As long as sexual hysteria is the order of the day, there was juicy item stowed on the back blue pages of The New York Times this morning. They report that actor Jeffrey Tambor is leaving the title role in Amazon’s hit TV series Transparent after two women on the set accused him of sexual misconduct.

One was “actress” Trace Lysette (notice The Times reverting to the antiquated gendered term when the new correct mode is to use “actor” for all on-camera persons). The other victim was Mr. Tambor’s on-set assistant, Van Barnes.

“My back was against the wall in a corner as Jeffrey approached me,” Ms. Lysette said in her statement on Thursday. “He came in close, put his bare feet on top of mine so I could not move, leaned his body against me and began quick, discreet thrusts back and forth against my body. I felt his penis on my hip through his thin pajamas, and I pushed him off of me.”

Mr. Tambor was only accused of “groping” Van Barnes. We’re informed near the end of the story that both victims are transgender women, that is, men who went through some kind of medical procedure to present as women.

Hollywood was especially proud of the transgressive series for pioneering TV programming into the new frontier of transsexual manners and mores, something America really needed to know about. The show was showered with awards. Its creator, Jill Soloway — who “identifies as non-binary,” and refers to herself with the pronoun “they” in their relations with the media — has said that they hope to use the series to explore ideas of gender identity through a “wounded father being replaced by a blossoming femininity.”

Well, I guess that sort of does say it all about the fundamental state of American culture these days. We are living in the land of the wounded father. The nature of his wound is not quite specified, but if one were to guess, one might venture that something happened to his testicles. Cut off? Shot off? Industrial accident? We’re not informed. But the remedy for that misfortune is to turn into a woman, or at least act like one.

An interesting angle on all this from, say, a zeitgeist point of view, is that the archetypal father is not missed. Society does not need him. Rather we need him to go through the mystical passage to become a tragic-comic mother figure, a harmless old vessel full of rueful wisdom and comic relief. Of course that is the message that has been coming through loud and clear in the cultural scripts of recent days, with all the carping about cis-gender white folks (i.e. men) being responsible for all the woes of humanity.

My own meta-take on this whole business is that the archetypal father is secretly rather sorely missed in the USA. The mental inversions of the Progressive intelligentsia tell me that, deep down, the Left is in a state of deranged anguish over it. Trump has inflamed them especially because he fills the role of national father so badly for them with his vulgar incoherence. Nothing he does reassures anybody. They are desperate to shove him off-stage. He only reminds them how badly they miss a real and proper daddy. And their rage about it prompts them to destroy anybody else who reminds them of a bad daddy, by any means necessary — sexual misbehavior being a very convenient means in a culture that celebrates its lack of boundaries.

Lately, male authority in America has gone along with this script, perhaps (I have to guess) because they have screwed up public affairs so royally — especially the financial management of the national household — and they are deeply ashamed. So they have been willing to submit, at least, to a certain amount of symbolic castration to avoid having to act differently, or actually accomplish anything on the nation’s pretty long to-do list.

This psychodrama is not going to continue indefinitely. At some point the men in this country who are not Trump are going to rediscover that they have a purpose and even an obligation to act like men. But it will be interesting to see how the Transparent TV show continues into Season Four minus the character that is its reason to exist. The fact that the producers seem to think they can just carry on as if nothing happened tells us a lot about the delusional thinking of Hollywood.

Can someone help me figure out which public bathroom to use? I don’t want to offend anyone. But, I do have to pee.

    😉

    • K-Dog November 20, 2017 at 10:14 am #

If you don’t know that is really not my problem but do you have an urge to lift you leg or squat? I am trying to help.

When humans return to the struggle of finding their 1800 calories each day, there won’t be time for all the PC bullshit currently cluttering up our lives.

        • Elrond Hubbard November 21, 2017 at 2:30 pm #

This is nothing to look forward to. If and when this happens, the PC bullshit bathwater is likely to be accompanied by a whole lotta baby. You know, things like legal rights, due process, and the possibility of not having to live in a bombed-out shithole. Yugoslavia, Rwanda, you name it — these places went to hell because tribalism took hold, and tribalism took hold because the economy tanked.

Dr. Johnson said, “He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.” Vice versa works too: he who begrudges the effort of being civilized often yearns for barbarity.

    • pequiste November 20, 2017 at 10:30 am #

At the rate we are going, in our fetid and festering Western Civilization, I won’t be surprised if one day soon, an adult human will wake up one morning, identify as Canis lupus familiaris, and later in the day utilize a fire hydrant to take that urgent piss.

      • K-Dog November 20, 2017 at 10:49 am #

It’s already happening here in Portland. The homeless regularly piss and take a dump in public, in broad daylight and full view of passers-by. You’d think we live in a third-world country. Maybe not canine, but it’s certainly an indication of the fall of our society.

        • Cavepainter November 21, 2017 at 7:24 am #

Yes, and Portland (you know, “Keep Portland Weird”) prides itself for it bearing the illusion that it signals (as in “virtue signalling”) how compassionate is the city population. The simple truth though is that swept away have been all of what once were the consensus norms about public decency, leaving without clear guidelines those of lower social functioning skills. Now though the Left is exploiting that population as shock troops in contending their condition to be case for more government intervention in managing society general..

    • Anon1970 November 20, 2017 at 1:46 pm #

When you reach your 60’s, your biggest problem may be just finding a public bathroom that is still open. In my area, public bathrooms in underground subway stations were all closed after 9/11 and never re-opened.

    • PeteAtomic November 20, 2017 at 3:31 pm #

LOL, go behind that tree over there. It won’t matter if you stand or squat.

    • Bill November 20, 2017 at 6:26 pm #

That is why God invented trees. Humans lived for millions of years with trees. It is sad that we make such a big deal of something that we should just leave to nature.

    Good essay.
    SAD.
    Me too.

That is also where we are. Good luck, everyone. It isn’t likely to improve, imho. But hey, for all you USAers, Black Friday is just a few days away. Go shopping and save the economy.

Maybe he does if you have a poor enough memory.

In terms of his performance as a “man,” and his father-ness and his husband-ness, it is curious how nobody acknowledges 8 years of President Obama’s example in this regard.

At least if he wasn’t perfect in this regard, so far at least he’s kept his sins of this sort under wraps. I think in some ways, perhaps, he set the bar too damn high with his seemingly effortless fatherhood skills and his treating his wife as an equal (GASP!) partner in that whole family endeavor.

Perhaps Bill Clinton (and HRC, for that matter) cast too long a shadow in terms of family values… I’m not sure.

          • Bruce E November 20, 2017 at 12:39 pm #

First of all, benr, I was speaking of Obama and not Clinton (in fact I acknowledged that Bill Clinton’s legacy is problematic specifically in regards to the “family values” of a President as exhibited by what they did while in office).

Second of all, I was speaking specifically of the 8 years from 2009 until 2017 when Obama was performing his role as President and father/husband-in-chief, not to some hypothetical time in the past where he may or may not have been less than perfect.

You can’t even get Trump to apologize for telling Howard Stern (on the radio, for everyone to hear) he’d bang his own daughter if she wasn’t related…

          • malthuss November 20, 2017 at 3:38 pm #

So anything you hear on Howard Stern is to be believed no matter what?

You don’t understand locker room talk but will ignore anything from your side of the political aisle?
Meanwhile the sexual abuse and pedophilia from the left is to be ignored huh?

          • benr November 21, 2017 at 9:24 pm #

Obama was an abject failure in almost every regard you care to name and yes I know all the talking points de jour about Obama pro and con but while he was President I watched the cost of most everything begin to spike.
He just added on to the pile of debt from George W.
Worse he went on apology tours berating my country!
He insulted the American right, white people in general and the Supreme court!
He caused an even greater divide with his beer summit and injected even more racial animus into politics and everyday life!

        • Elrond Hubbard November 20, 2017 at 11:02 am #

Bruce E: “it is curious how nobody acknowledges 8 years of President Obama’s example” (as a husband and father).

I share your opinion, Bruce E, and actually lots of other people in public and in the media acknowledge that the Obamas set a fine example as a family. Unfortunately, slanders get spread about them as well, and what those slanders lack in validity they make up in wanton viciousness. (See just above, for example.)

          • benr November 20, 2017 at 11:20 am #

Or the truth is just that hard for some to believe.
And yet I would bet a weeks pay you believe Trump actually had women pissing on him in Russia!
In fact anyone on the side you feel is the enemy no untruth how ever large is probably believed and spread with Gusto.

          • CancelMyCard November 20, 2017 at 12:12 pm #

            @benr

“In fact anyone on the side you feel is the enemy no untruth how ever large is probably believed and spread with Gusto.”

And you have magnificently provided yourself as a primo example of same.

          • Bruce E November 20, 2017 at 12:50 pm #

I think somehow they must find a way to believe that President Obama is just as much a failure as a husband and a father as is the current occupant of the White House, who has stated publicly he wants to bed his own daughter were it not for the taboo against doing so. (Trump doesn’t seem to understand it’s almost as bad to admit out loud you think of your own daughter in those terms as it is to actually act on those sorts of impulses.)

Whatever might have been going on behind the scenes, or in the past, the example of the First Family was publicly pristine for the whole of 8 years. W was largely okay in this regard but perhaps was plagued by inconvenient timing, I think, of his daughters hitting a challenging time in their young adult lives, which is what Obama’s oldest daughter just started as he left office. Clinton was obviously a failure as a husband, and in a way as a father as well because of the example both Bill and Hillary set as a healthy/happy married couple towards their daughter, which is critical to teaching our children what healthy relationships are in a normal way of thinking about these things in terms of role-models.

He doesn’t know how work the “levers of power” and isn’t really a very good negotiator because he has a compliant congress. The only reason he doesn’t have everything in his agenda is Donald R. Trump.

      • capt spaulding November 20, 2017 at 2:03 pm #

You’re right Elrond. He was an idiot, in the first place, and, along with the Republican party, was instrumental in coming close to destroying the country. Cut taxes and deregulate, remember that? Well here we are again, hearing the same old shit, and gearing up to repeat the same mistakes. Now here we are with Donald Trump at the helm. Thank you red states, you are living up to my opinion of you. The definition of madness is repeating the same thing over again, and expecting a different result. If you can’t add up what cutting taxes and deregulation did the last time, then you’ve got no business on this website. You also deserve the shit that is gonna happen to you.

      • Janos Skorenzy November 22, 2017 at 3:23 am #

Yes W was as quiet as mouse for the eight years of Obama’s presidency. Yet he can’t stand Trump. What does that tell you?

    • shotho November 20, 2017 at 10:03 am #

Do you mean the thug who threw the nation into the Mideast cauldron, leaving us to smolder there for the last fourteen years?
And, by the way, spent us into oblivion with mindless redistributive programs like No Child Left Behind, Homeland Security and Medicare Part D?

Using the IRS to crush Conservative organizations, gun running to Mexico in order to indict the American gun industry with a view towards banning the 2nd Amendment, the Children’s Crusade of 800,000 minors – some in their 20’s – being brought into America as revenge after he didn’t get his Amnesty. Bus drivers were advertised for months in advance. It didn’t just “happen”.

Each of these was far more serious than Watergate. Why? Because they were actions against the American People and Nation and not just against the other Party. Yet the Mainstream Media had to be basically forced to cover it at all. Bernstein, the hero of Watergate was no better. In the end, he was just a Democratic Hack just like Cronkite and all the rest.

W did nothing of consequence during his occupancy of the White House.

Cheney ran that administration completely . . . top to bottom and sideways.

      • Ol' Scratch November 20, 2017 at 1:41 pm #

        W. is a very talented politician and a military commander, thanks to such people as W. we still have a chance to avoid nuclear war between US and Russia.

And somebody say thank you to Bush Jr for saving US financial system in 2001 after Clinton’s madness of the printing press.

LOL! Thanks for the comedic relief first thing in the morning Finca. W was a lot of things, but “military commander” and “competent financial decider” were most certainly not part of them. His job was to lend the family name (and thus “gravitas,” if you can imagine that!) to the GOP theft and war operation, which he did exceedingly well. The Dark Master Cheney and his wide circle of acolytes were the actual “brains” behind the operation, with Bush simply playing a cameo part for the MSM, a role he was bred for his entire life.

Yes, Obama took all that to new heights of absurdity in the aftermath with all his grandiloquent bullshit rhetoric (the role he was bred for!) and the idea that he was any significant way an actual “black man,” but let’s not confuse the issue and make W out to be something he was not.

W was nothing more than a spoiled little rich kid playing a role assigned to him by powers he could never possibly understand, and he performed it very well. I have no doubt that he was even kept in the dark on 9-11, as even though many in his his extended family were key players in the plot, he was simply too stupid to trust with a secret like that. All of which lent his presidential actions in the aftermath that much greater credibility.

      • capt spaulding November 20, 2017 at 2:07 pm #

Say what you want Fincain. The fact that you still think that “W” was that wonderful means one of two things, either you are too commited to that outlook to change now, or you are actually that unaware. Either way, you deserve what is coming down the pike.

      • Janos Skorenzy November 20, 2017 at 2:51 pm #

Well he’s offered us the nutshell, why not use it? Underneath all the endless religious rambling and his color projects (shades of Soros), Finc is a Russian Neo Con. But they hate the Russians and the Russian them, you object. Yes, but Finc isn’t Russian, he’s Tribe – just like the inner party of the Neo Cons. Thus all contradictions are smoothed out. In other words, he’s not For either the Russian or American Nation. So what is he for? His Nation, Greater Israel.

The current economy can’t be saved. However, it can change into a form that works to better serve its participants. Mainly that involves making things close to where they are sold and used, otherwise commerce becomes a process of extracting local wealth for the benefit of strangers, while wasting fantastic amounts of valuable energy.

I’m documenting my individual battle for economic sanity in the US here: https://americareforged.blogspot.com/2017/11/repairing-us-economy-starts-at-home.html?m=1

I hope others will join me.

While I did not vote for President Bush, I will always be most grateful to President Bush and the First Lady for establishing the world’s largest marine protected area — a group of remote Hawaiian islands that cover 84 million acres and are home to 7,000 species of birds, fish and marine mammals, at least a quarter of which are unique to Hawaii. This amazing gift served as a model for other nations, including France and the UK, to emulate thereby amplifying the benefits for all the world.

May position is that these issues are an indication of how wealthy and peaceful a society we have at this moment because if the long emergency had progressed far enough to where we had to grow our own food to keep 1500 calories a day we wouldn’t have time to contemplate our sexuality.

So just what would men act like now if they were to be acting like “men”? I’m guessing they would not be evidencing gender confusion. I’d hope they were dressing like men whatever that meant but definitely not walking around in their jammie bottoms outside nor with their pants halfway to their ankles and their undies showing.

I’d hope they’d not be fathering any children they didn’t plan on supporting to adult-hood. Hopefully they’d be working at real jobs and not just hanging out playing video games.

What else would they be doing? Would it be too much to ask that they respect the right of women to say no? Would it be too much to expect that they refrain from sexually assaulting women? How about real men refraining from domestic violence? Let’s add in refraining from mass murders of innocents just because they were ticked at the world or thought Allah wanted them to do this?

Thank you…we need more people who see themselves as victims in this country. If you are black…that would be a twofer!

Reparations! 40 acres and a mule! Hyman reconstruction for all women that can conjure up a complaint…however old and vague the incident…And ladies, don’t forget the men…anal sphincter reconstruction also should be provided free to any man or woman who can prove they were in prison!

What is sexual violence? How was the study conducted? Does it make you feel all warm and fuzzy…your distaste for men in general vindicated?

I have been married to the same man for 41 years. He is a wonderful person whom I respect dearly. My brother is a wonderful person whom I respect dearly. I have male friends for thirty years who are like family to me.

Go talk to law enforcement about these statistics. I didn’t make them up.

        • JustSaying November 21, 2017 at 6:59 am #

The number of American troops killed in Afghanistan between 2001 to 2017 – 1,833. The number of women killed by men in the US in only one of those years, 2015 – 1,686.

Homicide is the leading cause of female death in the workplace.

Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women, more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. In one day during September, 2013, 66,581 victims were served at domestic violence centers in the U.S., and 36,348 domestic violence victims (19,431 children and 16,917 adults) found refuge in emergency shelters or transitional housing provided by local domestic violence programs.

Sexual assaults by men is the preferred method of torture when targeting women and children. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, in the United States, approximately 20 million out of 112 million women (18%) in the United States have been raped during their lifetime. Only 16% of all rapes were reported to law enforcement.

These are facts – not my “distaste” for men.

Only 16% of all rapes were reported to law enforcement.- JustSaying

            ==============

So who did the other 84% report to? And how do you know these were legitimate rapes if no one was tried and convicted? These sound like accusations told by one woman to her best bud.

          • JustSaying November 21, 2017 at 1:18 pm #

15 of 16 Rapists Will Walk Free. 61% of rapes/sexual assaults are not reported to the police. Those rapists, of course, never serve a day in prison.

If the rape is reported to police, there is a 50.8% chance that an arrest will be made. If an arrest is made, there is an 80% chance of prosecution. If there is a prosecution, there is a 58% chance of a felony conviction.

If there is a felony conviction, there is a 69% chance the convict will spend time in jail. So, even in those 39% of rapes that are reported to police, there is only a 16.3% chance the rapist will end up in prison.

Factoring in unreported rapes, about 6% – 1 out of 16 – of rapists will ever spend a day in jail. 15 out of 16 will walk free.

(Probability statistics compiled by NCPA from US Department of Justice statistics. See http://www.ncpa.org/studies/s229/s229.html)

As a non-confused, propagating male member of the species I can honestly say check, check, check, check, ….

However, MG the above statement amounts to ad hominem statements which I, and probably +90% of the guilty until proven innocent males find abhorrently and dangerously offensive. It manifests itself when parents look at you suspiciously because you are a lone male in the park. Never mind that I am there with my own kids.

For me it started with marriage counseling. The sociological neutered male counselor didn’t help things either with the politically correct tripe about how I wasn’t sensitive enough to my wife’s outburst of tears. Didn’t anyone ever stop to ascertain her outbursts were frequent and unwarranted like a child throwing temper tantrums. That perhaps the counseling should have been “grow up” for my ex-spouse.

I grew up in a mans’ house and we did men things. I still cooked, cleaned, did my own laundry, and cleaned the hair from the sink. But a cry from weakness was usually rewarded with a good smack. Where as, a cry for real reasons of both physical and emotional pain were rewarded with compassion. That’s what men do.

When we go “antiquing”, (I share Fraser’s reluctance to do anything that transforms a noun into a verb), we do it out of companionship and sometimes to preserve a sense of legacy. Although we can appreciate the effort and skill going into lacy doily things, we tend to still find them awful.

As been stated many times by others, expecting males to ignore 100,000 years of evolution and behave as metrosexuals is ignorance at its foremost. Somehow women don’t seem to mind when my instincts to protect and defend to the death kick in. (One past friend started calling a Silverback). That’s what we are.

To use the same mechanism of logic: Because women now have access to The Pill or other means of contraception does that mean they stop menstruating?

Neither situation is applicable or really possible. What is going on are the manifestations of excessive population. There is not “enough room” for the natural behaviours of the human species. As with the rat population experiments, we start to increase anxiety, stress, and unnecessary violent actions. On the plus side, compassion and non-familial bonds tend to increase, (amateur sociologist time – I apologize).

A few overexposed, personality denuded characters does not define us.

You see what you just did MG is called Man shaming – and it doesn’t work anymore. Your calls to “Man Up” and simply fatuous unless and until you begin to reform yourself – which you will never do as you are followers. Men are going have to overthrow the current inhuman system which is bad for both sexes, but particularly men. And then we will make you beautiful again….

There’s something bizarre about a former sex worker complaining about being groped. Reasons for it complaining are murky and nything but transparent. Is this only a ‘cheap’ thrill? Would it be different if Tambor paid? That I may not have to see Tambor on Transparent anymore should I walk by Mrs. Dog watching TV is not cheap however. That is priceless.

No more ‘mappy’ this is indeed great news. That I as an American daddy can lose all ability to make a living in a heartbeat by an allegation by any attention whore who seeks some attention is not so good.

    • Elrond Hubbard November 20, 2017 at 11:17 am #

There’s nothing at all bizarre about it. What, because of something she used to do, she’s a ‘fallen woman’ and fair game forever? Does she never get to change her mind and, like, have it stick?

Not only a former but a current sex worker should be able to expect not to be groped without consent. The fact that her consent can, or once could, be purchased doesn’t change that.

      • K-Dog November 20, 2017 at 1:12 pm #

        Her consent?

She was born a man and pretending otherwise is confusing. As far as that goes I have a hard time believing the sexually confused can know the difference between being groped or not. OMG Jim, what an insightful piece of wisdom here this morning, well done! The loss of father figures, the loss or leadership of character in so many levels, is easily argued as a prime factor in this society’s spinning out of control. Testicular atrophy has indeed gripped the land and with no balls, cowardice is free to reign at will. We have argued here many times over the difference of opinion of whether things are always getting better of getting worse. One thing is unarguable and that is that the techno-baubles that are showered upon us all have certainly made things far easier “easier”, at least on the surface. I would argue that this has allowed us all to be able to spend far too much time to wander off the path of improvement and real progress and concentrate far too much thought and efforts on entertainment and perversion. It would seem to be a lot less likely for a person to not be able to identify its own organs when it is fighting against the elements to feed itself and survive on a daily basis.

Speaking of fathers, I must admit that I was certainly fortunate to have had a Dad who not only worked hard and accomplished much with his skills, talents and his own hands, but was able to pass on those abilities and the value of such efforts to his two sons. Dad’s “sex talk” consisted of the one line of “Keep your dick in your pants”, which while not exactly enough help to more forward with, certainly was good and sound advice. Dad taught us that if we were somehow able to learn to enjoy whatever work it was that we were doing, we would never have to work a day in our lives. If even half of the no ball wonders in our society could master such a concept our nation might still be growing better rather than falling apart.

Really, what’s the problem with a little frottage between friends?*

The thought of Jeffery Tambour rubbing anyone for “jollies” is enough to induce immediate projectile vomiting; but at least, as reported, it was with other like-minded trans-something persons.

ANd how utterly confusing; much like the explication of the series’ philosophical basis from the well-rewarded imbecile who produces it.

“Who’s your Daddy?” as the missing link question for the current American zeitgeist? Good chance of that hitting the mark, JHK. The American Patriarchy has been taking it in the shorts for certainly 50 years and the results have been astonishing. Marriage rates down; divorces way up; out-of-wedlock births off the charts; single mother families getting to be the norm; etc. But no problem: there is a popular medication for those symptoms and lots of W.I.C. and S.N.A.P. for the kiddies.

The solution for the TeeVee program is to have a different transsexual adult as the foster parent each week. Caitlin Jenner and Chelsea Manning would be perfect to kick things off and for getting the astronomical ratings that ensure the Hollyweird Propaganda machine gets to be rolling in clover as well as get the important mission of educating the populace on the grand merits of Transgenderism and other high-tech innovations of the Apocalypse.

It takes a village (of freaks) just like Hillary Clinton said.

*I have always found that a sharp, hard stomping on an instep works magic in any close order grope (or pick-pocket) situation.

    James,
I have a label (horrors!) I’d like to pin on this Sexual Identity Confusion (SIC [sic]): Goddamned nonsense. Do what you’re going to do; be who you’re going to be, but don’t blame me for the consequences you’re going to have to accept *because* of it. I don’t give a shit what you do with your dangly parts, just don’t expect me to give you any special dispensations or deference.

    As to this:
“My own meta-take on this whole business is that the archetypal father is secretly rather sorely missed in the USA. And their rage about it prompts them to destroy anybody else who reminds them of a bad daddy, by any means necessary — sexual misbehavior being a very convenient means in a culture that celebrates its lack of boundaries.” — JHK

I think you may just have something there! Men (and Women) will think about returning when the goodies get thin on the ground. If you happen to be a useless lump whose only skill is whinging about how you’d like your genitals to appear and what you’d like to do with them, you ain’t gonna last long. (Work to do and all that meaningless stuff.)

Truly a tragicomic missive today and a wander into the weeds of the befuddlement of the American “personhood”, as those personages are slowly impoverished and disenfranchised. Thanks.

I’m trying to picture a future when it doesn’t matter what you are, but only what you IDENTIFY as. It’s a world of possibilities, is it not? Today, after a lot of soul searching, I am identifying as The Heavyweight Champion of the World. It doesn’t matter that I’m a skinny middle-aged guy. I’m the champ. Now gimme my belts.

    • Walter B November 20, 2017 at 10:50 am #

This latest aberration on humanity does not HAVE a future, it cannot go on much further before it either all falls apart or it takes everything else down with it. At a recent CERT meeting, I was one of the first people to show up and I took a seat at an empty table. As members arrived four guys chose seats at the table I was at. Later, the woman running the meeting asked why all the men were sitting at one table. I quickly replied that I was not a man, but identified as a black female. The lady who asked the question in the first place seemed nonplussed, so I added that it has been my experience that I have found that black females are not only hard working, easy to get along with and are generally a credit to our society and that is exactly how I feel myself. “You can’t do that”, I was told. “Why not?”, I replied. The issue was dropped.

There is the issue that those dimwits that think they can utilize such tactics to gain advantage from. What authority is there behind any statement that are made to gain such advantage> What form will have to be filled out to give your baseless claims any weight? How do those who choose this method to gain advantage deal with the courter assault ? It’s not gonna work now is it?

      • elysianfield November 20, 2017 at 5:27 pm #

I suppose that my long winded point is that if anyone can claim to be anything then it all falls apart very quickly doesn’t it? Why can’t any of us claim to be anything and who could argue our assertions? And the logical conclusion to this road of non-development is that once everyone claims to be anything, in actuality, we all become nothing. Perhaps that is the point.

I keep saying it we don’t have a gun problem we have an insanity problem in these United States!
There are terms for people who are mentally ill that want to chop off otherwise healthy parts of their body or adding fake parts to it for sexual identity.
I get it if your born with two sets of genitals and the parents chose the wrong one to saddle you with for life but if your born with xx or xy your stuck no amount of tinkering or hormones is going to fix that!

While we are on it a family friends son just came out as “gay” he went from a depressed heavy drinking semi- feminine kid to a full blown lisping flamboyant Liberace flaming gay man in a week. We won’t go into the fact he had more than a few girlfriends he ran around with until six months ago. I kind of figured it was coming because he was black out drunk one night and ran into a light pole or some such crap and woke up in the drunk tank but pretended like he couldn’t remember the bar he was dosed in. I have watched his Christian family dealing with for them a very heavy topic and still loving their child unconditionally something many of the “Christians” I know would have had a hard time doing.
Yes folks insanity is the name of the game the new normal is anything the Socialist Democrat party says it is!

      @benr,

When you wrote, about men being “mentally ill” for wanting to “chop off otherwise healthy parts of their body,” I doubt if you were thinking about forced circumcision. But it should not be dismissed. Circumcised American men may laugh, but, historically, this mutilation was believed to be a form of emasculation. That ancient knowledge has been lost in present day USA, and the results have been devastating. Earlier men would not have had the guts to cross the Atlantic in rickety wooden boats or conquer the American wilderness if they have been circumcised, and none of our great Founding Fathers had been so wounded. In fact, no non-Jews were until the latter part of the 19th Century, when it was promoted as a cure for masturbation. It didn’t work.

      • Janos Skorenzy November 20, 2017 at 3:26 pm #

Others say the opposite: it’s a form of “terror initiation” making the victim more aggressive. In any case, its rise corresponds to the rise of the Jewish doctor in America. Some fathers have state almost getting into fistfights with doctors when they refuse the procedure for their son.

There’s a comic strip call Foreskin Man I believe. The Hero fight fiends who are trying to circumcise newborn babies.

        • outsider November 20, 2017 at 5:21 pm #

Well said, Janos. I think both can be true. One theory is that Muslim men are so aggressive because they were circumcised in later childhood, and thus remember every sordid detail of their humiliation. Combine that with Jihadism and who knows what damage these furious man-beasts are capable of.

I did read an issue of Foreskin Man online awhile back and thought it was very well done. But the ususal suspects were very unhappy, and I think no new issues are being published.

Could we stop with the trans obsession here?

OK, Jim doesn’t get the trans thing. Get over it. I’ve known some trans people from a couple of decades ago (a professor, a high school teacher) and they just wanted to live their lives in a way that wasn’t painful for them. They weren’t hurting anyone (in one case, the person’s children were very upset, although they admitted their father had never harmed them intentionally in any way).

History suggests that many cultures have had people who didn’t fit the toggle switch of male/female; some cultures embraced them as blessed or special. And who knows, in this world of unavoidable exposure to high rates of endocrine disrupters (agrochemicals, plastics) what might be challenging early stages of gender development?

Yes, the PC speech police are extremely annoying in their wounded identity crap, but that’s no doubt a reactionary response that will die down, especially if left unbaited. Meanwhile, idolizing the ghosts of manly men of masculine manliness doesn’t help; there’s just as much bullshit on that wagon.

In the larger scheme of things (like overshoot, climate chaos, extinction, etc.) what does it matter?

    • malthuss November 20, 2017 at 10:51 am #

You miss the point. It is a new point. It is an agender.
      get it?
      I didnt think so.

      Population control.

      • sooty November 20, 2017 at 1:48 pm #

Wait–do I understand you really think there’s an “agenda” to make people become a different sex in order to lower population?

We need a major population decrease, one way or the other. I’ve done my part. But what works really well is educating women and promoting family planning (ask Iran, which lowered their birth rate quickly and without draconian measures).

You don’t have to surgically switch genitalia to accomplish that.

    • tahoe1780 November 20, 2017 at 11:06 am #

      Yes, ubiquitous endocrine disrupters:

      https://detoxproject.org/glyphosate/hormone-hacking/

“In an in vitro experiment in human cells, glyphosate herbicides prevented the action of androgens, the masculinizing hormones, at levels up to 800 times lower than glyphosate residue levels allowed in some GM crops used for animal feed in the USA. DNA damage was found in human cells treated with glyphosate herbicides at these levels. Glyphosate herbicides disrupted the action and formation of estrogens, the feminizing hormones. The first toxic effects were found at the low dose of 5 ppm and the first endocrine disruption at 0.5 ppm – 800 times less than the 400 ppm level authorized for some animal feeds.8”

I’m reminded of E.F. Schumacher’s warning about “the ruthless application of partial knowledge.” If chemicals like those in Roundup, routinely used throughout America, are at least partially to blame for the sudden gender confusion, what other side effects and adverse events lie in store due to “better living through chemistry?”

Oh yessiree, but we’re not supposed to talk about the poisoning of the biosphere, now are we?
Why not? Because there’s MONEY to be made, BIG money.

As to the ‘manly’ or ‘womanly’ thing, I believe it all to be in the realm of ‘taking responsibility’ for training the next batch of inhabitants to ‘take responsibility’ for themselves and others. (Pretty simple really.)

Die down? Dude, they are trying to deconstruct gender. In some European countries, the words mother and father are no longer used, but rather Parent A and Parent B. Is that dying down? It’s Transhumanism as Malthus says – and this is just one aspect of a much larger Agenda.

Thanks Sooty. Finally, a sensible post. I can think of few things that affect me less than transgender issues. I sympathize with those who have gender identity issues, but conveniently none of my relatives or friends seem to fall into that camp, so I’m more interested in issues like sustainability and resource exploitation and ecological meltdown, which will affect us all.

When ocean fisheries populations are in collapse, I don’t much give a good goddamn who is using which bathroom.

Jim, since reading The Long Emergency years ago and then enjoying the World Made by Hand series very much, I’ve been a weekly reader of your insights.

I especially appreciate that you seem to be the only voice (in my circle at least) calling out the dangerous farce of gender politics. Robert Bly tried to warn us about the wounded male, but his message ran aground in a storm of gender war criticism. I’m a white male and was 30 when I first read Iron John. Now nearing 60 I sincerely hope you’re right that men will yet have an opportunity to see through the fog of all this and redefine our purpose.

I hope you’ll forgive me adding in this space that I’ve written a new short story called The Drive that so captures this moment of social distress, I couldn’t resist trying to share it with you. If you’re interested, you can find it on my website or at amazon.

Thanks again for speaking up even though the butcher knives are flying pretty thick these days.

The sequel, Sibling Society, directly addressed the lack of Patriarchy. The soft uninitiated males aren’t very attractive, are very confused, and gang up on Real Men and try to destroy them.

The New Agey Men’s Movement that arose a result of Bly’s work (and others) was less admirable – lots of faggy sharing, drumming, and ritual. I can’t see men acting like women as a way to develop real men. Some softening and this kind of introspection is good – but later. In and of itself, it won’t do what Bly indicated. He had the Vision to see what was needed, but much less of how to get there.

      • Alan Wartes November 21, 2017 at 4:47 pm #

I agree wholeheartedly. Identifying the problem is a necessary first step — but it usually takes a few tries to get the solution right.

In fact I heard Bly speak once, and he was also critical of the soft and mewling male that gravitated to the so-called “men’s movement” that formed after Iron John. It’s ironic that in doing so they missed many of the book’s key points.

One thing’s for sure: If we let the narrative get hijacked to a place where there is no such thing as a “real” man of integrity and authentic masculine power, we’ve lost something really important.

George Soros decries Hungary’s PM Orban for anti-Semitic attacks ‘reminiscent of the 1930s’
Soros says he had been targeted by an administration “stoking anti-Muslim sentiment and employing anti-Semitic tropes reminiscent of the 1930s.”
In July, Prime Minister Viktor Orban launched a nationwide television and billboard advertising campaign accusing Soros of devising Europe’s refugee influx.
The Hungarian premier has often vilified Soros, whose ideals are squarely at odds with Orban’s view that European culture is under an existential threat from migration and multiculturalism.

Opening weekend of the “gun” part of deer hunting season here is very informative. You see actual men and cartoon men.

Actual men: rusty old truck, well-worn but well-cared-for rifle or shotgun that may have belonged to dad, mismatched but carefully chosen clothing, a mix of blaze orange, surplus, and a bit of hunter-type camo. Stanley thermos with some coffee and a lot of scratches. Quiet, joking a bit, downplaying any venison they’ve culled.

Cartoon men: giant lifted new truck with tons of stickers for products + Salt Life stupid sticker, $2000 rifle with $1000 scope, treebark-pattern camos just gotten from Cabela’s. Yeti cooler with all the matching goodies. Full of loud stories that are all fake.

You cannot buy maleness. But a lot of men try. FWIW, with high winds the deer were nowhere to be seen, but I enjoyed some time sitting alone in a tree.

From your post, Id guess some guys spend a lot of money to kill deer or to look like hunters.

      • Bro Jobe November 20, 2017 at 2:54 pm #

Yep. I’m a cheapskate, so I look like an old-timey, Elmer Fudd hunter and not Rambo in an F-350. I’m so cheap I save good brass and reload it. My shotgun has been with me 32 years and it was purchased used, for under a hundred bucks. I’m going to buy a cheap 30-06 rifle this year, because the 1942 Lee-Enfield rifle I have has become unsafe to shoot with higher-powered rounds. The new rifle should outlast me.

When something becomes a lifestyle you can put on a window sticker, rather than a way of getting some meat in the freezer, I am out of there. Where I hunt there are mostly old-timey Elmer Fudd hunters, not…ahem…young bucks.

You don’t need new, just get a good used Mauser: cheap, bulletproof, and after 100 years still one of the best bolt actions ever made. We had a chilly day alone in the tree yesterday also.

          • Bro Jobe November 22, 2017 at 5:10 pm #

Good pick, the Mauser. I missed buying a nice one for $125 at an estate auction a few years back. The problem in all such cases of a used rifle in a potent caliber is getting a professional to check the bore, wear on firing pin, bolt face, and other mechanical parts, on the fly. You cannot do that at an auction.

Luckily, I found a really nice used Winchester 70, from one of the better decades after the 1964 changes, plus a not-so-nice scope, for under $400. Gunsmith who owns a local shop had it come in and he’ll make anything right with it if it gives trouble.

I’ll zero it Friday and be in the woods this weekend.

            Benr,
A non collectable Krag, one with cut down wood and maybe holes drilled for scope mounts will usually sell well under $200…$125 ish.

          • Bro Jobe November 22, 2017 at 5:18 pm #

benr, I found that the Ruger American fits that bill. You’d need to add glass, but you’d have a fine entry-level rifle right out of the box. Remington 783 is another pick in that price point. The Savage entry-level rifle, on the other hand, seemed rather cheap. All of them have plastic stocks but that stuff is tough. I’m old-school and prefer walnut on a bolt-action.

        • elysianfield November 20, 2017 at 5:42 pm #

” the 1942 Lee-Enfield rifle I have has become unsafe to shoot with higher-powered rounds.”

          Bro,
Headspace? You do know that rifle bolt has a removable bolt face, it is numbered 1,2,3, etc. Replace your bolt face with one number higher…what a real man would do.

          • Bro Jobe November 22, 2017 at 5:16 pm #

Nope. Checked all that and even replaced the recoil spring myself.

Something was still “off” when it shot. Then I had a pro look it over. It had been re-chambered! Probably by an Afghan armorer and maybe to 7.62×5 R. Maybe.

I’ve shot enough .303 through it to be thankful I don’t have a face full of Lee-Enfield. I’m going to get a casting made to confirm the new caliber and then sell the thing. It’s cool, it’s classic, it’s not in bad shape, but there are only so many calibers for which I want to reload.

I’ll shoot out the .303 I have purchased with a friend who has–get this–an unused WWII Lee-Enfield in cosmoline. We’ll get the same smith to verify its headspace, then make it go bang.

Bro Jobe hit on a memory. When visiting in-laws in Morgan County WV it reminded me their schools close the week hunting season opens so kids may go hunting with their fathers. The deer herd there is massive.

As we drove along the back roads we saw deer hanging from backyard trees or shed as they were being dressed out. When an old lady’s home burned to the ground, my FIL and his pals banded together and built a new home for her. Good people, not cartoon people.

Those good people are what many of us grew up with, but they can’t get elected. When it comes to election time, the GOP runs cartoon candidates like Roy Moore, Ted Cruz or some turd from the usual crowd of “wrapped in the flag and carrying the cross” evango-fascists.

Until the GOP runs a man of Jon Huntsman’s calibre we won’t see real leadership from the GOP. Until then, Hillary Clinton has more balls than the whole damned clown car of the usual GOP imposters and facades.

JHK writes: “But it will be interesting to see how the Transparent TV show continues into Season Four minus the character that is its reason to exist. The fact that the producers seem to think they can just carry on as if nothing happened tells us a lot about the delusional thinking of Hollywood.”

This should be obvious, but I guess it needs to be pointed out: Hollywood is a business. Contracts have been signed and people’s revenue streams are at stake. Obviously it’s a blow to a show when the headline star leaves for whatever reason, but it could be a choice between carrying on without Jeffrey Tambor and years of lawsuits. Either way it’s a business decision, not just a creative one.

When Valerie Harper left the show named after her, they renamed it, brought in a new lead actress, and the show carried on twice as long without her as it did with her. Shit happens. Money’s money.

In Arthurian Legend the Fisher King is the last in a long line charged with keeping the Holy Grail. Versions of his story vary widely, but he is always wounded in the legs or groin and incapable of moving on his own. In the Fisher King legends, he becomes impotent and unable to perform his task himself, or to father or support a next generation to carry on after his death. His kingdom suffers as he does, his impotence affecting the fertility of the land and reducing it to a barren wasteland.

Too weak to live. Too strong to die – the fate of Goodness unable to renounce this life (all seeds and skin as Ramakrishna put it) to rest in its own Source. Evil fares better or seems to as per Klingsor who castrated himself for the sake of power. Both have missed Life.

      From the Wiki

Klingsor had yearned to join the Knights but, unable to keep impure thoughts from his mind, resorted to self-castration, causing him to be expelled from the Order. Klingsor then set himself up in opposition to the realm of the Grail, learning dark arts, claiming the valley domain below and filling it with beautiful Flowermaidens to seduce and enthrall wayward Grail Knights. It was here that Amfortas lost the Holy Spear, kept by Klingsor as he schemes to get hold of the Grail as well. Gurnemanz tells how Amfortas later had a holy vision which told him to wait for a “pure fool, enlightened by compassion” (“Durch Mitleid wissend, der reine Tor”) who will finally heal the wound.

This world weary 68-year-old recluse has never watched “Transparent” and limits his daily hour of TV to reruns of the shows of his childhood and youth, with an occasional documentary thrown in. But watching the shows and movies from the 50s through the 70s has brought something home to me about the America I have seen change so drastically during my lifetime. I tried to capture some of it here for those of us who find it hard to express the heartache.

    • My Point of View November 20, 2017 at 1:09 pm #

Newton, a nice piece you wrote. I’m 70, and I watched those old shows along with you. I too never watched Transparent though I believe Tambor a fine actor.

IMO both Marshall Dillon and Paladin (and Beaver Cleaver’s dad) were cartoon creations of Hollywood’s myth machine; idealized examples intended to appeal to the inherent biases of our national propaganda all done in order to sell more Duz Laundry Powder or Brylcreem.

The Hollywood / Madison Avenue crowd still pander to our national image; just wear a leather jacket, drive a Jeep, smoke a Camel and you are a “rugged individualist” …. all self-delusionally snug in your cookie cutter suburban tract home. Yee Haw good buddy, Gawd Bless Uhmurrica.

In reality, old western sheriffs were quick to plug the bad guys and not haul them in to stand trial, in the humiliation of chains, in the dull boring routines of courtroom justice. The reality is that dead bad guys don’t shoot sheriffs in order to escape.

I was at my desk in the Pentagon when the plane hit on 9-11. You bet your ass I would’ve put a round in Bin Laden’s face, his wife’s, and his kid’s, and I would’ve dumped them all in the deep blue sea to send a message that if you fuck with us we WILL unleash the hounds of hell on you and yours, just as you did to ours that damned day for no good reason. Finality. Closure.

We’ve changed since Paladin was a dark hero, the original “Equalizer,” the guy who went out to git ‘er done, who got finality and closure for you. To me it’s a case of maturation. We’ve moving away from a binary over-simplification of things being either black or white, or good versus evil, and matured into a better reality that’s based on truth’s many shades of gray.

I get your heartache at the loss of Marshall Dillon and Miss Kitty, they were comforting to each other and to us. But they weren’t real, they were the ideal for us to aim for. Cartoonish? Maybe.

We still aim high, Federal, State, and Local good guys (and DoD) still go out into harms way to bring bad guys to justice. Robert Mueller will keep the wheels of justice turning; bad guys will get no comfort.

          • benr November 21, 2017 at 10:01 pm #

Bin Laden was known for having body doubles I suspect we got him in Tora Bora.
He had kidney disease and needed constant medical care to survive so I seriously doubt the man killed and dumped at sea was actually Osama simply put Obama needed to up his manliness rating and this is an easy way to do it.
Not unlike When George W. administration announced killing the same several top Al Qaeda GUYS SEVERAL TIMES!

        • Ol' Scratch November 21, 2017 at 10:31 am #

Fact of the matter was, there was NO outline of an airliner or resulting wide-spread fire as if from jet fuel at the Pentagon crash site, there was no airplane wreckage found at the scene, including the telltale engines, which always survive nearly intact, there were no tapes or credible eyewitnesses of the incoming aircraft in spite of extensive security monitoring all around the building, and the tapes of whatever DID happen were immediately seized and not released immediately after the incident. In addition, SEVERAL eye witnesses to an apparent missile were ignored and then threatened to shut up. In short, the Pentagon was hit by a guided missile, NOT an aircraft, and the entire incident was part of the much larger 9-11 false-flag operation.

          • benr November 21, 2017 at 10:04 pm #

Nope that narrative is patently false.
It was a Jet and not a missile and for the RECORD not much survives slamming into reinforced concrete several feet thick at 600 miles an hour!

The Mule? Good? Your judgment and/or store of information are sorely lacking.

The maturation may be real, but let’s face it, it leads to impotence in action. You often have to act or not act as you said at the top. All shades of gray simply must be ignored once the decision is made or you won’t be able to do anything

  29. janet November 20, 2017 at 12:01 pm #

the message that has been coming through loud and clear in the cultural scripts of recent days, with all the carping about cis-gender white folks (i.e. men) being responsible for all the woes of humanity.

The facts are inconvenient. For example, though women have equal access to firearms, between 1982 and 2017 men were responsible for 98% of the mass shootings in the USA.

If you look at slavery, genocide, use of nuclear weapons against civilian populations, etc. … you will find cis-gendered white males ARE responsible for the woes of humanity.

    • Walter B November 20, 2017 at 12:53 pm #

No doubt. Men ARE responsibility for all of the real evils in society, but you have conveniently forgotten that they are also responsibility for much of the greatness in it as well, especially the construction of all of the systems and structures that both men and women enjoy today. Men are responsible for both extremes and women are responsible for the in-between. Without the plusses that men bring to the game, we would all still be living in caves, well decorated caves indeed, but caves nonetheless. Men and women were designed to work together for the betterment of all. When they are stupid enough to stand at odds against each other, everybody loses (except of course those that are set up to profit from it ).

    • My Point of View November 20, 2017 at 1:38 pm #

One perspective is that these guys who expose the hose are jealous of women. Yes. Jealous.

Society accepts that women may wear skin tight clothing, show lots of cleavage, show their camel toes, flaunt their high tight buns, wiggle, jiggle, butts quivering as they click down the hall in high heels, etc.

Women may dress like that when they’re horny, go out, and get a man in no time. But what’s a horn-dog dude to do when he wants to flaunt his goodies to attract some action? Okay, the case I make is thin, but there seems a double standard that women may tease the crap out of men but men are just supposed to stand there and take it on the chin…

So, the exposers may be jealous, or maybe getting even for being teased by all the cleavage, wiggle, jiggle being flaunted at men.

      • K-Dog November 20, 2017 at 2:35 pm #

That is one perspective. Another is that these men are deluded and totally out to lunch thinking women get turned on by a limp hose. A turgid one maybe, but that requires more preparation than an ‘average’ exposure. But regardless of even that, these men don’t get that women only want sex when they want it, unlike men who want it almost all the time. They also don’t understand what women appreciate and what they do not. If they did they would not be getting complaints.

One thing I do think you have right is that the exposers are thinking only about themselves. You describe them as jealous. I’ll describe them as self absorbed and lacking empathy. As these men have no regard for the feelings of those who they inflict themselves on, I have little regard for those who do not deal with such egregious abuse at the time they experience it. If a man is truly a perpetrator then victims need to respond with indignation immediately and not aeons after the fact. If they do not they are little better than the abusers and they sanction continued abuse.

      • GreenAlba November 20, 2017 at 7:16 pm #

“But what’s a horn-dog dude to do when he wants to flaunt his goodies to attract some action?”

From what I saw Harvey Weinstein was a rather ugly pug with an incongruously beautiful wife. Many men would be grateful. He just happened to have rather an inflated sense of entitlement.

  31. volodya November 20, 2017 at 12:07 pm #

It’s like Fast Eddie said in The Hustler, anything can be great, bricklaying can be great, if a guy knows what he’s doin’ and why….

That’s the thing in this age of derangement, nobody, especially high and mighty thought-leaders, knows what they’re doing and why.

The Progressive Left, day-in and day-out, demonstrate their own unhinged state especially on campuses where it appears that rational thought, at least as it’s generally understood, is replaced by its opposite. Ironic given that “reason” is itself the reason for the existence for the academy.

But if the Left is shows its collective mental disorganization, the Right is in a state of intellectual Parkinsonism. Is it reasonable that a business venture’s ONLY imperative is to make money? Seriously? Here’s a suggestion, if a business doesn’t make money it has no real reason to exist but, while profit is the most important priority, who sez it has to be the only priority? And is it really off-limits to maybe revisit the rationale for the second amendment? So here’s another suggestion, maybe the interpretation of the second amendment is a fraud whose only benefit is to gun manufacturers..

In the first instance, with this single business goal in mind, the collective action of the managerial class has been to demolish the livelihoods of people in the interior of the country simultaneously aiding in the rise of the surveillance state, vastly increasing its capacity. In the second instance the Right blindly adheres to an interpretation of a constitutional amendment whose effect is of no apparent good but rather of demonstrable harm. Where’s the good in it? Did widespread ownership of guns stop Wall Street from sacking the country or stop the Oligarchs from building up China at the expense of the US and especially American workers? Did all those guns prevent the infiltration of the border by uncounted millions of illegal migrants? Are regularly recurring massacres a worthwhile price to pay for week-end fun at the shooting range?

I think that there’s such a thing as mass insanity where large segments of the populace take cues from one another and go nuts, these sexual derangements being just one example, others being the rise of Nazi-ism and witch burnings too. Periodically lunacy takes root and runs rampant like an epidemic except it’s behavioral in nature and not microbial.

    • My Point of View November 20, 2017 at 1:25 pm #

Re the 2nd Amendment, IMO the “militia” our founding fathers referred to were armed protective forces of each colony that were officially sanctioned by the respective state’s governor. Today we know these militias as the National Guard and the State Police. The founding fathers didn’t want a bunch of drunk yahoos marauding around the farms and dells creating anarchy, chaos and crime; they wanted enforceable law and order….state police, national guard.

IMO the founding fathers did not and could not even hallucinate the sort of firepower now inherent in our weapons of mass destruction like the AK-47, AR-15, machine guns, drones, tanks, bombers, missiles, land mines, poison gases, nuclear weapons, etc. No mere civilian needs any of these weapons for self or home defense or deer/elk hunting. IIRC there was a SCOTUS case in the 1920s that pretty much enshrined our current predicament, and some day that worm will turn and we’ll get back to some common sense gun laws.

      • Jigplate November 20, 2017 at 1:43 pm #

Be careful what you wish for. Thanks to the leftists in the good ol’ US of A, it is now fashionable to ignore the federal law that you don’t like. • Janos Skorenzy November 20, 2017 at 7:59 pm #

The 2nd Amendment exists to empower the citizenry against the State. The National Guard is simply a branch of the military now. Even the Governors have little control over it. Whether it ever was as you describe, I don’t know. But in any case, man have always had their own weapons in the country.

      • cbeard November 23, 2017 at 9:21 am #

You are right. AK’s, AR’s, etc., etc. aren’t needed for deer/elk hunting yada, yada. They are needed for protection from a tyrannical government. The second amendment is worth risking death to protect. Gun control, banning modern semi auto weapons is akin to banning cars with an automatic transmission. Enforce the goddamn gun laws that are already on the books. We don’t need more. Seal the border and start serious deportation. Don’t tell ME it can’t be done. If in fact you are correct in what I believe to be an erroneous interpretation of the constitution and the desires of the founding fathers, then fuck the constitution and the founding fathers too. The 2nd amendment confers a basic human right to self defense. The originators our form of government would be completely appalled, disgusted with the current condition of our country if I am correct.

Seal the border and start serious deportation. Don’t tell ME it can’t be done. – Cbeard

Of course it can be done.

The reason the border was open ie easy to get in illegally, hard to get in legally, is because Big Ag and Big Biz wanted a large workforce of impoverished and desperate and ILLEGAL residents. It makes these people willing to work for peanuts, to live in shitty housing etc all for the benefit of corporate bottom lines.

Both parties are in the pockets of these corporate interests so neither party was willing to take action on illegal immigration.

Portrait-Artist George W. Bush, please give a warm round of applause

George Bush Jr. presented a gallery of portraits of the powerful of this world. He painted them, of course, from photographs, but, being a strong personality, he avoided the temptation to imitate “professionals” and managed to make these portraits an exhibition of personal impressions, really showing the essence of if not the people, then their relationship. And how often is the relationship between the leaders of countries. become interrelations between countries, with leaders leaving, and the relations remain.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/photos/portraits-by-george-w-bush-slideshow/

By the way, it was George W. Bush who “saw the soul in the eyes of Vladimir Putin” and did not allow the relationship between Russia and the US to reach the state of a new cold war. But Bill Clinton (more likely Hillary) heated up this “new cold war” to almost thermo-nuclear temperatures of the Caribbean crisis, forcing the First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin to remind the President of the United States of Russia’s nuclear triad.

What W ‘saw” when he looked across the table at Putin was a hard-nosed former KGB agent cut from sterner cloth than any of Poopy’s CIA’s pals, and one who could simply reach out any time he liked a pull out W’s trachea and show it to him before any of his Secret Service (SS, imagine that!) goons could stop him. And imagine he told him exactly that directly.

Just a plain extra pull from a booze bottle can not explain such upswing in artistic quality.

From the point of view of international laws, US President Bush had every right to crack down on Saddam Hussein, since the peace after the first Iraq war was never concluded, and the cease-fire was stipulated by the many conditions that Saddam Hussein constantly violated.

And I do not know why Colin Powell needed a vial with a white powder, but they say that since then American diplomats, when they need to lie about something, put such vial in their pocket, and then there is no sin in lying and it comes smoothly across!

    George W. Bush a peacemaker

You ask, how can you call a peacemaker a person who occupied Iraq?

And the fact that George W. Bush became president when the United States was on the verge of a nuclear war, and the fact that it came to Russian President Yeltsin reminding Clintons about the presence of Russia’s nuclear weapons – precedent unheard of in history – sounded from Beijing, somehow is not remembered.

Meanwhile, it was the US-Russia relationship that was and remains the main indicator of the danger of a world war, and the good personal relations between Presidents Putin and Bush may have saved the world from confrontation even more dangerous than what we see in Ukraine now, and two years ago in Syria.

    • Ol' Scratch November 20, 2017 at 3:14 pm #

So here’s my conspiracy theory: The Koch Brothers are allowed by the elite to make Billions of dollars skimming off refineries, paper towels and chemicals in exchange for funding genetic engineering research that Congress can’t put in the budget. The media is under some self imposed gag rule to treat gay marriage and transgenderism as social issues rather than biotech issues, and the Kochs pump millions into their own media to hobnob and hoodwink the old media. Universities are bribed with sparkling new buildings and labs.

Trump figured this out (maybe Don Jr came across my blog?) and that’s when the Kochs rallied their forces around #NeverTrump.

But it didn’t work, and soon Trump is going to announce he’s figured out what is going on and call for an end to gay marriage and a ban on transgender reproduction, artificial wombs, and genetically modified babies.

Then, I will get elected to replace Elizabeth Warren and I’ll hold McCarthy style hearings to hold the Kochs accountable, and we will fine them 100 Billion for their treasonous manipulation of politics and policy. That will be so much fun!

Totally apropos of today’s blog essay by our host is a full page ad/statement on page 7 of the NY Times Sunday Style section. In all caps one inch high font are eleven famous fathers to sons admonitions as follows:

    BE A MAN.
    BE THE MAN.
    BE TOUGH.
    BE STOIC.
    BE A ROCK.
    BE THE BREADWINNER.
    TAKE IT LIKE A MAN.
    KEEP A STIFF UPPER LIP.
    GROW A PAIR.
    BOYS WILL BE BOYS.
    MAN UP.

Each of these admonitions has a thick red line drawn through it…effectively saying “DO NOT,”

Then follows a paragraph that refers to the above as “harmful, misguided stereotypes.” (I’m sure Elrond and janet will agree.)

Finally appears the named sponsor of this full-page spread” (I’ll bet it cost a bundle.)

    HARRY’S

I Googled “Harry’s” and there are so many of them that I don’t know whom to boycott or direct my outrage at.

    • 100th Avatar November 20, 2017 at 7:01 pm #

Harry’s is a hipster (AKA eunuch) shave club.
      It’s all marketing.
They are stuck trying to sell beards to men that wear beards as a mask of masculinity.
      Tough sell.

A bunch of investors that sell cheap Ray-ban knockoffs made in China took their business plan (undercut Luxottica) over to male grooming (undercut Gillette).
Cheap razors sold as some artisinal craft tool for artisan phonies/wannabes.

If only people knew what stoicism is.

In 2000, the situation changed dramatically when the US became headed by a person with a sense of proportion, which took very serious steps to normalize the situation in the financial sector of the US economy after the rampage of Greenspan’s creative financial instruments.

George Bush Jr. – the greatest political figure of his time, a talented military leader and a man with strategic thinking for 8 years of his presidency partially burned the 20 trillion of Clinton’s dot-com cash in a furnace of controlled inflation, associated mainly with rising oil prices, eased the pressure in overheated NASDAQ and Dow Jones , ruined the Worldcom, and laid the foundations for cooperation between Russia and the United States in solving world problems, just by seeing the soul in the eyes of Vladimir Putin.

He managed to lower the price of American stocks to the level that they would have had they not had the Clinton superball, while not allowing the American economy (and, accordingly, the world economy) to fall into the crisis of a-la 2008, and even an attack on Iraq seems to me justified.

It’s not so good to say that about the deceased, but Saddam Hussein was not an ally of Russia and, by American nod, deliberately betrayed Russia by his invasion of Kuwait, which served as a pretext for the introduction of US troops into Saudi Arabia and the most monstrous manipulation of oil prices depriving of Russia from any sources of financing the privatization of Soviet property.

What is going on with men? I certainly don’t know and I don’t think they do either. Men usually aren’t forthcoming with the reasons why they do stupid, violent things. But I don’t think the absence of a father figure can explain the lethargy and anger men seem to be living with. My own experience with a father was a very unpleasant one. The nuclear family model is one that is rife with abuse and exploitation. A man’s home is his castle whether it’s 500 or 5,000 square feet. His needs reign supreme. In the recent past, husbands and fathers could beat and rape their wives and children and the authorities were hesitant to get involved. A man had a right to control his family in the way he saw fit. And if he got tired of it all, he just left. In several biographies I have read about people who have created and achieved, most of their fathers were either absent or violent. So just growing up with an adult male in the household does not always equal success.

So why are they behaving like spoiled toddlers and shooting up the place? Men are encouraged to be anything they want to be. It is even acceptable for them to be incompetent bums. In contrast, women are conditioned to strive for perfection (good mommy/wife, attain arbitrary beauty standards). Society puts no such expectations on men. They are not required to achieve. They are not expected to take care of themselves or others. They have a female slave that does the repetitive maintenance (wife, mother, girlfriend, housekeeper). I believe that it is this inertia that leaves them uninspired and bored.

I really don’t care about men or their problems. I just want them to stop beating us, shooting us and using us as sperm receptacles. When the economy dies and the energy depletes, I believe human societies will resemble Afghanistan. Life will go back to being brutal and short. There will be no art or study. Human activities will revolve around providing men with food and orgasms. Men will still be violent. Women will die in childbirth and be physically punished for any perceived disobedience. Currently, this is reality for most women. Standard operating procedure in the male culture of death and depravity.

What points? That men are evil and women divine? You’re part of the Cult too – that of Hecate, the Dark Mother of death, especially abortion.

Feminism is basically utter and complete envy of men. Thus it is a complete misnomer, eh? Feminism is Masculinism in Drag.

    • 100th Avatar November 20, 2017 at 10:26 pm #

Feminism is not envy of men so much as not allowing women to be cutoff from traits for some reason mostly associated with men.
When you say be a man you are saying don’t be a woman.
      And so on.

The issue is not feminism at all.
What it is to be a woman.
      Tough, strong, caring, nurturing, gentle.
      All covered.

The real problem is, as always, men.
Now men want to be comfortable being
      Histrionic
      Gossipy
      Sassy
      Catty
      Seductive
      Buxom
      Demure
      Coy

What we have here is vagina envy and male confusion
      Men are sick and confused
      Ad nauseum

    • Janos Skorenzy November 21, 2017 at 12:23 am #

That’s just more male bashing. I agree that it ultimately is up to Men as the superior sex, but you obviously see women as “IT”, and men as just failed women. The Wiccan metaphysic.

      • 100th Avatar November 21, 2017 at 11:47 am #

        Not quite.
What are 99% of the cases?
        Men wanting what women have.
        A far, far majority.

The whole G,B,T thing is a surreptitious way to usurp roles from women.
        Men are under threat.
Aspects of their nature is now a threat to humanity.
Nature has a way of evolving through this.
Men are changing their nature for species survival.

What you are really witnessing is the obsolescence of women.

    Nicholas II version 2.0?

The American news feed is full of articles predicting the refusal of Putin to run for presidency in 2018.

    http://www.businessinsider.com/russia-looks-to-prospect-of-future-without-vladimir-putin-as-sources-say-he-has-considered-quitting-2017-11

    Sweet dreams!

But if these articles turn out to be truthful, then this will be an act analogous to the abdication of Nicholas II. The consequences of this abdication 2.0 will also be similar at best – the second Lenin 2.0 is not even on the horizon and who will stop February 2.0 is unclear.

And if Putin still goes for the 4th term, it will put the question of deconanization of Nicholas II to its fullest, and not because the unfortunate Tsar was not a saint, but because his canonization was a special operation of the CIA, which is a sacrilege in itself.

Many years ago, on a trip to Thailand, I and “The Wife” did the transvestite show in Pattaya. After the show, the tourists were given an opportunity to take photos with the very flamboyant transvestites. (For some reason, transvestites seem to be big exhibitionists and crave public and media attention.).

In any case, after the show, I had my wife take a photo of me with one of the Big Titted transvestites. As we posed for the photo, I “groped” one of the transvestites boobs. Force Majeure: I had to know what it felt like. As soon as I “groped” the boob, the transvestite immediately announced to everyone that I had “groped” her tit and demanded 20 Baht as Compensation for the injury.

By the way, it felt just like a basketball.

The Future of ‘Transparent’ is Trans: Why Recasting Jeffrey Tambor’s Role with a Trans Actress is the Best Option
Without Jeffrey Tambor, there are different ways to make “Transparent” Season 5 work. But one in particular stands out.

    http://www.indiewire.com/2017/11/transparent-season-5-jeffrey-tambor-trans-actress-1201899450/

“Jeffrey Tambor has quit ‘Transparent’ in advance of Season 5, and it’s unclear what the show — which was renewed for a fifth season in August, before the fourth season even aired — might look like without its trans parent.

“Jill Soloway’s Emmy-winning Amazon series was inspired by her own parent’s transition and has been largely constructed around Tambor’s Pfefferman family matriarch, Maura. The show needs Maura, even if it does not need Tambor, so the most obvious solution might also be the best one: Recast the role. More specifically, recast the role with a trans actress.

“Though imagining a new figure stepping into the show’s close-knit family dynamic may sound jarring, there’s plenty of precedent: Just look to ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,’ ‘Roseanne,’ ‘That ’70s Show’ or even ‘Pretty Little Liars.’ Granted, those series are comedies or soapy dramas, which makes it easier for them to make light of obvious off-air alterations, and none of these programs recast their lead — nor did they boast a lead like Tambor, who won two Emmys in the role.

“But these are unprecedented times demanding unprecedented actions. Of the options available for Soloway moving forward, recasting seems like the best creative decision — and that’s without considering what casting a trans actress in such an acclaimed series would mean for the show’s now-damaged reputation (and television overall).”

I hope everything works out for the best.

How is it that these “entertainment” fantasies have any value whatsoever? I cannot imagine spending any time watching them in the first place, much less discussing these non-events afterwards or before they “unfold” in the future. Can you help me to understand what exactly it is that human beings derive from viewing such things? I really would love to be educated.

      • Elrond Hubbard November 22, 2017 at 10:12 am #

Hmm. That’s one of those questions that gets either a quick, flip answer or else has an entire academic discipline devoted to trying to answer it. The quick, flip answer is something like: why does anyone do anything? Why do people watch the TV shows they watch, or play cribbage, or go windsurfing? The answer is because out of all the things that exist in the culture, those are the things they have a taste for, and there’s no accounting for taste.

That’s true but not very informative. Your question deserves a better answer, Walter B. The academic discipline I was referring to is called cultural studies. I expect you won’t care for it, because it was framed by left-wing academics who wanted to pick apart the power relationships that go into creating culture and perpetuating it down through time. Power relationships such as corporate ownership. The owners of cultural industries like advertiser-supported TV don’t produce shows for the sake of their cultural value; they produce them as bait to attract audiences, which they then sell to advertisers. That’s why most TV shows on advertiser-supported TV take existing power relationships for granted; they can’t be allowed to interfere with business.

But Transparent doesn’t run on an advertiser-supported network; it’s on Amazon Video, which is a subscription service. The same is true for other shows about marginalized people like Orange is the New Black on Netflix. The fact that these shows exist and are successful demonstrates that there is a market for cultural products that question cultural norms, unlike prolefeed like reality TV.

So, to answer your question, the audience for shows like Transparent is actually interested in the stories of people who are different from them. That’s the value proposition: you pay your subscription fee so you can see stories about people with a different perspective from yourself. If that’s not for you, then you can always keep your money. But we don’t always get to choose what other people find interesting, or what effect that has on the wider culture.

A schoolboy from the Russian Federation tells the Bundestag about innocent Wehrmacht soldiers who did not want to fight in the so-called “Stalingrad Cauldron”.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOqZ7h69KME

This is the bottom of the barrel. It remains only to repent and pay compensation to the families of innocent soldiers of Wehrmacht.

The “success” of the national education system is obvious. It is necessary to intensify the exposing the crimes of Stalinism and to build even more monuments to Solzhenitsyn.

        https://nationalvanguard.org/2017/11/jew-who-created-thousands-of-hate-hoaxes-and-threats-will-not-be-extradited/

“(In the video above, we see the governor of Florida jumping lively to give Jewish groups $1,000,000 of taxpayer money in the wake of the “anti-Semitic” threats that were later discovered to have been issued by Kadar. One could make a fairly solid wager, we think, that this money was not returned. And remember — Florida is only one of 50 states.)”

[The jews in EACH state get the biggest part of that annual Federal extortion money for “protection” EACH – and every – YEAR, which is one reason the “dual” jews inside the “US” perpetuate so many of these types of hoaxes on a regular basis, even when it’s a not an Israeli jew doing it, because they want a bigger and bigger slice of the Federal pie and a bigger allotment so that the jew pie gets ever bigger almost every year].

That jew [who they like to refer to as being a “kid”] who was caught making hundreds of false “hate” hoax calls, which were blamed against White people is not going to be extradited from the “escape prosecution hole” that the jews call Israel, but if I remember correctly, his mother was a top-level scientist at the main Israeli Nuclear Agency [I don’t remember about the father], so it’s little surprise despite the high-level damages and injuries which that jew man had caused to so many different people in addition to the false narratives which were floated, that Israel refuses to extradite him. The different charges are too lengthy to list here, and you MUST read the report, but these are not even the main charges, if even some of them are charged at all, and it’s the very first time I’ve heard about many of them which are detailed somewhat in the report.

It’s a good thing that he didn’t have access to one or many of Israel’s extensive inventory of nuclear bombs – (or, did he?).

“Kadar is separately accused of threatening to kidnap and kill the children of a former CIA and Pentagon official.

In addition to the bomb threats to Jewish centres, the indictment said Kadar made a bomb threat against an El-Al flight to Israel that sparked fighter jets to be scrambled, and threatened a Canadian airport, which required passengers to disembark in emergency slides and left six people injured.

He is also accused of threatening a Virgin flight that as a result dumped eight tons of fuel before landing, and of threatening a plane being used by the NBA’s Boston Celtics.”

The incredible difficulties of the innocent soldiers of Wehrmacht

Do Germans want a war? The desire for historical revenge definitely is having place and only grows with our European partners.

Belgrade was bombed because the Serbs did not have air defenses and nuclear weapons and for their role in 1941, when they delayed our European partners for a couple of months.

June 22, 1941 was to happen in April or May 1941 with a blitzkrieg to the line Arkhangelsk-Astrakhan in 100-120 days, only under these conditions a million Turkish army would strike the USSR from the south (the Turks are not stupid, you know), and then the Japanese would jump into the game.

The Serbs had briefly delayed the advance of European democracy to the East and it would have made a lot of sense to delay the military campaign against the USSR until May of 1942 and in a meantime occupy England with which there was already war in the air and at sea.

But the Fuhrer of all Europe had a strong itch in his Arian genitals, and the tank divisions were already on the border with the USSR and he decided that it is not worth it to get out of bed twice.

There was a big strategic surprise because it was hard to expect such idiocy from our German partners, but there was a deafening tactical and operational success and in the first six weeks the entire regular Red Army was captured with its weapons and equipment, which is 3.5 million people and 20 years of hard work.

Having lost all the regular army, half of the fleet and most of the aircraft in the first weeks of the war, the Soviet people drove our European partners back to their lair, in which they sat and did not tweet up until 2014.

Now Mama Merkel has a similar itch in her Arian genitals. Well why would she risk so much? Where is the winning combination? When ahead of her are the Russian tanks, and under her ass is the American nuclear fuse.

Let’s dig a Mykola out of the snow and let him read to us how Mordor caused domestic difficulties to the soldiers of the Wehrmacht in Stalingrad in the winter. Although in the summer of the same year another organization called [Siemens], ehr Luftwaffe bombed all the boiler houses in Stalingrad. Does this logic make any sense to you?

If you bomb all the boiler houses in the city, it will be cold in the winter. So please write it down in your textbooks on tactics and strategy. Wehrmacht suffered from direct actions of the Luftwaffe in Stalingrad and the Russians are to blame?

Parteigenosse Paulus should’ve quit drawing arrows on the map, pull the thermometer out from his ass and stick it out of the window.

By the way, it’s not too late for some people to do it even now.

    LIQUEFACTION.
………occurs when vibrations or water pressure within a mass of soil cause the soil particles to lose contact with one another. As a result, the soil behaves like a liquid, has an inability to support weight and can flow down very gentle slopes. This condition is usually temporary and is most often caused by an earthquake vibrating water-saturated fill or unconsolidated soil.

In the old republic, the failure of architects and design engineers to comprehend bedrock for building a skyscraper is analogous to the old republic political class failing to comprehend the bedrock of the Constitution for building a republic. And liquefaction produces a cataclysmic ending for both failure modes.

And TeeVee’s Milton Berl was the closest thing to a transvestite that anyone had to see.

Seems the whole “trans” thing is just the next step in the elimination of the utility of men.

Rosa Luxemburg and the subsequent representatives of the “School of World System Analysis” showed that the world bourgeois order implies a division into “center” and “periphery”.

There is an organic connection between them. One is impossible without the other. The “right”, “democratic” and “effective” capitalism in the countries of the “center” is such precisely because it relies on the economy of the “periphery” included in the market division of labor, adopting the logic of bourgeois progress, but living according to its own specific rules.

The plantation slaves in America and the Russian serfs were closely associated with the English free workers. Grain and cotton, products of bonded labor, made free hiring efficient and cost-effective. Backwardness is a myth, but dependence is an economic fact.

To catch up does not mean to run faster, because the idea of the race is wrong. This is not a competition of runners on parallel tracks, but a rider-horse relationship. The faster the horse runs, the faster the rider arrives at the designated point.

Darwin’s theory of evolution is an explanation for why humans exist that does not include a supernatural element. Humanity exists without any particular purpose and without any claim to be special among all other life forms. Fuller disagreed, and in so doing is a creationist. Fuller claimed that humanity exists because an anthropomorphic Universe / cosmic system / God created us. Fuller also claimed humanity, among all living things, exists because we have a function. That function is problem solving. To reject this destiny is to guarantee that humanity will die out. Fuller claimed humanity was discovering the principles of Universe / God and is therefore able to evolve.

As is done to the least of us shall be done to all.

The world either works for 100% of humanity or none at all.

There has been an effort to subvert male dominance by the media, Hollywood and radical feminism. Some of it was due. Some of it is manipulation by invoking guilt and shame. In their arrogance, radical feminists do not want to take responsibility for their failings. It is all men’s fault. Yet, lust and greed infect both sexes. The allure of sex and power is powerful, and, because of it, women are just as likely as men to abandon or compromise ethics and morality in pursuit of fame and fortune.

While the two sexes will never be equal biologically or physically both sexes can have equal status and still be moral actors. But to do that we have to reinstate honesty, common sense and the rule of law in all our dealings. We have to refrain from claiming “victim status” at the first sign of accountability, but instead take responsibility. Not for the sake of political correctness but because of a mature sense of right and wrong.

Some of these men (and women too) should read, “Iron John” by Robert Bly.

    • 100th Avatar November 21, 2017 at 12:39 pm #

Women hate taking responsibility, hate it more than anything. And they can’t stand admitting they are wrong. Yet they love being apologized to.

Let’s face it: they aren’t the moral equals of men anymore than they are our physical or intellectual equals.

      • Dumbedup November 21, 2017 at 3:31 pm #

The worst thing about this post is that it implies that you and I are in agreement. In fact, we are not. Your post states it as “all” women (The very definition of bigotry and prejudice.) Radical feminists are a political creature formed by a process which seeks to identify subsets among us that can be exploited. That is the nature of their hypocrisy and deceit. Not because they are female. In that respect, there is NO difference between men and women. It is only a matter of who can profit.

        • Janos Skorenzy November 21, 2017 at 10:50 pm #

Your refusal to generalize is a refusal to think as generalization is also called inductive logic. If you couldn’t generalize enough to call lions “lions” and assign to them the traits proper to their species, you wouldn’t have made it back in the Old Stone Age. If every time you saw a lion it was a completely new experience without preconceptions, you would end up as the Lion’s lunch.

So when it comes to Women, I merely ask, What is the nature of the beast? Might there be exceptions and/or a higher nature in some? Of course. But that doesn’t negate my insight into the common nature of the average woman.

          • Dumbedup November 22, 2017 at 9:54 am #

Oh brother. Generalizing is evidence of a lazy (or perhaps inferior) mind.

          • Janos Skorenzy November 22, 2017 at 2:09 pm #

No, it’s one of the basics of thinking. You are simply too lazy or arrogant to examine it – or incapable.

What you may be trying to say is “Over-generalizing is bad. Or incorrect generalizing.” But you didn’t say that so I can’t be sure how dumb you are or aren’t.

  77. volodya November 21, 2017 at 1:32 pm #

I think it’s fair to say that women do not have clue one about the male sex drive or its power over the behavior of men. I think it’s fair to say that women have no more understanding of men than men do of women.

About 20 years ago I read a woman’s account of an illness she had that required her to take a testosterone derived hormone as treatment. Her sex drive spiked up as a result. She said that only then did she understand why men do what they do w.r.t. sex.

There was a time when our grandmothers gave their daughters-granddaughters advice about the “facts of life”. They were called “facts” because that’s what they were. Simple things like beware of men, don’t find yourself alone with a guy in his apartment unless you’re looking to get sexual advances. Like dress modestly. Behave modestly.

A while back I was in a business meeting. We were sitting there waiting for an exec from another company to arrive. We’d never met her. And when she arrived she was wearing a mini whose hem-line skirted the tree-line. When the meeting broke up a colleague muttered to me that women wonder why they’re not taken seriously. If you’re going to dress like a hooker you’ll get treated like a hooker. Sorry, but that’s just a fact of life.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 21, 2017 at 2:28 pm #

Conservative women did and do. But Feminism, being Anti-Life, forbids women from seeing clearly. Now they think we want the same things they do – Strength or Strong Women. Hah! Such utter narcissism. Can’t see outside themselves at all.

Such “strong women” are typically incredibly brittle and bitter. And in denial as they fight against Life. Thus they are weak….

Yeah, why shouldn’t he be castrated by the Manaeds – using their bare hands or teeth as the Bonobos do to errant males?

Dionysus wandered the world actively spreading his cult. He was accompanied by the Maenads, wild women, flush with wine, shoulders draped with a fawn skin, carrying rods tipped with pine cones. While other gods had temples to be worshipped at, the followers of Dionysus worshipped him in the woods. There, they might go into a state of ecstasy and madness, ripping apart and eating raw any animal they might come upon.

Dionysus was also one of the very few characters able to bring a dead person back from the underworld. Even though he had never seen Semele, he was concerned for her. Eventually, he journeyed into the underworld to find her. He faced down Thanatos and brought her back to Mount Olympus.

Dionysus became one of the most important gods in everyday life and was associated with several key concepts. One was rebirth after death; his dismemberment by the Titans and his return to life was symbolically echoed in viticulture, where the vines must be pruned back sharply, and then become dormant in winter for them to bear fruit. Another concept was that under the influence of wine, one could feel possessed by a greater power. Unlike other gods, Dionysus was not merely a god to be worshipped, but he was also present within his followers; at those times, a man would possess supernatural powers and was able for things he would not be able to do otherwise.

The festival for Dionysus was held in the spring when vines would start bearing leaves. It became one of the most important events of the year and its primary focal point was the theater. Most of the great Greek plays were initially written to be performed at the feast of Dionysus. All participants, writers, actors, spectators, were regarded as sacred servants of Dionysus during the festival.

Janos again. We need this god, one who can enter into us and give us superhuman strength. One of leaders of Haitian rebellion was a high Vodoun Priest. He was captured and bound and was being lead to the guillotine. He invoked one of the Gods, break his bounds and fled with superhuman speed and agility. He got away.

When I wore a younger man’s clothes, I went to an inner city Vodoo ceremony with some friends. My racial awareness was dawning but just over the horizon. Some White women were also there and asked to sit with us. We were the blanks or whites. They felt like hypocrites but although they worshiped the Blacks, they felt uncomfortable with them. After the ceremony, they asked as for an escort through the neighborhood – which wasn’t that bad, but was terrifying for them.

I don’t believe, historically, large scale ground combat warfare has come to an end. Young American women are now in Marine and Army infantry companies; just imagine our surprise when we discover NKorean, Islamic, Russian or Chinese soldiers do not have the same progressive attitude toward women as say, the Gender Studies dept. at NYU, and there really is a difference — in every way you can think of — between men and women after all.

“My own meta-take on this whole business is that the archetypal father is secretly rather sorely missed in the USA. The mental inversions of the Progressive intelligentsia tell me that, deep down, the Left is in a state of deranged anguish over it. Trump has inflamed them especially because he fills the role of national father so badly for them with his vulgar incoherence.” JHK

Who is the archetypal father? Ozzie? Robert Young from “Father Knows Best”? Fred MacMurray in “My Three Sons”? Bill Cosby?

How about Ben Cartwright from “Bonanza” or Charles Ingalls from “Little House on the Prairie”? All fathers created by the media and possessing desired fatherly traits. My guess is that the Left would prefer Ozzie. Or Cosby.

Perhaps mine is a more brutish lot than most but the universe has always had a good overhand right for me when I showed up making unearned demands. I have had a couple of good lessons, this is the universal standard for an asshole with a demand.

I missed the Jeffrey Tambor announcement in the NYT, which is probably a good thing. Several years ago I decided to stop listening to NPR. Period. It was probably related to the year that I was driving from VT to South-central PA, on what seemed to be a monthly basis to address issues related to ailing parents. It is a seven-to-eight hour drive and I listened to the radio, books-on-tape etc to pass the time. It seemed at least once heading south or the return trip I listened to “Fresh Air” with Terri Gross. And it seemed the show I heard on that trip had to do with some kind of gender-related issue. A new play. A new opera. A new movie. A new novel. A series in a magazine. Yada. Yada. Yada. Enough. Stop it. It almost seemed like Gross was trying to decide if she had a gender-issue. I even heard her interview with Tambor about the show and his new-found celebrity. He is a pig like the rest of them

“Women have half the money and all the pu**y…this is unfair.” You are bitching and moaning because you have to share? ”

Whenever women bitch about male tyranny —

    — or , whenever men crow about male supremacy ,

I’m reminded that , for 100% of human history , at least 75% , but most commonly fully 90% , of the male population have been …….

    …… ditch-digging peasants.

I have no doubt that most of these bitching women , and most of these bragging men , are really angling to get themselves into the aristocracy.

90% of them are fools. They have a snowballs chance in Hell of joining that club.

I would say that is , in brief , the real and general history of 500 years of revolution.

The sexual revolution is no exception.

” When you were chewing gum in elementary school, did not the teacher ask you “Janet…did you bring enough for the rest of the class?”

As for, ” what is conducive to the survival of the species ” —- that is antique 19th century Social Darwinism.

The almost certain fate of any and all species is extinction.

And humans , no less than Ivory – Billed Woodpeckers, may be an example that the better adapted you are , the more likely you are to go extinct , and sooner.

So it seems if Janet wasn’t listening at all , you were only half-listening.

      Kesa,
Male tyranny, Female tyranny. What I have learned in my 7 decades is that everyone is up for grabs…it is everyone’s role to be a victim…few will escape the mantle. The object in life is not to REMAIN a victim.

There are none of us reading these lines that have not been victimized.

As the old coach used to say in High School…”…you hurtin’? Spit on it and run a lap….”

It is not that I do not feel compassion for the victim…I just do not feel obligated.

” Re the 2nd Amendment, IMO the “militia” our founding fathers referred to were armed protective forces of each colony that were officially sanctioned by the respective state’s governor… ”

Change , ” each colony ” ( they were only colonies when part of the British Empire . ) to , ” sovereign states ” and it would read correctly.

” Today we know these militias as the National Guard and the State Police. ”

Not really. Except that they are both armed forces , the only similarity between the old Louisiana Washington Artillery , and the contemporary Washington Artillery of the National Guard , is cosmetic.

And I suppose that when someone gets around to noticing that dissimilarity , that for 50 years that unit was a unit of another country , and then a unit for four years in the disreputable Confederacy , then even the cosmetic similarity will disappear. The Washington artillery will be re-named something else

For example , when an officer in the U.S. Army resigned his commission in 1861 and returned to the service of his state , I rather doubt that he fancied he still belonged in the same army as before.

” The founding fathers didn’t want a bunch of drunk yahoos marauding around the farms and dells creating anarchy, chaos and crime; ”

The founding fathers also thought they were delegating authority , not surrendering authority , and in a voluntary union.

    Oh well.

” some day that worm will turn and we’ll get back to some common sense gun laws. ”

The once sovereign states , now incongruously called states , are arguably grossly inefficient in their guise of states , when they are really now just counties .
I guess it’s just another kind of entitlement program .

And , come to think of it , the states are a bit like men in dresses pretending to be women , according to the premise that there is really no significant difference between Vermont and Arizona , which premise I think is far more dubious than that which claims fundamental differences between men and women beyond different plumbing.

You have been a transsexual nation for a long time , and I see no common sense in it.

“Can you imagine women getting it like those guys did on Hacksaw Ridge?” –tucsonspur

Nothing special is required to get shot up on Hacksaw Ridge. No endurance or stamina is required to get shot to pieces. (not to mention the movie is about a pacifist conscientious objector who REFUSED to bear arms during WWII on religious grounds).

Women do have endurance and stamina. I know John Howard can… but can you imagine men going through nine months of pregnancy, going through labor, all those contractions and pushing, and then delivery? The really rough stuff is left to women.

    • tucsonspur November 22, 2017 at 12:27 am #

Of course, but still ignoble. And of course women have endurance and stamina.

Yes, and during those nine months she must form the placenta to take on the tasks of the developing organs (liver, lungs, kidneys) until they’re completely functional.

First come the trophoblasts. Then the cytotrophoblasts do their magic, and reroute maternal blood to the placenta itself. And miracles occur at the maternal-fetal interface.

    MORE TRUMP ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR BLOCKED

US District Court Judge William Orrick issued a permanent injunction Monday blocking Trump’s executive order seeking to strip so-called sanctuary cities of federal funding.

The ruling represents a major setback to the administration’s attempts to clamp down on cities, counties and states that seek to protect undocumented immigrants who come in contact with local law enforcement from deportation by federal authorities. ” The number of American troops killed in Afghanistan between 2001 to 2017 – 1,833. The number of women killed by men in the US in only one of those years, 2015 – 1,686. ”

Compare either number to the number of people killed in auto accidents in a given year , or due to slipping on a banana peel , in a given year.

Yet , though the number of people killed by the guys in the black hats , in nearly any sample yo care to look at , is as a mole hill compared to Mount Everest , huge amounts , even ruinous amounts, are spent on armies and police forces.

My guess is it is an entitlement program. People ( and i mean women no less than men ) think putting on funny costumes and playing with guns is more chic than scrubbing toilets.
—- Not to mention that , usually , there is no G I Bill for toilet scrubbers.
And women , no less than men , vote for all of this.

And is it different when women get into the catbird seat ?

Well, the story is that Tsar Peter III was a nut , and this why he was deposed and killed.

What I see though is that he wanted to get Russia out of a war from which it was gaining nothing , and he wanted to scale back the Russian army.

And I think it no coincidence that during the reign of his replacement , the woman , Catherine, war was nearly incessant, and the Russian military establishment grew ever larger, the perks given to it only increasing.

” Homicide is the leading cause of female death in the workplace. ”

And black men are ten times more likely to die by violence than white women.
But what about white men ? Still , white men are four or even five times more likely to die by violence than white women.

And near as I can tell , no one is more likely to vote for bigger police budgets than white women !

The really fun part of this is that when I point out this comparative slaughter of men, women , whose feelings are supposedly more delicate , most often immediately dismiss it out of hand.
    ” Never mind that ! ”
    And if I persist ? I’m a back-stabbing Judas.

    But the REALLY fun part is the common reaction of men ;

You would think I had somehow pissed in their corn flakes by pointing out that their lives are typically counted for less than the life of a crack whore.

Maybe men really are fucking stupid ?

” Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women, more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. In one day during September, 2013, 66,581 victims were served at domestic violence centers in the U.S., and 36,348 domestic violence victims (19,431 children and 16,917 adults) found refuge in emergency shelters or transitional housing provided by local domestic violence programs. ”

And some studies suggest that domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to men — EXCEPT that nobody gives a fuck , including other men.

Wanna trade places with them sweetie if that is true ?

” Sexual assaults by men is the preferred method of torture when targeting women and children. ”

I have noticed that torture is the preferred method of control for “enlightened” , ” progressive” , “liberty – loving ” regimes , and they never fail to draw a bogus comparison between themselves and regimes that just shoot people.

I say ” bogus comparison ” because , You tell me , would you rather be tortured , or put out of your misery ?

Or, as a Japanese officer supposedly once said , ( paraphrasing ) ” would you rather live like a coolie, or die like a hero ? ”

    Lol.

    Lovely “choice ” isn’t it ?

” Go talk to law enforcement about these statistics. I didn’t make them up. ”

Fuck law enforcement. I don’t need some guy in a funny costume to hold my hand. I can do math sufficiently myself.

( Have you ever noticed that most police have soft hands , and that despite most of them being males ? )

I never said these statistics were made up , or even incorrect.

I HAVE said that you need not alter the statistics , or proffer false statistics.
You need merely cast the statistics into a certain context, and you can make the numbers say whatever you want them to say.

” So who did the other 84% report to? And how do you know these were legitimate rapes if no one was tried and convicted? ”

    Correct !

Nice to see someone who can actually read and do math !

” What is sexual violence? How was the study conducted? Does it make you feel all warm and fuzzy…your distaste for men in general vindicated? ”

    Correct !

    — And perhaps in future you will point out things like that when Elrond pretends he doesn’t know what the fuck I’m talking about , instead of , likewise , pretending you don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about , when clearly you do ?

The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) is an annual data collection conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau for the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS).

According to the them: out of 1,000 rapes, 57 result in arrests, 11 are referred to prosecutors and 7 lead to a felony conviction.

So just because someone is not convicted does not mean that a rape did not occur.

And, conversely, just because 1000 people (presumably women) say they were raped doesn’t mean they actually were.

    Three Jews: Einstein, Friedman, Christ

In the philosophical foundations of Orthodoxy

    http://kunstler.com/clusterfuck-nation/good-people-really/#comment-310485

I tried to show that according to the existing academic religious studies, Christianity turns out to be one of three world religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam), which are different forms of Abrahamic monotheism, the most characteristic feature of which is the following set of postulates:

    1. Monotheism – the statement that the world was created by one Creator.

    2. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam make Abrahamic monotheism a statement that man is an image and likeness of God, and in this capacity man is the crown of creation, that is, in the hierarchy of creatures he stands above not only animals, but also angels and archangels, that is including the fallen ones.

These two concepts ask one very difficult question:
If all things are created by God, any action of which is good, then where did evil come from?

The answer to this question requires the addition of the first two postulates with the third:

postulate of the freedom of will – the ability of a person to act in accordance with the will of God, or in spite of it, and then this action is called sin. This concept even in the framework of academic religious studies proves to be much more complicated than it seems at a first glance, for example, it requires the addition of yet another concept – freedom of choice, but this topic is not included in the subject of this post.

But the main difficulty lies in the fact that academic religious studies consider different kinds of denomination of Christianity as parts of a single whole, while Orthodoxy considers Islam to be a much closer religion than Catholicism, which raises some doubts about belonging of it to Abrahamic monotheism.

This is due to the fact that in Orthodoxy all people are sinners, and Catholics claim that the Pope’s ex cathedra turns out to be infallible. Of course when the Orthodox begin to discuss this topic with the Catholics, the parishioners of the Pope with great skill, honed for centuries, prove that the infallibility of their spiritual father ex cathedra in no way contradicts his sinfulness and accordingly Abrahamic monotheism.

And to perfect this skill Catholics began even before Catholicism separated from Orthodoxy in the middle of the 11th century and an important role in this was played by the Englishman Bede the Venerable, who in his works proved that St. Denis of Paris is not the Holy Dionysius of Athens, who went to the Roman province of Gaul (France) to preach Christ to the Gauls, but is Saint Doinicius of Corinth, who began to justify the primacy of the Pope by virtue of his infallibility long before this idea occurred to one of the bishops in the city of Rome.

This naturally raises the question: “Was Catholicism a kind of project of some lodge, as a congregation of people negatively related to Abrahamic monotheism due to some knowledge, commonly called gnosis, and not the result of an error made in the interpretation of the origin of the Holy Spirit?”

But this question is not considered theological, and the Church does not want to interpret it either in the theology or in the history of the church, since it is closely related to the question of the fate of Western Christians after the Great Schism, who do not agree with the aforementioned gnosis, which became the true cause of the anathema that papal legates placed on the altar of St. Sophia on July 16, 1054, already after the death of the Pope Leo IX who sent them.

Meanwhile, this issue is closely related to the issue of the interaction of Christianity and scientific knowledge, which for almost a thousand years after the Great Schism was supported by all sorts of lodges, hoping that science would refute Abrahamic monotheism from the other end, proving that no one created anything out of nothing, but, on the contrary, that the world either existed forever, or was created from material that was not created by the Father of Christ, but by someone else.

And science did just that, until Einstein formulated the General Theory of Relativity, and the brilliant Russian scientist Alexander Friedman solved the Einstein equation, showing that they have an unavoidable feature in time when the radius of the Universe was zero.

That is, the Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, unlike the Big Bang Theory, creates a cosmology similar to that presented to mankind in the Holy Scriptures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

As much as this is erudite, elegant theological scholarship Finc, and I am normally appreciative of your tangential excursions; this comment has absolutely zip, zero, zilch, nada, nothing, goose eggs, to do with the topic at all. Nothing – you could have at least tied it up with the whole God the father theme or the way traditional Orthodox clergy have that ultimate symbol of Manhood: a beard. Nope.

So in the interest of trying to give your comment some relativity to the issue of trans-everything let’s try this on:

Did you hear that Caitlyn Jenner is going to sue Bruce Jenner for sexual harassment?

    Janos,
Would you accept in conversation that the human experience can be described as a filter on a data set? The more information that the filter excludes from the data set the more likely one is to find what they seek, by definition.
All of us have the human sensory filter, physics and metaphysics inclusive, and we are finite. Why does one choose to place a very fine mesh filter on the human filter and thus limit their experience to only what they desire? How do they know even their desire?

The universe favors somethings, even the sage is unsure of why…LZ

Now all dying peoples turn to religion and Whites are now different. But we of the Alt-Right have retained our intellect in the process. The tension between our faith and intellect produce humor. We mock everything including ourselves, but not to the point of nihilism or not believing in our Cause. The Balance is ALL. Kek loves us for this and we are His Chosen. Even now He is pleading our case with the High Gods for our survival. There is a Mighty Force behind us. And we will not only survive but crush all of our Enemies in the fury of our Righteous Wrath. The Atlanta City Council declared that all Confederate monuments were tributes to “white supremacists.” Yes, they actually wrote that in their powerpoint presentation a week ago in their attempt to dismantle and destroy monuments.

It’s not about history. It’s about race. THEIR race and theirs only. They want to exterminate white people. I know I’m preaching to the SBPDL choir.

But, of course, YT are the racists. Heaven forbid anyone call Kasim Reed or his ilk by that name.

Wm5135, I think what you’re saying is a version of the saying “those whom the gods would destroy they first make proud.”

The social pyramid, or food-chain ,as it’s currently constituted won’t last. They never do. The ones that are presently on top think they’re special, that somehow the rules don’t apply to them, or maybe they think that they make the rules and dictate what’s real and not real.

I see Social Justice Warriors and culture warriors in general as mostly privileged people at the top of the income and wealth pyramid. Apex predators IOW. What these people are all about is the exercise of power over others ie self -aggrandizement. These people think they have a special mandate to adjudicate, that their way is the only way.

On the one side of the debate they make a really big thing about their alleged “cosmopolitanism” and “multi-culturalism”. But it’s like Kesa Anna said a while back, civilization isn’t created and maintained by people on the move, but rather by settled communities agreeing on a common rule-book.

In any case people smug enough about their place in the established order of things will maybe find that the order of things isn’t necessarily so established and that their place in it maybe isn’t so secure. They’ll find that when they make a demand, they’ll find others – rivals IOW – with demands of their own for money and power and resources.

Or ,as you so aptly put it, the universe delivers an overhand right. Myself, I see the election of Trump as a jab, not a knock-out punch. The over-hand rights are still to come.

Wm5135 re the human filter on a data set. What I think you’re saying is that people see what they want to see.

The Comey investigation of Clinton State Department emails is a case in point. If people are intent on NOT seeing elephantine piles of malfeasance, well by gum, they’ll bloody well not see it. If they’re intent on NOT following trails of money involving tens and hundreds of millions of dollars from Russian oligarchs to Clinton coffers well dammit they’ll not follow them.

As you say, human filters. Of course, the filtration doesn’t change the underlying data. Actions have consequences. The blatant corruption of the political system by the Clintons, even if all the great intellects deny that it’s corruption, is still corruption.

I have no idea if the Marines took the CIA’s headquarters in Langley by storm, but according to my intelligence assets in NY from the Union Square, in the US there are more rumors of that kind, than in Russia.

And yesterday in the crowd there were several obvious students of the West Point, who were smiling in a very strange, but rather satisfied way in response to the questions.

The news feed also indirectly confirms these rumors, in the sense that the “established” editions do not write about it, but the intensity of the anti-Trump propaganda has sharply declined. In general, the news feed is empty – it seems that they do not know what to lie, which way to lie, and whose benefit to lie to.

Actors and actresses are some of the most confused, out of balance, and perverted people you could ever know. And the people worship, emulate and listen to these “celebrities” which is so sad. One is reminded of Rabbi Zolli, Chief Rabbi of Rome, who converted to Catholicism because of the compassion of Pope Pius the 12th towards the Jews. He even changed his name to the Pope’s birth name, Eugenio. He was condemned by the Jews, thrown out of the Synagogue, and made into a pariah.

        • Janos Skorenzy November 22, 2017 at 7:00 pm #

From the wiki: In his autobiography, Before the Dawn: Autobiographical Reflections by Eugenio Zolli, Former Chief Rabbi of Rome, Zolli said that while presiding over the religious service in the synagogue on the holy day of Yom Kippur in 1944, he experienced a vision of Jesus. Within his heart, he says, he found the words “You are here for the last time.”[10]

On February 13, 1945, Zolli, his second wife, and daughter converted to Catholicism (his first wife having died years earlier). He was baptized at Gregorian University by Mgr. Luigi Traglia in the presence of Father Paolo Dezza; his godfather was Father Augustin Bea, confessor of Pope Pius XII. Zolli chose to be christened “Eugenio Maria” in homage to Pope Pius XII, who was born Eugenio Maria Giuseppe Giovanni Pacelli.

After his conversion, Zolli was asked in an interview why he had “given up the Synagogue for the Church.” Zolli responded saying, “But I have not given it up. Christianity is the completion or crown of the Synagogue. For, the Synagogue was a promise, and Christianity is the fulfillment of that promise. The Synagogue pointed to Christianity: Christianity presupposes the Synagogue. So you see, one cannot exist without the other. What I converted to was the living Christianity.”[11]

An Interview With James Howard Kunstler
America’s foremost critic of suburbia talks strip malls, environmentalism, and Christianity.

    http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/an-interview-with-james-howard-kunstler/

“James Howard Kunstler, a novelist and journalist active since the early 1980s, burst onto the scene in 1993 with The Geography of Nowhere, perhaps the most famous post-war denunciation of suburbia. Written with the intensity of an Old Testament prophet, The Geography of Nowhere and much of Kunstler’s later work is chock full of obscure facts and illuminating anecdotes that all tell the same story: the way Americans live today is physically, environmentally, and spiritually unsustainable, with the ‘strip-mall wilderness’ and the regime of “happy motoring” coming in for special criticism.

“Kunstler is a Democrat, albeit an angry, disaffected one, and among his previous journalism gigs is a year as an editor at the liberal Rolling Stone magazine. Yet his rage at debt-driven consumerism is no less conservative than Russell Kirk’s denunciation of the automobile as a ‘mechanical jacobin.’

“A cursory reading of Kunstler’s books or blogs might give the reader the impression that he is a cynic, or even anti-American. For example, he is fond of opining that ‘you can stick a fork’ in the suburban experiment, ‘because it’s finished.’ His blog—in reference to the United States—is pungently titled ‘Clusterfuck Nation.’ And scarcely a week goes by without a reference to the crumbling Republic ‘taking its final slide down the garbage chute of history.’

“Yet Kunstler is not anti-American, nor is he a standard-issue liberal. He is interesting and unorthodox enough to have appeared in Rod Dreher’s Crunchy Cons, which dubbed him a ‘prophetic crank.’ A secular Jew, a fierce localist, a skeptic of left-wing cultural pieties and ‘techno-narcissistic’ science-fiction schemes, Kunstler might best be described as a patriot for an America that no longer exists: a country of small towns, tight-knit communities, human-scale development, and local entrepreneurship. We were never perfect, but we certainly don’t come close to embodying these ideals today. Kunstler is trying to nudge us in that direction.

“He was gracious enough to grant TAC an interview.”

    Share and enjoy.

    The Stranger by Rudyard Kipling.

    The Stranger within my gate,
He may be true or kind,
But he does not talk my talk–
    I cannot feel his mind.
I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,
    But not the soul behind.

The men of my own stock,
They may do ill or well,
But they tell the lies I am wanted to,
    They are used to the lies I tell;
And we do not need interpreters
When we go to buy or sell.

    The Stranger within my gates,
He may be evil or good,
But I cannot tell what powers control–
    What reasons sway his mood;
Nor when the Gods of his far-off land
    Shall repossess his blood.

The men of my own stock,
    Bitter bad they may be,
But, at least, they hear the things I hear,
    And see the things I see;
And whatever I think of them and their likes
They think of the likes of me.

    This was my father’s belief
    And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf–
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children’s teeth are set on edge
    By bitter bread and wine

Condensed Wisdom here, friends. As William Carlos Williams said, Poetry is the Good New for which the lack of men die every day. This is just such Good News or Gospel.

        For Malthuss:

“I received a letter from a bishop of Wasco County, who had been for almost five years condemning my Rolls Royces. In every Sunday sermon he was not preaching Jesus Christ, he was preaching me and my Rolls Royces. The day I was leaving he wrote a letter to me, “Now you are leaving, it will be great kindness on your part if you can donate one Rolls Royce to this church.”

        Now, this shows the man….

I informed him, “Would you like all ninety-three, or only one?”
And a letter came, “If you can give all ninety-three, that is just the right thing. You are really great. I’m very sorry that I condemned you for five years. You are a man to be worshiped.”

It is a very strange world if you understand people: whatever they are saying shows more about them than it shows about the person they are talking about.” –Osho

Scandal in the US: the Marines landed at the CIA headquarters?

It was done on the weekend, most likely because most of the big bosses at the Pentagon were resting at home. By the time they realized that something was happening, everything was actually over. The helicopters returned to where they had come from.

This is an absolutely unprecedented case. For one US government agency to arrange a demonstration of force to another is unheard of. As if a civil war is being prepared inside our own government!

It seems that the [Great] Schism between the old and the new political lines is coming to its culmination. The military is sick and tired of the fact that their people are wounded and killed due to the “side effects” of the previous policy, and the CIA stubbornly refuses to stop supporting the so-called “freedom fighters” in Syria.

Nobody will tell us who exactly gave the order to “make a fuss” over the headquarters of the CIA. Nobody will say who exactly in the CIA is making trouble. But there are troubles … Given the incident on the weekend – you can only hope that everything will be resolved very quickly and quietly.

In the meantime, everything is quiet for the public: “nothing to see here, folks, everything is in order, nothing to worry about.”

        Tucson,
I did check the site out…I was appalled. Whomsoever regularly visits sites of this nature are being shamelessly manipulated.

You understand that you can no longer believe your lying eyes and ears…technology now exists that can duplicate anyone’s visage and have that visage say anything, with its own voice, facial features, and gestures mimicked perfectly. The software for this hat trick has been developed by several companies.

I posted earlier that the internet allows even the wildly unhinged among us to find the like-minded, the acceptance, the vindication, and rationalization for any thought or action that can be conjured in the depths of human insanity or depravity.

This shit will just make you nuts….

Before It’s News is a citizen journalism outfit, where anyone can write something and have it go up. Or at least, that was the intention, as it was promptly flooded with conspiracy theorists and is now an outlet for an “unabashedly unhinged” take on world events and religious prophecy. The advertising is for survivalist supplies.

The site was founded in 2008 by dot com investor and Falun Gong practitioner Chris Kitze. Before It’s News describes itself as “People Powered News®”, and accepts stories from any political background, although its political stories are entirely from conservative viewpoints and Before It’s News goes so far as to have a dedicated “Obama Birthplace Controversy” category. The website entered the (sort of) mainstream when “chart guy” Donald Trump held up a chart at one of his rallies from Before It’s News.

The site is used by some conspiracy theorists to promote their Youtube videos about pet theories, with some articles being just a single Youtube video, and a significant amount of the site’s content consists of bloggers reposting their stories with links back to their own site. Comments are enabled for most articles, and are a joyous mess of conflicting crackpot theories (“that footage isn’t a UFO, it’s Project Blue Beam”) interwoven with indistinguishable Poe’s Law trolling.

The most interesting thing is that I came across these “news”, trying to verify rumors about the seizure of the CIA building in Langley by the US Marine Corps.

The day before yesterday, so much has been said about this, that I do not remember much, for example the fact that Hillary is already walking around the house with an ankle bracelet.

But one of the rumors was that Trump ordered children and wives to return to New York in the name of their safety – the moment is very acute.

And one of his speakers justified this decision with the beauty of Trump’s daughters, whose appearance in any place for any reason makes all the cameras turn in their direction and the event goes bust!

I like you’re heroic interpretation of things, although I’m still trying to draw a bead on Janos. After further reflection, I’m actually wondering if our Janos isn’t an internet created false-persona himself, although that would also mean admitting he’s pretty damn smart/clever for pulling it off so well for all this time. I’m still torn 50/50 on that question, although admitting it here obviously makes answering that question a good deal harder to pursue. For many of us – I’d like to believe most – deceit is an exceedingly hard thing to pull off authentically and consistently.

Archetypal Father? He’s unemployed. He can’t pay his own bills let alone a family’s.

The days of Archetypal Father knowing best and expecting a little nookie as his due for putting food on the table is all done and gone. Respect? Forget it.

“Father” is seen as an anachronism in this era of empowered-don’t tell me what to do-slutwalking women and heroic single mothers.

They say that women comprise the majority now in universities. So, as the old Virginia Slims commercial said, you’ve come a long way baby. But, never mind the strident insistence that women do things differently, that they’re morally and intellectually superior, what have women in their new roles done for overall betterment? What have they accomplished?

Hillary, besides never answering a question in her life, besides being as phony as a three dollar bill, is an open sewer of money-grubbing corruption. Theresa May every day and in every way shows her cluelessness. Mother Merkel assumed a mantle of great moral superiority in making a counter-statement to Nazi Germany, forgetting that the National Socialists bit the dust three generations ago.

What about the business sector? Remember the rock-star CEO Carly Fiorina? Remember the HP merger with Compaq? How did that work out? How did Marissa Mayer do?

No matter the superior smirks of women in regards to men, I think it’s fair to say there’s not much there in the record of women to back it up.

But what we do have is societal chaos and economic ruin. JHK is right in saying that it was men that royally fucked up national affairs. So, if women have something besides attitude, if they have what it takes to fix things, I would say to them what Charlie Sheen said in one of his immortal interviews: bring it. Bring it or shut up. Time is short.

      Archetypal father?

Hands down; for the U.S.A. at least: Homer Simpson.

Societal chaos and economic ruin is the punch line for the program. Doh!

Women have nothing more to offer than a PC version of more of the same. That was essentially the meaning of Hillary’s humiliating repudiation. We’re officially at the end of our rope. What’s next? Dwarves? Simpletons? [Oops, guess we’ve already gone there!] Computer algorithms? Trained animals? Incantations and divination?

      • volodya November 23, 2017 at 1:36 pm #

        Incantations and divination might work.

How quickly we forget the “good times”. We should just be glad we’re not on the front and our head stuffed with lead bullets or some other chemical industry wonder. I recall that manly game was called “geopolitical chess”.

The Two Witnesses shall preach in the Great City (Jerusalem, called spiritual Sodom by the Apostles) and shall destroy with fire any who try and stop them. Elijah shall preach to the Jews in particular and Enoch to the Gentiles. Towards the End, God shall allow the Antichrist to kill them, but He will then raise them up again.

Bingo! The sass is brass. What they really have is ass. Better this than nothin’. Better ass than trash. Better to have one than be one.

After watching this morning CNN programming, I came to a conclusion that you can get much further with a Twitter Account and US Marine Corps than with a Twitter Account alone.

Wrapping one’s self in the flag has become all the fashion in the US these days, regardless of one’s station in life or the time of the year. So much so, that one might easily conclude that it’s the one truly unifying factor – other than shopping of course! – in American life these days. A trait we share with dying empires throughout history. Anything to keep the myth alive!

Marines at Langley. The Army and tanks in DC. Possible?

“The city became the staging area for what became the Manassas Campaign. When Brig. Gen. Irvin McDowell’s beaten and demoralized army staggered back into Washington after the stunning Confederate victory at the First Battle of Bull Run, the realization came that the war might be prolonged, and efforts began to fortify the city in case of a Confederate assault. Lincoln knew he had to have a professional and trained army to protect the Capital area, and therefore began by organizing the Department on the Potomac on August 4, 1861,[1] and the Army of the Potomac 16 days later.[2]
Most Washington citizens embraced the arriving troops, although there were pockets of apathy and Southern sympathy. Upon hearing a Union regiment singing “John Brown’s Body” as the soldiers marched beneath her window, resident Julia Ward Howe wrote the patriotic “Battle Hymn of the Republic” to the same tune”.

The ancient past you say? Remember the saying, “the past is prologue”.

Full scale civil war is not imminent. But it lurks in the background, wanting full blown expression. However, it currently lacks an extensive vocabulary of malcontent and decisive, resolute, unified, civil and military leadership.

We’ve seen what the Left will do to destroy Trump and the Right.
They want his blood, but they don’t want it to show, excluding Kathie Griffin and Central Park theatrics. At least not yet.

Send in the helicopters Donald, scramble the jets, get the Army back in DC. Do whatever it takes. Do it to others before they do it to you.

        It’s Thanksgiving and I can’t resist.

A couple of turkeys making their guitars gobble.

Really, I wish I could play like that.

One of the comments said over in Gaza a Palestinian duo is doing a cover of “Another Brick in the Wall”.

          “…in the Wall” –tucsonspur

Speaking of the Wall, remember this Trump campaign quote?

“”I will build a great wall — and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me –and I’ll build them very inexpensively. I will build a great, great wall on our southern border, and I will make Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

          Lies. All lies. Impeach Trump.

          • tucsonspur November 23, 2017 at 6:01 pm #

Trump is the Wall. Maybe the last Wall before the Left causes our Fall.

The meal is done and I am happy.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, and let me be the first to wish everyone a happy, fulfilling holiday season.

Apologies to Finca for the harsh tone.

A little more wine, Kahlua and egg nog, and pumpkin pudding await.

Let us rejoice Janet, for your heart is good though your mind misguided.

    Happy Holidays to all!!
