I have spent the last couple of days studying competing opinions on the need for top tier engineers in Big Tech. This became clear: the need is immediate; India’s STEM programs are currently producing high quality graduates and parental support for such education is strong; U.S. needs only the very best and hardest working - about 1% of a fairly low number. This is not a flood. Also, DEI stupidity has ruined the career potential of white men for circa 40 years but is now seen as the poisonous mistake it is. Importing Indian tech engineers is a short term answer to an immediate problem while Americans gain the necessary skills to replace them, the work ethic to compete and the determination to do whatever it takes to succeed.
From the article: "When you are speaking with an Indian, you are not communicating. You are engaging in a choreographed dance where they are exclusively tasked with mirroring your moves, and leaving you to walk away thinking that your needs will be satisfied. And that is all that has happened."
And: "Regardless of context, every American needs to understand that they will lie under any circumstances for any reason or no apparent reason whatsoever. It is “cultural,” so get over your Christendom-centric notions of morality; those exist nowhere else on Earth."
I worked in Silicon Valley for decades, and this article also sums up my personal experiences. Is it "raaaaacist"? Who gives a damn, it's the truth. That word 'racism' itself means nothing, it's simply a dumb expletive used in place of real thought and analysis. It employs a trick as old as the ancient Greeks: attack the messenger, so as to ignore the real issues contained in the message.
Yes, you have a point. I have no experience whatsoever in the Tech world but I do have 70 yrs experience of Indian immigrants. Here in England, this began in the ‘50s and the majority were Hindus and Sikhs who were hard-working, often intermarried, were cheerful and rarely broke the law. They represent a very small minority in British prisons. However, we then started getting Muslims from Pakistan and at first there wasn’t much of a problem until fairly recently when they became quite a large minority. Many people confuse Pakistanis with Indians but they are very different culturally and in their behaviour. Muslims practice something called “taquiyya” which means they can - and even must - lie to non-Muslims for any reason or none. We now have a major problem all across Europe because of Islam. We have had no problem whatsoever with Indians who are Hindus or Sikhs and they are some of our best and most conscientious citizens. I’m not making an argument re your post but simply wonder if sometimes immigrants from Pakistan - or Muslims from India - are taken for Indians.
I agree with you! I'm in the U.S., and I've found that Hindus and Sikhs of Indian descent who have come to the U.S. to work are honest, smart, and hard-working! Based on my personal experience, I would happily live among or hire immigrants from India. (Their culture is VERY different from that of Muslims from Pakistan and elsewhere, who practice taquiyya and desire religious dominance.)
Yeah, well right now we're talking about Hindus. So stop trying to change the subject. Yes, they're much less violent. I assume the Pakis have all the drawbacks of the Hindus as well as being violent.
Have you worked with them genius? They say yes when they mean no because they are trained never to say no and bullshit their way through every question. They would never reach the caliber of techs from America, Ireland, England, Russia or Scotland. I've worked with them all and I'm amazed our systems work at all these days - they only do because we're tasked with cleaning up the mess

"..high quality graduates..."
I suggest you rethink your conclusions by reading the following:

Brits are oddly enamored with Indians. I never understood it

And Muslim who only see the way of the lessor Jihad forward.
Thanks for your comment. Very enlightening.
