I doubt that many Americans — even the masses sunk in vaccine smuggery and obsessive Trump-o-phobia — believe that America’s Ukraine project is working out for us. Of course, to even begin thinking about this debacle, you must at least suspect that our government is lying about virtually everything it has its hand in. Name something it is not lying about, I dare you.
So, what is the Ukraine project about? To use that sad-ass country as a vector to disable and destroy Russia. You can’t over-state the stupidity of that objective. And why did we want to do that? Because… reasons. Oh? And what were they? Well, Russia was… there. Oh? And what was it doing? Trying to take over the world? Uh, no. It was actually just trying to be a normal European nation again after its traumatic 75-year-long experiment with communism, which ended in 1991.
And then, after that, coming along pretty well under Mr. Putin. Did I say that? Yes, I did, because it is a fact. Russia wrote new private property laws, made commerce legal again, and allowed its citizens to do business. Russia wasn’t threatening any other nations, most particularly not its former province, Ukraine. It had even invited Ukraine to be a sovereign member of its trade association, the customs union, with a bunch of other regional states who had rational interests in good regional relations. That’s what set off the maniacs at the US State Department — under Secretary John Kerry, a.k.a. the haircut-in-search-of a-brain — who, in 2014, decided to overthrow Ukraine’s government.
The project since then has been to use the US-controlled Ukraine government to antagonize Russia and, finally, to draw Russia into a military operation intended, SecDef Lloyd Austin said more than once, “to weaken Russia.” Well, everything we’ve done there, from eight years of shelling the Donbas, to kicking Russia out of the West’s banking system, to pouring billions of US dollars into Ukraine’s corrupt government, has only strengthened Russia internally, earned the approbation of many other nations who object to US interference in their regions, and steered poor Ukraine into the graveyard of failed states.
We are losing this unnecessary proxy war about as steadily as possible, and actually making Russia look good in the process. Russia could have ended the war in five minutes by turning Kiev into an ashtray, but it spent the first eight months of the operation trying to avoid busting up Ukraine’s infrastructure, so as not to turn it into a failed state (that would present new and worse problems). Mr. Putin made many overtures to negotiate an end to the conflict, all rejected by Ukraine, the US, and its NATO “partners.”
So, now Russia is grinding on-the-ground to reduce Ukraine’s ability to continue making war by systematically killing the troops Ukraine foolishly throws into the battle line, and destroying Ukraine’s heavy weapons. Ukraine is about out of its own soldiers and weapons. Russia is maneuvering to roll over what’s left there and put an end to these pointless and needless hostilities. Contrary to US propaganda, Russia has no ambition to conquer NATO territory. Rather its aim is to restore order to a corner of the world that has been its legitimate sphere of influence for centuries — and more than once been used as a doormat for European armies to invade Russia.
Apparently, we can’t allow Russia to clean up this mess we made — or we pretend that we can’t, even though it’s happening anyway, whether we like it or not. So now, the US promises to send thirty-one M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. A bold move, you think? Not exactly. By the time these tanks get anywhere in the vicinity of Ukraine, this war is likely to be over. Never mind the difficult business of training the few remaining eligible Ukrainian men between sixteen and sixty how to operate the tanks, and training maintenance crews, and delivering inventories of spare parts — you see where this is going — not to mention the certainty that the Russians will simply blow them up as fast as they appear on the premises. Anyway, a measly thirty-one tanks that can barely be operated is meaningless compared to hundreds of T-72s backed by newer T-14 tanks the Russians can muster from just over their border with Ukraine.
The tank proffer is, sad to say (for the dignity of our country), a joke, kind of a last feeble pretense before the whole thing ends in ignominy for the “Joe Biden” team — whoever that actually is. The repercussions are liable to be ugly for our country, not necessarily in terms of more military trouble in other lands (which we probably lack the capacity to engage in now), but something more personal: the collapse of the dollar as the world’s reserve currency and a vicious loss of purchasing power here at home. That would provoke a situation worse than the Great Depression of the 1930s, and that’s probably where things are going.
The Ukraine misadventure will disappear from America’s collective consciousness in a New York minute and a Fourth Turning jamboree of serious domestic political disorder will commence in short order. If you think “Joe Biden’s” term in office has been a disaster so far, just wait. You ain’t seen nuttin yet.

I tried to have this discussion with a couple of co-workers and was rewarded with blank stares and but Putins.
Even suggested the Ukrainians were actually killing Russians in Donbas region and that is what started the Fireworks.
Even told them for now Russian is a regional power at best and China was the one we need to be wary of.
Amazed at the serious ignorance of actual events these two displayed.
One of them even started in on the tired trope of Trump is communist.
His reason Trump has a business interest in Moscow.
I suggested other people in American business and politics did as well.
I finally walked away shaking my head it was like talking to a slightly more interesting version of rr or rl but equally brain dead.
Should have read tired old trope of Trump collusion with Russia, Russia, Russia and the reason, Trump is a communist.
Some people come by a deep and abiding hatred of Russia and Russians honestly. That is part of the problem, something that complicates the issue.
This goes way back.
That does not excuse the people who just buy the prevailing narrative though.

Uh, yes, this goes way back. According to Dimitri Orlov, here’s the situation:
“The gauntlet was thrown down in 1252, when Alexander Nevsky accepted an official document, called yarlyk, from Khan Batyj of the Golden Horde (part of the Mongolian Empire), allowing him to reign as the Grand Prince of Kiev (and thus the ruler of all of Russia), rather than ask for a blessing from the Pope in Rome, as was required of all Western kings. To these Western potentates, their claim to be ordained by God was based on approval by His head office at the Vatican; to the Russians, the Pope was just some heretic usurper. The religious distinction played itself out over time, but the notion that there is an exclusive club of Western nations who deserve to wield authority over the rest of the world has remained to this day.

Unless the US decides to destroy not just Russia, Ukraine and Europe, but the entire world.

It’s an atomic bomb detonated above the earth’s atmosphere and generates a “pulse wave” which travels at the speed of light and can destroy our entire electrical grid and everything attached to it. No phones, no internet, no cars with computer technology will work and the damage can’t be repaired for years.
While we were all ordered to stay in our homes, and the holidays were virtually cancelled, I watched a YouTube video of the New Year’s light show in Moscow, and was stunned. Moscow was clean, not even a piece of paper blowing in the street. Underneath the dazzling light show, it looked prosperous. The imposing buildings of old Europe were all around, and everywhere there were lights. It had to have cost a fortune. I was entranced by the beauty of it, and saddened to realize we had nothing to compare with it. Smartly dressed people were bundled up, walking about, enjoying the show. Children in snowsuits were running around having fun. Nothing is fun here anymore. Any attempt reeks of desperation and you have to be so careful not to offend anyone.
There is a Azerbaijani woman who has an outdoor cooking channel on YouTube. She”s a dour-looking woman in a scarf, and is dressed much like my great grandmother. Her son is her videographer and is quite skilled. Sometimes he brings his children. Part of the charm of it is in the yard. There is a small stream running through it, with ducks. It’s full of flowers. There are chickens and geese pecking. The two cats tease the dogs and the dogs annoy the cats. There are goats wondering around. Sometimes you see a cow browsing. She milks it by hand. Viewers get to watch snipets of the animals leading their happy, little, lives. Her mustachioed husband wanders in and out, building fires or helping her carry heavy items. We get to see him live his happy life, too. Sometimes, her elderly mother makes an appearance. They have a huge farm. Cabbages and other vegetables to the horizon, five or six rows of strawberries that go on forever. There’s a fruit and nut orchard. She makes an enormous amount of food, which confused me, until I realized they were feeding a bunch of farm hands. This is such a change from the bleak old Soviet days. They have a good life.
I think the way of life you describe goes back farther than Soviet days, Draupnir.
That is the way peasants have lived for centuries.

I saw an Azerbaijani news clip regarding them, and the country is quite proud of them, as they have achieved some international renown. They are certainly quite shrewd.

Well, Taiwan is a critical part of the semi conductor industry. Making those things depends upon more than 100,000 specialty parts from over 5,000 independent suppliers from something like100 different countries. Ultra pure gasses like nitrogen, Helium, Neon are needed by the ton…. It’s hard to imagine the central planners will shrug their shoulders and “let them have Taiwan”. Regardless of the details, WW3 could be really hard on these highly complex supply chains.
The US has recognized Taiwan as a part of China for 50 years.

A perfect example of why we need to bring manufacturing, including semi conductors, chips, etc. back to the states. Russia is probably more self sufficient than other countries and probably won’t be hurt nearly as much as the U.S. in a depression.

He refused to start a new war.
He gets props for those even if he screwed up on the GMO injectables.
He rolled back the Obama mandate that forced schools to allow boys into girls’ sports, locker rooms, showers and bathrooms.
Biden put that back his first day in office.
So what DO Americans think about warring with Russia you ask? Well I don’t think that most of them think about the idea, or that they think about anything that ” they can’t do anything about anyway”, which I heard over and over from damned near everyone. Most people don’t care if NATO and/or America declare a real war on Russia not only because they cannot do anything about anything anyway, but they are not going to have to fight in it, or so they think. Why they are willing to send their sons, daughters and used to be sons or daughters to fight and die for them instead only makes sense when you consider that far too many of the parents never really gave a shit about anyone but themselves anyway.
I don’t know what we will get in the end of this clusterfuck, but I can assure you that whatever t is, we deserve it.
I think this indifferent response (“we can’t do anything about it anyway”) is grounded in the fantasy that a war with Russia won’t really disrupt their personal lives. More than one friend/relative has said to me THEIR son or daughter won’t be sent to war! and when I ask exactly whose will? the response is “we have an all volunteer army and they want to go.”
Gone is the threat of the draft and with it all thoughts about our own responsibility and a willingness to ignore the consequences to the soldiers we pretend to care about. There’s a lot of lip service about “honoring our heroes” but no one’s rushing to be one themselves.
What proxy war has gone well? Not one. Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, Libya, and now Ukraine. The Ukrainian people have suffered too much for no reason and it has to stop soon — I pray.
That reminds me, when there was some kind of anniversary or other of the Viet Nam War, I happened to look at the New York Times and an awful lot of the commentary, by people old enough that they know better, was all Nixon Nixon Nixon.
Nixon made the draft a more egalitarian lottery system. Boy did the ‘elites’ hate him for that.
The draft system Nixon came up with was fair and only the people at the very top could get their kids exemptions, like Bush did for Shrub in the National Guard unit. But the crafty ones figured a way out too — Clinton, Cheney. But no one is bothered by this corruption anymore.
Last year when my great-nephew turned 17 I advised him to register immeidately, now, as a conscientious objector.
Because if/when the s— hits the fan it will be too late.
I don’t expect that he took my advice seriously but I will mention it again as soon as I see him.
A simpler solution: Not you, but your nephew or niece, can place a lien on their son, for all their expense in raising him, from birth to emancipation – the money he “owes” them.
Conservatively 18 years @ $10K, so $180,000. When the government comes for him, and realizes they have to satisfy the lien, they’ll move right along to the next “free” conscript.
OMG I can only the pure outrage from the snowflake nation should a draft be reinstituted. No more mid-morning latte breaks, no more lunches at Chipotle. It doesn’t even bear thinking about.
My grandson is 17 and he’s a good kid, as conservative as his brain can understand at that age. But, he is pretty spoiled. Drives to 20 miles to Georgia Tech twice a week for dive practice, goes to the gym every afternoon, partakes of multiple supplements and makes his own breakfast wraps. It takes all of his energy to get the garbage to the street once a week much less shouldering a rifle and ducking behind trees and he’s one of the good ones.
Farmgal — my smart, good-looking, sweet 18 year old grandson sounds like yours. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and has been spoiled by all who love him. We haven’t raised a generation of young men who are tough –they have good hearts and good intentions — and I can’t imagine how he and his friends (who are just like him) would be able to deal with real depravation or war.
If you want to imagine how your grandsons would respond, watch “Full Metal Jacket” and some other Vietnam war movies. These were kids sent to a war they knew nothing about and watched their friends being shot right next to them. Sickening. Read “The Things They Carried” and other works from that war. Is it little wonder so many of them are AFU now. I was older (34) when I went there and flew as a Forward Air Controller (FAC ’67-’68). I heard their cries for help. I have blamed our government for Johnson’s War ever since.
Yes, every young person should have to do a year or two of service, military for the young men. Some of the training could be working in the fields of course.
I agree but no politician would ever introduce that bill b/c it would end his career. We made a mistake disbanding the draft even and though I don’t want to see any young men and women go to war, it’s allowed the middle and upper classes to distance themselves from the consequences of US policy.
In the old European feudal system, princes started military training as young as 6 years old. They sometimes got tossed into military boarding schools later on as young teens. Thrown in there and probably even hazed by young barons their own age as they learned how to fight. Most princes graduated from military school as lieutenants, and they were expected to serve. One typical example is Crown Prince Rupprecht from the house of Wittelsbach. He retired from the military holding the rank of Field Marshall, and during WWI he was commanding general of the German 6th army. He did very well and left the field as a war hero. Princes were expected to be on battlefields. Unlike people such as the Bidens, they were not to be spending time hanging around in palaces wearing pink slippers, snorting coke, and chasing underage ladies. That’s how kingdoms got lost in the old days.
@Jarek – totally agree. Many young people have no idea what they want to do with their life when they graduate from high school. A year or two would bridge the gap between leaving home and making your way in the world. Not to mention learning to work as a team and have consideration for someone other than yourself.
Most Americans have been convinced that the US “only kills brown people”.
I bring up the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, WW1, WW2 and Yugoslavia, and it doesn’t change their fast conviction that the US would never hurt white people.
And almost a year now of the US backing white vs white in Ukraine does not change their beliefs, so they are convinced that we would not go to war with Russia. Also, they support sending tanks to kill Russians. No cognitive dissonance there, because you have to have cognition to have dissonance.
It’s actually amazing how our overlords can install beliefs in people that are resistant to facts.

Speak for yourself. It’s not the average American who supports this bullshit and wants to go kill brown people. The war in Ukraine doesn’t even support your premise anyway.

Well, in my 40’s Ronald Reagan was President, and I trusted him, I was of the opinion that he was trying to do what was right for the country and it’s citizens. I was then in my 40’s, and that was the level of trust I had in the government. Did my trust extend to doing/saying? No, two different things entirely, as I did not expect the government to tell the truth on all issues…still don’t.
Now, however, I do not believe that the government has the best interests of its citizens, or the country as a goal…Or possibly they do, under some utopian program that, supposedly in the long run, would be beneficial, when the omelet is made, and many eggs are broken.
I trust that the government is not entirely evil. I trust that many, many of those in government are human, and that they may even think they are doing what is best for humanity.
I think they are wrong in their current approach…but they stopped asking me my opinion since…forever.
You know Walter was a believer…He attended West Point. At some juncture he experienced and saw things that soured him on the system. I, myself, believed in integration in the 60’s, until I saw things that soured me on the concept. We’ve been blessed as a people for far too long. We no longer remember what it means to sacrifice for something or to go without. Hence the reason everyone has all the time in the world to worry about what gender they identify with on that day, their genitals or where their next orgasm will come from, reality TV shows, the NFL and NBA, climate change, cow farts and other lunacy. A society that has to focus on where their next meal is coming from doesn’t have time to focus on their gender or their genitals or CO2 levels.
A collapse in our standard of living will be painful but it will also bring about necessary change to purge the rot from our society and reinforce within us what truly matters in our lives. Since we won’t correct those deficiencies in our lives on our own, God will and is.

I do not and have never believed that my God is a vengeful and angry God, despite what Martin Luther (who I respect) may have said. I saw an interesting quote the other day and although it pertained to Nature, I believe that is can be applied to the Almighty:
“In nature there are no rewards, no punishments. There are only consequences”.
Anyone who believes in Adam and Seve MUST understand and also believe that children have always, and will always suffer the consequences of the choices, of the actions of their parents. And on down the line those consequences shall continue.
I too do not believe God to be vengeful and full of anger as I could not have faith in such a deity. However, I do believe that God cannot tolerate in any instance the depravity of sin that we as mortal men often engage in. The violation of God’s laws brings punishment enough. Being free to choose means we must be made to experience the consequences of such choices. This is judgment.

But scripture does indicate that God eventually runs out of patience–or that some people are obdurate in choosing evil over good. Choosing evil is the same thing as choosing hell, and hell is said to be self-chosen–a self-chosen rejection of all that is good. Where else would you go but to hell?

I use my VPN and Tor browser to look at videos posted from the “other side” of this conflict and you are correct.
Instead of snipers you now have drones that fly around at night and drop grenades on top of soldiers huddled in their trenches and do so with pinpoint accuracy. Instead of trying to guess what is on the other side of the hill you have drones that can be shot out of an artillery piece and then just “appear” 20 miles behind the front lines. Once active they look for wifi, Bluetooth, and other electronic signals to find a “hotspot” and once that hotspot is identified, thermobaric missiles take out the whole area.
Iran has supplied Russia with thousands of Kamakazi drones and you can watch videos of those taking out the equipment we send. Another thing the Russians like to do is post the videos that are found on the camera phones of captured and killed Americans. They seem to take great pleasure in that.
Aircraft carriers are not obsolete. Their function for a long time is not survival of the ship. It is the launch of their air wings to do their jobs before they are sunk. In an all out war that is.

The attack on Lavoriv In March 2022 was reputed to have been executed with hypersonics.

When I was young, I tried to serve; raised in the 60s & 70s, I still believed America was a force for justice in the world, even as the enigma of Vietnam rolled out of the TV every evening. I believed serving was the least we could do for our country. But a couple of medical issues kept me from the niche I wanted. I learned the story behind the USS Liberty attack, and other incidents where our people were used as cannon fodder for some secret agenda. Now I have three daughters, 26, 24, & 21. I have two sons-in-law, and by June I will have a third. Our first grandson is due in six weeks. The only option is right in front of all of us, but we’re still much too collectively chickenshit to try it. It’s called “secession”. And after it happens, and it will happen, we’ll have new states and new confederations of states, along with a *lot* of new struggles, including serious poverty during the rebuilding process. But along with that we might at least have the blessing of freedom that makes it all worthwhile. This new era will be something our host calls “the long emergency”. I’m guessing most of us won’t like it.
There are huge problems with secession, one of which is that about half the people in this country are dependent on the government, at one level or another, for their income. Another problem is that most of the real estate in this country is, for all practical purposes, owned by the banks. So you can probably see where I’m going with that.
I think that a seceding state would have to tell all the big banks holding all the mortgages in said state to either sell the note to a community bank for pennies on the dollar, or sell the property to the mortgagor for pennies on the dollar. Such an action would probably lead to war.
On the other hand, if secession could be managed bloodlessly, and a just and free economy (with sound money) put in place, I think the outcome would be amazing productivity, initiative, creativity, and wealth production. Because that’s what happens in a free economy.
One policy that you’d have to put in place to accomplish this would be to provide at least a few acres of land to everyone, or at least every family. Many states probably have enough state-owned or federally-owned land to give every family 40 acres and a mule. But I’m not entirely without optimism, because in my little part of NE, the needful elements are here. We even make some electricity locally, there’s a lot of farmland, we still have cows and goats down the street.
We also have quite a few people with real skills, the problem being that most of them are getting on in years. There aren’t many young men in the prime of life around here, and those who are here have no skills nor any desire to work. It’s nearly impossible, for instance, to replace firefighters as they retire. Young men consider themselves part of online communities, not the ones in which they physically live. New England could really use an infusion of young men with families. Houses, especially in the rural areas, are practically free if you’re able to do some work on them.

Long before the political divisions were so extreme, we did have a steady (but small) influx of people “from away” who had a dream of living here, accompanied by total ignorance of both the place and the people. They were often found trying to operate a bed and breakfast, or open a restaurant with fusion cuisine – little blobs of avocado on a large, empty, square plate. It would typically take them two years to run through the money they brought with them, after which they’d return to their point of origin no wiser but considerably poorer.
There are a lot of places that are just uninhabitable after a collapse. The area from Lake Tahoe to the Pine Nut mountains in Nevada supported about 3000 Indians mostly along the Truckee River and Pyramid Lake prior to white man’s arrival. Now there are over 1,500,000 people in the same area. Nothing of significance grows there without tremendous supporting elements.
Same with the desert called Las Vegas.

You should read Mark Twain’s “Roughing It,” for his assessment of that bunch of Indians. Twain admitted to a tendency to romanticize Native Americans, until he encountered them in real life in the Tahoe area.
Twain describes them as being always at the edge of starvation, even with their very low population.
I think that communities like that only work where there are certain specific factors involved: 1. They need to be agricultural, with every family owning a farm. 2. They need to have a strong shared religious basis. 3. They need to be firmly opposed to adopting almost all modern conveniences, like electricity, running water, refrigeration, telephones, cars, TV, etc. (These are the things that make you dependent of Big Multi-National Conglomerated, Inc., and the government–though there’s actually a lot of variation when it comes to allowing this stuff, especially for work or business purposes.)
In short, “Nothing succeeds like success.” Look at who’s successful, long term, and see how they do it.
American “conservatives” will have a hard time letting go of the desire for worldly “success” on our overlords’ terms. They don’t want to be deprived of their toys and conveniences, and are not willing sacrifice. Also, they are probably unwilling to have a strong community religious life. I can’t see them stopping what they’re doing three times a day to pray the Angelus when the bells ring.

The only people I know of who are doing anything like that are the Intentional Communities. There are a bunch of them all over the US, some large and some small. The residents/members tend to be “woke” types and mostly young people. TBH, I had the impression that some of them were kids in their 20s from well-to-do (or wealthy) families, who decided to get “back to the earth” as an excuse for not getting a job–though that IC was in Virginia, which is infested with such people.
The Virginia IC is call Twin Oaks, and it’s a big, successful one. They have a long probationary period to become a member, and lots of rules.
There are a couple of ICs in Missouri. The one in southern Missouri is called East Wind, and it has a nut butter factory. They sell nut butters to health food stores, and residents are required to work in the factory for a certain number of hours a week. My impression of East Wind is that everyone there is stoned all the time.
The one in northern Missouri is called The Possibilities Alliance. They are near LaPlata, Missouri, south of Kirksville. The last time I had any contact with them, they were some serious workaholics, expecting members to be very serious about building a community, with long workdays. I liked Ethan and Sarah, who started the community maybe 15-20 years ago and went through a lot of adversity in the process. They are kind of “lefty,” and had lived in a community in France and very much admired French socialism. I’ve haven’t had any contact with them for many years, but I’ll bet they’re over it.
The reason I know so much about this is that one of my daughters lived in several ICs and was one of the garden managers at Twin Oaks for awhile. She has always said that none of the ICs are really fully self-sufficient.
I think the main problem with IC’s viability is that the members do not own their own land. I think if you want a successful community, every family needs to own their own farm, as with the Amish.
No ownership means no real commitment.
I know a couple of people locally who have kind of toyed with the idea of starting a community.
Now that I think of it, there is such a community in this area, and they are successful. It’s a religious community that’s been in the area for about 30 years. I also know that there are, not only Amish, but Amish-type communities in this area (like old German Baptists or something). The reason I know about them is because they are vendors at farmers’ markets.
Starting something like that would be a huge, difficult, expensive project. I honestly think the best approach for most people is to starting living the self-sufficient lifestyle, yourself, to the best of your ability, and network with like-minded people.
It’s hard to know what’s really going on in Ukraine because of western media fealty, but some things are for certain.
1. Russia has a plan and they are, by and large, sticking to it.
2. NATO does not have a plan, unless funneling ever more weapons to Ukraine to be incapacitated by Russia can be considered a plan.
3. There’s no way for NATO to prevail. Most member countries are bankrupt and as time goes on will be dealing with more and more civil unrest at home.
4. Putin knows this, and so he also knows that time is on his side. Thank God we’re dealing with him and not someone who would have no qualms about turning not only Kyiv, but the entire world, into an ashtray.

Do you have egg shortages? Ours have been very slight at Albertsons, a sign saying only 2 dozen per customer, but then at the Trader Joe’s there was no sign that I noticed and a fully-stocked egg section.

I don’t know, the aftermath could be kind of fun, provided you do not take on too much direct radiation exposure. I have heard the starting position is $3 of spending cuts for every $1 of debt level increase.
Unfortunately, the defense budget is a drop in the bucket to the overall budget. Everything is so big and bloated in the budget. There needs to be massive cuts to all of the entitlement programs, but people and politicians are just too weak to get it done. If the church and other local community charity organizations were given power to step up and help their locales, then we wouldn’t need the government to provide so much entitlement money. There are even talks of force mobilization of Ukrainian migrants in Europe.
This is understandable as Ukrainian decision to stick and hold its positions in Artemovsk and Soledar has already cost AFU tens thousands of lives. At such rate Ukraine not only has problems with offensive that its Western patrons keep demanding. Kiev has serious problems with defending the front.
Shortage of weapons and ammunition is one cause of this problem, and while for now Western supplies can still last Ukraine for a month or two, the real problems will manifest in spring.
No Western aid can prevent these problems, even if NATO sends all their stocks of ammunition and equipment. Weapons is one thing but manpower is also important and at the current rate of losses AFU doesn’t have chances to last until summer.

Russian forces don’t spare these mercenaries and their losses are also counted in thousands. Many were killed, many decided that it’s not their war.

It is likely that we will see further toughening of penalties in future, as AFU morale keeps going down and denazification successfully reduces the number of die-hard nationalists despite their attempts to hide behind the backs of cannon fodder.
However, this is unlikely to boost Ukrainian morale. It is an act of desperation, not something that will change the situation. Moreover, increased punishments are likely to have the opposite effect with more units and individual soldiers surrendering and switching sides. I heard on the radio, mention of people’s showering habits again.
THE NYT did a survey during the scamdemic about changes in people’s daily washing routines due to the shutdown.
They had people declaring that they just might as well do away with that totally unnecessary daily shower, now that they’ve been made to see what a waste of time it was.
Of course, this always elicits comments about people smelling bad if they don’t take a complete shower, which is nonsense, you can clean with a washcloth too.
That’s not my point in brining this up though.
My point is, it’s one of the globalist goals to have we the peons washing in half a bucket of cold rainwater in the yard, no wait, we won’t have a yard, outside then.
They will still have all the luxurious fixtures in their many bathrooms as money can buy.
They are coming back at us with the washing habits thing just as the vaxx part of their agenda is collapsing.

He also appears to have been at Boston Consulting, which is not at all unusual. These consultancies are working hand-in-glove with WEF and co. to push the digital infrastructure and medical tyranny.

I can’t take most things at face value any more. I’ve mentioned before, the day I realized that most ‘viral’ stuff is not organic or is soon made not to be, when the so-called “MAGA hat kid” smiled at a native American man drumming in his face, and ended up being reviled and excoriated nationally, in the press and by rabid lefties.

Anyone watch or remember those real-life TV shows like Dateline or 48 Hours?
48 Hours when it started out was pretty good. They would spend two days covering one story, and you would really get a good look at whatever it was they were featuring.
Then 48 Hours deteriorated into a copy of Dateline. I used to watch Dateline frequently, but I stopped after televison declined in genearal as well as that show going downhill.
Endless commercial breaks, as well as the same bits of stock footage repeated after each break, doling out the new material in dribs and drabs.
They used maybe ten minutes of video to make a one hour show.
One of they annoyances was the phone-in polls, where you could tell them what you thought about what you just saw on the screen.
I would think, “are people really this gullible?” when some of them believed that a woman who allegedly drowned in the bathtub could be completely dry by the time the paramedics arrived, etc.
Anyway, as I say, I quit watching those shows quite some time ago, but I was thinking about them they other day and it suddenly hit me, the real purpose of those shows.
Not to have an interesting program about a murder trial. They had a laboratory going, where people would report just how easily duped they could be, and just how much of what kind of information they had to see to either be fooled or clued in.
No wonder they didn’t bother with the quality of the shows anymore.
The whole thing had become an intelligence gathering operation in how to influence the populace’s thinking.
The only Dateline series I really enjoyed was the Dateline: To Catch A Predator with Chris Hanson. Totally classic, when the man walks in to meet the nubile, all primed and ready to go, and then gets confronted by a news reporter. The look on their face with shock and dismay was completely priceless!!!
Too bad it was the fact that one of their subjects committed suicide as a result of the show, which is what led to it being cancelled.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Russia. Know a lot of people. Never stayed in hotels…..I stay in flats instead so I mix with the locals. I’ve lost count of the parties I’ve gone to and the places I’ve spent times in experiencing everything from the super religious folks to mafia clubs. In short, I understand Russians. They are good people; it’s their government that isn’t worth a damn. Same situation as we are in but at least we’ve got a smidgen of a better opportunity to change ours. Putin’s no saint. He’s a vicious little squirt who looks good in a suit but he’s quick to deal with North Korea, Iran, Whoever the second it serves his purposes. I want the Russians to finally decide enough is enough. The same way I want Americans to finally decide enough is enough.
Oh man, would that be something to see. What is so disheartening about the last decade is that we the people have the power to stop all of this nonsense immediately but we do nothing but obey and comply. If everyone would stop paying taxes we would starve the beast. If everyone would stop paying property taxes we would starve the beast. If everyone said “no” to the vaccine we would starve the beast. The way things work currently in the Catholic Church is that it is pretty easy to get an annulment and thus re-marry. And, while the Church is opposed to divorce, it is okay with separation. If you are divorced and are unable to obtain an annulment, you could not re-marry. (That would be adultery.) But I’ve never known anyone who sought an annulment and was unable to get one.
Quite a surprising number and variety of circumstances can invalidate a marriage. One example is the requirement that “consent to the marriage was freely given.” In practice, if the bride was pregnant before marriage, it is presumed that consent was not freely given. Another example is if the bride married to escape an abusive home. (I think this one is very common, especially among young girls.) Also, “Psychological issues or addictions affected one of the party’s ability to truly consent.” (Lots of wiggle room there.)
Another case in which consent was not truly given is, “One of the spouses lied so extensively about their past that they essentially obtained the other’s consent through fraud.” (I believe this to be a pretty regular thing–especially with lies of omission.)
Yet another is, “One of the spouses attached a condition to his or her consent. For example, the person agreed to the marriage with the condition that they would never move to a different city or state.” This is kind of an interesting one, in that, if you think about it, just about everyone attaches conditions to consent, though usually tacitly.
I had a teaching colleague once who was at least nominally Catholic. Her brother obtained an annulment because he and his wife were married in a Protestant church, so it was claimed that it wasn’t a valid marriage (you’d think he would have thought about that at the time?) and he was able to marry his new wife in a Catholic church. Just as well for him that the Priest didn’t say ‘ok, you can make things right by marrying your original wife properly in a Catholic church!’

Well, at the moment the Russians seem to have no interest in issues involving “sexual liberation”. As a matter of fact, the Russian Orthodox church is growing rapidly, both in membership and in influencing Russian popular culture. The Western Roman Church is failing. One primary difference between the two Churches is how the church is ruled. The West insists on a top down management system with the pope at the top of the pyramid. The pope is claimed to be the Vicar of Christ and incapable of making mistakes regarding church policy and beliefs. The Eastern Orthodox have no pope and rule instead by councils of archbishops. After Rome collapsed, the Eastern half of the empire still had an emperor. The West had no emperor, and the popes also didn’t like the idea of the Eastern Emperor having any authority over his “holy office”. So the Germans cooked up the idea of founding a “Holy Roman Empire”, and they’d once again have a western emperor. Historians like to joke that it wasn’t holy, wasn’t Roman, and wasn’t a real empire. These trees are not contributing any thing to sequester Carbon and the rot in the East and wildfires in the west just create more CO2. My point is, this is the natural order of things. Using Smoky the Bear techniques, we have succeeded in bringing most of our forests to climax AT THE SAME TIME. The West anyway is burning to the ground and quickly.
The forest should naturally be a patchwork of various stages of growth. Meadows quickly cover burns ( that are not burned too hot by too much heat), then Aspens grow into the burns from roots under the ground, then over a couple of hundred years, the climax forest reappears, only to burn off again.
That is real recycling. The forests are averaging much higher in sequestration when they are actively growing.
So, for the CC gang, do you think that allowing our forests to go to climax all together then burn might have something to do with warming? Planting millions of trees will help in burns but if the soil is not rejuvenated by natural processes, the trees will never progress well. in the 80s, the National Foret folks finally changed Smokey’s philosophy to let them burn naturally. They are not. They have too much underbrush, they burn too hot, they sterilize the soil, replanting trees is a waste of time and capital. It means that the forest has reached a state of equilibrium where it is more or less released from the “karma” of natural succession.

Islander, I do not know where you live. I lived in Colorado and Arizona for 50 years and I have watched grossly mismanaged forests die from beetle kill throughout both states. I mean entire forests dying. One of the most beautiful scenes in Colorado was the mountains surrounding Dillon reservoir. Those hills are now brown with dead trees. The New Mexico side of Raton Pass is nothing but small underbrush now with twenty year old tree Skelton left. We used to visit Santa Fe over the years. The beetle hit the Pinyon Pines there and wiped them out, al that is left is cedars and Junipers.
Your argument about climax forests and actively growing juvenile forests is a moot point. Climax forests are disappearing as the trees cannot water and feed themselves any longer. It is catastrophic, go visit it to see the impact. It makes no difference if there are no trees left.

I don’t really understand how anyone can come to a hard conclusion about Musk at this point.
He has some suspect ties but has done a number of things that have caused actual damage to the WEF/globocap agenda. These actions are damaging enough that there is no logic to the idea that he has done so in order to serve as some kind of distraction or false prophet.
It is entirely possible to put a positive spin on many of the technologies he has pushed and continues to push. The reality is that many of those technologies are coming, whether we like it or not. The most important thing is that they are not used for the purposes for which some would like to use them.

I think there have already been some issues with paracetamol. And my Irish sister-in-law ended up in hospital years ago on dialysis (a one-off, thankfully) as a result of popping too much ibuprofen.
If one can tolerate aspirin, it’s a better choice – a bit of a multifaceted but modest wonder drug, like ivermectin. You have to be careful not to take it on an empty stomach, though (paracetamol has the advantage that you can), especially women, because it can cause intestinal bleeding in some people if not taken with food.

My ibuprofen story is not bad like GA’s (wow, on dialysis!). I’ve rarely taken it ’til last year when I was getting migraines (naturopathic supplements got rid of them – thankfully). But up until I got the supplements I was taking it, which worried me, given my friend who runs pharmaceutical trials told me about the trials for ibuprofen which was one of the first ones she worked on. She told me what just a week of taking it every day, 3x a day did to someone’s stomach (they were shown Xrays). She said she’d never touch the stuff.
She suggested if I had to take migraine meds to take Excedrin Migraine instead.
And I’ll probably never know if having to take it every day for a few weeks damaged my body in any way. Hopefully by now it’s healed if so (it’s been a year).
The recent Project Veritas expose does lend some credence though to the idea that Pfizer and likely all of big pharma is in the business of creating sickness and profiting off of creating treatments for it. So it does seem plausible that the mrna injections were intended to create illness for which treatments would be created thereby giving them a continuous loop of profit. Although part of me agrees with your assertion that they just wanted to kill off a lot of people with the injections.
