WASHINGTON — House Democrats, frustrated by President Trump’s efforts to stonewall their investigations and eager to stoke public anger about the president’s behavior, are pinning their diminishing hopes on Robert S. Mueller III yet again…. Mr. Mueller, who was invited to testify by the chairmen of the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees a month ago, has not agreed to do so.  — The New York Times

Oh? Is that so? Do you wonder why Mr. Mueller might not want to open his aching heart to any House committee in the desperate, last-ditch effort to wring some impeachment joy juice from the already wrung-out narrative of his disappointing report? For the excellent reason that the minority Republican members of said committees get to ask questions too, and they are sure to be embarrassing questions, perhaps placing the Special Counsel in legal jeopardy.

For instance: why did Mr. Mueller not reveal publicly that his team, and the FBI, both knew from the very start that the predicating “corpus of evidence” for the two-year inquisition was cheap fiction written by Glenn Simpson and his hirelings at Fusion GPS, the Hillary Clinton campaign’s disinformation contractor — including “Russia specialist” Nellie Ohr, wife of the then Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr? I could go on, but the above fact-nugget alone is enough to inform any sentient adult that the Mueller Investigation was an entirely political act of seditious subterfuge, and there are many other actionable nuggets of blatant mendacity in the 444-page report to inspire the convening of grand juries against a great many officials in orbit around Mr. Mueller. So, don’t expect Mr. Mueller to show up in any congressional witness chair, though he may occupy one in a courtroom around the time that the next major election is in full swing.

Here’s what will actually happen. These House majority committee chiefs are going to quit their blustering over the next week or so as they discover there is no political value — and plenty of political hazard — in extending the RussiaGate circus. In the meantime, a titanic juridical machine, already a’grinding, will discredit the whole sordid affair and send a number of hapless participants to the federal ping-pong academies. And by then, the long-suffering citizenry will barely give a shit because we will have entered the climactic phase of the Fourth Turning (or Long Emergency, take your pick), in which the operations of everyday business and governance in this country seriously crumble.

The Golden Golem of Greatness will be blamed for most of that. The internal contradictions of Globalism were already blowing up trade and financial relations between the US and China. The Trump tariffs just amount to a clumsy recognition of the fatal imbalances long at work there. As a 25 percent tax on countless Chinese products, the tariffs will punish American shoppers as much as the Chinese manufacturers. Trade wars have a way of escalating into more kinetic conflicts.

The sad truth is that both China and the US are beset by dangerous fragilities. Both countries have borrowed themselves into a Twilight Zone of unpayable debt. Both countries are sunk in untenable economic and banking rackets to cover up their insolvency. China’s fate hangs on distant energy supply lines that run through bottlenecks like the Straits of Hormuz and the Straits of Molucca. The US has been producing torrents of shale oil at a net financial loss — a business model with poor long-term prospects. The temperament of the Chinese people is conditioned historically by subservience to authority, which tends to blow into anarchic rage quickly and catastrophically when things go wrong. The US populace, sunk in decadence, despair, distraction, and delusion, moves sluggishly toward unrest — and for the time being expresses its discontent only in ceremonial narcissistic grievance.

The quarrel between the US and China now threatens to suck the rest of the world into a global business depression, which is what you might expect when globalism seizes up and the global players start scrambling desperately to keep any kind of economy going. The danger then will be that the disgruntled populations of these many lands could become as delusional as Americans, and equally inclined to international violence. There could be all kinds of fighting in all sorts of places while everybody goes broke and hungry. And meanwhile, Robert Mueller meets his protégé Jim Comey for the ping-pong championship of Allenwood federal penitentiary.

    Sadly in the end this will be a foot note in history no one but patsies will get in trouble for the charade that has played out for over two years.
    With that said I will enjoy watching certain Democrats that pushed this false narrative sweat bullets wondering of the grand jury will get convened for a spin up on a trial for them.

    As far as China goes that problem pales in comparison to yet another Gulf war one we engage Iran in.

    Such an engagement would make the Sunni nations in the region very happy indeed.

          A grand solar minimum looks more and more possible as I watch the weather. How long and protracted, I am not sure, though we are due for a dandy. I am just glad that I really like kohls, oats and peas and have enough seed for years, I’m gonna need it. ( I save my own seed every year so my seed is fresh etc.).

        He maintains the AGW crowd is correct that we have already entered a mass extinction, climatic disaster. They just never noticed that the actions by world governments to geo-engineer the planet and control the weather are the main reason for this disaster.

        All the carbon taxes, carbon credits, cap & trade bullshit is too little, too late to make a difference. Various factors such as insect die-offs, solar radiation, weather and earth upheavals, etc will demolish the current system of feeding the world. The focus should now be on how to save a remnant of humanity from this mass die-off.

        Hopefully, he’s overstated his case. But the guy is totally science focused. He’s not reading passages out of the Bible to prove anything.

      I still don’t think the day is here yet. Closer but not yet.

      Big T who will be eventually (in his second term) be of billion dollar federal reserve note fame, is a deal maker.

      He will trade I for V even up with the Rooskies and the Marines will March in the streets with the un-elected what’s his name and declare another democracy.

      The China deal will get done and although be mostly symbolic Dow 30K.

      Add in a rate cut, a little QEish, hell UBI for all. Print Print Print Baby!

      T will trade O’s and “cee u next tuesday’s” heads for a second term with barely a squeal from the Democrats. Even the media with STFU.

      So 2021 could be the next milestone for the start of the next and he77 who knows last collapse.

      But in the end your guess is as good as mine…

      …but the trend and final destination is not in doubt. Just the when and precisely how.

            I was suggesting that for there to be justice we might require a proceeding apart from the current judicial system. I am not calling for a “Peoples Court”, nor a fully politized judiciary, but the current system, in my opinion, is the best money can buy….

    I had a thought about tariffs last night.
    The very first thing Obama did was sign a law putting a tariff on Chinese produced tires and magically all tires went up in price and I do mean all.
    I had to buy a pair BFGoodrich tires for my f150 and over night it went up $50.00 for the pair. Even at the might Costco I might add.

      Exactly benr, consumers pay for tariffs.

      Are there even tires still manufactured in the USA? I would bet it’s all out sourced to places like Mexico. Hence tire tariffs would not create a single more job in America.

      It’s much the same story with a lot of those imports – we don’t even make that stuff anymore. So maybe the strategy here is to force China to buy more American products – whether they want them or not.

          Of all my daughters friends in there twenties most of them don’t work, have a boyfriend or girlfriend and still live with mom and dad. It’s just a series of drunken parties and zero ambition.

            He is disabled [or so he claims] so he has a private parking spot.

        Japan isn’t exactly the economic marvel it once was. (As in a stock market still down from its 1989 level, despite the Bank of Japan buying stocks, and near zero economic growth for decades) Partly due to tariffs, they also have the highest prices for just about everything.

        Japan is the role model to hell. And so, of course, we’re following them.

      If we can’t make the tires here, why not pay more for having them made in China or wherever. But, maybe the answer is to buy fewer tires; heck, even fewer cars. Why does every 16 year old need personal transportation? Happy motoring indeed.

          Thanks for that link, EH. One of the sites where I blog is a community devoted to obituaries of celebrities and cancellations of shows. I will be sharing this article there.

          As for the main topic of our host’s post, I wrote twice about trade this week, first MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ and CNBC’s ‘Fast Money’ expounding on the U.S.-China trade war and its fallout and then John Oliver explaining trade. No surprise, my readers prefer John Oliver. Best to take the bad news with a spoonful of humor, I suppose, which fits with your observation that Grumpy Cat’s passing was the top news story.

    It will be revealing indeed if Mueller ever does sit before a congressional committee. Jim is probably right that hell will freeze over before this happens. In the meantime, someone wake me when there is an actual indictment of a deep-stater.

    I’ve become convinced that the Twin Necessary Evils of shale oil/ tar sands extraction and unpayable debt-money bingeing have so much momentum behind them now, that only the advent of some sort of Black Swan Event will kick a major deflationary decompression into gear. The trade-war with China very well could be such an event. A kinetic war with Iran would very definitely be such an event.

        Tariffs could help spur domestic production. Put those masses to work, again. Make America…(dare I say it – nah though it is applicable) produce more of its own goods and thus move in the right direction out of this quandary that we’re in (trade deficit, debt, hopelessness, lack of direction, poverty, national debt, state debt, personal debt, impossibly unsustainable supply chains, blah blah blah, etc)!

          For all of the money that has been spent on Holocaust museums and memorials in the past three decades, there doesn’t seem to be a big concern among Jewish leaders over the Trump tariffs and where they may lead to. As the old saying goes, those who don’t learn from history are doomed to relive it. Never again has become an empty slogan.

    I was wondering about Liz Warren’s plan to forgive student loan debt; all well and good, but what about loans going forward? Will they be forgiven too, as they are being made? Just a free bundle of swag from Uncle Sucker to prospective ‘Scholars’ off to NYU to major in ‘Gender Studies’, Queer Studies’, and attend ‘Destroying Whiteness’ seminars. That’ good for about 60 Gs a year, just go to your local Dem Party HQ and pick up your check.

Everybody is going to blame everybody else. Timely downloads will be in serious jeopardy and daily commutes will suffer. Impeachment joy juice won’t matter when everyone runs out of jam. The background music of climate emergency and global heating will help crumble existing arrangements already to crumbling on their own.

    Interesting times ahead in a real world Twilight Zone. But 401K contribution this month will benefit on a bounce from the planned shenanigans of Donald Trump..

Trump has managed to turn over a corpse and expose the mass of maggots eating the carcass. It used to be we only smelled the rot but now we actually see the consumption by fly larvae.     I may be mistaken in this impression, but …

    It seems to me that the degree of coverage of international events by American media has dropped dramatically since the 2016 elections.

    Almost like they had their priorities changed … by whoever.

    Sad thing is, there was not a lot of in-depth journalism regarding international events prior to Trump’s election. Somehow, though, the situation has gotten worse: the coverage today is abysmal.

      I agree. I think you have to go to foreign media. You can get over the air broadcasts from NHK English language news service from some PBS stations. Given that NHK is based in Japan you get what’s going on way over yonder. It’s 15 minutes of news and then 15 minutes of “in-depth.” They used to have an English language news service from the German broadcaster DW.

        Many foreign outlets are corrupted as well. Here in Germany the big names (DW, Süddeusche, Zeit, Spiegel, etc) publish the same talking points as American media; the only difference is the dry delivery.

        There was a guy here who used to work for FAZ and wrote a book on being paid to lie for a living. Spiegel had a major scandal a few months ago (the Relotius scandal) where a top reporter who had received multiple awards for quality journalism was caught lying repeatedly about Trumpi. They fired him, but it hardly matters as the entire rag is a dumpster fire.

        Even considering the language difficulty I found Deutsche Welle to be of astonishing quality, compared to anyone else’s broadcasts.

        Problem was that it was only available with a parabola and I didn’t have one.

        Aljazeera has done some pretty amazing stuff too, such as that expose of Boeing’s strike-breaking and moving 787 production to East Jesus, Mississippi… unqualified warm bodies hired off the street… sloppy construction covered up – inspectors don’t care.,.. illegal drugs freely available on the factory floor.

        Surprised they haven’t started falling apart in the sky by now.

        Can’t see ANY American network doing that kind of in-depth exposé on the ‘Lazy B’, even after the 737 Max 800 clusterfuck.

      Sometime during the 1980s I think it was, maybe the 1990s, national news suffered a sea change. Suddenly there were all these stories which would have previously been exclusively on the local news. Crime blotter stuff basically. The question is why?

      It occurred about the same time I saw a commercial touting one of the major bank credit cards that I thought was equally odd, tag line: ‘It’s all about you.’ (zoom in on a man staring off into the middle distance while filling his gas tank.)

      Almost no one noticed how dire the situation has become because most analysts reason in terms of barrels of crude or in financial terms. GDP growth data aggregates the growth of the oil industry world (oil industry plus everything and everyone that are necessary for the oil industry to operate) with that of the non-oil world. This aggregation masks what is actually taking place. To keep operating the oil world progressively starves the non-oil world of the net energy that is vital for its continued existence.

They have nothing else and is it not their tiny mindset that if they bitch and moan long enough and at loud enough volume levels that the other, weaker side will finally cave just to shut them the fuck up? I am seeing this approach at all levels around me, both politically and socially as the spoiled brats and babies of our society continue to ignore facts and figures, and conjure up their own demented form of reality out of self serving lies.

    The financial morass we are all in is the perfect example. They absolutely have to raise interest rates in order to make any correction in the system at all, and yet they cannot raise them or they will collapse the entire mess. So they do nothing. They continue down the long road of do nothing which inevitably will lead us all to a sheer cliff of doom, or if we are lucky allow us all to move in ever decreasing spirals until we eventually fly up our own bung holes. Some choice, eh?

    America’s reach won’t extend to all of America never mind far-flung overseas dependencies like Japan and Korea and the Philippines. Or Germany or Poland. No matter, all of these places can take care of themselves or, at any rate, will have to.

    Message to Berlin, time to clean out the historical attic and find the man-pants. They’re stored away up there somewhere. And if the people of Poland don’t want to answer once again to a foreign potentate, whether Russian or otherwise, they’ll have to do the same.

    I don’t know what to say about the (sorry Q) Ukraine. Electing a comedian may be better than electing an oligarch but if the comedian is getting his marching orders from a billionaire Ukrainian cut-throat, then what’s the difference? You can talk about the Russians or the Americans until the cows come home, but the future of the Ukraine rests with Ukrainians and not the likes of Vickie Nuland or her Russian counterparts. Neither Russia nor the US have got the strength to move the needle. They can turn the screws on Kiev but events there have got their own momentum (or inertia). Something may yet come out of those Russian steppes or river valleys that’s worth a damn in civilizational terms but this is something that takes shape over generations.

    Oh yeah, the EU. Never mind the EU. This is the fly-blown carcass of a once vibrant continental civilization that’s on its knees begging for conquest and replacement. The question of course is conquest and replacement by who and what. Look at the spavined French, once the big-thinkers of Europe, obsessed by couture and cuisine, run by a two-bit lackey for big-money who’s too dumb to know that you don’t insult the people you’re mandated to serve. Yellow Vests? It could be a lot worse.

    The mighty and the glittering in their great salons may turn their noses up at nationalist movements in the center of Europe, but at least there’s some piss and vinegar there.

          V, there’s nothing the US could have done to stop the holocaust, except win the war, which was done. I think its telling that in the middle of WW2, none other than the VP of the US, Henry Wallace, visited as a special guest the Soviet death camp at Kolyma for a full month, and pronounced if a pretty good place. It doesn’t seem to be hard to hide mass murder. As for Wallace he saw what he wanted to see.

            But you’re pretty much right I think, aside from bombing death camps to demolish the facilities, but then you’d kill the inmates. Or maybe they could’ve made liberating the camps a central part of US and allied military campaigns.

            But what I’ve read, and no doubt there’s a lot of disputation on this from bona fide historians and holocaust deniers alike, a huge number of Jews were killed in situ by the Nazis instead of being transported to death camps ie dig a ditch, line ’em up and shoot. If that’s the case, you can bomb the camps if you like, or conduct air attacks to disrupt the trains going there, but that would have been of limited effectiveness.

      Abortion was a crime under the old English common law. When the Colonies became the States, it was the States not the Federal Government which was empowered to deal with common law crimes.

      Hence, I believe every state should have complete control over its abortion policies. A few states might make it illegal, but so what!

      A woman can always jump on a bus or plane and get the procedure in another state. Her ticket and expenses paid by wealthy philanthropic individuals and organizations which should be delighted to put their money where their mouth is.

      Is the baby due in a couple days? No problem, New York is untroubled by deadlines. (dead lines – unfortunate choice of wording). I’m sure they can make enough money selling newborn baby parts to cover the poor woman’s traveling expenses.

      The stated mandate of Margaret Sanger will march on – ridding the world of low value people of color and white trash. Our Elitists are quite devoted to eugenics. I’m just saying make them pay for it!

    I am prepared to wake up one fine morning and find the world has misplaced its facade and everything has turned to shit but it is not what I SEE when I get out and about.

It’s a great line–easy to imagine, almost impossible to see as signs of prosperity with easily printed money pop up everywhere. I am no rich person (except for my health, family, and friendships) but I have been to graduations, weddings, family gatherings, entertainment, beach visits, national park hikes across the country this year and literally everywhere is booming. Is there a seamy underside of desperation in all these glittering venues-undoubtedly. But I don’t experience them. What we have here is an imaginative certainty but not a real Reality, yet. We are as enamored of our prophesied disaster as the religious are of their God and the elite are of their Progress. Seven years ago I watched the first episode of Game of Thrones and it was suggested that Winter was Coming. I subsequently was hooked enough to watch the first season and was sufficiently titillated to consider watching a second season but I was miffed that Winter seemed to have disappeared….

    Broadly, this dissolution of gender roles in society and apathy of the disintegrating social structure caused a weakening in the fight and spirit for the rights of women over their own bodies…. the intelligentsia, and especially the bland, liberal caricature of the modern woman was blamed for modern “feminism” becoming too risk-averse, too avoidant, too censorious in terms of the ongoing project of enforcing a vigorous defense. Their attackers had no reason to show up on the battlefield after 1973. And so the once great warrior-queens put up their armor, and raised little millennial brats in the helicopter fashion of the 1990s, and forgot that there ever could be a day they’d see the state stop women from controlling their own bodies.

    Thus the majority-minority religious-affiliated were ignored, and uncontested, as they continued the work they started since the 1920s… getting God and the Gospel into every county, every state, while at the same time, their core belief against abortion leaving the public conversation.

    With it, their sphere of public influence grew while the public largely ignored their continual activity to undermine the Right. Politicians obliged their constituents on the matter of keeping silent. The public were uninterested in moral qualms of any kind, as they stewed in the contradictions and moral inversions of everyday life.

    Religion gained considerable strength, conducting a non-stop process of religious tests for public office… and yet it seemed no one heard, and no one saw, and no one said, what was happening… for 40 years.

    Suddenly, a judge in Alabama is sentencing a doctor to jail for 99 years. Women are buying bus tickets to other states to rid themselves of their rapist’s babies. Abortion is being banned, in defiance of Supreme Court law.

    While soccer moms barely noticed, informal religious networks met in church basements, drank punch, and ate cake and laughed and danced to music in All-American small towns across the country…

    But in Alabama…

    A doctor scans an ultrasound and squints. The normal, grainy image is distorted, and he turns the dial back and forth. Suddenly de realizes he is looking at a fetus with two heads.

    Immediately, he realizes- this will have to be a cesarean section. He runs down the list of staff and operating equipment he will need in his mind as he palpates the welfare mom’s belly, confirming the soft protuberance of the second cranium.

    He can’t believe it. Everything looks normal. One heart, One set of lungs. Two heads. He can see the slight pulsing of the external carotid artery… its is alive, not dead tissue. It looks perfectly formed.

    He isn’t a proud man, but he gets a rush. This is newsworthy. They’ll want to talk to him.

    Without a beat he phones his pastor.

    “Willy, you won’t believe it. You won’t believe it. I have a young lady here, she’s carrying a very… special child.”

    As far as illegal immigration goes, its becoming clear nothing can be done about it. I read recently there might be as many as 2.5 billion people — the whole 3rd world — who would like to emigrate into the US, Canada and W Europe. There is no will to stop them. Libs think illegals can be used for political purposes, but they’re the ones who will end up being used, and abused. Same goes for the Chamber of Commerce types who want cheap labor.     It takes a while before you can hear alarm bells. They’ve been ringing them for 40 years for climate change. This editorial was published 6 months ago.

    There’s an old Jewish saying that if you stand by the river long enough you’ll watch your enemies float by.

    I don’t know how deeply ingrained that notion is in cultural terms but maybe JHK subscribes to that idea being of that particular ethno-religious persuasion.

    And maybe Trump does too. I suspect that he’s rubbed shoulders with a lot of Jewish business-men in his line of work and so maybe he’s absorbed some of their thinking.

    And look at what he’s survived. A bunch of real estate companies collapsed starting in the 1990s, including some really big ones, but somehow Trump salvaged something out of it. He left bankrupted businesses in his wake, but he’s still standing.

    So is his presidency. OK, it was a laughable, half-assed coup attempt mounted against him, Italianate in its incompetence, with that joke of a dossier, a pissant Facebook advertising campaign put up by the Russians for who-knows-what purpose given the miniscule funds expended, and also a preposterous story about Russian email hacking, the chief – cough – evidence as the basis for all the “suspicion” and justification for all the surveillance.

    I mean, according to Facebook, the Russian ads cost $100,000 bucks. And $100,000 bucks does not amount to spit in an election costing $2.5 billion, or election advertising amounting to $1 billion, or donations from 20 individuals coming to more than $500 million.

    Still, Mueller took two years, ruined people who got in his investigative gun-sights, and without the benefit of foresight, you couldn’t know how low the coup-leaders would stoop to remove a sitting president.

    But Trump rode it out, and despite some mob-boss blustering about firing this guy and that guy, managed to not get rid of the guys entrusted to follow his orders but who failed to do the firing. And he didn’t replace those disobedient underlings with guys who WOULD do the firing and so put the issue of obstruction of justice into the realm of a Rachel Maddow wet-dream.

    So maybe JHK has that confidence, born of millennia of survival in the face of persecution and recent extinction-level calamity, but I’m not of his ilk. I’m not so optimistic about the juridical machines having the institutional will to grind out judgment and penalty for the miscreants that inflicted this lunacy.

    But maybe JHK is right, maybe he’s got the clearer take on this. . Maybe Trump will be standing by the river, watching his enemies float by. If that happens I will laugh my ass off.

        The Wall was never going to get built by conventional legislation. America is far too far gone for that. So we die. That’s acceptable. But declaring a National Emergency is simply beyond the pale! And actually, that would still be fought and delayed to a standstill. Only Martial Law could have done the trick, with judges arrested for trying to throw monkey wrenches into the works. But in retrospect, Trump was obviously the last guy in the world who was ever going to do that. So there was never a ghost of a chance with him. He’s simply not a Man of Gold or even Silver (Brahman or Ksyatria) in the spiritual sense. The Vaisya or Merchant predominates over the Ksyatria in his nature. But he has enough of the latter to fake that that’s what he is in total.

        Most people are a mixture of castes of course. And he has used his mix to great effect, posturing a nobility that he simply won’t back up in actuality.

But there are still people who were alive during the Great Depression and during the Stalinist era and who were alive in the early morning of June 22, 1941. And what the hell were the Nips thinking when they bombed Pearl Harbor? And what the hell was Adolf thinking when he declared war on the US?

    They laugh at and deride “populism” but what is it if not the opposite of “elitism” and what have “elites” inflicted if not sheer lunacy?

      V, I can believe that a portion of the Elite, maybe lower tier players are not so bright and tend to follow commands rather than make plans. But I think there are more intelligent and even brilliant people in their ranks than not. They didn’t become Elite for no reason right? Stark lunacy can be the product of brilliant minds can’t it? The drastic and extreme actions they are undertaking are stark lunacy but that doesn’t matter to them because their power and wealth insulate them. Getting to the goal is the only thing that matters. Not the collateral damage. That’s at least my impression of the way they are.

        Not so sure their wealth insulates them. Lots of examples where it didn’t. The French aristocracy lost their heads in the French revolution, so did the Russian elite to the Bolsheviks. The Ottoman empire came down as did the Austro-Hungarian and German. A lot of the Chinese aristocracy got killed by Mao and his boys. The Roman bosses in their manor houses and estates and plantations got ousted by the Goths and Slavs and what-not. And then the Byzantines lost their holdings first to Arab Muslims and then the Turks.

        Well see what happens this time around. They’ll tell you it’s different this time. Yeah, it is, it’s always different. It’s the ending that’s the same.

          The short answer is I have no answers.

          One theory is that we are amnesiacs in a Matrix environment – a highly advanced video role playing game.

          Maybe we voluntarily entered this “video role playing game” and gave up memory of who we really are to make it more real and exciting.

          Maybe the entities who run the game feed off our energy in some way and hence have trapped us here – lifetime following lifetime. Or maybe we are criminals in the other world fulfilling our sentence in this false reality.

      Globalism probably IS a threat to national sovereignty pk, but even if it is not it is a big threat to mankind in other ways. The Mega Wealthy royalty, business tycoons, and world banking elite are the people trying to bring it about and the reason that they want it is very logical, at least financially for them. If a single world ruling entity were to be established, it would be far less expensive for the international business people and the globetrotting elite to live their lives. There would only be one set of wheels to grease not one in every country they do business in. The cost of bribery alone would be cut in half. Plus it would be far easier to keep the manufacturing located where the labor is cheapest. Raw materials could be extracted from places where resistance would remain minimal. In general, business would be far easier to control and far more profitable.

      For those of us that believe in a spiritual battle, the One World government is the prophesized precedent to usher in the antichrist. Believe that or not, the choice is yours, but it is certainly makes sense to me.

    So, on the eve of the appointment of John Durham, the Black World Project turned into a strategic offensive, but it turned out that over the past six months, in the English-speaking world, or if you want, the Anglo-Saxon world has undergone such a serious change that this above-mentioned strategic offensive of the Black World Project failed, and it is extremely important to track these changes, despite the fact that due to the failure of the Black offensive, they are likely to go into a latent form, or rather into a state of hibernation. (Obviously, except for Janos).

    For example, I can track it back to March 25, when the main and most intelligent Clinton channel PBS published a detailed ideological basis of a coup d’état as a reaction to the Mueller report, which was presented to US Attorney General Barr on March 22.

    And on March 24, that is, the day before these April theses of Hillary Clinton on the PBS channel, US Attorney General Barr summed up the 2 years of Mueller’s work with a preliminary four-page conclusion that Trump’s election campaign did not cooperate with the Russian special services, and evidence of Trump’s attempts to obstruct justice (the Mueller investigation, that is) is not enough to bring the case to court.

    And I literally immediately wrote that by this conclusion Barr sets as his task not so much to justify Trump as to protect his close friend Mueller from the charges that he participated in a conspiracy to overthrow the lawfully elected US president, and such a conspiracy in the United States is called “treason” and punishable by death. Say, Muller was assigned to investigate, he investigated. Honestly investigated, but to the beginning of the investigation, he has no relationship.

    The fact is that the appointment of Muller as a special prosecutor to investigate President Trump’s cooperation with Russian intelligence was associated with a long and confusing story I wrote a lot about in early 2017 in this blog and which is directly connected with Hillary Clinton’s attempt to provoke a nuclear war, by arresting Russian diplomats in United States on January 2, 2017.

    But in the US, this story is still unknown and Trump’s supporters, instead of accusing Hillary of high treason and an attempted coup, then accused high-profile supporters of Hillary Clinton of fraudulently receiving a wiretap order for Trump’s election campaign, giving FISA special court the so-called Steele-on-Trump dossier, which describes Trump’s alleged recruitment process by Russian special services during his trip to Moscow, forgetting to mention that this dossier was paid for by Hillary Clinton’s election campaign.

    To the extent that there are payroll sheets in which it is written where, when and how much the former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele received, and this money strings stretches the trail to the factory of chemical warfare agents in Uzbekistan, during the Soviet era producing Novichok agent, and to people in Moscow, whom Steele paid for compromising materials on Trump.

    At one time, these strings made a lot of noise, but after the failure of the operation “Scripal’s Cat” and there remains only Trump’s illegal wiretapping campaign, as the false information in the court – and the lack of information in the FISA court about Hillary Clinton’s involvement in Steele’s file under American law makes the file fraudulent.

    And this means that the wiretap was illegal, and since it was this wiretap that made possible accusation of National Security Adviser Flynn of violating Logan’s Act forbidding negotiations with leaders of other states, if this contradicts US policy, Trump’s accusation of obstructing justice after he asked the FBI director Comey to stop the Flynn investigation turns out to be fraudulent as well.

    And along the chain, Mueller’s investigation turns out to be illegal, since it was precisely Comey’s dismissal after he leaked his conversation with Trump to the press that served as the basis for the appointment of Mueller as a special prosecutor.

    Exactly what Trump has been talking about all these two years.

    Naturally, the 4 pages of Barr, published on March 24 and removing charges from Trump in collaboration with the Russian special services, but putting a question mark next to charges of obstructing justice, forced the Clintonoids in the House of Representatives headed by the Chairman of the Judiciary committee Nadler to demand the complete Mueller report and issue subpoenas to US Attorney General Barr and other high-ranking officials of the Trump administration.

    And Barr agreed to appear for questioning, but they surrounded this interrogation with such conditions that the work of the committee headed by Nadler began to resemble Trump’s impeachment process, and as I wrote several times in the last days before Durham’s appointment, it became clear that this impeachment would be organized to justify the armed seizure of power, about which Hillary Clinton spoke on May 5.

    I must say that I also did not immediately understand what was happening and wrote about the activation of the Black World Project only on May 6, which was associated with the above-mentioned apologies in American society, which blurred the picture.

    In particular, Bastinda, the Great and Terrible, was made a laughing stock out of for her performance on May 5, and this slightly disoriented me, forcing me to focus on the telephone conversation between Putin and Trump, preparing for the visit of Pompeo and the Sheremetyevo disaster.

    But since these changes, apart from me, nobody noticed at all, and they played a decisive role in subsequent events, such as the US decision to lower the level of diplomatic relations with Ukraine or in the clashes in Yekaterinburg, I consider it necessary to devote a separate post to them.

    Sailors aboard a US submarine created a “rape list,” ranking female crewmembers and detailing sexual acts they wanted to perform on them, a report says. The boat’s commander was sacked following a probe into the case.

    Just two year after the USS Florida became the second navy submarine to integrate enlisted women, a “rape list” was shared among its crew, news outlet Military.com wrote, citing an investigation report, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

    The probe is said to have discovered that “lewd and sexist comment and jokes were tolerated” on board, while trust among the crewmembers and senior officers “was nonexistent.”

    Well, who needs that boat commander anyhow. If there is anything that is a dime-a-dozen and easily replaced, it is a nuclear-missile armed submarine captain. I cannot wait to see the US Navy put a black woman in command of one of its nuclear submarines. The only question is whether she will a) accidentally nuke a foreign country, b) sink the sub, or c) accidentally nuke a foreign country while the sub is sinking, before d) the crew mutinies.

    Devil’s advocate time.

    This group loves to us clobber the wealthy of the country. Yes, there are really evil wealthy people out there but most are not in productive roles.

    But, why are they wealthy, especially the high techers. Because the public wants them to be!

    Huh? How many folks do not trade up to better equipment to retain wealth at their level instead of hand it to the wealthy. Wealthy people find things that people want and build them. Sports figures are wealthy because the public are willing to pay them with full stadiums of outrageous ticket prices. Same with the mediocre performance artists that fill stadiums.

    We, the public are willing to support the wealthy entrepeneur class to provide us with the goodies of life. Imagine a world like the USSR where people complained about the availability of toilet paper and not cell phones.

    This does not include the non-productive group of parasites that live in Wash, DC and feed on us with no good results. And the irony is that they have convinced the public to exercise their gimme attitudes to steal the wealth of the people that “deserve it”. One thing that socialism will do to us is remove the standard of living progress that tech gives us. Can you imagine even one Deep State jerk giving a real damn about the public?

    Is Anybody willing to give up the convenience of Facebook or Amazon to prevent two small groups of folks from being wealthy? No way!

    Not paying taxes is a common complaint against the wealthy, and rightfully so. However, who voted in the deductions that allow them to skip taxes.

    The real evil resides in Wash, DC.

        DC IS black and white. There is no middle ground. Thanks to our government, guiding this country is like tillering a ship with two commands, full right or full left turns. Ambivalence in the past allowed it to work, not so much any more. There is no compromise, no middle ground, no grey area. Everything is a dichotomy.

        My point was the public creates the condition that makes small groups wealthy. If you sell the public what it wants, you get rich.

        And the government just mucks this up.

        And the public gets to join in, vis a vis the stock market casino.

Communism is just the extreme form of monopoly Capitalism. The spectrum of colors can’t account for acoustics. In the same way, a whole other dimension has been ignored (deliberately, & who benefits from the ignoring?). It’s called the Third Way.

      You’re right John. There isn’t anything wrong with working hard and becoming wealthy through hard work and ingenuity. People like this do benefit society and they should be rewarded. But in today’s world lots of business people accumulate wealth doing things that undermine the country like employing illegal aliens. All of these destructive practices must be brought to an end. The business lobbies and the Chamber of Commerce buy off politicians to support open borders because it brings plenty of business and money making opportunities. Real evil resides in many places and needs to be eradicated in many places. A small decentralized government is not up to this task.

    The study once again shows that liberal views are not an evolution of the humanistic approach, but the same dense heresy and bias, like any other public opinion and stereotypes, only with different accents.

      After a lot of thought I realized there isn’t any such thing as “secular” or “atheist”. What I mean is, ok, so like we supposedly live in a secular society. But actually, the vaccum that has been left by taking Christianity out of everything has been filled by the religion of Climate Change and Social Justice. Secularism and Humanism are theories but never really work in practice because humans are inherently spiritual beings. So when people say that we have to make or keep society secular they are really saying that they want to replace existing traditions and religions with new ones.

        The labels being applied DO have relevance – the FF wrote the constitution deliberately and consciously EXCLUDING religion from the discourse of government functions. They recognized the danger in any ONE religion having sway over the Body Politic would end in tyranny to some extent or other.

        We can witness this in societies where the Religious rule is the Civil rule too – such as the much feared Sharia Law in the Muslim sphere. But even within that, there are two ‘schools’ and the ‘other one’ is heretical. No peace ever.

        It would be just as bad – possibly worse! – if the crazy religious Christian Right got level of governmental control they would like to have in the USA. They’re getting might close to a take-over as it is.

And unfortunately from my perspective the Founding Fathers should have made Christianity preeminent because that was our tradition. But instead we have come so far as to not have any identity beyond money making and empire building.

            Religious people and dogmatists who don’t accept evidence like to use that ploy because they think they can bring rational people down to their level of argument. It works for their egos, but it doesn’t work.

            The thing is, SSL, that you are young. Unless you’re raptured by a nuclear missile you’re going to have to confront the truth about climate change eventually. And 20 or 30 years from now the fact that there was a late frost in France in 2019 isn’t going to cut it for you.

            I once worked with someone in the late 70s, when I first came to Edinburgh, who told me about seeing flurries of snow here when she was leaving for the airport in June. I had and have no reason to doubt her. But it meant absolutely nothing more than that on that day there were some unseasonal flurries of snow. Nor did she intend that it should.

            Well Alba, Climate Change and to a large degree environmentalism have become a religion for many people who are very dogmatic in their viewpoints. And it is the case that this new religious practice has taken hold in the void that was originally filled by the dogma and practices of Christianity. It doesn’t have anything to do with what I prefer or think. Perhaps these things are not a religion for you and that is fine, but that does not mean it is not to other people. I haven’t read Max Weber but assume from your response that he believes that Protestant theology led to the practice and philosophy of Capitalism. This is all well and good. But, I don’t believe in the Prosperity Movement so I can’t say that I would ever agree. Hard work is a Biblical ethic and there is nothing inherently wrong with accumulating wealth in an honest way. But to be solely guided by material concerns, money and wealth is not Biblical and is therefore unacceptable behavior.

So I am facing the issues but just seeing some things differently.

    Study: the brain of creative people prevents them from earning good money

    German scientists from the Göttingen Medical Center found that the features of the brain prevent creative people from earning big money. The results of the study were published in the publication “ArtNet”.

    The experiment involved 24 volunteers who were divided into two groups: in the first were artists, photographers, sculptors, musicians and actors, in the second – insurance agents, administrators, engineers and representatives of other “non-creative” professions.

    Each participant was shown several images in which it was necessary to find certain colors and press a button. For the green color, participants were given 30 euros, and for others nothing. During testing, participants’ brains were scanned using an MRI machine.

    When creative people found a “monetary” color, their brains showed very weak activity in the area of the striatum – the part of brain that is responsible for the response to rewards. But when artists found colors, but did not receive money for this, increased activity was observed in the anterior prefrontal cortex, which is responsible for producing dopamine, which affects the sense of satisfaction.

    The researchers concluded that the brain of creative people shows interest only in the process itself, without taking material rewards into account. In addition, “artists” can work much better when they know that they will not receive money for it.

    This is definitely about yours truly. I always found it extremely boring when I was making too much money.

    What is wrong with our corporations is that they have globalized and do not care what their moving wealth and jobs from this country does to the Average American. Ie, they are no longer American.

    What is right is that they provide services and products to us and we are the ones that support their wealth consolidation. By their definition, they provide wealth to the upper income groups, but also to 401k holders and pension plans for investment into the future.

    So corporations are both good and evil?

    Communism is the government control and ownership of the goods and services of a society. It’s end goal is the elimination of government in favor of: From each according to his talents, To each according to his need. Communism is the result of failed capitalism, where the income inequalities have caused rebellion against the Elite.

    Capitalism is ownership by private individuals, persons, or corporations. It’s advantage is the energy greed adds to the society, but that is its disadvantage as more people lose in the competition and income inequality takes over.

    Both ideologies must serve the majority of the public to be sustainable.

    Everyone can probably guess where the US sits right now. Trump is the last gasp of the capitalist free market’s attempt to prove its worth in the economy. If capitalism alienates a significant portion of the population, the socialist revolution can occur and the full fledged invasion of government ownership could occur.

    Then you have all the problems of communism.

    Our government’s inability to function may lead us to the revolution.

        Pure forms of either model are unworkable for the same reason. People are individuals looking out for their own interests and they are greedy.

        National Socialism has bad connotations thanks to Germany, Italy and Japan. The idea though that the role of government is to control the evil aspects of capitalism has merit.

        An example

        Reagan tore apart the progressive taxation policies of the preceding twenty years. The idea was to recycle capital back into the creative parts of the economy. Sounds great, what happened? The percentages taxed became onerous as the start of the globalization of the world economy occurred. Lots of capital formation here when we were the only intact economy of the world. As the world recovered, we lost capital formation and thus wealth creation. The Elite beefed up a storm and the tax rate reduction was the result. Same thing just happened with Trump after the capital contraction of 2008.

        There is a role for government that should be apolitical. Not only setting interest rates, but increasing and decreasing tax rates according to the capital creation requirements.

        Can our government handle that role? I do not know. Not in the politically charged condition it is in now. And not under the control of a bunch of zealous Liberals who have no concept of what economics is all about or what a dollar is worth. Rational fact based regulation of the tax rates is required, not the knee jerk reactions that occur now.

          Yes John that is right. There is a role for strong responsive government as you say. The problem is that the most intelligent, most moral, and most patriotic should be the only ones allowed into government. The best the brightest the strongest. But our system now being a democracy allows participation without qualifications. Non citizens vote in our elections now. And this leads to corruption and a civic race to the bottom if that makes sense. There is nothing we can do about greed. Its part of human nature. It must be managed by the individual and if the individual fails to manage it the state has no choice but to, if not for anything else but the well being of everyone else.

      Alvin Toffler has proposed that true capitalism is communism.

      If capitalism is ownership of the means of production, and a fair capitalist society saw to it that the employees of a business are most fully and productively engaged in the business by owning shares in it as part of remuneration, eventually the business is owned by the workers.

      The Soviet model of ‘communism’ was nothing of the sort – it was just State Capitalism and was extremely poorly run and hence failed.

    Looks like France may not have a great corn crop this year. Persistent chilly weather and frosts are the culprits. Given the floods in the Midwest one can only wonder if this years’ harvests will be significantly reduced. Why aren’t we preparing for the colder weather that’s coming? The cold is going to have more negative impacts on society generally than warming would have. Guess we will learn the hard way.

      When we lived in Colorado Springs, I had a big victory garden. Planted corn one year and it was knee high at the Fourth of July as it should be. So the next year, I planted the whole thing in corn. Fourth of July came around and a cold wet Spring produced corn plants about two inches high. What a joke, I still laugh about it and never planted corn again.

      BTW, that cold Spring was the Spring following the explosion at St. Helens. We had volcanic Ash on our back porch.

      Well, here’s the thing, SSL, and maybe there’s an explanation for it.

      We had that flooding in Nebraska and Iowa in the spring and a purported 1.5 million head of cattle were drowned. I figured steak would be hard to come by, or at least become prohibitivly expensive. But this week at the local grocery store sirloin steak was on sale for $4.99 per pound. We’ve been grilling it all weekend so far. Live it up while you’re still above ground, that’s my motto.

          Grass fed beef is a canard. I own a meat cutting room…hang and process beef, pigs, lambs. There is no way under most circumstances that grass fed beef will grade higher than choice. Neighbor has been a cattleman all his life…currently has 2000 head of cattle. He mentioned once that he would never eat beef that was straight-up grass fed.

          I’ve eaten a lot of grass fed beef…usually second rate. Prime rib? Cannot find it on grass fed animals. Choice rib, maybe.

          If you’ve been eating grass fed beef, you might or might not live longer…but it might seem that way.

    If you have a globe filled with people who have transportation you are going to have globalization.

    Throughout history, trade routes have grown around the world.
    The Silk Road, the Amber Road, the Spice route, the Trans Saharan, etc. Now of course with tanker ships, trucks, trains and planes we have an intricate network of both macro and micro trade routes.

    If you are going to have international trade, you are going to have globalization. The question then arises, does that necessarily mean outsourcing? The answer to that lies in the economic nature of the international competition.

    So we naturally segue into another question, was it Greed or Survival that in the main prompted outsourcing? Both would be a reasonable answer, and different businesses would be dealing with different circumstances. Some blame unions, some blame corporate bigwigs. Some blame Nixon.

      I think I mentioned before the Spaniards were sending one or two ships a year to China and the Philippines from Acapulco begining in 1535. When Magellan’s ships reached the Spice Islands, now Indonesia, in about 1521 (Magellan had been killed by that time) they ran into the Portugese already there, trading for spices. There was hell to pay for the Spanish when the Portugese caught them encroaching on what they considered their territory. I think it started with Marco Polo, and the Spice Road, in the 13th century. Europeans of that time were crazy for those condiments, travelled across the world facing all kind of danger to get them.

    It’s still snowing here in the North. We got maybe 1/2 inch today. Other places got a couple inches. Covered vehicles but the ground temperature was warm enough for it to largely melt on the roadways. The rich smell of woodsmoke permeated everything– as people had their wood burning stoves and furnaces running today, since the highs were in the 30s.

    God I love that smell of wood burning. I have been in many other places in North America, and never smelled that anywhere else like I do here. It is comforting and reassuring, and holds 40 years of memories for me– since it is associated with so many things here. Eating & drinking & bullshitting around a good fire is a hallmark of the North.

    And when this suspicion takes hold of the masses then it will not seem small to anyone, and the government of Hillary Clinton, which she will form after the successful removal of President Trump, is doomed to such an uprising, and if she does not care for it because she is going to press the red button, her supporters understand this perfectly and they don’t like this prospect very much.

    Under the conditions of the inevitable economic crisis caused by the last and decisive coup d’etat of Hillary Clinton, such an uprising for them personally could bring such torments that Trump’s electric chair may seem civilized and humane, especially in light of the bitterness among Republicans and not only Republicans that the latter have caused by the actions of Hillary supporters.
