Israel has received the largest share of U.S. aid every year or almost every year since it was formed. Number 2 changes but Egypt is generally 2 or 3. I don’t know the reason for certain, but perhaps to assure the free access to the Suez Canal. Maybe we pay them to keep the peace with Israel. I don’t know, but I’ve always thought it was curious.
