I have I was actively looking at buying a diesel truck for several years.

I'm not wrong they are still dirty even with DEF.

All you need to do is go put your face in front of an exhaust pipe from each or be behind any diesel vehicle and the difference is huge.

Senses don't lie.

I'm talking about German turbo diesel technology with DEF. Not semi trucks or huge pickups with metal nuts swinging off the trailer hitch and an itty bitty guy driving who is the assistant to the assistant deputy fire captain on the local volunteer fire department, blasting tractor rap.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Now that is funny.

You have your opinion and are entitled to it.

Every diesel I have ever seen has been stinky cars, trucks, tractors, boats, generators and yes even those German made def diesels it's fact of life.

They have there place on the road but I would rather not be behind one.

You must be a boomer who thinks modern German turbo diesels with DEF are the same as the horseshit diesel engines GM put out in the 70's/80's. My uninformed father has the same opinion, because he's a moron.

Not a boomer wrong answer and no Modern FORD diesel trucks as well as a VW TDI wagon as well as some Mercedes diesels.

"Not a boomer wrong answer"

Well, then, your ignorance is astounding.

You're an honorary Boomer.

And yet I have had experience with the tech you are blathering on about so now I have to come to the conclusion you are just being an asshole.

All old technology.

You've obviously never driven a Passat or Jetta TDI or even been around them. They are completely silent and cleaner than gas motors.

No just a VW TDI wagon and it was fairly quiet.

I'm not even sure they sell those in the great commie state of California anymore.

They don't sell them anywhere in the US, unless you can find a used one. Obama destroyed the market with his bullshit lawsuit and VW packed up and went home. As I said, it was decided that electric cars were going to be the future. In order to make that happen, they had to kill the market for German turbo diesels. They were cheap, reliable, got fantastic mileage, were built by Germans, and were selling like hot cakes.
