At yesterday’s Thanksgiving table, fifteen adults present, there was not one word uttered about impeachment, Russia, Ukraine, and, most notably, a certain Golden Golem of Greatness, whose arrival at the center of American life three years ago kicked off a political hysteria not witnessed across this land since southern “fire eaters” lay siege to Fort Sumter.

I wonder if some great fatigue of the mind has set in among the class of people who follow the news and especially the tortured antics of Rep. Adam Schiff’s goat rodeo in the House intel Committee the past month. I wonder what the rest of congress is detecting among its constituents back home during this holiday hiatus. I suspect it is that same eerie absence of chatter I noticed, and what it may portend about the nation’s disposition toward reality.

The dead white man Arthur Schopenhauer (1788 – 1860) famously observed that “all truth passes through three stages: first, it is ridiculed; second, it is violently opposed; and third, it is accepted as self-evident.” America has been stuck in stage two lo these thirty-six months since Mr. Trump shocked the system with his electoral victory over She-Whose-Turn-Was-Undoubted, inciting a paroxysm of rage, disbelief, and retribution that has made the Left side of the political transect ridiculous, and repeatedly, ignominiously so, as their fantasies about Russian “collusion” and sequential chimeras dissolve in official proceedings.

The astounding failure of Mr. Mueller’s report did nothing to dampen the violent derangement. There was no rethinking whatsoever about the terms-of-engagement in the Left’s war against the populist hobgoblin. The solidarity of delusion remained locked in place, leading to Mr. Schiff’s recent antics over his false “whistleblower” and the enfilade of diplomatic flak-catchers tasked to ward off any truthful inquiry into events in Ukraine.

But then, with the Thanksgiving shut-down, something began to turn. It was signaled especially in the Left’s chief disinformation organ, The New York Times, with a week-long salvo of lame stories aimed at defusing the Horowitz report, forthcoming on December 9. The Times stories were surely based on leaks from individuals cited in the IG’s report, who were given the opportunity to “review” the briefs against them prior to the coming release. The stories gave off an odor of panic and desperation that signaled a crumbling loss of conviction in the three-year narrative assault on the truth — namely, that the US Intel Community organized a coup to overthrow the improbable President Trump.

From this point forward, the facts of the actual story — many of them already in the public record, one way or another, and sedulously ignored by the news media — will be officially detailed by federal authorities outside the orbit of the coupsters, and finally beyond the coupsters’ control. The facts may include the uncomfortable truth that Mr. Mueller and his helpers were major players in the bad-faith exercises of the Intel Community against the occupant of the White House.

I’m not so sure that the Resistance can keep up the fight, since their enemy is reality as much as reality’s mere personification in Mr. Trump. The violent opposition Schopenhauer spoke of in his three-stage model was just procedural in this case, moving through the courts and committees and other organs of the state. I don’t think the Left can bring the fight to the streets. They don’t have it in them, not even the ANTIFA corps. The hard truths of perfidy and treachery in the upper ranks of government will rain down in the weeks ahead, and when they do, there’s an excellent chance that they will be greeted as self-evident. The Times, the WashPo and the cable news networks will have no choice but to report it all. My guess is that they will display a kind of breathlessly naïve wonder that such things are so. Most remarkably, they might just assert that they knew it all along — a final twitch of bad faith as the new paradigm locks into place.

I expect that we will see something else happen along with that: a loud repudiation of the Democratic Party itself, a recognition that it betrayed the mental health of the nation in its lawless and demented inquisitions. I expect that sentiment will extend to the party’s current crop of candidates for the White House, to the delusional proposals they push, and perhaps even to the larger ethos of the Wokester religion that has programmatically tried to destroy the common culture of this country — especially the idea that we have a duty to be on the side of truth.

It may be that one of the reasons for the flagging Resistance is that President Trump hasn’t done any of the awful things the predicted. No deportation of “Dreamers” or Muslims, no concentration camps for gays (people actually believed that would happen), no oppression of minorities (instead, the lowest unemployment and greatest wealth of blacks in American history), and most of all – no new wars.

Hard to maintain the golem narrative in the face of those facts. Then again, most of our opinions have nothing to do with facts.

    • JohnAZ November 29, 2019 at 11:14 am #

You have something here. Your comments about wars and domestic issues basically begs the question,

If we do not do any of these things, what do we need a Deep State for in the first place?

Maybe this is what terrifies them so much, the agony of downsizing!

      • DrTomSchmidt November 29, 2019 at 1:01 pm #

“Maybe this is what terrifies them so much, the agony of downsizing!”

Ding! We have a winner. The MIC is extremely well paid. They are completely insulated from the effects of failure. You’d protect that kind of gravy train, too, if all you believed in was nominal material wealth.

        • Beryl of Oyl November 29, 2019 at 2:13 pm #

This ties in with my Ronan Farrow quote down thread.

      • abbybwood December 1, 2019 at 11:17 pm #

Here was my “take away” from The Schiff Show:

That those testifying were feeling all faklempt that Trump was now calling all the foreign policy shots (according to the American voters who elected him) instead of the “Deep State Bureaucrats”.

Trump is draining the swamp with the moron Adam Schiff busy pulling the plug.

Schiff has a viable person in a primary against him now. Which is why he recently declared on CNN: “I won’t decide on whether to impeach until I meet with my constituents.”

        What a tool.

    • Janos Skorenzy November 29, 2019 at 12:57 pm #

And in so not doing in regards to the Dreamers, utterly betrayed his Base. Ditto half a dozen or so other promises, most significantly, building The Wall.

      • DrTomSchmidt November 29, 2019 at 1:03 pm #

I can explain his not doing. Did he even try, though? The ban on travelers from mostly Muslim countries was Obama’s policy. I cannot recall that he pushed a Republican Congress to enact any of his policies, except that ridiculous tax cut.

        • SoftStarLight November 29, 2019 at 2:47 pm #

They’re treacherous, all of them. The bestest thing would be to wipe the slate clean and start a new over.

          • toktomi December 1, 2019 at 2:19 am #

            How prescient of you.

But you are not going to like a clean slate, I promise.

But, then, you may be just another algo applied to help clear the way for a clean slate.

            ~toktomi~

          • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 10:47 pm #

Do you believe human activity is poisoning the environment? Do you believe the Elite are setting us up for mass extermination? Haven’t you said so? I never said wiping the slate clean was going to be good, easy, etc. But given everything we are facing it seems like it might be best. I’m no expert so I might be totally wrong and regret my assumption.

      • Nightowl November 30, 2019 at 4:33 am #

I don’t buy it. His so called base is a false construct from the corporate press. Trump is not a traditional Repub. and garnered support for a broader cross-section of the electorate.

Many who support Trump have no issue with immigration, I suspect. They have an issue with poorly controlled immigration, such as the Merkel approach here in Germany.

As for the wall, they have put up or redone 89 miles. Given the resistance he faces in Congress, I would suggest that isn’t so bad.

        • cbeard November 30, 2019 at 9:35 am #

“Many who support Trump have no issue with immigration, I suspect. ” I think your suspicions are dead wrong. I believe in a total immigration moratorium as do most of the Trump electorate. 89 miles of fencing is not even a good start. It is a ridiculous joke.

          • Nightowl November 30, 2019 at 4:51 pm #

You are free to think that, but I am pretty sure you have no clue whether “most” of the electorate agrees with your statement.

    • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 2:06 pm #

So you are saying that because none of the horrors you describe are happening that Trump doing nothing is a good thing? This is the logic of a recovering alcoholic. Because you are not doing self-destructive foolish things to yourself and others anymore you are a good person? No, perhaps that is you goal but all you have taken is the first step in a very long endless journey. I can’t accept your logic that Trump is a great president just because I don’t have a can of Zyklon B dropping on my head in a concrete room right now.

Itemize the good things Trump has done and show me what he is doing to manage the clusterfuck or make the world a better place.
And I am a patient man. I will wait.

      • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 2:15 pm #

And don’t just come up with another short list of feel good fun facts that Trump had nothing to do with. But if you do all you are doing is making a case that Trump is good only because good things happen even should Trump does things that actually prevent things like black Americans becoming richer from happening. If that is happening Trump has nothing to do with it. You shot yourself in the foot good with that one.

      • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 2:16 pm #

even should Trump do things that actually prevent things like black Americans becoming richer from happening.

      • Ishabaka November 29, 2019 at 2:57 pm #

You might want to re-read my post. You missed the point.

  2. Minnie Van Horne November 29, 2019 at 10:24 am #

If for no other reason — but of course there are many additional reasons — the Deep State is frantic to rid themselves of President Trump without delay because of his clear apprehension to launch a military assault on Iran. And now comes the announcement from the governments of Iran, China and Russia that they are about to begin their first joint military exercises. Precisely what will the Liddle bug-eyed baby-raper in the big chair of the House Intelligence Committee do about that?

    • cbeard November 30, 2019 at 9:41 am #

Trump was elected mainly on the immigration, border issue. The next most important issue was to remove us from useless entanglements in foreign war. On both counts he has failed miserably. That said, unless someone better comes along, I will vote for the bastard again.

      • abbybwood December 1, 2019 at 11:23 pm #

I will also vote for the bastard again, even here in hopeless California where little homeless children are shaking with the severe “cold snap” right now.

        California makes ME sick!

        • benr December 2, 2019 at 7:52 am #

California is the future if the Democrat party gets its way.
Their policies are on display for how they destroy even a power house of industry like California.
We have but to look at places like:
          Los Angles
          Detroit
          Chicago
To name just a famous few.

  3. RB November 29, 2019 at 10:25 am #

Personally, I think the Conway marriage is the most interesting item in DC. the GGG piece got old starting with his inauguration speech and crowd numbers. The pols have worn the country out. No juice left to confront the continuing “long emergency “.

    • SoftStarLight November 29, 2019 at 2:44 pm #

Yes, the Conway marriage is perplexing in multiple ways.

  4. Cavepainter November 29, 2019 at 10:37 am #

Oh James, how I wish the outcome would be as you so optimistically describe. I though am of the opinion that the Lefts’ position is “faith based”, now unfettered by reality, meaning we’re headed into what amounts to a religious war. I expect it will cycle through the stages witnessed during the French Revolution. Were I a person of faith I’d say, God help us.

    • JohnAZ November 29, 2019 at 11:10 am #

Revolutions go through two stages, including ours.

Stage one is removal of the offending ruler or ruling class. This was “executed” well during the French Revolution. Ours started with the Declaration and took a war to resolve.

Stage two is harder, what to replace what was removed with. The US went through the Articles of Confederation which did not work and eventually came up with the Constitution which has worked okay for over 200 years. The French tortured themselves by first guillotining the revolutionaries, the doing the Monarchy again, then Napoleon, then another royalist pretender and then many republics since.

Usually the revolution produces a result that is not much unchanged from what started it. So a bunch of people get killed fighting for causes that never get dealt with.

Revolutions will stop only when the folks who do the fighting tell their “masters” to go to hell.

      • Luhrenloup November 29, 2019 at 12:15 pm #

In between your two stages is the guillotine, or hang-’em-high stage. The US skipped that stage because it wasn’t a real revolution. Should there be a real one, heaven help the elites who passed the “let them eat cake” phase a very long time ago. They now regularly paint the people as deplorable, brainwashed, cultist, racist, ignorant. The justice system is in your face with their just-us judiciary, the ever increasing tax and fines burden, the military policing of the people, its ponzi rentier economy.
A real revolution, which as you say doesn’t change the status quo by much, at least gives the peasants their long awaited blood bath . . . Hillary and Bubba, Comey, Strzok, Brennan, Clapper, Pelosi, Schiff, Blasey Ford, DeNiro, Reiner, O’Donnell, Cher, (feel free to add your own.) The list would probably by the size of Rhode Island’s population.

        • Luhrenloup November 29, 2019 at 12:40 pm #

          . . . Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey, Kaepernick, W, Obama & the Missus . . .

        • Janos Skorenzy November 29, 2019 at 1:03 pm #

McCain. They used to dig people up and “execute” their corpses all over again. The Spanish Communists would execute priests and nuns, let them rot for a few weeks, and then dig them and display them with obscene signs. Nice folks, those Communists.

I’m not in favor of any of this for our side, btw. There’s something about cruel and unusual punishments in the Constitution.

          • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 1:16 pm #

God man, try and get your shit right!

The Spanish Communists were priests and nuns. You have communists executing themselves.

The proper way to do cut-up is to randomly mix your phrases into new sentences yes. But before you can use them you have to screen them to see if they make sense. What you pushed out is a chunk of nonsense that did not pass the sniff test.

This is serious blog commentary so don’t be so careless. If you are really ignorant of this stuff start with Michael Bolton and working backwards. He made his bones helping to make communist/priest bones.

And you have been doing so well lately……

          • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 1:21 pm #

I screwed up myself. Michael Bolton is a singer John Bolton is the asshole.

          • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 1:25 pm #

Back in the day Bolton tried to torpedo investigation into alleged drug smuggling and gun running by Reagan-backed contra rebels in the civil war against Nicaragua’s Sandinista government.

There is blood there. Lots of it.

          • SpeedyBB November 29, 2019 at 1:44 pm #

Janos wrote ‘Nice folks, those Communists.’

When it was clear the Republicans were losing the Spanish Civil War they shipped as much of the nation’s gold bullion as they could off to Moscow for ‘safekeeping’.

Stalin was quoted as chuckling ‘That’s the last they’ll ever see of that gold.’

            Honor among commies.

          • draupnir November 29, 2019 at 3:22 pm #

In 897, Pope Stephen VI dug up a predecessor, and put Pope Formosus’s year-dead corpse on trial before the Curia, claiming he was an illegitimate pope. With a deacon acting as the voice of Formosus, Stephen questioned him at length about his usurpation of the Papacy. After finding him guilty, Stephen had him stripped of his papal vestments and three fingers (those used for blessing) cut off.

Politics! It turns out digging up the corpses of former pontiffs was regarding by nearly all as being in extremely bad taste.

          • Luhrenloup November 29, 2019 at 5:04 pm #

In a real revolution, the wife and kids would figure in the bloodlust.

          • BackRowHeckler November 29, 2019 at 6:44 pm #

By 1937 Stalin’s NKVD had essentially taken over Republican Spain, under a Commissar called General Koltsov. It’s the NKVD that carried out the thousands of executions in Spain — of other Communists and Spanish Republicans who did not toe the Stalinist line. The first crematoria in western Europe was set up by the NKVD to dispose of the bodies of the executed in Spain.

This is basically what Orwell’s ‘Homage to Catalonia’ was about.

            Brh

        • DrTomSchmidt November 29, 2019 at 1:06 pm #

We didn’t really skip that stage. We did strip Loyalists of property and deported large numbers of them to Canada, killing a few in the process. Nothing like the French, though.

          • Luhrenloup November 30, 2019 at 1:50 am #

Revolutions are not started by rich men with large plantations and hundreds of slaves. No, this was your typical power grab by guys who were being undercut by the British who were selling their tea and other products cheaper than the colonists’ own. Nobody gave a sweet flying f__k whether they were represented in the British government. Hence no real bloodbath; people’s passions were not aroused, it was about finances, profit.
Now compare that to what happened in Cuba when Castro and his men and women came down from the mountains, a scruffy bunch who not only talked the talk but did the deeds. They were welcomed in every town they traversed as they made their way to the center of power to claim it . . . and to hang everyone who had opposed them. Yes, it was a proper bloodbath.
The left understands perfectly well what needs to be done to rid the country of everyone who will not go along with their program. One can hardly keep count of all those who have called for the assassination of Trump, his family, his allies. Do you think Maxine Waters would hesitate for one minute to do the man bad or worse if she had the power?

        • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 1:41 pm #

          Fun Fact:

Total victims in the American Revolution were far higher. Not that many people overall were guillotined. In total perhaps 10,000.

Think how long it would take to guillotine 100,000 which is closer to the American toll, or a million. If all the victims in WWI were guillotined instead of dying in battle. WWI would still be going on and it would be televised.

I have a though experiment. You have to go back in time and be a peasant in either of the revolutions. I suggest France. Keep your mouth shut and keep a low profile.

But only if you are lame. The big danger would be you might be drafted to fight in one of the many wars going on at the time. If you are of able body choose America. Part of ‘the terror’ was the result of France being at war with more than one country at the time. Political dissent was not a luxury ‘The Mountain’ could afford.

In the thought experiment the time machine will put French in you brain so don’t worry about that.

          • draupnir November 29, 2019 at 3:30 pm #

            6. The guillotine was the principal means of execution, routinely used from the early stages of the Revolution to hack off the heads of counter-revolutionaries.

No. The revolutionaries of 1789 did not foresee the recourse to violence to defend the Revolution and some, like Robespierre in 1791, wanted the death penalty abolished altogether. Execution by guillotine began with the execution of the king in January 1793. A total of 2,639 people were guillotined in Paris, most of them over nine months between autumn 1793 and summer 1794. Many more people (up to 50,000) were shot or died of sickness in the prisons. An estimated 250,000 died in the civil war that broke out in Vendée in March 1793, which originated in popular opposition to conscription into the armies to fight against the foreign powers. Most of the casualties there were peasants or republican soldiers.

Google for “Ten Myths of the French Revolution.”

You are right! Whether something is a lie depends on what you believe and who is telling the whopper.

The meanness of the MSM is what has set everyone’s teeth on edge. I really wonder who is in charge of the Left side of the country, the elected officials in DC and the states, the Media, owned by the Liberal elite, or the Deep State, the liberal body of the Washington bureaucracy.

Or is someone else, higher than these three the culprit. That is what really scares me.

        • Nightowl November 29, 2019 at 12:59 pm #

Trump is a lying megalomaniac; but that’s beside the point.

These are true words. I agree. It is human nature to find easy fault in others when we own exactly the same faults we see. We know our own foibles well, if only through avoidance, that of course we see them in others right away. Response is instant and automatic. Even if we are not aware of what we are doing.

The green-eyed monster also plays. The average American knows he is every bit the stupid buffoon that is Trump. But the average American is not rich and Trump apparently is. This is an unfair situation.

        Unfair according to whom?

How would you re-distribute the wealth to be “fair”? Put all the money in a big pot, and the divide it by the population number and give everyone an equal share?

With our population, in ten years everything would be the same as it started. People are what they are, the spendthrifts would spend their share, the savers would save theirs and the investors would invest theirs.

The Jews have an interesting custom ordained by God’s law. Every seven years, all debts are forgiven. This puts a regulatory slant on debt, the lenders do not over lend because they will lose that money in the end.

Jesus espoused this axiom. “Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” so it is in Christianity also.

It is so easy to think that this government can control everyone’s avarice and lousy money management, half our population think this is so.

Just remind them that this wonderful government cannot control its own power, avarice, spending, legislating for the people to the tune of near government shutdown after spending $23 trillion more than they made.

Hmmm. Would you put your money into a bank with these credentials.

How about, let the people handle their resources as their sense and talents allow. Let the gimmes fall into the safety net.

And quit importing more gimmes to get votes!

No need to discuss much. When crimes at that level are committed they are so obvious, but also so difficult to demand any accountability.

    • JohnAZ November 29, 2019 at 11:18 am #

What crimes? A bunch of made up BS by a group trying to rid themselves of someone.

Google “Is it a crime to use a foreign power to counter a political opponent?” You might be surprised.

As JHK has said, no crime, no results.

      • fineline November 29, 2019 at 2:07 pm #

Good thing lying is not a crime. Its not so much the one telling all the lies. iIts the willingness of those who eagerly brelieve the lies. It did not start just this year. It has been going on for quite some time.

In this century we lied our way into two wars. We let somebody lie and as long as it fits the narrative or somehow suppresses some unspoken truths, we decide the lie is better than the truth so it becomes truth.

John AZ, there is a whole lot of campaign finance violations that nobody can get to the bottom of and there. There are a whole lot of witnesses being muted and the tax returns which could be the Rosetta stone still stay hidden.
Should all investigations seize because the investigated refuses to cooperate? He told a lie just the other day about Baghdadi. He said he was crying and whimpering and begging for his life Trump was not there, but he is the only one aware of this account. The people on the ground actually have a different story. But its a fun lie for all those who are not interested in the truth

Why is it that the people who are certain that Obama was born in Kenya are also the same people who think Trump is innocent of yeverything and anything whether he did it or not

        • Beryl of Oyl November 29, 2019 at 2:24 pm #

We have laws about incriminating yourself.
The courts will rule about those tax returns, and should probably rule against such a fishing expedition.
However, those returns are not hidden, except from those who have no business with them.
They are in the hands of federal and state government.

Rachel Maddow already made a fool of herself over those taxes.

          • Libel Free Zone December 1, 2019 at 12:04 am #

If there’s anything illegal or untoward about Trump’s tax returns, we have an agency, the Internal Revenue Service, that will take care of the matter. Otherwise, Trump’s tax returns are no one else’s business.

  7. benr November 29, 2019 at 10:45 am #

Why is the American left so freaked out about our dear leader?
Because he says what they don’t want to hear!

The beginning of speech intolerance is traced back to Herbert Marcuse a Marxist professor. I can hear some asking why do we care?
His essay that helped launch the modern for lack of a better word progressive movement that launched the latest round of insanity can be found here.

    https://www.marcuse.org/herbert/publications/1960s/1965-repressive-tolerance-fulltext.html

We see this in the constant attacks on our very fine President aka the tangerine tornado.
How dare he go against the progressive movement and all but torpedo queen cankles the hildabeast of Chappaqua by way of Chicago! Chicago you may say yes no wonder her politics are so corrupt. Chicago politics are nothing if not hopelessly corrupt.

Even in the AGW cult where some have begun to demand the jailing of people who question the narrative.

    https://www.motherjones.com/environment/2014/04/dont-arrest-climate-deniers/

Why do the most intolerant people all seem to want Marxism or Socialism while claiming to be tolerant?

    • JohnAZ November 29, 2019 at 11:21 am #

      AGW cult

Are they really there to better the climate picture?

Or to gain international power under a phony banner?

Do they honestly believe the world can do the changes they are advocating without disruptions that will destroy us anyway?

Thank you for posting a pro-science link, benr. One of your better ones. 🙂

No-one reasonable could disagree with it.

I notice you didn’t define ‘some’ – you posted a link before and it turned out it was just er… some bloke.

This author just thinks, quite sensibly, that prominent deniers should have the light shone on them, their funding, their activities and their motives.

I’m good with that too and I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are as well.

      • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 11:27 am #

And here I was going to sit this one out, but you had to go and bring in your totally irrelevant hobby horse.

      • benr November 29, 2019 at 12:49 pm #

The author was countering the brain washed group that want people Shutdown, silenced, de-platformed and possibly jailed.
There are a few that would have screamed b/s to this reality.

        The brain trust so speakeths:

        https://abcnews.go.com/Technology/view-considers-limits-free-speech-online-facebooks-ban/story?id=62802654

There are those that deny leftists are being taught the above so I linked the essay that essentially kick started this thought process.

they both mesh if you take an impartial view of it.

        • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 2:33 pm #

You mentioned ‘them’ before, benr, and all I saw was one misguided person saying something stupid and unacceptable about climate science deniers.

I don’t support what the misguided person said.

I do support acceptance of the recommendations of proper scientists and public debate of the consequences of those recommendations.

I’m not getting into the whole Facebook saga because it’s just an attempt to obfuscate regarding the main point.

Perhaps we can leave climate science now – you didn’t need to bring it up at all.

          • benr November 30, 2019 at 8:40 am #

The point of the facebook thing was to prove there are people openly discussing shutting down dissenting views.

This means funding, websites, peoples methods of earning a living all for having a countering view and not being in lockstep.
That is the reality and when people are that rigid and controlling not only is the message being distorted but it makes some begin to question the actual motive.

    • Walter B November 29, 2019 at 11:49 am #

The intolerant want Marxism and Socialism because they cannot think for themselves benr, and they require their masters to do the thinking for them. The my-way-or-the-highway mentality has been adopted universally by those spoiled brat, baby types that replaced the idiots that used to stick their fingers in their ears and blather out, nah, nah, nah, nah, or something to that effect when hearing what they did not want to be told. They are weak and worthless and a dangerous combination when given a vote or a platform on which to spout the personal attacks and whining that comprise most of their dialog. Ignoring them may not be so easy, but it is really the best way don’t you think?

      • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 12:33 pm #

Out of interest, Walter, when it came to blackout curtains in the second world war to make it harder for the Luftwaffe to bomb civilians, do you think it was reasonable for that decision to be made by the UK government and applied universally – and with penalties for non-compliance – or do you think the decision to expose one’s neighbours to the increased likelihood of being bombed was one that should have been left to individuals ‘thinking for themselves’?

        • benr November 29, 2019 at 12:36 pm #

So you all but admit that there is an actual idea logic war going on?

          • Nightowl November 29, 2019 at 12:52 pm #

The correct answer is that the comparison is ridiculous. In one scenario the threat is imminent and obvious. In the other, no one really understands how the threat works or how bad it really is.

          • Nightowl November 29, 2019 at 4:15 pm #

Ok. Do you have academic or professional credentials relating to climate science?

Kindly point me to a place where I can find information from both skeptics and supporters, compared and put into layman’s terms — including access to all evidence available for the claims.

To date, I can’t seem to find such information and am more confused than anything. Given the confidence you seem to have, I hope that you will be able to direct me to such a resource or resources.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 4:56 pm #

            Nightowl

Scientists are sceptics, by nature and conviction. So that’s where you go for information.

Most of them agree on the broad consensus of which you are aware. A small number don’t (I’m sure you can find them, given your abilities in ferreting out information about all sorts of other things). Christopher Monckton is not a scientist; James Delingpole is not a scientist; Scott Pruitt is not a scientist; ExxonMobil has employed scientists who famously came up with the same conclusions as the majority of other scientists not funded by fossil interests.

(Scott Pruitt, BTW, is a lawyer, who specialised in defending Christians in religious liberty cases – I mean what better credentials would you look for if you wanted to appoint someone to run the EPA?)

The physical science (physical chemistry in this instance) demonstrates that addition of CO2 to the atmosphere causes warming. Decades of scientific work have demonstrated, to the satisfaction of the majority of scientists working in the field, that the main driver at the present time is human activity.

Here’s a site that gives both sides:

            https://skepticalscience.com/argument.php

I’ve posted it many times before. It gives both sides, in that it states the position of ‘sceptics’, then answers the claim with science. It is referenced, so if there’s an answer you’re not clear about, you can read the references. The magic thing about referenced articles is that they too have references, and so on, ad infinitum. So by the time you’ve done a whole lot of delving, you’ll know a heck of a lot.

But you’re not going to find an equivalent number of articles demonstrating that the consensus on AGW is mistaken for the same reason that you’re not going to find a whole lot of articles showing that smoking doesn’t cause cancer. Because unfortunately it does.

Anything you don’t find convincing you can look up further on the interwebz. One thing that there’s no shortage of is denier memes so you’ll find what you want. But make sure the claims of by the denier memes are as well referenced as the other articles you’re reading. And credentials do matter – someone who’s been leading a climate science team at the Max Planck Institute for 30 years genuinely does know what he’s talking about more than someone Trump placed in the EPA to muzzle the EPA.

Basically, Nightowl, just use the same perseverance and seeking after truth that you do when it comes to politics, the Deep State and the media.

But the Skeptical Science website is a good place to start because it has 197 ‘sceptical’ objections to the currently accepted science and you can read every one of them.

You can also go onto the Royal Society website, and to RealClimate, which openly displays actual discussions between actual climate scientists.

If you’re looking for a spreadsheet that gives equal weight to ‘sceptical’ memes and scientific facts, that would be hard to find, because they just don’t have equal weight. And you’re used to doing your own homework, so just do it.

If you don’t accept the consensus of scientific conclusions it’s up to you to justify your position. They’ve done their bit and it’s all there for you to research.

Nightowl, the smart move is to never question any of these “climate” gigs, and simply agree that those who worship at those alters are correct. Be quick to question what is it that they are planning to do about it though because that seems to have a soothing effect. How are they going to save the planet this time we can only wonder.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 5:30 pm #

“Nightowl, the smart move is to never question any of these “climate” gigs, and simply agree that those who worship at those alters (sic) are correct. ”

The smart move, Walter, is to educate yourself and arm yourself with evidence before you argue about things you don’t know about.

That saves you the embarrassment of making silly false analogies about worshipping at altars.

Note I have never once brought up the subject of climate science on this website, so you can blame the endless discussions on the agents provocateurs Personally I’m sick of it.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 5:32 pm #

“Be quick to question what is it that they are planning to do about it though because that seems to have a soothing effect.”

What WE are planning to do about it is what we should be discussing, not endlessly pretending nothing’s happening.

But I’m amused that you find it logical to ask what we are going to do about something you allege doesn’t exist.

          • Walter B November 29, 2019 at 5:48 pm #

You are the one who says it exists GA,so please, humor me and lay out your plan to eliminate the problem. I cannot say whether it is a real man made problem or not but I can tell you one thing for sure and that is that those who profit from the sale and use of fossil fuels have more than enough wealth and thereby power to make sure that nothing is going to change.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 6:37 pm #

I’m not the one who says it exists, Walter. I’m the one who accepts the evidence of those who’ve done the work. I just happen to have been following it for more than 20 years.

And I agree with you those who profit from the sale of fossil fuel have made it impossible to do anything for decades.

At this stage all we can hope to do is mitigate the effects, since the effects have already made themselves felt and a further 30 years of increased effects are already baked in no matter what we do today. And try to prevent the increase in average temperature from getting as high as it will if we continue exactly as we are doing.

I didn’t ask you to approve anyone’s suggestions for solutions – I just ask people to stop pretending that the difficulty in finding solutions doesn’t reflect on the science of what’s happening. Why should hard-working scientists be insulted incessantly with nonsense about cults and altars?

I don’t understand why you’re angry with scientists and you’re not the remotest bit bothered by the fossil fuel lobbies that funded the disinformation for decades when we might have had more of a chance of doing something if we hadn’t wasted the time they wanted us to waste arguing about the wrong things.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 6:40 pm #

Sorry, “to stop pretending that the difficulty in finding solutions reflects on the science of what’s happening.”

          • Walter B November 29, 2019 at 7:35 pm #

Rather obtuse of you to tell me I am not bothered by lobbyists for the mega corps making profits off of the abuse GA, because I certainly have despised the system of pay to play and always have. Unfortunately, far too many humans are willing to sell out our present AND our futures for worthless pieces of green shit-paper. How might we mitigate the effects GA because I got nothing.

Speaking of mankind’s lust to destroy everything they touch, in the real world I am currently battling with the solid waste people at the government level. The building up of garbage around here has intensified since the advent of foreign nations refusing our refuse. Talk about fighting a losing battle, these guys play hardball and they play for keeps. Civilians who sit back and ponder lofty solutions would do themselves a great learning adventure should they stumble into the Arena against these Bad Boys.

Like I said, ain’t nothin anybody gonna do about it but whine.

          • Walter B November 30, 2019 at 7:50 am #

The first thing that jumped out at me in that video was how they were questioning whether burning coal was actually staving off the warming because of the particulate in the atmosphere. Seemed to fly in the face of lowering carbon footprints to me. And while we are on the subject of destroying the planet, how about those assholes that gave us nuclear power as a way to boil water:

            https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/germany-is-closing-all-its-nuclear-power-plants-now-it-must-find-a-place-to-bury-the-deadly-waste-for-1-million-years/ar-BBXxJfK?ocid=spartandhp

Closing them down is a problem for storage of the deadly crap, but keeping them going and spreading the radioactive garbage all around is better? Boy are we all in trouble.

          • benr November 30, 2019 at 8:35 am #

            @walter

            I agree nuclear power is a non-starter.
There is simply no safe way to contain this poison as it tends to decay everything it touches.
I read that there are thousands of tons of the stuff buried in the silt of the Colorado river the major drinking water for the desert southwest and even more stored in a cave very near to this water source.
I recently read of a volcano that blew it’s top and caused a mini ice age that killed millions and there was more than one.

            https://www.livescience.com/18205-ice-age-volcanoes-sea-ice.html

The term DARK AGES was more than just a bad time the amount of light getting to the surface of the earth was also affected by crap blown into the atmosphere.

            https://www.nature.com/news/2008/080311/full/news.2008.665.html

I also read that there are two types of volcanos and what they put into the atmosphere one causes cooling and the other causes warming.

            https://scied.ucar.edu/shortcontent/how-volcanoes-influence-climate

This actually makes more sense than most theories I have read.

Give me the warming cause the cooling sucks.

I don’t care about the illusion of consensus. Controversial topics supported by the establishment are always full proponents on the monied side, so that isn’t going to sway me either.

There has been a real change in the American public. A large plurality want dependence on the government now. Most of these are urban dwellers who are totally dependent on some sort of a boss, including the vast majority of our illegal immigrants from the past couple of decades. The cities are also centers for the various crime groups that pervade the country now. The city dwellers want what they can get from the various levels of government as much as possible. Naturally, the majority of them vote Democrat.

Woe be to them if in the desire for security and someone to take care of them, they give up their liberty, the only thing that really counts. Give it away, and you will never get it back.

  8. JohnAZ November 29, 2019 at 10:51 am #

The key is understanding that the Progressives and youth movement in this country want the USA and its common culture to cease. They want something else in its place, something that has no cars, no coal, no aircraft, no defense, no heat, no meat etc., no real foreign policy. Other than this, they do not have a clue what they want. They do not realize that the US that allows them the right to act like idiots is the US they want to tear down. It is the progression (small P) of this idiocy and its impact on the working class of the country that elected Trump, who stood up in rally’s and told these folks that they were not forgotten by him like The Deep State plowed them under sending all their jobs to offshore sites. Even the off year reaction elected moderate Dems, not progressives.

The politically correct element of our society is another idiocy fomented by this group. Politically correct, my foot. As long as you agree with them, everything is cool. Otherwise, you are shunned with a reverse bigotry bias. These reverse bigots out number the paltry numbers of the KKK type of white supremacists, but no one wants to talk about that. The effect on humor in the country is also involved with PC. One of the signs of maturity is to realize that we all have quirks and idiosyncrasies and laugh at ourselves. Never in my lifetime have I seen such vitriol fired at one person as DJT. Not humor, vitriol. Aimed at him, his family, his contingent in DC, and half of the US that agrees with his policies. Humor does not exist any more, anywhere. Late night TV is not a joke.

And that’s why they’ve gained such power – you “Conservatives” jettison your own most radical people by Witch Hunts to find “racists”. One side (theirs) has the Big Tent approach with No Enemies to the Left while your side is all about Enemies to the Right. Thus you have assured your own ultimate Defeat if not their Victory per se.

      • Beryl of Oyl November 29, 2019 at 2:42 pm #

That reminds me (“jettison” and “racists”).
The NYT tacitly jettisoned Kamala Harris, and threw their support to Michael Bloomberg, by obtaining a resignation letter from one of her staff.
Kamala has already blamed any of her failures on racists and sexists, not seeming to realize she is running for the Democrat’s nomination, so that would be where the racism and sexism would be coming from, wouldn’t it?
Anyhow, the Times and the Democrats, despite what they claim, are just fine with white male billionaires when income streams are being interfered with.

        • SoftStarLight November 29, 2019 at 2:56 pm #

Kamala Harris had a sordid path in her rise to power.

Everyone has an inner bigot John. Human nature is what it is. Remember the Gimmes? Its time to let go of thinking that its wrong. Your opponents certainly plan to use bigotry against you to the utmost to ensure their victory. Better is kinda relative if your a slave. Most people will never let you know about their inner White Supremacist. But its interesting because certainly more Blacks and Browns are happy to share their respective inner supremacists with you. Funny how that works.

The GOP ideal is minimum government and maximum individualism. The Dems are the opposite. It is what separates the country into two groups.

The GOP want a level playing field for people to compete in. The Dems are a myriad of groups each with their own demands on the government to give them what they want. There has always been much more bigotry in the Dems, the home of the KKK, Jim Crow and all forms of segregation. They are the real party of hate!

One piece of good news, recent polls has indicated that the Blacks are getting wise to the Democrat line of BS and are looking for alternatives. Kamala Harris and Corey Booker are the latest victims of the Dems real aims.

        • SoftStarLight November 30, 2019 at 3:46 am #

The Dems have historically been engaged in identity politics much longer than Republicans, however, the US today is unfortunately a patchwork of unconnected factions that have a multitude of competing views on culture and society. So identity politics is here to stay. Maximum individualism will not be effective in preserving traditional America from the multicultural onslaught. The newcomers are proud of their collective identities and have no interest in true assimilation.

The Antifa Corps …. there’s a video floating around out there, shows an Antifa Corps members stopping traffic on a public street, one Corps Member gets in front of a car, but the car keeps rolling, slowly. The Corps Member then steps aside, but as the car passes he kicks the door. But then the car stops in the middle of the street, the driver jumps out with alacrity and proceeds to beat the sh#t out of the Antifa Corps member where he stood. I notice Antifa Corps Members like to pick on elderly people but in this case they picked on the wrong guy, and paid the price. I know, I know, the assailant was a fascist, not some ordinary Joe who didn’t appreciate being f#kkd with.

You make a great point Jim, this cannot ever move into the streets. The last non-black people to riot, if I am not mistaken, were the WWI vets and today’s pansies either don’t have the stones for such drastic action or are sedated by the fine mists of aluminum oxide and lithium filtering down from the troposphere. Add to that the medicated and liquored up tens of millions and the army of 500 and 600 pounders on the couches out there and the Loonie Lefties are left only with Hillary Iron-Rodham Clinton as a force of violence. And of course, the few on her payroll that serve her still. I am amazed that America’s 5 minute attention span has been able to be extended for these three long years now, but clearly the inertia behind the movement is fading rapidly.

Adam Schiff’s show trial has been a failure at the box office. Apparently the public has little interest in it, no matter how big a promotional budget is thrown at it. Such a shame that the previous season’s blockbuster starring Robert Mueller and 16 supporting prosecutors fizzled into the most disappointing downer of an ending. It sent the target demographic fleeing from the multiplex and nothing Mr. Schiff has been able to dream up has been able to herd them back inside.

Will that other holiday release from the competing studio, the one authored by Michael Horowitz, be able to ignite some interest? Maybe if it starts with some photo-ops of James Comey, John Brennan, and superstar Barack Obama being perp-walked down a dazzling red carpet.

    • Beryl of Oyl November 29, 2019 at 2:45 pm #

      • Minnie Van Horne November 29, 2019 at 7:34 pm #

When Hollywood does the inevitable screen version of the show trial, the role of Adam Schiff must be played by someone who combines all the charisma, macho sex appeal and gravitas of a Don Knotts, or maybe a Paul Rubens (aka PeeWee Herman).

I’ll postulate the long term success of any large group of rich people is impossible. Any large group of rich people will only see themselves and nobody else over time. Everybody else turns into a dirty minority not worth consideration and become subhuman.

A tribe of exclusivity builds. Over time life rich life begins to resemble life in a Michael Jackson celebrity bubble. The rich live in a private neverland but they can’t appreciate the amount of energy it takes to keep all their neverlands going. Not understanding the entropy of the situation, their bubbles must burst.

Carrying the analogy further, going on tour to get more money from poor people as old rockers do will be impossible because the poor will be already picked to the bone. No surplus to distribute and it is simple physics born from a myopic misapprehension of how things really are. All resulting from tribe think ignoring math because that is what tribe think does.

Let’s imagine a worst case but potentially real scenario:

In the 2020 general next year, the Opposition wins the WH (it really doesn’t matter who for these purposes).

Let’s say the popular vote is 5% (well, any percent) over Trump, and the EC is also tipped against him by 1 State (let’s say Pennsylvania.

The election has been dominated by Hillbilly Rallies where Himself spends a good quarter of his time screaming that its all rigged (maybe so, but it can’t be proven).

Come Inauguration Day, Himself declares the election invalid and says he’s not going anywhere.

How many scenarios can our CFN board envisage for such a circumstance?

Nobody wants to talk about declining resources and adjusting our way of life. To do so people would have to admit there are problems to be solved and dangers on our horizon. That is not going to happen.

Denial rules. Monuments of stone in the public square are carved to worship denial and the political system in America is constructed to facilitate the earning of great riches, and not the solution of social ills or a rational system that could endure.

Yet a bigger bigger problem than denial prevents Americans from stepping up to reality.

America is built on exploitation and the worship of inequality. Consequently America is a land without SOLIDARITY which leaves everyone isolated. Justice and a fair shake become impossible in a land of isolation and now with digital enforcement impossible becomes hopeless. Everybody gets picked off one smart phone screen at a time now. Our rulers know their Sun Tzu very well. The American dream is to ‘make it’ and leave everyone else behind. It is a dream without SOLIDARITY which makes all vulnerable.

Any philosophy which expresses a social consciousness is suppressed, and if need be by the deep state violence in America. Socialism in America has the social cache as being publicly outed as a pervert or pedophile.

      This will not end well.

      • Walter B November 29, 2019 at 12:41 pm #

Denial, it not just a river in Egypt.

      • Janos Skorenzy November 29, 2019 at 1:38 pm #

And you admit then I assume, that the Solidarity must be organic, based on ties of history and blood? The mystic chords of memory? Does Marxist Socialism meet this standard? No. What kind of Socialism does meet this standard? Think real hard. That the Media has lambasted it for generations only speaks in its favor, does it not?

I had to look that up! Yes, I agree with you. I don’t think we are anywhere near the Golden Age of Rome. If only we could have Emperors or Philosopher Kings. The Five Good Emperors of that dynasty had absolute authority and yet governed moderately and shared power with the Roman Senate. Interestingly, four of the Five Good Emperors were adopted. It is believed that this is an important factor in the prosperity and peace of the times. Apparently many of the Emperors who gained the thrown via hereditary succession were sub standard.

The nonsense of a billionaire who got his shit by way of bankruptcy and who cheats people being one of the people is a crock.

A crock that will get Trump re-elected. Not because of anything good about him. Trump is just the one who gives lip service to being one of the people and the former Demadope pary does not see the need for any of that. Instead the Demadope idiots believe that haughty arrogance is the way to win the hearts and minds of the people. Somehow emotional distance is supposed to procure envy or something leading to more votes? They confuse being innovative with being stupid. It is a mistake rooted in arrogance and a superior condescending attitude and it is going to backfire huge. Every appearance by Biden grinds salt in the wound. Average Americans can’t snap their fingers together and make Ukrainian money appear out of thin air for their family and they resent people who can. Seriously.

Quantitative easing kept the rich on top but it gave grandmas life savings no action at all. Through hell and high water grandma saved her money and now it sits in an investment earning less than 1% interest. A month goes by and it earns enough for a happy meal at Mickey D’s with a small Coke and that is all.

Now to get by Grandma needs a part time job and she would rather splurge on grandkids and get them cheap plastic shit than watch all her savings dwindle away.

    Grandma is for Trump.

And grandma hopes to die before all her money is gone.

Oh K-Dog, you’ve found Trump’s Achilles heal. Namely that he’s been great for Wall Street and the 1%; not so great for the rest of America which continues a decades long downhill slide.

The Dems virtually ignore this weakness and engage in supporting radical left-wing agendas which don’t resonate with the heartland. Examples include but are not limited to:

      1) Ignoring immigration laws entirely, and embracing anyone who can get pass the border with social benefits, free healthcare, sanctuary cities.

      2) Not simply tolerating, but applauding every sexual peccadillo out there. Encouraging children as young as 6 to learn all about “alternative lifestyles” and sexual practices.

      3) Demeaning, discriminating against, and holding people in moral contempt based on skin color and gender alone. In this case white and male.

      4) Confiscating guns under the excuse of mental instability which could include AGW climate change denial or believing CNN is not telling us the pure truth.

      5) Killing infants one day away from a natural birth and then smugly and self righteously claiming “the moral high ground”.

      6) In general these depraved left-wingers are so vested in their luciferian. globalist agenda, they can’t even conduct a meaningful dialogue with normal people.

you’ve found Trump’s Achilles heal. Namely that he’s been great for Wall Street and the 1%; not so great for the rest of America which continues a decades long downhill slide. Nothing new here.

Yes we must inflate our way out of debt just remember that all that hard work and learning you did for that $30-$40 dollar an hour job now counts for nothing since the kid flipping burgers now makes $15 for learning nothing. That happy meal was $4 dollars not so long ago and now it’s $10.
We now have more debt, less savings and the price of everything is going through the roof!
Shall we play the game of more default credit swaps and zirp as well?
I see the banking industry has again started making loans to people who simply can’t pay it back.

Take note of car prices used cars under 10k are essentially death traps and the cheapest piece of junk new cars essentially start at 20k. The average now is over $30k and up.
The inflation has been eating away at savings and now most Americans have $400 dollars in savings not even enough for an emergency.

The sub-prime auto loan became a new financial racket when the mortgage racket foundered.

Cash For Clunkers did terrible things to the bottom of the used car market.

Service has improved at my local McDonald’s since Andrew Cuomo stupidly decreed that those in one particular job category were deserving of higher pay than millions of other New Yorkers were getting. Andrew was ignorant of what New Yorkers outside of his circle actually make.
Now there seem to be adults willing to work there for an extra job.

In our competitive society, there is always someone that is willing to take your money away from you. Individual wisdom on the corrupt ness of government, the thievery of the internet and just basic rules of the road about finances are a necessity today. The government is your enemy in this realm, not your friend.

Today, out of curiosity I looked up what Wikipedia has to say about Hunter Biden and found the following comment.

“He has been the subject of debunked rightwing conspiracy theories concerning his business dealings in Ukraine.”

Did you hear that, all you right wing conspiracy nuts? Move along now, nothing improper to see here. All suspicions have been “debunked”. Why? Because the guy writing the Wikipedia article says so.

The article mentions Hunter’s “decades struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. He has described his experiences thusly: “There’s addiction in every family. I was in that darkness. I was in that tunnel—it’s a never-ending tunnel. You don’t get rid of it. You figure out how to deal with it”

Hear that? The poor dear has been suffering in a dark tunnel; not partying like a self-indulgent, drug crazed satyre. Another misconception debunked. Thank God for Wikipedia.

Wikipedia is Snopes-level comedy at this point. It exists to reinforce the fake corporate news machine.

I used to enjoy going to the Way Back Machine to find politically damaging things they pulled out of their enemies’ bios. I don’t even bother anymore as the edits are predictable and more humorous than anything.

      • K-Dog November 29, 2019 at 8:22 pm #

The Way Back Machine. It has a ring of IMPARTIALITY to it does it not? You don’t have to answer that.

The WBM was great. Simply provided snapshots of a given Web site at different moments in time.

It was an excellent source for comparing how Wiki editors would stealth edit items in the aftermath of political events.

      Who debunked the right wing?

The only one I heard talking was Biden himself. If old Joe said it, it must be a fact, right?

One comment. During Obama’s administration everyone advising him got rich, working and using influence anywhere they could. It was not considered corruption or a crime then. Just now, when the Trump folks are getting clobbered

Goat rodeo? Too mild a term.

Congressmen turned what should have been sessions of learned deliberation in the august chambers of the Capitol into ludicrous goat-fucks. They make Pakistan’s Assembly, where politicians are bought and sold like cattle, look like a bastion of temperance and honesty and integrity.

And, in comparison to Washington, that place near Buckingham Palace – that place that houses that disreputable assembly of charlatans which daily disgrace the Mother of Parliaments, where doddering cretins go to drool, where you get modern-day insight as to the narrow avoidance of conquest by the Wehrmacht – looks like a hive of political innovation and entrepreneurship, where energetic, clear-sighted leaders’ daily output is rationality and reason. Only in comparison to Washington.

Congress is impossible not to mock. Schiff is impossible to not laugh at. You can’t do it. Shumer is impossible to not shudder at. Pelosi is purpose-built for Rich Little.

In that place did Mueller make Biden sound lucid. How many years and how many millions and now THIS, a national disgrace on a par with the Italian military. How could you not avert your eyes and cringe in embarrassment?

Your daily routine? Mockery in the morning, contempt with your coffee.

Congress is a place where “truth” has no place, where Lady Justice needs a protective belt. It’s not too far a stretch to say that what you see right in front of you, day-by-day, year-by-year, is civilization in decline.

What did Imperial Rome look like in its latter days? Less ridiculous than this.

I think you may be confusing the House of Commons with the House of Lords. Legislation is passed (or not) in the House of Commons, where the average age is 50.

You may consider my 43-year-old MP a ‘doddering cretin’ if you think you know everything about everyone, but he went to school in what used to be one of the most deprived areas of Edinburgh, a part of the city that contributed to its one-time reputation as the drugs capital of Europe.

Despite his background, he graduated at age 20 from Edinburgh University (one of the ‘Russell group’) with an honours degree, and while studying he helped finance himself by working in a fish and chip shop, then starting up and running a pizza delivery service.

He continues to be a good local MP. You should not let your views on Brexit allow you to talk in ridiculous hyperbolic generalisations. My MP is not a one-off, whatever my own jaundiced views on a whole lot of MPs.

            GA

So many of those dispossessed found their ways to Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the USA. In fact, the whole southern mountain states – Virginia, WA, Kentucky, North Carolina – are brimming with the old Scots-Irish family names.

The music of the ‘hollers’ is so connected to the Gaelic traditions. Here we find, ironically, some of the most vehement support oh Himself.

I just finished reading a biography of one Peter Fraser, prime minister of New Zealand from 1940 -1949…extremely powerful formative years for a small, young colony at the arse-end of the planet. He was Scottish-born, as were many of our early politicians, though he succeeded an Irish-born PM, one Michael Joseph Savage.

Elected in 1935, his was the first Labour GoverNment. In parallel with FDR, that government established our modern welfare state, and Fraser’s government entrenched & expanded it.

The point of this long-winded story is that the NZ welfare state was born of Scots & Irish immigrants (the Labour movement, not just the instrumental PMs), and this is the same stock that found a home in the Eastern mountain states of the USA. I believe Bernie’s message resonates with the DNA of many such Americans.

And you wonder about that too. What this points to is a severe degradation in the ability to think among our alleged “elites”. To destroy that which keeps you alive? Not very bright. But what can you do but believe what’s under your nose.

You have a point there too about incursions.

The thing that gets me is the blithe lack of awareness of what the ancestors of those people that come from Latin America accomplished, having built spectacular cities with pyramids and astronomic observatories and magnificent works of art.

If the alleged elites that run the show think that these humble campesinos will be happy to be lettuce pickers or chicken eviscerators until the end of time then they’re sadly mistaken. If they think that those darker hued fellas won’t keep their hands off their lily-white daughters and vice versa, then they’re wrong about that too.

What I’m getting at is elite displacement, something that isn’t remotely on their radar. If they had any reading of history they’d know their spot on top of the pyramid is pretty damn shaky. They look down on Hispanics and folk with amerindian blood. Bad idea.

You know how it is, those whom the gods would destroy they first make proud.

Yes, a lack of respect for what the enemy brings to the table. I agree with your points but I don’t think the campesinos will be putting up pyramids anytime soon though there are always surprises. But now human sacrifice? Well sorta. There are many many American victims now. But its virtually a taboo to talk about. Thus there will probably never be a Kate Steinle law. She wasn’t worth it and neither are we.

    Majella,

thanks for that bit of enlightenment about the NZ stock market. I had no idea. I think I said this already but the blinkered intelligentsia and the not-so-intelligentsia on this side of the water can learn from what others do. All it takes is to shut up for a change and listen.
As far as John Michael Greer goes, for my part I ignore his stuff on magic, Dion Fortune, and all that other mystical stuff. As far as his arrogance goes, he sez himself that he’s an Aspie. I’ve seen this lack of social antennae before and I’m often socially oblivious myself which causes exasperation for my poor wife, so personally I’ll cut him some slack.

But Greer does make some really good points. Sometimes I agree with him and sometimes I disagree but I find him pretty sharp. He made the right call on Trump blaring that he’d win the election long before it happened.

And I’ll grant him this as far as religious beliefs go, people tend to shit on the whole idea, especially us – cough – educated folk, but Greer is right in that the scientific approach or method can’t encompass the entirety of human experience. It’s like this one commenter said on Greer’s site, science doesn’t do well with one-off phenomena. And people tend to confuse POSSIBLE explanations for occurrences with ACTUAL explanations. The two aren’t equivalent. In any case, I’ll cut some slack here too, I don’t think the warp and weft of the cosmos is so tight that odd stuff can’t slip through the weave here and there. And besides, for all the strutting that scientists do, they don’t know everything, like for instance what comprises the vast bulk of the universe, ie so-called “dark matter”. Anyway, that’s my two cents on Greer.

    • Majella November 29, 2019 at 2:46 pm #

      Hey, Volodya

Thanks for your posts. They’re so reasoned and though I don’t entirely agree as vehemently as you regarding “a pox on both their houses”, I’m no supporter of the Democratic Party or blind to its hypocrisy.

Likewise, the hypocrisy of the GOP is equally nauseating. And in the Centre of this quagmire of distrust and uncertainty stands Himself.

I guess he’s been successful in distracting most from the reality of what’s happening in government (the dismantling of the administrative state). He’s certainly succeeded in distracting me. The disdain I hold him in is implacable.

I’ve yet to get onto JM Greer, but plan to this Sunday.

You’re right about science not knowing everything. However, it doesn’t purport to. What’s more, it recognizes that it knows what it doesn’t know -such as the postulated ‘dark matter’. It’s a placeholder with a sign stuck to it saying ‘What is this? We don’t know, so feel free to get to work on it…’

To date, many things that were once miracles & magical things – earthquakes, eclipses, infection & how to treat it – have been explained by science. Many of the current mysteries, miracles & magical things will also be explained through scientific advancement.

Long time reader of JHK and follower of this blog but first time poster.

I first started reading JHK books with The Long Emergency. At the time I thought of JHK as a centrist with some liberal leanings quite similar to Thom Hartmann author of The Last Hours of Ancient Sunlight.

I am not sure what has happen to JHK in the last few months to be honest. I don’t know if his book sales are down or less people are reading this blog but there has almost been a complete paradigm shift in his posted content to that of almost a complete Alt-Right blogger. Maybe JHK is trying to reel in more viewers and readers by becoming yet another alt right talking head…as of late all of blog posts are filled with all the alt right buzzwords. (Deep State,Globalists,Neo-Liberals etc. )

Atrax — I’ll tell you exactly what’s up with me — though my position ought to be consistently clear in three years of twice-a-week blog-posts. I regard the behavior of Mr. Trump’s antagonists as more dangerously dishonest than the president himself, and to such a degree that this mendacious, self-styled “Resistance” is a menace to our republic. I believe events and facts will bear this out in the months ahead. Once that it happens, you will among the ones who realizes that the perfidy of the left was self-evident. — JHK-Admin

Honestly, with this Monday’s latest blog if you gave me it on a blank sheet of paper and obscured the author’s name and had me guess who wrote I would guess either Alex Jones or Sean Hannity. Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed JHK wrote such alt-right drivel. It is as if JHK has become a Trumpet calling the impeachment a farce and some sort of big liberal Deep State conspiracy design to undermine our Constitution when in fact the biggest threat to our Constitution is the dumb orange man himself.

The comparison I will make to JHK paradigm shift in views reminds me of Lou Dobbs.

When he was on CNN years ago he was quite an agreeable person. A centrist with a strong belief that America needs a strong border and a clear path to LEGAL immigration.

Once Lou Dobbs switch to Fox News he became yet another batshit insane alt-right buzzword spout talking head.

I just don’t think I can support JHK in this new direction he is taking this blog into. Soon there will be stormfront ,4chan /pol/ users ,and Reddit the Donald users becoming the target audience JHK will attract.

I don’t think he understands that the impeachment is like a ship that must be kept at sea and never allowed to reach port.

It is a matter of billing.

Four minutes and thirty second into the clip the concept is explained.

Hillary tried to stop Bernie, so why wouldn’t Obama? Especially IF Michelle were to run. So far, she’s the only real chance the Dems have. Obama wouldn’t have much to do. Michelle would slay the Socialist.

This birdbrain wants to make sure the coup attempt succeeds by slowing down the impeachment inquiry enough so it can maybe stumble across a crime.

      • Majella November 30, 2019 at 12:46 am #

I posted this upthread, after Venuspluto expressed the thought that it would need 2/3rds of the military to support a ‘coup’, which I took him to mean in the political sense.

But ponder this are play me the movie of how it might unravel:
VP – that’s a pretty scary thing to voice, my man.

        • volodya November 30, 2019 at 12:32 pm #

This scenario has a non-zero chance of happening.

Trump screams “rigged, rigged, rigged” anyway. And guys like Michael Moore agree with him.

A narrow Democrat victory – where there are accusations of vote tampering or electoral fraud favoring the Democrat victor – could well happen.

Then ponder the group-think and the shit that a room full of Republicans can talk themselves into (WMDs and the Iraqi war as exhibits A and B) even if the fraud accusations are false, or even if they’re plausible but have scant or no actual proof.

I was chatting with an exec at our company in the aftermath of the 2000 election debacle. He said that the vote was very likely a tie. He said that if you re-counted the entirety of the votes cast ten times over you’d get ten different results given the inevitable errors that creep into even the most solid vote- counting system. And you’d probably get Al Gore winning half the recounts and Dubya winning half.

So what if it happens in 2020, that is a virtual 50-50 split in the popular vote, a narrow win in the EC, and a multitude of disputed vote counts? What if the election night results are a call for Trump’s opponent? Does Trump refuse to vacate the White House? What if he did refuse? Who goes in and extricates him assuming the issue ends up in the courts and the courts decide against him? What if armed militias start showing up in Washington and start assembling in the streets ie around the White House?

But what if the courts side with Trump? Then what?

What if the generals sit and watch chaos unfold and then decide to move in with the tanks and sort things out themselves? What if they start thinking they could get used to sitting in the opulence of the White House and the splendor of the Capitol Building? What are those generals thinking nowadays anyway? That maybe this democracy stuff is a bit oversold? That maybe what the country could use is a bit of spit-and-polish discipline? Some yessir, nosir straight answers?

Your obtuseness is in pretending you don’t know what you’re doing. There’s a Kiwi expression, probably Scottish originally, and I can’t say I’ve heard it in the States: “Butter wouldn’t melt (in your mouth)”. Our usage of it means the speaker can lie like a flatfish and feel not shame.

The original post was very snarky and my questions were serious and yes I had a snarky tone in response. What’s your point? I don’t think you are a stranger to such a tactic whatsoever and I really hope you don’t suggest you are given your history. You still apparently refuse to demonstrate how the post was not mocking in tone and character.

“ You still apparently refuse to demonstrate how the post was not mocking in tone and character.”

Is that a grammatical error or are we talking at crossed purposes? Why (any how) could I demonstrate how YOUR post was NOT exactly what I said it was ?

          • Majella December 2, 2019 at 2:05 am #

Oh. I get it – you were referring to Atrax Morgue’s post as being snarky & mocking.

Well, SSL, I cannot agree. You will note Atrax stated it was a ‘first time post’, so s/he has not been infected with the local ‘snarkitis’ infection the rest of us have to resist (and often fail).

YOU however, were snarky & mocking in the extreme…and you know it. Quit whining.

You think Fox News is Alt-Right? Hopeless. Dobbs at glibly betrays his viewers by talking agreeably about mass immigration. He goes back and forth on it. I doubt he has any real convictions at all. Truth is known, but it is just another arrow in his quiver. Like Trump for the most part.

Don’t you just? But thanks for reminding me of your modus operandi

Some people on here have unfortunate agendas. And I don’t know what an ‘islamophile’ is in relation to me. As a religion it has infinitely less to recommend it than your own, which has thankfully calmed down a bit over the centuries. But you’ve had a few hundred extra years to calm down, so I don’t have to fear being reduced to cinders for my opinions. Yet.

Let me know when you’ve determined that the perp is a White Nationalist. I will be more than happy to apologize for jumping to conclusions. I do note your regard for faith, particularly the one of your own cultural foundation.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 5:14 pm #

The perp isn’t a white nationalist, SSL. At least not to my knowledge. It never occurred to me that it might be. Nobody but you made any reference to white nationalists.

I certainly didn’t criticise you for jumping to conclusions about who the perpetrator was, only about your nasty little erroneous remark about people on this website.

And it’s the faith of my own cultural foundation that used to burn people for not accepting it, sans evidence. I’m sorry you don’t like facts of that kind either.

          • GreenAlba November 29, 2019 at 5:16 pm #

And I would really like to leave it there. Enough is enough. I don’t even want an apology for your ‘getting ahead of yourself’ so presumptuously.

          • SoftStarLight November 30, 2019 at 3:07 am #

Whatever you say Alba. At this hour we do know the perp was one Usman Khan. So my original suspicions turned out to be correct. Not that it makes me happy. Actually it makes me sad because there is so much more of that to come in the years ahead thanks to the foolish multicultural policies and lax immigration enforcement characteristic of Western countries generally. It’s ironic the Islamic terrorist had the same last name as the mayor of London. I know its just coincidence and not in any way shape or form connected to the expansion of Muslim control over British society. I remember how you shut down an ongoing discussion we had regarding the burka several months ago in a similar way. You said I had become hysterical on that topic. I guess that’s what happened here too.

          • GreenAlba November 30, 2019 at 5:42 am #

SSL, sorry to disappoint you, but your suspicions were exactly the same as everyone else’s, including mine. Why do you talk such nonsense about ‘ooh I bet everyone wants it to be a white supremacist’? It’s not their MO.

” It’s ironic the Islamic terrorist had the same last name as the mayor of London.”

No it’s not. Dear God. It’s like him being English and being called Smith, only infinitely more likely.

“I know its just coincidence and not in any way shape or form connected to the expansion of Muslim control over British society.”

Wrong on both counts. How can you expand control you never had?

I’m travelling today, so witter away.

On a serious note the natural inclination is to consider suicide an act of cowardice I think. From the perspective of organized religion I mean. I am not trying to start something. From that perspective to reward cowardice with virgins makes no sense but a reward of trifling or insulting value makes a lot of sense. A perversion of meanings over times seems plausible to me.

Has anyone ever stopped to think that yes maybe you get 100 virgins but they have to stay virgins for all eternity. There is a twilight zone episode here! Virgins until time stops. That seems like no fun at all.

          • Janos Skorenzy November 29, 2019 at 5:23 pm #

Just as Viking Warriors kill and are killed in Valhalla only to resurrect, just so the virginity of the Virgins in Paradise reconstitutes itself each day, both in terms of the hymen and the general tautness of the lower organ.

And remember that a person’s basic personality is formed by age six. Right from wrong is learned long before entry into school. Contrary to a lot of folks, parents are responsible for the behavior of their children, not the education institution.

        Sidebar

The final maturation process including benevolence, empathy, executive functioning does not occur until the early twenties in most folks.

And does not occur ever in many people.

Which would explain a lot about our society. When kids are taught bigotry and hatred in college, it stains their personality.

“What if, with all our catharsis, we’re surrendering more of evil daily to the realm of fiction—confirming the (admittedly pleasant) notion that real, radical evil is mostly if not totally the stuff of the imagination? To do so would be dangerous indeed. It would be, as Charles Baudelaire might observe, the finest trick the devil ever played.”

Excellent link Walter! I clicked on it thinking I was going to be subjected to yet another long-winded, ill-considered treatise on the personification of evil in simplistic terms, and instead I got this:

Liberal democracies sow, in their own way, a kind of moral confusion. On the one hand, as political commentator Matthew Bruenig writes, “in ideal liberal theory, citizens themselves are the source of all governmental action.” Bruenig adds that “this is a unifying principle of what makes a liberal theory a liberal theory.”22 Thus, individuals living in liberal democracies have plenty of reasons to consider themselves accountable for the various damage wrought by their states: wars, conquests, inequalities, inhumanities, and so on. Yet at the same time, as Barthes intimates, these societies stress an individualist ethics that ultimately makes accomplishing much moral good impossible: You can consider yourself morally pure for buying free-trade coffee at a co-op, but such individual acts of rectitude never amount to a reduction in, say, drone warfare or child poverty. Something much larger is required for that, but liberal subjects are given few analytical tools with which to distinguish their place—and thus their moral agency—in collective actions or mass movements. To take moral issue with systems is, as Delbanco rightly points out, a bizarre proposition in liberal societies, where systems are imagined as morally neutral.

That’s good stuff, and strikes right at the heart of our current moral conundrum, especially two generations on (at least) into the 24/7 liberal mass media experiment. And please note, for those looking to immediately turn this into yet another back and forth harangue about liberals vs. conservatives, we ALL live in a “liberal” democracy in the sense the word is being used here. This isn’t that.

And since I haven’t chimed in Jim’s post yet, I’ll just add it’s another great one. I’m elated that Jim has found his political voice in full throat once again and rediscovered the inner investigative reporter of his youth. I see and appreciate that at least one commenter every week feels compelled to speak out stridently and question whether Jim has clearly lost his mind; which, to my clearly “lost” mind, indicates that he’s probably just found his as well. We oldsters know better than anyone else that minds are a terrible thing to misplace, since we’re losing ours through natural causes every day. Likewise, we also know the follies of youth, having not so long ago lived through them. Pray that the current generations live long enough to learn the same.

JHK believes in the American ideal, that individual ambition trumps government control. When his party deserted that ideal, he started looking for alternatives. From his blog, he is not a proponent of Trump or Trumpers. He is a journalistic enemy of the Progressive movement in the US and their desire for power creating a socialistic State. He respects the rule of law being a requirement of a stable population.

Hope I am not misrepresenting JHK, but that is what I get from him.

For my part, what I “get” from Jim is that he rejects lying and obsequiousness, especially in service of a larger malignant agenda, which might ideally be termed the “American Ideal.”

Personally, I’ve never – recently at least – believed In such chimeras, but that’s just me. The radical idea I believe that he just might be exploring here is that both political “parties” here in the US are inherently corrupt and “on the take,” which I consider to be a mere article of faith, and thus hardly worth considering at all, is one that I still hope that he will explore further.

As to the rest of your post, I think you’re still lost in the faux political morass the American media offers up. My advice? Disconnect and detox for at least two weeks, and then proceed from there. There’s help out there after that, but my advice is to just go it cold turkey from there until you come up for air. I think you’ve got away to go yet.

Negroes should never be used against White Men and any kind of scab is bad. Workingmen have rights in any sane society – even if it hurt his precious car company. As if the Car Cult has been a blessing to America.

That being said, I recommend the Henry Ford edition of
“The Protocols” – his commentary is superb. As he said, People may doubt the Protocols all they want, but they will continue to come true. And as Stalin said, Communism can never triumph in America as long as Henry Ford lives. And as Hitler said, Meanwhile in America, a Great Man works.

The Tree of Life has Three Pillars: The Pillar of Severity, the Pillar of Mercy, and the Middle Pillar of Balance. The Middle one is the safest one. The other two are fraught with the possibility of imbalance or evil. Our Culture has been destroyed by addiction to the Pillar of Mercy. And desperate attempts to balance out by the other extreme. We cannot seem to find the Mark or Middle Pillar. Alas Christianity lacks the Wisdom to put us right, obsessed as it is with the downtrodden of all races.

What? No love/hate for the Jews. Or is you one?

Always love to hear sacrilegious stupid Americans hating Muslims right on cue, as if it’s an original thought in any remote sense of the word. Perhaps your remote spur down there in Tucson needs to be closed off for good and opened up as a museum? Lots of radiation buried down that way I hear too. Perhaps that splains’ it?

      • tucsonspur November 30, 2019 at 1:12 am #

Clint Eastwood once said, as he went to the top step, “I just hate niggers.” But they respected him.

If I don’t hate Muslims I always suspect them, but I hate jihadis and would love to kill one. Let Mussolini love the Muslims while I steal the Sword of Islam (if only I could) and behead jihadis with the blade. Like Rodney, I get no respect. From Muslims.

Trouble is, people want to come here. Leavin’ the sewers for the sagebrush. We’ve tried holding them off with shotguns, old Winchesters, Colt Pythons, you name it. Too few against too many.

We have many museums. We could stuff you and put you in one, but the attendance would drop to zero. I mean, who wants to see a dead idiot?

I see my rowels are getting dull. Any more criticisms I can practice on?

Extremism. Because one side is evil, the opposite must be good. Americans cannot mind their own business and bring their imbalance and confusion onto the Global Stage.

But the mind blowing thing is how they have worked together again and again Western Civilization. In taking Spain, the Muslims would storm a City and then leave a Jewish Garrison there to hold and administer it. And the Jews helped with the financing of the whole thing – bigly.

So which side do we take? Neither. We take our OWN SIDE for a change.

Do any of you End of the World CFNers happen to know of any stores offering Black Friday discounts on gas masks to filter tear gas with plastic face masks that can stop rubber bullets? And helmets that can protect against those truncheons designed to not shatter the bone, but that turn the flesh into mush? You don’t want to get hit in the head with one of those.

Hartford was founded by Pilgrims from Essex County, England, via Boston, (in 1635) but the Pilgrims and their decendants are long gone and the current Hartfordites celebrate Thanksgiving in a whole new way. How’s that, you ask? Well, somebody torched an apartment complex, driving scores of families out onto the street. That was on Thanksgiving eve. That same night an esteemed citizen named ‘Jamal’ opened fire on a police cruiser patrolling the North End neighborhood, triggering a massive response, shutting down half the city. A machete duel broke out on a street in the South End … getting the picture CFNers? It’s a new way of celebrating the Great American Holiday, for a new age, and a new people.

Earlier in the week the mayor — a Rhodes Scholar — announced he was suing the Trump Administration over refugees and illegals — not because they were sending too many into this Sanctuary City, but because they are not sending enough. Apparently numbers are down, which is cause for alarm, and the basis for a lawsuit.

I’m guessing summary public executions are probably in order then. How should we do it? Not much on history or tradition myself, but I’ve always been partial to random door to door shit myself. It encourages creativity on the part of the participants and maximizes the potential for all around mischief and mayhem. Yeah, a few innocents are gonna get taken out in the process, but that’s always been a gamble I’ve been willing to take. What the fuck? Motherfuckers shouldn’t have been in the way in the first place! Am I right? Fucking bitches!

That’s the flip side lately, ain’t it? Routine crime now gets totally ignored. “Budget considerations” is the usual excuse, if you’re actually lucky enough to get an excuse at all. Abandoned cars (presumably stolen?) are on the rise here. Got one sitting out front as I speak. Cops are indifferent, in addition to incompetent, when they show up to take the report. Neighbors are too.

      A huge question.

With the build up of homeless everywhere, why the heck would a city want more illegals and refugees? Do they get a Federal stipend for each illegal they have? More people in an area always increases costs disproportionately, so why the heck would anyone in their right minds want more problems.

A couple of years ago, I was sitting in a Pete’s coffee shop (no relation to Pete Buttigieg) in affluent Menlo Park in California drinking a “Skinny Latte”, reading a book and playing with myself, when my peace and calm was abruptly disrupted when the management of Peet’s tried to throw out a black family that had not bought a coffee but was nonetheless occupying a table in the busy coffee shop. The black father had grabbed an empty paper coffee cup from the trash can and tried to pretend that he had bought a coffee. When the Pete’s blonde overweight female white manager tried to throw the black family out onto the street, the black bloke started shouting racism. The rest of the California customers just pretended not to see anything.

I don’t think the writer is being especially candid about the condition of our federal government, let alone state and local municipalities.

I find it absurd and frankly, insane, that anyone can be consumed by the routine antics of both parties as they along with the media put on the “show of shows” for the goyim to feed upon.

Perhaps few of you have been alerted to the recently REVISED federal financial accounting standards (FASAB 56 – http://files.fasab.gov/pdffiles/sffas_56_nr.pdf).

    This Statement permits:
    – an entity to modify information required by other standards if the effect of the
    modification does not change the net results of operations or net position;
    – a component reporting entity to be excluded from one reporting entity and consolidated into another reporting entity, and the effect of the modification may
change the net results of operations and/or net position; and
    – an entity may apply Interpretations of this Statement, that allow other modifications to information required by other standards, and the effect of the modifications may change the net results of operations and/or net position.

Not many Presidents would be willing to kill 600,000 Americans and a quarter of Southern males. Lincoln was a corporate railroad lawyer who had Marfan Syndrome and who gave all of the confiscated free land and black prisoner chain gang labor to the railroads. It’s an interesting thought, and as much as I might like Trump to do so, I wonder if he’s willing to be named the cause of a revolution with a potential for real violence.

Could he leverage the outcome of the Republican investigations, especially if something criminal surfaces, and make the case that he was undermined and harassed for 3+ years, considerably hurting his chance for re-election? Who knows.

So far, the impeachment inquiry is turning out to be all fizz and no gin, and a lot of people are going to pissed off if they don’t get their Beefeater. Trump is then in. No viable opposition yet, so Trump may again be in.

You know, if he did do it, maybe we really could become great again, no? However, the downside risk is ginormous.

  48. volodya November 30, 2019 at 10:48 am #

Majella, I finished watching One More Thing:

    Two main things:

    1) The Right is in very, very dire straights he sez. Yes it is, it has no leg to stand on, having exerted its energies in working against the interests of ordinary people and constructing international trade and investment schemes that have no hope in hell. Way past time for a re-think.

And yeah, the screamy ” I don’t care” stuff is a bit much and could have been said a whole lot better. I mean, even if you think that border kerfuffles between Russia and the Ukraine are not the business of the US, and pose no real threat to the overall international order and in no way portend a wider war, there’s other ways to express it.

As for the Republican Party as an organizational manifestation of the Right, it’s a dead man walking, or not walking, Republican voters now allowed to say out loud what they’ve been thinking for a long time, having been given legitimacy by the now current resident in the Oval office. And what they’ve done is to call bullshit on the Republican neo-liberal agenda of the last few generations.
Better still, time for a re-think of the Left-Right spectrum.

    2) But is Russia “our adversary”? Nope. There I disagree. There is no plausible way that Russia is an adversary to the USA. Russia has got its own interests, as does the US, as does any country, but I don’t see Russia’s interests conflicting with those of the US to the extent of being an enemy. Russia is no threat to the US.

But if Russia is an imperial threat to countries in Europe, well, the last I checked, people in countries like Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Germany are grown-ups and if they can’t find their man-pants and deal with shit on their own, that’s their problem. It’s not up to young  American men to get killed doing things for Europeans that young European men aren’t willing to do themselves. And I doubt that Russians will be demanding Alaska as lebensraum.

This is one more place where people on the – cough – “progressive” Left need to tap the brakes. The school-yard is a place where intemperate talk results in fights (we all have direct experience), and the world is one great, big school-yard but with guns.

And this “white-supremacy” accusation is a tetch over the top, a situation of pots calling kettles names.

As for Carlson, he made me laugh when he re-invented himself as a man of the people. Who’d a thought? So did Tom Rogan follow in Carlson’s footsteps? I haven’t read his stuff for a while. Does anyone know?

    • Majella November 30, 2019 at 3:55 pm #

Re: Russia as an adversary – I’m not so sure.

On the basis that Russia has always been concerned with invasion & influence from the West (going back centuries), and now it faces the modern phenomena of NATO creeping East and US economic sanctions squeezing what is a pretty small economy, then I think Putin et al have plenty of motivation to do whatever it can to disrupt & discredit the post-war Western Alliance. Their Brexit playbook was masterful.

      • BackRowHeckler November 30, 2019 at 4:53 pm #

I could never understand pushing NATO right up to Russia’s borders, which to me seemed the worst sort of provocation. I’d go as far as to say NATO should have been disbanded — or at least severely scaled back — after the Soviet Union dissolved in 1990. The whole purpose of NATO seemed moot after that date.

  49. volodya November 30, 2019 at 12:00 pm #

For now Islamic terrorists are killing people at random, usually just ordinary folk.

And we can see the response from officialdom –  thoughts and prayers, denunciations, promises to spare no effort, mass surveillance – you know the drill.

But what if for some reason the approach of the terrorists changes, targeting prominent people and shot-callers, like the rich elite and politicians.

How would the response to terror change if bankers and billionaires and their families or government officials or judges ended up dead instead of ordinary people?

Here’s some guesses: ban on Muslims immigration, round-ups, detentions, selective expulsions, mass deportations, a sudden un-fussiness about due process, a notable lack of squeamishness over body counts.

The justification by our betters? 1) Public safety 2) intolerable levels of violence. 3) Can’t separate the good apples from the bad.

What else? No apology, silence from the judiciary and the intelligentsia, some truths being self-evident, these actions understood as common sense measures requiring little elaboration, the niceties of human rights taking a back seat until order and safety is restored

How many of us would start thinking unworthy thoughts, that all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others?

Hypocrisy in flagrante IOW. But keep such musings to yourself, public utterances possibly being career limiting.

    • SoftStarLight November 30, 2019 at 1:08 pm #

Well to some degree don’t you imagine that imported terrorism is exactly what “the Betters” want? I mean after all, Western governments are intentionally bringing in millions of Third Worlders, including millions of Muslims, knowing that the flood of migrants will change every single aspect of our society in profound and irreversible ways. The Elite are spared from terrorism for the most part because their existences are sheltered in protected enclaves and they don’t interact with common people or places. These are simply fruits of the Great Replacement and its going to get much much much worse. The Elite have far off and far flung sanctuaries if they need to escape. Most important for them right now is the destruction of all opposition, i.e., White non-Elites for the moment.

Her Characters aren’t very developed, but they do portray certain strengths and flaws in an illuminating way. Thus she’s not all, but mostly. A strong medicine only for the few, poison for the rest.

Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath

I’ll tell you sometimes people I don’t know what’s worse
Natural disasters or these wolves in sheep clothes pastors
Now damn it I’m scared to send my children to church

And how can we seek salvation when our nations race relations
Got me feeling guilty of being white

But faith in human nature, our creator and our savior, I’m no saint

“What precisely would you “like Trump” to do?

    Suspend the Constitution?” Maj

I see J responded above and was brilliantly brief. I can only agree.

There’s a lot of stuff out there on this theme, and I just picked this one at random as an example:

    https://bullshit.ist/under-trump-key-portions-of-the-constitution-will-definitely-be-suspended-491777dc7b7c

How sacrosanct is this document to the American public? I think it’s something like about 20% of people think that owning a pet is a right under the first amendment. A good media campaign could probably convince most people that it’s a great idea, but Trump would obviously have difficulty there.

This soft coup attempt by the Left is treason in my mind, but so far it’s been treason within the law and not a Constitutional violation. So here, the document fails us.

      • tucsonspur December 1, 2019 at 4:20 am #

Nationwide mayhem. Riots, demonstrations, Republicans being attacked, a rise in arson and shooting crimes.

Nationwide Angst. Angst with a capital A.

Nationwide Hate and Polarization melting the Ice caps.

Nationwide slow down in travel and outdoor activity until things settle down.

Outside of that I really can’t say. Would he have enough military and police to protect him and to quell the violence? Would he have organized something like, ‘Operation Orange Crush’? Would he have made a strong enough case to the American people regarding the treasonous coup against him?

IOW, too many variables, ramifications, and possible unintended consequences to consider.

I guess the simple answer would be CHAOS.

Newsweek Reporter Fired After Peddling Fake News That Trump Golfed on Thanksgiving

Serious fake news. She is a turkey and was fired as she should be. I don’t even make things up here. I merely indulge in a bit of hyperbole here and there.

    • K-Dog November 30, 2019 at 7:29 pm #

A Los Angeles native, Jessica Kwong grew up speaking Spanish, Cantonese and English, in that order. Her journalism career started at the San Francisco Chronicle and she has also been a staff writer at the San Antonio Express-News, La Opinión, Time Warner Cable Sports, San Francisco Examiner, and the Orange County Register. Kwong earned her bachelor’s degree in Comparative Literature in Spanish and English and Mass Communications from the University of California, Berkeley.

Kind of young to have been a staff writer in 6 places I think. I’m sure she will figure something out. Writing fantasy fiction might pay better anyway. I don’t know. We have an expert on these things JHK. Perhaps he might have an opinion on this.

Mar-a-Lago to Kabul is 7674.68 miles.

Air Force One Petal to the metal is only going to do 600 miles an hour. Hopping from one place to another for pumpkin pie on the same day is not going to happen.

The story was written before Thanksgiving. Reporting the news before it happened and figuring odds as well as Jessica Kwong does, had she been into gambling Trumps Atlantic city casino might not have gone out of business.

So in all fairness, pay me her wage and I will cover the news and I’ll write just as many words in a week. Maybe in time I will even get good at it.

    How to make sound policy decisions in the modern USA;

    https://youtu.be/v1d7UvKWh6M

    • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 11:02 am #

Yes, Barack Hussein Obama never had this problem. Every media outlet worshipped and adored him and you could lose your livelihood for criticizing him. Remember that Missouri State Fair rodeo clown he had destroyed? I’m pretty sure CNN was the assist on that one. Trump on the other hand has fewer allies in the media clearly. I just want to know when the Wall is going to be finished. But how do you make sound policy decisions for the US pray tell?

      • JohnAZ December 1, 2019 at 12:33 pm #

He is using every monetary mechanism he can come up with to construct the wall in the places where it is needed most, being guided by local elements for info on where it is needed first. He is being contested by the Left in every way they can, courts, state laws, sanctuary laws, every way they can. Where the wall has been built, there is a marked reduction in border crossing, exactly as predicted.

I wonder where the Dems are going to get their voters from when the wall continues to be constructed.

        • Majella December 2, 2019 at 12:38 am #

‘Monetary mechanism’ just a form of legal ‘nicety’ for subverting funds allocated for another purpose. A fiction, a ‘fraud’ though perhaps not prosecutable. It should be.

          • Majella December 2, 2019 at 12:45 am #

I have. In 1989, playing Cowboy Junkies and Ghe Doobie Brothers on a pretty crappy cassette system in a 1976 Volvo 245 (stick shift). Got lost in Texas, more than once.

We drove from Philadelphia to SF through the East & south, then back to PA through the northern states. Even in 1989, the Interstate was like a monoculture.

We stayed in Slidell (at a KOA) for a few nights and explored NO, then west into the real Bayou country (so vividly evoked by one of my favourite authors, James Lee Burke).

    Just a Sunday morning observation.

Michael Bloomberg decides to run and immediately showers TV with ads financed by his billions. Sound familiar? Think 2015-2016.

Kamala Harris immediately becomes irrelevant, also Corey Booker.

Why? The NYT backs Bloomberg for one.

So-o-o, it looks like we have a rich White guy running against a Rich White guy in 2020. Janos and SSL, I do not think there is much to worry about.

    • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 11:38 am #

John there is always something to worry about. We still don’t have the Wall and immigration is out of control. If Trump remains in office I’m not seeing those situations changing. He clearly was never quite committed to the things he said about the Wall and immigration. I was scared a long time ago he was lying but I had to support him because he said it and no one else did. Now its clear Trump is committed to multiculturalism and diversity. He is a Nationalist when it comes to money and trade though. Bloomberg is a Globalist and a Progressive on everything from everything I can tell. Neither are good for White America IMHO.

      • JohnAZ December 1, 2019 at 12:26 pm #

Thinking about your post. Your declaration that Trump is a multiculturalist is partly correct, IMHO. In spite of the Liberal declaration that is is a racist, I think he is colorblind. I do think he wants a common culture America to conduct the Nationalist agenda against, and that means Caucasian and European based. But I agree with you that he is not concerned about the Browning of America, as long as the Browns become American and adapt to the common culture. Is this possible, I am not sure as the Liberal thought patterns want the country to fracture into all these ethnic groups. That is what infuriates me about the Libs, they want this country to fail as they are owned by the internationalists.

My point though was that after debates, money spent, lots of rhetoric the Dems with their BS about PC can be overruled by a White man, just like they were by a White woman in 2016. I find this very humorous.

        • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 1:45 pm #

Yes, Trump works against himself oftentimes unfortunately and therefore is not helping us. You will never keep America with Browns, Blacks, Yellows, Reds, etc. You see John. You say as much here. Listen to your Heart. On this issue I sense your Mind is playing tricks on you. I don’t think the country fracturing into different ethnic groups is just a Lib thing and you know it too. Business people who lean conservative politically support the Brown Flood. Cheap labor, more customers, money, money, money. Yes, Libs have been exploiting this issue and encouraging degeneration because their power grows with it. The fracturing though is a natural response to diversity. Globally speaking, diversity is amazing and wonderful. Nationally speaking, diversity is a death sentence.

  64. JohnAZ December 1, 2019 at 12:59 pm #

What would we consider a successful USA to be?

A White enclave run by Whites for Whites and drive out the Browns? My first question is what is a White? Or a Brown? Definitions please. Please give me a red line. This was a problem for Hitler in Europe as he had Judaism in his ancestry and hid it. The stately, blond aryan class was a joke, exemplified by Hitler’s appearance himself.

Is success a Black nation, run by Blacks? I will be nice and just say I want no resemblance to Africa and its problems here?

How about little Mexico, where we will be run by cartels and gangs instead of the law?

How about splitting the USA into the UWSA, and UBSA and UMSA? This may happen anyway. The Internationalists would love it, as well as Liberal elements here. But the US would cease to make any difference in the word, the three groups would just Balkanize and start fighting between themselves. Plus we would need many more miles of walls then.

Or e pluribus unum? How can we ever work together as a common culture? We have domestic elements and definitely internationalist elements working hard trying to destroy this ideal. Will good will be able to replace ethnocentrism as the motivating factor in this country?

The success of the republic depends on these items, and I, for one, hope we figure it out.

    • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 1:29 pm #

Yes, identity is first. How can we be if we don’t know who we are? You instinctively understand that without this the Republic doesn’t mean anything. Our forefathers said this was a White country. We disobeyed and didn’t listen and now we’re stuck. If we had remained a White country we wouldn’t have to go through this pain. Before we can really move forward though I think you have to fully explain why Ethnocentrism is in and of itself evil. The instinct to preserve the tribe is basic primal nature that is imbedded in our brains and DNA. Why is prefering ones’ own tribe an evil thing? You don’t believe we all have the same capabilities, talents, worldviews, and dreams do you? Of course not. Races of people are the same too? All races have their intrinsic value, but they aren’t the same. Failure to acknowledge and deal with human nature causes pain and there is already enough of that in world.

      • JohnAZ December 1, 2019 at 1:55 pm #

Ethnocentrism is evil in the eyes of the American common culture. Everyone is different, groups are different, if a system cannot accomodate it’s enclosed ethnic differences, it is doomed. Don’t you hope that humanity is able to succeed with accommodation?

And no, I do not believe that different groups are the same. Certain stereotypes exist because of environmental adaptation from millennia ago. Denial of the differences is dumb. Any society must use the differences advantageously to succeed, we have not figured that out yet. If it is possible?

Your mentioned pain is real and is currently being aggravated in this country. How to deal with this human nature is what is being attempted to be worked out in the US, and so far, not well.

        • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 6:41 pm #

Well I know. You conclude the conventional American experiment isn’t working, and I sincerely and completely agree with you that it is not, precisely because there is no good way to accomodate competing ethnic groups beneath the umbrella of a single nation state. It has not worked in history. If I am wrong please tell me. But for some reason you don’t want to accept this reality. Now that there is so much water under the bridge in terms of America’s descent into multiculturalism there is no political solution. Eventually the competition will be in the streets. I have mentioned before that a better path potentially would be to start breakup negotiations peacefully. Humans however seem to prefer inertia in many respects so it probably will never happen until again, the competition is in the streets.

          • JohnAZ December 1, 2019 at 7:14 pm #

As of now, you are not wrong. I would prefer the assimilation route, more amenable, more humane, not human, humane, but I actually agree with you that human nature may make what I wish the American experience could become impossible.

I , for one, have shifted into an observation mode, watching the interface between the idiots in the Deep State destroyIng everything I believe in, all the good things about the country I was raised in. Common sense has deserted DC, and we the people are starting to feel the lack of governance that all third world countries suffer with.

I will still always think that the success of the Resistance at blocking Trump’s attempt to build a wall across most of the southern border will be looked at by history as the beginning of the end of American exceptionalism and probably our unity. I think we agree on that. The US is about to be overrun and split into pieces. I hope all the Democratic leaders that are being the vanguard of the splitup get to move to upstate Alaska for their share. They deserve it.

Well, another big ‘Climate Change’ conference coming up, next week in fact. It’s in Madrid. Apparently they didn’t sufficiently hash things out at the International Climate Change Conference in Vienna in July, or in NYC in September. They needed another conference. Nancy Pelosi is going and bringing 14 Congressional colleagues with her. John Kerry has started up a new Climate Change organization consisting of the wealthiest people in N America and Europe. In short, elitists. Stated goal: save humanity. Unstated goal: f#kk over Americans by driving up fuel prices, making heating their homes and driving their cars unaffordable.

All the usual suspects will be in attendance, Soros, DeCapprio, Bloomberg, Gore, Kerry etc, flying in on private jets. There will be unnamed, shadowy characters there too, out of public view, hashing out the real agenda. Don’t worry CFNers, these loyal Citizens are looking out for your interests. You are well represented.

      Yeah right!

By the way, where are the contra climate change folks to present their case to the world? There aren’t any? Surprise! Another Liberal debacle. Mueller, Ukraine, AGW, great examples of what a bunch of dolts the Left has become.

What’s interesting is 15 top Dems and their staff will be in Madrid saving the planet when Barr’s FISA investigation report is released on Dec 9.

There’s some nice luxury hotels in Madrid, excellent restaurants, unparalleled shopping opportunities and a lively nightlife. I’m surmising a good time will be had by all. And why not? Why the hell not? Saving the planet is hard work. These people deserve a little R&R — courtesy of US taxpayers — as a small reward for the important work they are doing. Would you deny them that?

I wonder if we’ll get a detailed audit of their carbon footprints throughout the course of the conference or meeting or whatever? It’s rich that the trendy jetsetters are demanding sacrifices from families who hope they can stay warm throughout the winter. Given the existence of Skype and such you would think people who think CO2 is a pollutant would never meet in person but what would I know about any of that not being a jetsetter and all.

Prepare for ‘World War 0’, SSL.

That’s what John Kerry is calling his campaign against ‘Climate Change’, that he will be leading with his army of assembled business leaders, high ranking military officers, movie stars, politicians and various celebrities and millionaires across North America.

Something tells me in this war against ‘Climate Change’ it is us ‘Little People’ who will be required to make sacrifices, pay the carbon taxes, suffer the brownouts and blackouts that will come with windmill generated electricity, make driving our cars unaffordable. Kerry himself will continue living large on Martha’s Vineyard no matter what, seaside mansion lit up like a Christmas tree, 4 or 5 SUVs parked in the expansive driveway.

Remember, World War 0. You’ll be hearing that a lot in the future.

        • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 11:29 pm #

Thanks for the heads up Brh. I looked them up. Lots of war verbiage and references but all assurances are that they are peaceful and non-violent. Definitely a Globalist movement though. Their goals sound noble. Who doesn’t want to see an end to global hunger? But at the same time it isn’t explained in real terms how to get there or who must do what, so yes, it is suspicious.

There’s something pretty hilarious about the fact that we enjoy the benefits of science in our everyday life, from air conditioning to the internal combustion engine, to atomic energy, and even the internet, yet when 97% of the scientists say there’s such a thing as climate change, people get on the internet (remember the scientists invented all this stuff?) and tell them they’re full of shit.

    • capt spaulding December 1, 2019 at 2:22 pm #

Hey, maybe you landed a man on the moon, but you still got your head up your ass, dude.

      • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 6:19 pm #

There’s no reason to get upset with anyone Captain is there? Science can and has clearly been used for good as you have noted in your posts. Science has also been been used for harmful things such as the creation of nuclear and chemical weapons and AI. Science is not about consensus according to the scientists themselves. And anyway, science doesn’t have all the answers and doubtfully can get at all of the mysteries of life, the world, and the universe.

        • capt spaulding December 1, 2019 at 8:30 pm #

I’m not upset, SSL, I just don’t understand how everyday we are prepared to risk our lives based on the inventions brought about by science, and yet when it comes to something like climate change, when the vast majority of those scientists attest to it’s existence, some people deny it’s existence based on a tiny (3%) group of scientists who have been proven to be in the employ of the polluters. It’s not not like they don’t have a vested interest in denying the science. But hey, just keep right ignoring it.

          • SoftStarLight December 1, 2019 at 11:41 pm #

Well I never said I didn’t believe that humans can have an impact on the climate. But Captain, it has already been said that even if we pulled the plug tomorrow on industrial civilization that the impact on global temperatures would be very minimal. Not to mention that changes in the solar cycles and cyclical changes in Earth’s orbit have greater impact on the climate system than human civilization. I won’t argue with you that we should reduce our consumption of fossil fuels. But we should be reasonable too.

It clearly warming up in Antarctica, as summer is coming. But in the Arctic its getting colder.

Also, arctic conditions in NW Europe right now.

Majella, great point about Russia’s worries about invasion given Napoleon and Germany, and about the US and NATO encroaching on Russia.

What, after all, was the point? The original idea of NATO was to keep the Germans down and keep the Russians out. And down and out is what they are. We haven’t heard a peep from Germany since 1945, Russia’s been a shambles since the USSR imploded and for a long time before. In any case, US forces have no business in Europe, NATO has no business on Russia’s borders.

What this shows is that you can make a country half-way around the globe into an enemy if you go out of your way, which Americans did, and exert a lot of time and effort into pissing them off. There was no need for any of this. I can see countries being at loggerheads, but the US and Russia? I have trouble understanding the need for this animosity. Seems to me there’s more than enough geography between the two as a buffer.

As far as Brexit goes, even if the Russkis got up to some hanky-panky I would be cautious about attributing too much influence. The way I see it, the UK has enough bonfires that could explain the vote count. Same with the US in 2016.

In both cases the results were deemed unacceptable, and even more unacceptable was the implication that the powers-that-be screwed up mightily. And so they blame the Russians. They should quit making excuses.

      Volodya

Tulsi Gabbard’s call for the end of endless war is humanist & compassionate. Ron Paul’s call is (was) pragmatic, constitutional & fiscal. They are both right.

Projection of Power is an ’empire’ thing. In this most modern case (the USA) it started as a ‘good’ – defeating Janos’ buddies; assisting in the reconstruction of Europe (& Japan); holding the Soviet war machine at bay.

However, since1991, this need has diminished for sure. We were (ever so briefly) offered a ‘Peace Dividend’ by Pappy Bush. All this new surplus could be redirected to things that would BENEFIT the tax payer more directly – infrastructure, schools and so on. Yeah, right.

There’s a CFNer hereabouts (whose name I cannot recall just now) who has talked about the prosperity his small city in the South (either northern Alabama or southern Tennessee, perhaps?) enjoys due to the military spending in industry there. his is high-tech warfare stuff and very capital intensive. The local politicians (State & Federal House Reps & Senators), I’m confident, know the lobbyists that represent these businesses on a very personal level, and will do their darndest that this is NOT taken away. Peace Dividend? Phooey!

We’ve seen this century the morphing from the “World’s Policeman” to the best-equipped terror-delivering organization in history. Wars of speculative & financial interest (dressed up is the patriotic flag, of course) have continued to suck billions of tax dollars for the benefit of a small cohort of business owners & shareholders.

The externalities are also borne by the taxpayer. Aside from the almost 7,000 US soldiers killed, there’s been a further $54,000 maimed – either physically or mentally (or both in many cases) torn apart and unable to live an ordinary life. Tragically, some of these broken people feel moved to express their frustration through an AR15. What to do about it is a true quandry and I haven’t the first clue.

As to the Russians influencing Brexit – there’s still an accusation that oligarchs funded the UKIP party which ultimately broke through and won that referendum. You’re right, there are plenty of other influences too – the British Tabloid media being a huge player – but in the end, I think you’d agree that Putin probably doesn’t mind the outcome as it splits Europe.

He still has expansionist intentions on Eastern Europe, and a united & well-armed Western Alliance is probably the largest single obstacle to that. This can’t hurt, along with Himself’s ability to and apparent desire to distance himself from Th EU & NATO.

I’ve been watching the NY Jets against the Cincinnati Bengals. I’ve had the sound muted the whole game because if I hear one of the commentators pronounce Bengals as Bingals I’ll scream.

    • BackRowHeckler December 1, 2019 at 4:18 pm #

Maybe he’s making fun of them because they’re so bad …

But not bad enough to be losing to the Jets.

    • Q. Shtik December 1, 2019 at 4:45 pm #

      Further about this game:

The Jets record so far this season is 4W – 7L. The Bengals 0W – 11L. Can you believe a pro team being 0 and 11? So here we are with under 2 mins to go and the Bengals are up 22-6.

Oh yeah, and the giants just got their ass kicked by Green Bay and yesterday Rutgers got crushed by Penn State.

These scores are spoiling my weekend.

Here’s a guy. An American. A patriot, and a (small r) republican. His Capital R was lost when Himself got elected and then started shamming the USA on a daily basis.

He resonates with me, and – whether they’ll admit it or not – many of the rightish CFNers hereabouts:

    https://youtu.be/p84Ciqa7i_E

    • tucsonspur December 2, 2019 at 1:45 am #

His delivery isn’t bad, but he’s all too boring and unoriginal. I’ll take Mark Steyn any time.

      • Majella December 2, 2019 at 2:23 am #

Mark Steyn – back in the day, when I was in the conspiracy rabbit warren, I read & watched a lot of this guy. Yes, he’s intelligent and eloquent but he comes from a perspective I can no longer go along with – populism is at the heart of his schtick. He plays it well, but it’s still performance for an audience he can read, and play like a. Fiddle – such as T Carlson.

        • tucsonspur December 2, 2019 at 5:11 am #

I can go with populism. It’s general definition is often given as being more for the ‘people’ and against the controlling elites. There are variations between Left and Right wing populism, the Left going more in the direction of social justice and less in the direction of big business and Capitalism.

Of course your guy plays to the ‘swat the Great Gadfly of Gotham’ crowd. Can’t miss with that popular theme, but if you’re going to conduct the TDS orchestra, I suggest knowing more than the tired old loony tunes.

Either way, neither the Right nor the Left are fruitfully engaged in helping the ‘people’ as they should be helped, short term or long term.

So, whatever populism or performance you’re dealing with, it’s not a bad thing to make people laugh. And Steyn makes me laugh.

      • Majella December 2, 2019 at 2:25 am #

What’s more, Steyn is a Trump booster, whereas Dollemore is a(r) republican and addresses Himself’s ‘feet of clay’.

    From the article:

“U.S. President Donald Trump said in a radio interview last week that he plans to designate Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations, though he declined to say what actions might follow that designation.

Mexican officials have opposed such a designation, worried it could lead to unilateral U.S. interventions in its territory.”

    “Declined to say what actions…..”

Lies about the wall. Lies and Lies. Greasy French fry lies, harder and harder to swallow. ‘We’ll see, Let’s see what happens’, bellows the bloated Bashibazouk. A hoax on a hoax. Battling hoaxes, battling lies, who should we more despise?
