William my friend, I'm 75-years-old. Raised in a Catholic family.

Read the Bible every day and prayed to "God" every morning and night. With as much humility as I could muster.

Went to Church every Sunday. Taught kids Sunday School. Attended many adult Bible Classes. Went to Bible camps.

Looking over my shoulder every day worrying I was pleasing God. Being forced to love someone I feared. The very essence of sadomasochism. And being aware as I got older that the Priests were sexually abusing little kids. And being forced to keep my mouth shut.

At 56-years-old "God" had never revealed himself to me. Not once. I finally figured out that I had been brainwashed as a young child. And it was all bovine excrement! Either God did not give a shit, or he did not exist.

I threw of my chains and shackles of tyrannical religion and learned to think for myself. And have been a happy secular humanist ever since. The best thing I ever did. I changed my life for the better.

When I realized that Hell wasn’t true it was the biggest relief of my life. Now I don’t worry that my friends and loved ones are in danger of burning in hell because they don’t believe in the Bible. I’ve slept much better since.

My only regrets: wasting so much time of the only life you get here on earth with this debilitating nonsense. The whole story about Jesus coming back to life after crucifixion is a story invented by religious cultists. Myth at best. Lies at worst.

Did you seek Him? Sit in silence with God-On-Earth (the Eucharist) and listen? "Be still and know that I am God"? Are you able to sit quietly? "All of a man's problems stem from him not being able to sit quietly in his own room" - Pascal.

Sitting with the Eucharist is sitting in His room. Read the works of Charlie Rich, an Orthodox Jew who converted. He failed in a suicide attempt in Central Park (people came by) so he sought refuge in the coolness of a church on a hot Summer day. God spoke to him.....

My favorite meme is Jesus standing behind the surgeon saying, "What are you doing? I put that tumor in there for a reason!"

In other words, you never sought him. And if He came to you, you would start screaming No, No, and pounding the walls with your fist as Sartre did during his mystical visitation.

You are a natural born demon.

"If we are made in God's image, why are we not invisible, Lugh?

Do you also believe in an invisible dog that created the dog universe, and when dogs die, they meet their dog friends in an invisible dog heaven? And if not, why not?

It'd be a lot easier to convince me of the existence of a "God" if you just brought credible evidence. Just do that, and until you do, don't get your panties all in a knot when I don't believe your claims. Theists understand evidence right up to the point where the evidence no longer supports their beliefs.

Stop the bullshit! Just present the evidence for the existence of your “God” and that's all.

Go find some other gullible fool to annoy my friend.

Apologists in a nutshell: "God is incomprehensible, now listen very carefully while I tell you all about him."

If what God does is above us, then why do we have all these believers like you Lugh speaking for God forever explaining him?

People put in far too much effort to still end up being wrong.

The God excuse: the last refuge of a man with no answers and no argument.

The guy with the tumor was 'taking one for the team'. You see, God can't make humans without smashing up other humans, right? Or planets. So the ones who are getting smashed up are taking one for the team, for the love of God.

That's what God told me.

I get it Dennis. A have duked it out with staunch Catholics and occasionally one will be saved. The RCC is a brutal institution and has been responsible for millions of deaths globally since their beginnings. Truly sorry for those wasted years. Seems you have thrown the baby out with the bathwater. I am 81. Lived among both Catholics and Jews as a kid. As a Goy and an unbeliever I walked a fine line. Was 34 when I had an encounter with the living God. Never looked back. Sweet and sublime. Perhaps you’ll actually confess and repent one day. Blessings.

You are a condescending old prick!

I had an encounter with the living God bovine excrement!

How did you know it was God?

"Oh, but there's evidence for Gods existence! There are so many things!"

“There's...... uhh......eeermm ... I saw God’s face and I talk to him!”

Every fucking time.

Personal experience is NOT a valid reason to believe anything. If it were, we would have no way of determining whose experience reflects reality. Believers cannot rationally reason that personal experiences are the pathway to truth ~ because they don’t accept other people’s experiences as proof of the claims they make with whom they disagree.

“Every God is false, except the one I believe in” - every religious person I’ve known.

There are ways of determining what is actually true. Claims from Personal Experience is not one of them.

Ultimately, as with so many expressions it all comes down to intent. But the next time a Christian says, “I’ll pray for you,” and "Perhaps you’ll actually confess and repent one day" ~ notice how the sentence is used.

Is it a kind expression of love and concern, or is it what it is meant to be ~ a slap in your face? "I am superior to you. I know the truth - you are ignorant!"

The fact is Christians don't think they're smart enough to live their lives without some sort of divine intervention. They need their imaginary crutch!

Wow. Dennis you really have alot of powerful bitterness after your life with the RCC. Almost PTSD. Your deep wounds reveal a broken heart in every word you write. It is near impossible to navigate life in the midst of that brokenness. And I know it’s difficult for a spouse as well. There is a remedy but you make a habit of stiff-arming the only Man who can help you. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. They that love either will eat the fruit thereof. You always choose death by the words you say and write. Such a pity.

Really? And all this time I thought it might be the power of the penis or the big bang.

You know NOTHING about me asshole!

F*ck you and your bullshit.

Keep your delusions to yourself!

And quit your fucking preaching!

You are a religious Whack Job!

I just spent 15 - 20 minutes reading your anti-Jesus rantings, Dennis. I have an idea, why not quit your atheist diatribe and William stop his “Christian” challenges. JHK’s blog would by 1/3 shorter.

“And quit your fucking preaching”?

Try following your own request.

So my critics of Williams religion are rants and diatribes.

And his nonsense, insults and telling me I'm going to hell are just polite "challenges" to me?

You are a piece of work my friend! GMAFB.

If religion was kept in their churches and their heads, and they would quit always insisting they are superior to me, I'd be generally OK with that.

But the truth is that all religion whack jobs, not only Christian Jesus freaks like you John: The divided states of delusion, hubris, arrogance, ignorance, hypocrisy and stupidity. People killing each other trying to decide who has the best imaginary friend.

You shouldnt call yourself a Goy. That would be the enemies terminology.
