Even if NBC, CBS, CNN, The New York Times, The WashPo, and the rest of the Big News Media mafia ignore the Twitter Files story, the revolution at Twitter is going to shake their windows and rattle their walls. There will be free debate in 2023 on this social media platform. News and ideas will be set loose across the landscape, and, for the first time in years, reality will have a chance to compete with the bad faith narratives of a regime at war against its own people.
We’ll have to see how long this window remains open before the Intel Community tries to shut Twitter down, ramp up a campaign to defame it, or blow it up as a viable business. Or make a move to, shall we say, neutralize the person behind the revolution there. The more that free speech is actually permitted on Twitter, the more every other platform will look like a lame organ of propaganda, especially when it comes to issues that really matter such as the deadly consequences of the mRNA “vaccines,” the shady doings around recent US elections, the actual condition of the US economy, the perilous folly of “Joe Biden’s” war in Ukraine (and the family grifting operation that prompted it), and the evil machinations of the Intel Community itself.
In about three weeks, the Party of Chaos will be swept out of power in the US House of Representatives. Their opponents will take control of all the House committee chairs, with subpoena power to compel the testimony of public figures who have managed to avoid answering questions for years. The Big News Media may not be able to avoid reporting on it, especially with Twitter loosened up, and their lying attempts to spin events are going to look pathetic when instantly contrasted with free analysis and informed debate in the public arena.
You can’t overstate what an advantage the insidious takeover of social media gave to forces seeking to wreck the country, though the effects have barely been explored yet. The people remain bamboozled over the Covid-19 operation especially. The pandemic certainly wasn’t some random act by Mother Nature, not with US public health agencies supporting gain-of-function research on coronaviruses from Ukraine to North Carolina to Wuhan, China. And the subsequent damage caused by the government’s response to the outbreak was either an epic fiasco of inept officialdom, or something that smells like mass murder.
Dr. Anthony Fauci’s little trick so far to avoid answering questions about these matters was simply to not use the term “gain-of-function” in his correspondence arranging grants for it — especially after President Barack Obama banned that type of research by its name in 2014. So when asked about gain-of-function, he could just lie with abandon. After that simple ruse is exposed, the patent and royalty benefits enjoyed by Dr. Fauci — who doubled his net worth after 2019 — will be dragged into the light of day.
It’s doubtful that Merrick Garland’s uber-corrupt DOJ would follow-up on any referral for criminal prosecution issued by a House committee. But guess what? There are fifty states attorneys general who have standing to prosecute Dr. Fauci over injuries to their state’s citizens. It appears that Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, for one, has identified that legal avenue and this week asked Florida’s top court to convene a special grand jury to consider exactly that.
The other players in Team Covid have plenty to answer for, too. Rochelle Walensky’s CDC has deliberately concealed, misled, obfuscated, or opted to not even collect information about injuries and deaths from the Covid “vaccines.” Her agency did nothing to update the inadequate, difficult-to-use VAERS reporting system, or even communicate the very bad news that managed to land on it. The CDC is still aggressively pushing vaccines on children, knowing full well that it damages young hearts, brains, immune systems, and probably the kids’ very DNA.
Probably few would recognize the name Dr. Robert Califf in his second go-round as Commissioner of the FDA (served one year 2016-17 under Obama; confirmed again in Feb. 2022). Dr. Califf has been a tool of the pharma companies for decades. Earlier in his career as a professor at Duke University, he specialized in organizing drug trials. His operation there was supported by over $150-million in grants from pharma. Even despite Deep State control of social media prior to Elon Musk’s cleanup of Twitter, a lot was already known about the botched and faked drug trials that led to the FDA’s conditional emergency approval of Pfizer and Moderna’s mRNA Covid-19 products — along with the official suppression of existing anti-viral drugs that could have saved a million lives, which was done strictly to preserve the liability shields of the “vaccines.” A finding of fraud in all this would vitiate the Pharma companies’ protection against lawsuits, and there was fraud galore in the whole wicked business.
Others have to be called to face the new music in Congress: self-styled “humanitarian” Bill Gates, whose fingerprints are all over the Covid-19 story, from the “pandemic war game” (Event 201) he sponsored, held in the fall of 2019, to his vested interests in pharma, to his connections with the shadowy operations of the World Economic Forum and its stated population-reduction initiative. Dr. Ralph Baric of the University of North Carolina, indisputably the preeminent expert on Coronavirus gain-of-function research, and knee-deep in the Covid-19 episode — who has magically been able to hide under a rock the past three years — could shed a lot of light in public testimony on what happened. And Peter Daszak, head of the CIA cut-out org, EcoHealth Alliance, which helped enable the move of gain-of-function research to the Wuhan lab, explicitly explained years ago — in a notorious recording from a symposium — how to create profit opportunities from a pandemic response.
There are countless high officials of the deputy director and commissioner rank, unknown to the public, who could be called to testify about their agency’s contribution to the catastrophe that the Covid-19 response turned out to be. Almost all of them have been laying low since the whole thing started.
Meantime, Mr. Musk has announced that Twitter is preparing the release of all its archives containing communication with federal agencies that sought to control and suppress truthful discussion of the pandemic 2020 to 2022. He added snarkily that his personal pronouns are “prosecute / Fauci” — in case there’s any misunderstanding about what he’s learned from the files.
What’s liable to come out of this uncorking of evil spirits in 2023 is a grotesque spewage of info about official corruption and misconduct that will make the projectile vomiting from The Exorcist look like a mere Satanic loogie in comparison. You have to wonder how the nation will handle it, especially along with the extremely uncomfortable fact that “Joe Biden” still occupies the White House.

And Randi Weingarten is now acting like it was not her decision at all to keep the schools closed or kids masked up — she was just doing what the CDC told her to do. Don’t blame her! How do these people get in charge? And stay in charge? I’ll never understand that.

People like Randi draw power from the governments that allowed public employee unions to legally pick employee’s pockets whether they wanted to join the union or not.

I have every confidence that the all-purpose “Conspiracy Theory” label will be slapped on anything that comes from this and the American Sheeple will roll over and go right back to sleep, just like always. I’d like to be more optimistic – I surely would – but our track record so far has given me no reason to be that way. Maybe after a few more years of massive die-offs under more than suspicious circumstances, but even that’s a stretch. Never underestimate the power of mass media propaganda and people’s allegiance to established authority. The Exceptional Nation (TM) would NEVER do something so heinous to its own people.

Everyone starts off as a vaxxer because it’s just the wallpaper. Most people only break the conditioning when the disaster strikes them, or someone close to them.
The trickle that was obvious jab injury is becoming a stream and looks like it may well become a raging flood soon enough.
You would think the murder will do it but the sterilisation campaign will also enrage some people once they realise.
We can hope for a raging flood. I want the sort of flood that wipes away our “educational” and “healtcare systems completely. The sort of wipeout that leaves such destruction that even the foundations of the former edifices are swept away. It will have to be a flood bad enough to make rebuilding impossible. A flood so bad that the survivors all say to themselves, “let’s leave the flood plain entirely and rebuild on higher ground somewhere else”.
I am still not optimistic. There are far, far too many people who are still so brain dead to the whole thing that I do share Disaffected’s point of view. The death rates will have to continue to increase and likely some idiot celebrity needs to keel over on live television to wake some of these people up.
But what you say, Spaingaroo is also true. The message boards are showing some new awareness. I go to Yahoo to see what the normies are talking about. The recent article about the unvaccinated being likelier to get into car crashes received thousands of comments. They were universally “FOAD (fuck off and die for you acronym haters) if you think I am dumb enough to believe that.” This was very encouraging to see. But anytime someone dies that probably shouldn’t have, such as sports journalist Grant Wahl, the comments are a 50/50 food fight with half the people saying its the clot shot and half the people virtue signalling their condolences and accepting the public narrative whole cloth.
Frankly, I can’t think of anything more virtuous than saying, “I am totally pissed off that this guy died. He shouldn’t have died. And there is a coverup going on to hide the fact this worthless medical treatment also has deadly side effects. I’m speaking up because I don’t want anyone else to die, even people I disagree with politically.”
I just for the life of me can’t imagine a more virtuous sentiment than that. And yet the vaccinated just want us to shut up and take the clot shot.

Yes, it is gratifying that people who see what is going on are being allowed to know about each other more than before, and it is also good to see the number of bots pretending to take the other side has been reduced.
That article on driving was written because as the clot-shotted increasingly keel over, traffic accidents are going to go up.

The election last month changed everything with me. I no longer have faith in the common sense of the American electorate.
Biden has just about run the country’s economy aground, as we soon will witness in 2023. Everything he has done, locally and globally has been a failure. Fox has done a fairly good job of exposing the idiocy of the Mob’s platform, but the other conservative outlets are too small.

I had to escort a USAF prisoner out to the brig at Miramar NAS, CA a few years before I retired and actually had to watch one of those “bend over and say ahh” prisoner intake inspections. I was ordered to observe as a neutral party and confirm that the guard was not abusing the prisoner or planting evidence, since technically he was my prisoner until I signed him over to them. Quite the humiliating experience for all involved.

Right now I am probably halfway through seventeen books, if you count all the ebooks I have open.
But I can still remember what it felt like starting ‘The Idiot’ and realising how timeless writing works.

Yes, I am the same in regards to reading: I often over-extend my forces. Other books you can go back to if distracted, but a long Russian novel requires more sustained effort, alas.
Right now I’m re-reading Savitri Devi’s “The Lightening and the Sun”, the full version, not Pierce’s abbreviated one.
She wrote section by section so it can be read that way as well – as long as you are familiar with her theme, it all hangs together.
Have you read William Gayley Simpson’s “Which Way Western Man”? He wrote much about the madness of “work” and the difficulties of industrialism and modernism to the human spirit.
I have heard of that book many times but haven’t as yet read it, or found a copy.
I have so many to read that it’s stupid.
Still haven’t read “On Resistance to Evil, By Force” by Ilyin, even though I had to buy it in a panic.
I read Go Free; A Guide to Aligning with the Archetype of Westernkind by a guy called Jason Köhne.
Looking for it on the bookshelf (as I couldn’t remember the name) made me feel stupid, as there are so many tasks to be done. I have at least twice as many books that I haven’t read yet as those that I have.

My thoughts exactly. I live amongst some of the most highly educated people in the country, and it’s amazing to me just how stupid they are.
Reminds me of my time in Washington DC. Seemingly everyone has a master’s degree or PhD, and most couldn’t critically think their way out of a paper bag.

There is whining going on about Elon Musk’s banning of a number of *journalists, and *news sites from Twitter, but in the case of the NY Times, by their own rules about dealing in hacked documents, Elon was merely giving the same sauce to the gander that was used for the goose.
They ran a story based on hacked documents made publicly available online.
The same folks that call down Fox will be mounting an offensive against Musk. The same group of Liberal aholes that went after Trump the moment he announced in 2016.

The general trend in N. America reminds me of the phenomenon during the 1980’s where enterprises were purchased using junk bonds, their saleable assets sold off, and the empty husk of the company allowed to go bankrupt while the perps danced their way to the bank. When 401k’s came into existence I signed up and always put into it the max allowed which if memory serves was 15% of your pay at that time. Many companies also matched a certain portion of whatever you put in. My employer would match 1/2 of what you put in up to a max of 3%. Therefore if you put in 6% you would get an additional 3% free. I did this right up until I retired in Feb 2006 and then converted the 401k to an IRA. By that date I had accumulated a considerable amount and never withdrew from it until required to do so at age 70.5 in the form of RMDs (Required Minimum Distributions).
The RMD amount became taxable income on your tax return at that point. If the 401k (or IRA) owner made reasonable decisions as how to invest the money such as in diversified Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and didn’t attempt to “day trade” with the accumulated amount (which would be courting disaster) a person could do quite well. Basically, holding thru thick and thin proved to be the best strategy.
I have never had a beef with the workings of the 401k plan and I don’t understand what YOUR beef is. In what sense was the government “deluding the gullible with tales of great wealth in the by and by.?”

And of course the more nefarious purpose of of IRA’s, 401K’s and all the rest is to drive private money into the markets, thus temporarily at least bolstering their value, and even more importantly, passing the risk for collapse off onto the pension holders, who are now just average investors. The experience of the youngsters and midsters now will definitely not mirror yours. The markets are so fragile now that only wholesale liquidity injections of funny money by the Fed are keeping the whole scheme going. Rest assured, that can’t and won’t go on forever.
People in the financial industry ( a whole lot of them ) have lived high on the hog for decades. Where did those resources come from. I think basically they spent our retirement nest eggs, just like the federal government spent the social security surplus over the years.

You don’t have to invest for growth. You can invest for dividends. Also, sophisticated investors also make money on downturns. I certainly am not one of those, but I can still make modest progress without knowing any fancy/risky moves.

In addition, though, falling interest rates drove money into the markets (away from safe holding tanks such as CDs).
As for downturns, these seem to be inevitable in our current economic system. But you don’t have to get wiped out (depending on how you have invested). The safest strategy is still to invest in solid companies that pay decent dividends, hang on if there is a downturn, buy the dips. Manage your own money; don’t waste it on fees.
I don’t know a thing about bonds, but at the current time it looks like the bond markets might pose the greatest hazard to the whole system. At least, that is what Michael Hudson has said more than once. Because of low interest rates. Many pension funds and I suppose that includes 401ks are heavily invested in bonds, to provide regular income to pensioners. Now those fund don’t have the interest coming in to cover the promised payments.

Managements meet quarterly and decide whether it is appropriate to declare a dividend. There are some types of companies that investors like because they almost always pay dividends and at a higher yield % than other companies. Utilities, for example, typically pay high dividends and do so consistently.
There are two main reasons why a company may not declare a dividend payment: 1) they didn’t earn enough profits to feel comfortable about distributing those profits to shareholders or 2) management believed their profits would be better spent in growing the business. Once a company sets out on a path of paying dividends they stick with it. They do not start, stop, start, stop.
Of COURSE 401k’s do not pay dividends. They are not companies with businesses that earn profits from which dividends could be paid. Rather, they are a way to save for your retirement. You can always focus your investment choices on big dividend payers like utilities if that is your choice.

Honestly, at the age of 60, I no longer engage with such people. Time is the most precious commodity on the planet for mortal beings such as us and life is too short to waste much energy debating with total jackasses whose loyalty to ideological positions trumps everything else in life.

I’m not quite as old as Wizard of the Saddle (I’m 52), but I too am very tired of not just arguing with people who I have no chance of swaying, but also of being the only person who admits to thinking something is horribly wrong. I dropped out of two book clubs comprising over 30 women. I have always (over 10 years) been the only conservative in these two groups and I’ve taken some lumps for it over the years. But I decided I have better things to do than argue with these ladies about Biden, COVID, and the clot shots. My ladies golf league is nearly the same, over 30 women with only two other conservatives, one of whom told me she got vaccinated because it was required at the hospital where she volunteers. I still golf with them, but I’ve said all I’m going to say about the government propaganda and public gaslighting.
Instead I focused my efforts this year on my preps. It was very high stress and very exhausting but it was worth it. My and my husband’s situation is more secure. And, if nothing else, I have new learnings I can share with this group of people who actually have their eyes open to the world, even if we don’t all agree all the time.

My sister runs a clinic for children and young adults with Autism and has been doing so since the late ’90’s. She is so good at what she does that Brazil models its clinics after my sister’s and so does Vietnam.
My sister’s approach to the problem is so successful that she has been able to send many of her clients to public school and that is where the problems begin.
See, if you meet a parent that has a child with autism then you’ve probably met an anti-vaxer as I is well known in the autism community that vaccines wreak havoc on children that have autism.
Anyway, my sister will spend years working with a child such that the child is able to attend public school but public schools will not allow your child to attend unless they have some of the basic vaccines. Consequently, my sister has seen her clients lose the ability to talk, walk or even hold themselves upright after a single vaccine forced upon them by a school district. Years of work down the drain after a single common vaccine and it doesn’t take weeks but happens immediately.
The sad part of this is that everyone involved in poisoning our children has immunity against prosecution. No one can be held to account.
This is something I’ve known for decades and the public will soon find out that it really is turtles all the way down when it comes to prosecuting the people responsible. It will be impossible.

The public will continue to be a victim of the “healthcare” system until we all collectively grow set of balls and STOP going to doctors, stop taking pills, and stop with all the operations. I’ve read some powerful arguments that support the assertion that a lot of the childhood diseases declined as public sanitation became more common. Our immune system seems to be a balancing act between having just the right amount of exposure to form antibodies and be fully functional but not be overwhelmed by exposures to disease.

In all seriousness, just yesterday I was telling my mother that my prior faith in the American healthcare system and doctors in general had been irreparably shattered by the shenanigans that transpired during COVID.
I am now firmly of the opinion, that the best course for otherwise healthy people is to avoid doctors, hospitals, and pharmaceuticals as much as you can humanly manage and focus instead on an organic, healthy diet, regular exercise, and mental regimens that reduce stress.
The American medical system today treats patients like rubes and cash cows to be milked for as much cash as can possibly be extracted from both those treated and the deep pockets of the insurance companies and Medicare / Medicaid.
As our good host has so aptly put it medicine as currently practiced in the United States has simply become another big, corrupt, money-making racket.
No offense to any medical professionals here on this forum. When y’all comment, you seem to be the exceptions and to share the same view and are thus now outliers in your own profession. One wonders why any young person would go into medicine today unless they are of a completely mercenary mindset.
I think we have to be careful here. I hate the medical establishment for what it has done over the last few years, and regard most doctors as cowardly poltroons. However, my life is dependent on several key products created by the pharmaceutical industry. I’ve tried all natural alternatives and none of them have worked. Without those meds, I would almost certainly be dead. So, yes, the system is corrupt and broken, but if we can rid of scientific medicine completely, we will return to a healthcare system similar to that of the Dark Ages. Just my tuppence worth.

My late father, a physician, would be shocked and appalled. As is my brother, a happily retired physician.
But can they cause autism in the first place? That’s the Question. Many say their child was fine until they took one, or perhaps too many at one time.
They’re vaccinating infants younger and younger now and with more vaccines too. Here in Texas, an infant gets a hepatitis vaccine before they leave the hospital. A young nurse I worked with used a midwife for a home delivery to avoid this. The medical establishment has a tremendous amount of power.

Babies in the first 24 hours of their life can be in danger of getting as many shots as a 19-year old enlisted male in his prime.
One remarkable side effect noticed with the covid lockdowns early on was a sudden decrease in the death rates of children between the ages of infants to toddlers. Graphs were made of this and one could see child mortality rates going down as covid lockdown hysteria was going up. Many people have suggested and noticed that during the peak of covid craziness people weren’t taking their children to pediatricians – to get vaccinations. During peak crazy it was a pleasure to go bicycling because the hypochondriacs had all locked themselves inside and weren’t going out.
It could very well be that if the vaccinations were stopped, child mortality rates would decrease. A fact like this would go a long way to discredit our healthcare system. The last thing our medical-industrial complex would do is to study and research itself. To determine whether the industry needs to continue or needs to be abandoned because it just doesn’t work.

I absolutely implore young women to have their babies at home! There are other issues besides the vaccination of newborns. Probably the biggest issue is the very high C-section rate. The last figures I recall on this is that 30% or more of all deliveries are by C-section. This figure is scandalous. Back in the 80s, when I was having my kids at home, the C-section rate was already about 25%–and that was considered a scandal. The real need for deliveries by C-section is only about !%-2%, and probably a lot of these could be avoided by a skilled midwife.
Once you’ve had a C-section VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean) is considered more risky–though many moms opt for this anyway, with success. Once you’ve had a C-section, you will have to think very long and hard about future home birth.
Another issue that involves harm to newborns is cutting the umbilical cord immediate after birth, while a very large percentage of the baby’s blood is still in the placenta. In a home birth, the parents/midwife wait ten or twenty minutes to allow time for the blood in the placenta to pass to the infant through the umbilical cord, and then cut the cord.
Beyond these issues, you don’t really know what medical procedures your newborn is undergoing, if you have a hospital birth. The new baby is mostly kept in the nursery.
If you can’t find a midwife, or if midwifery is illegal in your state, you can have an “unassisted” home birth. (My three home births were all “unassisted.”) There is some literature advocating unassisted home birth–or was, back in the 1980s. One book that I read on this subject was Marilyn Moran’s “Birth and the Dialog of Love” (now out of print, I think), which advocated very strongly for dad’s to deliver the babies. It also contains a lot of good practical advice on sterilizing sheets and making up a bed for home delivery, when to cut the umbilical cord, and how to sterilize scissors and such. Plus there was lots of good advice about preparing and freezing a couple of days worth of meals, so the new mom would not have to cook for a couple of days. This kind of advice can also be found in many other books, such as “Special Delivery.”
Another good resource is “Emergency Childbirth,” which is a manual for police, firefighters, and similar for delivering babies in emergency conditions where doctor or hospital care is not available. Very simple, straightforward, and practical.
Back in the day, of course, most babies were delivered by female relatives. I was told that my grandmother delivered some of my aunts’ babies. As the doctor in Gone with the Wind told Scarlett O’Hara, “There’s nothing to bringing a baby.” In former times, obstetricians were scorned by other doctors, who called the “baby catchers”–since that’s about all they did.
A home birth is a WONDERFUL experience–one of life’s peak experiences, in fact. A hospital birth is usually pretty unpleasant.
Much can go wrong. Unassisted? You are brave and/or foolish.
I have no doubt you are right about the C sections though. More money, right?
The secret to easy childbirth is the “Asian squat”. Feet flat on the floor, now going up on toes which only strains the knees.
It focuses the downward flowing pranas of the body – thus the best position for defecation as well. One woman had an exchange student from India. She kept finding footprints on the toilet seat. He was squatting on it!
Anthea I agree with you completely about the importance of home birth, but I disagree about the placenta.
The blood flow through the placenta stops when it detaches from the mother (obviously), but when the baby takes its first breath, the baby’s circulation changes completely, as the lungs expand and the oxygen comes from its breathing and not from its mother. The umbilical cord is therefore unfunctional at that time, although the veins and artery are still open for a time.
Definitely cut the cord level with the infant’s heart so that you don’t drain any out of the baby, but there is no need to wait 20 minutes, imo.
SO many other reasons to give birth at home that I cringe when people go into the hospital.

People won’t spontaneously wake up. I remember being taught that crib death started killing babies at age 2 months and was peak between 2 and 6 months. I remember wondering why, if it was a defect in newborns’ breathing, that it didn’t affect babies until they were 2 months old.
Did I spontaneously connect that fact to the fact that babies got their first injections at two months old?
No, I did not. It had to be pointed out to me by others.
But now I know. And I know that they now inject newborns right after birth with hepatitis B vaccine, in case they leave the newborn nursery and go shoot up with a hooker. (Not really.) I can figure out why all by myself now, but someone else had to start me thinking.

That made it so much more useful to people like me.

The rest are subject to moments of irrationality driven by emotions and a complete failure to apply facts and logic to a given problem. There is little hope for human beings in the long haul. Too many of us still behave like “dangerously bright apes” and little more.
I know from school scores and that that I am in the 1% but I still have trouble not operating from the emotional level far too often, especially from emotions connected to females.
Logic and rational thought can take time, and in my case hard experience.

A dog can sniff a stranger’s hand and tell if he is afraid, and probably learn quite bit about the state of his health and vigor, the level of his confidence, his present hormonal dispositions, whether he is fond of dogs, and whether he recently ate a taco or petted another animal. The dog could probably tell you a lot about the animal whose meat was in the taco, and the state of mind of the fast-food worker who made the taco.

I detest the auto-correct. It butchers my stuff every time I want to post something. I am a touch typist and type pretty rapidly with reasonable accuracy. But the damnable spell-checker goes in and changes words the second the hit the space key as you race on through the sentence you are typing. I try to go back and do a quick proofread, but every editor can tell you that no one can truly proofread their own stuff. You inevitably miss something.
No solution, really, but to slow down and turn the dang thing off.

Here is how that deal went down.

Putin suggested that they remove all the remaining usable planes from an old airfield where they were storing junk planes for spare parts, and then Trump could bomb away. As part of the deal, the US could steal all of the oil in the Kurdish regions of Syria and keep their bases there as long as they kept the Kurds pacified. Russia could keep their air superiority over most of the country and neither party would engage with the other.
An unanticipated “win” for Russia was that they got to use the +- 20 Patriot missiles that were fired during the staged conflict as target practice. Since only one Patriot got through they were pleased to learn that even their early generation air defense systems were more than a match for the much ballyhooed Patriots.

It would be of great value to build up the states that are already most firmly conservative, which would likely have the effect of moving some of the leftist debris out of those states.
But there are a number of other states that are decidedly red in all the small towns and rural areas, but blue in their ruinous cities. One of these states is Maine, where Portland (still a small city) is actively trying to destroy the rest of the state. It doesn’t seem impossibly difficult to redeem this and other states with a similar makeup; they’re teetering on the edge and could go either way. Saving them would make a great difference, if we could devise a way . . .

My father in law just passed about three weeks ago. A lifetime of smoking and drinking yet made it to 97.
The point I want to make is his death certificate was written I believe correctly.

COPD from excessive smoking lifetime
Acute respiratory failure exacerbated by a bout of Covid about three weeks prior.
His care taker stated he never recovered from the virus attack with his conditioning getting worse during the three weeks.
The man died from COPD, he had so little lung capacity left, he couldn’t get past the Covid decline.
People do not die from Covid.
Particularly when no one can show us what Covid is.

I am wondering how many people have read Peter Zeihan, “The end of the world is just the beginning”, and what they think of it. It has similarities with Kunstler’s idea of ‘long emergency’, and yet is different in other ways.

To me this is a weakness of the book, in that he spends very little time developing why this should occur, to the degree he thinks it will. He says: population implosion in much of the world dooms very many countries, and the end of the US as the world’s policeman securing world trade will lead to intercontinental trade dying. I don’t disagree completely, but there is quite a stretch between a slowdown and the total collapse he describes.

But this time, it was obvious that some local govts were profiting personally by abusing lockdown and mass testing, centralised isolation, positive test results. Common sense will tell you how they made huge sums of money there.
Explain how people under lockdown confined to their homes for 10 days can test positive. That’s a clear giveaway on abusing test results. And the large numbers of “abnormal” results requiring further tests.
Over last 2 years these didn’t happen. But suddenly this time they do. Clearly there’s a huge scam going on.
Now nobody trust the test results anymore.
Remember the state pays for everything. It’s trillions RMB every year and some people finally wised up to suck the flow because they don’t have to itemise the bills to Beijing.
Yes in the past there were illegal locking people in their homes but back then it was not so widespread as what happened recently. There was simply no clear reasons to do so in my estate. No reason to suddenly move hundreds of the building residents into centralised isolation just because of 1 infected case on the very top floor of the building. Suddenly we were all classified as “Close contact” like we personally shook hands with the infected person. The municipal govts also shut down supermarkets and wholesale food centers. Those are again what Beijing said cannot do.
Remember state pays for everyone on centralised isolation. About RMB¥3,500 per head. Remember there’s such a thing as kickbacks.
It was very obvious some officials were abusing lockdowns, mass testing, centralised isolation, fake positives, to make money from the state.
That’s why the huge public anger. And then Beijing put their foot down and issued the 20 Optimised Measures. People took it and protested against their local govts.
Our lockdown was silently lifted on Monday even though today our municipal govt has not issued a formal notice of lifting.
So the huge protests were only recent because of clear abuses by the municipal govts, and today have largely died down as lockdowns care lifted everywhere.

Yet, according to him, North America is going to be the best place to be.

BRIEFLY, it states that 1) many in the senate and house engaged in a major constitutional violation (for which they do NOT have immunity) by NOT competently investigating the complaints and rumors of mendacity in the 2020 election and 2) casually and flippantly certified it. The trial starts on, guess when, Jan 6, 2023, and if the complaint is accepted by 4 SCOTUS justices, it will vacate the current offices of over 150 house reps, over 50 senators, and the fake pres and vp and force new elections within 90 days. The required initial response of the defendants (i.e. in the house and senate) within the 15 day notice period was a shocking, ‘no contest.’ This is no joke and definitely not a hoax. Check out the SCOTUS docket number above and the website of the plaintiff lawyers, sevendiscoveries.com. The plaintiffs are four brothers, the Brunsons, who are all constitutional expert attorneys.

The city of Berlin required the hotel reduce the ambient temperature of the hotel lobby to save on energy due to sanctions. Its been abnormally cold in Berlin the past few nights dipping down to -11°C last night and -12°C the night before that. There is no law against using a title for a book that has already been used for another book. Especially if the expression already exists anyhow.
So to me it makes sense that a Google search for the main title alone would get hits for the young adult book and for the expression. You would have to add the subtitle to get your target book.

Stumbled across a Netflix documentary last night called “Don’t Pick Up the Phone,” about a hoax caller to fast food joints all over the country back in the early 2000’s. Details here:

The guy – a local FL corrections officer – was calling fast food joints all over the country from Panama City, FL posing as a local cop and talking the managers into doing all sorts of unspeakable things to a random female employee using very general descriptions, who he would accuse of stealing. He gave them the option of complying with a strip search right there over the phone or coming down to the station, so the managers and victims all complied to do it right in the manager’s office following his commands over the phone. It mirrored the famed “Milgram Experiments,” in that it was simply amazing the things he could get these people to submit to just by posing as an anonymous authority over the phone. Over 70 cases spread over 10 years. The caller was eventually prosecuted in KY and acquitted for lack of direct evidence, but the calls stopped immediately upon his arrest. The featured victim in the video eventually sued McDonald’s in the same jurisdiction and won $6.1M. A real head scratcher, as it seemed that everyone involved shared some of the guilt in the whole affair, not least of which were the managers and the victims themselves, who were so naïve to go along with the whole thing and not just hang up in the first place.
I was also puzzled why the FBI wasn’t brought in on this, as early on it was revealed to be an interstate crime, and should have been prosecuted in federal courts.
I’d say the FBI was too busy protecting the criminal class to bother themselves with essentially just a pervert.

The price of a gallon of gas has not changed much over the years. Adjusted for inflation. $3.40/1930, $3,72/1940,$3.31/1950, $3.04 /1960, $2.70/1970, $4.25/1980,$2.58/1990,$2.55/2000, $3.70/2010,$2.45/ 2020(Covid), today in my town down the street $2.95. Today’s cars are 2-3 times more efficient than those dinosaurs in the 50’s-60’s.
Well Stelmo, cars today don’t have 4 barrel carburetors bolted on, and they aren’t pushing out 400 bhp.
BRH, a decent Ford Explorer with a 3 liter (183 Cubic inches) is pushing 400 HP and 415 lb/ft torque. Probably much faster than most of the muscle cars plus it gets 28 miles to the gallons compared to 8or10.

The Explorer only makes those numbers with a turbo, which adds a lot of complex plumbing and an additional heat burden on the cooling system.
I’m not against turbos, I drive a turbo’d car myself, but we must recognize their limitations and realize there is no free lunch.
The really neat engine in Ford’s lineup is the twin-turbo 2.7L V6, which turns the Edge Sport into a real sleeper.
They should drop the 2.7L into the Mustang, but they won’t because it would easily outperform the Coyote 5.0L V8, which is an excellent motor in its own right.
That is called inflation and has nothing to do with a lack of supply.
Short-term supply crunches do affect pricing, but short-term crunches are not from a lack of the ability to access oil. These sorts of increase are typically due to political turmoil, or OPEC greed.

The 440 was a wedge motor, by the way. Most considered it superior to the much more rare, expensive, large, and heavy 426 Hemi for street use, as the Hemi was designed primarily for high RPM NASCAR use, while the 440 wedge was much more torquey down low, which is where most street races are won or lost.
I foolishly leased a 2017 Dodge Hellcat (6.2L, 378 CID, 707HP, 650 ft/lb torque) Challenger a few years back for two years. Biggest waste of money in my entire life! The horsepower was mostly useless for lack of traction under the best of conditions, and what was usable was downright dangerous, as the car was squirrely as hell under anything close to full throttle and totally undrivable altogether in the winter. Wore out a set of tires and brakes in under 10K miles. I was so glad to get rid of that beast!
Dis, My Dad had a retired police car a 1970-71 I think Ford Galaxie with the Ford 429 “semi-hemi” also used in the Mustang Boss 429 Scary fast for a new driver like myself. It was Black with a white roof and still had the pillar spot light on it. From the wiki:

New M5 has over 600. I test drove one for shits and giggles before buying a 540i. Even in the 540, with a set of 275s on the rear and AWD, I could easily do burn outs or get some squiggles when booting it round corners.
The M5 would have been pointless with RWD only outside of high-speed runs on the Autobahn.

stelmos: Yes, the Boss 429 was quite an engine and an original Boss 429 in top shape and fully restored will easily bring you high 6 figures (at least) at auction these days.
NO: Yes, the horsepower wars have yielded incredible gains in the past few years, as the ICE engine reaches it’s full potential with modern computerization controlling ignition events and allowing super high compression ratios.
But I knew the Hellcat was less than useless when the Tesla’s first got popular, though. Not much range (for either car), but for instant acceleration around town, it was simply no contest. The Hellcat for all its bluster and curb appeal, couldn’t get out of its own way in comparison. Shoot, even a lowly Prius could beat it for 30 ft under normal driving conditions where less than perfect traction is the norm.
The Hellcat really was a Boomer car, cashing in on our nostalgia for the “good ol’ days.” Most of the current day kids I know thought it was ridiculous, and I think they were right in their assessment. Its best use was sitting in the driveway as a “trophy car,” which is how most of its buyers actually used it.
Interesting on the Hellcat. I always wondered what they drove like given the insane level of power.

On the OPD, we, in Special Duty, drove 65-66 Plymouth Belvederes…four door, unmarked. Engine was a 318 with, as I recall, a two barrel carb. They were essentially fleet vehicles. Usual top speed was approximately 95 miles per hour. Chased more than a few 442’s and GTOs…never lost a contest.
NO: When I went to sell the Hellcat (I could either sell it outright and pay off the lease, trade it in, or turn it in at the end of the lease period, with the last option likely being the worst) I found out the hard way like a lot of guys just like me that the market was flooded with low mileage cars like mine that the owners were getting rid of for similar reasons. I ended up trading it in for a Mazda CX-5, as that was likely the best deal I was going to get. Haven’t looked back since, as I rarely drive 5K miles a year anyway (still under 10K on a 2019 model). The Mazda is plenty peppy around town and infinitely more practical to boot, not to mention I no longer have a dayglow target painted on my back driving that monster Hellcat.

Yeah, we don’t drive much either (about 10k kms a year), but given the quality of the B-roads here, the unlimited sections on the Autobahns and my love of driving, I still need something reasonably performance oriented.

Yeah. There are sections that are unlimited, though they are fewer now than when I first moved here.
Fastest I have gone is about 240. My faster cars have all been limited to 250 (C63, 540i).
If you own something really crazy, it is possible to get the limiter raised from the factory to 270 or even 300 for something like a Lamborghini.
I can’t really imagine going over 250 on a public road though. It is relatively safe when clear, but if a tire blows, or something unexpected happens at those speeds (a Dacia pulling out in front of you), then you are in deep shit.
Took me a while to learn to judge braking distances when bombing down the left lane. I won’t buy any car that doesn’t have an M-sport or AMG-level (or equivalent) braking system now. T
Those numbers are, ofc, in km/h. And I should mention that most of the time in the city, I put around in eco-pro mode as 103 octane gas costs an arm and a leg. 🙂

My daughter has (I think) twenty-four hens, and she gives me more eggs than I can eat. She recently gave four dozen eggs to her in-laws’ family. But the cost of feed has gone up, and I don’t know what her costs are. We both have frozen and water-glassed eggs set aside, as we expected the hens to stop laying during the winter. (So far, they’re still going strong.) I have just about lost my taste for eggs, though I used to have eggs for breakfast every day.
Last spring, before my daughter bought all those hens, I used to buy the Fit Hen brand of eggs from Walmart. They are as good as my daughter’s eggs, and they were $4 a dozen.

I have some that I bought for external use for arthritis, but most directions make a big fuss about absolute cleanliness, as DMSO is commonly used for transdermal delivery of drugs. The idea is that any contaminants on the skin will wind up in the bloodstream. They even tell you not to put your clothes back on until the DMSO application has dried (about 20 minutes).

This corresponds with my own half assed Climate Change research, which consists of looking for evidence of sea level rise at coastal areas I’ve been visiting for decades (and finding no evidence of sea level rise)
Often times when l hear polar ice is melting I’ll check temps in the Arctic & Antarctic. Typically, the temp at the South Pole Weather Station will be about -75°F, and the North Pole -20°F. The North is always warmer for some reason, but still plenty cold. I suspect in Antartica the video of glaciers crashing into the sea — a staple of Climate Change Agit/Prop along with stranded Polar Bears — is the result of underwater volcanic activity in the southern oceans.

But the ice is 9.000 ft thick! so much higher= much colder. Where I sit the ice was a mile thick just a few years ago in geological terms. I’ll take a couple degrees warmer instead of that.
Also, there is no land at all under the Arctic ice sheet.
Except at the edges where it includes the northerly edges of continents, and Greenland.

You may have something here. Not just at the edges of the ice zones either. Increasing volcanic activity at depth may be heating the oceans in total, causing ice flow erosion at the poles. Mauna Loa erupting, eruptions in Iceland may be indicators that the mid ocean ridges and hot spots are heating up.

Neanderthals? Scientists have been spending years rooting around in debris left at ancient caveman sites, including Neanderthals. One thing they did notice is that no remains or any other evidence of wolf/dogs were found at Neanderthal sites, apparently this subspecies of human never used dogs for hunting game. Homo sapien sites have lots of evidence of dogs being around in those settlements. Some scientists speculate that homo sapiens survived because they teamed up with domesticated dogs and thus canines and humans became very successful in hunting. Neanderthals may have vanished because they had no hunting dogs. If true, it’s amazing that humans are so unthankful for help in surviving. Instead, we treat canines as dogs. We kill dogs and still abuse them, and consider them our inferiors. In terms of sheer character and loyalty, dogs are way ahead of humans.
Teamed up with “domesticated dogs”? We created dogs by domesticating wolves.

Think of all the infrastructure improvements that money could have bought if poured into the real economy though. You put money in a 401k yourself. You invested it in mutual funds. The stock market had a big setback and your 401k went down with it. You bailed out of the mutual funds right when the markets hit bottom and began to rise. You were scared to get back in until “the goddamn market” had recovered all it had lost and then some. So you got back in at a new high point. In other words you sold low and bought high. The name for this common phenomenon is “you were whipsawed.”
Look at stock market returns since 1978, which was just prior to St Ronnie and the financialization of everything and not long after the US reneging on the gold standard, Q. If you were twenty something again you would likely be shit out of luck when you reached your current age once again (assuming you could even find a job and have enough money to invest in the first place). That’s because it is not a regular savings account. The “deposits” are tax-deferred. IOW the income is sheltered from income tax if it is deposited in an IRA. Any growth in the account, whether from interest, dividends, or capital gains, is also sheltered from income tax.
At least, that is the logic of IRAs. But if the money ever is distributed by the custodian and not to another custodian, the account holder will have to pay tax on the money.
I odn’t think the system is predicated on continued *exponential* expansion, as I tink Disaffected said, but it is predicated on expansion, which means bonds etc. constantly being issued, paying interest, and then being paid off. Zero to negative interest rates completely nullify that premise. As we are finding out with the current pension crisis.

Let me give you another possibility that may give ivermectin positive curative action.
When I went through my Covid experience, the respiratory part was minimal, gone in three days. Fatigue about 21/2 weeks. But GI also for 21/2 weeks. Little nausea, bloating, loose off smell stool, sorry for that but it was a clue. I wonder if Ivermection, removing parasites in horses might not be blocking the virus from getting into the GI.
I have seen that a tie in between the virus “hiding” in the GI might be a cause of Long Term Covid.
I did not use Ivermectin, instead treating with probiotic for ten days.
