As a Jewish American, and a connoisseur of my people’s folklore, I bring to your attention the troublesome figure of the dybbuk (dih-bik), a disembodied demon that, because of its sins, wanders restlessly among us and can enter the flesh of a living person, who will then afflict and torment the community until properly exorcised by a minyan of rabbis garbed in white burial shrouds wielding sacred oaths.
Thus, I give you Andrew Weissmann, Esq., attorney at law, the American chief dybbuk, on the scene for decades now, sowing mischief and woe, leading an unholy host of fellow dybbukim calling itself Lawfare to infest the courts and meddle in elections. Think: Michael Sussmann, an imp of RussiaGate; Michael Bromwich, former DOJ Inspector General (!) and then advisor to one Christine Blasey Ford (remember her?); David Laufman, erstwhile DOJ counter-intel goblin and Blasey Ford “beach friend” errand boy; Marc Elias, engineer extraordinaire of ballot harvesting operations in the 2020 election and many related pranks; Dan Goldman, lead counsel for the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment against Donald J. Trump…dybbuks all!
The dybbuk Weissmann is best known, of course, for directing the Special Counsel’s “Russian Collusion” campaign (2017 – 2019) in the mental absence of its nominal chief, Robert Mueller, an endeavor that, in the end, could not find any instance of then-President Trump colluding with said Russians — but did, via a firehose of media leaks, succeed in casting a Trump derangement spell over half the US population. Dybbuk Weissmann lately haunts the MSNBC cable news channel as a “legal analyst.”
And yet, this shape-shifting fiend turns up again now in the Biden family global bribery matter, of all things. See if you can follow the convoluted tale coming out of Dybbuk Central a.k.a. Ukraine and the FBI. You may already know that in May, 2014, R. Hunter Biden, son of then-vice president Joe Biden, was appointed to the board of the Ukrainian natgas company Burisma, where he was paid $80,000-a-month for his expertise (he had none) in the global gas industry. As it happened, at exactly the same time Veep Joe Biden was appointed as then-President Barack Obama’s “point man” in Ukraine after the 2014 Maidan Coup, engineered by Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and the CIA, that ousted elected President Viktor Yanukovych.
By and by, Ukraine elected a new American-friendly president, Petro Poroshenko. Burisma was owned by an oligarch name of Mykola Zlochevsky. Apparently, the $80-K-a-month for Hunter Biden was not enough. The friendly American veep, Joe Biden, pressed Burisma’s Zlochevsky to provide $5-million payment each to Hunter and himself for additional Biden family services in Ukraine.
President Petro Poroshenko had a political confidant and fixer (problem solver) named Oleksandr Onyshchenko, then a member of Ukraine’s parliament. In the 2015-16 time-frame, Onyshchenko conveyed a message to Zlochevsky that paying large sums of money to the Bidens might not be a good idea. Somehow, Onyshchenko’s complaints about the Bidens’ grift operation made it into the leading Kiev newspaper. As we all know, in November, 2016, Donald Trump was elected US President. Catastrophe! Freak-out in the US embassy in Kiev!
December, 2016, American Ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, sent panicky emails to the folks back home about Onyshschenko’s allegations of Biden bribery. One of the recipients was a CIA agent implanted in the National Security Council name of Eric Ciaramella, later known as the Ukraine Phone Call Whistleblower.
Now, you may recall that in the summer of 2019, the owner of a Delaware computer repair shop, one John Paul Mac Isaac, came into possession of a laptop abandoned by Hunter Biden — under law, being left 90-days after repairs were made — and seeing its startling contents, tried to give it to the FBI, but was rebuffed. By then, CIA agent Eric Ciaramella had blown his whistle over a phone call Mr. Trump made to new Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky inquiring about the Bidens’ doings there. Later that fall, with impeachment proceedings started against President Trump, FBI agents came back at Mr. Mac Isaac and took the computer into the agency’s possession.
Consider that FBI Director Christopher Wray must have known about the laptop coming into his HQ and what it contained — and known that throughout the impeachment and Senate trial proceedings of Mr. Trump, And, of course, Mr. Wray did not volunteer any of this evidence about the Bidens to Mr. Trump’s defense attorneys. Nor did then-Attorney General William Barr, Mr. Wray’s superior. Odd, a little bit?
Spool back a few years now: turns out that in December, 2016, Oleksandr Onyshchenko had gone to the FBI with a hoard of audiotapes made by Burisma chief Zlochevsky of phone calls between Veep Joe Biden and Ukraine President Poroshenko. Zlochevsky was now freaked-out that President-elect Donald Trump might have a whole different attitude toward Ukraine than the Obama-Biden admin had. The Burisma chief had gotten a hold of the tapes as, shall we say, an insurance policy in case his sketchy Ukrainian government and their even sketchier US State Department and CIA handlers happened to give him any guff about his operations. By then, Mr. Onyshchenko had been officially designated an FBI Confidential Human Source. Turns out he had been playing both sides, informing the American Intel Community about dark matters in the upper echelons of Ukraine for some time, was trusted, and was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars by the US for his efforts.
Now, guess who got into the act at just moment (Dec 16, 2016) that Confidential Human Source Mr. Onyshchenko came forward with Zlochevsky’s Poroshenko-Biden tapes: the American Lawfare dybbuk Andrew Weissmann — of all people! What was poor naïve Mr. Onyshchenko thinking when he handed evidence of Democratic Party bigwig Veep Joe Biden’s moneygrubbing over to Barack Obama’s Department of Justice?
And guess what happened to the audiotaped evidence of the extravagant gifts to Hunter and Joe Biden: pffffftttttt…! It went up in a vapor. Dybbuk Weissmann, then working as the chief of the DOJ’s fraud division, made the whole thing go away. Just. Like. That. Dybbuk Weissmann made sure that the DOJ and the FBI officially discontinued having any interest in whatever the Biden family might have been up to in Ukraine.
And guess what happened next to Mr. Onyshchenko: he was charged with lying and corruption by his own (Ukrainian) government and became an international fugitive when the US Intel Community demurred to let him escape to the United States. And guess who is now in fear of his life.
And, by the way, subsequent phone call recordings dating from December 19, 2016, are now circulating freely in the US of then-Ukraine President Poroshenko thanking then-Veep Joe Biden for getting the US DOJ off the case. As reported by Stephen McIntyre on Twitter (@ClimateAudit): Biden re-assured Poroshenko that the FBI had “stopped” and there was “no reason [for FBI] to talk to him again.” Biden undertook to “check that [with FBI] and confirm that with you.”
So fast forward to the present moment. Senator Chuck Grassley made a speech on the Senate Floor this week revealing the existence of all these tape recordings that detail $5-million plus $5-million bribes from Mr. Zlochevsky to the Biden family. Podcaster Dan Bongino has played them on his show several times this past week (episodes 2030, 2031, and 2032). Go there and listen for yourself.
Note, too, that dybbuk Andrew Weissmann is still at large in our land dybbuking-up a storm again just this past week with an article in The Atlantic titled Jack Smith’s Backup Operation suggesting that if Special Counsel Jack Smith’s Mar-a-Lago papers case against Donald Trump happens to fizzle, yet another case can be opened against the former President in the New Jersey federal district court. Isn’t it about time to call in that minyan of rabbinical exorcists and expel this demon from America’s body politic?

In April, 2023, Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) Kathie Breault was indicted in the Eastern States District Federal Court for “Conspiracy to Defraud the United States” for giving vaccination cards to people who did not receive Covid-19 vaccinations. Her defense is that the vaccinations were ineffective and harmful, and to administer them would violate the Hippocratic oath of health professionals (First do no harm). Her legal battle against a dishonest and vindictive federal government will require lawyer’s fees that exceed her ability to pay — a reminder that “the process is the punishment.”
Kathie has also been accused of “professional misconduct” by the New York State Licensing Board for prescribing Ivermectin via telehealth visits in July 2021. Many other medical practitioners across the United States have been similarly persecuted and some have lost their licenses to practice. Kathie has been under investigation by New York’s Office of Professional Discipline since March 2022. No decision has been reached as of May 2023.

These people are not going to prosecute themselves so I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do about it. I mean, I guess I could join the J6 crowd languishing in solitary confinement. I guess I could go do that. Perhaps I could refuse to pay my taxes but all those new armed IRS agents would probably love nothing more than that.
In the Army, we spoke of three levels of chaos: Cluster fuck, Goat Rodeo and Shit Storm/Show.
A Cluster Fuck was just unplanned chaos you happened to find yourself in. A Goat Rodeo was an elaborately staged event that went South and turned chaotic. The king of all chaos was the Shit Storm/Show.
A Shit Show (a term used exclusively by combat veterans) was an event so disastrous that you were no longer a participant but a horrified observer that could do nothing.
This is where we find ourselves now in the USA. We are witnessing a Shit Show.
The majority of Americans who have their eyes open to reality know deep in our bowels that the corruption, decay and rot are wide open for all to see. They don’t hide it anymore and they don’t care if the majority know about it. They have infiltrated everything with their cancer and they know they are untouchable. Justice no longer exists for these creatures who exist above and beyond the confines of Constitutional law.
The only course of action we have now is to march into those structures and drag these wretched creatures out onto the street and perform true justice. But that won’t happen. This corrupt creature that was once the American Government is still powerful and more dangerous than ever.
So, like you said we sit by and watch the shit show and post comments on websites to share our feelings with like minded folk.
I don’t know what else to do. Vote? My big ass. We all know the vote system is compromised. Contact our representative? My even bigger ass. They represent their donors and their personal retirement account, they don’t give a fuck about the people they were supposedly hired to represent. Protest? Yeah, the media won’t even cover it. Get my guy and go to the State Capitol? My 9mm won’t do much against that US tank or the SWAT team in their riot gear.
So, I sit. I post. I hope. I despair. I wait. I try to put my faith in a God who seems to be sitting on his/her throne doing nothing but letting the evil, the filthy and the liars rape and pillage the righteous and the innocent.

Knowing where you are is the most important thing and CFN helps us to see where we are on the map.
As I see it, we are currently trapped behind enemy lines. What does that mean? Well, a soldier trapped behind enemy lines has to follow a new set of rules. For one, you can not remove your uniform for if you are caught in civilian clothes then you can be executed on the spot. That means that you have to hide yourself from everyone. No exceptions.
Being trapped behind enemy lines means you have to be meticulous in everything you do as the authorities only have to get lucky once.
Because I follow alt media, I was prepared for the Covid Shit Show. I couldn’t be threatened with loss of access to groceries because I had plenty put away. No one could threaten my income because I had plenty put away. No one was going to haul me off to a camp because I had prepared for that as well.
You know where you are – act accordingly.

Do you remember the parable of the wheat and the tares? Tares are a plant that grows with wheat and mimics it. I guess it’s not that easy to tell the two apart when they’re growing together. In this parable, the field hands come to tell the owner that they found tares among the wheat and ask if they should uproot the tares. And the owner tells them no, let them grow together until the wheat is ripe, and then gather the wheat into my barn, but throw the tares into the fire. What we’re seeing now is the maturing of the wheat (the harvest ripening, thus exposing the tares) so that the tares can be removed and thrown into the fire. They have to be allowed to continue on so that they can all be exposed.
What you don’t realize is that the parable was illustrative of the fact that until it was time for the harvest both the tares and the wheat are indistiguishable. There’s a spiritual analogy here also
God is allowing those who will repent, repent, and also allowing the tares to rear their heads amongst the wheat. Then it’s time for the harvest!

Cull to create a population of “joyous robots” in a “zombie sleep” performing acts of “imbecile servility.” America is well and truly fucked. The only answer for the powerless is to disconnect, withdraw, know where you are (as someone above already said), and wait.

Getting involved and skinning the cat from the inside out is the best course of action in our current state. For too long, we thought all was good when it was not.

Jesus wasn’t a smiter, so he doesn’t count for much. Jesus could cast out demons, but even in the New Testament he could usually only do it one demon at a time. As a Christian I still hope that one day Christ or Jehovah will be forced to come and clean up the mess. The Bible says he will at some point. Revelation explains this event in clear detail but doesn’t say when.
I look at it this way. When Christ or Jehovah comes to clean up the mess will he be invited by Kevin McCarthy to give an address to the joint session of Congress and discuss the merits of a balanced budget with the Democrats (Christ has to be a conservative, right)? Or when Christ returns will he appear on MSNC and debate the merits of transgenderism and homosexuality pride with other talking heads?

Part of the reason is that the historical position of Jews in Western society has to act as go-betweens, between the rulers and the people. Solzhenitzen goes into some detail about this in “200 Years Together.” Jews were the rulers’ tax collectors and administrators. They were also the rulers’ creditors. Basically, the were the rulers’ high-level employees who did the dirty work. This placed them in the postion of taking the blame for the rulers’ oppression, cupidity, and misrule–though one of the perks of such a position is that part of your compensation includes “all you can steal,” and Jews availed themselves of these opportunities.
I think this is more or less the position of the “top of the heap” Jews today. In their roles in finance and the media, they do the bidding of the real rulers. While it seems like the PTB could just as well place non-Jews in such positions (and they do, of course), generations of practice have made Jews very good at it.
Historically, too, they are an urban and literate/educated people–with a ceturies-long and intimate familiarity with “the way things really work”–so for much of history there were probably few others who were suited to fill such roles.
Another reason the Jews are peculiarly suited to such roles is that their primary loyalty is to Jews, and not to the nation in which they reside, or to its people. They feel no kinship with the people, so if the rulers want to oppress or destroy them, they feel no sense of outrage.
Most of us never encounter “top of the heap” Jews, though we may have much contact with the “little” Jews. It used to be that most of these, here in the Midwest at least, were conservatives, with mostly the same values as everyone else. I don’t think that’s true of the Jews around DC, most of whom seem to be rabid leftists–and government employees. But I think there is a general feeling among Jews that, however lowly they may be, and however crappy the government may be, supporting government policies will benefit them.

It had always been my practice to read Jim’s blog essay and if I spotted an error I would send him an email about it. Typically, later that day I’d check back to the essay and find that Jim had made the correction. Often, in addition, Jim would reply back by email saying “thanks.”
Sometimes, but not often, Jim would not make the correction I was suggesting and this would make me wonder if that meant he disagreed with the error I pointed out.
On Dec 30, 2022 I sent Jim an email pointing out an error and Jim replied on Dec 31st “Don’t bother, I have a copy editor and a line editor. They get to me some hours after I put it (the essay) up and then I have to go back and make corrections.”
So, at this point, I would read Jim’s essay and make a note to myself of any errors I spotted. Later that day I would go back to see if his two editors had spotted the same errors, notified Jim, and he had made the corrections. Sometimes the corrections were made and sometimes they weren’t. It was hit or miss. Once when corrections were not made I emailed Jim and snidely guessed that his two editors “must be on vacation.” Jim didn’t reply.
In recent months or weeks I have taken a new tack. Instead of emailing Jim about errors I would simply mention it in a gently worded comment. The essay of Monday June 12th contained what I deemed a missing word [of] error and I wrote a comment to that effect. Another commenter replied that I was wrong and that Jim’s sentence was just a colloquialism and therefore correct. I continued to check the essay a few times every day but Jim never made the correction. Therefore I don’t know if Jim was reading all the comments as he typically does on the day he publishes or, if not, he simply was not aware of my error/correction post.

I often find myself unsettled by comments here that seem to imply our host is complicit in the crimes of fellow Jews, or somehow answerable for them. I hold the same belief about this that I do about reparations for slavery; we’re responsible for what we do and what we support personally, and nothing more.
I’m inclined to toss out a theory of mine for your consideration. It’s not a firm belief, but I like it, and it’s based on the following information:

That being the case, they will eventually gain control of, or at least be very prominent in, every aspect of life that requires intelligence. They’ll become ascendant in law, science, medicine, etc. And I think we can all admit that it’s often not “a bit smarter” but orders of magnitude smarter, and often possessed of a higher level of group cohesiveness.
Some of us are smarter than others, a simple fact of life that applies to both individuals and groups. And it’s reasonable to expect that intelligence to manifest in every possible way, both good and bad. So, for every Sam Bankman Fried or Alissa Heinerscheid you have an Irving Berlin, a Groucho Marx, a Tom Lehrer, a Rod Serling, a George Gershwin, and, of course, a Jim Kunstler. I think that’s a more than fair trade.

Good question MQ. The 2016 election was a surprise for those who forgot why those pesky Founders created the Electoral College.
That little problem was bypassed by a pandemic panic and 21st century tech in the 2020 election.
The problem of illegal ballots still exists today but is still fixable.:
1. Get rid of mail-in ballots, absentee ballots have always
worked.
2. Maintain accurate voter rolls. Flush ERIC. Require Voter ID.
3. Mandatory cross check all digital counts with paper ballots.
The above is just a minimum start based on what used to be the accepted standard. Results from places which do not conform are rejected.
Of course these are still unresolved issues in just about every State.

As a working stiff in Gdansk, employed in the Lenin shipyard, you were told stories about trying to organize in the late 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s where the primary way of expressing dissent was to march to Communist party headquarters and try to burn it down–with the usual consequence being the shooting deaths of fellow activists, the rebuilding of communist party headquarters, and no change or challenge to the ruling Polish networks of communist power.
But then, in 1980, a new and completely surprising self-generated social movement emerged in Poland, something called Solidarity (with its own democratic, internal structure of power) which appeared to be the consequence of decades of failed experimentation in political change.
Just about every intellectual voice in Poland said such an organization could never happen–but there it was and it helped to change the course of Polish history.
I wonder if we could learn any important lessons from such an unexpected historical event?
It had a lot to do with the appointment of a Polish pope, IMO.

We externalize these very internal ‘demons’ and find names for them but their source and substance are always the same. They are inside the human family as a whole… and within each of us as individuals.
Some of us spend our lives working to overcome and put down these dark impulses. And others of us just go ahead and make them the centerpiece of their entire lifestyle and belief system.

I’ve been procrastinating with my foray, after a very long hiatus, back into electronic music. I’ll admit to thinking about incorporating your poem(s) into some of it, but then, I am wont to think about too much that never transpires.
My secret sauce (don’t tell anybody) before we have to go back to the land and away from much tech is; a new Yoga 7i laptop, and Ardour open source Digital Audio Workstation; the Generate chaotic-additive synth plugin by Newfangled Audio, the Chromaphone 3 physical modeling synth plugin by AAS and the ‘hybrid subtractive-physical-resonance-modeling’ synthesis Plasmonic by Rhizomatic Software Synthesis.
Oh and a new acoustic electric guitar that’s been sitting in a closet for the past year. I still have to figure out how to get it into my laptop without microphoning it, if possible, since it has the string pickups and a female audio jack in its body.
If I can’t manage some stuff within this lifetime, apparently, according to some cosmologists, we never really die and that maybe we are ‘just information’, so to speak, so, if so, I’ll try to catch up in the next lifetime if my counterpart– me here and now– can somehow communicate to me in the other lifetime.
Sometimes I think I catch my counterparts talking to me from other universes, I guess through my intuition. Maybe I should write a song about that too… or take some meds for it who knows…

Fear is the only thing that matters. It works almost wholesale. “Reason” is just a mop-up op for the recalcitrant few.
There’s only 2 emotions – love and fear. Every other feeling is a variation of the 2. Love comes from a higher power, and fear originally comes from fight or flight, a survival mechanism.

Fear can generate change, but I believe what you’re referring to is shame, a much deeper and trickier emotion.
I should clarify: fear is helpful when it’s the proverbial run-in with a tiger. Relentless fear porn, though, is either numbing and irritating for those few who can think, or panic-inducing for the rest.
It is more than numbing and irritating for the thinkers. Can have deeper psych effects that become physical.
Lots of intelligent people live in fear, as they understand what can happen in life.
The trick is learning to just be yourself and push ahead, balancing the fear with what you know you are meant to do deep down.
In all honesty, trusting the gut is often more effective than thinking too much, as the “gut” is your subconscious making sense of patterns in the plethora of information your senses take in.

She has a section on the topic in the recent seminar that CHD did on the attacks on our food supply (by recent, I mean maybe a couple of months ago, but it’s a good seminar – I need to go back and listen to more of it).
Well Roundup kills all the pollinators that come in contact with it, so it indirectly will lead to human demise anyway.

The global warming climate crisis is an utter scam. We may however experience climate temporarily changing to unstable and colder because we are entering another grand solar minimum. Grand minimums happen around every 2 centuries and create a lot of problems for mankind, primarily famine and crop failures. Some minimums are worse and colder than others. The Dark Ages in Europe included much colder weather and things didn’t warm up until the Middle Ages. The planet is critically low on carbon dioxide and needs much more CO2 – not less.
Resource depletion is real and isn’t nonsense. There is a reason why there is little oil drilling happening in Western Pa – the place that perhaps gave birth to the oil age. Men built crude wooden drilling platforms and towers, poked holes in the rock, and had gushers that sprayed oil out of the ground like geysers in Yellowstone Park. Not anymore. We long ago burned that oil up and blew it all out our tailpipes. That oil is depleted and never again will it spew out of the ground like that in that area of Pa. The low hanging fruit is all gone in the USA except for places in Alaska and in forbidden off shore areas closed to drilling. We’ve used most of ours up and now we want Russia’s oil.
The oil business died pretty quick around Titusville & Oil City, played out by the 1870s; however, I think to this day wells still exist. People have working oil wells in their own backyards pumping out 2 or 3 barrels a day. At $75 per barrel that’s over $200, 7 days a week. Not too bad.
Speaking of the Climate Crisis, I recently watched video of Al Gore at some Climate event shouting like a maniac that “the oceans are boiling”, which didn’t ring true to me because we had been at the Sound a few days previous and the water was goddam cold. The water temp. @ LI Sound right now is 62°F, which, going back to 1876 when records started to be kept, is right on average for this week in June.

Slavery can exist when there’s a system that allows it. It’s a combination of morals (or, rather, lack thereof) and laws that allow one human to control the daily actions of another. Neither a slave’s time nor personal freedom belongs to them.

Similarly, mortgage companies are staffed to the gills with people who could never themselves forcibly eject an elderly person and all of their possessions onto the curb outside the home they’d lived in for 50 years. It would be morally upsetting.
But they routinely submit the paperwork that causes these things to happen nonetheless.
Luckily for the mortgage company workers it’s the sheriffs deputies who actually handle the evictions. Luckily for the sheriffs involved, somebody else’s decision was responsible for the eviction. Both the sheriffs and the mortgage company employees are similarly insulated from any moral qualms because neither was directly responsible for Granny or Grampa’s plight. They’re just “following orders”.

About slavery – it probably arrived on the scene after humans figured out all the processes involved in tricking beasts of burden to do most of mankind’s heavy lifting and hauling. If you can get horses and oxen to do your bidding then why not keep humans around under the same conditions as livestock and use them sort of as beasts of burden but made to perform more complex tasks like making bricks, cutting stone, mining, etc. The industrial revolution likely helped make slavery obsolete. Machines were performing work formerly done by slaves.
As for dybukks, google “dybukk box”. There’s an infamous haunted dybukk box out there that’s a source of a lot of stories. The boxes show up on ebay.

As teens, two of my brothers had a “slave” of sorts, a sort of dim-witted kid who did their bidding. I don’t know how it came to be, but they convinced this guy who was actually their same age to run errands for them and basically do whatever they asked. He also served as comic foil. He probably put up with it because he didn’t have any other friends. So in a weird way, it was sort of a symbiotic relationship. Gotta wonder how many “slave” relationships were like that, as well.
When they got older, one of my brothers bought a house, and “Gary” moved in as a roommate. But by now they were all in their 20’s and Gary started to rebel, and through working on his own at Domino’s Pizza, gained his independence and flew the coop.
One brother stated “I guess Gary finally caught on.”
My thinking about slavery is somewhat more cynical. Humans have had slaves throughout history, though in the earliest times it wasn’t institutionalized. Enemies captured in war were often enslaved, even by quite primitive peoples.
I think the main reason that slavery has largely disappeared from the more advanced economies is because most of the hard, heavy, tedious, and time-consuming work is done by machines. To run a present-day household at present-day standards, you would need a whole staff off household servants or slaves, if you didn’t have running water, a water heater, electricity, central heat/AC, a washer and dryer, perma-press clothing, a dishwasher, a Roomba, etc.
It is much cheaper and more efficient to have household appliances than to maintain several slaves.
To be honest, I think if the West ever does find itself shorn of these technologies and the required cheap energy, slavery will re-emerge. After slavery was abolished, the lowest classes lived lives that were almost indistinguishable from slavery, and in many cases worse. A class society is a setup for institutionalized slavery of a kind.
And there are still services that cannot be performed by machines or manufactured goods–or at least not satisfactorily. That’s why sex slavery exists.
Pretty sure this is who Ward Churchill was referring to when he coined the term “Little Eichmanns.” Sadly, it’s most of us, intentional or not.

I, very honestly as someone who grew up living in totalitarian states in the 60s and 70s, see no other option at this point than national divorce. Hopefully, of course, amicably. The alternative is too ghastly to contemplate. Again, as someone who’s seen the alternative first hand. I have been living my life in the last 5 years as someone who believes this is what will happen in the near term. I’ve moved to a rural area, learned life saving techniques on my own, retrained myself (after growing up on a farm) in growing my own veggies, raising chickens and eggs, baking my own bread, curing my own meat. And, importantly, connecting with people around me – giving back to them and allowing them to give back to me – tending to my lawn and home so we all feel proud of our area, supporting children in their lemonade stands and fundraisers for their activities, etc. I believe we all should get back into rural communities or at least communities outside of blue urban areas and try to start the seeds for a divorce. The blue cities and states are smugly saying they can live without us, so this should actually be easy, no?
I can’t think of a blue American city that isn’t in a state of collapse right now, some worse than others, it’s true, but most of them irrecoverable. Do you think Portland, Baltimore, St. Louis or Detroit will be desirable places to live ever again? Lefty political scum, thru persistent decades long efforts, have even managed to turn San Francisco — our most dynamic, beautiful city — into a dystopic, squalid sh#thole.

I agree. If you want to live a good life, start living it. You can live fairly happily in the city–or at least you could in times past. You could surround yourself with good friends, forming your own community in a very small way.
But now I think it’s more necessary than ever to get out of the cities. For many people, that remains the dream in this area (the greater Kansas City area). Up until about ten years ago, it was possible to do this fairly affordably, though that might mean settling for a fixer-upper or some other type of housing that many people would consider sub-standard, such as a mobile home. Fifteen years ago, even very poor people could move to the country, if they were diligent in their search.
My former neighbors, a young couple with a pre-school-aged son, bought a trailer on an acre of land for $4,500. The seller gave them a payout. Another couple who were my neighbors bought their trailer, also on an acre of land, for $3,500. This was around 15 years ago. The second couple recently sold their place, after buying a house in Texas. Based on current prices around here for such a domicile, I would guess they sold it for $20,000. It is customary (meaning “necessary”) to owner-finance these deals. So somebody bought a place in the country, on an acre of land, for $20,000 quite recently. Some other neighbors paid $20,000 for a trailer on a couple of lots, about four years ago.
If a person really wants to live in the country, they will find a way to do it, even if they’re very poor.
Of course, if you want a real stick-built house in the same community, in the style to which you are accustomed, it will cost around $200,000.
I could list quite a few other remarkable deals in nearby, in decidedly more wealthy areas. The house and acreage can sometimes be obtained at a bargain price–though you might have to gut the house down to the studs and replace the roof, the septic system, the electrical wiring, and the plumbing.
If you want to get out of the city, you can.
There are other options besides septic systems, wiring upgrades, plumbing etc. However it requires going back to a 40’s lifestyle that I’ve observed people living back in hillbilly 1950’s. I’ve met them and talked to them and they seemed quite happy and satisfied with things. I’d hear jokes and stories from them – not whining about how hot is was. There is a well in the backyard and you pump the water up by cranking a handle. You carry it inside as needed. There’s a big cast iron cauldron in the back yard that is fired by big chunks of coal or firewood. It’s the water heater, used year round, and it’s also where you wash clothing in hot water. If you want a hot bath you carry the hot water inside or you can also heat water on your wood heater in winter. Forget about ac, clothes dryers, dish washers etc. You’ll be doing everything the old fashioned way with buckets instead of indoor plumbing. Of course you’ll get tired and lazy and go for days without bathing. So what?
Most hillbillies were wise enough to build the outhouse some distance away from the water source. Anyhow, for people so inclined and able to cope, one can make do with a primitive electric system that’s just enough for lights, electronic devices and other high tech crap that uses little current. Cooking can still be done using wood fired kitchen cookstoves still available but pricey. By doing this you will understand an old saying “If you can’t stand the heat – get out of the kitchen”.
It’s entirely possible to find one heck of a deal in a rural place and don’t do a single thing to the old house aside from fixing the roof. Simply forget about septic systems, plumbing, electricity, fancy carpets, tile bathrooms. You’ll have a bath tub in the bathroom, maybe an old rusty cast iron thing on short stubby metal legs. You bring in buckets of hot water, get plenty of suds, and recreate the famous scene in “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”. That’s when Tuco is in the tub all lathered up and shoots an intruder who forgot to shoot first and talk later. Never forget to bring your shooter with you and concealed in the suds.
Well, cooking on a wood stove indoors during the summer is not advisable–unless you live in Vermont, like Helen and Scott Nearing. They seem to have eaten only raw vegetables during the summer. A summer kitchen would be nice in such cases. But most people without AC do only a minimal amount of cooking in summer–exceot for canning, which seems to fall mostly during the hottest part of the summer. A true hillbilly microwaves everything in summer.
As for minimal electricity, one of my old friends, now deceased, said that they had electric lights in the house he grew up in, but they were powered by dry-cell batteries. His dad went down in the basement and tinkered with them once a week to keep them going.
I’ve done without running water. It is do-able, but every little task becomes very time-consuming. I didn’t really mind, but I am a patient person. And I at least had a submersible pump, so that I didn’t have to pull up water with a bucket or pump it with a hand pump.
I met someone who had a well on her porch. (I didn’t see it, she just told me.)

That sounded rather convenient. My uncle had a pump, but you had to walk out to it. Same as the outhouse, although I can’t remember how far apart they were.
Americans do much barbecueing anyhow—it seems like an indoor kitchen is not needed for most of the year.
Another way to obviate a kitchen is to get a few Crockpots and a Nesco-type slow-cooker/roaster. A lot of caterers use these all the time.
Then just add a pila, as in Central America.
Really relieves a lot of the pressure on an indoor kitchen.
I recent saw an item at ZeroHedge regarding the popularity of tiny homes.
Some entrepreneur has come up with a tiny home kit. It may be that the market for tiny homes consists of people who cannot on their own deal with erecting even a small building.
Concerning the plumbing issue, I guess one would have to find states in which an outhouse is a permitted sanitary facility.
Obviously there are other infrastructure issues, which I won’t belabor. But I do think the tiny home idea may have legs for a lot of people. If one can get an acre of land.
The federal clampdown on gas/propane is another potential hurdle for people wanting to get outta Dodge and downsize.
The trouble with that, is that if civilization falls, you had better be an expert with an AR-15, as well as chickens, and have a large ammo stockpile.

If civilization falls, you’ll probably fare better in the county than in the cities. And I think most country people have an AR-15, among other types of firearms. You need them in the country, and you’ll get a certain amount of practice just shooting varmints. I think most people are probably careless about stockpiling ammo, though. It’s too easy to go pick up a few more boxes of shells at the gun shop.

I got laid off about 15 years ago, on good terms, but very bad timing for me (had just bought a house and traveled Europe, not knowing the company was struggling)…That Christmas I sent my ex-bosses each the most expensive fruitcake I could find, receipt included. Once the USA manages to destabilize or even ruin our fuel supply systems most all recreational driving will end. By now it should be obvious that many brilliant minds and resources have been employed to manage the international 2030/Great Reset/Build Back Better coup, and as such, it is going to take an organized effort to have a say in the outcome.

The war Was over in weeks. By the end of March 2022 Ukraine had initialed the Istanbul agreement which could have stopped it then. The Russians moved their troops back from Kiev as a goodwill gesture. Unfortunately the USA whose war this is convinced Zelensky that it was in his interest to keep it going. Ukraine got a second chance with NATO armament. That was countered or destroyed and Ukraine is currently on its third and last army with the recent imports of hardware and NATO training.
As for Ukraine and it’s people not wanting Russia I’m not sure what you’ve been imbibing but chances are you are referring to the area roughly west of the Dnieper. You are correct to an extent in that Western Ukraine will present an issue. It seems to me that Russia is in no hurry to do anything other than attrit the last Ukrainian army and as time goes by the weakness of NATO and the West becomes more obvious. Could be that Poland and Hungary will absorb what’s left of the westernmost areas. That still leaves a fair amount of real estate to sort out. But the geopolitical effects have become so transformative that from today’s vantage point it is impossible to predict.

Peter took another fall today. The previous one was 12 days ago. Today’s fall happened in a public place, a bar/restaurant called the Pour House in Haddon Township, NJ. They specialize in a large selection of beers. Thus Pour, not Poor.
Bo, I, and Peter had met up with my oldest son and his wife and my two grandsons in a town that’s at the midpoint between our residences. They drove 65 miles north from Maryland and we drove 65 miles south from central NJ. Our meeting place was one mile from the house I grew up in so I was on familiar turf.
On the way to this meetup Peter requested from the back seat of my pickup that I pull into a rest stop because his stomach was killing him and he might have to take a shit and also felt car sick and might throw up. The rest stop was extremely busy because grade school kids had just finished their school year on Wednesday and families were set loose on their first outings of the summer.
Bo took Peter to the rest room and waited for him on a chair outside. I waited in the truck. Time passed. My cell phone rang. It was Bo. exasperated waiting for Peter. I was summoned to come in and search the Men’s Room for him. Bo’s greatest fear, that he had shit his Depends and we had failed to bring with us a fresh pair. Shitting his adult diapers had become a daily occurrence. I walked along the row of a dozen toilet stalls shouting loudly “Peter, are you in here?” No answer. Men stared at me as if I might be “a little off.” I made three passes shouting. Still no response. I went out to Bo. Peter emerged a few steps behind me, smiling like a simpleton.
Near the end of our lunch meal Peter got up and asked the waitress where the men’s room was. He began to walk there. My back was toward Peter so I didn’t see what happened but there was a loud crash/thud. The noisy crowd hushed quiet, a half dozen people rushed to aid Peter. My son and two other large men wrestled Peter to his feet with great difficulty. Like last time, no broken bones. Peter smiled off the incident as if to say “no biggie, now where’s that men’s room?”
The floor with tables and booths where we sat was 6 inches higher than the floor elsewhere in the establishment. A brightly colored tape on the floor drew one’s attention to two small steps down to the lower level. Peter never looked down and stepped off into air like a cartoon character and crashed to the floor. We paid our tab and departed.
Next stop was a large playground on the north side of Cooper River…swings, slides, monkey bars, etc. Kids running everywhere. Their parents sat at shaded metal picnic tables. A Black guy, mid-twenties, walked by holding the hand of his child. His pants were below his buttocks, his jockey shorts totally exposed. I fought off an extreme urge to ask him by what convoluted logic wearing your pants below your ass could be thought of as a cool thing to do and besides, hadn’t this fad long since run its course?
And then behind me a mulatto boy screamed at his mother “I don’t want nothing.” I said to him “that’s a double negative, you don’t want anything.” No, of course I didn’t say that but I really really wanted to.

I’ve mentioned an intention to write a short novel (a novella) in an attempt to capture everything about Peter that I can remember so that it is not lost to posterity. I even went so far as to come up with a working title: The Analysis of Account 3215…A Window Into the Life and Mind of Peter.
I can now report I have begun this novella. I have written nearly 6 typewritten pages totaling 2351 words. My natural inclination would be to write a life story in chronological order but that becomes tedious and boring so I am pulled off in different directions. Thus far I have a very short Preamble and three chapters. The first is titled Peter’s Interface with Academia.
If I can write 50,000 words I estimate this would be 122 pages which might qualify as a novella. I don’t plan to publish chapters or sections on this blog as I did 5 years ago when I told of my 3080 mile motorcycle trip up into Canada and westward to Duluth, MN. I will only spill the beans here if I give up on writing 50K words and self publishing an actual book.

I wonder whether you gals & fellas who work as professional editors & poofreaders, as I do, find that the only way to weed out all of the clinkers, foolpoof, is to correct a hard copy.
I used to do that, when I had insanely liberal access to an office printer, but now that I am working exclusively on-line I cannot afford to print anything.

The only way to “prove” that would be via some kind of actual experiment, or some kind of data set collected by . . . whom?
Such stats probably exist somewhere, so you can go and look for them yourself.
My own experience is that editing/proofreading on-screen is far more efficient and effective than doing so on hard copy. That statement is based on working on Word documents (manuscripts), not on pdfs, and using a standard keyboard, not a touchpad arrangement.
Pdfs are much harder to work with than a double-spaced or 1.5-spaced Word document in a readable typeface, and of course correx are also harder to make, and to see, once made. It is probably true that proofing or even editing a hardcopy is easier than doing so on a pdf of the same document.
