Yes, the тАЬreligious тАЬ crowd believes for the most part. But thereтАЩs a larger subset of God-believers that believe God is good and would never allow an evil being to tempt us humans and ultimately lead us away from Him. My God would never allow that, they say. I think they donтАЩt understand the whole story. Just read the book of Job. At some point God will come back and at that point itтАЩs too late. Bring a good person isnтАЩt enough. HeтАЩs a good God and a Just God, and has laid instructions out for us clearly. ItтАЩs our choice, our free will.
