Cankerpuss - nice to see you back in the mix. I even detect a little optimism. Amirite? If so, good for you.

Yes! I agree with you. People say practice what you preach. I say if you practice, there's no need to preach.

Others will see - no one needs lecturing.

I've been waiting for JHK to re-construct his website but decided I couldn't wait any longer. I missed the commentariat too much :)

I'm still a realist. The issues that plague this country are a cancer that are going to take years to cure, repair or expunge. I don't believe Donald Trump as one single man is going to be able to accomplish this, especially with just one 4 year term and a most like obstructionist Senate. We are still in a lot of trouble and we all know it. The debt. The wars. The inflation. The immigration. Those problems will still exist, Trump or no Trump.

But I am a little more hopeful than before. Here's why:

1. It seems the majority of the public no longer believe what propaganda media is telling them.

2. It seems the majority of the public no longer listen to whacked out millionaire celebrities.

3. It seems the majority of the public are obtaining their information or "news" from alternative sources.

4. It seems the majority of the public still love America, despise its bloated government and want to see things change.

So, yes, I am feeling a little more positive these days. My faith in the American people feels a little more restored. That being said, there were still tens of millions of Americans who voted for communism. That fact along is hard for me to wrap my brain around.

Completely agree. I'm not too fond of this format either - a lot of "substackers" - and it seems to dilute the intimacy of Jim's site, and the comment value a little, it seems. No disrespect intended, just my arrogant opinion.

Anything that gives Jim a wider audience, I'm all for - he's brilliant and prescient, with unmatched analytical ability and being able to distill things into language "everyman" can understand.

One plus is that many more women seem to engage here - smart, strong women - and lord knows I love the ladies, no matter how much Janos dogs me over it. I just can't help myself. So there's that.

The ladies are half the decision making in this country.

Agreed, I'll take the smart, strong ones, of which there are many, but the attention-seeking ladies can go their own way - no time for them.
