We live in Western North Carolina and have lived with a post-disaster nightmare now for over three months and to be honest, I wish everything had burned up instead of gotten buried in toxic mud and debris. Our communities will never be the same and it is especially heartbreaking that people are still living in tents along the Swannanoa River in 20° weather, with a winter snowstorm barreling straight for us. I'm sorry for the posh people in Pacific Palisades who lost their homes, but at least they were able to go to the Beverly Hills Hotel or some other nice hotel and get ready accommodations. The people of Western North Carolina have been all but forgotten and FEMA is doing very little. The most the FEMA will reimburse a single person for damages is $42,000 so I hope that the folks in California aren't expecting their fancy beach homes to be replaced. At least they don't have to witness one of their dead neighbors being fed on by bears or climb over 50 high banks of debris entangled with dead bodies. Small blessings I suppose.
The folks in LA have not seen any FEMA or National Guard folks as of last night. I was thinking too, that when these folks look to find lodging during these first days and weeks, they are going to find loads of competition from all the illegals the Newsom Mob are paying for.
They'll keep the illegals in the hotels and make the citizens scramble for housing on their own. Remember that democrats live by ideology, and their ideology dictates that illegals are more needy than citizens, no matter the circumstances.

Immigration is the essence of America. They are more American than we are. Infinite potential! No place to go but up. Bootstraps! Cheap labor.
