptcy. Now this could reflect the legendary selfless generosity of such people. Or it could be that they had a price. Remember it was at this time that, as the Daily Express put it ‘Judea Declares War On Germany‘ sub-titled ‘Jews Of All The World Unite‘.

    [Something to think about.]

“Believe your eyes. What you saw, you saw,” Schleicher said, stressing it was Chauvin’s actions that killed Floyd.

That was the closing argument. The easy, obvious point any lawyer worth his salt would have made.

But we didn’t see a bad cop killing an innocent. It looks that way, but it’s not what we really saw. What we saw is a police officer fulfilling his sworn duty to serve and protect in a lawful manner, following accepted procedures and training. Floyd didn’t die because of Chauvin’s actions. He died of an overdose, combined with poor health. That’s the facts, but it’s not what we saw.

We saw what we saw on 9/11. Then we were told the meaning of what we saw, that this and that one were responsible. We believed it. Then some started having second thoughts. Is this really what happened? We don’t know. Something happened and there was an agenda ready to be implemented, that’s all we know.

“Trust your eyes” was true for most of our history. Is it still? Technology now can create deep fakes. We can see something on a screen that looks real, yet it’s not. That magic trick will be deployed at some point, if it hasn’t yet. False flags can, and have, also been deployed, and we think we’ve seen something, but in fact we’ve seen something else.

I trust my eyes, but I don’t trust screens, and the propaganda and manipulation that come with screens. If it’s not mediated by a screen, I believe it. That the okra has popped, that it looks like it will rain, that the neighbor, black or white, is a decent fellow – or an asshole. If there’s a screen telling me what to think about what I see, I start doubting.

There was a lively discussion here, over the weekend, about UFO’s. I’d like to share a dream I had years ago: I’m driving on the interstate one night, the sky is reddish and stormy, and of a sudden, cars ahead start braking and swerving onto the median. A giant spaceship with many bright lights has risen ahead, and is slowly gliding towards the city. People are getting out of cars, dazed, shaken. Some get on their knees and pray. Then, with the clarity you sometimes get when you’re dreaming, I know: “this is not real”. I look to the side of the road and I see some nondescript vans and suv’s, and I know the alien craft is being generated from them, from some apparatus inside them, a projection, a hologram. I don’t know how, or why it’s done, but I know it’s not true, what I’m seeing.

There’s enough noise as is right now, but lately a new source of noise has risen: there’s a lot of buzz about new “alien revelations and disclosures”. Maybe the screens will show us something, and tell us what to think about it. But I don’t know. Like Socrates, I only know I know nothing. Or very little. I know the okra is popping, I know I love my family. Not much else.

    • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 6:49 pm #

I’ve had similar dreams with the holograms. Sometimes, the sky is filled with them. Really bizarre stuff. Also, things exploding, falling out of the sky, etc. I hope I don’t have ESP. LOL.

Mary, from Britannica: “Collective unconscious, term introduced by psychiatrist Carl Jung to represent a form of the unconscious (that part of the mind containing memories and impulses of which the individual is not aware) common to mankind as a whole and originating in the inherited structure of the brain. It is distinct from the personal unconscious, which arises from the experience of the individual. According to Jung, the collective unconscious contains archetypes, or universal primordial images and ideas.”

  57. JohnAZ April 19, 2021 at 6:36 pm #

Some very good discussions here today.

    I wonder,

What is America? Does it really have any reason to exist? Seems like it, plus maybe Canada, was NOT founded on an ethnicity or language basis. It is and always has been a diverse quilt of many different people, immigrants. The only real natives are the Native Americans.

Europe grew up from ancestral roots thousands of years old. Started with Greece and worked through Rome then the Dark Ages to now. The French were Gauls, the Germans were Huns, the English were Britons. Like family continuing for many generation. The Jews were the same way, claiming family lineage way back.

Anyway, America has none of that. So what is the glue that holds us together? If anything?

The thirteen colonies had nothing in common. The threat posed by England to their mutual economies pulled them together enough to declare independence, fight a revolution and create a Constitution. It is that Constitution that is the glue. The glue is the only thing that holds this country together, and the promise of the FFs intention of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness applies to all. Being able to get ahead on your own merits is what has drawn millions into this country. When other areas fail their folks, they come here.

The US has always had problems with unity. Crises, wars, natural disasters always pull people together. The Wag the Dog operating theory is based on it, find a common enemy and get them.

Is that what the US really is, a diverse group of different peoples held together only by the threat of some common foe. Are the Democrats honing this to a fine edge, actually the entire Deep State as they struggle against the populace? The current group of idiots in DC are already doing everything they can to divide us up. This will reach critical mass where the US with start to disintegrate, the Deep State will panic and declare war or something, somewhere to “unify” us under some bullshit banner like communism or Naziism or anti Japan, or Spain, or Mexico, or Britain or each other in the civil war.

Does the USA, e pluribus unum, even have a reason to exist. The Dems right now want to destroy the Constitution to acquire ultimate power. Will they be successful? If they do not find that enemy, will the US just fall apart? Like the USSR? Is Russia the common foe this time? Who is Biden going to use as the whipping boy?

BTW, the US no longer has the fighting will or military power to just run over little countries as it has.

IMHO, we are heading for a break up. There is nothing to prevent it. The party in power is encouraging it. Interesting times asks how the division will occur.

    • Tate April 19, 2021 at 7:24 pm #

“Is that what the US really is, a diverse group of different peoples held together only by the threat of some common foe.”

This is the clue as to why the Roman empire kept expanding, the threat of some common foe. They awarded citizenship to non-Romans so they were also a “diverse group of different peoples.” The only way they could maintain a hold on these peoples was the threat of a common foe. In fact, the Persian empire was the same. All empires are like that.

    • MrMangoOnMyShoulder April 19, 2021 at 7:45 pm #

JohnAZ – “What is America? Does it really have any reason to exist?”

      Interesting question.

And it was never a question for my entire upbringing. It was a given that we were part of something noteworthy and sustaining. Suddenly, we’re supposed question it all and “bin it”, as the Brits say.

      Pretty confusing.

      • abbybwood April 20, 2021 at 2:16 am #

I must have recited The Pledge of Allegiance thousands of times when attending school in Ohio in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s, hand over heart:

“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
And to the Republic for which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

If only what it says was the truth.

        • Wizard of the Saddle April 21, 2021 at 12:16 pm #

The “indivisible” part is a lie. Added by Yankees after the late unpleasantness between the North and the South.

All countries are easily divisible. They get sliced and diced all of the time and have been since the beginning of recorded history.

People need to lose their normalcy bias that misinformed them that the status quo will always be the same.

The only constant in life is change. The challenge is to figure out what is worth keeping and what is worth changing.

I had the nagging feeling that I should get out of CA well before the lockdown. After it? No question. I high-tailed it to Idaho last August, the soonest I could move.

What was your first winter like?
Did you buy? Rent? City? Country?

    • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 9:12 pm #

Renting in the southeast suburbs of Boise. Loved the winter, but am looking forward to spring. I have a huge back yard, which I could not afford in CA. I just put together a LOT of raised beds to grow a huge garden of veggies, fruits and pollinator plants.

It is beautiful, and the people are so nice.

Winters are typically pretty mild (I grew up in IL so – nothing to me).

And so far, way cheaper. No crowds. Just got a bike, went tooling around the Green Belt. I absolutely love it so far.

  62. amb April 19, 2021 at 7:26 pm #

America was forcefully taken over and owned by white, Christian Europeans. The Vikings, the Dutch, the French, and probably others had the chance but didn’t follow through for whatever reason. The white, Christian Europeans started to build and create the country. Mostly Brits, Scots, Irish, Germans, and Italians. So, right or wrong, this is (or was) a White/Christian/European country and culture. They own it (whether right or wrong or fair) and they should never have let it be diluted. Blacks, Muslims, Communists, etc. could never fit into that culture.

The smartest thing Lincoln/Congress could’ve done when slavery was abolished was to give the slaves gold and food and send them back to their villages in Africa. Get them all out of White/Christian/European America.

    • amb April 19, 2021 at 7:28 pm #

Note: I’d say the opposite if Africans had founded and developed America and then White/Christian/Europeans came or were brought here. I’d say… send them all back to Europe. Their religion, customs, culture do not and never will fit.

      • amb April 19, 2021 at 7:32 pm #

Note: When the Founding Fathers and the Constitution spoke of freedom of religion, they meant the Christian religions no longer beng persecuted or impinged upon by a state or monarchy. GOD is mentioned in these American documents, doesn’t that say enough.

How can you mention GOD, when there are Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, etc. etc. that have different gods? You’ve already excluded these people.

And them, just like the Africans, should never have been allowed in, or allowed to stay in, white Christian Capitalist America.

        • Tekapo April 19, 2021 at 8:16 pm #

When the Founding Fathers and the Constitution spoke of freedom of religion, they meant the Christian religions no longer being persecuted or impinged upon by a state or monarchy.

Yes – freedom of religion was protected, but so was freedom from religion – the state could not establish an official religion … the Founding Fathers did not want to replicate the power of the Catholic (and Protestant) religions that had riven Europe for 1500 years.

On balance then – the Founding Fathers were very much trying to create a secular state – free of the yoke of any religion, including Christianity. The Constitution does not use the word “God” (Christian or otherwise), I think precisely not to assume a religious nation.

These guys were fairly radical and far-sighted – they weren’t trying to create a nation that looked like 18th Century Europe, with its ancient institutions, power relations, aristocracies, and conflicts.

          • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 8:28 pm #

Now you like them? They were very narrow when it came to race. But you know that these people don’t know that. Kudos to your strategerie.

        • Yohannon April 19, 2021 at 8:26 pm #

By definition most people are excluded if you want to do anything. White Christians are also excluded from other nations.

Believing that almost everything is possible are the chains of Liberalism. You are a slave of your positive thinking.

        • Tekapo April 19, 2021 at 10:02 pm #

          Now you like them?

In terms of being leery about religion, and their desire to create a new secular nation free of its scourge – very admirable.

In designing a political system to really work for a few centuries – not so much. They were a bit schizophrenic about it – on one hand they believe that the would be governed by honorable men, but on the other they included so many checks, balances, and vetos that they almost guaranteed gridlock and paralysis.

But I know they were skewered by (a) distrust between the original colonies, and (b) the intractable issues relating to slavery.

    • BackRowHeckler April 19, 2021 at 7:46 pm #

Well, the US govt set up Liberia in the 1840s.

It didn’t work out too good as the American blacks who went to Africa lorded it over the native Africans, in fact enlisted them as slave labor to work on the vast cotton plantations the American blacks had set up. Then there was the whole question of cannibalism, which the Africans still practiced but which appalled black Americans.

The what if’s stand out. What if Lincoln had sent all the Blacks to Liberia? What if the Blacks, Browns and Muslims had assimilated into America so that everyone believed the same things. Small percentages have assimilated. Much to their benefit. What is it that keeps the bigger and bigger groups refusing to adopt America? The real irony is they do not have a clue what to put in its place. Scrap the Constitution, what to put in its place? No clue!!

This is a real negative about the human condition, the Devil’s Advocacy.

Ask an anarchist what he hates, government. Ask him what needs to take its place. No idea. We know what Marxists want, control by the Rightist minority, small minority. Get it. Leftists, Marxism , in place, is a Rightist government. Once in place, no more changes, police state, do not challenge the status quo.

Neo- Marxists, you are so damned stupid you do not understand you are killing your own cause. America and its Constitution is what gives you the liberty to act like the assholes you are. After you succeed in destroying America’s freedom, you can bathe in your own regrets as the PTB send you off to “Siberia”.

  68. BackRowHeckler April 19, 2021 at 8:07 pm #

Other than Rhodesia and SAfrica, Liberia was for many decades the most prosperous of the sub saharan African countries. The Americo-Liberians considered themselves an unapproachable elite, for example, a native African was forbidden from talking directly to an Americo, or looking him in the eye. An African could not marry an Americo, or even mix socially. They were not thought of as fully human.

Americos ruled from 1827 to 1980.

After that came a civil war that killed about 250,000 people and wiped out 90% of the economy. Those were the days of General Butt Naked, when Liberia returned to the African fold.

The hold the crud has on the country is weakening, the power mongers that have used it to control the country are losing their hold. The Vaccine is working, the new cases are declining in most states, deaths are really down. Comparing the US right now to Europe shows the effect of the vaccines here starting to beat the disease. The only country in Europe that has taken vaccines seriously is the UK, and their response is the same as ours.

Hopefully, you soon will no longer have the crud to complain about and will talk about important stuff like the loss of our republic. And, no, the Covid is on the decline, no longer the power handle it was.

    • MaryV April 19, 2021 at 9:23 pm #

I wish I could share your optimism, JAZ, but today I just saw that Pfizer CEO says you need a 3d shot and then a shot every year, for a virus that if it exists mutates ever few hours (which is why no vaccine was ever created for the other coronaviruses, it didn’t make sense). And air travel to other countries is being restricted. So no, the response to the crud is intensifying, because it is not about the crud at all.

It’s about the Great Reset. Covid19 is just the means to that.

I understand that, but you don’t seem to – which is fine. I’m just clarifying why I would not take the experimental mRNA-altering non-vaccine ‘vaccine’ nor would I set myself up to have to take continual ones, especially now that I’ve learned what’s going on is parallel to Fauci’s first grift, the AIDS pandemic. The cure was the actual pandemic and they are doing the same thing now with the vaccines. I have seen that thousands have died or been injured, including a friend of mine who has Bell’s Palsy, and was coerced into taking the vaccine by her husband.

I also see op eds calling the unvaxxed ‘unclean’ ‘selfish’ and that they should be removed from society – in Washington Post today. This is not ending until people refuse the vaxx and remove the face masks and say ‘enough’.

More irritating newspeak, hesitancy. The correct word is resistance. As in heels dug in, oh hell no I am not getting these shots.

God, I hate the manipulation of language recently. I’ve already ranted about “paused.”.

          • malthuss April 20, 2021 at 8:12 am #

            not news speak, psychobabble.

theres the saying, he who controls the language wins the debate, or in this case the debacle.

          • tully April 20, 2021 at 4:29 pm #

Malthuss, debacle is definitely the right word for the whole mess. And pyschobabble is more accurate than newspeak.

I read an article a few weeks ago that I forgot to bookmark, but the gist was we have been the victims of trauma based mind control this year. it cited the lockdowns, the social distancing, masking, especially when required any where outdoors, as part of the practices inflicting the psychological damage. Back that up with non-stop propaganda, courtesy of CDC and WEF, and no wonder so many people seem to have flat lost their minds.

The common enemies should be world pollution, never ending population growth, and religious fanaticism or irrationality in general, among others.

Thin threads of money, opportunity and hope now offer only a fragile connection among us.

The white man is becoming the common enemy. In HBO’s “Exterminate all the Brutes”, a twist is put on those famous words of Kurtz in “Heart of Darkness”, the white man becoming the brute with his imperialism, slavery, and colonialism.

    The message is not subtle.

    • JohnAZ April 19, 2021 at 8:23 pm #

Overpopulation towers over everything. The bottom line for everything now is who owns the diminishing resources.

The answer may not be very pleasant.

      • tucsonspur April 19, 2021 at 9:05 pm #

Yes, and the fight over those resources will be nothing less than a fight to survive. Which means it will be unavoidable. Unless somehow we smarten up.
