Even the evil Lincoln had roughly the same view as Jefferson. Up until the last week of his life, Lincoln was working on plans to repatriate blacks. White Southerners, in the chaos of Reconstruction, came up with the only decent, workable plan, which was separate, parallel societies that didn't interact. Segregation was an incredibly benevolent gift from white Southerners to black Americans. They should kneel and pray every day that they weren't smote from this land at the end of Reconstruction. It could easily have happened.

Wow! I hope you don’t share this view inside your family. I can imagine pushback from wives, children neighbors etc. I however think you are on to something.

My wife and her parents agree with me. My mother is a hopeless leftist. She has been appalled with my views since I was 10. My father is a golfing Republican. He only cares about his brokerage account.
