The Dead Rise on John Street

You might have noticed that the massive investment in Halloween yard shrines by families growing broke in America reflects the ghoulish convergence of malevolent events undermining and overtaking what used to be normal life in this land. Nothing is normal anymore. The groaning mummies, howling werewolves, and shrieking skeletons are trying to tell us something.

The message might be: detach from reality long enough and death comes creeping ’round your door. You see where consensual madness has gotten us? Believe enough things that are not true and nemesis comes roaring in, all fangs and claws, to gleefully shred you. So. Maybe it’s time to stop believing things that are not true.

Start with the first principle of US life in our time: that anything goes and nothing matters. This proposition has ruled for as long as most of us can remember. Consequence was exiled on Main Street so you can get away with anything now — until you discover that, somehow, everything is broken. Your livelihood is broken. Your community is broken. Your household is broken. Your car is broken. Your children are broken. Your health is broken. Your faith is broken. Your country is broken.

Here’s a first principle worth considering: court death and it will oblige you. Granted, there is a certain libido for nonexistence in the human psyche because life is so hard sometimes that you yearn to be relieved of it. But not everyone in America seeks to walk that way. Probably fewer than half of us. So why do we allow that other half to drag us to the bone orchard? Do you see what it means to get your mind right when times get hard and the path is uncertain?

Everybody knows that a ghoul was installed in the now-haunted White House. And everybody knows that the method of his installation was a fraud, a gigantic falsehood. The catch is that the fewer than half of us liked it that way, they celebrated it, did a victory dance, and then rubbed it in with prosecutions against the rest of us who saw exactly what happened and didn’t like it. They acted like it didn’t matter what you saw.

They tried to control the transmission of ideas and sentiment about these matters by placing half the CIA and the FBI on Facebook, Twitter, and Google. Nice try, but only cads and fools think that you can stuff reality in a black box, lock it up, and throw away the key. Reality has Houdini-like powers to escape because reality is true magic. Reality is the ultimate super-power. Reality is not some asshole in a spandex suit with a cape and a mask. Reality is the white light that reveals the world.

Reality is telling us that the war project in Ukraine started by the neocon pseudopod of our Deep State blob is not working out. The fiasco could not be more rank. Instead of weakening Russia, it crippled the USA. V. Putin is not the enemy of Western Civ, he’s one of its last remaining defenders. Was it not in everyone’s interest that for seventy-five years Ukraine existed as an inert borderland, making trouble for nobody, itself especially? Could we not respect that reality and leave it alone?

Reality is telling us that Israel refuses to be massacred out of existence. Israel will defend itself with us or without us. It’s possible they’ll manage it intelligently. You might ask: will we defend ourselves against the same antagonist that wants to wipe all of Western Civ off the face of the earth, us included? Notice that your own will to survive is being subverted by useful idiots while warrior cadres of mysterious origin pour across the Mexican border. Everyone knows it’s a clear and present danger and who will move to stop the invasion? Do we have to wait for a catastrophe?

Who is “Joe Biden” working for? Wouldn’t you like to know? Not much is left of him in mind or body, though he made a fortune in a short span of years for doing effectively nothing but retailing his favor before landing so uncannily in the seat of power. The truth about it is all over the place now and might provoke constitutional procedures that will induce the de-platforming he likely deserves. All that is going to unspool now whether The New York Times pays attention to it or not, and no matter what the fewer than half of us want to pretend about the evil legerdemain that put him where he is.

The extended festival of ghouls and dancing skeletons comes to an end in a week with the Day of the Dead, also known as All Saints Day. That is your cue to stop celebrating wickedness for its own sake. Remember, we are the living. While we are here, we have an obligation to those who come after us. The dead can take care of themselves. It is possible to have faith in ourselves. Even as the days grow shorter, the people of this land can gather in the remaining light instead of worshipping the darkness. A new season will be upon us soon. Hark, the herald angels sing!

I have often wondered if the fascination with zombies has roots in our social disarray.

    Thanks JHK

The opposite of Satan, the purveyor of death, is something we gave up a long time ago and will outlive all of us, especially the USA.

      • pyrrhus October 23, 2023 at 5:16 pm #

And Satan treats his disciples even worse than those of us who are his enemies…he respects us..We must all heed the words of Solzhenitsyn…if evil shall (temporarily) triumph, it shall not be through our words or deeds…

        • Cankerpuss October 23, 2023 at 5:21 pm #

Does Satan treat his disciples worse? From what I see these days the wicked, the perverted, the debauched, the reprobates, they are all filthy rich and finding positions of power and glory. I disagree. Satan appears to reward his minions handsomely. God, however, rewards his followers with pain, sickness, suffering and even death all for the “promise” of greater rewards to come.

Makes sense doesn’t it? Maybe it’s true but it sure doesn’t help lighten the load with today’s burdens.

          Just saying…

    • RD3 October 23, 2023 at 10:11 am #

      E. Michael Jones has argued that the rise of the horror genre is a reaction to all of the depravity that arose after The Enlightenment and French Revolution.

      • pyrrhus October 23, 2023 at 5:17 pm #

Makes sense…But legends of vampires and werewolves long preceded modern history…

      • Cankerpuss October 23, 2023 at 5:18 pm #

We are a culture that worships death. Everything is about death and violence now. Abortion is celebrated and fought to uphold, the literal murder of a baby, is a protected right in many of our states today. is this so different from the ancient Israelites who sacrificed their children upon the altars of Baal?

Most movies produced today involve violence, murder, rape or demonic images. Rarely do movies today involve love, justice, peace, light and love for God with moral people.

        Video games, mostly, are violent.

All of this seems to coincide with the gradual debasement of God in our society. As religion continues to succumb to the powers of godlessness that void is filled with a new religion that everyone tries to deny is actually a religion. Godlessness is a religion. It is replaced with violence, death, debasement and debauchery.

Only a return to the light will save us.

Unreasoning, sowing chaos, driven to eat the remnants of productive society, whose laws and institutions have failed … seems like a perfect metaphor for leftism to me.

      • hortonz October 24, 2023 at 1:50 pm #

I’ve been avoiding the news on mainstream media for a week and I’m glad I did. Watching CNN, CBC, CBS, ABC, and NBC it’s hard not to feel helpless, confused, hopeless and think that nothing we do matters. I think it’s called learned helplessness and I think the media has programmed it into populace just like mass formation psychosis because it allows the deep state to demoralize and divide the population and divert attention from it’s own nefarious activities like giving billions of dollars in aid to terrorist organizations like Hamas through middlemen like Iran while claiming they are standing with Israel or allowing NATO to encircle Russia, thereby leading to a long and bloody proxy war and official internet censorship that might expose the truth. I’m done rambling for now and want to thank JHK for another excellent and incisive post. Now if only we could get rid of Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau and let the adults take charge in Washington and Ottawa.

    • Paul October 23, 2023 at 12:17 pm #

      RaymondR,
Of course it does! The prevalence of zombies and death is a largely unconscious projection of our collective malaise. Remember the Skulls? A few years’ back they were there on damn near everything, like an ‘in-your-face’ message that almost everyone buying, wearing, tattooing, gifting and trading in them failed to pickup: “REMEMBER, YOU MUST DIE”!
There was one skull in particular that was particularly effective in conveying this message. It was basically a hollow-eyed, narrow-chined Skull superimposed over a mushroom cloud. it was scary as fuck! I’m sure people bought them by the ton and wore them doing the most mundane things: cutting their grass, washing their cars, eating, etc., etc., etc. . . .

      • crudgemudgeon October 23, 2023 at 12:26 pm #

Paul, yes. Is this over now? Did it “jump the shark” with the dentists on thirty thousand dollar Harleys? Thank God!
“Oh, see my scary skull! Better not mess with me!”
        So ridiculous.

    • fugeguy October 24, 2023 at 10:58 am #

Easy metaphor for those that are on autopilot just doing as there told. Getting and taking the jab. Only painting there mailbox the right color, ect.

      21st century term is NPC’s…

Be it zombies or npc’s we got a lot and it is their world now.

    • Ron Anselmo October 23, 2023 at 9:50 am #

steppingup – I still have the other side of that trade – I say “No Alien Invasion” for this April, but April only, could be May, June or July.

    • beantownbill. October 23, 2023 at 1:01 pm #

That would be very scarily interesting. The Chinese saying rides again.

    • TallTim October 23, 2023 at 3:27 pm #

There is already an invasion going on, but not aliens, Cyborgs. Somewhere deep down underground around Long Beach, CA they are already engaged. They say it is just some earthquakes. Stay tuned.

Beryl – I take it as, we’re at the mercy of the decisions of the all the pussies that think they’re tough guys – Biden, Milley, Sullivan, Blinken, et al.

      • RD3 October 23, 2023 at 9:56 am #

Would anyone be surprised if that fake general Milley was secretly into drag? He just has that look about him.

        • Ron Anselmo October 23, 2023 at 10:08 am #

Yes, he could dress up and go on a date with Rachel Levine – a lesbian date – two men dressing up like women on a lesbian date. Is that even possible?

          • RD3 October 23, 2023 at 10:11 am #

            Anything is possible.

          • RD3 October 23, 2023 at 10:27 am #

Levine could pick Milley up in his Subaru.

          • hmuller October 23, 2023 at 10:27 am #

Possible? One of the cable networks could turn it into a TV reality show.

“They came from different worlds. One was a warrior; one was a healer. Can they find happiness together promoting vaccines, drag queens, and twisted RNA genes?”

          • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2023 at 10:34 am #

            Probably did that already.

          • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2023 at 10:48 am #

“Did that already” referring to the date between the two men. I’m pretty sure there’s a stripe for that somewhere on that flag.

          • Lyndy33 October 23, 2023 at 11:16 am #

Is it possible? I met an old friend who I hadn’t seen in years since we were in collage and he introduced me to his husband. YUK. PHOOEY. I left for an urgent meeting.

Milley and Levine are old guys. They’re not hip to the Pious.

The Walking Dead has become a reality TV show.

          • Ron Anselmo October 23, 2023 at 4:57 pm #

Actually, I don’t think either a Subaru or a Prius has ever been in a drag race. Oh, sorry, we’re talking about a drag date, my bad.

(Dr.) Levine & (General) Milley were classmates at the Belmont Hill School in Belmont MA, a suburb of Boston. Levine DOB is 10/28/57 & Milley DOB is 6/20/58. Small world isn’t it?

          • RD3 October 24, 2023 at 9:16 am #

The plot thickens. Massachusetts makes sense for both of them.

And Belmont was also the home of Welch, the founder of John Birch. Many think that he fell into darkness – at least at the end. Always covering for the Tribe.

And they are at the top of the pyramid cuz their personalities are Passive Aggression and the willingness to use it.

That personality works in this society because reasons. I don’t really rightly know why it works to get ahead, but it does.

Obv they can’t be socked in the jaw, much less tried (lawfully) and hanged, but in a better world, they would be.

    • King of Comedy October 23, 2023 at 10:30 am #

Reality should tell you that every country on earth was massacred into existence.

Nothing is more comical and pathetic than the effete bedwetters whining when this reality hurts their fee-fees or the wrong group is doing the massacre-ing.

      • Mister Roboto October 23, 2023 at 12:10 pm #

Perhaps. But JHK is talking about reality in this blog-post, and he is calling the massacre of the Palestinians in Gaza right now by the Israelis “Israel defending itself”, and that is not the reality of the situation. Not only that, much of the Western Civilization he so reveres in that paragraph has been rising up in mass protest of the massacre despite such demonstrations being banned in a few countries by captured globalist governments. I don’t expect to disabuse JHK or much of the American right of their blind-spot for Israel, but I’m going to call a spade a spade when somebody tries to call it a diamond or a heart.

        • King of Comedy October 23, 2023 at 12:32 pm #

It strikes me as odd that in a blog specifically dedicated to the ramifications of the collapse of the “world order” and the postwar anomaly that anybody can manifest such delicate sensibilities. The world is, to paraphrase Hunter Thompson, “on a survival trip” and the survival of Us almost always means (and has almost always meant) the elimination of Them. The niceties of international law and giving a shit about world opinion were all fantasies brought about by a once in a planet’s lifetime abundance that is going away. The world is simply reverting to the metric of each country and group doing what it must to survive. You may find that objectionable but the reality of history, both past and future, doesn’t really care about your objection. You like everybody else will soon have to pick a side and woe unto those who don’t understand that blood is thicker than water.

Btw, the demonstrations you speak of are largely populated by “enemies inside the gates” of Western Civilization who would just as soon “decolonize” Western Civilization as Israel. A preview, if you will, of coming attractions…

          • Mister Roboto October 23, 2023 at 12:42 pm #

Well, I can’t help but find it sad and alarming that some people seem to think that we should deal with the oncoming crisis of population and resources by reverting to our most base instincts, as those instincts are going to have access to nuclear weapons this time around. But if the only way we know how to respond to such crises is reversion to those instincts, perhaps our extinction as a species was always a tragic inevitability.

          • Alfred October 26, 2023 at 6:44 pm #

Wow, you guys had a great exchange, thanks!

        • beantownbill. October 23, 2023 at 1:14 pm #

          @Robot:

To call a spade a spade, what about the 1,000 or so killed by Hamas in a sneak attack? Or is the murder of American citizens ok? Or is blowing up the Palestinians’ own hospital by Hamas ok, too?

          You know nothing, really.

          • malthuss October 23, 2023 at 1:21 pm #

          • Mister Roboto October 23, 2023 at 1:32 pm #

And BTW, you’re also an idiot if you believe that Hamas were the ones who blew up that hospital.

          • Alfred October 23, 2023 at 6:03 pm #

            Bill,

I don’t have a score card, can you please tally up the dead and disposed on both teams and give us a current score?

Seems to me the Israeli’s are waaaaaay ahead, so far.

You can’t break it down tit-for-tat, but you have a point…

Both sides in this have to look at themselves in the mirror and ask, “what did you expect was gonna happen?”

            fer sure…

This is what you get from a people harshly constrained, muted, censored and ignored.

And this is what you get when you drop in on a party and shoot the place up. This is what you get.

          • Socrates-Detroit October 23, 2023 at 6:07 pm #

This war didn’t start Oct 07.

What was different is that Israelis got to experience the crimes Palestinians experience every day.

We can debate whether Israel bombed the hospital deliberately or by accident, or whether Hamas did it.

I believe Israel did it. But let’s say it was a stray Hamas rocket (and if Hamas had rockets that powerful, why would they NOT use them on Israel).

What about the other 10,000-plus bombs that Israel is dropping?

I guess it’s OK. If you can, if people don’t like you, just kill them. They are “Terrorist Accomplices”

The truth is harsh mistress. To be clear, in the 1930s the Germans began harassing Jews. Once WW2 was in full swing, the Germans began exterminating them.

This ghastly crime against humanity was a huge boost to the creation of the state of Israel.

The deplorable tactics that technology allowed people to see this crimes (most of which I think were actual, some may have been doctored, aka the flying Hamas troops) wasn’t present in 1947-48, when Jewish gangs like the Irgun and Stern used these same tactics against Palestinians.

So, basically the Palestinians are paying for the sins of the Gerrmans.

Is the murder of American citizens OK? I guess it is, when it’s done by the IDF, who attacked the USS Liberty in 1967, to take it out, so they could carry out their sneak attack on the Arabs. 32 KIA, 150-plus wounded.

And the Israelis treatment of the NATIVE Palestinians is similar to the early days of the Holocaust.

And why not? The Israeli lobby controls US policy.

But let’s say Americans wake up and say enough.

Then, Israel will bare her teeth. They have nuclear missiles and nuclear subs that can attack anyone, anywhere. Nuclear blackmail.

That’s why Israel has never negotiated in good faith.

And if one is a Palestinian with no hope and no prospects, why not strike back?

Ever hear of the Warsaw Uprising, 1943? These poor Jews had enough. They were going to die anyway, so they struck. It took the Germans more than a few days–more like weeks, to “secure the area”. These Hamas folks are way beyond that. “The world is going to ignore us? OK!”

Read The Samson Option by Seymour Hersh.

        • cbeard October 23, 2023 at 1:22 pm #

The older I get. The more ornery I become. Were the Palestinians defending themselves when they attacked Israel? If some other nation attacked America and killed hundreds, I would say retaliate and kill thousands. If they killed thousands of my people. Then retaliate and kill a hundred thousand. What do you expect. Turning the cheek is not an option. We’ll be going back to the 18th century if we’re lucky, or to the stone age if not.

          • Mister Roboto October 23, 2023 at 1:26 pm #

You seem to be saying that you believe in radically disproportionate responses. I do not.

If history has taught us anything it’s that human beings will do anything to advance an agenda, or protect something they feel is in jeopardy. We remember the Slaughter of the Innocents, where Herod ordered the murder of all Hebrew baby boys up to the age of three, I believe.

Reminds me of the old movie, I think it was Marriage American Style, where the cheating husband, actor Robert Morse, is caught in bed with another woman when his wife comes home. Hilariously, he convinces her that what she saw didn’t happen. Although morally repugnant, it was incredibly funny.

      Alfred,
      Yes.

      Great essay today.
Except JHK once again has it backwards with the Israel piece. And again, the cognitive dissonance re Joe Biden, who is now incriminating the USA in genocide even more deeply than heretofore.

      And resource theft.

Religion and victimology (Never again!! shriek the perps) are so convenient when you are actually slobbering over the oil and gas that are under your prisoners’ property.

Hey, that’s OUR natural gas and oil under the West Bank and off the shore of Gaza!!!

See “Palestine’s Forgotten Oil and Gas Resources” (except, “forgotten” should be in scare quos)

“. . . A recent study by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) points out that new discoveries of natural gas in the Levant Basin are in the range of 122 trillion cubic feet, while recoverable oil is estimated at 1.7 billion barrels. These reserves offer an opportunity to distribute and share about $524bn among the different parties in the region.

“The Israeli military occupation of Palestinian territories since 1967 and the blockade of the Gaza Strip since 2007 have prevented the Palestinian people from exercising any control over their own fossil fuel resources, denying them much-needed fiscal and export revenues and leaving the Palestinian economy on the verge of collapse. . . .

“Since the blockade of Gaza in 2007, the Israeli government has established de facto control over Gaza’s offshore natural gas reserves. The contractor, British Gas, has since been dealing with the Israeli government, effectively bypassing the Palestinian government regarding exploration and development rights.

“Israel has also taken control of the Meged oil and natural gas field, located inside the occupied West Bank. Israel states that the field lies west of the armistice line of 1948, yet most of the reservoir is situated beneath the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967. . . .

“More recently, Israel has begun to develop new oil and gas finds in the Eastern Mediterranean, solely for its own benefit.. . .

“The 1995 Israeli-Palestinian Interim Agreement on the West Bank and Gaza Strip, known as the Oslo II Accord, gave the Palestinian Authority (PA) maritime jurisdiction over its waters up to 20 nautical miles from the coast. The PA signed a 25-year contract for gas exploration with the British Gas Group in 1999, and a large gas field, Gaza Marine, was discovered at 17 to 21 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza the same year. However, despite initial discussions between the Israeli government, the PA and British Gas on the sale of gas from this field and the provision of much-needed revenue to the occupied Palestinian territories, the Palestinians have not realised any benefits. . . .

“Israel has also taken control of the Meged oil and natural gas field, located inside the occupied West Bank. Israel states that the field lies west of the armistice line of 1948, yet most of the reservoir is situated beneath the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967.. . .

“In commandeering and exploiting Palestinian oil and gas resources, Israel is acting in violation of the letter and the spirit of the Hague Regulations, the Fourth Geneva Convention and a body of international humanitarian and human rights law that addresses the exploitation of common resources by an occupying power, without regard for the interest, rights and shares of the occupied population. . . .”

      Let’s just be *honest.*
By *honoring* the *reality* of what is *really* transpiring.

      —Islander

        P.S.
        Here is the UNCTAD study:
“The Economic Costs of the Israeli Occupation for the Palestinian People: The Unrealized Oil and Natural Gas Potential”

“Geologists and natural resources economists have confirmed that the Occupied Palestinian Territory lies above sizeable reservoirs of oil and natural gas wealth, in Area C of the occupied West Bank and the Mediterranean coast off the Gaza Strip. However, occupation continues to prevent Palestinians from developing their energy fields so as to exploit and benefit from such assets. As such, the Palestinian people have been denied the benefits of using this natural resource to finance socioeconomic development and meet their need for energy. The accumulated losses are estimated in the billions of dollars. The longer Israel prevents Palestinians from exploiting their own oil and natural gas reserves, the greater the opportunity costs and the greater the total costs of the occupation borne by Palestinians become.

exactly – the wider story is worth reading:
A Century of War – Engdahl

          .amazon.com/Century-War-Anglo-American-Politics-World/dp/1615774920/ref=sr_1_1?crid=N688K7LNST6S&keywords=a+century+of+war&qid=1698074843&sprefix=a+century+of+w%2Caps%2C85&sr=8-1

“This is a story about power, power over entire nations and continents. The story describes the vehicle to that unparalleled power over nations, oil, and the vital role it has played in peace as well as wars in the past century. Henry Kissinger, the former American Secretary of State put it succinctly during the first oil shock of the early 1970’s. He declared, “Control the oil and you control entire nations.” A thin red line runs through the history of the world since Fashoda, and that is covered in oil and blood. This book is not for the faint of heart, but it is meant to provoke reflection and discussion among those who can see beyond the daily media manipulation of reality that is called news.”

Sometimes I can’t help but wonder how history might have been different had the existing Native population of the Americans not been almost instantly decimated by the diseases such as smallpox and the bubonic plague that Europeans brought to these shores. The Natives were a Neolithic (literally “Later Stone Age”) agricultural civilization who lacked many of our technological and societal advantages, so perhaps they would have been conquered nonetheless, but I really do think it would have been a lot more of a fight that would have resulted in an outcome that would have been different in at least some ways.

        • Paula D October 23, 2023 at 1:02 pm #

The whole “they died instantly from smallpox (recently they added measles, in order to tie in vaccine resistance to MMR) narrative has only been around for a few decades.

Before that, the wiping out of the natives was celebrated, as Jarek still does.
“Here comes the calvary” is still widely used, even though the narrative has changed.

If they instantly died from diseases, why was there a calvary? What were they saving us from? Why were there Indian Wars?
What were all those western movies going on about?

A whole swath of history has been wiped from the books, and Americans are told instead to point fingers at Israel.

“For shame! They took land from the original inhabitants! But the US didn’t, no way. The original inhabitants conveniently had no immune systems, so dropped conveniently dead before we got to their land.”

At the beginning of the 19th century, the US consisted of 13 colonies lined up on the east coast. By the end, the US had spread across the entire continent, and snatched up some Mexican land, to boot.
There were only 250,000 Indians alive in 1900.

Now we are told that 600,000 Palestinians were expelled in 1948, and there has been 70 years of genocide since then, leaving only 5,407,762 left (one is added every 4 minutes in Gaza.)

Get it? There was no genocide in the US. Those 250,000 Indians just managed to escape smallpox.

There is an ongoing genocide in Palestine, get it? That is why there are only a few thousand people left.
          Oh….wait.

It only works if you change the definition of words.

The Cornucopians do the same thing with the world population, so it’s an easy substitute.

my figures show that there was 90 to 95 million native folks when the Europeans got here in north America with lots of debate about Mexico population—by 1900 that was 3 to 5 million–only about 20,000 native peoples were killed by battles—about the same with the settlers —the native folks really didn’t want to fight but everyone wanted their land–the disease wiped them out-of the settlers that cross the USA about 25,000 died of sickness out of 250,000–much debate who died in battles or just got sick and died–life was harsh–dirty water and habits killed a lot of people–the numbers at best are a guess–the coming nuke wars will wipe out 2/3rds right off the bat–after 5 years only about 5 percent of the population of the world will remain….time will start over like it has hundreds of times before

In the Northeast, yes. Not in Virginia. Jamestown faced “the Powhattan Confederacy” – more than twenty thousand Indians scattered over a few hundred square miles. They attacked again and again. In one attack, almost half of the Jamestown men were killed. They have up all ideas about converting them after that. But it took years and reinforcement before they could end the threat they posed.

If the Whites tried to expand, say pushing away a little Indian village, the Indians would send out runners and in a week a thousand braves would be gathered outside the stockade fence. It was a problem. It was them or us. Do you choose them? I choose Us.

there is no facts to support that number–6 to 7 million Jews were displaced and people ran with that number as the amount that were killed–the best guessers say that total killed was 600,000 to 700,000–mostly from sickness and starvation in the camps–the coming nuke war will mean Israhell will be reduced to ash along with most of the middle east and all of euro land–probably only a few hundred million will make it out alive in the world but who knows..nobody

        • tuco22 October 23, 2023 at 2:05 pm #

I think it was a little more than 600,000 or 700,000. It was an attempt by satan to prevent May 18, 1948, from becoming a reality, because that date was the fulfillment of prophecy, where the fig tree bloomed again, and God said that after two thousand years of diaspora among the nations, He was going to bring Israel back to their land again. And that had to be prevented at all costs, because that’s when the end times clock started ticking again. It stopped at the crucifixion for 2000 years. That was the 69th week of Daniel’s 70 weeks of years prophecy. The 70th week has yet to play out.

        Bill,

The Zionists were politically active at the turn of the 20th century. They lobbied long and hard to get the Balfour declaration in 1917.

That’s the starting point, or as far back as I need to go because there was no change for at least a thousand years, there was no Israeli government in exile, no hidden monarch. Balfour was the turning point.

Those 6 million souls murdered in WWII were murdered after Jews were allowed to conduct similar operations in their biblical homeland. It’s not yet expunged from history. You can still read about it.

So, I get it. You’re using faith based facts. I’m not against faith based facts, it’s just that yours aren’t mine.

BUT to LEVEL the playing field, through the lens of these worldly eyes, with attention to these worldly matters, the picture of apartheid is clear, and the consequences of ignoring it are clear too.

When it comes down to it, Uncle Abraham’s “Might makes Right!” position probably the most true to human nature. The world has always been that way. Conquest, then defy the world to come take it.

  6. Jimmy Word October 23, 2023 at 9:50 am #

    Unfortunately, “reality” can be tricky.

Couldn’t have said it better. But then there was this:

Reality is telling us that Israel refuses to be massacred out of existence. Israel will defend itself with us or without us. It’s possible they’ll manage it intelligently. You might ask: will we defend ourselves against the same antagonist that wants to wipe all of Western Civ off the face of the earth, us included? Notice that your own will to survive is being subverted by useful idiots while warrior cadres of mysterious origin pour across the Mexican border. Everyone knows it’s a clear and present danger and who will move to stop the invasion? Do we have to wait for a catastrophe?

The “facts” on the ground, as reported by the “always reliable” CNBC seem to say otherwise:

Health authorities in Gaza said over 5,000 people were killed since the Oct. 7 start of the war between Palestinian militant group Hamas and Israel. More than 15,000 have been injured, the authorities said.

It is over two weeks since the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched its assault on Israel, killing at least 1,400 people and taking over 200 hostage.

And all that realizing that the Israeli numbers are probably inflated and the Palestinian numbers greatly deflated, with a whole lot more soon to come. How many will have to be killed to call it “even steven?”

Not sure about Hamas, but I’m pretty sure it’s not the Palestinians committing the massacre here. They’re shooting fish in a barrel over there in the name of “self defense,” with the US cheering them on like adolescent girls. Shameful fucking shit!

    • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2023 at 10:12 am #

We also had brainwashed college students cheering on the Hamas attacks, which to me were also shooting fish in a barrel. A few of the foreign students did walk it back after learning that some of their countrymen were among the massacred.

I found this, from a man whose main interest in this is apparently military:

“I’ve been arguing since the Hamas operation started that the only certain outcome is Gaza getting smashed. Whether you think some pan-Islamic alliance enters the war and defeats Israel, the price of that will be Gaza getting crushed.

Israeli strategic logic dictates that the country’s existence is in question if they don’t thrash Gaza.

It’s not a perfect analogy, but remember that even though the Hapsburg empire didn’t survive WW1, they succeeded in their goal of punishing Serbia. The Serbs suffered a demographic cataclysm.”

There is a bright side to all this kerfuffle in Ukraine and Israel. According to Mitch McConnell, USA has the opportunity to give weapons to both countries, and then replace them here in the USA with newer more effective weapons. “Rebuild our industrial base here (USA)”.

He thought “Americans would be happy with that.” I heard him say it on the tele. It may have been edited out by now.

So our new industrial base will be weapons manufacturing. Mitch said it would create jobs. Because everybody wants to work in a bomb factory, right?

Helping our friends fight proxy wars for us. You know, the kind of thing we hate if others do it to us?

There are more spooks, ghouls and goblins inside the beltway than can be counted.

    • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2023 at 10:22 am #

Mitch is prattling on and on about all kinds of nonsense that probably isn’t even true anymore. Like he’s happy it’s just dead Ukrainians and not Americans.

We should be seeing inflated Mitch McConnells on people’s front lawns.

Jarek – as usual, your message is conflicted – who are YOU to ‘speak for them’ and yet claim you’re not ‘pitting words in their unmoving mouths’?

And what’s this continuing bullshit trope that the US is ‘not a democracy’ because it’s a republic? It is both, you numbskull.

        James Clyburn:
“The Constitution establishes a federal democratic republic form of government. That is, we have an indivisible union of 50 sovereign States. It is a democracy because people govern themselves. It is representative because people choose elected officials by free and secret ballot.”

    Where Does Truth Lie?

Truth, that shop-worn and thread-bare connection to reality that passes through our flawed “perception”, allows us extant human beings to continue to survive in a hostile universe, just like our ancestors before us. How is that possible? How can a species as manifestly flawed as we bipeds persist on the only hospitable planet within our awareness? This question is far more important than the answer, but whatever answer you come up with, we all owe our existence to a dirty little secret: sex! Sex is the solution that has allowed higher animals to thrive in a sea of parasites (both biologic and temporal) and as the recent Great Covid Deception has revealed, those parasites (evil) are literally everywhere among us. Only the discerning mind (and body) can have a chance of continuance.

Thus the importance of truth: it isn’t what anyone says it is, it is what it is. Reliably, it also works. Werner Erhard, in his Little Book of Aphorisms, opined: “do what works; don’t do what doesn’t work”. John Denver, in his song “Some Days are Diamonds, Some Days are Stones” sang:
“Now you ask how I’ve been here without you,
I like to say, ‘I’ve been fine’, and I do.
But we all know the truth is hard to come by,
And if I spoke the truth, that’s not quite true.”
Further, to quote Paul in the Good Book, Ephesians, 6:20 KJV, “…we struggle not against flesh and blood, but against estates, against principalities, against the darkness of the world, against wickedness in high places….” Truth (received wisdom) or truth (that which survives) is not of the realm of words, those puny approximations capable of deception, but of far greater importance to our survival as a species, as a world, as an ideal. Truth has more to do with mathematics (where lying is not possible) and a believable lie cannot trump a painful truth. So gird up your loins and triple check your calculations: our survival depends on their accuracy!

My mind isn’t the problem here. There is no accountability on any level. That is God’s fault. Whichever useless idol you choose at this point. Jesus took in enough money this weekend alone to end most big issues or at least make a huge dent. Not one single God does anything but chestbump and tell you to read how it’s gonna happen…at some point…so be ready..FOR WHAT?!
No more. If God Himself cannot make war, cannot find justice without a pseudo fight with Satan where He makes us fight while they do nothing.. then they are just tyrants, controlled creators or concocted bullshit. Stop paying God for nothing. Tell Jesus to get his ass to work in the field because the threat of justice is cutting it.

God does not interfere with human behavior, it is part of the covenant He made with mankind when He gave us the ability to reason and tell right from wrong.

Blaming God for anything is fruitless.

We too in Canada have many Halloween displays. It seems like a pattern. One display caught my attention showing Justin Trudeau the most deservedly hated and mocked person in Canada. It was a skeleton hanging from a tree.

I’m Canadian (Oakville) and I detest the man; however, when you become a leader of a country with less than 1/3 the vote the system is not right.

Didn’t Justin campaign on electoral reform in 2015-second round of votes between the two most vote getters like France does?

Never came threw when his advisors (puppet masters) explained to him if he did that he wouldn’t never be voted in again.

    • Vegan Shark October 23, 2023 at 3:25 pm #

In my n = 1 observation, the annual Halloween binge is subdued this year. Far fewer creepy lawn displays and stores with shrieking skulls all over the place. Good! The Halloween thing has gotten way out of hand — as if it’s our main national holiday.

While the celebration of bad spirits has turned into a commercial orgy (like Christmas … excuse me, the “holiday season”) the human side retreats. Every year there are fewer trick-or-treaters, none at all solo, huge groups chaperoned by moms. I don’t blame them, but it’s sad to see the decline of the high-trust society that characterized trick-or-treating in my long-ago childhood. We would have been laughed at if we had brought our mothers as guards.

“Every time we do something you tell me America will do this and will do that . . . I want to tell you something very clear: Don’t worry about American pressure on Israel. We, the Jewish people, control America, and the Americans know it.” Ariel Sharon, October 3, 2001, to Shimon Peres, as reported on Kol Yisrael radio.

“Everybody has to move, run and grab as many hilltops as they can to enlarge the settlements because everything we take now will stay ours… Everything we don’t grab will go to them.” Ariel Sharon, Israeli Foreign Minister, addressing a meeting of militants from the extreme right-wing Tsomet Party, Agence France Presse, November 15, 1998.

“We did not know what to do with them [surrendered Egyptian POWs in 1956]. There was no choice but to kill them. This is not such a big deal if you take into consideration that I slept well after having escaped the crematories of Auschwitz.” Retired Israeli brigadier general Arieh Biro, The New York Times, August 21, 1995.

“We have to kill all the Palestinians unless they are resigned to live here as slaves.” Chairman Heilbrun of the Committee for the Re-election of General Shlomo Lahat, the mayor of Tel Aviv, October 1983.

“We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimetre of Eretz Israel… Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours.” Rafael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces – Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 13 April 1983, New York Times 14 April 1983.

“When we have settled the land, all the Arabs will be able to do about it will be to scurry around like drugged cockroaches in a bottle.” Raphael Eitan, Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defence Forces, New York Times, 14 April 1983.

“The Palestinians are beasts walking on two legs.” Menahim Begin, speech to the Knesset, quoted in Amnon Kapeliouk, “Begin and the Beasts”. New Statesman, 25 June 1982.

“Spirit the penniless population across the frontier by denying it employment… Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly.” Theodore Herzl, founder of the World Zionist Organization, speaking of the Arabs of Palestine, Complete Diaries, June 12, 1895 entry.

“Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves…politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves… The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country.” Speech by David Ben-Gurion, 1938, quoted in Zionism and the Palestinians by Simha Flapan, 1979.

“A partial Jewish State is not the end, but only the beginning. I am certain that we can not be prevented from settling in the other parts of the country and the region.” David Ben Gurion, in a letter to his son, 1937.

Ukraine- Zelensky has been talking about a “peace formula” (whatever that is) meeting in Malta, with “many nations” ready to participate.

    No mention of Russia, though.

EXcept he did call a recent strike by Russia a “terrorist attack”.

How does that work, a peace conference without the side you are at war with, and why aren’t we hearing more about it?

BTW, here’s some more on what we almost all already knew, the fact that Ukraine was not allowed to make peace with Russia early on because of the United States:

“Wow! Ex leader of Germany confirms revelations by ex Israeli PM & Ukrainian media: “At the peace negotiations in Istanbul in March 2022 with Rustem Umerov, the Ukrainians did not agree on peace because they were not allowed to. For everything they discussed, they first had to ask the Americans.”

          • Night Owl October 23, 2023 at 2:28 pm #

Nope. Markets have to be regulated to a degree, monopolies broken up, and private interests seperate from public institutions. A nice mixed economy, where business is business, and the people’s institutions and elected officials police things as needed.

One of the most damaging things to ever happen in the US was to allow lobbyists to take over DC, and later, to promote “public-private” partnership.

There is also the problem of the Fed, but everyone knows that already.

      Beryl,

What really steams me is that many sources REPORTED ON THIS AT THE TIME, back in March and April 2022….

The problem is that these sources — many of which I only know about because I follow various Telegram accounts — are not read or watched by most Americans. Most Americans think that FOX and talk radio are some sort of reality-based counterpoint to CNN and the New York Times. In reality, they are ALL tools of the globalist cabal that also runs the federal government.

So your average American had no idea that their own government sabotaged the peace in March 2022. Think of all the lives lost, bodies mutilated, families broken, communities scattered, land contaminated, and farms and industries destroyed… since March 2022.

What the U.S. has done to Ukraine is a crime against humanity. We will be punished, one way or another, since, as JHK articulates so well today, reality is ultimately inescapable.

  18. PeteAtomic October 23, 2023 at 10:46 am #

“Instead of weakening Russia, it crippled the USA. V. Putin is not the enemy of Western Civ, he’s one of its last remaining defenders. Was it not in everyone’s interest that for seventy-five years Ukraine existed as an inert borderland, making trouble for nobody, itself especially? Could we not respect that reality and leave it alone?”

The US is a stupid, childish giant. Stumbling around with its rotting wooden club, it sways from its fentanyl intoxication, swinging blindly to & fro, trying its hardest for a street fight against anyone, anywhere– whether that enemy is Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, Syria…. anybody.

Thanks to our host for today’s wise and, as always, beautifully expressed essay. I have hope, in spite of all that I see around me, and your words, Jim, underline that hope and raise my spirits.

In my small, remote corner of the world, the insanity can seem very far away and not entirely real – and then, suddenly, close and threatening, slithering into our lives through the wires.

Even so – two nurses at our
dinky little local hospital, strangers to me, offered to come to my house and help me to stack firewood. I know the local people well enough to be aware that they never make an idle gesture; when they offer to help, if you accept, they’re there in a heartbeat and prepared for anything. My husband and I have received more outright love and practical help from these “deplorables” than I would have believed was left in the world.

There are other pockets of civilisation to be found, most of them equally unlikely looking at first glance, and these are the places from which the world will be rebuilt.

        • Anthea October 23, 2023 at 6:39 pm #

          @ Rowdypiglet:

Yes, I live in a place like that. Last fall some neighbors brought over a splitter, after the firewood was cut. But that’s just one of many kindnesses. As long as such places exist, the world will be rebuilt.

“V. Putin is not the enemy of Western Civ, he’s one of its last remaining defenders.”

      THANK YOU.

The Western media’s demonization of Russia, and particularly of Vladimir Putin, has been such an effective brainwashing that it would make Goebbels envious.

The reality is exactly the opposite of the Western media narrative. As was said last March by Archbishop Carlo Vigano, the man whom many of us Catholics look to as a spiritual beacon in the absence of a legitimate living pope:
“The Russian Federation undeniably stands as the last bastion of civilization against barbarism….”

In reference to ” families growing broke in America”, I live in rural coastal plain rural NC and have noticed the subdivision houses increasingly placed here are not only selling, but still being built. Development has slowed down a bit I think, but still moving at a pretty good clip. I can’t imagine spending a minimum of 350K for these “new homes” and financing it at close to 8% for 30 years, but that’s what people are still doing.

I think it may be a kind of crack up boom. If people qualify for the home loan they take it, figuring it will only be more difficult in the future. I hope it stops soon, before they build even more, creating more of what I moved to escape.

Karl Denninger, the Ticker Guy, has been making blunt warnings about real estate:

“Prognostication: Almost everyone buying real estate now, and almost everyone who has bought it in the last two years, is going to be SEVERELY underwater and unable to refinance for a decade or more. If you buy to live in it and can make the payments, fine. If not, you’re SCREWED.”

We live in a twisted country, in which we worship “the economy” as some sort of god that needs constant sacrifices.

“Housing starts” are reported with chirpy voices by the news readers, while homeless people are ignored.

Someone upthread pointed out that Mitch McConnell thinks that Americans will be thrilled to work in bomb factories.

Well, yeah, if that’s the only work to be found that pays. That, and working in prisons.

But is there no actual work to be done to improve this country and the lives of its citizens?
Yes, there is, but it doesn’t pay, so it isn’t done.
And no one seems to realize how strange that is. We sacrifice the children with vaccines and puberty blockers, simply because it makes big money for Big Pharma, and that is considered normal, although literally throwing them into volcanoes is no longer done.

      Weirdest “economy” ever.

      • Jarek October 23, 2023 at 12:42 pm #

Yes. Under the reign of Usura, our money has babies but our women do not.

An engine only works – that is to say, produce “work” because the explosion is contained. Likewise, a Capitalist economy can only work to the extent it is contained. Open borders means no containment, no pressure, no work.

That’s what developers do – build. Having spent almost my entire career brokering RE transactions of all types, I can tell you there will be many bankruptcies occurring.

    • Rowdypiglet October 23, 2023 at 1:58 pm #

@Jimpa, A young couple in my extended family, living about an hour from Philadelphia, just bought a house for $630,000.00. They’re both 28 years old, make decent money but far from rich. The house is nice but nothing special – a carefully kept tract house from the early 1960s. I can see no conceivable way that they can pay for this house for more than a few years, if they’re very lucky. The selling price of the house is far beyond what it’s worth in any sane market; it would have sold for about $80,000 not at all long ago. A reckoning is coming, and it won’t be pretty.

    • Jimpa October 25, 2023 at 2:40 pm #

Guess I was right in my observations.
      This Headline from Market Watch:

U.S. new-home sales just ‘defied gravity,’ surging to highest level since February 2022

Maybe it’s still a good time to buy a home now. The US is now running a 1.7 trillion yearly deficit, something most are inured to thinking about now. Even Powell is saying it’s not sustainable. Maybe high inflation is our future. In that case, an 8% mortgage might not be so bad.

      Paula

Very good. The list of signatory was interesting too, many different types, even some well known celebrities.

Problem here is that our own government hates the contents of this declaration as it is a control on their ability to indoctrinate the public.

The Democratic Party with its insistence that everything that they do not espouse is “misinformation”. A greater form of censorship has not been found.

The only way to fix our Democratic problem is to convince the 50+% Jim talks about that their gimme attitude is wrong.

When pigs fly, that is why the ship is sinking.

If this Declaration was an international treaty, what do you suppose its chances of clearing approval by our Senate would be?

      0 or maybe -10?

In the past, JHK has mentioned that we won’t be able to form up capital like we used to and he’s illustrated the sources that create that capital i.e. financial, social, cultural, political, and material.

I think the form of Reality to hit us first will be the inability to form up legitimate AUTHORITY. Before capital in any form can be assembled, or reassembled, a legitimate authority must exist to order it into being and manage its distribution.

Once the West, as we’ve known it has lost all credibility (and hence authority), who can declare that he is the new center and on what basis? Who has the credibility to form up that kind and scale of authority to restore sanity in the world?

The “multi-polar world” seems attractive to those who are weary of the current malevolent system but, I can see that fracturing rather quickly as well.

Here’s a dollop of reality: the average American adult cannot do one deep squat, one pushup (men from toes, women from knees), or run one mile at any pace. Well prepared for hard times we are.

Once gasoline becomes rationed, very expensive, often stolen, and sometimes simply unavailable – the average American adult will slim down a lot because walking and bicycles will become the new method of transport – along with small displacement high tech and extremely high mpg motorbikes. Riding a motorbike also requires getting in shape and getting ready for doing battle – and I’m talking real battle – with the elements. You’ll be riding in cold, heat, rain, and even snow. Being out of shape simply won’t cut it if you’re living what’s basically an African lifestyle on dirt and gravel roads for the rural areas. In the long emergency everyone will be in shape. That’s what happens in a world made by hand.

In Switzerland and France, people eat cream, butter, cheese, potatoes, bread, chocolate… but you very rarely see a fat person. Wanna know why? 1. At meals, they eat modest portion sizes, and never have seconds; 2. They don’t snack between meals, and they don’t eat highly-processed/”convenience” foods; 3. They walk and bike everywhere.

        • Heartlander October 23, 2023 at 1:59 pm #

          • Anthea October 23, 2023 at 7:46 pm #

Groundhog’s description of “African” lifestyle dirt and gravel roads in rural areas is not all that much different from US lifestyles in the 40s–and even into the 50s in some places. Subsistence farming was quite the usual thing in the US for about half of the 20th Century: outhouses, no running water, canning every vegetable that would hold still long enough, shelling beans next to the wood stove in winter, walking to and from school in the snow, etc.

One of my high school friends grew up without running water in the 50s and 60s, in the little town of Lake City. It’s near the Lake City Army Ammunition plant, and I suppose the plant was named after it. She drove me out to see the town recently, because, even though I grew up in the area and had heard of Lake City, I had no idea where it was and thought it must be an imaginary place. Anyway, it’s still there, almost unchanged. There are about twelve houses there.

Some of the old ladies around here, who are not all that much older than I am, tell me that their bedspreads were made from flour sacks. (Maybe their dresses too.)

I think people forget that the present almost insane affluence has only been around for a few decades. Sometimes it seems a little insane, even to me, and I grew up in what was a middle-class home (with running water and such) for that era. In some ways, it kind of scares me that I can go online and order a spice mill and a soap cutter, and hear that my daughters have bought a new sectional, put up fall decorations, and bought seasonal throw pillows, when my grandparents sat on split-bottomed chairs.

My mother used to say that today’s world wasn’t better. It was just different. (That’s what she said her old-lady friends also said.) Happiness doesn’t have much to do with whether you have a big flat-screen TV or a fancy house or fancy furniture. It really has to do with the people in your life.

        • Night Owl October 23, 2023 at 2:40 pm #

It is also because cream, butter, cheese, and chocolate don’t really make one fat.

Fat comes from eating lots of carbs and sugars. Carbs turn to sugar and refined sugar in particular is evil.

If you have not tried it. Spend a few months eating largely protein. Some veggies and yoghurt for the gut.

You will not only drop weight, you will build muscle like a demon if you do any physical activity.

I have been chopping wood for the winter all week while eating this diet and I think I have gone up a full shirt size.

          😀

          • BackRowHeckler October 23, 2023 at 3:08 pm #

Owl what’s the situation in Germany as far as felling trees? Can you cut down a tree on your own property or do you need to get a permit from the town? Also is there any problem with having a woodstove in your house?

          • Night Owl October 23, 2023 at 4:27 pm #

Anything over 80 cm in height requires a permit. Some species are protected.

Most of our neighbors are cool, so we were able to cut down some that needed to go. We replaced them (plus a few more)as I like things idyllic.

No problem with the stove yet in the burbs, but the green/red coalition nutters are working on that…

          • Night Owl October 23, 2023 at 4:38 pm #

A side note here, too: When I took down the trees (about 19 altogether; many sick) I was out back with a chain saw for 3-4 days.

When I think back, we got lucky that we never got a visit from anyone.

            @ Night Owl:

            Yes, that’s true.

I do think that part of our problem in the US is that the food has all kinds of poisons in it, many of which are endocrine disruptors. So it’s really possible to be unable to lose weight, even on that kind of diet. But such a diet works great for most people.

As a diabetic, I can tell you that the struggle against carbs is very real.

Women need strength training just as much as do men, especially after menopause.

If you have a bad back or other physical limitations, you can use bolsters, ropes, even furniture (for leverage, balance).

A good place to start, combining aerobic with anaerobic exercise, is to ruck with small weights, gradually adding more weight and duration.

    • tuco22 October 23, 2023 at 2:16 pm #

This is unfortunately true. But when I was in the military, they’d changed women’s pushups to those that the men did, albeit with less reps required.

Reality is an interesting word. It is a time dependent variable. What is ‘reality’ at this instant is not ‘reality’ and instant later. Example: Reality is that there is a piece of candy on my desk but a moment later reality is there is no candy on my desk. This is a microscopic version of ‘reality’. The macroscopic version of ‘reality’ is simply a totality of all the microscopic versions. The NYT hospital explosion was reality for a while with some people until it was proven (?) a hoax.

    • JimInFlorida2.0 October 23, 2023 at 11:50 am #

Could it be that Hunter and Joe Biden, looking around the US realized that it was a shell of its former self and that there were very few money makers in the USA. So they went offshore to do their investing.

Now it is time to protect the Biden family wealth by using US Treasury assets.

The manipulations of Ukraine by the Biden Mob are infamous. They were also defended by the Deep State as they were the basis for Impeachment no 1.

    /www.coffeeandcovid.com/p/intelligence-failures-monday-october?utm_source=post-email-title&publication_id=463409&post_id=138218400&utm_campaign=email-post-title&isFreemail=true&r=16mno&utm_medium=email

    • Paula D October 23, 2023 at 12:06 pm #

That is very interesting, Rowdy. Sounds very plausible to me also.

I seem to remember demonstrations and riots in Israel a few months back, and some people then pointing out that it sure looked like a Color Revolution to get rid of Bibi.
And we know that both Obama and Biden hate Bibi.

And now this. Yep, very plausible.

But I don’t see why Israel “has to” invade Gaza. That will just kill off a bunch of Israeli soldiers and cause a wider war, while killing mostly civilians, since Hamas fighters are safe in the tunnels. And most of those killed will be children, since half of the people in Gaza are children. The propaganda value of parading dead children around will be immense. And the whole thing is illegal.

What is the point of that?

      • OG October 23, 2023 at 1:04 pm #

Q: “What is the point of that?”

A: “That will just kill off a bunch of Israeli soldiers and cause a wider war, while killing mostly civilians, since Hamas fighters are safe in the tunnels. And most of those killed will be children, since half of the people in Gaza are children.”

Zionists plan for Israel to be much larger than it is now. Greater Israel, they call it. They plan on having all the land from the Mediterranean Sea to the River Euphrates.

That, of course, can only be accomplished via war. Israel has chosen to, now, go to war.

Exactly like the Bible tells us. Identical.

        • JohnAZ October 23, 2023 at 1:40 pm #

To acquire the promised land, the land of milk and honey. The Hebrews of Israel have been combatants in the ME for thousands of years, Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Macedonia, Rome. All of these are gone, Israel persists.

          • Jarek October 23, 2023 at 2:10 pm #

No Egypt is still there. So is Persia, Rome, etc. There are still Assyrians too.

But they have utterly changed in form and/or name! Uh, so have the Jews.

It’s not the same culture or religion. Even the Orthodox aren’t Old Testament Jews. A little thing called the Talmud is between them and that now. And they don’t look the same either. So are they the same people?

They invoke genetic markers to say yes, at least in some sense. Ok, I won’t disagree at that level. We’re not the same either after all.

      • JohnAZ October 23, 2023 at 1:20 pm #

To stop it, Paula. Israel needs to stop Hamas which is different than Gaza or the Palestinians.

Right now, Israel is trying to get the “civilians” out of Gaza to clobber the Hamas thugs and their infrastructure. Nobody else in the Arab world wants them as they know, unlike Biden, that uncontrolled immigration of dissidents leads to disaster.

    • JohnAZ October 23, 2023 at 12:13 pm #

Complacency maybe? A failure of Israel’s Deep State to acknowledge the intelligence they had.

How about the CIA, did it not know that Gaza grumblings might bring on the battle zone?

      Or was it all planned?

      Like Pearl Harbor?

I heard of a theory like that early on. I don’t know if I trust Patrick Byrne though, I’m trying to remember something I recently learned about him but I can’t.

What I do know is what we heard at first, that Israel was just caught napping, made no sense at all.

It didn’t make sense because it didn’t happen.

No one seems too interested in finding out what did happen either, which I find passing strange.

If someone did do this to set Bibi up, he’s not about to let the world know that he knows, at this juncture.

      • beantownbill. October 23, 2023 at 1:47 pm #

I definitely don’t trust Patrick Byrne. He talks a very good game, but everything he says is open to question.

      • OG October 23, 2023 at 2:10 pm #

If someone did do this to set Bibi up & No one seems too interested in finding out what did happen either, which I find passing strange.

Bibi runs the latter. Perhaps Bibi was not set-up as much as he is the perp.

        • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2023 at 3:21 pm #

That’s another theory I heard almost right away. I don’t find that credible for various reasons, but until we know what did happen, we don’t know what didn’t.

I have a theory that someone just wanted borders opened up over there really bad, and they were wiling to do whatever it took to bring that about, and if it wiped out the Gazans, so be it; or perhaps, even better.

          • OG October 23, 2023 at 3:23 pm #

Huh? Cui bono if the Gazans are genocided? Of course it’s credible.

          • OG October 23, 2023 at 3:27 pm #

Fifteen (15) undetected holes big enough for terrorists on motorbikes while gaggles of other terrorists go undetected gently floating over the world’s most surveilled border?

I guess that “Bibi’s in on it” was a theory one would hear right away. It’s the clear front-runner towards matching reality.

Our culture has turned its back on its Judeo-Christian roots for so long that few remember the idea behind both Halloween and Mardi Gras. For Christians at least, they were a day to party before a more sober time of prayer and introspection.
Halloween is a corruption of Eve of All Hallows, (ie. saints). It was a day to acknowledge, at least figuratively the dark side. The day after is All Saints Day a day to pray for those who have gone to the Lord. At least when I was growing up, church that day was mandatory. Forget about all the candy until after school.
Mardi Gras is similar. It’s a last time to party before 40 days of prayer and fasting during the run-up to Easter called Lent. As the contexts of them are forgotten those holidays, like so much else in contemporary culture, have become empty commercialized spectacles.

Lent is the attempt to correct our sinful side with positive control, right?

So why do we have to exercise out sinful self to the max just before?

Ramadan is an Islamic similarity to Lent, and its completion is celebrated by all the stuff you did not do during its course.

    • Jarek October 23, 2023 at 12:55 pm #

Halloween is Samhain, a liminal time before the coming of the Darkness. The Christians put a holiday on the next day to try and steal the Pagan Thunder.

How many drag the U.S. into their imbroglios and wars that serve no direct benefit to American?

How many others rely/depend on the United States to defend them and their actions in wars and in UN veto actions?

How many others have undue, unparalleled, and unrestrained influence in US domestic and foreign policy? In U.S. elections?

Perhaps we would care more about Mexican inequalities if they were deciding our foreign policy, if our candidates were running over there to kiss the ring or a pyramid. Spouting off the talking points that Mexican interests preapproved? If Mexican Americans were an enormous funding source of election campaigns.

Islander, who is the fool here. Your ignorance of much of anything is astounding.

    Here goes.

Starting in 1917, the Balfour Declaration as issued by Britain as a public statement of its support for a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine, then a part of the newly deposed Ottoman Empire.

The rest of this is from the Office of the Historian for the US State Department as milestones from 1945 to 1952.

In 1945, FDR stated the US would not interfere in Palestine without consulting with both sides. The Brits opposed the creation of separate states in Palestine at the time. Britain held the control mandate in Palestine at the time.

Both powers, fresh from negotiations with the oil rich Arab states, were afraid of pissing off the Arabs with support for the Zionists at the time. Oil, oil, oil.

In 1946, Truman declared his support for Jewish immigration into Palestine and the creation of a Jewish state there. You can bet he talked to the Arabs before his declarations.

Throughout 1947, The United Nations Special Commission on Palestine examined the Palestinian question and recommended partition into two states, Jewish and Arab.

On November 29, 1947, Resolution 181 called the Partition resolution, partitioned Palestine into two states, Jewish and Arab in May 1948 when GB mandate expired. On May 17, Israel was created.

After 75 years of back and forth, treaties and wars, the two states are still there.

Islander, who is the fool, fool? Next time, know what the hell you are talking about.

I wouldn’t depend too much on “history” books, John. That summary sounds nice, but is it really what happened?

When one moves away from official narratives, one thing is clear: a state was carved out in a territory for a popluation that did not previously exist in said territory. It was carved out by men with power, money, and lots of fucking guns.

And another red flag: That state is supported by it’s parent states (not really states of course but rather an amorphous blob of money and power) regardless of the cost of supporting it.

Speaking of Musk, he has been getting more than his share of HEAT from the obedient, well-trained corporate media. Specifically, the DS-tight Conde Nast: WIRED has a recent long-whine about how the Russians are capitalizing on the billionaire’s lack of enthusiasm for the Uke-Black Hole:

        Xttps://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-mocked-ukraine-russian-trolls-went-wild/

I suggest you read along well-lubricated with salt, the way you would approach an old-timey PRAVDA or IZVESTIA rant. What is amusing to me is how the elite clearly feels wounded by this apparent betrayal from “…one of their own…”

(Not simply a player but likely the richest-of-the-rich, though that is a hard metric to figure accurately)

Musk is a curious sort, innocent in his fashion; a recent video clip showed a clown car-full of heavies piling out of a limo before Musk himself stepped out. Obviously there are ongoing security concerns, and I’d have them too if I mashed toes the way he has.

His bodyguards looked like a pack of gym rats you’d hire as extras for an action film. If TPTB really wanted the errant South African dead he’d be liquidated without a doubt, with or without the intimidating ring of goombahs.

Living offshore, but as a kid-of-the-50s, well-doused in Exceptionalist State propaganda (growing up as the kid of a career SAC officer didn’t hurt either, in terms of brainwashing), I can appreciate the current frantic media-merry-go-round from a different perspective than those on board in Der Homeland.

The rise of BRICS and a general dismay with and distancing from Uncle’s threats and bleatings – not to mention an unending string of fails – has been one of the most curious and intriguing aspects of this New Era.

I’m seeing signs of dismay here, in a region known for its wariness and discretion when it comes to fatal alliances. Note that no ASEAN country has been attempting to horn in to the “Five Eyes” gang: nothing in it for them except heat from their biggest supplier and customer.

“On May 17, Israel was created.”

      See “Use of the passive.”

Actually, “On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel. U.S. President Harry S. Truman recognized the new nation on the same day.”

      Not created by the UN.

      “1947 – 1977: Partition plan, 1948, 1967, 1973 wars, inalienable rights

After looking at alternatives, the UN ***proposed*** terminating the Mandate and partitioning Palestine into two independent States, one Palestinian Arab and the other Jewish, with Jerusalem internationalized (Resolution 181 (II) of 1947). ***One of the two envisaged States PROCLAIMED ITS INDEPENDENCE as Israel and in the 1948 war involving neighbouring Arab States EXPANDED TO 77 PERCENT the territory of mandate Palestine, including the larger part of Jerusalem.”

Everyone knows that Israel proclaimed its own existence, in a deal with Truman. And that it did so IN VIOLATION OF in violation of what the UN had proposed and what the UNGS had voted on (and even that UN proposed partition was unfair to the Pals).

Israel has since then scoffed at not only Res. 181 but all other resolutions relating to Palestine.
Putin now proposes the the UNGA force Israel to adhere to Res. 181.

    I found this>
the USS Liberty in which 200 Americans were killed/wounded in an attack by Israeli forces lasting longer than Pearl Harbor.

After torpedoing, napalming and machine-gunning the Liberty for nigh over 2 hours, Israeli forces fired on three life rafts the crew threw overboard leaving them trapped.

You left out the fact that Israel has sold US military secrets to China for decades helping build it into a superpower. Thus as America’s power wanes, China is set to overtake us.

You left out the Five Dancing Israelis arrested on 911. Upon returning to Israel they were interviewed on live TV where one of them said ”we were there to DOCUMENT THE EVENT’.
You left out the fact that the only mass arrests connected to 911 were of 200 Israeli ‘art students’. As per James Cameron of Fox News, “Some were on active military duty. Many had explosives training”.
You left out the fact that Silverstein who leased the Towers was good pals with Netanyahu who said 911 was ‘VERY GOOD’ for Israel. No kidding. 911 led to Middle East wars in which America fought Israel’s enemies.
Netanyahu even lobbied Congress for war with Iraq in Sep 2002. Iraq was attacked a few months later on Purim 2003! A war which led to thousands of dead, 400,000 wounded vets. Yet in which not one Israeli fought.
Now we are being sucked into the region again. Taking out Iran is a key goal of Netanyahu and the neocons. Which is why you’ve got so many IDF bots crawling over this site trying to manufacture consent for a new war.
Which once again America will be expected to fight, while Israel sits back as it did it Iraq. These Israel-Flrsters do their *fighting* online to sucker Americans into war. While America bears the brunt.
I don’t agree with those countries burning flags but they do it because America has been tearing up the region on behalf of Israel, as you well know.
By the way Jews are vastly over-represented in neocon movements calling for America to fight Israel’s enemies ….Yet vastly under-represented among those doing the fighting making up only 0.3% of America’s military.
I’d say it’s also an odd Democracy which denies 4 million the vote including many Christians. But I guess it’s the only spin you’ve got especially as Israel NEVER fought in a single war alongside America.

Does the US, and Britain, get involved in all this Middle East intrigue because of Israel or because of oil,

Or both. Would the US be involved as much if the Arabs did not control the oil market?

Were you around in 1973, when folks were killing each other because of the oil crisis. Do you realize that oils scarcity is one of the main drivers of inflation for 70 years.

Israel makes a little brother for the US in the ME, especially with the extent of the Jewish population here. It has pretty much taken care of itself, making a good proxy for the West.

BTW, that may be tested again now or soon as BRICS++ starts flexing its muscles.

      • malthuss October 23, 2023 at 1:43 pm #

Oil = modern life. In JHKs book TLE he says oil=having slaves.

      • Socrates-Detroit October 24, 2023 at 12:41 am #

        Well said Malthus.

“Israel is a good proxy” Really?

What has Israel done for the US? Beside consume copious amounts of our tax dollars, while this country goes broke?

In 1973, Americans were not as wimpy as they are now, and they were more…”American”. Just wait to see how things play out this time, if the Persian Gulf states decide America needs a little “attitude adjustment”.

The US wrecked Vietnam. The US bombed Serbia. The US wrecked Iraq, Libya, and Syria. All illegal wars with no vital interests, or where no war was needed. All the millions of dead, wounded and displaced cry out for justice.

The US facilitates Israel’s apartheid state.

Over the years, JHK has intelligently pointed out the straws that will break the camel’s back and lead to the Long Emergency, but he skipped over the Military Industrial Complex.

That’s a brick on top of the straws.

There is a God and America has much to atone for, And so does Israel.

In the Old Testament, God let (or used) others to punish the wicked Israelites who strayed. These others didn’t necessarily enjoy God’s favor, but they worked His will.

Remember that when it comes to BRICS.

Halloween: Victoria Secret hired Megan Rapinoe as a model? What were they thinking? They just fired her as the shares were tending down. The market to the rescue!

Kat Von D is “blacking out” many of her many tattoos instead of getting them removed. She’s a Christian now! Why not get them removed? Too painful? She says likes the black skin in any case.

She’s keeping the tattoo of her father’s face. His white face surrounded by blackness. Is this a curse against her father? Or just the reality of our times showing itself in, or rather on, the Oracle of her Body?

        @ malthus:

I’ve heard that many “high fashion” models for all venues are really men, since the 70s. The desired body type for modeling “high fashion” is distinctly masculine: slim hips and long legs. Also little or nothing in the way of breasts. A rather “strong” facial bone structure is another marker.

“… the massive investment in Halloween yard shrines by families growing broke in America reflects the ghoulish convergence of malevolent events undermining and overtaking what used to be normal life… Nothing is normal anymore…”.

People are desperate to get their minds off all the pain and death going on around the World. And so, they create a home version of images of pain and death in their front yards to blow off some pain-and-death steam and to try to lighten the mood of people in the neighborhood by providing all those folks more images of pain and death. Death wearing a smile and a wink.

And what about our young people? How can we comfort them and ground them with stability in such perilous times? By installing more creative and pervasive trappings of pain and death! That will keep everyone distracted from all the ways we are methodically being done-in by the Hidden Hand now lead by the Grim One.

The Grim Reaper is not just running loose upon the Earth… but he has been installed in the Big Chair of the Hidden Hand that runs our World. All those false-god families that have run the World for the past few hundred years have ceded that Chair to the Grimster whom embodies the kind of pain and death that those legacy families enjoy and have fostered on the Planet for uncounted generations.

“… the first principle of US life in our time: that anything goes and nothing matters.”

“Anything Goes” was already done by Cole Porter. “Nothing Really Matters” was done by Madonna. See? The World is simply catching up with Cole Porter and Madonna.

And, “I Feel Free” was done by Cream… but since nobody really feels free anymore we don’t resonate with that one these days.

“… why do we allow that other half to drag us to the bone orchard? Do you see what it means to get your mind right when times get hard and the path is uncertain?”

When one’s spirit is broken, they give up. They don’t want to get their mind right. They don’t want to do much of anything. They just surrender and want the pain to go away. And We the People have been mentally and spiritually ground into the mud for generations by the Hidden Hand now lead by the Grim Reaper.

People don’t know what ‘normal’ is any more. Or perhaps, we have simply surrendered to the Madness and we installed a Sickly New Normal as our current and future version of a Normal that is anything but.

“It is possible to have faith in ourselves. Even as the days grow shorter, the people of this land can gather in the remaining light instead of worshipping the darkness.”

How does one get a zest for life back when most of all that has been drained by a lifestyle of misery? By recognizing that Life was NOT meant to be all pain and death and misery. There’s beauty in this World. Lots of it. All one has to do is to take their mind and spirit off of the Dark and allow the Light to enter in. That Light is bright and warming and healing. But no one but you can choose which window you view Life through. The Dark and The Light windows sit side-by-side. Only you get to choose which way you want to look.

I appreciate the kind words, beantown and OG.

When Our Host says, “While we are here, we have an obligation to those who come after us. The dead can take care of themselves. It is possible to have faith in ourselves.”

As much of the World wallows in pain and disconnection from self… there remains a remnant of folks on the Planet who remember what Reality is like and who crave and pray for a return to sanity and civility in our World.

And as for who will lead and light the way back to this Planetary Sanity… all you folks that gather on these pages every week are a pretty good group to carry the torch in your life circle. There is yet hope for the World as hope rules in your heart.

          • beantownbill. October 23, 2023 at 6:28 pm #

Yes, although it seems hopeless at times, what is life without hope?

          • Roundball Shaman October 23, 2023 at 7:14 pm #

beantownbill “… although it seems hopeless at times, what is life without hope?”

And what is Hope? It is not some passive or whimpy thing as some might think. It takes raw courage to have hope in a Savage Age. This when you as an individual say, ‘Hell no. I don’t accept any of this bad crap the way things appear to be now. I demand a better future. I lead my mind and spirit… not what is going on in the World or whatever someone else tells me to be and think.’

Having hope is radical power. It is the energy from which the other answers we seek will come from. Hope is not meekly waiting for ‘something good’ to happen out of thin air. Having hope is taking the steering wheel and MAKING something good happen. And when the Thin Air sees that… it responds in kind and other good things manifest.

Hope is confidence and resilience and faith. It is what leads the path to living a good and meaningful life.

Statistically speaking, bad times ARE the norm or reality.

Is Reality the Carven block of Masonry or the Uncarved Block of Zen?

Psychologically, the Carven block. Metaphysically, the Uncarven block.

          • Roundball Shaman October 25, 2023 at 5:31 pm #

Jarek: “Statistically speaking, bad times ARE the norm or reality.”

            Yes and no.

There is the (‘apparent’) Outer World of faux-matter and human ‘events’ in which we collectively live. And then there is the Inner World (the World in our Minds/Spirit i.e. the ‘real World’) which can be untouched and unaffected by all that appears to go on around it (if we choose to use it that way. We can give in and contribute to the madness if we choose to). And the Outer World is but a reflection of what goes on in one’s Inner World.

So as you speak of bad times being the norm… there is always a mix of good times going on with the bad at every moment. And when bad events do happen in the Outer World… this is the end result of a mind collective of individuals who choose to conjure and create such bad events that are being hatched in their Inner World… and bad Spirit.

‘Reality’ means more than one thing. It requires a context. Our most fundamental reality is that we live in a Quantum Matrix of unlimited potentials that exist concurrently. It is only when we ‘Collapse the Wave’ (as Quantum scientists put it) by our ‘Observation’ that one of these Realities becomes manifest (chosen). So in short… ‘bad times are the norm’ when there are a sufficient number of individuals on this Earth who Observe it that way. The more people who choose to get their minds out of the gutter… the Outer World immediately begins to improve its station.

The ‘Outer World’ is always a reflection of our Spirit(s) manifested. This is the secret to bringing Heaven or choosing to live in Hell.

“Do you see what it means to get your mind right when times are hard and the path is uncertain.”

The path truly is uncertain and that is exactly what I have the most difficulty accepting.

I hate this feeling of not knowing for sure, of the deepening sense that my personal interpretation of reality seems pretty inadequate.

Maybe this is the personally painful truth about my world-view–being extremely uncomfortable with uncertainty.

    • beantownbill. October 23, 2023 at 6:36 pm #

      Jim,

Being uncomfortable with uncertainty is a pretty common feeling – you’re far from alone.

The way I deal with it is knowing there is one certainty: death. Once I accepted there’s no getting around it, at least for now, every other uncertainty seems trivial. I am gonna die, period, either presently or in a while.

    • Anthea October 23, 2023 at 8:40 pm #

      @ Bilejones:

I think what’s most to the point–and which I’ve had trouble finding an appropriate place to make the comment–it that none of this is our (the US’s) problem.

What we have in Israel is two groups of people fighting over a piece of real estate, just as people have customarily done for tens of thousands of years. This is of course within a context of the whole surrounding Arab world, which has also been fighting over real estate for tens of thousands of years. Not our problem–nor is it likely that we can have any lasting impact on this very alien world and its wars and grievances.

We owe neither Israel nor any of the Arab states anything at all. We shouldn’t be providing support for anyone in the Middle East, in the form of either blood or treasure. Let Israel fight its own wars without our support.

Tickerforum recently posted a little cartoon video about the Middle East (Israel in particular) that sums it up:

      httpX://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tldCsMuflY

Incidentally, the claim that “this land is mine” by divine right has also been customary propaganda for thousands of years. Seems to me that people should realize that it’s a little shopworn at this point.

Supercute painting by the way. Halloween never scared me. I always liked bats, spiders, full-moonlit-nights, craggly leafless trees, attics, old Victorian houses, black cats, crows, scarecrows, ghosts, skeletons and stuff like that. Not so much the gory stuff, though, although admittedly, I did like a zombie movie scene where they asked one of the women zombies why she wanted to eat their brains and she responded in maybe an Eastern European accent, something like “To ease the pain of decay.”. I seem to recall her not having any bottom half, just an exposed spine that sort of wriggled around a little.

Maybe zombies can be reasoned with somewhat, like her, but I don’t recall them asking her to try to just skip on the brain-eating thing because then they too would turn into zombies and then have to go looking for non-zombie brains to eat until there was no one left except zombies forever full of the pain of decay.

Black Hebrew Israelites (also called Hebrew Israelites, Black Hebrews, Black Israelites, and African Hebrew Israelites) are a new religious movement claiming that African Americans are descendants of the ancient Israelites. Some sub-groups believe that Native and Latin Americans are descendants of the Israelites as well. Black Hebrew Israelites combine elements to their teaching from a wide range of sources to varying degrees. Black Hebrew Israelites incorporate certain aspects of the religious beliefs and practices of both Christianity and Judaism, though they have created their own interpretation of the Bible, and other influences include Freemasonry and New Thought, for example. Many choose to identify as Hebrew Israelites or Black Hebrews rather than Jews in order to indicate their claimed historic connections.” ~ Wikipedia

The Beta Israel… also known as Ethiopian Jews… are a Jewish community that lived for centuries in the area of the Kingdom of Aksum and the Ethiopian Empire, which is currently divided between the modern-day Amhara and Tigray regions of Ethiopia. Most of the Beta Israel community immigrated to Israel in the late 20th century…

They practice a non-Talmudic form of Judaism that is similar in some respects to Karaite Judaism. In Israel, this form of Judaism is referred to as Haymanot. Beta Israel appear to have been isolated from mainstream Jewish communities for at least a millennium. They suffered religious persecution and a significant portion of the community were forced into Christianity during the 19th and 20th centuries

The Beta Israel made contact with other Jewish communities in the later 20th century. Following this, a rabbinic debate ensued over whether or not the Beta Israel were Jews. After halakhic (Jewish law) and constitutional discussions, Israeli officials decided, in 1977, that the Israeli Law of Return was to be applied to the Beta Israel. The Israeli and American governments mounted aliyah (immigration to Israel) transport operations…

By the end of 2008, there were 119,300 people of Ethiopian descent in Israel…” ~ Wikipedia

The Kaifeng Jews… are members of a small community of descendants of Chinese Jews in Kaifeng, in the Henan province of China. In the early centuries of their settlement, they may have numbered around 2,500 people. Despite their isolation from the rest of the Jewish diaspora, their ancestors managed to practice Jewish traditions and customs for several centuries.

The distinctive customary life of the Kaifeng community slowly eroded, as assimilation and intermarriage with Han Chinese and Chinese Muslim neighbors advanced, until, by the 19th century, its Jewishness largely became extinct, apart from its retention of memories of its clan’s Jewish past.” ~ Wikipedia

    We Are All Sikhs

” ‘Yes – observant Sikh men all wear turbans and beards. One of them joked with me: “Don’t ever be embarrassed about not being able to tell us apart; we all tend to look alike.’… And to add to the potential confusion, all of the men and women use Singh and Kaur, respectively, either as a middle name or as a surname – symbolizing their rejection of a historically prevalent caste system.

And like many cultural minorities in the United States, Sikhs have paid the full price. When Sikh men show up at airport security, they are randomly searched — one hundred percent of the time — because of their turbans. Seventy per cent of Sikh boys have been bullied in schools because of their turbans.

Maybe they should consider modifying the turban requirement, and just make it optional? How American of me to think that. Sikh men simply know that they have to be at the airport that much earlier. That’s the price they choose to pay for walking a religious road with one foot, and keeping the other foot grounded in Western society.

Thank you, my Sikh friends, for teaching me the lesson of religious integrity.

American Sikhs have some very ‘Jewish’ mishigas. They want to be Americans; they want to maintain their culture. They believe that all people have the spark of God within them; they want their children to marry other Sikhs.” ~ Jewish Journal

Match.com, Mensa create dating site for geniuses

“It takes a special person to join Mensa.

For one, the elite society only takes individuals with IQ scores in the 98th percentile, meaning just 1 in 50 Americans is eligible.

This exclusivity – some might say snobbery – is part of Mensa’s lore. Early Mensans in Britain walked around with yellow buttons, organizational publications once referred to non-Mensa members as ‘Densans’, and last year, a top Mensa member and tester called anyone with an IQ of 60 a ‘carrot’.

In short, you don’t always join Mensa because you think you’re smart. You join to be set apart from most people, who are, as one member put it: ‘mundane’.

But a new partnership between American Mensa and online dating giant Match.com offers a new, enticing reason to join the society of geniuses: true love.

Beginning this week, members of the brainiac group can connect through a separate, exclusive dating service called Mensa Match. In addition, Match.com members can add a special Mensa badge to their profiles, signaling a specific interest in connecting with a single person with a confirmed genius-level IQ score.” ~ CNN.com

Because of their turbans? Ha ha. It’s good that they identify themselves so readily.

      The wisdom of racial profiling.

You want to be on a plane during the next Flight 182?

If law-abiding Sikhs are bitching about being frisked during airport check-ins, maybe they should re-direct their frustration and anger toward their own t.errorist brethren who’ve caused the justified suspicion.

We can then survey stats and history from India. No mystery that one is much safer in mid- or South India, where the population is heavily Hindu, as compared to the much more heavily demographic skewing in the North toward Muslims and Sikhs.

Well that was just part of the copy-paste and not really part of the point.

Nevertheless, unsure where you reside, but it’s practically a running joke that when so-called Americans travel to many places overseas they, so despised at they seem to be or feel they are, masquerade as Canadians.

If some people are going to identify with State governments, and questionable ones at that, like anything, like quantum entanglement, it’s going to have its consequences.

Again, WRT identification, there’s more than one way to skin a cat.

  54. gustafson.robert.22 October 23, 2023 at 6:28 pm #

Main thread in U.S. geopolitical policy is cowardice (and shortsighted capitalism), has been since Vietnam, probably before.

Backing Israel is sort of “the closest we are willing to get to an actual war with any Islamic powers,” hiding behind Israel to do it, letting them dictate the policy, extent and direction.

The Iraq and Afghanistan wars guzzled funds and accomplished nothing.

If U.S. wants an actual war with Islamic powers to secure actual longterm influence in and power over the region, the U.S. should do it, no half measures and no proxy, half-measure wars. If Israel is a vehicle for U.S. policy, it should be the U.S. accomplishing its own goals first. But the U.S. has no real goals or principles. In the absence of any real unified policy-direction or resolve, lobbying interests dictate all U.S. policies… the special-interest groups with means, and the corporations and contracting interests. Even globocap influence functions by filling the vacuum of real direction, vision and resolve among the people or their elected leaders.

    Disagree?

    • JohnAZ October 23, 2023 at 7:11 pm #

‘But the US has no real goals or principles”.

Absolutely right. We have no expansion, no war, nothing.

Nothing to identify us an an American entity at all.

      Congress: “Done!”
Treasury: “Hey Fed, we need another x billion.”
Fed cackles maniacally while rubbing their hands together.

      Treasury: “Done!”

They are responsible for fighting a lot of the Indian wars. They were Black.

Apologists will never get it, when a technologically superior group of humans need to expand because of resource problems, like disease or famine, they will expand to the detriment of natives.

No, but I have heard of the Sand Creek massacre where a group of Arapaho old men, women and kids were annihilated by a deranged army officer and the Colorado militia. I’ve been posting a lot here, mostly because I just retired and I’m not sure yet what to do with myself.

Anyway, this may possibly be my last day posting for a little while because on Wednesday I have to go in for a colonoscopy, one of the most enjoyable things I like to do (super major /sarc.). Tomorrow I have to endure the cleaning out process, drinking 8 oz of fluid every hour, fast until after the procedure, then before I go to bed drink 15 oz of that wonderful magnesium citrate drink, followed by another 15 oz at 5 a.m. on Wed. morning. After which I get put under. It’s a real shitty procedure (pun intended). After the colonoscopy, I will squeak when I walk, I’ll be so clean.

Oh, yeah, for the past 4 days I had to go on a low fiber diet, which has made me uncomfortable. After all, we can’t have fiber leftovers lodged inside me.

Usually, people my age don’t have this done, but in my lifetime 3 prior colonoscopies, I’ve had polyps removed. You know, plop, plop, polyp.

Going into this detailed description of an unpleasant situation helps me cope.

BTW, I’ll pay anyone $100 if they go in my place and say I’m me.

    • JohnAZ October 23, 2023 at 7:21 pm #

As a multiple survivor of the same procedure, you have my sympathy. Luckily, today, they do not put you under as deeply as in the past and so less bad vibes post op.

      • beantownbill. October 23, 2023 at 8:59 pm #

        Thanks, JAZ.

I never got bad vibes afterwards, so I hope they do make me lightly unconscious. I do remember many years ago I got a sigmoidoscopy. I didn’t get to take anything and I was fully conscious. It hurt like hell – maybe about the most painful I ever felt. I forgot about the sigmoidoscopy until just now.

I think the worst pain I ever had was after I had my gall bladder removed. They had to put a drainage tube in while I was healing. When they yanked it out, it brushed against my liver. It only hurt for an instant but that pain was so bad and so intense, I didn’t believe I could ever experience that much. I had had a gall bladder attack, which was why I went into the hospital. The pain wasn’t too bad, but I felt pretty sick. The doctor said my gall bladder was ‘chock-a- block’. He didn’t understand how I lasted so long with that kind of pain.

My wife told him that I had a high tolerance for pain, thus setting herself up for a great comeback. I replied that I was married to her for so many years, no wonder why my pain tolerance grew enormously. Lol.

I’ve been talking about my medical issues so much, but actually I’ve been pretty healthy most of my life. I hope that continues after my colonoscopy. They say youth is wasted on the young, while I say old age is not for the faint of heart.

    • OG October 23, 2023 at 7:25 pm #

Much sympathy. I’ve managed to avoid doctors and hospitals for most of my life, but sooner or later you get old and there’s stuff wrong with you. I’m still awaiting the third go-round of cataract surgery, where they put in a lens (so I can see), which has been put off due to inflammation. But in a few weeks I guess I’ll have to go in and endure having my iris dilated so they can stick something the size of a hubcap in there–which is what it will feel like for awhile.

      • beantownbill. October 24, 2023 at 1:13 pm #

It may make you a little uncomfortable (not painful), but wait until you can see better – it should make the experience worthwhile.

My vision was so bad that even cataract surgery and an implanted contact lens couldn’t get the vision in my left eye back to normal. I have keratoconus in that eye which gives me extreme astigmatism that exceeds the strongest corrective lens now available. Still, I can see pretty ok. My other eye is now 20/20, which is great.

        • Anthea October 26, 2023 at 12:08 am #

I guess that makes both of us one-eyed people. My other eye is 20/20. I’ve been one-eyed for quite awhile, for all practical purposes, and thus I have avoided city driving. I’m fine on rural and familiar roads.

On a recent trip to Sprouts, I managed to knock over sever displays with the electric shopping cart. It got to where they assigned me a spotter. They were surprisingly kind about this.

Most of the trouble is that Sprouts has very narrow, cluttered aisles, with barrels and stacks of cute little crates stacked up for displays that stick out into the aisle–and they are on both sides at both ends of literally every aisle. Those electric shopping carts don’t have a turning radius that is adequate for this kind of situation, and they make rather sudden stops and starts.

The thing is, with only one good idea, a person has no depth perception.

The last time I was at Sprouts (after an eye appointment), my daughter came with me, partly to be my spotter.

“Consequence was exiled on Main Street so you can get away with anything now — until you discover that, somehow, everything is broken. Your livelihood is broken. Your community is broken. Your household is broken. Your car is broken. Your children are broken. Your health is broken. Your faith is broken. Your country is broken.

This is surely a very unhealthy way to view our society. It is NOT as bad as you’re wishing it to be, or imagining it to be. But I guess this is a conclusion which is inevitable if you also believe this:

“Everybody knows that a ghoul was installed in the now-haunted White House. And everybody knows that the method of his installation was a fraud, a gigantic falsehood.

When are you Team Crazies going to to finally let reality sink in? If you really believe this, then you wouldn’t bother voting ever again, would you? Yet, the Team Crazies are all pretty sure Trump is coming back in Nov 2024? It’s also quite bizarrely amusing just how all-powerful Biden is on one hand, while he’s a blithering idiot on the other. Cognitive dissonance much?

Nobody with a brain thinks Biden is in charge of anything, he’s just an actor that either is an idiot or is playing one. JHK says stuff like this all the time when he refers to “Joe Biden” in quotes.

As far as never voting again, many of us crazies are getting there but it’s a tough pill to swallow, because after the ballot box stops working you’re down to the bullet box, and nobody wants that.

If children being told from toddlerhood that they might be in the “wrong body”, for which they need drugs and mutilating surgery, is healthy, OK.

If entire high school classes graduating without being able to read, write, or do arithmetic, is healthy, OK.

If Congress passing laws written by lobbyists, that they haven’t read, to further enrich the 1%, is healthy, OK.

If the criminal justice system being used to prosecute political opponents, but not criminals, is healthy, OK.

If fomenting wars in other countries, and spending billions to keep them going, while refusing to spend money to improve your own country, is healthy, OK.

If people in office use their office to sell political favors for their personal enrichment is healthy, OK.

If corporations and the government conspire to force people to take experimental drugs without their consent is healthy, OK>

The LAST thing Trump et al (which includes you, personally) will do is to stand up for law and morality – simply look at the guy’s track record of lying, cheating, adultery, theft, swindling, and chiseling – res ipsa loquitur.

Mostly everyone here seems reasonably intelligent, so there’s a real conundrum as to why you all believe such bullshit with such enthusiasm. Don’t you find it exhausting?

OG – yes, I saw that crazy woman on TV going on about the Space Force knowing “everything” and the “watermarks on ballots”.

Are you aware that Night Owl Himself asserted the same thing re: watermarks in that frenzied time from 8 November to Christmas, 2020? He was also rabbitting on about some fire-fight in a CIA facility in Germany or some such, plus the Italian satellites and Spanish servers…none of which had even the slightest hint of evidence. Not that that would worry Night Owl.

    • OG October 23, 2023 at 8:21 pm #

But it truly is both, Mike. “Joe Biden” is all-powerful because he fronts a cabal that is all-powerful while the actor playing him often acts the blithering idiot. That hardly makes us crazy!

      ***
And, I’ll do you one better. We needn’t wait for November 2024. President Trump recently promised that he would “take our country back” from “Joe Biden” in “less than five months.”

Many suspect that, for historical reasons, President Trump will be inaugurated on March 4, 2024.

The first inauguration of George Washington took place on April 30, 1789. All subsequent public inaugurations from 1793 until 1933 were held on March 4, except in 1821, 1849, 1877, and 1917, when March 4 fell on a Sunday and the public inauguration ceremony took place on Monday, March 5. Since 1937, it has taken place at noon EST on January 20, the first day of the new term, except in 1957, 1985, and 2013, when January 20 fell on a Sunday. In those years, the presidential oath of office was administered on that day privately and then again in a public ceremony the next day, on Monday, January 21. The most recent presidential inauguration was held on January 20, 2021, when Joe Biden assumed office.

      • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 9:00 pm #

Firstly, your initial ‘thought’ is dripping with idiocy, OG – it’s a placatory contradiction you find convenient to accommodate your cognitive dissonance.

Secondly – Trump will be inaugurated on 4 March 2024? I note the useful “Many suspect…” as being a non-fact-based assertion that allows you to go off with some historical facts that are not in the least bit relevant to the case.

Please, explain to us all in detail just how failed ex-president Trump will be able to pull this off “in five months”? Will he be seeking some suspension of whichever court case he’s balls-deep in at the time, so he can show up in Justice Robert’s office for a quiet swearing-in? You MUST know that you’re fucking delusional, right?

        • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 9:04 pm #

Nice of you to have left on the final sentence though:

“The most recent presidential inauguration was held on January 20, 2021, when Joe Biden assumed office.” There ya go – the truth.

        • OG October 23, 2023 at 9:15 pm #

President Trump recently made the “less than five months” promise, not me.

The March 4 date is Q speculation that matches both history and his timeline.

I can’t explain, in detail, how President Trump will “take our country back” from “Joe Biden” “in less than five months” because I am not privy to the plans.

Some general concepts to watch for, however:

          Brunson Brothers & SCOTUS
          EBS
          10 days of darkness

          ***
Perhaps I’m delusional or perhaps you’re clueless. In fact, perhaps both. Time will tell.

          • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 9:20 pm #

            Words to go wrong by:

            “Trump”…”promise”…”Q”.

There you go. You’ve almost admitted it’s all bullshit, but won’t read between your own lines, OG.

You can come back to me on March 5, 2024, and admit your clueless delusionality.

          • OG October 23, 2023 at 9:42 pm #

Just because I’ve omitted dozens or hundreds of hours of research (Juan O Savin, SG Anon, Derek Johnson, Michael Jaco, et al) is hardly an admission to anything at all, Mike.

And absolutely! If “Joe Biden” is still POTUS on March 5, I will humbly admit that I was wrong. [I despise pride. It’s such a stupid sin. There’s no upside to pride.]

          • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 10:09 pm #

“…hundreds of hours of research (Juan O Savin, SG Anon, Derek Johnson, Michael Jaco, et al)

Research is all to the good, IF you have truthful data sets from which to extract the facts. Do these blokes have such truthful data sets? How would they know anyway? How would you know anyway?

From what I can see (in the briefest of searches) these esteemed names are all also QAnon adherents. That tells me all I need to know.

          • OG October 23, 2023 at 11:30 pm #

You would think that nobody’s really that stupid, but, as we have learned over the past few years: surprise! They really are! They do exist. I have personally known people who are that stupid, so I can testify to that.

These guys will keep watching TV till the circuits are fried and die banging on the TV, trying to get it to work again.

Mike Sherman sees no indication that the US is suffering from severe social and economic problems, or problems with education or health care. I suppose he is not disturbed the homeless and drug-addicted in our cities, or the rampant crime. Not to mention the street-shitting. Some people would be bothered by 96,700 drug overdose deaths per year or staggeringly high death and disability rates among our working-age population, or by declining US life-expectancy. Inflation–and the likelihood of increasing inflation rates–bothers some people, but not Mike.

Some people are just oblivious, I guess–having little or no awareness of the world they live in.

I have a friend like that. I think his main problem is that he doesn’t know anything about anything–and probably couldn’t understand economics if he tried. He does enjoy watching “I Love Lucy” re-runs.

I would ask you to explain why it’s okay for the US to be $33 trillion in debt, but you probably are not even aware of that.

    • Layla October 23, 2023 at 9:01 pm #

What is a healthy way to view our society?

      • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 9:11 pm #

That is a good question, Layla.

There seems these days to be such an extreme option that a critical observer has to wonder at the sanity of those who see death, disaster, and destruction everywhere.

These people are now seeing ‘demons’ as well (Roger Stone’s ‘demonic portal over the White House’ is as dog-whistley as anything I’ve ever heard of, but Ol’ Roger knows what he’s doing…). Even JHK has been on this Hallowe’en-adjacent melodrama for a few weeks now. It’s all quite sad.

The alternative is the realistic option – knowing things are not (and have never been) perfect, but getting on with a life worth living. To spend all one’s time obsessing about how other people view the world, and getting ANGRY about it, is utterly pointless and futile.

        • OG October 23, 2023 at 9:19 pm #

Do you think that demons do not exist?

          • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 9:22 pm #

*sigh* don’t even bother, OG. I was raised a Catholic (in the Irish tradition) so I know any ACTUAL demons are usually priests.

          • OG October 23, 2023 at 9:31 pm #

There are more dimensions than three, Mike. All will be revealed.

Demons do exist. I know this for a fact. Honest to God.

        • Layla October 23, 2023 at 9:24 pm #

Perhaps you’ve missed a key concern. Mr. Kunstler provides details of how other people not only view the world but how those views translate into actions that impact society at large. There are also generous portions of death, disaster, and destruction in the world. Is it not critical to assess all aspects of reality when forming an opinion about the world and its workings?

          • Mike Sherman October 23, 2023 at 9:34 pm #

            Hi Layla

I’ve been reading Kunstler since around 2006. He used to have a sensible, logical approach to issues and potential solutions. Since his inversion/diversion/conversion following the Trump election in 2016, he’s most certainly changed his perspective – or at least the perspective he displays here…(red meat for the base?) – to the point where he reads as clearly as OG – which isn’t saying much.

          • Layla October 23, 2023 at 9:50 pm #

Thank you for taking time to provide some background and context to the discussion. I am unfamiliar with OG, but I must say that I enjoy Mr. Kunstler’s writing style and expression as displayed here. I find his writing to be crisp, precise and entertaining.

            Layla

I agree with you re: JHK’s writing style – it is punchy and concise. However, the way the core subject matter has evolved over recent years is alarming to me.

I believe I can even recall when it first turned septic. He had delivered a lecture at a university. The later dinner hosted by the department (English?) was peppered with honest and forthright opinions. JHK apparently made a remark about the fact (indisputable in my opinion) that Blacks do better in education if they drop the ebonics. This was reported to a third party who decided to be outraged for everyone she felt JHK had insulted. What a stupid bint. However, it blew up on Twitter and JHK suffered measurable fallout. Not surprisingly, he also felt more than a little aggrieved and suffered a drop in income thereafter. Since then, he has been expressing an inner rag & frustration. It’s this sense of frustration that, in my opinion, has led him down the MAGA path.

            Hi Mike

Thank you for sharing these additional details to clarify your reasoning and assessment. In your view, this MAGA path as you refer to it is a particularly distasteful outcome and you surmise that Mr. Kunstler was initiated onto this path by certain unfortunate encounters with colleagues and subsequent consequences. This development has an inherent logic, of course.

However, to play the devil’s advocate I would be remiss if I didn’t ask whether or not you think it possible that Mr. Kunstler was led down the MAGA path not by grievance but rather realization? Realizations, experiences that are not understood by yourself or his colleagues. Can you rule out the possibility that his current viewpoints have been reached via balanced contemplation and internal deliberations?

          • Layla October 24, 2023 at 3:02 am #

Thank you for the warm welcome, OG.

I’m enjoying these tunes, particularly the one you’ve attributed to me. Pardon me for the splash. I intended for my entrance onto the scene to be rather unremarkable.

        • Anthea October 24, 2023 at 10:31 am #

          @ Mike Sherman:

Meh. Some people are bothered by suffering and injustice; some people aren’t. Your approach appears to be denial: Everything’s fine.

As with most problems, the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem.

Most people here are merely aware that we have a problem; some here have definite ideas about solutions. Maybe there’s even some sense to some of these ideas, or maybe not.

My thinking is that the solutions are not political–that there’s no use in proposing essentially politcal solutions, which come from the barrel of a gun, if you aren’t sufficiently well armed to carry them out. I think that we’ve reached the stage where the only practical solution is for you and yours–your friends and relatives and community–to be “the remanant,” and to keep civilization and faith alive in a world gone mad; to live, insofar as possible, untouched by the insanity around you.

I think that you, personally, would be well advised to look for solutions, which you can suit yourself about, as far as I’m concerned. But first you have to admit we have a problem.

What is a healthy way to view our society?” ~ Layla

I can’t argue with that. Healthy individuals make a healthy society. If an individual is unhealthy, society is less healthy as a result. A complicated web of relationships is naturally fragile and change can be deleterious if not in small doses, or steps.

It is not my attitude, but something of a truism. I will further suggest that the work of K Bundy is far more important, far more meaningful, than anything Emma Goldman ever uttered.

Your ‘place’ from, say, a ‘sociopolitical microcosmic-macrocosmic’ take/metaphor seems to be where you’re somehow hamstrung as part of your modus operandi before you enter some sort of sporting match.

In your case, I’m somehow reminded of the expression, ‘You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink.’.

          Zaz,

Chaos Theory, Initial Conditions & Parties of Chaos

Well that’s just something I was reminded of and maybe applies more elsewhere. So fair enough.

But what part of equity, mutual trust and mutual consent do you not understand?

What part of a respectful relationship from the start/ground up rather than an abusive one do you not understand?

What part of building a solid foundation and framework from the start/ground up do you not understand?

            Anarchism/anarchy is just common sense.

I can also argue it from a chaos-theory angle too:

Take the two above ‘seeds’– essentially a good and bad relationship– and run them over time. Which one will most likely take turns for the worse?

            —-

I drop in here from time-to-time. Failing neurological disorders and whatnot, we learn until our last days:

“Anarchists don’t ‘get into power’. That’s the point.

            In fact, it’s quite simple:

            It is a society organized (however it wants) around;

            • Equity
            • Mutual Trust
            • Mutual Consent

            That’s pretty much it.

That’s what forms the basis of any decent, lasting, fulfilling relationship in general.

There’s no need to over-analyze anarchy.

            On the other hand, if your idea of a relationship is;

            • Inequity
            • Mutual Distrust
            • Mutual Non-Consent

Then anarchy is most likely not for you.”

            ——

“In chaos theory, the butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state.

The term is closely associated with the work of mathematician and meteorologist Edward Norton Lorenz. He noted that the butterfly effect is derived from the metaphorical example of the details of a tornado (the exact time of formation, the exact path taken) being influenced by minor perturbations such as a distant butterfly flapping its wings several weeks earlier… He discovered the effect when he observed runs of his weather model with initial condition data that were rounded in a seemingly inconsequential manner. He noted that the weather model would fail to reproduce the results of runs with the unrounded initial condition data. A very small change in initial conditions had created a significantly different outcome.

The butterfly effect concept has since been used outside the context of weather science as a broad term for any situation where a small change is supposed to be the cause of larger consequences.” ~ Wikipedia

elysianfield, perhaps you missed my talk with Jarek about it a few months ago. I might have mentioned it a few times since then, but here goes again:

We grew up in relative anarchy, in bands and tribes for most of our existence. Sure not every band/tribe/village was as enlightened as the next.

Anarchy is our natural wiring. The State governments as we know them are a blink of an eye by comparison.

Shall we talk about Haiti or Somali now or shall I ‘dodge’ that question for the time being?

Or would you rather stick with the tribal/band thing for now?

Anything else? Want to name-drop another author?

No, that is THE issue,” ~ elysianfield

Not really, despite your insistence and despite my mentioning relative tribal/band/village/small scale anarchy.

Seems, rather, more like you’re trying to dodge your logical fallacy.

If the issue is to go to Mars for example, obviously it has not been done yet. So the issue is how to actually start it and do it where it has the greatest likelihood for success.

Ditto with anarchic ethics as I already mention, and getting to some better, if not entirely anarchic, point in our history.

            That’s the issue.

That people are bad is obvious, but that’s no reason not to try. Mars is bad too. Not much in the way or warmth or an atmosphere and very far away.

Zazelle – No you don’t choose Government. It is imposed on you and from a very early age.

      Disagree.

Sure, most everything we know is instilled in us from an early age. But humans always seek leaders within their groups, whether it be the aboriginal chief or the church book club organizer.

Every business meeting has a point person and a boss overseeing.

      Every McDonald’s has a manager.

Every TV show has a producer, a writer and a director.

Otherwise nothing would get done, due to the basic nature of humanity.

Every organization, from the local VFW with seven members to a city of 8 million, craves at the very least a simple power structure, and instinctively installs one to create order.

You seem to be implying that anarchy is “natural”, but it is not…well, not for humans in a social setting, at least.

Either way, you seem to have chosen an interesting hill to perch upon, given it will never come to fruition as long as people are involved.

I view anarchy the same as I do a hippie commune who’s claiming to “live different, man.” Sure, you might. For a while. But you’ll still elect a leader. And everyone will move away within a few years and go back to structure that makes sense. Maybe even get a job at Chipotle.

        Mango’s Happy Little Mandated Life

“Anarchism [anarchy] is participatory… it’s based on the assumption that any authoritarian or any structure of authority and domination has to justify itself– none of them are self-justifying– whether they’re in individual relations, or international affairs or the workplace or whatever… They have a burden of proof to bear, and if they can’t bear that burden– which they usually can’t– they’re illegitimate and should be dismantled and replaced by alternative structures which are free and participatory and are not based on authoritarian systems…” ~ Noam Chomsky

MrMangoOnMyShoulder, there is consensual authority, like being a parent or pilot of a plane and maybe some of your examples, and then there’s ‘pseudoauthority’, served up with the threat of violence and/or imprisonment and/or fines (same ideas).

Remove your real or hypothetical kids from a government-mandated curriculum and see if a social worker doesn’t show up at your door.

          Zaz,

Put aside quotes from that repository of knowledge, Wikipedia, and peruse some literature on what intelligent fiction writers and movie directors have to say about anarchism based on how humans actually behave across time and different cultures and religions.

          Thomas More’s Utopia.

          Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The Blithedale Romance.

          Dostoyevsky’s The Possessed.

          Louis Malle’s May Fools.

          Laurel & Hardy’s Utopia.

          Luis Bunuel’s Viridiana.

You sound no different from a Marxist who believes in the ‘perfectibility of Man’. People usually get cured of that by their early twenties.

          • MrMangoOnMyShoulder October 25, 2023 at 5:40 pm #

You sound no different from a Marxist who believes in the ‘perfectibility of Man’. People usually get cured of that by their early twenties.

            Exactly my thoughts, SF.

We are what we are, we crave what we crave, and we automatically put the same systems in place no matter who we are or where we are on this earth.

Assuming humanity is capable of organizing itself into a “free and participatory” system with no top-down leadership structure is pie-in-the-sky Star Trek utopia bullshit.

So we do the best with what we have; sometime it works better than other times, according to, well, history.

            Aren’t we all:

“Ad hominem (Latin for ‘to the person’), short for argumentum ad hominem, is a term that refers to several types of arguments, most of which are fallacious. Typically this term refers to a rhetorical strategy where the speaker attacks the character, motive, or some other attribute of the person making an argument rather than attacking the substance of the argument itself. This avoids genuine debate by creating a diversion to some irrelevant but often highly charged issue. The most common form of this fallacy is ‘A makes a claim x, B asserts that A holds a property that is unwelcome, and hence B concludes that argument x is wrong’.” ~ Wikipedia

Kent Monkman’s The Scream: Images That Define Atrocities

“Canadian Cree artist Kent Monkman’s graphic and gut-wrenching painting The Scream (2017) depicts a chaotic scene. Mothers are held back by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Mounties) as they lunge toward their children, who have been snatched from their arms by Catholic priests. That scene encapsulates the anguish of the all-too real history of aggressive assimilation that saw children torn away from their families and taken to residential schools, and where untold other abuses, physical and sexual, took place. The practice was in effect from the 1880s to the 1990s, led by the Catholic Church with the approbation of the Canadian government.”

In the United States in the 1920’s the KKK tried to pass laws in many states that would have made private schools , particularly religious private schools , specifically Catholic schools , illegal.

They ultimately failed , but that process never ends.

A fundamental problem with state – financed education is that everybody will pay for it ,

but there will never be equal say in the management of it.

And it seems to me that it stands to reason that sooner or later people you don’t like , or your avowed enemies , will wind up in charge of it.

    I’m not opposed to Israel.

I just want them to pay for it.

Granted , I suspect that without foreign aid they wouldn’t last 20 years.

I have little doubt they could win any war against the Arabs , but , typically , winning a war isn’t the hard part.

Like I suppose Israel could easily over run Lebanon , Syria , Jordan and Egypt.

But then that would mean that in the south they now border Sudan and Libya. Maybe a case of the folks you used to border were incrementally better than the people you now border.

In the north , Israel would now border Turkey and Iraq directly.

It’s speculation , but maybe Turkey wouldn’t really like sharing a border with Israel.

As for Iraq , the United States couldn’t pacify Iraq in 20 years.
Maybe bordering the wild wild East wouldn’t be so wonderful.

Then of course there is the logistical and demographic nightmare of occupying all this territory.

Modern man seems highly resistent to the notion that imperialism doesn’t pay anymore ,

    that occupations are prohibitively expensive.

Never the less , they ARE prohibitively expensive.

      @ KesaAnna:

I agree. I have no opinion about Israel’s existence. Neither do I see any reason why the US should be ensuring their existence with aid to the tune of billions a year. Clearly, using US resources securing some other country is against US interests. People who advocate acting against US interests on behalf of another nation are, obviously, people whose loyalties are not to the US, but to that other nation.

I’d say that anyone in the US whose primary loyalty is to another nation, and who advocates policies that are against the interests of the US, in favor of that other nation, are acting in a way that should not be tolerated.

          Isn’t OG Canadian ?

I would hope he wouldn’t put U.S. interests before Canadian interests.

          As for myself , let’s clear up any confusion on that matter ;

I’m an enemy of the United States , and I always have been.

But then , what sort of advice do I — try to — give my enemies ?

          — Keep your money . Don’t give your money to others , like to me , for example. Always assume that if it isn’t strictly a voluntary contribution , then it isn’t strictly licit.

          — Trust yourself before you trust others , and trust others before you trust the folks who are heavily armed with your money.

That’s okay, OG. China is going to own the western part soon anyway. Maybe Canada will be a battle site between WEF(east) and BRICS++(west).

          @elysianfield:

I don’t see any value of Israel for US “force projection in the oil-rich Middle East.”

The US has military bases in the Middle East. How exactly does Israel “project force” on behalf of the US? How has it been beneficial to the US?

I willing to be convinced that Israel serves some purpose for us. I’d just like to know what it is–along with a cost/benefit analysis (if indeed any such benefit exists).

Frankly, it seems to me that Israel’s presence in that part of the world has served only to create a lot of completely unnecessary violence, hostility, and chaos. For starters, a large portion of the Arab world would not now be squaring off against the US over the Gaza situation.

If the various nations and factions among the Arab world would like to have wars with each other, that’s their business. The chief effect of Israel’s existence seems to me to be to suck the US into the fray, completely unnecessarily.

          • elysianfield October 26, 2023 at 8:49 pm #

“The US has military bases in the Middle East. How exactly does Israel “project force” on behalf of the US? How has it been beneficial to the US?”

            Anthea,
Exactly! However, in the early 1950’s and 60’s, we didn’t have other assets…so Israel became a proxy.

Now, as you describe, there is little value in our support…a negative.

      • elysianfield October 24, 2023 at 11:11 am #

“Neither do I see any reason why the US should be ensuring their existence with aid to the tune of billions a year. Clearly, using US resources securing some other country is against US interests”

        Anthea,
Initially, Israel was used as a force-projection of US interests in the oil-rich Middle East. Cannon fodder. Good Israeli boys dying instead of good American boys…

Israel’s and US’s interests are becoming less aligned…as the US loses influence in the Middle East, only politics at home will keep Israel ‘s interests maintained. They have otherwise lost much of their influence strategically.

“I have little doubt they could win any war against the Arabs , but , typically , winning a war isn’t the hard part. ”

I’m not so sure about that—unless nukes come into it.

If Israel didn’t have nukes, they would have IMO been gone.

I won’t say “long ago,” because I think their neighbors have upgraded their weaponry fairly recently.

However, the Zionists are fanatical enough to push the red button and take everyone else with them.

Except—kind of like the game Fortunately, Unfortunately–we can’t be sure of the defense systems and the speed of nuclear blowback.

The rules of engagement in the ME are a moving target at this point.

Or, Nightie, it could be that the claims were just utter bullshit and the court couldn’t entertain the arguments because there was no evidence to justify a court case. Jeez – even Powell herself said “reasonable people” wouldn’t believe her election fraud claims:

” acting in a way that should not be tolerated. ”

Whatever once may have been true , it is no longer true that somebody forces you at gun point to go to church , or forces you at gun point to put money in the collection plate.

In contrast , near as I can tell , the IRS and the FBI and CIA don’t ask your permission for a god damned thing.

But apparently according to most here it is the former , not the latter , I should worry about.

It looks to me like the old blame the powerless , not the fantastically powerful.

100 years after the inauguration of Prohibition , while there may be no evidence that we were better off in 1919 ,

there certainly is not a shred of evidence that we are better off than in 1919.

In short , I wouldn’t trust any Western politician to judge soberly and morally what is tolerable ,

any more than I would trust Kim Jung Un to judge it.

And for that matter , no one on CFN I would trust that much either.

The Silver lining may ultimately be that if you don’t go broke fighting everyone , you may go broke locking everyone up.

    Acceptable answer I think . 🙂

  67. JohnAZ October 24, 2023 at 2:40 am #

    Okay, Islander, here goes.

On 23 Sept.1947, ad hoc committee was formed by the general assembly to study the Partition Proposal. Comprised of three parts, Britain, Arabs and the Jewish Agency. The Arabs rejected most of the Partition plan, the Jews accepted most of it and Britain, sitting the fence(my words) “did not feel able to implement the Plan” unless both sides agreed to it.

On October 23. 1947 Ad hoc subcommittee was formed to draw up a plan based on Arab proposals. The result was put to the International Court of Justice and blessed.

This resolution was passed by the General Assembly on 27 November 1947. 33-13 with 10 abstentions, making the 2/3 requirement. Significant votes were, USA yes, Soviet Union yes. China abstain, Britain abstain. Interestingly, Ukraine voted for.

The UN blessed resolution was probably celebrated in Jewish Palestine and put down violently by the Arabs in Palestine and from Arab countries surrounding Israel. So the Brits terminated their mandate on May 14, 1948.

BenGurion read the Israeli Declaration of Independence on May 14. The Jewish nation now proceeded to kick the crap out of all the surrounding Arab states and the Arabs in Israel to enforce the Jewish half of the resolution. The US recognized Israel immediately as the result of pressure on Truman and the Democratic Party by Pro-Zionist forces here. The Soviets recognized Israel on the 17th.

Resolution has been returned since to the International Court of Justice in support of Arab rights and its legality confirmed. In 2011, Abbas stated that the Arab rejection of the tenets of 181 was a mistake and he was going to try to remedy it.

Think, if the Arabs had followed through with the Resolution instead of trying to drive Israel into the sea, their lot today would be very different.

They will never defeat Israel, no matter how many folks get involved. Iran for example is a two hit nation, one on Teheran and one on Bandar Abbas. End of discussion. Iran’s day in the saddle is about over when its proxies get their lunch handed to them by Israel.

    • JohnAZ October 24, 2023 at 2:44 am #

Notice that the Israelis seem to have followed the USA lead.

Declare your independence then fight your war to enforce its tenets.

BTW, Arab rights were include in the Declaration.

Also, the Arabs drafted their own Declaration of Independence. Will it be fulfilled, the two nation solution? Not as long as Iran is around to muddy the situation.

      • Night Owl October 24, 2023 at 3:37 am #

The core of the issue is land theft, John.

It will never be resolved through a two-state solution, because the cardinal sin has never been corrected.

Much as with Covid, you are duped by the dupers and their duping details. The details are there to hide the truth.

        • Anthea October 24, 2023 at 9:57 am #

          @ Night Owl:

Pretty much every nation in the world exists through land theft. Maybe it’s a sin–or maybe not. Trying to interpose ideas and arguments about “right and wrong” and “legal and illegal” just obfuscates the real nature of the dispute: It’s a territorial war between two groups of people who both want the same territory. What is this? The gorillianth? The number of times this has happened on earth must be up to about a gorillion by now.

All the moralizing about what’s “right” and what’s “legal” is intended to make us “like” one team versus the other. If I even knew them–which I don’t–I would probably not “like” either one of them. And if I did kind of like one side a bit more than the other, I’d doubt if I’d be interested in getting a bloody nose over it.

          • Night Owl October 24, 2023 at 10:27 am #

You are not telling me anything new in the first sentence.

The reality is that the conflict is driven by the original sin, which was actually committed by outside forces.

It will end when Isreal no receives globocap backing or when the nations by which it is surrounded simply destroy it.

There is no other path forward. It is another Ukraine.

          • Anthea October 24, 2023 at 11:41 am #

            @ Night Owl:

I suspect the day will soon dawn when Israel receives no globocap backing. The West is bankrupt. Ergo, over the long term (ten years or so), Israel is toast.

          • OG October 24, 2023 at 12:19 pm #

Spuds, why did you demand that we not talk of the Israel/Palastine conflict while you do?

          • Jarek October 24, 2023 at 1:18 pm #

Night Owl may be right in this. Some of them have publicly expressed their deep displeasure with Israel for holding back World Government. The Israeli Elite may well accept the Judgement of their Superiors on the Pyramid – many of whom are Jews of course. But at that level, it doesn’t seem to matter any more, the Protocols notwithstanding.

When asked about Israel’s long terms prospects, Nixon shook his head and gave a thumb’s down.

The Protocols weren’t wrong – but rather a partial glimpse from a high tier but not the Capstone.

If you would know, you must rise up in our own Pyramid and visit your own “capstone” or Eye.

        • JohnAZ October 24, 2023 at 11:35 am #

          Let’s see. NO.

The original tribes of Canaan were deposed by the Philistines et al.

The Philistines et al were deposed by the Hebrews after long warfare by orders of God to Moses.

The Hebrews were deposed first by Assyria, then Babylon, then Persia, who finally let them return to Judea.

Then Alexander took the area for the Macedonian empire.

Then the Romans deposed the Ptolemy control from Egypt.

Then the Romans gave it to Herod then took it away from him under Tiberius.

Then the Romans crushed the zealots in 70 AD, sacked the Temple gold to finance the building of the Colosseum, a fact from a Rome tour. The Diaspora took place planting Christians and Jews throughout the Empire.

Note that from the Persian return, the Jews occupied the area known today as Israel. They were there for 5 thousand years with the exception of the Babylonian exile. Even Persia recognized their right to Canaan and allowed them to return and assisted them to rebuild the Temple.

After the Romans left, the area became a mixture of folks. Arabs, Jews, Christians, ex-Romans, Egyptians. Then the Europeans got their act together and decided to take the Holy Land for Christianity. For a while, it did.

Saladin entered the fray and provided the necessary leadership to throw the Europeans out. Next thing you know, Islam is knocking at the door of France. In the meantime, Palestine became primarily Muslim for hundreds of years. Consolidation begat the Ottoman Empire.

Then those darned Europeans discovered oil in the surrounding lands. Then those darned Europeans fought WW1, and the Ottoman Empire went away. Then those darned Brits came in in 1917 and made a mandate to control Palestine. They dropped the idea of a two state Israel with their darned Balfour which is still with us.

The Jews took control of their portion of the Partition resolution passed by the UN in 1947. Israel was under Jewish control after May 1948.

Okay, after all that, who exactly had their land stolen away? And who should get it today in a perfect world?

No worry though, the Jews have been promised that land by God since Abram and Moses and will kick the shit out of anyone trying to take it back today. I am actually shocked that Israel has not told the anti-Semitic world to kiss their butts and taken away the remainder of “Old Israel”.

They have the means to make an ash tray out of Arab Middle East and those Arabs know it along with the major powers. That is why all the wars are proxy for the majors.

AND as far as Covid, I do not pay any attention to someone who thinks that viruses do not exist and are a threat to humanity. Are you sure who the dupee is?

I have edited the post down to the relevant part for you, John.

As I said above, you get sucked in by word wizardy and details that have little to do with the actual issue.

One side had their land partitioned and they watched settlers slowly take more and more of it.

And this act was enabled by foreign entities with money and guns.

You think there is a solution that doesn’t end in death and destuction?

            I don’t.

    • Anthea October 24, 2023 at 9:41 am #

      @ KesaAnna:

Israel in in a little bit of a pickle. Its continued existence depends entirely on US support, to the tune of billions of dollars a year–as well as on US military might. The latter is shot to hell, and the dollar is well on the way to being shot to hell.

If for some reason I were inclined to side with Israel, in their land dispute with the previous occupants of the region, I would hope that they have been thinking ahead–figuring out where they are going to go, when Israel no longer exists. Which probably is not all that far in the future; maybe about ten years. Besides the US, there is no other Western nation that has either the money or the military power to prop them up indefinitely, nor do I think there’s any non-Western nation that has the slightest desire to do so.

Israel is staring down the barrel of another diaspora, which is inevitable with the collapse of the US as a world power. Maybe there is something to all that talk you hear about them wanting to establish themselves in now-depopulated Ukraine, AKA “Khazaria.” I can’t see that location being a particularly happy–or successful–choice, either. Who’s going to indefinitely support and defend them there?

      • Jarek October 24, 2023 at 1:32 pm #

        Yes Khazaria and Patagonia.

They should have taken Madagascar. The would have make short work of the Malagasy, but they are an isolated people, part Black and part Malayan, really unique unto themselves. Not really part of Africa despite its proximity. The world would have never known or cared to know.

Perhaps they could have given them reservations in desert areas or something. Like what we did anent the Indians.

Khazaria? The ridiculous “Nazis” there might finally come to their senses and oppose them.

” I guess if you think that stepping over bodies of the homeless on the streets is healthy, OK. ”

Depends on what the alternative is. I have noticed that yesterdays mental hospitals are todays haunted houses . A coincidence ? I think not . Unless it is helping millionaires and billionaires, ” help ” often takes the form of the sadistically punitive.

I’m guessing , but my guess is many homeless people would rather be homeless than recieve that kind of help.

” If children shooting each other on city streets is healthy, OK. ”

Long story , but I think gun violence in America is grossly exaggerated. Ever heard of fear porn ?

” If children being told from toddlerhood that they might be in the “wrong body”, for which they need drugs and mutilating surgery, is healthy, OK. ”

It is my certain conviction that all of that started with the premise that the state should run families , not families should run families.

Once that premise was adopted , it was only a question of time before the state would begin meddling in your family in ways you won’t like. Not a question of “if ” or “whether ” , but only a question of when.

” If entire high school classes graduating without being able to read, write, or do arithmetic, is healthy, OK. ”

See immediately above. It comes as a surprise that it turns out that politicians, or your plain enemies , don’t give a shit about your kids ?

” If the criminal justice system being used to prosecute political opponents, but not criminals, is healthy, OK. ”

The way I hear it , 21% of the incarcerated population world – wide belongs to one country.

And the country isn’t North Korea.

As I said just recently , if the United States doesn’t go broke fighting everyone , it may go broke anyway locking everyone up.

I suppose Jarek should shut up about you being a Communist. I would think that a Communist would know better than most that the difference between political prisoner and criminal is a matter of a definition that is easily enough re – written.

Of course you could pretty much say that as well about any CFN regular ; If you don’t suspect that you are on an FBI shit list , then what the fuck are you worried about / complaining about ?

” If corporations and the government conspire to force people to take experimental drugs without their consent is healthy, OK ”

These days the lions share of people I hang out with are retirees , so hardly a representative example.

But certainly in that group most of the vaxes were clearly voluntary.

And in a group that , generally , was more affluent and better educated.

Maybe Enlightenment psychology turns out to have been full of shit ?

If you say so . ( not argument. Not sarcasm )

” I was referring to our Malthusian friend. Of course he thinks everyone is a monster. ”

Actually that is why I wondered. That is what I think , too.

Doctrine of Original Sin , you know.

    I can’t speak for others , but in my case , ” everybody is a monster ( including me ) ”

means I think I’m not one bit better than you are.

It means I’m not going to come up with all sorts of complicated reasons why I should get all the gravy , and you should get bugs.

It means that as much as I loathe and despise police , I’m not going to pretend that Elysianfield possessing an MG – 34 scares and concerns poor little Kesa.

If Joe Biden can be trusted with nuclear weapons , what is this gun control bullshit ?

that I should get to make the laws , not you ,

that I should get all your money to spend as I see fit ,

    etc , etc , etc .

At the risk of sounding terribly self – flattering , it seems to me that my view that all are monsters is a pretty good deal for you.

On the subject of population control I think you and I agree ?

      All previous attempts at population control ended in one of three ways ;

      — totalitarianism

      — genocide

      — it was the group deemed superior that died out.

I think I would do better to base policy on past track record , rather than on speculative wishful – thinking.

      • gustafson.robert.22 October 24, 2023 at 8:00 am #

I often argue for population control because on a simplistic level it is the most rational and central solution to so many human problems…political, environmental, economic and historical.

Problem with population control as an actual, real-life solution is… it doesn’t account for people being monsters. It assumes a pretty utopian view of human beings’ ability to operate collectively and rationally. So my support for it is not totally fake, but more theoretical and less real.

Without population-control, I don’t see any ultimate outcome to current trajectories that is not chaotic and gruesome (though often, but not always, slow and incremental in human-time). But pressed, I will say gruesome chaos is probably the real, natural and right solution to current human situations, not any population-control program.

Point being, if someone opposes population-control programs, I hope they are in favor of the alternative, gruesome chaos… as I am.

Jesus said if your neighbor takes something of yours, give him your coat also.

The answer to social inequality, share the earth.

However, what happens when there is not enough coats to go around or wealth to support all.

Gruesome chaos? Yep, and lots of technology advancement and War. I guess when God fabricated Man as the supreme predator, the only way to control his population is cannibalism of sorts, AKA war.

          • gustafson.robert.22 October 24, 2023 at 12:34 pm #

Nothing implicitly wrong with predation, but we should start developing our reasoning skills to the level of our predation skills, if it’s not already way too late.

Yes, I would have to agree with that.

Dis talked about getting closer with Hispanics. They’re the winners, at least where he is. A practical choice for a member of a defeated and dying race.

They like to laugh too. Everyone likes a comedian. Comedian or Court Jester? Respect or no Respect? Maybe it depends on how the King feels. Lear loved his fool. So you wouldn’t want to disrespect that fool. In any case, quite a long way from being happy under one’s own fig tree, a little king a la the Bible and Huey Long.

A fool had to be witty, wise, or flattering (typically the first two, in Shakespeare’s plays). He had to be on his toes, otherwise the King 86ed him. Hence, the tears behind the smiling mask.

“This is one of the most important speeches of our time. 30min straight, no notes. That’s because James has dedicated his life to understanding the origins and interworkings of this, and how to convey. The way he describes the blueprint here is masterful.”

I agree. A must-watch speech for those trying to understand the merging of socialism/marxism and corpratism that has brought us the New Normal via Corona and the WEF/UN-backed climate ruse for societal transformation.

Many have trouble understanding what wokeism truly is and why it seems to be merged with corporate power. This segment is really concise and digestible for even the most non-political mind.

    🙂

Whoo-boy, serious “longtime fratboy trying hard to get smart now even though it’s already far too late” vibes.

If you don’t like opposition to your slavery-based (capitalist) system, and don’t like opportunist exploiters of that opposition (cynical globocap),

what you need is either 1) an ever bigger stick to beat the slaves with, or 2) a better alternative to the current slave-system than the opposition has.

James T has neither, which is why he presents as impotent. Globocap at least makes bank..

      • Night Owl October 24, 2023 at 10:24 am #

Admit it, he did an excellent job summing things up for the uninformed.

The gamma-male vibes are strong here.

Are these “uninformed” the other frat boys?

          • Night Owl October 24, 2023 at 3:48 pm #

Just admit it, you didn’t even listen to more than a minute.

The speech was excellent, and it tied together a lot of topics that most people see as seperate issues.

Much as I have said for a few years. The strands are meant to intertwine in the minds of most of the cud-chwers only when the digital-plantation trap springs.

When it is too late. I realize you could care less about keeping humanity out of digital slavery, but not all of us hate people.

          • gustafson.robert.22 October 24, 2023 at 7:37 pm #

I listened to over half the speech.

Also, I have zero desire for digital enslavement of mankind, and actually think your (and those like you) failure to recognize energy, environmental and population-density problems is propelling us directly TOWARD that enslavement.

          • Night Owl October 25, 2023 at 3:02 am #

But I do care about energy issues, Gus.

I said this years ago, but I would put my energy bills and environmental practices up against yours any day.

What I don’t care for is people who make outlandish claims they cannot back, such as the earth being at “carrying capacity”–again, a number you yourself cannot even define–but then run off when asked to provide proof.

And claims like this require a lot of proof. There is also your promotion of population reduction, which is morally repugnant, but hey, we have been there and done that.

            😀

          • gustafson.robert.22 October 25, 2023 at 11:39 am #

The claims, and moral quandries, are only outlandish when you’ve never encountered them before, and refuse to do so now.

          • gustafson.robert.22 October 25, 2023 at 1:54 pm #

            quandaries

        • gustafson.robert.22 October 24, 2023 at 10:46 am #

The problem of course is the ’88-Limbaugh-brand “industrial capitalism is actually a wonderful miracle for everybody” basis for the entire position.

A class (or race) war to seize the means of production was never going to solve anything—because the means and systems of production were themselves the problem all along.

I find it puzzling that you say you listened to over half the presentation, because Lindsay (always on point, always brilliant) specifically mentions in the 1st half that economic Marxism has evolved to fit changing conditions. Because capitalism was so successful, Marxism couldn’t stir up the workers any longer because the latter were so much more well off than they used to be. So leftist leaders had to shift to stirring up the young in universities. The link to Mao is obvious and fitting, in all its ramifications.

Economic Marxism has become cultural Marxism. Anyone with eyes and ears knows this. Chrissakes, just look at the ‘thought leaders’ of the Woke. They all make six figures, so who’s the capitalist mouthpiece? Lindsay and his ilk are constantly sticking their necks out at the risk of job displacement and termination and professional ostracization, while the Woke keep their heads down and continue to cash their checks for condemning the system that allows them power and money. Shameful and despicable. If they had any consistency, any alignment of their stated morals with their way of life, they’d quit their ‘bourgeois’ careers (tenured, perks galore, long holidays, social cachet) and live amongst the supposed victims they pretend to support. But of course it’s all sanctimony.

It always reminds me of the old joke: the last time Marxists were happy was in October 1929 — for perhaps a day or two.

          • gustafson.robert.22 October 25, 2023 at 11:37 am #

“Anyone with eyes and ears knows this.”

Exactly. This speech is the most rudimentary, banal stuff that everyone already knows.

It’s easy and lazy to poke holes in the opposition. What’s a softer target than Marxism?

The reason the left is having any social success is the right is so ideologically bankrupt.

            “Because capitalism was so successful,”

Here we go, more Limbaugh vintage 1988.

This encapsulates the Right’s ideological bankruptcy. Criticizing modern Marxism for ideological bankruptcy is the absolute pot-&-kettle routine.

My comment about “anyone” was meant to be taken facetiously. Apparently there are still about 50% of the population that doesn’t know this. So it needs to be stated, and it needs the context, history, psychological impetus, and overarching who’s-implementing-and-formulating-it explanation that Lindsay so concisely gives.

“It’s easy and lazy to poke holes in the opposition. What’s a softer target than Marxism?” — Gus

“Easy and lazy”? Then why the hell is hardly anyone else doing it? Again, Lindsay sticks his neck out, and he provides historical precedent to this.

Even most of the people who are onboard that the Woke ideology and pedagogy is either silly or wicked don’t realize the pre-emptive argumentation and end-goal of Wokeism. They think it’s just some university petulance that’ll go away when the universities lose economic power. I used to think that, too, but this issue isn’t going away any time soon, in fact will continue to get worse. And how many others
