The Jews hated the Romans because the Romans represented multi deism in a society that believed in stoning people for blasphemy. The Romans were secular inside a society that was NOT. More Jews lived outside of Israel at the time than in, with one exception, Passover and other festivals when all the Jews wanted to return to Jerusalem to forgive their sins. The Romans dreaded these festivals as they always led to trouble. One Passover, they even allowed themselves to kill an “insurrectionist” at the behest of the Jewish leadership. That act changed the world.
Jewish ethnocentrism has been the bane of their existence since the Hebrew people were invented by God. God has always wanted them to carry His message to the world, that is why He planted them right in the middle of the world. Instead, ethnocentrism has blocked the missionary effect from the Jews. God tried to open things up through the Jewish nation but their leadership tried to kill that attempt. Thank God that Their attempts to squelch Jesus’ message have met with failure.
