Who is surprised that the US government’s war on the American people is not going any better than its sponsored war in Ukraine? The only thing the government is really good at is covering up its crimes, which mainly requires them to do nothing — don’t investigate anything, don’t furnish documents to anyone, don’t answer official letters, slow-walk every required action, and otherwise dodge, duck, deny, deflect, and dissemble.

Now, even that game-plan is falling apart. Some senior officials in the FBI turned whistleblower this week, perhaps desperate to preserve their self-respect, and finally cleared up one of the great mystifications of our time, namely: How is it that the Hunter Biden laptop, stuffed with incriminating memoranda of bribery, treason, and diverse felonies, and in the FBI’s possession for two-and-a-half years now, just sat gathering dust in some sub-sub-basement cubby-hole — while “Joe Biden,” the putative president (or, more likely, the enigmatic claque behind him) was allowed to carry out a demolition of America’s economy and culture?

The answer is one Brian Auten, FBI Senior Analyst, who engineered a scheme to label Hunter’s laptop “Russian disinformation,” which allowed FBI Director Christopher Wray to throw a switch that turned off any further inquiry in the matter beginning in August before the 2020 presidential election. In turn, other senior FBI officials had all the documents pertaining to the decision process on that matter locked up in a special file that would never see the light of day. Auten’s action led to the release of a letter signed by “fifty former intelligence officials” labeling the laptop as a Russian disinfo op — which became the basis for social media to conspire to censor any discussion of the laptop and its contents. And so it was that a political puppet deeply in the pay of foreign interests got shoehorned into the White House. Well, that and widespread election fraud.

Turns out that Agent Brian Auten was also involved in favorably vetting the Steele Dossier when it was used to justify FISA court warrants against figures in Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign, part of the RussiaGate operation that disordered and disabled President Trump’s entire four-year term. Well now you know. Perhaps Special Counsel John Durham knows this, too. (If he didn’t before, he must now.) Eventually, Mr. Auten will have to answer for all this, maybe after the mid-term elections. We must imagine that he will implicate many other familiar figures in the process who were on-the-scene at the time, including Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, and James Comey, comfortably sitting on the sidelines lo these many years enjoying their book royalties and cable news salaries.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Judiciary Committee, says he will hold hearings about this. When? The Senate is scheduled to be in recess August 6 to September 6 for politicking back home. Maybe after that Senator Grassley will actually produce his whistleblowers in open session — unlike the 2019 first impeachment of Donald Trump, in which chief whistleblower CIA agent Eric Ciaramella, amazingly, never made an appearance. That will be refreshing.

It would also be nice to hear from FBI Director Wray. Did he approve of the decision to label Hunter’s laptop “disnformation?” Was he familiar with the contents of the laptop, the emails between Hunter and his business associates and agents of the CCP? Did Mr. Wray happen to examine any of the pornographic videos of orgies with Hunter’s stable of Russian whores plus the crack-smoking? Did Mr. Wray wonder whether equally bad or worse material was in the hands of Uncle Xi’s regime? Did it occur to Mr. Wray that all this might compromise “the Big Guy” in the Oval Office?

It also would be edifying to hear from Mr. Wray’s boss, Attorney General Merrick Garland. During his 20 months on-the-job, has he ever inquired of his FBI what’s up with that Hunter Biden laptop? Was he acquainted with the contents? Half the country has seen the videos of Hunter cavorting naked in hotel rooms and lighting up the crystal meth, but not Mr. Garland? There’s rumored-to-be more depraved material on the laptop involving minors that even conscientious auditors outside of government have seen and deemed too atrocious to release. (Copies of Hunter’s hard-drive are in possession of many people outside government.)

I hope Senator Grassley also calls Lisa Monaco, the Deputy Attorney General, now at Mr. Garland’s right hand, who was formerly President Barack Obama’s White House Homeland Security Advisor — a fancy way of describing her role in weaponizing the apparatus of the security state against the Democratic Party’s political opponents. Lisa Monaco’s current role is the DOJ Fixer — the person who makes sure that federal law enforcement does nothing about the crimes carried out by Mr. Obama, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and many other now well-known names in the RussiaGate cosmos, as well as continuing to squelch any inquiry on the Biden family’s criminal operations.

All of this is going to blow open, of course, and all at the same time that two other big things blow up: 1) the realization that the government lied about everything in the Covid-19 story, including especially covering-up the harmful effects of their vaunted mRNA shots, and 2) deepening US economic chaos, including the implosion of markets, derivatives, banks, and the US dollar.

Some observers say that “Joe Biden” has nothing left except to shove the USA into a hot war. Kind of looks like he’s trying — sending US Special Forces to Ukraine’s border, and all. I don’t think he’ll dare cross that line, though. To me, it’s more likely that our government will summon, shall we say, a special sort of doctor from the Intel Community to administer a permanent sleeping med to the Big Guy. Did you see how bug-eyed he was on video the other day? Didn’t even blink for the longest time. Looks like he badly needs sleep… a big sleep… the biggest sleep there is. Wait for it.

    I think you’re right that this is going to blow open, Jim, but only because the Party of Chaos is done with Uncle Joe. They need an excuse to get rid of him while simultaneously blaming the GOP and this is it. Personally, food and gas and my idiot woke neighbors are bigger concerns but that’s just me.

      It’s not only the HB laptop that is gathering dust in the FBI basement, but also Weiner’s and HRC’s. And as with those, nothing will be done about Hunter’s. As for the general situation, it’s looking bleak. Sure, the GOP might landslide the midterms, but anyone expecting a party whom a large number of its members just voted for the appalling “gay marriage” bill to actually steady the ship is deluded. The only congress folk who have done anything to stop the Jacobin Juggernaut destroying the US were Sinema and Manchin. And they were dems. The GOP are part of the treason, folks.

            Anthony was convicted of transmitting obscene materials to a minor.

            A minor who mysteriously contacted a known pervert deliberately.

            He sent dirty words to an adolescent. Hardly something that would make seasoned detectives sick to their stomachs, and certainly not something anyone would normally go to federal prison for.

            Democrats seem to be protected until they are of no use like Bob Filner.
            He had a terrible history of groping women and making sexual advances on them and was protected until he ran for San Diego mayor and then all of a sudden off the national stage and of no further use to the national DNC platforms his disgrace was finally made public.
            Never mind his nickname was filthy Filner for YEARS.
            There is not a more rat faced smarmy politician than this guy.

        Yeah, a lot of old movies had a plot line of releasing incriminating evidence to a “free press” always resulted in justice being served.

        Problem is, among others, the free press of today is just as bought and paid for and controlled as .gov characters.

        Jim, you have much more confidence in “the system” than I do, but I’ll be pleasantly surprised and will readily admit I was wrong if ANY of the people mentioned in today’s blog post, including SloJoe’s finest creation Hunter, spend 10 minutes in jail. Hell, I’ll be surprised if any charges are filed that don’t result in the bread and circuses distractions we’re all so acquainted with – and where nothing happens.

        I mean really, to quote the croniest of cronies, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”

      If you live inside the current arrangement of US suburbia with a big house on a small lot, you are somewhat limited in food resources. But with a bit of acreage, you can have a garden and a chicken house that can get you by in times of trouble at the supermarkets.

      As for gasoline, the time may arrive when suburban residents will be forced to carpool on shopping trips or not go at all and starve. A way out of that problem is to start bicycling if you are in an area convenient for it. It will do wonders for your health, and you can attach panniers on to the rear of the bike for hauling stuff. With gasoline strictly rationed, the streets will be much safer for bicyclists and pedestrians. Drivers will be desperately trying to squeeze every last drop of mileage they can out of motor fuels and will be putt putting along like old grandmas. The cars still on the road will be filled to maximum capacity, trunks loaded and springs sagging. The ac inside these cars might be broken down, and the women inside them will be forgetting about their makeup and hair, that will be a lost cause. On a bicycle, you are out in the breeze, and having a blast going down a long hill with a curve in the middle – you get to lean the bicycle over in a turn just like a motorcycle rider does. You smell honeysuckle and mimosa flowers in the wind going by. If you’d gone shopping instead with a carpool ride, what you might smell is body odor, farts, and possibly even puke if it gets bad enough in there and hot enough for someone to get carsick. The mechanics tell ya it will be 6 months before a part comes in from Asia to fix your ac.

      What a wonderful future is in store for us! Isn’t democracy wonderful!

        Getting back on my bike this summer has been great for my health, energy and soul. So far not able to ride 5 miles up and down hill into town and back, like I used to a few years back. But getting there. By the time I am doing it the weather will turn, making the roads slick. But for now, I’m digging it. It feels great to be able to climb a hill, smell the smells, see the sights. At 69, I am blessed.

      I don’t know if Dopey Joe CAN be gotten rid of. The Devil watches over those who do his bidding and keeps them alive as absolutely long as long as possible, because even he wants to put off having them around him. If DJ decays too rapidly, they may have to call in a body double and the brain-dead political opposition and American public would do what, whimper? More likely they continue their unblinking stares into their Dingleboxes and scroll, scroll, scroll the day away, you know like they do now, constantly and everywhere they go.

      I have lost my faith in the American public and am doing my best to maintain my composure for when the CCP launches its political party here in the US ( I think they just did btw) and takes over the government after they fill all those human storage units (apartments) they are building for their people all over the country. Once they are in charge, many of our problems will be solved for us. Gulp!

    It sounds like they discovered “passive aggressiveness” and then weaponized it, and turned into a WMF – a weapon of mass-formation. A weapon that sucks all info and life into a mini black hole. Wasn’t there an X-Man (or is it X-Persons now???) who had that power???

      True, Penny. The midterms – whatever the result – will show that DC is irreformable. Either the Dems cheat massively, or the GOP win and do nothing. I suspect we will then start hearing even more about States’ conventions and secession. That’s a shame, because a broken US is exactly what Soros et al want. But if it means at least a strong, united rump of what America once was, then that will be better than nothing.

            You’d need to be independently wealthy like Trump was – and he simply lacked the vison or courage to take his millions of followers out of the Republican Party, though he may have toyed with the idea. If he had done it, he would have called it the Trump Party and it would have been stillborn in any any case.

            Beyond that, how independently wealthy is he? Or how “independently” wealthy can even an honest wealthy man be? As one of the Rothschilds said, All money is ours. Thus did the Protestant stalwarts turn our banking system over to them. They wanted in!

            Because the Uniparty wrote all of the ballot access laws in such a way as to effectively exclude and/or hamstring 3rd Party efforts to get their candidates on the ballot in each of the 50 states. Ask the folks involved in the old Reform Party movement back in the 1990’s. It cost them a tremendous amount of money, time, and work just to get put on the friggin’ ballot, which took away resources needed to campaign to win in the general election.

        The valuable smuggler’s ports of the coasts, California farmland, NYC banks and the Chicago commodities/currency exchange.

        A pirate’s den, ruled by autocratic gangsters like Kolomoiskyy and Zelenskyy are. A data haven (re the hacker’s Black Exchange in UKR), female and child trafficking, money laundering, a black market for weapons, drugs, and IT.

        Even high-end weapons, a la nuke tech like A.Q. Khan in Pakistan, and bioweapons like our 46 biolabs in UKR that spooked Putin into acting.

        Red states in the role of Poland and Belarus. UKR should be the Germany of the East, with its abundant resources and literate White Christian backbone; instead, its women are reduced to prostitution and its men to gangs or serfdom under a puppet regime. The same fate may await Americans in the new Blue Pact states.

    When I’ve made expressions of certain justice, I often received, almost perfunctory, responses like, “yeah, wake me up when they get perp walked.”

    I generally dismiss such notions for what they are, frustration management, and we all need a lot of that.

    I agree with our host, that justice will be served, but of late the only thing underpinning that agreement is hope.

    Will our host tell us, why do you have faith that justice will be served?

    I ask, only to have my faith restored.

      I read some of the comments, and some of the commenters were suggesting that Karl Denninger should be the Attorney General.

      That made me kind of sad, because what if President Trump had that kind of AG? People blame him for choosing Bill Barr, but Barr had, on paper, what passes for the right stuff, and who else was he going to get who would do much better?

      At least Barr brought that Mueller thing to an end.

          Agree and disagree. He looks wholesome outwardly, unlike say Schiff. This makes him incredibly effective and dangerous. A smiling rogue. Try cross examining him. Utterly unflappable.

          Trump didn’t do his homework. Just like with Fauci and Kennedy. Just two famous guys. Trump likes fame. He chose Kennedy but Jared told him to pick Fauci. So he picked Fauci.

        Beryl, I read the same article. He really delineates exactly what’s wrong and what would fix it. It’s so tantalizing to understand that we already have the laws in place if we would simply implement them. Of course, we already know that as we watch the cities being destroyed by feral humans who aren’t subject to any existing laws.

        I suspect a large hindrance to Trump was his ego, which would make it difficult for him to work with and retain the kind of people he needed in his administration – people who didn’t have other agendas, and wouldn’t shmooze him. He has a problem admitting he could be wrong, as we saw with his continued promotion of the vaxx as his great accomplishment. He did accomplish quite a few things, and I credit him with all of them, but the self aggrandisement and ego are his big flaws.

        There are no heroes and Barr mos def is not one. Like his dad, CIA. His dad ran the Dalton School, hired J Epstein. Barr as CIA lawyer goes way back with Clinton Inc too, told the then Governor of Arkansas, “Don’t fuck up, they’ve got their eye on you for that job you’ve always wanted…” At the time (GHW Bush administration) they were one big happy family running cocaine out of Mena, Ark.

    Maybe all along the laptop was held in reserve to make sure Biden did exactly as he was told. And I think you’re right, he’s used up and Hunter is a liability.

    Prosecuting Hunter would serve an even bigger purpose for the Democrats — they could claim that “no one is above the law! See! We’re even prosecuting the President’s son!” The fraud is apparent to anyone who’s paid attention but will be grabbed by the virtue signalers as proof they’re ethical. The fact it’s been covered up for over two years will be explained as conscientious vetting.

      I think the reason they are covering the laptop now is that it won’t hurt Joe’s reelection chances because he isn’t going to last that long, and more important they get to pretend they are bringing the truth out, while they actually are confusing the public.

      Did I not hear about Hunter’s iCloud account being hacked? The laptop has evidence that Hunter is a pig who uses too many drugs.

      It’s the hack that stands to incriminate God knows how many other very well connected people.
      The laptop is old news, people won’t pay too much attention because they think they’ve heard it already.

        They’ve bled the drama out of the laptop story by a slow drip, drip, drip of information over the last two years. But there’s still political benefit from keeping it on the margins of the news as a red herring to distract from bigger crimes.

        I’m amazed they’ve been able to prop up Biden for so long but this guy is fading fast. He’s always sitting down (from what I’ve seen) and leaves DC on Thursdays for Delaware. What an embarrassment to the US that he’s our president.

        Just watched a You Tube describing the real estate bust that has already started. He showed that the number 2 non bank mortgage company has just filed chapter 11 bankruptcy and other are going to follow it. number one was Rocket, I do not remember number 2 name but it is based in Dallas.

        His point though is that this will burden the availability of getting mortgages, credit, for the housing industry by all levels including the big banks. He mentioned Wells Fargo and Bank of America in the top 5.

        The frackers are in competition with these creditors. If housing cannot get capital for loans, where are oil companies going to get their loans?

        Get it? Biden wins here again in his anti FF campaign.

            Prices are just starting to react. Inventories for sale are skyrocketing and there are fewer buyers. The investment piece of the action is reacting and starting to liquidate un wanted houses. the pace is about to take off and will significantly add on to the downturn.

            One thing I will say about Obama right now. His administration reacted quickly to the 2008 downturn and put enough new capital in place to blunt its impact.

            I saw a piece on the news last night about the largest growth in homelessness was the baby boomer generation. They interviewed a woman who is living in her car with her daughter & grandchild. She said her apartment rent went up 30% and she was evicted.

            A sane country was what we used to be — sort of. At the very least, people could live on minimum wage in the 1970s and provide the basics for themselves and have a roof over their heads. You could see a GP and pay a reasonable fee without health insurance. A university education meant you could pass freshman English and write a research paper.

            I get the impression that most countries around the world consider it a function of government to make sure the basics are available for the population.
            So you see countries in Africa, for instance, refusing to starve their people by following US sanctions on Russia.
            You see other leaders talking about building housing, but it’s always in the context of providing housing for the population.
            It’s only here that proudly proclaimed “housing starts” have absolutely NO relation to housing needs.
            They are cutting down forests to build houses that no one will live in because they are unaffordable.
            But hey! That makes the GDP go up, and that is all the talking heads and the media slurpers care about.

          John, I think the frackers were able to keep getting loans partly because of the easy money but also partly because they were actually producing. However, it looks like the industry as a whole is peaking and that’s not good. Without the USA as a major producer of new oil and gas, any new QE is more likely to become white hot inflation rather than any kind of productive collateral to provide a hope of paying off future debt. To make matters worse, we’ve decommissioned lots of coal plants for the last decade resulting in more natural gas for electricity. It worked because of the rapid increases in fracking nat gas production, however the decline rate of those wells is likely going to be almost vertical as well. At the moment, we have produced record amounts of natural gas, however our reserves are very low and prices are increasing thanks to FJB shipping it away. Keeping the whole 3-ring circus running with renewables has become a cruel joke, but amazingly too many people haven’t gotten the punch line yet.

            My sister’s car broke down in New Mexico and she ended up staying on a hill for a couple of days.
            Watching the flaring going on drove her nuts.
            They did it in the Dakotas also and I saw it in Texas.

      The downside of the market six months ago was the indicator for this recession. Even the Great Depression did not start until months after the stock market crashed in 1929.

      The stock market is a leading indicator for GNP. It responds to interest rates. Right now the market is in a holding pattern, up then down then up, waiting to see what Powell does. If rates keep going up, you will see your downturn.

          Your 401 should be used only is it is an emergency situation. Otherwise you are losing the principal you depend on to recover on the next upswing.

          I am no guru, but I think if the negative growth continues for two more quarters and inflation continues to rise because the Biden mob stops Powell, I will be hanging on waiting for big changes to occur. If it moves that way long enough, consumer demand drops and deflation starts. Deflation is what makes big depressions.

          We are at a very dangerous tipping point right now. Watch Powell and the Mobs reaction to him. for example, Manchin, caving in to the Mob, may be creating a much deeper recession. AZ senator has yet to be heard from.

          Hey Kevin you probably did the right thing. Nonetheless, it might be awhile until your wisdom is obvious to all since the dollar domino may be one of the later ones to fall. There is a lot of panicked money from different countries that flee to the US and the dollar as a perceived source of stability. Money is coming in from Europe for example. Also, a lot of so called developing countries took out loans in dollars and now that oil price is high, it’s helping drive up the dollar index. The high dollar/high oil price combo is causing pain in a lot of places (e.g, Sri Lanka) as more of their cheap currency is needed to obtain dollars to service their debt. So it might keep the dollar stronger for the moment but in the end it will surely crash and burn in a hyperinflationary fiat currency holocaust the likes of which the world has never seen.

    Biden did not blink in the video the other day because the video was highly edited. Fox News showed all of the various cuts in the video. Practically every sentence or statement was jump cut. It was very obvious—-the camera was zooming in and out from different angles. The man cannot complete a coherent paragraph on his own. Love the way he lies and distorts reality in front of reporters and then turns and walks away like a senile old coot so he doesn’t have to answer questions.

I doubt that the perpetrators of the Russiagate Hoax will ever be disciplined.       The trouble is, about half of the working population of the US is employed by one of these corrupt institutions: they’re on the payroll. Most of the rest of the population is dependent on government in other ways, some for welfare and food stamps, some for medical care and pharmaceuticals. These people will become disaffected only when the money runs out–which, given the declining value of the dollar, is far from impossible. Actually, it’s almost a certainty.

      So what’s the backup plan? I don’t see any way to keep all these people on the payroll in a hyperinflationary environment–that is, when paying them in dollars is about the same as paying them in toilet paper. And there aren’t a lot of other options, since it is generally conceded that pretty much all other currencies are even more worthless than the dollar. You can’t pay them in commodities (food, clothing, shelter). Productivity is declining apace.

      While it should be quite easy to increase productivity, this does not seem to be the plan. If you give people economic freedom and don’t confiscate all or most of their labor products, they will be highly productive. But this obviously does not serve the interest of elites.

      The plan seems to be the destruction of productivity, together with a debased or worthless currency and a dearth of all the necessities of life. This is pretty clearly a plan for genocide.

      Maybe the elites’ thinking is, “I can only afford to pay X percentage of the population to support me; therefore, the rest must die.” But there could be many other motives for genocide, so this idea may be simplistic.

    I guess I will have to be no.1 to caste doubt on the discussion today.

    The Deep State is both Dem and GOP. Trump won because he represented the people in 2016, the people displaced by Obama. Mostly white, mostly working class who lost their jobs to Obama’s high corporate tax rates.

    The Deep State is in control in this country. The are worthless other than being able to pull the wool over their constituents eyes.

    And controlling the whole judicial system. The fact that the investigation of the last election was IGNORED and SUPPRESSED by judicial elements from day 0 shows how little justice exists in the country. Everyone is due their day in court under the Constitution, but not Trump and his lawyers.

    The biased DOJ has never been more evident than right now. The Deep State is scared to death of Trumpism in the country and will put the kabosh on any counter movement. Hence Hunter, Durham, Steele, Barr, Ukraine corruption, Ukraine whistleblowers, the current field of FBI creeps, everything is aimed at keeping the Deplorables in check.

    The Deep State is a mob. Yeah, in the old sense of a mob. They are connected up to the topmost levels in the world, not just America. They control all hierarchies of the US. To stop their corruption, you need someone or something with power more than theirs.

    Right now, that does not exist in the country. Who is going to impeach the Deep State. Impeach Biden, uh huh, he will be replaced by another puppet. Win 2022, uh huh, the RINOs will control DC, no difference and it will take forty years to replace enough of the people that count, like it did for the Dems now.

    That is why, IMHO, that the only way out is secession by a big part of the US. Reform a big chunks of the states under a strict interpretation of the Constitution and tell all the malcontents to GTF out. Then build a wall keeping the border from Mexico, Canada and the Blues in place.

    The chances of that are nigh onto nil. Hence my negative reaction to “things are going to get better. The Deep State controls the ballot box now so nothing peaceable is ever going to change.

    The path to global control is set now, even some GOP victories in the fall will not change that.

      Perhaps JHK views our situation like Dimitri Orlov does. That we will be hit by waves of “localization”, and that one morning soon we’ll all wake up and the entire country collectively realizes that it’s over. It’s what happened in the early 90’s when it was suddenly announced that there is no more Soviet Union. No more cold war. The entire nation of Russia was suddenly all on the same page as to what their future was going to be.

      When living conditions in the USA get bad enough due to lack of access to imported goods, the population might shift their support over completely to state and local govenments and just ignore whatever the feds are doing. Once the dollar fails, the US government will lose its credibility. It will be just as broke as everybody else and unable to pay bills, at least not with real money. When motor fuels becomed rationed or unavailable, the USA will change into a place just as gigantic as it was in 1830. Washington DC will suddenly be very far away and difficult to get to.

      At this time, Russia will be in a very special place of global leadership that will be the envy of the rest of the world. The reason for that will be simple. Russia is now conservative and Christian, along with possessing vast natural resources. The unified Russian Orthodox version of Christianity might be the real bogeyman that terrifies the West. Starting with the Reformation, the Western Church has shattered into tens of thousands of fragments that cannot work together or agree on much of anything. At the moment, chunks of the Methodist Church are splintering off and engaged in lawsuits against the old mother Methodist Church. The Roman Catholic Church today is a nest of pedophiles and gay people wearing funny hats and fancy slippers. I can go on and on with more examples, like the high divorce rates among the Southern Baptists and problems they are having with pedophiles working in church youth groups. The Jacobins have been working hard ever since the late 1700’s to destroy the Church. They’ve been very successful up to now, but the Church is rising again in the East and this may spoil their plans.

      The United States wants to go to war against the largest country on the planet as well as a country that has a unified and state supported church? If war with Russia goes badly for us and leads to the end of the United States and the EU, it’s unlikely we’ll have enough unity to put together a new federal government. We’ll be too preoccupied with the endless emergencies we’ll be experiencing inside our individual states. With so much drama at home, we won’t be worrying anymore about what’s happening overseas.

If things get really bad, maybe they’ll throw someone to the wolves to satisfy the nation’s blood-lust — remember Admiral Poindexter during Iran-Contra? The affair involved a calque of security officials selling US weapons to its sworn enemy — how is this anything other than high treason? — yet a completed nobody was fingered to take the fall, and even then his conviction was overturned.

    I won’t even go into the “lone nutjob” story about the JFK assassination, whose bullet evidently made a U-turn in mid air to strike the president from the front. Or the two-panes-took-down-three-buildings story about 9/11, The official stories are too ridiculous to even argue about, yet the stories stand as the official explanation to this day. People were murdered, and no one was held accountable.

    What is the evidence for the belief that there will be any sufficient investigation or punishment for the malfeasance of the last 18 months?

    The counter-evidence is nobody meaningful went to jail for the financial crisis, including the management of Man Financial that co-mingled customer accounts with their own. No investigation and punishment of the Saudi agents in the U.S. who funded 9/11. No government, media, or general public recognition that the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were based on horseshit.

    What are the compelling instances in the last 40 years where meaningful wrongs by meaningful people were punished?

    About Ukaine- I had been thinking about how it came to be that the man elected as a reformer by the Ukrainian people. just happened to be in on the corruption up to his eyeballs.

    I could understand it if they passed off some newcomer groomed by the old hacks as the Hope and Change of the people.

    After all, that’s what happened in this country, when they shoved aside one of the Old Guard Democrats for Barack Obama.

    Peple were fooled.

    So I fully understand that people get fooled in this way.

    The part I don’t get is this:

    People talk about the fact that the new president was formerly a comedian, so how could he become a successful president.

    Yes, he was a comedian, but also a dancer and an actor. Evidently a very good all-round entertainer.

    So, where does someone who has put in the time and hard work it takes to become an entertainer at that level, find the time to get so deep in dirt?

    That’s the missing part- how did he get that way, where did they find him? When did this ‘conversion’ happen?

    Another thing- why did he seemingly just elect to blow his own cover, with that ridiculous Vogue shoot?

    It has a “fiddling while room burns” quality to it?

    If “they” are done with him, and want to ease him out, why would he consent to participate?

      He ran on a ”Peace with Donbass” campaign and won over America’s choice, Poroshenko, with about 73% of the vote.
      And the citizens of Donbass weren’t allowed to vote.
      I think it was a “a carpet of gold or a carpet rolled up with your corpse in it and dumped into the ocean like is traditional in Pakistan and Ukraine” thing.
      It doesn’t take a lot of training to learn how to take bribes.
      And he probably didn’t realize how people would take the Vogue cover.

      “There was a breaking point early into Zelensky’s presidency where he and his team was made aware of the position of both president and parliament in Ukraine in the overall pecking order. The chiefly ceremonial transition of power was still in progress, coupled with nearly a month of relative calm devoid of street action by right-wing radical organizations, as they too reassessed whether they still had state backing or would be held accountable for past misdeeds.
      Suddenly, hostilities on the front-line with Donbas resumed, and with such ferocity that it spilled over onto the UN platform and threatened to bury the Minsk agreement there and then. Zelensky was basically called to the front with this provocation, which gave us the notorious exchange of him trying to dress down the military: “I’m 40-something years old and I’m the president — I’m not some shmuck.” The military told him to go fuck himself and that they would do what they want, that they do not answer to him. That much was obvious by infuriated statements made by his cadre on return to Kiev.
      Back in Kiev, Zelensky and his party of clowns attempted to push back by quickly formulating a law proposal, restricting the use of weapons on the front-lines to only be used in response. Needless to say, this stirred such a hornet’s nest that the proposal was scuttled before the ink had time to dry; perhaps someone was even made to eat the paper.
      That week it was made apparent to everyone that neither the president nor a parliamentary majority had any control over the military or security services. Protests by right-wing radicals erupted all over, with police supervision. Court-houses and government buildings were stormed, the president’s office was vandalized and the state appointed security detail responsible for “protecting” Zelensky abandoned their positions for the duration. The message was unequivocal — the nationalists are in control of all state organizations capable of projecting force and the political establishment is merely a figleaf on a military junta.
      Following this cold shower, team Zelensky reorganized the party apparatus who hadn’t even had time to warm up their seats, they rubber-stamped the advisory positions of prominent neo-Nazi figureheads to positions within both political and security organizations — presumably, for the people actually in charge to have more immediate access to their respective areas of responsibility. The only aspect that wasn’t flipped like a pancake was the conciliatory rhetoric coming out of Zelensky — in this, he was braver than his spokespeople who put on their brown shirts almost immediately.”

    I agree with Jim completely. A well-timed, tragic and sudden death of our President (conveniently from long COVID, no doubt) would be just the thing to throw off the coming mid-term elections and would certainly explain the sudden secret shysty visits by Gavin Newsome to the White House.

    After what they put President Trump through, I have no doubt that this is their game plan and if I were President Biden, I would be very afraid. He has served his purpose, but his constant and over-whelming blunders have put him at odds with his own party and his own staff and wouldn’t his death just wrap up the whole Hunter Biden laptop story nicely? Hunter will just disappear into history with his many baby mamas.

        I have seen plenty of Dominicans and Muslims of some sort sending off large sums of cash, but this is the first I’ve seen the service to Haiti available.

        I don’t know why it was necessary as the store has Western Union, but someone obviously believes there is money in doing business between the US and Haiti at this particular point in time.

    I hope you’re right about things coming to light, James. There’s no doubt the Democrats need to be wiped out in November, but I’m not sure Trump is the answer, either. His administration did a lot of evil in the Middle East, largely a result of his appointment of people like Mike Pompeo, John Bolton, Gina Haspel and James Jeffrey. I don’t think Soleimani could have been assassinated without his go-ahead.

    I’m still of the opinion that Merkins need to embrace 3rd parties and eventually settle on the Deep State’s feared “red-brown” alliance. We’re starting to see that with Jimmy Dore and Naomi Wolf’s cooperation with Steve Bannon. The biggest problem right now is money in politics and a monopolistic media. All that is part of what drives the MIC and China bashing as well.

    Another articulate but very very optimistic blog by JHK. My experience is that corruption runs so deep, from down in circuit courts in most if not all states, and all the way up to the DOJ and FBI, that NOTHING will be done. Just look at the Ghislaine situation; none of the child rapists are even being outed much less tried and convicted.

    COMINTERN’s motto is ‘by any means necessary.’ And that’s what they’re doing. Also recall that many city admins and state admins are full of WEF ‘graduates’ with psychotic fantasies of being among the sovereigns when everyone else makes no more than 1k per month.

    The only optimistic thing I’ve seen lately is that Texas and OK are holding public referendums in Q1 of 2023 regarding secession. Many other states are talking about it. One can only dream.

    Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser has requested that the D.C. National Guard be activated indefinitely to respond to migrant buses arriving in the district, according to reports.

    The request also seeks permission to use the D.C. Armory, a multi-purpose arena located east of the Capitol Building, as a processing center as more than 150 buses traveling from Arizona and Texas have transported nearly 4,000 migrants to the nation’s capital over the past three months. Bowser and the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management initially sent letters to President Joe Biden and the Office of the Secretary of Defense in a letter on July 19 but have not yet received a response.

    “The pace of arriving buses and the volume of arrivals have reached tipping points,” Bowser wrote. “Our collective response and service efforts have now become overwhelmed. … Tragically, many families arrive in Washington, DC with nowhere to go, or they remain in limbo seeking onward destinations across the United States.”

    Since mid-April, more than 125 buses have transported 4,800 migrants from Texas border communities — such as the Rio Grande Valley, Del Rio, Uvalde, and Eagle Pass — nearly 2,000 miles to Washington. Gov. Doug Ducey (R-AZ) commenced a similar initiative in mid-May and has had 27 buses carrying more than 1,000 passengers from the border to D.C. in that time, according to spokeswoman Morgan Carr.

    Still the complaining. Only a few recognizing the actions of a cornered animal. Not, not by the people – they’re hardly a threat – but the Big 3 (overshoot, depletion, degradation).

    If you knew what they know – actually, you do but consistently choose to focus elsewhere – you’d be doing the same exact thing as well.

    Watch their actions – it couldn’t be more clear that the end of the debt money system will destroy their entire power base – so they’re willing to possibly engage in a nuclear war to prevent:

    – loss control of critical resources that would allow further expansion

    – control of self same resources being secured by competing parties backing a hard, commodities based monetary system

    If you step back and consider the broader POV, it becomes crystal that political problems are similar to the personal travails Bogey described in Casablanca.

    It’s nothing really compared to the looming globalist extinction event. Know that, and everything taking place on the daily lines up in perfect logical order.

    They mean to survive by any means possible, if not emerge outright winners. Whatever cultural traditions, legal responsibilities or simply honor and duty may yet still remain, are all on the table to be sacrificed as needed.

    Jul. 29—December 19, 2015 was supposed to be a night to celebrate for Hamzah Al-Jahmi, of Dearborn, instead it quickly turned to tragedy.

    The 19-year-old boxer was in Youngstown, Ohio for a night called “Season’s Beating” where he was paid $500 to get in the ring, his first time as a professional fighter.

    He had been training for that night since he was 12-years-old, and wanted more than anything to be the next Muhammad Ali, according to family.

    The fight was deadly.

          The role of the carriers to day is to get their planes on mission before they are sunk. They are still necessary for the US mission, since WW2, to protect the seaways. Their survival is not necessary.

          China is challenging us in Asia now. Remember the islands they have built. When they claimed sea lanes around them, they drove our carriers far enough away from the China coast to keep the planes out of reach. That is why we are making a big deal about the South China Sea.

        One carrier has more air firepower on it than most countries on the earth.

    I learn of 3 athletes’ death in a day or 2. and there are others.

    Ernst, who graduated from Iowa City West, earned First-Team All-MVC honors after her freshman season.

    “UNI has lost a beloved member of the Panther family with the sudden passing of Lily Ernst,” UNI Director of Athletics Daivd Harris said. “This loss is heartbreaking for our swimming and diving team, our athletic department and the entire UNI campus. We offer our deepest condolences to Lily’s family, teammates and friends.”

    Ernst was a multi-time state qualifier for Iowa City West. As a senior, her team came in second in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

    “Lily was so filled with kindness and compassion for other people. She was a ferocious competitor in the pool and classroom, but for those that knew her best she was extremely empathetic and cared deeply about everyone in her life,” UNI head swimming and diving coach Nick Lakin said. “We will all miss her immensely and are praying for everyone that knew her.”

    The university did not release a cause of death.

        Dis, there are attorneys who specialize in this sort of thing. Basically they form a trust with them as a trustee and you as beneficiary. If the trust is recorded, you as beneficiary are not listed, so you remain anonymous. But you better be careful in whom you pick. Also take a picture of yourself holding the winning ticket, which you keep to yourself. Of course this is unnecessary as everybody knows attorneys are very, very trustworthy /sarc.

            No, it does not require such things for all. It requires sitting meditation and mindfulness in daily life. Those other things are optional.

I go along with the natural makeup, strike in the big hollows, guide the knife through the big openings, and following things as they are. So I never touch the smallest ligament or tendon, much less a main joint.

            “A good cook changes his knife once a year — because he cuts. A mediocre cook changes his knife once a month — because he hacks. I’ve had this knife of mine for nineteen years and I’ve cut up thousands of oxen with it, and yet the blade is as good as though it had just come from the grindstone. There are spaces between the joints, and the blade of the knife has really no thickness. If you insert what has no thickness into such spaces, then there’s plenty of room — more than enough for the blade to play about it. That’s why after nineteen years the blade of my knife is still as good as when it first came from the grindstone.

            “However, whenever I come to a complicated place, I size up the difficulties, tell myself to watch out and be careful, keep my eyes on what I’m doing, work very slowly, and move the knife with the greatest subtlety, until — flop! the whole thing comes apart like a clod of earth crumbling to the ground. I stand there holding the knife and look all around me, completely satisfied and reluctant to move on, and then I wipe off the knife and put it away.”*

If you had damning national security info or whatever it seems like in a normal country you could convene what you needed to even if Congress is on break. How silly right?     Peter barfed in a waste basket this morning. We’re lucky it wasn’t on the carpeted floor.

    But on a side note:

    My wife has a cousin Bob who is married to Phyllis. Phyllis has a brother (that would be Bob’s B-I-L). Whenever Bo and I would get together with Bob and Phyllis, our respective brothers/BILs would be our only topic of conversation.

    I thought no one could top the stories about Peter but this other dude (don’t know his name) made Peter look normal. He (Phyllis’s brother) is bi-polar. I won’t even attempt to pass along the tales of his bizarre antics. Not long ago, 2-3 months I think, Phyllis put him in a nursing home. Last night we got word that he died there at age 63. I don’t understand what makes a mental case person die at an early age. Maybe Neurodoc can shed some light.

        Mental illness is associated with substance abuse, cigarette smoking, obesity, diabetes, heart disease etc.. Mentally ill people tend to not take very good care of themselves – poor diet, lack of exercise, lack of medical care.     I always find it fascinating when otherwise seemingly intelligent people advise others to excise from themselves characteristics that are fundamental to human beings, without which – even if we were capable of removing them – we wouldn’t be human.

    So now, according to MitchellC, we’re to dispose of both ego and emotions, as if such an absurdity could ever be possible. Interestingly, this belief in human metamorphosis motivates every historical creator of a utopian system (Marxism, Fascism, etc.) they hope to inflict on their fellow beings. If they could just eliminate certain aspects of human nature (the ones that get in their way) by punishing people until they stop it!

    Yet – in the old Soviet Union, even the threat of being sent to the gulag wasn’t enough to stop people from displaying the whole range of human qualities.

        I don’t know about salvation, but I think the general gist of several spiritual traditions is that the physical, emotional, and mental nature are supposed to be brought under the control of the spiritual nature–the “true self.” Body-mind-emotions are really just mechanical things–like your car. We easily see that the body is basically a machine, and we don’t have much trouble seeing the mind as being a computer, but people seem to have trouble seeing the emotional nature as mostly just the endocrine system at work. There is an interplay between the mind and the body as to what prompts many endocrine reactions, but that does not mean that you should confuse the emotional nature with the soul.

        The self (or soul, I guess most would say) is both who you truly are and also the life that animates the other three planes. You are most fully human when the self controls the other three planes. The effect of control by the self is that the emotions are cultured and deepened and refined–not eradicated. The effect of soul-control on the mind is high development of the intellect. The effect on the body is that we are not ruled by physical passions and urges like gluttony, lust, sloth, etc.

        What we think of as “the personality” is really analogous to a computer’s GUI (graphical user interface, like Windows). It’s a tool that we use to interface with the world–mostly the world of other humans. So “the personality” is not the true self either.

        So spiritual development doesn’t mean “stripping away” the emotions or ego (the personality); it means that they are purified and elevated. You know the difference between evil or corrupt or childish displays of emotion and the emotions displayed by a cultivated person, right?

        In theory, maybe the complete purification of the body-mind-emotions-ego complex could bring about the condition of a “glorified body,” that is, a perfected physical nature that has attained eternal life. Or maybe not.

            I just looked up the definition of “nirvana.” It is “a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of Buddhism.”

            In Christianity, this is not the goal. To become “holy” in order to escape suffering is really kind of a negative expression of “prosperity theology,” where the objective of being religious is to get rich. Neither is “stamping out desire” a goal–and certainly not stamping out the self.

            There is a passage in one of Alan Watts’s books where he talks about suffering being experienced with joy. (I don’t want to go looking for the exact quote.) It really does work that way–though most often in hindsight. Ones tough times are often–if not always–ones happiest times, even some of life’s peak experiences. For example, childbirth is one of life’s peak experiences.

            Desires are not to be “stamped out,” but controlled and refined. E.g., a person’s sexual desires could be expressed by watching porn, or they could be expressed in terms like Tennyson’s poem, “Come into the Garden, Maude”:

            There has fallen a splendid tear
            From the passion-flower at the gate.
            She is coming, my dove, my dear;
            She is coming, my life, my fate;
            The red rose cries, “She is near, she is near;”
            And the white rose weeps, “She is late;”
            The larkspur listens, “I hear, I hear;”
            And the lily whispers, “I wait.”

            or Christina Rosetti’s, “A Birthday”:

            My heart is like a singing bird
            Whose nest is in a water’d shoot;
            My heart is like an apple-tree
            Whose boughs are bent with thickset fruit;
            My heart is like a rainbow shell
            That paddles in a halcyon sea;
            My heart is gladder than all these
            Because my love is come to me.

            or the song:

            Where Lagan streams sings lullaby
            There blooms a lily fair

            One does not seek to stamp out “the sense of self,” but to perfectly express it in its uniqueness. You are one of an infinite number of unique beings created by God to be unique–and perfect at the same time. An oak tree doesn’t become perfect by becoming a generic “tree,” or by becoming something entirely amorphous. It is most perfect as it is most perfectly an oak, and most perfectly an individual an oak, with all its burls and unique grain.

            This is why there are so many different kinds of saints: desert hermits (St. Anthony), aristocratic ladies (St. Elizabeth of Hungary), warriors (Joan of Arc), and ditzy little things like St. Theresa of Lisieux (The Little Flower), who was noteworthy for not being noteworthy.

            Your job (“the work”) here on earth is to perfectly manifest your unique “self” on the physical plane, working with an unruly physical body, unruly and erratic emotions, and a mind that wants to be a runaway train.

      If one graduates from University (say a real one), does one forget all that one learned in high school (say a real one) – or is that earlier learning maintained and fulfilled in the higher?

      Does one accept every little thought and feeling that arises because “It’s human” or even better, because “It’s yours”? As Nietzsche said, “Human, all too human.” Needless to say, many thoughts and feelings are unworthy and untrue – even if they are yours.

      This life is a school. Linger not. Don’t be the big kid (say a girl like Britney Griner) sitting at the back with a dunce cap on. The point is to graduate not glorify your ignorance or even the school itself.

The school and the bureaucrats kept insisting that what that REALLY meant was that I had to be a MEMBER of such a religion–and I had to prove it.

            Obviously, since I was within the requirements of black-letter law on this matter, I won.

        Variants are survivors of prior immune responses. IOW, they escaped somehow from the alpha vaxx. Remember that all we heard about was antibodies without much word on T memory cells.

        Two things may be happening,

        One, the antibodies are temporary, the body hates inflammation and tear down antibodies quickly. So if there are little memory cells created, you are wide open in a few months.

        Two, the variants themselves. If the surface s proteins of survivors do not trigger the antibody attack, then a whole new immune response must occur. IOW, we start from ground zero.

        Covid is wicked like the flu. Hopefully, it will modify to a smaller impact version with succeeding generations.

        Prevention? Shut down the labs one, and stop eating wild animal meat.

          My wife had a friend that did not get the vaxx. She never paid any attention to the keep your distance rules and travelled by plane a great deal.

          She got it bad. But after a few days of treatment, seemed to get better.

          Then the hammer fell, she desatted, went on the vent and died quickly.

          The short getting better interlude seems to be fairly common amongst the seriously ill folks.

            When this mess in the Ukraine (created when the US overthrew yet another legitimate government, replaced this time with Nazis), the Russian Federation put out rather clearly retaliation for interfering with their SMO was on the table.

            My initial thoughts at the time was they might do a small-scale demo with one of their superior weapon systems. Vaporizing Ramstein probably would have been a good wakeup call.

            They could then ask the US/UK/NATO tag team if they’d like a time-out for some serious discussion. Maybe up to 5 minutes to let the impact sink in, then decide: discuss or persist.

            Maybe Rottterdam next, just set a few vessels on fire using one of their high-tech torpedoes, let it spread. Sure would seal the deal for a frigid winter in Europe.

            Fast forward: the EU clown show seems to be doing itself in all on its own with vacant promises from the JB avatar. The Russian Federation can probably just sit back in watch and wait mode.

            The Poles get a chunk of territory back, the ‘bread basket of Europe’ is branded Russian, along with some warm water ports on the Black Sea, and the territory of Galicia/Ukraine is once again subject to new line-drawing on a map.

    Monkey pox

    Just read an article about Monkeypox startup.

    It has been endemic in Nigeria for a long time. It would show up periodically, suspected passed from animals, then quickly burn itself out as it was not contagious human to human.

    Until 2017.

    The doctor that has been at the forefront of the epidemic in Nigeria saw the first victim this time, a young boy. He noticed other folks getting the pox, many more than normal, and started an epidemiological study. He found through time that the pox virus has changed (??) and has become able to transmit skin to skin. He noticed that the pox locations shifted to around the genitals on most patients. He did sex histories on the affected folks and found sexual promiscuity to be the transmission route, especially homosexuals.

    He presented the data to a global conference on the increase on Monkeypox and was told to “shut up” about the sexual aspects of transmission. He continues his work in Nigeria.

    I assume the WHO is a bad character here. The doctor stated that no one paid any attention to his work until the pox was found in Europe and then started spreading rapidly. It is currently going world wide and spreading rapidly. The extremely intelligent governor of New York has ordered a mask mandate against monkey pox. I would think if a mask was used as it should be, it would be damned uncomfortable and would dull the experience. Just another example of a dumb power hungry Democrat.

    My take? The virus mutated somehow, maybe with human help, to be contagious through sexual contact. Of course it is going to spread through promiscuity, in people with perverted attitudes about sex. The bath house mentality of homosexuals is fertile ground, as it was for the Herpes virus leading to AIDS. That Herpes virus infected the same groups that Monkeypox seems to be invading. Could it be some one does not approve of promiscuity? I read somewhere the smallpox vaccine works against Monkeypox and millions of doses are being prepared. True? Who needs to get it? Who pays for it? I expect we will be hearing from the LBGTQ crowd in short order.

          Nonsense. On average, gay men are FAR more promiscuous than straight men. Early on in the AIDS epidemic, before the virus was identified, I read a research report in “The New England Journal of Medicine”. The authors tried to do contract tracing of AIDS patients in New York City in hopes of identifying the cause of AIDS. Their findings: the average AIDS patient had had gay sex with over 1,000 men in the previous year. Not only did they not know the names of many of those men, they had not seen the faces of many of them. I repeat, that was the AVERAGE. Their conclusion was that contact tracing was hopeless.

      Tucker had a segment about the Chinese buying up land next to some of our bases so they could listen in on high level communications. How is this allowed? No one seems willing or able to do anything. The market (amoral at the best of times) is the only sacred thing left – and it isn’t sacred.

      For the Taiwanese, it may not matter that much anyway. China is no longer Communist and even the free nations of East Asia live under social constraints that we would find onerous. East Asians produce powerful, centralized nations with compliant populations. China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan are all like that.

      It will matter for in terms of political free speech of course and thus to those who value or engage in that. In other ways, not so much. It’s not worth the life of one American soldier. If we really had wanted a Western Taiwan, we wouldn’t have given the People’s Republic of China so much of our industrial base.

      North Korea is an anomaly, still toiling under a repressive Communist type dictatorship which quashes the people completely. They would do well to join with South Korea or imitate China.

    I would suggest shifting focus and consider the dilemma from a thinker’s perspective: how to cause commoners to reduce consumption without alarming the herd.

    That’s right, mayhem, disruption and resignation. Which is why a positive, goal oriented approach is utilized to help motivate and encourage people to feel part of a coordinated team effort.

Nobody is talking about a reduced lifestyle, minimalism or disruption; indeed, the Green Future is bright, a cornucopia of free energy produced by nature, cost free driving, and a stable climate where it is never too warm, never too cold, but perfect. Apparently, once the Green New Deal and all that goes with it is adopted, nirvana awaits.

    The worst news: Bill Russell has died. As far as I’m concerned he was the NBA GOAT. He stood for everything desirable in a person. He suffered for being Black in Boston. People should read whatever books were written about him.

    I loved Ted Williams the most (because I loved baseball the most, I suppose), but Russell was Boston’s greatest athlete.

    He was 88, so I guess his death was not shocking.

          Long ago, I was on a mission to learn to make the perfect pie crust. (This is a high art.) After several tries, my ex and I visited his parents, and his mother served a frozen pie from the grocery store–which she claimed she had made herself.

          My ex (knowing I was working on pie crust) commented, “This is the way I like my pie crust.”

          So I thought, “Why bother? You are married to a pie-crust Philistine.”

    As I have said before here , ( but not lately ) the way I remember it , all this LGBT/ pedo stuff started with white bread heterosexuals claiming they had a right to follow their heart —

    — the unspoken part being that they have a right to follow their heart no matter how it otherwise totally fucks up the society as a whole.

    — which is pretty much the exact formula the LGBT / pedo crowd are following.

    The sexual revolution may have started with the pill , free love , Hugh Hefner and John Holmes ,

    But all that ended at least 30 years ago.

    ( and has been pretty much memory – holed. Who the fuck was Linda Lovelace ? )

    Since then it has been passing the buck and scapegoating others FOR THEIR OWN POLICIES AND PREMISES.

    ( which , likewise, is what the LGBT / pedo crowd themselves do ; endlessly scapegoat others for their own policies and premises. )

    Certainly zero talk of alternatives, like , ” Maybe arranged marriages , marriages of convenience, and unmentioned red light districts, weren’t such a bad system after all ? ”

    Or , ” maybe the cult of romantic love was a half – baked , largely bullshit , theory that rich folks pulled out of their asses ? ”

    Nothing like that.

    Just different groups vying for the privilege of who gets to play the role of Witch – Finder General.

    Well I seem to be in a tiny minority who always felt that paying someone millions of dollars to play ball was absurd , and in many ways plain disgusting.

    Not to mention it is just one more totally arbitrary way of dividing folks up into superiors and inferior.

    In this case , instead of the pretense of race or birth , it’s the pretense of merit ,

    as if even one – tenth of the population can realistically afford to spend 5 to 15 hours a day practicing what was formerly a child’s past time.

    Wife carried Peter’s dinner to the 3rd floor this evening. She noticed that something had made a mess in several places on the carpet. It appears that a turd rolled out of Peter’s pants, he stepped on it with bare feet and tracked it all over the place. Bo asked “how could you do that!?!?”. He said “I didn’t know what it was.” I suggested she tell Peter “whenever you see something strange on the floor pick it up and sniff it.”

          Atheism has always seemed very strange to me. I get the impression that atheists are particularly deliberate in their belief. To the point at which you could realistically say it is an inverted sort of faith, say from the perspective of a Christian. Agnostics on the other hand appear to be more thoughtless. Much the same as a person of lukewarm faith who hardly embraces the tradition may seem thoughtless to a true devotee. In any case, it is a super tough reality (the two invariable things) to accept for anyone.

      The Declaration of Independence was War Propaganda.

      I don’t know anyone who has actually studied 18th Century North American British colonial rule who would call it despotic or tyrannical with a straight face.

      ( except extreme Leftists, those who are paid to write such things , and people who are so conformist you don’t even have to pay them to say such ludicrous things.)

      But that is not , finally , what drives me up the wall about the Declaration of Independence.

      Something can be doggerel war propaganda and still contain truth.

      Something can be shot through with the most mendacious of falsehoods and still contain truth.

      No , what irks me so much is not the document itself ,

      But that the Confederate’s, and at least a dozen other nations , have invoked the Declaration of Independence,

      and got bombed back into the stone age for their trouble by the U.S. government, and by Americans.

      You ONLY invoke the Declaration of Independence when it suits you ,

      NEVER when it doesn’t suit you.

    Welp, after about three weeks of shooting AT rabbits with my new .22 from my front porch, I finally killed one this morning. I didn’t butcher it because it was almost time to head for church. (I am trying to stay in a state of grace here, as it’s been quite awhile since I’ve experienced this.)

    Fortunately, I was able to kill another rabbit earlier this evening, so I butchered that one with my new set of hunting knives–suitable for game of just about any size. I also managed to stab myself in the finger and bleed all over the place. Facebook friends have suggested hassenpheffer. The critter in now sitting in the fridge soaking in brine.
