I hate to like this comment but there’s truths in these assertions that can’t be ignored. So like it is.They really do hate us enough to create internal warscapes to take us down.

Yes.

Add the California insurance companies who "just happened" to cancel the insurance policies of tens of thousands of California insureds, just months before insurance arsonists struck and burned their houses down. No there's a list to behold and wonder at.

And don't leave out the California professional politicians from the list, those who made sure there would be no water in the fire hydrants to fight the fires with. Fires they made inevitable due to "gross incompetence." Like those "words" mean anything anymore.

Expand full comment

Due to the losses from wildfires over the years, State Farm and Allstate asked for rate increases on Home-owners insurance and were refused by, you guessed it, Newsom and the Sacramento Mafia. So they cancelled the availability of the insurance. It is not only in LA either. I would guess we have seen just the start.

Expand full comment

Actually, having worked and lived in California for many years, it was the professional politicians who "cancelled" the affordability of houses and homeowner's insurance.

A new roof runs $30,000.00. A new septic system costs around $30,000.00. The average MSRP for a new car is now $4,800.00 -- up another $1,000 in one year. I haven't got that kind of money just lying around. Most people I know don't. Pay off your mortgage and you find out how much of your "home" our really own. Try not paying your ever-increasing property taxes (now going up almost annually here in Upstate New York, where the government is desperate for money) and see how long you "own" your house for.

Financialization will be the death of housing. Yet, for Californians, fire is free.

Expand full comment

That's why people are supposed to understand that they put money aside for repairs. Insurance is inflating the prices. The roofers can now charge more because "insurance" pays.

Interesting insight. Like medicine. Lewis Mumford argued against Insurance in principle generations ago, saying it was anti-life. Apparently he was on to something.

It might work if people were ethical, but they aren't. I try to be but I am sure I am not always the best either.

Expand full comment

Nope, insurance is not inflating prices. It's not hard to understand. Insurance covers risk of covering replacement cost - houses, cars, etc.

Inflation has caused the prices of all materials to go up --> replacement cost is up. A house used to cost $100/SF to build, now it costs $300/SF.

So, yeah - lose a roof and now it costs $30K to replace it, not $10K, so what do you think happens with insurance premiums?

Expand full comment

Sure inflation is a problem. I still think grifting causes some of these increases in cost. "Let's replace the roof, because insurance pays." If insurance didn't exist, you would replace the roof when it needed it. Roofer wouldn't swoop in every time there was a hailstorm. Our insurance almost got cancelled after the last hailstorm. https://www.forbes.com/advisor/insurance/fraud-statistics/

Anna - in this instance, regarding roofing, you're 100% correct. This is a pretty well-known scam - if you will. The roofing industry lobbyists somehow got it written into law that if roofs are "damaged by hail", the insurance companies are liable for the cost of replacement.

After hailstorms, unscrupulous roofers canvass the neighborhoods, going door to door, offering free inspections. Then, as you say, people figure, it it's covered by insurance, why not?

Even worse, in Florida, somehow insurance lobbyists have had it written into law, that if your roof is more than 10 years old, they can drop you. A few people I know have had to pay for a new roof, in order to retain their homeowner's insurance.

Both are robbery, and ultimately the roofers benefit in both instances. As always, follow the money. It also gives you an idea of what our legislators do all day, while we're hard at work so we can pay their salaries.

As Shakespeare said, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the roofers."

While a reasonable question exists concerning DEW in Hawaii with nothing blue turning to cinders, I think this was plain old do-gooder incompetence, the annual wind fest, and undoubtedly fire bug arsonists of the mentally ill and criminal persuasions.

It is remarkable that we are seeing total destruction of the wealthiest and most scenic places in the country.

We ARE seeing it. Try driving I-40 from Knoxville to Asheville.

If there is ANYTHING positive going on in the world besides the re-election of DJT, it's the fact that Hollywood has run out of ideas and its fabulously wealthy pedophiles and gays will soon be as popular as hand-held transistor radios and Fatty Arbuckle.

Hand-held transistor radios served their purpose, and quite well, for a time. I got one for Christmas when I was 10-years-old in 1963, and it was a big deal. I look back warmly and fondly at transistor radios. Not so much Fatty Arbuckle. Fatty Arbuckle is like all celebrities: American crap.

I just got through re-watching the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. I was stunned with horror at Keira Knightly's teeth. What choppers. Those were maneater teeth. And I had to ask: "What was that all about? Why was she so important?"

However, I discovered that Kelly Reilly played an amazing part in the movie as Lady Catherine Bigley. Wonderful portrayal. However, Reilly is positively unrecognizable from the Kelly Reilly playing Beth Dutton in "Yellowstone." Must be all those tits and ass she shows off so prominently. Nothing like jumping the shark to kill a career. She too will be forgotten in a few years.

Yes, we're chimps. In some cultures, big smiles are considered offensive. I thought she was incredibly beautiful in that movie. I'm a chimp of this culture I guess.

Note: Don't date any American Indian chicks. Their teeth are huger.

Keira Knightly is pure perfection.

Is that before or after she got her teeth fixed? She did BTW. It did not improve her appearance. That was what broke my heart. Not her man-eating choppers that seemed to hurt her face whenever she smiled broadly., and made me want to shove a McDonalds "Happy Meal" at her. Just one last thing. The 2005 version of "Pride and Prejudice" is my favorite. My preferring it to the other versions is not diminished at all by Keira Knightly. She is a perfectly adequate period actress.

had to laugh at this. Not sure about the timing of her dental cosmetics.

Here is photographic proof of DEW:

More proof: PALISADES Wildfire *SCARY COINCIDENCE* From AREA 51! MUST WATCH!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LkgzIYt9S4

There are tons more pictures on Twitter/X proving DEW was used do a search.

LOTS of evidence this was planned: insurance cancelled for all homeowners with State Farm insurance in Pacific Palisades; absolutely NO water in fire hydrants in Pacific Palisades and in Hollywood. They're trying to tell us this was brush fire, but this is L.A. a HUGE city and no brush or very little in Pacific Palisades - if this was started by a brush fire, then why are the TREES STILL GREEN AND STANDING UNTOUCHED WHILE LAWNS ARE STILL BRIGHT GREEN BUT JUST HE HOMES ARE BURNED DOWN??? I grew up in L.A. in Hollywood Hills and also close to Pacific Palisades, this whole thing was coordinated. Then there's this:

One billionaire couple owns almost ALL water in Calif:

thanks for this E Grogan, i'm writing an article on it now.

The unburnt green trees stood out to me as well. It seems that the fire went so fast it didn’t slow down to burn living trees that contain water. But why are the leaves still green??? Weird.

There are no "coincidences." Everything happens for a purpose.

Yes, there are guys in uniforms in orbit or beneath the Earth choreographing every accident, hell, every single event no matter how small. I broke a bottle of wine last night? Nope. They did.

Yeah, sometimes that purpose is being dumb and making poor decisions.

IT's the low density properties on the fringe that catch fire from grass, then it spreads to the traditional town. Then high density fuels it. Preventing rural sprawl is the answer.

Incompetence + arsonists = disaster. The incompetence of California’s “law enforcement” is an accelerant.
