There was Scott Pelley of CBS’s 60-Minutes show on Sunday night — the prime-time slot of the new week — all cued up to run interference for the US State Department (and other Deep State “actors”) in the propaganda war over Ukraine. Let’s be brutally frank and get this out of the way: can you really trust either the US news media or the US government to tell you the truth?
Of course, you can’t. You have been boldly lied-to by them with absolute consistency for years now. Common knowledge, which is common sense’s twin sister, has it that the CIA “owns” The Washington Post, the FBI owns The New York Times, and the State Department owns CBS-News. All are conduits for official narratives. And since the State Department is most of all responsible for the Russian clean-up operation now underway in Ukraine, you can bet that CBS-News is in on the info-grift to protect State, its patron.
What Russia had to clean-up was the long-building after-effects of now Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland’s 2014 engineered Maidan coup against the elected government of President Viktor Yanukovych. The issue of that bygone day was a tug-of-war between the US and Russia, with Ukraine as the flag in the middle of the rope. Russia wanted Ukraine in the orbit of its economic “customs union” and the US was affecting to pull Ukraine into the Eurozone and NATO — or, at least, use Ukraine as a forward base for NATO, in order to antagonize Russia.
Russia has been the all-purpose hobgoblin that every US agency and many political personages turn to when they are caught doing something nefarious. When Hillary Clinton’s email trove was purloined through her poorly-defended illegal home server, Russia was to blame. That fiasco spawned the multi-year RussiaGate operation that bamboozled half the nation and ended up tainting the FBI, the DOJ, the FISA Court, and both the House and Senate Intel committees.
Then, along came Hunter Biden’s laptop, infamously labeled “Russian disinformation” by every retired senior intel spook still drawing a fat pension. The news about the laptop and its lurid contents was strenuously suppressed by every mainstream media company except The New York Post, and its coverage was banished from Facebook and Twitter which so many Americans rely on for news — an obvious and true conspiracy between government, high tech, and the news media.
All this coincided, you understand, with the horror-show official response to Covid-19 coming on the scene at exactly the same time: winter of 2019-2020. By then, half the country had already been groomed into a mass formation psychosis over the RussiaGate narrative that declared President Donald Trump was a stooge for Vladimir Putin… thus, Trump derangement.
There is the possibility that Covid-19 was hauled onstage deliberately to terrorize the American public, confound Mr. Trump, and prevent his reelection in November 2020. Hence, the panicky scramble ever since spring, 2020, among Anthony Fauci, Peter Daszak of the shadowy EcoHealth Alliance, and other public health officials to ward off the suspicion that Covid-19 was created in the Wuhan lab with American sponsorship, and released for the aforesaid purpose of queering the election. Mr. Daszak notoriously put together a paper for the preeminent British medical journal The Lancet, using a roster of medical luminaries to denounce the “lab leak” theory. The Lancet eventually had to withdraw the paper. The Lancet’s reputation will be diminished for years to come, merely one manifestation of medicine’s more general moral collapse and eventual total collapse.
Meanwhile, in the winter of 2020, came impeachment number one of Mr. Trump, provoked by CIA White House mole Eric Ciaramella and his companions-in-sedition Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman of the NSC, and Intel Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson. At issue, you recall, was Mr. Trump’s phone call with Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zylenskyy, inquiring about rumored grifting operations among the Bidens in that foreign land. Managing Ukraine, you remember, was in Veep “Joe Biden’s” assigned portfolio of duties. The impeachment segued seamlessly into the Covid panic, distracting the public’s attention from the issues behind the impeachment, namely: what exactly was the Biden family up to in Ukraine, with crackhead Hunter pulling in millions in walking-around money from the Burisma oil-and-gas company? That turned out to be just the tip of the grift-berg.
Ten days before President Trump declared a national emergency over Covid 19 and the ensuing lock-downs, on March 3, 2020, the Super Tuesday primary was held. Joe Biden trailed badly with support in single-digits. Somehow, he miraculously trounced the rest of the field. The narrative constructed afterward attributed the miracle to a single endorsement from Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina. (Dominion vote-counting machine hijinks, anyone?) Voila: there is your Democratic Party nominee, the former Veep, “Joe Biden,” not altogether sound of mind, compromised by already-revealed foreign influence-peddling, a malleable figure fronting for a Deep State cabal. Special Covid-19 election procedures (mail-in ballots) shooed him straight into the White House (thanks for your “help,” Mark Zuckerberg).
What you have here is an interesting chain of circumstance: Ukraine, 2014, the astounding flop of Hillary… RussiaGate… the mystifying Democratic primary race… the Ukraine-based impeachment… the Covid-19 fiasco (including deadly mRNA vaccines) … the election of “Joe Biden”… and now Ukraine again. The American Deep State is in a heap of deep trouble. It’s impossible anymore to hide its turpitudes. Even The New York Times and the WashPo have been forced to confess that Hunter Biden’s laptop is for-real, including the thousands of incriminating memoranda and emails on it, along with all the selfie-porn and drugging. It’s obvious that the “president” of the US is corrupt and compromised. Doesn’t look too good.
Additionally, the Deep State must now try to hide the emerging attempted mass murder of the US population via the side effects of the Covid-19 “vaccines.” But the information can’t be hidden anymore and is, in fact, bursting out from unexpected places, for instance, from the life-insurance quarterly actuarial reports which show unprecedented “all-causes” deaths and injuries among people under 60-years-old. We know how this happened. On top of the deadly “vaccines,” introduced with falsified trials, the Deep State suppressed early treatment medications (is still at it, in fact), and instead forced protocols with the deadly drug remdesivir. In sum, America’s government has capped years of lying and conniving via high tech and the news media by killing its citizens. Rochelle Walensky & Company are still urging the public to vaxx-up and “boost.” How is that not criminal?
So, Ukraine is back onstage and the Deep State made sure it would be by refusing to rule out Ukraine joining NATO and by arming and subsidizing a large army that has spent eight years shelling and terrorizing the Russian-speaking population of Donbas in eastern Ukraine. Mr. Zelenskyy apparently was led to believe that NATO would come to his rescue, the poor chump, wherever he really is. CBS-News would have you believe that Russia is perpetrating war crimes by bombing hospitals in Ukraine. What they don’t tell you is that the hospitals were turned into fortresses by the Nazi-inflected Azov brigades.
They also would like you to believe that the Russian operation is a flop. That is not so, though it surely was not a cakewalk. What’s left of the Ukraine army (including its Azov brigades) is cut off from communication, out of diesel fuel, out of ammo, out of food, and soon to be shut down altogether. When that happens, Ukraine will not be used to make needless trouble in the world. The sanctions imposed on Russia have successfully destroyed the financial scaffold of the global economy so that an economic collapse of the nation states in Western Civ is a sure thing. The lingering question: will the hardships to come only reinforce America’s mass formation psychosis, or will it compel us to wake up and pay attention to the attempted suicide of our country?

I’m no expert on scripture but I differ with what I presume your definition of WANT is. Your WANT goes something like this: “I WANT a shiny brand-spanking new 1200cc BMW Adventure Bike.”
My version of WANT is: finding myself in the very uncomfortable position of having unfulfilled NEEDS.

Gotta be honest, Jim. If they haven’t yet woken up, they’re not going to be of much use to those of us who have, that is, if and when they ever do.
I agree lizharmon, they are not going to wake up because they are not asleep – they are dead from the neck up. The best they can ever be is an obstacle to correction.
I have to agree..that programming and general decline in intelligence have left us with a majority who will believe and do anything authority figures/talking heads tell them to do…Milgram Experiment anyone? If they will administer electric shock torture because someone told them to, they’ll do anything, including vaxxing their poor kids to death…

I have a friend who is a dietary specialist nurse and who’s son is a 16 year old endurance athlete. I recall telling her in 2020 that the tipping point for the sanity of the American people was whether they would gleefully submit their children to gene alteration (AKA mRNA “vaccination”) out of fear of a virus which virtually never affects children. Well, we now know the answer. Her son is now triple jabbed ( and is now 9 times more likely to suffer from myocardial infraction than if he had remained unmolested.)
This morning a new family were moving into the house across the street. All fully masked while outside. And this two years after all the actual scientific studies concluded that masks are totally ineffective against the nano-sized COVID virus molecules, and nearly a year since even the CDC admitted to the fact.
There is no known cure for mass psychosis (AKA brain parasites) apart from death.
A few years back I was delivering a sailboat down from Boston to warmer climes. The voluntary crew were high powered lawyers and property agents– all Jewish. As sometimes will happen in close quarters, the conversation strayed too close to the heart. When I referenced the Milgram experiments in support my contention that Americans are every bit as capable of manning the gas ovens as were their German counterparts they refused to speak to me for the duration of the voyage.
Unfortunately the history of Dr. Mengele and Dr. Fauci proves my point.

Your post makes me weep, and laugh. You are so right. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve explained that the holes in the mask are sized in a range that averages around 200 micrometers. The covid viruses are sized in a range that averages around 125 nanometers.

In his discussion of the operation of mass formation, Dr. Matthias Desmet offered the way to deal with this fear is to bring along greater fear (totalitarianism).
I think he is correct. The difficulty as I see it is diverting people’s fear away from the unseen ‘virus’ and towards the totalitarian state which has formed and is now in growth stage.
It might be there is a need to experience the totalitarianism for the distinguishing of fears to become a reality.
The tough part about totalitarianism, in this perspective, is how does one get rid of enough of it, or at least put a lid on it for a while, thus allowing fear of it to take hold.
I’ll be curious to see the reaction to food shortages and empty shelves later this year. Everyone including Biden has warned the American people. Yet most people I know are oblivious to the problem, perhaps their minds are numb with crisis overload.

I offered this idea to someone who has a few acres zoned as farm land in an anotherwise suburban setting.

I’m in a very rural area, and so are my daughter and her husband. My daughter recently told me that someone had cut down and hauled away quite a number of walnut trees. One of the trees was on a property they had recently purchased but had not yet moved into. The others were on an adjacent property (vacant land).
Then she told me that someone had butchered a cow from a nearby pasture and taken the meat. They left the remains of the carcass in the field.
So this type of thing is going on right now to some extent.
A Hollywood Community Garden, what an intriguingly idea. In my mind’s eye I can already see the rupaul rhubarb, sylvester melones, okra winfrey, christian kale, channing potatum, kiwi hermann, elvis parsley, cherry seinfeld, heidi plums, joaquinoa phoenix, and the big boss barackolli obama.
Not oblivious, in denial, it’s what they do. I have attended numerous training sessions given by our county prosecutor’s office on mass casualty incidents and whenever and wherever they happen, the first thing out of everyone’s mouth on the scenes is “I didn’t think it could happen here”! Should be shortened to “I didn’t think” if you ask me, but in order to keep the consumers consuming, they must be not only distracted but led to believe that nothing bad can ever happen to them, only to other people.

I was out in the local suburban shopping moonscape this weekend to get some tools and the normies were all out consooooooming, especially at the lousy chain restaurants that get all their product from the back of a truck.
React Now. Yesterday I placed 10, 15″ x 20″ plywood propagation boxes onto a South-facing window sill. Today I’ll be planting seeds galore, more than I ever have before, to make the most of what the National Gardening Association defines as my 78 frost-free growing season.
I urge every American, especially those who live in the more challenging northern-third of the country, to do everything he/she can to mitigate the shortages and rising prices that are already here.

My daughter and I are planning a big garden this year. (She is next door to me.) Between the two of us, we have about 60 tomato seedlings, plus many other vegetables. The onions, garlic, and carrots are already planted. My daughter has chickens and goats, and I’ll be taking over a small flock of chickens this year, as she is planning a bigger flock for herself. She also raises a hog or three every summer, for fall butchering.
Our next-door neighbors have field pigs, a cow, some goats, and chickens and ducks.
My daughter has one of those fancy NESCO electric canners, in addition to one (or maybe it’s two) of the old-fashioned canners. I bought one of the NESCO kind as a housewarming present for a daughter who, with her husband, recently bought a house on a small acreage. I have an old-time MIRRO canner, but I’m thinking I should get a NESCO for myself. They are out of stock right now, so I guess I’d better grab one next time they are in stock.

Food shortages, empty shelves and famine have been the catalyst, at least historically, that foment revolution of the starving masses against the corrupt, despotic governments that created the horrific conditions.
The situation in America today however is very, very different than anything that the past has seen. Our nation has a huge population of huge behemoths who are so bloated that even their cars and houses had to be built twice the size of the norm just to accommodate the gargantuan motherfuckers. These people are going to get really, really hungry when shortages are in full swing, but I for one cannot see them getting off of their super-sized butts to do anything about it. My guess is that most of them are simply too fat to fight. There has never been an army of the obese that ever won a single battle in history.
My guess is that they are just going to squeal for a while and drop dead. A fitting end if you ask me, and I hope that the Good Lord can forgive me for saying all this, but it has been very, very frustrating to watch it happening in my lifetime. I do not think that I could ever be a good enough follower of Jesus Christ to take the same attitude that He would have had towards the poor, misguided fools. Forgive me Father.
I have to agree. Spent the weekend with my family. These are intelligent people. They were bubbling with excitement at the prospect of two vaccinations per year forever. At this point, I figured mentioning ivermectin was a non-starter, so the conversation was dropped.
At first I was surprised that our nation of pill poppers would choose a jab over a pill, but then it struck me. The consumers may have no aversion to taking pills, but far too many of them are so damned lazy that perhaps the idea of a couple of “free” shots every once and a while is less work and so “more desirable”. Also, how many times do you hear that people are too lazy or forgetful to finish the whole prescription, the remnants of which populate medicine cabinets around the country.
The easy way out is always easier, yet seldom better, but that fact is not popular with our culture anymore is it?
My real concern was that they had blithely cruised right past data that raised a number of concerns:
1) The vaccines don’t prevent disease and their effectiveness wanes in a matter of months, and perhaps even predisposes one to disease during the waning months.
2) The vaccines carry significant and serious risks and may cause permanent injury.
3) Therapies based around off-label drugs such as fluvoxamine, ivermectin, HCQ were safer and more effective than the vaccines.
4) Those who dare to mention the above points are maligned, which should be a red flag.
But the real downer was that these people did not even want to look into these concerns. Just “misinformation”, you know. And if intelligent people don’t want to know, how much hope is there for the rest of society?
What is as much, or possibly even more to the point is that all the covid-related government actions were flat-out, in-your-face evil.
I don’t know if the true believers are intelligent or not, but I would say there is something seriously wrong with anyone who does not opppse evil when it comes right up and spits in their eye.
I agree. I don’t see them waking up. Even if by some miracle they start understanding the jab is killing them, they’ll still jump to the next religion/belief that comes along.

Decent people tend to equate truth coming out with suitable action then being taken to right the wrong. Simple action and reaction. However, I don’t think the DS gives a damn what comes out or what we think. They will just move on to the next fraud and Boobus Americanus (and Boobus Europeanus over here) will go along with it all.

In fact, it’s good to let stories like the Biden Laptop run now and then. Their way of rubbing your nose in the fact that they’re untouchable and they can do anything they want, so don’t make too much trouble for them. Get my drift? Wow. Apparently you’ve never read Vincent Bugliosi’s book on the JFK assassination, He cared to look. As for 9/11 – no money trail or primary evidence of detonation charges planted in the buildings, which would have required the cooperation of hundreds and knowledge of thousands, at least.
There is so much going on that it can be difficult to unpack. What shouldn’t be difficult is the fact that Russia now has a gold-backed currency and the petro-dollar is headed for the trash heap of history.
Americans can expect their standard of living to fall by 2/3’rds once we can no longer export our debt to the rest of the world.
Prepare accordingly.
The coming tsunami will gob-smack everyone into the new reality. How we deal with that will define our character and whether we pick up the pieces and go forward as a single nation again. My guess is not. I honestly don’t see it.
I don’t see it either. With the recent ‘monetary readjustments’ made by Russia, the US briefly noticed the earth shifting underneath them and then when back to debating the Will Smith thing. Any recovery at all will come after it burns down.
Once we can no longer export our debt, all entitlement programs and woke programs and green energy programs will cease to be financed. 1/2 of all households receive some kind of transfer payment and when that vanishes, you’ll see millions of dumbfounded dipshits pulling their own hair out while screaming at the sky.
It will be something to behold.

When you understand Jim Kunstler’s political history and consider his beliefs and views as expressed here on this blog, logic should indicate that he would be a staunch supporter of the democratic/liberal political ideology which he apparently was for many decades. However, when that party turned rotten, evil more accurately, our host was able to see through the metamorphosis and realize that the party of the people, or the working man had actually degraded into the party of chaos and pretty much reverted back to being the party of slavery as it was in the 1850’s and 60’s, although this time it is slavery for ALL of us. Of course, the republicans are a garbage bag of waste as well with only a few, fringe individuals that have retained their decency so we cannot count on them for shit, or maybe only that when you think about it.
In our host’s case the realization is one of the things that I believe we all admire and applaud him for. The two EVs that are being flaunted right now are the Lucid Air Sedan and the Rivian truck, which are priced at $179,000 and $83,500 respectively. For some reason both require the purchase of a subscription to operate them, which cost another $15,500 over 5 years. The obvious question is, how many people can afford these cars? I submit, not too many. I suspect these companies are frauds, and there was never any intent to mass produce Rivians or Lucid Airs. Even Tesla is a fraud, in that 2/3 of the cars they produce are being sold in foreign countries where they are highly subsidized.
The real point of EVs is to force people out of their cars into public transportation and staying home via the spiraling cost of vehicles, fuel, fees, and taxes.

I would be happy to use public transportation—even to be “incentived” to do so (meaning that it makes for sense to do so (:-))—but not under false pretenses.

The last time I rode the bus to pick up the office car, there was a fight on the bus. Some woman was screaming at this man to stop looking at her. He was mortified and wasn’t looking at her before the outburst as far as I could tell. I decided mentally ill folks must be precluded from driving due to their meds.

Also, I used to like the idea of functioning public transportation, and sort of still do, but the system here in Germany is a joke.
If one works out what it costs to get a yearly pass for commuting or general use, in many cases, a car is only a bit more. And I am not talking about a Daiwoo. My own vehicle is actually cheaper than the commuter pass for the Regiobahn, given the amount I currently drive.
There are places, as I was looking around recently, where that $179,000 is a house mortgage. Not many (it’s on the low side), but in the range.

Different things work in different places. We have an award-winning bus service in Edinburgh (with a few minor alternative bus companies tagged on for choice). I have a theory that people get the bus service they deserve. So, for example:
1. Sitting in a car complaining about the inadequacy of bus services (as a justification for your car use) does not constitute demand and will not affect supply. Standing at a bus stop constitutes demand. (I’m not criticising either of you here, obviously, but rather people in British towns who do sit in cars in traffic queues moaning that there aren’t enough buses – not in Edinburgh, as we have an excellent bus service here precisely because people use it – although there are still too many cars at peak times).
2. If ‘average’ and/or kinda well-heeled people eschew buses, then the people who are left to use the buses will be the people the first groups don’t want to share buses with. If everybody uses the buses, then the buses will be full of the kind of people nobody minds meeting on a bus. In Edinburgh everyone, even those with cars, use the buses – parking in the city centre is a nightmare. Therefore, whoever you are, you are going to find that the people on the buses are just like you.
Years ago when I lived further out of town (but within the city boundary) I got a ‘limited stop’ bus to work run by the same bus company. It was full of blokes in suits with briefcases and was the cheapest way of getting to work, with no requirement to find and pay for a parking space all day.
I have, of course, spent the very occasional bus journey staring resolutely out the window to avoid catching the eye of some drunk, loquacious fella I was fervently hoping would not sit down beside me. Equally, I have shared bus space with the author and former Professor of Ethics, Sandy McCall-Smith (and his missus, who was a GP at my medical practice) and, on another occasion, with Richard Holloway, author and former Bishop of Edinburgh. To my mind that’s what a bus service should be like.
Not having a go at anyone, just putting in my tuppence-worth. 🙂 None of this is relevant for those who live at the arse end of nowhere, obviously, where I’d quite like to live myself these days.
GA, my point is that here in Germany, Deutsche Bahn is a corrupt organization that can’t fulfill its mission effectively.
The service is poor, many of the train cars are dilapidated (in the summers here, many suffer from heat stroke on the Regiobahn trains, where the windows don’t open more than about 5 cm, and there is no climate control), and the prices have increased so much, that there is virtually no reason to use the train to commute.
With a private car, there is also the convenience/personal control factor.
I have never used trains in Scotland, but I have used them in England and had no problems. That said, I don’t know the system well enough to complain.

Using covid to advance an agenda- I was in a department store yesterday. I noticed that in this particular store, as in many other businesses I’ve been in, they have gone ahead and installed much more permanent-looking plexiglass barriers only this year.
They also had another increasingly common feature- I was paying in cash, but I was still directed to use the stylus to tap the electronic screen. They have some inane question you just have to answer yes or no to, or agree with.
The cashier apologized, because she was locked out of the register unless I used the screen.
She told me that people did not like touching the screen, so they were trying to get people to use their app to avoid touching anything.
More and more of the chains are doing this, you are paying cash but you still have to interact with the electronic screen anyway.
I even think that’s why CVS has been handing out those ridiculously long receipts. The wish to annoy you so much you will quit asking for a receipt and do it all electronically.

For electricity is a different story. I have several hundred watts worth stowed away . I can put them in service in a day or two. I’ll just plunk ’em out in a sunny spot and voila! Electricity is my friend.
My dad had solar hot water installed during the Carter years. He loved the system. It had a glitch once, I think the electric circulation pump or thermostat failed. After several decades of service he had a new replacement. Conversion of solar radiation to heat is more efficient than converting to electricity and then to heat isn’t it? I had a solar cooker. It worked OK on the east coast if I watched it and kept it directed at the sun, but I had to watch it in the south west to avoid burning my food. I’m surprised people in the south west don’t use solar cookers more often.

Two comments on the Ukraine situation with civilians
Fox reporting 410 civilians found dead around Kiev after the Russian withdrawal.
First, remember when Zelensky “recruited” all Ukrainians to fight against the invaders. He basically turned the “civilians” of Ukraine into soldiers. Imagine the Russians coming into an urban area fighting who knows who. The US invasions have run into the same thing over and over. If civilians want to be civilians they need to get the heck out of the way. Zelensky’s declaration itself has created lots of “civilian” casualties.
Second, all the boomers should remember CBS’s coverage of the VietNam war. Daily body counts! Many of those days had death tolls larger than 400 folks. So here is the media again exaggerating the effect of this war. Do you think that the militarization of the people of Ukraine might be exaggerated by our illustrious MSM?
How about letting the refugees get the heck out of the way until the BOYS quit messing around, then go home and repair the damage the idiots caused.

What I isolated above, or some semblance of it, is what needs to be FOCUSED upon. For some reason Peter showed up in the kitchen for breakfast today. Normally my wife carries his breakfast up to the third floor on a tray and watches until he swallows his pills. If we/she doesn’t watch he is very likely to “forget” to take them, or one or two pills will fall on the floor. Sooo, Peter takes his seat at the table and I say “By the way Peter, when you go back upstairs be advised that I put two of your garments from the laundry on the steps.” Peter is looking at me with a totally bewildered look on his face… as if I had been speaking to him in Chinese. I don’t know if his bewilderment is because he can’t hear or because I used the word garments instead of clothes. So I repeat it all over again louder and more slowly, changing the inflection of my voice here and there.
Still bewilderment but he did say “OK” so I said nothing more. Hours later I noticed the clothing items were still on the steps.
On Friday the 3 of us went out to eat in a new restaurant recently taken over from a failed previous restaurant. There were no physical menus. You got the menu on your phone by taking a picture of one of those square complex symbols (I forget what they’re called). So the menu is now up on the screen of my wife’s phone and I hand it to Peter. He begins to look at the screen holding the phone at varying arm lengths. He gives up… says he can’t read it. I look at him and notice he is wearing some strange pair of glasses. He has a collection of old glasses and puts on any old pair that happens to come to hand. Bo (his sister) reads him the menu. I could go on but this is probably getting tedious.
The good news is folks may now live to see 60 , 70 , or 100 years !

A week ago two cars collided at the corner I live on. One spun out of control and rammed into a railroad-tie retaining wall on my property causing some damage. I was unaware of this until a police officer came to my front door and took me to the wall to show me the damage. He advised me to wait one week until the Police Crash Report was fully processed. Then I should go to the police dept and get a copy and call the insurance company of the driver at fault. He gave me the Case # that I should refer to.
Today marked one week. When I told my wife about the clown show of my visit to the police dept she was “in stitches” and said she wished she had a video of me telling the tale.
I entered the PD thru a double set of doors and straight ahead of me was a thick plate glass window behind which I knew there was an officer at a computer (I had been to this place on a prior occasion) acting in the role of a receptionist but no light was on in his/her work space… why, I have no idea.
I barely detected the movement of someone behind the glass and barely heard his or her question as to the purpose of my visit because 1) I am borderline stone deaf and 2) there is only a slim sliver of an opening at the bottom of the plate glass thru which sound could pass. I slowly came to realize this receptionist was directing me to another office to my left rear in which a woman worked at a desk. This office also had a thick plate glass with a slim opening good only for passing envelops or documents through. At least her office was normally lit.
I lowered my mouth down nearer the slim opening and began to explain my purpose there. She mainly gestured that she couldn’t help me almost as one might do if it was their first day on the job. She asked me some questions as I pointed to my ears and said “I’m sorry, I don’t hear well.” After some effort I was able to convey the case number in question. She entered the number in her computer and printed out a 4 page doc titled New Jersey Police Crash Investigation Report and slid it through the opening to me. While this was happening other people were entering the building for unknown other purposes. There began to be quite a commotion.
One person was a grizzled white guy, mid 50s, wearing a baseball cap backwards (clearly cultural appropriation). He was obviously agitated as he waited for someone to appear from the inner sanctum that he could pour out his guts to. A second person was a polite Jew (with beard and permanently affixed Yarmulke). He stood in a corner with some papers in hand waiting for someone to help him with his business.
I left, got in my truck and began to pour over the details of the crash report looking for Insurance Co. names and phone numbers. Couldn’t find them, nor were there phone numbers for either of the two drivers of the vehicles in the crash. I got out of the truck and crossed the
street to re-enter the police dept. I went again to the woman in the lighted office behind the thick plate glass. I guessed it was a half inch thick and probably bulletproof. She tried to tell me something but I pointed at my ears and said “sorry, I can’t hear.”
With barely disguised exasperation she pulled a 14″ yellow legal pad from a desk drawer, tore off half a page (I was impressed with this frugality) and began to write everything she wanted to say if only I had been able to hear. She wrote 4 sentences in tidy printing as follows:

I went and sat to wait in the only chair in the lobby area. People came and went. The guy with the backward ballcap went into a conference room with an officer but didn’t close the door. He began a heated rant. Several times he demanded that a certain person be arrested immediately “that afternoon.” His head would frequently snap around and stare at me out the open door as his rant continued. It was as if I was the person he wanted arrested.
I waited bemused and amused for the arrival of “a office” who would help me. Eventually a female officer came out. She went to the Jewish guy in the corner and asked if he was the gentlemen who couldn’t hear. He had no idea what she was talking about. She looked around, I caught her eye and said I think you may be looking for me. But she wasn’t particularly helpful and called on a second female officer who totally knew what she was doing. As she made notes on a page of the crash report I stared at the vast array of equipment attached to their uniforms and especially their belts: a hand gun, two extra 16 cartridge clips, handcuffs, flashlight, radio, and god knows what else. I asked them about “all that stuff” and they groaned and said “you get used to it.”
I thought about pointing out to the woman in the lighted office that “a office” should have been “an officer,” that I would have used either a comma or a period after the word information in the second sentence and that her last sentence had the word “your” written twice in a row in error.
Then I thought better of that idea.
In the meantime a woman came out from the back and retrieved some paperwork from the yarmulke-wearing Jew in the corner. Good things happen to people who wait patiently.

As I recall the later years of my working career, it was about 20-25 years ago that email became a serious problem in the corporate world. Executives in particular, but really almost everybody including facilities maintenance folks, found themselves inundated with email and it was becoming impossible to read all of it , much less reply to it.
I car pooled with several guys one of whom (Rick B.) was a high level engineer, in fact he was honored as engineer of the year in a large high tech defense contractor company. This guy would work on his laptop both coming and going unless it was his turn to drive.
He was out of the carpool for a day or two for an “offsite.” This is a meeting held somewhere other than on company premises because the powers that be know that that is the only way their attention can be “undivided.” Upon his return Rick told us about a key subject of the offsite… how to deal with all the email. The gist was to scan the names of the senders and mark for reading and response only those emails from higher ranked employees. The rest were to be ignored. The ignored senders, it was assumed, would show up at your office door if/when they became desperate enough.
Sounds about right. I know quite few people up here who do that, so I never email them. They’re usually low level managers who just push shit off on someone else anyway.
I’ve found that I can get through all of mine with just a quick scan. Most are from staff flunkies just posting program shit because that’s their job, “Safety’ and now ‘Wellness’ being far the worst of the bunch. Filter those out and everything clears up considerably.

The clinic said euthanasia and preparatory examinations require ‘human closeness’ meaning that under German law everyone involved must comply with the 2G rule.
‘Euthanasia and the preparatory examination of the voluntary responsibility of our members willing to die require human closeness,’ the Association said in a statement on November 19.
‘Human closeness, however, is a prerequisite and breeding ground for coronavirus transmission. As of today, the 2G rule applies in our association, supplemented by situation-related measures, such as quick tests before encounters in closed rooms.’
It explained the decision was based on the ‘difficult task of balancing the protection of our members, employees and doctors with the practical organization of our everyday life in the association.’

The 2G rule has sparked controversy in Germany, where premises are also given the option of following the 3G rule – which means those who can present a negative coronavirus test can also be served.

I’m not an atheist, and there is nothing in a theistic point-of-view that prohibits a perspective that human overpopulation is 1) possible, 2) occurring now, 3) demanding a human response, and 4) an aspect of the “divine challenge” to humanity, to be stewards of the Earth and learn righteous behavior in relation to creation and environment. The idea of the presence of the image of God in humans does not and never has (justifiably) implied that humans cannot, through culpability, mar that image and deserve death.
Of course, in relation to the WEF blandly dismissing lives which are in all likelihood more valuable to God than their own, an applicable verse might be, “remove the log from your own eye first; then, you might see to remove the mote from your brother’s eye.”

In my defense: How would I know? You never talk from a spiritual pov. It’s always something like: I’ll tip my hat to the Elite if they manage to kill of most of humanity. BRH, nothing against Tiger. It just bugs me that he accrued no charges from the driving incident. I have been to hundreds of car accidents. I have seen people wreck there cars and be charged by the police for all sorts of offenses even though no other party was injured. For example. I had a guy hit a deep puddle and careen off the street with his beater F150 and total his truck on a tree. Busted face, did not want an ambulance. Poor son ‘o bitch needed that truck. Cop wrote him up for speeding, lanes violation, etc. I tried to talk to the cop but he was a young whippersnapper and had no use for my common sense. Pissed me the fuck off. I’ve been out of the business for 10 years now. Even back then there were the prick cops and the good cops.

I also Googled questions like “words ending in aa” and “words ending in bb,” etc. etc. I didn’t check all 26 letters of the alphabet but it seems you can find a word, name, or acronym ending in a double letter for just about every letter.

I have always enjoyed the company of gay men. They are usually very witty and amusing company. In my youth, I appreciated the fact that they were good dancers. Since they are constitutionally nonconformists, you can be open with them about your own non-conformity, so you get a level of unconditional acceptance from them that you will rarely get from other women and never from straight men. Barack Obama was at the White House yesterday, making it clear, as did others at the reception held in Obama’s honor, that Biden’s presidency is over. Watching Obama suck the oxygen out of the room made me wonder if Obama is planning a comeback, something he can easily do.
The ostensible reason for Obama’s return to the White House was to celebrate Obamacare’s twelfth anniversary (if you can celebrate our modern, cowardly, corporate-run “medical care,” along with overpriced insurance that does little for people with serious health issues). The reception in Obama’s honor, though, hinted that the event’s real purpose was to signal to Democrat apparatchiks that Biden is now shark chum.
The chumming process began when Obama referred to Biden as the “vice president,” adding, after a long pause, “That was a joke.”
Well, I guess it was a joke, in the same way a mean husband is joking when he says to his wife, “That dress makes you look like a cute circus elephant” and then tries to avoid her wrath by insisting, “That was a joke. I meant you look cute.” No, it wasn’t a joke. She was auditioning hard for the job, trying to show Obama that she’ll do better than Biden at preserving and expanding the hard-left Obama legacy. However, Obama, who is an extremely smart politician, despite his ignorance and broken, Marxist moral compass, knows that Kamala is as bad as, or even worse than, Biden.
And that fact left me with an admittedly wild theory about how Obama may intend to fix things: Obama’s aiming to get back into the Oval Office.
My premise is that Obama fully understands that, if Biden is ousted immediately under the 25th Amendment, there are only idiots and incompetents to take his place. If it’s not Kamala Harris, then it’s Nancy Pelosi and, if not her, then Patrick Leahy, Antony Blinken, Janet Yellen, Lloyd Austin, Merrick Garland… Obama knows none of these nonentities will secure the transformation he promised America. Instead, there are three steps to return Obama to the presidency:
1. Have the Democrat establishment remove Kamala Harris from office, whether through threats or bribes.
2. Have the Democrats declare that, because world instability (Ukraine, Putin, China) puts us at unprecedented risk, only a politically seasoned person can be vice president, with Obama graciously accepting that role.
3. Oust Biden using the 25th Amendment. And voilà! President Obama (again). He can even have Stacey Abrams as his veep.
The 22nd Amendment does not bar Obama from regaining the presidency this way. It only stops him from being “elected to the office.” The three steps above avoid an election.
Obama will then have two and a half years to lock down America’s “fundamental transformation” into a fully socialized third-world country, and Biden has given him a head start when it comes to destroying institutions. Heck, if Obama does the job right, he can be the new Putin or Erdo?an: America’s president for life.
And yes, I agree this sounds crazy, but events since 2020 show that we really are nothing more than a fancy banana republic.

I can understand people feeling sorry for him I guess. But I’m not feeling it too much. I do not know if you watch Outlander, but in a recent episode, Claire, the main character and a time traveler surgeon, operates on Tom, who very obviously has Dupuytren’s Contracture. It is 1773 and she does it to him without anesthesia. Ouch!
Don’t watch it, but first reaction to ‘the Contracture’ was that this has got to be total bullshit.
Someone mentioned on a previous comment on one of a previous posts of Jim’s that one should avoid curling one’s wrists at night during sleep to avoid needlessly aggravating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which I can personally attest is both a tendency and an aggravating factor as advertised, but the whole Contracture thing struck me as absurd from the first I heard of it.
Seems funny that we’re only just now hearing of it, as we are “mysteriously” with so many other previously unheard of “ailments” these days. But that’s just me, and admittedly I might well just be a paranoid psychotic old curmudgeon. Go figure!
