“The difference between you and me,” Mr. Trump said to the ever more ghostly Joe Biden, fading mentally late in the action on the debate stage, “is that I’m not a politician and you are, and you’re a crooked politician.” Millions watching this spectacle might not have noticed, due to the media’s near-complete blackout of news detailing the Biden family’s adventures in systematic global moneygrubbing, but the Democratic candidate for president has political Ebola, a hemorrhagic fever of credibility, now gushing out of every pore and orifice.

Twitter and Facebook may try to squelch the story, but the evidence is all over the Internet now, like blood on a crime scene, in verifiable emails, texts, Snapchats, memoranda, and bank records that Ol’ White Joe Biden is at the center of a decades-long influence-peddling spree, selling his personal services to China, Russia, Ukraine, and any other country seeking favors in US government policy, and that this slime-trail of grift disqualifies him from holding high office as much as the irreversible rot of his cognitive abilities.

The “Laptop from Hell” affair has twelve more days to play out before the November 3 vote and the Democratic Party is in a terrible jam. Do they ask Mr. Biden to step aside, or do they keep running with him while the barrage of allegations and hard evidence pours down on them like so many mortar rounds on a besieged bunker? It’s obvious now that one way or another, voters are actually being asked to elect Kamala Harris president — but who asked for her? Only the disgraced and disabled head of the ticket, Joe Biden, desperate for a non-white running mate. Elsewise, she was so disliked by voters that she skulked out of the Iowa caucuses, ending her own run. Is Hillary ironing her purple pantsuit up in Chappaqua, awaiting the emergency call from her DNC?

The early 2020 impeachment gambit has finally blown up in the Democrats’ faces, too, as it’s now obvious the phony furor over Mr. Trump’s phone call to Ukraine President Zelensky was ginned up to smother any inquiry into Hunter Biden’s $83,000-a-month services to the Burisma gas company and its crooked chief, Mykola Zlochevsky, with help from then US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and several of her staff, as well as then Secretary of State John Kerry.

Interestingly, figures associated with Mr. Kerry (the 2004 Democratic party nominee), Devon Archer and Christopher Heinz (Mr. Kerry’s stepson) also happened to be business associates of Hunter Biden’s, and therefore the Biden family syndicate. Mr. Archer is currently under conviction, awaiting sentencing, on a federal securities fraud rap. If US attorneys out of the DOJ have any interest in talking to him, they have a lever to incentivize his testimony about many of the transactions involving Burisma in Ukraine and the Chinese companies that were funneling payments to the Bidens for “introductions” to US persons of influence.

The Democrats have a whole lot of bad behavior to defend, ranging far beyond the Bidens to the decades-long activities of the Clintons in their charity frauds, the related Uranium One matter — in which $150-million in Russian money found its way into the Clinton Foundation — and the deal that set up transfers of US secret computer tech to Russia’s Skolkovo project, which eventuated in Russia’s development of hypersonic weapons. Not to mention the RussiaGate coup operation to overthrow the president using false allegations supplied by Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic National Committee, and scores of high officials in a range of executive agencies.

Ironically many of those same schemers are at it again in the recent letter by a long list of former Intel spooks trying to discredit The New York Post’s reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop as “having all the earmarks” of a Russian disinformation op. At the top of the list of that letter’s signers, you’ll find John Brennan, CIA chief under Obama, and James Clapper, former Director of National Intelligence – both of them progenitors of the RussiaGate coup and liable to prosecution for seditious conspiracy. Can you smell their desperation?

Something else may be turning now, though, on this titanic hairball of corruption and deceit: mainstream media reporters starting to jump into lifeboats to save their reputations by actually reporting honestly on developments in this web of stories. The few early adapters to truth-telling may be the only survivors. The ones who stick with the ship of deception are going down into cold and darkness. And if President Trump wins reelection — a possibility despite polling that, in many cases, is just propaganda — the public will learn exactly how the Democratic Party became the enemy of the people.

Our host continues to believe that Biden will be replaced. Not going to happen. Will he win the election, possibly? Would it be a disaster, resulting in President Harris, probably?

    • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2020 at 10:15 am #

If Biden continues, due to problems with the purported replacement (Andrew Cuomo), and they manage to steal the election for him, it is entirely possible that they suddenly discover that Harris is not eligible to be president after all, due to her anchor baby status.

      Who does that leave?

      • So many liars October 23, 2020 at 10:34 am #

If a person has already voted for Biden/Harris, and if the DNC swaps Biden at the last minute for Clinton/Cuomo/Bernie/whoever, what happens to those Biden/Harris votes? How can they be transferred to the new candidate without the voter’s participation and permission? Wouldn’t a last-minute candidate switch constitute fraud?

        • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2020 at 10:40 am #

We’ve seen local elections were a candidate no longer in the race appeared on the ballot. Any vote for that person would be wasted.

This is one of the kinks in early voting, that no one bothered to think through.

          • bluekayak October 23, 2020 at 10:56 am #

Old Joe would stay on the ballot, but technically you’re voting for his electors and ultimately it is the ELECTORS who cast their votes for whomever. So if the DNC wanted to pull Joe and swap in Cuomigula or the wicked witch of Westchester they could do that by spreading the word to the Democrat electors.

          • Night Owl October 23, 2020 at 3:06 pm #

            “Cuomigula.”

            Damn, that’s good.

          • pranah October 23, 2020 at 3:08 pm #

You are correct, Beryl. I’ve worked on a local Absentee Voter Counting Board for four years. If an absentee voter cast a vote for a candidate no longer on the ticket–as occurred a lot with the Dem primary–that vote couldn’t be counted. (Other votes on the same ballot, for different offices or local proposals, for example, were still counted.) If, however, an absentee voter had voted for someone no longer on the ticket and had contacted the city clerk, the voter could get the vote spoiled and be allowed to vote again.

How it works is that there are lists of voters, with the ballot number next to the name. An absentee ballot is received in the office and the voter’s name checked on the list. The ballot–IN ITS UNOPENED ENVELOPE–is placed alphabetically in the person’s precinct bin. Envelopes aren’t opened and votes counted until election night, up in the counting room by sequestered workers. If that voter decides (in a timely fashion) to change his or her vote, the voter can contact the city clerk and request a new ballot. The board worker pulls that person’s envelope out of the bin, marks it “spoiled,” and places it aside. It is NEVER to be opened and will be archived at the end of the election. Then the person will be allowed to vote again, either by being issued another absentee ballot or by voting in person.

I’m in this situation myself this election. I’d thought I would work the November election, but due to mask and social distancing mandate in the counting room, I have excused myself–I can’t go over an hour with the mask without suffocating, and we expect the counting to go on for hours after the polls close. The AVCB workers are sequestered and can’t leave until dismissed. The 2016 presidential election was a circus. We weren’t dismissed until 2 or 3 am, and none of us knew anything about what was happening with the election. Wild night!

Anyway, I had received an absentee ballot because I thought I’d not be able to go to the polls in person Nov. 3, but now I can, so I went to the city clerk and had my ballot spoiled. I sealed the ballot up in the return envelope and turned it in. They wrote “SPOILED” across the envelope, looked me up in their computer and did whatever they do to record the spoiled ballot. So now I can go to the polls Nov. 3 and vote there.

People keep commenting on whether an absentee vote for a candidate no longer on the ticket goes to the person’s replacement–no, it doesn’t. I hope my explanation helps folks understand the process.

ADD to my earlier reply re: changing one’s early vote: I had no idea, but it looks like only seven states allow a voter to do this! They are Connecticut, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin–according to articles from November of 2016. I couldn’t find any references dated later. Here’s one:

            https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/pj-media-2/2016/11/01/buyers-remorse-states-where-you-can-change-your-early-vote-n48729

I live in Michigan and I thought everyone could change their early vote! Sorry to have misled people! Apparently the rules are buried in all the election regulations and most people don’t know about them, so there aren’t many changed votes. I did see quite a few ballots with votes for candidates no longer on the ticket in 2018. I certainly would have requested a new ballot if I were one of those people and I knew about the rule. Again, apologies, everyone.

        • Helix October 23, 2020 at 4:06 pm #

Those ballots were scanned through the shredder before the night was out.

BlueKayak, the DNC is just desperate enough and conniving enough to do as you’ve described. Doesn’t matter to them that such an action would be incredibly destructive to our nation. Fortunately, it sounds like it would be very hard to pull off.

Hmmm…maybe they’ll bring back LBJ. He’s still prob in better shape than Biden and was never accused of kissing chinese or ruskie ass.

    • scoubidou123 October 23, 2020 at 10:32 am #

I cannot understand how anyone can seriously contemplate Biden being replaced.

On the other hand I did not understand how Democrats could pick Joe Biden either. Such an underwhelming choice.

      • Beryl of Oyl October 23, 2020 at 10:42 am #

I did not understand how someone like Bernie, allegedly running against Joe, could fail to mention that his opponent was senile and corrupt.

Most of the dirt on Hunter and Joe has already appeared in the media in some shape or form.

        • TheShadowKnows October 23, 2020 at 11:11 am #

I think Bernie knows the score re: Biden, and understands that a Biden presidency will not last 4 years. He’s playing the long game.

          • Disaffected October 23, 2020 at 11:18 am #

I don’t think Bernie has a long game at this point in his life.

    • polly October 23, 2020 at 5:50 pm #

Agree. No chance. They’re committed and risk stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. What would be the status of votes cast before such an announcement?

    • Wizard of the Saddle October 24, 2020 at 1:10 pm #

Reason #1 Biden will not withdraw: Over 51 million ballots already cast. Kinda hard to undo that.

Reason #2 Biden will not withdraw: The Dems ironclad belief that their MSM and Silicon Valley Tech Gods allies will save the day by suppressing and / or “debunking” (Ha Ha), the influence peddling story.

Reason #3 Biden will not withdraw: He still believes that the brass ring he has been reaching for for 33 years is finally within his grasp.

Reason #4 Biden will not withdraw: He is a Trojan Horse. His only real job is to drag “The Camel”, (Kamala) across the finish line with him. Then he can friggin’ drop dead so far as the DNC and their minions are concerned.

Reason #5 Biden will not withdraw: TDS is a terminal disease. Once people contract it, they never get rid of it until IT gets rid of them. Sort of like those Antifa thugs who perished at the hand of the Boy Scout Rittenhouse in Kenosha.

So break out your popcorn machines and buy up a bushel of cryin’ towels to toss to the Dems on your block on election night. They are BLINDED AGAIN by their own propaganda and they will be stunned again.

If Hillary was the R.M.S.. Titanic of presidential campaign losses, then Biden surely will be the Andrea Doria.

Like the Bad Orange Man said: AMERICA will NEVER be a socialist country.

  2. vengeur October 23, 2020 at 10:13 am #

Biden looked creepy and feeble. Even after having Covid, Trump looked robust and strong.

The Chinese virus seems to have refreshed him. I think maybe a germaphobe conquering his biggest fear could be what did it.

You do know where the 1918 ‘Spanish Flu’ (not 1917 like the Orange Moron keeps saying) originated from, don’t you?

Do you really think it is a good idea to keep enabling trump’s xenophobia?

        • MrMangoOnMyShoulder October 23, 2020 at 1:00 pm #

          Xe-no-pho-bi-a

          – dislike of or prejudice against people from other countries.

          Kind of his job, no?

Every “world leader” does the same for their respective countries, whether or not they explicitly say it. People can pretend that we’re wired to live in a Star Trek utopia here on Earth, but thousands and thousands of years of history would disagree.

        • King of Comedy October 23, 2020 at 2:19 pm #

          @Prof

No one knows for sure where the 1918 virus originated. The first US cases appeared in Kansas but there were troop mobilizations and movements all over the place with WW1 in its final acts. But before you rule out our Chinese “allies” re: the 1918 virus, it’s probably worth considering that around 80,000 Chinese laborers were brought in to provide manpower behind the front lines on the Western front and those laborers were transported by train across Canada west to east. Another interesting fact is that a pneumonia like illness had appeared in China in the year prior to the pandemic. Yet another interesting fact is that the Chinese population exhibited a lower infection rate than all others vis a vis the “Spanish” flu implying a previous exposure and a certain level of herd immunity.

As I said, we may never know the origin of the 1918 virus. The 2020 virus on the other hand… we know damn sure where that one came from.

It is the spray on tan that does it.

I didn’t realise northern NY State was so close to central Florida or Alabama. I also didn’t realise the Twilight Zone had the internet.

I remember what this blog used to be like in the discussion of limits and energy. Now, it is painful to read and experience what it has become. I logged on this morning to see if there was some kind of focus beyond Zero Hedge and Fox News propaganda? Nope. Although, it does demonstrate the thought patterns of a failed civilisation and the route that leads to nowhere.

When this plays out, please remember just one thing. Don’t marry your siblings or close cousins. You’re already 1/2 way there cavorting in your silo.

      • Daddyotis October 23, 2020 at 3:14 pm #

Well buh bye, the Paolo. Don’t let the ol’ door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. You know, back when limits and energy were the topics du jour, the democrats had not yet gone full retard and the country wasn’t upside down because of it. JHK is simply calling it like it is, a purposely conspired undertaking to lawlessly evict a duly elected president. Limits and energy will still be here when the elections over.

      • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 3:23 pm #

How dare we not share Paulo’s ideology! We must be stupid, uninformed, bigoted, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and now “in-bred”. Thank you for your measured and well reasoned comments, Paulo. You are a national treasure – like that cave with all the bats.

        • King of Comedy October 23, 2020 at 3:43 pm #

My guess is Paolo likely hails from a “failed civilization” if you trace it back far enough… so he might have some expertise on the topic.

      • toktomi October 23, 2020 at 4:49 pm #

        @Paulo

The Universe moves on. Limits and energy were pertinent in their time. What is pertinent now is unspeakable where there is a crowd listening that might be influenced.

James is treading water, and most of the crowd hereabouts is either bots or creatures much simpler than bots.

I still, like you I suppose, cruise through periodically out of nostalgia for the days when “we” were still “learning something” together and offer up some personal cognitive explorations simply for my own development and pleasure.

The single most destructive thread that appears to tie most of humanity together in a web of self-delusion is the failure to grasp that the closest thing to truth than anyone can imagine is “I could be wrong”.

salt of the earth Americans, racist, bigoted, small-minded, parochial, willfully ignorant, armed to the teeth, and proud of it. ~Dmitry Orlov

Indeed Obama called half of America bitter clingers.

Hillary aka cankles called them deplorable.

And now his highness chief of the chumps smokin Joe Bidet has called us chumps to him I say takes one to know one you dolt.

Have the Democrats not learned calling middle America nasty names tends to piss them off?

I know Trump was reported to have called his voters something but the video is not out there and best of all the man claims to like this country which is far and away above any of the named fools above.

        Paulo,
I would suggest that “limits and energy” might, in the near future, be the least of your concerns.

  3. tlauria October 23, 2020 at 10:19 am #

Trump did a credible job last night but was it too little too late?

Whether or not Biden gets replaced, if the Dems pull off the heist of the next two millennia, they then pull out the 25th Amendment, which requires the VP – in this case Harris herself – and cabinet members to agree that the president is incapable of carrying out the responsibilities of the office, and we’ll see the grand plan played out in all its ignominy.

Then we will have lost the republic Franklin cautioned us about keeping.

  4. Vadrosaul October 23, 2020 at 10:19 am #

Haven’t the Dems installed puppets-on-strings among the judiciary and intelligence agencies that they have mastered obfuscation and manipulation enough to avoid any meaningful prosecution?

Sorry, JHK, but you keep imagining a scenario where the systems as is will suddenly become ethical, whereas in reality the systems definition of ethical is being redefined. Quite frankly, it’s going to take your actual long-emergency collapse, a return to agrarian dominance, and a resurgence in Judeo-Christian mores to correct our wokester world of faux-persecutions and virtual values.

    • DrTomSchmidt October 23, 2020 at 10:50 am #

Dem governors in MI, PA, NC, WI, all elected in the anti-Trump 2018 wave. Do you expect them to not play along with the DNC? I expect them to follow orders; of course, it’s the legislatures of those states that select electors, so…

      Interesting times.

    • MrMangoOnMyShoulder October 23, 2020 at 11:24 am #

I think it would just take the removal of the internet.

Out of chaos would come order. Not wishing for the nightmare months that would be unleashed from such an event, but as long as people think they don’t have to know how to do anything meaningful on their own in this society, they won’t.

      • Daddyotis October 23, 2020 at 3:18 pm #

Agree, Mango…as long as the removal of social media is part of said deal. It’s an interesting idea to think about. Picture millions of humans suddenly deprived of their artificial electronic dopamine hits, all at once, with no ease-down period. Now THAT would be something to see.

There literally would not be enough popcorn.

  5. Soloview October 23, 2020 at 10:21 am #

Biden’s corruption will not be an issue on Nov.3. Getting Trump out of the White House will be the one and only item on the agenda. That’s the only thing that matters. If Satan could do the job better than Biden, he would get the Dem nomination. I am not an expert in U.S. elections history but I doubt that any one candidate in the past had to face such a concerted, overwhelming, no-holds barred barrage of vituperative hatred by the established order as Trump has in this election. Of course, there is also Trump’s charming personality which does not help a lot, but still the onslaught is a thing to behold.

Look at all the people who found Donald Trump just fine, until he up and ran for president.
      Oprah comes to mind.
She used to do shows on what they were calling “inequality”, seeing it as a serious issue.
Then along came Donald Trump, of all people, with some ideas on how to actually fix it, and called her bluff.
      Now she hates him.

      • King of Comedy October 23, 2020 at 11:35 am #

        @Beryl

Oprah with an estimated net worth of $2.5 billion by her very existence calls the bluff on the fairy-tale construct of “systemic racism”. Never in the long history of human oppression on this planet has an oppressed group had members rise to such dizzying heights. To my knowledge, there are no Uighurs with their own network.

        • shabbaranks October 23, 2020 at 12:12 pm #

Amen. Finally someone calls out the lie of “systemic racism”, something that hasn’t legally existed in the US since the early 1960s and has long since left the scene amidst vast cultural change in the US.

May I suggest reading works of the following writers, all of whom are in some measure of African descent and know the American political and race scenes well:

          Thomas Sowell
          William Julius Wilson
          Glenn Loury
          Walter E. Williams
          Shelby Steele
          John McWhorter
          Jason Riley
          Larry Elder
          Keith Richburg
          Deroy Murdock
          Stephen L. Carter
          Coleman Hughes
          Leo Terrell
          Lipton Matthews

I was finally able to gain access to this post. Whew.

Today is the anniversary of the Hungarian Uprising. We are seeing an uprising of sorts against a communist takeover playing out on the internet.

That “tech giants” are censoring science relating to the COVID-1984 virus should tell you all you need to know about the legitimacy of these ongoing “restrictions”.

BTW, the “science” that they and the MSM will allow no evidence against, isn’t science by any stretch of the imagination, and never was.

It was a horrible plan for a globalist takeover, disguised as somebody’s theory on how you could potentially prevent a disease from spreading. A macabre experiment, sold to Americans under the false pretense that hospitals were in imminent danger of being overwhelmed (that was always bs), or that we lacked enough ventilators and PPE. Ventilators are not treatment, they never were treatment for a virus, and there never was a shortage, and people were being killed off with them even after we knew this.

The ventilator scam was a commie plot as well.

Face rags are useless and harmful. The mass testing, which still goes on. is useless and harmful.

It is no accident that they decided on this disease, at this time, to advance their agenda.

Polls showing Biden ahead are all bullshit. Made up numbers. The groundwork is being laid for the Left to claim the results of a Trump victory can only be the result of a rigged election.

Selling the narrative that Trump is behind by 7-10 points, leaves only one conclusion after he wins fairly – the election is rigged. By guess who?

The Russians. JFC, the Russians again? How many times will they keep going back to that same well? I guess as long as the useful idiots continue to believe it. I repeat, JFC. Over.

The big question is, “why did Joe Biden run?” Clearly, Trump had not gone after any of the corruption that was obvious with Biden. Also, after he was inaugurated, he explicitly said he was not going to go after Hillary. For most of us, this would be a reprieve: we would understand we had dodged a bullet.

This is not the way people in the deep state think. They really are like Lucifer: from hell’s heart they stab at you. If they had the information that Trump must have available to him, they would never let up.

So now you have the explanation for why Joe ran: they could not trust that Trump would leave well enough alone and they had to make sure they got their only person in there. One who is so corrupt that he could not reasonably prosecute corruption by anyone else. What a disaster for the Democrats, who once had a Senator like Frank Church.

Oh, on the above post, good reporting, I’d like to remind everyone that Andrew Cuomo has been involved with some of the same shady characters as Hunter. Andrew’s shady deals have resulted in people very close to him going to prison, while he remains untouched.

So far the only paper I have seen make mention of Andrew’s ties to Hunter’s cronies is the New York Post.

That’s also the paper Andrew blames for making much of his little boo-boo of forcing adult care facilities to take back residents actively sick with the bat flu.
He calls it political, just as he calls the DOJ’s request for records relating to that decision political, and won’t comply until after an election he is not a participant in.

That should also tell anyone paying attention that the ‘response’ to the ‘ro is a major fraud.

  12. SW October 23, 2020 at 11:00 am #

A prison cell is a cold and lonely place and someone who is most likely used to the finer things in life can be persuaded to share information. There’s another cache of emails for the Biden Boys to deal with:

“A separate cache of 26,000 emails involving Hunter’s dealings with a former business associate, Bevan Cooney, who is now serving time for fraud. The latest, which broke just before the debate, is perhaps the most damaging of all: first-hand testimony from Tony Bobulinski, another of Hunter’s business partners. Bobulinski says he met directly with Joe Biden to discuss some Chinese deals, which include companies with ties to the Communist party. He adds that Hunter told him and others that he always spoke with his father about these matters before making any moves. Bobulinski is now cooperating with Senate investigators, has offered to testify under oath, and has turned over three electronic devices with messages from Hunter that mention Joe’s involvement.”

Oops. The strategy so far has been “when they go low, you go high” (or in Hunter’s case, very high) b/c it’s all a pack of lies and our good friends at FB say it’s fake news and hate speech and Russia is at it again. I wonder how David Brooke will spin this on weekly appearance on PBS.

  14. stelmosfire October 23, 2020 at 11:04 am #

I’m curious as to how the ol’ folks at the Villages in FL will receive the Trumpster today. According to Biden we are headed into a “Dark Winter”. Only if he is elected. He said in the debate that we would have another 200,000 dead by the end of the year. Yea right. That’s 2857 deaths a day. That’s a 20% higher rate than the dark days in April when 2377 died in a single day despite Cuomo’s best effort to kill off more seniors. Covid rates are supposedly “spiking”. Yes rates are up because testing is up. Death rates are way down.

    • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 11:21 am #

Of course, according to Biden Trump is responsible for every one of the US Covid deaths. Before Trump no American ever died from the flu.

As for Obama and Biden sending out killer drones – 90% of whose victims were innocent bystanders; that is flushed down the memory hole. – along with the Joe and Hillary selling their offices to the highest bidder.

      • King of Comedy October 23, 2020 at 11:49 am #

It’s not widely known but the Obama administration came perilously close to a dress rehearsal for the current pandemic about a decade ago:

“It is purely a fortuity that this isn’t one of the great mass casualty events in American history,” Ron Klain, who was Biden’s chief of staff at the time, said of H1N1 in 2019. “It had nothing to do with us doing anything right. It just had to do with luck. If anyone thinks that this can’t happen again, they don’t have to go back to 1918, they just have to go back to 2009, 2010 and imagine a virus with a different lethality, and you can just do the math on that.”

The simple reality is that once a contagion breaches the confines of the initial outbreak, it’s going to run its course. Our “global partners”, the Chinese, surely had to be cognizant of this fact when they stopped all domestic flights in January yet let them continue to the rest of the world until March…

        • SW October 23, 2020 at 12:07 pm #

All true — and if Hillary were in the White House rather than Trump, the NYT would be praising her “heroic efforts” and she held the fatality rate to only 220,000 when (without her at the helm) it would have been millions.

Hard to believe anyone could have made Trump looks reasonably good as a President but Biden did it.

          • King of Comedy October 23, 2020 at 12:26 pm #

Another irony is that the initial focus from the social justice brigade as the virus made its inexorable march to these shores was xenophobia, what the least offensive nomenclature should be for the virus, and anti-Asian attacks (another sub-irony is that most of the attacks captured on video were perpetrated by the race which can never be blamed).

Ocasio-Cortez decried the (presumably) white racists who eschewed dining at Chinese restaurants while BLM street artist de Blasio made numerous ill-advised comments on the virulence of the virus that make Trump look like Jonas Salk.

The case fatality rate in the US is just a bit under 4% if the worldometer figures can be believed. A “case” being an infection requiring medical treatment. At this point, it’s clear that Covid disproportionately affects the elderly and those who are medically compromised. If anything, it points up how piss-poor our collective health is.

      • sophia October 23, 2020 at 10:51 pm #

        Helix,

Turn that around and it means that if you’re one of the minority who need medical attention for covid, your recovery rate is still 96%.

    • Night Owl October 23, 2020 at 1:31 pm #

200k didn’t die from COVID. They died from serious pre-existing conditions.

The actual number of dead was around 9k last time I checked.

The COVID narrative is a fraud.

      • beantownbill. October 23, 2020 at 2:27 pm #

We agree about a lot of things, Night Owl, but not on this topic. IMO, Covid is not a fraud. Maybe the official death numbers are not accurate, but at the least, Covid hastens many people out the door who were going relatively soon. That makes it dangerous and not a fraud. Although driving drunk deaths are statistically insignificant (what, 50,000 deaths annually out of a population of 330,000,000?) it is dangerous and definitely an issue. So why not Covid?

        • Night Owl October 23, 2020 at 2:48 pm #

That is why the word narrative was included.

There is most likely indeed a novel coronavirus that is killing miniscule amounts of people. This also occurs on a regular basis.

With this novel form, according to the stats, you have a 99% chance of surviving it unless you are over 70, in which case your chances sink marginally to 94-96%.

          The Covid Con.

          • SW October 23, 2020 at 5:32 pm #

            @bill

Reasonable measures have been taken to get drunk drivers off the streets but the restrictions don’t interfere with the majority of people’s lives. 50,000 still die b/c drunks will drive no matter what the consequences.

Covid 19 is no where near as lethal as SARS and at the beginning no one knew that so lockdowns made sense. When real data was available, policies should have been modified to reflect this but the first causality was common sense. And now we appear to have two entrenched positions and no one is willing to give an inch or agree on anything.

        • Q. Shtik October 23, 2020 at 5:33 pm #

Covid is not a fraud. – bean

          =========

I think fraud is too strong a word but I am skeptical as to the accuracy of the data. There are people who would like to see higher Covid death rates (the Dems?) and those who would prefer lower rates (the Repubs?). There is the question ‘did someone die ‘with’ Covid or ‘from’ Covid? I see a great likelihood that cause of death would be inconsistently determined, whether innocently or purposefully.

I prefer comparing total deaths from all causes in the U.S. this year vs last year (on a monthly basis). If you begin to look at worldwide data the picture becomes even more muddy because who knows what the accuracy of data is in a myriad of other countries.

          • beantownbill. October 23, 2020 at 6:13 pm #

Q, I did try to get meaningful total death data, but it’s harder to get than you would think. What I did learn, was that the death rate trend has been going down for years – a reasonable fact considering medical advances. But what was interesting was that in some years the rate went up a little, then continued the downtrend. What I wanted to know was, given the total Covid case numbers being published, did this affect the overall death rate? In other words, is Covid just a flu statistic, which varies year-to-year, or should it be counted as something that causes the overall death rate to rise? It’s complicated.

          • draupnir October 23, 2020 at 6:29 pm #

I looked for that data, as I wanted to compare current death rates from all causes with a previous rate from a normal year to date, and couldn’t find it. At least it isn’t easily available to me, and I do know how to research such things. I did find actuarial tables, but they only showed me that the death rate per 100,000, as a percentage, has been rising steadily every year for the last ten or so years. I should think such information would be easily available with a simple search, but it is not. I was surprised. Should I have looked by state? By county? There is really only so much time I’m willing to spend in such an endeavor, as it was an simply to answer my own curiosity. I wasn’t planning on writing an article.

          • sophia October 23, 2020 at 10:55 pm #

            Beantown,

My understanding from a few sources analyzing total deaths, is that covid has not really raised them at all. There was a spike but it didn’t really affect overall death rates. Some years the flu is worse than others. 2015 and 2018 were a bit higher.

      • Helix October 23, 2020 at 11:28 pm #

This canard has been debunked so many times it’s getting tiresome. I usually just let it pass, since it’s generally tossed out there by the willfully ignorant, but every now and then, I feel the need to confront this kind of disinformation.

Well it sure is not proper to say 220k Americans died of Covid infections only.
40% of that number died in rest homes in just three states and those state governors should be answering exactly why they decreed this!

        • GreenAlba October 25, 2020 at 8:44 am #

Thanks for that, Helix, an excellent summary.

Here’s a thought. Most of the deaths – certainly in the UK – are in men. Currently seven out of ten. I came across a calculator online where you could assess your own risk by working out your ‘Covid age’, adding on 5 years for, say, diabetes or obesity. The first thing I was invited to do was deduct 7 years from my age for not being male.

So, I wonder if we could classify ‘being male’ as a comorbidity and decimate the figure even further for Team 9000? 🙂

Meanwhile, my husband told me last night one of his colleagues has long Covid. He reckons she’s about 36/37. She’s had to reduce her sessions to one a week because of the disabling effect of her condition. She was about to take up a new job in a GP practice but when they found out she had long Covid they bounced her.

If somehow Biden is replaced, the uproar will be deafening…for a little while. It will show that the will of the people who voted for him is now being disregarded and their candidate will be decided for them (not that the candidates aren’t already decided for us, but I digress…).

The real fun will be when evidence starts leaking out showing that inside players actually planned, long in advance, his “last-minute retreat”. Couple decent high-level emails from back in May ought to do the trick.

    • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 11:34 am #

So Many Liars above raises the question on my mind. If BIden is replaced before the election, what happens to all those ballots already mailed in and the many more which will flow in with his name at the top?

If those votes are not counted, the Dems are sure to lose the Presidential race. Is it legal to count those votes for a Biden successor? I presume all the other votes on such a mail-in ballot would still be counted (i.e. for House and Senate, etc)

Any election experts out there who can answer that?

It’s truly uncharted territory but voters are choosing between slates of electors pledged to vote for one of the nominees at the Electoral College, not the individual candidates themselves. Remember after the 2016 election there was much talk about convincing Republican electors to switch their votes from Trump to Hillary. Since then some states passed laws requiring electors to vote for their pledged candidate on the ballot, I think some states already had such laws. That issue went to the Supreme Court which ruled just a few months ago that states are in fact allowed to require their electors to vote for their pledged candidate (the nominee).

Which states require their electors to vote for the pledged candidate is what’s important and I’m too lazy to search it right now. The bigger question is which states that do require feilty have the will and enough time to rush special sessions of their legislatures to change such laws and also have Governors willing to sign them. Regardless, it would have to be all of them – if Biden is no longer the candidate and his electors do win the state votes then just a couple states refusing to allow their electors to change their EC vote would be enough to swing the EC to Trump.

In other words it’d be complete chaos with dozens of unpredictable moving pieces.

      • pranah October 23, 2020 at 10:49 pm #

hmuller, scroll up near the top of the comments where I explain at length how a vote cast early for a candidate that drops out is not counted for the candidate’s successor. The voter can contact his or her city clerk (in a timely fashion) to get the first ballot spoiled. The ballot is located and withdrawn, and the voter can get another absentee ballot issued or go vote in person. That’s the gist of it.

Yes, all the other votes on the early ballot would be counted–just not the vote for the candidate that dropped out.

I know this because I worked on a local Absentee Voter Counting Board for four years.

They don’t have that far to go until the election and Joe will retreat to his basement and issue statements, is my guess. As bad as things are for him with all the evidence piling up and witnesses talking, he only has to hang on for less than two weeks.

      • MrMangoOnMyShoulder October 23, 2020 at 1:16 pm #

Agree. As long as the msm generally dismisses or ignores the story, Biden can easily ride it out for another two weeks. If he wins, then he’s pretty well golden and can just declare “C’mon man, that was debunked gargage long ago. Next question.”

    • sophia October 23, 2020 at 11:50 am #

But the DNC already showed that they don’t care about the will of the voters with the Deborah Washerman Shultz scandal re Bernie Sanders in 2016.

Oh I’m with you on that, sophia. Just know so many family/friends who are so willingly blind to any argument other than what they already want to believe.

But…if their vote goes out the window somehow, that might jerk some people to the reality that it always was going out the window, at least as far as their own self-interest was concerned.

    • Paul October 23, 2020 at 12:35 pm #

With all due respect, there is always a win for you voting, even it is is only to give you the warm glow that follows a nice, brisk walk to and from the polling place. If the hated candidate is a Fascist, voting for a different candidate means you have exercised your democratic rights in a democratic way. If the hated candidate is corrupt, your vote for a different candidate is a vote for honesty and fair-dealing. If all candidates are fascist and corrupt, then your write-in vote for yourself is your independent act of courage and defiance — attributes that are often in short supply in times like these.
I am not able to vote in U.S. elections, so please, please reconsider your contemplated action, and vote. So many people everywhere simply do not have that basic right.

      • Helix October 23, 2020 at 1:09 pm #

Agreed. But I’m getting pretty sick and tired of being presented with two abysmal alternatives. This place is dysfunctional, and this election is not going to help.

        • MrMangoOnMyShoulder October 23, 2020 at 1:24 pm #

Been that way for a looooong time. Samuel Clemens wrote plenty of commentary that sounds just like the comments here on this site 150 years ago.

There are always a few good ones that make it to a certain level, but they must just become compromised instantly after.

Paul Wellstone was potentially the last legit senator, back when he stood up up against the Iraq invasion (and meant it). Oddly enough, he and his family went down in a plane crash right a week or two before the next election. Huh.

The rest of the jokers that get to that level are a different breed.

          • draupnir October 23, 2020 at 6:42 pm #

I adored Paul Wellstone, may he rest in peace. He was a great loss to Minnesota. A friend of my mother’s was in a restaurant where he and his wife were dining. She didn’t hear the story he was telling his wife, but my mother’s friend reported that his wife laughed so hard she nearly fell out of her chair.

The Trumposphere will continue to make hay with this ‘scandal’. The question is, will anybody else care? The story is not going to make it into the mainstream unless news organisations can verify the sources or find other evidence to substantiate the claims.

    I’m not holding my breath.

    • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 12:44 pm #

I hope you’re not saying you believe it’s all a Russian disinformation campaign. The Biden lawyers actually asked if they could have Hunter’s laptops back. LOL

Do you think the mainstream news organizations are interested in verifying the truth about all this? Or maybe they’ll just ignore it, because no one cares about gross violations of law committed by Democrats. No sirree, such things mean nothing. Move along, nothing to see here.

But unproven Trump improprieties – well CNN will repeat those until the cows come home. – and not bother to issue a retraction when proven to be liars.

      • SW October 23, 2020 at 1:31 pm #

I think people would care about it and that’s why it’s not on the mainstream news. Minimizing or ignoring it is their best option. Huxley was far ahead of his time knowing what was coming and why:

“Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth. By simply not mentioning certain subjects… totalitarian propagandists have influenced opinion much more effectively than they could have by the most eloquent denunciations.” – Aldous Huxley

    • MontanaMan October 24, 2020 at 7:52 pm #

Harper was called every name in the book by “our” msm for 15 years..Hitler was the most common. A dictator. A racist or whatever.
He was an excellent leader. A common person who quietly did his job well with integrity.
Now we have a lying corrupt incompetent pretty boy who the msm plays nice with.
If Joe can’t win with the entire msm as his wingman then just go back to your basement.
Pretty much the same playbook here.
The “news” is dead to me. Has been for the past 20 years actually.

Having recorded and watched all of the major networks postmortems on the debate, it is clear to me that all of them have declared Biden corruption stories to be Russian disinformation and summarily dismissed them. They all believe that this story will die without anyone ever knowing about it. If you are not a NY Post subscriber and don’t watch Fox News, you aren’t going to know about it.

It seems to me that Biden will avoid reporters and the media will avoid asking questions for the next 11 days. It wouldn’t surprise me if Joe had to go into a convenient covid quarantine for a while.

    • ohyesiam October 23, 2020 at 12:11 pm #

Media can’t investigate the story if the NY Post doesn’t share the evidence and allow it to be independently verified.

      • shabbaranks October 23, 2020 at 12:25 pm #

That is already happening, as much of the physical evidence – Hunter’s laptop, cell phones of Bobulinski, emails among all the key players – are finding their way into the hands of the FBI and lots of members of the independent press.

        • ohyesiam October 23, 2020 at 1:52 pm #

First, you need to provide substantive evidence that the meeting between Biden and the Burisma official actually took place.

Second, you need to demonstrate wrongdoing.

In election season, these kinds of claims deserve a lot of scepticism, for obvious reasons.

So if you have anything more than allegations and grandstanding, you had better show it.

          • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 2:09 pm #

  25. Zoltar October 23, 2020 at 12:38 pm #

Once again, I stand in awe and appreciation of Jim’s assimilation and summary of the facts. In a better world, in which American citizens were well informed and not brainwashed, the imminent dissolution of the corrupt, useless Democratic Party would be assured. My expectation is that, after a protracted battle over whose votes to count, Biden will prevail, all of the prosecutors of Biden and Democratic malfeasance will be squelched, and half the population of this country will pretend that things are fine now, because “our guy” is in the Oval Office – just like things were fine while Obama betrayed us for eight years.

And a year from now Kamala will be the front for a Hillary administration. A whole lot of people will wonder “how did that happen?,” when it was the plan all along. And, again, there will not be one liberal peep about her being a terrible president, because she’s a little bit black, sort of.

Having had to study Hamlet for my pre-uni exams, I’m confused.

How can you be sent off something that is on you.

This mortal coil is a poetic representation of the human condition, and the troubles and toils which make it up – even the human body, if you like. Hence you shuffle it off when you die – even more so when you commit suicide.

So what is it the iniquitous ones are supposed to be being sent off? What are they on?

Hoping, since this question is asked nicely, that either one of the gentlemen will find it in themselves to answer politely, not emotionally or with insults. In a spirit of academic discussion …

            We’re all ears.

Remember it came from Shakespeare, so make your idiom make sense as a ‘modification’, which you said it was.

“When all is said and done, let’s re-make that ‘ol Clint Eastwood western and Hang ‘Em High.”

Above somewhere I commented that if the internet (or let’s amend that say the power grid in general) went down, justice would likely devolve back into being doled out in the ways it once was. Public punishment/execution is such a crude concept in today’s world, and since we were kids the stories of such history has always been appalling. But it does still happen in some places…and depending on ones’ viewpoint of right or wrong, it would seem that it does tend to work in dissuading people from brazenly taking advantage of their fellow citizens. (until those with the power of the gallows start brazenly taking advantage of their fellow citizens lol…begin cycle again, repeat).

People would have no screen to hide behind and would have to conduct business and all daily life face-to-face. Would be a lot more dangerous than the current lines of protection those in power currently enjoy.

It would appear things have nearly gotten out of control.

Genital mutlilation is going too far, but I would certainly like to see a return to enforcing the criminal laws against adultery, with guilty parties being open to civil litigation for damages as well.

It is a scandal that someone can destroy someone else’s life for the sake of a jump, and damage the lives of children, and then get to walk off with cash and prizes awarded in a divorce.

And adulterers should only in extreme circumstances be awarded primary custody and their adultery should be recorded as a felony. And other parties to the felony should not be able to have anything to do with the children, post dvorce.

You want to fuck someone else, get a divorce first. Then you can advertise access to your genitals on Craisglist if you like. Until then, try not to display a little more self control than a monkey at the zoo.

I remember posting here in 2016 that Hillary was going to win (I wasn’t happy about that), so my track record in elections isn’t good. All I know is that no matter who wins, we will not be happy with the near- and intermediate- term results.

Justice is just a human construct. The universe doesn’t care about justice, IMO. Stars explode and annihilate entire species without warning; space rocks slam into the Earth and dinosaurs die; dark energy pervades the universe such that it eventually suffers a heat death. That’s not justice.

So whatever happens in and after the election happens. Apparently there’s no logic nor fairness to it. Let’s discuss it after November 3rd.
In the meantime, buy food and other necessities and hope for the best.

    • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 8:36 pm #

Yeah, that dark matter is really something. The universe has about 5 times as much dark matter as normal matter. The dark matter passes thru us all the time, as if it’s out of phase, in another dimension vibrating to another frequency.

If the Universe holds enough matter, including dark matter, the combined gravitational attraction of everything will gradually halt the expansion and precipitate the ultimate collapse. Over time, galaxies, then individual stars, will smash into each other more frequently, killing off any life on nearby planets.

But if there’s not enough matter, the universe will expand forever and dissolve into entropy.

But both those possibilities don’t worry me as much as the fools at CERN trying to open a portal to dark places and things we should leave untouched. But I digress.

    • hmuller October 23, 2020 at 8:39 pm #

I should have prefaced my remarks by saying dark energy repels, dark matter holds things together. We don’t know which will ultimately prevail many billions of years from now.

      • beantownbill. October 23, 2020 at 9:43 pm #

So far, dark energy definitely prevails, at least according to current measurements. I hope it isn’t so. If it is, then the universe will die a heat death (= no energy, no matter, no nothing) forever.

        • Kim October 24, 2020 at 4:42 am #

So what happens to consciousness, once that happens?

Or is consciousness just a heat-related phenomenon, like the steam off a cup of tea?

          • hmuller October 24, 2020 at 11:15 am #

I don’t know about you, but If I’ve been conscious billions of years, I would welcome death.

          • beantownbill. October 24, 2020 at 3:41 pm #

            Who knows?

Heat is a thermodynamic function. It is a measure of matter and energy activity.

        • hmuller October 24, 2020 at 12:32 pm #

Here’s another theory. The universe quits expanding at some point, then contracts into a pinprick singularity. And the big bang happens (again?), the universe expands, the cycle of events repeats in exact, perfect detail. The Greeks called it “The Myth of the Eternal Return”.

So the same universe cycle has repeated an infinite number of times. That’s one way to look at it. But stop viewing time as somehow outside of and overarching all the cycles. The universe is like a movie imprinted on a DVD; it’s unchangeable. But it’s essentially one not infinite copies. Imagine, you could (if sufficiently powerful) zoom into any time and place and focus on what’s happening there.

          • beantownbill. October 24, 2020 at 3:36 pm #

You’re talking about what’s called the Big Bang Bang Bang Theory.

          • hmuller October 24, 2020 at 4:27 pm #

I think you’re talking about the Chicago Mayor’s idea of a normal weekend in the hood – the Big Bang Bang Bang Theory. Only add another 50 or so “bangs”.

Actually, it’s not funny. It’s tragic. All the academic identity politics studies indicated that electing a black, female, lesbian midget as Mayor would usher in Utopia. What went wrong? Other than she’s weak, stupid, and clueless.

Mainstream media reporters will not utter one word contrary to the Dem party line. It would be career suicide. Just take a look at the casino betting odds. Biden is a 2:1 favorite to win.

If you bet on Biden, you must put down $2 to win $1. If you risk betting on Trump, you need to wager only 52 cents to win a buck. That means way more $ is predicting a Biden victory. Money talks. Nobody in their right mind would bet $2 to win $1 if they weren’t fairly certain of a Biden win.

Indeed, he is corrupt and rotten to the core. And it is incomprehensible how anyone with a brain cell working can’t see it as plain as the light of day.

This tells me the media has already won by whoopin’ Trump with an ugly stick. They’ve tarred him so badly that Biden’s corruption is completely ignored.

    • Helix October 23, 2020 at 4:01 pm #

Perhaps that isn’t true. And it isn’t just the candidate. The entire Democratic party with their owned media are ready for a revolution and world government/police state. Is that really what you are ready for?

      • Kim October 24, 2020 at 4:48 am #

        @ Helix

“It’s pretty sad when one candidate is as ghastly as the other.”

That may be so, but perhaps you could explain to us why you think that. In some perspectives you may be right.

But if you mean to suggest that they are the same in terms of their policies – that the two candidates are interchangable – then that is obviously not so.

And if you were of that opinion how would you explain the incredible animosity towards Trump of both the legacy media and the social media giants? They certainly do not regard them as interchangable.

It’s been my contention that the old-school grafters have little appreciation of the dangers of modern communications technology. They do things on the surface that they think will shield them when using internet technologies, but do not wholly understand the persistence of digital communications. They thus rely on the MSM (and increasingly social “media”) having their backs (and there is a surprisingly great deal of literal intermarriage between the Left/Deep State and the talking heads if one bothered to investigate).

Hillary used a covert server, thinking this would shield her self-dealing, but all those communications are routinely backed up and also entirely visible to the NSA. Hence the rabid need to regain political power at any cost. All the PC platitudes, Covid this and that, BLM, and green new deal yammering are simply levers to regain, retain, and extend power.

Joe is a bit wiser than reckless HRC, in that he has learned to outsource communications and carefully keep the money spigot operating at a safe distance, routing the graft through family members, never directly to himself. Yet, he did not account for the digital persistence of these activities. It doesn’t help that his prime point man is a sloppy drug addict.

Once the digital thread pulling starts on these nefarious activities, the whole edifice comes crashing down and all the media can do is completely discredit themselves in the offing.

On the plus side, as I’ve said here before, after four straight years of unfounded and fruitless Democrat-led Deep State investigations, Donald J. Trump is apparently the most honest man in modern history to hold the office of the US presidency.

JHK- I’ve read your blog silently for, I believe, over a decade. I first came across you when I was interested in oil production, energy issues, etc along with names like Ruppert. I have to admit I currently think you have either gone extremely batty, are conducting a very large, multi-year troll, or are on to something larger than life and people like me will owe people like you a large apology and heart felt gratitude for staying the course. But I really can’t tell which one is true. My issue is you seem to claim all kinds of things in these blogs as facts and seem to play judge, jury and executioner pretty frequently but I see, almost without fail, a gaping hole of actual evidence in these blogs. I am political Independent without question, I have absolutely no use for either current party. However, I will not just believe in what you are saying just because you have a talent with words.

Please provide actual evidence to back up these claims you are making, I will take the time to read them, as I’m guessing others will. For example in this latest blog, how do we really know it’s H Biden’s laptop? What exactly is the evidence that leads you to claim that H Biden has done something illegal? What actual evidence is there that VP Biden took a “cut” of this money? He claims to have released 20 some odd years of tax returns, shouldn’t it show up there somewhere?

Again, I will gladly issue an apology if required but I would personally like to see links or some way to see the evidence for myself of the things you claim in these blogs.

Anyone – JHK or anyone engaging in this comment section, please provide any evidence you have of anything JHK has been ranting about recently.

I am not saying it isn’t true, I am not saying it is. I AM saying one shouldn’t believe a bunch of flowery language that sounds good without facts and evidence. I AM interested in a functioning democracy and rooting out corruption. I AM interested in evidence. I don’t have a horse in this fight, other than justice, etc.

So, Cook, recognizing that in our current situation, any information/evidence we receive is ‘circumstantial’… there is no absolute proof of veracity. For instance, what exactly would convince you that it was, or was not, Hunter’s laptop? Perhaps being handed the computer & magically acquiring the tech skills required?

It’s pretty easy to eliminate the propaganda mongers in the media… then consider the thoughtful observations of the remaining few. SF, above, dropped a few key names, start there. Then employ common sense & your gut feelings/intuition to see the obvious.

That’s what “Professor Lugnut” does. He pronounces his value judgments and opinions, then believes this constitutes some revelation of objective and scientific truth, (because it came from him)..

Indeed. Taibbi and Greenwald were some of my favorite sources for news and opinion.

They are one step away from voting Trump. The only thing stopping them is that they fear being totally pushed out of the “progressive” community, which they know is largely a fraud. It seemed like a real resistance during the Bush years though.

It has been quite instructive to watch otherwise sharp individuals fail so miserably. Jimmy Dore and Chris Hedges fall into the category as well.

How can anyone prove what’s really going on? No one can. As an example, let’s say the actual recordings are released. How do you know they weren’t altered, just by hearing them? Computer programs can perfectly mimic someone’s exact speech, so how do you know the recordings weren’t created in a studio and are phony? The level of technology in these matters is incredible (same for video – we’ve gone far beyond Max Headroom level). Many people suffer from hallucinations that they swear are real.

Here’s my point: Eventually one has to make a decision about the veracity of anything, and that is the personal decision of the individual.
I happen to have the sense that JHK is a person of integrity. He may or may not be correct in his conclusions, but it’s my considered opinion that I can trust the details he’s basing his decisions on are accurate. I also believe he doesn’t have any self-aggrandizing hidden agenda like the troll, Professor Lugnut, claims is true. In any event, all this will be over soon.

But poll 100 or 10000 ordinary Democratic voters and I guarantee most of them haven’t heard a thing about any of this. Unless the NYT puts it “above the fold” with the sort of headline they’d use if there was a whiff of a Trump scandal, the voters don’t know and don’t care. It’s too late. Another reason the Dems pushed so hard for mail in ballots; get ’em locked in early and it’s too late to change their vote, even if Ole Joe were found to be the reincarnation of Freddy Krueger!

India has 4 times our population crammed into 1/3 of our land area. Slums that are incredible in their scale. Many of the good Indian doctors are in the US where the money is. Yet they have half our death rate. Explain how that is even possible. How many people did you personally know that died from this scurge?

India has the second highest number of diabetics in the world.

“One in six people with diabetes in the world is from India. The numbers place the country among the top 10 countries for people with diabetes, coming in at number two with an estimated 77 million diabetics. China leads the list with over 116 million diabetics.”

            https://www.thehindu.com/sci-tech/health/india-has-second-largest-number-of-people-with-diabetes/article29975027.ece

I don’t know if you have ever been to India, but I can assure you that it has been some decades since the bulk of the population walked around looking like the Mahatma.

In Delhi, 45.5 of males and 49.8 of females are obese.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obesity_in_India

India, with four times the USA population, should have covid fatalities at least equal to those proposed for the USA. But they don’t.

And with covid being a respiratory disease, I should also mention the issue of air quality in India. It is – as in China – a real threat to the lives of the people who live there.

You have to see it and live in it to understand how bad it is. And it is not just on occasional days. It is every day of the year. A brown and almost palpable sludge hanging in the air.

When you get off the plane at Delhi airport, it is so smokey – inside the airport building! – that you think the city must be ringed with forest fires. But no, that is just how it is day-to-day.

            But yeh,

            1. Covid, not so much a problem in India

            2. The Paris Climate Accord excepted India and China from CO2 limits. (And incidentally Biden wants the USA to rejoin that.)

The whole world media, everything you are told every day, is the greatest heap of bullshit ever disseminated on a single life-occupied planet.

“Do they ask Mr. Biden to step aside… one way or another, voters are actually being asked to elect Kamala Harris president — but who asked for her?

“The Times We Live In” are asking for her. No, not asking… summoning, calling forth, conjuring, demanding. Not real, flesh-and-blood human beings, but the misguided Spiritual Fog of presumed widespread and pervasive National racism and guilt and exclusion and calls for Reparations for the sins of American slavery and oppression. A Harris King(Queen?)dom is America paying part of its penance tab and serving a judicial-sociological sentence of punishment and partial begging for forgiveness (from who, or what, exactly?) of the widely accepted narrative of presumed racism and White Guilt. This of course does not mean racism does not exist. But it does mean that not all persons with pale skin are racists and thus no penalty should ever be demanded of them. And no one recently and for a good long time has employed any slaves to any extent. But those little inconvenient facts will not resonate with the multitudes of Americans today who are eager members in good standing of the I’m Oppressed And Offended And Wronged Church And You Owe Me of the Most Holy Order. But all Americans of all colors and stations will be paying this price.

Yes, we sure do have plenty to apologize for. Terrible wrongs are being done to people of all colors every day. But be careful about who one is accusing for causing those wrongs and be doubly careful over from whom demands are being made of to seek restitution and apology for those wrongs. Throwing a lifeline to someone like (her) just reeks of expediency, desperation, pandering, and an exercise in not rewarding someone because of true accomplishment and worthiness of the Office but just handing out a participation trophy just for showing up and having the right look to pander to The Times We Live In.

In America, the “right look” to hold power used to be White and Male. OK, it seems we’re done with that. Now, it’s the polar opposites. Does merit ever enter into this? It never did before with the palefaces, and not today either when The Other Look is all that seems to matter. The pendulum has swung way over. And America may just tip over from the big swing this time.

Our host asks “who asked for her?” Another good question is… “WHY?” Answer that and you get the answer to Who.

It’s EXACTLY like 2016 all over again. The Democrats’ campaign undermined by email leaks. This time, their bodyguards – the mainstream media – were prepared. Sadly for them, enough people (we hope) don’t read, watch of believe them anymore.

I wonder how much of the propaganda and disinformation will actually work on the the American public. I can’t believe anyone would ever want to vote Democrat again after the spectacle the last few months – rioting and looting in the middle of a pandemic, leftist thugs forming “autonomous” zones, “Defund the police”, statues being torn down, media complicity in all of this and defense of it, the macabre eruption of the woke movement and cancel culture, the threats to the decent citizens of America, the shameless derision of America, its history, traditions and values etc etc.

Truly, as James pointed out a few blog posts ago, Joe Biden – who is rather close to his last breath and is unlikely to last another 8 years – is a mere stalking horse to something much more sinister.

    • tucsonspur October 23, 2020 at 8:51 pm #

We can only hope that the voters don’t blame Trump for all of the chaos, that they don’t go anti-Trump because of George Floyd and some perception that he’s fueling the racial fires.

I think that the MSM is still a big concern. Too many outlets, too many gullible people.

      • shox October 23, 2020 at 11:36 pm #

That’s another thing. I’ve been appalled at the level of Jungian “psychological projection” which leftists indulge in, where they project their OWN evil side upon their enemy. Who’s rioting, tearing down statues, burning down cities? Not Antifa or BLM, but the mythical “right wing” – the Proud Boys (whose leader is Hispanic I think) is the best they can come up with. Who’s trying to rig the election, trying to win at all cost, refusing to relinquish power? Not the Democrats, who passed a law requiring mail-in ballots, with all the chaos that this brings, but Trump. The single, solitary figure of Trump, who stands alone fighting against all of them.

Disgusting. Kunstler interviewed an economics professor on the KunstlerCast a few weeks ago who was afflicted with this psychological ailment. He rambled for minutes about how the right wing is staging an insurrection, trying to seize control by any means. It was painful and infuriating to listen to.

From what I can tell the propaganda and disinformation is very effective. The disconnect is truly disturbing.

I have some raging liberal friends. Prop 15 is on the ballot which is an assault on Prop 13 and will eventually raise property taxes. (As if they aren’t high enough in CA) It is endorsed by SF Chronicle, LA Times, Biden, Kamala, Newsom and more.

Yet they will vote no on Prop 15, and vote a straight Democratic ticket when it comes to elected positions.

They just cannot connect the dots.

      • shox October 23, 2020 at 9:57 pm #

        @Richechex

“Yet they will vote no on Prop 15, and vote a straight Democratic ticket when it comes to elected positions.
They just cannot connect the dots.”

Well put. Did you watch the Yuri Bezmenov interview with G. Edward Griffin? About how the final result of KGB subversion is, to use Yuri Bezmenov’s words:

“To change the perception of reality to such an extent that, despite an abundance of information, people are unable to come to sensible conclusions about reality in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their communities and their countries.”

In another presentation Yuri elaborates slightly on this, saying in effect, that the goal of subversion is to get your target to see his friend as his enemy and his enemy as his friend.

So it is that young Americans churned through the leftist educational system have been programmed to hate the greatest country and system of values every devised, and wholeheartedly embrace Marxism/Leninism/Socialism – which, through repeated experiments, has demonstrated its disdain for human life and dignity, destroyed countless economies and countries, and in many cases altogether destroyed the human spirit.

How is this possible? How can nonsense override truth? How can a people be trained to pave the way to their own suicide? The KGB spent decades honing the art. The Democrats and the media mob have adopted KGB tactics and pressed them into service in their desperate final push to destroy American altogether.

        • Kim October 24, 2020 at 12:57 am #

          @ shox

How is this possible? How can nonsense override truth? How can a people be trained to pave the way to their own suicide?

Interesting subject. Lots of contributing factors which I am sure the Tavistock Institute could explain.

One factor is the “everyone gets a prize” education and child raising system. People never learn that they can be wrong. Or even that there are right answers and wrong answers. So they can’t cope with it when they envcounter disagreement with their current ideas. They take it as an existential threat if they feel the might have to change their mind on any topic. Result? Eyes and ears closed to reality. And hysterical responses to dissent.

Also the education system has apparently destroyed the idea that a good argument/justification begins with a statement of first principles and argues from there. How often do the trollish commenters here actually make step-by-step arguments and how often do they just engage in crybaby complaining and footstamping?

Another problem is that social media training has made people very vulnerable to shaming language and negative social labels. People are very obedient nowadays and will follow any passing crowd. Consider how many people today have tattoos. A woman works in a childcare center and she has thigh tattoos? A man works for the IRS and has full sleeves? People are utterly victims to fashion.

The result of all of this is that you people who can’t argue in a sensible way; all they can do is say things like “racist”, “mysogynist”, or offer some tired insult and then they feel safe.

Of course, there is also the problem of dysgenics. The USA – indeed the West – is every year becoming racially more Third World. The IQ and behavioral profile and politics is thus also becoming more Third Word. This is just going to get worse.

Overall, the problem is national immaturity and the national dsygenics. The answer? At this point, well-defended kralls.

          • shox October 24, 2020 at 2:25 am #

Thanks for your generous response and astute analysis. Everything you said about the educational system is correct. James Kunstler even wrote an outstanding article about it in 2017, which I always come back to time and again. I even use many of his words when forming my own thoughts on the subject:
            https://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/beyond-cynicism-america-fumbles-towards-kafkas-castle/

It’s not often that I come across someone who points to the dysgenic trend which is being forced by the leftists upon Europe, the US and even to an extent in Australia. But it’s refreshing when I do. I follow Jared Taylor’s work very closely. Stefan Molyneux also did a number of videos pointing out that once the average IQ of the population falls below a certain level, democracy can no longer function, because it relies heavily on an informed, educated and intellectually vigorous populace. Demographics is destiny.

France is currently bearing the fruits of its decades long idiocy of importing hordes of Muslims and totally different ethnic groups, of washing away the much less fertile indigenous Europeans, and yet expecting the European identity and legacy (such as democracy, the rule of law, respect towards women and minorities) to remain intact. We’re seeing riots by Muslims effectively demanding that free speech be abolished, after Charlie Hebdo published some more Mohamed cartoons. When do we see the same Muslims rise up in outrage at concentration camps, forced abortions, mosque-demolitions, the erasure of language and culture, perpetrated by the CCP against Uighurs in China? Never. Not even in the Middle East. In fact, these countries go out of their way to praise China.

Indeed dysgenic is a MAJOR problem in the west. But I expect that in the years to come, once energy and resource depletion kicks in and society falls upon extreme hardship, people WILL revert to the animals that they were for the first 200,000 years of their history. The vigorous and intelligent will dispense with their politeness and tolerance and kill off the unfit. There will be no place then for compassion and “social justice”. The fertile inherit the earth ONLY if the strong are kept well fed, domesticated, docile and lulled into sleep. Once hunger wakes them up, they will claim their pound of flesh.

Yep. Here’s how it could have gone if you’d been able to counter disagreement with your ideas:

GreenAlba: [makes point, new to most people, probably, regarding the 1533 Buggery Act, introduced under Henry VIII, with a good encouraging push from Thomas Cromwell, for reasons she explains.]

Kim: “That’s interesting, GreenAlba, I didn’t know about that. Do you have a reference, by any chance?

GreenAlba: “Of course, Kim, here you are:

            https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=TfBYd9xVaXcC&pg=PA363&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false

No, I didn’t know about it either. The things you learn, eh.

See how much nicer that is than being triggered by your own ignorance and the inevitable lacunae in your education?

    • shox October 24, 2020 at 3:35 am #

You can choose to be too embarrassed to vote in the present election. Just remember this: once the Democrats come to power, you will never have that luxury again. They will turn the whole country into a one-party state where the election is a mere formality, just like in California. Read Michael Anton’s excellent exposition of how the Dems have taken strategic measures to keep themselves in power indefinitely in that God-forsaken state. One of their cynical (yet very effective) tactics is demographics-engineering:

From “The Stakes – America at the Point of No Return” (2020) by Michael Anton
      ——————————————————————————————-

The founders, however, did not intend massive concentrations of lockstep voters to overwhelm the votes and preferences of everyone else through sheer demographic might. When Jefferson and Hamilton skewered one another over the pros and cons of big cities—home of dangerous urban mobs to the former, engines of economic dynamism to the latter—they agreed on the potential danger from massive voting blocs easily controlled by monied interests.

Needless to say, voters did not “consent” to the last fifty years of mass immigration, which has entirely transformed the electorate of the country. It was foisted on them by the ruling class in order to squash consent by effectively voiding their votes. Indeed, in order to bypass consent, the ruling class explicitly misled the American people about what immigration “reform” would do. Here is Senator Edward Kennedy on the Immigration Reform Act of 1965 (also know as Hart–Celler):

“What the bill will not do: First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same… Secondly, the ethnic mix of our cities will not be upset… Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigration from any one country or area, or the most populated and economically deprived nations of Africa and Asia.”

Every word of the above is false; everything Kennedy assured Americans would not happen has in fact happened. One result is that, in today’s America, for every Wyoming senator casting a vote on behalf of a mere 578,000 people, there are millions of red Americans living in blue states who may as well not even bother to vote, ever. Their voices are never heard.

States such as California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, and now Virginia are one-party owing almost entirely to mass immigration. A few big cities and counties are crammed with the recently arrived who — together with the oligarchs and valet-class liberals who beckoned them in — overwhelm the votes of everyone else. This is how a state like Virginia — cradle of the American Revolution and home to four of our first five presidents — suddenly, just like that, became implacably hostile to the first two amendments to the United States Constitution. Five cities and counties — three adjacent to Washington, D.C.—essentially dictate to the other 128. This is the sort of brute-force majoritarianism that our founders warned against and took pains to prevent.

I agree with your premise and will put more thought into voting. My choice would be Mean Mister Mustard as a matter of fact. I think he will win even better this time around, after what he has learned from his visits to the world’s premier authoritarians.

As for the blues, I’m already cancelled, shamed and despised for my views. It’s is truly a third-grader mentality. I guess it makes them feel young skipping back and forth between lines playing hopscotch with invisible chalk, or something like that.

        Shox,

There was a time in the distant past when the term “Blue” had an entire different meaning…it, in fact, was in common usage to describe a particular racial group.

          @elysianfield

I think that’s common knowledge, and assumed in any serious discussion. All this madness seems to have REALLY ramped up with the advent of social media. With this medium, a small minority are able to vastly extend their reach and amplify their influence and infect huge populations with their lunacy, unchallenged. Could you imagine this happening BEFORE the age of instant communication? Imagine the sheer effort it would take for such groups to traverse the country and try and feed people with their silliness. Imagine the mockery and derision they would be greeted with. They don’t need to expend such effort anymore. They have moved into your mobile device, into your bedroom, and made you addicted to their poison.

I HIGHLY recommend the new Netflix documentary “The Social Dilemma,” if you haven’t done so already.

            shox,
Yes, we both lived through the “unconnected” period that framed the majority of our lives. The Internet is providing a change, a revolutionary change, to our social order. Who knows how the final chapter will be written? I can only consider that the Internet, and all it entails, might not be a net positive to humanity and it’s sense of order.

The war on all professions/vocations/avocations that are deemed “too white” is nothing more than racism by any other name.

At this point, the war on whiteness is nothing more than an admission by the elites manufacturing public opinion that they want your dog to die.

Why? Because veterinarians are “too white.”[Pet Owners Are Diverse, but Veterinarians Are Overwhelmingly White. Black Veterinarians Want to Change That, Time.com, October 21, 2020]:

As a child, Tierra Price was mesmerized by Dr. Dolittle, portrayed by Eddie Murphy [was Dr D really black in fantasy land?]
in the 1998 film—not only because he could talk to dogs and sad circus tigers, but because he was a person of color who treated animals.

      • JohnAZ October 24, 2020 at 11:33 am #

The minorities are here and increasing rapidly. Some opinions, mine included, have been that they must be assimilated into mainstream, common culture society according to their respective talents. They were here, what else can you do with them.

The past year has changed my mind. Thanks to the division tactics of the Democratic Party, the assimilation will no longer be possible. A permanent wedge has been thrust between the different elements of American society that is permanent. Why? To get rid of Trump! To create the uniparty by putting all the hate-filled focus in one direction. To destroy the Constitution. No wonder they want to destroy Barrett, she stands in their way, more than Trump in the long term. As an originalist, she stands in the way. The destruction of the Supreme Court must occur in uniparty eyes.

It is too late, even if a miracle happens and Trump is re-elected, the damage has already occurred. I see no way this country will ever meld together. The question is, how will the schism happen. What is to be done with all the different ethic and racial groups, they are here. How will the European White community preserve itself? Can the United States survive as one unit? Is e pluribus unum a sick joke of the Masonic minds of the Founding Fathers?

The American experiment is set to fail in my lifetime! It sickens me!

Hehe, anyone watched the 80’s/90’s movies Weekend at Bernies and Weekend at Bernies II?… about two guys who drag around a dead man, treating him like a puppet, pretending that he’s still alive, all in an effort to use him to get what they want.

Here is “Weekend at Bidens.” I found out about it from the Fox News website:

    https://www.breitbart.com/law-and-order/2020/10/23/watch-blm-demands-15-percent-during-seattle-trader-joes-occupation/

The marchers chanted demands that the store donate “15 percent at least” to the Black community. They went on to harass customers and store employees, demanding they join the cause.

Earlier this month, BLM activists invaded another Trader Joe’s in Seattle by forcing their way through the door.

In September, BLM activists went to another Trader Joes to protest the “lack of access to grocery stores.” They also said “capitalism exploits the working class.”

    There’s those food deserts again.

Whitey shameless. Whitey got a lot to answer for.

    • BackRowHeckler October 24, 2020 at 5:59 am #

Here’s what’s next for Seattle: grocery stores like Trader Joe’s, Aldis and Whole Foods, tired of the harrassment, shoplifting, threats, carjackings, and robberies, quietly closing their doors, one by one, until every last store is gone; replaced by grimy ‘Bodegas’, with bars on the window, gang members out front providing ‘Security’, and a large, crudely drawn sign over the door: WE ACCEPT FOOD STAMPS.

That’s what happened Connecticut cities at any rate. And it will happen in Seattle too. Big lefty pols don’t mind so much as the subject of ‘Food Desert’ is a handy campaign issue every 2 or 4 years, and quite effective too.

That pinhead AOC was raving about the racist food deserts last week, saying how hard it is to get basil in Brooklyn. Was she making pesto? Where will she get the pine nuts?

Apparently she has to take an Uber to one of the fancy districts to get it. No, seriously, this is what she said.

Hollywood should make a big screen weepie out of it:

        “No Basil In Brooklyn”

I also hear that the annual Beaujolais arrives late in that part of the world. Oh, the humanity.

      • BackRowHeckler October 24, 2020 at 10:44 am #

Well, one Bodega feature I forgot to mention — these Bodegas being the life saving oasis’s in the ‘Food Desert’ that they are — are spools of barbed wire strung across the roof of the building that houses the Bodega.

Lefties are always insisting that people and places be welcoming … now how welcoming is that?

I think I should also mention roaming pit bulls in these ‘Food Deserts’. In the past week two elderly women have been attacked by pit bulls in two different ‘communities’, one dead, another saved only because a police officer happened by and shot the attacking dog. Presumably these ladies were walking to the Bodega.

After looking at those sneakers I saw a group at the corner false-flagging me, meaning Bloods throwing Crips sign.I refused to play this homicidal game, approached them, rendered military salute (which is NOT a gang sign) and explained my presence in their area. That was the end of Act I

On the way out my car was surrounded with young boys wearing red about 10-11 y.o.They looked agitated and were pointing to the nearest bodega. When I lowered car window they snatched my smartphone. After short negotiation I purchased my former smartphone for $15.

            BOTTOM LINE:

The Bodegas are also EBT cash machines. Buy some over priced food with your EBT card and then sell it back to the proprietor for 50 cents on the dollar. He sells the same shit over and over at the beginning of the month when the cards are reloaded. Why buy food for your kid when the state will feed them three squares a day for free anyway.

That’s exactly what is going to happen. Over the freeway from me, is a ghetto neighborhood priding itself on having the most diversity. There were no grocery stores. After the City and Sol Price dumped a bunch of money in the area, Albertsons took a chance and built a shiny, new huge grocery. There were patrons for sure. There was constant shoplifting, vandalism–the staff called it a jungle. Albertsons didnt make it 5 years. The building remained vacant for several years. It’s now a bodega.

So long as half the country thinks that the Democratic Party provides a valid and valuable public service, Deep State actors who act on behalf of monied interests have the political cover they need.

So, no worries for Hillary, Comey, Brennan, Clapper and their ilk, they stand straight and tall, real marines all of them, because in the estimation of the fools that vote status quo they are the best of the best of the best, patriots one and all, fighting for what’s just and right, in defense of Democracy and the Constitution of the United States of America.

What a joke. It’s hard to believe that so many people are so delusional, especially racial minorities – the most stalwart Democrat voters – who really think the Democrats act in the interest of the downtrodden when the opposite is true. How long will it take before these people see what’s right under their noses?

I was just reading some of Orwell’s stuff on the nature of British society, and in certain passages he refers to monied interests and to permanent members of the governing bureaucracy and the military who he sez would rebel if real economic and democratic reforms were enacted, in other words the Deep State, such as it existed at the time. And what we’ve seen is that very same rebellion in the United States at the election of Donald Trump by that very same class of people that Orwell was talking about.

Why so? Not that Trump threatened to reform governing institutions, but rather he threatened existing economic and trade and investment arrangements, that is, he spoke in favor of the interests of the American working class, those formerly employed in that huge swathe of America that used to be home to vast industrial operations that have been moved to China and Mexico and other places to the great detriment of those millions of American workers.

Of course Trump also spoke in favor of America’s interest generally, something not done in polite and enlightened society where talk of national interest is regarded as retrograde, redolent of past times when gays and Blacks were persecuted and moms were under the thumb of abusive and authoritarian husbands.

See, depictions as in Leave it to Beaver and Ozzie and Harriet you see were made-for-TV propaganda designed to distract from the oppressive reality of everyday life. This is according to a certain set of academics and ideologues.

But I was there and I saw up close when Dad had a job and Mom could depend on him and could stay home and take care of us. And there were many, many millions just like me. Were things better for most of us back then? You bet they were. Have things gone to shit since then? You bet they have. And the Democrats were NO less guilty in what took place than their political counterparts.

…As is usual, what he said….

    • hmuller October 24, 2020 at 12:09 pm #

This may sound off the wall to most people. When Nixon severed the dollar from gold in 1971, he set in motion a slow progression of events. When money is purely fiat, those who stand closest to the printing press profit disproportionately, i.e. the financial interests.

Look at inflation adjusted charts of income (by class) and you’ll notice the working class has stagnated since about 1971. The top 1% has skyrocketed in income. (See link below.)

This income stagnation was initially balanced by women going to work. Two incomes were better than one. But the process of impoverishing the working class ground on. Unions were gelded and failed to protect jobs and workers. The better paid manufacturing jobs were exported.

The S&P capitalization represented by “financial companies” went from 10% to 40%. A house of cards was constructed to continue the illusion of prosperity, when in fact main street and the rust belt demonstrated another story. Since the dollar was the world reserve currency, other countries took our IOU’s and kept sending real products. That also masked the decline.

And now we approach the end of the story. The potemkin eye-wash, the extend and pretend games, the doctored balance sheets – it’s ending in a vertical rise in money supply to keep the system alive a little longer. Gee, what could go wrong with that? Meanwhile, we all squeal like hungry piglets for our next delicious stimulus check. And those in charge tell us, “remain calm, all is well.”

      I think not.

      https://www.advisorperspectives.com/dshort/updates/2020/09/17/updated-u-s-household-incomes-a-50-year-perspective

      • volodya October 24, 2020 at 1:06 pm #

Not off-the-wall at all. The only niggle is the “stagnating” of working class incomes. Looks to my eyes a whole lot more like a vertical plunge.

It’s not just the pumping out of IOUs that rots the foundations, it’s the incontinent money printing, all part of the something-for-nothing scam that product-exporting countries fell for, well, for at least a time.

But, you can’t fool all of the people all of the time, especially not those wily operators in China who firstly took all the physical manufacturing assets that idiot American CEOs were willing to give them, plus all the IP they could either extort or outright steal, but then the Chinese caught onto the con and they started not only exporting physical products but also financial assets in payment for their modern-day Silk Road construction and also in payment of real estate in western cities.

The latter had large scale effects all over the world as the Chinese laundered all that excess through places such as Vancouver and London and NYC. But it’s like Herb Stein said in a phrase deserving of the Nobel in economics, the only worthwhile bit of economics ever devised in that woeful field of study; what can’t go on, won’t go on. And, as sure as we sit here, it won’t, no matter the exertions of the Fed and other central banks in trying, as you say, to keep the system alive for a little longer.

Who said that history repeats first as tragedy, then as farce? Hegel or Marx? Can’t remember, but the monetary machinations that created so much misery and mess in Europe in the 1920s and that arguably gave such men as Hitler some of their best arguments, repeat in the here-and-now and give Trump and his supporters some of theirs. So is the Trump era the farcical turn of history’s repetition? Or did those wise men get things backwards, with history repeating first as farce?

If so, the tragic part still awaits us as no doubt there will be a further repeat as nobody ever learned from history and nobody ever will, least of all our so-called intelligentsia.

        • JohnAZ October 24, 2020 at 3:16 pm #

Just a reminder that Trump is the square peg in the round hole on the path the Democratic socialism.

Can you imagine the current group of idiots in the Deep State really running our economy like the Dems think they are capable of?

Trump is not the nouveau Hitler, or Lenin, or Mao –

The Democrats are, or more precisely, the Progressives are.

    • beantownbill. October 24, 2020 at 1:10 pm #

You’ve just written the recipe for revolution. Right now life is at the best level it will be; things will get progressively worse. The common man puts up with all the current crap because he can turn on the tv or play video games and veg out. Why rebel when you can escape?

But soon that’ll be difficult to do. Taxes will increase or money inflated to the point of being essentially valueless. No more unlimited phone data plans or $1,100 iPhones; not many choices for pro sports viewing because a number of teams will go under. HBO, Netflix, et al ? Fuhgeddabodit. Trips to Disney world. Whaddya crazy? Tired of the bank harassing you over late mortgage payments? Join the club. Maxed out credit cards? Tough shit.

At some point, the passive, oblivious American citizen will say ENOUGH! Then the fun will start on the way to a new reality.

Winter has come. But don’t you think Spring will come again in the fullness of time?

The movie Rebel Without a Cause showed the Father refusing to take off a frilly apron despite his son’s agony. It seems prophetic somehow, symbolic of Americans refusing to open their eyes because they know what horrors will be revealed when they do. The son’s agony is that of those who eyes are open.

Why did Biden warn that a “dark winter” is coming during the debate? He said “dark winter” twice. Global responses to a coronavirus pandemic were modeled and gamed out during Event 201 in October 2019 right before or during the release of “Covid-19”. In 2001 the US military simulated a smallpox attack on American citizens. The code name for the simulation was Dark Winter. Is it possible the covid pandemic is just a test run?

I told my wife a year ago that Pres Trump will be re-elected easily and that only thing that could prevent it would be if the economy crashed out. And, I wondered out loud if there was a power, or united group of powers, that could actually cause an economic crisis before the election. Then covid hit. It undid the last 3 years of work that Pres Trump did to significantly improve the economy and give us hope for a better future. Was covid just a coincidence? An authentic black swan? Or, was this by design? Very very scary and unsettling if this was done by design.

Tucker made the point last night, by asking the question, ‘why doesn’t the Left call for defunding the FBI’? The answer was because the Left controls the FBI.

“The fault, dear people, is not in our stars, but in ourselves that we are underlings”. WS, amended

How much abuse will we suffer, how long can we go on under this moral decay that eats away at our minds and souls? Why hasn’t the Right been out in the streets surrounding FBI headquarters, along with the homes of Wray, Pelosi, Schiff, Waters, Schumer and the like?

Where are the massive demonstrations showing our outrage? As Bean mentioned above, the ‘demonstrations’ are before tv sets with six packs of soda or suds, that’s where they are. Doesn’t matter if the Dems get in, I’ve got my bottle and the chips and dip right here, and next week I’m takin’ out the atv to chew up some back country.

It’ll be nip and tuck for Trump. He’s losing seniors. If only he had the common sense and the political insight to do the right thing on the mask back around July, wear one and recommend wearing one.
Biden would have been largely disarmed in the debates, and Trump’s image as an empathetic president would have been boosted. It’s basic CYA.

Some people might call the current situation farce, some tragedy.
Some might call it disastrous, and disaster always repeats. So it is history repeating in that sense, but Trump himself is no repetition. Trump is a singular aberration.

Yea Obama did a “Drive-In” rally in FL and all he talked about was the virus. From the shots I saw it looked like there were 200-300 people there and half of them had their faces buried in their phones. That is all Biden talks about also. He did a couple drive-ins today in front of 1-200 people. He said again we are in for a “Dark Winter” . OOH I’m so scared. He also repeated that 200,000 more would die before the end of the year. He is so full of shit. He is running a fear campaign. That is all he has.

Dr. Noel is literally Blowing smoke or vape or whatever the hell it is. Fills his mouth then Blows. Boy, does he ever. We don’t breathe or talk that way. What about the smoke’s volume and density?

Masks aren’t perfect, I think that you may be able to catch the virus while wearing one, but it can also help to avoid it. It’s just plain, old, simple common sense. It’s a physical barrier that can stop particles as well as pass them, and with social distancing it’s all we have so far.

Anyway, my point about the mask regarding Trump is that recommending it was the wiser political move, regardless of its merits.

          • Night Owl October 25, 2020 at 6:02 am #

It isn’t about what you think.

The only study ever done on cloth mask efficacy shows they let 97% of particles through.

Meanwhile, they also restrict oxygen intake and collect massive amounts of bacteria. Almost noone wears them correctly or disposes of them within the required time frame.

Masks are actually worse for human health than doing nothing at all.

It is estimated that 40% of all alleged US covid-19 deaths have occurred in nursing homes and long term care facilities. 45 out of 50 American governors did not mandate that nursing homes take in covid-19 infected patients. However, five did and their actions appear to have caused tens of thousands of deaths. They’ll get away with it for sure though because they are members of that class of people who are free to do whatever they want law or no law. They are:

Andrew Cuomo (Democrat) – New York
Phil Murphy (Democrat) – New Jersey
    Gavin Newsom (Democrat) – California
    Gretchen Whitmer (Democrat) – Michigan
    Tom Wolf (Democrat) – Pennsylvania

Rahm Emanuel, the famous Democrat, restated his mantra “never allow a crisis to go to waste” in March 2020 in regard to responses to the coronavirus pandemic.

That is good news no matter the scale! Very sad but not unexpected to learn the veterans are treated with such disrepect. Trump just signed an executive order either yesterday or the day before making federal employment essentially “at will” like most employment in the private sector is. At least that is what I understand from it. So that would lay the foundation for a total purge of the Obama holdovers and other assorted seditionists throughout the federal agencies including the DOJ. Maybe with a more objective and non partisan DOJ these governors would be held to account. But for now the DOJ appears to primarily be another arm of the Globalists-DNC-Big Tech-Wall St-et al Axis of Established Evil.

I also agree that Trump is an aberration. If it were not for Trump there would be no real mainstream opposition whatsoever to the Marxist takeover. Most Republicans were entirely complicit with the Democrats in that endeavor and even now Never-Trumpers still are. The Marxists have great institutional power, resources, and energy that they always bring to the fight. The Right without Trump was and would be a disunited and ineffective defense against the onslaught. Even if Trump wins reelection it doesn’t mean that the Right or Conservatives will gain any new ground. Don’t expect to win if you aren’t playing for keeps. Let’s check who is repeating the same mistakes.

Re Marxist takeovers, I have come across an interesting article in American Thinker on how marxist organizations go about organizing large scale riots and demonstrations around the world.

It includes photos of Opal Tometi, co-founder of Black Lives Matter, whooping it up in Harlem with Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro.

      To quote a Twitter caption:

“The event in Harlem provided the Maduro with an opportunity to reach out to American progressives and to share a stage with black thinkers and activists, including actor Danny Glover, Democratic New York state Sen. Bill Perkins, and co-founder of BlackLivesMatter Opal Tometi.”

The article also notes that BLM was also given status in Venezuela as an “official election observer”. Because they are famous for their interests in fairness.

The entire article is worth a glance, if only to confirm that this entire sham, from covid to BLM and Antifa is part of a long-planned globalist-marxist project to destroy the USA.

No. This is about the destruction of the powers and principalities of the Earth. Yes, God appoints rulers over us. And they shift and change with time. Did not Caesar ultimately become illegitimate and impotent in the face of the invaders? Who were also brought against him by God? I personally do not believe in the passivism that most Pop Christianity professes. Nor did I suggest spiritual problems could be fixed by politics. Though politics is truly all about morality or the lack thereof if you really think about. Jesus ran the money changers out of the temple and condemned the spiritual and political leadership of the day. And when He returns so too will He annihilate the rulers of the Earth and subjugate all to His will.

Zombie movies are very popular now. When I was a kid, vampire and werewolf movies were big. I think that the zombie movies posit some new big virus pandemic that turns people into mindless, rampaging, ignorant, brain-eating, unemployed, politically correct, equal, gender-neutral zombies without health insurance who emerge from the cities to attack the suburbs? For some strange reason, the zombies can’t drive cars or use guns, but the zombies do seem to be social in that they tend to flock like birds to attack the socially isolated terrorized people who try to flee in their cars. Have you ever noticed that in these BLM protests that there are often images of people trying to flee the protesters in cars, and they often run over the protesters trying to escape being eaten?

I understand from whence the concept of “fake news” comes, as there has been an awful lot of propagandizing coming from the mainstream media since 2016. But when you start just automatically writing off polls that don’t tell you what you want to hear, you really do run the risk of locking yourself inside a bubble where you just believe what you want to believe. What’s disturbing is how many different kinds of people seem to want to do that these days.

    • JohnAZ October 25, 2020 at 11:14 am #

The reason why the polls are questioned is that they are controlled by the extreme Liberal MSM. They are being used as propaganda to discourage conservative, White voter turnout.

The Dems use every trick in the book. They have nothing to run on so negative campaigning is their modus operandi. They also have control of the MSM. Or vice versa. A Trump victory would provide a much needed set back to the monopoly of the Liberals in the MSM.

Everything is fair in love, war, politics and unfortunately sports any more.

Trafalgar polling, who gained fame by projecting Trump’s win in 2016, has projected a Trump win again. They use much larger sample sizes and more technical data reduction than the MSM uses.

Any poll that says one person, in our evenly divided country, can be double digit advantage Cannot be taken seriously.

“Any poll that says one person, in our evenly divided country, can be double digit advantage Cannot be taken seriously.”

And that’s the biggest shame, JohnAZ, because a double-digit advantage on the day is the best thing that could happen, to shut people up and get on with governing the country.

I don’t comment much about your elections. I don’t like Trump as an individual but my guess is that he’ll win. And for the people on here that I do respect (not the ugly-mouthed ones that I don’t) I actually find myself wanting you to get what you want even though I don’t care for him or his self-aggrandising ways. Didn’t think I’d say that four years ago.

And I do understand why most people on here would be devastated to see the discredited Dems take over. There’s really nothing to be said about Biden, but I only actually heard Harris speak for the first time a few weeks ago (didn’t watch the actual debates) and she came over to me as a totally vacuous character-free zone with insincerity and opportunism seeping out of every pore. That’s on the basis of about 10 minutes, if that!

I don’t envy you. That’s a mess you’ve got over there. We’ve got one over here too, but you do everything bigger. 🙂

        • beantownbill. October 25, 2020 at 1:09 pm #

Emotionally, I’d prefer Tump to win because Biden wouldn’t be long for the presidency – just look at him from a physical point of view. Whether he’s senile or not or is just a scatterbrain, he is openly corrupt. But from a more intellectual viewpoint, I believe it makes no difference who wins because our way of life will suffer no matter the winner. I’ve steeled myself to not have my explode over the next president. Where are all the truly important discussions on issues that really count?

Your mess is just as bad. Much of Europe is swirling down the same drain as we are. Anyway, enjoy life as much as possible. Scotland inherently seems to be more wise than us. Am I right about that?

          • GreenAlba October 25, 2020 at 1:50 pm #

Well, Bill, I agree with you about Biden – I hardly really count him as a hypothetical president because I agree with the people who think he’s just a front for Harris to slide in. And I find her awful, although admittedly I did only give her 10 minutes! But I find I can’t tolerate much more than that from any of them. Including ours. And including Trump, I’m afraid.

And yes, I did say we had a mess too – yours is bigger and more threatening, perhaps, just because you’re bigger and more powerful. The UK is a very small, has-been country (ex-empire – no shame in that since it’s just what happens to every empire), although some people haven’t got their heads round that and insist that we should play above our weight on the international stage because of what we used to be.

I can’t be bothered with it. We were the first nation to industrialise and, because of that, we were the first to use up our own national resources, then take over a huge chunk of the world to use up theirs. Not the fault of anyone alive now. But we need to cut our coat according to our shrinking cloth, and nobody’s talking about that here either.

None of which means I don’t love my country! I do, including the big elephant part of it over the border. They’re my folks too and I don’t want separation from them.

We (the UK, not Scotland, except across the central belt) have a dense population based on the ability to commandeer other people’s resources, even it it’s just importing food, raw materials and manufactured goods now, rather than just taking them at the barrel of a gun, more or less. In that sense, you’re better placed, since you live in a huge, diverse country, which still has significant natural resources.

Not sure how Scotland would fare on its own. Too much emotion and delusion around for my taste, so I don’t think wisdom is any more copiously dispersed than anywhere else. We aren’t over-populated like England, though, but that means lots of industries (notably ‘hospitality’ and other tourist-related things) simply can’t get the staff now that we’re out of the EU, so the businesses that don’t survive Covid also won’t survive the lack of available staff. It’s seasonal (very) so locals can’t live on the wages. I don’t know what the answer is. Hotel owners have been going as far as India, apparently, to try to find seasonal staff. The Poles liked it here and we liked them! Lots of them came over after WWII as well.

          • GreenAlba October 25, 2020 at 2:38 pm #

Trump has been an amazing President. I think he has shown that you can effectively run an anti-globalist, anti-war, America first agenda and have a good economy. He has also illustrated, simply by his presence as a non-DC insider, that the MSM really is fake news, and that the Deep State/Security State is a real thing.

Going forward we know that we do have real choices when the correct people come along.

A Biden Presidency will simply usher in another populist, eventually. The neo-liberal, pro-war philosophy of government only enriches multi-national corporations and their shareholders. Biden, and politicians like him (which is legion, btw) will put the US back on a footing where it is advantageous to leave the country for cheap labor and less regulation elsewhere. It’s a return to fascism.

    Well, ladies and germs;

Good news…and bad news from Washington State. The good news is that several Murder Hornets were fitted with radio trackers (using dental floss) and tracked to their redoubt located in a hollow tree. The article goes on to say that “Scientists” then hosed the Murder Hornets, destroying the nest, and the tree will be later cut down and remove, like a statue of Christopher Columbus, or Lincoln, or some Confederate General.

The BAD news, however is very disturbing. It has been disclosed that Murder Hornets can…spit poison! Spit poison just like a deadly Cobra or a woman scorned. I live in Oregon, and that is just too goddamned close to where those bastards live.

      No respect for USAF 🙁

Dem damn live hornets are impossible to train. It is much easier to build one from scratch.

“A team of researchers in conjunction with the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research is developing what they are calling a micro aerial vehicle (MAV) that will undertake various espionage tasks. The robotic insect can effortlessly infiltrate urban areas, while being controlled from a long distance; and it is equipped with a camera and a built-in microphone.

The device has the ability to land precisely on human skin, use its super-micron sized needle to take DNA samples and quickly fly off again. All the people feel is the pain of a mosquito bite without the burning sensation. The drone is hard to detect and it can inject a micro radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking device right under skin. It can also be used to inject toxins into the enemy during battle.”

Looks like we’ll be going back to suits of armor, though probably an improved more comfortable modern version. Then the fashion industry will devise sexy versions for women. With the Government trying to constantly zap us, we’ll have to wear them all the time, even to bed. Or perhaps bug free safe rooms will be devised for bed and bath rooms.

If you can get people to believe in contradictory ideas that are logically inconsistent, then you can probably get them to do anything? Go b..omb your friends who are your enemies…. “The present dominant values (xenophilia, cosmopolitanism, narcissistic individualism, humanitarianism, bourgeois economism, hedonism, homophilia, permissivenes, etc.) are actually anti-values – values of devirilising weakness, since they deplete a civilization’s vital energies and weaken its defensive or affirmative capacities.”
? Guillaume Faye, Why We Fight

“Today, the mere idea of aristocracy is incompatible with the dominant ideology. But every people needs an aristocracy. It’s an integral part of human nature and can’t be dispensed with. The question then is not ‘For or against aristocracy?’ but ‘What kind of aristocracy?”
? Guillaume Faye, Why We Fight

“To recreate a new aristocracy is the eternal task of every revolutionary project.”

“What we strive to restore and re-animate will never come from the promises of the middle class politicians, but will come instead from the spirit of the last Delphic prophecy, which foresaw that, ‘One day Apollo will return and it will be forever’.”
? Guillaume Faye, Why We Fight

The last Delphic prophecy? How sad is that? Is Apollo that same as Christ? And is George Faye a veritable John the Baptist? Only this time Christ comes as Kalki, riding on a White Horse and holding a sword.

I just laugh when people say a life gas like c02 is a problem but they ignore the real issue of radioactive material with no safe home for it to be stored.

Want to kill life on this planet?

Contaminated water that could soon be released into the sea from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant contains radioactive carbon with the potential to damage human DNA, environmental rights organization Greenpeace has warned.

The environmental group claims that the 1.23 million metric tons of water stored at the plant — scene of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster — contains “dangerous” levels of the radioactive isotope carbon-14 and other “hazardous” radionuclides, which it says will have “serious long-term consequences for communities and the environment” if the water is released into the Pacific Ocean.

To cool fuel cores at the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) has pumped in tens of thousands of tons of water over the years. Once used, the water is put into storage. But nine years on from Japan’s worst nuclear disaster, storage space is running out, and the government is still deciding what to do with the water. Authorities, including the country’s environment minister, have indicated the only solution is to release it into the ocean — a plan facing opposition from environmental campaigners and fishing industry representatives. On Friday, the Japanese government postponed a decision on what to do with the water.

    Satan laughing spread his wings.

    Gen’rals gathered in their masses,
Just like witches at black masses

    Death and hatred to mankind,
    Poisoning their brainwashed minds
    Oh Lord yeah
    Politicians hide themselves away
    They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role for the poor, yeah
Time will tell on their power minds,
    Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess,
Wait ’till their judgement day comes, yeah
    Now in darkness world stops…

Sell it to the US Military. They can use it to put out fires in Muslim Nations, much like they used radioactive metal in bomb materials. Or hell, give it to our Firemen since the War on Terror has come home to roost.

I didn’t know the Japanese government postponed their decision. Even if the postponement is only for a few days or weeks, we’ll have that time with less radioactive waste in the ocean.

A few years back I finally read Simon Winchesters The Atlantic; in one chapter he discusses the tons of radioactive material the Soviet Union dumped into the Arctic Ocean in the 60s and 70s, also — and this surprised me — tons of radioactive waste dumped off the coast of Florida by the US Navy in the 1960s. I think those old Japanese Godzilla movies were on to something.

With 2056 nuclear detonations since 1945, the entire world is already contaminated. And this might explain, too, why people seem to be growing more stupid, less healthy, fatter and uglier every generation since about 1950. I mean how else would you explain some of the female SJWs in the streets of Portland, 2020?: 50 lbs overweight, blue hair, pasty white skin tatted up, shrill, aggressive, violent, and walking out into freeway traffic to make a political point … has there ever been women such as this in the entire history of western civilization? I think nuclear contamination is as good an explanation as any for the existence of these creatures.

I read a pretty horrific web study on high-priced sushi / sashimi ordered as takeaway from ritzy Japanese joints in Frisco: spot readings of various flavors of radiation were taken and some of the tasty-looking morsels were red-hot with radioactivity.

I’ve looked for the link in vain since that time but cannot locate it. In any case it was impressive (if discouraging, since I do like sushi). Tuna, for instance, is reportedly pretty far up on the food chain, and would tend to concentrate more pollutants. (I may be wrong about this, for the first time in my life.)

Even if it has been a while since you read Fahrenheit 451, you might remember Ray Bradbury’s classic for its portrayal of a dystopian future in which an authoritarian government flies drones to control the people, and burns books.

Read Fahrenheit 451 again to discover why people wanted their tyrannical government to burn books. Bradbury wrote the book in 1953, yet the parallels to today’s social climate for censorship are haunting.

Bradbury’s protagonist is Guy Montag, who, like all firemen in Bradbury’s future, burns books.

In Bradbury’s dystopia, firemen became “custodians of our peace of mind, the focus of our understandable and rightful dread of being inferior; official censors, judges, and executors.”

Today’s mainstream and social media are “custodians of our peace of mind” as they filter out “conflicting theory and thought.”

Captain Beatty is Montag’s boss. Beatty explains, “If you don’t want a man unhappy politically, don’t give him two sides to a question to worry him; give him one.”

If you don’t want people debating questions such as COVID-19 policy, Beatty has the ticket: “Cram them full of noncombustible data, chock them so damned full of ‘facts’ they feel stuffed, but absolutely ‘brilliant’ with information. Then they’ll feel they’re thinking, they’ll get a sense of motion without moving.”

Today, millions listen daily to reports of case counts of COVID-19. Like Bradbury predicted, listeners can recite the numbers but have no context to make sense of the numbers.

Many have little idea that important scientists and doctors have advocated alternatives to lockdowns that could save lives and abate catastrophic impacts on economies.

taken from his or her article, From Farenheit 451 to Cancel Culture: Why Bradbury said the people would demand cancel culture.

” When this plays out, please remember just one thing. Don’t marry your siblings or close cousins. ”

Or , maybe , read a history book , and then consider the implications ?

For a very long stretch there we didn’t have planes , trains , and automobiles .

Some war and trade was taking place , even a lot of war and trade , but that most likely still amounted to less than 10% of the population who were soldiers , sailors , traveling salesmen , and teamsters.

About 80% of the population probably lived in one valley for extended periods of time.

And if you took a look at any sample of say a dozen genealogies under such circumstances you soon notice that while the last names may be different , and superficially they are different family trees , there are so many points of overlap and tie – ins that it might as well be one last name , and one family tree .

It can take only a hundred years , maybe two hundred , before even if you marry someone on the other side of the valley , you still have a dozen or more ancestors in common.

My bet would be that about 90% of the human population of the earth has long stretches in their genealogy where the family tree , even if it forks , the forking is superficial , cosmetic.

    All of that is a bit theoretical and nebulous , but there is one case where you can Google the black and white , on paper , data ;

    European royalty.

The Windsor’s , Wittlesbach’s , Bourbon’s , Hapsburg’s , Hohenzollern’s , Romanov’s and Savoy’s have so many ancestors in common it might as well be one and the same family.

And all of that transpired in barely 200 years.

Anyway , STUPID would – be condescending jokes about inbreeding are one of the hundred – and – one reasons why I’m more interested in someones agenda ,

than in the results of any IQ test , the bells and whistles of a resume , or a persons genetic background.

    • Kim October 25, 2020 at 8:24 pm #

The Habsburgs – whom you specifically mention – are famous for demonstrating the negative effects of interbreeding.

You have not heard of the “Habsburg jaw”?

The Habsburgs produced numerous idiots and cripples. In later years of the dynasty, it was often difficult for them to find a candidate capable of taking the throne.

Similar problems with hemophilia have been seen in other European real families.

      https://www.sciencetimes.com/articles/24610/20200107/inbreeding-among-royals-14-monarchs-who-experienced-the-side-effects-of-incest.htm

I’m also aware that , doubtless , vendors have made a fortune on Romanov picture books because , I doubt not coincidentally , the whole family ; Father , mother , son , and four sisters , were drop – dead beautiful.

          Hemophilia not withstanding.

” As for separation someone’s agenda from his or her genes, there is plenty of evidence ….. ”

What I see plenty of evidence of , and right here on this board , is that , for example , Janos wanted to high light my black mother , I suspect , so that hopefully others would not notice that there is scarce anything conservative or traditional in his agenda.

His agenda has far more in common with Johnny – come – lately French Jacobin-ism , than with anything a Roman Patrician , a Spartan citizen , or a Japanese Samurai would have recognized as their own.

And Leftists want to completely gloss over or side – step my black mother , I suspect , in hopes that folks won’t recognize that there is scarce anything remotely liberal in their agenda.

” Although driving drunk deaths are statistically insignificant (what, 50,000 deaths annually out of a population of 330,000,000?) it is dangerous and definitely an issue. So why not Covid? ”

    Glad you mentioned that.

I gotta admit that the thought of people driving drunk as a skunk on the roads perturbs and unsettles me a bit , despite it being statistically marginal and trivial.

    But then …..

It sure seems to me that a significant percentage of drunks FUNCTION ADEQUATELY ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE DRUNK.

They DON’T function worth a damn when they AREN’T drinking.

Maybe that applies just as well to driving , as it does to holding down a job , or keeping yourself bearably sociable ?

One thing I have noticed about all this ” science ” stuff is the actual dearth of any studies actually attempted that just might make the scientist unpopular with any group except the outcasts , , or which might cause the scientist to lose the ability to adequately pay the grocery bill.

So , right out of the starting gate , there is a rather blatantly obvious LACK of dispassionate neutrality.

Which , right out of the starting gate , implies as a prudent guess that there is a lot of self – fulfilling prophecy , confirmation bias , and even the Heisenberg uncertainty principle , baked into this ” scientific ” pie.

Anyway , then there is my own Kafka – like experience of transportation and road safety laws.

I was born in another country , and at a time when the birth of children to American citizen parents abroad was handled quite informally , which is to say , with little or no paper trail.

To make a long story short ; I have been driving on an expired drivers license for about 15 years now , because , on the rare occasions when I get pulled over , it turns out that to just pay the fine winds up being thousands of dollars cheaper than trying to prove to the DMV bureaucracy that I’m not a North Korean spy.

So I’m willing to concede that speed limits ( which most other people ignore when they can. It turns out that the girl who is driving ” illegally ” seems to be the only driver interested in driving 30 mph in a 30 mph zone ) and the designation that you should drive on the right hand side , or the left hand side , have something to do with safety.

But I have grave doubts that drivers licenses , automobile tags , seat belt laws , and yes , even drunk driving laws , are really about safety.

I suspect , and suspect strongly too , that it’s about controlling people. And not even controlling people to serve some imagined future good , but controlling people just to get your kicks.

Also a way of milking people for money when you don’t really otherwise have an objective reason for demanding money from people.

Like , for example , the traffic courts keep thousands of parasites employed who otherwise would have to work at Burger King.

And , naturally , you never see a scientific study that approaches the phenomenon as parasitism , as patronage system , as grift.

    • beantownbill. October 25, 2020 at 10:11 pm #

While it’s true some people function better when drunk, that’s mostly at an emotional level only. Alcohol impairs physical functioning no matter how much better it makes some drunks feel (many people are nasty drunks, though I, personally, am lucky that I’m a funny, happy drunk). I really don’t think scientists’ personal biases and fears of acceptance cause the concept that drunk driving may be overblown.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve driven – let’s say – when I get a little too happy, but I’m aware that my driving is somewhat not up to par, and I drive very, very carefully. Only once in my life did I ever drive really drunk. It was scary and I never did it again.

I do agree that a lot of drunk legal offenses have to do with control.

      • Kim October 25, 2020 at 10:19 pm #

        Nobody drives better when drunk.

Drunk drivers are taken off the road because they maim and kill people.

Driving while impaired can cause you to not avoid people driving like idiots who are sober.

Ah the hyperbole is nothing short of ridiculous.

Democrats, powerless to stop her confirmation, have cast the process as a power grab by Republicans eager to rush the nomination days ahead of the election. They repeatedly warned that Barrett is a threat to health care for millions of Americans, abortion rights and gay rights.

What are gay rights are those special rights granted to only homosexuals?
As I suspect they keep adding on to the list of rights that were never actual rights.

    • benr October 25, 2020 at 9:10 pm #

Further I would like to add the real fear of Democrats is that everything they judge shopped and rammed through the courts can easily be over turned by another higher court.
That folks is the rub they do in the courts what they can’t get voters and fellow legislators to pass!

    • KesaAnna October 25, 2020 at 9:30 pm #

For a pretty darned long time too , ” rights ” have only been code for power and privilege.

Abortion rights turns out to be something which ensures you will never get to vote on it in any meaningful way.

Joe Sobran was right , Roe vs Wade wasn’t really about abortion , it was about dismantlng subsidiarity , concentrating power in Washington , and what happens in Washington relative to you is like unto what happens on Mars relative to you.

And it is gay rights if you can afford a 500 – dollar – an – hour lawyer.

Which is to say that libertinism is for the country club set that can afford it , same as before , except maybe even worse than before.

People will have noticed in the Trump-supporting media that there are celebrations currently ongoing over the release from prison of – we are breathlessly informed – a black man.

“Charles “Duke” Tanner, 40…released Wednesday from a Pennsylvania prison, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. His original release date was Oct. 20, 2030. He had lobbied unsuccessfully for years to cut his drug sentence short.”

Tanner was serving a 30-year sentence on federal drug and conspiracy convictions and “was granted clemency Wednesday by President Donald Trump.”

I was puzzled by this. Why is the Trump-cuckold media celebrating this? A released drug dealer? Why? Was he denied his civil rights? Was he wrongly imprisoned?

Looking for details of Tanner’s crimes, I found them nowhere in the Trump media. What was he in for? Why did he get 30 years in the first place?

I pretty quickly found some of the details of his case. So let me tell you, he wasn’t wrongly convicted and he wasn’t convicted for holding a joint.

    What was his crime?

“Tanner was accused of leading the Renegades, a local gang that trafficked thousands of pounds of crack cocaine and marijuana, and was convicted in 2006 of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine.”

Yes, that’s right folks, the conscience-less animal was an industrial-scale crack distributor.

Crack! Probably the most addictive and destructive illicit drug ever produced. It is a by-word in the destruction of flyover Ameica. And this Tanner was moving 1000s of pounds!

How many destroyed loves, families, and communities does that cover? And as a gang member, were people murdered by this gang? Was Tanner a RICO-eligible person?

Tanner was a major, major drug dealer and should have been executed. Instead, now he is being marched around in the right-cuck media like some kind of plaster feast day saint.

I tried to make this point in the comments at Citizen Free Press. My comment didn’t stay up even five minutes.

But of course, these same right-cuck sites like to complain about Twitter and Section 230.

Hypocrites. They are just fronts for the very interests they pretend to oppose.

In it, he is also seen cellphone-photographing his orgasms with the unidentified footsie woman during the action, as he lights up a bong. This is the kind of orgiastic “plan” that Hunter’s father has for his kleptocrat friends in Washington after he and his state-cartel socialist comrades take over control of the U.S. government.

No wonder Facebook, Twitter, Google and other international company elites are blocking the revelations about Joey’s treachery and corruption. The FBI, CIA and various other diseased government agencies — in addition to the mainstream media — intend to overthrow the USA with the help of Communist China through its purchase of the high criminals in “our” government.

The elite crime syndicates have almost attained their goal: Communist conquest, by non-military means, of the USA.

Never mind the Ides of March. Beware of what follows All Souls’ Day.

I mentioned this earlier, but did not post as I was unsure of the rules on this stuff.

There is a thread on 4chan that has a lot more that that.

The global left’s entire idea of Z-wave feminism – to complete the revolution – is every girl a practised whore by the age of 12 and freely available at every 7-all for the price of a can of baked beans.

And we will never realize that free-loving, libertarian Rockefeller dreamworld until we have marinated all of society in crack cocaine and smack.

So let’s release Charles “Duke” Tanner, and set ourselves free at the same time…right?

Very interesting that the Christian preacher didn’t have anything to say about his apparent subservience to the current powers that be. Could that be because many churches are simply part of the powers that be? Its not like the Marxists were totally incorrect that the Church generally was part of the established powers. Is that why the Church today is at the forefront of Globalism and advocating for the NWO?
