Commentary on architectural blunders in monthly serial.

In the urban setting, a fence should not be a fortification. A fence should delineate the boundary between the public realm and private property. But if we cannot see over or through the fence, our sense of continuity of place will be brutalized. Don't do this on your street in your town! I believe most people instinctively understand this; we just need a consensus of opinion strong enough to support good behavior.
