You can't "pardon" someone for crimes not charged or prosecuted. This makes no legal sense and needs to be challenged in the courts.

Expand full comment

Exactly. What if, tomorrow, it's demonstrated Hunter Biden murdered someone a few years ago - how can that fall under his blanket pardon? It's absurd.

A convicted Murderer can be pardonedтАж and has been in the past.

Expand full comment

In order for a legal pardon to be issued they have to be convicted of the crime and sentenced.

This is called immunity that Joe Biden is attempting to foist off on the American people.

I am with Ron if Justice is denied the people what else is left?

Fauci is a monster and should be in prison for what he did to helpless beagles!

"I will be writing my term paper on the idea that Jesus Christ taught a message that seems to be consistent with philosophical ideas developed over the past century and a half that have come to be referred to as anarchism. I will contend that Jesus led a purely anarchistic life with the added dimension of a higher being: that of God. And I will show how it is that I have reached this conclusion by defining modern anarchism and by giving examples as to how Jesus led this anarchistic lifestyle. I will back up my statement with the help of some well-known anarchist writers."

"If there is a Christian anarchist critique of the state, is there also a Christian anarchist critique of the church?

Yes - a sometimes very bitter one at that. For a start, they are critical of the church's tendency to reassure Christians that what Jesus clearly asks of his followers is actually unrealistic and not really meant for us here and now, but only for the hereafter (as if there would be any point voicing such demands if that was the case!). For Christian anarchists, it's very disappointing that Jesus' radical political demands have been betrayed by almost all official churches and their theologians as they became more established and institutionalised."

Zazzy, a long overdue thanks to you, for helping me see anarchy and anarchists in a completely different light - a different context.

Yes, Jesus, an anarchist for sure - a revolutionary, a rebel (with a cause). Certainly, not the meek and almost effeminate images we see.

Previously I envisioned, head-banging heavy metal music adherents - violent and chaotic.

My reformed definition - which you may or may not agree with - is simply, self-governing, a man needs no other governing.

You're quite welcome, Ron...

Anarchism can be a bit tricky to philosophize sometimes and I'm unsure every self-described anarchist necessarily gets it right all the time. I guess it's like anything, like the religious not quite getting their own religion right.

For example, if one wants to be governed and government is optional, then it seems to fall under anarchy fine. Or if a group wants to do some kind of task that requires a leader, then that also falls under anarchy fine if everyone agrees with it and enters into it wilfully.

As long as whatever people decide, it is generally done of their free will.

Another example that I've read before is getting into a jet plane: If one does that, they do it with the understanding that any funny stuff and the pilot or flight attendants have the coercive power to knock you back, so to speak, into your seat.

And then there's the example of the parent yanking back a child who has just wandered into dangerous traffic before the light turns green or maybe to fetch a ball that has bounced into the street. IOW, there's ethical coercion and unethical coercion. Sometimes the two can be tricky to differentiate. Obviously the child is too young to give consent or all the time for everything, but it can be about saving the child's life and the parent having some levels of ethical coercion/control over the child.

However, the Lord doesn't say "Vengeance is exclusively mine." That, in fact, would contradict the presence of the judges of Bible times (assumed to be honest and upright, of course) who were charged with trying cases and administering earthly justice to the guilty, up to and including capital punishment.

I heard about (but have never read) an anonymous post by a lab tech about the guilt he felt for torturing a beagle. The next day he was going to go back to the lab and break the dog's leg, again. It was unbearable to him that the dog always wagged its tail when it saw him. He was the only person in its life. It needed to love someone, even if it was its tormentor/executioner.

We must be careful not to over-react. Remember that Robert Hur determined that the Big Guy did break the law by taking classified documents when he stopped being VP..... but he could not be tried because he is not mentally competent. It is my experience that people who are not oriented, people who do not know what they are doing or where they are, typically cannot sign documents or enter into contracts. How about a Presidential Pardon for a crime not yet committed.

Joe Biden issues a pardon for the assassination of ________________. And the killing happens after the pardon.

I cannot believe the U.S. Supreme Court will allow a Pardon for pre-crime, for uncharged crime, for unadjudicated crime.

BUT, Biden (his crew) is telling you one thing. Biden's entire 4 years was the Democrat Political Mob run amok.

Needs to be challenged in the courts. If it's not, or if it's upheld, it'll be a huge sign that the Washington DC "aristocracy" is just fine with lawlessness and unaccountability on their part. Stay tuned.

Right. These are not pardons but protective immunity. Can't see that as being legal. Going to be an uphill battle but should prevail or there is no justice ever again.

Expand full comment

Let's try a solution.

Challenge all the Pardons of the Biden Mob CONCURRENT with filing Criminal Charges, State and Federal, against the individual Culprits.

At least we should charge and convict them of their Crimes before they get the sleazy way out. Let them pull out the "Pardon" after conviction.

And pass immediate legislation to move Criminal/Political cases in D.C., out of DC Courts to somewhere where the jurors don't have a vested interest in dispensing O.J. Simpson justice.

WAKE UP AMERICA. You're on the last train pulling out of Last Chance station.

Maybe someone has already pointed this out, downthread (I'm still scrolling) but there have been preemptive presidential pardon precedents before apparently.

Still, though, it appears that Biden sets a historical record for the number of pardons granted. At that rate, why didn't he pardon everyone on American soil, including illegal immigrants, prisoners and Newsom?

Does this give them "liberty" to speed in school zones?...I guess congress would have to make speeding in school zones a federal infraction. Perhaps the plan was to throw yet another wrench in "the system" and keep piling on the pages of laws that Nancy Pelosi told us years ago she doesn't bother to read. That is their weakness, they don't read.
