You have to wonder how many Democratic senators spend the long hours of impeachment fantasizing how to end the misery of listening to Rep. Adam Schiff deliver the party’s funeral oration. Please God, hurl a lightning bolt at the podium… bring down a chunk of the fine old coffered ceiling where he stands and prates about a Russian invasion of Malibu… send a coral snake up the leg of his trousers…!

It was so bad that his California counterpart, Senator Dianne Feinstein, just up-and-split late Wednesday. Elizabeth Warren has been seen furiously doodling maps of all the primary precincts she is failing to visit in her confinement. Bernie Sanders imagines himself wielding thirty inches of re-bar upside Mr. Schiff’s skull, while Amy Klobuchar pops her third Xanax of the evening. You have no idea what mental tribulation the House impeachment manager supreme is visiting on his colleagues.

The impeachment case against Mr. Trump might mercifully spell the end of the Master Narrative the Democrats have been confabulating since 2016: that Donald Trump invited the wicked Vlad Putin to checkmate Hillary Clinton and thereby crushed the hopes and dreams of those wishing to make Ukraine the 51st state… or something like that. Because according to Mr. Schiff, there is no nation on this planet as dear to the interests of America than darling Ukraine, with its radioactive forests, decrepitating Soviet infrastructure, and dedication to liberty.

Those who were only puzzling over Nancy Pelosi’s motives in bringing this case, and assigning it to the two sketchiest characters in her charge, Schiff & Nadler, must finally be convinced that she is no longer sound of mind. What was she thinking? Did she really want to set up the voters to lose faith in the basic electoral process by preemptively delegitimizing the 2020 election? (“Trump can only win if he cheats!”) Is she that desperate to flip the Senate to prevent anymore judicial appointments? Could be. Or is the impeachment spectacle a different kind of set-up: to make the forthcoming raft of indictments against RussiaGate coupsters look like a mere act of revenge rather than long-delayed justice for a three-year campaign of perfidious sedition by some of the highest officials in the land?

Anyway, after another day of this boresome torment, the Senate will get to hear Mr. Trump’s defense in a full-throated way — really for the first time since the whole nasty business began, and in a conspicuous venue where it can’t be ignored anymore. If nothing else, it will probably be more interesting and certainly more dignified than the idiotic vaudeville put on by Schiff & Nadler. Even if the President’s managers move to dismiss the case out-of-hand for its utter lack of merit and the legal errors in its construction by two House committees, I doubt they will miss the opportunity to use the time allotted to lay out the story of what actually happened the past three years — a crime spree of government against itself.

The temptation to call witnesses must be anguishing, though; from a legal standpoint the House’s case deserves to be thrown out summarily just to reestablish the principle that impeachment is not a frivolity. But the nation would miss the chance for Mr. Schiff to have to explain exactly what happened around the “whistleblower” episode and, of course, there would be no more possible excuses for producing the “whistleblower” him-or-herself in the witness dock. I think we would discover what an absolutely shady operation that was.

In the meantime, an interesting development flew in under the radar as the impeachment spectacle hogged the news: The Department of Justice yesterday declared two of four FISA warrants against Carter Page invalid. The warrants were signed by James Comey, Andrew McCabe, and Rod Rosenstein. The move has deep repercussions in everything connected to the RussiaGate investigation, including especially the prosecutions mounted by Robert Mueller’s lawyers. It implies what has already been demonstrated by other evidence: That the FBI and the DOJ knew by January of 2017 at the latest that all the information they used to start the case against the President was garbage, and yet they continued it anyway — including the appointment of Mr. Mueller and his commission. The DOJ’s statement about the two FISA warrants doesn’t negate the possibility that the other two will also be declared invalid. It’s time for the figures involved in all this to become very afraid.

Excellent! Perhaps when China takes over the US after the bankruptcy they will entertain us all by eating live US senators and congressional representatives.

What are the odds the coronavirus was engineered in a lab? And in whose lab? Any day now I expect to hear Rachel Maddow blaming it on Putin.

      • JohnAZ January 24, 2020 at 11:29 am #

Nah, gotta blame it on Trump,

Somehow. Boardrooms at the DNC, WaPo and NYT are working it now.

      • draupnir January 24, 2020 at 11:44 am #

There is a fairly new level 4 biolab right in the middle of Wuhan, apparently put up, as is normal practice in China, on the cheap. Chances are, quality was skimped in favor of lining pockets. Who knows how well staff have been trained? The possibility of the accidental release of a weaponized virus cannot be discounted. This is far worse than they are letting on. It is unheard of for a government to quarantine a city larger than New York. At the time, the illness had only around 600 reported cases and was reported to have the sort of impact we expect from the seasonal flu, with mortality rates principally among the old, those with preexisting conditions or the immunologically compromised. The reaction seems excessive, unless they know something they aren’t saying, which is, of course, the case. They have quarantined at least three other cities with populations in excess of a million. They have cancelled Chinese New Year, for heaven sake. This is going to shave billions from their GDP and certainly risks civil unrest, which is anathema to the party. All of this is doubtless too little, too late. I have seen videos of people falling down in the street or while standing in line. I saw a video of a doctor having hysterics. The hospitals are begging for assistance and supplies. They have called out the military to enforce the quarantine. The thing is popping up all over the world. There was a case in Oregon, two in Texas, and today a case was just reported in Chicago this morning. I am considering taking my mother out of the rehab center early, and will do so as soon as a case appears in Minneapolis.

It all reminds me of Stephen King’s classic novel “The Stand”. The theme song for the TV miniseries was “Don’t Fear the Reaper” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SQXqZ8JJktw

And the Chinese workers have been ordered to build an entire hospital in SIX DAYS is realistic!

This hospital is supposed to be used to quarantine and treat patients with the virus.

If they don’t make the deadline they will probably be sent to camps.

I haven’t yet heard of cases in Africa, but I’m concerned that an Ebola sufferer will contract it. Viruses routinely exchange genetic material and we could end up with an airborne Ebola too.

Chinese students are due back this next week for the spring semesters of University of Wisconsin system colleges. UW-Stout, Eau Claire, and LaCrosse campuses being just across the river. If allowed back to school, these students will of course be coming through the Minneapolis airport.
Some UW system admins have been nurturing relationships in China for the past several years in order for increased Chinese students to prop up the declining student population. We’re not talking 5 or 6 kids here.

        • AKlein January 25, 2020 at 9:49 am #

Years ago a good friend, who had been part of the US intelligence apparatus, told me about a verbal exchange between Nehru and Mao regarding nuclear war. Regarding the effect of a nuclear exchange, Mao allowed that China could absorb a population loss of 300 million and still successfully maintain their civilization. Presumably, this would apply to any other kind of cataclysmic event, not just nuclear war. I leave it to the reader to evaluate how this might apply to current events.

          • Exscotticus January 26, 2020 at 2:06 am #

So could the USA—if it was the right 300 million.

      • WayfaringStranger January 25, 2020 at 12:38 am #

The naturally existing coronavirus could have been engineered to be more contagious or something, harder to treat etc.
But an even safer bet is (in my opinion) that some nefarious government persons are, if nothing else studying the means, patterns, and speed of pandemic transfer with the intent of being better able to implement a bioweapon that is truly lab-created.
As we know, governments have had no qualms in the past when it comes to experimenting on their own people. And doing exactly that type of epidemic analysis.

        • elysianfield January 26, 2020 at 12:19 pm #

          Stranger,
Well, nature does not need any help engineering devil bugs. It has been reported on the BBC, this AM, that the virus is contagious when the victim is asymptomatic…other Corona Viruses contagious only when symptoms are present.

Sooo…if you get the sniffles, you may have been contagious for several days.

      • toktomi January 25, 2020 at 2:45 pm #

        @hmuller “the odds…?”

Your answer may be no more illusive than to imagine first what in the whole wide world you would do if you had $Trillions and virtually the entire planet at your disposal.

That is one of the tipsy little mental trips that everyone who wonders about issues of substance and logic, I would offer, ought to spend a few weekends exploring inside and outside their skull. What would I do?

Have you ever wondered about the machinations behind the Fed hitting the brakes on the economy [tightening] and then moving their foot over to the accelerator for a bit? It felt a like marginal timing adjustment to me, and HERE we are, perhaps.

The questions of the hour now, of course, are 1) is this a thing and 2) if it is a thing will it be for real or CGI. See, it’s not necessary for anything to be perceptibly real because the population of most of the richly industrialized world is at the psychological breaking point and can be made to believe any-fucking-thing that the ruling elite happen to throw a few bucks at.

“[A]n interesting development flew in” for sure, but it had nothing to do with the totally ignorable silliness that transpires in and around the DC haunts of the psychopaths hired to be the face of the population control industry.

Now, for good measure, for “[t]hose who were only puzzling over Nancy Pelosi’s motives”, I say, to quote a very famous man, “blow it out your ass!” “It’s all bullshit, folks, and it’s bad for ya.” [“georgie”]

I’m reading “Tavistock Institute” by Estulin. Yes, THEY play so many mind games with us, it’s hard to know what’s real. The author claims just creating widespread confusion and insecurity throughout society is one control tactic.

Some think the endgame involves destroying the middle class and creating a two-tiered society in which the vast majority of us become serfs, i,e, debt slaves. We’re half way there already.

“What are the odds the coronavirus was engineered in a lab?”

There is a website called Great Game India that has a post on this. I got it from Zerohedge, but I have no idea how reputable the site is – take it with a grain of salt. I did search a bit and the part about some Chinese scientists being barred last summer from a Canadian Level 4 lab for stealing viruses is true. The Great Game website is down a lot, maybe under attack.

        Here’s the Zerohedge re-post:

In a over crowded environment, disease comes out of nowhere. This virus has attacked a populace that is carrying on business as usual. Personal space is non-existent. Imagine trying to control an airborne vector in NYC subway.

A source of concern regarding viruses, they are finding old viruses from thousands of years ago in the thawing tundra in Canada and Alaska. That makes them new viruses. Did this corona virus come from Siberia? What is out there waiting?

They did that in an apparent fit of hubris, disinterring an Inuit some years ago, who died in the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic. One of my grandmothers was a young wife at that time and lost her husband and infant daughter to the flu. She never spoke of that in my hearing, but my father said that it was winter and the ground was frozen. The dead couldn’t even be buried. When the funeral home ran out of room, her father’s property being nearby, he consented to allow the City of St. Cloud to store victim’s bodies in his barn until the thaw. My grandmother always kept the only photo she had of her lost child and she was buried with it.

        • Beryl of Oyl January 24, 2020 at 12:13 pm #

There’s a theory that Lyme Disease was lab created. You’ve probably heard it.
Something that really angered me, was hearing my representative, Kirsten Gillibrand, making like a populist or something, when she was running for president, telling an audience that DC didn’t do anything (such as acting on Lyme Disease) unless the people made them do it, “and that’s us”.
How long had she been in office, how long had Lyme Disease been a growing problem, and she waited until it reached alarming proportions until pledging to maybe do something about it once she became president?
My other rep, Chuck, was more concerned about Zika and Ebola than disease that threatened New Yorkers.

Similar to Bernie and Liz’ belated concern for student loan debt. They will do something about a racket they both benefitted financially from, once they get in a higher office.
BTW, it was Joe Biden who “solved” the then minuscule problem of students coming out of college owing large sums of money, and immediately declaring bankruptcy, by legislation permanently barring student loan debt holders from any bankruptcy debt relief other Americans can take advantage of.
This is what happens when you have people with brain damage in positions of power, but he can’t be held solely responsible for bad legislation.
Bernie and Liz’ “fix” is a cop out that doesn’t get to the bottom of the scam.

          • sophia January 24, 2020 at 8:50 pm #

            Beryl,

How did Bernie and Liz benefit from the student loan situation?

          • toktomi January 25, 2020 at 2:56 pm #

            @Beryl

I would offer, politicians do not have brain damage. They are among the brightest people in the population. What they have is psychopathy.

Also, I would offer that they are not is positions of power. They are merely hired guns put there by those who do have some power who are controlled at length by those who have the real power, put there to execute the dirty job of keeping the unwashed masses in check.

Vote early and vote often. The algos are expecting your data points.

toktomi, I agree fully. That’s why every time we throw the bums out we get new bums beholden to the same dark interests.

Except Trump seemed to break that pattern.

          • hmuller January 26, 2020 at 9:54 am #

I wish I could agree, Exscot. But there have been so many Trump appointees from Wall Street, so many war-mongering Neocons, so many ineffective prosecutors (Sessions and Huber). Jeffrey Epstein killed in his cell so he couldn’t testify against the elite. So many military strikes based on bogus deep state propaganda, like Assad supposedly using chemical weapons.

It should give you pause to think. If Trump knew what he was doing why would he appoint so many people only to fire them later. He is surrounded by bad advice from secretly planted enemies and he scarcely seems to know it. Good luck on that swamp cleaning project.

    • SoftStarLight January 24, 2020 at 11:40 am #

That behavior seems so distasteful and alien. It seems like the coronavirus may have been manufactured. The city where it began supposedly had a state of the art bioweapons lab built within the last few years. This could be the beginning of a worldwide pandemic and of course we here in the US will be helpless against it since we have no borders and anyone and everyone can move in and out of the country freely and without impunity.

It sounds like you are saying that health of the US population in this particular issue is a matter of national border security.

And are you still buying the official 911 narrative?

Let me offer, if this thing is designed to get jiggy, either as an actual pandemic or as a CGI mock-up, then it is coming; if it has not been designed to wreak some confusion and destruction then it won’t, borders and everything else be damned.

For those like me who still find themselves lost in the details of this whole sordid mess, I found this article yesterday that summarized it all fairly succinctly and quite accurately:

I’d say that’s at least a bonus. Nancy’s heart doesn’t seem to be in any of this, so perhaps she’s just following orders from the Dragon Queen, herself?

      • venuspluto67 January 24, 2020 at 10:38 am #

You have to admit, it’s awfully suspicious that Pelosi delayed delivering the articles of impeachment to the Senate for as long as she did. Almost as though she were precisely timing it for something….

        • hmuller January 24, 2020 at 10:58 am #

That may have been the plan, but it backfired. The less Iowans see of Bernie, the better they like him. He’s taken the lead in some polls.

It is interesting that the president can’t “investigate a political rival”, but Bernie gets a say in removing the only opposition he will face should he get the nomination.
Why do any of the people running to run against President Trump get to do this?

      • JohnAZ January 24, 2020 at 11:11 am #

It is ironic that the Queen is attacking Bernie now. Also Obama and the mayor of Chicago. Labeling him with the worst insider insult of all, “you cannot beat Trump.”

    • SW January 24, 2020 at 10:52 am #

If that’s the strategy it’s working beautifully. They’re the only two left on the stage who want to take on the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry and pull out of the Middle East. Both see the mendacious, exploitive student loan racket for what it is and want to end it. So these crazy ideas must be stopped! Even Hillary rose from her coffin and shrilly denounced Bernie with her usual venom.

The hypocrisy on display in the Senate is stunning. But you might be surprised how many are falling for it. A friend just yesterday said she was just “mesmerized by how brilliant the Democrats are and what a great case they’ve put together for impeachment.” I watched for a couple of hours and all I saw was tedious rehashing and trite moralizing.

I am looking forward to seeing these idiots crying when the acquittal happens. I will guarantee you that the next action is already being cooked up by even more desperate Dems to “get Trump”.

That should be the Dem motto this year, “Get Trump”.

      • Soloview January 24, 2020 at 11:40 am #

Yes, many (and Jim may included) be surprised how many people are falling for the plot of this theatre of the absurd. Problem is, most TV talking heads are mesmerizing their captive audience and don’t grasp the nature of the turmoil brought about the passions of the on the opposite side. You listen to Hannity, Ingraham, Carlson and you can just marvel at the blind spots in their vision of the world, which are just as huge as in Wolf Blitzer’s, Anderson Cooper’s, and Madcow Rachel’s. How many Americans actually see Adam Schiff as the execrable liar and demagogue that he is? Say, among the 70+ percent who are want to hear from “witnesses” that would testify to what was going in Trump’s head in July and August last year? How many among them would want to hear from Eric Ciaramella about the meeting he called into Obama’s Oval Office in January 2016 (as per Laura Ingraham last night), to discuss the bad optics of the Bidens’ involvement in Ukraine? Yes, you would be surprised. For the record: I don’t believe Trump will be reelected in November, even if Dow Jones goes over 30K. Expect hell, not an election in 2020!

        • JohnAZ January 24, 2020 at 12:00 pm #

You may be right about 2020. We are about to see what the primaries are like without candidates present.

        • Goodwalkspoiled January 24, 2020 at 1:03 pm #

It’s no surprise over half of the general population have swallowed the Schiff sandwich hook, line, and sinker. No surprise at all. The Dems have a clear majority and the media has saturated the landscape with anti-Trump propaganda. As to the 70+ percent who want to hear witnesses, many of those are Republicans who want to watch Hunter, Joe, Adam Schiff, and the whistle blower ripped to shreds by the defense team. They will be picking shards of glass from their backsides, and taking a dump standing up for months. But the Dems will never open that door. This whole ruse is designed to pick up Senate seats in vulnerable GOP states. The Dems know full well they have no chance of winning the White House. So the strategy is to neuter Trump’s second term with an obstructionist Congress. They’ll impeach him again, no doubt, later in his 2nd term to set the table for Dems controlling both houses of Congress and the White House. Then they’ll go ‘all-in’ Socialist.

        • Nightowl January 24, 2020 at 3:13 pm #

I don’t think he will lose, but I think there will be unprecedented levels of election fraud.

But I also think Trump and his team are prepared. This is another issue he has touched on more than once, and they’ve kept all the big investigations pretty quiet so far.

I think the only reason Trump won in 2016 is that enraged Bernie voters went Trump, and the victory was overwhelming enough that the suspected fraud in CA and NY, SpyGate, and the bought-and-paid-for MSM were not enough to tip the scales.

This is why we see such unhinged bloodlust. She truly was not supposed to lose, and they thought they had tilted the board enough that it was impossible for her to do so.

The DOJ is corrupt so expecting anything substantial from them is unlikely. My take on the Trump saga is he swore to follow and up hold the Constitution and the laws of out land. He has repeatedly failed to do either. He should be impeached on this failure alone.

Over the past three and a half years, Donald Trump has been investigated more thoroughly than any person in the history of the USA – and no law enforcement agency has found evidence of a crime. Perhaps you know of a crime they don’t? If you cannot name the specific statute he violated, and how, you might be suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, which is not a joke – it is a serious mental illness.

      • Beryl of Oyl January 24, 2020 at 11:09 am #

I mentioned this about him before, that he is actually very law abiding.
If there were something wrong with his taxes, for instance, the IRS would have said so.
His biggest critics resort to personal attacks when they go looking for dirt on him, because the crime isn’t there.

        • Janos Skorenzy January 24, 2020 at 12:15 pm #

Yes, the Tax Laws are wrong, allowing his class to get away with endless financial shenanigans – but that’s another story.

The burden of proof is on the accuser.

They all start wars without the declaration of war from Congress as required by the constitution. They act as imperial presidents without the checks and balances the constitution requires. Obama was particularly good at this as is Trump.

The only item that comes to mind is the Soleimani affair, but there is the issue of the attack ordered on the US Embassy as well as other claims from Pompeo.

The strike on Soleimani was also backed by our European allies, including the globalist crowd, so I suspect the evidence against Sol. is likely the real deal. Someone would be making a lot of noise and providing counter evidence were it not.

    • Beryl of Oyl January 24, 2020 at 10:46 am #

That’s not too hard to visualize, considering it was a Bernie supporter who nearly killed Steve Scalise, and a couple of his current staffers have been advocating for burning cities and starting a violent revolution if the election should not go the way they want it to.
So far Bernie hasn’t mentioned that, maybe he’s hoping it will go away.

      • SoftStarLight January 24, 2020 at 11:35 am #

I believe that the “revolutionaries” within Bernie’s campaign are Clinton plants. I could be wrong but it just seems like another way to discredit Bernie and his campaign once again. The Clintons would support a violent revolution and the burning of cities if it meant they could hold onto and grow their power. Look at what they did in Iraq, Somalia, Libya, etc.

I think one reason it is hard to fathom why Nancy is doing some of the things she is doing, is because like most of the major crimes the get up to, there are multiple reasons for the things they do, because there are multiple aspects they want to keep hidden.

Also, Nancy is getting her orders from on high, these old old old and decrepit, and rich officials aren’t hanging around for their health, they are hanging around because they can’t afford to let anybody new, even from their own party, get in there and see what they have done.

Feinstein had a Chinese spy working for her. For twenty years. She held a high position in national security. Why is she still there?
Is that the reason she orchestrated that horrible attack on Justice Kavanaugh?
Chuck employed a Pakistani spy, as did the head of the DNC.
    What was up with that?

Ask a realtor sometime, when there are mass foreclosures and evictions like we saw in the aftermath of the last real estate bubble, what frequently happens to the property before it gets vacated.
I’m referring to things like towels stuffed down toilets, garbage strewn, even furnaces and plumbing stripped. Anything short of arson. Why? Just to do as much damage, and cause as much trouble as possible, on the way out.
I think there is also an element of this in play.

    • Nightowl January 24, 2020 at 11:20 am #

It is the reversal/destruction of globalism. Trump has said it in plain language in his own speeches on multiple occasions. He also commented about what he “will do to them” will be one of the greatest achievements of his presidency (referring to the cabal behind the coup).

The individuals attacking him are feeding at the trough and Ukraine is one of their nesting areas.

Trump & co. aren’t just putting up a brick wall in their faces, he is slashing and burning their fields, IMO.

  9. erik January 24, 2020 at 11:02 am #

Jim, methinks maybe you’re getting red pilled after all these years? As one of your contemporaries and A life long liberal Democrat, that has happened to me very recently, but a year or two before 2016. The catalyst for me was the Obama/Hillary foreign policy pratfalls and the utterly stupid explosion of “grievance studies” inspired twaddle about identity politics, gender bullshit, and “diversity is our strength” open borders insanity. And now we have carbon neutral stuff inspired by the autistic swedish avatar of climate change imminent doom, with all its terrible economic implications for the “deplorables” facing punitive fuel taxes, etc. Climate doom is a hoax. Even if we stipulate that world average temperature may rise a degree or 2 due to fossil fuel use, the notion that this would be a catastrophe is pure science fiction with zero supporting evidence.

With all the Republican policies that I have always been repelled by, I still find them more appealing than the cultural suicide agenda of today’s Democrats..

Adaptation to slow warming will be the future, until we run out of fossil fuels. Then the fit will really hit the Shan.

      • GreenAlba January 24, 2020 at 1:28 pm #

“Adaptation to slow warming will be the future”

And yet you are aware, JohnAZ, that there is no precedent in geological history for the current rate of warming. But you think we can adapt, while the ecosystem that supports us falls apart (protecting it is for wimps and commies). American-style positive thinking considers itself a virtue, even after the last financial crash. 🙂

And you are also aware that the warming predicted so far has surpassed the rate estimated by scientists, they being naturally conservative and disinclined to the kind of sensationalism beloved of scientifically illiterate journalists.

        Cognitive dissonance.

        https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms14845

But I agree with you that nothing will be done about it, because nothing politically acceptable has yet been figured out. And politics trumps reality – until it doesn’t. What will happen is that when oil supplies collapse, the problems that result will be hugely exacerbated by the effects of climate change. Crops failing through drought and floods just when there’s no mechanisation and no artificial fertiliser (and dwindling available phosphates to boot – a true clusterfuck). Cities flooding more than ever when there’s no means of rehabilitating them.

As Bacon said, people prefer to believe what they would prefer to be true. Except for those who have the insight to accept evidence of what they wish were not true. Bacon covers most folks though. Same on the oil depletion issue – probably more so in fact.

No1. We do not know that for sure. The Earth has been much warmer than it is now, and much colder. We are not helping much, one way or the other.

Who knows maybe the dinosaurs went extinct because of global warming from too many Saurus farts.

Yes, I think we can adapt, but not nearly all of us. Between disease and war, it will take out at least half of the current population.

Politics is a reflection of the people. I believe really dumb people, especially celebrities, do not even understand what they are saying. If the GND was dropped on us tomorrow, that half the population would be gone in a year. Compared to what is coming, the Black Death is a mild cold. Even the folks that understand all the ramifications will not change, it is up to everyone else to change.

I will tell you something else too. The only candidate that will really do something realistic about warming is Trump. He is the only one who has the cojones to face down his opposition. If the Greta group can convince him of what is coming, things will happen. The Dems will not do anything to fight the corporations and Wall Street. Obama was evidence of that.

          • fugeguy January 24, 2020 at 4:48 pm #

I love the reference to rate of change. Like this is the fastest change in climate ever…

… something about large mastodons frozen with half chewed buttercups in their mouths comes to mind.

Funny thing is that we all seem very pragmatic here. We all agree that as long as there is a dollar to be make on fossil fuels the current system will continue. So all he debate is moot anyway.

What gets me (as an empiricist) is that no matter how often the models/ theories are off by 100% or multiples, he77 even an order of magnitude, we get subjected to lectures as to how perfect they are and sacrosanct. Again from an empirical perspective the postulates do not even meet single sigma criteria for repeatability let alone the 3 or preferable 6 sigma level of correlation and predictive value needed to qualify as scientific law.

Yea climate change is real but the idea that the cause is know, let alone the fix is absurd. Could be mostly sun cycle induced (the correlations for that are much better than C02).

          • GreenAlba January 24, 2020 at 8:04 pm #

Nonsense, Fugeguy. If current warming is driven by the sun why is it the lower atmosphere that is warming faster than the upper atmosphere?

“The Earth has been much warmer than it is now, and much colder.”

That’s not even contentious. But it remains a fact that warming now is happening much faster than it EVER has before. Organisms just don’t adapt that easily – it takes time. You are of course welcome to say you know better than the evidence of the geological record if you so choose. There’s a lot of presumption about.

Arguing about it is pointless if we’re not going to do anything about it, but dishonesty pisses me off per se. If we’re doing the damage we’re doing, even if we can’t fix it we should be man enough to own up to what we’re doing.

I agree the population is going to take a massive hit, both through energy collapse and climate change. One or other would be bad enough.

” Like this is the fastest change in climate ever…”

Typical denier tactic. Nobody said it was the fastest ‘change in climate ever’ – it’s was the fastest episode of WARMING, which mammoths freezing isn’t, if you think about it for half a second.

Oh, give it a rest, hm. You’re sounding as shrill as a stubborn, old creationist who won’t admit the evidence of science has totally discredited his dogma.

          • GreenAlba January 26, 2020 at 8:41 am #

‘Climate change’ is related to ‘global warming’ – they are not synonymous. The more tragic among the ‘shrill’ deniers like to pretend there has been a change in tactic by using one instead of the other. It’s a tactic that serves as a substitute in their mind for evidence. If they could cope with any search engine they could put themselves right in an instant, but they don’t. Deniers of evidence are like that.

I’m sorry to see that your ad hominem approach is continuing into the new year – I thought we’d got somewhere at the end of the old one. You could have told me something I didn’t know about the relationship between CC and AGW, but no, you go straight to the age-old practice of employing manipulative adjectives. Well done you. I liked you better at the end of last year.

          • hmuller January 26, 2020 at 10:03 am #

It’s no use telling you anything which violates your dogma; you always dismiss it as bollocks and rubbish.

And I like you better when you discuss other issues. Leave AGW to the wise and learned Greta Thunberg. LOL

          • GreenAlba January 26, 2020 at 1:36 pm #

“It’s no use telling you anything which violates your dogma; you always dismiss it as bollocks and rubbish.

I give you evidence, hm, and you don’t like it. Sorry but that’s your problem. Although in many ways it’s everyone’s problem as a result.

I have no particular interest in Greta. ‘Celebritisation’ rarely helps any cause in the long term, I find. It turns things into a nine days wonder. I’ve followed her a lot less than all the folks on here with GDS.

Greta knows half a story. But I’m willing to cut her a bit of slack, given she means well and the half of the story that she knows is still true. And that for all we know she might not live to see 25, as I’ve said before, so I don’t feel like attacking her from my comfy livingroom as I get nearer to the departure lounge after a much longer life than hers.

If people could divest themselves of their dogmatic refusal to accept the half story that’s true, we could get on to an adult discussion of the other half of the story. Even if it were only to work through the five stages of grief.

Wonderful news, praise God!, but a word of caution. Republicans are equally as destructive as Democrats. They as a whole are totally sold out to the entire Left agenda and Open Borders as well. They cannot seem to develop their own narrative and paradigm so they go along with what was created for them. We will need something entirely new to defeat and destroy the cancerous rot.

    • Ishabaka January 25, 2020 at 10:21 am #

Climate studies are no longer a science – they are a religion – on both sides. Scientists can hold reasonable debates over an issue. Religious scholars KNOW theirs is the only true religion.

      • GreenAlba January 26, 2020 at 1:46 pm #

Scientists’ job isn’t to debate, it’s to research and produce evidence, which is what they do. People who don’t do actual science then ‘debate’ about whether they like the evidence or not.

The Deep State’s biggest fear. If they fully unpeel the onion, it may cut very deeply into the Fed good ol’ boys (and girls’) clubs. When the impeachment fails, look to the DS to target Barr and try to destroy his credibility. Trump needs to protect him to the nth degree if he truly wants to drain the swamp.

It is really strange and not in a comical way. Same thing with Chuck Schumer. His forehead in particular is as massive as an airport runway. Well not really, but it does stand out prominently. Jeffrey Epstein has a massive cranium and forehead too.

Aside from death rattle spasms from entrenched interests; like False Flag attack events (Battleship Maine/Tonkin Gulf) events, etc. there is a particularly significant happening afoot: The so called “Deal Of The Century”, Middle East Treaty intended to bring peace to Israel and the poor bastards thinking they have the upper hand because they surround Israel.

For background on meddling with Israel, see Bill Koenig’s narrative on what happens when you mess with Israel, his book: “EYE TO EYE”. More often than mere coincidence, when a sovereign state or organization chooses to bring harm to Israel, they suffer worse results, in quality & quantity. For common understanding, Jerusalem is described as a “Stumbling Block” for the nations.

Taking or dividing Israel results in taking and dividing of the nation or organization or persons doing the action against Israel. Mainline Methodist Church activities against Israel (BDS for example) has gotten them deep schisms. So, whatever impacts the Deal of the Century has on Israel’s Covenant Borders (see Genesis 15 v 9-21 & Joshua Chapter 1), America can expect likewise.

Be it as it may, the thoroughly not so modern atheism expressed in these parts, Deuteronomy Chapter 28 exposition of Blessings & Curses gives context to current events waiting in the wings.

Fair Warning. Todays’ gaggle of murderous dictators have their moment, and lucky enough to come at a time when Western Civilization lacks nerve & skill to cut them short.

I wonder what would happen in California if they took the capital they are currently spending on illegals and instead spent it on shelters for the homeless, burying power lines and clearing underbrush and thinning the forests. Good things might happen.

Trump was ridiculed for saying that clearing underbrush and thinning the forests would slow or stop the wildfires,

The White Mountain Apache nation here in Arizona has maintained its monstrous stand of pines for generations. A wildfire about five years ago burned through the East part of the state and guess what happened. It hit the Apache forest and stopped.

Somebody told me, in Germany, you can’t just get a fishing or hunting license, grab your rod or shotgun, and head for the fields and streams, that all sort of special permits are necessary? Is this true ?

        Brh

        • Nightowl January 24, 2020 at 5:12 pm #

          BRH,

That is true, for the most part, on permits. Things are well-regulated, but not in a bad way. You can fish without one, but you have to throw them back (at least where I am).

Countryside is quite beautiful in many areas. Most of the Dörfer are surrounded by farmland, so there is always a good mix of nature and townlife.

Unfortunately I live in NRW, which was Germany’s industrial base during the war. It is mostly flat and there are still a lot of factories, particularly around Essen. But there is also beauty to be found.

A 30 min. drive has me in the Eifel, which has some smaller mountains and is quite picturesque. Castles and palaces are also quite common, which are still neat for me as an American.

The most beautiful areas IMO are in the south. Berchtesgaden is incredible and we go every 2 years.

Let me add, I was surprised to learn not long ago that the brown trout we catch here– stocked from state hatcheries for the most part — were brought over from Germany about 1905. In the 19th century rivers in this part of the country were pretty much dead — lined with tanneries and paper mills, and sewers for industrial waste. Teddy Roosevelt came along, and with Gifford Pinchot (a local guy) cleaned them up ( to make a long story short) Anyway, stocking cleaned up rivers with brown trout from Germany was an experiment — just getting them here is an interesting story in itself. 115 years later I’d say the experiment was successful!

Nothing wrong with mitigation. Mitigation is vital, since continued worsening of the situation is baked in even if we were to stop burning fossil fuels tomorrow, given the decades-long time lag between CO2 and atmospheric warming. Good forest management is part of mitigation. Not having power lines buried in wildfire areas is inexcusable negligence.

The Apaches know what they are doing, got a buddy out in Nebraska, the dry portion of the state. So they had these forest fires raging and in shows up an all Apache hot shot fire fighting team. As my bud said him and the other men of town had to get them Indians out of there, each Apache was taller and better looking than the next. So you keep them Apaches.

“Or is the impeachment spectacle a different kind of set-up: to make the forthcoming raft of indictments against RussiaGate coupsters look like a mere act of revenge rather than long-delayed justice for a three-year campaign of perfidious sedition by some of the highest officials in the land?”

Other than the endless schemes to regain power by any means (which would, of course, stop the above dead in its tracks) that’s EXACTLY what’s been going on since DJT won the 2016 election.

  29. tucsonspur January 24, 2020 at 4:11 pm #

And kudos to you Mr. Kunstler for wading through these abominable impeachment proceedings and presenting a savory synopsis of the Democrats’ sordid solecisms.

I think that I’d rather call them impearment proceedings, since all of these goings on are only undermining the nation.

Yes, it’s all very MAD; Mindlessly Assured Diversion, Mindlessly Assured Division, and Mindlessly Assured Discord. But the Democrats aren’t just diddling, they are trying to dismantle and denigrate any positive image of Trump that remains in the minds of his supporters. Chip, chip away. Beware, the Dems are not dead yet, we still have an election coming up, and a terrible, thorny tale of Trump’s taxes may still emerge.

And what’s coming still lurks in the background:

Dinocars and Triceratrucks are still guzzling
    From the Black Lagoons
    Gulping them down
    ‘Till the last teaspoon.

Engines of growth, engines of gloom

  30. JohnAZ January 24, 2020 at 6:01 pm #

How about this narrative to fit what the Dems are doing right now.

Listen to Schiff. We have to get rid of Trump now. We cannot wait for the voters in November because Trump will cheat in the election.

What is this guy up to?

How about dump Trump, start impeachment against Pence for cooperation with Trump, get Pelosi in as President, then cancel the election in November.

The coup is a fait Accompli.

That is where this idea of cheap impeachment is going to lead, uniparty control.

Weird…. Maybe they’re all Corrupt, so their hands are tied? It’s all obviously theater. The politicians are basically actors who put on a show that they actually oppose each other when in reality it’s an Oligarchical Uni-Party in which the politicians and the Democratic and Republican parties milk-the-system. THIS is Hysterically funny,

Jay Robert “J. B.” Pritzker (born January 19, 1965) is an American businessman, philanthropist, and politician serving as the 43rd Governor of Illinois. He is a private business owner based in Chicago and a managing partner and co-founder of the Pritzker Group, and a member of the Pritzker family which owns the Hyatt hotel chain. He has an estimated personal net worth of $3.4 billion.[1]

Pritzker was the Democratic nominee for governor of Illinois in the 2018 gubernatorial election.[2] He defeated Republican incumbent Bruce Rauner in the general election on November 6, 2018, and took office on January 14, 2019.[3] As governor, he holds more private wealth than any other governor in U.S. history and is the second-wealthiest U.S. politician to have ever held office, after Michael Bloomberg. [talk bout Pri vi lege].

    AND

“Most people are not fortunate,” he said.

They must’ve looked far and wide to find a black firefighter making almost $100k with a legitimate gripe.

And really, only partially legitimate. This dolt parked his car at a private lot. Private. He was issued 77 summonses (?) over a 90 day period? WTF? How do you NOT adjust your behavior to NOT get tickets?

90 days in the same spot? That doesn’t sound like someone who ‘needs their car for work’.

That sounds a lot like an idiot.

Last week … Murabek Soulamaine, age 19, community member and Muslim, from New Haven, held up a cell phone store with a knife in Milford, roughed up the clerk, got a cellphone, hailed an Uber ride for a getaway, threatened the uber driver with his knife, stole the uber car, then led state police on a 100 mph high speed chase into East Haven. To make a long story short troopers ended up shooting him after they boxed him in finally and he drove toward them. He died at the scene. Now the Community is up in arms. Protests are scheduled; none other than Al Sharpton is making an appearance. I doubt if the protests will evolve into full scale riots as it is pretty cold out right now and it needs to be at least 75°F for riots to break out, usually. The protesters case is pretty weak, but in these sort of events, like we saw at Ferguson, Mo., hard facts don’t seem to matter.

No. And nor did I comment on akmofo’s rib counting, since he didn’t mention it.

Concentrate on the paragraph that’s got the bold bit in it, hm. That’s the important one – er, that’s why it’s got the bold bit (my bold). The first quoted sentence is just by way of an introduction because the question in the source was about the number of ribs, and the explanation of the actual delusion led on from that.

Sorry I needed to explain that.

“An assertion addressed in some publication no one in this forum cited (except you)? Is that what you’re saying?”

No. Let me try again. The first bit is included because without it the second bit would have made no sense to include. Look at the wording. ‘This myth’ refers to para 1, therefore I left it there, for context.

The point made by akmofo was that the rib story was not just symbolic but LITERAL. That was the point which I was, rather obviously, refuting, while pointing out that no religious leaders of ANY DENOMINATION hold this myth to be anything other than symbolic. That last bit is important. And since the source said it in those words that was the source I used.

As if such a thing should need to be refuted by sane people. But there we are. As I said, CFN can be weird.

            Am I impeached yet?

          • akmofo January 25, 2020 at 11:28 pm #

Mrs Green, my view is that every word and syllable in the TaNaKh is the LITERAL TRUTH. Same regards all ancient history which today we call “myth”. These “myths” tell us a truth which most do not understand today, because our environment has changed so much that we no longer even have a reference point to which we can recognize a similarity to the truths of these ancient histories that are now called “myths”.

But that is changing, because the “heretic” and victim of the modern Vatican inquisition, Immanuel Velikovsky, opened a new universe of understanding for us in the 1950s that is most fantastic. Many are now understanding the errors in modern thinking and the complete revisions that whole sciences will have to undergo to again illuminate ancient truths that were lost to us.

It’s fine to be a skeptic, but you need to be curious skeptic. Learn what I’ve learned. You will be surprised how much more interesting and spectacular God and our world is.

          • GreenAlba January 26, 2020 at 8:18 am #

            akmofo

“Mrs Green, my view is that every word and syllable in the TaNaKh is the LITERAL TRUTH. ”

I am perfectly aware that is your view. Such is your prerogative. But a little humility might benefit you in the matter. Lots of people think every word in the New Testament is LITERAL TRUTH too, even when it contradicts itself.

“Same regards all ancient history which today we call “myth”.

There is ancient history and there is myth. Some myth is true (ancient history), some is merely fantasy, symbolism and story-telling. People interested in literal truth have gone to great lengths to distinguish one from the other, with greater or lesser success.

“These “myths” tell us a truth…”

All stories, whether literally true or not, may tell us ‘a truth’.
This is not even contentious among normal people with a minimum of insight.

Again, you are welcome to believe Immanuel Velikovsky’s unusual theories if it pleases you, which it clearly does.

‘It’s fine to be a skeptic, but…Learn what I have learned’

Not presumptuous at all. 🙂 But yes, it is indeed fine to be a sceptic, whether a Jewish one, a Christian one, a Muslim one (more power to their elbow, those who dare) or a humanist one.

          GA.

C’mon. Women have been getting ribbed by men for a million years. And vice versa.

          The Bible is symbolic.

But an interesting question is, who was the first Cro-Magnon human, a man or a woman. How does a species mutate, through the female or the male? How many different strains of humans are there?

Adam and Eve were the first in the line of the strain originating in the Mesopotamia region, the direct ancestor of Abram, the fore father of the Hebrews. The Bible is the history of the Hebrew strain.

          • SoftStarLight January 25, 2020 at 2:02 pm #

Actually all the Neanderthal genes that humans still carry are on the X chromosome. The human Y chromosome does not have any Neanderthal DNA. So something is going on there? Maybe that means Adam was a Cro-Magnon and Eve was a Neanderthal? They also say that it’s possible we inherited the genes for light skin, hair, and eye colors from Neanderthal ancestors.

          • Janos Skorenzy January 25, 2020 at 2:56 pm #

Yes and Schiff and Co are the Melonheads who genocided us when we were Neanderthals. But the Cro Mag savages found the daughters of Men fair, and instead of killing them as ordered, lay with them instead.

          • SoftStarLight January 25, 2020 at 6:20 pm #

You’ll have to explain to me who the Melonheads are when you can. If we were Neanderthals and they were not, and they weren’t Cro-Magnons either then who were/are they? Have you ever heard of the Denisovans? They were possibly related to Neanderthals and lived in Siberia. However it looks like they migrated towards Australia and the islands and became the ancestors of the Australian Aborigines and Melanesians.

          • Janos Skorenzy January 25, 2020 at 7:13 pm #

SSL: No one knows who they are – except possibly their descendants – and they ain’t talking. An alien race from another world or “just” a different human species?

In order to emulate these ancient aristocrats, people would bind and distort the skulls of their children. But no matter how spectacular the results, the size of the skull and brain could never be increased by such measures. And the skulls of this race were much larger than ours. Preliminary genetic testing indicates that they weren’t human at all. Or at least of an unknown and far removed strain of humanity.

            https://www.theepochtimes.com/the-world-wide-mysterious-phenomena-of-elongated-skulls_809235.html

Check out a few of skulls. Mention it to anyone and see the reactions. The more educated, the more in denial. Many of the Pharaohs were of this race. But Egyptologists will say, that was just the design of the headdress or artistic license. But we have the skulls and it was neither of those things, but simple physical reality.

Wow, very interesting and scary! I had heard of skull binding but never that skulls could naturally be that elongated. And yes, Foerster mentions several populations around the world like the Paracas people living in the same time frame. It almost makes me wonder if these people, if that’s what they are, are the Nephilim of the Bible or who the Sumerians called the Annunaki. The Nephilim are referred to in Genesis as the men of old and men of renown. It seems extreme at least in my opinion to bind the skull of your child but the ancients must have really believed that the long heads were like gods and so they wanted their children to have long heads too to be more like gods.

I think that is insensitive of you Alba. Being a humanitarian I would have thought the disappearance of a race of people would have not been something you would take so lightly. Perhaps that’s why you’re not keen to give much credence to concerns about the Great Replacement. But if the natives being replaced are Brown or Blacks then you are probably full of sympathy. Do you hate vanilla monocultures like Cargill?

          • GreenAlba January 26, 2020 at 8:01 am #

Yet again, SSL. not trying to be mean but you do seem to lack both humour and perspective. What am I taking lightly? What would you possibly know about what I take lightly? I don’t assume that I know everything about you from what you write on here – for a start, it’s CFN-filtered like everyone else’s contributions. It’s not YOU. We don’t know YOU, we just have some hints.

Well, obviously I take myths about rib-people lightly, or rather I take them for exactly what they are, which is symbolic of the views of the influential of the time. I do have a concern for the idea that people take unproven myths too seriously because people have murdered one another in huge numbers throughout history to prove their myth was better than someone else’s myth.

But otherwise, where did you see me say anything at all about a disappearing race? I was merely taking the piss out of the miscegenation-horror that thrives about these parts. Normally you don’t like it. But anyway, one minute Eve is Adam’s rib and the next she’s not even the same subspecies of human. And so it goes…

One of my best friends, a friend since my student days, is Creole, from Mauritius. She married a white Northern Irish man – and found it was odd to suddenly be considered a bit alien among his folks not because she was ‘black’, which was her usual experience, but because she was Catholic. They were all civilised, thankfully, and it’s never been a problem on either score. When they had their children they hoped they’d be a lovely coffee colour, because that would make them half and half (in that symbolic way) but they both turned out white. Why do you folks insist such things in people’s personal lives are any of your business?

Then you do your Janos-lite follow on. A deliberately but lightly flippant remark about people’s beliefs regarding Adam/Eve/miscegenation becomes a springboard for you to leap into full-blooded paranoia about my views on ‘The Great Replacement’. I find myself considering that this (the GR theory, since mere theory it is) may even illustrate Toktomi’s point about people’s reaction to happenings having more significance than the actual happening (real or assumed).

And then you continue petulantly with:

“But if the natives being replaced are Brown or Blacks then you are probably full of sympathy. Do you hate vanilla monocultures like Cargill?”

I haven’t seen Cargill mention hating monocultures (although I haven’t checked, so…) – from what I recall s/he merely said they appeared to him/her boring and lacking in flavour. I would have to agree that the Britain of the fifties, although my part of it wasn’t unpleasant, could be a nasty, mean, small-minded place, with its signs saying ‘no blacks, dogs or Irish’ and people looking from behind net curtains to see what fun their neighbours might be having that they could disapprove of. And don’t start me on Ireland – there are shops full of books about it in the ‘Misery Memoir’ section. Give me today’s greater openness and generosity any day.

And don’t presume what makes me ‘full of sympathy’. That’s your projection, nothing more, so keep it to yourself.

            GENESIS 3:

            “So when saw the woman
that good the tree to eat
that pleasant it to the eyes
and desirable the tree is to learn
then she took of its tree and ate”

How did the woman know it was good to eat?
            How did she learn this?
What spoke to her this thing for her to understand and emulate?
What OPENED HER EYES TO SEE?!

Understand what you are reading Mrs Green. Understand who you are following and emulating. Understand that by doing so you are in effect emulating the path to death.

Now to the Hebrew word NACHASH (snake/serpent)
            The world literally mean: SURMISED

You see, Mrs Green, when you don’t understand Hebrew and you don’t wish to understand Hebrew, you are left with following the seesaw slithered path to SURMISED ignorance and death.

          • akmofo January 26, 2020 at 11:27 am #

then she took of its fruit and ate
            .
            NACHASH
            The word literally means: SURMISED

          • akmofo January 26, 2020 at 11:43 am #

The Hebrew word NACHASH is made of two words:
            NA-CHASH

            NA means move
CHASHSHSH is the sound of the snake hisssssssinggggg

NACHASH is also related to the Hebrew word NECHOSHET(copper/brilliance)
The ancients fashioned Copper metal into brilliant blades of death

So you lept into the conversation fine, but with no respect for the tone of the conversation. Ghastly! Say what you want but you know that I do have a sense of humor and perspective. You simply don’t agree with it much of the time which is fine too. Expect to be called out. As I do from you. Secular science agrees that there was an Adam and Eve. You can call them what you want. A primordial father and a primordial mother. Even secularist admit that myths contain at least fragments of truth. And my question about vanilla monocultures was rhetorical as I know where you stand. You are pro-miscegenation and yes, ultimately anti-White. Until and unless you call for the diversification of Angola. Lol, I know, dream on.

“So you lept (sic) into the conversation fine, but with no respect for the tone of the conversation.”

Funny! Because you never leap into conversations to rap people’s knuckles according to your hobby horses.

“You are pro-miscegenation and yes, ultimately anti-White. Until and unless you call for the diversification of Angola. Lol, I know, dream on.”

There you go again. I am neither pro-miscegenation nor anti-miscegenation. I’m pro people like you minding your own business about other people’s personal lives. I didn’t ‘call for’ my friend to marry someone white, although I presume finding a creole husband would have been a bit of a challenge in Fulham. I’m against people telling Angolans who they should marry as well. To my modest mind, that’s none of anyone’s business.

          • SoftStarLight January 26, 2020 at 9:14 pm #

Well maybe you should be pro not getting into my business to remind me to not get into other peoples business which really translates to me not having the right to verbalize my opinion at all.

          • GreenAlba January 27, 2020 at 8:47 am #

Absolutely not. You have a very healthy record of getting your opinions seen on here. I’m specifically talking about your wish to spout about people’s personal lives as if you had the slightest right to tell people that they should marry according to your world view. I hadn’t even heard of the word miscegenation before I came upon this website – and even when I first frequented it, it wasn’t a subject that obsessed commenters at that time.

You can spout all your want, but if you presume to tell people who they should marry, expect responses occasionally.

So why did the sun change then? Are you certain the depicted beams are not just the sun’s natural rays?

      • akmofo January 26, 2020 at 10:29 am #

We have a different Sun today. Our solar system was originally that of Saturn and Jupiter as our Suns. We were later captured by our current Sun. This happened during the Biblical Flood and the time of Noa when Saturn expelled enormous amounts salt water to the Earth as a result of the electric discharge in its interaction with our current sun. That’s why the whole notion of time was different previous to Noa. Methuselah lived 969 years. We didn’t have the current days/nights we have today and the years were different.

        • SoftStarLight January 26, 2020 at 8:44 pm #

Hmmm I have never heard of this before. Salt water from Saturn reached the Earth? And Saturn was a Sun! That sounds pretty outlandish on the face of it. You’ll have to give more details. It is interesting.

          • akmofo January 27, 2020 at 12:01 am #

Ask yourself where did all the Chlorine salt in the seas and oceans come from? It’s not terrestrial, it’s not present in the rocks. So where is it from? These are simple questions, which the Vatican propaganda outlets and science institutions refuse to ask and refuse to answer.

Google: Velikovsky and electric universe, and you’ll get the details you’re asking for and much more!

Salt in the ocean comes from rocks on land

That’s a delusional lie. If it was true there’d be no fresh water lakes on the planet and all the rivers would be salty. There is no such Chlorine salt in the soil and the rocks.

But that’s what happens when you blindly believe the empty SURMISED ignorance of Vatican propaganda. The same Vatican propaganda that’s trying to sell us ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT GLOBAL TYRANNY and SUFFOCATING TAXATION on the back of yet another fraud and war on truth, this time the GLOBAL WARMING climate fraud.

Where is your intelligence, Mrs Green?

            Really, akmofo, get a grip.

Have a long think about the nature of seas and rivers. And lakes.

Water flows in AND OUT of lakes, taking minerals and salts with it. Water only flows INTO seas – it never flows out of them.

If water only flows into a lake and never out of it, it’ll end up salty. Possibly even saltier than the sea. Think Great Salt Lake or the Dead Sea (which is a salt lake).

I shouldn’t need to explain the river thing then, should I?

There, that wasn’t hard, was it?

          • GreenAlba January 27, 2020 at 10:30 am #

“You know the Torah is just made up nonsense. You know everything there is to know. ”

Now you’re just being petulant, akmofo, and throwing your straw men at me. ALL of the Bible is a mixture of historical truth, myth, storytelling and propaganda. In my opinion, naturally, just as it isn’t in yours. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t contain a hefty component of ‘truth’ as in ‘eternal truths’ (in the religious sense for those who are religious, and human for those who are not).

For one who has limited his curiosity to such a narrow range of sources, based largely on confirmation bias, it ill becomes you to accuse others of a lack of curiosity.

Unlike you, I don’t feel the need to cast aspersions on your intelligence.

I am no more or less intelligent now that I don’t believe in God than I was for the decades that I did.

There are thousands of lakes with no access to the sea. They are fresh water lakes. How come?

Did anyone do a calculation of how much Sodium Chloride salt there is in the seas and oceans of the world? Did they do a similar calculation of such salt in the soil and rocks? Did they do a similar calculation of such salt in the flow of river waters to the seas and oceans? What is the basis of your assertion that the salt in the seas and oceans is terrestrial? Surely you had this info available to you to make an informed assertion. Right? You do have this info and you did examine it? Surely you are not simply parroting on blind faith this assertion that the Vatican propaganda outlets SURMISED for you? Let’s see that info, Mrs Green. Let’s see them calculations.

Tough to beat Bogart as Phillip Marlowe in “The Big Sleep”. Dick Powell was a good Marlowe in “Murder, My Sweet”. Robert Mitchum and Robert Montgomery were pretty good also.

Those earlier private eyes from the forties and fifties had ‘it’ in spades. Hard boiled and usually a move ahead. Tough nuts to crack, better bring a black jack.

    Mitchum in “Farewell, My Lovely”:

“I was having lunch in a Chinese restaurant when a dark shadow fell across my chop suey”.

“I sparred with the night clerk for a couple of minutes, but it was like trying to open a sardine can after you broke off the metal lip. There was something about Abraham Lincoln’s picture that loosened him up.”

“This car sticks out like spats at an Iowa picnic.”

“She gave me a smile I could feel in my hip pocket.”

“I like smooth shiny girls, hardboiled and loaded with sin.”

“The wet air was as cold as the ashes of love.”

“The coffee shop smell was strong enough to build a garage on.”

    Thanks to Raymond Chandler.

“I like smooth shiny girls, hardboiled and loaded with sin.” Priceless.

Reminds me of Melanie Griffith’s line in “Working Girl”:

“I have a head for business and a bod for sin.”

How many times can you repeat the same message? At what point do people not take you seriously? Nancy Pelosi not of sound mind? You don’t say. She’s bat-shit crazy. You just noticed? So is everyone else in that lunatic asylum called the Democratic Party. And not just them. Look, just for starters, at the Party’s assistants and acolytes in the press, on those leafy green campuses, in the environmental movement. There hasn’t been as much collective leave-taking of rational senses since the 1930s when the most literate and educated country in Europe became convinced of the urgent necessity of butchering vast swathes of people in their immediate environs.

Yep, so-called “progressives” of all stripes are that nuts in terms of the range and depth of their unhinged thinking, their misperception, inappropriate emoting, unsettled mood and behavioral disorder.  And not just in the USA but in other countries too. A peculiar thing, insanity sweeping the globe, as if it’s contagious, this cognitive coronavirus, a Wuhan Flu of the mind.

What about Bernie’s followers? I would credit more of them with having their oars in the water, being more concerned with real issues. But then what of the Davos Class? I’d say that while they’re not as sick as their Democrat errand boys and may not be as ready for a spell in the Hoo Hoo Hotel, they’re on the spectrum. They may be the shot-callers, the apex predators, and may once have chuckled at the outlandish lies being told at their behest, but it looks like they’ve begun to believe their own bullshit. A fatal thing that.

The hobbling of the mind manifested itself in the rhetoric around the heavily armed demonstrators in Virginia. Was this hoo-hah about gun rights, or mostly about gun rights or about race or White supremacy? Does it really matter? It doesn’t because the salient point here wasn’t about gun rights or that other stuff. So, then, what WAS the point? The point was the sheer fact of their being heavily armed. That was a LOT of firepower on display, a veritable army. While Nancy and her cohorts play their games, there’s multitudes carrying high-powered armaments. Wakey, wakey…

I think there is much more intentionality and planning behind the moves our betters are making. Though surely they use the assistance of those who are at varying levels of cluelessness, there is I believe at least a core of wicked genius that provides them all with a guiding “light”. I mean it’s as good a theory as any right? I just don’t believe they are all dumb and clueless. That is why the tying together of gun rights and White supremacy is so critically important to them. They want to rid the world of all potential armed resistance and White people.

      • volodya January 25, 2020 at 2:08 pm #

What we saw on display in Virginia was a demonstration of armed might.

There is intentionality, no doubt about that, and a lot of planning too, decades worth, plus voluminous bodies of work in philosophy and economics backing up what they’ve done and what they’re up to now. And they make me laugh.

Based on what I’ve seen, I think our betters vastly over-estimate themselves. I think their “intellectuals” in the philosophical and political and economic realm are farcical. And I think the organizers of the demonstration and the demonstrators themselves have it over them.

Why? Because what the folk in Virginia showed our betters is what those same folk know. And what they know is that power comes from the barrel of a gun.

And all those thousands of demonstrators had guns. Otherwise, why parade all that fire-power? Did that lesson penetrate the pea-brains on high? I doubt it. I haven’t yet seen evidence of it as yet.

If the Chinese Coronavirus is not very serious then why are there allegedly 17 cities outside of Wuhan also on lockdown? If 56 million people are under travel restriction or quarantine it really isn’t sounding like just an ordinary strain of coronavirus. Now there are cases in Europe too. And then coincidentally? Back in October researchers at John Hopkins supposedly predicted that a very lethal strain of coronavirus could spread across the globe and kill 65 million people in just 18 months. The problem being that there are no cures for coronavirus. Or I could be overthinking it?

    • JohnAZ January 25, 2020 at 1:24 pm #

And somebody said that the death rate with this coronavirus is about the same as that of the 1918 Spanish Flu. The question in my mind is how contagious this coronavirus is.

        2019-nCoV

It fairly well doesn’t matter “how contagious this coronavirus is”. It matters in this case only how contagious this coronavirus becomes or how contagious the masses believe it is.

        • SoftStarLight January 25, 2020 at 6:45 pm #

Why does it matter how contagious the masses believe it is? Changes in behavior patterns which change the patterns of infection? It seems like an overreaction could help prevent the spread of the virus.

          • toktomi January 25, 2020 at 10:00 pm #

The big wild card and the most important variable in anything societal is the public’s reaction to an event or condition. The resulting behaviors are what matters. For example, the US can cause the death of over three million Vietnamese and it’s a complete non-issue when nobody among the living reacts.

And so it goes with anything, possible pandemic and all. The exact nature of the infection is mostly irrelevant. How the masses react is the tale. And the public can be made to believe and to react accordingly to those beliefs in any manner imaginable, be it either reality based or bull shit based.

            I think.

          • SoftStarLight January 26, 2020 at 1:36 pm #

Well humans are social creatures so herd behaviors will happen. But still, it seems actual events and facts are important. But I think you are saying and have said before that we may never know what the actual facts are. So in that case then I can see what you mean as far as perception being the most important factor.

“The impeachment case against Mr.

“Because according to Mr. Schiff, there is no nation on this planet as dear to the interests of America than darling Ukraine, with its radioactive forests, decrepitating [sic] Soviet infrastructure, and dedication to liberty.”

I feel very very sorry for James Howard Kunstler.

Many moons ago (for reasons known only to his therapist perhaps) he began his own Grand Narrative … that the Democratic Party was the source of all evil, and in cahoots with Deep State operatives, had illegally and disgustingly plotted against Trump – from the moment he glided down the golden escalator.

It’s very hard to understand why he made this massive shift from his former self to this almighty shill for the Administration and the Republican Party, but he has dug himself such an enormous hole that it is totally impossible to climb out of it.

But at least he has the second-best option of not digging any more – but no – he remains hard at it, with a jackhammer and electric shovel!

The reality remains that the Trump administration is totally corrupt, and both the Deep State (eg, Muller and the DOJ) are covering him, and will continue to do so.

America is no better than a tinpot dictatorship – where a corrupt and evil administration has control of virtually all the forces in the land (legal, ideological, and enforcement) – and can essentially do what they like, steal what they like, say rubbish with no consequences, and rig elections and the courts.

This hasn’t just happened – a totally partisan Supreme Court gifted Bush Junior the presidency because they were in cahoots with Cheney and the rest – but Trump (with some seriously committed enablers) has taken the corruption and untouchability to new levels.

So while I feel sorry for JHK, and the extent he has to go to to excoriated the Democrats, I actually feel sorry for anyone in the country who believes that there is still a “normal” form of governance going on – that it is the normal sort of politicking between Ds and Rs.

It absolutely is not – that has gone forever – the Republicans have stacked the courts at all federal levels, all the government departments, engages evil cabinet members, and continues to do the dance with some of the worst dictatorships in the world.

Elections are rigged, districts are gerrymandered beyond rational belief, voter suppression is huge and is basically unchecked, the Supremes gave a green light to ignore the Voting Rights Act, and also for corporations and SuperPacs to “legally” spend vast sums on their favourite toadies.

Even the mainstream media (and I include CNN and MSNBC both of which are very conservative really) go along with the fantasy that somehow there is a genuine polity in place and in play, still.

Meanwhile Jim prattles on about the personal characteristics od Schiff, Nadler, and Pelosi – and while I would also be reluctant to invite any of them home for a beer – the House of Reps at the moment is the sole site of resistance to the Trump machine, and as Hilary said – “the vast rightwing conspiracy”.

Trump is as guilty as hell – his stand-over tactics towards Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky – both illegal and immoral – is clearly established fact. And it is totally impeachable, as it has been proven.

The Senate (and sadly JHK) can whine and cry and moan about the “process” all they like … because that’s all they have; they can’t argue the facts, so they will deny the American people the right to hear from witnesses, and see documents.

It is nothing but a dictatorship of the right – anyone who fails to see that might live to regret it. Even if they live a long time – I expect the Republicans are close to having an unassailable iron grip on the country and its wealth

Even if a wimpy Democrat is elected president in 2020 or 2024, it won’t make much difference. Personally I think the Democratic Party should give up on winning the presidency in 2020, and put all their resources (and best people) into keeping the House, and winning the Senate.

Sanders, Warren, and the odious Biden are all geriatric duds – why bother with it?

    • JohnAZ January 25, 2020 at 4:05 pm #

This sounds like an LSD trip for a frustrated Liberal. Everything you have said is the opposite of what reality is. The Liberals almost took over this country. Trump stopped it. Our courts remain loaded with liberal judges from the Obama regime. Trump has had some success balancing it out but has a long way to go. GOP is still ineffectual in DC, Trump is the only impediment to the total takeover of the Deep State by the Dems. This country was a whisper away from uniparty control.

That is why JHK switched gears, he is still a moderate liberal thinker, just fighting back against the worst state of political corruption in US history.

A very common retort used in this column is

Prove your statements. You can rant all you want, it is your privilege, but you are not going to change anyone’s opinion by just unsubstantiated blather.

      • Cargill January 25, 2020 at 4:28 pm #

“The Liberals almost took over this country.”

Hahaha. This is just so hilarious on so many levels.

The “Liberals” as you call them have never even been close to taking over the country – probably since the peak days of FDR prior to WWII – and even he was thwarted by a conservative Supreme Court.

The idea of Trump being the Man in Shining Armour – the White Knight riding in – this is the stuff of dreams.

Trump is only there because the Republican Party made it possible for a venal, unintelligent, ego-driven, dick-driven crime boss to steal an election. Is collective memory on here so short? Little Junior took the meeting on the Russian dirt!

The Republicans – and their bosses, the 1% – have taken over the country fully, and they won’t let it go. And all the rubes out there – including your good self I’m afraid – have been conned into a set of beliefs that are wholly against your own interests.

That is my major puzzlement … just why DO you and others slavishly worship the guy and hate the Democratic Party? It is too easy to just call it a cult that will die when Trump finally goes … there must be something more weird happening.

He does precisely nothing for you and millions of others out there in the flyovers, and it is worse than nothing. Because of the total fruit-loops and crack-pots who call themselves “Christians”, women everywhere face the possibility of losing their sexual and reproductive rights.

Government should never ever intrude in the bedroom – but this Republican Party is obsessed by a lot of very creepy “Christians” who want to sniff all the sheets. Blech.

But I agree America is a tinpot dictatorship heading for Orwellian totalitarianism, thanks to the deep state globalists. Trump will likely prove to be no more than a speed bump on their satanic road to dystopia because he lacked the balls to take them down and save the republic.

The US is the world’s foremost beneficiary of globalism – since Teddy Roosevelt led the rough Riders, America has been on the front line forcing every resource-rich country in the world to let US corporates pillage all their natural resources, and then making sure markets were open to buy all sorts of American product.

        It still happens every day.

The fact that millions of US jobs have gone offshore to China, SE Asia, Mexico, and wherever, is definitely not the result of Democratic Party policies or actions.

It has been caused by greedy corporates, Wall Street, and the neoconservative ideology-makers in the universities and think-tanks – almost to a person Republican Party hacks.

And when the financial system crashed, not one guilty greedy banker went to jail – most didn’t even get a slap on the wrist or lose a day’s bonus. Obama was powerless – the deep state did indeed step in – but not on the “liberal” side!

“The fact that millions of US jobs have gone offshore to China, SE Asia, Mexico, and wherever, is definitely not the result of Democratic Party policies or actions.”

Trump has very definitely made his own generous contribution to the offshoring of jobs from America. Entirely by choice. And with products that are bought by people wealthy enough to be paying American labour prices (even if the prices weren’t artificially ballooned by the organisation, like the $48 wine glasses available elsewhere for $4.99).

          https://qz.com/1483890/how-many-donald-trump-products-are-made-in-the-usa/

Yep, Trump has used labour in China, Mexico, India, Turkey, Slovenia, Honduras, Germany, Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Vietnam, and South Korea.

I suppose that makes him ‘smart’, like he said he was during the televised debates, for avoiding tax. Do as I say, not as I do. A chancer of the first water. Yawn…

So we are completely ignoring the unanswered questions from our discussion about multiculturalism are we? Clever Koala? Not so much maybe.

      • Cargill January 25, 2020 at 11:13 pm #

One needs to pick the discussions that you think might have a useful outcome. Multiculturalism is a great social experiment that has worked well – and is working well.

Sure there are hiccups and a few trouble-spots, but there is no point in letting the perfect be the enemy of the very good. And despite our overwhelming Anglo-Irish start, it has been a nation of immigrants basically forever – at least sine the 1850 gold rushes.

A good percentage of Aussies have a parent who was born overseas, and a huge number have at least one grandparent who was (two of mine were).

But I take the point made by someone – we’re talking about a big organised and legal immigration program – nothing like the large number of illegal entries that the US has (although as a percentage of the total population, I don’t think it should be cast as The End of White Rule … as it so often seems to be in some quarters.

What’s so good about living in a white vanilla society … I look around the pool here (I’m on summer holiday) – and there are people of every colour, quite a few women with Muslim head-dress, and lots of blended families too.

BTW the children of mix-race parents are some of the best-looking people on the planet – hybrid vigour!

All part of life’s rich tapestry, it seems to me – better than Podunk Indiana, where everyone has families who’ve been there six generations, and like it just that way …

        • SoftStarLight January 26, 2020 at 1:50 pm #

I understand completely. Some build their foundations on bedrock. Others place their foundations on sand. There isn’t anything new under the sun. I wonder why hybrid vigor didn’t save Rome? Being as multicultural and multiracial as it was and all.

          • Cargill January 26, 2020 at 9:54 pm #

Three things probably lead to the fall of Rome (and they did last many centuries by the way):

            1. Overpopulation

            2. Stretched and unsustainable food and resource supply chains across a vast imperial territory

            3. And probably lead poisoning – and other diseases that hit the ruling classes

If you’re saying that mono-cultures are “bedrock” and countries with wide-spectrum immigration (not just white vanilla) are built on “sand”, I think you need to do better than cite the fall of the Roman Empire.

And look at countries that are essentially mono-cultures and strongly resist immigration (or can’t attract newcomers) – places like Japan are getting older and older, as are many Eastern European countries.

And many rural areas of Western countries are also de-populating – Spain, France, etc – natural population increase among the vanilla whites isn’t enough to keep the population vibrant, healthy, and growing.

Why should the the good bedrock punters in Bedrock Indiana worry if a Latino person is elected mayor? Or a person of very mixed genetic heritage? The US is a country of immigrants as well – plus a sizeable African-American population.

          • SoftStarLight January 27, 2020 at 12:39 am #

China is essentially a monoculture and has existed in one form or another for thousands of years. But I assume you would be more amenable to the idea of a Chinese monoculture. Being that it’s not vanilla white and all.

          • GreenAlba January 27, 2020 at 8:59 am #

I would respectfully suggest that China is not a society I’d wish us to emulate. If that’s your example of an admirable monoculture, you can keep it.

Likewise with the emperor-worshipping Japan of the 1940s, given where their particular delusions led.

I hope that his efforts bear fruits and some Deep State bastards go to jail. I also hope that the moderates stop this debacle now and repudiate the Democrats to the point they never try this again. If the system does not punish the Left for the corruption they are so far getting away with, they will just continue to keep pulling the same shenanigans. I saw a fight in which Male “Transgender” and “Professional” boxer, Fallon Fox, beat the helloutuva a female fighter in the ring. It was so pathetic because the hapless female fighter was competent and was able to land punches on the Male Fallon Fox, but her punches lacked power and were largely useless except to score points. In contrast, the Male Fallon Fox’s punches were at least 3 to 5 times more powerful. What was weird is that the fight should have been over very quickly, but it looks like Fallon Fox literally pretended for a while to make it look like a real contest. It was a fake, and the dickless male sports announcer kept referring to Fallon Fox as “She” pretending that he is a woman. The rampant dishonesty in the Society is bizarre. Very Sad….

    • hmuller January 25, 2020 at 7:02 pm #

A brief internet search failed to reveal if Fallon Fox ever gave up the male package “she” was born with. Do you know? It seems egregious that a fully male person should make a living beating up women – unless of course it’s Andy Kaufman. Drunken Russian men also do it a lot, but they don’t expect to be paid.

Your level of vanilla-white paranoia is reaching the stratosphere there, SSL.

But there again, almost all cultists like to demonise any and all opposition or critics. Can’t handle a reasonable argument, because they don’t know what that is.

But all good entertainment. And has the Twitterverse come up with some creative conspiracy theories about the crash of Kobe Bryant’s chopper – a #metoo rocket launch maybe?

Cultist? What cult would that be? The Replacement is no paranoia at all. It’s reality. You say its a good thing since you like seeing all the vanilla white places getting filled with immigrants. And you want me to be excited about it too. Or is that just my paranoia going into the stratosphere? I guess my concerns are not valid because I’m vanilla white? Or maybe they are all just conspiracy theories because they don’t match with your expectations?

Fox News just released a video showing Trump telling folks to get rid of Yovanovitch after they informed him she was bad mouthing him inside the State Department and probably in Ukraine.

So? If anyone, anywhere bad mouthed their boss, they would be fired on the spot. The President is her boss and he can fire her at his own pleasure.

It is a real indicator of the perceived power of the Deep State that this video has any relevance at all. Do the unelected folks working in the bureaucracy think they have more power than the President?

Of course they do, that is what this battle is all about!

    • lbs January 25, 2020 at 8:44 pm #

The journalism community today engages in discourse that has no foundation in reason. It’s like they’ve reverted to some distant ancestor of the human being, one whose intellectual capacity was limited to having sex and clubbing animals.

    • Majella January 26, 2020 at 6:32 am #

      The Parnas video:

It is, however, a poignant example of how Himself is so willing to believe anything anyone tells him. Parnas was only reporting what ‘other people are saying’ and couldn’t even name Yovanovitch.

Wouldn’t a RATIONAL response be to ask his aides to investigate the claim, and if found to be true, formally sack her? Yes, that would be rational and considered.

But what actually happened? Himself’s instantaneous reaction was to order persons unknown to get rid of her, using that especially chilling phrase “take her out”.

How long before he denies the video as being a deep fake? And once he does, every cult acolyte of His hereabouts will slavishly add that to their repetitive talking points…eh, benr.

      • JohnAZ January 26, 2020 at 9:36 am #

        Majella

Just like everything, one screen shot and you condemn. You have no idea what the context of this incident was. How long Trump had heard rumors about Yovanovitch?

You cherry pick just like the media. It labels you.

        • Majella January 26, 2020 at 8:02 pm #

          JohnAZ

That’s a predictable response from a cultist apologist. You’ve seen the transcript of the conversation and likely heard it too. It’s clear this is the first time Himself has heard about Yovanavitch.

He asks what her name is and even the informant – carrying water third-hand for someone else – says he doesn’t know either.

Even the ‘low IQ’ like me can figure this out. Why can’t you? Probably be cause it goes against your internalised narrative that your Cult Leader Himself is beyond reproach. It doesn’t matter whether what he does is evil, pernicious or just plain-vanilla loathesome, as far as you’re concerned, he can do no wrong.

          What labels who here, John?

The concrete outhouse was on a hill on the side of a steep slope with the hole of the crapper over the steep embankment. When you squatted to drop your load you found yourself looking down upon a fifty foot high pile of steaming sloppy shit bespeckled with wads of toilet paper of various hues and grades. You , quite possibly , are in the top ten best writers and thinkers I have ever encountered,

Our genuine liberal , softie , or proverbial whore with a heart of gold , is BackrowHeckler.

How could one not like Clusterfuck Nation ?

  56. KesaAnna January 25, 2020 at 7:22 pm #

” Well, she is European. ”

I would say , perhaps , that the key factors are that I am mulatto ,

and the first ten years of my life I lived in East Germany , which I very much liked , yes , even though it was commie atheist , even though the Germans , generally , aren’t the sort of people I would generally like ,

and then I had to come here , which I did NOT like .

? Well , perhaps even a palace may be akin to Hell when it is not your free choice ?

Anyway , I could then say I was fucked right at the start ….

    … But I don’t think that is really true , so I won’t.

I would say then that maybe it was that i have never had a natural side , a natural group , an inherited home.

So I am right from the start a doubting Thomas.

Right from the start the outsider , always and everywhere.

Or , I have never been able to bring myself to conform , no matter how popular the notion , if I believe it to be plain stupid , or very much not true.

Popularity be damned. In my mind at least , if popularity had any substance at all , and if the common run of man had any sense , or any genuine concern for the other , I would still be in Potsdam .

” Many moons ago (for reasons known only to his therapist perhaps) he began his own Grand Narrative … that the Democratic Party was the source of all evil, and in cahoots with Deep State operatives, had illegally and disgustingly plotted against Trump – from the moment he glided down the golden escalator. ”

I would not be so ungenerous ,

though perhaps he would actually find my words more hurtful ?

The trouble with American nationalism now , American nationalism of any stripe ,

is that a good general symbol or logo for it would be a portrait of Robert E. Lee.

That is , in looking at a portrait of Robert E. Lee , you might as well be looking in a mirror.

That is , as I understand it , in the particular case of Robert E. Lee , it was that he was cast as a Confederate by others , rather than on his own account.

That is , when it came down to it , he could go to war for his family , or he could go to war for the folks who make license plates.

And he could not go to war on his own family.

    Whatever the issues ….

The issues ?! Gimme a fucking break !

Whatever the issues , those folks on the moon , err , I mean Wahington D.C. , care no more for you than that pedantic Nazi bureaucrat son of a bitch down at the Department of motor vehicles , and very likely far less.

Maybe that is a bad example ?

    Certainly though , as I have said ;

    — You may have a republic , and that is always going to be a , “MAYBE “.

    — or you may have an empire. And that IS going to mean in this case a Russia , a China , or a Brazil.

You may have one , or the other. You CANNOT have both.

But many , not at all stupid , and certainly not crazy , people cannot or will not see this.

    go figure.

” The “Liberals” as you call them have never even been close to taking over the country – ”

    True !

But then I rarely see anything even faintly resembling ” liberal ” anywhere.

Gun rights ? Well , really the right concerned is the natural right of self defense and individual autonomy , but there is scarce any of that in the rhetoric.

The supposed backers of the Second Amendment , like as not , have no trouble with the notion of making it legal that any clown can kill you , because oooohhh , of a felony conviction !

And let’s all sit here and fucking PRETEND that we don’t know that now the list of felonies has grown to thousands of pages , and included in that class now are Senators and Sheriffs at least , and perhaps , not inconceivable , a president some day.

    As for ” LIBERALS” ?

    HA !

CLEARLY they don’t trust a waitress with an AK – 47 , and I think that alone gives a general clue as to the real nature of their liberality.

You know …… way back in 1915 the nature of the Bolshevik Party was such that ,

well , if you can imagine the sexual fetish or sexual eccentricity , then you can be sure it had its representative in the Bolshevik Party.

    Now fast – forward to 1976 .

Soviet media generally , whether print , radio , TV or movies , was generally one long , never – ending episode of The Lawrence Welk Show.

    If Lawrence Welk was before your time , or you don’t recall , here you go ;

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1LAjZiuoE4

All of this is to say that I think if anything such as a liberal actually existed ,

    the liberal would first of all know , or surmise ;

    — Half – baked ideas usually turn out to be , indeed , half – baked .

    — Revolutions almost always , that means RARELY EVER Otherwise , turn out in a way no one originally imagined.

it’s like war ; you may begin a war when you please , but you rarely get to end it as , or when , you wish.

    G. K. Chesterton wrote nearly a hundred years ago , but what he said then is still true ;

( paraphrasing ) What is liberal is now called , at best ,conservative.
Otherwise called reactionary , and always called irrational or naive.

The rest , whatever they call themselves , are at least spiteful busy-bodies , and not uncommonly plain bloody – minded Nazis.

Liberals are rather like skirts or dresses now ; You are most likely to see one only on TV.

You’re using Nazi as a pejorative again, Kesa – just like any “liberal”.

Robert E Lee was an American Nazi and you like him. You’re not making too much sense….. Perhaps if you were in Potsdam!

Perhaps you’re trying to say what Chief Joseph said: A man who will not defend the grave of his father is no better than a beast. Marse Robert chose the better path indeed.

    • elysianfield January 26, 2020 at 12:34 am #

      “CLEARLY they don’t trust a waitress with an AK – 47 ,”

      Kesa,
…Again, with this image. Who says “they” don’t trust a waitress with an AK-47? Who are they? Who is the waitress in question.

      Is she hot?

      Any pic’s?

      …Of the Kalashnikov, I mean….

Consider that the 2nd Amendment does not preclude waitresses from owning weapons…her choice of employment might, however, make them unaffordable….

Or is the “waitress” a metaphor for the great unwashed? Are “they” an allegory for the shot takers in our society?

Would the waitress be trusted with an old Mauser?

Or trusted, perhaps, with an SKS?

Would the waitress be trusted to wash her hands before leaving the toilet and then serving us our breakfast?

      So many questions.

    https://jacobitemag.com/2017/06/14/political-violence-is-a-game-the-right-cant-win/

Good article on the strengths of the Left. Even the author may not understand completely but he brings up the undeniable fact: Bill Ayers went on from terrorism to being a respected and influential professor – without ever apologizing for anything. Thus in the power of the Liberal’s, “no enemies to the Left” philosophy. In contrast, Eric Rudolf was caught eating out of dumpsters. He’s never going to be professor since everyone disavows him cuz we’re peaceful and shit.

Get it? The Left are “gentle angry people” but the gentle can always be dropped as needs be. The Right never can and never will because of so called Christianity. Guess which side the Corporations support? The Left. But the Left is against Capitalism! So are the Corporations. But this isn’t the way Marx talked about Communism developing! I know, right? But that’s the way it has developed. Maybe Marx’s philosophy was just a feint, you know the way boxers pretend they’re going to hit you with a left and then actually throw a right? Maybe he was “worker” too – with his own Bosses.

Old time Christianity allowed for violence. What would Jesus have said? I don’t know – the Gospels aren’t clear about that. We know very little of what He thought about anything. And that sucks. The Muslims write down everything Mohammad said about everything. Why didn’t the Apostles do the same? We do know that He picked up a whip and drove the moneychangers out – a good sign. If He wasn’t averse to violence, who are we to be so? Is the servant greater than the Master?

    • tucsonspur January 26, 2020 at 4:28 am #

Good article, and good points on centralized and decentralized infrastructure, ‘affinity’ groups, building things and learning from the Left. On Righties: “They tend not to do things in meatspace.”

Yes, Ayers had the credentials. Experienced terrorist and bomber. We haven’t yet reached domestic violence levels like in the Sixties, except for things like Ruby Ridge, Waco, McVeigh, Kaczinsky and such. But these weren’t inter party episodes, as they were central authority focused for the most part.

The Right must get ready to handle inter party violence at this frightening level. Hope for the best and you know the rest.

    • JohnAZ January 26, 2020 at 9:51 am #

The Left throughout history is not gentle. Ayers is not gentle, instead of blowing up things himself, he is teaching others to blow up things. Revolutions start with Leftists, and are finished by moderates and the right. It is the definition of liberal, to espouse change. Right now, the battle is joined with the Dems supporting the Deep State current state and Trump trying to change things to pass power back to the people. Who is the Liberal?

    • SoftStarLight January 26, 2020 at 2:37 pm #

I disagree respectfully. Revelations makes it clear that Christ is indeed the Warrior King. Upon His return He will destroy His enemies without question and in totality. That was not the purpose however of His initial incarnation. Though some level of violence was mentioned in terms of the encounter with the moneychangers in the temple. The entire measure of the scriptures validates that war and violence are inescapable facts of life, and that there is a such thing as holy or necessary war and violence.

It still sounds like a setup. The Dems are not stupid people. I wonder if Pelosi wasn’t working with the RINOs in the Senate to work on other RINOs to get those 67 votes. Seems to me that her sudden zeal to get it going may have been fired up by making a deal. These four Dems in sheep’s clothing gave Kavanaugh fits, under Jeff Flake’s (my worst vote) tutelage. Subtract Flake and substitute Romney.

Or maybe the Dems are really stupid and just committed the dumbest political move in history.

I guess we shall see. Romney et al, if they pull shenanigans, will be hopefully asked to leave the party.

Two RINOs from Arizona were punished, John McCain by being censured by the state GOP, and Flake by being thrown out by a large margin.

JohnAZ – what’s this about Flake being ‘thrown out by a large margin’? He withdrew before the primary, didn’t he? S are you referring to pre-primary polling showing that McSally was a shoo-in?

A good compromise would be to change the constitution so no one under the age of 40 who isn’t a veteran could vote. Eligibility for President would be 55 yrs of age. That would reign in the craziness. Even the Green Alba’s could vote eventually but only after menopause.

  63. volodya January 26, 2020 at 3:44 pm #

It’s exactly like Sophia sez in her reply to Cargill, it doesn’t take a lot of sleuthing. Many things are completely obvious, like who’s in control. Just listen up to who’s giving orders, who’s setting out incentives and disincentives, who’s setting out public agendas, and private agendas for that matter.

And even the really oblivious ie those individuals consumed by internet trivia, can see what’s what from what’s promoted by corporate media. And this doesn’t take a lot of energy and effort, you can be as mentally immobile as a moribund fish on a beach.

It’s comical really, those people standing up high and mighty and superior, waving about their credentials, telling us about their command of – cough – facts and evidence, are those people showing the greatest immunity to that same reality they pretend to tout.

And there’s a huge lot of reality out there, the vast bulk of it right under one’s nose, like the historic efficacy of the idea of e pluribus unum, the real world counter-argument to the multi-culturalism which itself, in the real world as opposed to the world of the academy and the ivory tower, has a record of bloody failure reaching to the moon and back.

Again, just pay the slightest attention to what’s happening around the globe. It doesn’t take a lot of effort. And you can observe that media, by its coverage of international events, contradict their own rhetoric of the moral and practical good of multi-culturalism, an agenda that the media and the rest of our betters keep pushing. It’s a joke. To be perfectly explicit, assimilation works. Multi-culturalism doesn’t.

As far as the putative benefits of globalism go, the evidence sits in abundance, in the open, in the plain light of day, for those that want to see it. For those that don’t, mainly those in the higher income echelons of society, there’s nothing you can do for them. It’s like that guy said, you can’t make someone understand something if it’s in his interest to not understanding it.

But not understanding comes with repercussions. The Brit elite refused to see the destructive consequences of decades of elite-driven policy on their own populace. The result? Brexit. The French upper-crust inflicted damaging agendas on a large segment of the French population. And what happens? The Gilets Jaunes festivities. Many, many examples all over the world.

In the USA? Globalism wrecked huge swathes of the country and tens of millions of lives. And so you get the Trump win, and it gets worse if people living in wealthy bastions, and even commenters on this site, don’t wake the fuck up. This is just the start.

  64. volodya January 26, 2020 at 3:46 pm #

Beantown, I don’t know if Cargill is Janet, or someone else in the employ of a government agency. It’s too hard to know. But there’s a lot of true believers out there, people unshakeably convinced that those organizations and individuals doing them damage are acting for their benefit. Does anyone seriously think that the Democrats give a shit about Black people? Yet Black people vote Democrat. I mean, if Democrats are “progressive” then pork is kosher and I’m Bill Clinton’s uncle.

    • Majella January 26, 2020 at 4:32 pm #

      Volodya

Yes, there’s a lot of ‘true believers out there, people unshakeably convinced…’ of their articles of faith. But it sure as hell goes both ways.

Trumpism has become mainstream, and as a result, we’re all screwed.

Whether we’re screwed by Himself, who has many times implied he’d like to be ‘President for Life’ in the style of Putin & Xi, or by the terrifying but unidentified & unidentifiable ‘deep state’, really doesn’t matter.

          Latest Fox Poll:

“Half of Americans say the Senate should vote to convict and remove President Trump from office, according to a new Fox News poll.

The survey, which was released Sunday and conducted as the Senate impeachment trial began in earnest, found that 50 percent of Americans think the Senate should vote to convict and remove Trump, while 44 percent believe the upper chamber should not vote to remove the president.

Opinions on impeachment and removal break strongly along partisan lines. Eighty-one percent of Democrats say Trump should be removed from office, while 84 percent of Republicans say he shouldn’t. A majority of independent voters (53 percent) think Trump should be removed, while just 34 percent say he should not. ”

I think that the antidote for right-wing-nutjob-ism isn’t more nonsense but less nonsense. As far as the paid trolls go, we saw one several years ago.

But I think there’s some cause for optimism. IMO the Republican Party, in its traditional form, you know, those idiots incessantly quacking about tax cuts and “fixing” entitlements, is on its death bed.

The thing is I don’t know which direction this goes or what takes its place. There’s a lot of nonsense talk about fascism on the “right” but in my view the main cause for concern is coming from those citadels of enlightenment on the other side of the spectrum.

That’s not to say there can’t be a lot of nastiness from the “right”. As I said earlier, that was a lot of fire-power on display in Virginia. Better take note of that.

It’s bizarre. Now, hereabouts, if a poster argues the toss with the RWNJ contingent, against the ‘received wisdom’ parroting of GOP/Trump Cult talking points, s/he is accused of being a paid shill and/or a troll.

I recommend you watch this Vice article, to get a third party view of how political tribalism is tearing at the last remnants of any commonality and social cohesion.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dB_W38mCRM&feature=youtu.be

    • JohnAZ January 26, 2020 at 4:37 pm #

Trolls dominate the air waves. Just duplicates the MSM. Trolls in 2016 is what supposedly happened when the Russians did to influence the election. My memory of Facebook at the time is that it was about 50-50 for both sides. Majella, it is social media that has changed the game and made such bitter enemies of the two sides. It is easy to call names and make accusations in private, hard in public especially facing the folks you are against. That is why with real due process, the accuser must face the accused.

      • Majella January 26, 2020 at 5:41 pm #

You’re right about Social Media, JohnAZ. If you watched that Vice piece, you’ll have seen how anyone with an opinion, cell phone and a youtube account can now claim to be a ‘journalist’, often using the term ‘alternative’ or ‘citizen’ media.

I’m old-fashioned and still give more credibility to any print journal with some history and that all-important journalistic principle of verifying information and sources – the need for a second, independent substantiation before committing any statement to the record.

So, while Himself might rail against the use of “unnamed sources”, that’s just how it works. I’m more prepared to accept information from an actual media organization run on journalistic principles than Himself’s usual ploy of disinformation spreading – “people are saying…” or crazies like Alex Jones.

        • Nightowl January 26, 2020 at 5:50 pm #

You give them credibility because you have no discernment or critical thinking skills.

Gee, really? You think? Wow…that’s ME told then.

Thank the stars there’s someone like you out there with all that IQ (you’re probably wasting most of it!) and the ability to see deeply into others and instantaneously diagnose all their issues and yet be selfless enough to share those penetrating insights with such compassion.

          • capt spaulding January 26, 2020 at 9:01 pm #

          • Nightowl January 27, 2020 at 5:23 am #

It isn’t about looking deeply into others. It is about the fact that you still have no evidence whatsoever for your nutbar claims and tin-foil specials, and yet you return each week posting the same claims.

So you are either insane, or an idiot.

            You tell me.

    • tucsonspur January 26, 2020 at 5:16 pm #

If social media didn’t exist, the two sides wouldn’t be bitter enemies? I guess face to face conversations would work everything out.

Nothing is bizarre here. It’s a slugfest, a battle between two ideological armies. What ideals will you abide by? I know that I won’t be going by “Miss Manners’ Guide to Excruciatingly Correct Behavior”, or the wisdom of Emily Post.

      It’s a fight. Here, hold my jacket….

    • SoftStarLight January 26, 2020 at 8:22 pm #

akmofo provokingly stated, “You know your “questions” are dishonest and they been proven dishonest time and again. Your “questions” are designed to propagate lies. Your insistence on this tact is pure Satanism. It’s pure antisemitic provocation.”

Is it satanic to ask you about the Hebrew bible? Either way:

“YeHeVeH thy God shall raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me: unto him ye shall hearken; according to all that thou desired of YeHeVeH thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly saying, Let me not hear again the voice of YeHeVeH my God, neither let me see this great fire, that I die not. And YeHeVeH said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”

Would it be antisemitic to ask a shemite who this prophet “like Moses” is?

    • akmofo January 26, 2020 at 9:53 pm #

The days of the Prophets are over.
They were over a long long time ago:

      Ta — Torah —- Teaching
      Na — Nevi’im —- Prophets
      Kh — Ktuvim —- Writings

We have all become backwards upside down thinking Greeks.
Even us Hebrews. Even I myself.
Who knows what will change that.
      We have our Hebrew history.
      We have our Hebrew language.
We need our Hebrew land back, its Hebrew songs and culture.
We lost our old Hebrew eyes. We don’t see how we used to see.
We are not who and how and what we used to be.
I hope one day we will see our way back from this Greek darkness.

          The Messiah will change it.
