I've heard that insurance companies have already stated that they won't cover riot-related damages.

It's written as an exclusion in the standard home insurance policy (US). Excluded from property coverage includes: War, invasion, insurrection, rebellion, revolution, civil war, usurped power, damage caused by civil, governmental or military authority to hinder or defend against an actual or impending enemy act. Exactly - nothing new in that. It is a standard exclusion. Standard, not some premonition of the Civil War 2.0 that you 'conservatives' seem to be jonesing for.
