Thinkin’ away, JohnAZ. Thinking that you’re characteristically wrong on a couple of key points. Trump won by a whopping 1.6 percent, which you’d know if, instead of saying, “Yup,” when he ludicrously describes his victory as a landslide, you actually did some reading. Also, I’m sure the billioinaire class is grateful for your support, and do see your point that entrepreneurship would surely disappear if Jeff Bezos could afford only one $500 million yacht rather than three in different colors.
How about the fact that the American middle class, which I’m going to guess includes you, as well as me, never had it so good materially as during the Eisenhower years, when the very rich were taxed at up to 91 percent?
What are your three favorite things about oligarchies, JohnAZ?
Do you ever see those studies about the happiest countries on earth, JohnAZ? Do you happen to notice that the Scandinavian socialist democracies are ALWAYS at the top of the list? The rate of taxation is high, and the quality of their social services extraordinary. But you seem to be one of those who thinks that the un- and underinsured should STFU if providing universal healthcare might require Jamie Dimon to own fewer islands.
Leftists like you just do not get it. The country is broke! Spend, spend, spend that is all you understand. Tax the rich so that the government can spend some more, buy more votes, increase the debt and deficit. You just do not care, you do not understand what $36 trillion dollars of governmental debt means. You are Anti-American, like the rest of the Left is. Continuing the ways of the Left, of Biden, Clinton, Jeffries, in their anti-austerity drive is a guarantee of the end of this country.
Tell us something, JM, what motivates you to be a part of the destruction? Do you honestly believe we are better off allowing drugs, illegals, spending, increased taxation, DEI, Woke, “protests”, MIC control, foreign wars, and all forms of government domination to continue as they were during the last 40 years? Do you actually believe that moving the manufacturing economy to Asia was a great idea, as Obama did?
Please defend your attitudes about everything mentioned, do you actually believe the shit being handed out by the Anti-Trumpers? It is very obvious that you just do not understand the Big Picture of the on-coming collapse of the world order and the USA itself. I would hate to see the country follow your lead, right into the shitter.
BTW, how about a primer of what you do believe in, without your obvious TDS? How would you handle the problems that Trump et al faces today? Are you a gimme, that thinks that the government is an infinite source of capital to supply the gimme psyche of the Left? If so, like the government, you are the problem, not the solution.
Now that I have exploded my spleen at you, here goes.
I am self-made, we started in 1968 in the Navy, making less than $200/month. We both retired, financially independent, and worked our butts off for forty years. My wife handled the BS of the legal profession and I was in the Navy, engineering and 17 years of being a night time RN. We worked for everything we got. So yeah, anyone who made their fortunes, deserves their fortunes. Most contribute voluntary fortunes to charity and unfortunately politics. Musk, Bezos et al should do with their fortunes exactly what they want. Your attitudes about smacks of envy and gimme bitterness. Instead of blaming them, maybe you should look within and ask yourself, why am I not one of them? Each started with almost nothing and became wealthy due to supplying something to society that society wanted.
Progressive income tax, I agree with you based on the fact that higher incomes use more public resources and should contribute more. Right now though, the upper 1% pay more taxes than the bottom 50%, that is a fact Leftists do not want to talk about.
I do not believe in oligarchies like you do.
Hahaha, the happiest countries on earth, that is a joke. The most gimme countries that are finding out that being confronted by an onslaught of “hungrier” immigrants that do not like being criminalized by them. Happiest, my foot. Did you ever read Green Alba on the old format? Not so happy with the non-responsive NHS. Universal healthcare is a joke, don’t you realize that all the complaints about our health care today stem from the changes the Dems have made pushing us toward socialized medicine. You know who will be very affected by the USA going socialized? The Canadians that do not want to wait months and years to get healthcare for voluntary care and opt for the responsiveness of the USA system.
And 1.6% represented a few million votes in the popular vote and ALL the important “purple” states, including mine. Your gang is still cleaning up the tears left behind.
