jenner

This shoot was about my life and who I am as a person. It’s not about the fanfare….”

— Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner

It was, perhaps, only coincidental that the shy, elderly, Olympic decathlon champion and Wheaties box icon ended up on the cover of America’s glossiest glossy magazine attended by a squadron of make-up artists, costumers, publicists, drapers, lighting designers, endocrinologists, agents, and managers under the direction of supreme photographic commander Annie Liebowitz. And, perhaps, another coincidence that the E! Network is producing an eight-part reality show (“docu-series”) on the journey of America’s new transgender sweetheart from sweaty, hairy, testosterone-jacked athlete to air-brushed pin-up “girl.” I guess fanfare is sometimes just the unexpected cherry-on-top of life’s big creamy cake.

But doesn’t it all raise the question: why is it so important for the nation’s cultural stage managers to make the case that a life of sexual confusion is the highest-and-best way of being in this world? It’s everywhere. A day does not pass lately when The New York Times fails to run a front-page story about the triumph of transgender life. One easy theory might be that old chestnut about folks out on the “cutting edge” always needing a new way to épater le bourgeois, shock and horrify the middle class (into the recognition of their pathetic, mind-numbing dullness.) Maybe the middle class doesn’t have enough to think about with keeping a step ahead of the re-po man, or being billed $30,000 to give birth in a hospital, or working 70 hours a week.

The best explanation (not mine originally), may be that in a “liminal” moment of history, when great scary trends and events trigger society’s existential dread, all kinds of boundaries dissolve. And sex, being among the humanity’s most compelling drives, fraught with heavy cultural regulation, ends up being the means of expression for our collective anxiety over the dissolution of things. It also happens that America today is at once an exceptionally pornified society and an exceptionally puritanical one. Rome under Caligula did not have the internet, enabling 12-year-olds to spectate on every imaginable sex act. But neither did the witch-obsessed settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony have the equivalent of the young woman (Emma Sulkowicz by name) who idiotically lugged a mattress around the Columbia University campus as a combination political protest / senior art project to draw attention to her dubious rape case (which was dismissed by Columbia’s own administrative kangaroo court).

The tension between these forces of extreme prurience and extreme Puritanism must be immense, probably intolerable, especially for the young who, even in the most settled times, are beset by insecurity over their sexual development — of how to grow into a man or a woman in the world. It’s also interesting that we want to talk about “sexuality” all the time — if media chatter can be taken for public “conversation” — but only in highly circumscribed ways. Overstep the conventional thinking du jour, and you invite a tsunami of censorious opprobrium… which I will now proceed to do.

For instance, I would propose the theory that homosexuality is lately promoted as a desirable way of being in the world because it allows those who behave that way to avoid and escape a primary source of tension in human life: the difficult relations between men and women. These tensions inevitably fluoresce in adolescence, and so now the choice is offered to opt out. I’d expect gay opinion to argue that opting into that way of being in the world actually generates greater tensions and torments, and that may indeed be so — but it is often the case with avoidance behavior that it invites unhappy complications.

I would also propose that the Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner spectacle represents “peak transgender.” Now that the culture stage managers have made the point that the paragon of maleness — a ten-sport Olympic champion — can opt late in life to become a simulacrum of femaleness (with strange overtones of sexual availability, but to whom, or to what?), there’s nowhere further to go… we finally come to the actual long-sought edge of the cutting edge and drop off into an abyss.

Or maybe this is all just the result of life’s supreme test: keeping up with the Kardashians. After all those years of slip-sliding in Clinique Anti-blemish solution and L’Oreal True Match, poor Bruce just caved, surrendered, resorted to the tactic that could tempt even the most driven competitor: if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

All right, now I will step aside and endure all the punishment I have invited for venturing to have some opinions on these matters.

Spot on….Who cares about the bashers..enough of all this nonsense and perversion…next thing we will have to hear about is Brucey”s new tattoo…When did the freak shows become the center of media attention?

    • Being There June 8, 2015 at 10:14 am #

Freak shows were always an attraction even in the media.
      Sadly that’s human nature.

      • dfnslblty June 8, 2015 at 2:18 pm #

Wrong, time was when newspapers and teevee did not rely on “freak shows.”
Plus, “freak” is not freak anymore – usa has become so jaded that any one /any thing not ivyleague/mallwart is freak.
Excellent essay in his atypical manner- keep writing Mr Kunstler!

        • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 6:19 pm #

Yes. As the Mutants on Dr Who said, “You know the Law: all Norms must die.”

      • GutenbergGuy June 8, 2015 at 7:41 pm #

Thank you. I was going to say that a substantial portion of the straight community hasn’t got a clue how to deal with anything outside their very narrow world view. People are fascinated with this stuff and they are so ignorant they don’t know the difference between a homosexual and a transgender.

As a result the Queer tent just gets bigger and bigger.

And it is very strange to see that the media’s addiction to spectacle and sleaze actually merits the attention of a supposedly intelligent author and blogger. AND that that author is all too willing to insult other human beings. Nice world view JHK!

I will match the heterosexual freak show against anything Mr. Kunstler cares to cite in his tip of the hat to the MSM he tells us is the enemy.

        This is ridiculous.

Too much prejudice and outright bigotry at this site ever since Ferguson.

        Goodbye.

Many Gays don’t like other Gays, so they hit on Straight Men. And being old is like being a criminal I hear. Everything is youth oriented. So put the two together and you get the Vampiric obsession with the young – they must be turned. This is how Gays reproduce.

          • LisaM July 1, 2015 at 8:29 pm #

Homophobic as well as transphobic Jason.

No one ‘turns’ someone gay, they either are or are not.

Too bad I feel compelled to pile on old Gut with disapprobation, but his/her/its presence here has been an annoyance and a hindrance to cogent discussion. Further, a comment by Gut has been almost uniformly a snare and a delusion, to use debaters’ jargon.

I just don’t get how a person or entity–or whatever it is–that identifies with the father of mass literacy (Gutenberg) could say that teaching correct English to blacks amounts to bigotry. Yet Gut did just that a few weeks ago. Amazing.

          Bye, bye Gut.

          • sprawlcapital June 9, 2015 at 12:03 pm #

I am pronouncing Gut not like the German word for good, which rhymes with loot, but rather like the three-letter English word for intestine–gut–which rhymes with nut.

            All perfectly clear, I hope.

            Again, bye, bye Gut.

Our freak shows became the main attraction when attention to self became the supreme focus of our culture.

We see it in our politics, the way our homes are built & decorated, where we live, our dominant form of transportation, how we save for the future (401k vs. the defined pension), consumer technology and on and on.

America has become an “I” nation. We aren’t “We the people” anymore. We’ve become “I” the people. Look at me! And “fuck you!”

It’s all about me and I could care less about you.

We weren’t always like this. But the last 40 years have been one long plunge into epic self absorption.

Yes Dick adores his Lesbian daughter who is “married” to another woman. He becomes enraged if anyone questions this bizarre situation. Did Dick queer his daughter somehow? What girl would want a man after growing up looking at that face.

Its probably best if everyone just ignored all of this though JHK did have some good points.

    • Neon Vincent June 8, 2015 at 10:16 am #

“Its probably best if everyone just ignored all of this…”

I did ignore all of this last week. I didn’t even look at the movie box office Sunday. So much for culture.

Instead, I concentrated on cyber-warfare, especially by China (allegedly) on the US government but also ISIS AKA The Sith Jihad’s misadventures in social media, including efforts to recruit disaffected American youth online. Peak Oil and financial crisis will eventually cause technological change to stumble, but until then progress marches on, with all of the risks as well as benefits. Some media stories are just entertaining sideshows. Others are actual dangers. I think I wrote about the latter.

      • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 1:20 am #

Ignore is the root of ignorance. And yes, you are good at not looking at things you don’t want to see, whether as a conscious or unconscious strategy.

    • Peter June 8, 2015 at 8:47 pm #

I’ve been trying to ignore it, but the media is hyping it up so much it’s tough to escape. I keep asking myself “why, who cares?”

  3. Being There June 8, 2015 at 9:37 am #

    Good post JKH

This isn’t really all that new. I was at a beach house years ago where unbeknownst to us, one of our young “women” was in fact a transgender woman. Complete and pretty as all get-out. She truly looked as though she was meant to be a woman.
The biggest hint that something was very wrong was her reaction to the way men reacted to her. She was dressed to kill and yet seemed very ruffled by the way guys were looking at her. Anyone inhabiting a female body for life would be expecting that kind of reaction, so I thought what’s wrong with her?

Anyways, I hurt my back mid summer and didn’t go out for the last month. I found out through my friends that in fact she had been found out because some of her friends she brought out to the beach were in fact only part-way there….
Needless to say, when it came to getting into exclusive nightclubs in NYC later on that year, it was reported by a friend that she got in and the real woman…….not so much.

Just thought I’d share. That was 1983.

  4. Paulo June 8, 2015 at 9:40 am #

I totally agree with your article this week and respect your opinion. Why this pathetic Jenner story is ‘lionozed’ and declared ‘brave’ is beyond imagination.

The society is sick. It has lost its way. There are few values on public display and many are now confused about what is right and wrong. Actually, the public display of values seem to have been shams for many years if my memory of defrocked evangelists serves me right? And a House Speaker has now been exposed for boinking kids and paying hush money.

I will continue to hunker down and am pleased with my children’s work ethic and how they treat others. They are now in their thirties, and I don’t think are considering any gender mods, thankfully.

As I age I am finding a new mindset. I don’t give a rats ass about anyone elses sexuality. I have always enjoyed sex and sexuality, but prefer it if people keep it private. I don’t like public displays of sexuality….either blatant hetero ‘necking’ (sometimes more!!) or outrageous homosexual ‘acting out’. Keep rainbows where they belong, in the sky. Leave sex at home. Surgery is for fixing, not renovating.

  5. Smoky Joe June 8, 2015 at 9:41 am #

I could care less about Jenner’s choice. The one transgender person I know does not make a big deal about it. He became a she and does not pontificate. S/he’s a decent person and still faces a lot of discrimination (I asked).

It’s the spectacle around Jenner that I’m choosing to ignore. We have more important things to cope with, from how to best liquidate the lunatics of ISIS to the lunatic Right’s attack on environmental laws to the broken and lunatic nature of our politics.

But a T-girl on the cover of Vanity Fair is a safe subject. It’s an existential threat in a cozy way.

  6. Being There June 8, 2015 at 9:41 am #

One more thing addressed to progress4what:

You asked me about my discussion of the elite. It’s not a cabal, so much as how things work once things are set in motion. People don’t have to think exactly alike to glean the advantages that global society offers.

Here is a wonderful interview on the subject I listened to back last summer. I visit this site once a month called Smart Talk TV featuring the Henry George economic school. I’m not personally an adherent of this, but the thinking is anti-monopoly and I find all Andrew Mazzone’s interviews compelling.

    Introducing Dr. Clark.:
Professor of economics at the University of California-Davis and an editor of The European Review of Economic History, Dr. Gregory Clark is also a research associate at the Center for Poverty Research at Davis. Author of The Sun Also Rises: Surnames and History of Social Mobility—a book that the NY Times referred to as “incendiary”—Dr. Clark used surnames to “track the rich and poor through many generations” in many countries and on several continents.

In his eye-opening conversation on Smart Talk, Dr. Clark points out that social mobility has occurred but “at a very slow rate. It can take several centuries for it to occur.” In addition, he points out that “As much as 60% of the variation in social position in each generation is inherited.”

The author of A Farewell to Alms, A Brief Economic History of the Worldalso discusses the cultural and genetic roots of the Industrial Revolution, pointing out that after the Industrial Revolution, the success of nations was based on the quality of their productivity and their “efficient use of knowledge. … Factors such as capital and land became unimportant moving into the 20th century.” According to Dr. Clark, America has had higher income than other societies “because people work harder by putting in more hours.” This advantage has helped attract the most talented people from all over the globe. At the same time, “It entices people at the bottom end of society to migrate to America, which can cause a development of unequal societies.”

The answer to your question is discussed around 56 min. into the interview—but listen to the whole thing. Toward the end he discusses the high end immigration to the top at the expense of everyone else.….

When you have the time, I recommend all the interviews as they are all most interesting.

    • GutenbergGuy June 8, 2015 at 7:54 pm #

      I put i this way:

An ideology itself can constitute a conspiracy and the “program” its plan.

It is as you say – how things are done, or rather how those in power dictate they be done.

We need to get away from the thinking that a “conspiracy” involves people making plans in secret meetings.

E.g., the Bush Administration did not HAVE to plan 9/11. All they had to do is ignore the evidence George Tenet was giving them almost weekly and just sit there and let it happen.

Which is what I believe they did.

      • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 1:23 am #

Yes. Same with illegal immigration. Possibly the same with an ISIS camp right over the Mexican border. Don’t know but some say it’s there. We wont close the border until there is an unspeakable tragedy – as if tens of millions of hostile aliens sucking off us isn’t.

  7. Ishabaka June 8, 2015 at 9:44 am #

I thought it interesting that the media addressed two American’s non-mainstream sexuality quite differently last week:

Caitlyn Jenner – treated as the second coming of Christ.
Josh Duggar – treated as the second coming of Satan.

    • Being There June 8, 2015 at 10:06 am #

      Ishabaka

Dugger had incest with his sisters. That’s is a societal taboo for very good reasons. How do you compare the two?

Jenner has no victims. He’s his own worst victim. But looks to me to be a no-win situation, since he had such a crazy internal drama.

That said, I mentioned last week that the left are falling all over themselves to turn him into a “hero”. They want to present him with a medal.

The Right wingers are falling all over themselves to defend Duggar even when he does something heinous.

The point is that both sides are defending things for political reasons that they shouldn’t get involved with—but there they go.

      • malthuss June 8, 2015 at 11:59 am #

        ‘He’s his own worst victim’
Then why does the media celebrate ‘it’ [s/he]?

‘Caitlyn Jenner – treated as the second coming of Christ.
Josh Duggar – treated as the second coming of Satan.’ well said.

I am not into Reality TV – The Duggars are some huge Christian family?
The war on families [except when parents are homo or les]
and the continued war on Christians.

by people the media keeps in the spotlight, like,http://albionmyway.blogspot.com/2013/02/hypocrite-scum-tim-wise-and-michael.html

        • Being There June 8, 2015 at 12:39 pm #

Why don’t you know that incest is about forced sex on those who can’t defend themselves?

Is this country really so crazy it doesn’t understand what a crime is anymore? We can’t agree on even the most basic taboos anymore, what a shame.

I repeat neither the left of right should be defending their pet aberrants.

          • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 2:25 pm #

He touched them thru their clothes while they were sleeping – a far cry from what Lena Denham did to her little sister yet you people adore her. The abused sisters are horrified at the destruction of their brother over this. They don’t feel like they’ve been raped – anymore than many of the women in the mail in survey that established the one in four faux rape statistic on college campuses.

      • outsider June 8, 2015 at 7:07 pm #

Unless his sisters are lying, Josh only groped them. Terrible thing to do, but not exactly incest.

    • kansas ham on wry June 8, 2015 at 10:32 am #

Sorry, but molesting your sisters isn’t normative behavior. And the family’s previous (and current) attempts to soft-pedal the act demonstrate a fundamental disconnect between the principles they profess and what happens when the cameras are not rolling. Are the Duggars toast? It all depends on if the advertisers jump ship. For as we all know, in the vast cultural wasteland the issue isn’t how bad the act was, but whether or not you can still make a buck off it.

    • Dave in Pasadena June 8, 2015 at 6:24 pm #

Caitlyn Jenner isn’t being treated as the second coming of Christ. The preoccupation of the media, including our host, is simply the media’s cheap titillation and sensationalism for the rubes and our host’s exercising his right to be a scold about something that is of no consequence to him.

“I would propose the theory that homosexuality is lately promoted as a desirable way of being in the world because it allows those who behave that way to avoid and escape a primary source of tension in human life: the difficult relations between men and women. These tensions inevitably fluoresce in adolescence, and so now the choice is offered to opt out.”

Mr. Kunstler, would you let all of us know when you “opted” to be straight? Nobody chooses a lifetime of ridicule and hatred from self-righteous hets. Nobody self-selects a life as a second-class citizen. Yet, “straight” males are so proud of being straight that they think it is some kind of accomplishment and feel it necessary to ridicule others. I suppose it makes straight males feel better than other people to express their misogyny and hatred of gays, which are simply two sides of the same coin. Of course, what is really going on is that men who are the least confident in their sexuality (and aren’t sure they really like women) become preoccupied with where other men put their dicks. Get over yourselves. You simply are not that special.

      • vengeur June 8, 2015 at 6:38 pm #

“Yet, “straight” males are so proud of being straight…”. Actually, I’m off to be in a “Straight Pride Parade” , so I don’t have time to comment on your hatin’ on straight men..

        • Dave in Pasadena June 8, 2015 at 7:21 pm #

Sorry, Vengeur, you may accuse me of “hatin’ on straight men,” but I didn’t say I hate straight men, I just criticize their and our host’s desire to belittle others for no real reason other than to massage their own egos. So, go have fun with your boyfriends at the Straight Pride Parade, which I suppose would be a football game or a baseball game which just proves we have invented elaborate rituals so that men can touch each other. (Hat tip to Barbara Kruger.)

          • vengeur June 9, 2015 at 12:10 am #

LOL. You can’t help yourself. Just gotta hate on those straight men and make snide remarks impugning their masculinity.

      • GutenbergGuy June 8, 2015 at 8:04 pm #

Dave, see how vengeur made you the bad guy?

And thank you. I have been very dismayed by our host’s forays into racist and homophobic slurs. His bit on Standard English was just not what I expect from a word smith. I expect greater understanding of language than that.

I wonder if he really thinks Queers “avoid and escape a primary source of tension in human life: the difficult relations between men and women.”

All intimate human relations of any value are difficult. And I very much expect a novelist to know that. After all, writers since at least Jane Austen have been exploring the consequences of that unfortunate fact of human life.

One last word on”Standard English” – well three words:

        We be fucked!

Not standard but I think you understood it..

  8. newworld June 8, 2015 at 9:46 am #

Late 70s in my little flyover hick town we had a Robert become a Roberta, life went on for the rest of us. Of course we also had Denny Hastert in our area so innocence was certainly lost before we knew it.

Concern trolling to follow: The narrative about “diversity” is merely exposing said diversity to be IMO provincial. All of the propaganda you fine progressives swallow is so bad that it makes “Field & Stream” look worldly. I would have admitted that us stale pale males of the “common enemy” were destined to be main actors in the new Idiocracy but you folks are even beating us in that race.

    • GutenbergGuy June 8, 2015 at 8:13 pm #

I’ll say this as a gay male: Male heterosexuals have taken a bad rap ever since the “feelings” and “sensitivity” crowd took over.

And yes, the obsession with “diversity” eventually makes us forget that we’re are all human beings. I myself would be very happy if men could just be discussed as men – admitting that this now covers a lot of ground.

And it obviously alienates anyone to see others focus on their own group – especially to the exclusion of everyone else.

And we end up with more mindless stereotypes – just a repeat of this group has more good traits than the rest of “us.” Which is where the whole thing started.

      Shampoo, rinse, repeat. That’s America.

And as RobH says below, the media is the problem.

  9. RobH June 8, 2015 at 9:47 am #

The problem is mostly the Media. James must know, being a media bod. No heterosexual boy would decide to be gay for an easy life. That’s madness. It’s good a homosexual boy doesn’t have to marry and have a miserable life now

It’s not good to have freak show TV, but it is good that people can be in a world where they can get on with their life with slightly less oppression

So maybe TV has helped over the years, but perhaps the Media need a new idea now
Hey, program about the enviroment anyone? Oil? Banking?

Okay, lets just have the transgender show then – much easier 🙂

Yes Bisexuals leans towards Homosexuality. Why? Because it’s easier in terms of sex and relationships. And now with the demonization of heterosexual men it’s becoming easier socially as well. Some pick up artists even pretend to be gay to get women….

      • Cassandra June 8, 2015 at 6:08 pm #

The theory that some choose a gay life because it’s easier than heterosexual monogamy is rather cynical, and of course not verifiable.

The most interesting and fabulously un-PC theory of homosexuality that I have read has been forth informally by the evolutionary biologist Gregory Cochran on his blog. Basically, the idea is that there is no way that homosexuality can be genetic, because any genetic mutation that harmed reproductive success would quickly be bred out of the population. Homosexuality defies evolutionary biology. Unless you are a bacteria that causes humans to be gay. Thus Cochran theorizes that homosexuality is caused by a “gay germ.” He’s got a lot of compelling evidence: homosexuality doesn’t happen in small hunter gatherer societies, suggesting that, as is the case for many diseases, there has to be a critical population mass for the pathogen to survive. There is discordancy in identical twins, meaning that you have two genetically identical individuals, but one is gay and one is straight. And so forth. The HBD blogger Jayman has a good summary of Cochran’s “gay germ” hypothesis here: https://jaymans.wordpress.com/2014/02/26/greg-cochrans-gay-germ-hypothesis-an-exercise-in-the-power-of-germs/

Yes, perhaps a “death” gene becomes activated. Look at rat colonies: when their population becomes abnormally high, instead of pair couples, you get harems, alpha males, gangs of unmated young males, homosexuality, beta bachelors who only dare to sneak out when everyone is asleep and so on.

One internet pundit says the Neanderthal was/is the natural man. Homo Sapiens is an artificial creation of the “Melon Heads” (the giant brained Aristocrats of ancient times, their huge skulls can be seen on friezes and found in museums until the Smithsonian steals them), a slave race essentially, programmed to socially self destruct every 10 generations or so. The story is told in allegorical from in Gilgamesh.

“Extremely cynical” was the way one European pundit explained away the idea that African immigrants are coming to Europe to get the goodies being given away. Hope you have gotten around to Raspail’s “Camp of the Saints”.

          • Cassandra June 8, 2015 at 7:23 pm #

The motivations of the “boat people” are complex, but can probably be reduced to massive overpopulation in Africa and the massive naivety and generosity of Europeans.

I like the “gay germ” hypothesis because it is so simple, elegant, and potentially game-changing.

Do you think there will be any more gays if researchers discover the pathogen–and the cure–that causes homosexuality? How many heterosexual couples would choose to have a gay baby if the pregnant mother could prevent it simply by taking an antibiotic?

Haven’t gotten to “Camp of the Saints” yet but it’s on the list!

          You un-PC theory is crap!

The fact homosexuality persists is evidence that it iS genetic otherwise for the reasons you cite it would have evolved into extinction.

When hunter/gatherer man lived in small groups men were fully occupied with hunting gathering, supporting families. A social group with a man who was not attracted to women was a benefit to the group as a whole (and valued) because they had more time to develop the craft/skills that enhanced that group’s chances for survival, thus also enhancing the prospects of the gene pool that produced such types of individuals.

Today we find that tendency for artisanship also preserved in the genetic result.

This is a quick snapshot summary of the matter, do your own research.

          • elysianfield June 9, 2015 at 1:45 pm #

“The fact homosexuality persists is evidence that it iS genetic otherwise for the reasons you cite it would have evolved into extinction”

            Permit me a syllogism,

If Homosexuality is genetic, natural selection would have removed it from the gene pool

If Homosexuality is not genetic, then it is a result of external influences

            I KNOW Homosexuality exists,

Therefor Homosexuality is the result of external influences.

            It’s that Boolean Algebra thang….

          • cromulentarian June 9, 2015 at 4:57 pm #

I was thinking along the same lines, EvelynV. It is not too difficult to come up with hypotheses that both would support the idea that homosexuality is genetically based trait AND not one subject to culling from the gene pool. If it is genetically based or heavily influenced by genetics, there may be social benefits such as the ones that you indicated that promoted families/tribes that carried the genes. Perhaps the genes are recessive or require some sort of epigenetic trigger for the behavior to manifest so it is only expressed in a minority.

On a related note this research is interesting vis-a-vis the nature (over nurture) argument: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternal_birth_order_and_male_sexual_orientation

But this is just off the top of my head. Perhaps I will find the time later to craft a glib syllogism with my Boolean Algebra numchucks.

          • EvelynV June 10, 2015 at 2:12 am #

            elysianfield,

Permission denied. Your first premise totally sucks indicating that just the fact you can spell syllogism is you exceeding what is otherwise suggested about your perspicacity.

You have a bogus conclusion embedded in what you apparently think is a premise.

Natural selection would NOT remove if from the gene pool. Just the opposite.

To recap the conclusions reached by anthropologists on the matter as I explained in my post and you obviously failed to comprehend…

Having tribal/clan members improved thats entitie’s chances of survival because it meant have members not tethered to providing for a spouse and children thus able to develop higher skills useful to the group (e.g. finer arrow, better tools, weapons etc.)

Your pathetic display of ignorance isn’t even an example of Boolean Algebra.

          • elysianfield June 11, 2015 at 8:38 pm #

            Evelyn,
I did not fail to comprehend…I failed to accept your premise. The premise of Cochran’s can be debated, as the Homosexual Craftsman you site, no matter how useful to the tribe (or coven) or whatever you envision, would not pass those genes on to a future offspring. How does enhancing the gene pool of heterosexual males of the tribe promote the homosexual gene?

Your logic is weak and convoluted…sorry. I would never resort to an ad-hominem attack, such as your invective.

How will a finer weapon or better tools help in getting the homosexuals genes into the gene pool? Hot 3-ways with the alpha-male and his harem? Inquiring minds REALLY need to know….

          • EvelynV June 13, 2015 at 1:14 am #

The second faulty assumption is that the only possible advantage of homosexuality would be population control.

There is, as it turns out, more than one way to skin a cat. That is to say, there are more ways to assure the survivability of your children than mating with the right man. Let’s look at two families, one with no homosexual members, and one with a homosexual member.

In the first family all the siblings are heterosexual. There are five siblings. They each have a spouse. They each have children of their own. Let’s presume there is the historical gender based division of labor in this family. The men hunt. The women gather and rear the children. So, one day the men go hunting boar. The five men go hunting and they each bring back one boar. The women each bring back a basket of berries and fruit. This is a successful day. All the men and women and all the children should be able to eat.

But what if it is a bad day hunting and gathering. What if the men only catch four boars and the women only collect four baskets of fruit and berries? Well, now they have to make four families worth of stretch through five families (the Republican solution is “he who does not catch a boar has to go hungry — as well as his children.” But that’s for another debate).

So, as you see, in the all-heterosexual family, on sparse days, there is less to eat. If this happens enough, survivability of the family is reduced.

But what if there was a gay person in the family?

Then four siblings would have four spouses and four sets of children. The gay brother would have no children. On days when each male brought back a boar, because the gay brother has no children — there would be an excess of meat. This meat could be turned to jerky and saved for a lean day. In this scenario, having a gay brother would increase the survivability of the family and the children. The family unit is, thus, strengthened due to the presence of a gay brother.

This also aids the gay brother. Since his siblings each share 50% of his genes, as he aids his family, his siblings can have more children, thus increasing the likelihood that his genetic material survives into the next generation.

Therefore, under these circumstances gay people don’t necessarily aid to control the population. In fact, their presence in the family could free his siblings to reproduce even more.

When I was a kid, homosexuals existed as they do now. But nobody talked about them. They were smart enough to stay away from jobs unsuited to their sexual persuasion like Boy Scout Leaders or High School Gym Instructors or Penn State Football Coach. A lot of them became priests I guess. I mean what’s next, hermaphrodite? It is really quite ludicrous. Who cares? Didn’t Gore Vidal say something like asking someone whether he is homosexual should be like asking him his nationality. Yes it’s indicative of the utter cluelessness of America, but are we not aware of this?

  11. orbit7er June 8, 2015 at 9:49 am #

While I support people’s rights to express their sexuality however they wish so long as no others are harmed, I have always considered gay rights as a distraction from the real issues of War, limited resources, Climate Change and how people can best share their resources to survive Peak Oil and Climate Change. It is the elite’s interest to distract attention from the real issues of class warfare and their commandeering of the State’s resources for endless Wars, subsidized stadiums for sports distractions and all of their exploitation of man and nature. This is also part of the Left’s wayward path also away from class politics into “identity” politics. As Jesse Jackson pointed out years ago, if we focus on class which unites the 99% vs the 1% then a
natural outcome will be to help especially blacks and other minorities whose biggest problem is having a decent share of a decent life.
Do OJ Simpson and other now successful black’s children really need Affirmative Action? Affirmative Action should be primarily based on class which is the true barrier to a college education free of debt servitude for life to the banksters.

Rich people like Bruce/Caitlin Jenner and also many strikingly hypocritical Republican politicians (see Dennis Hastert) can be gay, transgendered or oppressed- see!

On the other hand, Kunstler is very perceptive about the taut tension in American’s approach to sex and sexuality between puritanism and pornography. The premier illustration of this is
the former FBI spymaster J Edgar Hoover, who famously spied on Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement with his racist proclivities and also of course persecuted homosexuality. Even as he himself had a black boyfriend…

A weird juxtaposition revealed in so many outed supposedly Conservative Republicans…

He/she has received more dubious attention for this Kardashian attachment which, I understand, is some sort of television phenomenon. Attention can be addictive.

Like Michael Jackson, Bruce/Caitlin is now a corporate entity backed by huge commercial resources bent upon turning a handsome profit on their investment. Whatever psychological and sociological implications can be found in all of this, we may be assured that Caitlin, Inc. will remain in the public eye as long as there is a dollar to be made and attention to be received.

First, the term “transgender” needs to be tossed from our lexicon. There is no such thing. If you feel like a man trapped in a woman’s body, that’s what you are and always will be. No amount of genital mutilation surgery and ingestion of hormones will change your DNA.

Second, the attention currently being showered on this circus spectacle is indicative of just how idiotic the American public is.

    • shabbaranks June 8, 2015 at 12:42 pm #

Great point. No amount of hormones and surgery will make Caitlyn Jenner be able to:

      1. Experience adolescence as a little girl;
      2. Go thru puberty as a girl;
      3. Have their period;
      4. Experience socialization as a young woman (dating, dances etc)
      5. Give birth;
      6. Fear being or actually being raped;
      7. Experience menopause

Bruce Jenner has lived as a man his entire life up to now and got all the benefits that go with a successful manhood.

      • Cassandra June 8, 2015 at 7:28 pm #

Jenner has no interest in being a woman like real women are women. This is why he didn’t transition into a grandmotherly Carol.

Jenner has apparently always had a fetish for an idealized female sexuality. That’s why he transitioned into a voluptuous, alluring 30-something-looking pinup.

        • pequiste June 9, 2015 at 12:33 am #

Jenner transitioned from male media whore to feminized, gender-dysphoriad , heterosexual (still desires females for sex) remaining- male (still has the equipment right?,) transvestited and hormone-therapied media whore.
How this role-playing is an occasion for a second apotheosis puzzles me as Jenner’s achievements as an Olympian already secured his position in history books and the media. Ah, right, a consumate, obsessive narcissist would like this sore of action.
On the bright side, Jenner will now be able to fulfill the ultimate dreams and destiny of the disgusting Kardashians and vile Jenner households by exclusively dating Negro males and having a fabulous walk- in closet with a shoe collection that Imelda Marcos would have envied.
Jenner actually represents the psychic status of good ol Uncle Sam himself – once great superman, feminized, emasculated, whining, preening and doing anything for attention and some more money.

It’s a sign of our times when Vanity Fair is doing stories that 20 years ago were the province of the National Enquirer. Maybe next month’s issue will feature alien abductions, a miracle weight loss diet, plus a psychic’s recent contact with Michael Jackson’s spirit.

Anything to keep the public distracted from asking dangerous questions, like about energy policy, Wall Street bailouts and the ever-growing ISIS crisis. As long as we have bread and circuses, it’s all good.

While teaching a course in “Intercultural Communication” I was intrigued by the work of Geert Hostede, “Cultural Dimensions Theory”, originally sponsored by IBM worldwide when they were experiencing severe human resources difficulties in various countries.

One of the key cultural contrasts is that of “uncertainty avoidance” vs. “uncertainty tolerance”. Highly-stratified (fossilized) cultures like that of Japan and Indonesia (where I live) cannot deal with suddenly ambiguous or unknown parameters of behavior or physical circumstances.

This is not of such import when you are herding your water buffalo and one of the sultan’s men pops up and barks at you, but when you have simultaneous hydraulics failure and a bad thunderstorm up ahead while flying a DC-10 it can result in a potentially catastrophic freeze-up “deer in the headlights” syndrome.

Americans traditionally (frontier culture) had to stay flexible and ready for any situation (Apaches, tornadoes, rattlesnake bites) but this current generation is highly averse to unknowns. Look at how children are protected, coddled, kept away from any perceived “danger”. Like playing alone in a park across the street.

I cannot find the reference but Douglas Adams apparently had a scene in a novel where a huge UFO descends over a football stadium during a game, and the patrons are simply unable to take it in. They “see” it but cannot believe their eyes. I suspect this is what’s in play here.

      And excuse the verbose exposition.

I’d expect gay opinion to argue that opting into that way of being in the world actually generates greater tensions and torments, and that may indeed be so — but it is often the case with avoidance behavior that it invites unhappy complications

And not just avoidance behavior. All sorts of voluntary human behavior leads to greater tension and torment. Yes, the addictive behaviors comes to mind, but as the parent of two teenagers I can confidently say that raising children, though occasionally rewarding, has added a layer of tension and torment to my life that is orders of magnitude greater than anything else I have ever done. Yet I did it voluntarily.

The argument that nobody would choose to opt into the gender morphing lifestyle is specious at best. It is a flippant, conceited statement that the speaker has some special knowledge of what motivates people.

Personally and socially we are each on a journey of trying to “fit-in”. If anyone in western society today thinks that this “is a given” they have haven’t considered it, and “it can be”; but for those who are constantly challenged by what they feel and want to believe in, life is a very different ride in this carnival. I met Ms. Jenner when he was “Mr.” back in the 70’s, when he stopped by to promote track and field events in our little mid-western town. I was about 14-15yo and he came across as being much smaller than I remember him on the wheaties box and tv screen. A somewhat shy person. A real person, not so much the “celebraty”. Jim, your right on several points. In Ms. Jenners case gender isn’t so much the issue, it’s that a regular person has been sucked into the media hell-hole.

  18. Greg Knepp June 8, 2015 at 10:41 am #

The city of Sodom in the OT book of Genesis provides an interesting case study of the disintegration of defined sexual roles in a collapsing society.

Sodom had suffered a humiliating military defeat at the hands of a coalition of neighboring city-states. Abram and his hearty band of nomadic herdsmen entered the fray, slaughtering the invaders in a surprise night attack* and rescuing the captive Sodomites – his own nephew among them. In fact, the rescue of his nephew, Lot, had been the only reason for his involvement in the war.

The king of Sodom was further shamed when the victorious Abram refused any compensation or reward for his martial services. Abram hated all civilizations and found the Sodomites to be particularly disgusting.

Sexual deviance was the hallmark of the Sodomite social scene. For example: the men of Sodom wanted to have sex with God’s emissaries (ostensibly male) rather than with Lot’s comely young daughters. Not that they were innocent maidens mind you – they ended up raping their drunken father…all very disquieting in my view!

As fate would have it, Sodom was located on a low-lying plain, perilously close to underground deposits of oil and natural gas (as evidenced by surface deposits of ‘pitch’). Apparently someone struck a flint at the wrong time and in the wrong place, and … KAPLOOWEE!

Seems we’re all Sodomites now. “For as it was in the days of Sodom, so shall it be again…” NT

*Abram’s force was outnumbered by about four to one. This night attack represents an early example of asymmetrical warfare.

    • Farmer McGregor June 8, 2015 at 1:07 pm #

      Well said, Greg.

In the off-chance that you’re not up on this, I’d like to point out that the prophet Ezekiel informs us that the “sin of Sodom” was to this effect: Pride, fullness of bread, idleness of time, and they stretched not forth their hand to the needy. In other words, they were the products of an affluent society becoming arrogant, lazy, gluttonous, and self-centered. Sound familiar?

I’ve always figured that Ez’s failure to mention sexual perversion is simply because that is a natural outcome of a society bent on self-gratification and lust run amok. From an overall biblical perspective, the neglect and oppression of the poor is always a far greater offense to the eternal than sexual issues.

      Cheers,
      Another Greg

p.s. Some years ago Billy Graham was quoted as saying that God will either have to judge America, or apologize to Sodom & Gomorrah.

      • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 2:37 pm #

And homosexuality is the very essence of self indulgence and thus it is the Sin of Sodom. Nice try at getting this most favored special interest group (even Blacks have to bow to them) off the hook.

        • Farmer McGregor June 9, 2015 at 2:35 pm #

Janos, must you be so FOS?

Not trying to get anyone “off the hook”, just discussing the idea that unmitigated perversion (sexual and otherwise) is the typical result of societies that have become predominantly hedonic. As G Knepp points out, it is a symptom, not a cause. That doesn’t make it good or okay in any sense (IMHO). It is just another aspect of a culture that is swirling around the drain.

As our host occasionally points out, we act like a society that deserves to be punished.

      • Greg Knepp June 8, 2015 at 2:58 pm #

        Farmer Greg,

Good observation. My view is that Ezekiel’s writings function on a comparatively high level. He breaks some new ethical ground and is as creative an author as can be found in the OT. Perhaps he found the lesser sins of the flesh to be more symptoms than causes of moral decay.

In answer to you and Zoltar, no, the Easter (Ishtar) Bunny is not gay. He is a symbol of fertility originating, most probably, in ancient Europe. Like all manifestations of resurrection religions, including Christianity, he comes to the fore in the spring – the time of visible rebirth. He is justly praised for his reproductive ability…a characteristic that would not typically be associated with homosexuality.

I have to ask, Why are the “Elite” at war with “Heterosexual White Men”? I anxiously await your answer.

Because they are the ones who threaten the new order of course. Gays aren’t going to nor Women, Minorities, Immigrants, etc. Straight, White, Red State, God Fearing, Gun owning, Law abiding, Constitution believing men – the bedrock our civilization have become enemy number one – veterans especially of course.

    • abbybwood June 8, 2015 at 1:20 pm #

I do not agree that they are crazy. They are criminals who have been skating away from crime since their days in college (in Bill’s case at the time it was a rape charge).

Somebody sent me this video on the Clinton’s and the information goes back to the days of Clinton as governor of Arkansas.

Even though some right-wingers spout off during this video, the way it flips through all their crimes is astounding.

But to think they are headed for The White House for another eight years is a truly abhorrent thought:

That about says it for perpetuation of this foolish crapola (or benevolent neglect of the issue) by the State! A pressure relief valve, as it were…
Plus, there’s the added bonus of ratcheting up the cognitive dissonance quotient. (Get used to it “folks”, there’s a heapin’ helpin’ of more of that to come; useful in keeping you off-balanced and confused.)

Concerning Ms. TransJenner, I do believe the proclivity was always there, but then again, there’s $$$ to be made and Kardashi-tard Kulture to be kept up with. All Hail the Cult of Personality!

Personally, I think that anyone who defines their life and purpose by their sexuality is a fool (on multiple levels).

Lastly, let’s be realistic about the demographics of this “exciting new phenomena” in service of the Gay:

        (in Huff-and-Puff-Po)
“Gates’ best estimate, derived from five studies that have asked subjects about their sexual orientation, is that the nation has about 4 million adults who identify as being gay or lesbian, representing 1.7 percent of the 18-and-over population. (Gates is demographer-in-residence at the Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy, a think tank based at the University of California, Los Angeles. )”

Sooooo, I’m not real concerned that roving bands of the Gay and attendant surgeons are about to home invade and swap out everyone’s genitals just so they can feel that warm ‘majority’ feeling. 😉

Smaller groups than that have dominated before – the Eunuchs in late Ming China for example. But no, you’re right – it’s not the Gays but the Media bosses behind them. Find out who they and use the RICO and Anti-Trust Laws to break up their cartels.

Wow. This was the first I have heard about this. Maybe it shows how successful I have been ignoring the death spiral of amurican culture and its perverse and pointless media. Bruce Jenner a woman? Whadya know. I have heard about the Khardashians(sp?) but have no idea who they are or what they do or why and of course could care less. I THINK that ignoring the descent of this empire is a pretty good way to avoid wading in a cesspool of nonsense and maybe Jim should follow my example but of course what would he have to write about? Chickens? His garden? Personally I would rather hear about those topics and if enough people tune out and ignore this garbage culture, then maybe it will go away? Nah guess not. The kind of people that are truly interested and fascinated with these kind of topics are probably are garbage themselves or at least Pre-garbage. Pretty judgmental , you think? The best way to deal with garbage is to compost it and I would guess that one way or the other a lot of garbage will get composted.

  24. seawolf77 June 8, 2015 at 11:02 am #

You should have written about those cops in McKinney, TX. Now that would have generated 1,000 comments. What threat did a 14 year old girl in a bikini pose?

    • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 2:47 pm #

You are succumbing to Alinskyite media tactics of stop, freeze and isolate. The cop was doing his job against a minority mob that refused to obey directions.

      • seawolf77 June 8, 2015 at 4:27 pm #

Minority Mob? So Spring Break is a Majority Mob? Thug is another word for n*gg*r. Mob is any group of brown people. You think your wordsmithing hides your racism? Just the opposite, my blogger.

        • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 6:44 pm #

I’m not trying to hide my racism. It’s just another word for realism. I know the Blacks in that video look pretty clownish and not dangerous, but how it the cop supposed to know in such a volatile situation? Two Blacks were coming at him and he briefly pulled his firearm. That’s all. He didn’t brutalize the girl either, he held her down since she kept refusing to obey commands.

Btw, I believe the huge fat Black guy who was selling loosies was murdered. The White cop kept choking him after he was on the ground. I object to people making the whole issue of cop misbehavior (and it is legion) into a racial issue. Plenty of Whites have been killed too.

“Since she kept refusing to obey commands.” Wow you must been really close to hear that. Hmm, Ok, then can I start calling white thugs “n*igg*rs”? I would like this cleared up, and permission given before I next “take it to the street”.

Minority mob is not redundant language…I have seen mobs of white and mixed heritage, also. Before this debate devolves into acrimony, I would ask you, for a moment, to set aside your “victimhood” (or misplaced empathy)…someone needs a hug….

          • seawolf77 June 8, 2015 at 10:31 pm #

What do I have to do…sing it for you? Thug is the polite way of calling someone n*gg*r. Spelled it out for you. Get it? Kapiche? Comprende?

          • elysianfield June 9, 2015 at 11:05 am #

“What do I have to do…sing it for you?”

Yes, I “capisce”. However, a song, even accompanied by a spirited fandango, will not change the pejoratives you reference into anything ‘polite”…short for politically correct. In interest of being polite, what is the correct term for a black male who is violently “acting-out”? Can I use “spirited youth”? The acronym “bmwivao”? Or should I pretend that the criminal behavior doesn’t exist, or that it is a reparations protest? You gotta help me out here, Seawolf….

          • seawolf77 June 9, 2015 at 11:58 am #

Did you watch the video? It was a 14-15 year old teenage girl in a bikini. The cop grabbed her, threw her down on the ground, and then kneeled on top of her back in spite of her protesting how much he was hurting her. Prior to this two black boys came to her aid at which point the officer drew his pistol and along with 2 other white cops chased off the 2 boys trying to help the girl. Now exactly where was the black male violently acting out?

          • elysianfield June 9, 2015 at 1:24 pm #

            Wolfie,
Yes, I watched the video, and it appeared that the incident was not under control, and was ugly to watch. However, I was commenting on the term “thug”, not specifically directed at those people in the video…There was no audio, so I cannot comment on exactly what the officer was doing, or why…however, I did not see any “thuggish” behavior or dress amongst the people in the video.

Regarding the two black boys who came to her aid…in California, this is a crime that, believe it or not, is called “lynching”, and it is a felony.

Do we really know what causes people to be born into a physical gender that never fits? Reports from white men encountering some American Indian tribes described what we would now call transgender people–and the Indians revered them as being from both worlds. Whatever it is that causes it, research with small children who insist that they’re the other gender shows that the gender mismatch is realized early, deeply, and can be incredibly painful if left unacknowledged.

Bruce Jenner has lived his life in the public eye as the physical ideal of a man (and a decathlon is 10 sports, not 5) even though privately he always felt female. If he were just a regular zhlub who believed himself a woman, it wouldn’t be much of a story. But that a consummate male athlete-now-reality-star is so emotionally at odds with his body brings the issue into an unavoidable focus.

I don’t believe someone who’s led a private life can judge how he (and now she) went about revealing and accomplishing this change. She has said she feels that her position as a public figure could offer some good for those in similar conflicts. You can question Jenner’s taste or boundaries, but I can’t question her decision (I’d more strongly question why someone would marry into that family). I doubt anyone would go through this physical process casually; in Jenner’s case, her change is certainly stirring up hate as well.

I knew a highly respected (originally male) academic who waited to transition until her children were grown; they abandoned her, and her academic reputation suffered for no justifiable reason. Yet she felt it was something she had to do to be true to herself and was finally satisfied in having taken those many steps.

If Jenner can help others understand transgender issues, more power to her.

    • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 2:53 pm #

Liberal and Lesbian couples are now “transitioning” little boys. Nothing like this can be left to pop American culture. It’s a deeply personal thing – to be done in maturity. It certainly shouldn’t become some kind of popular ideal – which is obviously what the Elite intend.

Traditional Cultures can be very corrupt too. One Polynesian Culture tries to force a certain number of good looking boys to become women. Why? They provide a sexual outlet outside of marriage and procreation for other young men and they also provide muscle for the heavier aspects of women’s labor.

Some (not all) Native American Cultures were so brutal that sensitive boys might have been drawn to the women’s role just to escape from the savagery.

    • Cheesewhiz June 8, 2015 at 3:18 pm #

“Third-gender” categories, like the Amerind “Beardaches” or the Indian “Hirja,” don’t easily fit Western categories of sexual orientation or gender identity. These institutions are often based on social and work roles rather than personal psychological states – and for the most part, “third gender” individuals are despised, shunned, brutalized, and persecuted in their native lands. (Check the wikipedia article for “Hirja” for more information about this.)

Christianity eliminated third-gender institutions in Western and Orthodox societies because these institutions were deeply abusive, dehumanizing, and insulting to basic personal dignity. This was a great triumph in the upwards march of civilization – and one that post-Christian Western nations should not thoughtlessly cast aside (or use as justification to attack the still-Christian East with economic sanctions, coup attempts, subversion activities, etc.)

Whatever the cause of “transgenderism,” it is clearly a result of psychological and physiological problems during the course of development. We could spend years discussing what role endocrine disrupting chemicals, soy-based foods, the media, schools, and a million other factors may play in the etiology of this illness. But two things we must never do are 1) celebrate a disease rather than seek its cure, and 2) thuggishly ban free speech, even if it’s in the name of “sensitivity.”

      • SpeedyBB June 15, 2015 at 3:54 am #

I agree that there are effects from all the chemicals similar to natural hormones from pesticides and even discarded prescriptions. I think the evidence indicates there is an increase in autism and not just increased diagnoses as with ADHD. But the vaccine hypothesis for causing increasing autism has been thoroughly debunked. On the other hand, there are other studies which indicate that environmental exposures in early fetal development increase autism. And our petrochemical world is awash in chemicals which simulate hormones and combined with some genetic predisposition explains the increase in Autism. Of course we know that puberty has been occurring earlier for girls…

I agree. This is a huge initiative on the part of the Elite, the opening salvo in a new battle front against humanity. They intend to deconstruct gender. They been experimenting with this in Sweden for years in the schools – giving boys girl’s names, etc. It will becoming to America and the rest of Europe. Parents, get your children out of public schools. To keep them in is child abuse. It’s already too late in Germany which has criminalized home schooling.

  33. Zarko Straadi June 8, 2015 at 11:37 am #

I find it fascinating how so many people seem to think that Jesus created the Universe in 1950 and revealed His eternal cosmic truths to us in the Gospel According to Leave it to Beaver. Transgendered people (and gay people, and the rest of the spectrum of gender ambiguity) have always been with us. Try a Google image search for Pharaoh Akhenaten, or read those passages in the Bible where David tells his boy-crush Jonathan that his love is better than the love of women. A man after Yahweh’s own heart!

We’ve also been tinkering with our bodies (and pretty much everything else we could get our hands on) at least since Otzi the Ice Man was getting his tats done. Culture after culture after culture, many of which endured far longer than Murica will, have engaged in forms of body-modification that make Caitlyn’s transition modest by comparison. Humans are hackers, and one of the things we like to hack is our humanity. Always have been, always will be.

Also, the nice, tidy “boys wear pants, girls wear dresses” gender role system was a fairly recent invention of one particular culture, hardly a principle of physics. Heck, at the founding of our Republic, Real Men(tm) like Benjamin Franklin went around in ribbons, lace, spin curls, and tight pants. And let’s not even talk about the dudes across the pond in France. They made Liberace look like Conan the Barbarian. OTOH, Conan could walk into the right sort of gay bar all bare-chested sporting his leather codpiece and not look a bit out of place… Go back a bit further, and you’ve got Ramses II with his jewelry, eyeliner, and pleated kilt.

There was a time when people’s status and vocations in life were just as “set” as gender roles are (were) in our present culture. You received your place in life from your parents as surely as you received your looks. It’s why we have people with surnames like “Baker” and “Smith.” Then, the Eternal Proper Order of the Universe stopped being so, and jobs became a thing people could change, even choose for themselves. Conservatives wailed with outrage then, too. Somehow, humanity survived.

OK, so much for the Angry Grandpa Chorus. Go ahead, get an empty chair, pretend that Obama is sitting in it, and have a debate. You might even win.

Next there’s the smug sanctimony of “OMG, America is so stupid for focusing on this, and I’m going to prove it by writing a whole bunch of stuff on the internet focusing on this.” I can’t help but notice that Our Genial Host, who almost never includes pictures with these columns, couldn’t help but feature the Vanity Fair cover with this one. I’m not sure why this story deserves such special attention, except perhaps as a testimony to the skill of modern surgeons.

Given that events in the Middle East and North Africa are finally starting to resemble some of the predictions JHK has been making year after year, with the expected economic collapse and social chaos regularly failing to materialize, I don’t quite understand why an aging celebrity posing in her underwear should be worthy of notice. There’s hundreds of thousands of climate refugees trying to head from Africa to Europe, spreading war in Syria/Iraq, and even on Saudi Arabia’s doorstep. Why not sit back, claim some long-awaited vindication, and speculate a bit on what happens next?

    • HARM June 8, 2015 at 1:28 pm #

Mostly agree. Whenever the subject turns to sexuality, it seems JHK goes into “angry grandpa” mode as you say, and seems to hearken back to a different (and not necessarily better) time in his complaints. Evidenced by still referring to homosexuality as a “theory”. A theory, really James?? I suppose Michaelangelo, Da Vinci, quite a few Roman emperors, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Oscar Wilde, Cole Porter, Noel Coward, Virginia Woolf, John Maynard Keynes, Andy Warhol, and practically everyone to ever work on Broadway must have been “theorizing”.

Is Bruce–>”Caitlyn’s” dubious transformation really as big a deal as JHK and others think? Does it really mark the turning point in the supposed “moral decline” in America (a-la Gibbons Fall of the Roman Empire), or is it just a consequence of the American public’s increasingly vapid tastes and desire for vicarious escape from their (increasingly difficult) daily struggles? Not to mention the media’s perpetual fascination of celebrity freakshows and the profit-driven desire to get more clicks and sell more product?

Yes, I think the media jumped the shark on Jenner, and raising serious questions about transgender “treatments” in general (aka gender dysphoria) does NOT make one an automatic bigot. The suicide rate among the transgender is roughly 25X that of the rest of the population, and you do not turn a “Y” chromosome into an “X” by fiat, so I remain unconvinced that surgery and hormone injections for life are the best answer to these people’s psychological problems. Perhaps counseling them and their families to accept they are in fact gay or bisexual men/women might be a better alternative?

      • BackRowHeckler June 8, 2015 at 1:35 pm #

Also they get murdered a lot, too.

Adherents of the three Desert Death Cults have eliminated through torture and murder a lot more than your comments suggest. That in the 21st Century anyone still takes the insane superstitions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam seriously is practically beyond belief.

“I remain unconvinced that surgery and hormone injections for life are the best answer to these people’s psychological problems. Perhaps counseling them and their families to accept they are in fact gay or bisexual men/women might be a better alternative?”

This is what in fact has been attempted in the past, ‘conversion’ or ‘reparative’ therapy. In the past this included ECT, lobotomies, forced incarceration and all the rest.

Guess what, as with gay/lesbian ‘reparative’ therapy…it didn’t work…except to increase the already terrible Transgender suicide rate.

The only thing that does work (as backed by many, many studies) is transitioning, often (but not always) involving HRT and surgery. After which adult TG mental health statistics start to trend towards normal levels (for their age and gender).

The effects are even more dramatic for TG children and adolescents, where mental health statistics very quickly move to the averages for their age and gender.

So HARM, it has all been tried …and failed. gender dysphoria is far deeper and more innate than that and starts at a very early age (in my case my first memory is 6 years of age).

Gender identity is not sexual identity.
TG people show the same diversity of sexuality as everyone else, some are attracted to males exclusively, some only females, some are bisexual, some are asexual.

To try and change a gender identity into a sexual one is impossible, the two are not linked (despite some daft claims based on zero evidence).

At best conversion ‘therapy’achieves nothing, more commonly it increases depression and suicide (as per Leelah Alcorn).

Hence the WPATH standards of care and the banning of such reparative therapy.

See, the problem is this, given the money involved how do you keep the Kardashian freak-show going?

Maybe the Kardashians ran out of ideas so they decided to dress Bruce up as a girl.

Maybe they thought of doing up his ex(?)-wife Chris as a man but maybe, as the domina, she objected to the indignity. Maybe she figured she’s the shot-caller after all and there’s no way she’s dressing up in men’s clothes and going out with some lesbo gold-digger on her arm, not for all the money in the world. But maybe Bruce wasn’t so averse, maybe he thought, what the hell, this is all about business and money anyway, and if there’s potentially a lot of money in it, why not give it a try?

Ask yourself, what are YOU willing to do for a buck? Or a million bucks? Or ten million?

How much worse does it get? I don’t know, maybe history has something to say about it. As some would have it, the Kardashians are symptomatic of cultural collapse, the last play before the lights go out.

But maybe from the perspective of a future observer who will have seen such depravities that would make even jaded observers such as ourselves cringe, the Kardashians will look like paragons of purity and innocence, like My Three Sons or Leave it to Beaver, just some kids trying to have fun. So what if Bruce dresses up?

So maybe we ain’t seen nuthin’. Maybe in our decay we go whole hog Roman with NFL stadiums as sites of gladiatorial combat between lifers, the prize for the winner being liberty and maybe some money, the booby prize for the loser being death.

Or maybe, as community standards go totally to shit, the regulators will ok a bright and shiny entrepreneur’s idea to broadcast the goings-on at the Huntsville unit on the internet. Of course to watch you’ll have to pay. And why not? And why shouldn’t the successors and heirs of the condemned not make some money out of this? Same with the successors and heirs of those harmed by the condemned?

So maybe one of the great existential question of our times is now this: where do the Kardashians, as cultural trail-blazers, go from here? Is this it? Are they done? Where do WE go from here? Are WE done?

Or maybe, compared to what’s coming, this Jenner thing is just so much ado about nothing, a momentary diversion. Maybe, after they’ve thoroughly milked it and the public loses interest, Bruce tosses the dress, has a good laugh, and quietly goes back to living as a man.

  36. arthurvibert June 8, 2015 at 11:58 am #

What’s curious is that the Muslims would in fact accept this formal reassignment of sexual role. I was provided an elaborate explanation of the status of ‘waria’ (transvestites) when watching a Muslim religious event here in Jakarta. Three of these bony drag queens singing holy songs and swaying on the stage was quite a sight. Islam is ultra-legalistic, with hadith (codicils) for just about every possible condition. I also read that the Iranians (of all people) have also made provision for gender shift (though I imagine only one-way, as women do not have the luxury of trying this out).

What is strictly verboten is a marriage simulacrum between men: just like the two other Desert Death Cults it imposes capital punishment. You have to have a couple of witnesses to the coupling, however, so it’s not so easy to get caught.

Close male-to-male relationships, often intensely emotional, are a natural where the females are sequestered away from before puberty. Sexual expression is not unknown but highly discouraged.

well Bruce Jenner can now go from being a spoiled rotten. D list male celebrity to a pampered spoiled rotten . D list female celebrity. only in Hollywood and the entertainment world could he be considered brave and normal. In the real world he is just a sad silly clown.

I am greatly disappointed in the news media telling me if I make any negative comments about TransJenner I am ignorant bigot. this is like a classic Emperors New Clothes. story.

    • VegasBob June 8, 2015 at 1:11 pm #

I’m gay. It was never a “choice” for me. I was just born that way. It is what it is. I came out of the closet in 1970, at a time when it was neither chic nor fashionable to be gay in this country.

Maybe TransJenner was born the way s/he is too. That said, I am truly stunned at the media hysteria over TransJenner, as if Caitlyn/Bruce has made some sort of “brave” or “heroic” or even noteworthy choice.

The fact of the matter is that transsexual surgery has been around for over 60 years, starting with Christine Jorgensen in the early 1950s.

So the truth is that TransJenner could have proceeded with gender reassignment surgery DECADES ago. Instead s/he waited until the ripe old age of 65 to begin the process, at a time in history when just about any behavior has become “socially acceptable.”

Bruce/Caitlyn’s timeline is not heroic. It’s cowardly.

But in this day and age, as JHK says, “Anything goes, and nothing matters.”

      • HARM June 8, 2015 at 1:50 pm #

Good to hear someone from the LGBT community weigh in on this, thanks for your insights.

A few in the media have (bravely) raised the possibility that Jenner’s ‘coming out’ was not a sincere expression of a true gender identity crisis at all, but was a calculated ploy at regaining the spotlight from his far more popular (and exposed) stepchildren. This did not win those individuals any love, of course. I’m not convinced tat is indeed the case (at least not entirely), but I would not rule it out as a possible motive either. Jenner seems to relish the spotlight and must resent being perpetually upstaged by the Kardashians.

      • MisterDarling June 8, 2015 at 1:59 pm #

“I came out of the closet in 1970, at a time when it was neither chic nor fashionable to be gay in this country.”-VegasBob.

  43. DrTomSchmidt June 8, 2015 at 12:39 pm #

I think JHK has overlooked the #1 reason for all the focus on gay and transgender topics in the media. Put simply, peak oil means we will no longer have the means to turn fossil fuels into food for a planet of 7 billion people. It’s population control by signaling to a younger, media-obsessed (or at least media-paying-attention-to) generation that inherently sterile sexual activity (recall the debate in the NYT about using the words “oral sex” when Monica and Bill were doing it), either heterosexual or homosexual, is normal and expected, and that castration and male nullification can lead to happiness, like young people should all become devotees of Cybele.

If you know you have a crisis with fossil fuels, and you don’t have the balls (heh!) to kill the “excess population,” then you at least try to keep from adding more future mouths to feed. Since Westerners use a lot more resources than third-worlders, target them for population suppression. Now, how we square this approach with bringing in new Immigrants to use resources at the pace of the never-born Westerners is beyond me, but the approach has a certain logic.

I agree with BackRowHeckler. You’ve thrown away any chance at appearing again in the Atlantic, NYTimes, etc. brave, perhaps foolish, but good for you, Jim.

    • BackRowHeckler June 8, 2015 at 1:41 pm #

      I don’t know Doc.

You’re almost, but not quite, saying “Soylent Green is people”.

Could that be the reason for 3 million 3rd world immigrants per year?

Just kidding. Allow me that if you will.

      brh

      • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 3:14 pm #

Population control may be one of the reasons the Elite want this to become popular. But anything that weakens the family and makes Hetero relationships between men and women difficult serves them in this – and in other things. The Tranny Revolution will kill many birds with one stone. They are playing 3D Star Trek Chess and we are playing checkers.

        • hineshammer June 8, 2015 at 6:15 pm #

Oh Jesus Lord, Lord Jesus. That’s one long, convoluted way to control the population. At this rate, the “Elite” should have their way in another 5000 years.

          • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 6:53 pm #

Marriage rates are already down. Birth rates even more so. They are building on Feminism which has been fantastically successful at reducing both of these.

The worker of the future will be a denationalized, deracialized, and degenderized worker insect basically. Who knows? Maybe they’ll even give the Feminists what they want eventually which is a reduction of biological men by 90%.

You know that the worker social insects are sterile females, right? Are we really so far from this “ideal” even now?

          • Pat Ormsby June 8, 2015 at 8:19 pm #

Janos, this is happening in Japan, too, where feminism never got a foothold. There are a lot of girls who would like to marry and be a stay-at-home wife here, but there are too few guys willing or able to take on that load. Furthermore, younger guys and gals are just not interested in each other any more (see my post below for more on that).

    • Pat Ormsby June 8, 2015 at 8:45 pm #

As social norms and technology has progressed, I think each new generation is faced with challenges that the older generation cannot even imagine. For my generation, the search for personal freedom made marriages less stable, but I also think (and it is just my opinion) that some gender-bending chemicals from new-fangled plastics may also have made women more inclined than before to pursue a career. Now the younger generation is living in a cyber world. That, and perhaps even more gender-bending substances floating around, is a real candidate for the bizarre ways in which people (and not just the younger generation) are reacting. There is research (from 2008: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2008/07/is-google-making-us-stupid/306868/ ) saying our use of the Net actually changes our brain structure, even when we are older.

  44. nspencer June 8, 2015 at 12:43 pm #

Of all the sexual personae Bruce Jenner had to choose from for “Caitlyn”, he had to pick Jessica Rabbit. A toon, BTW. Which just goes to show you…

  45. stmad June 8, 2015 at 1:06 pm #

I can’t help but get the feeling this whole “Caitlyn” thing is more about separating us as a society than extolling our understanding and open-minded nature. Everything the media presents has ideological “cues” to make our decisions about things for us. This story tries to tap into our progressive, empathetic nature to be accepting (whether we want to be or not). Meanwhile, it pokes the bear of intolerance (and the piously intolerant) like a cattle prod.

I want “reality” TV to die. I want popular media to choke on it’s own short-sightedness and greed. I want my kids to learn self-respect and dignity while swimming upstream against a torrent of pop-culture sewage.

    See? I’m a typical American “I want…I want…I want…”

  46. BeerBarrel June 8, 2015 at 1:14 pm #

The Spokane (Washington) Police Department not long ago hosted a “diversity” seminar that someone I know attended.

The seminar was given by a self-professed lesbian who at one point stated, among other ways one can be queer, that it’s possible for a man to be a homosexual, but like women. In other words, a lesbian trapped in a man’s body.

“I am not kidding”, the policeman told me, as we dissolved into laughter and tears. What the f*ck, huh?

On another note; I wonder if those prisoners who want to be transgender-ized are only concocting an elaborate ruse to get into “the other prison”. I know I’d try if I was a ‘lifer’ … LOL.

  47. MisterDarling June 8, 2015 at 1:29 pm #

This is an interesting post by JHK at an interesting juncture and I have two things to say about it.

    Last things first;

“The best explanation (not mine originally), may be that in a “liminal” moment of history, when great scary trends and events trigger society’s existential dread, all kinds of boundaries dissolve.”-J H K.

One of the things that you notice as you go through a “liminal” moment with a group – large or small – is all the mindless chatter. You notice (for instance) that 19-times-out-of-20 it’s the virgins (to sex, battle or death) who are doing the most talking prior to the actual event. It’s just something that the rest of us learn to endure, or enjoy if we can. [*]

The Bottom Line is that this isn’t worth getting worked up about. It’s all part of the process…

“But doesn’t it all raise the question: why is it so important for the nation’s cultural stage managers to make the case that a life of sexual confusion is the highest-and-best way of being in this world? It’s everywhere…. One easy theory might be that old chestnut about folks out on the “cutting edge” always needing a new way to épater le bourgeois, shock and horrify the middle class (into the recognition of their pathetic, mind-numbing dullness.) Maybe the middle class doesn’t have enough to think about with keeping a step ahead of the re-po man, or being billed $30,000 to give birth in a hospital, or working 70 hours a week.”-J H K.

This is a great paragraph in that it cuts right to why this crap is not important.

‘The Culture’ is not being swayed or corrupted in any meaningful way – any more than it already was. It was this culture that created the conditions for this to happen, after all. Now we are just seeing ever-more ridiculous versions of it, as the burden of having __an actual obligation__ to pretend that ‘everything’s fine’ melts away…

Once again, this is the nonsense-babble that people – or their culture – spout on their way out.

    — — —

[*] At times like these It’s tempting to imagine a dialogue between a Hit Man & his Victim:

V: “You don’t have to do this!”

HM: “Uh, yes I certainly fucking do! Otherwise why-the-fuck would I be here? For the sunshine?! Now shut-the-fuck-up and die already!”

  48. BrunoGerace June 8, 2015 at 1:31 pm #

Thanks, James. All that invective I’ve heaped upon you over the years? I take it all back! You’ve identified the “nothingness” which is the Caitlyn phenomenon at its center, an irrelevance boosted by desperation into the stratosphere of our attention. This crap is a Cultural Red Herring that has the tangential effect of taking our attention off the realities before us. (Now, if only you’d ease up on the Palestinians, but never mind.) Ciao!

  49. Beryl of Oyl June 8, 2015 at 1:35 pm #

Great post. I have been finding myself increasingly disgusted with this whole sordid episode, and could not explain exactly what was bothering me so much about it.
The other Kardashian women are able to easily infiltrate the “news” media with advertising for their business empire, it must have really bothered Bruce that he had to work so hard for his moment in the limelight, only to be overshadowed by mere girls who don’t really do anything. He’s truly Keeping Up now, isn’t he?
I was in the CVS when I saw two magazines displayed, one above the other. One had the ‘old’ Bruce on the cover, the other featured the new Batchelorette, Kaitlyn. I think I know where Bruce got the name; he probably thinks he’s throwing people off, or perhaps being clever, with the “C”.

  50. Chris June 8, 2015 at 1:36 pm #

Regarding your stated expectation about what “gay opinion” would argue about “opting into that way of being in the world” (i.e., homosexual)… Well, pop goes your ignorance at thinking that any gay person would believe that there is any “opting” involved. When did you “opt” into your sexual orientation? Despite the broken record that you are, you might be well advised to keep your theorizing to themes related to your first, brilliant, book.

    • RealReason June 9, 2015 at 10:13 am #

Chris: Unfortunately, you are correct on all points. I say unfortunately, because I believe Jim sees much of the world for what it is, and to the extent that this post is aimed at the nonsensical aspects of our culture, he is correct, but his confounded views about transsexuals and homosexuality show a deep level of misunderstanding. Other commenters are right that this will probably restrict invitations from Rolling Stone, etc., but not for the reason they imagine, rather than the PC issue, it will be because it casts doubt on his thinking about the things about which he is right.

      • Chris June 9, 2015 at 10:56 am #

RealReason: Thanks for yours. That makes perfect sense. Yeah, you check in with his blog every week, and then wake up one day to get a roll-your-eyes Glenn Beck feeling about someone whom you considered to be pretty intellectual. Or, you ponder whether the blog is entering late season Ally McBeal mode, wherein desperation for content leads one to turn every scene into a breakout Broadway revue.

Jenner’s grandiose appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair has almost nothing to do with his “existential” struggle over his sexuality/gender. No, it has everything to do with his privilege as a white, wealthy, male who can purchase whatever he wants.

Great post. Charlotte Allen had a wonderful piece in the Atlantic back in March on the “Transgender Triumph.” http://www.weeklystandard.com/articles/transgender-triumph_859614.html

It was wonderful–for me at least–because she went where many journalists are afraid to go when discussing transgender trends: to Michael Bailey, the controversial psychology prof at Northwestern whose research on transsexuality really pisses transgender advocates off. Bailey argues that there are basically two kinds of transsexuals (the old term for transgender): effeminate gay guys who can more easily pass as women and can get more action with boobs and without a penis, and hypermasculine guys (all the famous transgenders you know) who have had a fetish for seeing themselves in female clothing/phenotype all their lives, and decide finally to become women in a kind of midlife crisis.

Blanchard (where the ‘theory’ originated) has been disproven and debunked endlessly by all sorts of studies. It is rejected by the leading World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).

Even using his own data, when it is properly analysed then totally different conclusions come out. He massaged it and ignored contrary data to make everything fit his ‘theory’.

Bailey, who later popularised this ‘theory’ has been pilloried and censored by his own peers for his selective statistics, making up data, misquoting his own very small number of research subjects (who were not told they were such and thus generated multiple formal complaints to his university).

The core of this debunked and rejected ‘theory’ is that sexual desire is the only cause of gender dysphoria. It also only deals with MtF trans women.

The inconvenient facts are that there are a heck of a lot of FtM trans men and there are non sexual TG children…… Plus TG sexuality (for both MtF and FtM) covers a very wide spectrum, From being exclusively male attracted (this includes trans men as well), to exclusively female attracted, being bisexual and being asexual.
Then there are all those people who (like myself) never experienced autogynephilia, ever. Yet according to the ‘theory’ I must have….. Science this is not.

Sexual orientation has nothing whatsoever to do with gender dysphoria. Gender identity is not sexuality for TG people any more than it is for cis people.

“…the shy, elderly, Olympic decathlon champion….”

The bold, elderly, James H. Kunstler was born on October 19, 1949. The shy, elderly Olympic decathlon champ was born on October 28, 1949, nine days later.

I’m no fan of all the sexuality on display in our public life either, but I don’t rant about it on the internet. I feel sorry for people who identify themselves as “transgender,” but I don’t find it necessary to vilify them. I don’t like to watch people sucking on each others’ tongues in a restaurant, whether they are of opposite sex or same sex, but neither do I pitch a hissy fit when it happens. I simply turn away and don’t look at it. Don’t like a picture of a man in a woman’s swimsuit? Don’t look at it. Problem solved.

    • Janos Skorenzy June 8, 2015 at 7:02 pm #

Mr Kunstler isn’t vilifying him or them. He is vilifying the Media goons who are foisting this on the American people for their own purposes.

      • Dave in Pasadena June 8, 2015 at 7:09 pm #

Why did JHK find it necessary to “foist” the picture of Transjenner on us in his blog? Isn’t he doing the same thing as the rest of the media? Seems more like he’s joined the goons than vilifying them. He “opted” to run the picture and write about it to show how he is incredibly independent-minded and willing to go up against that amazingly powerful cabal of transgender elites.

Yes good point. Iran posts in public pictures of scantily clad Western Models for the people to hate. I assume he wanted us to hate the picture like he does. Nice try. I don’t love the picture of Jenner in a swimsuit, that may be why I managed to avoid looking at it until I opened Mr. Kunstler’s blog post today. He could have written about his disgust with the picture without posting it on his blog, but he “opted” to post it. He wanted to stir up controversy by posting and writing about this freak show. He didn’t have to post it to get us to hate it.

  65. TimBloom June 8, 2015 at 6:57 pm #

Jim, Anyone who is willing to be on the cover of Vanity Fair deserves your oppbrium. I didn’t know about Jenner until his name started getting in the way of real news. But I am glad you chose him instead of a real human being such as Chelsea Manning:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chelsea_Manning

What you stated about this being a media spectacle is spot on. However, your knowledge on the diversity of human sexuality is, well, lacking. For an old straight white man, you’ve taught me a lot about how fragile our society is, and I really enjoy your writing. But when you venture outside your area of expertise and make broad assumptions about “homosexuality”, you will sound stupid, fast. That’s OK, Jim. My mother sincerely loved me and I was always there for her, even though she went to her grave self-assured that my innate attraction to guys is a “choice”. No amount of reminding her that she could never “choose” to be lesbian would change such a core fundament stamped on her since childhood. So what. I didn’t demand of her that she understand me. And I don’t expect you to understand that I was born gay. But if you consider my sexuality a choice, then perhaps you should also state that you “decided” to be straight.

For me, this is moot. As long as your stupidity about my sexuality doesn’t convince you to attack me, as thousands of gays are brutally attacked every year, it’s merely amusing. But for gays in “less tolerant” countries, they are hunted down for sport. I don’t need to get married — I had a lawyer set up my affairs so that my partner isn’t dumped on the street if I die suddenly. However, I cringe when hear some slack-jawed bigot declare that legal acceptance of my relationship would be a “special right”.

Jim, I doubt you’ll want to rethink your mainstream bigotry for my benefit. But perhaps you might for the kids. I survived my childhood, but some of my friends weren’t so lucky. Eric’s dad did his best to beat the gay out of his son. Maybe it worked, until he shot himself in the head at a party at age 19. Tony’s dad kicked him out at age 15 because he wouldn’t tolerate non-christian lifestyles. Tony got taken in by a drug dealer who didn’t pay his bills. An enforcer took 2 hours to slice the boy into pieces and then bragged about it that night. Tim was a cute orphan adopted at age 10. But when his parents discovered he was too cute, they threw him back to the state just after his 14th birthday, even taking back his name. These were friends of mine from my youth, each whose parents thought their children were making bad decisions.

Please don’t think I’m asking you to be politically correct. I really don’t like how social issues are used as a distraction to divide us all. But try to have some compassion here. Please.

I have a theory about heterosexuals. Y’all come by it naturally. It can’t be helped. And a by product of your personal attractions sometimes result in children, and who can call that such a bad thing? Well unless there’s an extra 275,000 of them being produced every day. I know, I know. Not all you hetersexuals actually breed. But enough of you do such that our planet is being overrun and infested with humans to such a dire extent that a tragic dieoff is almost certainly in the cards. Now I don’t blame any of you personally. But frankly, when the hungry times come, don’t be throwing your hands in the air and claim overpopulation is an act of God simply because your favorite religions urged you to “Go forth and Multiply”. So Jim, if you want to crack on sexuality and the breakdown of civilization, try writing a column to urge your fellow hetersexuals to opt for fellatio or the south port more often. You may find out there’s no listening to reason on such matters, but least you’d be pointing your finger in the right direction.

Thanks again for an engaging post. Even when I feel compelled to comment in dissent, I really appreciate your efforts.

Many boys abused by Gay Priests also killed themselves.

I have nothing against gay partnerships, but calling it marriage and allowing them to adopt children and then teaching it to children in school, is all bridge far too far.

The Pro-Gay marriage meme that it doesn’t affect
Straights at all is simply a lie. It changes society in a most fundamental and destructive way.

      • Dave in Pasadena June 8, 2015 at 8:22 pm #

How does “it change society in a most fundamental and destructive way?” Nobody seems to be able to explain it including in court cases, but that doesn’t stop people from making the assertion again and again. Note that the heterosexuals have done a fine job of destroying the institution of marriage all by themselves because up until a few years ago, only male and female couples were allowed to marry, yet the rate of divorce is, and has been for quite some time, around 50%.

Marriage between two persons of the same sex doesn’t re-define marriage anymore than allowing women to vote re-defined voting or anymore than allowing black people to sit at a lunch counter re-defined eating. Allowing two persons of the same sex to have the protections and responsibilities of the civil law construct called marriage has not been demonstrated to change society in a most fundamental and destructive way. How does it destroy a society to allow people of the same sex to live and let live with the same protections, advantages, and responsibilities as male and female couplings?

I eagerly await your proof of this terrible destruction of society.

        • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 12:07 am #

How does it ruin society? Because it allows gays to adopt kids and such kids, deprived of either a mother or father, will grow up unbalanced. And of course since it is the Law, Homosexuality and Gay Marriage will be taught in public schools, making sure it becomes the new norm – every bit as normal (if not better) as Heterosexuality.

Marriage is by definition a Heterosexual institution for the birth and raising of children. It serves society – not just the strange passions and disordered inclinations of individuals.

Those who don’t believe in anything will end up believing in any thing as a substitute religion. It is natural to worship God in some way or other. Deprived of that, people will turn to making a cult out of the Red Sox or some other sports team. Or turn to drink, drugs, or porn. What is your poison?

As Aquinas says, the misuse or corruption of something says nothing about the correct use or function of that something. You haven’t proven that all religion is corrupt or useless.

Fair enough. But what is good? It’s clear enough if someone is stuck under a car, but what if someone is chronically depressed? They might need what religion has to offer. And if they respected your opinion and stayed away, it might be to their grievous detriment.

You can’t help unless you have knowledge. Would you want an untrained person moving someone who has a complex fracture? Maybe if the car was about to blow. Or if they were in the middle of the road. But not otherwise and even then carefully if possible. Much knowledge. You have it in this area, but in the deeper realms of the psyche? Not so much.

Mystery Babylon was the first religion. It was based on human sacrifice as a means to conjure demons. This contact with the supernatural was considered worth any price, that is why children were used without hesitation. This morphed into Christianity, where the father sacrifices the son.

            from SBPDL,
            Blacks against solar power?

            http://www.tampabay.com/news/business/energy/several-business-and-african-american-groups-oppose-florida-solar/2233126

Two national African American organizations filed briefs in opposition to the solar ballot initiative now before the state Supreme Court this week, arguing the proposal would harm minority and low-income consumers.

The National Black Chamber of Commerce and the Florida chapter of the National Congress of Black Women Inc., argued that utility companies would have difficulty recouping their costs as wealthier customers installed solar and the financially disadvantaged paid to maintain power plants and power lines.

“Modest and low income family members may not be inclined to vote for the initiative if they knew they would be called upon to subsidize those who are supplied solar energy,” lawyer M. Stephen Turner wrote on behalf of the National Congress of Black Women.

Blacks are angered after having to possibly subsidize other people. Haven’t we been subsidizing everything for them for the last 50 years?

Dave in Pasadena: “I simply turn away and don’t look at it. Don’t like a picture of a man in a woman’s swimsuit? Don’t look at it. Problem solved.”

    Exactly! Pay it no attention.

I have deliberately not seen any of the videos. I have not read any of the articles. I do not ascribe anything transcendental to transgendered individuals being in the news. It appears to be their 15 minutes of fame. Big deal.

I have spoken with some who are transgendered and “in transition.” They are harmless and I am glad if they gain social acceptance. I do not believe transgendered people are sexually confused. They seem to know exactly what they want, and God bless them. Some of them are nice. Some are interesting. Some are boring. They seem not that different from other people.

I could not avoid transgender headlines, but I never clicked through. I am pretty sure Caitlyn Jenner’s debut and Bruce Jenner’s farewell… splashed all over the mainstream media and the internet… was not accidental. Nor was my refusal to pay attention. I’m just not interested in the details… nor in wasting time on a highly organized public-relations campaign. According to CFN isn’t MSM full of lies? Why would you read it? It is like rubbernecking.

These are the top 500 issues that concern me, listed from most important to least important:

    1) Nuclear weapons proliferation and loose nukes

    2) Climate change and environmental degradation

    …..

    500) Transgendered story lines

  67. Frankiti June 8, 2015 at 7:33 pm #

It is all rather silly. Ultimately, we have a man dressing as a woman. It is all quite boring. The real problem, is that despite it being 2015, the consumer is not in control of the content. The media, at this time, still has the ability to program, as opposed to the consumer, or end-user discovering and determining what is truly interesting, what is the zeitgeist. People need to stop being passive digesters of recorded video entertainment (including the “news” or “info” variety). It’s beyond passé. So long as people allow the peddlers into their home, well, this is what we have… a national discussion about recorded video entertainment. Move on, nothing to see here.

    • Therian June 9, 2015 at 9:06 am #

The biggest concern for me about “passive ingesting” is that it has also meant the death of reading. It also implies that the entire culture, the brilliant and the idiotic alike, are ALL getting their inputs from SCREENS. The great thing about books is that you have to go and seek them out, buy them, and read them so you’re not getting single-source input. Most books never make it to general public awareness.

You’re absolutely right about Caitlyn Jenner. It’s just more bread and circuses so that we can ignore the slow decay in our nation’s psyche and its wallet.

  68. peakfuture June 8, 2015 at 7:36 pm #

    More media circuses. Sigh.

When things start edging towards the Long Emergency/WMBH, this stuff is going to seem so trivial. For folks who do go the route that Jenner took, the drug availability issue (there is continual intake of hormones, correct?) might be a real problem down the road. In the future, being gay or lesbian won’t matter a whit, but being transgender might be just simply too difficult, from a physical/infrastructure point of view.

On a more important side tangent (and perhaps grist for this blog later on) – given the prison break in upstate NY, it does bring up the issue – what happens when we can’t afford to run those prisons? More prison breaks, and more lawlessness in the wilderness?

  69. Frankiti June 8, 2015 at 7:45 pm #

It’s a testament to the utter emptiness… the boredom that defines the American existence. Who would have thought that the agricultural revolution would have brought the free time to contemplate a sad man wearing make-up for attention? Western civilization is nearing yet another nadir in a roller-coaster ending.

  70. Pat Ormsby June 8, 2015 at 7:58 pm #

Oh gosh, s/he is pretty! I’ll look through the comments and see if anyone else has been noticing this, but here in Japan, at least, I am hearing (and witnessing to some degree) that the younger generation, by which I mean up to mid-30s now, which I guess they are calling “millennials” in America, has no interest in the opposite sex whatsoever, or sex of any form, for that matter.

Anything up to about 40 is typically referred to as “a child” in Japan.

I am mostly just hearing about this, because these young folks all sport telephones that cause me to react with symptoms like arrhythmia and disorientation. I hear they spend their days on line with like-minded folk, which does not include the opposite sex, because they have a different mind.

At the risk of making a permanent fool of myself in the indelible and yet ephemeral medium we call “cyberspace,” I must say that I veritably lusted after men from age 13 until I finally managed to get a decent husband at 38, with such emphatic passion that by 17 I had learned to spread it out over a number of guys so that any single rejection would not entirely floor me. In that one sense only, I sort of envy these younger people. If only I had had a phone attached to my hide, I could have toned down my passion a bit by thumbing away at that instead.

Beyond that, however, I pity them. The one case I’ve witnessed in detail, a 35-year-old former student of mine, says she wants to marry, but apparently for one reason only: her parents are hoping she’ll finally fly the coop. Her idea of marriage is a rich guy, not too fat, please, who will provide her material security and nothing more. She has never dated, and looks down her nose at women who flirt.

Yes, a very sick culture. Capitalism will destroy any Nation that allows it to be transformed by the quest for profit at all costs. Luckily the young men (grass boys) are turning away from the money hungry women. The women will have to humble themselves, get out of the offices, and start acting feminine again if they want the men to come back.

And they System will have to become more humane. No more working 100 hour weeks and then staying out late drinking with office mates out of obligation. What kind of husband can such a man be? And what kind of marriage could survive that?

Luckily they can still recover and they are standing firm against the Globalist program of deracialization. Many Japanese have been awakened by Miss Japan’s prediction that they wont exist in a hundred years. They’ve looked into who is behind this person and pageant and they see the usual suspects. Japan is not going to accept millions of Blacks just to please her or them or Marxist hatemongers.

        Janos,

Ironically, the industry more guilty of the “standard 60 hour work week” than any other is none other than high tech. The most hypermodern industry is giving birth to a lot of things but CHILDREN isn’t one of them. It’s creating a feckless generation of masculinized women and girly, androgenized guys. I think the high tech crowd is a gigantic augury of our future of 1.5 child birth rates because of an increasing paucity of marriage and durable relationships.

Although “The Big Bang Theory” makes it seem as though a reality where nerds prosper is the actual reality, the actual reality is a lot more sobering i.e., the “quietly desperate” men written of by Thoreau although those men in Thoreau’s time were bored householders, not lonely geeks with Aspergers or ADHD. TV is the sickest outlet of mad dog capitalism because it suggests the existence of certain realities that never existed and never will exist.

Of course, which TV series will depict nerds and he-women as they actually are in real life i.e., doped up on meds, extremely lonely, and socially isolated? Every male character in “The Big Bang Theory” has a girlfriend and lives a clean, undrugged life. Nietzsche once said that “No one would ever write a true biography”. Equally, no producer is ever going to make a sitcom where the characters are on antidepressants or benzodiazepines and spend their work-exhausted free time playing video games or vacantly watching TV.

Our “culture”, as we refer to it euphemistically, appears to have a death wish that it is actively carrying out.

Yes, it’s very sad. There was such promise in technology. Such joy in the old World Fairs. But there wont be anymore of those: the future is here, the technology is not going to be used for human good, and the wealth is not going to be shared.

There is nothing like old age to free the mind and the tongue. It is so much easier to hate everyone and to try and do so equally. I have a number of relatives, younger ones, who are homosexual including a son. To a person (girls and guys) they are sickened by the exhibitionist behaviors of some homosexuals. We live in a culture of exhibitionism. Ego driven. Me first. Screw you. My feelings are trump. Agree or I sue. Blah, blah, blah. I will be glad if I am alive to see the Long Emergency show up in spades (no racial insinuations intended). To hell with it all!!!!!

    • Therian June 10, 2015 at 12:26 pm #

The very fact that you had to hastily add “no racial insinuations intended” shows that you have FEAR as a big motivator. If you were so afraid of any negative interpretations of the meaning of “spade” as you use it (in an old euphemism) then why not use a different word?

I, too, have known homosexuals who detest the “queen” stereotype and I actually agree with you about the ethos of the day. However, there are a lot of COVERT haters who live in places like my current town of Palo Alto, CA who have never sat down to a meal with a homosexual, a black, or a Mexican who preen their social images by their egalitarian self advertisements … safe in the knowledge that they would never be required to “put up or shut up” as regards their multi-culti all pervading love of gosh darned near everybody.

I’ve actually worked for organizations which feel or clothe the poor and there’s nothing more duplicitous than a LIBERAL when it comes to putting their efforts, and their monies, where their mouth is.

People don’t understand you because they don’t understand Ward Cleaver. Ward Cleaver only looked like a bumpkin but he could break heads and keep Blacks in line. Advanced Cultures produce Gentlemen who look and act gentle but can kill if need be. In contrast, we produce lots of men who try to look and act tough (to the unpracticed eye) but in reality are punks and cowards. Blacks can see right through them.

Look at Ted Williams: he didn’t care about baseball like the fans did. He was proudest of what he did in the war. Don’t do anything stupid, just get out of there. Take the truck and move to Beverly. Hills that is. Swimming pools. Movie stars.

In Paul Hendrickson’s book ‘Hemingway’s Boat’ interesting portrait of Gregory Hemingway MD, Ernest’s troubled youngest son, a transvestite who died under tragic circumstances on the side of the road in Miami in the late 90s.

There is a scene he describes of Gregory dressed to the nines with fishnet stockings, a string of pearls round his neck, a red dress and a wig, sitting in a cowboy bar in Montana where he practiced medicine, downing shots of whiskey with the blue collar locals, nobody paying much attention to the spectacle before them.

Hemingways were originally from Connecticut, had a farm in Plymouth `15 miles east of here. There are still a bunch around living in these small towns. Ernests branch left for Illinois in 1852, his greatgrandfather an employee of Terry Clock company headed west as a salesman. Here’s the thing, the suicides, the alcoholism, the tranvestites were 20th century afflictions. Hemingways came from Yorkshire to New Haven in the 1630s, Yales first graduate was a Hemingway. they were basically prosperous gentlemen farmers who held various local political positions in the towns they lived in. Ernests grandfather Anson was an officer in the Union Army and wrote a report on how to fight asymetric war from his experieces against Quantrills Raiders and bloody Bill Anderson in Missouri. The point is, the family didn’t begin to deteriorate until confronted by the pressures of living in the 20th century. Up till then they were steadfast prosperous Yankees, in short, Americans.

    Three Roles

Why the West Oligarchy inflates passions around homosexuals, trying to make them not only the norm, but a privileged minority, standing above heterosexuals? Why would they push the right of sexual perverts for adoption of children? After all, the vast majority of the rich and super-rich owners of the West are heterosexual white men who only occasionally allow themselves to fool around with men.

First, it is the role of distraction. Do not let the people to reflect on the true causes of crisis (and the real perpetrators), let them argue about the artificially created problem.

The second role: sexual deviants should be hateful of all, and hated by all, aggressive minority with privileges. Pederasts and lesbians are prepared for the role that was played once by Jews since the Dark Ages to about 1945. Of this minority the executive corporate offices and State bureaucracy will be formed. Let control apparatus consist of sexual perverts, pulling in their own kind, and hating the rest of the population.

And why is this happening? To get out of the crisis Europe and the US will have to carry out shock therapy. That is, the West will have to dismantle welfare state, cut social benefits and pensions, lower living standards. To carry out such a policy they need people, who hate the majority of the population and consider themselves a privileged “race”.

The third role: if all fails, then the anger of impoverished by “shock therapy” people will be directed at this minority. Similar how in the past it was directed against Jews. The same thing will happen here.

    • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 12:17 am #

One has not to go too far to see how the current Ukrainian government, of which about a third are sexual perverts, including the real Ukrainian President – the American Ambassador to Kiev Geoffrey Pyatt – are dealing with social shock therapy. They increased the utility payments (heat, electric, water) o be equal or even exceed what the majority of the people are pulling in in wages. At the same time the bill is being introduced in the Parliament to allow eviction for not paying utility bills.

Not to speak about merciless shelling of residential districts in Donetsk and Lugansk.

Just think about it, would a normal person vote for such bill or give troops an order to open artillery fire on civilians?

The most hypermodern industry is giving birth to a lot of things but CHILDREN isn’t one of them. It’s creating a feckless generation of masculinized women and girly, androgenized guys. I think the high tech crowd is a gigantic augury of our future of 1.5 child birth rates because of an increasing paucity of marriage and durable relationships. – Therian

    Therian,

You’re right, children ain’t one of them.

Ask yourself a simple question, who gets the chicks?

Consider the pickings from the female point of view. What I know about it is what women tell me, and because women lie like hell, what I know mostly is what I see with my own eyes.

What has evolution hard-wired into the female brain: she wants a mate that can protect and provide and a mate that has high status in the community. Her evolutionary conditioning tells her that the high status male will give her offspring a better chance at survival.

What confers high status? From the pre-agricultural context I would say size, strength, agility, fighting ability, hunting ability, an aggressive demeanor. The woman looks for height, weight and a square, jutting, resolute jaw. And a man that has a say in what goes on, who won’t be subject to aggression from other men because the others are afraid of him.

So what has she actually got? No really, look at the average modern American/European male from the gal’s perspective: white, clammy, looking in the buff like a plucked chicken, lying beside her in the sack as flaccid as a boned fish. It’s a joke. No matter the other sterling qualities Mr Right brings to the domestic abode, he’d find more wetness drilling Death Valley salt-flats. Because he just does not turn her crank.

How did things come to this? I keep hearing about female sexual dys-function and lack of desire. It’s put in the context of the stresses of modern life. And maybe there’s something to that.

But, I think there’s something else. What has modern life allowed? From the long time-stream of human existence, the types of male characteristics and abilities that make him function well in a settled agricultural and high-tech/industrial society don’t necessarily make him sexually/viscerally appealing to the female. Her innate wants-needs have origins deep in the wilds of pre-history.

So what have we got? The large caloric and protein surpluses from the last ten thousand years and especially the last couple hundred permitted the survival of large numbers of males that would, from the perspective of pre-agricultural times, be sub-standard.

And that’s putting it mildly, the techno geek especially is laughable, the Achilles, the Maximus in that gang are as scarce as hen’s teeth. Too small, too skinny, too weak, can’t fight. Sheer size and muscular strength may not matter as much in our modern way of life. But so what, that doesn’t matter, the female wants what she wants.

And what she gets isn’t what she wants.

So, to answer the question, who gets the chicks? See above. Natural selection is doing its thang and so, for a great number of modern men, no sweet poon-tang. Their kind are on a one way trip to the evolutionary garbage dump.

As Nietzsche said, Do you approach Woman? Forget not thy whip. To which Betrand Russell replied, nine out of then women could have taken the whip away from him. A witty response since true in his case as he was frail. But it does not change the principle. Russell himself said in regard to Bernard Shaw, that witty men often mistake humor for wisdom.

A frail man like Nietzsche must use the whip of spirit in other words. And some few women will respond – if such a philosopher has gained reknown in the world. Because women are of the world. As Rodin’s secretary Ludivico said, no woman wanted Rodin before he attained fame. But no woman could resist him afterwards. Yet the Man was the same, in both his talent and personal magnetism. I admit there may be a very rare few exceptions among women, but no man can rely on ever meeting one. Such a woman must have her own standards of taste and understand genius on her own – not only before the crowd but before the experts as well. That means she must have at least a streak on genius as well. And genius is rarer among women – much rarer.

The East Asians don’t have that much dimorphism between the sexes – far less than Blacks or Whites. Thus they must rely more on cultural and personal factors (whips of spirit) to maintain polarity and masculine dominance. A small man can be impetuous and of course, a man’s wealth is his beauty even as a woman’s beauty is her wealth. Yukio Mishima raged at the Post-War Japan, the Westernized, uni-sexual couples he saw necking in the park, dressed almost the same and the same size. He knew it spelled disaster for his people.

        Janos,

In feminist circles Shakespeare is considered about as lovable as an ogre. In the Elizabethan era his depictions of Lear’s daughters, Goneril and Regan, stirred up quite a rhetorical fracas even in those non-PC days.

For those not familiar with “King Lear”, those daughters were to inherit from the King as long as they showed allegiance/love to him. Goneril is married to the Duke of Albany and her sister Regan is married to the Duke of Cornwall. Both sisters vie for daddy’s power as his senescence gets to the point where he can no longer exercise power. They want their own husbands to get ALL the power. It’s an age-old paradigm of women using powerful men to get status and access to the reins of power.

At the end of “Lear”, Goneril, who often gossips throughout the play with her sister about how bonkers the old man is getting, poisons Regan and kills her. Of course times have changed but biological imperative hasn’t changed one iota. It has just changed its socially apparent manifestations. Of course, the intellectual women here will object but they, themselves, would be an exception in any era so this is NOT a slur on them.

I have two friends in Tempe, AZ who have platonic female friends who claim to be “feminists” yet these two guys complain that BOTH of their platonic female friends hook up with guys with the means to take care of them. Just goes to how you that the line of philosophical patter people give as a “cover story” is often way out of line with their modus operandi.

    Brighton Beach Rumors

    1. Offensive of Ukrainian armed forces under Mariinka has been carefully scheduled to coincide with G-7 meeting and was to bring very impressive results, but instead the impressive results were demonstrated by some secret Russian Multiple Rocket Launcher systems (code-name Pinocchio?). Made Americans remember something secret, applied in 1969 on the Sino-Soviet border against Chinese Army when in half hour was allegedly destroyed the invading army of a million Chinese. They even remembered Colonel General Losik who applied it despite the clear prohibition of the Politburo of the USSR.

    2. Financial war with the US began about a month ago, when the Russian State Duma quietly adopted a law according to which the banks are forced to take their client’s mortgages denominated in dollars and to recalculate the outstanding amounts in rubles, but not at the current rate, but at the rate at the time of signing (much lower).

That is the de facto amounts to nationalization of the banking sector, which had previously been just a subsidiary of American banks.

    3. Director of Russian Think Tank came to United States from Moscow and strongly hinted that he was sent to deliver the message to the American elites: put Hillary in the White House and prepare for nuclear war with Russia.

    Hey Janos,

Did you just return from a Bund meeting where you were given just one talking point (i.e. group ripe for disparagement) for the coming week: the Elite? This ill-defined group has been the subject of 7 of your posts in less than a day and a half.

And to clear up a (‘nother) fallacy that you apparently pulled out of your imagination/ass, namely that decathletes are not that big, here is what a Google search turns up: Decathlete average height is 6′ 3.5″ and weight 192 lbs. This site lists Bruce Jenner as 6’ 2″ and 194 lbs. He, apparently, liked women well enough to marry 3 of them, all good looking, the last/current being Kris Kardashian.

    • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 3:22 pm #

Bund meeting? That is one of the first charges you laid against me years ago. It’s as if my years of effort with you have born no fruit or never happened. I refuse to believe that, pretend as you will. I know that you now know that Blacks are a sub-race from many points of view.

Ok, Conspiracy: Do you believe a priori that such things are impossible? Why? Because the Elite have said so? Or because the NY Times (a thoroughly corrupt organization, see last weeks post by Mr Kunstler) says so? Yes? Ok, you explain why Europe is allowing Islam to take over. And no, economics doesn’t explain it as most of these countries have double digit unemployment and have for decades. Some very powerful people hate Western Culture. You may disagree with me on who, but not the basic fact. Or do you hold that it’s all happening by “chance”. That’s a real whopper. Do you think China would let itself be taken by Islam by chance? And mark: if you say to Liberals who hold to the chance hypothesis, well now we know so let’s end it – they will typically defend the invasion. So how is it that chance? It certainly isn’t now, in the present however it all started.

Defend your outrageous belief system or admit defeat.

Your point about Jenner makes more sense. I didn’t know how big he was – I was merely going with what the poster said about him not being that big and linking that with special force guys. That being said, six foot and 190 isn’t that big, not for pro athletes. Even you are bigger than that and you aren’t very athletic.

Or use America to discuss your Anti-Conspiracy hypothesis. Do you really believe that the Mexican invasion isn’t a Conspiracy? Or that it is by chance and not design? This should be fun. Enjoy trying to get out from under the mack truck you’ve rolled onto yourself. The Eye of Clusterfuck Nation is upon you.

Boy, I seem to have a real talent for pushing your buttons. I couldn’t help but notice that this week’s cause celebre for you is “the Elite” and since I am heavily into The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich I thought of the word “bund.”

I’m unable to address all these issues you mention that you consider to be my “outrageous belief system” since their are so few things that I believe in on way or the other.

Calm down big guy, I enjoy your posts.

        • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 4:44 pm #

I can’t fully accept that. Everyone is a philosopher – whether they will or not. The question then becomes are they are a good one or not. You did challenge me – and then backed down since you couldn’t back it up. But you still believe what you did before – the status quo, NY Times view of reality. Why? Because you’ve never had to curiousity or virility to explore the question or question the pre-packaged answers they provide. Thus your position is untenable from an intellectual point of view. Contrast this with your view on financial matters – which are both deep and well thought out – with your own worked out individual strategies.

Hitler and the far right conspired against the Weimar State and overthrew it. Or is that “conspiracy theory”? It only becomes “conspiracy theory” when the Jews and Globalists are implicated. What’s the problem? It really is that simple, but Whites are too objectively focused to understand cognitive warfare. Strangely though, in their personal lives they do. If you met a person who always felt sorry for themselves and played the victim card, you would get the hell away from them. Yet people accept it politically and socially from Blacks, Muslims, Gypsies, and Jews. Why the disconnect? Don’t answer – contemplate it for awhile and get back to me.

My question is: If Brucey is convicted of vehicular homicide, which he should be,(due to his negligence) where will he be incarcerated? In a male prison or a woman’s. I think things will not go well for him either way. He was obviously at fault in the accident where he killed that woman.

You’re really a cad, Q.. If Janos’ latest whipping boy is “the elite” you certainly don’t do a searching analysis to prove that they do NOT exist. I don’t think Janos or anybody else thinks it’s some sort of a tight club with membership fees but you’re almost putting words in his mouth to that effect.

In real life where most of us live, there most certainly IS an elite even if it’s an amorphous, multi-affiliated group. They LIVE with each other in rich suburbs like Atherton, CA or Belvedere, MD or Shaker Heights, OH. They don’t do everything together or belong to the same clubs but they DO cling to each other (rather than “the rabble”) like any other category of people.

The “Bund” meeting shit is just your way of being another potshot artist. Janos might make mistakes from time to time but his forbearance in dealing with the likes of you is demonstrably GREATER than your forbearance with him.

Why this pathetic Jenner story is ‘lionozed’ and declared ‘brave’ is beyond imagination. – Paulo

    ================

Your use of the words “lionized” and “brave” indicate you may have read a particular NY Times article a couple of days ago (containing those two words) which had another angle to it I haven’t seen mentioned here.

In an interview Bruce Jenner said that women’s brains are different than men’s (or words to that effect) and Jenner was widely lionized for his bravery for his views and coming out as transgender. By contrast, a few years ago, Larry Summers, economist and big honcho at Harvard was crucified by the media and run out of town covered in tar and feathers for speculating that men’s and women’s brains might be different. I always thought Summers got a raw deal for saying what, to me, is so obviously true.

As I put it to a male co-worker who was perpetually having relationship difficulties (because he acted as though women were just men with different plumbing) “women are SO different from men that they may as well be a different species.”

    141. On an Houre-glasse

MY Life is measur’d by this glasse, this glasse
By all those little Sands that thorough passe.
See how they presse, see how they strive, which shall
With greatest speed and greatest quicknesse fall.
See how they raise a little Mount, and then 5
With their owne weight doe levell it agen.
But when th’ have all got thorough, they give o’re
Their nimble sliding downe, and move no more.
Just such is man whose houres still forward run,
Being almost finisht ere they are begun; 10
So perfect nothings, such light blasts are we,
That ere w’are ought at all, we cease to be.
Do what we will, our hasty minutes fly,
And while we sleep, what do we else but die?
How transient are our Joyes, how short their day! 15
They creepe on towards us, but flie away.
How stinging are our sorrowes! where they gaine
But the least footing, there they will remaine.
How groundlesse are our hopes, how they deceive
Our childish thoughts, and onely sorrow leave! 20
How reall are our feares! they blast us still,
    Still rend us, still with gnawing passions fill;
How senselesse are our wishes, yet how great!
With what toile we pursue them, with what sweat!
Yet most times for our hurts, so small we see, 25
Like Children crying for some Mercurie.
This gapes for Marriage, yet his fickle head
Knows not what cares waite on a Marriage bed.
This vowes Virginity, yet knowes not what
Lonenesse, griefe, discontent, attends that state. 30
Desires of wealth anothers wishes hold,
And yet how many have been choak’t with Gold?
This onely hunts for honour, yet who shall
Ascend the higher, shall more wretched fall.
This thirsts for knowledge, yet how is it bought 35
With many a sleeplesse night and racking thought?
This needs will travell, yet how dangers lay
Most secret Ambuscado’s in the way?
These triumph in their Beauty, though it shall
Like a pluck’t Rose or fading Lillie fall. 40
Another boasts strong armes, ‘las Giants have
By silly Dwarfes been drag’d unto their grave.
These ruffle in rich silke, though ne’re so gay,
A well plum’d Peacock is more gay then they.
Poore man, what art! A Tennis ball of Errour, 45
A Ship of Glasse toss’d in a Sea of terrour,
Issuing in blood and sorrow from the wombe,
Crauling in teares and mourning to the tombe,
How slippery are thy pathes, how sure thy fall,
How art thou Nothing when th’ art most of all! 50

Indeed John, we all could ask America (and ourselves, spiritually):

How are thou Nothing when th’art most of all?

Why grotesque? The Republicans boast a sterling record of sexual disorientation. Unless you are being partisan, in which case see Pucker’s comment directly above.

    • Therian June 10, 2015 at 1:06 pm #

Even more grotesque than Republicans are the legions of lily white Democrats in places like Palo Alto, CA who belong to the rentier class which is squeezing business owners and renters while depicting themselves to their peers as lovers of the little guy.

The few honest Republicans who are around are among the horrible US political scene’s more admirable men. Hillary, the consummate Wall Street insider, trying to campaign as a champion for the white lower middle class is typical of what liberals have become i.e., duplicitous and dangerous assholes. I used to be one but I wised up.

  90. elysianfield June 9, 2015 at 6:05 pm #

I should like to submit that this site makes me a bit crazy (crazier). Any knowledgeable individual can see massive corruption in the political, financial, and social systems, both in the US and Global…and my 69 years have failed to visualize , by any but unusually draconian means, solutions to the problems we face.

I try to counter this perspective with the knowledge that as men age, they become cynical, and generally negative regarding society, the younger generations, and life in general. Keeping this perspective in mind, I, during quiet times, can faintly hear the hoof-beats of the 5 Horsemen of the Apocalypse, bearing down from the not-too-distant future…I, I think I can hear them now….

Either you are fucking with us( because I know you are wicked smart) or you just really don’t fucking get it! Being gay is NOT A CHOICE just as being straight is not a choice. You were born with a prewired brain for chicks and gays were born with prewired brains for…well you know!

    Janos writes:

“My Father and his friends used to pull turbans off Sikhs, run from them, and then turn suddenly and knock them out. Or at least that’s one of the stories he told us.”

If true your father was no different than the black assholes/thugs who engage in “The Knockout Game”. What a horrendous thing, to inflict physical pain/injury on another human being simply because they are racially, religiously different : the “Other People” also bleed and weep too, you know.

But then again your father was no different than a lot of Americans back then, including a few of my own relatives. The type of people who still derided “The Japs” decades after the war was over.

And you want to take us back to that?

    • Janos Skorenzy June 9, 2015 at 9:24 pm #

Yes, he was a brute. But he also defended his sisters and friends against other brutes. And there is no Nation without such men. I often contemplate this. I’m not like him – but neither do I have the physique for it so perhaps the temptation isn’t so great? The world is full of guys like Stel and my Dad – guys who would risk their life to save mine but who would also cheerfully break my neck if told to.

Face the simple facts: you would give America back to the Indians, back to brutes of a different race and culture who would never accept you as an equal. You multi-culturalism is a chimaera, a faery tale for big children who never grew up. At least our Culture has a higher side. The Mexican, does not – at least not the one that’s coming here. The best Indians are with Whites against the invasion from the South.

You need to fess up. Watch reruns of Fess Parker as Daniel Boone. Your Scots-Irish ancestors were amazing men. Be proud of them despite their limitations. I don’t say nor have I ever said because of them. I never promote brutality for its own sake. Look at Burma: the Buddhists are driving the Muslims into the Sea – a victory for free men everywhere.

      • Buck Stud June 9, 2015 at 10:23 pm #

        • Buck Stud June 9, 2015 at 10:37 pm #

Actually, in retrospect, Fess Parker doesn’t quite look like “A World Made By Hand ” material now does he? IOW, your imagination is running away with you again as in ‘the older I get the better I was’ ; or even more apropos, ‘that fake Hollywood set and ridiculous Ed Ames as a Native American didn’t look so fake when I was a kid’.

You have an amazing ability to take a simple response and twist it beyond recognition. And how can you lionize (a popular word this week) the antics of white “brutes” while denouncing “The Knockout Game”?

Right is right, right? You’re not sure? Brush up on Kant; maybe that will help.

          • Janos Skorenzy June 10, 2015 at 3:38 am #

My Dad and your Pa might have been brutes, but they were our brutes. Inability to take one’s own side is the essence of the disease known as Liberalism. Immoral? Survival is the first morality as Jefferson. All other questions of morality imply that you are alive to have such problems, whether as an individual or a society.

You need to conduct metta (love) meditation on your family and probably ancestor worship as well. You owe everything you have and are to these people – whom you hate. How unhealthy can you get?

          • Therian June 10, 2015 at 1:11 pm #

I think Janos’ reply shows a great deal of philosophical honesty. I must say that he comes off as more human than most posters here. White liberals come off as taking everybody’s side BUT that of their own group. The irony is that in town’s like upscale Palo Alto and similar Democrat-dominated towns in the USA, is predominantly white and most of those whites have never sat down to a dinner or gone on an outing with any person of color.

Buck, I was once a progressive liberal myself until I saw that, horrible and venal as most Republicans can be, their behavior is consistent with their ideology. With liberals, their behavior is often 180 degrees apart from their way of living their life.

          • Janos Skorenzy June 10, 2015 at 3:56 pm #

No, I said “guys like Stel and my Dad” in terms of physique and temperament. But for all his testosterone, he never laid a hand on us or my mother, even though he might have been tempted. He had his gentle side.

Jewish, eh? That’s a heavy trip too. Lots of incest and competition. One Jewish friend told me about her childhood dinners – everyone talking at once trying to get and hold the floor! Good training for being lawyers no doubt – but I can hold my own and more with the best of you.

You’ve never struck me as compassionate. More like a Susan Sontag, “Whites are the cancer of humanity” type Jew.

My son told me he is transgender more than a year ago. It has been extremely difficult for her. Still is, but not as horrific as it would have been years ago.

I do not read about Jenner and others because I despise the role of celebrities in nearly every aspect of American life. Can’t say that I’m too concerned with the putative erosion in traditional gender roles, whatever the hell they are supposed to be. The sexualization of every conceivable commodity is sick, regardless of flavor.

I’m happy that society no longer forces transgender humans to live in the shadows. Of all the important issues threatening the world, allowing transgender people to live honestly ain’t among them. I’m sorry if it bother Jimmy.

Don’t let him do anything irreversible until you (and him) have looked at all the facts – especially the ones the media are hiding form us. Many post-ops regret it. And the percentage of post-op suicide is like 25 times the normal rate. There was a Swedish documentary made about this. Don’t know if its been subtitled but maybe you could track it down. For now, start here. This guy was abused by his grandmother who dressed him as a girl. He later had the operation, regretted it, returned to a maimed masculinity and even married.

JHK has old fashioned views about homosexuality, and that is how I explain this post to myself. For years people like me who were attracted NOT to women but to members of our own sex were considered mentally ill or psychologically screwed up in some way, which is no longer the accepted view; neither is the view, evidently still held by JHK, that being gay is a “choice.” (Not sure why I would have chosen the lonely and sometimes fearful childhood and adolescence I endured, much less a “lifestyle” (what does this mean, exactly?) that subjected me to the risk of death many times in the 1980’s — why would ANYBODY? What exactly are the alleged advantages to being gay that would cause a person not attracted to other men to live as though he were? — in other words, how do you choose to like something? Either you like it or you don’t, hence the term PREFERENCE). Thus, while I ordinarily agree — and applaud — JHK’s every word, in today’s case I can’t say I do or can, since I disagree with his basic assumptions about homosexuality. I will dismiss them as he undoubtedly would dismiss my own views on the tiny country called Israel which he believes is important because he is Jewish — quite understandable, of course, but not important to me. HOWEVER, his views about the media feeding frenzy about Bruce Jenner, etc., are spot on, as are his views about the schizo dichotomy between Puritanism and pornography that characterizes contemporary America, and his view that the fact that we are focusing on this issue at all says everything you know about this fucked-up country.

US senators call for currency retaliation over China hacking

The International Monetary Fund should hold off including China’s currency in a policy basket in retaliation for hacking attacks on the US, two senators have demanded.

In a letter on Tuesday to Christine Lagarde, the IMF’s managing director, Charles Schumer and Lindsey Graham said an attack on the records of 4m US government employees that had been blamed on China deserved to be punished.

    http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/6fecb9d8-0ebc-11e5-848e-00144feabdc0.html#axzz3ceQIM0rg

IMF is obliged to punish China for the recent cyber-attacks against US government agencies despite the fact that evidence of Chinese guilt nobody saw.

The US hawks are trying to put a squeeze on the IMF, and because a suitable maid for Christine Lagarde has not been found, it is necessary to operate using other methods.

Hence the two scenarios, the probability of each I do not presume to assess:

    1. The IMF is forced under US completely: the speed with which the world is approaching a massive conflict will increase many times

    2. Lagarde and its allies retain control of the IMF: the low-intensity hybrid conflict continues.

When’s Caitlyn Jenner — authentic women that she is — gonna start popping out babies, good healthy American babies to propagate the race.

Well, its begun here, ‘Black Lives Matter’ protesters, unemployed negroes, stopping traffic in the middle of the day, at the ‘Isle of Safety’, the main transportation intersection in the City of Hartford, causing massive traffic jams, preventing mostly white office worker suburbanites from getting out of the city and to their homes. It won’t be long before what’s left of the downtown Insurance Companies begin to pack up and leave. Why stay? Next step, walking out onto the freeways and stopping traffic there, dragging people out of their cars. Wait and see. Then you’ll know its on.

Speaking of the Queers, read they make up about 1.7% of the population, in other words a might small minority now calling the shots. Where’s that power come from? We’ll see how long this state of affairs lasts.

Jebbie versus Hillary might be the postmodern political era’s greatest comedy ever. If that’s what we get it will be like the two sides of the comedy/tragedy medal running against each other. The Clintons are fast friends with the Bushes and Willie and Dubya routinely show up at pro sporting events together.

If that’s what transpires in the Presidential Election it will truly be an omen of the completion of a unified political oligarchy in the United States. The “combatants” will probably clink champaign glasses with each other before, during, and after the faux “contest”.

Bloomberg: The shale oil boom that turned the U.S. into the world’s largest fuel exporter and brought $3 gasoline back to America’s pumps is grinding to a halt.

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-06-08/america-s-shale-oil-boom-grinding-to-halt-as-u-s-forecasts-drop

Even EIA – US Energy Agency – recognizes that the production of shale oil in the United States began to fall. The situation in which the number of rigs fell by 50%, while production allegedly remained at the same level or even growing, could not go on. Even the most ardent supporters of the American oil industry ended the arguments explaining this gap. Now, the state statistics is slowly coming to a recognition of the real state of affairs.

By the way, an unexpected drop in US oil inventory by 6.5 million barrels for the week is from the same opera.

Hello, Shale Fall! Come quickly, Shale winter!

After the liquidation of American shale companies (they are now forced to squeeze all they can out of wells for which they have already paid), you can expect smooth (or not so) rise in oil prices.

    • lsjogren June 10, 2015 at 9:28 am #

I believe in peak oil. I also believe that the development of unconventional techniques that allow previously unaccessible oil & gas resources to be developed has led to a delay in peak oil, probably for a few decades, athough this is a hunch and it could be a lot longer or shorter. But there clearly is a delay.

And I also believe that some of my fellow believers in peak oil are so desperate to see the theory prove true that they predict it will happen in an unrealistically short timespan. And, to aid in that belief they tend to interpret all news about the fossil fuel industry into proof of the imminence of peak oil, even news that actually argues that peak oil may occur later than we think.

And the above news is one example. The fact that rig count is down is due to the low price of oil and gas right now. Which is caused by the current ABUNDANCE of those products. So the fact the rig count is down and the production of the shale oil/gas is slowing down is actually a sign of the fact that the supply of those unconventional resources is so big that they have driven prices low enough to slow down the development of those resources. If they were more scarce, the economy could easily handle quite a bit higher prices than $3 for natural as and $60 per barrel for oil. They were a lot higher before when the economy was ok. Now if oil got to $150-200 per barrel that probably would be a considerable depressant on the economy. But $100 would not. The economy did ok at $100 per barrel.

So my message is: Just because peak oil is inevitable doesn’t mean that everything related to fossil fuel production is evidence of peak oil. In fact the shale gas/oil revolution itself is not evidence of peak oil/gas. It is evidence of the fact that when we are able to access some economically viable higher hanging fruit in terms of the oil and gas that exists in the ground, then it pushes the timeline of peak oil a little further in the future. And the fact that rig count is down is another fact that points in that direction. Production is slowing not because prices are prohibitively high for our existing economy to function, but rather because prices are so low that there’s no profit in developing new wells right now.

I am 62 years old and I believe the unconventional oil/gas development techniques have put peak oil enough further in the future that I will not see it in my lifetime, I will probably not even see the flattening out on the final plateau before the historic reversal of oil and gas production that will mark the beginning of the end of the fossil fuel era.

I think some people are so eager to be proven right about peak oil that they see absolutely everything as a sign that it is imminent. A prudent person judges facts at face value and does not try to shoehorn everything into being proof of their pre-existing beliefs.

I am not talking about peak oil, I am talking about the end of American lies and rigging the oil markets with bullshit data.

      • seawolf77 June 10, 2015 at 10:32 am #

Some interesting observations. Yes I agree the timing is difficult, but the premise is sound. Shale oil are the oil fields that sat until price rose to justify their use. Now do you want oil independence or cheap oil? American oil or Saudi oil? Saudi oil from here on out and for the last 60 years has set the market, with the exception of the Great Moderation. That collapsed the American industry and brought down the Soviet Union. Can Saudi Arabia pump more than 10 million barrels a day? That is the big question. I think the answer is no, or only slightly more…maybe 12 million. But 15 million, no way.

        • BackRowHeckler June 11, 2015 at 7:28 am #

Seawolf, if ISIS gets into those Arabian oilfields, they’ll be pumping 0 barrels per day.

Cable News Drops Everything for White House Briefing Room Evacuation
“We have to evacuate,” came an off-camera announcement during a briefing by White House press secretary Josh Earnest, setting a bizarre story into motion, as an apparent security situation forced journalists to evacuate the White House Briefing Room just after 2 p.m. ET Tuesday. (TVNewser)

Reporters present at the event said they were taken out of the basement-level James S. Brady press briefing room at the West Wing at about 2:10 p.m. and led across the street to the South Court auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. Earnest and his aides went into another section of the building, reporters said. (WaPo)

Earnest later confirmed the evacuation was a result of a bomb threat being called in which directly targeted the room. Earlier on Tuesday, two Senate office buildings were evacuated after reports of suspicious packages were called in. Authorities gave an all-clear less than an hour later. It is unclear if the incidents are related. (Newsweek)

Once White House reporters were back in their seats, the questions to Earnest about evacuation protocol began. Jonathan Karl of ABC News had a very pointed question/allegation: “Hey Josh… who covered up the cameras in this room? ‘Cause the cameras were covered up or pointed down. These were cameras that are owned by news organizations. I’m just wondering, we were all escorted out so there wasn’t anybody with our news organizations, but somebody cut off our ability to see what was going on in this room by turning the cameras down. Who did that and why?” (WaPo / Erik Wemple)

First oil from Iran will start coming to Russia next week

It is reported that Tehran is preparing for the opening of three new lines of commercial maritime traffic across the Caspian Sea to deliver export goods to and from the Russian Federation

Iran declared its willingness to supply up to 500 thousand barrels of oil per day (25 million tons per year) in exchange for Russian goods and equipment. In particular they talk about the deliveries of grain, high-tech weaponry, construction machinery and Russian participation in the construction of energy infrastructure of Iran.

    1. Russia gets control over 10% of Iranian oil.
    2. The increase in Russian exports and market share in Iran
    3. Zero dollars in settlements – zero cut to Americans

Maybe that’s why Jebbie announced that Russia must be European and end it’s national interest manifested by a strong leader.

A prudent person judges facts at face value and does not try to shoehorn everything into being proof of their pre-existing beliefs.

    nicely put

Denmark is currently producing 3,998MW of electricity, of which wind+solar are providing, respectively:

    1,657MW
    358MW

ergo Denmark is getting HALF of all its electricity, right now, from these two renewable, pollution-free sources.

Spain is, right now, getting 17% of its electricity from the WIND.
Ireland is, right now, getting 5% of its electricity from the WIND.
Iceland is, right now, getting 98% of its electricity from falling WATER.

It is fairly easy to see that this is having a substantial impact towards mitigating the end of fossil fuels, whenever that may occur.

The recent 100 billion+ barrel discovery of oil in the UK will also push out that even decades further, as will other mega discoveries, bolstered by improvements in technology that allow ever greater recovery rates.

So you can all cheer up – even the oil producing OPECcers know they’ll be leaving oil under the desert floor, and are preparing accordingly.

If you have something of GENERAL interest here then why not give voice to that so that WE can see if YOU need “help”? Otherwise, such baiting as you’re doing is useless.

            Therian,

“If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time you’re well aware that most of my posts address real issues.” Well T, this is just not true. It reflects a very misinformed view of yourself. You present yourself as self-aware. Your posts address very unreal issues. I do believe however that they are real to you. Thus the discordance.

“If you have something of GENERAL interest here then why not give voice to that so that WE can see if YOU need “help”?”

Soooo, it appears that I need to cease revealing the comments made by you two philosophers as indicating a need for helpful improvement, and instead invite you two to review my comments so that YOU can determine if I need help. What Jenner does or doesn’t do has no affect on my life. Climate change, banker criminality, lying politicians, adulterated food, and the Pentagon “misplacing” $2 trillion certainly have an affect. When the media spends days talking about Jenner to the exclusion of everything more important, it’s just more proof America is too fucking stupid to live.

You challenged the Big Dog, and I gave you the thrashing you had coming. You ran away and now are in the corner licking your wounds and obsessing about grammar – not doing the contemplation I requested you to do. You have the capacity: you realized the truth about race and immigration. Now you can realize the truth about “conspiracy theories” if you just put your mind to it. We’ll leave the identity of the Elite conspirators for another time and just focus on the reality of conspiracy per se.

Here’s a hint: You can’t study anything without having a theory about it. So once you realize conspiracies are real (and let’s face it, they are existentially inescapable, any three people will have two talking about the absent third), you will form a theory which you will then attempt to prove. Thus knowledge marches forward. The answer to bad conspiracy theory? Good ones.

Take a community of three, a, b, c. a and b will talk about c. a and c will talk about b. b and c will talk about a. Such talks in the absence of the third may, in any case, be the beginning of covert action against the third. A conspiracy, a breathing together. It could be for a surprise birthday party or assassination.

      • Therian June 10, 2015 at 5:03 pm #

        Janos,

You just reminded me of R.D. Laing’s definition of “family” from his book “The Politics of the Family” i.e., “A family is a conspiracy of those who believe themselves to be its members.”

Your post is very perspicacious and is a very searching and unique analysis of the very idea of “conspiracy”. Many incontrovertible conspiracies have happened in the clear light of day like the Bilderberger Group and, back in the 1960s, The Club of Rome. The Bilderberger Group annual meetings have a level of security that extends several BLOCKS from their meetings.

The President of the United States’ security blanket is actually LESS than that of these people.

        • Janos Skorenzy June 10, 2015 at 5:40 pm #

Have you read Vonnegut? Many families are in fact, Grand Falloons, much like the group called “hoosiers” or now even “America”. The Karass is the true family, clan, tribe, nation. Usually serious medical conditions and death reveal to which is which in terms of families. Mine was more of a Grand Falloon I’m afraid, except for my brother.

Ed Abbey, the great Environmentalist and proto-White Nationalist, said much the same. He said of his Appalachian Scots Irish clan: Did we love each other? Oh sure. When we weren’t drunk or knocking each other around. He naturally assumed every family was like this. He as amazed at his third wife’s (if memory serves) family – he came to realize they really and deeply loved each other.

One of the few survivors of Jonestown said that he knew the Jones was a fraud but he stayed because of the closeness. He had grown up in the ghetto and had believed that was the whole of life. He said he felt like the biggest fool in the world when he came to a place that people really cared. Obviously that trust was betrayed and one wonders what he thinks now about life. He survived by lying down and pretending he was dead. Those who otherwised refused the kool aid were machined gunned.

So in terms of Vonnegut? Perhaps some cults pretend to be Karasses or start out that way and then change. As Tolkien said, even Sauron was once beautiful and good. And many of the biggest Democrat Politicians were once enamoured of Jones and his work with the poor. Maybe that was the beginning of his corruption?

          • dannyboy June 10, 2015 at 6:51 pm #

I have to hand it to JHK for sifting through an enormous amount of intellectual hazardous waste which accumulates on this blog like so much snow on a March day in Minnesota. It’s not easy.

    Anyway, back to the article.

I completely agree with the point about the dichotomy in society between puritan/pornographic extremes. I’d like to add that it fits in with much of the rest of American society; “search & destroy” vs. ‘democratization’ in regards to US foreign policy, or very vocal anti-gay religious leaders who are caught in gay trysts themselves, a financial system of the “free market” which takes government bailouts. There seems to be a very deep, corrupt, and hypocritical nature behind much of US society today. This is particularly sensitive with the enormity and multifarious amounts of problems which not just the US is facing, but the rest of the world. Major deficits in fresh water supplies, rare minerals, affordable energy sources, arable lands, etc. etc. the list goes on — are becoming known and taxing weak infrastructures and systems.
So, the denial & deceptive nature which the US is engaged is only deceiving itself.

So how do you feel about Israel deporting Black African refugees? You’re not a hypocrite are you? (like we really don’t know!)

        • dannyboy June 10, 2015 at 7:39 pm #

          Janos,

I am not a hypocrite when I say that you are so f-ing nuts, that there’s no sense in your words.

Must have a lot of love in your life.

          • Janos Skorenzy June 10, 2015 at 7:51 pm #

You haven’t answered one question I’ve posed. You have no desire for debate much less conversation. Pure attack. America has been under this kind of attack from Jews and your White Liberal Dupe allies for generations. It used to be much more subtle though. You represent a new chapter in the war – one you cannot win.

            Janos,

I have replied to EVERY post you sent me. You preface your “question” with “You’re not a hypocrite are you? (like we really don’t know!)”

            some conversation starter!

Get out much? Talk to any real people?

            Janos,

I have answered the questions within your posts. Most recently I provided the name of the speaker of the words “Nuck, Nuck, Nuck”.

You, on the other hand have NOT responded to ANY of my questions. If you review my posts (that begin with “Janos” and end with a question mark; all meant to make it easy for you to understand) you can see that you answered none.

As for my knowledge of Set Theory, I am a University trained Mathematician. Another of your misguided ‘insights’.

I wish JHK would banish you. You’re just a stalker. Q reinforces you because he doesn’t have discriminating wisdom. Look Q, this is the LAST type of poster you should be urging on. If he has specific issues to raise about Janos’ posts, he should raise them but to say a hundred times that Janos has no live in his life is worse than useless.

Would YOU want a pest to follow you around in this way? I guarantee you that if Dannyboy was pestering you in this way I’d be just as vociferous in asking for his banishment. It’s the principle of the thing.

        • dannyboy June 11, 2015 at 5:41 pm #

          T,

Once again you raise “the principle of the thing” as a barrier to debate. I understand that you would want me silenced, making yours the voice of truth. But no, things do not work as you desire.

I do suspect that this is a reason for your hatred. There is usually some truth that you can’t bear. Try putting your fingers in you ears and say “la, la, la” for the rest of your waking life. This is one solution to your issue.

          • Therian June 12, 2015 at 9:30 am #

I only say that you’re a pox on the blog because you don’t make general points for the edification of ALL members of CFN. You’re just a stalker of people who you’ve deemed politically incorrect. How is that enhancing the blog? It’s a rhetorical question.

Not at all. Having posters like Dannyboy who have nothing to say but who stalk people … now THAT is a “drain, a liability, on this blog”.

Yes, Janos and I, and to some extent BackRowHeckler and a couple others are “racist” by our unmitigated gall in quoting basic statistics about the crime, educational achievement, and social state of the black community in the United States. As we all know, it does everybody a whole lot of good to utterly deny simple realities [sic].

You, Frankiti, can continue grooming your social appearance by writing multiculti praises and singing “Kumbaya” but it ain’t gonna change YOUR reality or anyone else’s one iota.

Conspiracy | Define Conspiracy at Dictionary.com

    dictionary.reference.com/browse/conspiracy

an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons; plot. 3. a combination of persons for a secret, unlawful, or evil purpose: He joined the conspiracy to overthrow the government.

  124. Q. Shtik June 10, 2015 at 11:38 pm #

Conspiracy according to Janos and the Urban Dictionary:

    Urban Dictionary: conspiracy

Everything that’s ever happened was a conspiracy, covered up by the government. … Definition cannot be released because the government is keeping it a secret.

And it’s not just Janos, every barfly at the sports bar will tell you that every fight ever fought was fixed.

    • Janos Skorenzy June 10, 2015 at 11:48 pm #

Ok, I grant you I changed the meaning a little to emphasize only the secrecy and the ubiquitous nature of conspiracy and not the value of the secret being planned. Good catch. At least you’re thinking. That’s all I want. Now riddle me this batman: why do the Bilderbergers replace entire hotel staffs with their own staff? I mean if the secrets aren’t horrific, why bother? Maybe they’re planning birthday parties?

It would seem to indicate a Conspiracy in the dictionary sense, the horrible sense, your sense. So now that you’ve looked it up in the dictionary, does that confirm for you that they exist at least? Or are you sticking with the Danny and the N.Y Times?

      • Q. Shtik June 11, 2015 at 12:37 am #

How about YOU riddle me this, Janos: A corporate CEO goes into a conference room with a few of his top guys and locks the door. They discuss the possibility/advisability of making an offer to buy XYZ Co. They are warned by the CEO that they must NOT reveal what they are planning to do. The reasons are many. Primarily, if the word gets out the stock price of XYZ Co. could move up and make an offer price too high. Everything about the potential buyout is held in the greatest secrecy. Spilling the beans to friends or relatives would be illegal.

        Is this a conspiracy?

        • Janos Skorenzy June 11, 2015 at 3:31 am #

Well in terms of secrecy? Of course. In terms of the harm it causes? Maybe, maybe not. Capitalism is amoral, only caring about profit. In the long run this is massively destructive. And since a healthy society depends on morality ruling the public square and public policy, allowing amorality for such powerful entities as Corporations have now become just doesn’t cut it.

So it depends on your frame of reference. Within the Corporate World, it’s just how the game is played. What you described would be par for the course – not illegal or harmful in other words. But the Corporate World depend on our world for survival – and its rules are going to be the death our world, both human and natural.

What would the Corporate World consider harmful, illegal and therefore a Conspiracy? You tell me. Perhaps an employee taking his work and clients to another Company? Head hunting. Corporate espionage.

        • Janos Skorenzy June 11, 2015 at 3:03 pm #

Or consider the Trans Pacific Partnership. Little is known about it since it has to be voted in before it can be studied. But it cannot be amended either now or after it is law – but they can change whenever or whatever on their end. It’s dead for us but “alive” for them. It is apparently will affect far more than “just” trade and is in effect an end run around the Constitution – something like a European Union where each country gets a vote.

Apparently they were going to create a North American Union but the resistance has to been too great, because of illegal immigration. So they’re lumping us with the Pacific instead. They are flexible as to the means, but the End, namely World Government, is set in stone.

This is obviously a Conspiracy since it meets both criteria. And if defeated – which looks unlikely – it will just be attempted again in a different form. In other words, the Conspirators will survive any such defeat. This is just a battle for them, but if we lose it may be the end of the war.

Mark Dice collecting signatures on petition to NUKE RUSSIA so America will stay World’s Superpower

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNr5czZKEdk

9 out of 10 Americans signed the petition.

In response, Russians conducted a similar survey on the streets of St.Petersburg, Russia:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1V744OdTsA

Nine out of ten responded negatively.

It looks as if the Americans are not turning the brain on, but just mindlessly putting a signature on a petition. Yet the results are amazing.

In contrast, each Russian respondent thought before answering. It has been seen that people understand what nuclear war is, what is the United States, and what the consequences of dropping nuclear bombs could be.

It was nice to see people thinking – especially in contrast to the carefree American aggressors.

They’ve all been softened by the cold war. Russia is always an existential threat whether it’s communist or capitalist.

This is the kind of knee-jerk reaction you’ll get when you use propaganda to bolster your aggression. It doesn’t take much to get this kind of reaction cuz it’s like religion, firmly engraved into the minds of the children of the cold war. Maybe we have a population of Manchurian candidates.

The question I have is why does the US still deserve to be the world’s hegemon power in finance and military?
From the kind of dialog we have in this country where there are reactionaries against reasonable scientific thought that even the Catholic Pope accepts, well then how do you expect to stay on top.

And when you destroy your economy and refuse to read any other economists than the Austrian school and Milton Friedman….how do you expect to run a military on economic determinism that China now has instead.

      • Therian June 11, 2015 at 3:33 pm #

They may have read the thinking of the Austrian School but they sure as hell aren’t making a single policy decision that resembles any decision the Austrian school would make. The gold standard actually existed for a long time for one concrete reason i.e., that the supply of gold only grows a few percent per year. Therefore, you cannot increase the money supply by more than that.

Greenspan claimed that he was a former devotee of said school but nothing he did would indicate that he actually believed a word of it.

Folks, in large swaths of the US, including most of the urban areas, collapse has already occurred. This is what it looks like. Read your local newspaper, if you still read newspapers. Look out your front window. Its not Union Grove, with former college educated professionals rigging up showers, trout fishing, tending their gardens and experimenting with new kinds of crops, no, its descendants of southern sharecroppers and descendants of the Spanish gold mining slave empire come north for jobs, by the millions, when there ain’t no jobs to be had. The results of this catastrophe is writ large every single day, and it only getting worse, with thousands arriving daily.

Public Health: That deadly strain of TB discovered last week, brought in from India, I’m curious if the tens of thousands of immigrants arriving each month from the 3rd world are in any way screened for infectious diseases? Or is that also deemed ‘racist and exclusionary’. The 4 year old American boy from New Jersey who died last year from entrovirus-68, brought in by ‘Dreamers’ from Central America, already forgot about, who gives a sh-t about the life of one kid when you are endeavoring to “fundamentally change America as we know it”.

You “peeked” my curiosity. Am I an incurable bloviator? I executed an Edit/Find command on each name above, plus your own Evelyn. I eliminated instances where a name appeared in someone else’s comment. Here are the results:

    Therian, 19

Janos, more than 100 (too many to count; after all I only have 1 life to live)

    Finca, 16

    ElysianF, 11

    Q. Shtik, 13 (two of which were corrections of my own typos)

    EvelynV, 4

I believe there is more involved in bloviation than just number of posts. Word count would be a better measure. Here, Finca is the worst offender. I think, by comparison, my own posts are reasonably concise.

      • dannyboy June 11, 2015 at 7:37 pm #

Janos, I repeatedly answer your questions and now, for a second time I find that you are either not reading my answers or are stonewalling unconscionably.

I now regret answering such stupid questions, but since you keep beating this same drum (and you know what that means!).

As I responded to your first lie about my lack of response, I pointed out that I did answer your question of a source of a quotation that you love. In the future I suggest that you avail yourself of Bartlett’s and not make yourself so dependent and subsequently frustrated (sound familiar?).

The second of your inane questions was about Israel. Here I could not help out, as I am not well informed on the topic of your inquiry. I can help in offering that not all Jews are Israel experts, but I suspect that in your conspiracy-ridden mind they are.

There’s help available for this sickness too.

Hope this helps, but, if you can organize your mind at all, please stop repeating the same comments and accusations. It sounds crazy.

You don’t know. Great. First sensible and non-arrogant thing you’ve said. So let me inform you a bit so you can render an opinion.

Jews have been attacking Black African refugees in Israel. Now the Government wants them gone. They just want a better life, Danny – just like Jews who came here to America. Not only that, but Ashkenazi (White!) Jews discriminate against Black or Ethiopian Jews as well as the Sephardics to some degree. It’s almost like they think these Black Jews are inferior or something. So what if they have IQ’s more than 30 points lower than the Ashkenazi average of 106? So what if the kids of such a mixture wont look like them, be like them, or even be able to read? They’re still Jews! All Jews are equal – aren’t they?

Obama’s speech on G7 (in Russian translation)

    Dear Presidents and Prime Ministers!

Let me tell you, as it was shown by Ed Snowden, we eavesdrop on all of you for a long time. But I will not be in front of you apologizing for it, since we’re doing it, not because we are interested in your sexual perversion or insider information, which you are trading right and left. We are interested which politicians in the United States you are paying and for what, contrary to the laws of the United States.

Therefore, our interest is perfectly legal and has recently been richly rewarded, and if we are digging a bunch of extraneous compromising materials is just a pleasant addition to the information that Snowden pulled from the Hillary Clinton’s server when he was the main hacker for NSA.

Therefore, it is better to throw out the last hope that the elections in the United States could be won by the candidate receiving your money and get ready to help us in the framework of NATO, and not vice versa. In particular, we and you will to have to go back to Iraq and fight there with the Islamic state created by your former residents.

And for those of you who are a few months ago said that Iraq is a US problem and not Europe, can immediately pick up the phone and make an appointment with your dentist. It is the prerogative of the President of United States to interpret Article 5 of the NATO charter and not some Nazi bastard that has grown rich on the blood of Jewish children 70 years ago … (crying).

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, the Islamic State! We, as you know, have not yet developed a strategy to combat this form of um …. call it ISIL, but let me remind you that even without this strategy, it is crystal clear to me that the existential threat to the US is Islamic State invading Saudi Arabia and $400/barrel oil inevitable in this case.

But the annexation of Crimea by Russia does not affect oil price that much and is not existential threat to the United States, although of course it’s a shame to let go such a delicious piece of real estate.

No, of course we are always ready to support you in your noble attempts to wack Putin and Russia, and can even provide you with our agents in Ukraine, but let me remind you that the only person who more or less successfully resisted an Islamic state is President Assad of Syria, and only his army, armed by Putin and Russia, separates you from the need to send soldiers to Syria and Iraq, and getting thousands of them back in wooden jackets.

So I advise you not to focus on the anti-Russian rhetoric, which at times spills out of my mouth, but immediately prepare the checkbook to pay bills for the broken dishes in Ukraine. In particular this applies to you, Mrs. Merkel, especially after you during our personal encounter showed me with pride the size of your account after Putin and Russia will be removed from Ukraine.

“For instance, I would propose the theory that homosexuality is lately promoted as a desirable way of being in the world because it allows those who behave that way to avoid and escape a primary source of tension in human life: the difficult relations between men and women.”

Glad you said it, not me. Beyond this there is a form of annihilation anxiety for the male psyche when it gets too close to immersion in the female psyche (as happens in intimate loving herero-sex); this is especially fearsome for those of us who never developed clear identity boundaries separating from the mother, ie., remained enmeshed in her psyche. Hence the cliche of homosexuality relating to mother-bondage.

        sad commentary on the commentor

    • Therian June 12, 2015 at 3:07 pm #

You nailed it, Pucker. Since women get custody of children after divorces in the overwhelming majority of cases, they’re being raised by mothers who let things slide that old school dads never would e.g., the bone in their nose, the eyebrow ring, the massive tats. Old school dads would also not abide their male kids being so damned foppish. The women don’t know how to sew or cook and the men don’t know how to change a tire or fix an appliance.

However, we’re at the point now where it’s the Gen X’ers kids we’re talking about which is like the blind leading the blind. Androgyny is the way of the world here and in Europe. It’s too late to change since the young people who will be assuming the mantles of power believe in this androgenization so they think it’s actually biologically normal.

China Conducts Fourth Test of Wu-14 Strike Vehicle

‘Extreme maneuvers’ used in latest high-speed warhead test

The test of the Wu-14 hypersonic strike vehicle was carried out Sunday, launched atop a ballistic missile fired from a test facility in western China.

It was the fourth successful test of the Wu-14 in the past 18 months and the frequency of tests is being viewed by U.S. intelligence analysts as an indicator of the high priority placed on developing the weapon by the Chinese.

The new strike vehicle is considered a high-technology strategic weapon capable of delivering nuclear or conventional warheads while traveling on the edge of space. One of its key features is the ability to maneuver to avoid U.S. missile defenses.

The Wu-14 was assessed as traveling up to 10 times the speed of sound, or around 7,680 miles per hour.

    http://freebeacon.com/national-security/china-conducts-fourth-test-of-wu-14-strike-vehicle/

Currently, high-tech strategic hypersonic weapons are being developed by United States, Russia, China and India.

There is a high probability that the next war will be watched in US not on TV only, but right through the living room windows.

Consensus among Russian analysts there is not going to be direct confrontation between biggest military powers, at least for now. Mostly hybrid hostilities in economic and financial fronts, as well as use of various extremists groups and fringe states (like Ukraine).

Of course it does not help the worsening economic depression on both sides – the question is whose population will tolerate it better without taking down the existing political regimes.

Anyone who is gullible enough to believe that there’s any TRUE difference between Hillary and Jeb hasn’t followed Hillary’s sordid life very closely. Billary (Bill + Hillary) are a scheming couple of Wall Street insiders posing as outsiders.

You’re right, Janos. Liz Warren is at least believable as a true seeker of justice. Hillary is a farce.

          • Buck Stud June 12, 2015 at 6:11 pm #

It gets old trying to explain/convince those who claim ‘not a dime’s worth a difference’ exists between a Bush or Clinton/ Obama, and that, in FACT, they appoint very ideologically divergent Supreme Court Justices.

For instance, every GOP appointed nominee voted for ‘corporations as people; every Dem appointee voted against it.

So, in FACT, there is a lot more than a dime’s worth a difference between D and R presidents. Moreover, we are at a moment when the SCOTUS is increasingly ‘legislating from the bench’ as witnessed by the latest King vs. Burwell/ GOP attempt to dismantle Obamacare.

So I don’t but what I consider to be the simplistic, nihilistic belief/argument that Clinton and Bush ‘are the same’. There are vast differences on some issues and agreement on others; a political Venn Diagram if you will. And some of these differences result in huge ramifications for Main Street America.

What I have come to learn, though, is those asserting ‘not a dome’s worth of difference’ are, frequently, GOP voters who, in FACT, will make it a point to vote against Dems. They seem to always manage to see a difference on election day. Put another way, the motivational impetus behind the assertion is strategy designed to discourage voter participation/engagement along with demoralizing the Dem base. Because if Dems show up to vote en masse, they win and the GOP loses.

And as far as supporting Warren over Hillary that is ludicrous. The GOP is so toxic and abhorrent that they must be stopped by the most electable candidate, even if that candidate is hardly ideal: The judicial ramifications are simply too important to not hold one’s nose at this juncture in political time and instead opt out from a absolutist ivory tower. In a few more years or perhaps a decade when more of the white Tea Party types are burning in hell for denying fellow human beings a right to exist decently and when the demographic map has further eroded GOP support, then it will be time to become increasingly more idealistic and ideologically rigid and support the likes of a Warren or Sanders.

And speaking of Venn Diagrams: President Obama was sharing too much of the center circle on a PARTICULAR TPP legislation with the GOP. Fortunately, Democrats on the periphery shot the bill down for the moment as it should have been shot down–good for them and America. Obama was on the wrong side of this issue which of course is supported by a majority of the GOP.

What I will grant is this: The ideological light key of the ENTIRE country is increasingly being colored by corporatism. But even at that, there are warm and cool purples that people with advanced perceptual development are still able to distinguish.

          • Janos Skorenzy June 12, 2015 at 11:16 pm #

Washington officially admits Neo-Nazis in Ukrain

On Wednesday the US House of Representatives passed an amendment to the Defense Appropriations Act which prohibits the US from providing arms, training, and other assistance to the neo-Nazi Ukrainian militia, the Azov Battalion. This development was a welcome respite from the relentless push by the war party, a bipartisan group of legislators, government officials and their allies in the media, which seek conflict with Russia over the crisis in Ukraine, to undermine Secretary of State John Kerry’s diplomatic outreach to Russia in May.

Local NAACP head who claimed to be Black is outed by her own parents as really being White. This woman has been on the covers of local magazines constantly for the last two years since she got here. She’s impossibly arrogant and condescending. The Media are desperate to be cool and as Black as possible, clinging to the piece of human flotsam as a prop, are now revealed as the malignant fools that they are.

She recently claimed to have received a package full of pictures of lynchings. But apparently there was no postage on the package. Maybe that got people suspicious enough to look into her story more carefully. When questioned, she said the reporter was being hurtful and that we are all from Africa!

Haven’t gotten that straight yet. She said that her 13 year old Black son was so scared of her stories about White Racists that he’s been sleeping with her for a month! Considering how early Black boys “come on line” this may be cause for a visit from social services.

Her parents were missionaries and adopted Black African kids. Whether that means they are crazy self haters or they neglected her in their favor remains to be seen.

According to the book “Battlefield America”, it’s now common for states to enter into supply contracts with private prison operators to commit to keeping the private prisons at least 90% occupied. Most prisoners are now doing time for minor, non-violent crimes. Many poor kids now have at least one parent in jail.

Once more it is demonstrated that we are not ruled by TPTB, or Big Oil, or the Bilderbergs or the TriLateral Commission or whatever the lastest conspiracy theory is. Once more it is demonstrated the many rule, not the money.

Big business wanted the XL Pipeline. Then Bill McKibben and 350.org organized mass protests and stopped XL. CFN said the era of mass protests was over… wouldn’t work they said… we live in a police state. But they did work to stop the XL pipeline. The many rule, not the money.

Now, once again, it is proved the many, not the money, rules. Obama wanted Fast Track authority. The Republican Party wanted Fast Track. Big business (multinational corporations) wanted Fast Track. But the people said NO to TPP. The many rule, not the money.

302 members of congress were pressured… by massive protest by the people… and congress voted against the interests of the 1%. Congressional representatives are millionaires, but they are concerned about job security. They are not puppets of TPTB.

The multinational corporations may have the money, but they cannot win without the many, the votes. Obama needs 90 representatives to pass TPP and he won’t get them, because the people have spoken.

You’re hilariously naive. Right, the “many” rule with their 5% of the money. Yes, once in a while they win small skirmishes but over the long haul it’s the golden rule … he who has the gold rules.

Corporations have something far more powerful than money i.e., the ability to subject employees to punitive schedules and to make them fear for their jobs as a psychological backdrop. They started as public trusts in America where they were OUR bitch but now we’re are THEIR bitch.

Your views are those of a Mandarin who is out of touch with the day to day plight of workers all over the world. This situation is particularly bad in China where there isn’t an OSHA to protect them and construction deaths are just “collateral damage”. You live in Fantasyland.
