Jim, I promote you to all my friends and family. I tell them you are Hunter Thompson with all the wit and none of the drugs. I tell them that are bright hopeful light in a sea of despair and black tar darkness. You routinely condemn these mischief makers as felons and murderers, which of course they are. Do you really think a few well deserved "puns" from your loyal readers deserve such scorn from the man himself? I would hope you could let such things slide, at least a little. Why bite the hands that feed?

Also: 1. Autocorrect stole my 2nd person noun "you" from a sentence above, "...you are a bright hopeful...."

2. Having personal rules for commenters, no matter how sensible, is a form of censorship. Yes, it's your blog, and you cry if you want to. However, as you might say, it's a "bad look".

3. Are we ever allowed to criticize Israel here? Tucker let Jeffery Sachs do it for almost a whole hour? What's your policy?

Requiring that commenters not use a childish pun is a form of censorship? Personally, I prefer the lack of stupid puns because often I don't know to what the pun is referring. I'd rather have the name of the individual so I know exactly to whom the writer is referring. From my part, I appreciate this "rule." It makes the comments more concise and understandable.

Just my opinion.

If you must, maybe use such terms along the lines of 'The Golden Golem Of Greatness' or "JB" (that's with the quotes); mention how Kunstler sounds a bit like cluster (phonetic anagram with a dropped n?), and how Clusterfuck (Nation) is a bit of a portmanteau but doesn't 'degrade the conversation' because it's only a title and so not within the body of the conversation and in any case is designed by the owner of the blog.

Oh, and change your nickname to a 'stupid pun' so it's 'outside of the conversation'. Stuff like that.

Allowing actual Nazis to comment: perfectly acceptable! Bad puns? A BRIDGE TOO FAR!

Actual Nazis? Thank goodness you are monitoring the situation.

Who was it that reverently lifted up a tress of a blonde girl's hair and said, This is what we are fighting for? Was it Herr Hess? Commander Rockwell? Or am I remembering the future again?

I think you are remembering the future. I once read an anecdote that a Southern soldier, before he left for the war, saw some ladies walking down the street of Charleston, SC and remarked to his company that that is what we are fighting for.
