Yes, the beasts of the field vote for less work and more hay. Of course, what else would they vote for? The question is why are they allowed to vote at all?

The People have the right to be ruled by people better than themselves. To attain this, you can't let them vote since they will only vote for human beasts like themselves.

Remember Boxer in Animal Farm? I feel like there was a time in the US where most Polish, Hunky, Irish immigrants could be trusted to make the right decisions because they broke their fucking backs. That hasn't been true in over 40 years.

Read Down and Out in Paris and London. Orwell was advised not to go too deeply into physical labor. It's very hard to mentally recover from that kind of regimen. Beyond that, being tall and lanky, he admitted that he was at a deep disadvantage as a laborer.

Hitler's devotion to the working man was unique and glorious. But he never thought they could replace the managerial and thinking classes.

I'm not a fan of Orwell. He diagnosed the problem and then ascribed it to the wrong cause. He died a moronic Leftist.

He was slowly getting better. He hated his old comrades, the Russian Communists, towards the end.
