Damn, you weren’t kidding that this is a long post! It’s a bit depressing, while at the same time energizing as there are potential solutions for many problems. First order of business is to have Elon and Vivek borrow Milei’s chainsaw and do to the bureaucracy what Elon did to Twitter (fire 80% of the employees). These two will give new meaning to the song “Who let the DOGEs out”!

Sorting out the political miscreants will take time and be fraught with many dangers, but Trump has surrounded himself with people dedicated to the elimination of those miscreants. He has assured their focus by bringing in those who have been previously violated by the blob.

Trump’s success is far from assured, but he is the only chance we have. We will know he’s been successful when housing prices in the DC area collapse as the bureaucrats and the private sector companies sucking the teat of government are terminated. January 20th can’t come soon enough!

Musk must not be given any power. He is building a massive satellite system for spying (starlink), he fully supports green energy and global warming by selling EVs, and he desperately wants to replace humanity with his bio-human robots. Giving this bum a foot in the door will be disastrous for this country and humanity. Do not be fooled by the glitz.

Expand full comment

I don’t see a bum, but a genius. You think my Starlink is spying on me and my phone and the NSA aren’t?

No - not the NSA. That would be in their area of responsibility and why would they ever want to do their job. Not how our government currently operates. Now - the CIA, Feds, DoD, IRS, Wal-Mart, and others - yes, they definitely want to know everything you do.

He and his sidekick Vivek seem to be preoccupied with flooding the USA with Indian Sub-continental cyber serfs. Of all the problems confronting this country at the moment that cry out for Musk's brilliance to tackle, he has decided the hill he wants to die on is relocating a much larger swath of India's downtrodden petite bourgeoisie to our shores, to the severe detriment of our native-born white collar workers.

I have spent the last couple of days studying competing opinions on the need for top tier engineers in Big Tech. This became clear: the need is immediate; India’s STEM programs are currently producing high quality graduates and parental support for such education is strong; U.S. needs only the very best and hardest working - about 1% of a fairly low number. This is not a flood. Also, DEI stupidity has ruined the career potential of white men for circa 40 years but is now seen as the poisonous mistake it is. Importing Indian tech engineers is a short term answer to an immediate problem while Americans gain the necessary skills to replace them, the work ethic to compete and the determination to do whatever it takes to succeed.

"..high quality graduates..."

I suggest you rethink your conclusions by reading the following:

An Apple Manager's Experience (https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1872633172636352958.html )

From the article: "When you are speaking with an Indian, you are not communicating. You are engaging in a choreographed dance where they are exclusively tasked with mirroring your moves, and leaving you to walk away thinking that your needs will be satisfied. And that is all that has happened."

And: "Regardless of context, every American needs to understand that they will lie under any circumstances for any reason or no apparent reason whatsoever. It is “cultural,” so get over your Christendom-centric notions of morality; those exist nowhere else on Earth."

I worked in Silicon Valley for decades, and this article also sums up my personal experiences. Is it "raaaaacist"? Who gives a damn, it's the truth. That word 'racism' itself means nothing, it's simply a dumb expletive used in place of real thought and analysis. It employs a trick as old as the ancient Greeks: attack the messenger, so as to ignore the real issues contained in the message.

Have you worked with them genius? They say yes when they mean no because they are trained never to say no and bullshit their way through every question. Why double down on the DEI insanity?

He replied, We need them yesterday. There's no time for schools. So in other words, India wins and we lose. This is his version of "Saving America" - letting us be colonized. He has powerful allies in Vivek and Vance, who has gone native.

A VERY big misunderstanding is evident when people keep talking about the "US debt". Let me attempt to break up this misnomer (no matter how futile this may be, since it always seems to fall upon deaf ears). If we have a debt, may I ask... WHO is it we owe money to?

(Some uneducated people will say we owe China. Really? If so, WHERE is the yuan that the US supposedly borrowed? Answer: There isn't any yuan in the USA because the USA doesn't borrow money from any country, or person!)

All the money in the US Treasury's bond market belongs to the people, funds and countries that have purchased "the debt". It is THEIR money, respectively. They get interest on it (coupons). They can withdraw it whenever they want. It is a large portion of the cash wealth (a portion of the money supply) that exists in the non-government or private sector. You can look at it as an interest bearing savings account. It IS NOT a debt. US Treasuries are ASSETS. The US Treasury could drastically lower or cancel interest payments on treasuries, yet, people will still keep their money there because it is the most optimal safe haven for storing money.

We need to understand both the fiscal and monetary policies of the USA. Most do not. In a nutshell... The US Treasury (fiscal) controls the money supply by spending to increase it, and taxing to reduce it. It's the banks that create credit, which is fronted, repaid, and then zeroed out in a ledger. Hello?! We are no longer on a gold standard. Finance does not follow such archaic principles.

Because (((kunstler)))

Expand full comment

I thought it was Kunstler's best article in a while--until I got to the world situation. Given the half-truths about Israel and distortions about the Palestinians, it makes me question the validity of the rest of the piece. For example, I'm certainly no expert on China. I'd like to think Mr. Kunstler's comments were valid, but who knows? Truth is truth. The comments on Israel do sound logical and make sense--if one is not aware of the facts that there were Palestinians Arabs living in Palestine for a long time who were (and are being) violently expelled and abused.

Regarding Syria, completely overlooked is the role of the US-led sanctions since 2011, and how the consistently undermined the regime, like an acid.

It's rich, and unfortunate, that Mr. Kunstler choses to undermine his reputation, earned over a lifetime of good essays and books by promoting the Zionist lies of "mass murders, beheadings and rapes" by Palestinians (the beheaded babies have been debunked by several people, including Max Blumenthal--who ironically is good enough to be quoted on a previous CFN; you can't mass murder with AK-47s and hand grenades), when in fact the record clearly shows that it is Israel engaged in industrial mass murder, and it is the Israelis who have been raping Palestinian prisoners. And most Israelis supported sodomizing Palestinians, according to polls, didn't they?

Well, this is an "Israel uber alles" space.

Even worse, Mr. Kunstler pointedly leaves out what likely is in store: now that Israel is emboldened by its success or good luck in removing Assad (which may boomerang), it will be seen as an opportunity to attack Iran's nuclear and energy program, since Iran, the apparent big loser in the fall of Assad, appears to be weaker now. A lot of US Neocons will see it that way. Perhaps that will include Trump's new SecState and SecDef.

So I predict there will be a US/Israeli attack on Iran. And I predict the Israeli/US attack on Iran will precipitate a lot of other actions, military, economic, cyberwar, globally. The Iran attack will unleash a tidal wave that will wash over many other issues in the essay initially--and then make them even MORE intractable. When the Mid-East oil stops, probably fracking output starts to (finally) decline, we will see how we fare here in the big PX. Or when our plastic money is knocked out of commission after the Chinese or Russians knock out some satellites, or a few of the "harmless" illegals are "activated" to wreak havoc inside the US. It's not very hard to do....

I'm sure China will take a big hit also, of course. The whole world will.

Regarding Ukraine, just an opinion, but I disagree with Mr. Kunstler's prediction that Ukraine will keep Odessa. It is a vital Russian interest to control as much of the Black Sea coast as possible. Odessa is actually a RUSSIAN city, founded by Russians (it is really "New Odessa", founded near the ancient Hellenic (Greek) city of the same name, after Catherine the Great captured it from the Ottoman Turks, who captured it from the Byzantine Greeks). The Russians can permit the Ukrainians to sell grain, if Ukraine behaves, and pays a modest toll.

Biden is still the Prez, he can still spark an escalation with Russia that Trump can't manage down; President-elect Trump will always be in mortal danger. In the time we have before the SHTF in Iran (that rhymes), we will see if President Trump (and RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard) actually makes any inroads as Mr. Kunstler supports (and I agree) with corruption and abuse of power by the government, or if Mr. Trump simply is going take care of his rich and powerful friends. Already, his latest distraction is to talk Greenland and the Panama Canal.

Take the time to read the entire article. But Mr. Kunstler missed a BIG one. He starts with all the intentional failings of the Biden administration. He needed to start eight years earlier with Barack Obama. Obama was an illegal candidate with intentions to divide the country by race, which it is now just recovering from as people realize it isn’t race at all but cultural differences. That did not become apparent until millions of unwanted invaders entered across our open borders and each set up their enclaves, with no intention of assimilating. Barack Obama, as I have proven since 2009, has been using a stolen Connecticut Social Security Number, violating federal law. Every taxpayer dollar he sent to support our enemy’s military, every EO he signed that allowed cities to be torn apart by leftist lunatics, and every law he signed into effect was illegal. Crooked, deceitful Obama stuck the match that has, perhaps, permanently damaged our country. He, and everyone who helped him gain access to the White House, needs to be arrested and every asset of the Obamas and those who helped needs to be criminally forfeited. Use their billions in illegal gains to help our country regain its footing.

Race isn't real? That would have been news to the Founders. They never considered Blacks and Indians are potential American citizens. Jefferson saw Blacks as a great threat and wanted them moved across the seas, beyond all danger of mixture. The current situation was his worst fear. He predicted both a Civil War and a Race War if things were allowed to just drift. One down, one on the way.

Expand full comment

Race is not the impediment it was in the past.

Why? Because the real conflict in any society is the one between the Haves and the Have-Nots trying to steal what the Haves have. Socialists believe that the government is the tool to be used to settle that conflict, that will never happen, Every revolution in history is started when the government does not pay enough attention to the Have-Nots, who always outnumber the Haves.

All ethnic groups are progressing in the USA and as the Have-Nots cross all ethnic lines, Race becomes less important.

The Dems screwed up putting their brand on the minority ethnic groups to put them over the top. Son of a gun, something happened, a significant portion of those group became Haves protecting their capital. The Dems are in deep shit trying to figure out who to appeal to now.

They thoroughly outperform the whites from prep schools, etc. because their teachers make learning delightful and demand performance out of their pupils. Similar charter schools exist elsewhere. It is not race, it is culture. The book "Please Stop Helping Us" by an American Black, describes the importation of poor white trash from Ireland and Wales over a century ago. Their children attended public schools, learned proper American English and other subjects and entered the mainstream. The blacks still have those immigrants' trashy language and attitudes. How do we persuade millions of trashy blacks and others to drop the trashiness, study hard in school and build a culture of which all Americans can be proud? A few of them have done it--how do we persuade the rest?

Black parents notice the utter dearth of Black students. They raise a ruckus and the school caves. Black students enter and standards ar dropped. White students leave since there is no point. Wise parents withdraw their students before they can be assaulted.

It wasn't always like this.

Worse that class now believes they are better than everyone else.

For example, had two black land whales walking basically right into my wife and I. This event occurred in a huge courtyard and as we passed them, they commented on us cutting them off.

So, I turned and asked them why they thought they had right of way, and we had to get out of their way.

I then smugly said I was stronger than them and would have simply walked over them and they should learn their real place in society to be seen and not heard.

On paper, the Iroquois looked like that too. One guy who lived and worked with them said it just wasn't true. The Council of Women could depose the Chief - in favor of another man. But they revered their men and would hardly ever use this power. Compare that to our irreverent, greedy, power mad women. If they had the power, they would use if constantly and foolishly.

Was it the Cherokee who had the saying, A people aren't finished until their women's hearts are on the ground. In other words, we're finished.

Lakota Sioux - "We'll never be defeated until the hearts of our women are broken."

In their wisdom, the Sioux warriors understood that their strength in battle, came from the support of their women - the strength needed to protect their women and children - thus completing the circle.

In short - strong women make strong men stronger. You already know this from our past studies.

"Compare that to our irreverent, greedy, power mad women." ~ Lugh

The women you describe are self-absorbed, attention-seeking harlots, in other words, weak women. The differences are obvious.

Even the evil Lincoln had roughly the same view as Jefferson. Up until the last week of his life, Lincoln was working on plans to repatriate blacks. White Southerners, in the chaos of Reconstruction, came up with the only decent, workable plan, which was separate, parallel societies that didn't interact. Segregation was an incredibly benevolent gift from white Southerners to black Americans. They should kneel and pray every day that they weren't smote from this land at the end of Reconstruction. It could easily have happened.

"In early 2000, scientists at 3M, the chemicals giant, made a startling discovery: High levels of PFAS, the virtually indestructible “forever chemicals” used in nonstick pans, stain-resistant carpets and many other products were turning up in the nation’s sewage.

"The researchers were concerned. The data suggested that the toxic chemicals, made by 3M, were fast becoming ubiquitous in the environment. The company’s research had already linked exposure to birth defects, cancer and more.

"That sewage was being used as fertilizer on farmland nationwide, a practice encouraged by the Environmental Protection Agency. The presence of PFAS in the sewage meant those chemicals were being unwittingly spread on fields across the country.

"3M didn’t publish the research, but the company did share its findings with the E.P.A. at a 2003 meeting, according to 3M documents reviewed by the The New York Times. The research and the E.P.A.’s knowledge of it has not been previously reported."

Hi Jim,

Great stuff - while agreeing with most of your analysis, you miss the mark on Israel.

They are the reason for our perpetual war-like attitude towards everyone and everything - the Israel lobby runs our defense department - check out Tucker’s recent interview with Jeffrey Sachs for the down and dirty - Jeffrey may die mysteriously for his candor.

Then there’s 9-11 - we know from the “dancing Israeli’s” that Israel knew about this attack in advance and did nothing to stop it - which means they were involved, apparently with the complicity of our own government. Quite the “ally” - they are allied with our deep state, which is itself the most direct threat to its own citizenry.

Logical fallacy at its finest.

Another take Israel was excited by Americas actual entrance into the war on terror and the knowledge they are no longer fighting alone against the global jihad or lessor war.

As far as knowledge of an attack there was a jihadi manual captured from a Filipino jihad manual roughly a decade earlier that clearly outlined attacks ranging from flare guns along Southern California fires to taking down buildings with aircraft and bombs.

The alleged dancing Israeli pictures and videos could just as easily be Palestinians or anyone else dancing at any time since we have clearly seen the media lies and the Jordanians now calling themselves Palestinians lie non-stop about everything.

News services at the time clearly identified all the dancing as Muslim on the Jersey side. As did interviewed neighbors who declined to be identified of course. That is archived. Then became the change of narrative…lie.

A very interesting, and sobering 30k' view. My ONLY critical comment goes to JHK's synopsis of the Israel/Palestine portion of the forecast, which IMO is far too simplistic and which fails to impose the same standards of morality, natural law, and obvious common sense that infuse the rest of his treatise. It's like for JHK Israel should get 'a pass' and be allowed to continue to operate in the US taxpayer dollar paradise it's been living in for the last 70 years, with no changes (because obviously 'it's perfect as it is'). However, as the single most aggressive, destabilizing and destructive country in the ME, that just isn't a status Israel deserves by any metric other than per Zionist absolutism, and as a result Israel should be forced to stop relying on legalized US technology theft, outright American monetary, military AND armaments handouts, as well as almost total control of the US Congress and the sympathies of (apparently) the entire incoming executive branch. I'm just saying that while we're dreaming, and imposing accountability on ourselves, lets not forget about the 'elephants in the room' just because we're aligned with them at a personal level. It's hypocrisies (double-standards) like that which can undermine the moral authority of any enterprise or massive change that is being projected to occur under Trump 2.0 and the unhappy realities created by our collective can-kicking down the road for the last forty years at least. Let's do this differently, and not allow favored pets like Israel to remain exempt from the rules of civilization, and free of accountability for it's actions when everybody else is being held to account for the west's collective sins resulting from many generations of moral bankruptcy, and greed just because it's convenient to what has been America's project of empire building since the end of WWII.

The US gets nothing in return for the economic and military support that it provides to the ethno-supremacist apartheid nation of Israel. In fact, the U.S. suffers internationally on account of its close relationship with Israel because of its constant vetoing of UN Resolutions intended to punish Israel for its human rights violations.

There is no alliance, and Israel is not our ally. Its government does not behave as an ally does, it has never fought alongside US forces in any of our foreign wars. Its interests are not aligned with ours as an ally’s should be. There is no formal treaty and no binding obligations that require our governments to do anything for the other.

Pundits always grossly exaggerates the extent of the ties between our governments. Israel is routinely called our “most important ally” in the region, or even our “most cherished ally” in all the world. These are ideological assertions that are not grounded in reality. Dozens of other states all over the world are better allies to the United States than the “most cherished ally” is. And they don’t preside over an illegal occupation and decades of abuses and crimes against the Palestinian people living under Israeli occupation. Now being ethnically cleansed in a genocide with US supplied bombs dropped on refugee camps and hospitals.

The effect of this constant repetition is to make the US/Israel relationship to be extremely important to U.S. interests when it is not. It promotes an illusion of a common interest where no real common interest exists ~ and has now suckered the US into being complicit in a genocide.

The US taxpayers are having billions of their taxes stolen and given to apartheid Israel. Americans do not have Universal healthcare. But pay for Israel to have Universal healthcare. And the US is $35-trillion in Debt. The US and Israel have made themselves pariahs in the eyes of the World. This is not going to end well for the US or Israel. The US will survive. The same cannot be said for Israel.

Tim, Israel created the Gaza Strip, trying to buy peace with land as they have done other times. Bibi is going to just eliminate the Gaza Strip and remove the burr under his saddle blanket.

Your one sided defense of the Arabs is humorous at times as you cherry pick all the history of the Israel Arab conflict. It must take lots of research to come up with all the anti-Israel propaganda.

And yet you did respond.

Which shows you are a liar as well.

Even more amusing is the absolute and utter ignorance you show for history.

Common knowledge that Iran has indeed disappeared tens of thousands of people their families and friends in fact anyone that spoke out about the Islamic theocracy from start to now.

Years to research 1981-1982 and 1988.

They still however beat, jail and rape anyone not willing to live by their backwards religion.

Some might call this a Genocide of people who refuse to live by their rules.

They have also repeatedly called for the wiping of Israel off the map but are to cowardly to actually commit to it themselves.

Weren't you pro-Israel though?

I thought Jim did a good job explaining in simple terms how the Palestinians misused the funds they were given to help them to settle into the Gaza territory. Choices have consequences.

Much agreed, ezinmn; the Eritreans did the very thing JHK suggested, and vacationing Russians sun themselves on Red Sea beaches at luxury resorts.

When Ethiopian dictator Haile Sallasie died, his sons went to war; one of them won himself a new country, Eritrea, and the rights to build those coastal resorts.

Although I detest Jared Kushner, his idea was the correct one- he appealed to greed, not to bloodlust, and would replace the misspent funds of corrupt UNRWA on fine dining rather than death tunnels and rocket attacks.

The Palestinians could've earned themselves a country, and did not; although Jews push the hardest of bargains as a test of one's intelligence, if you outwit them, they will back down and honor the deal. (They even do this with each other.)

Not sure about anything you said as truth, facetious commentary, and ancient history don't mix well.

That said, at least Palestinians would have good paying jobs along their 25-mile seashore had they chosen differently. Maybe we'd have a Palestinian Donald J. Trump real estate mogul by now as well!

Capitalism doesn't have to be a bad thing. One could say that Capitalism is the worst economic system, except for all the others.

Right, the unprovoked attacks from Hamas started soon after they got elected, murdered the PA reps in Gaza, and started stockpiling weapons.

Lest we forget billions spent on tunneling to hide weapons and conduct operations of war and not taking care of the people.

Hamas is the second worst thing to happen to the people without a country.

Time to send the arabs of gaza back to Jordan.

Think about the Arab nations ready to accept Israel into economic comradeship with the Abraham Accords. Are they willing to accept the zealots in Gaza, Lebanon, or Yemen into their countries to continue to raise hell?

I doubt it. No one wants these folks who seem unable to get along with anyone.

You opine as if you've lived among either group -- and that you yourself have ultimate power to condemn as God. Have you such direct, intimate experience of these peoples? Or are you just a snooty little honkey with something of an edjukation and a relatively stable cash position who naively believes himself 2b a modern NOSTRADAMUS?

Amen. Between the Zionist chanting in unison and the millions of Indians soon to arrive on our shores, one realizes that our Renaissance is to built on the sands of lies and betrayal.
