After wolfing down a heartburn-inducing Popeye’s Shrimp Tacklebox Combo for supper, Manhattan District attorney Alvin Bragg retires to his four-poster Sleep Number bed beset with anxiety about the grand jury he has convened for fulfilling his campaign promise to stuff Donald Trump into a state prison cell. From the wall-mounted flat-screen across from his bed, the specter of a of giant rabbit emerges, gaunt and grizzled, draped in chains and weighty padlocks.
“Who are you, spirit?” Bragg asks.
“I am the ghost of prosecutions past,” it moans. “This night you will be visited by three other spirits: The ghost of what you wish to be, the ghost of what should be, and the ghost of actually what-it-is.”
Oh, Gawd,” Bragg groans, his esophagus on fire with acidified hot-sauce residue.
The DA falls back into a febrile sleep, but wakens minutes later. The bedroom of his condo has transformed itself into a sunny street scene. He is riding an open limousine down Broadway through a blizzard of tickertape, the sidewalks filled with cheering citizens. Beside him sits a nubile person of the birthing persuasion, with supernaturally large infant-feeding glands, not unlike a certain star of adult films at the center of his brilliant case against the former president.
“I am the ghost of what you wish to be,” she says, her breath warm in his ear. “You’re a bigger star now than ever I was in life, and without all the mess.”
“Yeah? What’s that up ahead?” he asks.
“The steps of City Hall where you will receive your Nobel Peace Prize and be handed the nomination for governor, your stepping stone to the White House.”
“We gonna have to change the name of that place,” Bragg grumbles.
Suddenly a box appears on Bragg’s lap. It contains two McDonald’s Sausage, Egg, and Cheese McGriddles® plus an apple fritter and a caramel macchiato. No sooner do his teeth close on that first delicious bite, when the confetti in the air turns to pixels, which dissolve along with the street scene, and then Bragg is back in his bed. Laughter rings across the big room, but with a demonic dissonance. A large white man with a silvery mane of hair and a nose like an Appalachian dulcimer, draped in black judicial robes, sits up behind a lofty bench, wearing a scowl of privilege.
“What do you want?” Bragg asks.
“Your law license, asshole.”
“Who do you think you are?”
“I am the spirit of what should be,” the judge-like figure growls.
“This is a racist ploy!” Bragg barks back. “Plus, you got no standing!”
More fiendish laughter from the bench, joined suddenly by a chorus of a million other laughers, people of all sizes, genders, and colors, a collage of Manhattan humanity, each one pointing a finger at Bragg, who retreats in terror under his king-size duvet. The laughter dissolves into Bragg’s own blubbering wails of despair.
The DA wakes a third time, trembling, to the sound of the doorbell, which he tries to ignore, but it keeps on ringing and ringing. Finally, Bragg kicks off the duvet, plods over to the door, and throws it open. A tall, stout, white man with a mystifying platinum hair-doo stands framed within.
“DoorDash, at your service,” the ghost of actually what-it-is says.
“Oh, no….” Bragg cries out, as he is handed a paper bag. He opens it and peers in, only to loose a nauseating stench that instantly fills the room. “Hey, this is not the Build Your Crème Brûlée Pancake Combo from the IHOP,” Bragg complains.
The DoorDash looks at his phone. “It says here you ordered the shit sandwich.”
Bragg feels like his head will explode. He reaches out to strangle the malevolent specter but wakes up choking his Saatva premium pillow instead. Eventually, he comes back to his senses, but feeling utterly drained from the night’s visitations. He washes the night-sweats away in the shower, dons a fine chalk-strip suit the size of a Coleman six-person tent, and meets his driver waiting at the end of his building’s canopy. In the backseat of his city limo there is a bag with his usual breakfast: two Starbuck’s Double-Smoked Bacon, Cheddar & Egg Sandwiches, a blueberry scone, a glazed donut, and a Starbuck’s Reserve® Hazelnut Bianco Latte. He horses it all down in traffic on the way to the DA’s headquarters on Hogan Place.
It is Monday morning, of course, roughly a week after the world was expecting him to issue an indictment against former president Donald Trump for writing off payments to a porn star as a campaign expense. But there was much to think about as the week marched along, much to mull over, many options to consider…the future to assess. The office is spookily quiet as Bragg strides in. An attractive blonde of a certain age approaches him warily.
“Ready to rock and roll, boss?” asks Lisa DelPizzo, Chief of the Trial Division, expecting Bragg to make his historic announcement shortly to the dozens of assembled reporters waiting in the press lobby.
“Get me a ham sandwich,” he grunts. “And bring it down to the grand jury chamber. We got work to do!”

Readers may have noticed my brief experiment with third-party advertisements on this blog. Although I was working with an independent ad management company, the ads ultimately originated from Google’s AdSense program.

It wasn’t long before Google shut down ads on my site and permanently blacklisted my domain from their program.
According to Google, Clusterfuck Nation violates their AdSense rules by publishing what they deem to be “Unreliable and harmful claims.”
The verboten content of my blog, in Google’s opinion, includes “claims that are demonstrably false and could significantly undermine participation or trust in an electoral or democratic process,” statements that promote “harmful health claims or relates to a current, major health crisis and contradicts authoritative scientific consensus,” and content that “contradicts authoritative scientific consensus on climate change.”
The good news is the DOJ is suing Google’s ass with an anti trust suit over its ad market monopoly and is calling for a corporate breakup. We’ll see if Google follows the Get-Woke-Go-Broke trend.
In the meantime, the cost of everything—including running this website—is going up. The number of tech support and tech feature requests has increased drastically over the last few months. I have to pay a small team to manage these requests.

I was born in 1954 so I was not around for what went down in the Korean War, but from what my Dad told me, it was 3 years of bravado followed by a bullshit result. I grew up waiting to be sucked into the 10 years of bravado of the Vietnam War, which culminated with another bullshit ending (I was blessed to be able to avoid that while still fulfilling my responsibilities). America went on to propagate many more bravado wars, all ending in bullshit, capped off nicely by the Afghanistan debacle in which our leaders were stupid enough to repeat lethal errors made by both the British and the Russians. Now our brain-dead leadership engages us in another bravado nightmare replicating lethal mistakes made by both the French and the Germans that will clearly end in bullshit regardless of whether or not it culminates in WWIII.
On the political/leadership front during that same lifetime I have witnessed a slow, methodical degradation in those who rule us, all based in bravado, and all headed towards bullshit endings. “Wait till the midterms”, “Wait till the house changes hands”, wait till this, wait till that, wait till the fucking cows come home, all ending in bullshit, sorry. Words on paper, words in media, words spoken by clowns to gatherings of clowns, all bravado, all resulting in the same bullshit ending.
“Words are for lovers, Merlin. I need a sword!” Sorry Uther Pendragon, your sword did not save you and it shall not save us and neither will words. In the end it shall only be bullshit. Hope? You all know where my hope lies, and until He returns, we are going to have to learn to live on a steady diet of bullshit.

The sense of humor diminishes with age, due to having “heard ’em all” before; it’s all so stale. But this piece is both funny and original.
I agree with Shotho, brilliant, especially how you knew what he ate for breakfast lunch and dinner!
But really we have to laugh at the pathetic attempts of these blowhards to get their face in the spotlight of the corrupt media to promote themselves at all cost.
This would have been a small blip of a column 50 years ago and people would have called it out for what it is… a sham.
Superb satire. This kind of writing is what has kept me coming back to CFN for over 15 years and it’s why I own many of our host’s excellent books. IMHO Jim is vastly underappreciated but it is not his fault – it is because 99% of the general population is too dense, low IQ and low-information to comprehend, much less savor, these tasty morsels that he keeps serving up weekly.
One suspects that Mr. Kunstler will be better recognized as a sage of our age about a century or so after we are all gone from this world. Such has it always been with genius…
Morning Walter – your repetition of words, words, words, got me thinking.
It’s what we teach our little ones, to diffuse them – “Use your words” – when they have some tantrum of disagreement. Children are smart – instinctive – they realize that breaking a little furniture gets a lot more results that talking.
Another good lesson we can learn from our little ones. A day or two before my oldest son was born, some exceedingly wise man told me, “Children come into our lives, not so they can become more like us, but so we can become more like them.” Amen.

Yes, children know it and lawyers know it too. No words alone can ever build anything, solve any physical problem, or stop any calamity from happening, but the right words can relieve you of your freedom, or your assets. After taming the American West with the six-shooter, the lawyers moved in to protect the gains and control the crowds. Now they are bringing it all down upon our heads.

Could one exist without the other? Comedy stems from tragedy and tragedy from us being ass clowns. And that is tragic, yet funny.
Jarek — CS Lewis said Chesterton was the sanest man he’d ever met. And he was wise in the most down to earth way while being funny but honest. One of his close friends was Shaw who he disagreed with politically and thought his ideas about human beings far off the mark.
In The Everlasting Man he takes aim at the theory of evolution and makes a compelling case why it doesn’t make sense. We’re so used to taking it as settled scientific fact, we forget some of the brightest men found it unconvincing.
As one American Indians said of the chimpanzee: He’s a relation, not an ancestor.
A beautiful Indian short prayer of three words: All my relations! emphasizes the interconnected web of life. But it’s not flatland – there are still the heavens and the underworld. Animals are messengers of these other realms, sometimes. Other times they’re other beings, deserving of respect and an apology when he kill and eat them.

There is a general lack of impulse control (or managing one’s temper) in public these days, by kids and adults alike. I pay attention when I see cellphone video or security footage of restaurant brawls, arguments on planes that turn into violent encounters for airline personnel, etc. Engaging with people you do not know is just not worth it. The case that most sticks in my memory was about a guy who shot (and killed) a restaurant worker for giving his mom a cold cheeseburger. He’s going to spend the rest of his life in prison over a cold cheeseburger. When people don’t respect their own lives, they sure as hell won’t respect anyone else’s.
Heavy weed use can trigger violence just as much as other drugs we more typically associate aggressive behavior with can.

For the most part, if 4 guys get drunk they start a fight. If 4 guys get stoned they start a band.

Mrs_saj, I suspect they have impulse control. They simply see no point in using it, since they can indulge themselves in any way they wish with (usually) no consequences. This is a passage that stuck with me through the years from a book by Theodore Dalrymple, a psychiatrist who worked in the prison system in Britain. It’s part of a conversation with a woman who was repeatedly beaten by her boyfriend but claimed he couldn’t help it:
“ ‘Well, when he does it he changes completely; he becomes another person; his eyes stare; it’s like he has a fit. I really think he can’t help it. He’s got no control over it.”
‘Would he do it in front of me, here, now, in this room?’
‘No, of course not.’
‘Then he can help it, can’t he?’
The woman’s desire to avoid a painful dilemma – love him and be beaten, or leave him and miss him – prevented her from asking the very obvious question as to why the ‘fits’ happened only in the privacy of their flat.”
The “fits” we see people indulging in similarly occur only when they know there are no consequences. I’ve worked with children and teens who were taken into custody for their supposed lack of impulse control, whose misbehavior was bad enough to endanger others. Every single one of them could control themselves perfectly provided the incentive was sufficiently strong in terms of a treat or a punishment.
In the case of people who are acting out in public now, I guarantee that almost all of them can summon up impulse control if they think it will benefit them. They weigh the reward against the (rare) consequences and then give themselves permission to go berserk if they see no reason not to.
Rowdy — I’ve known plenty of parents (and I’ll bet you have too) who allow their kids to behave any way they want to in public with no thought to teach them consideration for others. Now they’re adults with zero impulse control and no interest in learning any. Antifa is a perfect example — still throwing fits in public and no consequences.

I have that book! It’s called Life at the Bottom. It’s a real eye opener about poor people who have the answer about why their life sucks, but won’t do anything about it. I’ve read it a few times.
You may be right. But the guy who killed the McDonalds worker over a cold cheeseburger is definitely experiencing the consequences of his actions. Perhaps he didn’t realize he would be charged?

That is great info for anyone reading our thread. I did not know it was available online for free. I bought the paperback long ago (I’m old school with books; kindle is fine for fiction, but non-fiction requires an actual in your hand book).
I highly recommend Life at the Bottom to anyone whose interested in the lies we tell ourselves and the consequences from it. Its not exactly uplifting, but it’s good.
Yeah, never fight a bum. They have nothing to loose. But not all bums are unemployed…..

Mrs_saj, I have most of Dalrymple’s books. He’s one of the very few who can make me laugh at the insanity. Fortunately, they’re physical books so they can’t be expurgated by a “sensitivity reader” and are residing safely on my bookshelves, at least until the book burning begins.
As for the McDonald’s guy, I think if you just let yourself give in to every impulse for long enough without anyone stopping you, you think no one ever will. But even now someone is occasionally actually charged and sentenced. I don’t think it’s a trend.

Janos – if you haven’t seen it, check out the movie Barfly with Mickey Rourke and Faye Dunaway. Dark & depressing, but an interesting study in (destructive) human behavior – but a lot of wisdom in it just the same.
Mrs. – very good points as usual – your comments never disappoint. Actually, more appreciated than you may realize.
Could not agree with you more on the lack of impulse control, and disrespecting others. Having seen the videos you mention, they are perfect promotional material for concealed carry, which I always do.
Not much need where I live, we’re not subject to the animals and the vagrants and the jungle mentality of the big cities, but you can’t ignore the risk of an occasional outlier even in the most serene of settings.
In mentioning “tantrums of disagreement”, I just meant, a little aggression, sometimes gets more results than simple words – the key is “controlled” aggression, not the lack of impulse control you so deftly point out.
In diffusing our children too much, we may inadvertently be eliminating all aggression – which is a disservice to our children. Heaven knows, they need to compete – for everything – mates, careers, jobs, income, material possessions, lastly, resources.
Especially in the multipolar world that’s coming. IMHO, I see that as a plus – nothing wrong with competing – being competitors. Nothing wrong with having outperforming as a goal – it’s controlled aggression.
Now on the words of “breaking furniture”, they do actually carry some weight, and have many times for me personally. Latest case in point:
My wife overpaid a medical bill by $1400. After repeatedly calling the company’s “Billing Department” in some call center in India, I called their physical office 60 miles away and spoke to the office manager.
I politely told her that I would be at their office in one week to pick up a $1400 check and if it wasn’t there, I’d “start breaking furniture” until Accounts Payable came thru.
Don’t you know, I had a had a check in my mailbox 4 days later – saved me an hour-long drive each way. I didn’t threaten anyone, but there’s probably some misdemeanor charge for threatening vandalism, but honestly, I don’t give AF anymore. Every day we’re subject to some kind of run-around.
A final thought – I don’t have much sympathy for the guy who will be doing life over a cold cheeseburger, but my heart breaks for the restaurant worker who lost his or her life over a cold cheeseburger. They are animals. Sorry, but the rabid ones need to be put down.

It is also amazing to me that many of these people know they are on camera or being filmed ad hoc by people with their cell phones and they still do what they do.
In some cases, I really do think it is purely poor impulse control. In other cases, as some folks mentioned here, it is a complete disconnect with consequences; their parents never imposed consequences and neither did the school system or even the court system.
I understand your point about controlled aggression and wanting kids to understand there’s a time and place for all things. Certainly sports is one such time and place and can offer kids a great metaphor for life. Competition can teach kids about discipline, courage, and fair play. Other examples of this (off the field) might be the ability to say “no”, standing up to a bully, or having good personal boundaries.
Your “breaking furniture” story made me laugh. Your wife must have been furious with the medical billing department. JHK has written at length, about the medical rackets as well as the sheer fiction of the bills. I think it was after he had his hip replaced and was drowning in paperwork.
It reminded me of when my husband (who had 2 mRNA shots and was not thrilled with the side effects) was told at work that the company (50 employees) was going to require vaxxination for everyone. He didn’t even flinch. His answer? “Let me know what date you’re putting on that memo. I want to use the same date on my letter of resignation.” And it worked, no mandates!
I was so proud and I’ll bet your wife feels the same way about your furniture breaking gambit.

You should be exceedingly proud of your husband as I am, his actions were self-sacrificing, Christ-like, in that he was willing to suffer – a loss of income & employment – in the defense of his co-workers.
After being vaccinated himself, he had no dog in the fight – simply looking out for the free choice of others – a noble gesture not seen much anymore. The world needs more men like the Mr.
Hopefully you all have a lot of children – if the girls grow up with the Mrs. as a role model & the boys grow up with the Mr. as a role model – the world will be a better place.

I am not a Doom & Gloomer or a Buzzkill people, sorry but I just know that the decay and degradation are simply not going to be stopped or reversed “by any power that we here possess, Gimli, Son of Gloin”, and here is why.
I listen to Tony Perkins of FRC radio on the way to work on Sunday mornings on his show “Weekend Washington Watch”. He interviews senators, congressmen, and all sorts of other political types on current issues. On Sunday morning he interviewed a congressman and was very pleased with the congressional committee investigating the Weaponization of the Justice Department. After listening to this fellow, Tony asked how the committee was planning on achieving reformation of the failure to enforce the law on the owner’s buddies while bastardizing the law to destroy the political enemies of their rulers. “Well, we do control the purse strings and can defund the offending agencies maybe in August or September, although it would have to pass the senate and the executive branch as well.”
Big fricken whoop! That’s it? That all you got? They didn’t end on a very hopeful note and after suggesting a physically impossible sexual act for both of them, I shut the radio off in disgust. In a nation that has replaced God with money, money becomes god and no mere human can battle even a false god successfully. The Goons with Uzi’s and sunglasses serve the money, and they with the most money are their man-gods for whom they will do any and all things they are commanded to do. The congress doesn’t control the money, hell, they can’t even account for where half of it goes or comes from in the first place. I have children and now grand-children. I watch them grow up. I see the same sort of trial and error, lessons learned and not learned in both nations.
I cannot help but wonder sometimes how they were so lucky as to be born in our family. They are like chosen people too, when I consider the sort of “families” that many children grow up in in this time of lessened morals.
The Fed (at least as far as I can tell) is what’s really running the show but they are a private bank that’s presented to us as a public institution. Why are they setting interest rates, printing digital money (to flood the banks with quantitative easing) and deciding who gets bailed out? Ron Paul has been trying for decades to expose them and it was by his efforts they were audited after 2008. At that time, according to Bloomberg News, the bailout to taxpayers was 27 TRILLION dollars. But it was yanked from the news quickly.
Because they can SW. That was why counterfeiting any currency used for the exchange of goods and services was so important to prevent. Any entity that could simply print up currency without backing it with anything of true value could eventually own everything and leave nothing left for anybody else.
That is the point we are almost at now, and when enough of the general public realizes that our exchange system no longer has any real value, why that is when it all craps out.
People need to study the history of Depression Scrip. Back in the 1930s all kinds of businesses and local areas issued their own currency, much like the most recent Ithica Hours and a few others.
People on the local level should band together to issue their own currency and get rid of the US Dollar. This currency can only be used locally, or if someone else brings in a currency from several hundred miles away it is accepted but discounted accordingly. This is what many businesses did in the 1860s when regional banks printed their own currency prior to the Fed.
Another case in point is Civil War tokens. As a result of coin shortages, all kinds of merchants issued cent sized tokens that were used for commerce. This had a double bonus, since it was free advertising for the business on the token.

My sister-in-law in Norwich used to host European school kids doing organised activities, English classes and whatnot, back when her own kids were young. She went to a lot of trouble cooking nice meals for a French boy they had and he just wanted to go to ‘Macdo’ with his friends. That was back in the early 90s.
From my own observation, McDonalds may be on shaky ground and could go the way of Howard Johnsons. For example, this morning I dropped my wife at the Dr. Office for a physical & walked over to the McDonalds next door. This was in the middle of breakfast time & the place was dead.
Probably a local thing. They do huge business up here among the labbies scurrying off to work. That said, they do well on the weekends as well. Must be conditioned response.

Our McDonald’s abandoned their original location and built a brand spankin’ new drive thru facility a block away, complete with kiosk ordering if you happen to go inside. Not many do. But I think they had local tax incentives for all this. Then the Starbuck’s abandoned their downtown store and converted the old MickyD’s to a Starbuck’s drive thru only, so now the impatient chuckleheads can get their coffee to go and slop it all over their expensive cars. They have another store in the Smith’s shopping center, so it probably won’t be long before that one goes belly up as well. Smith’s was really pushing online ordering and deliveries during Covid, but I don’t think it caught on. Don’t see the order pickers in the store much anymore. Maybe next pandemic.

Like in Hong Kong, when we were told that citizens were outraged that a murderer might be extradited, so they rioted for 6 months, even after the government backed down.

The governor of Georgia took a $7,000,000 payment thru an account set up by his wife. That account existed for only a few days – set up, accepted payment and closed the account. The payment was not from Dominion, it was from China.
Sidney Powelll and Julie Rudiani presented this and stacks of other evidence of election fraud and were turned away because they had “no standing.” No court in the land would hear them.

There was a great piece online from the guy who was supposed to be in Fauci’s role. Said Trump personally called him to DC to look into the Covid nonsense right at the start of the theater. He made the trip and spent weeks in a hotel while people from Trump’s team told him to be patient. Turns out there were a few holdovers there who were forming the pandemic team withholding all kinds of info. from Trump, as well as blocking some of his picks for various roles.

I have read in several places that Ivanka was making appointments w/ help from her husband, kind of a “daddy, I want to be president too!” deal. In my view, the entire educational system in the USA is the root cause of all the mental illness in the country in the first place. This will only become obvious post collapse. It will be impossible for broke governments to come up with the resources to support the incredibly costly and energy hungry system we have now. We have giant schools with kids being bused and driven to them on traffic clogged roads. JHK says this seemed like a good idea at the time. During collapse, after a few years of no school whatsoever and general chaos and crisis everywhere, parents will be astonished at how well their home schooling goes. Some home schools with larger classes will happen in private homes converted to private neighborhood schools. All of these type schools will be within walking distance of students’ homes. Compulsory education will be gone and no men with guns will show up to force kids into schools. Children will walk to school again because no resources and no diesel will be available for the big yellow buses. Those huge mega-schools will be repurposed into local sweatshop factories for making shoes and clothing, or be demolished and scrapped.
But in the meantime before sanity and reality returns to education, the mental illness everywhere will continue to get worse because each year the schools get worse and less connected from reality, The delusional college educated females running elementary education – these females are barking mad themselves and in no position to lead a child anywhere except into woke madness. What goes on in schools now is poorly disguised child abuse. The teachers are sick and so are the students.
The other giant predator institution that will make a massive bang and a huge cloud of dust when it collapses is our “health care system”. The older kids were expected to help the younger ones, which you might think would cause confusion all round. The kids loved being responsible for some part of what the younger ones learned.

Scotland is a devolved member nation of the UK (which is made up of two nations, one principality and one province) with certain powers accruing to the UK (e.g. defence), along with certain powers of veto, like the one recently exercised with respect to the SNP’s Gender Self-Identity Bill (specifically because it conflicts with the UK’s Equality legislation from decades ago – in terms of women’s rights.
In reality, Humza is accountable to Klaus, in exactly the same way as Boris, Liz and now Rishi were/are responsible to Klaus, so while he has certainly made some noises about Scottish institutions being ‘too white’, his being a Muslim (presumably) is not the most worrying thing about him. Kate Forbes was largely rejected for being a member of the Free Church of Scotland, which is slightly stricter than the Church of Scotland. Humza doesn’t talk about religion, as far as I know. I have no idea whether or not he is a practising Muslim, but I’m sure he’d sell his granny for political power, and I don’t imagine he has any more loyalty to Islam than he has to her (assuming she’s still around).
Technically speaking, of course, no-one is ever elected as Prime Minister in the UK. Americans confuse our system with their presidential system. Party leaders are elected by their party and automatically become Prime Minister if their party is elected to power.
At the risk of boring people even further with the minutiae of the SNP election, it’s probably not the entire truth to say Humza doesn’t talk about religion. I’ve never paid that much attention to him, although I know he’s dangerous.
He made his support for gay marriage clear, which is not a Muslim position. I don’t know what he said on abortion, but he presumably holds a similar view (insofar as he can be said to have views at all).
And Kate Forbes didn’t choose to speak about her religious affiliations. She was – naturally grilled about them by the press, which was determined to paint her as a ‘bigot’. She only said she wouldn’t consider abortion herself, personally, and that she didn’t approve of gay marriage and wouldn’t have voted for it, but she was clear that she has always supported the decisions of Parliament on such matters, regardless of her personal views.
But the press was out to get her and I don’t think they harrassed Humza in the same way about his religion (or lack of it). She actually did very well (48% of the vote). In the second round, Ash Regan’s votes appear to have gone to Kate Forbes. She’s one of the few competent SNP ministers (Finance) and would doubtless have walked it had it not been for the campaign to make her look like a religious bigot.
In other words, Alba takes refuge in the technical aspects. She’s completely comfortable with non-Scots ruling Scotland since it’s all just a random assortment of INDIVIDUALS to begin with.

I just looked up membership requirements for joining the party. The ‘gender’ drop down menu in the application form includes ‘male, female, non-binary, rather not say, and self-describe’.
It has ‘youth membership’ (£2/year, since you ask) which is under-16, but I imagine you’d have to be 16 to vote in a leadership contest, but that still increases the woke vote, probably, compared to 18.

Estrogen was shown to be dangerous for women decades ago. How could it be safe for men? We already know it causes blood clots.

Hormone blockers are also dangerous. They are approved for older men with prostate cancer, not for stopping normal growth and development in children. The side effects are also dangerous, for old men and for children. They have already been shown to cause interference in normal bone and brain development, as well as in the targeted sexual organs.

I tried looking up declining US life expectancy. All three links that I went to seemed to at least partially conflict with each other. One site had a breakdown by race for 2019, showing that the Hispanic life expectancy declined by 3 years, the black life expectancy by 2.9 years, and the white life expectancy by 0.7 years. These were the figures for “2019 to 2020,” which, to my mind, means January 1st 2019 to January 1st 2020. That’s huge, if true–and that’s for 2019.
I suppose the way you arrive at life expectancy by year is to record each person’s age-at-death during that year. Now, if you did it this way, you could see a greatly decreased AVERAGE life expectancy if you had large numbers of people dying in their teens and twenties (or younger); i.e., gang violence or drug overdoses. This is why life expectancies in the 1800s are so low: They average in a very high infant mortality rate. If you lived till you were ten, you’d likely make it to 90.
But even so, the big reduction in 2019 seems weird. And apparently the average dropped by another two years during the next year or two. I’m unclear on when they were talking about. One site even said that white life expectancy edged up during one of those years. Very confusing.

In Humanist psychology, Maslow and others have said that the mature human will gradually grow into the values of the opposite sex – without having to “transition”, become bisexual or anything like that.
In Jungian terms, both men and women have a bit of the opposite sex in them, men an “anima” and women, an animus. Robert Bly of the Men’s Movement (see his “Iron John”) used this idea to advance the theory that the animus (or the feminine in men) is eating them alive since the masculine isn’t allow to blossom by single mothers, female teachers, and the general anti-male zeitgeist. So instead of being integrated later, after healthy masculine and egoic development, it grows like a weed choking out the healthy growth.
Is something similar now happening to girls in regards to their animus?

Yes. Of course I can only speak for the area of the world I live in but essentially yes. And also understanding this is a media driven thing in large part. Men are associated with bad while women are shown to be be good and wonderful at everything. This creates too much of a dichotomy even for those who believe it. Thus masculinity becomes an area that needs to be understood, policed and brought into the realm of working for the good. Masculinity becomes a project and a process of cleansing that which is bad and unclean. And there are benefits. Less pressure about appearance and perceived freedom to express and emote differently and perhaps more freely. Less pressure to be perfect. There really is much to unpack here imo.
I do like to try to understand and empathize where someone is coming from though of course that is simply not completely possible. But I always feel bad for those coming across adversity. I rational, sane, and realistic society is good to the extent it exists. But people make up society. So understanding what makes people tick is important. But yes there is a a point where there are norms and that is maybe the main issue. The elites are trying to destroy all norms so they can rebuild a society they own. Existing norms being removed are obstacles for them.

I don’t know that the world believes that men are bad or less than; I certainly don’t. But, on the left, TPTB seem to be propagandizing that view. I can understand why you might think the world believes it. That slogan of “believe all women” (in reference to sexual assault/ harassment) is a great example of the propaganda. What kind of craziness is that? The slogan should be “all accusations must be investigated”. Neither sex has cornered the market on truthfulness or on lying. To say otherwise is absurd. Rape is real and underreported and accusations should be investigated so that rapists can be removed from society.
There are other examples, the eternally fumbling husband in sitcom-land tv, five foot tall female martial arts experts who can out fight any man in a movie plot, etc.

I absolutely don’t believe that men are of less value, and I’ve never said anything to that effect. I’ve been occasionally accused of not valuing women, but that’s not the case either. We do things differently and have different gifts.
Until recently, men ran most things outside the home. When the things that men run fail, they fail in ways that are characteristic of men, and we recognize those ways. There are characteristic ways of failing that are particular to women, but we’re just beginning to be aware of what they are. I point them out for that reason, whereas men’s failings are already well known.
As an example, the Munchausen by Proxy-type trans activisim we see in mothers is rarely if ever seen in men; it’s a woman thing, and it manifests where women run things and can get away with it. That’s not to say that some men don’t make use of it for their own reasons.

I know I harp on this point, but men and women are different and, if we admit that fact (and I think most here do) it’s implicit that they operate out in the world in ways that are characteristic of their sex. Women are much more apt than men to attack in covert ways with gossip and manipulation; men just openly bludgeon their enemies.
Having seen this play out in the form of office politics, I can extrapolate to how it would manifest in the military, for instance. I think the presence of women there is ruinous for this and other reasons. The equivalent to a killer instinct in women expresses itself differently from that of men. We had an “all-hands” meeting for our directorate, which is basically a PR fest for the Division Leaders to get up and practice their public speaking skills while bragging on their Divisions, one of which included the Occupational Medicine Group, which had been tasked with administering the vaxxes. I of course tuned in virtually for the festivities from home. The Group Leader had everyone stand for a stretch break, after which she asked everyone to clap for the efforts of her group during the “pandemic.” Gratuitous nonsense, but what the hell, I said to myself at home. The camera panned the audience, and I noticed one guy in particular who remained standing with his arms firmly folded across his torso, appearing quite resolute. Oopsie daisy! Bad PR! I had to admire his effort, but I’m sure he wasn’t the only one in the audience who felt that way.
The lab has, by the way, given up on their silly vaxx and booster mandates, for the time being at least, but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of them yet.

In a stretch of one mile I passed only one individual on foot… a slow-moving twenty something male blimp with an expressionless face. I would have taken even money that beneath his nondescript jacket was a flabby bicep encircled by a tattoo of barbed-wire obtained as an expression of his uniqueness.

Well, women’s studies don’t exist anymore. It’s been replaced by gender studies entirely.
None of the women I know who taught or majored in women’s studies etc. hated men, and I’ve known quite a few of them. They all got married and had kids, even the lesbians (but of course not to men).
I see that Rutgers now calls the major Department of Women’s and Gender Studies. I wonder if any men have taken this major.

Many women figured this out early, when the trans agenda started picking up steam. Also 100% spot on, great point: Women have been taught/groomed in recent times to reverse all of the natural instincts we have to protect ourselves against predatory men. If we feel uncomfortable in an elevator with some creepy dude and leave, we’re “impolite” or a bigot. Women need to start listening to their instincts again instead of worrying about hurting men’s feelings.
And men need to man up and stop creeping on women, as Jarek does here*, and be good examples by embracing fatherhood, hard work and being a good partner. There is nothing wimpy about that. And women and men need to listen to their instincts, protect their kids from online groomers, accept mutual support, understand the differences between the sexes, and make it work.
I would hold up Paula D as a great example of a balanced partnership. She and her hubs definitely get how it’s supposed to work. Kudos, Paula. Green Alba also gets it, she has managed to maintain a strong relationship with her husband despite their differences.
*Healthy societies have no place for perverted fetishists. In times when society here in the US was much more balanced, they were relegated to their own places like sleazy nightclubs or their mother’s basement, or, if they chose to do their shit in public, jail. A few months ago I penned an op-ed for the local paper saying the Dem-choked house/senate/governorship is going to steal the “unprecedented” $18B “surplus” the state held after “covid” holdover funds and gross overtaxing (instead of, ya know, returning it to the taxpayers…I mean, who couldn’t use $4,500 of their own money?). I suggested people raise hell or it’ll happen.
Well, even if people did raise hell (they didn’t)…the government took it all anyway. Shazam! Poof. Gone.
With all the new gimme programs, diversity/inclusion crap, committees, focus groups, UBI “pilot programs”, reparations programs (actually being considered for real now, even though MN was always a free state), free school breakfast and lunch for all, easy home loans and down payment grants for “oppressed homebuyers” (none for the Norwegians, Swedes, Slavs, and Germans though, fuck them), and scores of new unnecessary/unidentifiable/unmeasurable/unaccountable/meaningless government positions created, our state budget has now grown by $18B per year in virtual perpetuity. The previous annual budget was just shy of $50B, btw.
They don’t seem to realize that a surplus one year does not mean we will have those funds available each year. That matters not! Ahoy! These somehow-elected community activists have never owned a business and seen what happens when a good year is followed by a bad year. But hey – they have “the best of intentions”. Onward and upward!
So the state budget shall now be 1/3 larger for the foreseeable future. This was done, as our former primary school social studies teacher/governor so eloquently stated, with “much compromise”, even though they hold all of the reins of power. No compromise took place, nor did it need to. The GOP stood, collective dick in hand, and looked at its shoes. Dems cheered and patted their collective back, and jovially at that.
The St. Paul mayor is now (again, within a month’s time) suggesting raising city sales taxes to “pay for street repairs” (pot holes everywhere), even though he already raised the sales tax for that reason, as well as raising property taxes 15% this year (which has always covered street repairs since the beginning of time). But hey, reparations has a budget, so thank Baphomet for that. And the Third Assistant Senior Director of Diversity/Equity/Inclusion has everything they need to find new things to complain about, as well as their 27 underlings and their subsequent staffs.
So, this naturally makes perfect sense…the governor is putting over $6M into refurbishing his governor’s mansion (on the taxpayer dime), as well as leasing a 7,900 sq-ft lake home residence (also on the taxpayer dime) at $17k/month for the next two years. Hey, the guy has to have a place (or places) to live, right? Might as well be nice ones. On top of that deal is 15k for new carpets at the lake home. Hey – perhaps the wife didn’t like the old carpet. Make sense to me.
They are now trying to ban Native American school mascots statewide (cuz…dunno), even against the wishes of Native Americans who revere the representation, and even designed the mascots decades ago. It’ll pass.
They are now trying to mandate semester-long ethnic studies (CRT) classes for all K-12 students (to be “standard curriculum”) within the next few years. It’ll pass, too.
They are now making us a sanctuary state for any and all “oppressed” minority group, real or imagined, including “gender affirming” surgery for kids *of any age* (GOP bill language attempts ignored) from other states whose parents won’t be able to legally challenge such “affirming” “care” from the laws of their sane home states. Those parents will be treated as abusive parents, with the obligatory limited rights that come with that designation, under the new law. Driver’s licenses for all. Fuck it, laws don’t matter. We’ll make new ones. And they’ll all pass.
They are now letting 15 yr-old armed carjackers/murderers back on the street the next day with probation because our DA says kid’s brains don’t fully develop until they’re 25, yet they celebrate cutting off a 14 yr-old’s junk and ruining his/her life if the confused kid feels it necessary at the time.
These folks are not fucking around. We’re only three months into their tenure, and they are not taking their foot off the gas pedal to even stop to take a leak.
Anyway, we clearly need to move.

Oh, the power utility company covered up a tritium spill from a nuclear plant for the last four months, just upstream of the Twin Cities. No worries though…it’s “contained”. No groundwater contamination. They said so! Phew.

To make my point I will use wildly unrealistic numbers: If there were 1000 people in the U.S. and we added 10% via immigration that is 100 additional people and we absorb them easily. If there are 300 million people and we add 5% (half the previous rate) that is 15 million additional people. There are times when the rate of immigration is not particularly relevant. There comes a time when the absolute number of additional beings is all important.
You seem to believe (or so you say) that the U.S. has no problem with population density. If you take all the land area of the U.S. and divide by the population you might get the impression (if you are a sophist) that we are sparsely populated but how many could survive in the deserts of Arizona or the Yukon in Alaska. New Jersey, on the other hand, is one of the most densely populated places on earth.
Contrary to several of your remarks there are obvious detrimental effects to quality of life caused by over-crowding. A society can go along adding more and more population with no harmful effect and, in fact, experience positive effects, until some unknown but intuitively sensed tipping point is approached or reached and all hell begins to break loose. Google “stress from over-crowding” or “violence due to over-crowding.” There are innumerable articles. Even in the animal world we have all seen studies where too many rats are confined in a given space and violence erupts.

Musings on DARVO and Nashville.
DARVO means:
DARVO stands for “Deny, Attack, and Reverse Victim and Offender.” The perpetrator or offender may Deny the behavior, Attack the individual doing the confronting, and Reverse the roles of Victim and Offender such that the perpetrator assumes the victim role and turns the true victim — or the whistle blower — into an alleged offender. This concept is very handy. I have had to put up with a lot of DARVO within my family.

The Nashville incident has kind of turned DARVO on its head, because the supposedly permanent villains and victimizers (white Christians) are clearly the victims now.

And within the context of Nashville, the official victims (transgender people) who have internalized their role as exposing DARVO and pushing back against it, now find themselves the targets of DARVO pushback and DARVO self-defense.
They have nothing to say except more DARVO pushback that htey are used to. Accusing others of pulling a DARVO maneuver on them. So, we have two groups competing for the right to push back against the DARVO Defense they are getting from each other.

Now those who labeled the cops simple black killers were now obliged to mount a DARVO Defense, but it was difficult with Lady Justice’s finger always resting on the race scale.
Call it the DARVO Dilemma.
