I have some questions for former friends who have dumped me on account of my support for Mr. Trump’s re-election — which is mostly a vote to prevent the Democratic Party and its fellow travelers from running the government. On the whole, these former friends are college-educated, mature in experience, and cultured. Some of them are well-acquainted with history, which is to say, they ought to know better than to support the obviously illiberal motives of the political Left.

Are you against the principle of free speech? The Democratic Party is. They used to be champions of the First Amendment; now they want to make it conditional on ideas and sentiments they support. Contrary ideas are to be labeled “hate speech,” and suppressed, along with anything that might hurt somebody’s feelings. How did you come to such a complete misunderstanding of what free speech means? Namely, that a free society is obliged to tolerate the expression of disagreeable ideas up to the limit, as the Supreme Court put it, of “crying ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.”

I will answer my own question partially by saying: you have been programmed against free speech by what used to be the very vehicles of it, the newspapers and TV News channels, which have, amazingly, come out against freedom of the press and turned into propaganda outlets for Woke Progressivism and its illiberal agenda — thereby inadvertently committing suicide of the entire profession. We’ve seen this acted-out most vividly just the past week in the social media companies’ efforts to suppress all news of the Biden family’s global business operations, along with The New York Times, The Washington Post, CNN, NPR, and other leading news organizations that Americans used to depend on to know what was happening in the nation. This is especially unforgivable during a national election.

Did you support the movement on campus in recent years to shut down events featuring speakers such as Charles Murray (The Bell Curve), Heather Mac Donald of City Journal, Dinesh D’Souza, and many others who represented not-so-Woke ideas that “offended” you? Since when are your feelings so special that they negate the open exchange of ideas in the places that used to be dedicated to it, the universities? Should higher education only entertain ideas that you and your cohorts approve of? What if, in some future, a different cohort gains control of higher education and seeks to exclude your ideas on the grounds that they’re “offensive” (i.e. they just don’t like them)?

Are you in favor of a politicized Department of Justice and CIA? That is what the Democratic Party’s Resistance League deliberately brought about during the 2016 election, and they continue to promote it. Is it okay for bureaucrats to break the law to disable their political adversaries? That was the essence of the RussiaGate ruse. Former employees of those agencies, such as ex-CIA chief John Brennan and Andrew Weissmann, who ran the Mueller investigation, to this day still hype “Russian collusion” falsehoods to deflect attention from their own misdeeds. You let them get away with that.

Is it okay for these government agencies to spy on US citizens without any legal predicate, except their being political adversaries? Would it be okay if that were used against you in some future disposition of things? Is it okay for the FBI to withhold exculpatory evidence in federal court proceedings, thereby obstructing justice? Is it okay for the FBI and CIA to “leak” falsehoods to news reporters for political advantage? Do you not understand how by failing to oppose these actions you undermine the basis of political rectitude in a republic — bearing in mind the literal meaning of the word republic, from the Latin, res publica, the public thing, where civilization lives?

Are you against reason itself? For all your talk about the primacy of science, your agenda militates furiously against it: Math is “racist,” there’s no biological basis for understanding sex, all science is a “white colonial way-of-knowing,” masculinity is “toxic,” women can have penises and men can menstruate. Do you really believe these absurd fantasies manufactured in the graduate schools in the service of academic careerism at all costs — or do you just go along with them for the sake of protecting your own careers and perquisites?

Are you in favor of Antifa riots and the BLM hustle? They are staunchly supported by elected Democratic mayors and governors. These organizations looted and burned down shopping districts in many cities, and Democratic leaders did nothing to stop them. In Portland, Oregon, the nightly riots have continued for over 120 days under Mayor Ted Wheeler and Governor Kate Brown. The nightly riots have ceased to have any genuine political purpose or meaning; rather they’ve degenerated into a party space for energetic young people who can’t otherwise go to clubs, parties, concerts, cafes, or raves during the Covid-19 shut-down. So, rather, they’re enjoying a long-running game of “Cops-and-Robbers” out in the streets, busting things up, setting fires, getting chased around, and waking people up in their homes late at night with bullhorns and heavy metal music. They’re obviously having fun. The police have been forbidden to effectively disperse them, and the Multnomah County DA refuses to prosecute any of them — all of which just inspires the Antifas and BLMs to keep the game going. They have no real stake in the public interest. The net effect is terrible destruction of the city as a functioning civic organism. The Democratic Party has made it all possible. Wait until it comes to your town or city.

Are you in favor of cancel culture? The Democratic Party is addicted to it. Should livelihoods and reputations be destroyed for expressing an opinion, or telling a joke? Is asking someone for a date in the office a firing offense? Were Christine Blasey Ford and Michael Avenatti unimpeachable witnesses during the Brett Kavanaugh SCOTUS hearings? Or was that just an instance of anything goes and nothing matters? How much sadistic pleasure do you suppose has been involved in the professional ruination of men in the media, the arts, and politics? How much of cancel culture and the Me-Too movement have been based on simple coercion, the wish to push other people around, and on vengeance for personal losses and slights?

By the way, did you notice that Jeffrey Toobin has not been fired from his positions at The New Yorker magazine and CNN for jerking-off on-screen during a Zoom meeting of his professional colleagues last week? None of them have even publicly criticized him. Why do you suppose that is? I suppose it’s because he is a favored member of the Woke Journalists club and enjoys special protection from professional ruin — though the truth is he’s thrown away his credibility as a legal commentator, whether the Wokerati like it or not, especially on matters of public conduct. But that’s just one example of the hypocrisy that Wokesterism is full of, and reveals its chronic disingenuous insincerity.

The Democratic Party supports all this pernicious mendacity and bad faith, and more. Joe Biden is the current figurehead of the Party. Mr. Biden pretty clearly has insurmountable defects of his own, first as an international grifter while holding national office, as well as the misfortune of his cognitive decline, which is not his fault, but disqualifies him for high office. As for everybody else in the party, I don’t want such a reliably dishonest gang to be in charge of running the American government. So, I’m voting for Mr. Trump. He’s far from my idea of an ideal candidate, but despite his defects, he’s managed to hold the country together during the greatest disruption of normal life since World War Two. I’ve also come to admire his resilience and, yes, his bravery, in the face of an opposition that has spared no effort of foul play to destroy him.

I’m under no illusions that Donald Trump will Make America Great Again in the way that many of his supporters understand that slogan. The USA is headed into a terrible ordeal of economic disorder that I call the long emergency. Mr. Trump won’t stop it, and it may yet make a fool out of him. But the Democratic Party’s agenda would add an extra layer of tyrannical and sadistic insanity to the process that will only bring more suffering to more people, and I don’t want that to happen. I believe that Mr. Trump will probably win the election, but we’ll have to see what kind of nefarious dodges his opponents will employ to prevent any resolution of that outcome.

Bless you for your honesty! More intelligent Democrats should do the same, and vote for Trump. The whole Democratic Party needs to be run out of office for a decade or so until they can get their brains back.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 26, 2020 at 10:26 am #

Agreed, but the problem is that the good Democrat voters didn’t exactly have a place to run to.
My support for Donald Trump was as much about trying to salvage that party, as it was about the corruption in the other.

    • hortonz October 26, 2020 at 11:50 am #

You want to see what a Biden administration will look like? Just look at north of the border to our own Liberal government and pray that the Democrats aren’t half as destructive to your own country.

    • thirdcoastlegend October 26, 2020 at 12:45 pm #

It’s not so much their brains as the obvious Chicom control that must be purged.

      There, fixed it for you.

Jim, if you want to regain your credibility with your Delusional Democrat friends you need to direct your pen to the equally deplorable soul of the Repugnant Party. It will be equally easy to draw up a list of particulars that show that it should receive banishment along with it’s Demorat partner.

Hell both parties or the party of one is dangerous for your health, but people are conned into voting for one or the other, because of the 24/7 line of propaganda that spews out of Washington, hell both parties are backed by the same tribe, the 1% who have caused the 40 million living in poverty and the millions more who will be joining them, and I know Jim is well aware of this for there is no other outcome, there are no more countries that they can loot to keep feeding the capitalist type of government that we have, and there is nothing left in the country to steal,so what difference does it make? who sits in the ivory tower,!!!!

      • EnterpriseSpaceship October 28, 2020 at 6:08 pm #

“Hell both parties or the party of one…”

This is not something typical to the US but rather a universal around the globe – burn the maximum fossil fuels energy for a very little positive outcome.

What else seems universal is that oil exporting nations tend to be war-torn, too.

Oil-exporting Azerbaijan becomes now the latest member of war-torn oil-exporting nations-club of Iraq, Libya, Syria and Yemen – war-torn.

Are we in an Energy Musical Chairs Game, thinking it simply a two-party issue?

Will Saudi, Russia and other oil producing nations eventually join over time that pre-industrial-reality club of Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Libya, Venezuela and now Azerbaijan?

        Wail.

Since 9/11, at least. Everybody was fooled, it seems, because Bush Two was in office, but that Patriot Act wasn’t written overnight, and the Democrats were as much in favor of it as the Republicans.

I remember how, at first, the librarians stood staunch in defense of our civil liberties.
You should see my local library now. The creeping authoritarianism under Obama has now found a host in COVID-1984, and there are huge posters plastered all over the windows, plus a giant TV screen in case you missed the posters, or maybe can’t read, informing you of all the conditions you must meet in order to enter.

A mask requirement isn’t enough for these Gestapo, they will take your temperature and make you log in, so in case you aren’t wearing that mask exactly right, they can take away your “privileges”?

Privilege? Access to the books I paid for, which they do NOT own?

One of my local libraries as none of that, just no good books. Full f large print mysteries and other fictions. Just for old folks! Books are passe is the message It seems. No computers since that would attract kids and homeless people, and in general the poor who might need them. If you can help someone by farting, hold it in.

        • Jo-G October 26, 2020 at 7:26 pm #

As we go through the various “Health Conditions” here the library seems to drop the mask requirement sooner than the other facilities. During the more severe conditions they had customers perform the entire checkout process. They provided sanitizing equipment for patrons to wipe down the shared computers before use but I didn’t see any enforcers. Its like the LIbrary has different rules than the rest of the base.

Especially considering California Gov. Newsom’s recent edict regarding Thanksgiving.

All get-togethers must be outside and everyone must be six feet apart. The gathering can only last two hours and masks must be worn (outside!) at all times even between bites of food and taking a drink!

The house bathroom must be sanitized between uses! (Everybody can afford a maid to take care of that chore).

And no SINGING! No group of little girls doing any spontaneous performances of “Let It Go!” And definitely no singing “Baby Shark”.

Here in California some areas outside will be a crisp 50 degrees or colder! Lovely weather for sitting around six feet apart chatting up the election results and what Netflix series everyone has been watching, all the while with masks on so nobody can understand a word.

      https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8877273/Megyn-Kelly-joins-revolt-against-Newsons-Thanksgiving-insanity-requires-families-wear-masks.html

I am sure Newsom and his family will be following all these edicts as well?? While they drink the best wines from his “vineyard”.

I was already going to vote for Trump. Now I am hoping California voters will vote for Trump and against all the hare-brained propositions here $$$ just to stick it to them good. Especially Newsom.

      People here have had it.

Know what’s scary? All the universities suddenly receiving gargantuan endowments from “tech” titans, with the stipulation that the money be used to build new science and technology centers.
No doubt that these places will teach New Science, as well.

The tipoff us how bad the schools are using the COVID hysteria against their own students.
Tracking them on and off campus, restricting how and where they may congregate, and using the phony testing scam, which science tells us does not work, to control healthy people and keep the scam going.

      • B_NOLA October 26, 2020 at 11:39 am #

Students in elementary schools are being punished – including suspension and even expulsion – for the unforgivable sin of having toy swords or (gasp) BB guns in view of the cameras in their bedrooms. That isn’t hyperbole, it’s really happening.

  5. Rodster October 26, 2020 at 10:05 am #

Sir no need to apologize. I applaud you for having the balls to tell the Democrat party to fuck off. It’s obvious what they have done and are doing. The Media is all in on the Democrat side.

It’s absolutely disgusting what they have and are attempting to do just so they can get power back even if it means blowing up the Country which they don’t really care. They are playing people from the BLM to create even more chaos if the manufactured Covid 19 bullshit wasn’t enough. Is anyone but me pissed off every time I see someone wearing a useless mask thinking it will protect them from Covid?

JHK, you don’t need friends like the ones you described, if they are to fucking stupid to connect the dots.

But make NO mistake both parties have sold out America and its people. I have an absolute disdain for politicians. I’m also gald Trump during the last debate said he was “no politicians” unlike the walking dead Joe Biden. I cringe every time I see that fucktard in his aviator sunglasses and surgical mask.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 26, 2020 at 10:43 am #

The other side of BLM is OCDM, Only COVID Deaths Matter.

Florida’s governor finally wised up, when presented with evidence from some actual reporters, as to how rigged or just plan wrong the COVID death numbers were being counted, and removed all the unconstitutional and unscientific restrictions on citizens.

      • Rodster October 26, 2020 at 11:13 am #

America needs more Governor’s like that. Wasn’t the Belarus President who said regarding Covid 19, “I rather die standing than to live on your knees”?

It seems that flu deaths are way down and in fact may continue to be way down. This might in part be due to lack of travel from elsewhere to N America but as Covid has spread so easily I’m not sure this reason holds water. The other reason may well be that Covid has taken out so many of the people who the flu would have such as the elderly, ill and infirm. Yes, flu shots exist but often those in rough shape and elderly can’t mount a good immune response to the flu shot anyway. It’s still early but overall deaths, averaged between flu and Covid may turn out to be normal. Will see.

        • Yohannon October 26, 2020 at 1:36 pm #

In other words, the Flu is out of favor and is being called Covid. Medicine is a business and there’s more money in Covid. And of course there’s the Agenda of World Takeover by the Chinese and their Western Allies too.

        • ThorsHammer October 28, 2020 at 1:37 pm #

          Mountain Gal

The triumph over the decades-old curse of the flu is indeed miraculous. Ocam’s Razor would point toward a simpler answer than those you suggest. The reason that flu deaths have collapsed is that they are now called Corvid deaths. In the US medical system that is easy to understand because the bounty paid to a hospital for a Corvid patient or death is several times higher than for a patient who dies from the flu.

If we dig deeper into the Second Wave where an explosive increase of new “cases” has not been accompanied by a corresponding increase of deaths another simple explanation surfaces. The “gold standard” PCR protocol involves laboratory amplification of viral samples obtained by swabs from the upper respiratory tract. At each amplification the initial sample becomes more potent and easily identifiable. In the case of the search for the Corvid virus the number of amplifications is usually set at 40, a number called the Cf. That number was chosen as the sensitivity level that will identify almost any active virus present regardless of it’s probability of leading to future illness.

If the Cf is increased to 50 almost everybody will test positive for Corvid19 — a 100% “case infection rate” as defined by the standards of our medical propaganda system. By the same standard, amplify PCR swab samples only 20 times and the world will suddenly seem to be 100% Coronavirus free because the PCR test is not sensitive enough to measure it at that amplification level. “Cases” are almost entirely a product of the way testing is measured.

In the USA we are only a week away from a presidential race wherein facts and lies fall off the wall as if it were made of Teflon. Anybody want to take my wager that the number of “cases” in the US will crash drastically within a month so the winner can claim “victory” over the pandemic regardless of which figurehead wins the show?

          • Yohannon October 28, 2020 at 2:40 pm #

I’d take that. The Covid Cult is aiming for World Domination. It’s much bigger than just who wins. That being said, the Cult wants Biden to win of course.

          • GreenAlba October 29, 2020 at 7:22 am #

So now we have the truth from ThorsHammer.

People all over the US are being killed by crows.

            How delightfully Hitchcockian.

          • GreenAlba October 29, 2020 at 8:10 am #

“If the Cf is increased to 50 almost everybody will test positive for Corvid19”

Perhaps you missed the post where neurodoc pointed out the false negative rates for the crow virus of 48 percent in presymptomatic people and 30% thereafter. (2 October, if you’re interested.) That would explain a lot.

    • abbybwood October 26, 2020 at 1:12 pm #

And Joe Biden likes to take credit for writing The Patriot Act. He wrote after Oklahoma City and a few days after 9/11 he whipped the copy out of his desk and dusted it off and submitted it:

Excellent summation, JHK. As a denizen of academia (mainly because the private sector still values a graduate degree as status symbol for one’s level of skills that can be exploited), I can rigorously say that the bubble-boys and bubble-girls that have perpetually lived in the halls are dichotomized. They are either lemmings deathly allergic to cognitive dissonance – meaning they will employ empiricism and rationalism in their own works but not of others – or they are cowards afraid of taking a step out into a world where their redundant or esoteric CV material will result in a tiny paycheck and no sycophancy from impressionable youngsters and other bubble denizens.

It is truly a wonder to behold how the system props up this massive human waste of time-effort. In my dealings, there is so much no-shit-sherlock research accompanying the relativist nonsense that shirks all modes of scientific thought. As Jordan Peterson declared, Social Sciences and Humanities should be gutted, and parents should awake to the fact that STEM and trades are a far better option and far more capable of instilling critical thought.

    • tractorguy October 26, 2020 at 10:15 am #

” Social Sciences and Humanities should be gutted, and parents should awake to the fact that STEM and trades are a far better option and far more capable of instilling critical thought.” And have a far better chance of earning a real living.

    • Mountain gal October 26, 2020 at 12:12 pm #

Yes, the NYT has posted a sob-story about declining enrollments in the humanities and colleges shuttering some of those majors. Even, oh the horror, combining black and woman’s studies into one! Still guaranteed to get you a job as a Starbucks barista I’d presume? It would be good if more students and their parents woke up to the fact that paying 50K a year to study these subjects isn’t the best use of money. We really do need more plumbers, carpenters, roofers, electricians etc; although as that actually requires physical labor and a willingness to get hot, sweaty and dirty, that might rule out our precious melting snowflakes.

      • Yohannon October 26, 2020 at 1:40 pm #

Good news indeed. The Black Feminists will drive White Women out of this hot house and back into the real world. Only Lesbians will remain in Feminism, their own ultra-radical kind. And their ghetto will be constantly raided by Tranny Warriors calling them TERFS.

      • Vadrosaul October 26, 2020 at 2:09 pm #

I’ve hypothesized that the “toxic masculinity” phenomenon is actually a gut reaction by wimpy feminists to the world the egalitarian feminists before them helped create. Deep down they realized they need tough men who will get hot, sweaty and dirty to maintain the societal comforts they revel in, and they desperately don’t want to get hot, sweaty and dirty themselves.

Instead of developing thick skin and a thicker work ethic, they codify their wimpiness into “theory” so that they can turn the tables on the conversation and proclaim themselves the victims of hurt fee-fees.

      • ThorsHammer October 29, 2020 at 11:49 am #

        Mt gal,

I’m not sure we “need” more plumbers and carpenters. Aren’t there hundreds of thousands of them on the unemployment rolls already? As for college graduates with a Master’s degree in Barista Services working for Starabucks at minimum wage, they never are going to pay off their $200,000 in student loans that way. Time to find a more profitable line of work like selling crack Cocaine instead of coffee. That’s just the free enterprise economy at work.

For the people who hate the direction that things seem to be going, at what point does the desire to be left alone give way to the need to DO something about it? What would it take to get millions of people into the streets against this Wokerati (great word, Jim) agenda?

    • draupnir October 26, 2020 at 2:24 pm #

While apparently BLM rallies, “mostly peaceful” protests, riots, looting and burning are not believed to spread COVID, you can bet the police will be unleashed for even peaceful marches or any congregation of those with opposing viewpoints, citing COVID fears as excuse to break them up. Expect fire hoses, rubber bullets, flash bangs, tear gas and mass arrests with charges that stick (if the police are willing to cooperate by this point).

Well said. I am correct, the entire Left has the mind of a 19 year old white girl from the suburbs. I used to appreciate the intelligent liberals’ blogs and such, now they all read like a sorority battle over costumes for the next party.

This is from memory, he had an invite to talk at Google, the brats there basically said “we have tech” and airily dismissed him. From there the general drift that the Left was shutting him out.

He used to taunt us Nascar loving rubes, basically correct even if he missed the 50% haircut Nascar has taken since its peak in 2007. Where Nascar goes so goes America. Maybe a light bulb went off saying that a few of us rubes who care less what the coastal elite thinks of us are not much of an indicator of America’s drift from reality.

That summation is both stirring and sad. Beautifully written, it is sad because I know for fact the futility of appeals to reason and the use of logic, and even irrefutable evidence, when trying to persuade some people whom I know should know better, that they are being conned, big time.

As I sat in the same room as the idiot box playing in the back ground I became aware of some HIV medication extoling the virtues of itself and towards the middle of the commercial a blurb spewed out that it had not been proven to work in trials for children assigned female at birth.
    ????

    Assigned????
I also noticed that not one person on the television was actually a real female you know assigned this gender at birth.
I forgot the name of the medication because they did such a great job of showing happy healthy looking men truth be told I was stunned at the assigned line.

The layers of unreality keep getting plopped down like so many rock strata it’s beginning to look like reality will never have another chance.

    • tractorguy October 26, 2020 at 10:33 am #

That expression “sex assigned at birth” is erroneous. Your DNA, and therefore your body’s entire blueprint, is determined AT CONCEPTION. Every single cell your body manufactures during your whole life is based on that blueprint, irregardless of our feelings and external supplied conflicting hormones.

      • Beryl of Oyl October 26, 2020 at 10:51 am #

It is somewhat misogynistic as well. I remember one doctor on a network news program, repeating the propaganda about ‘gender’, and he used the talking point about not necessarily being the sex “your mother told you you were” at birth.

Stupid women, telling their babies they were girls when they were really boys.

Besides, when was the last time a woman was not told by some medical professional, that she was having or just had a boy or a girl?

I don’t understand how people who went to medical school can allow themselves to become paid whores for the propaganda outlets.

I guess it is the lure of easy money.

        • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:19 am #

DNA has spectrums across the two genders. Various blends of testosterone and estrogen give different types of people.

Masculine women and effeminate men seem to confuse the public and themselves as a consequence. Both exist along with every combination in between. A considerable stigma exists with sexual deviation, just like ethnicity, with the affected kids deeply affected by discrimination from both adults and their peer group.

What to do? How about, for once, ignoring the issue of gender deviation. Let people be what they are, leave them alone.

One exception, parents who gender shame their kids should be prosecuted for child abuse. The normal development of a kid’s personality picks up sexual identity in grade school where kids start to imitate their same sex parent. So any kid that is directed toward sex change prior to that is being abused by sex shaming. Parents are at fault, not the kids. They do not even realize what they are. Puberty finishes the process.

        • SW October 26, 2020 at 12:21 pm #

I had to explain to my youngest daughter (B.S. from Georgetown, M.A. from Cambridge) the difference between primary sexual characteristics (penis or vagina) and secondary sexual characteristics (breasts for women, beard for men) and how people confuse the two. If a man who claims he’s really a woman, has breast augmentation & hormone therapy but doesn’t have his penis and testicles removed–he’s still a man b/c his primary sexual characteristic has not been changed.

And doctors “assigning” gender at birth is complete nonsense. Doctors document the baby’s sex based on — you guessed it! — primary sexual characteristic. The medical field has been shamefully silent by allowing this idiocy to perpetuate. Once again, the power of woksterism picking and choosing “facts” that suit their purpose and screaming insults at anyone who challenges them.

          • Yohannon October 26, 2020 at 1:43 pm #

And if he has his genitals removed he then becomes a woman? I think not. A woman is something in herself and not just a mutilated man.

          • SW October 26, 2020 at 1:55 pm #

No it doesn’t b/c that’s written in our DNA but it could make him (changed physically to “her”) a sexually functional woman, like a post-menopausal woman who doesn’t have ovaries, no menstrual periods or the ability to have children.

          • Kim October 26, 2020 at 7:58 pm #

The phenomena of cross-dressing and gender confusion has been around a long time.

One remarkable historical example was that of the Chevalier d’Eon.

            Start of edited quote

Chevalier d’Éon, was a French diplomat, spy, Freemason and soldier who fought in the Seven Years’ War. D’Éon had androgynous physical characteristics and natural abilities as a mimic and a spy.

D’Éon appeared publicly as a man and pursued masculine occupations for 49 years, although during that time d’Éon successfully infiltrated the court of Empress Elizabeth of Russia by presenting as a woman. For 33 years, from 1777, d’Éon lived as a woman. Doctors who examined d’Éon’s body after death discovered “male organs in every respect perfectly formed”, but also feminine characteristics.

In 1756, d’Éon joined the secret network of spies called the Secret du Roi employed by King Louis XV without the knowledge of the government. It sometimes promoted policies that contradicted official policies and treaties.

According to d’Éon’s memoirs. the monarch sent d’Éon on a secret mission to Russia in order to meet Empress Elizabeth and conspire with the pro-French faction against the Habsburg monarchy. At that time the English and French were at odds, and the English were attempting to deny the French access to the Empress by allowing only women and children to cross the border into Russia.

D’Éon later claimed having to pass convincingly as a woman or risk being executed by the English upon discovery and therefore travelled disguised as the lady Lia de Beaumont, and served as a maid of honour to the Empress.

Eventually, Chevalier Douglas became French ambassador to Russia, and d’Éon was secretary to the embassy in Saint Petersburg from 1756 to 1760, serving Douglas and his successor. D’Éon’s career in Russia is the subject of one of Valentin Pikul’s novels, “Le chevalier d’Éon et la guerre de sept ans”.

            End of edited quote

If he had been doing his thing today, no doubt the Chevalier would be killing it on the women’s water polo team.

        Absolutely a fact.

But boy does it put a dent in the abortion crowd. What has happened to the suburban female? Used to be they were the protectors of life and kids. Trump’s anti-abortion stance seems to have alienated them.

        • draupnir October 26, 2020 at 2:48 pm #

They protect abortion for the sake of their daughters, as unplanned pregnancy can ruin a life before it’s even properly begun. They protect abortion for their own sake, because a defective child can ruin their own lives and their marriages.

          • Kim October 26, 2020 at 11:17 pm #

Being a thoughtless whore or a careless chad can ruin a young life, family, or marriage too, but I don’t see anyone legislating against that. On the contrary, it is encouraged or glorified!

How about getting behind the re-criminalization of adultery?

How about ending free speech rights for pornography? After all, it is not politicial speech. It is nothing more than socially destructive sewage.

It can ruin the lives of young boys and girls to have pornographic filth piped into their smart phones 24 hours a day. Can’t it? So why do we allow it?

Why does no one speak against it? The only people who speak against porn that I know of are the NoFap crowd. So are young white males the only socially responsible family conscious people left in America?

But things like partial birth abortion and “post birth abortion” – formerly known as “murder” – they’re just fine.

Just to be clear, I am not anti-abortion – because after all, what else do we have to dfefend ourselves against the blacks? – but it does turn my stomach and I do regard it as a terrible evil.

Ultimately, however, abortion is a downstream symptom of a society that is thoroughly poisoned at its headwaters. And it is the upstream poisoning that we need to focus on before handling anything else.

          • draupnir October 27, 2020 at 5:40 pm #

Post birth abortion was often the only method of birth control available to our ancestors. Babies born in the fall and winter were exposed if there wasn’t enough food for the mothers to make milk during those seasons or if the mother died. The imperfect were also often disposed of in this manner, and it was often used to restrict the number of children or to get rid of unwelcome girls. The Chinese practiced that method up until quite recent times. In the Saga of Gunnlaug Serpent Tongue, due to a prophecy, Gunnlaug told his wife that the child she carried would not be raised if it was a girl, and that was after the conversion of Iceland to Christianity), so it was not an unheard of occurrence even then.

Herbal remedies as treatment for inconvenient pregnancies have been known for a very long time. Pennyroyal is quite effective, but there is a risk of liver damage. Ergot has been used with varying degrees of success, but it is also a poison. A strong deconcoction of tansy was the preferred treatment during the middle ages. In milder forms it was a beneficial treatment for other ailments and was readily available.

Abortion has always been practiced in our species. About 20 years ago I came across a site containing the information for a DIY abortion with instructions on how to build a simple vacuum aspirator made of easily acquired items, as well as step-by-steps for the procedure itself. It was being widely disseminated and I downloaded the PDF myself. Desperate women can now take care of themselves, in case of emergency, with the assistance of one other woman. In other words, we don’t need your stinking laws.

Evil has been around a very long time indeed. Morality is Male it would seem. Eve thinks she can do whatever she feels.

          • draupnir October 28, 2020 at 4:50 pm #

Yes, Yohannon. Morality is such a fluid and variable thing. To quote Cindy Lauper, “we’re not the fortunate ones,” and really can’t afford to be constrained by what some man considers moral–it’s easy for you; you don’t have to pay to play. The consequences don’t fall equally on men. They can just zip up and walk away. Even the 18-year financial commitment occasionally imposed doesn’t even begin to equate,

          • GreenAlba October 29, 2020 at 7:32 am #

“Morality is Male it would seem. ”

So, which bit of ‘Gunnlaug told his wife that the child she carried would not be raised if it was a girl […]’ and ‘Babies born in the fall and winter were exposed if there wasn’t enough food for the mothers to make milk during those seasons or if the mother died.’ did you misread?

Do you think when the lord of the manor and his sons fucked the servant girls – without asking them – and they were sent away, pregnant, to live or die, that the lord of the manor ‘paid’ in some way? Did you think Downton Abbey was real?

            Bless.

“Just to be clear, I am not anti-abortion – because after all, what else do we have to dfefend ourselves against the blacks? – but it does turn my stomach and I do regard it as a terrible evil.”

So … killing black babies is just fine, but proposing that foreign aid might be conditional on providing basic healthcare, including reproductive healthcare (with no mention of abortion) for the poorest of the poor – instead of, say, using it to purchase advanced weaponry – betrays an approval of genocide and eugenics?

The reasoning of the two-faced Gotcha troll, for all to see.

          • GreenAlba October 29, 2020 at 8:45 am #

This from the Gotcha troll who called the proposer of the foreign aid/healthcare package ‘a hypocritical sack of shit’ for the proposal.

You really couldn’t make it up. I’d have thought a self-awareness bypass of this quality would be hard to find, even in the US healthcare system.

    • Mountain gal October 26, 2020 at 11:36 am #

Yep. I don’t get it. What ever happened to men proud, happy and comfortable with being men and women feeling the same about being women? Other than rare birth defects which are tragic indeed, a boy has XY DNA and a girl XX and their gender is apparent at birth. What a crazy country we have become.

      • So many liars October 26, 2020 at 11:47 am #

We’ve been so complacent, thinking that this silliness will somehow go away. Doesn’t look like it will. I think the sane people (us) must resist by refusing to comply with the dictates of the trans activists. That might mean that we suffer consequences, even if they’re costly. Perhaps we’ll have to fight back through the courts. Perhaps we’ll lose multiple times. But if we don’t try, we’ll never get our free speech back.

      • Kim October 26, 2020 at 11:33 pm #

        @ Mountain gal

What ever happened to men proud, happy and comfortable with being men and women feeling the same about being women?

Ever heard of Miley Cyrus? Or – antique now – Britney Spears – or, antediluvian, Madonna?

Remember how these were introduced to our little girls as role models and quite proper young ladies and then – before our eyes, on building-high jumbotrons – were turned out as insane pan-sexual nymphomaniacs and whores?

They are just three examples of the now very longstanding and long-planned process of perverting and mentally damaging the psyches of modern Western girls and women.

And now the models for children are all foul-mouthed black and mullatto gangbanged whores and money-obsessed, tattooed, narcissistic gutterslime. Produced by Disney!

Do you pay for cable? Do you have Netflix? If so, then you are subsidizing it.

This process has been deliberate. The Chinese and the globalists are laughing. We are too weak to legislate and act against what is clearly nothing more than filth? Then we are too stupid to go on living.

The domination of the Left in this country for forty years and their usage of the divide and conquer technique has created the discord that characterizes the country now. It will not go away as long as the Democrats and RINOs hold sway over the Deep State.

      • FreddieMars October 26, 2020 at 6:29 pm #

        JohnAZ

The domination of the Left in this country for forty years[…]

Can you clarify this further JohnAZ? 40 years is 1980 till now.

Reagan won the presidency in 1980, Bush 1 in 1988, then Slick Willy in 1992 & 1996. By any measure, the Clinton administration was “GOP Light” and many of the ‘reforms’ of that era – such as ‘workfare’ and 1996 Crime Bill and Immigration Bill – were pretty much ‘GOP gospel’.

Then 8 years of Bush, plus 8 years of Obama. Were ALL these administrations, in your view, “Left”?

        • Kim October 26, 2020 at 8:42 pm #

          @ Freddie

The left has dominated academia, media and the civil services for more than a century in the USA. We see it perhaps most dramatically starti g in the 1930s with the importation of the Frankfurt School people and the stacking of the federal government with communist agents under the New Deal, but going back if you like to John Dewey (a globalist communist) and the Rockefeller/Columbia University creation of its PhD program which offered juicy grants to colleges which put its PhDs on staff. That was pre WW1.

Note that the strategy of capturing key positions is similar to what we see in the Soros-supported Democrat DA races today.

Much of academia have been explicitly and openly communist since the 1960s under the guise of front philosophies such as the “New Left”, but you go all the way back to influential enemies of society like Boas and his mendacious protégé, Margaret Mead, if you wish. Again, that is more than a century ago.

Many members of the government of FDR were soviet agents. I have quoted here before the case of Democrat Congressman Samuel Dickstein, who entered congress in 1928 and has been proven by Venona to have been an NKVD agent.

How many congressmen and women today are agents of the CCP? Not just a few, I am sure.

The corruption of the courts and legal system by scheming leftists through the universities and the Democrat party similarly goes back at least a century. A key name in this was that of Felix Frankfurter, one of the founders of the ACLU and later a Supreme Court justice, who was influential in placing neo-Bolsheviks throughout the Federal Court system. One of his longtime protégés was Alger Hiss.

      Atrocities of the Trump Administration.

Like the best economy in fifty years?

Like the withdrawal of troops overseas?

Like the de-escalation of tension with Korea?

Like the renegotiation of NAFTA with our neighbors to remove giveaways?

Like the tightening of trade with China to undo the Obama/Biden giveaways that have cost so many US jobs?

Like getting NATO “allies” to put up the share of costs that they agreed to do but didn’t?

      Like eradicating ISIS?

Like killing the number one killer of Americans in Iran?

Like undoing the very stupid Iranian treaty that was used to build their missile arsenal and continue development of their Nuke program?
BTW, the ten years that was negotiated by Kerry is about over, so it would be re-started anyway.

Like getting us out of the Paris peace accord that refused to admit that the US is a much smaller contributor to CO2 pollution than China, India or Russia. Yet we were going to pay the freight for whatever climate changers would be implemented, which by the way have not even been identified yet.
This was a great stoppage of the globalization effort.

Like putting together three peace accords in the Middle East?

Like reversing the Democratic takeover of the US judiciary and putting three folks onto the Supreme Court?

Stopping the idiots trying to clobber the US economy by allowing a virus epidemic to shutdown the economy?

      Etc, etc.

The real Trump administration atrocities were:

Fracking, while also making no money for the frackers (only sustainable with zero percent loans and gullible investors expecting “next year we’ll make some money!”), has contracted to basically the New Mexico portion of the Permian basin, much of which is Federal land. Before he died, Matt Simmons said he knew of all the ways to get oil and the cabinet was empty of new ways that made any financial sense. Im sure he would have laughed at fracking as realistic in the real world.

Speaking of fracking, if I hadn’t been reading this blog and one other local one, I might have been fooled into thinking that Andrew Cuomo banned fracking when he did, out of concern for the environment.

Yuri Bezmenov was right about brainwashing.

The Left and Chicoms have done a sweet number on half the populace and nearly all of the US elites.

      • Kim October 26, 2020 at 9:10 pm #

The biggest number that has been done on the population has been via sex and drugs, but most widely through sex.

The key to mind control and suggestion – and popular movie storytelling! – is always to enter the subject’s mind through the open door of our basic drives, through the limbic brain. That is why movies often start with some dramatic or sexual action. It opens the limbic mind, and creates suggestibility, the suspension of disbelief.

Once the limbic brain is accessed, the rational mind can be made to excuse or explain away anything.

Knowing that, our masters have created a pornified society where we live with the limbic brain always open – as if society always has its zipper open and its junk out, or is constantly fondling itself.

The result is that we live today in a society that is in a constant state of sexual anticipation or expectation. And no one is left out of the orgy. Even those who have no sexual partner have a computer or phone constantly stimulating and diverting them and constantly foregrounding what is in fact the most stupid aspects of our human condition.

In short, the sexualized society has put a ring through the nose of a population that as as result become mostly swinish in its tastes and behaviors and rarely better than bovine.

Professional manipulators have constant and total access to the uncritical parts of our minds. We have given burglars the access code to our psyches.

It is time for the institution of strong laws against pornography.

Your explanation of the dynamics of mind-control is very lucid and seems quite reasonable. Could it be that the ills that have befallen us, and by us I mean the western world, is clever payback from a clever people for the Opium Wars?

“Could it be that the ills that have befallen us, and by us I mean the western world, is clever payback from a clever people for the Opium Wars?”

Certainly the Chinese are behind a lot of it but this sexualization has been going on now for going on 100 years, though it sped up post mid-1950s.

In any case, Opium Wars of not, China would still be our enemy today. The Mongol Hordes needed no excuse and neither does the CCP.

Is the democratic party rotten? Unwholesome? Unnatural? it seems to be the case. So what about the Republican politicians? Are they part of the same game??

    • Beryl of Oyl October 26, 2020 at 10:57 am #

They sit back and allow the Democrats to do the dirty work for them, for the most part.

Ann Coulter ailed it when she said the Republicans care about only four things – abortion, tax cuts, the embassy in Jerusalem, and I forget the last, maybe the death penalty?

Neither party actually cares about abortion, just some of their members do.

I believe ‘wedge issue’ is the term you’re looking for here. Guns, same thing. No one’s talking them away anytime soon, but they always make for great campaign fodder.

Plenty of Republicans are agents for the CCP and/or Davos. Never Trumpers out themselves on a regular basis.

  19. brb October 26, 2020 at 10:52 am #

I’m an independent myself, but would have migrated from Obama in 2008 to Trump in 2016 if I had voted. Already submitted my absentee ballot for Trump this year and—remarkably—ended up voting all Republican.

For Democrats who may feel conflicted, there is an interesting #walkaway campaign out there where many former Dems are offering their experience and support for those who are ready to leave the Democrat plantation.

This is a paraphrase, but founder Brandon Staka nicely summarized his evolution in an interview where he said to the effect: I did not really change much myself but after 2016 I surveyed the political scene and realized that the Republican party had become much more diverse and inclusive while the Democrats had become…(short pause)…insane.

That kind of says it all to me.

    • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:34 am #

The Dems have migrated from protecting the interests of the working class of the US to protecting their own interests and power base only. Wokesterism is a joke, a political ploy to try to unify all the special interests the Dems represent. Last of their concerns is the goodness of a free United States. The Dems do not give one damn about Their public as evidenced by their encouragement of tearing apart their own cities. Come on, city folks, wise up. Name one time Trump encouraged civil disorder and violence. Never!

    • King of Comedy October 26, 2020 at 11:37 am #

In 2016, I held my nose and voted for Clinton. I grew up on the east coast and had family members who owned construction businesses that had done work in Atlantic City. In that milieu, Trump was widely viewed as a con artist with whom you did business at your own peril. Trump as leader of the free world was simply not a serious option.

From a business perspective, truth be told, I still view Trump as full of shit. And I think that the reality TV antics have at times approached Mike judge’s prescient Idiocracy. All that being said, I still voted for Trump because the other side is completely repellent.

Much like you, I voted straight Republican. I simply looked at the Democratic candidate and/or Democratic position on state and local issues and voted the opposite.

The reality is that you cannot have any resemblance of a sane, civilized society and entertain a pathology as a reasonable mode of running that society. The Democrats at this point in time are a pathology. There’s no other way to put it.

My father in law, another builder, often said that the key to construction success is to “Sell them a dream, build them a box”. Optimizing profit is the job of the American businessman. The buyer must be wise to avoid the pitfalls and demand their side gets what they are paying for.

Huh! Sounds like the free market to me. If people were “taken” by Trump , or anyone, it is their fault. Trust as the basis of business is in short supply. But again, trust as the basis for much of anything is in short supply.

Trump has been a survivor in the grossest market in the US, NYC. He got screwed in Atlantic City by some pretty stupid advice and it clobbered him. He then played Phoenix and recreated a million dollar company from the ashes.

Sounds like someone I would want to run the company I would work for, or maybe the country itself.

        • King of Comedy October 26, 2020 at 12:39 pm #

          @John

Not that it matters one whit to me vis-a-vis the election but Trump’s business practice wasn’t negotiating a hard bargain whereby he came out on top. That’s legitimate business. It was accepting a bid for work from contractors and subs and then beating them down on the price after the work was completed, at which point they had already outlaid significant money for materials and labor. Running a three-card monte racket is hardly a admirable accomplishment.

None of my relatives fell for the bait because Trump’s reputation proceeded him. Tells you all you need to know about the Democrats though… that Trump, warts and all, is still a better alternative. It’s not even close…

The worst part of all this is the cozying up to the secret policemen & regime change agents, in the name of “resistance” to Trump.

The cognitive dissonance involved must be astounding. Take the former Dir. CIA John Brennan, who throughout his career supported torture of suspected terrorists, and secret bombing campaigns known as the Drone Program, which very likely killed over 70 innocent people, including many children. Brennan went on to help launch the counter intelligence investigation into the Trump campaign, kicking off they Russia hysteria.

Brennan, and all of the people similar to him in activities & position (like Clapper), are now all MSM celebrities who “consult” to agencies like MSNBC.

Using people like Brennan at MSNBC is political indoctrination. It’s not news. It’s not journalism.

But some people love the opinions on MSNBC because it is anti-Trump. A Biden Presidency will re-empower these dark forces within government.

The NBA refuses to criticize China. Apparently China makes our basketballs. But even more: they are hoping to bring Basketball to China – a much bigger market than America. With such fantasies the Corporate mind is occupied. Maybe it’s realistic, maybe not. Don’t know. But NASCAR’s idea of throwing lower class Whites to the dogs in favor of fantasized new markets will prove to be folly.

Yes, the Republican Party is split and needs to do so officially. Trump could call the new Party the America First Party or something.

The human brain is a metabolically expensive piece of equipment, using an inordinate amount of energy even when not in use, so why use it unnecessarily? I mean if you can get someone else to do your thinking for you, well, why not?

What is ideology but a framework of prefabricated fabrications, pre-chewed food-for-thought for non-thinking – cough – “thinkers”, easily swallowed and quickly digested?

Membership requires “belief”, at the very least, publicly expressed professions of belief, the more unbelievable the required belief, the more discomfort inflicted by the expression of said belief, the warmer the applause, the hugs, the smiles, the handshakes. It means you’re one of us, you said what caused you discomfiture, it made you squirm saying what is on its face utter claptrap, expressing credulity when you know the people listening don’t believe it either. Russian collusion? Bullshit, but it’s bullshit that everyone in the tribe must assert as true.

That said, some expressions of untruth are painless. The 9-11 terrorists came through Canada. Right? Wrong. But if you’re American, then it’s true because such luminaries as John McCain and Janet Napolitano said so, and they must know. Right? Wrong. But they didn’t suffer by saying so and everyone has by now forgotten they even said it.

The vast diminution of American working class income and employment is the result of technology. Right? Every economist worth his salt will tell you this, every coastal intellectual who deigns to look at the issue will tell you. Or, if it’s not that, then it’s unfair Chinese trade practises to blame. See, both explanations exonerate the real culprits, those that sold-out that class of people commonly regarded as deplorable.

Back to the question; why not? Why not let someone else do your thinking for you? Just this, belief in things that aren’t so is inconsistent with survival. It’s that simple. And ideologies that pervert history, that lie, that bend and shape what happened, or altogether ignore facets of it, is not innocuous. It’s like Orwell said, the truth still stands right behind you. Lying about events doesn’t change them.

So what’s the way forward in this Age of Ideology, that is to say, this Era of Lies? Think for yourself. Trust your own eyes and ears and powers of reason. Two plus two equals four, it will always equal four no matter the power and “expertise” arrayed against it.

    • volodya October 26, 2020 at 11:19 am #

correction; is not innocuous should read ARE not innocuous.

    • Paul October 26, 2020 at 11:45 am #

      Vlad,
Thank you for your essay. Does membership require belief or can it be attained simply through participation in certain quaint rituals? Maybe bullshit is the test: if I’m bullshitting the way that everyone else around me is, then do I automatically belong? Am I part of the herd?
Think for your own (sic) self! Hard to argue with that one, but what is the difference between a herd-member who is thinking and one who’s just grazing? Not much.
And like to riff on Orwell, the truth is there, but it’s invisible because it’s all around you. Invisible except at singular times: like when the clock strikes thirteen, or when two plus two equals not four, but twenty-two. Aye, there’s the catch!

      • Yohannon October 26, 2020 at 2:04 pm #

Vlad? Which one? Putin or Vlad Tepes? Or some other? Is Vlad a diminutive of Volodya?

        • sophia October 26, 2020 at 4:00 pm #

          Yohannon,

Other way around. Volodya ist he diminutive.

      • volodya October 27, 2020 at 1:06 pm #

Nobody automatically belongs because every herd has its own secret police on the lookout for non-compliance ie heresy.

Bullshitting, that being public profession of required beliefs, itself one of those quaint rituals, is required, but if you want to maintain membership, you have to be careful not only of what you say, but also your demeanor, and your intonation. Be careful because denunciation, as we’ve seen multiple times, can be life-limiting, career-stopping, altogether a terrible thing. Paranoia anyone?

    • sevensec October 26, 2020 at 7:31 pm #

“Is it not a sign of immense progress that the masses should have “ideas,” that is to say, should be cultured? By no means. The “ideas” of the average man are not genuine ideas, nor is their possession culture.” —Ortega y Gasset, The Revolt of the Masses

In other words, “having other people do your thinking for you” is the natural way of the masses. The vast majority of the “ideas” held by individuals in mass-society are not ideas at all, but propaganda or, as you say, ideology.

Here memetics replaces thought and truth; memes, in turn, have little direct relation to truth, and every relation to conformity and social control.

Not that conformity or social control are totally bad in themselves—but to conflate them with objective truth certainly is. And this is precisely what is happening.

(P.S. a couple pages later Gasset goes on to praise liberal-democracy as by far the “highest” and “noblest” of all forms of government. So… he bemoans the failure of ideas in the hands of the mass, given the latter has the least capacity for ideas and the greatest susceptibility to ersatz “ideas”… but then turns and and admires the form of government that is maximally deferential to mass opinion. That is some tortured reasoning, Ortega. Guess that’s why the book was free?)

      • volodya October 27, 2020 at 12:34 pm #

I suppose that Ortega is like a lot of allegedly educated people nowadays. Their heads are so screwed around that they can’t think a straight thought anymore or put forth a coherent argument and you can’t make head or tail about what they say.

I had this idea that, if Trump wins again, perhaps it will really and finally crack the current Dem party, and it will disappear. Then, there will be a reset of the party, but it will be a bifurcation of the Republican party. Those more moderate/libertarian of the Rep party will form the new Dem party, and those more conservative will continue to be the “Trumpists” or “Trumpians”– the Rep party.

I’m not sure quite what to think of the president. He could very well be pulling the most shrewd con-job in the history of politics, considering how the presidency has been largely allergic to honest people since JFK. I say “most shrewd” because his criticisms of Biden’s obvious corruption–not to mention the rest of the swamp–are largely on-point. So if it is a con, it’s a double head-fake, but maybe that’s what it takes these days to really fool a voter base.

And yet the ferocity of the Deep State to unseat him is so over-the-top that hey, maybe he’s onto something. At the very least, Trump is a disruptor–not entirely for the good, but enough to put a deservedly harsh spotlight on his opposition. Frankly, I hope he stomps Biden on Tuesday, who is easily the weakest Democratic nominee in the modern era.

Well written and a cri de coeur. I too have been appalled by the Dems that I know, all convinced of their saintly “rightness” and wokeness. I’ve been yelled at for merely suggesting that perhaps Trump wouldn’t be as bad as they feared, following his election. I’ve been told that if I voted for Trump I’m not welcome in someone’s house, a long-time friend. I basically keep my mouth shut, tolerating all of the BLM signs, “resist ” bumper stickers and endless rants by the left about Trump, the Supreme Court, etc. I also know that my livelihood depends on it as likely most of my customers would depart if they knew who I voted for in 2016 and will again.

I don’t like what this country has become and I don’t think it’s Trump’s fault. Sure I wish he didn’t tweet as he does and I don’t agree with him on every measure but overall, he tells it like it is and I respect that. He has also taken many stands that I agree with and welcome. And overall, he’s certainly the lesser of the to evils as you too Jim have come to recognize.

It’s hard to get that point across about Trump, when the nightly news programs tell outright lies about him.

Secrecy is a necessary part of our system, thus the secret ballot. But the new level of secrecy you describe is extreme indeed. We need to separate from the Crazies. And if you can’t talk frankly to someone, then real friendship has already departed any loss will have already happened.

“but how else can he communicate freely to the public ” In short, by continuing to say outrageous things that grab the media’s attention and force them to give his statements free publicity. He’s been doing that since 2016. Had Trump limited his statements to pure reason, sweetness and light, he would have long ago been flushed down the attention-hole the media has turned itself into.

Friends. Who needs em? Most of the time when push comes to shove they will let you down anyway. And then again, oftentimes when one looks around at their “friends” they realize they don’t need enemies. In today’s world politics and culture are becoming zero sum games where the winner takes all. It’s actually more of a reversion to the mean than anything else since most of human history and culture has been dominated by authoritarians, tyrants, dictators, and warlords. Modern ideas of freedom of thought, association, etc. are actually the outliers. So in reality we are simply moving back to the overall norm of human history and existence.

Did you watch No Country for Old Men? The fiend, Shugar (phonetic spelling), would flip a coin and say, “Call it friendo”. If you got it you got to live.

Yes, we are going back to the Clan structure. Few rights but many duties. And expulsion from the Clan is a death sentence since that makes you an out-law to be killed at at a whim. Shugar may have just been ahead of the curve.

      • SoftStarLight October 26, 2020 at 3:19 pm #

No I haven’t seen it but I have heard it referenced here several times. I probably should though to better understand. I read back over my post and realized it may have sounded harsh and negative. But I guess that sometimes things in life are harsh and negative even though a lot of times one wishes they were not. Or sometimes even pretends differently. I wouldn’t want to be expelled.

        • tresho October 26, 2020 at 5:41 pm #

” it may have sounded harsh and negative.” There is a useful distinction that may be drawn between an accurate description / pointing out uncomfortable facts and being “harsh and negative”. In the long run, we are all dead. That is a prediction as well as a type of description. It is “harsh and negative” if you choose to call it that. Now let us switch our attention to a more important issue: What do we do in the meantime?

        • sevensec October 26, 2020 at 7:19 pm #

Perhaps you were overly harsh in that you seem to confuse Tribe (clan) with Barbarism—there is an important difference.

One can surely have barbarian tribes; but there is no civilization, nor culture, without Tribe. Witness the ongoing, decades-long descent into totalitarian mayhem, and creeping barbarism due to free-handing stateless (or world-state) business interests and their Allies in the Multicult. All this amounts to the deconstruction of Tribe.

Tribalism is like cowbell: we just need a little more of it. Halfwitted leftist attempts to claim the tribal concept, as in the case of Sebastian Junger or the various intersectional agglomerations, only will lead to the destruction of either the concept of Tribe itself, or of the Left.

Thus we have yet to see whether the tribal pill will poison, or itself be poisoned.

          • SoftStarLight October 27, 2020 at 1:35 am #

I’m not sure if I’m following you but I’m not suggesting that a return to tribalism is per se a return to barbarism. Though right now there is a resurgence of both tribalism and barbarism. I mostly meant that generally it seems like political authority is becoming more authoritarian whereas most past governments have also been authoritarian. So in a sense its as if we are returning to the historical norm.

Dr. Scott Atlas has this to say about how to handle the pandemic:

“My advice is exactly this. It’s a three-pronged strategy.

Number one: aggressive protection of high risk individuals and the vulnerable (typically the elderly and those with co-morbidities).

Number two: allocate resources so that we prevent hospital overcrowding, so that people can be treated for this virus and get the other serious medical care that is needed.

Number three: open schools, society and businesses because keeping them closed is enormously harmful — in fact it kills people.”

And he stated very clearly the glaring problem of handling the virus with common sense:

“I knew I would be vilified, because in the US there are a lot of people who think that this President is radioactive, so there is a massive destruction that ensues immediately when you associate with this President. It’s a very sad statement on America, on American culture, on the world — these people are blinded, even scientists, to the data because they despise the political side of this. And they have a massive ego, and can’t admit they’re wrong. “

I regularly go to Boston Into the Fenway area, where there’s lots of roaches. I carry along my grocery bag and gather enough of them to put into my soup. Yum, yum! Just make sure they’re cooked enough, because if not, they tend to be a little too crunchy.

Yech! I was kidding. But really, when I lived in the city and went into people’s apartments there, I’d bang on a kitchen cabinet door, and then open it quickly. I’d see lots of cockroaches scrambling for cover. That area is called the Fenway because it has fens, which also yields plenty of rats. Many times I’d drive along the road and see rats scurrying into apartment buildings.

I think that the most natural living area in central Boston is in Beacon Hill. The Fenway and especially the fabled Back Bay is on filled land that was once swampy. In fact, many of the pilings that buildings there were built on were rotting from the effect of just below the surface swamp water. This was in the late 70’s, early 80’s. I do ‘t know their conditions now.

The Back Bay has many gorgeous buildings with 16’ ceilings, beautiful woodwork and very large windows, but I never wanted to live there because I knew what was underneath.

I wrote something similar months ago and your second paragraph reminded me: if you posit the increasingly logical proposition that the United States is facing an existential crisis such as Britain faced in 1940, then Trump plays the Churchill role.

Churchill, prior to September 1, 1939, was viewed as a buffoon, an incompetent, a creature of no self-restraint. The failures of Gallipoli, the return to the gold standard, and his position of the abdication of Edward VIII led to his years “in the wilderness”. Without the war, Churchill would have been an inconsequential figure, perhaps even a cautionary tale.

History is strange that way though. I don’t buy the encomiums to Trump’s business acumen but I’m more and more inclined to believe he may be the right man for the right moment in history much as Churchill was. Time will tell…

      • Kim October 26, 2020 at 9:49 pm #

Churchill destroyed Europe. His actions resulted in 50 years of soviet rule in Eastern Europe, the Communist triumph in China, the Korean War, dozens of bloody wars of “liberation” in Africa and Asia…and, perhaps worst of all, sustained the environment that allowed the continued penetration of Anerican society and government by communist agents of subversion, from atom bomb spies, to founders of globalist entities hostile to the USA such as the UN and the World Bank by people like Harry Dexter White, another proven soviet agent who sat next to FDR throughout his presidency.

Churchill’s legacy was the enabling of globalist communism and the destruction of the West.

        He was an utter disaster.

        • King of Comedy October 27, 2020 at 10:03 am #

Definitely a unique reading of history there.

Churchill most definitely strove to maintain the British Empire long past its sell-by date but it’s a, to say the least, curious assertion that a leader who was voted out of office in 1945 had such a central role in the post-war realignment.

Curious as well that the guy who coined the term “iron curtain” and by some accounts urged a nuclear strike against the Soviet Union in 1947 was actually working for the commies.

I suspect we’ll have to agree to disagree on that front but it’s beside my larger point. For the run-up to WW2 and in particular the period between the invasion of Poland and the Battle of Britain, without Churchill, the outcome almost certainly would have been different. Speculative history no doubt but less speculative is the fact that the Chamberlains and Halifaxes were more or less resigned to a Vichy Britain. The RAF and some awful strategic decisions by the Germans ultimately saved Britain but without Churchill, none of that even gets a chance to play out. And that’s the Trump comparison: flaws aside, maybe the right leader for this exact moment in American history.

          • Yohannon October 27, 2020 at 12:27 pm #

Many saw the support of the Soviet Union during WW2 as a dreadful necessity to be ended as soon as possible. Churchill is said to have said, We killed the wrong pig.

I agree with your analysis of the Wokesters and their impending autocratic trends. (Just read Douglas Murray, “The Madness of Crowds” and am working through Helen Pluckrose & James Lindsay, “Cynical Theories”) I voted for Trump in 2016 because of Hillary’s theft of the nomination and the treatment of Bernie’s delegates in Philadelphia.
Unfortunately, I am even more concerned with Trump’s ongoing disregard for science, the environment, and the governmental separation of powers–in other words, his autocratic and irrational work already in progress. (Also read Masha Gessen, “Surviving Autocracy”)
Given a choice between present incompetence and in increasing autocracy and future incompetence and autocracy, I choose to vote for Biden now and against the Democratic Party next time. Probably contributing to the increasing polarization of society by encouraging both sides, I guess, those are the cards we have been dealt.

Watched a you tube by a guy who took 4K, 1000 frames a second of himself, backlit, while he sneezed, coughed and talked the words, 1, 2, 3 and 4.

It was disgusting the amount of spittle expelled by this guy. A mixture of big droplets, especially with coughing and sneezing, but significant with just saying numbers, and very small droplets. All sizes. Droplet and airborne.

Then he donned a mask and did the same thing again. Sorry, all you anti-maskers,it made a humongous difference. 99% of the outflow was blocked, with only small droplets going through the fabric and very few of them. The big droplets, the giant virus carriers, were non-existent.

After creating his videos, he contacted Fauci. Fauci was appalled at this guy’s presentation, the amount of outflow that it showed.

My reaction to this is that I am going to clean my mask a lot more often, considering all that spittle ends up in the mask. Yuk!

In the only scientific test done on cloth masks to date, 97% of virus particles passed through.

Do you know how small virus particles are.

      Christ on a crutch.

    • sophia October 26, 2020 at 8:54 pm #

      John,

Well who woulda thought that if a person sneezes and coughs and you film it right, you will see all sorts of stuff. Have you ever read how many bacteria are in every square centimeter of soil? I think it is in the billions.
So what you are saying is that life is disgusting, people are disgusting, their bodies are disgusting, and forevermore we must do our best to implement the nearest possible thing to keeping everyone in a plastic bubble.
Have you ever heard of biophobia?

      • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:14 pm #

No, what I have heard of is self-protection from a contamination source. What do you do, run around trying to find sneezes to immerse yourself in? I will bet you would have kept rats for pets during the Bubonic plague days.

        Bio phobia, my foot.

        • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:19 pm #

And you and Night Owl might watch the video. 99% of the spittle is captured as evidenced by the video. If you are virus active, the mask protects others from you. Social conscience should be enough.

          • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:29 pm #

The other 1% does escape as aerosols.

          • Night Owl October 27, 2020 at 3:24 am #

            A fantasy.

          • sophia October 28, 2020 at 6:47 pm #

1%??? Are you nuts? Most of it escapes, not 1 %.

        • sophia October 28, 2020 at 6:46 pm #

What all this implies is that people constantly emit filthy and disgusting biological output, and that we should always protect ourselves. This means that humans must stop interacting socially as we always have for thousands or hundreds of thousands of years and that at the very least we should be masking ourselves 6 months of the year. Social distance must be permanent. It will make us all unhappy and crazy and depressed…

I ate today at a table with several other neighbors. No masks. I didn’t see anything in the air nor any disgusting thing. These droplets you speak of are not emitted as a matter of course.

But what about people having to rebreathe their own germs and their own respiratory moisture? Is that a healthy habit?

I guess God made a mistake.

      • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:34 pm #

If the let ‘er rip attitudes of some of the CFNers happened, and close social contact started to happen again with no masking, the country would shut down just as fast from health care overload as from mitigation.

Why can’t people have the social sense to socially space themselves, and mask only when they cannot, indoors only. When this discipline would be in place, you could open up everything.

        • sophia October 28, 2020 at 6:50 pm #

Because, John, this is going to be permanent. Or several years at least until they have the entire world cowering in their New World Order of compulsion and censorship. This is apocalyptic.

And because this virus is no more harmful that other respiratory illnesses that make the rounds, and life must go on.

And no, there is a lot you could never open up under those circumstances. All the things which are the most fun and uplifting to the human spirit. Concerts. Fairs. Really endless public events.

Given a choice between present incompetence and increasing autocracy and future incompetence and autocracy, I choose to vote for Biden now and against the Democratic Party next time.
Probably contributing to the increasing polarization of society by encouraging both sides. I guess those are the cards we have been dealt.
(PS–You are worried about Biden family graft? Another time.)

    • shox October 26, 2020 at 1:52 pm #

I understand your concern about Trump’s disregard for science and the environment. I too have been appalled by the fact that the EPA is now effectively defunct. Daily, I hear horror stories which make my stomach clench about protected areas being opened for development. I find it unforgivable that the so called “conservatives,” who are supposed to conserve nature among other things, have chosen to turn a blind eye to climate change and ecological collapse.

I gasped at your words “governmental separation of powers–in other words, his autocratic and irrational work already in progress.” I’m amazed that it has escaped your mind that the Democrats will be MUCH, MUCH worse in this regard, especially since they have the backing of all the citadels of power in the mainstream media, mid-level bureaucracy all across the country, the educational institutions, Big Tech, Big Business and much of a judiciary system whose verdicts seems always to lean towards progressive ends. If Trump seems autocratic, it’s because he’s fighting all alone against a monstrous machine which is in a life and death struggle to preserve itself by expelling the non-compliant intruder which is him. If you really want the machine to win, I just don’t think you understand the nature and gravity of the situation.

Under Kunstler’s previous blog post, someone said that he/she would be too embarrassed to vote, given how awful both candidates were. I will here quote most of my reply to her comment, with some slight edits for your benefit:
      ——————————————

You can choose to vote Biden in this election. Just remember this: once the Democrats come to power, there will NOT be a next election. Or rather, your vote in the next election will simply NOT COUNT. This election will be the last election in which your vote will actually matter. They will turn the whole country into a one-party state where the election is a mere formality, just like in California. Read Michael Anton’s excellent exposition of how the Dems have taken strategic measures to keep themselves in power indefinitely in that God-forsaken state. One (just one; here are many more) of their cynical (yet very effective) tactics is demographics-engineering by allowing unrestricted immigration from third-world nations (all in the name of “diversity” of course):

From “The Stakes – America at the Point of No Return” (2020) by Michael Anton
      ——————————————————————————————-

The founders, however, did not intend massive concentrations of lockstep voters to overwhelm the votes and preferences of everyone else through sheer demographic might. When Jefferson and Hamilton skewered one another over the pros and cons of big cities—home of dangerous urban mobs to the former, engines of economic dynamism to the latter—they agreed on the potential danger from massive voting blocs easily controlled by monied interests.

Needless to say, voters did not “consent” to the last fifty years of mass immigration, which has entirely transformed the electorate of the country. It was foisted on them by the ruling class in order to squash consent by effectively voiding their votes. Indeed, in order to bypass consent, the ruling class explicitly misled the American people about what immigration “reform” would do. Here is Senator Edward Kennedy on the Immigration Reform Act of 1965 (also know as Hart–Celler):

“What the bill will not do: First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same… Secondly, the ethnic mix of our cities will not be upset… Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigration from any one country or area, or the most populated and economically deprived nations of Africa and Asia.”

Every word of the above is false; everything Kennedy assured Americans would not happen has in fact happened. One result is that, in today’s America, for every Wyoming senator casting a vote on behalf of a mere 578,000 people, there are millions of red Americans living in blue states who may as well not even bother to vote, ever. Their voices are never heard.

States such as California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and now Virginia are one-party owing almost entirely to mass immigration. A few big cities and counties are crammed with the recently arrived who — together with the oligarchs and valet-class liberals who beckoned them in — overwhelm the votes of everyone else. This is how a state like Virginia — cradle of the American Revolution and home to four of our first five presidents — suddenly, just like that, became implacably hostile to the first two amendments to the United States Constitution. Five cities and counties — three adjacent to Washington, D.C.—essentially dictate to the other 128. This is the sort of brute-force majoritarianism that our founders warned against and took pains to prevent.

Once the blues have power, they waste little time….

      • JoshuaThompson October 26, 2020 at 3:04 pm #

I agree with our former Attorney General that many millions of basically good people are fleeing gangs, despotic governments, and poverty, but that we simply cannot accept them all. I also do not think we should be subsidizing people to have children they cannot feed, such that 80 percent of the students in LA were on free school food before the pandemic; followed by a gleeful claim that they will be in majority in 20 years. A clash will come.
Unfortunately, that is not the most urgent problem we face.
(I also fear the courts have been been too creative in interpretation since at least the thirties. That I lay at the feet on the Republicans, who refused to adjust the original Constitution to the industrial age, requiring a workaround. Now the Conservatives are playing the same game, and it has lost much legitimacy since Bush v Gore.)
As to who is more corrupt, that issue just leads to endless rounds–I will pass.

        • shox October 26, 2020 at 9:12 pm #

“Unfortunately, that is not the most urgent problem we face.”

Indeed it isn’t. Though the Dems are more attuned to the collapse of the biosphere which we are currently living through, I must reiterate Kunstler’s position:
“I’m under no illusions that Donald Trump will Make America Great Again in the way that many of his supporters understand that slogan. The USA is headed into a terrible ordeal of economic disorder that I call the long emergency. Mr. Trump won’t stop it, and it may yet make a fool out of him. But the Democratic Party’s agenda would add an extra layer of tyrannical and sadistic insanity to the process that will only bring more suffering to more people, and I don’t want that to happen.”

In other words, the Dems may reinstate the EPA, do more to protect forests and national parks (though, with what’s going on with the California wildfires, this is questionable), and at least bring climate change back into the conversation. But they will also ram all of their leftist SJW insanity (such as critical race theory) down your throat. How will society be able to reorient people to protect the environment while the Dems are, to take an example, defunding the police, allowing hordes of immigrants to swamp the nation, neutering the judicial system and letting crime spiral out of control? This and a whole lot more are going on in California. Unfortunately, with the Dems, the good stuff comes with a whole lot of poison. The best hope is to stick to the Republicans, and address our pressing problems in other ways.

        • Kim October 26, 2020 at 11:43 pm #

“many millions of basically good people “

Most people are far from being “basically good” and especially not when they present in large numbers, like “millions”.

Most people are in fact basically bad and at their worst in crowds.

    • draupnir October 26, 2020 at 4:01 pm #

The statement that the science is settled is fallacious, I’m afraid. There are opposing views. They are simply not the preferred view. It’s a pity when science is politicized. Environmental concerns are also problematic when China, India and Russia continue to do as they please. As a US taxpayer, I’m not willing to foot the bill for for the whole world, nor am I entirely confident this is not a natural process quite beyond our intervention. We are at the beginning of a grand solar minimum. The Maunder minimum lasted for 70 years and caused cooler than average temperatures and violent weather extremes. The Earth has been both much colder and much warmer in the past and oddly enough, colder periods have been accompanied by higher atmospheric measurements of CO2 (by ice core examination) than we are seeing today. Scientists claiming to predict such things accurately are guilty of hubris approaching that of Victor Frankenstein. As for incipient autocracy, I worried about that with George Bush, but he left the White House without any difficulty. I’m pretty certain Trump will move out when the time comes too.

      • beantownbill. October 26, 2020 at 5:01 pm #

I don’t remember the numbers exactly (too lazy to be researching right now), but apparently the US accounts for a minority of the co2 emissions in the world, so if we stopped producing it this minute, that wouldn’t prevent climate change. So why bother? We’re no longer the world’s moral authority, so that isn’t the answer.

The fact is, our global civilization is slated to fail soon, no matter what.

        • draupnir October 26, 2020 at 6:18 pm #

They want to tax us for the air we breathe and sell us carbon credits. Lots of money to be made on the climate change con.

          • JohnAZ October 26, 2020 at 11:40 pm #

Carbon credits are political lingo for I do not want to give up my cars. The spread of CO2 is a pan-global problem that the Paris accord tried to blame on the Western countries.

Thank goodness Trump told them where to go.

When all countries take it seriously, including the US, Russia, China, India and Brazil maybe a return to Paris might be in order. Otherwise, forget it.

        • FreddieMars October 26, 2020 at 8:17 pm #

Not to be too picky about it JohnAZ, but emissions per capita is the most useful measure.

          https://ourworldindata.org/per-capita-co2#:~:text=More%20populous%20countries%20with%20some,and%20Canada%20at%2015.6%20tonnes.

          • draupnir October 26, 2020 at 10:44 pm #

Ah, we have a large carbon footprint per-capita, but only 4% of the world’s population, so I hardly think that’s really a particularly useful measurement when we’re talking globally. Are you planning on assuming the lifestyle of a Chinese farmer?

          • Kim October 26, 2020 at 11:56 pm #

            @ Freddie Mars

Why is “emissions per capita the most useful measure”?

I really look forward to an explanation of this one. (Hint: utilitarianism is a trap)

You see, there is this things called “numbers” and there is this other thing called “values”, and besides 170 years of effort by all kinds of totalitarians and utilitarians, the twain has never yet been brought to meet.

You might start by explaining “useful for what and to whom?”

The Soviet Union was famous for turning out finished consumer goods that were worth less on the consumer market than the cost of the materials it tool to produce them.

Was that a “useful” economic activity?

I believe that you might find it useful to read up on the marginal theory of value and observe that there is no way to make ultitarian arguments in a value-laden discussion unless you first accept the validity of the posited values.

“Is it okay for these government agencies to spy on US citizens without any legal predicate, except their being political adversaries?”

    See above answer.

“Is it okay for the FBI and CIA to “leak” falsehoods to news reporters for political advantage?”

It’s terrible that the FBI and CIA leak falsehoods to news reporters for political advantage. News reporters should leak THEIR OWN falsehoods without any outside help. Otherwise, what are we paying them for?

    “Are you against reason itself?”

Not everyone possesses the same ability to reason. That means, there is a fundamental difference among people. That means, that situation is TERRIBLE. All people on the planet must be leveled to same level of nonsense and mental blathering. Therefore, “reason” says that it is unreasonable to be reasonable.

I am in Oregon hanging in a hot spring near Summer Lake in the high desert. Been here 6 nights. Many of the travelers I have met are from the Portland/Eugene corridor. Most support the rioting and other chaos happening over there. I asked one couple about the looting and burning of local businesses, and the lady responded ” They have insurance, right?” End of conversation and we continued soaking in silence. Enough said.

    • Yohannon October 26, 2020 at 3:14 pm #

I was in Portland and a group of Black Africans (I believe) were walking down to the Festival to be worshiped by the Antifas. Their leader asked me something. I couldn’t get the accent. In retrospect, I think he asked me if I thought Black Lives Matter. Not knowing that at the time, I simply said in an amazed tone, “I don’t know”. He cracked up laughing.

From what I saw, I agree. One graffiti I saw said, “We are Portland”. That’s basically right. The whole City is Antifa or at the least the ones who have a say or even bother to vote. Given the winner take all nature of our system, an estimated 30 to 40 percent of the people there have no representation whatsoever.

They have insurance. Or as Montag said, we only burn books and books can’t feel any pain. Of course one could also ask, Do they have insurance? Does insurance cover things like this?

      • benr October 27, 2020 at 10:02 am #

Actually no most insurance has a clause about riots not being covered.

      Rioters break window.

      Replacement cost, $1400.

      Deductible, $1500.

      No, effectively, no insurance.

Business, established six years. No profits first year of worry and hard work. Now pulling a modest wage for management. Building rented. Building burnt down by rioters. Staff laid off. Customers lost.

How does insurance solve that problem?

People are infuriating stupid and selfish.

  52. KappaJoe October 26, 2020 at 2:56 pm #

It all comes down to money and power – duh.

The promotion of any particular ideology to that temporary end is simply a carefully fashioned tool to gain power and money. And in our case, it is actually simpler than that: the actual goal is power, raw political power, as we don’t use real money any more and haven’t worldwide since the early 70s. Money is now conjured through the levers of government and largely projected to the politically favored, no matter in which country one resides.

The MSM has come to wholly support the Left and all its nonsense because the internet has destroyed their business model. It is far more likely that the Left will bail them out and continue their current existence than would the Right.

Academia, already largely dependant on the government money hose, senses their business model becoming archaic, irrational, and wasteful in the internet age. It is far more likely that the Left will bail them out and continue their current, bloated existence than would the Right.

The Obama CIA, DOJ, & FBI et al have a lot of plainly criminal and treasonous activities to bury, and the Left will gladly oblige them, while the Right will much more likely prosecute, eventually. Of course, the Rino Bush/Cheney administration committed far worse, but would never be uncovered and prosecuted without first going through the more recent shenanigans of the Left, and this must irk the left side of the Deep State to no end.

Thus with self-serving ideologies, elections are about power: to get and stay rich, to get bailed out, to bury capital crimes and other felonies, and above all to retain that power – indefinitely.

I’ve never been a believer in traditional Christianity, even though I was dragged to church till 13. (Not an atheist either.) But humans have always needed and yearned for a spiritual vision tied to a communal support system to exist without its counterpart, nihilism.

And that’s what we have today. Nietzsche nailed it late 1800s with his “God is dead” quote, and what that would help to usher in in the 20th century.

But you can’t erase that core desire. The river’s been silted up for a long time, and, in the West, trickles, and now streams, have been set loose.

Just like the worst of religious faith, today’s perverted and secular offshoots are identical in their cultish beliefs and behaviour, their enabling and acceleration of desire for ‘justifiable’ prosecution and violence, their intolerance of different ‘faiths’, their puritanical squeamishness, their unwillingness to, and fear of, entertaining opposing ideas, their group pile-ons (made much worse by social media), their blinkered ignorance, their self-righteousness, and, yes, their realization of and desire for personal profit.

It’s a human need to belong, to be on the ‘right side’ of history. The intensity of this manifestation is always made worse and more ugly by economic downturns and crashes.

I hope Trump wins (without too much bloodshed in the streets propagated by Dem shadowplayers), but the evil turn in the sociopolitical climate isn’t going anywhere even if the Republicans sweep all houses.

SF after being married to a devout Christian now for six years I can say that, although she and the Bible have made me a better man, I don’t subscribe to all that Christianity espouses. One has to still work out his own salvation and use his own lizard brain.

Exactly, SY. Christianity has a lot of excellent precepts, and many of our lasting institutions follow a Christian morality, to varying extents. But it’s all about individual development. And there are esoteric interpretations and practises within the exoteric traditions of all religions, some of which are … ahem, inconvenient to the latter.

The Democrats love Islam and China, but these two hate each other. Strange bedfellows.

Birds fly, Men drink – and fly through drinking. The Muslims would close the bars, thus they are the enemy. China would shut down the Internet and are also the enemy. And their Friend the Democrats are shutting down the internet and our businesses. Another enemy. Intersectional Enemies. Every hand is against us, yet we may triumph yet, at least for an hour. Trump has to clean house or America is doomed by 2024.

    • shox October 26, 2020 at 7:20 pm #

      @Yohannon

That’s the best contradiction in their worldview which you could ferret out?

How about the push to allow more Muslim immigration whilst promoting feminism and militating aggressively against “toxic masculinity,” the “patriarchy,” and exaggerating how oppressed women are in order to exalt them to the top of the hierarchy. Ask France how their culture, values, traditions, customs, institutions and rule of law are doing, particularly in regard to the treatment of women, after decades of unrestricted Muslim immigration. The Muslims don’t have any patience and tolerance whatsoever for Western innovations like feminism, gay rights and same-sex marriages. Ask French women (in secret of course, since in public, white males are the real enemy) what they really think and how they’re really doing. Ask any feminist to wear a mini-skirt and tank-top and take a stroll through one of Paris’s Muslim neighborhoods.

“Integration and assimilation have turned out to be complete failures. Only minorities can be assimilated, not mobs. The German people are disappearing before our very eyes. There is a change of people. You just have to take a stroll through Germany’s big cities. 75 per cent of Turks (naturalised or not, from first generation to the third) consider Germany only as an ‘economic fatherland’; they still feel that they are Turks and Muslims and watch only Turkish TV. Out of 800,000 annual births, only 278,000 births of Christian babies are recorded (1998 statistics), a terrifying 35 per cent of births.”
? Guillaume Faye, Convergence of Catastrophes

“History teaches us that humans do not change their civilisation after deliberation, or by their own willpower, but in the wake of chaos that they themselves have provoked.”
? Guillaume Faye, Convergence of Catastrophes

“Whether we like it or not, Islam has entered its third phase of conquest, towards the ‘Universal Caliphate’. The first two phases happened in the Seventh to the Eleventh centuries, as well as in the Sixteenth to the Eighteenth centuries. It is a question of a groundswell that the governments of Islamic countries, which are pro-Western out of temporary calculation, cannot disguise for long. Islam’s principal weapon is its demographic vigour, in the face of Western countries that are experiencing depopulation. This confrontation will cover the planet and will usually take the form of civil war, with episodes of classic war.”
? Guillaume Faye, Convergence of Catastrophes

Some people like Ike. I like George. Of those who have courage, it’s usually of the physical variety. And many who could face the elements would blanch at facing a living foe. Faye has intellectual integrity and the moral courage to speak him mind, despite his ideas being the antithesis of the current ethos. Both are rare in themselves, but to combine both at such a high level is incredible in this day and age. He is a throwback to a more vital European Age.

The winding up is a slow process: another twist, another turn and the energy stored adds up. The stress increases. We don’t notice much. A creaking here a groaning there. But so far so good it all holds together. Then something breaks. The unwinding is fast. Things spin around, fly off crash into each other.

The system goes into a stable minimum energy state, a landscape strewn with carrion men groaning for burial.

Been reading Clusterfuck Nation a long time; certainly longer than 2 decades. Finally! My thoughts regarding this whole goshdarrn mess …

    1. Get Trump re-elected.

    2. During the Obama admenstruation, signed into law was the National Defense Authorization Act. The NDAA.

    3. Buried D-E-E-P within the NDAA is the root of the problems that are now so confounding everything and everyone.

    4. Buried in there is something called the ‘Smith-Mundt Modernization Act’.

    5. No one (except the MOST evil ones) has ever heard about it. Never any discussion about it, because we have been turned into a nation of skimmers (for the most part) as it pertains to reading, and THIS is what they had counted upon in order to destroy America.

    6. To Wit . .

    7. Previously during wartime, propoganda was sanctioned by the US government for use against the enemy

    8. The Smith-Mundt Modernization Act has made it fully lawful and sanctioned by the US government to use propoganda against it’s own citizens.

    9. As such, it has been “Game On” for the mainstream media and Facebook, Twitter, Google, et. al to do what they have done to us.

    10. Hell, our own government wanted EVERYTHING that is now happening TO OCCUR!

    11. I believe that this needs to be fixed.

    12. I don’t believe this would entail rocket science or brain surgery

Thanks for reading this! It’s become simply too much to keep this info to myself and not share it. THE TIME IS RIGHT!

    • SouthernYankee October 26, 2020 at 4:29 pm #

Thx VG, I’ll have to read up on the Smith-Mundt Act

      • tucsonspur October 26, 2020 at 7:40 pm #

It seems a bit confusing to me. Here’s part of the Act:

‘Amends the Foreign Relations Authorization Act, Fiscal Years 1986 and 1987 to prohibit funds for the Department of State or the Board from being used to influence public opinion or propagandizing in the United States. (Under current law such provision applies to the United States Information Agency [USIA].)’

It says ‘to’ prohibit, not ‘that’ prohibit.

I guess the interpretation is what they want it to be.

        • sophia October 26, 2020 at 9:27 pm #

          Tucson,

That reading is unclear.Does it amend an act that used to prohibit propaganda? I think that is what is meant. The 1986, 1987 act prohibited funds for propaganda, and Obama amended that.

More very cogent arguments from JHK against supporting Biden today. I share the disappointment at the intransigence of the two diametrically opposed camps in which we find ourselves. But I do not reject the Democratic Party because it lacks purity. Political capital is not achieved by truthfulness and honor but by devious, dirty trickery. For me, this election has a lot to do with personality. Trump is a birther, which is more revolting to me than any of Biden’s past financial and political chicanery. Log-in to Twitter and you see this:

“You might encounter misleading information about voting by mail
Election experts confirm that voting by mail is safe and secure, even with an increase in mail-in ballots. Even so, you might encounter unconfirmed claims that voting by mail leads to election fraud ahead of the 2020 US elections.”

How many ask themselves why Twitter and the other social media and tech giants are pushing this and other agendas?

Why has the MSN, social media, infotainment business, the MIC, the national police (FBI), the clandestine and espionage services, the elite and 1%, the patrician class, the wannabe patrician class, the foreign agitators, the global world order hegemony, the pseudo-intellectuals, the influencers, the useful idiots, all consolidated behind one feeble man and one shockingly powerful political party?
    Why?

The new world order is here. It’s only a matter of time, but alas, even those working ages to bring it to fruition grow impatient.

Their progress doesn’t have time for your dissent.
If you’re not awake to that now, you will be woke soon.

You’ll still have places to run, to escape to. It’s not a global dominance yet. Backwaters and failed states await you.

Yeah. I get the feeling that even if Trump wins, the globalization will continue. The local chapter, the Deep State, led by the Dems is still in majority control of DC. Trump will be totally outnumbered if the Senate is lost. Nothing will happen for four years. Which is a heck of a lot better than more encroachment by the globalist Left.

      • SouthernYankee October 27, 2020 at 1:15 am #

The very ignorant politicians are in denial. You are right, Peak oil will stop international travel and trade. Right now, though, all the Elite cast of characters are doing what they always do when an impossible situation arises, ignore it, hide it, blame it on the opposition.

You want to stop globalization? Then stop trade, stop the flow of ideas and capital, stop the flow of people.

It was meant to be that way, though I don’t know why,

Right, globalism is an philosophy, globalization is a process.

And yes, globalization is being foisted on us by our domestic enemies. For some insane reason, they think globalism is the way to go.

Wait until the American people find out how they are being sold down the river and lose their fine lifestyle in the name of globalism.

          • Night Owl October 28, 2020 at 6:38 pm #

Globalization is largely based on trade and sharing ideas, tech. — even culture.

Globalism is focused on the elimination of national sovereignty and the centralization of power to allow an elite class greater access to and control over populations and natural resources.

Globalization on its own is actually a good thing, IMO. Globalism is a form of fascism that many have dubbed corpratism or corporate fascism.

Flu is not as transmittable or as virulent as Covid. Lo and behold, the mitigation efforts against Covid are probably stopping flu in its tracks.

      • Kim October 27, 2020 at 12:04 am #

Because the same old people who were being killed by the flu are being killed by covid instead?

So if you’re not already old and sick it is not a problem and never was.

        • SoftStarLight October 27, 2020 at 2:10 am #

Or what if the flu cases are being recorded as covid cases? And any potential deaths resulting from these “covid” cases would then be “covid” deaths. Thus bolstering the pandemic numbers and justification for more lockdowns, restrictions, and vaccines.

          • JohnAZ October 27, 2020 at 10:04 am #

I know we used to administer flu tests to patients in about the last two years I worked the floor. Same thing getting a sample, it was uncomfortable. Supposedly, the tests today can distinguish flu from Covid. Does that mean that everyone is getting double tested? Some one who is sick and tests negative for Covid has the flu? How many fevered patients are assumed to have Covid? Or the flu? How many diagnoses are determined by the MD’s political stance?

That is why the only thing that matters is trends. Is the cases or deaths going up or down? Why is there a steady state situation instead of cases going to zero? Why is Covid not going away like the MDs told Trump it would? With mitigation at say 80%, why are there so many escapes causing the steady state condition? A really big question. What would happen if we did let ‘er rip and just mixed it up as before? Would we have a real pandemic with overloaded hospitals? No one knows the answer to this, which is why the prospect scares everyone so much. I think Europe’s current situation is an indicator though.

“How many fevered patients are assumed to have Covid? Or the flu? ”

Descriptions of your health system seem to be somewhat lurid. I wouldn’t know. But over here, where there is no financial advantage to a doctor in diagnosing anything at all in anyone (outside of the private sector), people would be tested properly on entering a hospital.

My late brother went into hospital with cardiac arrest and still had to be tested for Covid, partly because Covid can cause myocarditis, but also because you need to know which ICU to put a patient in, so that you don’t (a) infect them when they’re vulnerable and (b) infect other vulnerable patients, not to mention staff. He had no flu symptoms, so presumably wasn’t tested for flu, but they had to put him in a ‘possible Covid’ unit until they’d verified that he was negative, at which point he went into non-Covid intensive care.

How could you treat a person appropriately if you didn’t know whether they had Covid or flu?

    A question and a comment.

Why didn’t John Roberts swear in Barrett tonight. Clarence Thomas was superb but I thought the Chief Justice was supposed to swear in the associate justices.

Anyone notice that the Orange man is no longer orange. His hair is blonde and silver and his makeup is much lighter colored. No raccoon eyes. An improvement.

You’re conflating two different things. Namely the basic situation and the coming election. He does not believe that Trump (or anyone else’s victory) can save America and the World from what is coming. That being said, he is for the lesser of the two evils in the coming election. What is irrational about that? Nothing.

Maybe you’re the one looking for a savior or a simple one shot solution. Not JHK.

Globalization though is precipitating the destruction of all natural habitats and therefore essentially all life on Earth. It is also relentlessly compartmentalizing, commodifying, and standardizing all human life and experience. It’s a curse as much as its benefits have been a blessing. Tyrannical elites and dictators come and go and are a dime a dozen. Their days are surely numbered but in the meanwhile can we escape?? Speaking of precipitation..

    DID SHREDNI GET BANNED?

      Perhaps he got Shred-ded.

Only kidding. I don’t recall him saying anything particularly offensive just before he went quiet, despite being reminded fairly recently to mind his anti-semitic tongue.

      I have a theory about Sredni/Janos.

Naturally, being a theory, it may be entirely wrong. But it’s a theory among theories anyway.

I think Janos may have been out-Janos-ed. So, according to your view of his status here, he may have just chosen pastures new, or been re-posted.

Like I said, just a theory. Came to me out of the blue. As a mere passing thought, I have no particular interest in defending it.

JHK seems to have finally come out of the Trump closet, just in the nick of time for the election, surprise!

Railing on only one side of the corruption constantly, always without evidence, and giving the other side an entire pass with such a critical eye. Seems like plain old boring partisanship to me.

If the analysis was done in good faith and sprayed the venom in both directions for such obvious issues on both sides with the point being to vote for a third party then you’d actually have something.

Instead, you seem to be a sad old man screaming get off my lawn, only concentrating on one side’s faults. Too bad, I assumed you were so much more.

    • Islander October 28, 2020 at 1:18 pm #

I don’t see it that way!

Speaking only for myself, of course, not for Kunstler.

I have been on the fence about this mess for a very long time. I couldn’t believe it that I was gradually getting so disgusted with the Dems—disgust that started with the immediate aftermath of the 2016 election— that I was actually starting to see Trump as the lesser of the evils. The longer theRussiagate fraud went on, the more I saw Obama’s fingerprints in that. I had lost faith in Obama by January 2009, and he never did anything much for me to regain it.

Then I sensed that there was something very, very wrong with the Dems’ Biden choice. I knew enough about the Ukraine situation, too, to suspect that there were plenty of cockroaches in those walls.

Finally, after the covid-19 and BLM summer I started to suspect that quite apart from any personal issues with the two men, there are some relevant ideological issues such as globalism vs. nationalism —which it has become absolutely impossible to discuss with any friends who are Democrats. They just dissolve in hatred of Trump. They can no longer think of anything else. This total emotionalism is a give-away of some kind of mental programming, seems to me.

Then came the increasingly obvious pattern of censorship by the current “left,” along with the increasingly obvious fecklessness of the MSM in reporting the news . . . All of these issues that Kunstler mentions. They do have a cumulative effect. And eventually one reaches a point where voting for the Dem monkey troupe—visualizing Clinton as SecDef and other horrors—started to make the crazy notion of voting for Trump look less crazy. Now I am proactively interested in preventing a “Biden” presidency (quos because, actually, a Kamala Harris presidency).

I am grateful to Kunstler for stating these questions so clearly. They are a good summation of my own “Werdegang.”

  82. drewkeeling October 27, 2020 at 11:28 am #

This is a useful summation, though few diehard Democratic Party proponents (e.g. those who act as though Trump landed unexpectedly from Outer Space and instantly got tens of millions to support him, and dislike of the Democratic Party had nothing to do with it) will read it.

And, even a fraction of this list of complaints could suffice as a plausible indictment.

It does not follow, however, that four more years of the same presidential administration is a wise solution.

    Several questions are begged:

    1. If Biden does become the next president, what might be a viable response? Trump / Pence in 2024?

    2. If more from Trump is not the best response to the shortcomings of the Democratic Party, why not focus more on such alternatives?

    3. Every one of the last nine fall presidential elections, up to and including the current one, has had a candidate Bush, Clinton, Obama or Trump. In four of the nine, both candidates were from one of those families or were VPs to one. Are there more effective and less rigid ways of improving America’s future prospects than running presidential campaigns every four years (that last about two years), e.g. running presidential campaigns about half the time?

When laws are written by those to be impacted by said laws, as in the 2005 (?) Dubba debt and reconciliation act, you have effectively ceded control to the JP Morgan’s of today. Trump has been the ONLY outlier elected since Ike, who warned about the MIC, which could neither
control nor assassinate him. Deep State as such is, in my opinion, a consortium of powerful individuals with similar goals who have near total control through exerting power at appropriate times. We exert no such power and -excluding Trump- we’ve been served up two vetted choices to “pick” from, based on supposed Repub/Dem platforms differences. Being somewhat outside their control Trump must be kept off balance enough for minimal negative impact to their control of events. My fear is that, unlike Ike, Trump in NOT considered “off limits” to prejudicial judgement upon re-election. An aside; Three targets at 3, 4 and 5 yds from concealed carry. One – two- two and back to first target for second round. Practice with BAD intent.

    • JohnAZ October 27, 2020 at 3:26 pm #

      Get some

The Deep State is a group of the Elite that want the central government to run the show in this country. They are comprised of the most of the Democratic Party, the RINO branch of the GOP, the bureaucracy of the executive branch, the intelligence group, esp. the FBI and CIA, the military with its cadre of defense contractors, aka the MIC, the national media. One of the big problems currently is that much decision making is done in the parts of the DS that are not elected, ie the voters do not control the Deep State. That is how so much of our economy has been shipped offshore.

The Deep State’s primary job is to protect itself from its primary enemies, Trump and the Deplorables. The bureaucracy is protecting their jobs, the military its ability to make war, and the intelligence agencies are protecting heir own egos. These all are folks that think that people are serfs and they should be running things at all times. Trump and his populism scared them to death. And still does.

If Trump loses, I hope he forms a new party whose identity will be based on the destruction of the Deep State.

    Flu vs. Covid

    Old vs. young.

One huge difference why I would much rather get the flu is
Ace 1 receptors. That is what Covid attacks.

Flu does not chew holes in your organs like Covid does.

Actually, it is not the virus that does the damage, it is our immune systems, namely killer Ts and antibodies that do Most of the damage.

Flu receptors are in the respiratory system only. Ace1s are everywhere, that is why Covid causes the widespread damage it does.

Did you know the senior flu shot has 4x the antigen the regular shot does?

As I have said, these politicians in DC, when confronted with a no solution problem, like Covid, just ignore it.

Notice that Biden has no real plan to defeat Covid, lockdowns will only take the crud to steady state rates. Attempts to open will cause surges if mitigation is not present.

No solution. If Biden wins, no solution, if Trump wins, no solution.

          Recent no solution situations?

Just the other day I ran into a little anecdote in much the same vein.

A British regiment was holding a line of trench in WW I opposite a Saxon German regiment.

For the entire month or so that the Saxon unit was in the trenches opposite the Brits there were no dastardly sniper shootings , because the Saxons were decent , laid – back , sensible , moderate blokes , presumably.

Then the Brits got sent a warning — FROM THE SAXON ENEMY —

” We are being rotated out tomorrow . Our replacement is going to be a Prussian regiment , and the Prussians are assholes.

          So watch out ! ”

Sure enough , when the Prussians replaced the Saxons , sniper murders , which had been non – existent , became now routine.

Do I have to point out that these are all white people I’m referring to ?

” “when we are all brown, race relations are bound to improve”

Ah, echoes of the Kalergi Plan! ”

This mixed – race girl must admit I have no idea what the Kalergi Plan is.

I do , though , know why it is that JHK sounds perfectly reasonable and sober , even genius , to me —

          — up to the point where he takes out the red , white , and blue ,

and trots out the old narrative that the big union is a wonderful thing.

You haven’t been around here long if you don’t know that I categorically and absolutely reject , as a total and complete god damned lie , the conventional narrative of the American Civil War.

Southerners considered Northerners assholes , and wanted a divorce.

400, 000 dead Southerners as good as proves the Yankees were assholes.

This Leftie ( ??? ) has no idea what to make of it when right – wingers say that if you don’t like America , then leave it.

          — And then in the next breathe , describe Abraham Lincoln as a good guy

when that good guy had 400,000 people shot , and an entire region torched , precisely to prevent any such thing as ” leave it if you don’t like it. “

            @ Keas Anna

You are not aware of the Kalergi Plan? Well, maybe it doesn’t exist. Wikipedia tells me it is a far-right-wing racist fantasy such as the idea of The Great Replacement and summarizes it more or less like this:

The Kalergi Plan is a far-right, anti-semitic, white nationalist conspiracy theory, which states that a plot to mix white Europeans with other races via immigration was constructed by Austrian-Japanese politician Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi and promoted in aristocratic European social circles.

But we know the plan does in fact exist because we have the book (1925) by Count Coudenhove Kalergi outlining and explaining the plan:

            https://archive.org/details/PracticalIdealism-EnglishTranslation

The basic idea described in this book is to create in Europe a new race with new features and characteristics by mixing White Europeans, Asians and black Africans in order to change and alter the characteristics of the European people in “positive ways”.

Kalergi – the product of an Austrian diplomat father and Japanese mother, he was born in Austro-Hungary in 1894 – went on from this noble base to become one of the founding ideologues behind European integration and the European Union.

Kalergi is also a founder of the Pan-Europa movement which strives “to replace the nationalist German ideal of racial community with the goal of an ethnically heterogeneous and inclusive European nation based on a commonality of culture.”

But was Kalergi important or influential at all? Perhaps he was. Kalergi was the first of only three Presidents of the Pan-European Movement.

            – Count Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi (1923–1972), elected the first International President in 1926.

            – Otto von Habsburg, MEP, the former Crown Prince Otto of Austria-Hungary (1973–2004)

            – Alain Terrenoire, former Member of Parliament and MEP, France (2004–)

A Habsburg prince is in the list! So, contra Wikipedia, Kalergi is favored in artistocratic circles!

The Pan-European society each year – now in concert with the European Parliament – awards the very prestigious Charlemagne Prize. Here is a list of its recipients with a few of the most interesting names highlighted. It is quite a rogues gallery of corrupt globalist scum. Observe the first name on the list:

Your viewpoint is abhorrent and racist from a humane pov yet one echoed in nature herself. Consider the Chipmunks of the Sierras. Eight species, four on the West slope and four on the East. To wit:

“The ecologists’ term for chipmunks’ aggression is competitive exclusion. No two species with exactly the same ecological requirements can exist in the same habitat, at least not indefinitely. One always replaces the other eventually. The chipmunks ecological requirements are just different enough that the four species can coexist, but only by occupying different habitats, a separation constantly enforced by aggression. The little Sagebrush or Least Chipmunk, with a physiology that permits it to live virtually anywhere in the Sierra, has the broadest fundamental niche of any chipmunk. But because of competitive exclusion by Yellow Pine chipmunks, its realized niche is restricted to areas where Yellow Pine Chipmunks do not survive. Yellow Pine Chipmunks have have a narrower fundamental niche than Sagebrush Chipmunks, but they make up for it by being superior competitors. Charles Darwin, one of the founders of the theory of natural selection, once commented, ‘It is difficult to believe in the dreadful quiet war of organic beings going on in the peaceful woods and smiling fields.’ So it is with Chipmunks.”

Peterson Field Guide, “Ecology of Western Forests”, Essay, Why so many kinds of Chipmunks?,

Tuff stuff. In short, some of the Chipmunks are more chipper and some are more chimpy. The Lodgepole Chipmunk is even worse than the Yellow Pine as the biggest Chimpmunk. In human terms, the Bantu drove the Bushmen into the wastelands as they migrated south. Why would anyone live there if they didn’t have to? What is the fate of American Whites to be? Are we now the “Least Chipmunk”, fated to be driven out into the most remote areas of North America by more aggressive races or worse?

Only Trump can bring the races together. He is the Great Magician, the Dr Doolittle. But for how long? And at what price, monetary and otherwise?

    To Freddie Mars

Yes, I consider every administration since the second term of Reagan to be Deep State dominated. Left and right are irrelevant. But yes, trending left over the forty years. How do you think we got our country into the mess it is in.

Remember when a favorite saying was “ There is no difference between a GOP and a Dem?” There was a reason for that!

    • FreddieMars October 27, 2020 at 8:17 pm #

So, JohnAZ, were you equally as vociferous against Bush II’s administration as you are of Obama’s?

      • JohnAZ October 27, 2020 at 8:33 pm #

        Just about!

I voted for Obama the first time. I believed the tripe that he wanted to pull the Blacks into the mainstream. I was wrong. Bad vote! I did not like the hawk McCain.

I voted for Jeff Flake for the Senate, he was our representative. Bad vote!

I was floating along sorta involved emotionally about The Bush 2 world, then in 2008 I read The Long Emergency. I have not been the same since.

The Deep State is the enemy of the American people. That is my basic belief. I am a Deplorable because I believe that Trump is the only person in DC that believes the same.

    Well, ladies and germs;

Trump did it. Barrett has been sworn in. Three, count them, three SC justices named in his term. Win or lose, Trump will be the gift that keeps on giving, for a generation or so.

If the Dems sweep, the only block to the socialistic takeover of the country with the balance of powers will be the Supreme Court. Barrett et al of the conservatives will be a significant block to the takeover. Until the Dems pack the court or do something else to cancel the effect of the court.

      Barrett is very important!

meh , I listened to about 45 minutes of the confirmation hearings on the radio.

And that was probably quite enough.

      ” I’m a judge , and the involved mother of seven kids ! ”

      Gimme a fucking break !

Did she stop to throw in the caveat ,

” You could just as well hear ; ” You , too , can be a judge ” from any garden variety Bolshevik picked at random ?

      Nope .

Did she hasten to point out to any little girls who might be looking to her for an example ,

” It might just be , you know , that juggling 7 kids and a judgeship at the same time is a bit easier and more practical in a context of a 100k a year .

100k a year will not at all be the context for most of you , and so will you will have to choose between being a mother , or being a judge.

If you refuse to make the choice , well , at least a lot of people besides just yourself will go to great lengths to argue that the result isn’t complete shit , even though we all know it is complete shit.

      * wink *

If you do soberly acknowledge that poor people must economize , and so must choose one or the other , not both ,

( having your cake and eating it too was the prerogative of the aristocracy 500 years ago , so it is now , and so it will be in 500 years . But not for you dummy. )

and you choose scrubbing pots and changing diapers , then a great many people — and most of those people calling themselves fans of womens rights ! — will look down on you , hold you in contempt . ”

Did she throw in that caveat ?

      Nope.

If that is in any way a conservative or a traditionalist then there’s hope for Joseph Stalin.

    • sdf October 27, 2020 at 10:00 pm #

Totally. He has turned the entire Republican party into a joke. There’s a local Republican group in my sister’s town known as the “Trump Train” and they spend their time going into local businesses and harrassing employees and customers who are visible minorities, and taking BLM flags and running them over with their trucks and setting them on fire. Some people need a real hobby.

Not to mention the Republican party rolling back over 80 significant environmental regulations, or not having a plan to transition away from oil.

Not to mention the hypocrisy of the SCOTUS nomination. She might be a fine person (or not), but so was Obama’s appointee 8 months before the end of his term.

I hate both parties as much as the next person, and have always voted third-party (except for Obama’s second term, I did vote for him). The toxic culture of Trump groupies makes me want to vomit, and is probably going to make me vote for Biden over my usual third party pick. To assume Trump and his Republican cronies are somehow less corrupt than Democrats is laughable indeed. They’re all DC swamp creatures on both sides of the aisle.

My priority is for us to at least have someone in office who has a plan to keep our heads above water, because God knows Trump has no plan.

In point of fact I did not recognize the story as an out – an – out fraud.

But then , blatantly , poisonously condescending and mocking treatments of Southern people and culture by Northerners calling themselves cosmopolitan egalitarian types are a dime a dozen ,

” It’s the primitive, reptilian brain that dominates, that wants the fight, the feral firing pin that hungers for the trigger. ”

    No doubt .

Once upon a time white people considered snipers and spies in the category of bottom – feeding scum of the earth.

Now spies and snipers are celebrities.

Once upon a time white people cited Pavlik Morozov as an example of just how diabolically twisted and flatly evil things could get.

Granted , nowadays the average person wouldn’t know who Pavlik Morozov was , but , anyway , the whole idea of THAT is presented as example of ….. GOOD FAMILY VALUES !

You have come a long way ( down ) white girl.

    • Kim October 27, 2020 at 11:36 pm #

      Pavlik Morozov

You know the entire Pavlik/pavel Morozov story is bullshit, don’t you?

For those who don’t know, here is the real story.

At the time, this was the early 1930s, the communists had really turned up the intensity of their anti-family propaganda just as the murdered bodies of two young brothers, Pavel and Fedor Morozov, were found. This was in Siberia. The soviet press at first said they were killed by “kulaks” because they were such good communists but then, even better, the story became that Pavel had in fact denounced his own father in court as a class enemy so then he was killed by his own relatives.

      Message? Families are bad.

The commies went crazy for this and spent three years building Pavel up in the media as a prize soviet citizen and even decided to build him a mausoleim in Red Square. In the end, they didn’t build it, but hundreds of other mini-mausoleums were built around the country.

Why the change of mind? Well, there had been a change of policy wrt the family because there was a worker shortage so familes were back in again. Pavel was still said to have betrayed his family, but only because he had been advised to by a secret policeman, so that was okay. He was officially authorized to betray, you see, so that was not monstrous at all. State above family.

This is the kind of bs you get when you let communists anywhere near you. But the modern insane commie policy of cutting off boy’s dicks – chemically or otherwise – is probably even worse than this.

      • KesaAnna October 27, 2020 at 11:51 pm #

” You know the entire Pavlik/pavel Morozov story is bullshit, don’t you? ”

        Yes.

        But then ;

” Message? Families are bad. ”

        ” State above family. ”

Are the meat and potatoes of the thing.

Whether Pavlik Morozov was a Young Pioneer or not , a police informant or not , right – handed or left – handed , blue – eyed or brown – eyed , is neither here , nor there.

        • KesaAnna October 28, 2020 at 12:24 am #

” But the modern insane commie policy of cutting off boy’s dicks – chemically or otherwise – is probably even worse than this. ”

          Ugh ,

I would say that when you swallow Social Darwinist swill like , ” State above family. ” you have as good as already arrived at weird shit like encouraging eight year old boys to become Brownie Scouts.

The whole sex thing is roughly analogous , in my view , to the whole self – defense / gun rights thing.

That is , the gun control lobby was always a fucking joke.

Gun control became a not – at – all – funny reality because presumed / supposed gun rights advocates were so fucking greedy and vain to keep guns out of the hands of the average Joe next door that the situation very quickly morphed into a case of ,

” with friends like these , who the fuck even needs an opposition ? ”

Which is to say that in the case of sex , to make a long story short ,

All of this began — and ended ,

when some asshole who might have called himself a socialist , or might have called himself a Falangist , or might have called himself the president of the George Washington fan club ,

made the assumption that it really didn’t mean shit that for 50,000 years the only thing remotely resembling a government was the family .

Nope , all that means nothing.

No big fucking clues in any of that pointing in a certain direction !

No , it’s a perfectly rational and sober idea that some stranger who has taken a few courses , read a few books , and is doing it for the money , and is going to collect that money even if the sky should fall on the family ,

should have more authority in a house than do the mother or father , in every concievable way , EXCEPT for the ONE DETAIL of how you go about fucking.

Nope ,nothing wrong with that picture.

Nothing particularly bizarre or weird about innovations and impositions which almost certainly would have shocked Nero or Ivan the Terrible , in the shear degree of license taken , the power assumed.

Biden means the suicide of America. A new article by Brian T. Kennedy in Imprimis (ImPREEmees) published by Hillsdale College makes this clear. (Kennedy is president of the American Strategy Group, chairman of the Committee for the Present Danger: China, and a board member and senior fellow of the Claremont Institute.) In his must-read exposé, titled Facing Up to the China Threat, he reveals, among many other horrendous facts:

“Perhaps the greatest threat to the U.S. posed by the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] is its corruption of America’s business and financial elites, who view the economic benefits of dealing with China as more important than America’s national interests. If there is a single group committed to the globalist project and the delusory China dream, it is Wall Street. Our great investment banks are now selling trillions of dollars in debt and equity in Chinese corporations to American investors and retirees. They are literally betting on the success of China at the expense of the U.S.”

This quote describes the mindset of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. perfectly. He is a traitor sans pareil. Another alarming bit of information revealed by Kennedy is that

“It is also believed that Chinese operatives in the Houston consulate provided intelligence to Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters in Houston as a way of demonstrating their solidarity. Indeed, there is growing evidence that the CCP’s United Front includes these groups, and that some of the funding for BLM and Antifa is coming from CCP-sponsored or affiliated groups: Liberation Road, the Freedom Road Socialist Organization, and the Chinese Progressive Association.”

The average American is oblivious to these facts regarding China’s policy of Unrestricted Warfare against us pointed out by Kennedy and blind to a number of others which can only be described as hair-raising. Our citizens, stupefied by cognitive dissonance, have no idea of the kind of savagery and oppression the CCP has in store for us if we let the globalists win and install the Biden Trojan Horse in the White House. Americans have been brainwashed by Leftist propaganda in the media and taxpayer-supported universities to think that America needs to be overthrown.

If the Marxists succeed and Sleepy Joe wins, Yankeeland can kiss goodbye to the only civilization worth the name. It will be replaced by a continent-wide concentration camp.

    • SoftStarLight October 28, 2020 at 2:36 am #

This sounds true. Communists and Marxists regimes always seem to control populations with gulags, internment camps, labor camps, and often just plain genocide. What the media and shadow state politicians are doing to gaslight Americans is to say Socialism (which is more acceptable) to describe their policies which are ultimately Globalist, Communist and Luciferian. The CCP is already deeply embedded in our society. They have people for example planted at Facebook who are now directing censorship efforts across that platform as we type.

    Dark Winter
    Overview
The Dark Winter exercise, held at Andrews AFB, Washington, DC, June 22-23, 2001, portrayed a fictional scenario depicting a covert smallpox attack on US citizens. The scenario is set in 3 successive National Security Council (NSC) meetings (Segments 1, 2 and 3) that take place over a period of 14 days. Former senior government officials played the roles of NSC members responding to the evolving epidemic; representatives from the media were among the observers of these mock NSC meetings and played journalists during the scenario’s press conferences.

    centerforhealthsecurity.org

Sound familiar? Like the Event 201 before the Covid outbreak. But it was planned years earlier. As they going to bring this one out mothballs too or was Joe just being garrulous?

    • SoftStarLight October 28, 2020 at 2:17 am #

Some people think that if Trump wins then the globalists will unleash terror, and potentially something like a new pandemic. The last naturally occurring cases of smallpox were reported around 1980. At this time there are no known cures or treatments for smallpox and the vaccine’s side effects make it too risky to use for routine immunizations. Maybe just maybe Joe was giving the people a heads up on the ultimate price of disobeying the globalist overlords.

      • KesaAnna October 28, 2020 at 3:03 am #

I’m certainly no fan of these bastards.

Never the less , My reaction would be that sounds terribly far – fetched.

But , then again , presumably the idea that the heirs of Mao are the A – Team is not far – fetched.

        Likewise ,

You can put a man on the moon , but the only way you can conceivably compete with the crude system of slave labor in places like China and El Salvador is for everyone to pull 50K out of their asses , get a ph. D , and work 80 – hour weeks.

And presumably that is not a far – fetched narrative either.

        Oh well.

        • Kim October 28, 2020 at 4:01 am #

Since the early days of the John Birch Society, people have been saying “That sounds far-fetched” and didn’t want to hear the warnings.

“I don’t believe in conspiracy theories.”

“Oh, that’s just a Red Scare” or “That’s McCarthyism”.

And now look what we’ve got. The FBI and DOJ wouldn’t even investigate when for almost a year they had proof that a Presidential candidate was bought and paid for by the Chinese Communist Party.

People need to get it through their thick skulls: communism is a tool of globalism and globalism is a long-term plan to destroy Western Civilization and replace it with a global, technocratic, anti-Christian (Satanic) despotism.

And no, that isn’t just “fake news” or a “conspiracy theory”.

It is now undeniably right in front of our eyes.

Yep! And interestingly enough the Globalist Elites are actually very open about their ideas and plans now. They constantly drop hints about their methods and plots in various ways whether through the media or movies, etc. But at the same time they have mesmerized people into believing somehow that there is no such thing as conspiracy and operating in secret. People can watch movies filled with conspiracies and secrets and yet they are the same people who assume that basically government officials are open books. It’s actually very strange but a lot of people are seeing through it now.

These people are consciously evil and anti-human. They conspire and organize on an historic level to advance their greed and selfishness through lies and violence.

            And they exult in it.

Beantownbill. Let’s avoid terms like “all and every” which are argument invalidators.

There are some very peculiar activities being conducted by some of society’s elite. Even the mainstream media has reported about Nxium, child trafficking, the Hollywood rape culture, etc. And there’s much they have refused to report – things worse than you’ll see in “Eyes Wide Shut”.

Yet apologists for the Global Elite continue to claim its all just crazy conspiracy theory horse shit.

A Dutch banker named Ronald Bernard was encouraged to join a secret society by his superiors. He personally witnessed child rape and murder conducted by people who claimed to be “satanists”.

” Kalergi is also a founder of the Pan-Europa movement which strives “to replace the nationalist German ideal of racial community with the goal of an ethnically heterogeneous and inclusive European nation based on a commonality of culture.”

I suppose that in theory there would be a difference there ?

But the fact was that in practice there was no difference.

I didn’t actually count the pages ( rolls eyes ) but in Mein Kampf Hitler devotes a great many pages to running down the polyglot Austrian Empire ,

    and lauding the homogeneous Germany.

    OK.

    So far , so good.

But now look at a hypothetical map of Europe if the Third Reich had won the war.

If Hitler had won the war he would have , in effect , re – created the Austrian Empire , only ten times bigger , and so it seems to me reasonable to assume , ten times worse the polyglot.

Typically , when I point out to people the obvious implications in such a map ,

Whether the person in question loathes the idea of a German victory , or loves the idea ,

    I get , never the less , the same response ;

Well , the Nazis weren’t shy about exterminating people , so , no , it wasn’t going to be a Hapsburg Austrian polyglot !

In plain language , whether right – wing or left – wing , they really do seem to assume that Hitler really was an Aryan superman ,

with an honest – to – God magic wand.

    This extermination business ?

No , I’m NOT saying it didn’t happen.

I am saying 6 million dead , endless pictures of piles of bodies , and endless crying over Anne Frank ,

    is a bit misleading.

    How so ?

Well, Jews were only about 2 % of Europe’s over all population.

Throw in some Gypsies , some really hard case Communists and homosexuals , and the picture still doesn’t substantially improve.

We are roughly talking about in a random group of 100 people , generously , only about ten of them disappear.

And if truth be told , it’s a good bet that of those ten people , four to six of them were people you didn’t particularly like anyway.

So , basically , I would say , and rather confidently too , that the most impressive thing about the SS were their costumes.

To my way of thinking , the Rwandan genocide was much more impressive.

With a primarily volunteer , unpaid , force , armed primarily with machetes that wholesale for 50 cents , they managed to exterminate one – fifth of the total , general , population in one and a half months.

Maybe the master race is African ?

Anyway , if Germany had won the war , and if they were going to establish a German racial community over such a land mass ,

they were going to have to greatly up their game , to the Rwandan level.

Because we aren’t talking about a 2% of Jews here , a 2% of Gypsies there , and who knows how many homosexuals over there who won’t take no for an answer.

The numbers of people who are going to have to be shot or gassed really are impressive , really are staggering.

In summation , whatever Hitler preached , if the proof is in the action rather than the words ,

then , regardless of what Hitler claimed or didn’t claim , admitted or didn’t admit ,

the proof is right there , plain as day , in looking at a map of this victorious , and now gigantic , Third Reich.

At some point Hitler said to himself , ” Fuck the German racial community , I’m in for the power and the popularity , I’m in it to be a rock star. ”

Because no fucking way was this huge polyglot empire ever going to be a German racial community.

    Indeed , say the war ends March 12th , 1946 , with a complete German Victory ?

Then on March 12th , 1946 , Germans are already a second tier minority in their own empire.

No hypothetical , that’s what the numbers already say.

But then , there is no end of Americans who apparently subscribe to the absolutely fantastical notion that somehow the entire North American continent is going to vote itself into a white Protestant E Pluribus Unum with the Disney seal of approval.

    So go figure.

    • SoftStarLight October 28, 2020 at 2:49 am #

You think so? I can’t imagine many people thinking that all of North America would be a White Protestant empire when Canada and the US have been thoroughly inundated and overwhelmed by a hyper diverse flood of third world migration for decades and Mexico is mostly Mestizo to begin with. I think more people than ever are thinking that the US will probably dissolve and divide at some point. Maybe Canada will too.

I don’t think Blacks have secretly been in charge of America these past hundred years.

I don’t think the conventional American civil war narrative was cooked up by blacks , or by Jews , or even by the country club set.

You talked yourselves into the idea that Abraham Lincoln was Mother fucking Theresa , instead of the utter crackpot monster he was.

You talked yourselves past the truth that nobody hates white people more than other white people.

It’s plainly fucking obvious , in at least every fourth essay written by a white Northerner , regarding white Southerners , a hundred fucking years after the fact , that these white people hold their supposed white fellow citizens in complete contempt.

And rather than feeling any regret or scruple over having shot these people or otherwise ruined them , they rather , on the contrary , fucking revel in it.

          ‘O Captain! My Captain! our fearful trip is done;
          The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
          But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,[a]
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
          Fallen cold and dead’.

Do you think if a miracle happened and Blacks were suddenly given control of this country, they would have a single clue what to do next? What model would they use to govern? Power seekers suck at governing, they cause more misery in history than any other group of humans.

From my perspective, the Blacks have been given control of many of the cities in the country. Their governance of said cities is horrible, broke, in revolt, crime ridden.

Lack of a value system is a huge problem. South Chicago is often used against the Blacks. Without a solid families values system, it is no wonder that young Black folks migrate to the gangs, the only form of social organization they have available. It is a natural incubator for the entrance of crime syndicates.

Why have the now Black administration of Chicago used the gangs to promote growth in the Black communities and integrate them into the America mainstream. One day the Blacks are going to figure out how they have been used by the Democratic Party and their revolt will change things.

I have picked Chicago, but Baltimore, Washington, DC, LA, NYC all have the same problem. Also, white idiocy on the West Coast is no better. The common denominator, the color blue. The desire for power with no idea what to do with it.

        • SoftStarLight October 28, 2020 at 11:09 am #

I used to think that Abraham Lincoln was a monster. But I don’t anymore. I think that the truth is closer to that there were many monsters at the time. Different because of the time but generally the same as today. The Northern industrialists were just as cruel as any Southern slave master. Maybe some were more so for all we know. Either way the North won so basically at the end of the day that is the way it is no matter what we think. I actually wish that Lincoln would have had a complete victory but the Satanist John Wilkes Booth made sure that didn’t happen. And that is actually a factor in why we are where we are now.

          • Yohannon October 28, 2020 at 1:05 pm #

Studies were done at the time: southern slaves were often treated better and in better condition than northern industrial workers. Agriculture has a natural rhythm: Very hard work at certain times and much less the rest of the time. Lots of leisure in the winter. In contrast, industry has an inhuman rhythm. And with no unions around yet to mitigate it, the workers were treated horribly and it showed. Thus southern intellectuals responded to northerners, Free your slaves first.

          • SoftStarLight October 29, 2020 at 1:49 am #

This is true. So was Lincoln generally supportive of the industrialists? Was he one to overlook the bad working conditions for example? I would hope he wanted to reign them in just as much as the the plantation owners.

          • Yohannon October 29, 2020 at 4:45 pm #

Don’t know what Lincoln thought about industry. I think it was already an issue in England which began the industrial revolution, but I’m not sure it was here yet.

Much to the chagrin of US traditionalists, the Left has succeeded in changing the demographics of the US. It is not Blacks either, their percentage has hardly budged in sixty years. It is immigrants from Latin America and Asia that have changed things. Add on GOP RINOs like Bush 2 that encouraged Latino immigration. As Latin America has been a hot bed of socialism and Marxism since 1960, and before, it is no wonder that the Dems want to protect their increased presence here.

Its also too because so many people have been enriched in one way or another because of the current open borders system. And because a lot of people really do believe now what Biden actually said which is that America is just an idea. Its not like we never heard that before. That is intentionally said so that people begin to believe the lie. That America was never an actual people or country but it was just a place for a new idea and a new way of doing things.

From a completely unemotional point of view, you are correct. I understand how you are thinking. But the amount of suffering of the few percent and how it affected the general population is staggeringly out of proportion to the population numbers. Like I said, you seemed to use a technical argument on an extreme situation. I would have preferred that you had mentioned the suffering and pain was evil. That you had not done so might give the impression you are cold-hearted (I, personally don’t think it true). I do believe you don’t pay too much attention to what people think of you (which is ok), but I know I wouldn’t want to go through life with people thinking I’m a cold person. But, hey, that’s just me.

  102. PeteAtomic October 28, 2020 at 9:29 am #

I’m not a fan of binary thinking, e.g. ‘Trump is evil’ or ‘Biden is a communist’…

The trouble with Biden is that he is exactly what the US doesn’t need at the moment: a staid, incompetent, wholly underwhelming, life long politician who certainly will not be able to effectively manage entropic decline that the nation will continue to experience and only accelerate as streams of energy production become a bigger concern.

The Left wants to shut down fossil fuel production. This isn’t going to happen. In an odd way, the corrupt democrat party will continue to support Big Oil, if simply out of practical necessity. There just is no other real methods (as JHK often repeats) to fuel Disneyworld, Walmart & the movement of peoples across the US.

So, Biden will not turn the US communist, or anything like that. The democrats are fascists. They will do the bidding of multi-national corporations.

There will be some economic recovery under the first part of a Biden Presidency. I think the US will be waging at least one or more wars in the next 2 years with a Biden President. War can have the ability to give the US economy a little boost, especially to the democrat west coast, where a lot of US bomb makers live and work. Weapons manufacturing is one of the last industries in the US.

..however, entropic decline & the management of that decline, will prove too much particularly for Biden (or really anybody for that matter).

Another part of an economic upturn will be government largesse & payoffs to racial & classes that supported Biden. More welfare/social service programs. Government contracts to particular unions, etc.

That’s how the sausage is made in the US!

    • JohnAZ October 28, 2020 at 10:29 am #

Trump understands that economic stimulus, via tax cuts and regulation reduction plus military (fiscal) spending is required to make a positive impact on the business faith in the US. If the positive impetus is not present, corporations will go where it is positive, ie China.

That is why Biden is totally dangerous to the health of the US, not just Biden, but the whole rotten nest of Leftists.

Why? The buy there votes from the have-nots by favoring gimme programs. Those are programs where the government steals from the economic engines to give capital to the gimme folks. The effect? More and more gimme folks and corporations moving offshore.

That is a description of what Obama did to prolong the Recession, more taxes, punish the corporations, regulate everything, centralize power. It is what stimulated Trump to run, and why he won.

It maybe why he may win again as more and more folks realize what Biden means. The gimmes have probably already voted, the easy way, and there should be a drift right during the next week.

BTW, Google reports that the number one inquiry is “How do I change my early vote?” As the early vote was slanted to the Left, the Dems should worry a tad about that. The polls are narrowing everywhere.

      • messianicdruid October 28, 2020 at 1:34 pm #

“More and more gimme folks and corporations moving offshore.”

You conveniently forget the corporate welfare that the government hands out, such as the 500 billion for big business in the Covid stimulus package, or the 20 billion a year for oil and gas companies.

        • JohnAZ October 28, 2020 at 10:24 pm #

          Interesting comment.

You want to tax the corporations even more to have more capital for the gimme sect. Then you give the same corporations subsidies.

Don’t you get it? The government, “Deep State”, exerts power over the corporation by holding out the money carrot in front of them. You are a sucker if you think the Dems wanting to tax the corporations more is benevolent. They are figuring out ways to tax us more, hiding behind “rich man” taxes, to exert their power everywhere. The Deep State is the enemy of the American people.

          • JohnAZ October 28, 2020 at 10:28 pm #

What if subsidies were stopped? Then tax those corporations more. Then cry when your job is moved to China, or Malaysia, or India, or even Mexico.

No wonder you were so happy with Obama.

    • SoftStarLight October 28, 2020 at 11:29 am #

I found this definition of Fascism from Merriam-Webster:

a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

So the Democrats are not Fascists at all as they are fully onboard with the whole idea of a one world global government and open borders. You can look up the definition of Communism and you’ll find the DNC there.

      • Yohannon October 28, 2020 at 1:10 pm #

      • PeteAtomic October 29, 2020 at 8:35 am #

I was using Mussolini’s definition of fascism as government run as a corporate entity.

If you examine why democrats want unrestrained immigration, it is for the benefits of large agri-business. A large pool of unskilled people allows large industries a large pool of cheap labor.

I’m not sure if the democrats agree with one world global government. They certainly use government as an extension of corporate power/interests throughout the world. I don’t think they would ever want to lose their monopoly on power. The US is involved in places like the Middle East, as one easily understood example, largely because of Big Energy business interest.

“above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition”

I think we are headed in those directions. Authoritarian regimes like China’s use technology to control their population. We appear to be headed the same way. The Deep State is very real. The security state is real. The last 4 years have also shown us that we have a State Media.

The type of republic that the founders of our country had imagined & created is long dead. The citizen farmer/small mercantilist who was both active on his property & in the public sphere, is long gone. The US is largely divided between a highly insulated elite on one hand, and a larger & larger percent of the population constitutes a roiling underclass. The middle class is disappearing. We now have something much closer to France in 1789, then Philadelphia in 1776.

        • SoftStarLight October 29, 2020 at 12:56 pm #

That makes sense. And to be clear too there were many Republicans who were very much on board with the Democrats in there efforts all along the way from what I can tell. But I agree with your points.

    “That’s Russian Disinformation.”

What do you think of King Leopold’s ability to masquerade his venal, rapacious exploitation of black labor to harvest rubber in the Congo (to feed the rubber boom inaugurated by Dunlop’s invention of the inflatable tire) behind a facade of Christian-inspired humanity, civilization, and philanthropy? Sixty-five year old Belgian King Leopold used to wake up every morning to ride his big tricycle around the palace grounds before riding over to screw his 16 year old voluptuous, big-titted, French mistress who’d boss him around and pussy-whip him. King Leopold was a pedophile who would frequent a pedophile brothel in London run to service European royalty. The Belgian people and the people of Europe thought that King Leopold was some Huge Humanitarian. I think that Bill Clinton used to fly around on Jeffrey Epstein’s Private jet, “The Lolita Express”, to do humanitarian work in Haiti and to help people suffering from AIDS in Africa for “The Clinton Foundation”.

This is not going to be popular.

I read a lot of Kesa Anna’s posts.

What is going to lift the Blacks in American society are the Blacks themselves. Allowing the Democratic Party use them since 1960s has been a major FU organized by Black leaders.

Waiting for the central authority to give you power is ludicrous. It is reminiscent of slavery itself, “Massah, Massah, please provide for me. Gimme stuff.

Politically and socially, Blacks need to grow up! Become independent, tell the MARXISTS TO FO, grow your future. Join in with American traditionalists to build your communities, quit listening to Dem lackeys, and quit looking towards the Leftist Massahs that want to keep you in your place.

Every ethnic group has had to fight for their position in this country, it has been their responsibility to make their place in society. Blacks are no different. Dependence on the federal tit has been the Blacks downfall, never their salvation. Dependence on the Black “leaders” that bow down to their White Dem Massahs is definitely a mistake.

I know this has little meaning being written by a White guy. Consider though that I think that Black self help organization candidates such as BLM, the urban gangs, and even the MLK era of the NAACP Are the ways Blacks will progress and get their share of the American pie. Quit thinking of yourselves as second class citizens. There are enough very successful Blacks out there promoting American values to point the way to success.

One more, quit grooming your kids to be athletes only. Not enough demand, but it limits the ambition of their dreams. They need to be doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, not just BB or football players.

During my entire life, the dialogue has always been Dems vs. Repubs. Life has changed so much, but the dialogue hasn’t at all. Now we are faced with issues that we haven’t had before (North America): Surging population, strains on our resources and destruction of the Yuesday, etc.environment.

So what have we been discussing? Mostly whether Biden is senile, how the Dems are devils, the Repubs are crooked, too, who’s going to win on Tuesday, etc. That’s ok, but after the election (which won’t be official until January at the earliest) we ought to start talking about the poisoning of our oceans, the depletion of our soil, dealing with supply chains, self-defense and myriad other real-world situations that we’ll have to work on ASAP. Otherwise these problems will work on us, and in a very destructive manner.

As I’ve said many times before – and I don’t want to be a nudge – but it won’t make a difference who ends up running the government, so I’m not voting, as is my right. Start thinking seriously about how you are going to get through the winter.

In Italy some of the Police took off their uniforms and joined in the battle against their former brothers, Covidian Goons who were stomping people. We must rise up against the Lockdown or all is lost.

Ah, the air is cleaner, food tastes better and there is an overall lighter feeling to the infested air as we prepare to remove the great Orange Carbuncle from the White House six days from now.

There are some who think we may have to fumigate him and his noisome Klown Kar ninnies from 1600 but I don’t think so – at his core he is a silly coward and will go without much ado.

    • Yohannon October 28, 2020 at 2:48 pm #

Oh Pam! Not this again. You prefer the Biden grifter groper, owned by the Chinese? That’s not very smart….

    • hmuller October 29, 2020 at 5:21 pm #

Pam, as long as the pandemic no eviction laws are extended, Trump lawyers can argue The Big Guy stays in the White House, no matter who wins Tuesday! Contemplate that loophole.

      • hmuller October 29, 2020 at 6:14 pm #

Ok, so maybe Trump can’t act as President after noon January 20th. But Donald, Melania, Baron, and all the rest can cling to the White House family quarters like heavily armed white trash in a rented trailer.

The Bidens will just have to bunk with “the help”. They’ve always claimed to feel more comfortable around people of color. A cot behind the kitchen stove will be good for Jill Biden. Joe won’t know where he is anyway.

Kamala, impersonating a large, cheerful domestic will secretly spy on the Trumps, perhaps sabotaging them with bed bugs and other dirty tricks only a lifelong Democratic politician would know.

Bill Cosby (out on parole) will appear as a blind waiter, serving jello and advice to both families.

We have the outline of a SitCom here. I’ll call it “Upstairs, Downstairs, Get the Fuck Out of My House!”.

Kamala, impersonating a ‘large,’ cheerful domestic – hmuller

          =========

I guess by large you mean ‘fat’ because she is a shade under 5’2″ tall. Not large in a height sense. This is based on conversion of 1.57 meters I got from Google.

          • hmuller October 30, 2020 at 1:28 am #

I was thinking of Kamala as a full bodied “Hattie McDaniel character” complete with the Aunt Jemima cap and a lot of attitude. Does that make me racist?

How about we cast Nancy Pelosi as a Butterfly McQueen persona?

“Oh please, Mr President. I don’t nothing about birthing bills.”

To read about how humanoid apes destroy Phila (first Capital of the US btw) you have to read British “Sun”.Or probably “National Geographic”

Spreading to New York and Los Angeles. All because a Black attacking a cop with a knife got shot. Pretty thin pretext. Why do they need any at all at this point? If you give them the right to loot, they’ll take it. And if you give them the right to attack and kill cops, they’ll take it. Or anybody they don’t like, be it Black individuals or other races in general.

        Gentlemen;

Do a smell a whiff of sarcasm in your comments ?
If you ever read a history of Communist Russia or at least “1984” you should know that the thought crime is the most dangerous of all crimes.

In Communist Russia domestic murder was punished with 2 years.
While an innocent joke about Stalin was rewarded with 25 years.

        Please try to look woke.
And take knee on a regular basis !

THE FAST WIND UP AT THE CONSERVATIVE COVID CORRAL

I don’t know what’s going to happen come November. I’m no oracle or soothsayer that can peer into the future. I can often see the past clearly enough, but the future is blocked by something called time’s arrow, and it’s not infrequently that I’m stuck by it when I arrive there.

I do know that the inscrutable, inventive Chinese sent us a vicious, voracious virus to tame the American herd, to put the reins on our economy and the bridle tightly into our teeth. It all seemed to happen rather quickly, and just when things were going so well.

It was the conservative herd who, for the most part, did not respond well to the virus, not wanting to be corralled, but wanting to continue roaming the range of laissez-faire and the plains of personal pursuits and pleasures.

One stallion in particular bucked and heaved, kicked and brayed at this encumbrance like some wild, untamable ladino, and led his herd into the harrowing highlands of hubris and hyperbole.

Will they be rounded up in November, penned and imprisoned, branded, even gelded, tamed by the nefarious nags of progressivism? Who knows.

My horse sense tells me that there’s a good chance it could happen, that this wild ladino had his time, that he’s now certainly no longer a firm favorite in this race for the greatest of stakes.

I’m going to saddle up anyway, sheath my Winchester ’73, and ride out into the wild country, join some ‘Wild Bunch’.

” Not even worth any further response except for …. ”

Not even worth any further response because Abraham Lincoln could write pretty stuff , and so could Whitman.

    Rings a bell.

Hitler was every inch the equal of Reagan when it came to showmanship , and giving a speech.

He certainly was not at all bullshitting when he said that he was first and always an artist.

The Horst Wessel Lied was a really great song.

Nobody ever came up with a better logo than the swastika , and the really neat and surprising part was that it wasn’t even an original creation , but a second – hand borrowing of some old shit.

    All this presumably proves something.

A guy was a great guy because he could write pretty.

    It doesn’t.

    • tucsonspur October 28, 2020 at 6:18 pm #

Horst Wessel was a weasel and a pimp, turned into a martyr.

For those who don’t know, lied is German for song.

      • KesaAnna October 28, 2020 at 6:59 pm #

Yes , and when people complain about special interest lobbies and greedy , two – faced lawyers , they are complaining about Abraham Lincoln.

As I recall, he was the richest , or second – richest , railroad lawyer / hatchet man in Illinois.

No doubt he was indeed once plain folks , but that was long past.

        • tucsonspur October 28, 2020 at 7:35 pm #

Yet he was called ‘honest Abe’. Can you cite some examples of his being greedy and two-faced? Being a hatchet man?

  113. KesaAnna October 28, 2020 at 4:53 pm #

” This is not going to be popular.

I , for one , agree with everything you just wrote.

    Except ,

I wish white people would apply the same sober and unsparing critique to themselves.

At least 75% of the news devoted to the doings of the Nabobs in far off Washington ?

What the hell is that but the , ” A great leader is going to save us ! ” – mentality of serfs ?

Supposedly you threw out an absolute monarch 200 years ago ( except George III was by no stretch of the imagination an absolute monarch , Already the King of England was Parliaments bitch ,

and by no stretch of the imagination was ” Farmer George ” the tyrannical type. )

But people who believe there is a class of people whose shit smells sweeter than the ordinary kind are thick as flies , and believe in the divine right of kings ( under other names ) to a degree and with a sincerity that was never true of actual monarchists.

Today , no less than 500 years ago , it’s a good bet that most of the people who plant , maintain , and then harvest the food you eat , without which you would starve to death in short order , are so esteemed and well – regarded that it is not seen fit to pay them a wage that adequately pays their grocery bill.

” One more, quit grooming your kids to be athletes only. ”

Since you mentioned it , if a 12 – year – old is really deprived , how exactly do they go about affording the shoes , the balls , not to mention the ten hours a day of practice necessary to attain that level of performance ?

Don’t genuine working class kids have diapers to change , laundry to do , tomatoes to pick , and all that work to be done gratis ?

We must live on different planets is the explanation I suppose ?

As far as astronauts , physicians , and judges go , I wish I had even just a penny for every time that story began with ,

    ” I studied hard , went to college , worked hard , and …. ”

    Wait a minute ….

I can’t remember the last time I saw a 12 year old working a job that paid anything , even the most minimum of minimum wages .

So , how exactly did our self – made 12 – year old subsidize the process of qualifying for college to begin with , never mind the rest of the story ?

For that matter , what 12 year old has the authority to say , ” I’m going to do this or that for my benefit , to look out for number one , and all you adults with your needs , wants , and schemes can go jump in a lake ! ” ?

What strikes me as a thousand times more grossly mendacious than an atheist claiming , ” You owe me , because Jesus said so ! ”

Are these spoiled brats with their child – worshiping , grossly indulgent parents claiming they were self – made , and did it all on their own dime.

” One more, quit grooming your kids to be athletes only. ”

I would prefer it if you quit grooming your kids to lust after titles of nobility , and to respect only titles of nobility.

    • JohnAZ October 28, 2020 at 10:14 pm #

      Like your response.

You are right. There are folks of every type who need to work their way into society on their own to succeed. I am spotlighting Blacks mainly because they seem to want nothing to do with common culture when working into that society is what is going to pull them up by their own bootstraps.

Others not assimilating are Muslims, as they use CAIR to make themselves exclusive. Is there a possibility that the Black Muslims are a sect in the Black community that is pitching disunion?

It boils down to we are supposed to be a country here. Our citizen oath requirement says that folks renounce their former country and swear allegiance to the US. When everyone wants to go their own separate way, how can you call that a country.

And the Dems encourage this division, it is why if they get in control, the UNITED States is history.

Also, athletes. All groups are much more than just one thing. Part of being in a family is the recognition of your talents and the pursuit there of. Whites who think that Blacks are inferior need to have lunch with Clarence Thomas, or Ben Carson, or Candace Owens, or Barack Obama, or Martin Luther King,

Elyslainfield: Correct identification. I usually vary turn left/right for each hand and have a teammate change target orientation to my probable shooting point each iteration. I say probable in that I walk away at an angle to the targets ( I know general placement) and upon command turn and engage. For what it’s worth,( my song), I am a wheel gunner ONLY.
JohnAZ: Totally agree. You elucidated it much more concisely than I. Arigatou gozaimasu.

The trump administration today claimed the end of the corona-virus epidemic as one of its signal accomplishments.

These criminals have no shame whatsoever – as well as no awareness of what is really going on. Try to imagine FDR in 1943 declaring WWII to be over simply because it had outstretched his attention span.

Meanwhile over 40% of the obviously addled American public wants to hand this atrocious man another 4 years. Imagine that.
