Please don't become too Irrationally Exuberant, Robert. If the D-party dies, which I find highly doubtful, (the R-team has only slim majorities in both Houses), it will be replaced by something similar, maybe even more radical. The country is still 50-50. Too many people are riding in the wheelbarrow and not enough are pulling it.
There is no R team, only the MAGA team. 1/3 of the former GOP are against MAGA and like the Dems are on their heels. We still have Kentucky, Alaska and Maine in the Senate though. They need to be primaried, and soon.
The formation of the next generation of political parties should be interesting. IMHO, many moderate Dems are going to join RFKJ and Tulsi in the MAGA party. Many nutty RINO types are going to join the Ult-Left. Already underway.
Yeah, known as independents. People who do not understand enough about current events to have a credo. They want to vote for the best candidate, without realizing that party affiliation dominates what candidates stand for.
Yeah, that is a concept that many on these threads don't seem to grasp. The Republican majorities are super thin. Trumps wins in the swing states were super thin. Half the Country are still Democrats and still supporting Democrat causes. My in-laws, gun carrying, abortion hating Democrats, agree.
Trump has only one full year to get his agenda passed. Next year the entire House and 1/3rd of the Senate will be spending their time running for reelection. If he doesn't retain his majorities, it will be like Nancy Pelosi redux, with a sham impeachment thrown in. The Framers surely never realized that Congress would get so dysfunctional. One way to make it better, and stop this endless campaigning, would be to change House terms to 4 years to coincide with the Presidential election.
The curse of being born in the wrong century... *sigh...*

"The Chair recognizes the scofflaw from Michigan..."
("Michigan? Is there such a place?" "I think it's somewhere in Penn's Sylvania..." "No it's not, it's in Can-tuck-ee." "Who let that guy in here?!")
"Mr. Madison, assembled grandees, I fear that if we schedule regular elections, and allow people to run for office, we will undoubtedly see the formation of political parties - a circumstance all of us wish to avoid, if I understand correctly.
"Regularly scheduled elections - particularly for the Chief Executive - will become drawn-out circuses lasting a year or more, preventing the government from accomplishing anything, and leaving the candidates beholden to their financiers.
"First, let's agree there will be no "universal suffrage". Most people - especially in the future - don't have the intelligence to manage their own affairs, let alone make decisions for a nation. Of course we won't interfere with them as they fuck up their own lives. We just fought a brutal war to guarantee the right to be wrong.
"Second, electors will have to pass a test - before each election. We get old or lazy and forget stuff. That's fine, just stay away from the voting booth when that happens. And forget your elitist property ownership qualification. In the future owning property will be the domain of only the super rich - like you guys. No, this test will test your knowledge of our political system, as well as assess your overall intelligence.
"The electors of a township (for example) will choose who will be the government of the township. This would most likely be another elector from the township - but not necessarily. (Yes, I'm thinking kinda Holy Roman Empire style here.) Of course said representative has to be a US citizen, and an elector somewhere. If said official is a disappointment, the electors will vote on whether to replace him. And if they vote in favor, once again they will choose a representative.
"Electors from the townships within the county choose who will be county government. And it scales up from there. Counties to state. State to Federal.
"No regularly scheduled elections. No candidates. No political parties. Whaddya think?"
Madison: "Maybe we made a mistake. Pickering, get on the phone with Billy Pitt. Let's see if Old Blighty will have us back."
Erdogan said Democracy is a bus. You get off at your stop. We now have the Elector of Hanover in office. No need for more elections until he passes - unless he passes it on to Don Jr. Then we're set!
Stop being so ideologically serious. I was just jesting. All lies in jest as Simon and Garfunkel said.
I've already admitted your system is the best in terms of how to vote. Perhaps we need a Peace King and a War King or Presidents if you like. A bit of Fascism must be there if your Republic would last. No elections for the duration of the War or Crisis.
Trying to flip the table on me Jars? I'd expect no less...
No Peace King/War King duality. When I'm runnin' this shit show - errr, I mean once the electoral system I have described is in-place and moral, qualified folks are running the show - war will go extinct. Hopefully I - I mean they - won't have to kill too many people to keep the peace...
Fascism? Like the government saying to corporations, "No, you can't do stupid shit like that" - like offshoring industry to increase profits, selling advanced technology to competitors, etc? Hell yeah. Martial and imperial? You're pissin' up the wrong tree buddy.
TrumpтАЩs charter? How to convince 48% of the American people that their futures depend on themselves and not the government. To the gimme class, it is an anathema. The Leftist Black leadership is having a giant conniption fit right now because Blacks are learning this lesson and their тАЬleadersтАЭ are losing control. FINALLY!!!!!
It truly is hard to see how the DNC Crime Syndicate will survive the year. They have become our October 1945 NAZI Party--banned.

I hope you are wrong!ЁЯШотАНЁЯТи
And easily 1/3 will just go with the winner, be it MAGA or Blob.

Well Jars, you just flunked the electoral test. And I thought you'd pass on the first try...
