You’d think that a wobbling civilization, plagued by failures of economy and politics, would have better things to do than submit to the crypto-religious ghost-dance of racial hysteria called “being Woke” that preoccupies its thinking class. Case in point: the vocational martyrdom at Smith College of a lowly staffer named Jodi Shaw, who objected publicly to the ritual indignities heaped on her by colleagues and students in the name of “social justice” — that is, the holy war against “whiteness.”

Her story: Ms. Shaw, a divorced mother with two children (and Smith alum, 1993) worked as a Student Support Coordinator in the Department of Residence Life (that is, a dorm counselor). She was asked to denounce herself in staff meetings about “systemic racism,” and complained about it through the proper channels, which only invited more hectoring abuse. In frustration, she finally posted a video on the web to expose the Stalinist bullying that was allowed to infect every corner of campus life at Smith. The admin offered her a cash settlement to shut up and get lost. Ms. Shaw turned it down but resigned anyway in a long letter to Smith President Kathleen McCartney that she made public about the college’s hostile workplace.

How does this happen? Because Wokery above all is about status, and the elite schools exist to confer status on the young people who can get into them, who then move on into an adult life of high-status (high-paying) employment facilitated by their old school connections. In prior times, the elite schools accomplished this by offering a superior education via superior faculty and superior curricula. Lately, the emphasis has shifted to promoting sham moral superiority, because it is a shortcut to gaining power over other people — and nowadays, elitism is no longer about excellence, but just raw power over others. As the Woke hysteria ramped up on campuses across the nation, and the various colleges and U’s started competing to out-do each other in moralistic fanaticism, Smith College vied with its sister schools and the other Ivies for Woke-est of all.

The moral black hole at the center of this vicious nonsense is the spectacular failure of authority of the people who run these institutions. Smith President Kathleen McCartney supported and encouraged the Woke inquisition on her campus. She gets paid the tidy sum of $515,461 a year. Maybe she didn’t want to give that up by taking a principled stand against bad behavior and bad ideas. Maybe she favors the rule of bad ideas and unprincipled behavior? Is she stupid or depraved? And, of course, what about her huge staff of vice-presidents and deans, not to mention the school’s board of trustees? To what degree are we seeing simple cowardice?

Ms. McCartney got stung in 2014 — the year of the Ferguson, Missouri, riots — when she sent out a campus-wide email, trying to mollify the inflamed student body, under the heading “All Lives Matter.” This was early in the Woke frenzy, and the phrase “all lives matter” was just then getting minted as a form of “hate speech,” so Ms. McCartney apparently made an innocent blunder — for which she was forced to pay with one of those abjectly disingenuous apologies that have become the standard dishonorable response to Woke coercion. Evidently, she learned a lesson with that: just go with the flow. The wonder is that not one other adult on that campus has the decency to speak out against the new Stalinesque fashion, or to support Jodi Shaw.

It must be self-evident to many of the people caught up in this mob madness that the Woke crusade is dishonest, stupid, cruel, and evil. All it really accomplishes is to generate more racial animosity while it paints people-of-color as not having the personal wherewithal to get on in their lives without extra-special assistance from people not of color. But having sacrificed their sense and their honor, how can people in authority repent? As author James Lindsay puts it on a podcast at his New Discourses website:

They have been supporting this thing that they can see for themselves is complicit in evil, they intuit it… but psychologically they cannot let themselves see it, because to admit that what they see in front of their own eyes… to admit that it’s obviously as bad as it is, that the theory itself [systemic racism] is worse than bankrupt, it’s evil, requires going through the entire psychological process of admitting to yourself, and to others around you, that they got duped, and they carried water for that evil thing…. There’s a high psychological cost to admitting that you were dumb and got tricked, and there is a high social cost for both of those things as well.”

Yeah, there should be a cost. I hope Jodi Shaw sues the living shit out of Smith College, its president, and its board of trustees. She has a Go-Fund-Me page. It contains the video she made. Send her some money so she can support her kids and hire a lawyer. There’s a desperate need to impose consequences for the failure of authority in this land. And to put this insane race hustle behind us so we can get on with the task of preserving civilized life in a society that is about to implode from further failures in economics and politics.

Note: As of Tuesday morning, GoFundMe has released the temporary “hold” on Jodi Shaw’s account.

This is the best analysis and summary of what Higher Education has become, that I have ever seen.

    • King of Comedy February 22, 2021 at 10:54 am #

The university system has to be defunded. Public universities of course are sucklings on the government teat and could simply not function without the taxpayer. Private universities, albeit to a lesser degree, are in the same boat.

At this point, “bridges to nowhere” are more valuable to society than the unemployables being created en masse at bullshit factories like Smith.

      • lateStarter February 22, 2021 at 11:17 am #

I think that quite a few of them will be folding up in the very near future. It will eventually go back to the old model for a while where the wealthy sent their sons to be groomed for future positions in government and industry. Same situation with flying and travel in general. And then, it will probably all stop.

Will anyone feel sorry for all those ex college and university presidents/deans/board members/etc when they find themselves unemployed? I didn’t think so…

        • King of Comedy February 22, 2021 at 11:34 am #

Agreed… but why not accelerate the process?

          • lateStarter February 22, 2021 at 12:36 pm #

It will accelerate on its own. How in this particular case could it be accelerated? Desperate parents will keep sending their children to college with the hope that they might get ahead.

For sure misplaced hope, but that is all they have. Until there are vastly fewer and the selection process gets intense.

          • EnterpriseSpaceship February 23, 2021 at 9:23 pm #

            @King of Comedy

100 peaceful and luxurious years have passed for Higher Education, despite the constant speed of Light cannot be squared – by definition!

The 20th Century Higher Education didn’t even dare acknowledging that 1824’s Sadi Carnot needed to look deeper into Thermodynamics.

We understand today that the more humans burn fossil fuels the slower they achieve in understanding what’s going on in their world.

Ultimately, when fossil fuels critically deplete to scarcity, they’ll realise they know nothing.

The process is dead-slow, and as long as fossil fuels are traded cheaper than water, nothing will accelerate it an inch – rest assured.

      • So many liars February 22, 2021 at 11:24 am #

The public schools and universities are corrupted. No sane person should trust them to properly educate themselves or their children.

And yet, I keep reading that Americans are screaming for the government to reopen schools (where they aren’t already). Why? Why do we want to send our children to the schools to be corrupted?

This contradictory thinking is making me a little cross-eyed!

        • lateStarter February 22, 2021 at 11:33 am #

Agree about public education system. Unfortunately, it mostly amounts to a vast baby-sitting operation so parents can go to work. It is not about education.

          • Beryl of Oyl February 22, 2021 at 11:46 am #

We tend to forget that kids don’t know even basic reading, writing and arithmetic without schooling.

Some parents believe that kids learn better in a classroom with their peers and a trained teacher, than they would do at home.

How many really wealthy people don’t send their kids to school?

My system has lots of kids who drop out, but it also turns out well-educated kids.

          • So many liars February 22, 2021 at 11:46 am #

We should have taken advantage of the shut down to develop parallel private education for our own children, our friends’ children, and our neighbors’ children. It was a wonderful opportunity to break the public schools’ hold. Seems that we squandered that opportunity.

Likewise with universities. If they cannot or will not provide the in-person learning that students and their parents pay for, there should have been a MASSIVE refusal to pay tuition, a loud protest of their privileged salaries, and a widespread turn to vocational education.

          • bluedog February 22, 2021 at 11:57 am #

Well with fewer parents working due to the virus and lack of jobs it shouldn’t be too hard to add another scam to cover over the fact that this country is dead in the water, with a failing financial system crumbling infrastructure and all the rest that go’s with it, as they keep the propaganda flowing no matter what the party of one says. The country is going down much faster than what they thought it would so now its smoke and mirrors to keep it going for just a little longer.11

I don’t think we’ve missed the bus on community schooling. In the future (like the one that started yesterday) community will be how free people (if there are any) accomplish complex tasks. Normal hopped into a Tesla Roadster with a pencil-necked geek and blew this pop stand. She ain’t a’comin’ back.

So many liars, that is what a CA woman named Peggy Hall has been developing. She calls it “Freedom Learning” – her website is http://www.thehealthyamerican.org. She also has looked up all the laws against forced masking, firing for noncompliance with vaccinations, etc. What a powerhouse!

        • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 4:13 pm #

SML–this contradiction drives me nuts as well, but some people make the point that without any school, the kids get isolated and depressed fail to learn social skills.

Really though, this is a tacit admission that the kids aren’t really learning any of useful *material* at school anyway; they could learn “social skills” just as well by running around and exploring the neighborhood & forest or playing sports.

Seems like high time to start setting up some small neighborhood schoolhouses and to find some intrepid, well-rounded adults willing to grill some kiddies on the 3 R’s for a few hours a day, 3-4 days a week. Schools Made By Hand, you might say…

At its most extreme is cancel culture an incitement to commit violence, even murder? Once somebody has been “cancelled” do they completely disappear into a wormhole never to be heard from again or does the toxic demonization and extreme defamation of character that the woke inquisition specializes in encourage personal reprisals that can be life threatening? And if so shouldn’t the woke mob be held to the same standards that we hold the KKK, neo-Nazis and other fringe groups? Would like to hear JHK’s thoughts about that,

        • lateStarter February 22, 2021 at 1:07 pm #

Good point hortonz. If you push people over the edge, who is really responsible for the resulting carnage? Don’t worry, the ‘wokesters’ will have an answer and if you don’t agree with it – off to the re-education centers.

        • BornToKillPeace February 22, 2021 at 1:48 pm #

A video popped up for me yesterday about that topic, it was about 5 minutes. I don’t remember the exact title.

“Cancel Culture is a dress rehearsal for genocide” or something of that sort.

          • thirdcoastlegend February 22, 2021 at 7:10 pm #

First they come for the statues, then they come for the people.

I cancelled myself years ago by dropping off Facebook and never doing Twitter.

I am retired so I can’t be fired and now I only post comments where I won’t be censored like here and on Glenn Greenwald’s Substack account and at LionelMedia.

I gave up all “woke” websites years ago like Huffpost, Commondreams, Truthdig, Crooksandliars etc.

Funny now that I think about it, I left all those places (including CNN and MSNBC) right about the time Hillary went down in flames.

It looks like there is a correlation between the Queen geting throttled (and Trump being inaugurated) and “being woke”.

          I am proudly not Woke.

          • Night Owl February 22, 2021 at 5:03 pm #

Same here. I can’t tell you the number of times I have heard “Why no Facebook? Why no WhatsApp?” etc., over the years.

Social pressure shapes idiots. A lot of the tech. stuff started when Gmail first game out. They did a thing where they gave a handfull of people the ability to send invites to friends, to create the illusion that the service was exclusive. Now it is one of the biggest data mining operations in all of the Wokester Reich.

        • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 4:39 pm #

Sure, probably it is incitement to violence. But so what? That doesn’t maSure, probably it is incitement to violence. But so what? That doesn’t matter one whit to the Woke, because the Woke are now *in power*.

Don’t you see? Justice doesn’t apply to them now. Justice, in their view, is never “impartial” anyway. It is simply a historically-conditioned *weapon* for the powerful–in this case, them.

Given that our tormentors are fundamentally *nihilistic*, we need to stop habitually expecting that showing how “the shoe’s on the other foot” will somehow shame those tormentors into withdrawing or apologizing. (This touching naivety is now found almost entirely in that vanishing breed once known as “conservatives”.)

On a fundamental level, the embarrassment of being proved a liar or a hypocrite depends on your placing stock in *truth*, or universal standards of some kind.

So when these leftists tell you their philosophy is that there is *no such thing as truth*, only power, you should dare to take them at their word. (Like the Devil, a nihilist/leftist can occasionally tell the truth–even about himself. The crux of his nihilism is that you cannot in any way *count* on him to tell the truth.)

What all this means is that, without ourselves abandoning truth, we have to begin to think in terms of *how raw power really thinks*. There is no use denying that once you have rejected universality or truth, a whole lot of very strange and dangerous moves become available to you.

(This is basically what Yarvin means lately when he writes about “tactical nihilism”, though the term itself makes me cringe.)

          • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 4:42 pm #

Don’t know how I duplicated the first sentence there. Really need to chill and proofread more–

          • MaryV February 22, 2021 at 7:29 pm #

            Well said.

        • MaryV February 22, 2021 at 5:55 pm #

          Great point.

They are acting worse than the people they condemn as ‘extremists’.

I haven’t seen a Proud Boy destroy anyone’s life over an opinion that doesn’t go with the authoritarian narrative we’re supposed to adhere to nowadays.

        • Rulo Deschamps February 22, 2021 at 7:19 pm #

hortonz, I do hold these ghouls to the same standards as neo-nazis and other fringe groups. You name me any race, group or nationality, and I’ll name you their skeletons in the closet. I can demonize, blame, condemn anyone throwing shit in my direction because of my ethnicity. What, you think you’re so pure because you’re black or Chinese or Arab?
So my rule is, I can’t judge anyone for anything their ancestors did or didn’t do at one point. I can’t judge anyone sight unseen, just because he’s black or white.
However all of a sudden everything wrong in the world is whitey’s fault. I worry about that. I won’t apologize for a damn thing, I don’t accept their superiority and holier than thou bullshit. It’s OK to be white and all lives matter, that’s my credo.

      • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 3:44 pm #

As someone invoved with academia (for a little while longer), I heartily agree. I am now bombarded constantly with brain-numbing emails from administration kowtowing about our collective culpability for “systemic racism”, along with invitations to an enless parade of “seminars” on the subject–invitations which seem implicitly a little *less* voluntary by the week.

With the Quisling now installed, it’s now started to work its way into meetings, with my boss recently saying that President’s Day “deserves to be despoiled”… because the presidents in question were *white*.

I can’t leave soon enough. The place has literally become a den of systemic anti-European racism and ahistorical lies. (Perhaps, somewhere, a little bit of actual science gets done, though it is mostly in the form of developing ever-more intricate tools for tracking and manipulating the population–the real meaning of “big data”.)

You probably know that JHK sometimes talks about the disaster of post-WWII zoning and architecture as being designed, effectively, to create “places not worth caring about”.

Well, if you look at academia today, as well as public schooling and most of our culture and public discourse, it’s hard not to also wonder if there isn’t something analagous afoot, but aimed at creating *people* not worth caring about.

For a modest proposal, 90% of current university space–including most “research” complexes–should be shuttered and re-purposed as low-income housing, community gardens or affordable small-business space. Let these “woke” bleeding-heart socialists put their money where their mouths are, and do something to *actually* help the downtrodden–with their own real estate. Another nice start would involve giving up their pensions and driving out the administrators, starting with the DEI parasites.

This is, of course, a fantasy–i.e., that academia can be reduced or dismantled in some kind or orderly, rational way, and thus save whatever bits are still actually useful. Instead, it will probably just keep going until it can’t anymore.

        • MaryV February 22, 2021 at 5:55 pm #

I feel your pain. I’m in the system as well. Watching some of the webinars and meetings is alternatively hilarious and maddening.

          • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 6:25 pm #

Thanks Mary. My sympathies in return… How much longer are you in for?

I do wonder how many in academe basically think this is bullshit, but keep their mouths shut. Half? A third? I read academe is now 90% Dem but 10% non-Woke also seems too low.

I think we should get out and found things afresh, personally.

          • MaryV February 22, 2021 at 7:35 pm #

I have only been in for 5 years & a bit, but I had planned to leave the job after I got my degree 2 years ago and just haven’t, partly because they shut down the school and let us work remotely and that might be through the end of this summer – so it’s giving me time to build a kick-ass resume/portfolio for my next gig (hopefully I’m not too old to get hired, who knows, I’m 57). In any case, I won’t be getting much of a pension. I am going to try to stay on as long as I can but when they physically call me back to work, I will be leaving. WHy? Because I moved to another state. I work in CA, but I was increasingly horrified living there with the COVID insanity. So I moved to a red state. And I have at least 6 months more of this gig.

I watch the mask-o-chists and race fetishizers spout the nonsense in just about every meeting, what a change in just 5 years! I call it the Evergreening of America. Oh they also love to kick up the virtual signalling on zoom calls with their “BLM” virtual backgrounds….

Our academic senate president went so far as to get some people together to craft an official ‘statement of solidarity’ and it’s out loud laughable.

          • MaryV February 22, 2021 at 7:39 pm #

@sevensec, agree, I’d love to be part of an alternative-schooling movement. Peggy Hall got me thinking… and Dr. Shiva also has some alternative stuff going on – another powerhouse, who has the brains to try to steer people away from the two-party IDpol thinking. He offers MIT-level courses (the guy’s basically a genius) affordably to people in an attempt to WAKE people up and get them using critical thinking.

A Renaissance will need to follow the crash – don’t know how it will all work out, but I’m all about gaining knowledge – the right kind, not indoctrination. Something’s got to give! Higher learning has committed suicide.

        • Wizard of the Saddle February 23, 2021 at 4:16 pm #

If these “Woke” maniacs in academia succeed in instigating a Second Civil War it is my firm conviction that virtually every government school and all of the universities will be put to the torch and those who work there will be hung, shot, or sent screaming down the road fleeing for their very lives.

The American people fully recognize where the Marxist seeds in our society first germinated and their righteous wrath is liable to be a most terrible thing to behold.

Nonetheless, such a fate could not possibly fall upon a more deserving pack of scoundrels and thieves. I rather look forward to watching the video footage as the American academy is razed to the ground and salt sown in the defiled soil it used to occupy.

” put this insane race hustle behind us ” JHK

JHK is exactly right in seeing this as a hustle. It’s spawned a whole industry of teachers and consultants who make a living from spreading racial division and hatred. What else can they do with their useless BA degrees in “Diversity Studies”? If universities offered degrees in “Cannibal Cookery” would we expect the consequences to be good for society?

It reminds me of those anti-Trump Republicans, the Lincoln Project. It turns out they were a bunch of sodomites partying hardy while pocketing most of the contributions. Similarly, BLM is run by gay white folks who extort money from cowardly corporations mostly for their personal enrichment.

Then there’s the grand-daddy of them all, The Southern Poverty Law Center. I won’t get into all the cynical, self-serving actions of that deceptive hate group. There are plenty of stories online. “Making Hate Pay” is their motto, and it can be taken two ways.

They tell “bogeyman’ stories to frightened urban liberals about white supremacist groups everywhere – thick as flies at a klan bake. “Send us your money, and we will stop them.” Ironically, these are the same liberals who laugh at the deplorables for sending money to televangelists.

      • BackRowHeckler February 22, 2021 at 12:48 pm #

Well, our local school system employs 3 ‘Diversity Coordinators’, salary, $97,500 per, with full bennies.

This town is 97% white but we generously accept minority kids from Hartford into our schools. Don’t think for one moment our generosity is appreciated; these ‘Diversity Coordinators’ regularly run what can best described as ‘Hate Whitey’ seminars, accusing us of every crime under the sun.

Townspeople for the most part lap up the sh#t being dished out, smile, and say it tastes good.

That last paragraph should be carved in stone and set outside the heavy traffic walk paths of universities and “cultural” hubs throughout the nation.

If the UniParty can do it with bricks for Antifa…

Some rich philanthropists should buy an old run down college and create a curriculum from 20 or 30 years ago where everyone who is accepted signs on as a decent human being with intelligence and character.

          Private with scholarships.

          Absolutely no classes about racism.

Anyone invited to speak there can do so freely and openly.

It would be an interesting study.

Wow, it pays to be a WOKE School!!! From the COVID VOTING FOR WOKE BIDEN PAYOFF BILL https://www.ncsl.org/ncsl-in-dc/publications-and-resources/covid-19-economic-relief-bill-stimulus.aspx

$22.7 billion for the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund.
$20.2 billion to be allocated to public and private non-profit institutions. This allocation formula is a change from the CARES Act, which used only full-time equivalent (FTE) enrollment in its allocation formula:
37.5% based on FTE enrollment of Federal Pell Grant recipients.
37.5% based on headcount enrollment of Pell recipients.
11.5% based on FTE enrollment of non-Pell recipients.
11.5% based on headcount enrollment of non-Pell recipients.
1% based on the relative share of full-time equivalent enrollment of students who were Federal Pell Grant recipients and who were exclusively enrolled in distance education courses prior to the qualifying emergency.
1% based on the relative share of the total number of students who were Federal Pell grant recipients and who were exclusively enrolled in distance education courses prior to the qualifying emergency
Provides $680.9 million to for-profit colleges to provide financial aid grants to students.

Provides $1.7 billion to historically black colleges and universities (HBCU), tribal colleges and minority-serving institutions.

Provides $113 million for institutions with the greatest unmet need related to the pandemic or those not served by the primary formula, such as independent graduate students.

Institutions can use the stimulus money for lost revenue, reimbursement for expenses, technology costs due to the shift to online learning, financial aid for students and more. The bill directs schools to prioritize grants for students with exceptional need. Colleges and universities cannot use the funds for recruitment activities, athletics facilities, religious instruction or senior administrator salaries or bonuses.

Looks as though the Administration is bailing out Big Ed. Which has been a subsidiary of FIRE since all the lilly-guilding began. With enrollment sure to continue cratering, it’s an open question how long they will continue to subsidize it once the working and middl class case buying into the lie that higher education is a requirement for entree into the technocratic ‘professional class’.

    • MaryV February 22, 2021 at 5:50 pm #

I agree, he did a great job.

What perfect timing I chose to start working in higher ed… they were looking for people with systems knowledge from the private sector and I fit the bill, starting working for a community college in 2015. Right when this stuff was about to explode.

The admins running colleges are slaves to culture – and now, cancel culture.

The Evergreen College fiasco taught them nothing. They are doubling down.

I am watching from the inside. I have seen a woman break down at a zoom meeting and apologize for her whiteness. It’s crazy, like watching the inner workings of a cult.

      • Rulo Deschamps February 22, 2021 at 7:40 pm #

MaryV, I think you’re right, it is like a cult for white folk stupid or naive or emotionally unbalanced enough to apologize for their whiteness. The flagellants of the Middle Ages come to mind, lost souls walking in hordes to churches and villages, whipping themselves bloody and imploring mercy for the rather vague sins of their forefathers.
        Masochism? Madness?
I know whites like the woman you describe. The depth of their mental illness worries, saddens and irritates me all at once.

        • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 12:21 am #

It’s a religion, a perversion of Christianity with the original sin being “Whiteness”. And the God? You guessed – the Black race. Of all the gods that man has held, this is surely the most miserable and bizarre.

Obama was the savior, half human and fallen (White) and half divine (Black).

Redemption? None. You remain fallen and White. Perqs? You get to be a good White, even a little bit cool, though nothing compared with Blacks of course. The big payoff: Getting to lord it over unrepentant Whites.

There is a very high opportunity cost to being this woke. The 4-6 years people larp around as Red Guard Maoists are years that can never be repurchased no matter how woke one becomes.

Their completely worthless degrees in finger painting and learning which hole to pee into condemns them to a life working as a barista or waitress. They thought that president Diapers was going to forgive all of their debt in a woke jubilee celebration but that, like the stimulus, has been put on indefinite hold.

I’m convinced that Atlas Shrugged is the dystopian world we are going to get and that is a world without the woke internet. Ya know, at the end of the Roman Empire, people willingly sold themselves into slavery when they could no longer take care of themselves because of the idiotic policies created by the “mad” emperors. I am convinced that just such a scenario is right around the corner here as the wokesters will have but no choice to hand themselves over to perpetual servitude because, after all, what other options will they have in a world made by hand?

    • Beryl of Oyl February 22, 2021 at 10:24 am #

They already made perfectly capable and self-supporting people destroy their livelihoods and beg for government handouts.

They gave the CDC control over rental property that was privately owned.

They made American kids miss out on two years of education.

      • Ron Anselmo February 22, 2021 at 10:37 am #

Beryl – agreed, but we allowed them to do these things, so we’re partly responsible.

One of life’s great truths – “What we allow becomes acceptable.” We need to stop allowing such.

Hopefully we’re headed in that direction.

      • NickelthroweR February 22, 2021 at 10:42 am #

Yes, that is the “Atlas Shrugged” part I was referring to. Look at where we are today. The velocity of money is at zero. Small business, which employs 50% of the workforce has been decimated. The fed is now the only buyer of debt and can not ever raise interest rates or it will see every penny collected in taxes funneled into interest payments. Finally, all of this is happening while we are held hostage to an administration that is hostile to domestic energy production.

Very real-world consequences are headed our way and we just saw a tiny sliver of it in Texas this last week when energy costs spiked 32,000%, wind generation froze, grocery stores were stripped clean and it cost $900 to charge a Tesla. The best part was all the sprinklers freezing, bursting and ruining apartments and condos all over Texas because no system was ever put in place to shut those sprinkler down.

        • tresho February 22, 2021 at 2:50 pm #

“The best part was all the sprinklers freezing, bursting and ruining apartments and condos all over Texas because no system was ever put in place to shut those sprinkler down.” At some point the responsibility must be placed at the individual level. The managers of those buildings were and are entirely capable of comprehending what freezing of water pipes means and of learning how to prevent water damage from causing the very scenario you have described. It isn’t rocket surgery, just involves draining the system. Owners of RVs know they can’t have their systems freeze if their pipes contain plain untreated water. The building managers could have done this, but chose not to do so.

          • Ron Anselmo February 22, 2021 at 3:22 pm #

Good thing it’s not rocket surgery, I hear that’s pretty difficult.

Each warm body in a seat is worth too much money to allow even one to escape.

The elementary school near me has a big outdoor lighted sign (ugly in a residential neighborhood), and the message up yesterday was a reminder to the kids that attendance is important.

Not important enough that the teachers will show up for work.

The kids already have it figured out, they have all flunked more than a year, sitting in front of a screen won’t fix that.

My system has a high dropout rate, someone did float they idea of not allowing them to do that, but the idea of forcing physically grown men and women into seats where they don’t want to be just does not work.

          • draupnir February 22, 2021 at 11:53 am #

As far as I can tell, the teachers are never going back to work. They know a good thing when they see it. They’re still getting paid and are no longer required to control a classroom full of kids, many of whom are animals. Some weeks ago, I saw a video of a union rep teaching her classroom, poolside, in Puerto Rico, more pleasant working conditions altogether.

Those of us who farm ought to start studying up on management. It will be crucial to judge the hands showing up looking for work, those few that have any hope for it, accurately from the start. There is already a small company in my area that brings in a team to plant abandoned fields with sweet potatoes, which need practically no care. They harvest the big ones for drying and commercial use, and leave the small ones for whomever, including a large flock of swans that flies in over winter and fertilizes for them, and sows rye as a green manure over winter. I’ll see what they do this year–probably let the rye grow a year. But I’m going to make a point of popping over (with my mask on) and chatting with them the next time I see them. There are lots of abandoned fields due to the aging on the farmers and disinterest by their children. The trickle of “U-turners” (people heading back to their hometowns out in the boondocks) has turned into a growing freshet with the COVID insanity in the cities. This is Japan, where the government is not giving any thought about food security–so deep is their faith in technology, but look around. Every place, every government is going to have its own respective blind spots.

        • Rulo Deschamps February 24, 2021 at 7:00 pm #

Pat, thank you. Do you farm in Japan? Sorry, English is not my first language, but I got the gist of what you said.
Sweet potatoes are an easy crop! Tolerant too. One of my 2 farms is in South FL, the other in North FL. Hard to grow anything in the south, but I grow okra (I think the Japanese like it… “okura”), eggplants, mangoes, and… sweet potatoes!
Your observations about them are all right and I enjoyed them. I do nurture a permaculture POV where I get some of the crop and wildlife also get some.
Technology is the bane of our existence. Yes.
          Thanks again.

There is a simple physiological explanation for the disease of Wokesterism, as an easily replicated test will demonstrate. Using a highly accurate digital meter, establish what the ambient oxygen and CO2 saturation level of the test air is. According to the CDC breathable air should have at least 20.7 % oxygen and not more than 3% CO2.

Now insert your sensor inside of a mast being worn by a test subject breathing in the control air space. The available oxygen saturation drops immediately to the range of 17.5%. Worst with the gold standard N95 style mask, but still below the level recommended for breathing even with a simple cloth face diaper being worn,. Even more dangerous, CO2 saturation doubles to 5-6 ppm.

Still wonder why the disease of Wokersterism is so prevalent all over the world? A whole generation has had their brain cells permanently damaged by prolonged oxygen deprivation from wearing masks. All in an attempt to protect themselves from virus particles that are 4 to 20 times smaller than the openings in the masks. While we may eliminate the cause by ripping off the face diapers, I’m afraid that wouldn’t be enough to reverse the mental anarchy afoot in the world. Perhaps a decade of working in the healthy atmosphere of a farm, working alongside the draft animals would suffice.

Buy not to worry. The source article for this information was caught in time by the Malignant Overlords and wiped from consciousness, so you don’t have to worry. And the missing link I tried to post has no possibility of infecting your computer and reducing your Social Credit Score.

Innocent question (I’m kind of out of the loop on this issue). Are these ‘wokesters’ straight up requiring that white staff members publicly confess/admit to participating in systemic racism? If so, I guess I would get fired or quit too.

    • David Webb February 22, 2021 at 10:42 am #

Yes, requiring confessions to enjoying white privilege and acknowledging that our whole culture is built upon a foundation of racism is becoming the norm at far too many organizations.

      • lateStarter February 22, 2021 at 11:41 am #

Thank you for your response. In your opinion, is this behaviour common in upper-class PMC type of organizations or more restricted to education, journalism, media/celebrity related fields?

I ask, because I can’t really see this happening down at Jimmy’s Muffler emporium. It seems like a strictly ‘gatekeeping’ type of operation limited to a few select industries.

Probably not Jimmy’s Muffler Emporium though. None of the machine shops and industrial supply businesses I deal with these days have been infected with this mania yet.

It follows logically. The more aid minorities are given by Whites, the more the minorities resent Whites. To justify their growing hatred, they have to vilify Whites in most extreme terms.

I watched a video by Jodi Shaw a few months ago. The whole thing went nuclear after a Black accused a staffer of some kind of racial outrage. The school investigated and found nothing – and that could not be allowed to stand. To justify themselves as good Wokesters and to mollify the Blacks, the School instituted a draconian new rules of political correctness for White staffers.

Ms Shaw is not a drama queen. She is very logical, down to earth, and likeable; a very credible witness and thus a nightmare to people like this. She obviously loved the school very much and was aghast at the betrayal. People like her are the backbone of any institution – and lacking any backbone themselves, they simply do not deserve her.

      • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 4:58 pm #

Well put. To me the question becomes: when and how will alternative institutions begin to be founded? That is really the only hope of preserving any genuine societal functionality, given the now “systemic” poisoning of the mainstream intellectual ecosystems.

These new institutions will have an uphill battle, at first. But they will surely inherit most of the people with backbones or brains–as such, even if outnumbered, they will have a winning edge. Almost Darwinian…

Latestarter, Borntokillpeace, indeed I don’t see anything like that in the ‘salt of the earth’ jobs, carpenters, welders, farmers, and I don’t think I will.
Perhaps this woke hysteria is yet another wedge separating not just the haves and have nots, but those who do something valuable and the masses of cretins sitting on their ass in front of a computer and phone all day and thinking themselves more enlightened than those of us who get our hands dirty and do something useful, instead of cold calling to sell timeshares or teaching hatred to entitled Bratleighs.
Maybe they hate us manual workers because we’re stronger, know much more about how the world actually works, and our behinds are reasonable and not grotesque and flabby from the years of office work.
Flabby fat ass, manicured nails: diversity training.
Normal ass, rough hands: no diversity training.
      The choice is yours.

When I checked Ms. Shaw’s Go Fund Me page yesterday, pledged support had reached about a hundred and seventy five thousand dollars – well beyond its stated goal of a hundred and fifty.

Two further things to observe: a notice had been posted on that page saying that this GFM project is somehow in dispute, and suggesting that those who wish to contribute to Ms. Shaw’s cause do so elsewhere. Also, the largest single contribution to that point was a munificent five thousand dollars, which certainly suggests that some formidable anti-wokeness power has a dog in this fight.

We are, indeed, living in interesting times.

The term ‘idiocracy’ continues to come to mind. Who knew that a really dumb, low budget comedy movie would turn out to be an epic account of things to come?

What “really dumb, low budget comedy movie” are you referring to?

      • David Webb February 22, 2021 at 11:23 am #

“Idiocracy” is the name of the movie. It’s about an average guy who is accidentally frozen and wakes up in a not-too-distant future America where he’s the smartest guy in the country. It’s pretty funny if you don’t think about the fact that it seems to be a more and more likely reality with each passing year.

        • King of Comedy February 22, 2021 at 12:07 pm #

In time, Idiocracy, released in 2006, will cease being seen as a mere comedy and will be included among the likes of the future-facing works of Wells and Clarke because it sure as hell does seem highly predictive of the current trajectory.

        • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 12:11 pm #

He is a soldier who volunteers to be frozen by the Army as part of an experiment. They forget about his existence when the guy in charge is arrested. He wakes up accidently centuries from now in a low IQ dystopia. The movie is interesting because it is based on the Truth: that IQ is mostly genetic and that people are getting dumber because smart people are too busy or self indulgent to reproduce themselves.

This has been a perpetual theme of Western Civilization. A study done in the early 20th century found that most graduates of the “Seven Sisters” (of which Smith is one) had very few children or none at all.

          • David Webb February 22, 2021 at 12:37 pm #

You can’t blame it all on busy or self-indulgent smart people, our government is doing a great job of making sure that people who have no skills beyond reproduction are cared for and supported while they raise another generation of useless breeders.

I always find it interesting that no matter what social trends and perversions America goes thru. The Amish and Mormons are totally unaffected. If the American government collapsed tomorrow The Amish would go on with their daily life.

    • hmuller February 22, 2021 at 10:46 am #

If Mittens Romney is any indicator, the Mormons certainly have their globalist, satanist wing. And I wonder if it’s only a wing.

It has just occurred to me- is one of the reasons the Boy Scouts had to be destroyed is because to progress to the highest level, you had to learn some basic survival skills?

    Their motto is Be Prepared.

    • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 11:08 am #

No. Probably because they taught the importance of individuality and self- reliance. Also, to avoid the evil that the Leftist controlled Deep State represents. Remember Mr. Smith? Capra’s belief in the ultimate goodness of the Federal government is a bunch of bunk today.

    • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 12:16 pm #

A totally fallen group. After a short time in, the first girls are receiving their Eagle badges, the highest honor. It takes years. They obviously did not earn them fairly. And as the Girl Scouts said about their admittance, Why? The desire to destroy is the only answer.

      • Blackbird February 22, 2021 at 1:44 pm #

The fact that courageous young women and elite non-binary warriors stormed and took that citadel of toxic masculinity is itself reason enough to award these mighty conquerors the highest honor of the despised conquered. Get with the program. Find something you are no good at – I mean really no good at – then scream and cry until you are awarded the highest honors in that field. Bask in that warm solipsistic soup of grievance and affirmation. Then do it again!

Hey malthuss, in my youth I lived there for a spell as a kibbutz volunteer so I got to know the country fairly well. I dunno about organ trafficking, but everybody hates the ultra orthodox there, not just for not paying taxes but avoiding military service too, and having this huge, biblical families of 10 or 12 children without a visible means of support except gov’t subsidies. They don’t pull their weight, and are the first to start provocations, like the settlements thing, that end up costing the rest of society a lot of blood and treasure.
I find the most fanatical and committed of any religion insufferable myself. As a kid in catholic school I hated the kids who joined so called faith leader groups and then had free rein to come and go from the classroom and also had the power to keep the rest of us during recess or soccer practice sitting there listening to their sanctimonious crap in preparation for Easter or whatever.
I suppose many normal Jews and Muslims must feel the same way about the more ardent and militant of their brethren, just my 2¢.

          • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 12:24 am #

Yohannon, I have perpetuated my race, thanks, times 2. But shouldn’t we all take a vow to less offspring? Maybe based on global size of our slice? Like whoever is 40% is allowed to have enough to perpetuate that 40, and us take our rightful 15%. Dunno what Jews are in the big picture, but shouldn’t they stick to it? There’s too many of us. Undeniable. “Us” as in humans, evolved apes. Gaia can’t provide for us all anymore.

  14. RaymondR February 22, 2021 at 10:38 am #

Excellent article Jim, I learn a lot from your postings on how to present ideas in concise and interesting ways.

It occurred to me is that the now constant call to give BIPOC a hand up (or a hand out) may get people thinking that maybe there is something to this white superiority thing after all. White people don’t seem to need any special help to function in our society whereas BIPOC are totally unable to thrive without special considerations.

It will end with the resurrection of George Wallace only it will be called peaceful separation. So much for the American melting pot.

    • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 10:42 am #

If the Whites have unlimited superiority as you indicate, how come there are so many unsuccessful Po’ Whites and so many successful Blacks. Your logic is suspect.

      • messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 11:12 am #

The only thing “unlimited” [ so far ] is their niavete.

      • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 12:23 pm #

Blacks are helped at every stage, John. At the expense of Whites. In other words, low and middle class Whites are hurt at every stage.

That being said, 13% of Black Americans are at or above the average White IQ of 100. This figure has been found repeatedly for the last hundred years. It is simply the Truth. If the chips were allowed to fall as they may, there would be a small, legitimate Black middle class. Maybe bigger than last time if they weren’t being held back by real White racism. That’s just theoretical of course, since the entire middle class is being sacrificed. But clarity is always good to have.

And since we’re on the subject: Even at the same level of IQ and education, Blacks have a much higher crime rate. Poorer impulse control is part of the hardware. Built in software if you will.

        • hmuller February 22, 2021 at 3:34 pm #

          Good points, Johannon.
It’s amazing how many people (i.e. left-wing atheists) who claim to be “grounded in science” will not discuss these issues based on the scientific evidence. Name-calling is always their only recourse.

Frankly, I don’t like the facts either. I wish all races were equally blessed in every department. But real progress depends on recognizing reality.

      • malthuss February 22, 2021 at 6:28 pm #

‘gift of the Baptists of [somewhere]’.

As Y as pointed out, when whites or yellows build infrastructure,
        blacks can benefit.

go to Haiti and send us a report.

        • malthuss February 22, 2021 at 6:29 pm #

We have had solid scientific research that blacks are substantially different from whites since sixty nine. That’s 1869 not 1969. Galton published a paper on the low IQ’s of blacks in that year. Of course the concept of IQ didn’t even exist then. He used other language. Black lack of intelligence and violence had been commented on in traveler’s accounts as far back as there have been such accounts. That’s from at least New Kingdom Egypt.
One common reaction by explorers first on encountering blacks in Africa is mistaking them for a form of chimpanzees. Let me remind you that chimps are not just stupid compared to people, they are also nasty.
For example there have been seven authenticate cases of pet chimps killing and eating the human infants of their owners. In the wild chimps hunt and eat monkeys, and a human baby, it seems, looks like a chubby and delicious kind of monkey.
We have all seen cute comical chimps on TV and the movies like J. Fred Muggs on the Today program or Tarzan’s Cheetah. Those cute little animal comedians were all quite young. Grown chimps are vicious, murderous and cunning. No one realized this except a few white explorers and native blacks. But not only are adult chimps many times stronger than a human but they make plots and lay traps. If you want a pet, get something safer like a Pit Bull or a leopard.
The point is simple. Blacks are not chimps but we are descended from chimps – not the much more docile Bonobo. And violence seems to have been greater in early man. It is certainly more prevalent is the remnant hunter/gatherer populations that still exist in various jungles. Black Africans are only about 50,000 to 80,000 years less evolved than Whites and Asians whereas we split from chimps 7,000,000 years ago. But those few thousand years saw great strides in the emergence of bigger brains and lowered violence.
All the readers know most of this although almost no one understood chimps until Jane Goodall went to Africa.
I’m off topic. I meant to write something about the causes of our strange reluctance to accept the reality of racial differences..

          • Rulo Deschamps February 22, 2021 at 8:46 pm #

malthuss, “Grown chimps are vicious, murderous and cunning”.
A very good reason to leave them undisturbed in their jungles, not take them as our pets. Enough said.

The Left agenda is going to fail miserably. Texas is just the start. Wind has been a failure, solar has been shown in a recent study to be a global warming agent due to the blackness of the medium absorbing mor heat. Renewable energy is a disaster in the making.

What Trump is going to start with CPAC is critical, right now. A resistance to this reckless government must be formed, for now and for the future when this group of idiots fail miserably.

Number one is the reaction to Covid, ie no reaction. Just bitch at the former team, with absolutely no justification to their claims, to the point of foolishness.

Biden claiming that the Trump administration did nothing for Covid just adds to the credibility that he is feeble minded. Same with Harris.

Remember that the vaccine you just got is a result of Trump’s ability to organize. The only thing that could be worse than the States distributing the vaccine is getting the Feds involved, it has done nothing but get worse since Biden got involved.

The Bible and the Constitution form the spiritual basis for good and evil in this country. By every definition, the evil of power has taken over the country. Evil is the basis of the Leftist takeover of the government, drugs, human trafficking, wokeism, totalitarianism are in their prime directive.

The real fools are the people that think that the Democrats give one damn about them. The people rejected a man that gave them an economy in which all boats rose higher. He did more good for everyone in this country, regardless of ethnicity.

The very stupid people, especially minorities, that bought all the Deep States lies, are now going to pay the price for their stupidity.

The same stupid people that have bought the huge power grab that the Feb. 6 “riot” is affording the damn Dems in Congress.

Power of the Leftist elite is what everything in DC is aimed at right now. Anyone supporting the Left right now are evil and are participating in the destruction of the good side of America.

The Hebrews asked for a King because they were losing to the war against the foreign European barbarians and their raids on the Judean hill country.

The Philistines had Iron weapons and the Hebrews did not. King David changed that when he learned how to smelt iron while he stayed at the Philistines’ camps.

The Hebrews thought a King would unify military command and better the army. It did. But that’s not why the Hebrews stopped the invading barbarians.

She asked me to proof an application letter to get into a graduate criminal justice program. Aside from the grammar, spelling, and even syntax issues, she told some stories to demonstrate how she has an investigative mind.

Stories included how she could always tell if coworkers at our office didn’t wash their hands after using the bathroom. There was also a long section on the injustice in the “John Benet Ramsey” trial, and how if she headed up the DOJ, she would “rule with an iron fist” and hire only the finest public servants who would act like modern “batmans without the cape and cowl.”

If it were you, GA, I’d say “Gid me some of that delicious haggis”

Amazon sells canned haggis. Have you ever had it canned? Would you recommend canned haggis? I feel that once before I die I must eat haggis and it’s not exactly on the menu at local restaurants.

          • GreenAlba February 23, 2021 at 10:45 am #

I had a very different post prepared for you, with both a helpful recipe (not for the actual haggis) and an anecdote about an author from Maine (wouldn’t want to disappoint). But I’ve had to delete it, because a bit of research led me both to the cans you mention on Amazon and to an article which explains, among other things, why you won’t find proper haggis in the US.

I would’t bother with the cans myself – they’re just not haggis. And I hope you won’t mind me saying that, given some of the things Americans eat (not just Americans, of course) and some of the things I’ve read about American meat processing plants, I think the reason why you can’t get it is a bit precious. But it is your prerogative!

So, it looks like if you want to brave the genuine dish, you’re just going to have to come here and get it. You and Mrs hm would be cordially invited to try my haggis-stuffed chicken thighs at your convenience. 🙂 The traditional recipe is of course haggis, neeps and tatties, but everything is ‘fusion’ these days and I hate turnip, although I’d oblige if that’s what you wanted.

In my humble opinion, if you’re only going to have it once, it has to be MacSweens (of Edinburgh).

PS we had a conversation not long ago about insects, which, as I said, will never be on my personal menu.

Coincidentally, Singapore-but-not-for-much-longer-daughter sent me a clip last night that she’d video’d of a giant grasshopper. I joked that some people eat them and she said yes, she’d had some in Vietnam and they were really tasty.

Kind of off topic, the two weeks is now two years and two masks.

Not to say I told you so but I did say way back when this started, that I recognized the game plan from when a number of states decided to try to force the CDC’s goal (and Obamacare requirement) of mandatory influenza vaccinations on hospital and other health care workers.

The coercion used against those who resisted was to make them where a face mask for their entire shift.

Nurses were going to court and winning because it was established fact that surgical masks did not prevent the transmission of contagious diseases. That’s why it said that on the box, duh.

Also wearing a mask at too long a stretch is harmful to the wearer. It also cautions against ‘continuous wear’ on packaging for some masks.

What they did was wait a while until people forgot, and then bring the whole mask or vaccine plot back, but this time with a super duper virus that behaves like no other before, according to their model, leaving out the part that models aren’t science, never were, and never will be.

What scared people really bad, in NYC anyway, is the initial really high death numbers.

They forgot to mention that those were induced deaths due to some politician with a pea-sized brain and sociopathic tendencies insisting agains all reason that sick people had to go back into nursing homes.

So many people are on to this by now, that we see the NYT cautioning us against thinking for ourselves.

I guess this isn’t off topic, because some of the worst offenders at carrying along the bogus COVID narrative are people who really do think they are superior in every way to those who did not attend the “right” schools.

They can’t possibly fathom that they could be so easily duped.

    • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 11:24 am #

The fascination with opposing the mitigation efforts with Covid is obvious on the blog.

A year from now, Covid avoidance will be an annual shot, just like the flu vaccine. Your 99.7% data point is easily matched by the 1-2% side effect rate of the current vaccines.

I would much rather have a sore arm and a headache for 24 hours that put up with a damn illness for multiple weeks. I hope that a logical sequence of vaccine control can be figured out.

Without a virus killing agent, we are condemned to putting up with the risk of a miserable month a year as the viruses visit us. I will take a vaccine any day.

      • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 11:27 am #

        1-2% serious side effect rate

        • sophia February 23, 2021 at 7:27 pm #

1-2% serious side effects for younger, healthy people is way too high. There have been many deaths and issues like convulsions. And covid is treatable anyway.

      • tlauria February 22, 2021 at 11:32 am #

        It’s not a vaccine, it’s gene therapy.

        • AKlein February 22, 2021 at 12:32 pm #

The Pfizer and Moderna injections are genetic modification agents. It remains to be seen whether these injections constitute “therapy”, assuming that the term “therapy” implies an ultimately beneficial outcome. Personally, I believe that there are vaccines that work, i.e. are beneficial to large majority of those injected. That said, it’s important to consider that none of the potions being offered up as effective agents have been subjected to the rigorous testing that would be required if we were not in a declared “emergency”. Seems to me that a bit of caution is reasonable and eminently defensible.

          • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 12:42 pm #

And remember, our vaccines today are a far cry from the originals, full of adjuvants (enhancers) like mercury. If you told the creators of vaccines that you were going to do this, and then give small children a whole regimen of these, they probably would have been appalled.

“You cannot diagnose a thing [with something] that cannot diagnose a thing,” Martin says. “That a misrepresentation. That is a deceptive practice under the Federal Trade Commission Act. And they’re liable for deceptive practices.”

      • Beryl of Oyl February 22, 2021 at 11:38 am #

Mitigation would be safe and effective treatment.

I am not opposing that, I am opposing the efforts to squelch giving people the help we have right now, to prevent needless suffering.

The “vaccine” can’t stop you from getting the virus, or transmitting it.

That’s why they are telling us we have to run around in a diaper even after being vaccinated.

Those vaccines are illegal if there is treatment. There is treatment.

I sense a resurgent interest in the Death Wish movie series, starring Charles Bronson.

BTW, even back in 1974, when the original Death Wish came out, the writers had to alter the script because of Political Correctness. They wrote the initial subway terrorists as two Blacks. They became Hispanics in the final version. (Apparently, Hispanics hadn’t been included in the “no sin among this race” grouping yet.)

We started wearing masks about 3 years ago during the start of the flu season, and YES it worked. Our own Infectious disease dept showed us the numbers and we saw the results first hand. That Malthuss posts comments based on this monster’s ravings shows that Malthuss is a vicious anti-Semitic monster himself. Why JHK allows him to post here at all is a testament to Jim’s belief in freedom of speech. I, myself, would have kicked his ass out of here a long time ago.

I’ve yet to see single blog entry by James addressing the prevalent racist antisemitism in the US and on his blog. It’s like it doesn’t exist.

It’s a Vatican propaganda double standard imposed on American Yids by the Vatican mafia. An overwhelming psychological hammer meant to erase American Jewish identity and make them complicit in their own destruction by way of embarrassment in being Jewish.

      • messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 11:40 am #

The double-standard is holding up your badge to arrest speech.

        • beantownbill. February 22, 2021 at 12:55 pm #

Speaking of double standards, why are commenters here saying that the media is indoctrinating the American public into believing incorrect political propaganda and should be stopped; yet when one commenter posts incorrect anti-Jewish propaganda, you say it’s ok? To me, it appears you really have an anti-Jewish bias.

          • Tate February 22, 2021 at 2:42 pm #

Typical. The commenters you are referring to are saying let’s have open debate without suppression of dissenting voices. Yet you twist that to claim they are saying “the media is indoctrinating the American public into believing incorrect political propaganda and should be stopped.” Folks, examine “stopped.” Its actual meaning is “let’s have open debate.” C’mon man!

I for one don’t care what the clownish “media” voices are saying as long as dissenting voices are allowed. Notice how many comment sections have been shut down the last few years? When We the People say certain things the Corporate media don’t like, they simply cancel us. Which is worse, the explicit CCP social credit system or our own informal one? Ours is just as effective as theirs if not more so.

Akmo: There are no brothels in Tel Aviv

I google “Brothels of Tel Aviv. I get 620,000 results and this blurb at the top:

In the present, there are around 300 brothels in Tel Aviv. These streets are crowded with sex bars, sex shops and sex parlors. The old central bus station area (also called Neveh Sha’anan) is the red light district of Tel Aviv. Over the years, it became mostly populated with foreign and illegal workers.

Yoho: Tel Aviv has long been a center for human trafficking, mostly poor Slavic girls tricked and forced into sexual slavery. Apparently Israel is cracking down on at least some aspects of this horror. ‘Bout time.

        • tresho February 22, 2021 at 3:11 pm #

“Antibodies are signs of battle.” There is far more to immunity than antibodies.

          • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 8:32 pm #

Residual immunity has nothing to do with antibodies. Antibodies and killer Ts kill body cells too so they are torn down once the infection is over. Memory Bs and Ts are the immunity.

The whole deal with antibodies is a crock.

However, short term testing will detect the history of a disease. We have had very little after testing to see if herd immunity is approaching and that the majority of Covid cases are asymptomatic.

For example, how can the PTB say that kids do not get Covid or pass it along when they have not even checked them. Kids are asymptomatic and IMHO, are the primary cause of the third big surge. If we understand this, inoculate the adults in school, or let them get the crud, their choice and open the schools, now.

The commonsense idea of if you feel sick, you are sick and you can spread is the correct one. You’re lost in the maze, always finding illusory exits that lead you deeper in.

HIV is part of the vaccine and some people are positive after getting the shot.

They’re still talking about Trump’s tax returns?

Trump has been audited every year since 1981, and in 2016 turned in a 98 page report to the Treasurey dept detailing every aspect of his finances before he ran for president.

But enough about Trump’s finances. Let’s have a look at Biden’s finances. For example, who exactly paid for Biden’s private Island in the Caribbean? We know it was lobbyists, but which lobbyists? And how much $$$ was kicked up to the BIG GUY in deals with China Intel, Ukraine, the Moscow mayors office and Kazakhstan turned by Hunter.

Trump also spent 2 years being investigated by a team of rabid Uniparty lawyers looking to impeach and ultimately jail him. Those lawyers had an unlimited purview, and behind the decrepit figurehead of Robert Mueller, were headed up by one of the most dishonest practitioners of the law in US history.

What did they find on Trump?

          • akmofo February 23, 2021 at 10:39 am #

They achieved their purpose. Trump is now completely gun shy. There’s no way he is going to contemplate another presidential run or allow any of his family members to do so.

“a wobbling civilization, plagued by failure of economy and politics”

You would never know that if you lived in this town of 24,000, 20 miles outside the black hole that is Hartford. A new HS has been proposed, pricetag: $250 million. There is a referendum on the matter scheduled for June; proponents have hired a top PR firm to convince the rubes out here that this is a good and necessary measure. The old HS is a classic building constructed in the 1920s and refurbished a few years ago. Opponents are already being classified as backward looking tightwads who don’t value education, and are probably racistTrump supporters who don’t believe in ‘the science.’ The truth is this town isn’t as wealthy as it used to be and increased property taxes to pay for this extravanganza will force many people out of here.

One gets the feeling economic realities no longer carry any weight, and delusional thinking dominates the well intentioned megelamaniacs running the show here.

      • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 1:12 pm #

It all started with the lie of human equality – which the Elite themselves didn’t believe. Then the mandate that since all were equal, they all had an equal right to an education. Obviously since all aren’t equal, this had to dumb everything down. But ok, we still had college for the true cognitive elite. But then they got greedy, bought the lie, and let in everyone. Just another business! Now almost nothing is left. The Wasteland of T.S Elliot. We do not dare to eat a peach or tell the Empress that she has no clothes and that she is Ugly as fuck.

        • rube-i-con February 22, 2021 at 3:53 pm #

you are Right in that the Elite don~t believe any of the garbage they serve as mind-food to the masses via politicians and their slave media

it serves their evil puposes to keep the population at war mentally and to make people sick

the people fight over idiocy such as racial healing…what happens? speech is banned, and odious taxation (reparations coming…) is levied, whilst enslaving large groups (liberals and blacks) into keeping the Elite in power through vote allegiance

who benefits? the politicians who funnel trillions into the coffers of the elite via the media, which then supports those politicians and their insange agendas (transxxxxxism)

          and the cycle never ends

notice the left is ALL about dependency on government, while Trump conservatives are all about freedom

          • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 4:29 pm #

And that “freedom” is how the slavery is enacted. Nature and Politics abhor a vacuum. You would end being ruled the Corporations directly instead of indirectly as previously. Well, the charade is coming to an end now in any case, via the low road of Leftism. You would have taken the high road. No matter – same destination.

You want a stick with only one end. Reality is round, friend. You want more and better? Than embrace human hierarchy as per Fascism and National Socialism. The middle of the straight left/right line is very much different than the high middle of the Third Way.

I am not required to kneel in front of them or mouth apologies for supposed sins I never committed or evil intent I do not harbor.

Gandhi, who understood the power of simple truth, said it best:

“One gets the feeling economic realities no longer carry any weight” I figure it is more than “One”, with the momentous number still waiting to be reached.

It’s not the timing of the return of economic reality, something which proves elusive. It is the certainty of history which predicts it will return. It could be quite abrupt and disruptive.

Prudent preparation is a good idea.

  31. messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm #

Yohannon said, “The Old Testament must be our Constitution!”

A testament [ contract ] is based on law. The OT doesn’t work because it depends on our perseverance. The NT depends on the Creator’s promise to accomplish His own will. He has maximum perseverance.

“This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”

    • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 1:24 pm #

Good. We’re back to the Constitution. Do you have your mind right, now?

And yes, I agree: It is only meant for a moral, Christian people of European descent. The “a” important. Not people but a People. Christians from other places will cause problems. And of course Adams had his fingers crossed when he wrote that, since many of the Founders were not simple believers, or believers at all. He wrote for the People. This is appropriate. The People need religion to be good, a good one, like Christianity. Buddhism or Hinduism can also maintain a civilization, but not in the same nation as Christianity. Nor did they foster the kind of individual rights that Christianity allowed for, but again that only developed among the peoples of Western Europe.

      • messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 1:49 pm #

“Do you have your mind right, now?”

        How would you know?

I can say, “Yes!” all day long, and you might believe [ by-live ] it as well. Doesn’t mean a thing. A wrong mind examining another wrong mind doesnt make a right mind.

        • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 1:55 pm #

In other words, if Truth exists, we’ll never know because we’re flawed. You exclaim, That’s why we have the Bible! But how do you know that the Bible is “the Bible” or the real word of God? Because it says so? Circular logic.

Face it, we are our own Authority. We must listen to the God within to know where to find Wisdom from others or from books, deciding which book is inspired and which is not. Which is what the Church Fathers did. Sorry if you didn’t know that. Time to grow up, eh?

          • messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 4:09 pm #

“We must listen to the God within…”

It is possible to make an idol of the Godhead.

Your comical assumptions of my ignorance rarely surprise me anymore.

          • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 4:31 pm #

I’m talking direct experience. You don’t think that it’s possible. I know that it is. Thus YOU make an idol of the scriptures and of Moses, Jacob, etc.

          • sevensec February 22, 2021 at 5:27 pm #

            It’s the return of revelation.

But what do I even mean, “return”? How could it ever have left? Deduction is a decent little robot, if you give it a good push in the right direction to get it marching. But you have to already *know* the right direction–the axioms, the rules of inference.

Induction, the great Faustian bargain of science, started the downward slide to chaos. It has now ceded the field to full-blown relativism.

My only lingering question: what if *my* revelation contradicts yours? Rock, paper, scissors at dawn, perhaps?

We do have to resolve that somehow, else the proliferating claims of revelation start to look dangerously like saying “my truth”.

          • messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 5:43 pm #

Yohannon said, “You don’t think that it’s possible.”

That is a wrong idea. I get very tired of correcting your ASSumptions.

Quit trying to assume you know what I think.

          • messianicdruid February 22, 2021 at 5:56 pm #

sevensec asked, “what if *my* revelation contradicts yours?”

One or both could change their mind [ repent ]. Probably both. Most just live with it.

          • Yohannon February 22, 2021 at 7:54 pm #

You wouldn’t be so completely fixated on the Bible – and only the Bible – if you thought God still talked to men who were willing to be still and look within. You think the Truth is there, outside yourself, within the pages of one Scripture and nowhere else.

          • sophia February 23, 2021 at 8:15 pm #

Right you are but only those who know that understand. Those who know, know who they are.

          • sophia February 23, 2021 at 8:26 pm #

No, Messianic, it is not possible to make an idol of the God within. There is the living God and there is scripture. There is the moon and there is a finger pointing at the moon.

My advice – and it is the same for everyone – is pray for the Holy Spirit to come to you. The Holy Spirit, the true key to Christianity, the quickener, the truth, the freedom, the love, the healing of blindness. You know the song Amazing Grace is about the before and after of a visitation of the Holy Spirit.

Without it, one’s Christianity is not complete. Why do you think Jesus said what he said?

  32. Slugoon February 22, 2021 at 1:13 pm #

“All it really accomplishes is to generate more racial animosity while it paints people-of-color as not having the personal wherewithal to get on in their lives without extra-special assistance from people not of color.”

The whole situation summed up in one neat sentence.

None of this BLM-themed nonsense will make an iota of difference to an actual racist but treat every white person as a white supremacist and plenty of people will start acting like one.

It doesn’t matter how much affirmative action is doled out or how much begging, grovelling and kneeling white people do. A permanent inferiority complex requires a permanent state of victimhood for cover.

Certainly possible that’s what she did – consciously found a way to cash in on her perceived victimhood.

We compete with the Chinese for the hearts and minds of the blacks of Africa. Regrettably though we have a history of colonialism there which did not build anything but railroads to ferry troops in and resources out, very few railroads at that.

The Chinese on the other hand do not have such a history and when they go in they actually build something.

This is a problem as Africa is now becoming a market rather than only a resource bag. Therefore we must improve our image and the woke conviction is the new paint on the same substructure.

It is of course completely inauthentic an mendacious. A bit like Al Gore’s concern with CO2 weighing on him in every single on of his 35 rooms of his castle as well as the indoor tennis court and movie theater.

They continued to provide arms so the Mozambicans could fight themselves (1977 – 1992). In return the grateful Mozambicans gave the Chinese extensive fishing rights off the coast. The coast of Mozambique is littered with the skeletons of industrial fishing vessels rusting into the sand. Fishing is now conducted via dugout canoe. Progress!

I went to college in the sixties and Recall the campus ferment at the time when we boomers rebelled against the prevailing pedagogical orthodoxy of the time, that colleges were supposed to act “in loco parentis” and that dept. heads and faculty were presumed to know best what courses of study produced the best outcome for students. The private liberal arts college I attended has no coed dorms and intersex visitation in dorm rooms was subject to restrictions if your girlfriend got caught spending the night with you, you were both kicked out. That policy ended by the time I was a senior in1969. Of course the other thing we boomers pushed for and ultimately won on was the switch from faculty defined curricula to student defined curricula. Once that took hold the doom of higher education was assured just as certainly as would be the case if the Marines operational control were ceded to jar heads straight out of bootcamp. Now the kids are in charge and of course that lead to infantilization on a mass scale and that explains the delusional and destructive phenomenon of wokesterism. Any adult who takes the stage is shouted down and driven out….Everywhere and in all walks of life. It makes sense now that we worship the negroes and their dysfunctional grievance driven “culture” and other people whose primary drivers are a form of truculent resentment and a sense the world owes them a living.

Warning given but no specifics. Johnny Cash once sang to the muppets in front of the Confederate Flag. Could that be it? Or did one of them once wear a sombrero without being a bona fide Mexican Muppet?

Apparently quite a few Texicanos (Texans with Spanish heritage) enlisted in Texas regiments and served with the Confederate army 1861-1865.

      • tresho February 22, 2021 at 3:25 pm #

“enlisted in Texas regiments ” Did they have a choice? The Confederacy instituted a draft in 1862.

One common denominator that tied or unified Americans together was “dreaming” as implied by the term “The American Dream.” MLK dreamed and I like to think that Lincoln did on some level in his time. There is more I would like to say but it seems a mysterious topic – inexpressible in either black OR white.

    • Tate February 22, 2021 at 3:06 pm #

No one would attack the American Dream. It’s one of those tropes that engage the imagination, a lot of positive emotions have flowed from it. It’s big enough that people make of it whatever they will so it can be co-opted for any purpose. Dream researchers have recently discovered that they can engage in dialog with a dreamer under controlled conditions. It’s been claimed that deep sleepers are more suggestible. What does that suggest for our future?

      • tresho February 22, 2021 at 3:35 pm #

“It’s been claimed that deep sleepers are more suggestible. What does that suggest for our future?” Judging from the past, not much difference. Taking advantage of the suggestibility of the average human is big business.

        • Blackbird February 22, 2021 at 6:29 pm #

Jaz, the state you refer to is known as hypnagogia, that hazy and confusing no-mans-land between consciousness and the dreamworld. Emmanuel Swedenborg developed a whole “Heavenly Doctrine” based on his explorations of that shadowy realm. Should you choose to follow him into the twilight zone – or chart your own path – I’d advise you step carefully.

          • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 8:19 pm #

The subconscious mind is a fascinating place. Dreams come from who knows where. Poe used to write down his alcohol soaked dreams. One of the best is Lew Wallace, who wrote down one of his vivid dreams, which was Ben -Hur.

            Makes one wonder about reincarnation.

Then there is Bridey Murphy. Is the hypnotic state of recall the dreamstate? Lots to think about.

        • SpeedyBB February 23, 2021 at 10:34 pm #

The best description of active dreaming I’ve ever come across is in the works of Carlos Castaneda.

I saw a chart yesterday. Pretty well nailed that it was the frozen wind turbines that caused the outages.

    • SW February 22, 2021 at 3:14 pm #

And there was no reason for the wind turbines to freeze either. They can be constructed with a heating system to avoid that — like they do in Norway and other places that get really cold. Places in Austin were without power for 5 days.

      • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 5:51 pm #

Was the freeze up caused by the lubricants congealing in the cold. What would be the cost of having a heating unit in every windmill? Would they even be worth the extra heating cost? Especially for a once every twenty year storm.

The way the grid works, if a generator goes off line they shift the load difference to the other generators. If too many go down, they cannot supply the full load so they do the rolling blackouts to cut power by say 10%. If they cannot stabilize with that, the whole shooting match goes down.

Nuclear, any other alternative is pissing into the wind. With a good base of nuclear, the other renewable types could fill in for high load conditions, that is all they are good for.

If China follows through on its cutting off rare earths, batteries are going to get awful expensive. That in itself could stifle renewables.

We need to mine our own rare earths. I hope Biden realizes that China is no friend of this country.

        • Tate February 22, 2021 at 6:01 pm #

    • Night Owl February 22, 2021 at 4:48 pm #

Not only. I posted the DOE doc last week, showing that the DOE did not allow Texas to ramp up production to meet the forecasted demand.

There are emissions restrictions that were enforced, which prevented ramp-up. Furthermore, they could only import power at an approx. 6000 percent price increase.

Absurd in an emergency, but it appears to have been political again.

      • JohnAZ February 22, 2021 at 5:53 pm #

        • Night Owl February 23, 2021 at 3:58 am #

As I understand it, the emissions limits could have been lifted temporarily, but Biden’s DOE refused.

This comes not long after Texas publicly told Biden to stuff it.

It was a political act for use in the McMedia grist mill.

Well, if everyone won’t repent of the sins their ancestors committed (even though most people didn’t own slaves) you can at least solve the pandemic with reparations to the tune of $250K. A study from no less an institute as austere as Harvard is making this claim.

“A team of elite medical researchers produced cutting-edge research with a surprising conclusion. To defeat coronavirus, America didn’t need a vaccine. It just had to pay every black person in the country $250,000.

This remarkable finding comes from the intrepid minds of Harvard Medical School. In their paper, 11 elite health professionals claim that reparations for slavery would have radically reduced US infection and death rate from coronavirus.”

    Here’s the link:

People who just “go with the flow” are mimicking the exact same pathway as all objects that are placed into a latrine. Perhaps they share other characteristics with those very objects as well?

“It must be self-evident to many of the people caught up in this mob madness that the Woke crusade is dishonest, stupid, cruel, and evil.”

We as a society have come a long way, haven’t we. We went from demonizing a certain race and culture (or two or three) for a few hundred years, and the enlightened answer arrived at today by the Woked up crowd is to simply demonize a different race and culture going forward. Bottom line? True equality of races is apparently off the table and not an option for the Wokers. The path forward is simply to replace one demonized race with another. How Woke!

Arguing about the legality of the Bible and the Constitution is meaningless.

A three thousand line of human beings derived the Bible, some parts legends and some parts actual content with God. The arrival of Jesus wrapped it all up, it is a directory to humans of the definition of goodness, law and order per divine definition. Jesus stated it well, total devotion to God and what He stands for and the Golden Rule. If people would stick to that, we would return to Eden.

However Man being what he is, there was no way.

During the Crusades, the Knights Templar tried to bring some biblical tenets into the knighthood. The evilness of the Pope and the French king ended their existence on Friday the 13th. Yeah, just like Star Wars. The last Knight, a guy named Demolay was executed on that Friday. However, their credo survived and became the guidelines for the Masons. Builders of cathedrals became the Order of Masons. This credo formed a lot, with interpretation by John Locke of natural law that formed the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

The FF were inspired by a credo that ties back thousands of years to the Bible. The bases of both are from the same source

    • Tekapo February 22, 2021 at 11:23 pm #

“The FF were inspired by a credo that ties back thousands of years to the Bible. The bases of both are from the same source God.”

Perhaps they were – but a lot of them were not “religious” in any conventional sense. The Constitution does not use the word “God” at all – it is a very secular document.

The FF were leery about the oppressive role of institutional religion in the affairs of society and the state – they knew about a thousand years of mayhem in Europe.

They provided for freedom of religion, but in the same article, also included freedom from religion.

“No mention of the Texas debacle? I thought this would be fertile ground for you, James. Energy self-sufficiency and all…” tom clark

tom clark grumbling to JHK about what topics he should be covering. Again.

Here’s the link between the University Wokery and the Texas fuckery: universities used to be about dispassionate, objective thinking. Thinking which started with the “I don’t know” approach (which is also the correct spiritual approach). Then: observation, testing, preliminary conclusions, further testing, corroboration, intense scrutiny, (perhaps then) codification and reasonable antithesis, and further clarification based on open-ended questions as circumstances warrant.

IOW, a scientific approach married to one of moral integrity.

The problem of solving, or even mitigating, energy depletion and collapse is only going to get more difficult once the Woke Red Guards have completely infiltrated the hard sciences (as they’re already making headway on) since they’ve now finished off the liberal Arts.

  50. Soul Forensics February 22, 2021 at 6:52 pm #

Intellectuals, especially post WWI, have overwhelmingly been Marxist apologists, even cheerleaders. Continental Europe has a long line of philosophical and historical thinkers who mocked and crucified the petite (“petty”) bourgeoisie.

One sees this contemporaneously with the intellectual elite’s attitude towards the “deplorables”, who, contrary to the standard “redneck” or “trailer trash” putdowns (which depict, in Marxist terms, the lumpenproletariat, not the petite bourgeoisie), are really their own fears of those of the middle-class rising up against them by seeing through the steaming pile of poo.

It’s a very interesting dynamic, and one that certainly must be shifting. The naive and idiotic Rick Wilsons of the boob tube — goaded on by the Don Lemons — used to love laughing at the rubes. But even they must realize by now that the larger segment of the used and abused are smarter than they at first thought. Hence, the Woke’s desire to further dumb down the university curricula, and the means by which it’s disseminated. Free tuition, the cancelling of traditional courses, their replacement by racial and gender horseshit, and replacing traditional pedagogy by an advocacy model by which that horseshit is fostered.

Critical Race Theory is just the latest theoretical model which exploits this, updated for the very specific goals the globalists have in store for us.

Get ’em young and warp ’em, before they can think for themselves. In another generation, the schools won’t even have to try. Parents will be preaching Wokery to their unfortunate charges before they hit kindergarten (as is happening on the margins right now).

“Critical Race Theory is just the latest theoretical model which exploits this, updated for the very specific goals the globalists have in store for us.”

Critical Race Theory has been around for quite a while (since the 1980s), and like its cousins in feminism, media, literature, language, philosophy, and other social areas – it grew out of critical (radical) thinking about social structures that was occurring in much of the world around that time.

I’m not sure that makes it a global or globalist phenomenon.

And get your finances straight- debt free and a one year or longer cushion. One way large complex organizations avoid the labor laws is by reorganizing to eliminate your position so they aren’t firing you. They can also decide to outsource your position- again they aren’t firing you. Then they tell you you are free to apply for any other open position in the organization. In a high unemployment environment there will always be someone “more qualified” than you for any open position.

” And you are right about the lack of a level playing field. It’s why I mentioned the leg up from the grammar school system, as well as the advantages of having professional parents like yours. ”

And I might say that is an absolutely typical meritocracy dodge.

    And , amusingly , a typical Marxist – Leninist , Dialectical Materialist , dodge.

    That is , the formula ;

    Money / status ( automatically ) = privilege / power.

Not necessarily so , or not at all so.

For example , take the ( apparent ) biography of my favorite Hollywood actress , Jena Malone .

( actually I can think of only two pieces of work she has been in that I liked , and even in those cases the liking is tepid.

But , dare I say , ” Like ” can come down to the shearly superficial and arbitrary.

She was in a piece where she played Geli Raubal , and the subject of the piece was apparently the pertinent relationship on which is based Geli Raubal’s 15 minutes of fame.

I might find that interesting ?

But , I have never seen that. )

    Basic story ;

Native of Nevada . Dirt poor. At around 8 years old , Jena Malone got the bright idea that she wanted to be a movie star , and convinced her mother to move to California and Hollywood for that purpose.

    Apparent / supposed story :

Jena Malone’s mother was a hopeless Junkie . And as is common with Junkies , she owed some substantial amount of money to people in Nevada , so she wanted to get the Hell out of Dodge anyway.

And while Jena Malone’s mother spent her days in Lah – Lah Land , little Jena rode the municipal bus for 50 cents to auditions.

Soo , a true Horatio Alger story of a person , by shear will and industry , overcoming terrible adversity.

    Eh , I think not , actually.

It seems to me that for a ten year old to be able to call her own shots , or to lead an adult around by the nose ,

could , at least conceivably , be as great an advantage as if she had a million dollars to work with.

Now I used a rather prominent example , but it appears to me that I might have seen the same sort of thing commonly enough in ordinary life otherwise , far from Hollywood.

I have , it seems to me , seen people at least temporarily living in trailer parks , no talent , and no character either , who yet had every possible advantage.

And I have seen people in Country Club territory for whom , it seemed to me , the only difference between their abode and prison , was that it was albeit a bit more comfortable.

As I have said before , I came to America when I was ten. Another important thing that happened that year was that my younger sister was born.

In the dictionary , under the term , ” Career Girl ” there should be a picture of my mother .

    All women are maternal ?

Surely , there is more than one reason why I never married.

But , surely , one reason is because , as far as motherhood at least is concerned , I had already been there and done that.

So the whole marriage thing represented to me roughly what it might represent to a 30 year old the prospect of returning to Kindergarten to do that whole thing over again.

Within weeks of my sister being born , babysitting an infant was my 8 hour job on a school day , and my 16 hour a day job on weekends.

It wasn’t so terrible actually .

    — Until the day came that my younger sister realized I was not her mother , but only and merely her sister.

Now it is a mountain of responsibility , but with zero authority.

    On a personal note ,

My sister and I are estranged to this day. Not , actually , because she cannot get over it , but because I cannot. If she called , I wouldn’t answer.

And it seems to me that on that score , I repeatedly and incessantly have a falling out with both Left – Wingers and Right – Wingers , because where responsibility is invariably exalted , habitually , not a word is said about authority.

I certainly do resent the insinuation that I should have tried harder in school.

    I did try harder.

I didn’t read Paradise Lost when I was 13 because it was assigned.

And reading , ” All Quiet on the Western Front ” , and , ” The Diary of Anne Frank ” wasn’t play time.

It broke my fucking heart to read those. I dare say I have never seen , heard , or read things more terrible , and I was 13.

In the first case , I love the German Army , abstraction though it is , to a degree and with an intensity that I don’t think any words can express.

In the second case , I think Christ was absolutely right that a crime of the heart can be the equal or superior of a crime of the hand.
You could say that who killed Anne Frank was me. Not because I was a National Socialist , or German. And obviously I wasn’t even around then.

But because , well, the things you will do for love.

Meanwhile , you sons of bitches seem to excuse yourselves everything and anything.

It seems to me that what I really resent is the implication that I have to defend anything.

Like , the above information , for example , might make my parents look bad ?

    I don’t think so.

And I might ask you to consider that a great many of the people who rode off to Custer’s Last Stand , a mere ten years previously had rode off presumably to liberate slaves.

But it doesn’t seem to the Whackjob that they were there to liberate the Sioux.

Of course it wouldn’t surprise me if you didn’t stand by Custer.

The enlightened understanding now of patriotism , or of love , is a moving of the goal posts about two minutes.

        I wouldn’t have your regard.

You are the gosling who bonded with the orange beach ball. You love the goose stepping, but you hate the Nazism from which it sprang. East Germany had all the bad aspects of Nazism without the high idealism and vision. But you love it and hate Nazism. How very Kesian. Human? Yeah, sure, but a lot of people can do a bit better than that. And not hate their little sister forever because she realized that they weren’t their mother.

But yeah, that was a lot of babysitting for a young girl. I could see how that might turn you off to the whole thing. Traditionally, older children help mind the younger ones, but everybody is together on the same few acres doing this and that. That’s a very different thing than being left along for 16 hours in an empty apartment with a little sibling.

Is “Critical Race Theory” taught in American university History Departments basically as follows:

“Throughout History White People have had it really good and that just because they are white White People’s lives have been a big bowl of cherries. And in contrast the other non-White people have been oppressed by the White people whose cherries have all been provided by the oppression of black people”?

Is this the narrative taught now to students?

    • Tekapo February 23, 2021 at 1:37 am #

May I offer a somewhat more nuanced reading:

For a lot of reasons – mostly to do with geography (and the spread of civilizations between say Iran and Portugal), white Europeans developed the most technically advanced societies, starting with the Greeks and Romans, and moving on from there. This is why Christopher Columbus could successfully sail to the Caribbean, while Native Americans and indeed Africans did not sail to Spain. The same applied to the South Atlantic and the Pacific.

The Chinese and India also developed advanced societies a long time ago – however they were much more closed, and did not become great seafaring or colonial powers – although they could have.

The United States was founded by those white Europeans, and through good fortune they could exploit a huge and bountiful new continent, and many of them (and their descendants) grew rich or at least comfortable.

However part of that success was based on slavery, and it was a cruel and inhuman system. In the 158 years since the end of slavery there have been advances but they have not led to equal wealth, or lives, or opportunities for the descendants of those slaves (and other minorities who arrived here via different paths).

Whatever the reason, white Americans have almost all the wealth and all the powerful positions in society and the economy. While no-one needs to slash their wrists over this, there is a responsibility on the white sector to recognize that they have had significant advantages that were established well before they were born. Don’t take too much personal credit.

Always check your privilege in all interactions and transactions – you are not in the better position primarily because of your own endeavors – you inherited most of them. Don’t blame the victims, and don’t be racist. Be supportive and listen to black leaders and the black community. They do not want you dead, they just want a bigger slice of the pie. Class dismissed … have a nice day.

      • Pucker February 23, 2021 at 2:03 am #

The problem is that your analysis is fundamentally specious since you equate the very small Capitalist ownership class with all “White People”. For example, you’re putting impoverished Appalachian hillbillies (who hated and resented the Southern plantation owners who were breeding with the African slaves and thereby creating the American negro) who supported the Union against the Confederacy in the same boat as the Southern Plantation owners. Also, you’re putting the slave owning Mulatto class (the “Obama’s) of San Dominique (Haiti) and New Orleans in the same boat as the enslaved Africans.

It’s not “White People” who benefited, but an Ownership Class that was largely white, but was also Mulatto. It’s got nothing to do with race, but everything to do with power, interests, and money which transcend Race. It’s about Class, not Race. You’re analysis is specious and dishonest.

        • Tekapo February 23, 2021 at 2:14 am #

“It’s not “White People” who benefited, but an Ownership Class that was largely white, but was also Mulatto. Of course it’s about class (and I agree there is the 1% ownership class) … but look who occupies those classes. Citing the “Hillbillies” of the Appalachians is quite specious and dishonest in my view. Lets look at almost all suburbia – if not Martha’s Vineyard!

The vast majority of households in the country that earn more than say $100K are White European … this is not contentious.

Being white in the country is a really big determinant of your life chances and choices, and how well-off you are, notwithstanding the gouging of the “middle class” over the past two decades or so – as JHK has described.

          • Pucker February 23, 2021 at 2:29 am #

I think that the wealthiest ethnic group in the US is the ethnic Japanese. I suspect that other Asian ethnic groups also outperform ethnic whites? Also, I suspect that the Mulattoes, like the Obama’s, may outperform whites?

          • Pucker February 23, 2021 at 2:35 am #

It’s either about Race, or it’s about “Class”. It can’t be both since if it’s about a very small minority class, then this small minority class is exploiting the white majority.

          • Tekapo February 23, 2021 at 3:44 am #

“It’s either about Race, or it’s about “Class”. It can’t be both …”

Of course it can – if most of the elite ruling class are of the white variety, ten we have a very high correlation between class and race.

I actually don’t disagree that the country is very much riddled with class warfare, but I can’t see the reason to downplay race in all of that.

Surely the white working-middle class has a huge amount of interest in common with the black/minority working-middle class – for the white middle class to be racists and heap shit on the blacks and other minorities is exactly what the ruling class want.

They want the lower orders to fight among themselves, and not see who the real enemy is. Yohannon on this forum is exactly that type – duped into believing that race is everything, when any Marxist can tell you that class is everything. But Yoho has the blinkers on.

          • JohnAZ February 23, 2021 at 10:06 am #

Being White in this country is an advantage because their are more Whites and the culture is White European. Why can’t the Black assimilate into the culture instead of fighting it constantly. They have no right to challenge the common culture.

Are they, as Yohannon states, too dumb to fit in and only operate out of their emotions and loins.

The Blacks that adapt and are successful, and there are many of them, are disparaged by their “brothers” as Uncle Toms.

            Just keep losing!!

          • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 1:04 pm #

So you admit that when Blacks savage poor Whites, they should have the book thrown at them?

The other day a Black who pushed a White woman in front of a bus in the UK was released “since she had never done anything like that before”.

You hate poor Whites because they get in the way of that which you love the most – the Narrative.

          • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 1:06 pm #

John Az: Why? Because our culture is utterly alien to them. They must deny it or destroy it to be true to themselves. We’re not born blank slates you know. We have an individual nature and a racial nature, both of which are denied by Marxism.

Phrases such as “For a lot of reasons” are used when posting on an Internet forum such as this … and most sensible people understand that you’re not writing a thesis, just posting some brief comments – and they appreciate the short-cuts.

          • Pucker February 23, 2021 at 7:24 am #

If you say that 0.01% of White People (oligarchy) oppress everyone else, then it cannot also be true that all White People are the oppressors since 99.99% of white people are also oppressed by the 0.01% oligarchy. It doesn’t make sense to say that since the 0.01% Oligarchy are mostly White, therefore all White People are the 0.01% Oligarchy. The overwhelming majority cannot be the tiny minority at the same time. A mendicant cannot be a billionaire at the same time.

Tekapo is wrong, sorry. Middle class Whites do not have any desire to pick on Blacks, they are too busy building businesses and living their lives to even worry about racism. Some poorer Whites might have a beef with their Black competitors, but

The Blacks number one problem for two hundred years is not Whites, it is their own culture. A matriarchal family unit with vagabond fathers leads young sons right into gangs their only form of recognition. With no morale guidance, afforded by Dads, the generations continue to be rudderless. With no guidance, young Black men fall for the attraction of gangs with their associated violence and crime. It cracks me up when the Leftist idiots want to eliminate cops, the only protection from the gangs that society has. The recent addition of cartel gangs just adds to the mix. This country is about to be taken over by the gangs , just what the idiot Leftists want. The Democratic takeover of the government is just going to aggravate the crime wave that is starting up.

The solution to the Black problem lies with the Blacks, period. Right now if they defend this matriarchal family style, they are a square peg in a round hole. They are not entitled to change the common culture to their style, period. Every ethnic group has assimilated into the US over a couple of generations, but the Blacks have been here for three hundred years and are still having major problems. No Dads and dependence on the government as gimme people have frozen them in place. They are no longer dependent on slave owners, now they are slaves to the Democratic Party. Who, by the way, have given them zero over the years.

        Tekapo –

And in reference to listening to our black community leaders, I certainly do. Some are incredibly eloquent and consistently affect positive change (Rev. Tim Christopher in North Mpls, for example).

And some are insane activists who should be nowhere near a microphone (both such people exist in all races, just to point that out, since I apparently haven’t checked my privilege in voicing an opinion).

As an example of the latter, I give you the (frighteningly, bafflingly, somehow newly elected) Minnesota House Rep from 67A, the honorable John Thompson:

And from the same protest, another insightful and right-minded “community leader”, threatening to burn down a peaceful suburb:

        No repercussions for either.

Being a “community leader” does not bestow credibility on title alone, Tekapo.

Yet the two groups have never gotten along. Far too different. The Irish are the whitest Whites and Blacks are VERY sensitive to color. Nor did the Irish get along with Italians. They got along with Catholic Slavs.

The most bloody riot in American history was perpetrated by Irish immigrants. The vicious Northern Elite had formed “press gangs” and were forcing the Irish into the army literally right off the boat. Understand they were escaping from the Horror of the Famine and the Crossing. And that all had seen sights that they would never be able to unsee. And when they finally reached salvation, the land of dreams, this. So they went crazy and tore New York apart, killing hundreds, many of them Black. They also broke into an armory and then shot it out with the Police and the National Guard.

Black African gangs in Dublin are savaging the native Irish now in Ireland itself. The Irish have been utterly betrayed by their own Marxist Government. What else is new, eh?

    ” “” Good ” and ” Bad ” are theological.”

Or perhaps just moral and projected on to a theology to help make them stick more generally.

Not definitely, just perhaps. I don’t share your capacity for certitudes.

But I don’t think your friend Night Owl is religious (he once added a ‘but’, that as he gets older he wonders etc. etc.).

Perhaps you could ask him how he taught his son right from wrong, and how theological the process was. Or Beantownbill, who strikes me as moral too, and has a family. ” ”

Well, in America , in brief , basically all family law is based on Parens Patria .

Parens Patria . = ” Father of his country. ”

i.e. the idea that the state is parent of all .

    — which directly grew out of the KING is parent of all.

And how the fuck is it that the king can claim legitimate interest over people he is very unlikely to even know ?

His legitimate interest springs from the Divine Right of Kings .

And the Divine Right of Kings does not mean the assertion that the kings shit smells sweeter than the ordinary kind.

( Though you can bet your ass plenty of folks would push precisely that narrative. JUST AS THEY DO NOW , but call themselves Children of the Revolution , or some such. )

The Divine Right of Kings means , ” The powers that be are ordained by God. ”

Yep , that’s right ; We are back to the authority of a being who isn’t even human , we are back to religion , to God , or Gods.

Granted , I don’t know squat about other cultures or societies in this case .

I do have some familiarity with Japan , though.

And it’s pretty much the same deal in Japan , too.

Except that Japan is hardly the Judeo – Christian tradition.

They are , or were , old school pagans.

Pontius Pilate would have otherwise been right at home in Kyoto.

Of course that is all a bunch of legal , and history buff , type stuff.

    But that’s precisely my point.

Night owl or that other guy might not know any of that , or , if they do , not care.

Does that in any way prevent them from living in , or using , such a system ?

The FDJ , the Girl Scouts , and the Masons , were all established based on a creed they wished to push , or , perhaps , the creed was an end in itself ?

Either way , I have no doubt that kids in East Germany voluntarily participated in FDJ activities , that girls attend Girl Scout activities , and men join the Masons , commonly not because they give a fig about the dogma . They are there for the fun stuff.

Again , you need not even know why the fuck you are there .

    So ,

” Or perhaps just moral and projected on to a theology to help make them stick more generally. ”

    Is shit.

    Accuracy would be ,

” Or perhaps just theological and that left vague and vacuous merely and simply because it is more convenient , or so they fancy. ”

Sort of like , if you have the theological training you claim , then you know that heterosexual and in the missionary position , with two people relatively close in age and in some sort of contract ,

isn’t really smiled on by God or the Gods , anymore than is butt- fucking the same sex , screwing another species , or corpses turn your crank.

It is merely excused , for practical necessity , the good of the group , how we go about determining who can claim five acres , or a cow.

Of course I wrote all of that for the benefit of ……………whomever.

I really rather doubt that NightOwl likes me , or would like me.

Merely agrees with me on the point that with you it is bad faith , all the time.

The Stuarts were the last British kings to be actually British. With the rise of the Hanovers, Britain was ruled by Germans. Yet then that curdled, and the Hanovers ended up supporting Churchill and the nascent New World Order against Germany and the cause of Nationalism worldwide.

George Louie didn’t even speak English. Just as good King John and Richard the Lionhearted only spoke French. Strange world!

      • BackRowHeckler February 23, 2021 at 2:15 pm #

Yeah, and the Stuarts were Scottish, not English. The Tudors were from Wales. Even Harold, who was killed by an arrow in the eye at Hastings, was half Viking, his mother being from Denmark. To find the last Anglo Saxon English king you have to go back pretty far.

Could it be that today’s crypto-religious ghost-dance of racial hysteria is really nothing more than a cuthroat social ponzi scheme? It is doubtful that the Inquisition in Toledo lacked institutional authenticity or a convincing veneer of authority and moral legitimacy. So why not with the post modern anti-racism inquisition? Well. Perhaps its because today’s anti-racism mania is actually the rebirth and revival of the antebellum plantation caste system. It isn’t revolutionary at all. It’s the old, established wealth simply reasserting dominance in a newish way. After all, were the Moors inquisitors? And so, for 250 years in America a well educated, resourceful Black could get much further up the social ladder than an uneducated, non-resourceful White. Spare me the lectures and the sophistries. I would rather talk about the very Black, very wealthy slave owners of New Orleans. The only thing that has changed is that the old money Whites are not interested in the societal casualties of the anti-racism rage whatsoever. Why get in the way of progress. After all, progress must be pure, cold, calculating industry and maximum racket and thus the moral veneer is so unconvincing and contrived.

They’re still afraid some White Hitler might arise at 11th hour and save the White race. That’s what the anti-Trump hysteria was about. Alas, he is nothing like Hitler, not worthy to touch his shoe.

Thus the Fatwa against us is still in effect. All of our governments are against us. And every White nation is being given to other groups. That’s the price of joining the Global Elite or just to be one of their favored Mandarins. The Judases are all too willing to sell us out.

F##k me! There’s a 1/4″ thick sheet of ice over everything, nothing’s moving, we are frozen in.

The Climate Czar is worried about palm trees in New England in February, which were supposed to be here by 2020. WHERE ARE THE PALM TREES?

Weather permitting, we are headed to Niantic on the Sound to sell a load of books I’ve been meaning to get rid of them since painting out my library last month. I’m cleaning house, kind of. I haven’t been down there since the end of October, this will give me a chance to check out any sea level rise that has occurred since then and now. The Climate Czar tells us we need to be worried about sea level rise, but I understand he owns not one but two waterfront mansions, one in Nantucket and one in the Vineyard. Real Estate is pricey out there. There’s an old NHRR bridge built in 1898, in Niantic, still in use, with an antique guage aside it to to measure tide and sea level; I be scrutinizing it to detect how much the sea has indeed risen.

    • JohnAZ February 23, 2021 at 9:29 am #

You better call ahead and make sure Niantic on the Sound is not underwater.

Also, I would be able to send you a couple of palm tree seedlings if you have room in your garden. We will call it a suicide mission.

I’ll try to let you know by friday what the level of the North Atlantic is, JAZ. If it is a Waterworld situation I will sound the alarm; it’ll be time to head for the hills.

You know the Climate Czar quotes all kinds of technical mumbo jumbo when he warns us about Sea Level Rise, but really, all he has do is glance out the rear window of his $25 million ‘Cottage’ on the Vineyard; that’ll tell him all he needs to know. If suddenly the Climate Czar is making a hasty departure from the Vineyard aboard his private Gulf Stream IV, escaping impending sea level rise doom, leaving his yacht behind, then I’ll start worrying.

The problem is Oligarchy, the 0.01% have concentrated and monopolized wealth, power, and information. But somehow the Oligarchy has been able to create this huge diversion to convince everyone that the problem is White People and “Systemic Racism”, irregardless of whether the individual white person in question has racist thoughts and behaviors. So, the unemployed white working class screwed over by Bill Clinton and NAFTA and the Obama’s becomes the enemy, when in fact they are the class victims of the Oligarchy. It’s divide and conquer.

And then most people can’t think because of all of the TV and high fructose corn syrup so they say bizarre things like: “The Oligarchy is mostly White, so the problem is all white people including those hillbillies over there…Get ‘em!”

From your mouth to the masses’ ears, Puck! Simple concept, yet apparently hard to grasp. I think its got something to do with the foolish idea that anyone, with a just little luck and perseverance, can join the ranks of the wealthy and powerful, even though for most they’d be better off investing in lottery tickets at the local Rippy Mart while picking up another 40 to drown their sorrows.

It’s gonna be “No Country For Old Men” for us old white geezers in the coming years. Might have to keep a sidearm or something of that nature at hand to put a quick end to me before the youngsters do. Little junkyard shits!

Having only visited the PRC and lacking any experience dealing with their bureaucracy, I not unnaturally wondered whether I might be able to work in China, as they historically respect the aged and seek their counsel. There is also a strong seller’s market for ESL professionals, especially those with pretty white devil faces.

Ha. I got disabused of that notion real quick. An old teaching associate from Jakarta had worked several years for a rather elite school in a podunk city of central China. He was let go and soon contacted by a number of recruiters, anxious to collect a commission from placing him in a new ESL-teaching position.

In every case, as soon as they heard he had turned 60 there was no more interest – or communication. I have also heard that while there is no hard-and-fast rule at Immigration, they are reluctant to grant visas to oldsters, unless they are some kind of high-powered poobah invited in to give scientific, technical or medical lectures.

I should have anticipated it. Like the rest of the world, the Chinese now entertain the notion that the old are useless and unsuitable for work. With the notable exception of the CPC gerontocracy running the empire, that is.

Bertrand Russel wrote a huge book about Why things like 1=1, and 1+1=2 are true. It’s much easier and wises to just accept them. They’re called “the postulates” and everything else is based on them. After all, it’s much easier to move one’s an arm than to understand how one does it.

From the Chuang Tzu: Someone asked a Caterpillar how he managed his hundred legs. He couldn’t answer. And he couldn’t walk anymore either.

    The QUADRO4

    Neat bike!

Now we need Musk to adopt this QUADRO4 technology and produce a Tesla electric version of it. If Musk can get the price under $5,000 it will revolutionize the transport industry.

    • BackRowHeckler February 23, 2021 at 11:35 am #

      That is pretty nice A.

Electric motorcycles haven’t really caught on here. I’ve yet to see one on the street. Harley is making an electric MC but I don’t think they’re selling too many.

Something like the QUADR04 might be pretty good in a small country with nice weather all the time, like Israel.

      • akmofo February 23, 2021 at 11:46 am #

China is really stealing this market with their NIU brand eScooters. I’m seeing more and more of them in Israel.

I think more than half the USA enjoys pretty good weather. The traction stability of 4 wheels is also great for not so hospitable weather. Just put on one of them nylon barriers and you’re good to go in the rain and snow. For a city commute this is a great option.

The e-version would have an e-motor at each wheel. No need for belts.

Agree with those who say Blacks are responsible for their own quality of life. Their culture doesn’t work very well in America. But it’s disingenuous to place the entire blame on them when we’ve disincentivised them through welfare because of our guilt over slavery. I know how hard it is to get ahead in America, especially being Jewish. It takes all my energy to succeed, and then when things are going well, have to deal with reading comments by people like Malthuss who throw out anti-Jewish non-sequiturs that irritate me and ruin any pleasure I may get from reading this blog.

Yet I persist because I have a very strong will. But it ain’t easy. What if most people don’t have that will, what do they do? They end up like Blacks. I actually laugh at commenters here who have no true idea how difficult it is for Blacks to cope, yet give ineffective and fantastical suggestions on what we should all do. I do not condone Black anti-social behavior, it gets me angry too.

Sorry, that’s my rant of the day.

    • malthuss February 23, 2021 at 12:05 pm #

      keep blaming me.

      • beantownbill. February 23, 2021 at 3:01 pm #

    • malthuss February 23, 2021 at 12:05 pm #

Black anti-social behavior, it gets me angry too…as in some of them attacking orthodox Jews in NYC?

    • SoftStarLight February 23, 2021 at 12:28 pm #

And how exactly do you have a true idea of how difficult it is for Blacks to cope? Are you suggesting that you can easily slip into the Black experience, and if so, exactly how since you establish in the same breath your Jewish identity? That isn’t a criticism of you Bill, its an acknowledgment of the issue at hand. This multi-racial, multi-ethnic society was cultivated specifically to stifle human development, growth and happiness. Because this currently established society is not human scaled. It is a giant, soulless, dead machine. It was intentionally created that way to prevent anyone not selected from entering the highest echelons of the pre-determined aristocracy. Thus the reason the struggle to “get ahead” is so severe and typically unrewarding. This is not a society built for the people who comprise it and is thus ultimately doomed to oblivion.

Because over the years I’ve had several close Black friends who have described how they feel about being prejudiced against, and because I’ve been prejudiced against numerous times and know how that feels, too. It diminishes or attempts to diminish both the abuser and the victim. It does affect me, but I have an underlying reservoir of anger which causes me to fight back and not give in.

While I agree with you about this society being a giant-sized, soulless machine, it was originally not designed to be such. Human nature being what it is, over time power tends to accumulate towards certain individuals and groups, many of whom are too immersed and revel in in their power to care about others; that is why our society is so screwed up. These so-called elites remind me of the classical picture of a miser – you know, the ones who get out their secret stash of money and gleefully throw the bills in the air, while cackling and shouting “mine, all mine”.

  68. RocketDoc February 23, 2021 at 12:19 pm #

Talking about race is so achingly dysfunctional. It’s like counseling for a bad marriage. I say, Make solid accommodation or give it up.

As a native, white Alabamian born in the Magic City and living in the Rocket City I have a great deal of shadenfreude about the national Race “discussion”. As the redneck whipping boy for the last 60 years, we Southerners are glad the rest of the world has joined us on the tar baby.

Look. The demographics of my town require a serviceable racial accommodation. We are 31% black and 61% white. Pretty similar to the rest of Alabama. As far as I can tell Hispanics are building literally everything in my town and the hospital physicians are Asian but neither have reached the consequential 5% of the population.

I sent my children to public school- horrors-and though I have some honest criticism of their depth of learning, it was up to me to supplement that given a philosophy in schools of no child left behind. That is not a call for excellence. My sons were football players and straddled the racial divide to their benefit. Teamwork requires everyone and high school had a comparable racial mix to the towns’ demographics. The President of the City Council is a young black guy that is doing a good job. Our town is booming with government contracts for missiles, drones, security(FBI bomb center), and NASA. Go Perseverence! We are coping with collapse adequately. We had our Confederate soldier ordeal and dispatched the quiet fellow to the historical cemetery. We have not renamed Washington, Jefferson, and Madison Streets…

Post modernism is not catching on here. White guys voted for Trump at 83% in 2016. We were the ONLY demographic group that voted for him in 2020 at a lower %. All other groups, women, blacks, hispanics voted at a higher % for Trump. Go figure. I didn’t vote for him either time because he has a gut I don’t trust and poor aim shooting off the cuff.

My sister set up a Zoom call to discuss White Fragility. Interesting. My wife and I have hosted US State Dept visitors for 30 years from everywhere: Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Congo, Mauritania. Muslim. Black. They have all stayed at our house for up to a week. Our task was to show them how Americans live. We have enjoyed almost every visitor and look forward to visiting them when we retire and can travel again.

To put it simply, I don’t take kindly to white diversity coordinators talking about my racism. I listen carefully to black acquaintances to see things I might not be aware of. For the term, racism, to be meaningful it must apply to individuals as a moral failure not to a system of oppression. Our problem is the interaction of all majority v minority cultural groups. We are more or less good at inclusivity no matter what group we are in. To go to church with the people you want to go to church with may be segregated but it is not necessarily racist. You can’t look at my 3 white employees and conclude I am racist.

Are we Southerners, racist? Would it be helpful to suggest that probably 1/3 are conventionally racist, the middle 1/3 I would consider cautiously tolerant, and the remaining 1/3 actively hopeful of racial interaction and harmony? I doubt any of us know what indignities black folks suffer routinely. Sympathy is not amelioration however. I don’t think the advice to be “less white”, is helpful.

Is it not obvious that a system is built for the people who use the system? Culture is for the people that have it. One can enjoy and empathize with differences but one cannot BE otherwise.

Repentance is a humility that improves discernment. Going halfway to address another’s concern is not giving up.

There isn’t anything morally wrong with racism per se. It’s simply a natural feature of human nature. The morally wrong part IMO comes in with how individuals chose to conduct themselves. There is also nothing morally superior about being “anti-racist”. In fact, one could argue that such sentiments typically always lead to various levels of genocide and cultural destruction. I have always concluded that Yankees are maybe 100 times more “racist” then Southerners. But then I often find more commonality with Yankeeisms in that regard so I might not be the best go to on that particular subject.

      • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 2:14 pm #

Well said. His attitude is how it begins. His town still has a solid enough White majority that the illusion can be maintained. And the good economy doesn’t hurt. And rural Southern Blacks aren’t as bad as they get in the cities. But the seeds of destruction are in the ground and will germinate once conditions are right.

        • RocketDoc February 23, 2021 at 5:55 pm #

The Northern Ideal anent Blacks is to love the Race but hate or have nothing to do with actual individual Blacks.

One ideal is sensible and humane. The other is an anti-human ideology destructive to both races. But which is which?!

The “hate the race” part is the essential corrective to this. And the one drop rule the means to enforce it. Irrational? In a sense. But it has served us so, so very well. Thus it is most rational from the heuristic pov. One a dam is breached, the hole isn’t going to get any smaller only larger.

“On(c)e a dam is breached, the hole isn’t going to get any smaller only larger.”

How true that is. Expect the “Black” (actually colored) population to grow relative to the White population. What’s important is their identity as “Black.” With 6% interbreeding among millennials, this will certainly turn the U.S. into Brazil within another generation. We Whites will have to start thinking about a refugia. We’ll be long dead however, LOL.

Alba: And you’re not interested in loving and preserving the White race either. The two go together. Btw, one doesn’t have to hate all other races, especially ones that have never hurt us or live far away.

And of course you think Western Civilization is no more White than it is Black or Chinese. This is simply Liberal Ignorance.

          • GreenAlba February 24, 2021 at 8:13 am #

I’m the wrong person to ask. You’re into localism, aren’t you? Well my local reality, whether where I live now or where I lived in the (then) industrial north of England, was a sea of white faces, with a sprinkling, in some parts of town (and in my current street), of Asian or Chinese faces.

I saw my first properly black faces (other than on the telly) when I arrived at King’s Cross Station in London in my teens, in the 60s. And the only properly black person of my close acquaintance was a Nigerian (book) designer I worked with for about 15 years.

So I’ve never had to think that much about my whiteness. It’s not a concept that has invaded much of my brain space, in a personal sense. And I don’t feel the need to apologise for that any more than for the fact that the beautiful Georgian real estate in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Birmingham, Bath or Liverpool was built with slave money, even though the thought of that is horrible. I have enough sins of my own. London and Bradford can sort out their own problems. I don’t get a say in who comes to this country any more than in anything else.

Your mileage is clearly different. As would mine be if I lived somewhere in the old textile towns in the north west of England and half my kids’ classmates had been Asians (quite a few of my grandson’s classmates are Asians, but they’re still a smallish minority).

          • GreenAlba February 24, 2021 at 8:39 am #

Actually, calling him Nigerian is inaccurate. He was British but his parents were Nigerian. He sounded like anyone else from the south of England, where he’d presumably lived at some point. Probably came up for university.

“The Northern Ideal anent Blacks is to love the Race but hate or have nothing to do with actual individual Blacks.”

I’ve never trusted this as a true representation of the North’s view on the subject. As I mentioned, the White Southerner is the most sentimental being on the planet, so the obverse, that individual blacks are a-ok but, as a race, they are the shits, is pretty close to the idealized version of reality that most White Southerners inhabit, in my experience, which is why the current cuck-servative paradigm has such a grip on White Southerners (& now Woke White Northerners experiencing the poz).

But let’s recognize something: the “Northern ideal” is not monolithic & never has been. If you look at tribal settlement patterns north vs south, it brings into clearer focus where that ideal really originates, passing without comment as the Northern ideal.

        • Yohannon February 24, 2021 at 12:15 pm #

Well most Southerners now are like Rocket Doc, Liberals in other words who may have a sentimental attachment to their heritage, but no real understanding of it. Otherwise they wouldn’t gush about Blacks or be Liberals in the first place.

Good point about Northerners. We mustn’t forget the Copper Heads.

    • Wizard of the Saddle February 23, 2021 at 7:20 pm #

Good post, RocketDoc. I’m a couple of counties over from you, but can vouch for the reality you described.

We had our own brief dust-up over here about the Confederate veteran war memorial at the courthouse. Our gray man has been standing for over a century and, I’m pleased to say that he hasn’t moved one damn inch, though a pathetic handful of hateful BLM wannabees certainly took a stab at him last summer.

Honestly, I find it very difficult to discern the difference between a gathering of KKK fools in bedsheets raging about black folks and a mob of BLM Marxists hatin’ on the white folks and their Confederate Gr-Gr-Grandaddies. These flip sides of the same racist coin all have WAY too much time on their hands and need to go find gainful employment doing real work and quit disturbing the peace.

Most folks here in Alabama are about the nicest people you will ever meet and are polite to a fault. But there are red lines that should never be crossed. A Southerner will bend over backwards to never say a cross word to a stranger….until you try his/her patience to the point that they are mad enough to kill you.

You’d think this country would have taken that lesson to heart after the Late Unpleasantness of 1861-65. There are a hell of a lot more of us around today than 155 years ago and we’re a lot better armed and equipped this time. The usual suspects would be well advised to just leave all of us, and our heritage, the hell alone.

      • Tate February 23, 2021 at 8:59 pm #

What’s the deal with the SOTU address? It was supposed to go tonight, but Google’s being coy. Wiki, that great repository of info, tells me it’s indeed tonight, but then states that the “date is to be determined”. It’s obvious the globalists want as few people to view it as possible.

So … going on the notion that it will actually be delivered by the Fake President, what may we get?

Have your popcorn and favourite beverage(s) ready. Every time the Hologram says “unity”, take a drink. Other repetitive virtue prompts? “Dark year”? “Global pandemic”? How many Esteemed Community Members will get highlighted in glowing terms? (Drink! Drink! Drink!)

And will Beijing Biden, in the one-and-a-half hours (are you kidding me?) just lose it mid-way, quit looking at the teleprompter, rip out his earbud, and go off on a rambling tangent about the good ole days with Black kids crawling into his lap, his parchment skin cracking under his fake, frozen smile?

If actually conducted in the House Chamber instead of Joe’s basement, will any of the applause be SINCERE? C’mon man.

Anglin is writing that sleepy Joe said the ‘N’ word but the media wouldn’t report it. He ackshually said “neager here next I’m eager to hear” &c, slurring his words as usual in his slow but increasing descent into madness. Then Anglin brings up Matt Gaetz for some reason mentioning that Gaetz has a young Cuban ward/houseboy who he thinks he can slip across as Robin of “Batman & Robin” fame but that everybody knows is really his male lover. Then he talks about how the introduction of Robin into the Batman comics in the 1930s required the further introduction of Batwoman to counter the belief of 1930s parents that Batman & Robin were gay lovers. Then he brings up Josh Hawley saying that Hawley looks only marginally less weird than Gaetz. All I know about these two is that they’re (separately) always showing up on Tucker Carlson with very similar frozen grins on their faces & that not even Mitt Romney does that.

oh here we go again with honest elections in the US LOL

honest elections brought to you by the party that controls all the tallying sites, couldn~t count its own votes in its own primaries and flooded the system with 80 million unverifiable ballots

DID the dems EVER count the votes in their primaries? or were they conveniently ignored?

        • rube-i-con February 23, 2021 at 3:47 pm #

here~s your typical leftist voting tactic. introduce rule changes that ensure chaos and claim victory and claim the election was honest. notice the piece claims trump makes ~unsubstantiated~ claims about the effects of this:

“The outcome of the June 23 Democrat primary [in NY] has still not been finalized more than six weeks after Election Day due to vote counting issues related to the surge in mail voting.

New York initially postponed its primary, before deciding late in the process to send absentee ballots to all voters.

President Trump has used the delay to attack mail-in voting, making unsubstantiated claims about fraud and warning that the expected surge in mail-in voting could lead to chaos and delays that extend the general election far beyond Nov. 3.

The U.S. Postal Service and the New York Board of Elections have experienced all kinds of difficulties in counting the mailed primary ballots.

There was confusion about whether ballots sent in the pre-paid envelopes should be postmarked. Many were not postmarked, leading those received after June 23 to be disqualified. “

I’m not a miserable leftist – I’m a chirpy-happy centrist, snacking high up the food chain in a lovely condo.

But the main point would seem to be – your miserable leftists don’t have to prove the election was fair … 60+ court cases plus the hand-picked Republican Supreme Court have said they couldn’t identify fraud – multiple times.

If you don’t accept what the Supreme Court has said about the election – well – perhaps move to Peru, Zambia, or Serbia, and buy your own Supreme Court.

I intended to watch it but never got around to doing so. I have tried to piece it together watching as many clips as are available on youtube though. In a very roundabout way it seemed to have some slight similarities with that movie The Happening? Have you seen that?

      • Yohannon February 24, 2021 at 12:10 pm #

Yes, but their only similarity is the people killing themselves. The Birdbox is so cool because political. One of the Deplorables is more refined and passes himself off as a Liberal. He asks for help and gets in the house! Only the birds know he’s “not right”! I like to think of myself as that kind of Deplorable….

Another great one is “They Live” where aliens pass themselves off as human as they take over Civilization. The hero finds special glasses that allows him to see them as they are.

The subconscious mind is a fascinating place.

Then there is Bridey Murphy. Is the hypnotic state of recall the dreamstate? Lots to think about.

Johnnie Boy, Bridey Murphey was shown to be nothing more than childhood memories of a little girl who~d grown up……listening to stories from the Irish woman who lived across the street from her….

    Sorry Good Sir

I do not believe in reincarnation, however there is extremely – extremely! – compelling evidence in the form of Gwen McDonald who recounted her life as Rose Duncan in Somerset, England, and was recorded by Dr. Peter Ramster in 1981 under hypnosis.

Duncan, who~d never been out of her native Australia, used the word ~tallet~ under hypnosis and named specific individuals she claimed she had known in the 1720s in England, as well as pronouncing several words in special ways native to Somerset at that time.

~Tallet~ was not found in any dictionary until Ramster consulted a dictionary from the epoch in question…..the word was unknown in Australian dictionaries.

The names cited by Duncan were found in Church registers dating from the cited epoch, and her purported home was only found after consulting old maps from ….the time she claimed to have lived in.

I leave it to those interested to dredge up the documentary online, not an easy task….

I~ll leave it to those of you who~re

    • JohnAZ February 23, 2021 at 7:40 pm #

      Thanks for the return.

Whether Murphy was legit or not, her recall of certain elements of her prior life were amazingly accurate, others not so much. If she did get the info from a Bridey Murphy in her youth, her recall was stupendous.

The question still stands though, is dreamstate a journey into the sub conscience and where exactly is that. I do not believe any one has figured out where we go when we dream. How did Lew Wallace pull Ben Hur out of his subconscious? As mysterious as death.

      • JohnAZ February 23, 2021 at 7:56 pm #

        Or Edgar Allen Poe?

      • Soul Forensics February 23, 2021 at 8:48 pm #

I’ve never liked the term “subconscious”. It’s been festooned with all kinds of New Age hokum and mysteria.

All is consciousness. Even the unconscious doesn’t, practically speaking, exist, because who would then experience it?

As for dreams, it’s a misconception that dreams happen in deep sleep. There are no dreams in deep sleep. Dreams happen in the transition period between waling to sleeping, and sleeping to waking. The REM period, which, in regular 6-8 hour sleep cycles, happens 3 or 4 times a night.

Most dreams are just an expression of the conflicts and obsessions of each individual’s waking life. On rare occasions, or in someone with highly developed spiritual attunement, dreams can be lucid, and on even rarer occasions, prophetic.

        • JohnAZ February 23, 2021 at 10:03 pm #

Your last sentence has been my point.

Dreams are just part of the mystery of Life

And death. What is awaiting us. Only one Person has made a return trip.

Hamlet, Act III, Scene I [To be, or not to be]
          William Shakespeare – 1564-1616

To be, or not to be: that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
          And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, ’tis a consummation
          Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep;
          To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub;
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause: there’s the respect
          That makes calamity of so long life;
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
The oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely,
The pangs of despised love, the law’s delay,
The insolence of office and the spurns
That patient merit of the unworthy takes,
When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear,
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
But that the dread of something after death,
The undiscover’d country from whose bourn
No traveller returns, puzzles the will
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than fly to others that we know not of?
          Thus conscience does make cowards of us all;
And thus the native hue of resolution
Is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought,
And enterprises of great pith and moment
With this regard their currents turn awry,
And lose the name of action.—Soft you now!
The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons
          Be all my sins remember’d.

Plutarch: At the moment of death the soul experiences the same impressions as those who are initiated into the great Mysteries.

Yoho: He speaks of the Egyptian Mysteries of Osiris. You become Osiris, dying and then rising up out of your physical body. And then rising up, reborn in your physical body. Thus two resurrections.

Hmmm very interesting. I’ve never really known what to make of reincarnation. I’ve heard of some very strange stories where people have elaborate and detailed memories of their past lives. If the soul can travel on the astral plane perhaps it can fade and then reemerge as in from one life to the next?

Massive Social Experiment Gone Awry: Place a population of very economically insecure people ignorant of their history on a plantation run by a very tiny minority of deranged, but immensely wealthy oligarchs who have monopolized all power, control, and information. And then tell one half of the slaves who are one color that they’re oppressed by the other half of the slaves who are of a different color. Impress upon their TV-addicted and high fructose corn syrup warped minds the absurd dogma of “Critical Race Theory”.

I suspect that the slaves on the antebellum plantations probably figured out that by reproducing and breeding prolifically that the rapid increase in the numbers of fellow slaves would lessen their work load unless the Master kept acquiring ever more property, which was not easy unless the Master goes to steal it from the Mexicans?

George Washington at one point was tearing his hair at all of the kids that his slaves were producing. And the thought of his slaves idle, sitting around, not doing anything, and just Fuck’n around eating up his food literally drove Washington bonkers. I suspect that today the teenage welfare moms get more money if they have more illegitimate kids? I think that the ideal social model envisioned by black males after emancipation was 40 acres and a mule and lots of kids to do all of the work while the men fuck around drinking all day?

In the South, slaves were capital. In a society based on manual labor, the only way to grow your capital base was to acquire both land and the means to work it. When the South seceded, they were defending their wealth. Their rights!

Ironically, the next sixty years would have destroyed slavery, the mechanization of the farm made human labor uneconomical. It was finished with the invention of the tractor which destroyed the livelihoods of the sharecroppers, slavery’s successor. The destruction of the small sharecropper farm sent a generation into the cities in the 1920’s and 30’s, a substantial contribution to the 25% unemployment of the Depression.

The city of Seattle has told its resident heroin users that to avoid the tell tale injection tracks on their arms, they should-

JAZ, I believe it’s called a butt bump. Any port in a storm, heh?

My mistake. I guess it’s called a booty bump.

      • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 9:57 pm #

John has become Jaz. How cool is that?

That is also the name of Transgender kid who was such a hit a few years ago. “She” dropped out after she started to lose her looks as she grew up into destroyed manhood. Last report was about her manufactured vagina falling apart.

They used too many testosterone blockers on her so there wasn’t enough tissue to make a good one.

Suppositories are not new, JohnAZ. 🙂

The French are exceptionally fond of them because they avoid damaging your stomach with certain medications.

When I worked in Grenoble in the 70s, a young English woman came to the office, doing some freelance translation work for us – she’d been given suppositories for something or other (sore throat, maybe!) and had never come across them before. We had to tell her not to swallow any more of them.

    • elysianfield February 24, 2021 at 11:21 am #

Really? A new one for me. I can visualize suppurating anal fistulas as a result.

…How can I get this image out of my mind?

      Nothing seems to work….

        • elysianfield February 24, 2021 at 6:43 pm #

Thank you…the fistula images brought me close to mental instability …now I can sleep.

On another note…how does your husband deal with those images? The Queen? Union Jack? Is there a viable (perhaps even respectable) alternative to Salma?

          • GreenAlba February 26, 2021 at 7:20 am #

At this stage I don’t think any images stay that long in his mind, whether it’s the fistula kind or the Salma kind.

But if he had to choose some existential distraction generally, it would likely be a Salma or a Similar, rather the Queen or the Union Jack, and not just because he’s Irish.

But not when I’m in the house. When I’m in the house it’s doctors’ blogs (the grumpies, as I refer to them) or an infinite number of historical documentaries on YouTube. A lot of battles.

Which you’d think would have the opposite effect, in some ways. He combined both at one time, working in an Irish hospital in Baghdad (coincidentally) during the Iran/Iraq war. But he was young then and probably had stronger nerves.

  81. Pucker February 23, 2021 at 8:16 pm #

Have you ever noticed that white people refer to themselves as “White”. Black people refer to themselves as “Black”. But Asian people never refer to themselves as “Yellow”.

    • Pucker February 23, 2021 at 10:10 pm #

I think that that Africans don’t identify themselves as Black, but rather as members of a particular ethnic tribe? Apparently, when black American Peace Corps volunteers go to Africa it’s a huge shocker when they encounter Africans who view them as aliens, and the black American Peace Corp volunteers realize that they have more in common with white people than with Africans. But what can you do?

      • messianicdruid February 24, 2021 at 8:51 am #

Make Peace Corp service in Africa mandatory for all entitlement recipients.

      • benr February 24, 2021 at 10:53 pm #

Africans tend to dislike very strongly American blacks.

    • Tekapo February 24, 2021 at 1:09 am #

And Native Americans don’t refer to themselves as “Indians” either, let alone “Red” ones.

Has it ever occurred to you that minorities don’t necessarily want to use the monikers and names that White People ascribe to them? You wouldn’t put up with it for ten minutes.

      • SoftStarLight February 24, 2021 at 2:39 am #

Has it ever occurred to you that there is humor in the world and laughing is healthy and refreshing? And btw actually I do think some of the Indians referred to themselves as Red Men so why don’t you prove they didn’t.

All that Wokeness is really turning you into a humorless choad.

I had a roommate who was a Dem party campaign guy and activist once, much like your wife. He sounded just like you. His only friends were other activists, and whenever one of them was not present at a social outing, they all knifed him in the back.

        You gotta get out, broseph.

…oh bullshit…people put up with it every day.

I’ve been called all those things, too many times to count, and usually with multisyllabic adjectives (usually motherfucking). I would only be offended if I respected the source…and even then never offended to any degree above that generating sardonic mirth.

“And Native Americans don’t refer to themselves as “Indians” either, let alone “Red” ones.” — tekapo troll

Remember the “offense” taken by Natives over the Washington Redskins moniker? It was actually offense taken on BEHALF of Natives. Redskins, Indians, and Reds. Doesn’t matter. 90% of a large poll of native Americans said they were completely unoffended/didn’t care one way or the other about the Redskins name.

It’s all a hustle. You’re either a typically naive fool, or (much more likely) in on it.

    Somebody above mentioned Assange.

What’s that dudes status? Is he locked down for life, or what?

I did read that Sweden dropped the sexual assault charges, which seemed bogus to begin with. How long can the UK hold him? Forever?

    • GreenAlba February 23, 2021 at 8:31 pm #

From what I recall, brh, his extradition trial was held and the judge refused extradition, in view of his mental health status or something. I don’t quite recall.

Don’t know if an appeal is/was planned.

    • Tate February 23, 2021 at 9:09 pm #

Latest I heard was that Trump was extorted into NOT pardoning Assange, against his better instincts. He complied.

      • Yohannon February 23, 2021 at 9:42 pm #

And the foot high stack of secret documents? Guess someone talked him out of releasing those too. He ended quietly, with neither a bang nor a whimper. No doubt he will seek some revenge against his tormentors, especially since they will not relent. But how much we should support his personal vendetta is another question.

      • Tekapo February 24, 2021 at 12:44 am #

Extorted? Do you mean blackmailed? Or threatened.

    • Night Owl February 24, 2021 at 4:37 am #

The Biden Admin wants him to die in prison. There were some documents going around showing that the DOJ and State goons that were going after Trump were the same ones who removed him from the embassy and were angling for extradition.

Sadly, he is probably a goner.

  83. BackRowHeckler February 23, 2021 at 8:27 pm #

Another iconoclast being held in a foreign prison, fighting extradition to the US, is John McAfee. Locked up in Spain, the Justice Dept. has charged John with tax evasion and other crimes. He’s fighting extradition tooth and nail but I’ve read most of his money is gone.

Watch “Gene Code Injection” on Bitchute. By 2030 we’ll be plugged into the net, walking cellphones so to speak. Godlike powers? Or no personal free will left at all? Basically just cyborgs that get told what to do and not do.

    Excellent podcast w/Derrick Jensen, James.

I remember well having to memorize Ozymandias in 8th grade when I was 13 and not knowing what the fuck Shelly was talking about.

Takes on new meaning when you’ve aged a bit and see what’s become of our earth.

BTW, the phrase, “Infinite growth can’t go on forever in a finite world” belongs to the late math professor Al Bartlett of the University of Colorado. Another of his gems is, “The greatest shortcoming of the human race is its failure to understand the exponential function.”

“The way the grid works, if a generator goes off line they shift the load difference to the other generators.” (JohnAZ)

The way the capitalist unregulated market-based grid works in Texas is you are without power for days and get a bill for $7,000 (seven thousand dollars for one month). It’s legal. It’s privatized utilities in an unregulated state that prides itself on independence and is now taking federal dollars in emergency relief. Taking $5,000,000 (five million dollars) in charity from AOC, too!

$7,000 a month electricity bills do not happen, cannot happen, in states where the utilities are public commodities and are regulated to protect the public from capitalistic gouging.

    • Night Owl February 24, 2021 at 2:17 pm #

I posted the DOE/ERCOT letter recently.

Prices spiked because the Biden DOE would not let powerstations ramp up production due to environmental laws.

The DOE ordered them to instead buy power from out of state as needed, and the rate was heavily inflated.

The wording of the Big Lie is worth paying attention to: “In response, the Public Utility Commission, appointed by Abbott, let the wholesale market price of electricity rise to $9 per kilo-watt hour, a 7,400% increase over the average 12 cents per kilo-watt hour.”

      • Night Owl February 24, 2021 at 2:22 pm #

Also worth noting as that the “CEO” of the Texas Tribune is an Aspen Society member. The Aspen Society is a tentacle of the Open Society Foundations.

I other words, this is Purple Revolutionist rag.

Took me 5 minutes to connect the dots.

      • Tate February 24, 2021 at 5:37 pm #

Texas is unique in having its own power grid. No other state has an independent power grid. Is the Biden regime sending a message? Makes one wonder.
