There’s the Swamp teeming with scaley, slithery, sharp-toothed, many-footed predators, but then there’s the miasma hanging over the Swamp, a toxic mist of lies, misdirection, dis-info, propaganda, bad faith, and sedition, illuminated by pulsing blue gaslight that affords a toxic blanket of protection to the denizens of the Swamp. Now a storm is brewing. The critters are evacuating their mud-holes and moiling about desperately among the cypress knobs as a mighty wind rises — the election hurricane — threatening to sweep it (and them) all away!

The climate is changing, all right, but not in the way that some think it is. The political climate is changing, and what has been a pestilential subtropical sink on the Potomac is overdue for that cleansing we’ve heard about. Weeks from now, as the fetid water subsides, the protective miasma above will dissipate and the people from sea to shining sea will finally get a good look at the landscape revealed and the pitiful, wriggling, dying life-forms of the order Democratica stranded on it.

Case in point: Joe Biden. Many will wonder in the days to come whether the sole and otherwise inexplicable reason for his elevation to candidate-for-president was a ruse to avoid prosecution — his own and others. The matter was neatly laid out a year ago during the impeachment ploy: After the color revolution in Ukraine, 2014, Mr. Biden was designated not just “point man” overseeing American interests in that sad-sack country, but specifically as a watchdog against the notorious deep corruption of Ukraine’s entire political ecosystem — as if, you understand, the internal workings of Ukraine’s politics was any of our business in the first place.

The evidence aired publicly last year suggests that Mr. Biden jumped head-first and whole-heartedly into the hog-trough of loose money there, netting his son Hunter and cohorts millions of dollars for no-show jobs on the board of natgas company, Burisma. And then, of course, Mr. Biden stupidly bragged on a recorded panel session at the Council on Foreign Relations about threatening to withhold US aid money as a lever to induce Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko to fire a prosecutor looking into Burisma’s sketchy affairs. Naturally, the Democratic Party impeachment crew accused Mr. Trump of doing exactly what Mr. Biden accomplished a few years earlier.

The impeachment fizzled, but the charges and the odor of the Biden-Burisma scandal lingered without resolution — all the while that Mr. Biden posed as a presidential candidate in the primaries. This week, two Senate committees (Finance and Homeland) are expected to release a joint report detailing findings of their investigation into the Biden family’s exploits abroad. It is expected to not look good. Also implicated are the State Department officers in the Kiev embassy who pretended not to notice any of this, pointing also to their engagement in further shenanigans around the Trump-Clinton election of 2016 — a lot of that entwined in the Clinton-sponsored RussiaGate scheme. Will the committees be so bold as to issue criminal referrals to the Justice Department? If Mr. Biden actually shows up at next week’s debate, do you suppose that Mr. Trump will fail to bring up the subject? Does this finally force Mr. Biden’s withdrawal from what has been the most hollow, illusory, and dispirited campaign ever seen at this level in US political history?

All of which is to say that the Democratic Party has other things to worry about besides who will replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. That may be hard to believe but it’s how things are now after four years of implacable, seditious perfidy from the party. A week ago, all the talk was of the Democrats’ election coup plan, as publicized stupidly by the so-called Transition Integrity Project. Nice try. What if all those mail-in ballots sent out recently have Joe Biden’s name on them and it turns out that he is no longer a candidate? Hmmmm…. No doubt the recipients were so eager to fill them in and send them out that there’s no going back on that scam. Apparently, a Biden withdrawal was not one of the scenarios scrimmaged out in the Transition Integrity Project’s “war game.” What then? A do-over?

Hence, panic in the swamp. Joe Biden’s misadventures, and his pitiful fate, are but the outer rainbands of the brewing storm. There’s the threat of further and widespread riots, of course, but since when has insurrection proved to be a winning campaign strategy in a country not entirely gone to the dogs? People who are not insane usually object to their businesses being torched and their homes invaded. At this point, after months of violent antics by criminal nihilists, one can even imagine Multnomah County, Oregon, turning Trumpwise. Closer to the eye-wall of the hurricane looms the stern visage of John Durham. That’s where the most damaging winds whirl and there is reason to suppose they are heading for landfall. Whatever he’s been up to lo these many months has had a tighter lid on it than the tomb of Tutankhamen. It must be making a whole lot of political gators, centipedes, and pygmy rattlesnakes nervous. Perhaps New York Times editor and miasma generator-in-chief Dean Baquet is up at three a.m. thinking about it, puking into his wastebasket.

And I say to JHK, don’t be too surprised or shock if Biden wins and the Swamp wins. Don’t be too surprised if the shitshow continues on because either way whether it’s Trump or Biden in November, it’s over for America. It is too far down the rabbit hole to make a comeback.

    • malthuss September 21, 2020 at 10:01 am #

What do you suggest? What can the commoner do?

      • Rodster September 21, 2020 at 10:21 am #

Pray for the best and prepare for the worst. Resist at all costs. Look out for yourself and family. This is NOT just going to be America going down the drain but eventually, everyone as well.

We are in the beginning stages of the “Great Reset”.

Speaking of “Color Revolutions”, wait until the American people manage to figure out (in spite of our do-nothing CIA Mockingbird media) that the CIA finally decided, “Hey! That Color Revolution in Ukraine was a hit even with Nazis and Victoria Nuland passing out cookies in Maiden Square! Why not pull a Color Revolution in the U.S. with race riots and Black Lives Matter and Antifa and all those nutty white Ivy League grads clutching their copies of “White Fragility” leading the mayhem with their law degrees and Molotov cocktails! It……could…..work!!!!”

Well, according to this journalist from Revolverdotnews this is exactly what is happening. Even Tucker Carlson was shocked by this news:

Yes I do believe this is a Color Revolution and others in the alternative media have brought the idea. The Democrats are so freakin crazy they don’t care what they do whether it’s legal or not as long Trump is no longer in Office. Even if it means burning down the Country, they just don’t care.

Still think a general tax strike–local, state, federal– would send a clear message, along with a general labor strike. If working people, especially “essentials,” are being arbitrarily sent into society-wide timeouts by pandemic masters why not make it really count and grind everything to a halt from the grassroots up?

BTW, has everyone seen the footage of PM Boris Johnson listening to MP Ellwood advocate for use of the military for COVID-19 control? It’s like watching someone develop Stockholm Syndrome second by second.

Agree – if Trump wins he will destroy the remnants of what was once, allegedly good about amerika.
If Biden wins amerika could destroy, in its slightly extended dying throes, what remains honourable & decent in the rest of the world.

I wonder why these assholes don’t try to defend the Constitution from out-of-control Technology run amok?

Science is out-of-control. The Unabomber was probably right…. Ben Geortzel says that American investment into AI development is all directed at creating AI algorithms to either sell stupid shit, to gamble, to spy on people, or to kill people. I would probably add that that AI is used to manipulate people’s thinking and mind control. Most Americans will be so out-gunned with their TV, Internet porn and fast food diet that they haven’t got a Fuck’n chance.

Election results are too close together for our current computer systems to tell the difference. Any state depending on the internet to count votes is in for a rude awakening as the ability for nefarious groups to manipulate the voting systems is growing every election. Using the USPS is a joke! Why? There is no security from sending to vote and it being tabulating. If the dependability of the mail here is an indication of the reliability of the USPS as a carrier in an election, we are going to see election challenges after the election that makes the 2016 Jill Stein fiasco look trivial.

Right now the election system has no way to Talley up the votes honestly. So we are going to hear Democratic manipulation, GOP manipulation, Russian manipulation, China manipulation. Foreign manipulation will be trivial compared to domestic.

Paper ballots counted by hand under official surveillance creating a paper trail is the only honest way to avoid ballot manipulation. No USPS, no hackable computer systems.

      • earltwitty September 21, 2020 at 11:07 am #

Voter fraud up to now is very rare! .004 %!! 9 known cases in 7 yrs in Colorodo mail in ballots! Voter suppression is real! Ask Katherine Harris. Purging voter rolls is real. Ask KKKobach.Repeat a lie enough and the masses will believe it. I just saw my week long early voting schedule in Roch, NY. Thats the best bet. Yes I would avoid my alma mater the USPS thanks to Stutteriing Lou Dejoy if your worried. No word from HJK on Trumps laughable 13 billion to PR for an early Oct. surprise. He wouldn’t have given them a dime if it wasn”t election time. Poor Trump.

          • benr September 21, 2020 at 3:02 pm #

Sure but it would be better if you actually did your own research.

        • Uncle Bob September 21, 2020 at 6:41 pm #

Well, let’s see. There was a North Carolina House race in 2018 that was invalidated and rerun because of illegal vote harvesting. There was the case of a car trunkload of ballots was found after Al Franken won the Minnesota Senate race in 2008. There were several House races in California in 2018 that appeared to have been won by Republicans, only for every single one to be won by Democrats days after the election by “finding” stray ballots. But obviously those examples don’t count because they counter your argument.

Black Lives Matter protesters recently demanding that a guy in a truck raise his fist and say “Black Lives Matter” is eerily reminiscent of the Nazis demanding the raised arm yelling “Heil Hitler!”

This reminds me of the bad boy in our seventh grade history class when the teacher told him to do something and the kid said, “And what if I don’t???!!”

He got three solid wacks on the ass with a paddle with the holes in front of the whole class.

But I would say the same thing if any BLM “activist” (terrorist) ordered me to raise my fist and say “Black Lives Matter!” (defund the police and burn this country to the ground!).

        Not playing witcha homey.

  7. Mountain gal September 21, 2020 at 10:05 am #

One of the best reasons, imho, to vote in person is that you can be flexible and respond to the latest news up til the minute you submit your ballot on election day. I suspect part of the reason the Dems are so keen on getting people to vote by mail far in advance of election day is that once they submit their ballot, that’s that! So even if Biden decides not to debate or he can’t put together a coherent sentence in said debate, or criminal charges are brewing against him or he is replaced on the ballot, all of those voters are now locked in voting for the Dems as opposed to Trump.

  11. NickelthroweR September 21, 2020 at 10:21 am #

    Greetings,

Much of this reminds me of the panic before Y2K. The tech companies were riding that wave of hysteria and milked the make-believe issue for all it was worth.

I’ve reached a point in time where I truly can’t grasp where all this is going. So, instead of worrying about Portland burning to the ground I’ve decided to continue putting away items that we “may” find to soon be in short supply. I’ve purchased a bit more silver on the off chance that we witness a currency collapse as it buckles under the weight of the printing press and the endless give-a-ways that can only come back to haunt us as hyperinflation.

We have a lot of Amish here where I live and I suspect they’ll have no problem accepting silver as payment for their services.

    • JohnAZ September 21, 2020 at 11:00 am #

Warnings were put out months before Y2K about the effects of the date change. Much preventive work anticipating the change was incorporated. Was the Y2K a nothing burger or was the work done prior what saved the system? Were the Y2K prophets saviors?

      • DrTomSchmidt September 21, 2020 at 11:21 am #

My own reaction. In May of 1999, my thoughts were “I know my system is safe; I just don’t know about everyone else’s. ” in June of 1999, “I think everyone had the same reaction last month that I did.” Then the realization came over me: Y2K was a great tech consultant shakedown.

At least all the new equipment bought under the guise of “Y2K remediation” was eventually put to good use.

        • NickelthroweR September 21, 2020 at 12:23 pm #

It wasn’t “put to good use” but instead blew up in our faces when the tech bubble crashed. I remember the newspaper articles with info graphics showing aircraft falling out of the sky and mass murderers being released from prison. All anyone had to do was forward the date on their computers and watch how they reacted. It didn’t require all the scams that were forced upon us.

          • DrTomSchmidt September 21, 2020 at 1:33 pm #

My boss found that Y2K was a magic credit card that let him buy whatever he needed. There was a sugar high that took a few years to disappear; that was the bottom in 2002.

Don’t you wish you’d bought Amazon then?

          • MrMangoOnMyShoulder September 22, 2020 at 12:42 pm #

I wasn’t paying as much attention then as now, but I don’t remember articles or tv news showing graphic simulations like that…though it was certainly talked about.

But I know for sure I saw those graphics on an episode of The Simpsons!

        • David Webb September 21, 2020 at 7:48 pm #

As an IT guy in the EFT (ATMs and debit cards) department of a bank, I had job security for a few years leading up to Y2K. With our systems it was no scam, things could have gotten pretty ugly if we had done nothing. That wasn’t an option, so we addressed the issue early and thoroughly, and still had a few minor glitches in the days and weeks afterwards. Unfortunately, I was working on archaic systems, so my value in the industry dropped pretty dramatically afterwards.

      • thirdcoastlegend September 21, 2020 at 1:49 pm #

Y2K is best summed as a little from column A, and a little from column B with regard to mitigation versus scams.

There were people who forwarded the dates on their systems, noted potential issues, and worked to mitigate them.

There were also plenty of people who ran scams and used it as an excuse to inflate their budgets.

It’s going to be a very cold and drizzly day in Multnomah County, Oregon before Portland votes Trump. After my eight year stint in Portland I’m pretty sure those people will gladly go down with the ship before admitting they’ve poked the holes in the hull.

Most people just want to be left alone. They don’t want to have to deal with an AI god with an IQ of 200,000.

I guess that all of the Social Justice Warriors will think the the AI super god will give them “Justice” and drill a pussy for the transgenders for free?

    • thirdcoastlegend September 21, 2020 at 11:17 am #

Who needs AI when we have Beer Flu?

Beer Flu is far more intelligent than AI.

Beer Flu knows if you’re seated or standing in a restaurant.

Heck, Beer Flu knows if you’re having a sandwich or just a drink at the bar.

DARPA should immediately defund all quantum computing projects and focus on developing Beer Flu-enabled computers.

” drill a pussy for the transgenders for free?

      Puck,

Enough. I know you are fixated with the concept, but the reality has nothing to do with a drill. As I understand the basics, they split the penis, and thru an incision (I don’t want to lose you with the technical terminology, so follow along) fold the penis inside-out as you would an old sock, insert it into the cut and anchor it into the goo inside.

      No drill.

Oh, and it is a free service, paid for by…somebody else.

Being a terrible person really had nothing to do with it. They are all pretty much terrible people. Otherwise they never would have risen to their positions. Unlike her husband, Hillary Clinton is an unlikable person. I believe that feminism is simply one of those symptoms of late-empire-stage debauchery, along with the peculiar transgender worship currently in vogue. These are luxuries we will no longer be able to afford when times get really bad. This time, when the pendulum swings back, it will swing back hard. Women will be forced back into the kitchen, as they were after WWII. The transgendered will have to live with the wrong genitalia and keep their angst to themselves. They won’t be the only ones unhappy with their lot in life. The gays and lesbians will slink back into their respective closets. When simply living becomes a struggle, there isn’t going to be patience for such unproductive frippery.

Rummaging through the gunpowder/reloading locker, stumbled on April 1959 “GUNS” magazine, and some others near that date, and saw articles discussing “Civil Defense”. It seems the generation of WWII and Korean War men and women of that time had feelings of homeland defense. Much discussion of informal anti insurrection/saboteur training. not quite the level of “Well Regulated Militias”, but a beginning. The Tree Of Liberty requires constant attention.

There are 3000 + US County Planning Bureaus/OES offices, and near equal County Sheriffs, many of which can appoint or hire ex-military drill sergeants or Navy Chiefs, as deputies, for purpose of establishing county militias, satisfying (and foiling) the anti-2nd amendment crowd…

As is my wont; again recommend the 3000 county offices might also obtain US Rail Map Atlas for their respective jurisdictions/locales. Famine Hedge is requisite and food distribution will require robust enhancements, meaning rebuilding farm district rail links . In fact, recommissioned US Army/Guard Railroad Transportation Battalions (see Ft Eustis VA template) offer handy ways and means of supplementing county militias.

ANTIFA and (B)urn (L)oot (M)urder have demonstrated exactly the scenario discussed in the April 1959 “GUNS” Civil Defense article.. -Termed “Nothing New Under The Sun” in Scripture.

In Philly and Portland, they’ve resumed stopping cars on public streets, demanding acquiences from civilians, smashing up vehicles with hammers and kicks, and assaulting drivers. And the drivers — just going about their business — are mocked in their humiliation, “He scared, he scared”, and “Black Lives Matter, say it. Say it louder”, (as they knock out windshields) The police always seem to be elsewhere, unless the motorist resists in some fashion, at which time the cops are all over the motorist like stink on a monkey, throwing on cuffs and leveling charges.

It appears that we’re heading for stormy waters full ahead, but historically it is more likely a small squall. However passionate the beliefs are of both sides, the ability to translate from thinking to becoming physical is lacking in the extremis. Americans of the 1850’s/60’s were very physical in just their everyday activities. Fighting was an accepted method of finishing any disagreement. Not so much today. The violence is from a relatively small cadre of tangos, not any danger to the country, states, counties etc…Target identified leaders for “re-education” via quiet terminal ballistics and viola’ problem silenced. Do Not operate from the violent-violent mode. Very soft power, just enough to turn heads. Let the left scream gun control. If they’d open their (mentally) eyes to what happened, they would realize they’d just witnessed it. When any lefty screams gun violence, I tell them its human violence using a gun. Morons. As always; practice, practice and especially practice with bad intent.

    JHK,

Wildly off topic, but relevant to your garden, where chestnut blight killed your American chestnuts. NY State’s ESF has created a blight-free Fully American chestnut with the insertion of a wheat gene that detoxifies the oxalic acid from blight that kills the tree. The Federal Government has opened comments for 60 days on whether it should be approved.

Read the science; the precautionary principle says we should not approve genetically modified plants easily. But this has been tested for negative effects on the soil, and not found to cause them. If this tree is released, male pollen from it will fertilize the remaining female American chestnut flowers. Throw in a few energetic and forgetful squirrels, and we could be looking at a restored Eastern Forest.

It’s bright and good news. Comment here:

The Democrat Party has become the (Socialist Identity Party) and promise Progressive fantasies, (“The Carrot”), i.e. Bernie’s unsustainable Socialist programs to further their evolving Marxist/Maoist ideology (“The Stick”). Maoist methods (Cancel Culture) are used to erase America’s Customs, Culture, History, and Established Ideas in their strategy to destroy America’s current form of government based on the Founding Father’s Constitutional blueprint. Their ultimate goal is to install a Totalitarian atheistic government that starts out as a form of corrupt and unworkable Socialism.

America endured 8 years of Obama’s criminal political assault and his failed coup called (RussiaGate) to overthrow President Trump. RussiaGate was a conspiracy to overthrow a sitting president carried out by a coordinated effort of high-ranking government employees across many agencies, who knew exactly what they were doing. Americans are starting to understand how the Obama administration weaponized the DOJ, FBI, CIA and IRS to go after his political opponents, and in doing so, he trampled the Constitution and fueled the violent overthrow of cultural norms. America, in her glorious history, has never experienced anything in politics as corrupt as Obama’s RussiaGate. Nixon’s WaterGate political crimes look like an overdue library book by comparison.

Read “The Permanent Coup”, by: Lee Smith to fully understand the scope of Obama’s RussiaGate crimes. Try the “Audible” version.

Wishes on top of speculation. What if, they are expected, what if, if only…

There is widespread hatred of Trump, from pretty much anyone who matters. Biden looking wobbly does not seem to matter. Either opinion polls are completely off, or Biden is headed to the White House.

And even if Trump won… what would it change? Populists may win elections. The swamp, the man, the technocrats just shrug off election results. They won every confrontation. They are still in control. Elections no longer matter. Salvini won in Italy, then got ousted, and is now on trial for illegal detention of migrants. Boris won a conservative majority; still no Brexit and more illegal migrants than ever landing on the shores of Britain. Trump won in 2016; is manufacturing back in the US, are troups leaving Afghanistan?

“still no Brexit and more illegal migrants than ever landing on the shores of Britain.”

Brexit happened at the end of last year. The UK is not part of the EU. That’s what Brexit means. The transition period (agreed so that businesses wouldn’t fall of a cliff in the absence of a trade agreement) is going to end at the end of this year. That’s pretty soon. It looks like there will be no trade agreement, so it should be clusterfucky enough for the most ardent Brexiter.

And BoJo is threatening to break international law by reneging on the exit treaty he signed, so he can Make Britain Perfidious Albion Again. What more could anyone want?

Illegal migrants have nothing whatever to do with Brexit, as I pointed out repeatedly before the referendum. They’re mostly coming from Calais, where the French have for years observed an entirely irrational ‘border’ which has kept said migrants from pitching up in Kent instead (Kent will have no room – it’s being turned into a lorry park after the end of the transition period!).

I guess we could drown them, but beyond that I don’t know what the answer is. Doubtless now that Him In Florida has made his regular appearance Janos will reappear to tell me. And drowning them won’t be excluded. As I understand it, most of them are to be deported, as is the way. All takes time, money and due process, unlike the drowning option.

      • GreenAlba September 21, 2020 at 12:34 pm #

Note that once all transitional arrangements have expired, the French are under NO obligation to renew the protocol whereby all the migrants no-one wants, who are aiming for the UK, are held in Calais (situation of the supposed ‘border’ with the UK). Another bit of Brexity news that wasn’t painted on the side of a bus.

Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone? 🙂

            ‘All this’?

Angela Merkel’s father was a Lutheran pastor and she is, likewise, a Lutheran. She also happens to be party leader of the Christian Democratic Union.

Trudeau’s a Catholic, like many another Québecois. I don’t find either of these facts to be esoteric. Maybe Americans show less interest in general knowledge – I don’t know. But it certainly makes it easy for people like Him in Florida just to say stuff and have a whole lot of people nod their head like sheep.

        • Kim September 21, 2020 at 9:29 pm #

Refugee status is the main problem, I should think.

Illegals arrive in Europe, call themsleves refugees and get on the gravy train. As refugees they can get the same social security benefits as UK nationals, capped at almost £30,000.

Not bad for just a little perjury that will never be challenged or punished.

Maybe the UK should make it harder to claim refugee status. “Refugees” have to pass through lots of countries before they get to the UK. Any reason they had to come to Britain?

They should also have very uncomfortable detention facilities and expeditious expulsion. Perhaps Britian could contract to put them on Manus Island in Papua New Guinea or on Christmas Island.

Once Australia adopted that detention policy, those “refugees” didn’t appear to be so keen to flee all of that opporession back home.

And someone should advise them not to burn their papers…unless they want to stay in detention forever.

          • GreenAlba September 22, 2020 at 7:06 am #

Your modus operandi is transparent, Kim-troll. You do it by loose vocabulary which very effectively carries lies and erroneous insinuations.

‘Illegals’ arriving in the UK are not refugees. They are asylum seekers. While they are asylum seekers (a period which can last many years) they are detained – maybe in a detention centre, maybe in a cheap hotel – and they are given less than £6/day subsistence. The asylum seekers who were moved into a hotel in Glasgow where one of them flipped and attacked people were put in that hotel to keep them ‘safe’ (yeah …) during Covid, and their less-than-£6/day was taken away from them for the duration, on the basis that they were already being provided with subsistence in the hotel/prison.

Some of the asylum seekers find the conditions and the long waits so miserable, following the conditions they’ve left behind, and their resulting mental state, that they commit suicide.

If their asylum application is successful (about 6% of applications, I think, according to the link I posted upthead?), they will be accorded refugee status. The Home Office notoriously errs on the side of lack of compassion in asylum applications. Clearly a small country can’t accommodate the entire suffering world.

Regarding the £30,000/year figure, please clarify if you are referring to a single male or a large family, recalling how much is made of the issue that ‘they’re all single males’, coming here and raping our women’. Note that I’m not attributing this accusation to you, just repeating what I’ve read on here from a variety of people.

          • GreenAlba September 22, 2020 at 7:46 am #

PS initial refugee status is granted for five years. At the end of this probationary period the situation of the refugee is reviewed.

Each case is subjected to a ‘safe return review’ which assesses whether or not the person would still be in danger if they returned to their country of origin.

Further requirements for indefinite leave to remain include submission of a residence card for a continuous period of five years which has not been revoked or renewed. The applicant will also have to demonstrate the lack of a criminal history and prove that there is no evidence of extremist behaviour that runs contrary to the British values.

Citizenship (you’ll recall Scoubi referred to putting them ‘on the conveyor belt to full citizenship of GB’, a picture you didn’t challenge), has to be earned.

“In essence, the [2009 Borders, Citizenship and
Immigration] Act constitutes a new naturalisation process for foreign citizens based on the notion of “earned citizenship?, whereby migrants seeking to settle would need to demonstrate a more visible and a more substantial contribution to Britain. Instead of applying directly for full citizenship after five years would-be citizens will have an additional period of “probationary citizenship? which can be accelerated through a demonstration of active citizenship, but can be slowed down or halted altogether by criminality, gaining or losing points counting towards full citizenship in the process. Active citizenship (the “activity condition?) is envisaged as meaning civic or voluntary activities.”

I would provide the link but when I click on it, it immediately downloads as a PDF to my computer, from which I cannot provide it. The document is called ‘Citizenship for Refugees in the UK – Key Issues and Research – February 2010’, should you wish to find it yourself.

I don’t make laws myself, obviously, and no-one asks me what I think. If you are a British citizen, I’m sure your MP will be happy to hear any views you have on this situation. If you’re not, well maybe you just need to worry more about your own country, wherever it is.

Has anyone argued that they have? No, no one has.

What I argued was that though governments are elected with an populist agenda, or one to conserve the character of, say, Great-Britain, when in power they do not.

“I guess we could drown them”
As if the only options are to either drown them or put them on the conveyor belt to full citizenship of GB. As opposed to fly them back to Morocco or Bengladesh or Somalia posthaste.

I hope I responded to that elsewhere. Most of them will be deported in due course. After due process. Those who get to stay will do so under normal asylum protocols. I still don’t know what you think it has to do with either the EU or Brexit. Or whose fault you think it is.

Personally I’d have made every aid arrangement for the last 50 years contingent on compliance with birth control programmes, but guess who, in the donor nations, has never liked that sort of thing? Rightwingers and churches, for starters.

“I’d have made every aid arrangement for the last 50 years contingent on compliance with birth control programmes”

Would that include abortion and or sterilizations – tubal ligations and vasectomies? Would such measures be encouraged with financial rewards, or would failure to comply be punished socially, perhaps with denial of housing, benefits, educational places for chilldren?

That was the way of the PRC. By any definition, you are proposing a eugenic program aimed at the weakest and poorest and indeed at specific racial groups.

Maybe we should just specify population specific reduction targets for the Third World. Exactly how many fewer future Third World browns and blacks do you think would be required to stem the tide of illegal immigration to Britain?

You are deep, deep, deep into Indira Ghandi and Margaret Sanger territory with these pronouncements.

In any case, I await your clarifications of your proposed policy position with great attention.

You seem to be trolling. Putting words in my mouth. Remember the apology you owe me and try to aim for a little more decorum.

I said nothing about the PRC, but thank you so much for presuming to educate me on the matter, You’ve read my opinions on many of the practices of the Chinese government on here.

“You are deep, deep, deep into Indira Ghandi and Margaret Sanger territory with these pronouncements.”

            What pronouncements is that, exactly?

“In any case, I await your clarifications of your proposed policy position with great attention.”

There it is. That is your pronouncement. That Westrrn foreign policy these last fifty years should have bribed and extorted poor countries into a population policy that limited their numbers.

            Pretend not to understand that.

This clearly places you on the same policy platform as Indira Gandhi (enforced sterilization for low-caste Indians) and Margaret Sanger, surely you know of her (Planned Parenthood, especially for negroes).

It also places you in perfect alignment with the enforced one child policy of the PRC.

But you are right about one thing at least – totalitarian eugenics programs of the kind you have proposed certainly are objectionable to “right wingers and churches”.

          • GreenAlba September 22, 2020 at 6:45 am #

@Kim-troll c/o disingenuously putting words in my mouth.

There is a birth control programme in my country. It involves providing entirely voluntary birth control to all those who wish it, without up-front cost.

It is an add-on to an educational system that educates girls and women, so that (barring those whose religious communities and male partners still pressure them) they can make their own reproductive choices. And don’t even think of putting words in my mouth about abortion, troll.

Please clariify what you find offensive in this birth-control programme.

I wonder where Green Alba will go, when she is reduced to refugee status in her own country? It sounds cold, but flying them back to wherever they came from won’t work. They should be stopped before they enter the country, or the continent of Europe. Ditto for North America.

          • GreenAlba September 22, 2020 at 9:38 am #

It’s a nice thought, cbeard (perhaps), but there is such a thing as international maritime law. Getting round it is becoming a bit of a thing now, around the most unfairly and sorely tried countries, such as Greece, Italy and Spain, but it still exists.

Otherwise, I agree with you, to a large extent, that preventing people from getting here in the first place is the ideal. That is why the Cameron government and the May government prioritised helping Syrian refugees in situ (and almost in-situ) rather than accepting huge numbers of them in the UK (most notably compared to the Schengen area of the EU).

Doubtless you are aware that the vast majority of those pesky black and brown people who have fled their countries are temporarily settled in other black and brown countries. Only a small proportion of them ever reach Europe or even try to.

You will also be aware of the situation in Turkey, where Erdogan is using the millions of (mostly Syrian) refugees as political pawns to get various things he wants from the EU, and threatening the EU with unleashing them (about four million of them) on the EU if the EU doesn’t oblige. The world is a complicated place.

The EU, for its part, has been paying Erdogan huge amounts of money to keep them in Turkey. Perhaps you have some ideas for keeping them out of Turkey in the first place. Perhaps you have some ideas for preventing wars in places like Syria and Iraq in the first place.

Perhaps you want to destroy the 1951 refugee protocols to which both our countries are signatories. That can be done too, presumably.

Meanwhile, facile comments like ‘I wonder where Green Alba will go when she is reduced to refugee status in her own country’ are just that – facile.

“Brexit happened at the end of last year.”

Brexit happened. And the EU is arguing the GB is still bound to the rules of the EU.

That is exactly my point. No matter what elections you win, the referendum you win, governments are now irrelevant. The technocrats, the international agreements and free-trade deals, the judiciary all overrule helpless politicians. If you want a vision of the future, imagine a technocrat boot stamping on a fly-over state deplorable face – forever.

        • GreenAlba September 21, 2020 at 3:06 pm #

The EU is only arguing that the UK is bound to EU standards if it wants to trade with the EU on equal terms. Are you really suggesting that farmers in the EU should put up with inferior produce, produced to lower standards, flooding their country at a lower price, the way the UK is going to have to accept if it caves in to with the US?

If there isn’t a level playing field, then the EU is better trading with the UK as a third party, with no special favours. That will mean 40% tariffs on much agricultural produce. Tough, British farmers – this is what you voted for. Go sell your meat to China. Or Tuvalu.

And Boris will have to hope the Republicans take over the US Congress for the duration, because the Democrats have made it clear that there won’t be a US-UK trade deal if Boris reneges on the exit agreement he signed and puts the Good Friday Agreement in jeopardy. Oops.

We do know what the answer is, and its not multi culturalism.

I dont think the Shredni solution [torpedos] is necessary yet.

          • GreenAlba September 21, 2020 at 5:44 pm #

I don’t have the answer to anything much, malthuss. I don’t know why you’d think I do.

What I do know is that globalism is a much more expansive beast than Brexit was ever going to challenge. Brexit is pretty much an irrelevance, and if you’re going to shoot yourself in the foot economically and destroy people’s jobs, you’re better doing it for some useful purpose, not just so that you can throw off EU regulations in order to throw your farmers under a US bus. For instance. Only the naive would think, looking at Brexit leaders such as investment banker, John Redwood, and investment banker, Jacob Rees-Mogg, married into the aristocracy, that it was conceived to help ordinary working families.

And if non-EU immigration has been way more than internal EU migration for years, then Brexit isn’t the logical place to start. But already we have people moaning that the non-EU illegal migration problem continues, as if it had ever been anything to do with the EU in the first place.

Look into the extent of international money laundering in the UK and the complicity of the major banks. A lot of the money is oligarch money from Putin’s cronies – money basically stolen from the Russian people. And the naive think Brexit is going to fundamentally change the way things work. Really? I’ll get my popcorn.

Your third line means nothing, absolutely nothing, in the context of desperate asylum seekers making their way in small boats from Calais, across one of the most dangerous shipping lanes in the world. Migrants most of whom will be deported back to where they came from.

        • GreenAlba September 21, 2020 at 6:10 pm #

“That is exactly my point. No matter what elections you win, the referendum you win, governments are now irrelevant. ”

On that point I agree with you. That’s why I didn’t think Brexit was a priority. And I’ve explained my personal preference for Brexit before – it would have involved preparations starting 15 years prior to Brexit, in order to train doctors, nurses, engineers and a whole lot of other necessary personnel from home-grown stock, to avoid what’s actually going to happen – internal EU migrants being replaced by immigrants from outside the EU.

It would also have involved a continuation of primarily regional trade, because I prefer my food not to have come from the other side of the world, as is the preference of dumb politicians who think food from the other side of the world is always going to be forthcoming.

          • Kim September 21, 2020 at 9:56 pm #

            @ Green Alba

to train doctors, nurses, engineers and a whole lot of other necessary personnel from home-grown stock,

Strangely, I find myself warming to some of your opinions.

It would also have involved a continuation of primarily regional trade, because I prefer my food not to have come from the other side of the world, as is the preference of dumb politicians who think food from the other side of the world is always going to be forthcoming.

This is a wierd one, though. Are you imagining some changes in the world economy such that the UK and Europe would have to return to the trading arrangements of the Plantagenets, with wide bottomed merchant craft sailing off to trade British wool in Bordeaux for wine and wheat?

I have to say, that is as romantic as hell.

Maybe Britain could regain control of Flanders, Britanny and Aquitaine?

That would allow Britain to deal with the “refugees” directly…preferably in the course of a chevauchee.

          • GreenAlba September 22, 2020 at 6:03 am #

I was going to reply to your post (starting with your bizarre bolding of ‘home-grown stock’, which in the UK includes black and brown people who have been here for generations – so that’s interesting that you’re warming to my ideas without even establishing what they are.

But then your post descended into nonsensical trolling, so I realised it didn’t justify the dignity of a response.

We’ve had fewer than 20,000 actual covid deaths with the rest of the dead actually dying of the terminal illnesses they already had. 20k is actually a very mild flu season. I know you guys with TDS can’t deal with numbers or facts but, c’mon, try just a little.

Approximately 90% of influenza-related deaths occur among people aged over 65. So you need to reduce the flu death rate to 10% of the official figures, in order to make your comparison. And then exclude the infirm, frail and otherwise immune-compromised (including babies and young children) from your new total.

For the people who can’t deal with numbers or facts, but c’mon, want to try.

Personally, my first objection is that they have steamrolled an entire house to kill the annoying mosquito trapped inside.

            The over-reaction has been absurd.

A second objection is the dishonest claim that this is a reaction to a public health emergency when the CDC, WHO, etc’s total lack of policy consistency proves that claim is just a cover, because they don’t react in the same way at all when faced with other public health “crises”.

As I have pointed out here before, 560,000 people die every year in the USA of obesity-related illnesses. This happens reliably each and every year and affects not predominantly just the elderly but on the contrary a very wide demographic.

This happens year-in year-out despite the fact that the primary causes of obesity are very well known and the solution is simple.

And most important of all – I suppose – it worst affects society’s blameless little pets in the USA, blacks. So really, shouldn’t we all be running around like our hair is on fire over this issue?

If government and global power-groups were to react to endemic obesity with the, let’s say, “determination” as they have to this Chinese flu, then there would be carb-rationing and smartphone apps to track your carb consumption, and there would be mandatory walking and other draconian measures implemented population-wide.

Pretty soon, the obesity problem would be under control and the health of the nation would be immeasurably improved.

But they are not doing that. Why not?

I am sure that if there were an obesity vaccine – now there’s billions in Big Pharma profits! – they would have it mandated quick smart and “anti-vaxxers” would be being socially shamed from pillar to post.

And don’t forget the Third World. In the Third World they have an obesity problem too, you know. Maybe in those places brown and black women could get the vaccine with their tubal ligations, and brown men could get the jab with their vasectomy?

The whole thing is a transparent beat-up.

None of which I have denied. You seem to be confusing me with someone who has advocated widespread and lasting lockdowns.

I am merely advocating the correct use of statistics, i.e. not using them to tell lies.

There has been a widespread and gleeful bandwagon saying ‘let’s compare flu and Covid deaths statistics but we’ll interpret each of them differently in the way that suits our narrative’. I don’t even put it down to deliberate lying, but mostly down to innumeracy and statistical illiteracy.

            https://www.amazon.com/Deadly-Medicines-Organised-Crime-Healthcare/dp/1846198844

PRESCRIPTION DRUGS ARE THE THIRD LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH AFTER HEART DISEASE AND CANCER.

In his latest ground-breaking book, Peter C Gotzsche exposes the pharmaceutical industries and their charade of fraudulent behaviour, both in research and marketing where the morally repugnant disregard for human lives is the norm. He convincingly draws close comparisons with the tobacco conglomerates, revealing the extraordinary truth behind efforts to confuse and distract the public and their politicians.

The book addresses, in evidence-based detail, an extraordinary system failure caused by widespread crime, corruption, bribery and impotent drug regulation in need of radical reforms. “The main reason we take so many drugs is that drug companies don’t sell drugs, they sell lies about drugs.

This is what makes drugs so different from anything else in life…Virtually everything we know about drugs is what the companies have chosen to tell us and our doctors…the reason patients trust their medicine is that they extrapolate the trust they have in their doctors into the medicines they prescribe.

The patients don’t realise that, although their doctors may know a lot about diseases and human physiology and psychology, they know very, very little about drugs that hasn’t been carefully concocted and dressed up by the drug industry…

If such a hugely lethal epidemic had been caused by a new bacterium or a virus, or even one-hundredth of it, we would have done everything we could to get it under control.”

Indeed. This experiment appears to be a test run, and it has been informative.

I used to wonder how some of the more historically siginificant totalitarian governments were successful in bending such broad swathes of their populations to their will.

Jocularity aside, EF, I trust you know I would wish you a long(er) and still-fulfilling life, despite the inconveniences of old age.

Flippant humour comes to me sometimes. It was helped at an earlier stage of my life by the experience of supply (‘replacement’?) teaching in some tough schools, where the gallows humour in the staff room was one of several coping mechanisms that helped people put one foot in front of the other when the bell rang for the return to class. 🙂

A similar phenomenon may be observed among medics, in addition to their high smoking and drinking rates.

Actually, considering the lies, subterfuge, less than par tests and politics involved, then the actual number of deaths may be closer to 40,000. Who really knows, considering the total lack of common sense and denial of reality in America today.

During the impeachment hearings several times I brought up the infamous Biden Burisma tape and was told “that didn’t matter! Biden was told the prosecutor was corrupt and that’s why he wanted him fired. It had nothing to do with his son.” The lines have been drawn not in sand but quick-dry concrete and a mountain of evidence will not change one single vote. I’m afraid you’re going to be disappointed if you think anything is really going to happen. When or if indictments are issued MSNBC and their ilk will begin screaming Trump is Hitler/Putin/Stalin/Satan and is trying to crush his enemies.

RBG should have quit at the beginning of Obama’s first term if she wanted to insure a left-leaning judge. Democrats controlled the Senate then and she was 75 and had cancer. Sorry not to join the sobfest, but she could have made a contribution to the Democrats then.

Obama has already stated that since McConnell wouldn’t confirm his nominee (Merrick) b/c of some made-up rule that you can’t nominate a Supreme Court justice in an election year, then Trump can’t either. Politics at the highest level have become childish nonsense.

“There’s the Swamp teeming with scaley, slithery, sharp-toothed, many-footed predators, but then there’s the miasma hanging over the Swamp, a toxic mist of lies, misdirection, dis-info, propaganda, bad faith, and sedition, illuminated by pulsing blue gaslight that affords a toxic blanket of protection to the denizens of the Swamp.”

True Swamps play a critical role in our natural environment and for the health of our planet. Swamps give life to countless living creatures and act as critical filters to remove harmful things from our natural surroundings. In short, true swamps are a good thing.

Politics has unfairly given swamps a bad name. What we have in the bowels of our political system is not so much A Swamp to be Drained but deeply foul rot and horribly stinky odors more akin to the stuff that goes into a septic tank.

Drain the Swamp? No, keep the good swamps. But drain the American Political Septic Tank which has been overflowing for years and extending its stench-filled banks way too far into the good growing topsoil of our national body politic.

“Hence, panic in the swamp. Joe Biden’s misadventures, and his pitiful fate, are but the outer rainbands of the brewing storm. There’s the threat of further and widespread riots, of course, but since when has insurrection proved to be a winning campaign strategy in a country not entirely gone to the dogs?”

When one has no legitimate or positive platform to promote and stand upon, all that is left is to tear something down and hope to feel a high from thinking you did something useful. America has two political parties that are idea bankrupt. They have none. All the D’s have to sell is We Aren’t Trump. All the R’s have left is We Are Nothing But Trump.

We don’t have political parties anymore, we Two Cults Based On One Man – Pro or Con.

Oh please, its a figure of speech. As for the state of politics (that’s what you’re complaining about”) our government was set-up as it is to be self remediating against such situations as we’re now experiencing. As for swamps, if you’ve spent any tiime in them as I have, you’ll know that as survival challenge they are hell.

You’ve got some really decent points in this poast. I mean, when it was revealed that Sleepy Joe’s (Yes, Trump nailed that one) son was earning $600k/year as a board member of some oil company – a field he had exactly 0% experience in – how could the corrupt DNC still push Biden?!? I mean, he went into Super Tuesday barely pulling double digits – yet he *MIRACULOUSLY* swept that, and the 2 states he lost, he *BARELY* lost. That’s called rigging elections – but the DNC admits as much – it’s their party, and they can do what they want. Just like in 2016. The Duopoly shines in this example, they’re (corporations/oligarchs) all in it together.

What you all seem to ignore, is that they divide/conquer us pleebs so we find/fight the enemy within us, not the true enemy – *THEM* . And y’all will never get that, will you. Y’all will blame it on minorities stealing your jobs, when the decent jobs were offshored/outsourced to slave labour decades ago. The illegals harvesting the crops you eat at the grocery store have a migration pattern – deep south winter crops, summer west coast fruit crops. Covid-19, anyone?!? The migrant slave crop labour is spreading this SH! from the deep south. You not getting that, either.

Good discussion by Chris Hedges on a youtube channel called act.tv about furthering social/economic trouble in the US. Worth watching. I largely can agree with Hedges’ description of the problems experienced by the US, but I generally disagree with his socialistic prescriptions (or radical interpretation) for those problems. For example, at the end of the talk he advocated for “resisting like the youth in the US” (paraphrasing). If by ‘resisting’ I think he means the actions by antifa in places like Portland. I could be wrong. That’s how I got from his language.

Hedges did very correctly drew parallels between Yugoslavia & the US pre-Civil War. I totally agreed with his assessment in that regard. Hedges mentioned the creation of martyrs by extremist movements that may be created in the recent violence, as well as the willful denial of entropy by the elites in Pristina pre-Kosovo war, amongst many other points.

One of the most applicable & insightful things Hedges said was on the topic of violence itself. It is a narcotic. The drug of violence will make disaffected & powerless & aggrieved people do horrific things. It was the best part of the talk, imho. Very spot on.

One of the many frustrating things about the current morass– and this is really affecting the global economy as a whole and not just the US one– are monopolies of corporate power. Monopolism, the role of debt accrual thru credit card companies, the multinational organization of corporations, the role of banks, and other associated cutthroat and/or anti-capitalist practices– are not addressed politically.

I think if a civic nationalo-populist like Trump addressed one of these issues– perhaps one of the most prescient, like let’s take monopolism– it would be wildly & broadly popular, by people on both political wings.

Fossil fuels-run struggling ‘democracy’ systems, including national grids, are a demonstration that the social contract cannot be valid unless written in the context of Energy.

That’s a clever analogy Mr. K. Hurricanes always get a bad rap because they can be so destructive of course, but they actually play a very important role in environmental and ecological processes like reshaping the coastline and disrupting the succession of forest growth. But what of a socio-political hurricane? I for one hope such a hurricane would among other things disrupt the tightening stranglehold that corporations and their oligarchs and their think tanks and lobbyists have on the political process and society in general. Ideally it would wipe them out basically but maybe it doesn’t have to be a category five? It’s funny because the trail always leads back to the same general ravenous alligators and lizards, I mean people.

That’s pretty good for a whole day, considering we’re estimated to have around 1,500 bacteria living on each square centimetre of skin on our hands – even more underneath the fingernails and between the fingers. And you didn’t mention if they were harmful bacteria. Most aren’t. Thankfully, given we’re covered in them, inside and out.

Anyone wearing the same mask for 8 hours (barring hospital PPE shortages such as we saw in March/April) is evidence of someone somewhere (parents? schoolteachers?) having no clue about what they’re doing.

When I had to take a train down south in May I used five masks in a five-hour journey, then the same (washed) coming back.

People who take off a mask, put it in their pocket, handle it, and put it back on to go into another shop merely show how poor the advice has been and how lacking in basic science and common sense most people are. In these circumstances, people are far better without masks. And school children wearing them all day in school (or getting the same one in and out of their pocket) is ludicrous.

And it enables trolls to find quick and easy straw men.

      • Night Owl September 22, 2020 at 11:08 am #

A moist mask covering the most vulnerable areas for air intake. Teeming with bacteria and mold. Placing the individual at higher risk of catching something. And the best part: with no ability to filter the vius.

        A “straw man.”

You’re just pressing your own button and saying the same thing over and over.

Like a dying Dalek whose batteries are dud.

Although I think wearing a mask for 8 hours is mad, I’m not sure why an 8-hour buildup of normal, non-dangerous bacteria put you at a higher risk of ‘catching something’? What kind of ‘something’ are you thinking of? Something you breathed out yourself or something from your hands or something that jumped off someone else’s cheese sandwich?

I love the hyperbole, though. Is that what they pay you for?

          You’re quite the drama queen.

Some interesting material regarding the efficacy of “protective masks”:

Is a mask necessary in the operating theatre?

Is Routine Use of a Face Mask Necessary in the Operating Room?

      Karolinska University Hospital Solna
      Anesthesiology December 2010, Vol. 113, 1447.

WHEN introduced a century ago, the purpose of the surgical facemask was to provide protection for the patient from surgical wound infections. But is there evidence that face masks prevent wound infections? A recent review concluded that it is not clear whether face masks prevent surgical wound infections,1 and the scientific evidence for this practice is weak and insufficient.1,2 Questioning the efficacy of surgical face masks, an established routine in operating rooms worldwide, is clearly controversial given the tradition of the practice. Recognizing the lack of sound scientific evidence, we have changed facemask routines in several units at the Karolinska University Hospital (see image by Henrik Jörnvall, M.D., Ph.D., Department of Anesthesia, Surgical Sciences and Intensive Care, Karolinska University Hospital Solna, Stockholm, Sweden).

Anesthesia personnel are no longer required to wear disposable face masks in the operating room, a practice approved by our surgical colleagues. Surgeons, their assistants, and scrub nurses are still required to wear masks.

Face masks are worn by all operating room personnel when treating patients susceptible to infections as in neurosurgery, vascular, and orthopedic procedures involving implants and regional anesthesia procedures (e.g. , spinal or epidural). Face masks are also used to protect staff from contamination. All personnel wear face masks when taking care of trauma patients or patients with blood-borne infections.

Our decision to no longer require routine surgical masks for personnel not scrubbed for surgery is a departure from common practice. But the evidence to support this practice does not exist, and studies to establish differences in infection rates with or without face masks will likely be difficult to design and implement given the small potential effect.

Does evidence based medicine support the effectiveness of surgical facemasks in preventing postoperative wound infections in elective surgery?
      Z. M. Bahli
      Published 2009
      Medicine
Journal of Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad : JAMC

      RESULTS
No significance difference in the incidence of postoperative wound infection was observed between masks group and groups operated with no masks (1.34, 95% CI, 0.58-3.07). There was no increase in infection rate in 1980 when masks were discarded. In fact there was significant decrease in infection rate (p < 0.05).

      CONCLUSION
From the limited randomized trials it is still not clear that whether wearing surgical face masks harms or benefit the patients undergoing elective surgery.

What have surgical masks in operations to (purportedly) prevent wound infection got to do with lowering the viral load in Coronavirus transmission? If the staff in the operating theatre don’t have any dangerous bugs they’re not going to infect any wounds, presumably?

But I think your buying in to masks is quite common among the female population. Females tend to trust and believe what government figures and authorities tell them. Paternalism is embraced more readily by the gals. It just is what it is.

          • GreenAlba September 22, 2020 at 12:38 pm #

I’m not ‘buying into masks’, cc.

I’m accepting them for what I believe they achieve, which is – in specific situations of short duration only (and NOT in situations like school classrooms where I believe their use to be delusional, for reasons I’ve explained many times) – to potentially lower the viral load by having some of the virus-transporting droplets absorbed by the mask. If, with the help of a mask and other people’s masks, I get sick but not as sick as I might otherwise have, I’m happy with that. If only I should be so lucky.

Other things advised by the authorities I pay no attention to. What I’m trying to get at is that I make up my own mind, despite your heavy sexism.

But thanks for not wishing me disappeared, just the same. Others are trying hard. And they may succeed. It’s not like I don’t have other things to do, even like enjoying a book and a cuppa, without being trolled. It’s just a habit, coming on here, but it also keeps me abreast of what’s going on in the big country across the sea, which affects us all.

  51. benr September 22, 2020 at 11:03 am #

    Hmm how does this work?

A Boeing 747 airliner holds 57,285 gallons of fuel. At around $3/gallon for jet fuel, it would cost $171,855 for you to fill it up. Talk about an expensive gas bill.

If the average seat is 400 dollars the math does not really work for fuel, operating costs, paychecks.

    • beantownbill. September 22, 2020 at 11:59 am #

You need to know the mileage and distance figures first. For example, I believe a jetliner gets about 3 miles per gallon. So for a coast-to-coast trip – 3000 miles – the plane would burn only 1,000 gallons, hardly unprofitable. Even if I somehow got the figures inverted and the plane burns 3 gallons per mile, Which I don’t think is the case, that would consume only 9000 gallons, or less than 1/6th of a tank. Doing a little more thinking, your 57,000 gallon capacity at probably 3 mi/gal means a 747 could fly over 19,000 miles before refilling.

  52. beantownbill. September 22, 2020 at 12:37 pm #

I just looked up some official specs for the 747. It seems there are several models, and you used the figures for the 747-400, the Dreamliner. You appeared to have misread the fuel capacity units. The capacity you used is in pounds, not gallons. The fuel cost per passenger is around 25€, and given the price of a ticket is very reasonable.

    • stelmosfire September 22, 2020 at 2:11 pm #

A 747-400 burns around 7 gallons per mile on average or about 23,000 pounds per hour at cruising altitude. It carry’s about 60,000 gallons depending on model and with a range of about 8500 miles. A cheap seat from New York to Hong Kong round trip is $1200 which is well within reach for Boeing’s big bird. A premium seat is more like $2500- $4000. Newer twin engine planes are fuel sippers compared to the 747 which is a 50+ year old design

      GA

There are folks too that agree with your conservative approach to controlling any epidemic.

One thing that is not even being watched. What is the effect of masking, distancing, hand washing etc, on the incidence of the flu and the common cold?

I already told the story, but here it is again.

I was appalled at a gentleman that I was talking to last week. We were about ten feet apart, six is not far enough. He was backlit by the setting sun. The amount of spray that he emitted while just talking was surprising even to me. It traveled about 2-3 feet, my estimate, and the droplets were plenty big enough to see.

If he had been wearing a mask, there would have been no spray. If I had been standing next to him, I would have been sprayed upon.

Even If droplets are stopped either direction by masks, they are an effective barrier against this form of contamination. So put down that when in close to other people, <3 feet, masks will protect you from spray from their talking . Singing or yelling, think sports, would naturally increase that distance.

Now, for all you anti-maskers. Airborne transmission. Think of a smoky room in the old cigarette days. The more smokers the more concentration of smoke. Now substitute virus from any contamination source, one positive siting in the back of the room can diffuse his bodily output of virus throughout the room. Tiny viruses can probably be spread by Brownian movement. Anyway, eventually the viruses spread throughout the room. That is how one person can infect 50 others in an indoor badly ventilated closed space. To defeat this spread, outdoors for groups, effective HVAC with hepa filtration indoors where the air is being replaced in rapid rates. I think of casinos scrubbing their air with rapid replacement to eliminate smoke from cigarettes. Same thing.

With aerosols and airborne transmissions, the particles go right through a cloth mask. No help. So for this form of transmission, masks are worthless. The environment must be modified and crowds thinned as the only way to stop this spread.

The CDC released a statement yesterday that airborne transmission is legit. Then it reversed the statement and returned to droplet only.

Why? Easy to guess. Politics. The Right sitting there knowing airborne transmission condemns crowds, sports, any crowded indoor activity. A major very expensive revamp of indoor environments would be necessary to put down the virus. This is a decision for a society. There is a steady state infection rate for every state, except Vermont, in spite of all the mitigation techniques. I suggest that this is due to airborne transmission which mitigation does nothing for. If so, masks help prevent close in, less than ten feet, transmission from droplets, but no help with airborne.

This is cloth masks. N95 sealed masks are used with airborne isolation in the hospital for say, TB. But also negative pressure rooms and hepa filtering is used.

Masks remove one source of contamination, but not the other. I for one want to give myself every advantage to not get this crud.

      Fade to silence again.

    • Kim September 22, 2020 at 11:08 pm #

I am a bit disappointed in you Bill, that you would endorse someone like Green Alba who has publicly called for a Western policy of genocide against brown and black people in the Third World.

Consider what Green Alba has said, and not yet apologized for saying:

“I’d have made every aid arrangement for the last 50 years contingent on compliance with birth control programmes”

This statement is very clear. It means only one thing: an imperialist foreign policy of using threats, bribes and extortion as a method of Third World population reduction.

Green Alba made this statement above. You can check it.

Again, for a man such as yourself, given the sad and unique history of your people, to show support for someone so insensitive to issues of genocide and eugenics…well, it is disappointing at the very least.

I can only assume that you were not aware of Green Alba”s stated views and of what a sack of hypocritical shit she really is.

      • beantownbill. September 23, 2020 at 12:37 pm #

You don’t really know know me, Kim, only just from some posts I’ve made here. So let me give you some personal information. I am neither a liberal or a conservative as I have some opinions considered liberal and some considered conservative. I try to be non-confrontational even though I’m not afraid of confrontation – I just like being calm and polite. For example, I think we are mostly in agreement about the Democratic Party.

In regard to Green Alba, I don’t find anything she says objectionable. As far as birth control is concerned, I’m in favor of that, even for Americans. Let’s face it, the world is overpopulated, given our inability to manage our environment. And 3rd world countries reproduce faster than others, for whatever their reasons. I don’t want to see America’s population approach one billion. IMO, instituting mandatory birth control is not genocide, it’s population-level maintenance; no group is being eliminated. And to further add fuel to the fire, I’m in favor of abortion. Go ahead, argue with me or castigate me, I don’t care. To me, abortion is not immoral – at least for the first few months of pregnancy. This nonsense of aborting near full-term fetuses or later is so ridiculous as to merit no further discussion.

        Kim

You are a quite disgusting liar. On top of the earlier pile of filth you addressed to me, based on wilful stupidity and misogyny, here you are at it again.

I’ll grant you the actual words were written quickly and not well chosen, but I have never proposed and never would propose any kind of birth control programme that involved anything other than entirely voluntary participation. I am thinking of the oft-cited example of Kerala (a state with a large number of Christians), where the provision of education for women and free (and entirely voluntary) reproductive healthcare has reduced the average number of births to around 4 instead of a previously higher figure. The replacement fertility level, as you will of course know, is 2.1 babies per woman. So you know where you can stuff your revolting talk of genocide (beyond revolting in an unrepentant holocaust denier).

There is a reader and sometime contributor to this blog who is/was popular among the conservative commenters. He argued with me that black ‘welfare mamas’ should be sterilised after the first child. One child only to be kept by the taxpayer. No-one disagreed with him. This can be a strange place.

But being lectured to by someone who despises black people, doesn’t want their excess populations to migrate in desperation to the west, and also considers that a substantial section of his own compatriots are ‘barely human parasites and vermin’, is quite a treat.

It’s an interesting implication too, getting back to an earlier post, that sections of the American population have no problem with aid arrangements being contingent on the purchase of expensive weaponry, which may even be used against a government’s own population, but consider that it would be immoral to insist that part of said aid be used to provide basic healthcare, specifically reproductive healthcare, to the poorest of the poor, so that they might avoid such horrors as having to sell their own children whom they cannot feed.

There’s no accounting for people’s moral universe. I’m not sure how much lower you are prepared to go to achieve your aim, but you may well achieve it, as I am not like you.

        • GreenAlba September 24, 2020 at 7:31 am #

And by the way, you shameless, manipulative liar, I do not equate birth control with abortion. They are two different things to my mind, so they’re not even part of the above argument, but an entirely different one.

I just read Smith’s essay. Very, very sobering. Whereas JHK’s about energy depletion, Smith gives a more complete picture of why we are now doomed, not just our way of life. I don’t know how accurate his prognostications are, but they seem reasonable. Before I despair (which I am not), I would have to read other sources. BUT, given the seriousness of the claims, everyone here ought to read his essay and use their reasoning powers. That there’s no specific discussions here on this matter, and that the discussions on this blog are really minor compared to what ;we may be soon facing, shows me even intelligent people are burying their heads in the sand.

In posting a link to the essay, you have done us a great service. Thank you.

You’re welcome, Bill. I thought there was a YouTube version of it, but there is this talk by Sid S. (How to Enjoy the End of the World) which is about an hour long and excellent. You might ‘enjoy’ it, although that’s probably not the right word. It might include the bunnies in the meadow – I don’t recall!

I see that someone has quoted Gramsci in the comments, with the words ‘pessimism of the intellect, optimism of the will’, which I hadn’t heard before.

Maybe that’s one we need to work on!

        Oh. My. God.

I just noticed this sentence. This sentence was written by the person who spat on the graves of the Jews murdered at Treblinka by denying that it was a death camp. Likewise claimed that tales of the Holocaust in general were fantasy produced by the ‘farce’ of Nuremberg, where dissenting ‘evidence’ was not allowed.

Did I say ‘how low will you go?’ How low???!!!!!

I wonder what has got Herschel Walker so fired up.

Read Twitter from him yesterday. He is tying the financing of BLM/Antifa to China and saying their are intermediary funding sites that are passing the money through. The remainder of the money not used goes guess where? The Democratic Party.

There are decades old connections between Trump and Walker but this is, if true, the most damning statement against American polity I have heard in a while.

Is China running half of the US polity? What the hell else are they running to drive our country down. Is Biden a dupe for China directly or through the Deep State? Is the Deep State a dupe for China?

What is the relationship between the globalist forces of Soros et al and China? Should the US and Russia be very careful about China’s ambitions? Just how far is the CCP willing to go to institute their form of government on us then the world.

    Russia on steroids.

If Herschel actually spoke on this topic, rather than merely tweeting, I would be interested to hear it. Why? Because, back in the day when Herschel was an active pro he was one of the most inarticulate players in all football. I think his oratory may have improved somewhat over the years.

In any case Herschel is the perfect guy to support Trump… Black and anti-BLM.

      • JohnAZ September 22, 2020 at 1:33 pm #

The report I got was not from reading Twitter but an article about his twitter comments.

Remember the connection, Trump owner of the New Jersey Generals in the USFL, wanted to up the quality of his team to eventually join the NFL. The league agreed to working with the outcasts of the NFL draft, but Trump drafted Walker, who I believe was the Heisman winner. Really pissed of the rest of the owners at the time. USFL folded, Trump included and Walker went to NFL.

Perfect guy, successful hard working Black man that does not believe in the gimme attitude of BLM.

Regarding the efficacy of face masks – for what it’s worth (probably not much):

I have read so much conflicting info about face masks that it has left me very much a skeptic about their efficacy.

We keep several face masks hanging from key hooks near the front door. When I’m going out I usually grab one of these masks since I know it will be required wherever I’m headed, such as Stop and Shop or the Drug Store. Any mask I grab has been used over and over and I have even detected residual ‘mask breath.’ Yuck! I put it on at my destination but I often cheat by not covering my nostrils because, frankly, when I wear the thing properly I feel like I’m gonna suffercate.

In the midst of my mask dilemma the pro football season got started and I’ve watched several games. I wondered what precautions they would take. Some games have no fans in the seats while others have greatly reduced fan seating (15 – 20K) socially distanced. I forgot to look and see if these fans were wearing masks but I presume, yes.

The interesting part was the protocols along the sidelines among players and coaching staff. I would call the adherence to proper mask wearing at best perfunctory. Key amongst these ‘for show only’ wearers was Pete Carroll, the Seattle Seahocks head coach. It was on and off at least a hundred times during the game. If Carroll was heatedly yelling at an official he would rip the mask from his face so as not to impede his volume. This was exactly when the mask was most needed to thwart outbound water droplets.

If a youtube of this game exists, take a gander. Seattle played the NE Patriots. Google it.

Masks may only be effective against one form of transmission, but anything is better than nothing. No mitigation would be so disastrous in overwhelming the health care system.

Six hours after writing the above comment I saw on the evening news that Pete Carroll and two others were fined by the NFL for violations of their mask policies. Carroll’s fine was $100K. The other two coaches fines averaged $175K. The NFL is ‘playing hardball’ so to speak.

    Hey WWG1WGA,

What do ^these^ letters and number stand for?

The reason I ask is that they appear prominently in a picture on the first page of the business section of today’s NYT and then again even far more prominently on a page B5 pic where the article is continued.

The article’s title says “Facebook Tried to Limit QAnon. Its Crackdown Failed.” So, if I understand correctly, WWG1WGA and QAnon are associated in some way. QAnon is pro-Trump. The Times appears to categorize QAnon as “a hate group and conspiracy organization present on the social network.”

Your comments, please. Or anybody else’s.

    • sophia September 22, 2020 at 10:52 pm #

      Hey Q Schtick,

The phrase Where we go one we go all comes from an adventure movie of some sort, called White Squall. It’s a call to unity and purpose, I would say. The phrase is put forth on Q posts. Q posts began on the chans in October of 2017. There have been a few thousand. It is military intel, I believe. It is not a hate group whatsoever. You must never believe the NYT! At any rate, whatever the left says is pretty much always wrong by approximately 180 degrees. If it has to do with conspiracy, it is about the machinations of the deep state and it does name names. I suppose the conspiracy end of it might be that it includes a fair amount of anti-human trafficking data. The hate is pretty much entirely on the left, not the right.
In fact, one thing that has been said a few times by Q as regards the sleeping public is this: Until you wake up, we will fight for you.
My rough guess is that the Q community is about 30 million strong in this country, and also is worldwide. It is all about seeing through the deception of the mainstream narrative and the tremendous amount of hidden corruption.

“The former president invited Ghislaine Maxwell to a cozy dinner in L.A. in 2014, years after she had been accused by a victim of procuring girls for Epstein’s sex ring.”

“After a star-studded gala in February 2014, Bill Clinton and his entourage headed to a vegan restaurant in Los Angeles for an intimate dinner with friends.

Their destination was Crossroads Kitchen, a Melrose Avenue hotspot that counts Beyoncé, Christina Applegate and Katy Perry as fans, and features a menu with artichoke “oysters,” hearts of palm “crab cakes” and tagliatelle “bolognese.” That night, the restaurant was bustling. One insider spotted producer Jerry Bruckheimer and actor Bruce Willis, while TMZ recorded actor Sean Penn gliding through the front door.

Producer Steve Bing—Clinton’s friend, major Democratic donor and investor in the restaurant who died by suicide this year—was already there waiting for the former president.

Former Clinton staffers Ben Schwerin, a future Snapchat executive, and then-talent agent Michael Kives were also invited to the swanky soiree.

But two other unlikely guests joined the party that night: British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell—accused of procuring underage girls for sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein—and tech CEO Scott Borgerson, now rumored to be her husband…..

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/revealed-bill-clintons-intimate-secret-dinner-with-ghislaine-maxwell?ref=scroll

Note: In this article I was reminded of Steve Bing who earlier this year allegedly threw himself off of a building and fell to his death. I’m sorry, I meant to say he allegedly jumped off of a building and fell to his death. A few days ago I heard that, yes, he too has reported to have been a guest on Epstein’s pedo island and took the Lolita Express to get there.

I remember the day after Bing’s, ahem, suicide was reported his old pal Bill Clinton said something like, “Well he’s been suffering a long time, I’m glad that he’s at peace now”.

Ahhhh Willie that is sooooo sweet!

If I remember correctly Bing’s death occurred either right before or right after Ghislaine was arrested.

I guess you can tell that I’m not buying his death as a suicide. I’m surprised that not much was said about his “fall” off that building. Probably because outside of Hollywood most people just don’t know or care who he is and was. But he was a big time player in both Hollywood and Democrat Party fundraising.

The coffin lid will close and Barbara Lagoa seems a shoo-in for the Supreme Court justice vacancy nomination. A FL resident, Cuban-American, and appointee of Gov. Ron DUHSantis (one of Trump’s worst toads) to the FL state supreme court, her appointment before the election should sew up swing state FL quite nicely for the king.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, in the (not yet) frozen northland, my absentee ballot arrived in the mail today. Obediently filled it out as i was instructed to do. Made choices for all the local yokels (who will take on increasing importance in how things play out). as the Long Emergency progresses. The entire way there were Trump flags, Trump signs– a Trump store in Grand Rapids. Trump, Trump, Trump. No Biden signs to be seen, anywhere. There was one Biden sign outside a house near the campus of Bemidji State, but otherwise I didn’t see any Biden signs until I got back into Duluth. MIAMI – Surveillance video shows Joshua James King beating up Andrea Puerta while she was alone inside Miami’s Metromover, police said. She said she had never seen him before.

King, 25, punched Puerta, 29, more than 20 times during the Sept. 4 attack. He kicked, pushed, and slammed her headfirst. She suffered a concussion.

Puerta said she passed out during the beating, and she managed to walk out of the Metromover in a daze and called 911.

Court records show officers arrested him and a case was filed two days later. King is facing three counts of aggravated battery charges.

Officers said Puerta wasn’t King’s only victim. They are accusing him of attacking two other men in the Metromover that same day.

More than two weeks after the attack, Puerta still has a broken rib, a swollen jaw, a black eye and a bruised arm. She is worried King will strike again.

“I don’t know how I am alive,” Puerta said.

Records show King was released Sept. 10 on a $1,500 bond and he is set to appear in Miami-Dade County court on Sept. 25.

Yes, that one slipped my mind. Just a few days ago.

There really are so many of these black-on-white outrages, they happen literally daily, but so few of them, almost none, get national coverage.

        Education has been tried.

        Bribery has been tried.

Even Green Alba’s preferred option of Margaret Sangsterism has been tried (20 million so far and counting).

Excuse me, it’s Margaret Sanger, not Sangster.

          https://www.lifenews.com/2020/03/10/margaret-sanger-we-want-to-exterminate-the-negro-population-her-wish-is-coming-true-2/

Margaret Sanger, the founder of the nation’s leading abortion supplier, Planned Parenthood, once said: “We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the negro population.” Perhaps not coincidently, nearly 80 percent of Planned Parenthoods are located in black and Hispanic communities today.

In 2016, it was reported that African American women are 3.5 times more likely to have an abortion than white women. In Louisiana, the total number of abortions in 2018 was 8,097. Over half (4,958) were abortions of African American babies.

Of course, black women are more likely to get pregnant in the first place.

Why? 1. No planning skills. 2. Poor impulse control. 3. The attractions – such as they are – of government benefits to people who aspire to nothing better.

It doesn’t strike you as a bit funny that none of our resident Globalist Lefties can’t spare a single word in their defense ,

or for the Globalist Lefty Jeff Epstein either ?

Ah , because it is child molesters we are talking about ?

Never mind that the guys own evidence rather clearly demonstrates that these characters could care less about particular fetishes , or the birthday of a particular sex partner .

        Random observation here ;

Bat shit crazy atheist , and stone – cold – hearted bitch though she was , Ayn Rand said Hollywood was riven with Communists , and she was right.

And Ronald Reagan and John Wayne worked for them.

How about checking that one out ?

          @ KesaAnna

Not to be rude but – sincerely – I find your arguments hard to follow. I do not understand what you are arguing for or against. But I will have a try at responding:

It doesn’t strike you as a bit funny that none of our resident Globalist Lefties can’t spare a single word in their defense

Defend the Scouts and the Church? Why would the left defend them? The left wants the Scouts and the Church to be reviled on all sides. That is why they have penetrated them.

Whether it is better that the Scouts and Churches should disappear completely or continue to exist as demoralizing mockeries of what they once were is a matter of strategy, not ideology.

Ayn Rand said Hollywood was riven with Communists , and she was right.

Of course she was right. But lots of peope have made that observation and hearings, very famously, were held in that connection.

And Ronald Reagan and John Wayne worked for them.

Neither of these men appear in my shrine of heroes, but they were certainly not communists, nor globalists.

It certainly would have been better if they had come out as spokesmen for the John Birch Society, but we can’t have everything we want.

Coincidentally, JHK – if I remember reading him right – was once an anti-John Bircher. To many young people in the 1960s that group must have appeared to be hysterical, or worse, just old-fashioned. But how much of what they warned about a communist-globalist conspiracy has since come to pass? Almost all of it, I should say.

What is it with the “go to bed” thing you always bring up?

It is kind of weird. It makes me think that you very rarely get out of your pyjamas. Are you posting from a nursing home? How’s the jelly?

        I don’t recognize the guy,

But that’s standard operating procedure around here.

Addressing someone who is an adult as if they are 5 years old ,

and claiming the authority out of thin air to order someone about as if they were 5 years old.

And presumably that isn’t insulting the shit out of someone.

Worse , that isn’t an attempt to cut someone off at the very knees.

Hell , I was offended to the core , and the remark wasn’t even directed at me.

But that’s American culture today ; You got your choice between Nazis and Reds ,

and not one person in a hundred desires to let the adult next door determine their own damn bed time.

I will say one thing about Bill Clinton before I sign off…He looks buff. Vegetarian…no more Bubba burgers, for sure. Hillary must be drooling. Leave the poor bastard alone and enter the brave new world that lies ahead. I am sick and tired of having old stuff from the 20th century dug up and rehashed. Who gives a shit? Sam Donaldson in a Biden ad? I’m sure…he died when…1990? Not that Biden doesn’t deserve to be raked over the coals, but Jesus Christ…give us all a break and enter the 21st century people. Good night.

Oh wow they do actually reside in the same home together!? What a bizarre sentiment you have here, though your exhortation to enter that brave new world where our special Elites never answer for the things they have done actually grows louder and louder each day. They own most of the media of course. So if someone robbed a bank and shot someone dead on December 31, 1999 because they wanted to party like it was 1999 but the authorities just found out about it yesterday the authorities need to just throw up their hands and forget about cuz its just so 20th century?

I don’t think it’s right to disparage Ukraine. It’s becoming rather tiresome JHK uses Ukraine as a punching bag, time and again. Ukraine is under the thumb of the Russian mobsters and their Kremlin overlords. Not unlike the USA being under the thumb of the Deep State and complimentary racketeering.

Both countries have similar sociological strata; unemployment, lack of disposable income and where is my next meal coming from. the million Americans of Ukrainian descent today might tend to agree. It may be insightful to realize that most countries regard America as pityful nowadays. Next time in the East Village, visit the Ukrainian Museum; and learn about the most ancient civilization on Earth, the Aratta Culture, 40,000 BC located precisely within Ukraine today.

  74. abcdef September 23, 2020 at 12:57 am #

    Hi Mr. Kunstler,
When you make claims, it is usually considered good form to offer evidence. You have a lot of semi-connections that can be explained without regard to the fever swamp of right wing conspiracy theories you offer. Evidence for the panic? Sure, on the right, people say there is, but none is actually produced for this panic you speak of. So, let us see what these two committees come up with. I suspect it will be a lot less than what the impeachment process came up with. But that won’t matter! It is election time!

It amazes me that you talk about draining the swamp. You talk as if the Democrats have been in control for the last four years. I have to keep repeating this because what you argue for makes no sense given the fact that–apart for the last two years, when Democrats have taken the House of Representatives, the Republicans and Donald Trump have had control of all three of the branches of the government (currently 2 1/2!). And the majority of state legislatures and governorships. Republicans hold the political power in this country.

Can you explain why, if the swamp hasn’t already been drained, and the country is in turmoil, and there has been an incompetent response to the COVID crisis that we can clearly see given how other countries have done so much better than we have–how can this primarily be the Democrats’ responsibility? Why would you vote for the Republicans if they can’t turn the power they hold into action (even when they had it all) or worse–incompetent and damaging action? Why would you reward these incompetent people with more time in office when they have no idea what they are doing? I have no idea… tribalism, I am guessing. Is that it?

    • BackRowHeckler September 23, 2020 at 8:08 am #

Hey Cargiill, how about a comment on recent events in Melbourne, specifically, the two elderly ladies sitting on a park bench, surrounded by a squad of city police. Apparently they were resting after taking a walk in the park, but weren’t properly distancing, and had removed their masks, so the cops moved in, en masse.

      Brh

      • abcdef September 23, 2020 at 7:32 pm #

        Hi BackRowHeckler.
Who is Cargill? I guess he/she/it? was someone you don’t like.

But, I am going to go out on a limb here–you go with your non-response because you can’t actually engage with the observations I have made above. And I suspect that Mr. Kunstler wants zero to do with it as well. Because if you did engage, you would have to acknowledge that much of what is said here, including a lot of what Mr. Kunstler is saying is… well … detached from reality.

There can be all kinds of reasons for this, but as a thought experiment to you, imagine the reverse–Democrats are in this situation as the ruling political power, and they argue it is the mostly out of power Republicans who are to blame for this mess. You would be laughing your butt off at me for making this ludicrous suggestion.

So, is it tribalism, Brh? My side, right or wrong?

    • sophia September 23, 2020 at 2:12 pm #

      Cargill,

What was the incompetent response and what countries are doing better?

      • abcdef September 23, 2020 at 7:43 pm #

        Hi Sophia,
I am intrigue. Who or what is Cargill?

As for your comments–much of what I said to Brh above applies here as well, though you “nibble” at a little piece of the cheese, rather than take a big bite–must avoid the trap, or is that the hook?

As for your question–tell me, what criteria do you think are most important in deciding if America is doing better than many other countries? Are we most interested in snapshots or overall response over time? I will go with countries like us, say advanced industrialised nations. If you can help me out with criteria, that would be great. Otherwise, I can go with this as a start: https://www.factcheck.org/2020/08/trumps-misleading-covid-19-comparisons-to-other-countries/
Here is an interesting one about how people in different countries perceive their own countries response: https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2020/08/27/most-approve-of-national-response-to-covid-19-in-14-advanced-economies/
And don’t worry, given the lack of any internal coherence of US policy (and our lack of social solidarity), our numbers will be growing in the coming months.

        • Night Owl September 24, 2020 at 3:57 am #

I would say the problem is that the claims you made are not supported by any concrete evidence. A common problem with prog. tin-foilers.

The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. So go back to your first post, and provide multiple examples of hard, verifiable evidence for each of your claims.

Once you have done so, I am sure someone would be more than happy to discuss the situation with you.

If you are not able to back your claims sufficiently, then your fate has been sealed.

          The floor is yours.

        • sophia September 24, 2020 at 10:53 am #

          abcdef,

I would say that deaths are the main criterion. I don’t care what some biased article or poll says about people’s opinions. What I care about is that the countries of the world are going on with catastrophic lockdowns and are not listening to the various highly qualified people who weigh in. Those are being ignored.

          Lockdown kills.

I know that those on the leftward end of things are in a very authoritarian mood and after accusing Trump of being a Hitler are now very annoyed that he is not acting as national dictator. But he did the right thing and recognized state’s rights and let the governors and mayors make decisions for their areas, which do differ greatly from places like New York. Speaking of New York, you must be very upset with its governor, as their death toll is the highest. He is also one of 5 governors who appear to have deliberately killed people and may be wanted for murder.

Death rates in the US are on par with other European countries.

Trump initiated lockdown at the same time as other countries, and he blocked flights from China early. Took flak for it. Meanwhile, people like Pelosi mocked covid fear and had films of herself hanging around in Chinatown. So what is your criticism of her?

Then of course the WHO and perhaps CDC early in the epidemic said it did not have human transmission, even though China was already tying down Wutan. What is your criticism of the WHO? Do you think it is reasonable to expect the WHO to know more than our president?

” Huh? Maybe you should change your handle to Rip Van Winkel.

These two organizations have been wormholed by globalist and pedophiles for, respectively, at least 30 and 60 years. They are not only not jingoists, they aren’t even patriots. ”

    Well , my understanding of Catholic history is that their policy USED TO BE ;

” Our authority is superior to your authority. So fuck off. You are merely a government , the folks who make license plates , the folks who just fucking yesterday got your act together enough to start delivering the fucking mail.

At best you are concerned with the here and now , like a dog , like a cow .

We are concerned with a persons future. ”

That , as I understand it , USED TO BE Catholic policy.

So it turns out that the 1920’s KKK was right ; the Catholic Church was basically un – American.

Or , maybe worse , merely condescending and dismissive ?

Lol , your United States is about as significant as the Principality of Anhalt – Zerbst !

I can see where a Statist Imperialist American would get their panties in a twist over that.

And , whatever they call themselves , have more in common with the East German Reds than this East German ever did.

    But today ?

Never mind hypotheticals. I regularly attend Mass , and give more than a tenth.

I don’t fucking think , I know , that their policy now is to bend over and take up the ass whatever outrageous demand the U.S. government makes.

And never mind that yesterday they made an outrageous demand , and made an outrageous demand last week , and the week before !

I once worked as a prostitute , and I’m disgusted at what they will lay down for , and sell themselves so cheaply for.

    Patriotism ?

Near as I can tell an American patriot is someone who holds their next door neighbor in complete and utter contempt , and absolutely hates North America. If they had the jack , they would most likely be living in Monaco instead.

As for the Boy Scouts , they are a fucking dream compared to the Girl Scouts.

Skirts aren’t even a uniform option in the Girl Scouts any more.

Shit , if you are going to grow a dick anyway , you might as well disband !

If the church is doing the precise bidding of the state then the church is itself an extension of the state at this point no? If so then tithing is akin to, yea, the same as paying off the tax collector. Your giving life to Caesar in other words. And Jesus did say to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s. So the state or a state is an unavoidable expression of human existence. Which circles back to the Nazis versus Reds dilemma. Who is your daddy? God warned the people that choosing a king was in fact a rejection of Him. But the people made their choice for a king then. And so also you will choose now. But realistically. Does a real true theocracy exist anywhere right now?

      • KesaAnna September 23, 2020 at 5:07 am #

At best you are concerned with the here and now , like a dog , like a cow .

We are concerned with a persons future. ”

        A persons future —

Like when you merely have the bad luck to meet a serial killer or a police officer in a dark alley one night.

After that , there isn’t a court anywhere on this fucking planet that can give you justice.

Not , truth be told , that they gave a genuine fuck when you were breathing for that matter.

^ THAT is why I converted to Christianity , and to Catholicism specifically.

If I am un- orthodox , it is in this matter of to choose now.

I’m concerned about tomorrow , not about the today , where I made ” choices ” with a knife at my throat , anyway.

Except that I have my suspicions that my view was NOT always un – orthodox.

” Jesus did say to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar’s. ”

One of my minor hobbies is an interest in 1st Century Roman coinage , among other aspects of ancient Rome in general.

        Among other aspects —

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8hqR2O8HiM

Watch the above video , or an equivalent one if you will.

Notice that at least one third of the edifices in the very beating heart of Rome aren’t secular edifices at all , but religious edifices.

Even the Circus Maximus , a race track basically , has a temple.

Rome was , arguably , a kind of theocracy itself.

Now recall when Jesus Christ beat the money changers out of the temple ?

Wait a fucking minute , why the hell was there a currency exchange in the temple ?

Does the temple not strike you as a rather odd location for a currency exchange ?

As you no doubt are aware , the 1st century Jweish temple was a place of animal sacrifice.

The poor had birds sacrificed in their behalf , the somewhat more well – to – do had sheep sacrificed in their behalf , and the rich had cattle sacrificed in their behalf.

        These animals were purchased.

The currencies in common usage in 1st Century Palestine , however , Roman coinage chief among them , were replete with imagery that was flatly blasphemous.

Imagine , hypothetically , dropping a coin into the collection plate on which is depicted a God with breasts and hips , and a penis and testicles.

Except that is not hypothetical , such coins existed. Hermaphroditic Gods were a staple of ancient Mediterranean paganism.

Maybe that hypothetical isn’t direct and clear – cut enough ?

Imagine dropping a coin into the collection plate on which is written , ” Fuck Jesus ! ” .

        See a problem ?

THAT is why there was a currency exchange in the temple.

As regards 1st Century Roman Coinage specifically , it was not only replete with pagan imagery , unlike their public buildings , 90% of it was explicitly religious in nature.

And that would include the image of Caesar too.

Caesar was not , strictly speaking , or per se , worshiped as a god.

Strictly speaking , the genus , or , ” divine spark ” , within the emperor , or represented by the emperor , was worshiped as a divinity.

Do you appreciate that fine distinction ?

        Perhaps so.

But we might wonder if an illiterate Roman soldier , or a dense Neapolitan ditch – digger , appreciated such a fine distinction ?

Anyway , the image of Caesar was itself a religious symbol.

Discarding for a moment the idea that Christ was a divinity with inside knowledge ,

we know that Christ’s home town was within reasonable walking distance of a major Palestinian Roman Colony.

The demand for carpenters in the one – horse town of Nazareth probably wasn’t very high , but probably was in that Roman colony I just mentioned.

And we know that Christ could read , because at least one passage of scripture has him reading scripture himself.

So , while he was not himself a Roman , it’s a pretty good bet that he had at least a passing familiarity with all this Roman pagan stuff I just went over.

That is , he knew as well as I do what the images on Roman coins represented.

Given all of that , my interpretation of the whole , ” render unto Caesar ” bit is that at best what he is saying is mockingly dismissive , at worst , blatantly seditious.

( At least , ” seditious ” if you consider the Roman occupation of Judea to be legitimate and basically peachy – keen , A – OK. )

Near as I can tell — note I am not an expert on this particular page of history —

        — Once upon a time this , ” render unto Caesar ” bit was not routinely or commonly invoked , because the case is so weak.

Rather , the collaboration of the Church with the state was primarily excused on the grounds of Paul’s , ” The powers that be are ordained by God. ”

” The powers that be … ” in Paul’s time would have included , for example , slave – owning Romans with , commonly , 14 year old slave mistresses , for example.

Paul didn’t have a problem with such regimes.

Son of a priestly Jewish family though he was , he was also a Roman citizen himself , after all.

But then , none but a few really very weird people had any problem with such regimes for the next thousand years ,

until people like Thomas Jefferson , and Robespierre , Adolf Hitler and Vladimir Lenin came along , claiming the previous 500 generations were full of shit , and they knew better. 😀

Seattle apparently is going ahead with its ‘Defund the Police’ program, at least partially. What to replace it with? Well, the City has hired a Street Czar, a former pimp, who was convicted of luring white suburban teenage girls into Seattle, impregnating them, then forcing the girls into the work. The new ‘Street Czar’ says that was all part of a past life, no longer relevant. The job pays $150 thousand per year, with full benefits.

They should see if Son of Sam is available. He might be able to advise women on personal safety in urban environments.

Although New York State has a Son of Sam law that forbids criminals from profiting from their notoriety and criminal activties.

Anyway, this is all remarkably stupid and insane. I have a theory that a lot of these people on the Left, the politicians and theorists, have antisocial personality disorders such as narcissism and sociopathy while the idiots in the streets have some kind of ODD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and this case is just an expression of their hatred for and resentment of the normal people who feed and care for them and keep the air-con running.

In other words, this is the infantile the Left hacking up a huge golly and spitting it straight into the faces of the people who hold civilization together.

An open discussion on corona measures means that, in addition to the years of life gained by corona patients, we must also take into account other factors affecting the health of the entire population. These include damage in the psychosocial domain (increase in depression, anxiety, suicides, intra-family violence and child abuse)16 and economic damage.

If we take this collateral damage into account, the current policy is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

We find it shocking that the government is invoking health as a reason for the emergency law.

As doctors and health professionals, in the face of a virus which, in terms of its harmfulness, mortality and transmissibility, approaches the seasonal influenza, we can only reject these extremely disproportionate measures.

    – We therefore demand an immediate end to all measures.

    – We are questioning the legitimacy of the current advisory experts, who meet behind closed doors.

    – Following on from ACU 2020 https://acu2020.org/nederlandse-versie/ we call for an in-depth examination of the role of the WHO and the possible influence of conflicts of interest in this organisation. It was also at the heart of the fight against the “infodemic”, i.e. the systematic censorship of all dissenting opinions in the media. This is unacceptable for a democratic state governed by the rule of law.

“Oral masks in healthy individuals are ineffective against the spread of viral infections.

Wearing a mask is not without side effects. Oxygen deficiency (headache, nausea, fatigue, loss of concentration) occurs fairly quickly, an effect similar to altitude sickness. Every day we now see patients complaining of headaches, sinus problems, respiratory problems and hyperventilation due to wearing masks. In addition, the accumulated CO2 leads to a toxic acidification of the organism which affects our immunity. Some experts even warn of an increased transmission of the virus in case of inappropriate use of the mask.”

More medical professionals state the obvious. New Normal scientists are no doubt preparing an even sciencier response!

      LOL.

I am surrounding my interns, residents, fellows, attending’s, it is a teaching hospital, major research center as well. They show me the xrays, I know folks who have it, our Infectious disease teams give us in-services, so if it is fake, please tell us what the heck it is. I agree that the government response, Big D, and Big Andy have failed us, and the media made it 100x worse. I will be doing Halloween this year. The Dredd blog has detailed articles on, how, why what viruses and bacteria are. Happy Halloween, trick or treat.

I believe the Street Czar’s name is Andre Taylor, but his street name is Gorgeous Dre. He already has some notoriety, having a prominent role in CHOP last summer, and appearing in the documentary ‘American Pimp’ a few years back. It wasn’t clear what street gang he is affiliated with, but rest assured, as police withdraw, street gangs will step up to provide security, muscle and order — for a price!

State Media has been dwelling on the 200K death mark of the kungflu & the death of Ginsberg.
Of course, there is zero insight into either event. The general public isn’t informed about who is largely affected by the disease. According to the Mayo website: “The risk of developing dangerous symptoms increases with age, with those who are age 85 and older at the highest risk of serious symptoms. In the U.S., about 80% of deaths from the disease have been in people age 65 and older. Risks are even higher for older people when they have underlying health conditions” (published Aug.21st).
So, based on this everything must stop. Most businesses, many schools remain closed or curtailed. It seems to me that a much more stringent and targeted quarantine of nursing homes, would be effective.

State Media neither explores what Ginsberg ruled on or for. Can anybody name one case she was a part of ruling on? Of course not. That’s not the point. She is just another prop for left wing identarians.

    • Rupert September 23, 2020 at 4:07 pm #

State media chided Trump for saying that the young are largely safe from it being deadly, which is true. Unless you’re already very unhealthy the at risk groups are the remaining Silents and the older Boomers, like any other flu type respiratory condition.

When it was a new and unknown thing I was alright with caution to an extent, but knowing what we know now the ‘cure’ seems worse than the disease. All the masks must surely be rather confusing to small children and the economic damage…

Heck, how many people are going to suffer or die from outpatient procedures and other checks having been postponed due to all of this? We can’t know.

The cure seems worse than the disease.

        Rupert,

Deaths in all lockdown countries went up instantly as soon as lockdown was implemented. Heart attacks, for just one example, went down at hospitals by 40%. This is because people are often unsure if they are having one or not, and if they were made too afraid to come in, they had their heart attacks at home.

The collateral damage from lockdown is tremendous and varied, but affects all ages. It affects the elderly too. Just to protect the elderly, we made them die alone, and be put into quarantines that they could not understand, which must have been an emotional nightmare.

    Pete

Just a comment on your post.

This morning it was announced that hospitalizations are down 54%. That means that catching it earlier and better early treatments are stopping the disease impact. Good.

Work, schools, movies, meetings should continue to be mitigated. Separation is no.1, staying out of the spray of infected people is a good thing. We are probably at the point where masks are questionable. I would wear one because it is just a good stopper for spray. Others may not feel that way. Voluntary?

This disease will not go away until both droplets and aerosols with viral content are gone. Long term plans should include HVAC improvements, spacing changes, and enforcement of distancing especially indoors. Outdoors not so much. Another idea is that UV light may deteriorate this virus, ie outdoors. Maybe indoor air sanitizing with UV would be a good thing.

Right now, new cases are slightly going up in some states. Most states are holding steady, some at high rates. A few are declining. We need to find out the source of the remaining steady state rate and fixit.

My guess is we have pretty much clobbered the droplet situation with mitigation and the remainder is aerosol.

OK, regarding masks, riddle me this:

As I pointed out yesterday there were some NFL coaches fined after Sunday’s and Monday’s games for failure to follow mask wearing protocols. As of yesterday the fines totaled up to $1.7 million. Among the several coaches fined was Jon Gruden who is in his first season as head coach of the Raiders.

For the anti-sport, anti-pro football cohort among the commenters here, Gruden has a long and varied career in the sport the highpoint of which was winning the Super Bowl in 2003 with the Tampa Bay Bucs.

He had (and still has) a boyish face but always seems a bit demented. Some broadcaster called him the angry baby or Chucky, after a devilish homicidal doll in some movie. But I digress.

Sooo, earlier this summer Gruden became infected with the C-virus. In due time he recovered from it. Presumably he is now immune to Covid and won’t catch it a second time. He now stalks the sidelines for the Raiders with his perpetual look of utter exasperation. He rips his mask off to yell at a player or an official and then jams it angrily back in place.

In the second wave of coach fines he was called out and fined $100K. His team was fined an additional $250K for “failure to wear the mask properly.” Gruden pointed out that he would pay the fine but noted that he had already contracted the virus.

So, here’s my question: When Gruden wears the mask when he has already attained immunity isn’t this, in reality, virtue signaling? What little mitigation of the disease the masks provide is unnecessary in his case. But what about the protection of others argument? Is there any transmission of Covid possible due to flying spittle etc. from someone who has attained immunity?

Assuming Gruden can neither catch the disease again nor transmit the disease, how fair is it that he and his team should be heavily fined? Consider also that all players and team staff are tested weekly for the virus and each week about a half dozen test positive. But so far they all have recovered. Now they are back on the field or on the sidelines where they must wear a mask. Aren’t they just like Gruden? Can neither get nor transmit the disease? How long must these people continue to virtue signal?

The information that I get at work, is that like the annual flu vaccine, they think, more studies are needed, but so far it shows in some folks immunity lasts only months., but I suggest reading the Dredd blog, he or she has detailed in-depth studies of various virus, bacteria articles. • JohnAZ September 23, 2020 at 5:09 pm #

The problem with this damn virus is how easily it infects and how many places it can go to inside the body. The flu stays mainly with the respiratory and muscles, Covid attacks all over the place. My belief is that is why the body overreacts and cytokine storms start.

Your points. Gruden May have had a mild case of it and never reacted. If he had a positive antibody test, good. But as mentioned, even then it may only last for a while.

The entire NFL if it was tested last week for the crud means nothing. For example, if the teams were tested last Friday, by now, the tests are worthless. Why? Because incubation is 4 – 6 days, if they were infected on Saturday, it will be hitting them now. If you kept everyone in airborne isolation, impossible to do, it would hold them from exposure. Otherwise, testing every 4 x 6 days is required. Masks are mitigation, trying to stop the 6 positives from spreading. Remember the stories of one person infecting 50. Ro is 2-3 for Covid.

Remember the stories of the Hawaiians and the Aztecs. Measles and Smallpox respectively were viruses with big Ro numbers, like 5 – 6. They wiped out the majority of both groups of people.

          • Q. Shtik September 23, 2020 at 5:39 pm #

            =========

If I interpret your comment correctly it sounds like you are saying Gruden did NOT NECESSARILY attain immunity or if he did maybe it doesn’t last very long and therefore the NFL was right to fine him and his team for “failure to wear the mask properly.”

If this is true it sounds like people will be wearing masks forever.

          • JohnAZ September 23, 2020 at 6:21 pm #

That is what the latest studies say.

Use the flu as an example, a seasonal virus that either we lose immunity or it morphs into a new variety, that is why you get a flu shot every year and not just once. Covid May be the same, remember that a lot of cold viruses are coronaviruses.

The Ro number also gives the percentage for herd immunity and Covid 19 is 85%. About 10% of population has gotten the crud, I think this is low as I think many more folks are symptomatic, have gotten it. But the thing is many more folks have not had it and are fresh meat.

Mitigation will lessen the rate of folks getting the crud until a vaccine that will shoot us up to that 85% number is in place. Once 85% is attained, masks come off and things go back to normal. Unless it is seasonal, we do not know this yet. Numbers I have seen have indicated one to two shots per year to keep it at bay. Sorta like the senior dose of flu vaccine that I got today, more potent.

BTW, if one is interested in keeping long telomeres, avoiding any viral attack is a good thing. I plan on respecting social distancing and masking in confinement probably forever and not just for Covid. Can you imagine a life without viruses so much?

Also, BTW, the real solution is not vaccines, it is finding out how to kill the virus in vitro. Vaccines do not always work, and are seasonal at times.

          • sophia September 24, 2020 at 11:04 am #

Or, alternatively, we could regain our sanity and stop paying undue attention to what is mostly a mild illness.

The 6 positives mean NOTHING unless they become ill.

The 3 officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor have have been adjudicated by a grand jury in Kentucky. No murder charges were found appropriate in the case. One officer has been charged with wanton endangerment by area firing his weapon towards an adjacent apartment where a family were residing.

The Kentucky AG did a good job breaking down the facts of the case.

Yet again, this is another case of State Media under reporting or not reporting the facts of this shooting. A black woman died, so there must be violent outbursts at “injustice”. In reality, her boyfriend was wanted on a warrant. The warrant, backed up by an independent witness, was not a ‘no knock’ warrant. The police were fired upon when they entered the apartment, and fired back. Taylor was standing next to the shooter and was hit.

    • thwack September 23, 2020 at 5:17 pm #

“In reality, her boyfriend was wanted on a warrant.”

      *************

      Incorrect.

It was the EX boyfriend that had the warrant. He was the drug dealer with an extensive criminal record…

Breanna Taylor’s only crime was wanting to GET and KEEP a man. She probably put up with the thug boyfriend as long as she could; and then dumped him for the boyfriend she had the night she was killed.

I suspect she told the new boyfriend that her ex was a violent drug dealer… and so the night the police busted in, I suspect the boyfriend thought it was her ex, and thats why he started blasting with his LEGAL firearm.

There is a very disturbing underlying theme to the Taylor shooting, the Blake shooting, and to some extent, the death of Floyd. The hidden theme is this: the black population in the US has a disproportionate number of criminals. In reaction to this, the US ought to be applying a separate set of norms & laws towards this population. The 12% of the population which identifies as black ought to be allowed to commit crime.

If the nation does not allow this, then leftists will use it as cover to attack courts, police departments, businesses, and neighborhoods where non-blacks reside.

13 do 50 doesn’t even require outlandish laws though, just rules against theft, rape, murder and the like.

It’s a stat that also holds up across societies, even those without a history of racial slavery. The peoples of sub-Saharan Africa commit actions we consider felonious at rates multiples of any other people on this Earth. I assume once China starts actually tabulating such things within their new African economic colonies, they will find the same stat even in their homeland.

Thwack. This is dishonest. Should murder be illegal? How about robbing stores? Blacks have much higher rates of violent crime and I don’t know if they have higher rates of resisting arrest, but nearly all the cases we hear about come from this.

Maybe you really are white. Because this sort of disdain for the black race comes mostly from privileged whites. They secretly don’t think highly of blacks and think they should not be held to the same standard.

And your stupid remark about making enough things illegal is another giveaway. Because whether or not you agree with all the laws, such as marijuana use, those laws apply equally to blacks and whites.

A word about yard signs and phone polls. With two candidates this election so dysfunctional, counting yard signs and believing phone polls mean next to nothing. Posters to this site have noted a preponderance of Trump yard signs vs. Biden. If you were voting to maintain a broken and corrupt system by electing a puppet, would you be proud to put a Biden sign in your yard? Trump voters are proud of their guy. He tells them what they want to hear, even if it flies in the face of reality. Let’s do something, even if it’s wrong. Take credit for everything that works in your favor, even if you had nothing to do with its success. He’s got the Antochrist role down to a (pardon me) science. Reason to vote for Biden? Up to you, CFN. David Stockman as a write-in. I’ve already voted.

As for phone polls, many seem to show Biden w/ a lead. Bull. Some Trump supporters tell the pollsters they’d vote for Biden because it gives them an easy chance to lie and get away with it, just like their king. Allows them to jew the (corrupt) system, which they abhor, and rightfully so. Cognitive dissonance (whatever the hell that means) aside, the ends justify the means on BOTH sides these days. It’s sick.

I may be naive (maybe that’s why I’m posting from the asylum), but I believe life is a circle with the far right and far left just a step apart, holding hands.

The Knight of Progressivism on the Supreme Court, has died. With it, maybe many decades of left leaning rulings. The democrats, at best, appear to go on to the new year with more divided government. They will be unable to dominate Congress, have lost the Supreme Court, and appear to be in the process of losing the Presidential election.

Joe Biden’s voters will be active in Louisville, KY tonight. This is democrat party, in defeat. And in almost total defeat today.

The democrat party has been unable to address the key problems & challenges within its own strongest constituency– black America. The democrats decided to “own” it, and ‘it’ (black America) remains very debilitated. Why is that?

Because at the root, the democrats only use blacks as pawns. The billionaire donor class behind the democrats, and the multinational corporate world view in which they operate in– has zero interest in black communities whatsoever, beyond props & cover– as an indentured government subsidized electoral base. That’s the real use of black America to the DNC & their ultra rich donors.

In this regard, Malcolm X was totally correct: “The worst enemy that the Negro have is this white man that runs around here drooling at the mouth professing to love Negros, and calling himself a liberal, and it is following these white liberals that has perpetuated problems that Negros have. If the Negro wasn’t taken, tricked, or deceived by the white liberal then Negros would get together and solve our own problems.”

      Yup!

Rich elitist Liberals buying votes from foolish people not realizing how they have been had.

As long as Blacks act like they are pro’ widdle Black boys and just try to milk the system through the Democrats, they will stay right where they are.

The Dems are counting on your stupidity.

If it is any consolation , I couldn’t resist the temptation to drag myself back here to see , specifically, whatever

You and Night Owl might have posted.

One primary reason I like reading you is because you can talk that right – wing trash * all day long ,

but no one could ever , in honesty at least , identify you as anything other than a restrained moderate.

    ( * Not literally , ” trash ” . )

I suppose I should mention Pucker . He should gather together all his observations , never mind putting them in any kind of order , they stand fine as is , into a book. Or maybe that would be several books.

I don’t know what to make of his taciturnity , but that is , I suppose , part of what makes Pucker charming.

As a bonus , Thwack put in an appearance again .

And Q Shtik has actually written some stuff worth reading.

” I was afraid Jim banned her. ”

    Hey , I’m puzzled.

    But then pessimism actually has its perks ;

You are rarely disappointed , because you never expected much to begin with.

Which , counter – intuitively , means that you are occasionally , or even often , pleasantly surprised.

    DEATH BY LIZARD
Ronald Huff who was eaten by his pet monitor lizards ‘was killed by the 6ft creatures when a BITE became infected’
Man had his face, hands, and stomach organs devoured by seven 6ft-long Nile monitor lizards he let roam free in his flat.

The Sun (UK) – A man eaten by his pet monitor lizards was also KILLED by the creatures because he succumbed to a blood infection caused by their bites, it is claimed.

Ronald Huff, 42, had his face, hands and stomach organs devoured by seven 6ft-long Nile monitor lizards he let roam free in his flat.

The huge reptiles – flesh-eating, venomous and endemic to Africa – were found by cops covered in their owner’s blood and were hissing aggressively at the officers.

To date Ronald’s 2002 death remains one of the most terrifying and bizarre instances of a human being eaten by their pets.

Neighbour Jeff Wildonger, now aged 38, told The Sun Online: “If he didn’t have those lizards there he’d be alive today, there’s no doubt.”

Ronald’s body was found by cops propped up against the front door of the apartment with the enormous lizards feasting on his corpse.

It later emerged the lizards had been allowed to roam freely throughout his home.

No thanks I will stick with my furry loveable 100 pound Akita!
I did once own a good sized Bearded Dragon who was a great pet he even liked to cuddle a little.

      Death by Rooster????

An elderly woman from South Australia has died after being pecked at by her “aggressive” rooster while collecting eggs from the chicken coop in her garden.

The rooster reportedly punctured a varicose vein with its beak, causing it to bleed profusely.

Adelaide University Professor Roger Byard has examined the case to help prevent similar deaths. He says:

“I’m trying to get elderly people who have varicose veins treated with a simple operation because they are especially vulnerable to being broken.”

Varicose veins are enlarged veins that commonly protrude from the skin’s surface.

Byard said another local woman died in similar circumstances when a cat scratched her leg:

“Many of the examples we have found of animals causing death are a warning for elderly people. For example, cats are a very common tripping hazard for the elderly. We have done studies that show people have just been around their homes and bled to death by knocking their leg and vein on something.”

The incident comes after a breeder was fatally attacked by a cassowary on a Florida farm earlier this year

Forget the Rona killing you look out for Sylvestor and Foghorn leghorn!

I was bitten on the ankle by a drake last week. This drake gets very angry when I feed the goats. It is funny because he behaves in such an infuriated manner, hissing and huffing and wagging his tail feathers. He is just like Daffy Duck.

And cats and tripping…that’s deliberate on their part. I am sure that in their imaginations the are bringing down gazelles.

But your point is taken, the elderly have a very tenuous hold on life. Even a bad flu can snatch them away.

Some breeds of Chicken Rooster will fight , fight , fight themselves to death.

Indeed , something of a contradiction , at least in this case , to the whole , ” Survival of the fittest ” idea .

The rooster that in due time winds up ruling the roost is the one which , I suppose , had a tad too much estrogen , because the more manly roosters conveniently fought themselves to death.

Anyway , some breeds of rooster are quite decidedly chill.

I once made the mistake of ordering strait – run chickens because it is cheaper , and of course , even though ” strait – run ” means they randomly grab chicks without bothering to check their sex ,

I wound up with 18 roosters.

They were Silver Grey Dorkings though.

I could sashay into their pen bare – footed and in nothing but a thin chemise , roosters above me , and all around me , and never got so much as a scratch , or a dirty look.

Silver Grey Dorkings were as jovial and sedentary as their appearance.

        • KesaAnna September 23, 2020 at 9:38 pm #

Stepping into a chicken pen bare – footed is no short – cut though.

You will have to wash your feet afterwards.

So you might as well have put on shoes to begin with.

But then you have to clean your shoes too….

          Eh , fuck it.

That’s one reason I don’t wanna live in a city , or even a suburb.

Neighbors who want to get their panties in a twist over a trivial thing like my feet.

          • KesaAnna September 24, 2020 at 12:53 am #

” did you eat them? give some away? ”

I managed over time to give some away . Incredible , because who wants more than one rooster , or even any roosters ?

Luckily , as with dogs , shit just seems to happen to chickens , even circumspect , pacifistic chickens. So some were victims of misadventure.

It seems like every creature on the planet likes to eat chicken except me.

Also , luckily , chickens don’t live forever. I suppose a ten year old chicken would be the equivalent of someone who lived into their 90’s . ( ? )

            Like I said , I don’t like chicken , but I do love eggs.

If I did like Chicken , though , that would be beside the point anyway .

Now I’m not going to try and paint myself as anything other than as cold – hearted as a Rattlesnake .

But , no exaggeration , I can’t bring myself to kill cockroaches .

I guess that’s one reason I like eggs.

The chickens were able to free – range somewhat , so luckily feeding even 18 roosters wasn’t prohibitively expensive.

And , like I said , they were a jovial and pacifistic breed.

Had several roosters over time only had one that was ever nasty but in the end he was only protecting his hens.
He would charge up and kick so I kicked him back.
He did this a couple of times but got booted like a soccer ball and he eventually learned who was boss.
I then resorted to chasing him around and catching him and after awhile he even quit running.

The part about bare foot in chicken pens yep been there not sure what was worse a cold squishy one or a fresh hot one between the toes.

I took to raking out the coop a couple of times a week.
Chicken poop when left to age made great fertilizer.
Use it to soon and it would burn the plants.

Best way I can put it ; chickens have sex while fully clothed.

” If we take this collateral damage into account, the current policy is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ”

    — could just as well be my mantra.

    Like ;

” If we take this collateral damage into account, the war on drugs is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ”

    or ,

” If we take this collateral damage into account, ” Serial killers are stacked ten deep on the sidewalks ” , is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ”

    or ,

” If we take this collateral damage into account, ” There’s a child molester behind every tree ” , is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ”

    or ,

” If we take this collateral damage into account, the war on terror is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ”

    or ,

” If we take this collateral damage into account, the war on Japan is out of all proportion, the proverbial use of a sledgehammer to crack a nut. ”

( And history has subsequently shown that the United States cannot adequately project military power into East Asia anyway , and doesn’t give a fuck about Laos or Manchuria anyway.

Of course I guess I must plead guilty to racism , because I have always thought a strong Japan was the lesser of two evils versus a strong China.

And , by the way , apparently at the end of his life , if not earlier , Douglas MacArthur arrived at the same assessment. )

    And —

I could go on in the same vein , page after page , after page.

” I do not understand what you are arguing for or against. ”

      https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/anarchist-agent-holly-zoller-behind-u-haul-brought-to-louisville-riot/

This link provides a nice picture of Holly Zoller, who is the front person for Soros on his bail project in Kentucky where Holly bills herself as a “Bail Disruptor”.

She is also a board member of Louisville Books to Prisoners – which I am sure beats any dating site you have ever joined – and she is the founder of Louisville Food Not Bombs.

There are various inferences to draw and comments to make wrt Holly’s appearance and activities. Most it comes back to her displaying all of the signs of desperate-fat-white-girl-who-appreciates-any-attention-even-from-negro-felons syndrome.

The picture shows Holly with her nicest haircut, freshly bleached – bcs (smacking lips) negroes like dem blondes – dressed all in black (black is slimming) and at least 50 pounds overweight. In the way of things, this is probably a very old picture and Holly is currently probably 100 lbs overweight. But dat booty!

The page tells us that the poor girl’s Food Not Bombs provides “fresh and stable food to the center of Loisville’s food desert.”

Well, let’s put aside that she appears to be eating too much of the food she is providing and ask the interesting questions, what is a “food desert” and why do such socio-geographia exist?

The idea of the food desert received its first nationwide publicity when it was bruited about by Mike Obama. For some reason, Mike asserted, it was not possible to buy fresh, healthy food in places near where blacks congregated. These places President Obama’s husband referred to as “food deserts” where residents could apparently for neither love nor money purchase anything but grape drank, doctor pepper, Kools, Lotto tickets, crack, crack hoes, and snack foods when what they in fact desired to purchase was arugula, fresh basil, sub 2% acidity extra virgin olive oils, and well-marbled aged steaks.

But with such a healthy demand for healthy foods from such healthy communities, why were these communities not being served?

Where was Whole Foods? Where were the mom and pop grocery stores and specialty wine shops? And for those evenings when Laquisha felt like a night off from basting and stewing and baking and making sauces and desserts and laying out delicious meals for the whole family, how could she for the night put aside that apron when the hood had such a shameful dearth of those little bistros that don’t just serve delicious meals but advertise the character of a locale and add so much to its sense of community?

What the hell had brought negroworld to such a sorrowful pass?

Or to put it more succinctly, “Damn them goddammit white folks!” Damn them bcs they’d gone and tricked the poor negro again. Somehow, when the communities were being handed out, whitey took all the good neighborhoods and left the poor negroes with the goddamn food deserts!

      Sheeeeeeeit!

Of course that’s one account of the matter. According to hateful cracker-logic, however, when the local community regards local shops as little more than public ATMs where the only password is “Hands up!” and even the Koreans won’t start a business in the area and where efforts to deter endemic shoplifting and public urination and drug use are condemned by community leaders as racist – and when that word is yelled then every business in town must be burnt down and looted – then it tends to discourage businesses, especially those with genteel clientele or small operating margins.

On the positive side, these types of areas explode with certain service businesses such as short time hotels, porn shops, payday loan and check cashing businesses, parole offices, needle exchanges and VD clinics and…I almost forgot, social justice shop fronts established with the backing of George Soros.

Soros’ business is despair and disharmony, you see, and for George, business is booming.

Worse when the mob pulled reginal Denny out of his truck and gave him a life changing thrashing truckers refused to deliver into the area for years.

  100. thwack September 24, 2020 at 7:54 am #

One good thing about the Black Lives Matter movement is that it is causing more people to observe, study and ask questions about how police departments work; and also fundamental questions about the concept of justice.

For example, in the Breanna Taylor case, the ex boyfriend arrested for drug charges, was offered a plea bargain (back door channel thru his lawyer) to implicate her as his accomplice (he refused their attempt to frame a dead woman that they killed)

What a piece of shit move. The woman is dead, and you killed her; and now you are basically bribing another person to try to make her responsible for her own death.

Ok, ok… is that how it works?

Well then the cops need to remember that when EVERYONE plays that game, nobody can win because EMTs have “discretion” too; and when you get shot, guess who has to come and save you?

Thats rights, a mother fucking EMT, just like Breanna Taylor.

    You get the picture?

    Well then please allow me to retort;

the use of violence by one person against another for unjust reasons or objectives must result in waste for both rather than profit for either.

      @ thwack

It took me a couple of re-reads to parse your comment’s closing mumbled attempt at profundity, and once I had done that, it took me a moment more to process the stupidity and/or naivety of your statement.

To sum up, your claim is that no one can profit from unjust violence.

That’s just plain stupid. There are lots of scammers who are making great careers out of the violence of useful idiots like you and those uncaged animals you currently support.

As to violence itself, among blacks violence and crime and dysfunction are simply endemic. From Congo to Philadelphia to Washington and anywhere else blacks can be found it is an historic cultural problem. There is nothing whitey can or even should try to do about it except make sure it doesn’t keep spilling over onto white people.

You people think you have so much going for you and all of your problems come from whitey not providing enough gibs?

Then the clear answer is to separate from whitey!

You people can go back to being kangz or rebuild Wakanda (wasn’t financial Hollywood laughing at you people when they financed that!) and when it comes to promised lands free of evil whitey there’s still Liberia waiting for you there with open arms.

Look at black men they all lust after white women even I bet you.

    • Kim September 24, 2020 at 9:27 am #

      @ thwack

What can be done about blacks? They are an anvil around the neck of the nation.

They are becoming every day more and more of an unproductive, criminal burden.

If the country is to survive, the anvil must be cut free.

This is something that both Whites and Hispanics surely agree upon.

      • Rupert September 24, 2020 at 11:00 am #

Oddly enough the White/Hispanic divisions and the rancor around such things seems to diminish in the face of black riots.

    • Kim September 24, 2020 at 9:36 am #

      @thwack

The best thing about BLM is that it is making it so perfectly clear to formerly sympathetic Whites how very much blacks envy, hate and resent Whites and how utterly mindless and unappeasable blacks are.

So, cheers to BLM for that dose of nationally advertised reality, I suppose.

      • benr September 24, 2020 at 10:04 am #

Well I can say blm has worked wonders for my wife.
However to say all blacks are bad is plain stupid I know a few who are the salt of the earth and all of them think blm is stupid.
They get angry about the looting and rioting and say follow the laws and commands given from the POlice and these fools would live.

        • sophia September 24, 2020 at 11:45 am #

BLM would probably dissolve without white support. It is our crazy white brethren who much be reigned in.

            That has already happened.
Pull the funding and BLM dissolves back into the muck from whence it came.

      • Rupert September 24, 2020 at 10:06 am #

BLM’s predecessors after the St. Skittles moment and Ferguson made me ‘racist’.

I was raised on MLK’s ‘dream’ and ‘content of your character’ and whatnot… but while it can be wise to interact charitable with individuals, group dynamics and group attitudes are largely true in the main.

That said, I appreciate thwack’s presence, it is well to see different points of view, even those I find utterly alien.

I am sick unto death of hearing from the likes of him.

American blacks like him are a disease that self perpetuates and infects others with hatred.

I was so surprised when I was in the Cayman islands when I ran into blacks there totally different attitude and behavior.
They were whiter in attitude, dress and speech then I was.
Even more to the point they did not reek of hatred and racism.

          • Rupert September 24, 2020 at 10:59 am #

I can’t think of a good explanation for why Afro-Caribs from places like Barbados, certain tribes and peoples in Sub-Saharan Africa proper, etc are so much more… civilized.

The hardcore biological determinism crowd has a paradox to overcome with regards to such things. If two peoples of very similar history and genetics can become so different after a similar period of freedom, what’s the distinguishing factor?

Though I suppose attempts to remedy jogger culture with the norms of a culturally alien cousin people would be seen as White Supremacy or the like.

The media, particularly The Young Turks, keep using the term “Murder” irresponsibly and recklessly to describe the Breonna Taylor case. Murder requires “Intent” to kill. Here, the cops’ intent was to search the apartment.

Wanton Stupidity = Reckless indifference to the facts and the law and denial of Reality for emotional reasons.

“Murder requires “Intent” to kill. Here, the cops’ intent was to search the apartment.”

    ******************************

What did the cops find in the apartment?

    • Pucker September 24, 2020 at 9:44 am #

What difference does that make? Are you suggesting that if the Cops had probable cause to search for drugs in Breonna’s apartment (Breonna having a connection to illegal drug transactions), and they didn’t find drugs, then the cops did not really intend to search the apartment for drugs? That’s mentally twisted.

Here, Breonna’s other drug dealing boyfriend’s car had been seen by multiple parties outside of Breonna’s apartment on multiple occasions. There were numerous phone calls between Breonna and her drug dealing boyfriend in prison discussing drugs. It would be reasonable to look for drugs in her apartment, particularly after the cops had just grabbed her boyfriend and seemingly didn’t find all of the suspected drugs in his place.

I worry about the Americans’ ability to use their brains. It must be the Internet porn or the American public educational system?

        Answer the question

        • Pucker September 24, 2020 at 10:03 am #

No, the cops didn’t find drugs in Breonna’s apartment. So what? It’s irrelevant.

The thinking of these Black Lives Matter Neanderthals just be?: “Breonna didn’t do anything wrong, so the cops who shot her must have murdered her.”

The prosecutor has to consider whether the cops committed a crime in shooting Breonna? The prosecutor has to consider the cops actions and the cops state of mind. Here, the cops had a valid Search Warrant, and they were performing their duties as policemen in executing a search of Breonna’s apartment. It’s not about what Breonna did; it’s about what the cops did, and their state of mind at the time. Blooming Black Lives Matter Idiots!

This Black Lives Matter nonsense is a glaring illustration of why pure democracy is very dangerous. The mob is ignorant and mindlessly driven by emotions. It makes reason impossible.

        • sophia September 24, 2020 at 11:54 am #

          Thwack,

Speaking of questions. I have one for you. Do you think that blacks should be held to the same standards as whites? Do you think that if blacks are involved in felonies, and they resist arrest, police should let them go? What if the person who called the police was a woman who needed protection? Let him go?

Why do you defend the lowest of the low?
Is this what you want in the heads of whites? Do you like that the media attention goes entirely to the lowest scum that the blacks produce?
Does it piss you off that there are many intelligent, articulate and well meaning blacks who are ignored by the media?
The conservatives are often aware of them, but not the liberals. For the liberals, who believe only the lying media, they actually think that blacks are lower humans who can’t be expected to behave at our standards. Do you think that is a good paradigm to have in the minds of white people? Because this is the backlash I see coming. We will go back 60-70 years in the minds of white people.

          • benr September 24, 2020 at 12:22 pm #

Both of these deadlines refer to 2035.

Of course the hydrogen airplanes goal is impossible and is not carbon free in any reasonable sense.

No IC cars in California by 2035 means either an enormous and probably impossible investment in electricity generation capacity or a massive fall in the use of motor vehicles. My money is on the latter.

Anyway, what a world of BS we live in and it becomes more outrageous and promises an ever more radiant future even as it is perfectly clear that modernity is being flushed.

      Talking about foolish.
How does this ridiculous state expect to generate the electricity for all these “cars”?
If you use electricity generated by evil petro products then they are not carbon neutral.
Nor is the manufacturing of these cars.
In fact if they go all in to green energy products these green energy products are hardly green in the production or disposal cycles.

This is nothing but slight of hand and more means of control it has NOTHING TO do with carbon dioxide reversal.
If this was the case they would mandate programs for planting billions of trees all over the world and replant the chopped down rain forests.

Global warming is like the Covid to these idiots. There is nothing anyone can do about either issue. Band aids to mitigate the two issues are put in place, Bottom line is there are no solutions so Mankind will just have to adapt to new conditions. The common denominator for both is that there is just too damned many of us here. Find a solution for that!

          Maybe the Chinese have tried??

      • JohnAZ September 24, 2020 at 12:22 pm #

        Y’all.

One of the main problems of the US is that the politicians, the decision makers are the dumbest segment of our society. These idiots are just making waves about issues they know nothing about. Newsom, the eco-expert, along with the rest of the idiots led by AOC, have no idea what they are talking about relative to GND. The GND is going to happen all by itself due to the decreasing supply of petrol. That is not good enough for these power hungry idiots who have no clue about what they are saying.

Newsom thinks, convert to electric cars, problem solved. What an idiot. He is also one of the leaders in favor of suing the hell out of PG&E for the fires. So we punish the corporation we need to expand itself by magnitudes to handle the conversion. Makes sense, doesn’t it.

When the Democratic debates were going on, I would just laugh at the “fixes” that were being bandied about. The Dems, like when they lie, bring out outrageous, impossible solutions for all the problems. None, I mean none of their idiocy is feasible. Climate change, oil shortage, health care cost, income inequality, non-assimilation of ethnic groups, foreign affairs, not a single item have they addressed with a feasible solution or plan. The debates should be interesting, I will be listening for even one feasible solution. Remember, both sides, these idiots are spending trillions of our dollars, for what? Listen and see if anything positive shows up. The only result I feel will come from the debates is a bully lording over an incompetent with trouble in the streets as the result.

        CW2.

        Those who can, do.

        Those who cannot, teach.

        Those who cannot teach, administer.

Those who cannot administer go into politics.

Failure is the bottom line for the constituents of the Deep State.

So why in our society, does the populace keep increasing the control of this ship of fools Over our lives?

China should not even be in Taiwan. The island should be returned to it original aboriginal, headhunting inhabitants.

The Han Chinese are Johnny-come-latelys in Taiwan (Formosa) as the Portugese arrived there in 1544. The Spanish established a colony in the north of Formosa, with the island’s first stone building, in the 1620s. A little later, the Dutch estabished a colony in the island’s south.

It was not part of any Chinese empire. The Han only came to Taiwan subsequently to work on Spanish sugar plantations.

Clearly, the anti-colonial PRC should demand that the island be returned to its original inhabitants, their descendants, or failing that, to Spain.

        • BackRowHeckler September 25, 2020 at 8:37 am #

Phew, Spain and Portugal were everywhere, early on, that is.

I was reading that on some of the Spanish ships Drake encountered off the West Coast of S America in the 1570s, he found Chinese and Philippino crewmen aboard.

And I was wondering where Japan got the guns to equip its armies during the Civil Wars that occurred in the 1600s: turns out in 1545 Japanese officials bought 2 muskets from a visiting Portugese merchant ship, and simply copied them, eventually creating a formidable domestic arms industry. (Just from those 2 guns)

    Dear readers, a story of great human interest;

The BBC reports, this PM, that a business that cleaned, re-rolled and sold used condoms as new has been discovered in Vietnam.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-54284355

Apparently, they had over 300,000 of the used condoms on hand when authorities intervened.

This has piqued my interest…because where in the hell is anyone, anywhere, generating 300,000 used condoms, storing them, and then offering the damn things for sale? Who collects them and from what venues? Do they handle them by hand or use a stick to gather them?

On a more…sober note, if they can monetize used condoms, what might be done with the issue within? Pig food? The mind boggles.

On the other hand if you drive across the countryside in early spring before fields turn green you’ll see a lot of white spots.Believe me – it is not Magic Mushrooms.

A few months back I went to eat some peanut butter and happened to smell the jar , and it smelled , if ever so slightly , funny.

For whatever reason , I had always just assumed peanut butter had an indefinite shelf life.

So , for the first time ever , in the case of peanut butter , I went looking for an expiration date. Turns out peanut butter does have a shelf life.

Have you ever actually checked to see if condoms have an expiration date ? I never did , and I was in the business.

My guess would be that they do. After all , It’s not a claw foot tub or a cast iron stove.

You no doubt know that grocery stores routinely throw in the garbage food that is still edible , probably still quite safe , but , alas , the expiration date has been exceeded .

But the fact is merchants across the board do the same thing with all sorts of items .

A package of ball point pens sat on the shelf for six months and nobody ever bought them.

Maybe the ink in the pens has dried up by now ? Or maybe not ? Regardless , into the dumpster they go.

      — Or maybe they don’t just go into the dumpster willy nilly.

Some other merchant has some interest in discarded ball point pens , so the garbage gets sorted , cherry – picked.

Now maybe you noticed that the article is pretty short on details to begin with , and across the board ?

I might argue that the article has NOT , REALLY , told you ANYTHING.

Except maybe that they have police and condoms in Vietnam ?

      Wow.

The article is pretty short on details , and I suspect that could just as well apply to the key word , ” USED “.

They don’t really tell you what , ” used ” means , and ” used ” could just as well mean something boring and mundane.

Something untoward must be involved here because it was a police raid , there is an implication of something criminal ?

Gee , I realize you might be a tad touchy where that particular demographic or subculture is concerned , so I’ll point out to you some details we do know otherwise, regardless of this article , and not withstanding.

Vietnam is a Communist totalitarian state.

The Police in Vietnam , first and foremost , are agents or representatives of the interest of the Communist Party , even before nation , or anything else.

Indeed , if what is generally true of other Communist states is true here , every policeman in Vietnam is a card – carrying member of the Communist Party. Indeed , you cannot become a police officer without party membership , and not just party membership , but a long history of reliability and loyalty to the party. Meaning they check out your parents , siblings , relatives and friends too.

Not that there is much on that score to check. The police in Communist countries is a closed shop. They simply don’t recruit outside of the communist social circle or subculture.

Do Communist parties have a history of criminalizing quite mundane and above – board commercial activities and characterizing those activities as dark and sinister ?

I would argue that they do have such a history. A long history of it.

And every day and all – of – the – time history of it.

I actually hate to go into the whole Communist Party thing .

But then with so many people , when you say , ” The authorities ” their IQ promptly drops into the fucking toilet.

But maybe they can see simple confidence schemes , cant , euphemism , smoke and mirrors , when employed by their sworn enemies ?

Hey , maybe they really are recycling actually used condoms ?

But you asked yourself , how would they go about doing this practically and profitably ?

It’s maybe a good bet that even the Devil has to honor the laws of physics ?

      I don’t live in Vietnam …..

      But on a daily basis I routinely employ a rule of thumb which , for lack of a better term , I would call , ” The Reichstag Fire rule of thumb ” ;

Is the information salacious ? Incendiary ? prurient ? morbid ?

Then take it with a grain of salt.

And NOT on account of whether it is true , or untrue.

      But , just as I said ;
Is the information salacious ? Incendiary ? prurient ? morbid ?

Going back to Communist States —

Most Communist media is not lies.

That would be stupid , and where they are that stupid , that’s a good thing.

No , the Devil is in the spin.

” Why do you defend the lowest of the low? ”

    — Sophia

The question was directed at Thwack.

In any case , I’m probably going to take the original comment out of its original context anyway , to make my own , separate , point.

” Why do you defend the lowest of the low? ”

I subscribe 100% to the doctrine of original sin.

” Man is conceived in sin , born into corruption , and passes from the stink of the diaper , to the stench of the shroud. ”

There is no high , or low.

    So much for theology.

I would argue , though , that it matches my experience of daily life.

Granted , no , the average hamburger – flipper or toilet – scrubber isn’t a genius.

But then , I have long since lost count of the number of college graduates I wouldn’t hire to wash my car.

The moral of the story of the dismal failure of college graduates to live up to their hype seems to be that money , like cosmetics , can paint over a lot of flaws.

I have lost count of the number of people I have met who came from happy , loving , supportive families —- and get thee far away from me !

They are so often blind and spoiled brats , and you didn’t do ME any favors when you spoiled them , when you taught them a cosmology where they are at the center of the universe , the axis around which all things revolve.

    On the other hand ,

prostitution is only ever a viable occupation because most men are not born rapists . Who the fuck would buy something that they could just as well take ?

Likewise , episodes like Dien Bein Phu and Stalingrad are only possible because men can be trained to act as nice , well – behaved little girls who do what the fuck they are told.

    And so it goes.

” Why do you defend the lowest of the low? ”

    Las Vegas odds.

The best damn card player in the world ,

    assuming he isn’t cheating ,

is going to deal himself a bad hand once in awhile.

So , to be as blunt as I can ,

It raises red flags with me when a person never makes an argument they could get , realistically , lynched for.

It’s math , plain and simple.

Their uniform , consistent popularity and adherence to 20,000 pages of statutes , is mathematically highly improbable.

The very perfection of the resume raises a question.

Looks like the FBI was going to close its investigation on Flynn until they had a meeting at the White House. It was kept open. One agent was so disgusted (Barnett) that he quit.

      Restaurants too.

Yesterday stopped at this seaside rooftop restaurant in the Village of Niantic, a pretty little place hard on the bay; where you could not only watch boats coming and going but Amtrak and Conrail trains passing by: all boarded up, probably couldn’t reopen if they wanted too.

The place was always busy and bustling, shut down by the Covid emergency.
