Exactly, Lugh. I was going to note the same myself. There are very few countries worldwide that did not enforce some sort of mandate. Even Russia attempted a mandate in Moscow at one point. In Japan, where I live, it was merely social pressure that was applied, but I truly feared I would lose my teaching job and perhaps even remote work.…

In Japan, where I live, it was merely social pressure that was applied, but I truly feared I would lose my teaching job and perhaps even remote work. I know a University of Tokyo professor who was required to take the so-called vax. He balked at signing the legal release form, so the docor signed it for him.
I was warned early on about the vaxxes by a friend who had been on the UN staff. She'd seen a trend developing for a while to seek ways to reduce the global population, with some plausible deniability--and of course, we've all heard about Bill Gates' loose lips on vaccines as a means of population control.
My bellwether, a socially and physically active 83-year-old lady, driven down to the center by some officious relative, immediately went into decline and passed away 8 months later. It claimed a small percentage of friends and family worldwide and left several others disabled, whereas neither my husband nor I nor my mother nor my brother-in-law (who was injured, and his other brother died) knew anyone personally who died of COVID.
The survivors are left caring for the injured or taking on the duties of the deceased. I find more and more people too busy to respond to e-mails. One friend avoided the vaxxes for his family, but his daughter wound up with a neurological disorder due to contact with a neighbor who had been vaccinated, causing him to develop shingles.
Patricia - thanks for your comment, very well-said, parallels my personal experience. Though, I kept my family - wife and sons - out of (intentional) harm's way.
Lugh will probably remind you:

And so it goes.....as Cronkite used to say...I think it was him?....Anyway, I contracted the damned thing and just isolated in my basement for 3 weeks, so I woudn't stand a chance of affecting my elderly father. After 2 pos covid tests, the next day it was loss of smell and taste...then I hunkered down in my fortunately decent basement at the time. Worst was the headaches, going on occasionally to this day, accompanied by extreme fatigue. I stayed away from my Father that long even tho the actual symptoms were over in a week, just because I wanted to make good and goddamn sure that Dad would not catch it from me.

Astera Ditto! I was lucky and did not have the headaches, both times. Unbelievable fatigue!
