NEWA New Video Message From Your Blogger JHK

The swamp abides. The latest news media dumpster fire over President Trump’s phone conversation with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky is a three-way ruse. Ruse 1: deflect attention from the main issue, which is Joe Biden’s trolling for payoffs on his missions to foreign lands as vice-president, first Ukraine, where son Hunter was gifted a board of director’s chair and $50K-a-month salary with Ukrainian gas company Burisma, and then a $1.5 billion “private equity investment” to Hunter Biden’s wealth management fund from the state-owned Bank of China. Ruse 2: to deflect attention from the damage soon to be inflicted on the Deep State by the forthcoming DOJ Inspector General’s report on FISA court abuses. Ruse 3. To set in motion yet another obstruction of justice trap for Mr. Trump on the basis of false charges.

This comes at the instigation of Intelligence Community Inspector General Michael Atkinson, who was formerly senior legal counsel to John Carlin head of the National Security Division of the Department of Justice, deeply implicated in the FISA court matters of 2016 under investigation by federal prosecutor John Durham.  Mr. Atkinson cited a complaint by an unnamed whistleblower who claims to have heard from a source that the President offered a quid pro quo to Ukrainian President Zelensky for reopening the Burisma case. The “whistleblower” may be Mr. Atkinson himself.

Of course, gaffe-prone Joe Biden spilled the beans on video earlier this year, when he bragged about shaking down Ukraine’s then-president Petro Poroshenko over a billion-dollar loan guarantee unless he fired the prosecutor investigating Burisma, which he did. Is there any ambiguity here?

The coordination between the news media and the Deep State is impressively blatant in this new gambit, with former acting FBI director Andrew McCabe (dismissed for cause in 2018), in his new position as a CNN “contributor” (while awaiting prosecution) teeing up a new “Trump collusion” narrative with The New York Times, WashPost, and NBC marching in step. In this new age of disinformation, narratives are the political weapon of choice in the campaign to harass and disable the winner of the 2016 election. The big play of RussiaGate failed, the play of “racism” is failing, so UkraineGate is next up.

It’s also obviously an effort to reenergize the impeachment operation in congress, badly botched so far by Jerold Nadler’s House Judiciary Committee. But it’s hard to imagine a better entertainment than an impeachment of Donald Trump in congress. Unless the Deep State wants to throw former President Obama under the bus, along with dozens of his associates (including Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Biden), they might be advised to call off that circus. A trial in the Senate, where the GOP runs the proceedings, would be an even better table-turner than the rousing climax of Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

I have a new theory about where the 2020 election is heading: if the Democratic Party candidate happens to lose, the party’s lawyers will unleash a blizzard of litigation in every voting district where the outcome was a couple of thousand ballots against them. It will be the 2000 “hanging chad” fracas on steroids and they will go so far as render the election inconclusive, therefore provoking the most parlous constitutional crisis since the start of the Civil War. In other words, they will dare to disable the republic.

Something or somebody will have to put a stop to these seditious turpitudes. The machinery of the law must be turned on the “resistance” and its operatives in the Deep State. Mr. Barr has the opportunity to do that. A globe of silence has enclosed his doings for many months. Impatient observers jump to the conclusion that the silence means he is doing nothing. I am not so sure of that. Given the purposeful hysteria ginned up so dishonestly in the press — and so injuriously to the actual public interest — don’t you suppose he would want to avoid tossing dynamite into that dumpster fire? By the same token, those actively stoking the dumpster fire are revealing their utter desperation. The unexpected consequence will be the suicide of the Democratic Party. But then people don’t necessarily get what they expect, they get what they deserve.

This dumpster fire of an election will make all of us a little crazy, but if the Golden Golem wins, the Democrats will totally lose it mentally. We will see lawsuit after lawsuit trying to nullify it.

    • FallenHero September 23, 2019 at 10:16 am #

By now its clear everything is going down but where does that leave the average person? Both parties are incredibly corrupt, our country is being lost to illegals, and people make less and less each year. Where does it end?

      • K-Dog September 23, 2019 at 10:40 am #

I’m not sure the illegals are actually any more illegal than you are. Does saying so make it so? Or does it just push an agenda. What does such a situation mean to you? Do you dare to say?

        • Cavepainter September 23, 2019 at 10:51 am #

Dog, what is it with you? Stay on topic; “sovereign” by definition is opposite to “illegal” in this discussion. Unless, of course, you number among those having a yard sign that reads “No human is illegal”. Please, from your other posts you are much more sagacious than that.

        • Nightowl September 23, 2019 at 11:03 am #

Presentation of a birth certificate, US passport, or appropriate visa would clear up any misunderstanding.

        • cc rider September 23, 2019 at 11:58 am #

Typical lefty response on the subject of illegals. You obviously don’t believe in a nation’s right to have a lawful manner to become a citizen. I’m betting that you’re a self loathing honky too.

        • shotho September 23, 2019 at 12:33 pm #

If no one is an illegal American citizen, then let’s cease all border control immediately. Every person in the world is a legal citizen of the USA, so must have free, unfettered lawful entry.

If my rowdy, Remington-toting redneck relatives and I were to show up in your abode unannounced and proceed to empty your fridge, leave steaming coils on your lawn and your furniture, and have our way with Ewenice, your beloved blow-up sheep, would you welcome us with open arms, as you would with an illegal alien, or would you call the cops and try to have us arrested for shagging your plastic she-sheep? If you say your have us arrested, on what basis would you do so? The laws you’d attempt to use against us are actually weaker than the laws you want the federal and state governments to ignore. Is it a desire to ensure a “Democrat Party” government forever (in quotes because the current Dems have almost nothing in common with Truman and Kennedy)? Maybe you’re one of these numbnuts Millennials who believe in a global socialist utopia where there are no borders of judgment (clearly in more ways than one), unless one has reservations — in which case the unlucky person is called a kulak and becomes less than a person before being killed. Or maybe you’re just some raging Antifa thug who thinks taking a club to someone who isn’t part of your hive mind is great sport. Whatever, using half-assed moral relativism you learned from a blind drunk TA doesn’t cut it in the real world.

          • cc rider September 24, 2019 at 9:37 am #

No K-Dog is a numbnut Boomer. I don’t think he’s a kawledge profesur, but the ranks of profesur-dom are filled with like-minded numbnuts who’ve had a large hand in filling young millennial skulls full of mush with their numbnuttery.

I dare say: anyone who is not a US citizen and is living in the USA without INS approval has broken our immigration laws, and is living here illegally.
Many Dem front runners seem to want two things:
          1. open borders.
          2. taxpayer funded healthcare (“Medicare for All”) for everyone living here.
We are a rich nation. We could likely afford to implement one of those two platforms. We cannot implement both together.

      • pokercat September 23, 2019 at 11:02 am #

” By now its clear everything is going down but where does that leave the average person? Both parties are incredibly corrupt, our country is being lost to illegals, and people make less and less each year. Where does it end?”

You know where it ends, Lock and load baby!
In the aftermath we will fall into China’s hand like an overripe fruit.

        • Tate September 23, 2019 at 2:26 pm #

Of course. A nation of wet robots. The Chinese have no Promethean spark to light the advance of civilization. The East Asians are precocious early on but they don’t mature into the genius caliber of individual that Western man regularly produces.

There is some argument whether we will ever have the technical expertise not to mention energy resources to establish colonies beyond the bounds of this island earth, but if we do, it will only be possible with the ingenuity of a European-derived genetic stock. This might relieve the population pressure here within the terrestrial gravity well, but a still greater influence will be ahem ‘Chinese methods’ of population control. This is ironic in that Christianity is the fastest-growing religion in China.

          • hmuller September 24, 2019 at 3:31 pm #

In China Christians are valued for the price of their trans-plantable organs.

      • Nightowl September 23, 2019 at 6:29 pm #

Then support the president. He is not a traditional Repub, and he is not a globalist.

What other option is there? Either you bow to the globalist program and cut years off of your life in despair or you support a guy who beat incredible odds to take the reigns and attempt to preserve your country’s sovereignty.

I moved to Europe to get away from modern American life, am also a registered Green, and cannot figure out why anyone with an IQ above room temperature and a desire to preserve the US would not support Trump.

The globalist set is doing everything they can to remove him from office. If that doesn’t tell you something, I don’t know what will.

        • capt spaulding September 23, 2019 at 8:07 pm #

It’s reins not reigns. Two completely different meanings.

          • Nightowl September 24, 2019 at 5:53 am #

It’s a typo. Feel free to provide an argument backed by facts where I challenged you below.

        • JackStraw September 24, 2019 at 7:16 pm #

I think the same thing. How could anybody with a functioning brain support open borders and globalism? It’s like cheering for the opposing team as they grab you by the throat.

    • zetatai September 23, 2019 at 4:36 pm #

Perhaps a detail of little significance re: the greater intent of your article, Jim, but considering your statement:

“Of course, gaffe-prone Joe Biden spilled the beans on video earlier this year, when he bragged about shaking down Ukraine’s then-president Petro Poroshenko over a billion-dollar loan guarantee unless he fired the prosecutor investigating Burisma, which he did. Is there any ambiguity here?”

Ambiguity? Timid vocabulary is utterly out of character, so I’m wondering if, perhaps, you’ve got a soft spot for creepy uncle Joe? Seems unlikely … so can we go out on a limb & suggest it might be ever-so-slightly hypocritical? Heck, given the braggadocio, how about hubristic hypocrisy?

  2. Neon Vincent September 23, 2019 at 10:06 am #

Happy Autumnal Equinox to you and your readers. You may be looking for Biden to dissolve over his ties to Ukraine, but the meltdown in Ukraine that more people are paying attention to right now is the HBO limited series “Chernobyl,” which earned three Emmy Awards last night in addition to the seven it already won for technical categories.

    • Neon Vincent September 23, 2019 at 10:13 am #

As for actual failures on the campaign trail, the latest one so far is Bill de Blasio dropping out. Other than trying and failing to prove that the Mayor of New York City was a bigger deal than the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, I’m not sure what the point of his campaign was. Maybe it really was just to raise his profile, as another reader here suggested. Meanwhile, I have drinks for candidates at the October Democratic debates to toast the survivors (so far) of what Stephen Colbert called “the hungry for power games.”

      • hmuller September 23, 2019 at 10:19 am #

Isn’t it true the esteemed NYC mayor wants to end public school programs for gifted children because it hurts the self-esteem of the less than gifted?

“Make America Mediocre Again!” It would have been such a fitting campaign slogan.

LOL! Grifters gotta grift and then they like to brag. Turns out Pelosi’s the smart one in the room for resisting impeachment tooth and nail. She knows what the young guard perhaps haven’t figured out yet (or perhaps they have?), that an impeachment trial would lift the lid on the shenanigans of both parties and there might not be anyone left standing inside the beltway in the aftermath.

    • K-Dog September 23, 2019 at 10:37 am #

Three dots. I’ll pretend they substitute for a three letter abbreviation of a government agency. Just for fun. Take your choice and I’ll take mine. Don’t get too deep about it.

      • ellipsis September 23, 2019 at 10:41 am #

I’ve been informed that’s three dots won’t hack it, so the more formal ‘ellipsis’ it will be. Gotta nice ring to it.

    • michics September 23, 2019 at 10:42 am #

Agreed. JHK’s statement of the halls of justice will start prosecuting the deep state critters is not going to happen. We’ve been waiting for various critters to be prosecuted for years and nothing. It’s not going to happen for exactly the reason you stated. If they start with one then the can of worms is open for all.

      • Nightowl September 23, 2019 at 11:12 am #

It has to be exposed slowly. Some of us have known about many of the items revealed over the past 6-7 months for nearly 3 years now, but much of the general public still has no clue what is going on.

If Trump were to declassify FISA, etc., now, I still think much of the public would not be able to deal with it.

There will have to be criminal prosecutions in the end, as there is already too much info. out in the open. These are historic times we are living in.

      • cbeard September 23, 2019 at 12:09 pm #

Don’t look for Mr. Barr to do anything. He is part of the deep state.

        • cc rider September 23, 2019 at 2:19 pm #

Yes he most certainly is. As well as a very long time swamp creature himself. The only hope is if what he said in an interview this past Spring means that he’s in the mood to atone and deal a death blow to both the DS and Swamp. He said something along the lines of, “I’m at the end of my career and life so I don’t really care what people think of me.” That’s not a verbatim quote, but it is what he said in my own words to the best of my recollection.

          • Tate September 23, 2019 at 2:35 pm #

Barr may be the only hope of restoring some semblance of a return to an earlier stasis. The old ones ‘at the end of their careers’ are the only hope for some honesty to restore the status quo. But this is only a temporary reprieve. The core is still rotten.

Meanwhile on the SA oil production might be permanently lower front:

Repairs to Saudi Oil Production May Take ‘Many Months’: WSJ

“The situation is not “as rosy as you might think,” the official said.

The attack cut roughly half the nation’s oil output, which amounts to more than 5% of world supply.”

A question to ponder is, does such a hit make the Seneca cliff steeper or could it in a mysterious way cause us to walk along the cliff to find a better way down?

I’ll go with it will not actually raise awareness and the propaganda of perverting the news of the attack to push the perennial American – Iran agenda has ruined any chance of using the 5% figure to suggest how precarious the future actually is.

    • cc rider September 23, 2019 at 12:06 pm #

The Saudi oil production scare turned out to be pretty much a non-starter. For at least the 5th straight trading day in a row WTI is still around $58 per barrel. Cutting 5% of the world’s supply isn’t enough to spike prices to scary levels because global demand has been down for about a year now. That’s because economic activity has been declining, and we ain’t seen nuthin’ yet on that front.

      • cbeard September 23, 2019 at 12:12 pm #

The retail apocalypse rolls on. Just had another chain store closing in my hometown.

      • fugeguy September 23, 2019 at 1:08 pm #

I agree the cut (maybe permanent?) of SA capacity is not an issue today but longer term, especially if the world decides to organically grow again, the loss of potential maximum oil output is an issue.

Solar panels, windmills, unicorn farts aside.

        • Tate September 23, 2019 at 2:38 pm #

Yeah, unicorn farts. It’s a bumpy ride down.

      • BackRowHeckler September 23, 2019 at 2:56 pm #

        Cc rider

Demand is still about 100 million barrels per day, is it not?

        • cc rider September 23, 2019 at 5:30 pm #

Well I see that different websites that track oil demand have differing numbers. I just remember hearing and reading quite a few times this past year that oil demand has leveled off and is declining. Maybe that’s true, maybe not. All I do know is that the scary predictions that oil would rocket to 100 dollars a barrel have proven to be untrue. It is just 2 dollars above what it was the day before the SA attack. This WTI prices. I don’t know about Brent admittedly.

“The unexpected consequence will be the suicide of the Democratic Party.” …JHK

Unlike the curious case of Jeffrey Epstein, this will be a self-inflicted suicide.

    • Tate September 23, 2019 at 2:47 pm #

The only major party that ever self-destructed were the Whigs. That’s because their campaign issue(s) were eclipsed by another more powerful issue. Are we witnessing another such scenario today? I don’t see it. What we have at present are two Americas, divided almost exclusively by the cultural divide. But if there is a serious economic contraction between now & Nov 6, 2020, then how can the Dems spin such an event? I honestly don’t know, but the Repugs would have to do more spinning, that I do know.

      “…karma bucket…”

I am nearly 80 years old and for over half my life have been seriously absorbed in just such a concern: the native Indians, the Mexicans, Twentieth-Century shenanigans in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Chile, Argentina, Iran, Libya, all through Africa… There will be a fearsome price to pay; I am convinced of this. How ironic that the thugs and villains who engineered this evil are mostly dead, and it is their grandchildren who will suffer so brutally.

When I try to explain the animal terror we felt in late 1962 ~1963, when thermonuclear exchange looked more than likely, the young simply look puzzled and not very interested. Now the whistling in the dark has taken on a rather more frantic note.

The coordination between the news media and the Deep State is impressively blatant in this new gambit,

It really has become a 24/7 gas-lighting operation, hasn’t it?

    • K-Dog September 23, 2019 at 10:47 am #

I think it is a personal problem that a lot of us suffer from including myself. The blatant bastardization of truth by the deliberate cultivation of lies is hard to watch for anybody with a brain. The stomach gets twisted and upset. Sometimes the ridiculousness makes me want to hurl. Especially when I contemplate the actual harm the lies will do.

The things is, it really doesn’t matter by the time they are outed as fake news. The damage has been done in the minds of many. Who reads the retractions?

      It is truly amazing.

Trouble is that we are creating many 2 tier societies simultaneously at the moment- resourcewise, wealthwise, knowledgewise, understandingwise, etc.

Conflict is inevitable. Tear it open if you dare, their are things (and weapons) inside without a care (for humanity).

I can just as easily imagine the Trumpadumpas going on a violent rampage if Trump loses, which he could if the primaries give the nod to Warren or Sanders and the Dems are smart enough this time not to try stuffing the turkey sandwich (in this case, Biden) down the country’s throat. Both sides consistently underestimate how very divided and volatile the country is right now, cleaving to the fantasy that when “they” (presumably the swing voters) see how right about everything either Team Red or Team Blue really is, whichever side will enjoy a total landslide victory. The truth is, true swing voters are only about ten percent at most of regular voters (many of whom rarely vote in midterm elections), and that’s a generous estimate.

Divided we stand, so divided we fall.

The Obama administration surely must be the high water mark for corruption. The Bidens on one side of the pay to play setup, the Clintons on the other. And this we know only because of furtive exposure. Think of all the others and their dealings with foreign powers. Obama was a weak man who could not control his own people, and most likely, he didn’t want to.
The NY Times this morning is trumpeting impeachment for the Biden/Ukraine exposure.
There is no way any of this can be corrected, made right. McCabe, The Indicted, on CNN and Donna Brazile the Debate Cheater on Fox News, there’s no turning any of this around. When the US loses the big war (a foregone conclusion,) the world will come to collect payback.

  15. volodya September 23, 2019 at 11:30 am #

Maybe nobody puts a stop to these seditious turpitudes.
Maybe what takes shape is a Third World United States, with monumental corruption (which already exists) but which nobody even tries to conceal. Look at Clinton behavior as the template for public officials but without the bother of a veneer of plausible denial or half-assed legal cover and without Comey-esque escape hatches.

No criminal intent? Nobody will even make that excuse because it won’t be needed because criminals in Washington and Manhattan will be far above the law. They, in fact, already are. If they didn’t throw a gang of them in jail over the financial collapse and its howling illegalitiesten years ago then it’s hard to see what would impel law enforcement now. It’s like Holder said, “too big to jail.” They were then, and are now, way, way too big to jail.

It’s not just in the political realm that we sniff the odor of desperation, it’s also in the financial world. Negative interest rates are the Hail Mary pass because financial officials have no idea what else to do or recommend. It signals a complete bankruptcy of ideas as to how to dig the modern-day neo-liberal order out of the mess that its leading lights created. Neo-liberalism doesn’t work and it can’t work and it can’t be fixed because so much of the Establishment is invested in it. They literally will not believe what’s under their noses, and with their last dying breath they will defend that unworkable global economic arrangement.

Have you read Kevin Rudd’s book? I haven’t, at least, not yet, but the reviews tell me that it’s a passionate defense of the globalist status quo. Rudd was Australia’s PM and as leader of that place would have been eyeball to eyeball with other national leaders and also the world’s business elite ie the .1 percent. The point is that he’s seen a thing or two and supped with the movers and shakers.
According to one review Rudd writes that the whole purpose of the rules-based international order was to protect the weak against the strong. In fact it’s the exact opposite, the whole point of the international order was to further enable the strong to prey upon the weak and to take away any remedies the weak had in protecting themselves.

The whole reason we see unrest right now in so much of the globe is because of the wrack inflicted by the rich and powerful. That’s the entirety of it. People like Rudd will denigrate the intellectual capacities of the malcontents and deride their supposed racism and xeno and various other “phobias”, but the net result of this globalist arrangement has been ruin on large swathes of people around the world, especially in North America and Europe but also in places like Hong Kong, where people are still going on rampages.

Bilateralism doesn’t work crow people like Rudd. And multilateralism, they say, is the way forward. Well, it’s all in the execution, the devil not only in the details but in the overall intent. And I would argue that you can divine intent from results. But regardless of intent, results are what matter. And the results are calamitous, not only from the micro perspective of individuals and families, but also overall. The numbers simply do not work, they are not even close and in their desperation to fix this horror show, they inflict NIRP. Which is preposterous.

I hope they can do better than “preposterous”, because as even a glance at the news will tell you, events are afoot.

            Transcript released, right on cue.

Crowdstrike involved, missing server in Ukraine, Biden’s illegal activities merely a footnote. 🙂

What was finally delivered was a 5 page (huh…5 pages, like Barr’s Mueller Report) summary of notes – far from a full & unredacted conversation of 30 minutes, but even that information is damning enough. Impeachment proceeds.

    • Majella September 23, 2019 at 9:13 pm #

Actually, the Biden angle has been weaponized into a BS conspiracy theory.

The video clip JHK has included is more than a little out of context – the prosecutor, Shokin, that the whole West Int’l community wanted to be sacked had been far from the corruption-fighting super-hero he’d portrayed himself to be.

Instead, he’d been actually OBSTRUCTING numerous anti-corruption investigations.

The fact that Hunter Biden had a seat on the Board of Burisma post-dates the shit-fight that some Burisma officers had got into with UK investigators, and Biden Senior’s pressure to sack Shokin was unrelated to Biden Junior’s position.

The fact that Biden happily told the story in public at the CFR meeting tends to support the fact that this was legitimate foreign policy pressure. It wasn’t an attempt to extort behavior from a foreign Government to corrupt or distort an internal local (USA) political rivalry.

Trump, on the other hand, is a hapless, clueless nincompoop, thinking he can do whatever the hell he likes and it’s all ‘legal’ because he’s the president.

Uh-uh…wrong Donny-Boy. That was a spurious argument put up by Nixon AFTER he’d resigned and has never been accepted as a legal basis for ‘doing whatever I want’.

        • Majella September 24, 2019 at 6:09 pm #

Nice rejoinder, jam-packed full of facts that contradict the story.

  21. “I have a new theory about where the 2020 election is heading: if the Democratic Party candidate happens to lose, the party’s lawyers will unleash a blizzard of litigation in every voting district where the outcome was a couple of thousand ballots against them”

Recounts will be routine in close races … who is afraid of a recount?

The backdrop is a close race. I’m not convinced it will be close.

  22. The population of Millennials just passed the population of baby boomers who are in precipitous demographic decline.

My guess is they are going to be the decisive swing vote in this election, and it will go to the democrats.

    • BackRowHeckler September 23, 2019 at 1:59 pm #

Sure, as if your Millennials, so called, are not going to grow more conservative as they get older.

      • “… Conservatives probably shouldn’t be too worried about their support base thinning out and being replaced by younger, less conservative generations. If history repeats itself, then as people get older they will turn to the Conservatives. Our evidence suggests that this is probably not due to “social ageing” (getting married, having children or an increasing income), but rather to the direct psychological processes of ageing that tend to make people more resistant to change. This, in turn, makes people gravitate towards parties that defend the status quo.” – The Guardian

Well put, but I don’t take that as proof of the general theory. Futurism isn’t well served by conventional wisdom. First and foremost, conditions change. Finca seems to believe in a world of nuclear fallout. Assuming world leaders aren’t so crazy, and millennials flip the political calculus in the next 5-10 years, and massive shifts in technology and lifestyle occur, the very meaning of “conservative” could shift so radically by, say, 2069, when today’s newly voting 18 year olds are 68, that the statement could be true then and now.

A “conservative” in 2069 would be carbon neutral- in fact everyone will be because externalities are all priced in by then. They would be decades long recipients of UBI which will change the nature of work, which will all become volitional rather than necessary. They would also be expecting to live to 2119 as life expectancy shot up radically. The whole nature of global commerce and trade would different- in the sense that there won’t be. Goods are produced locally via 3-d printing on demand, and recycling is essentially perfect. Life as an American (1 of 500 million) will be pretty good. The world won’t be on the Dollar as reserve currency, but a global e-currency. Computers will basically have souls and personalities, and cybernetically enhanced people will be walking around. Some of the boomers today will still be alive and pushing 120.

Wealth will rise globally and the basic market structure will still be in place. The less precise picture of social features is less distinct, but in general the overall tectonic shifts in lifestyle will transform value scales and behaviors in ways hard to quantify. For example, LGBTQI+ won’t be a preoccupation of anybody.

Politically the republicans and democrats will probably not exist, or perhaps become a different platform under the same name. They will fragment and be replaced by coalitions, but eventually, I have no doubt, we will elect and be ruled by artificial intelligence. To be conservative in today’s terms… in that future scenario? What exactly does that mean?

The Amish will be practicing the same lifestyle they always have. Those are, to my mind, the only real conservatives. Call them the “baseline” conservatives, at the very end of the right hand quadrant. Everyone else has been goose-stepping to the left. Maybe they shuffle rightward, after tap-dancing to the left. Either way its clear that by this model the terms of art are just nomenclature used by a bipolar electorate. From the Amish perspective it is like two identical twins insisting of the difference between split hairs.

By the way, you mentioned in your post to me about Michael Mann that The lawsuit was in Canada since the man, Tim Ball who called Mann out, resides there. Mr. Ball won and the judge ordered Mann to pay all court costs..

Mr Ball did not win. The defamation case was never judged and was dismissed, due to delays, at the request of Ball, who was indeed awarded costs as a result of the delay.

I am well aware of the Hockey Stick Controversy from the time – it was an interesting illustration of attempts to discredit climate scientists. You will find, if you look, that the Hockey Stick graph has been totally validated since by studies using different methods.

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_E._Mann

More than two dozen reconstructions, using various statistical methods and combinations of proxy records, support the broad consensus shown in the original hockey stick graph, with variations in how flat the pre-20th century “shaft” appears.”

There is an entire article on the subject in Wikipedia, under ‘Hockey Stick Controversy’, where you will find that Michael Mann was entirely vindicated and his results repeated multiple times by other researchers, which is the mark of good science.

I’m surprised you would expect the democrats to be the ones to protest a close but losing election as due to rigging. Afterall the democrats have lost two very close elections (George W. and Hillary) even while winning the popular vote, yet without trying to negate the election. But Trump routinely says almost everything is rigged against him unless he wins, and dismisses any poles against him as fake news. Based on that I would say there’s a high probability Trump would be the one to fight an election result that shows him losing.

Well I sincerely hope that is ‘not’, sophia. I hope you have years in front of you.

It’s interesting, the issue you bring up about the view of women promoted by traditional Christian theology. We’re obviously coming at it from a different place, but still.

I looked further into the ritual cleansing issue (‘churching’ of women), since it was just something I heard mentioned when I was a teenager (we weren’t Anglicans and my mother heard it referred to quite routinely by an Anglican friend and found the notion offensive.

SSL thinks this aberration must have been introduced by fallible humans and that we should therefore go back to The Word for the truth. So I did, and there it was.

      Leviticus 12

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days…

4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.

5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks…, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

I’ll leave out all the bits about burnt offerings of lamb, turtle dove, pigeon or whatever was available or could be afforded in order to ritually cleanse the poor woman from the abomination of bleeding all over the place to produce a boy (bad) or a girl (twice as bad!), but it should be noted that even if someone very pure (Mary) were to produce the saviour of mankind without the involvement of her husband and any of that awful sexual stuff, that still made her unclean.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presentation_of_Jesus_at_the_Temple

“According to the gospel, Mary and Joseph took the Infant Jesus to the Temple in Jerusalem forty days (inclusive) after his birth to complete Mary’s ritual purification after childbirth…”

As has been pointed out already, the books of the Bible were written by men, in the context of the cultures of the time. And men did seem, until very recent times, to have a problem getting their heads round female biology. Hence ‘unclean’.

Many people manage to consider themselves Christian without blindly believing everything in the Bible is literal truth, i.e. by accepting it was written by those fallible humans (men, more precisely) to whom SSL refers. It seems to cause fewer problems generally when they are able to do that.

      • GreenAlba September 23, 2019 at 9:36 pm #

Having said that, there’s a heck of a lot of ‘unclean’ in Leviticus!

      • sophia September 23, 2019 at 10:49 pm #

        Green Alba,

Who is SSL? Oh, you mean Soft Star Light.
The church I grew up in and stayed in until past age 30, the Eastern Orthodox, still follows that churching custom, although I don’t recall them elongating it for girls.
This is a very deep issue. I don’t take it at face value. I think the rule was in part to give women a rest. It protects them from infection from a husband who won’t stay away and let her heal. Making things taboo is a lot more effective than saying it would be really nice to give her 6 weeks.
Certainly they had kind of an obsession with blood. Lots of modern Prots do as well. They speak of the cleansing blood of Jesus all the time. Leaves me cold. Never understood it.
Menstrual blood is unclean yet it is the only source of rabbis…menstrual blood does not clot. If Jesus is the son of God, then Mary’s menstrual blood (which was never shed as she conceived) is the most sacred substance ever to exist.

Other than the Orthodox Church, I didn’t know other churches kept this. Many people think the old covenant is largely changed.

          Sophia

“Who is SSL? Oh, you mean Soft Star Light.”

As you say (and as many others say), just as they use ‘GA’.

“although I don’t recall them elongating it for girls.
This is a very deep issue. I don’t take it at face value. I think the rule was in part to give women a rest. It protects them from infection from a husband who won’t stay away and let her heal.”

Yes, that would be a tempting interpretation (like the suggestion that pork was out of order because it was known to be full of parasites) but the notion that you’re twice as unclean if you’ve had a female baby rather gives the lie to that interpretation.

And in a sensible society, the woman should just be able to say ‘give me a break, Jo, me old lad, I’ve just had a baby, or hadn’t you noticed?’.

So I tend to think it probably grew out of the (negative) obsession with blood and sex. Both being something you should be wary of (back then), and both requiring cleaning up after (purification).

          And menstrual blood certainly clots.

I’m afraid the rabbi reference went right over my head! As did the bit about Mary’s menstrual blood being sacred. It was just bits of uterus lining and an unfertilised ovum, plus normal blood, like everyone else’s.

“Making things taboo is a lot more effective than saying it would be really nice to give her 6 weeks.”

So wouldn’t it be nice if people took things less literally in a whole lot of scriptural contexts, likewise?!

“Many people think the old covenant is largely changed.”

Indeed, yet many others will still spout the Old Testament if it backs up their prejudices.

          • GreenAlba September 25, 2019 at 1:01 pm #

Also the fact that women weren’t allowed to touch anything sacred is more evidence that it wasn’t just about giving her a rest. Similar ideas pertain in some third world countries to this day, with girls who have never had babies at all being banished from the living quarters of the rest of the family (and school) while menstruating.

            Old ignorances die hard.

          • sophia September 26, 2019 at 12:04 am #

You’re overly optimistic (unrealistic) when you think that all women should just say no. And it isn’t necessarily that the woman is coerced. People often cave into temptation. I’m afraid a taboo works much better. Jehovah was practical.

But it is true that various cultures have quite a menstruation taboo as well. Again, it would be fantastic to have 5 days off every month. So it cuts both ways. Of course, when you’re young and strong and healthy, it might be a bore. But its woman time. I’m getting more and more not to like the sameness that our culture thinks is proper for the sexes. We aren’t the same. I was so tired of having to conform to a male schedule in which you feel strong every day. Women don’t feel strong every day. You take your drugs and you go to work even though your legs ache and perhaps you have cramps and a headache. And all of it a strain on your body because women don’t have steady energy – they have intermittent energy.

          • GreenAlba September 26, 2019 at 11:58 am #

            “You’re overly optimistic (unrealistic) ”

            Or just half kidding, even…

Your last paragraph is a bit over-generalising, I fear.

Women don’t all react the same to either menstruation or the menopause. I’ve known some who were in agony for two weeks every month, whereas I was absolutely fine my whole life. Same with the menopause, which I sailed through unaffected, as did my mother.

There’s no need to pathologise menstruation unless it’s actually doing girls harm. Keeping them out of school and/or forcing them to sleep in the shed are both harmful. Yet they happen. And they’re categorically not being done for the welfare of the girls.

…because a MALE wrote the story, MD.

      • sophia September 23, 2019 at 10:58 pm #

Because while I do love scripture in a way, I do not believe it is the consistent work of one entity. In other words, I think men wrote some of it, altered some of it, and mistranslated some of it.
I mean, biologically, the female is the primary gender. It isn’t really a matter of opinion.
But more pertinent to me, is the simple fact as I laid out, that the meaning of female is she who gives birth. There is no other meaning or purpose to having the female gender.
In Hinduism, their various female saints are always given some name that is a variation of her being a manifestation of the divine mother. But male saints are given all sorts of names that might reflect their major talent. Adam named his wife “life” to honor her as the mother of all the living.
If God does not have gender, why is he considered male? Why do we have a father without a mother? Is this not a reversal of everything we know about life?
But answer this: Where is the female divine?
And what does it mean if it is absent?

As to the rib, there are a couple of possibilities, but one is that it was simply a coup to render women subject to the male beyond what nature would prescribe. In other words, the story is backwards. It seems kind of strained to have a male god give birth to creation and then have a male human give birth to his wife.

I can see this issue is very far from what most of you have contemplated.

          • JohnAZ September 26, 2019 at 8:08 pm #

“He” is considered male because Jesus called him Father.

I do not know if Jews consider Yahweh male or female.

Humans cannot visualize the spiritual world. When God came to earth visiting and teaching, in the form of Jesus, He was using a medium that people, some people could understand. He identified the “Kingdom”, but did not go into much detail. Two gospel descriptions of Jesus’ contact with the spiritual world was the Transfiguration and the Ascension, both poorly described by the Gospel story tellers. Want a close approximation, Google mirror universes.

We cannot and should not limit God to one sex, or human form or any limitation with human boundaries. He is there, period.

Yahweh, I Am. That says it. He is everywhere and everything.

        • JohnAZ September 26, 2019 at 8:18 pm #

The Catholic Church dealt with this with the apotheosis of Mary, the Mother of Jesus. A million years of watching human beings popping out of female bodies made the Mother figure divine all over the world. It is the great miracle of creation, over and over again. A human body, about 3 trillion cells, formed from a single cell is just as much of a miracle as the Big Bang. And women have the privilege of producing the new life, and men have the privilege of starting the process. Both sides divine in their creative power, and both together representing the power of God.

Quit arguing, we are all important.

          • sophia September 26, 2019 at 8:44 pm #

What you say is true, but what I am trying to get across is that something is wrong. Instead of defending, think of what I am saying. We have 3 persons of the trinity, all male. This means there is no feminine divine, which means femininity is derivative and not primary. I don’t mean primary over the male, I mean it is not a primary reality. The male is represented 3 times and the female zero.
Is it possible that men have sinned?

          • elysianfield September 27, 2019 at 10:44 am #

“Is it possible that men have sinned?”

            Sophia,
Who knows? But it is entirely possible that you are overthinking this.

Consider the story of the three little pigs. If you parse it closely, it becomes apparent that the Big Bad Wolf could never blow down a house of straw and wattle…. Tests have shown….

      • GreenAlba September 25, 2019 at 12:30 pm #

“Why then did not the Creator begin a female, and take a rib out of her to make a male?’

Because it’s a mythical creation story, written by men a long time ago to make sense of something they had no clue about, and both women and men evolved from apes, not ribs. Most Christians in advanced countries are able to cope with this and remain Christian. Likewise most of them no longer believe that a creator made the universe (or even just the earth) in six days. But in America you’ll still find a good number who still believe things you’re more likely to find believed in places like Uganda, whose inhabitants those Americans tend otherwise to look down on.

There are many other mythical creation stories. Some are much weirder. You can take them all for what they are and still remain a viable Christian.

        • sophia September 26, 2019 at 12:07 am #

I do not agree. They may not have known much back then, but they did know that females gave birth and pretty much all religions had goddesses.

Nice try but not true. I have a lack of religious belief, which is not the same thing. Like not having breast cancer wouldn’t mean I had some other kind of cancer. It would just mean I didn’t have breast cancer.

But I’m not arguing with you if you think they just devalued the feminine by saying e.g. women were unclean after childbirth (or even today in some places that girls are unclean during menstruation) but really it was a kind move to give women peace for a few weeks (or a few weeks more if they had a girl baby, which must therefore have been so much more exhausting).

Their motives were whatever they were – I am not defending them or assuming I know them. Also I’m not entirely clear what you’re not agreeing with – that the story is a myth, that you can believe that and still consider yourself Christian (I didn’t have a problem with that, nor seemingly do Christians on here who accept it’s just a myth), or something else.

“he unexpected consequence will be the suicide of the Democratic Party.” Hahahahaha They did that a long time ago!

Democratic Party was once the party of Big Labor –Big labor no longer exists

Republican Party was once the party of Main Street – Main Street no longer exists

Republican party + Democratic Party = Wall Street Party = TBTF Bankers Party = Transnational Corporate Party = MIICC Party = ZIRP Party = Endless War Party

Joe Biden, who has never had a job outside of government is worth 50+ million. Same thing goes for Pelosi, McConnell, etal. But, geesh I vote for them because they say they care about me! What fools we are!

In other news, always endeavouring to keep us safe in our warm little beds, our fearless drone pilots, on orders from some intelligence agency, killed 30 pine nut farmers in Afghanistan. At least they didn’t attack a school bus, children’s soccer game, a wedding celebration or a tribal elder meeting this time.Just got to keep that MIICC going, huh!

A section of Trump,s vaunted $3 billion, $4 million a mile wall on the southern borderwas just completed. Subsequently, two Mexican teenage girls climbed to the top in 15 seconds. I guess the Mexicans consider the wall to be a recreational outdoor climbing gym. At least, it will be good for something. BTW, they have no desire to come here. The USA is too dangerous for them and why do all the dirty work for shit wages with no healthcare or other benefits and be subject to racist attacks.
Mexico and Central America would probably have less problems if not for America’s insatiable derelict drug habit and the intrusions of our intelligence agencies trying spread DEMOCRACY!

Her indifference to what were then considered the “wifely” duties of housekeeping—at least overseeing from a distance the cooking and the disciplined child rearing—was a constant source of annoyance to her husband, though he mostly disguised his disapproval with rather forced good humor. Don’t you think that it’s Wrong that Comedians are barred from the Pages of History? Socrates once said that “Comedy is the Art of Making Fun of Inferior People.” During the Middle Ages, didn’t the “Lord” have a “Court Jester” to amuse him between wars, torture sessions, screwing his numerous concubines, Machiavellian intriguing, and public executions? Why is that? What gives? How come there was never a Court Comedian in the Emperor’s Court in China, just a bunch of sour, angry, frustrated and corrupt eunuchs?

Anybody else see Greta Thunberg’s appearance at the UN today? Much drama, but also a good bit of hysteria too. This poor kid has been robbed of her youth; an aura of joblessness surrounds her.

Watching her, yes, it’s clear she’s on the autism spectrum, but there might be a touch of mental illness here as well. She’s being used by some powerful people, and her parents are letting it happen, even perhaps abetting it. Who knows maybe they’re angling for the Nobel Peace payout, about $2 million I believe.

Yep I saw a part of it. I’m sure the delegates from the Chinese fascist state, the Saudi monarchy, and a number of aspiring industrial African states, amongst others– will be moved to action by Greta Thunberg’s threat that she “will never forgive them” if they continue their inaction.

      • I felt similarly about many world leaders when I was 16.

        Guess what?

All of them are dead today.

Is that a function of time? Partly.

If a world leader wants to tell a pissed off 16 year old they don’t care if she hates them, they risk death pure and simple, because no one pounds the podium at the United Nations but a force to be reckoned with.

The force of a singular human being is being demonstrated here.

At the beginning of this year Cory Morningstar researched and wrote a six part expose’ on Greta Thunberg. More importantly she exposed who and what is behind her and what their intentions are. Make no mistake about this, Morningstar is not politically on the Right. And she is an environmentalist and does believe in climate change. But she’s intuitive and intelligent enough to smell a rat behind this Greta phenomenon and that there are very definite vested interests who in reality care more about the green of money rather than the “green” of Earth….

    http://www.wrongkindofgreen.org/2019/01/17/the-manufacturing-of-greta-thunberg-for-consent-the-political-economy-of-the-non-profit-industrial-complex/

I’m going to paste a synopsis of each of the sections, or Acts, of this paper:

In ACT I, I disclose that Greta Thunberg, the current child prodigy and face of the youth movement to combat climate change, serves as special youth advisor and trustee to the burgeoning mainstream tech start-up, We Don’t Have Time. I then explore the ambitions behind the tech company We Don’t Have Time.

In ACT II, I illustrate how today’s youth are the sacrificial lambs for the ruling elite. Also in this act I introduce the board members of and advisors to We Don’t Have Time. I explore the leadership in the nascent We Don’t Have Time and the partnerships between the well-established corporate environmental entities: Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, 350.org, Avaaz, Global Utmaning (Global Challenge), the World Bank, and the World Economic Forum (WEF).

In ACT III, I deconstruct how Al Gore and the planet’s most powerful capitalists are behind today’s manufactured youth movements and why. I explore the We Don’t Have Time/Thunberg connections to Our Revolution, the Sanders Institute, This Is Zero Hour, the Sunrise Movement and the Green New Deal. I also touch upon Thunberg’s famous family. In particular, Thunberg’s celebrity mother, Malena Ernman (WWF Environmental Hero of the Year 2017) and her August 2018 book launch. I then explore the generous media attention afforded to Thunberg in both May and April of 2018 by SvD, one of Sweden’s largest newspapers.

In ACT IV, I examine the current campaign, now unfolding, in “leading the public into emergency mode”. More importantly, I summarize who and what this mode is to serve.

In ACT V, I take a closer look at the Green New Deal. I explore Data for Progress and the targeting of female youth as a key “femographic”. I connect the primary architect and authors of the “Green New Deal” data to the World Resources Institute. From there, I walk you through the interlocking Business & Sustainable Development Commission, the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate and the New Climate Economy – a project of the World Resources Institute. I disclose the common thread between these groups and the assignment of money to nature, represented by the Natural Capital Coalition and the non-profit industrial complex as an entity. Finally, I reveal how this has culminated in the implementation of payments for ecosystem services (the financialization and privatization of nature, global in scale) which is “expected to be adopted during the fifteenth meeting in Beijing in 2020.”

In the final act, ACT VI [Crescendo], I wrap up the series by divulging that the very foundations which have financed the climate “movement” over the past decade are the same foundations now partnered with the Climate Finance Partnership looking to unlock 100 trillion dollars from pension funds. I reveal the identities of individuals and groups at the helm of this interlocking matrix, controlling both the medium and the message. I take a step back in time to briefly demonstrate the ten years of strategic social engineering that have brought us to this very precipice. I look at the relationship between WWF, Stockholm Institute and World Resources Institute as key instruments in the creation of the financialization of nature. I also take a look at the first public campaigns for the financialization of nature (“natural capital”) that are slowly being brought into the public realm by WWF. I reflect upon how mainstream NGOs are attempting to safeguard their influence and further manipulate the populace by going underground through Extinction Rebellion groups being organized in the US and across the world.

With the smoke now cleared, the weak and essentially non-existent demands reminiscent of the 2009 TckTckTck “demands” can now be fully understood.

Some of these topics, in addition to others, will be released and discussed in further detail as addenda built on the large volume of research. This includes stepping through the looking glass, with an exploration of what the real “Green New Deal” under the Fourth Industrial Revolution will look like. Also forthcoming is a look at the power of celebrity – and how it has become a key tool for both capital and conformity.

Here is another link to get all six Acts for those interested in going down this rabbit hole:

This is for Green Alba……The actual judgement in the Michael Mann v. Tim Ball court case.

This is far more accurate than Wikipedia or Mann’s Twitter postings on what really happened. You know, because he lies a lot.

        https://www.bccourts.ca/jdb-txt/sc/19/15/2019BCSC1580.htm

Read all about how it was Mann who did all the delaying. Almost a whole decade’s worth.

Of course it was Mann’s representatives who did the delaying – that’s why Ball was paid costs. So why did you say he won the case if you knew he didn’t?

Did you check out the climate denial outfit called the ‘Frontier Centre for Public Policy’ that was involved in this farce?

“In 2011 the Frontier Centre for Public Policy think tank interviewed Tim Ball and published his allegations about Mann and the CRU email controversy. Mann promptly sued for defamation.”

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frontier_Centre_for_Public_Policy

“In 2011 and 2012 the Frontier Centre put on its website and in letters allegations made by Timothy Ball against climate scientist Michael E. Mann, who issued a lawsuit. In June 2019 the Frontier Centre apologised for publishing “untrue and disparaging accusations which impugned the character of Dr. Mann.” It said that Mann had “graciously accepted our apology and retraction”.”

          I hope we’re done now.

Author Naomi Kline has a new book out, she saying what I’ve heard other experts say the past week, that switching from fossil fuels to renewables will be easy, we just need the political will and courage to stand up to billionaires.

Kline was on PBS, nobody was asking her any tough questions. How easy will it be? One strange point in the interview is she was equating oil companies with White Supremacy. There are some tech people on this board, I ask you, is it simply a matter of unplugging fossil fuels, and plugging in wind and solar, to power up the United States? Apparently, according to many in the climate change movement, it’ll be pretty easy you just have to block traffic like demonstrators in DC did today.

            Brh

          • cc rider September 24, 2019 at 7:18 am #

“Of course it was Mann’s representatives who did the delaying…” What? Does Mann not have any control over his “representatives” at all?

Okay, look, why did Michael Mann sue Tim Ball in the first place? Because Ball publicly refuted Mann’s infamous hockey stick graph as being based on fraudulent science. What really seemed to spur Mann to file suit was when Ball one time joked that Mann should be in the state pen rather than at Penn State.

So essentially what this was all about was the hockey stick. Ball said it’s nonsense. Mann sued to make him retract and apologize. Ball said “No, show how you came up with the data to support the hockey stick”. Mann refused and delayed.

“Michael Mann moved for an adjournment of the trial scheduled for February 20, 2017. We had little choice because Canadian courts always grant adjournments before a trial in their belief that an out of court settlement is preferable. We agreed to an adjournment with conditions. The major one was that he [Mann] produce all documents including computer codes by February 20th, 2017. He failed to meet the deadline.” –Tim Ball

Even Rational Wiki, which is far from being pro-Tim Ball, has this about the recent Canadian court outcome:

“In September 2019, the Supreme Court of British Columbia dismissed the the suit against Ball by Micheal Mann and condemned Mann to pay for Ball’s legal costs after Mann was found in contempt of court for refusing to provide the original data behind his famous hockey stick graph.”

            https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Tim_Ball

I stand by my statement that Mann lost this case. But I should’ve been more precise in saying that his hockey stick nonsense lost this case because Mann had the opportunity to put up or slink away. He chose to slink away. If he’s so right about his science then he would’ve beat Tim Ball to a bloody pulp in court for all the world to see. Nope.

It’s interesting why Mann chose to sue Ball out of all the other scientists who have called into serious questing his hockey stick hokum. And there have been plenty.

Anyway, Mann is obviously opposed to free speech and real scientific debate. He has filed not a few lawsuits to shut people up who disagree with him. Even the ACLU joined an amicus brief opposing Mann’s tactics to squash debate and speech via legal tactics.

The actual brief, not an article:

            https://cei.org/sites/default/files/Reporters%20Committee%20et%20al.%20letter%20on%20rehearing%20en%20banc.pdf

Note that even NBC, the Washington Post, and TIME Magazine joined in with the ACLU and 22 others in this amicus filing.

All Mann has to do is show his work. You know like what you probably had to do when taking math tests in school.

Yep. Show his work. Prove his hockey stick. But he prefers to bully people in court and then delay, delay, delay, ad infinitum….

            Nice guy.

          • GreenAlba September 25, 2019 at 12:19 pm #

cc – I don’t care about Michael Mann as a person. I only just saw his face for the first time the other day when responding to your post, although I well recall the controversy. I note mostly that his hockey stick graph results have been reproduced and reproduced and reproduced and reproduced and reproduced and reproduced and again reproduced…by other climate scientists.

            Which is the point.

          • cc rider September 26, 2019 at 9:32 am #

Yes GA it is about the hockey stick. That’s why I said this is the issue that essentially lost the court case because Mann refused to show how he came up with it.

And many scientists have called the hockey stick graph “hokum”, “fraudulent”, and “junk”. That’s because he purposefully did away with a couple of past dramatic warming periods to make it look like a hockey stick. Warming periods in which CO2 wasn’t as high as it is now. One of those periods being the 30s and early 40s. There are newspaper clippings from those days talking about the warming planet and sea ice decline.

But, you’re gonna choose to believe what you want to believe. I used to believe the same thing. I used to think Mann’s hockey stick graph was genuine. I used to think that CO2 above 350ppm puts us in a “climate emergency”. That was until I found out what the true science says about this.

          • TPTB-USA September 26, 2019 at 10:05 am #

“But the climate is part of the environment and there’s just no way round that. Where my in-laws live in Stony Point, NY, all their previous neighbours in their part of the road along the Hudson have had their houses condemned. Theirs is still standing where it’s been since 1834 but they’re going to have to raise it on stilts if they ever want to get flood insurance in future. They’ve always had floods and storm surges but these are quantitatively different floods and storm surges.” GreenAlba

So, you agree that it is OK for you to speculate, but your position is that it is not OK for anyone that doesn’t agree with what you have decided is “the best evidence” to challenge “the best evidence”. “The end justifies the means.”

Kind of like where the democrats are at where it is OK for them to do back room deals, but unless one has received approval from the anointed, they are not allowed to do the same.

          • GreenAlba September 26, 2019 at 11:26 am #

“But, you’re gonna choose to believe what you want to believe. I used to believe the same thing. I used to think Mann’s hockey stick graph was genuine. I used to think that CO2 above 350ppm puts us in a “climate emergency”. That was until I found out what the true science says about this.”

Nope. My following of the science doesn’t depend on Michael Mann, thankfully. Or the hockey stick. But it’s interesting that the hockey stick worries you so much because if you deny the hockey stick, you have even more to worry about.

            https://skepticalscience.com/Do-critics-of-the-hockey-stick-realise-what-theyre-arguing-for.html

            🙂

I have no axe to grind. No investments. Nothing depending on the truth one way or the other. Since there’s a 30-40-year lag in the introduction of extra CO2 to the atmosphere and the manifestation of resulting global warming, I’ll be dead before any additional CO2 from today makes any difference to anything.

So I’m just watching. And reading. And seeing comments on here from otherwise intelligent people makes me realise it’s a good thing I won’t be here. But my kids will and my grandchild, and other people’s children and grandchildren, so I’ll continue to take an interest.

          • GreenAlba September 26, 2019 at 11:39 am #

Nope. Not at all. You can speculate all you like. And you can produce as much actual counter-evidence as you want. But I’m telling you that even a tiny increase in sea level will result in much more serious storm surges. Multiply the tiny increase in sea level by the square mileage of the water that’s whacking your coast and your oil refineries – it’s geometry for 10-year-olds. You can argue against it if you want to and speculate all you like.

But I promise to read your scientific papers even if they’re not peer reviewed.

And I’m nowhere near the Democrats. You’ll notice I didn’t specify any solutions because I like to wait until I’ve seen the likely results of the solutions thought through before I consider them actual solutions (e.g. hydropower is generally great but I’m aware you get more methane-producing algae in the water held back by the dam and it’s almost 30 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2 – nature’s a bugger – so you need to do the sums).

But I’d respect people more if they just accepted the overwhelming message of the science but moaned about the proposed solutions, instead of arguing with the science when they don’t have any actual evidence to do so.

If you’re told you have a glioblastoma, as the husband of a friend of mine was, you know you’ve got a year, slightly more or slightly less. And you can choose what you do with that – you can ‘throw everything at it’, spend half your year miserable with chemotherapy, or you can just enjoy your year or slightly less and go for excellent palliative care. But denying you’ve got a glioblastoma or that glioblastoma kills people is a waste of your intelligence and your time.

          • cc rider September 26, 2019 at 4:47 pm #

            Hello GreenAlba,

Am I reading that right, that you blame the high water on AGW? Isn’t that speculation?

            “… it’s geometry for 10-year-olds.”
This seems typical of your go to site, and your SMO. You have an agenda where you are going to take what you have decided is “the best evidence”, and defend it in any manner (The end justifies the means). If you can not outright dismiss the information, then you send the questioner on a fishing expedition, and if that doesn’t work, then you try and assassinate the scientist, and if that doesn’t work, then you assassinate the messenger.

“A couple of people from Finland and a couple of people from Japan write a paper and some outfit called ‘Armstrong Economics’ says ‘Finland and Japan confirm global warming data is not supported’.

Thanks for the laugh – the book I’m reading is quite serious so you’ve cheered me up no end.”

100 Scientists could all be in agreement, but all it would take would be 1 to prove them all wrong. In fact, it wouldn’t even take a scientist.

“But the climate is part of the environment and there’s just no way round that.”
What is the meaning of a statement like this? Isn’t this the type of thing you chide others for doing?

From my perspective, you are not here to promote discussion of the issues, you are here to impose your agenda.

Through out history pressure groups have used violence and children to achieve goals deemed unpopular.

      Hitler youth.
      Maos youth brigade.
Had a friend point out Obama all but helped Antifa coalesce while he created his youth brigade. Once that plan was exposed it withered on the vine and died but a couple of years later out pops the turd that is Antifa. I had not made that connection but it makes sense as to where all the angry idiots in Antifa came from.

Now we have the nasty mean spirited anti western movement morphing into destroy modern civilization by killing the goose that laid the golden egg of cheap easy power. I suspect all these idiots don’t realize with the loss of fossil fuels so goes their precious mind numbing un-smart phones, computers and Netflix!
So called green energy is not fit to power our grid It simply can’t even the massive solar station near LAs Vegas uses an insane amount of natural gas to create electricity and no amount of batteries can power even Las Vegas. So where does that leave us?
Back to square one using trees to heat our homes 4th world technology freezing in the winter and sweating our asses of in the summer.
The modern generation can’t even handle going to school anymore without climate control and they are now demanding we take that away from them.

Mean while we hear this nonsense that the oceans will rise a foot year in the next 12 years.
I tell you folks I have surfed over forty years and that water is in the exact same spot at extreme low tides and extreme high tides.

We have photographic proof of where the water is as far back as the early 1900’s showing when pch was actually a wooden road and world famous surfing point Rincon is in the back ground minus the houses but the water is identical to modern day photos.

So we now know someone is lying and the question is why and why are so many people invested in the cult of climate doom?

Just so you know, it is not the Democrats job to impeach. It is Congress ‘s job.
Why have not the Republicans in Congress considered doing their job?

    • cc rider September 23, 2019 at 9:16 pm #

I guess it is the same reason why Democrats wouldn’t impeach Bill Clinton. Here’s a little clue for ya……Impeachment is largely a political process. Not a legal one. So it is often the case that the Party of the President is not going to be gung ho to impeach.

And even though at the time I was about as anti-Clinton as they came in the 90s, I was against impeaching him. And it did backfire on the GOP. His approval ratings went up after the impeachment. If he could’ve run in 2000 he would’ve won. But the Dems want to make the same political mistake.

Challenge Beto to an early 19th Century duel.

Apparently, there used to be an island in the middle of the Mississippi River next to St. Louis (before it was dredged by Robert E. Lee and the Army Corps of Engineers) where they used to go to duel. According to the book on Andrew Jackson, the dueling pistols had a smooth bore, and shot a small caliber, low velocity lead ball. In other words, low penetration and high likelihood that the target would survive unless an artery or vital organ was hit. Accordingly, one common dueling strategy is to let the other bloke take the first shot. I’d let Beto take the first shot, and then counter with a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with buckshot.

Their resistance to conformity, racism, militarism, the commodification of nature, and blind, rapacious consumerism, presents the greatest challenge to a hegemony which cannot expunge the reality of its destructive nature. It can no longer hide the carnage.”

Many of the more erudite Southerners, like Robert E. Lee castigated Slavery because of its pernicious effects upon White People, invoking a generalized lassitude, particularly in White Women who relied upon black servants to do the cleaning, cooking, and taking care of the kids. The white women seemed to be knocked up all the time by their whiskey-drinking husbands.

Sophia: We are all in death in any case. Use your reprieve to read yourself for the Great Adventure.

The Dalai Lama said that an experiment was done at some point, not sure when, to give women equal training and that it didn’t work out too well. Sorry, don’t know the exacts.

Ancient adage: Adore the Feminine, beware the Female. One argues downwards, not upwards. As above, so below not as below so above. Most of the Divinity is lost at this level – obviously! Or do you think Women are great like the Feminists think they are? Women often have great commonsense – for example being better drivers than men. Or shopping for value, etc. But somehow it just doesn’t translate into politics. There, their commonsense gets overwhelmed by fanatical idealism and sentimentality. One of the mysteries of the fallen nature.

Of course, women could say the same thing: Adore the Masculine, beware the Male. Some take this point of view (see C.S Lewis on holy feminine virginity), but it doesn’t seem to be as important somehow for the most part. As you said, men are the great lovers not women. Score another point for men. Tantra does seem written from the male point of view in this sense, but feminine Tantrikas are comfortable with it. They embody the Goddess and get worshiped not vice versa. Wicca follows this. A path I admit, though imbalanced. Read a great warning for young Priestesses once: Remember, he (the Priest) is projecting his energy onto you. By all means use it to become closer to that Ideal. And of course enjoying it is part of it. But never forget, it is his energy – and he can withdraw it at any time if you aren’t worthy of it or you abuse it.

The Old South thought the same way: Women were put on pedestals but it wasn’t a blank check like it is now. They had to live up to what they were being credited with. If not, they were knocked off the pedestal.

    • sophia September 24, 2019 at 11:54 am #

Is the Great Adventure a book or do you mean the Baghavad Gita?
Alas, women do not seem to be particularly great. It is a tough subject – wherein lies the greatness of women? When comparing them side by side, men’s achievements stand out, and I don’t buy the feminist arguments that it is all the fault of men. No, it is that women are not interested and tend not to have the fortitude (or idiocy) to sustain efforts on a focused goal. If it were up to women, we might have invented the canoe by now. Why didn’t all those leisured women in harems invent writing or algebra? Well, it is possible they did invent writing. It’s probably been invented a number of times.People now swallow the notion that the difference in play between boys and girls is ‘imposed’ by cultural norms. On the contrary, it is the tendency of the majority of people to fall within their gender norms that gives rise to the subsequent cultural expectations.

I think now that women’s greatness is probably very different than men’s and not easy to discern. It may also come later in life. I don’t have the answer but have a glimmer. I think that men are more talented at focused intent but women have a higher philosophical wisdom that takes longer to ‘come together.’ It is a complex achievement and more subtle. It most often takes the form of holding out judgment for the reason of having an intuitive sense that there is more to the topic that is unknown or that the topic is highly complex. Fewer women seem to fall for atheism.

I don’t generally buy the feminist complaints that it is all men’s fault, but I do note, even here on this blog, a quick tendency to squelch the idea of women having any greatness. Those few women who have indeed made achievements often have them taken away or appropriated. It is almost a knee-jerk response. It seems astonishing to me, but obviously there is anxiety. It’s understandable. If males cannot outshine females they are sunk. If they cannot stand out as “Not Female” the they are sunk. And this is why God or nature gave us differing talents. There is plenty of room for men to outshine women, and they do. But yet, even what little they have is taken away.
There is some sort of problem here. What is its origin?
I wonder if history moves in some sort of cycle with one gender predominating for an age and then the other.
For some reason the Old testament writers felt the need to usurp the one and main role of women. They removed any goddesses and priestesses. But there used to be female priestesses around the globe and it was not in just one place that the religious role of women was taken away. I don’t know how to account for this.
Maybe JHK is right. Maybe the men will stop tolerating the nonsense. The MGTOW guys say that women sometimes deliberately bait a man to see if he will stand up to them. I don’t play games like that but I can see it. Men, again, are in a tough spot, sorta like dogs. Dogs have to spend their entire lives making people believe he will attack and bite if needed, and yet never once make a mistake and bite someone they shouldn’t. Likewise, men are hard wired to make women happy and fix their complaints, yet who wants a milk toast that caves, esp when it is unreasonable to do so? Being a man is really tough!

      • messianicdruid September 24, 2019 at 1:22 pm #

A definition of false guilt: a man sees an unhappy woman and automatically assumes it is his fault.

        • sophia September 24, 2019 at 8:06 pm #

It was actually that book about men and women from mars and venus that brought to my attention the extent to which men assume responsibility for women’s problems and complaints.

I am now more careful with it, and often tell my husband that something or other isn’t his fault, I just want to complain about it. Or, I tell him that there is no hurry to fix something, just letting him know about it.

God, I love men. Women are so lucky. But we do need to manage them better. Unfortunately, we are no more up to the task of understanding how to manage in life than men are. Thus is youth wasted on the young.

          • JohnAZ September 26, 2019 at 8:36 pm #

Remember that for always women have managed the home front, produced and raised the kids while the men have gone out to get some food. Both critically needed. Women manage men by taking care of the place he comes home to and the availability of sex. Men manage the big picture of the home front, where it will live, the inter family politics, the government of the group, the heritage of the group.

            Both are needed.

One doesn’t even hear about hydrogen powered vehicles any longer since it’s pretty much been proven that they’re net energy losers. How about electric cars? One of the ‘demands’ last week is that EVs replace gasoline powered vehicles by 2030. Can it be done? It was a battle that was lost once before when the Pope Electric Car factory shut down in Hartford in 1920. The Pope was a good car, Teddy Roosevelt owned one. Interestingly enough its range was about what Tesla’s is now, among other things relling me that battery technology hasn’t changed much in the past century. Right now EVs account for about 2% of vehicles on the roads of America. Would it be possible then in the next 10 years to replace the other 98% of gasoline powered vehicles?

    Brh

    • JohnAZ September 24, 2019 at 11:38 am #

      BRH

Three things are directly in the way. The first and foremost is the price. Hybrids are $28-35000, gas sedans mid twenty’s and compacts $15-20000. So Tesla at $35-40000 is still not an Everyman vehicle and the Bolt and Leaf EV at around 30K are really affected by number two, convenience.

There are just not enough charging stations for convenient long distance trips. There was a documentary on Prime video about the trials and tribulations of two guys driving a Tesla from coast to coast.
The average Jill or John driver would find it impossible. The time it takes to recharge borders on inconvenient, 20 minutes for a partial and multiple hours for a full charge. Which leads to number three

The mileage between charging. Tesla is currently at 370 with extended batteries, which cost more. The less expensive cars go much less distance. And if you want to go uphill or turn your A/C on, you get less.

To replace the gas powered car, electrics must be priced near where a sedan costs, have short charging time and go what the average driver does in a day on the road, maybe 500 miles. Until the day when cost is a trade off and convenience is comparable, electric is going to stay at less than 5%.

Fighting electrics are the fossil fuels industry and the truck building industry. Powerful lobbies! The vroom vroom boys will never want the quiet of an electric car. So if short term conversion of the US to electric is necessary, it will have to be forced by law or by subsidizing the cost of the cars and the installation of electric chargers on every single overnight parking space in the country.

The number one voice championing electric is Elon Musk. He just announced a million mile lifetime Lithium battery for Tesla but has a long way to go to develop a car that is economically feasible.

One more issue, if the conversion of cars to electric drops the demand for oil below the economically feasible point for fracking, a trillion dollar industry make go right down the drain. What about all those other items we make with oil? Costs for plastics may go through the roof. All you Liberals that do not like higher consumer costs from tariffs have seen nothing yet compared to the institution of mandatory electric cars.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Where are we going to get the electrical generation capability to charge say 200 million cars. We cannot even handle the load today as witnessed by the blackout in NYC this summer.

Funny thing about capitalism, it ALWAYS finds the cheapest way of doing everything. So if electric cars become mandatory, get ready to get your wallet out.

        Interesting sidebar

Visited DC this last week. It really struck me, the difference in priorities between the East Coast and the flyover parts of the country. Mostly urbanization and demographics.

One example is electric cars. City folks use taxis, scooters, bikes, Uber to get around their environment. Electric cars themselves work better in urban environments. So folks in cities are more liable to not see the inconvenience of electric cars.

Another is the percentages of “ Brown and Black” folks in the East Coast cities. Plus, on the average, folks seem to coexist better. I believe segregated attitudes increase the further one travels from the urban environment. A look at the corridor from Boston to DC has urbanized so much. I would know as I was raised in Baltimore county. It is not a mystery why “racism” is reduced in the cities.

The West Coast is the same way, but different ethnic groups.

Cities versus suburbs and the rural areas, the real political schism of the country.

        • JohnAZ September 24, 2019 at 12:04 pm #

“Seem to get along better.” I saw a lot of really great And friendly Black folks, but saw a lot of nasty looks, attitude, from Blacks toward Whites. On the average though, not bad.

And no, not a lot of attitude by Whites, probably because they were tourists and businessmen going about their business and not paying a lot of attention.

          • Nightowl September 24, 2019 at 6:05 pm #

Racism is a major issue in DC. I lived in NE for a while, and was spared harassment as I befriended a local black kid who had a disability. He’d come by and help me wash my car every few weeks, and we’d usually chat for a while afterwards. His parents knew and I think word got around that I was “ok.”

Before that happened, I had a few issues with local gangs of kids. There are plenty of “no-go” areas in DC, where even the gentrifiers are not stupid enough to venture.

        • JohnAZ September 24, 2019 at 12:19 pm #

Saw a bunch of young CC protestors in DC. Thought to myself, here is a good example of the stupidification of the country. Those kids had no clue what they were there for, no solutions, no ideas for change. They are protesting just to make waves for their sponsors on the Left who also do not have a clue what to do relative to AGW.

Dems are going to lose big next year when the lunacy of their “ideas” becomes more apparent to the regular working folks.

AOC May have the only “solution” that could really change AGW, the GND. The apparent lunacy of her ideas show how far away we are from accepting the necessary changes. Besides, the only way to really cut back is not in the US, it is in other parts of the world like China. Greta, paddle your boat over to Beijing and see what they say.

You are obviously a very very advanced intellectual. What ear plugs do you use to keep your brain from falling out? (asking for a friend)

    • No. In fact there is no future for the current fleet. In the future you’ll summon the ride on demand. The vehicle will be driverless and electric and will l be manufactured by a major automaker.

Well, I’m exaggerating. Cars will remain a preoccupation of many, but with fuel costs roughly five times greater by end of decade there will be much less routine driving. The bulk of these taxes will have gone toward the rollout of the electrification effort.

All these features of life will be common. But for America and the world, a revival of sorts will be occuring in bicycling. These pedal assisted vehicles will begin appearing in greater numbers and configurations. Some will resemble cars. Many will be electrified.

      • JohnAZ September 24, 2019 at 12:05 pm #

No bikes with the over 65 crowd.

        • I thought about this, to understand why this would be possible here are the details

Self driving technology will extend to other vehicles not currently considered a platform for the technology.

For example the networking between autonomous vehicles will prevent collisions. Bikes would be taking to cars via small modules.

Of course bikes will rapidly begin to resemble cars with environmental protection, windshields, cabs, boots, etc. Things called “bikes” but having more than two wheels, pedals as a regulatory appendage, etc.

All the technology found in automobile sectors will be migrated to the new platform. The “power assist” will be adjustable to the degree where a frail 75 year old may only apply a slight pressure to the pedals when the electric motor supplies more than 99% of the power. People will understand these are essentially electric cars in diminutive form constructed from a bicycle architecture, and the whole pretense may be dropped. Advanced bicycles will self drive. The two wheelers will come with balance assistance.

But the fact is the commute will become very different. The roads will be safer with the NHTSA adopting universal traffic signaling and on road networking. You will be able to get in your bicycle and order Alexa to drive you to the Emergency Room.

Sophia: Meant to say “ready yourself for the Great Adventure (of Death) not read.

Women are terrible at Philosophy as such. They don’t like intellectual stuff for the most part. But sure, often great at intuition, and sometimes that combines with life experience and makes them thoughtful. The material is there for the rare woman who wants to put it together into something. I’m talking about Wisdom here (your name!) as were you I think, not “Philosophy” in the attenuated, modern sense.

Whatever the Dalai Lama says, the Buddha himself disparaged the feminine. But his attendant, Ananda, prevailed upon him to let women in since Buddha had to admit that they had Buddha nature, and could potentially realize it.

Reading a great book right now, “Great Disciples of the Buddha” by Nyanaponika Thera and Helmuth Hecker. There’s a small but fascinating section towards the end about great Women disciples, some of whom attained stream entry (the first glimpse of the deathless) or even full Enlightenment.

Buddha’s half sister was very beautiful and very attached to it. She entered the order because most of her relatives were entering. She then tried to avoid her half Brother because she knew she had entered on false pretences, just doing the done thing. The Buddha called her and saw her shame. Instead of castigating her, he praised her virtues and then manifested a vision of an even more beautiful women than she. As she watched, the women decayed before her eyes. She got the message that she was attached to filth and folly and devoted herself to the Dhamma. She focused on the meditations of the impurity of the body, attaining unto the Jhanas or Trances. Ultimately she went beyond even that and became an Arhant.

Philosophy, especially in western academia, is a tedious display of abstractions. You’re right, it’s not what I meant.

Buddha’s attitude toward women was rather bad. Also, he was wrong when he said how long it would last if they were let in. It has already outlasted his prediction.

I wonder if it would be better for women to WGTOW. It’s so nuts for men to invent religions which exclude them and belittle them. Why participate? But women seem to be weak about going their own way.

And his attitude toward sex was horrific. As bad as the worst of puritanism. It’s a male problem. The need to create artificial disgust for women to help them maintain celibacy. In a way, I have more respect for the eastern religions. Buddhism is more of a psychological path and method and Hinduism I think has the most truth. But when we look at the nonsense in general in human belief systems, we can’t really suppose that the people of the east are magically excluded from human stupidity. And I see some very similar ideas from the east as the worst from the west. So maybe Buddha was wrong.

Like all criminals, the Dems attempt to divert all the attention onto those who caught them. Trump talking about Biden’s son is worse than what Biden’s son did? Not buying it. What, exactly, did “Biden’s son” do? Please explain. I can’t find anything but unproven accusations:

“No evidence has so far been produced to indicate that Joe Biden either acted corruptly or was influenced by his son’s work in Ukraine.

However, critics believe at the very least the Biden family’s ties to Ukraine raise the perception of a possible conflict of interest.

Cutting against these allegations is the fact that Mr Biden was not the only public official – in the US, among EU countries and in Ukraine – calling for Mr Shokin’s removal.

And as the New York Times recently noted, the Ukrainian prosecutor was not “aggressively pursuing” investigations into Burisima at the time, but was accused of using the threat of prosecution to solicit bribes from company leaders.

In addition, Mr Shokin’s replacement, Yuriy Lutsenko, continued to investigate Burisima for 10 months before ending all legal proceedings.”

        Your hypocrisy is showing.

JohnAZ – could not the same be said of your position? Trump’s Ukraine faux pas is still fresh & smelly, so the 2.5 years of ‘innuendo’ you refer to can only relate to all his previous cock-ups. This one is brand-spankin’.

Biden’s alleged wrongdoings have been examined for quite some time and NO-ONE has been able to provide any definitive proof to support the accusations.

We’ll see about Trump’s problems with this one. If it is the ‘fake news’ you all seem to believe it to be, it’ll be shown as such as soon as he releases the transcripts, which he’s said he’ll do…but then again, he was always going to release his tax returns.

JS: Then you get people like this low life. Or more likely, you already have some of them and they start messing with the education system to make people into better consumers. Patriots and Patriotism get in the way of business and buying after all. You want people to have all the wrong instincts – like Kdog – with Xenophillia as the highest ideal. With intellectuals thus disordered, the flood of cheap labor cannot never be staunched. To be fair, Kdog has his heart in the right place on many issues anent technology and the environment, as well as some social issues. But on this, the greatest issue of our day, he is always liable to “phase” into seeing the alien and native as the exactly the same, except with Whites being in the historical wrong and having to make reparations.

Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee will try again to pass his S.386 bill, which grants green cards to India’s college graduates if they take jobs from American graduates. (Emphasis ours. — ed.)

“I believe it’s ready for prime time,” Mike Lee said in a June 19 statement on the Senate floor, adding:

“It is ready to become law … I intend to be back next week making yet another attempt to pass this bill into law. And I hope and expect that we will be able to do so.”

Leon Fresco, a Democrat lawyer working with Lee to pass the bill, also declared the bill will pass the Senate:

“All objections will be solved, this is an iterative process. Senator Lee his staff are doing a tremendous job working to address the objections of every single member. #GreenCardEquality will not be stopped now. Equality of opportunity is a priority for all 100 senators.”

    (Opportunity for who?? — ed)

Fresco helped Sen. Chuck Schumer write the 2013 “Gang of Eight” amnesty bill that nearly passed — and which would have provided investors with a flood of cheap labor for at least 20 years.

    >snip<

But the federal government then imports about 1.1 million legal immigrants and refreshes a resident population of about 1.5 million white-collar visa workers — including approximately one million H-1B workers and spouses — and about 500,000 blue-collar visa workers. The government also prints more than one million work permits for new foreigners, and rarely punishes companies for employing illegal migrants.

This policy of inflating the labor supply boosts economic growth and stock values for investors. The stimulus happens because the extra labor ensures that employers do not have to compete for American workers by offering higher wages and better working conditions.

The federal policy of flooding the market with cheap, foreign, white-collar graduates and blue-collar labor shifts wealth from young employees toward older investors. It also widens wealth gaps, reduces high-tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, reduces marriage rates, and hurts children’s schools and college educations.

The cheap-labor economic strategy also pushes young Americans away from high-tech careers, and it sidelines millions of marginalized Americans, including many who are now struggling with drug addictions.

The labor policy also moves business investment and wealth from the Heartland to the coastal cities, explodes rents and housing costs, undermines suburbia, shrivels real estate values in the Midwest, and rewards investors for creating low-tech, labor-intensive workplaces.

John Weed, age 59, Chesapeake Bay crabbers and fisherman, thought he’d take his family for a fun day at the Great Frederick Fair in Maryland, wife, kids grandkids, what could go wrong? Haha! Well, ‘Community Members’ were at the Fair too, not to have fun, but for a day of Polar Bear Hunting, and poor Mr Weed apparently didn’t realize he was a Polar Bear. But he was, and after two surprise punches to the head by two brothers, age at & 16, Mr Weed, a Polar Bear, was on the ground bleeding from his ears as his family looked on. To cap off the funm while Mr Weed lay dying on the pavement, distinguished Community Members, jumping around with glee, spit big honkers on the stricken fair goer.

It was announced earlier today the esteemed Community Members, Polar Bear Hunters, would be charged as juveniles, would be charged with manslaughter not murder, and would not be charged with hate crimes. Families and friends started that the two brothers were good kids.

      https://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2019/09/24/john-weed-frederick-fair-attack-victim-family-reaction-latest/

FREDERICK, Md. (WJZ) — The family of a 59-year-old man killed after being knocked out at the Great Frederick Fair Friday evening said their lives have been forever changed by his death.

John Weed, of Mount Airy, died at a hospital a day after two brothers, ages 15 and 16, attacked him after he refused to give them a dollar, prosecutors said.

“Our lives have been changed forever do [sic] to the unprovoked vicious attack these individuals inflicted on my brother John Weed,” his sister Lori Hawkins said in a statement to WJZ Tuesday afternoon.

Hawkins went on to say her parents, daughter and two grandchildren moved to Frederick County a year ago to live together, and Weed took on a number of day-to-day caregiving tasks for the family.

“We just wanted to spend time together as a family at the fair, but due to this horrible act of unprovoked violence my brother is now dead. There is no excuse for what these individuals have done,” she wrote.

Weed’s family has also set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to cover his funeral and legal bills. As of Tuesday afternoon, that page has raised more than $9,000.

On the GoFundMe page, Weed’s family said doctors at Shock Trauma were unable to save his life due to the severity of the brain damage he suffered.

“Late Saturday afternoon with his Mother, Father and sister by his side he passed away,” the page reads.

A judge ordered the teens be held in custody until their next court date on October 22.

Prosecutors have called the attack “completely random” and said there is no evidence it was racially motivated or part of the “knock out game.”

Well that’s good. At least it wasn’t “racially motivated” or a part of the “knock out game”. (Banging head against wall).

Just your average Baltimore teenage predators. They’ll probably just serve a handful of years behind bars and then get out on parole and kill again within a few months.

news reported he was ‘injured’ there!!!!!

    • The detail that stands out to me is they asked him for a dollar.

That has happened to me twice in one day where I live. Once, being asked by two black kids under the age of 10 in a neighborhood that is historically white (seeing an increase in the black population here). They were pushing bikes and holding a basketball and asked first what I was eating, then, if they could “Have some”, when I said, “No” they asked why, which I said, “Because its mine” to which he says, “Well, then can I have a dollar?”

The other was a mixed race asian with a small yappy dog, who happens to be my neighbor. We had never met so when she asked me at the end of the encounter “For a dollar for the bus” my hand was already in my pocket without thinking. She’s seems a bit nuts but I like to know my neighbors. She’s got a suspicious eye and demeanor and I can’t fathom what may have happened to her in her life to make her that way. At any rate that was the experience.

In my town, asking strangers for a dollar is a commonplace event… for homeless people, which my town is full of. Observing them in public for extended periods of time revealed that, throughout the day, they are getting paid, for little more than sitting on the corner, looking pathetic. They are approached by passers-by who are bubbling over with compassion. I have calculated that, when they are “working” they are making $6 an hour. The population is loosely networked and they pool profits to buy fortified beer from the Korean mini-mart. When they are working (holding up their cardboard sign) they do indeed look like they are not enjoying it. Many of us don’t like our jobs, and there is some sincerity there. There may be some class solidarity there.

The dollar-dispensing do-gooders get rewarded with being able to believe in their own generosity. The bums get what they want which is to get plastered in the alley. It is a cycle.

What strikes me then is the asking for dollar seemingly percolating into a more general population- who are not homeless. Like the bums, I suspect they are doing this because it is successful. Based on my experience, they should be able to collect $6 an hour especially at a fairgrounds or a downtown area where foot traffic is high. The barrier is low; you simply have to make $1 in 10 minutes, you can ask 10 people in 10 minutes easily, and so, even a 10% success rate is likely.

I suspect the incident in question probably ended in violence because they guy made some sort of inciting statement. Like, “get a job” or some such. Well, let that be a lesson. Always shake your head and say, “Sorry.” Not “No,”, not “Get a job”, just “Sorry”, and make it the shortest interaction possible.

For some people though this is constitutionally impossible. They will always give a dollar because for them, feeling good is worth more than $1. And so the great epidemic of asking strangers for a dollar will continue.

The firm Burisma Holdings, where the son of Vice President Biden was on the board of directors, from April 2014, that is, immediately after the coup in Kiev, and received from 50 to 83 thousand dollars a month for this, was investigated not only for corruption on the board of directors, but also for their relationship with the sect of Gilles de Rais and Jeffrey Epstein, who was arrested on July 6, and on August 10, that is, about 10 days after Trump’s conversation with Zelensky, committed suicide in a prison cell.

I’ll someday write a separate post about the crimes of this company that were investigated by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office, but for now I’ll only say that after the Maidan, the official task of this company was to produce shale gas in Donbass and transport it through Ukrainian pipelines to Europe instead of Russian gas.

For this brilliant plan, the disappearance of the population living on top of the shale gas fields was necessary.

And Hunter Biden did not hesitate to say 5 years ago that this population would be treated in much the same way as the Indians were treated during the conquest of the Wild West.

But apparently, not the lesser profit the firm was getting from trade in Ukrainian children.

  58. FincaInTheMountains September 24, 2019 at 4:59 pm #

Therefore, Trump is accused of crimes committed by Joe Biden (exerting blackmail on a foreign leader), but no one is going to investigate Biden’s crimes, and Trump is already being dragged to court and it seems Dems have already passed a sentence.

And Trump responds to this verdict not only by pointing out the double standards of his accusers, but also by connecting Epstein’s case with the case that John Durham and the US Attorney General Barr are investigating.

Moreover, today they showed in every possible way that they know the name of the whistleblower, but do not want to tell it.

In particular, they claim that she is a woman and, not being a member of the intelligence community, she does not have the right to the status of a whistleblower.

But the most important thing is that Trump supporters seem to have found evidence of a conspiracy that can be brought to court, and this evidence describes the crimes committed by such figures as the dismissed FBI deputy director McCabe, are completely different articles of the criminal code.

  59. FincaInTheMountains September 24, 2019 at 5:04 pm #

Moreover, the decision on the need for impeachment was made a long time ago, but somehow there was no suitable crime and the Speaker of the Democratic Congress Nancy Pelosi strongly opposed the beginning of the impeachment procedure, realizing that the impeachment would be blocked in the Republican Senate and would not lead to the removal of Trump from the presidency.

But it will ensure his reelection for a second term, but Hillary wants impeachment not to win the election, but as a justification for the seizure of power by other methods, and this is her main antagonism with Nancy Pelosi, which will play a role in this unfolding drama.

Get you to pause or break your stride, etc. Also if you say something wrong – like get a job – then the assault is justified to in their minds. This kind of thing is important to some – but not to other more pragmatic types of muggers.

Beyond that, it’s not his fault he’s a curry ape either. Anyway, I remember him shaking his head in amazement as he told me at one point Indians (in India) were actually processing American Tax forms. A brief but real moment of sympathy for our plight. Nice fellow, bit boring and stuffy like their middle class tends to be. I think he he returned to India, in search of a better opportunity.

News flash: prisons are violent places. Further news flash: the violence often occurs across lines of racial, ethnic and religious animosity. Two big revelations here! There isn’t even any evidence that such animosity played a part. Men kept in cages will sometimes commit murder for the most pitiful motives — in this case, for the sake of a few grams of tobacco, as Eyesore McGee fails to mention. News flash number three.

I’ve always presumed that Eyesore is writing from outside prison. But maybe I’m wrong. If he did do a stint in prison, that would make him more explainable. Because clearly, the moral standards he evangelizes for are exactly those you see in a prison block. In his ideal world, the moral and ethical standards of caged felons would be enjoyed across the entire society, and in fact the entire planet.

Where is my Afterplay by Liv Heide – founder of WhiteDate.net

My German biology teacher explained to us that the act of love making included a foreplay, an actual act, and an afterplay. It sounded a little bit like an opera, or so I thought at the age of 12.

We learned that the foreplay and afterplay were more or less the “service” offered by the man to the woman. Years later I found out that these did not necessarily come as a trilogy but sometimes in a very condensed form, followed by a musical coda of snoring.

At first I was puzzled by this deviation from the official truth. Ultimately I accepted and even came to like the new protocol. It took another decade for me to wonder if these expectations implanted into women’s heads by education were likely to lead to frustration and thus to conflict between the sexes.

Modern society expects a woman to become an obedient worker to a company, leaving the last word to her clients and to her boss. The same society frowns upon her if she states that she leaves the last word to her husband because she accepts him as the leader of the household.

Yet we are not expected to see the incredible bias of a so-called “diverse society” that does not include the diversity of opinions. In this society, the teachers tell us what is official truth, and then we go out into the world and find out that in fact life is far more complex than their simple world of absolute categories and universal rules.

Women are instructed to act like men, although deep down we all know or eventually and painfully figure out that men do not fall in love with these male-imitating women, even if they may find them sexually desirable in the short term due to the ease of acquiring sexual intercourse.

In the real world, men dream of finding the other: the alter ego, the complement, the soft side, the mystery that warms their hearts and gives peace to their minds. There is clearly a bug in the system if official truth does not resemble reality at all.

We have been trained like dogs to optimize our customer service skills in order to increase the profit of a company, yet we are not expected optimize our behavior for the benefit of our relationships, our society, and our people. Our society has forgotten that having a healthy demography is a prerequisite to the survival of our civilization, and that comes long before concerns about corporate profits and political stability.

In the past, people viewed themselves as members in an extended family known as “the folk.” They did not view their society through intermediaries like the economy or politics, but as a quest for this massive organism known as the folk to survive. Business served that goal, as did leadership, and people behaved out of concern for biological reality first and human systems second.

Having abandoned that for the magic of equality, and its handmaidens democracy and consumerism, we find ourselves on the highway to racial extinction. Some of us are trying to make a radical U-turn which is not only clumsy but also dangerous. Fast turns like that make us unstable, and most of us are trying to overcome that stability in order to steer clearly in the other direction.

Instead of putting your foot down saying, “I am the man, and I snore when I want to” — this is not incorrect, but incomplete — maybe you should tackle the beast by the throat: point out that the word “afterplay,” like so many other modern words, was invented by cultural marxists to create the idea of the woman’s right to a certain sexual choreography provided by the man.

It is designed to control us and steer us away from our natural instincts into a type of automatic obedience. This kind of subtle mind manipulation has been a tool of tyrants for centuries, and allows them to divide us by making the sexes alienated to one another in the West.

Think about new verbal creations such as: macho, chauvinist, toxic masculinity, feminist, career woman, working mom. Notice the negative or positive connotations of these terms which program us with expectations of certain behavior. For several decades, they have filed masculine men in a negative context and women demanding special treatment in a positive complex.

In the current time, we see from our movies, books, television, magazines, and social scenes that women should work toward the goal of being a working mom “who has it all” except for time for herself and more than two children. Biology teachers us however that three or more children is what we need to have a healthy demographic.

Coincidence? Once you see the pattern, you cannot unsee it any more. We are in the grips of a sneaky method of mind control that was only possible thanks to an ideological alignment of the mainstream media and our education systems. All of these people are Leftists, of course, and none of them have ideal lives, but they want to tell us how we should live, which turns out to just give more power to the Left.

Now that we have awakened, we are going to take our minds back. We can then reclaim our words and through that, redefine our behavioral patterns. In future of European survival I imagine the most positive terms as to be “mother,” “father,” “family,” “folk,” and “loyalty.”

Reclaiming our identity provides a solution to the problem of social decay. We can figure out who we are, then how to be who we are, and then reprogram ourselves toward biological survival and excellence instead of the decay that modernity brings to us, starting with its ruthless destruction of the family.

In this new age, terms like “social justice warrior,” “soy-boy,” “cuckservative,” “feminist,” and, last but not least, “traitor” will designate the people who end up in a future Hall of Shame, if not in prison or perhaps on boats to third world countries where they can enjoy the type of society they wanted to force upon us.

On the other hand, the most courageous, audaciously masculine men and enchantingly feminine women amongst us have a good chance to meet eternity in our future Hall of Fame, some even as marble statues. This is our future, if we just reach out our hands and take it.

Liv Heide is the founder of WhiteDate.NET, inviting descendants of Europeans worldwide to find a traditionally minded partner online. Singles as well as couples can join the group and forum sections of the website.

      Janos,

I am truly surprised and for the first time I feel that perhaps I don’t like you. Maybe I misunderstood.

So basically, women and men have slightly different sexual needs, i.e., women need more time than men do to have a satisfying experience.

What I understood you to say is that a ma should hop on his wife like any other animal, leave her slightly aroused but without orgasm, and then start to snore.

      Is that right?

Luckily I have not run into men like you. Most men want very much for the woman to have a good time and are willing to do what she needs.

No, but it sounds good. I believe we are in reality ruled by the Corporo- Crats and Bankers. In a word, Plutocracy. But of course, they cover themselves with their bought and paid for puppets called politicians. They will bring in a weird version of consumer-communism for most, while remaining richer than Croesus themselves. Some “Capitalism” (if you want to call it that) for the upper classes – but there will be precious little competition which is “a sin” in their book.

And of course the real politics they that practice will remain largely secret a la the Bilderbergers and such as that.

  68. Janos Skorenzy September 25, 2019 at 12:49 am #

Very long article by a Gentile loving Jew proving that everything BRH believes is basically wrong. In short, the “Communists” won the war. In ever simpler terms? JFK on his Dad: My Dad, Joseph Kennedy, the smartest man I ever knew said to me, “The Jews won the War. I don’t like these people but you have to get along with them if you want to be in politics. Don’t let me or my views hold you back.” (approximate quote, form used for the sake of clarity).

JFK said that as time passed, Hitler’s greatness as a Leader would be seen, once the wartime hysteria died down. The Jews have made sure that such hysteria never died down, only fanning the flames ever higher to include all Whites everywhere. And with their dominance in the media, they were able to do just that. Academia as well: Unz notes how famous Historians like Taylor of Oxford were driven out. Ditto for giants such Barnes in America. And of course the vicious persecution of David Irving by his monied pygmy foes. Read it and weep at your own lifetime of folly and ignorance. It’s not your fault since you were lied to – but it is your fault now if you don’t remedy the situation.

Sophia, you mentioned on the last thread that you believed there was a coup around 4,000 years ago in which the process of erasing the feminine aspects of the divine nature began. Without knowing more it seems as if your suggested timeline more or less falls in line with other theories. Some say it really all started when the goddess Tiamat was killed by the god Marduk in the Enuma Elish. But most scholars seem to think there is no clear case that such a change really occurred at all. Or actually put in better words, there is no real evidence that ancient people worshipped a goddess as a monotheistic deity. Most anthroplogists seem to think that the ancients worshipped a pantheon of female and male deities that differed by culture and location. And in many of the ancient, pre-Christian European societies it would appear that the male hunter god was as important as the female fertility goddess. All in all, it sounds like most of the evidence proves the whole notion that ancient socities were primarily goddess oriented and matriarchal to be to a large extent a product of the modern imagination.

    • sophia September 26, 2019 at 12:39 am #

      SSL,

I didn’t mean to say ancient societies were matriarchal or goddess centered, just that they had both and had the gender attributes correct.

Just read the latest IPCC report on AGW. The modeled forecasts are becoming more dire, instead of 2 degrees by 2100 they are now forecasting 3.5 or more, saying it is accelerating. Okay, accept that.

They also said only a couple of countries are approaching their goals of reducing CO2 emissions with most continuing to increase.

    Why?

Because there are no economically viable alternatives!!!

AOC is right!!! The GND is required to do any type of reduction of World wide reduction. And not just in the US, everywhere.
It will never happen, as the world will lose so many people, jobs, lifestyles that it will cause massive upheavals. So AOC is right but practically wrong.

The world needs to adapt. Changes are underway and the trends must be understood to make peaceful adjustments, if possible. Changing the warm up is not going to happen. Let us start putting some effort into understanding the trends. And unfortunately, it is global so much effort must be spent stopping the takeover of the new-Liberals in the name of AGW.

For most of Earth’s geological history atmospheric CO2 has been at or greater than 1,000 ppm. This is so whether the Earth was in the midst of ice ages or in ages where tropical rainforests reached into the polar regions. Technically the modern age has occurred in the midst of a CO2 famine. It’s simply foolish IMO to believe that the Earth will end because CO2 increases to 400 or 450 ppm. Habitat destruction and pollution/trash in general seem to me to be our biggest environmental issues. Oh, and the fact that most of our big cities are literally becoming public restrooms.

Couldn’t agree with you more SoftStarLight. All this demon-ization of CO2 is totally nonsense. There are actually very well credentialed climate scientists who’ve made a pretty good argument that right now we have a dearth of CO2 compared to previous historical norms. CO2 has nothing to do with warming of the planet.

The gentleman that JHK recently interviewed, Dave Collum, is going to write a paper this fall on the subject of “catastrophic climate change”. I’m sure he’ll touch on the subject of CO2. He’s doing a lot of research currently. I look forward to it.

Did Ms.Greta mention habitat destruction, chemical pollution, or plastic pollution in the oceans at all? I don’t know because I couldn’t stomach trying to listen to her. I don’t hate the girl. I detest the adults who are using and exploiting her for their own gain. The technosphere billionaires who want to move the world toward their goal of “sustainability” through “renewable energy” and battery powered cars. They have a petitions going with I forget how many thousands of signatures. It doesn’t matter. The agenda goes forward. And lots of smart people are fooled by it.

There is something fishy about it. Because while I can bear to discuss it, most of my friends cannot bear it! They start to go apoplectic. If you cannot have your belief system examined without losing your…shale…then that is a red flag that we are not in rational territory.

Will I see it in my lifetime this nonsense blow over and/or these intelligent people I know realize their error?

        • SoftStarLight September 26, 2019 at 1:12 am #

I understand your sentiments and can relate. I think we can safely assume that Greta is the product of rigorous brainwashing and coaching. Her mother is an opera singer turned climate activist and her father is an actor and they apparently have some man in public relations guiding them. It’s sad that they would use her for this purpose but in my opinion they are willing to go as low as it takes as long as the reward is power. I’m very hopeful dissenting voices on the climate change subject are able to be heard. There is so much we don’t understand. Why shut down debate and inquiry when you don’t even know the answer?

The problem, contrary to Liberal thought , is not the destruction of the world.

It is the deconstruction of the world AS WE KNOW IT. Stability of the geo politics is a primary goal of most of the world’s government, ie the maintenance of power.

Climate change is destabilizing as primary zones of arable land, for example, are going to shift position. Huge areas of land may become able to be farmed, while others may dry up. The primary problem is the unknown, what is going to happen. This is my main point, we need to adjust and understand how to adjust.

Great wars , pestilence, starvation have been the result of much less than what may happen.

Man will not be destroyed by what is coming, but he will be changed significantly. The adaptable and wise shall inherit the earth.

BTW, the southern border is stage one of the adjustments that are coming.

Or maybe, there is no evidence whatsoever that the world is warming or that CO2 is a significant player.

        • SoftStarLight September 26, 2019 at 1:19 am #

I agree with you John. I don’t think we have actually done enough as a society to prepare. So many things could happen its very foolish for us to just worry about warming. Just think about how vulnerable our infrastructure, including the electric grid is.

      • sophia September 26, 2019 at 12:49 am #

Hear, hear. And with so many very real problems, we are instead distracted and our energies wasted on this utter crap.

If CO2 has to be at 300 ppm, why do plants start to become happy at 1200 ppm? What conditions did they evolve under?

Isn’t funny that CO2 levels have varied by a factor of 25 times, over long epochs, and then in one tiny blip of a moment, late 1800s I guess, we learned to measure it, and now we are convinced that that measurement is the only acceptable one!

How low is too low? I have read about 180 ppm is when plant start to die. At the end of the last glaciation it was getting scary close to that. Now we ought to be due for another glaciation. What if, without our addition of CO2 to the environment, we ended up in an extinction event from lack of CO2? There have been only two times in 600 million years that CO2 levels were that low.

    • BackRowHeckler September 25, 2019 at 10:49 am #

The looks of hatred on faces of his audience was clear for all to see, as he was telling them to take their globalist agenda and shuv it up their collective asses. Here was a US president who wasn’t grovelling and apologizing for his own countries’ existence. It was a beautiful thing to see.

Hey in this impeachment at least now we’ll find out how Biden’s son, along with his partners, gangster Whitey Bulger’s nephew, and John Kerry’s stepson, somehow managed to get payouts of $50,000 per week from a company they were in evolved in in the Ukraine. The vaunted Amerivan media apparently wasn’t interested.

I thought it was a good speech too from the pieces that I had an opportunity to listen to. Now I wish he would simply expel the UN from NYC and from our borders completely. We already have allies and can meet with them at any time of our choosing. Why must we be part of this Globalists cabal that is only interested in wiping us, our culture, and history off the map? As far as I am concerned too you can expel the media. It isn’t as if they are really media anyway. Most are political advocates working for orgs like the UN and ultimately for the international oligarchs who pay their bills and provide them daily scripts and monologues to hypnotize the masses.

        • SoftStarLight September 26, 2019 at 1:32 am #

I’m not really sure why some people are still tuning into mainstream anything anymore. It really is so obvious now that I think even people who normally don’t pay attention to such things can see through it. I talked to a friend of mine the other day and she can’t stand politics and doesn’t keep up beyond what she hears from friends or briefly catches on the news and she was going on and on about how sick she was of hearing them going after him and not letting him do his job. So I think most people are sick and tired of Congress and the lunacy of this obsession with getting Trump no matter what.

  73. Teflon Don is up to bat today. The transcript will be presented, the whistleblower will be pressured to reveal themselves. And the inquiry may become a continual preoccupation of Pelosi’s tenure. I can’t wait for a dissemination of the ambiguities.

Sure, as if this latest attempt to bring down the president is just a friendly baseball game. It’ll be one big Dem circle jerk in the Congress, then good luck getting any Republican Senators to vote for removing the President except Romney, whose vote will be cancelled out by Joe Manshin from W Virginia.

We’ll see. I’m sensing a shift in the wind right now though. The one hundred senators who voted that Trump should release the transcript is pretty big tell for me. There may be a reason that we don’t yet know why the GOP may have decided that they need to cut their losses and throw Trump overboard.

But of course I’m not speaking with certainty here. Just a gut feeling.

        • cc rider September 25, 2019 at 11:44 am #

Edit to Add: I just now read the released phone transcript and I have to say that I don’t see what the crime is, yet anyway. Is there another call in which Trump was supposed to have hinted that the US will withhold pledged money for Ukraine’s defense if the new President doesn’t cooperate with the “investigation of Biden’s son”. It certainly wasn’t in this transcript.

          • BackRowHeckler September 25, 2019 at 12:04 pm #

So far the only American threatening to withhold funds from Ukraine — and admitting to it in a speech to the CFR — is Vice President Biden. He was proud of it.

          • cc rider September 25, 2019 at 12:20 pm #

I’m going to go way out on a limb of speculation:

What if Pelosi, Schumer, Obama, and the DNC have decided that they have got to make Biden go away. As in now, before the primaries ramp up. So they make this big deal about going after Trump making this phone call to the new President of the Ukraine knowing full well that it will also shine light on Biden. Are you starting to follow my thought here?

It will in a sense kill two birds with one stone. First it will show the Dem Base that the leadership is willing to stick to Trump by opening up an inquiry of impeachment. Second it will expose Biden’s corruption and make him withdraw from the race so they can then get the one they really want nominated. Fill in the blank as to who that is. But they don’t want Biden for obvious reasons. Reasons as in quite a few.

And so far no one has been able to convince Biden to step aside because he’s so stubborn and full of himself. Obama did convince him not to run in 2016. So now he’s probably dug in his heels and says, “Fuck no I’m not stepping aside this time!” So, they have to “Watergate” him. Or in this case, “Ukraine gate” him. Watch and see if the media’s treatment of Biden changes here pretty soon.

          • cc rider September 25, 2019 at 1:18 pm #

Well my limb of speculation snapped and I fell. I had to really catch up on what the hell Biden was doing in trying to get that prosecutor fired in Ukraine. I found out that Obama wanted that too, so the Dems would not want to get attention on this story.

I’m just going to load up on popcorn and watch how this all plays out without concerning myself as to why and what-for. I’m so sick of everything. Phug it.

Why It’s ‘Ukraine,’ Not ‘the Ukraine’ | Time

Is it the Ukraine or Ukraine?
In 1991, Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union in the aftermath of its dissolution at the end of the Cold War. Before its independence, Ukraine was typically referred to in English as “The Ukraine”, but most sources have since moved to drop “the” from the name of Ukraine in all uses.

            ‘released phone transcript’?

Sorry, NOT a transcript at all, but a summary collated from notes.

I understand there were as many as 8 phone calls over a period of some weeks. Zelensky was trying to find out when he was going to get the military aid that Congress had voted on, but was being held up at Trump’s behest while he railed on about how much money the US was spending, relative to others. So he was ‘reviewing’ the aid grant and leaving Zelensky swinging in the wind. Then he just happened to ask for a favor, just after he’d pointed out that all this US aid was ‘unreciprocated’.

We don’t even have to read BETWEEN the lines – it’s as plain as th nose on your face. Those who say they ‘can’t see much of anything in it’ are suffering from their own special form of TDS.

      • The point of political theatre is drama. This is why I’m pleased by the ascendence of Greta to the stage. She’s a Juggernaut. Talented is too flimsy a word for this talent set.

Go ahead and call her crazy, mentally ill, insane, what have you. That’s your version of theatre. The anti environment messaging is dovetailing with an anti-future message which is a huge loser. The faith of conservatives in a hat from which endless rhetorical rabbits can be pulled will someday run as dry as a pumped out fracking well. Coherence is not too important though. Things can turn around for the Republicans but the nature of reactionary politics means you’ll have to sit out a whole lot of cycles and content yourself with playing a gadfly role. In matters close to the heart, by which I mean your gas guzzler, I fear you may be in for an unpleasant experience.

Trump had a chance to participate, as I suggested, by the Daddy Warbucks / Little Orphan Annie paradigm. I may as well be speaking in riddles, I guess. This is 5D chess. The past, present, and future in unity. Augury sold here.

        • cc rider September 25, 2019 at 11:57 am #

As for me I don’t believe Greta is mentally ill at all. My hunch is that she is a very decent person. But I do know the forces that created her sudden notoriety. Big monied forces. They are not true environmentalists either. Because their plans for the future will be quite devastating to the environment.

I feel sorry for Greta. She’s being used. One day she’ll come to see it and it will be difficult for her I believe.

Continuing the previous post: Impeachment for the Aesop Language as a Victory for Trump and a Trap for Pigs

So the Speaker of the House, controlled by Democrats, Nancy Pelosi announced the beginning of the impeachment procedure of President Trump, and the first thing that comes to my mind in this regard is that Hillary seems to have finally destroyed the bipartisan political system of the United States for good.

Now having a single voice majority in the House of Representatives, one party can impeach a president who belongs to another party.

Which makes the bipartisan system absurd and paralyzes state administration once and for all.

Hillary no longer needs to stage a coup d’etat, the failure of which will make the Democratic Party a gang of conspirators, and success a gang of war criminals and grave diggers of humanity.

The bipartisan political system of the United States is already paralyzed and either it will become one-party under the wise leadership of Donald Trump, or a third party should appear – let’s call it provisionally the “Common Sense” Party – which will be comparable in influence with the Republicans and Democrats and without whose votes none the other two parties will be able to make political hara-kiri, similar to what Nancy Pelosi did last night.

And I must say that on this subject there are two theories that explain what happened:

    1. Nancy Pelosi didn’t do it quite voluntarily, but under the pressure of party comrades like Hillary-Bastinda, the Great and Terrible. And this theory is confirmed in the speech that Nancy Pelosi rolled up, declaring impeachment to Trump.

The fact is that in a normal society, the president first commits a crime, and then lawmakers, outraged by this crime, begin the impeachment process.

In America, which passed through the skillful hands of Hillary Clinton, the opposite is true – at first some of the legislators decided to impeach President Trump, and then they began to look for a crime for which he could be impeached.

All this is somewhat unnatural, and that is why Nancy Pelosi resisted Bastinda and The Squad for so long, refusing to start the impeachment procedure.

But apparently Trump’s telephone conversation with Zelensky drove her into a trap, giving the impression that the crime had been found. But, realizing how misleading this impression is, Nancy Pelosi, unable to withstand the pressure of her party comrades, purchased a little insurance policy and from her speech it is impossible to understand why she was impeaching Trump: for trying to get compromising dirt on Biden from Zelensky or for refusing to provide Congress, having equal rights with the president, the report of the whistleblower, which I spoke about in a previous post.

And in this duality lies the possibility of many excuses if impeachment does not go the way you want. And that is why Nancy Pelosi began her speech with the anniversary of the Constitution on the 17th of September, then moved on to the second reason for impeachment, and finished with the first.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Weaoc5EZN0c

2 The second theory is that all this mess with Zelensky is a trap prepared by Trump for the Flying Monkeys, who rushed headlong into it, like a herd of pigs into the water, after demons whose name is Legion entered them.

And an hour ago, Trump slammed the door of this trap by publishing a verbatim record of his conversation with Zelensky, which is not a transcript of the electronic record of this conversation and there are completely legitimate parts of the conversation that he shouldn’t publish yet – for example, a discussion in Minsk-2 agreement, – but it will be possible to do this after the whistleblower and those who stand behind her publish their transcript.

And they, as you should have guessed already, have a complete record of this conversation, but also do not want to publish what will put them up on a stage without pants and underwear.

According to this verbatim report, Trump speaks about Biden and threatens to deprive Ukraine of help if it does not provide him with incriminating evidence, but he makes it in such an Aesopian language that no court, at least somewhat impartial, can see anything in Trump’s words, besides concern about corruption in Ukraine and regret that Biden tells how he managed to plunge into this corruption and was so stupid that he did it publicly.

Meanwhile, Biden, who dismisses Ukrainian Attorney General Shokhin thanks to the whistleblower, is already standing on the podium without pants and underwear and Republicans with undisguised gloating recall that this story was published in 2015 by Hillary Clinton, when Biden was thinking: “Should I become a rival to Hillary in the primaries.”

In general, you could forget about Biden as a rival to Trump in the elections and in the upcoming television debates, again manipulated by Hillary with rare shamelessness, despite this important circumstance, Biden will demonstrate exactly the above-described fashion and his rivals will not fail to note this.

And half an hour after the publication, Trump polished the impression made by publishing of the transcript, with video footage of Nancy Pelosi’s speech about Bill Clinton’s impeachment, in which she angrily condemns what she is doing now.
And I really hope that he will not force us to look at an elderly woman standing on the podium in the suit in which the former US vice president Joe Biden will be standing on the next TV debate.

One day, hopefully before Nov. 2020, people on this blog are going to realize that everything the Left says, everything is a lie. Not only a lie, they sit around conference tables and just make things up to besmirch the President. They also cut their own people’s throats, witness HRC vs. Sanders in 2016. They are absolutely cutthroat as can be in their quest for unlimited power.

Trump knows these creepie crawlers and know what to do with them. Just keep hitting them back, over and over, until they are defeated. Even worse are the RINOs that are being recruited by the Dems to stir the pot at the primary level. Trump is smarter than the whole bunch of them. They know it, and know that with a lot of the things that are going to settle in 2020, Trump will be unbeatable. They are trying anything to try to stop him. Good luck! I wonder how many people the Dems are going to murder between now and then?

I found it humorous this AM that all of the accusations by the Left were totally refuted and still they come on. A moderate Dem that said they would vote for the inquiry because of this allegation shut her mouth quickly when the truth came out. Pelosi made the same statement as yesterday. Neither one had read the transcript before shooting off their mouths. A real measure of how desperate the Dems and media really are.

After General Scott’s victory at Vera Cruz, thanks to Bob Lee’s brilliant use of artillery, Scott then drove hard to Mexico City along the same route taken by Cortes, only to find himself stymied half way there when the term of the enlistment contracts of half of Scott’s army ended, and they all ran away. Making the news is the fact that Liz Warren has relatives that fought and murder native Americans Felix Warren murdered nez perse Indians But the most stunning discovery about the life of O.C. Sarah Smith Crawford is that her husband, Ms. Warren’s great-great-great grandfather, was apparently a member of the Tennessee Militia who rounded up Cherokees from their family homes in the Southeastern United States and herded them into government-built stockades in what was then called Ross’s Landing (now Chattanooga), Tennessee–the point of origin for the horrific Trail of Tears, which began in January, 1837.
What was that about reparation’s there Lizzy?

Ah hah! That is freaking amazing that this is all coming out now. All of the details of the matter need to be explored. Maybe we can even start an impeachment process for her before the election is even held! You see, sometimes fanatical idealism is exactly what it takes to get the job done.

A great great grandfather of mine would leave some extra game near his steel traps when he made rounds on the Minnesota frontier to reset his traps and collect what had been caught.

This game was taken by local Indians who did not have the technology to catch small animals so easily. The locals consequently left my grandfather’s traps alone. Other men on the Minnesota frontier had their traps messed with, his were untouched. Other traps would be sprung by the Indians when they were found.

My ancestor preferred a win-win situation. He got furs, the locals got food. Sometimes when they needed the extra food badly the family story goes.

A posse forced my great great grandfather to leave his cabin and relocate to a safe town when the Indian war in the area started. In the area there was only one war. This grandfather had not planned on leaving the frontier and he claimed to have every expectation that he would have been left alone in the troubles for years afterward.

Dancing With Wolves in my family tree. For real.

Amazing what Nancy Pelosi has accomplished by announcing the impeachment inquiry. Suddenly the stonewalling by Trump has stopped.

Senate votes by UNANIMOUS consent to demand whistleblower complaint.

Phone call “transcript” is released to public.

DNI given permission to testify before congress.

Whistleblower given permission to testify before congressional intelligence committee.

Whistleblower complaint is declassified and made public.

The names of the White House witnesses/corroborators redacted in whistleblower complaint, but you can be sure the White House witnesses will be called to testify. Their testimony will look more like John Dean in Watergate than Lewandowski… because Trump has lost control of the narrative.

Trump, Guiliani, and Barr are in hot water… Biden is untouched.

All that in just 24 hours after Nancy Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry.

    • BackRowHeckler September 26, 2019 at 12:17 am #

Apparently gangster Whitey Bulger’s nephew and John Kerry’s stepson, were involved in the Biden’s $50,000 per month payout grift from Ukraine. It looks like some of the swag was spread around Boston. At one point the 3 of them, Bidens son, Kerry’s stepson, and young Whitey Bulger flew to Ukraine on the official Air Force 2. Bulger might have been brought along for muscle.

I said yesterday that the new “sustainable” and renewable energy global system that the big monied interests behind Greta will be pushing hard is even more damaging to the environment. I could sense some of you guffawing and rolling your eyes. Well here you go….

It’s the most powerful greenhouse gas known to humanity, and emissions have risen rapidly in recent years, the BBC has learned.

“Sulphur hexafluoride, or SF6, is widely used in the electrical industry to prevent short circuits and accidents.

But leaks of the little-known gas in the UK and the rest of the EU in 2017 were the equivalent of putting an extra 1.3 million cars on the road.

Levels are rising as an unintended consequence of the green energy boom.

Cheap and non-flammable, SF6 is a colourless, odourless, synthetic gas. It makes a hugely effective insulating material for medium and high-voltage electrical installations.

It is widely used across the industry, from large power stations to wind turbines to electrical sub-stations in towns and cities. It prevents electrical accidents and fires.

However, the significant downside to using the gas is that it has the highest global warming potential of any known substance. It is 23,500 times more warming than carbon dioxide (CO2).

Just one kilogram of SF6 warms the Earth to the same extent as 24 people flying London to New York return.

It also persists in the atmosphere for a long time, warming the Earth for at least 1,000 years.

So why are we using more of this powerful warming gas?
The way we make electricity around the world is changing rapidly.

Where once large coal-fired power stations brought energy to millions, the drive to combat climate change means they are now being replaced by mixed sources of power including wind, solar and gas…..”

    https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-49567197

And not to mention all of the mining for rare earth minerals that has to be done to make wind turbines, solar panels, and batteries. Mining is one of the MOST destructive things humans do to this planet. Also it will take more fossil fuels to make the steel and aluminum to make more electric cars, windmills, and solar panels. Oh, and plastic. Lots and lots of plastic.

Renewable energy is a farce. Electric cars the same.

Snacks, the only way alt energy can replace fossil fuels is if we follow thru with your plan to nuke China and Russia and any other country that insists on burning coal even after “all the science is in.”

“While a barrel’s worth of oil weighs just over 300 lbs and can be stored in a $40 tank, to store the equivalent amount of energy in the kind of battery used by the Teslar Car Company, requires several tons of batteries that cost several hundred thousand dollars. Even if engineers were able to double or quadruple battery efficacy, that would not come near to closing the performance gap between energy from wind and energy from liquid hydrocarbons for transportation.” — Mark Mills, The New Atlantic

Snacks, that’s the why electric car is and will always be a bauble for rich people.

        Brh

your plan to nuke China and Russia and any other country that insists on burning coal

That’s exactly why they are running around with this delirium of a gray gelding.

Only modern nuclear technologies, and they know that Russia is a leader in that.

        • K-Dog September 26, 2019 at 12:59 pm #

Anybody who believes closing the performance gap is relevant is still chanting the nursery rhyme of ‘better cheaper faster. It is not about substitution. It is about change. Change so great it can hardly be imagined.

Lead acid electric cars is what we need. Cars with a max speed of fifty and a range of forty miles between a charge. Minimum charge time four hours and no less than that. Forced to live within limits a world worth having would result.

Only a minimalist or a Stoic would have a clue in understanding what I am talking about. If you don’t understand do hold the criticism and your mustard too. Putting this idea out without having it jumped on in this capitalist promised land is like ordering a burger without tomato. Damn hard to do. Impossible.

K-Dog I’m a gearhead – neither a minimalist nor a Stoic. And I agree with you on this one hundred percent.

As an illustration of how it is being scaled up at a steady pace consider a Chinese city – a second- or third-tier city like Yenchang, where I spent a delightful month as the guest of a doctor in 2017. The only IC motorcycles I saw were a few police bikes, period. Everybody going to work or market or school was on a very ugly and clumsy two-wheeler than was about as elegant, engineering-wise, as lawn furniture. I mean primitive welded angle-iron design and almost no suspension.

Doesn’t matter. They were all purring along, in the thousands, up to about 40km/h. There were no daredevils threading their way through traffic in an impromptu race, such as I see here in Jakarta every day. Clean air, quiet – too quiet as you can get knocked down crossing a road if you are not used to them.

I asked about recycling and was informed a plant had been set up outside the city. Google informs me that as a matter of course 90% of all lead-acid batteries are indeed recycled.

Low-tech, cheap & ugly. But it works.

    • SoftStarLight September 26, 2019 at 10:07 am #

What a really interesting post! They say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. It does seem to be the case in many circumstances. It looks like this is one of them. Sure, we know there are many profiteers and opportunists looking simply to ride the “Green Wave” to riches and fame. But there are dedicated true believers, who, bless their hearts mean well and really believe that everything they are doing to make a green world on green energy is like a pathway to salvation and a healed Earth. Unfortunately, it seems like green energy has many downsides including increased pollution from all the components and chemicals used in making solar panels for instance. And now this.

      • JohnAZ September 26, 2019 at 10:54 am #

        The problem?

Humans are the source of the problem. Humans cannot exist as they do today without cars, plastics, cows, electricity, ships, roads, railroads, food, everything makes CO2 et al pollution. Our infrastructure poisons us and keeps us warm.

So if AOC’s plan is somehow put into place, the infrastructure goes away.

JHK made the statement in TLE that before fossil fuels the earth supported about a billion people. We now have over seven billion because of the development of infrastructure. Take away the infrastructure and???

I wonder how many of the AOC’s of the world, and a few of the folks on this blog are willing to join the six billion.

Or you could build all new homes to passivhaus standards, JohnAZ. Just as one tiny little improvement. I mean, could that be a bad thing? Maybe there’s a downside I don’t know about (other than the expense, but that will be a lot less than doing nothing), so I’m just putting it out there.

Unrealistic, GreenAlba. Not enough land; too expensive.

The plan is a reverse Pol-Pot. Force everyone into cities to be warehoused in efficient sky scrapers—totally dependent on the state for everything. A human beehive colony.

          • GreenAlba September 26, 2019 at 3:33 pm #

I wasn’t proposing it as a one-size-fits-all ‘solution’, Exscotticus/JohnAZ, merely as one solution to some people’s problem. I keep hearing that people aren’t going to be able to afford to heat/cool their homes when oil costs a fortune, so maybe the money would be better used practically to make the house less demanding than just burning it.

I can’t afford a passivhaus either. I live in a small Victorian sandstone flat and I was very envious when Nightowl told us the pittance he has to spend on heating a presumably much bigger dwelling in Germany. I’ve double-glazed my original Victorian sash windows (which will only take 4+4+4mm slimline units anyway) but there isn’t much more I can do.. My options include extra woollens, sheepskin slippers and not letting myself get soft. 🙂

If I were 20, I’d be doing everything differently. But it’s a bit like the American tourist who asked Paddy the way to Glendalough, and Paddy said ‘well if I was going to Glendalough, I wouldn’t be starting from here’.

          • GreenAlba September 26, 2019 at 3:37 pm #

There was an intriguing American poster who used to comment on environmental articles in the Graun years ago. Went by the pseudonym of Teratornis. Then he disappeared – presumably had better things to do. He worked from home and had made his place carbon neutral. He’d designed special clothing to keep himself warm, on the basis that keeping a body warm is much more energy efficient than keeping a whole house warm.

I’d love to have had a peek into his house.

          • Exscotticus September 26, 2019 at 6:01 pm #

I’d love to have such a home simply for the freedom it would afford. Once you remove HVAC, powering a home via solar and wind without any grid whatsoever becomes trivial and inexpensive.

          • GreenAlba September 27, 2019 at 9:31 am #

The upside of living in a Victorian sandstone flat is that I will never need air conditioning. It’s fantastic in summer. My friends outside Paris have had to give in this very year and get air conditioning, such are their summers becoming (despite AGW being a hoax/fraud/fantasy, cra@p etc.).

    • JohnAZ September 26, 2019 at 10:35 am #

      Chem 101

CO2 is a molecule whose bonds have a resonant frequency of the frequency of infrared, ie heat energy. It absorbs and stores heat. Another carbon molecule, CH4, has more bonds that absorb and store heat. Your SF6 has the same type of bonding but with more electro negativity which may mean more heat stored. My guess is that anything with Carbon as its central atom is a potential trap for heat.

Plastics are carbon based. Does the breakdown of plastics cause CO2 pollution in the oceans and the air, I do not know but wouldn’t be surprised. FYI carbon is the atom of life, the more life the more carbon.

Which leads us to the real problem, human overpopulation. Until this is addressed, nothing else matters, nothing else will work. Nothing anybody talks about for solutions addresses the overpopulation problem. “DO NOT tell me I cannot procreate”.

Two ways to stop the AGW, stop producing so many kids and reduce the population by attrition. Or allow Mother Nature to take care of the problem by rolling out the Four Horsemen. 96% of the world’s successful species have managed to go extinct by overpopulating. We are the smart ones, God’s attempt to have a stable species to maintain this planet.

We are very close to total failure.

A story this AM under Fox News says that income inequality is the highest in fifty years. This is probably absolutely true. This blog reverberates with folks talking about the end times approaching. The lower end of the income inequality curve are folks that the government will have to finance with welfare. Yeah, the same government that deficit spends now to the tune of an accumulation of $22 trillion in debt. A trillion a year at last count. People who blame debt as the number one problem are wrong, it is a symptom of a political system run amok.

And BTW, I wonder how many of the lower end folks are illegal immigrants and millennials with no future. Both have been created by that political system run amok.

Chris Martenson explains in his crash course that the money from quantitative easing has been a huge contribution to the growth of the income/asset gap. The debt of the rich gets bought off but the little guy is still screwed and this feedback loop has been operating for years now as quantitative easing continues to grow the finance sector. Chris even had a name for the process by which those close to the machinery of money distribution gets rich. I wish I remembered what it was.

Why are you wondering about the lower end immigrants. Wonder about these instead (EB-5 visas). Your friend Trump is all about globalization and letting the rich go wherever they want whenever they want. Why should bean pickers not have the same right I’ll say. Seriously if people who don’t work can buy their way here why can’t somebody starving to death come here. People here are climbing on my shit about this all the time, but I am not the one with skewed priorities. I agree with you,JAZ, however I think there is plenty of welfare being doled out at the upper end of the spectrum as well. I’ve never had a problem with people enjoying the fruits of their labor, however there are people who profit from influence peddling, buying favorable legislation, and all of the other unsavory activities practiced by the ruling elite. Those are the people that the Republicans are apologists for, which I can’t understand at all.

In the past, when the Democrats actually represented the blue collar workers, there was some hope that the Oligarchs could be kept at bay. However, with the vanishing of our industrial base, the blue collar middle class is swirling down the drain with nothing for our kids to hope for. It’s all there to be seen, you just have to open your eyes. There will always be some people who will do well in the blue collar world, but the opportunities that were there in the past decades, have vanished. I always knew that when the third world learned to manufacture, we were gonna be in trouble. The only thing the wealthy have allegiance to is money, and whatever keeps them in the position to make more.

When the shit hits the fan, they will move to places like New Zealand, and keep their eyes open for whatever profitable enterprises in the rest of the world present themselves.

Captain, I found it amusing (as black humor) that the Bush Crime Family has purchased a great swath of land in – of all the unlikely boltholes – Paraguay.

I can see it now: the family 757 groaning with the weight of the gold bullion (a la Batista), barely able to get off the runway and clear the trees as the Bushes head for Asunción.

Imagine the welcome they can expect from the local power-holders: “Welcome puto gringos. You tell your SS bodyguards to give us their weapons before we shoot them off them. Leave the gold behind – where you are going you will not have need of it. We will find a nice new home for it.

“You offer to pay us in your worthless Yanqui currency? Do not joke with us. We know your coloso del norte is in the mierda and there is nothing you can do to us.

“Yes, welcome to Paraguay. You will need these hats to work in the fields.”

It will be like the end of “The Day after Tomorrow” except that the Mexicans will be considerably less welcoming than in the silly movie.

Any doubts should be dispelled with a cursory glance at the Wikipedia entry on Paraguayan history – drenched in blood.

New Zealand? Four million inhabitants? Fine but what do you do when your child is dying of a rare condition and the only medication to treat it is (or was) manufactured in Frankfurt. And air travel is a distant memory.

And so on. Good luck rich assholes with your boltholes.

A green new deal that does not insist on change in lifestyles is not worth having at all. This is not an opinion but a fact. It comes right out of understanding the implications of Jevon’s paradox.

The mindset that ate the planet is not a philosophy that is going to save it. The ease at which existential issues are confused with ‘nice to have’ issues should be a hint.

JHK has said more than once, that one of the mistakes commonly made is trying to come up with alternate energy strategies that will allow us to keep living the way we do without changing anything. I don’t think that people will voluntarily give up their comfortable lifestyles, change will have to be forced upon them, more than likely generated by climate change, and eventually running out of oil.

kdog, 2 million immigrants are arriving in the USA each year; every one of them wants a car and a house in the ‘burbs like they saw on American TV sitcoms back in the old country. Like my Basque wife and her sisters, nieces etc stated when I suggested we all go camping, “We didn’t come to America to sleep on the dirty ground”. Righ now they’re all in Europe for the foreseeable future and rest assured they’re not staying in hostels.

At least that is how I felt alot of the time. And yet I feel that same consideration was not returned to me, but I am the one who is in the wrong. And really what is it that I did? I have thought over and over. I suppose I joke around too much and made an off color comment or two. When did I ever say I was perfect? Oh right, never. But it was ok to say whatever you wanted to even when you yourself knew that your words hurt me. But I remained silent. Always accepting because the other side of you was so good. So yeah, I guess I am stupid. And I never wanted to be elevated or special anyway. I just wanted to be a small part of your world. So withdraw your energy and your efforts. Chronicles of the American Civil War

The announcement by the House Speaker of the beginning of the impeachment process of Donald Trump was another gigantic step to warm up the cold civil war that has long been going on in the United States to a hot state.

There are many reasons for this, the main of which is the abuse by the Clintonoids of the US judicial system, and only the US Supreme Court thanks to Judge Kavanaugh leaves the hope that the United States will refrain from resolving conflicts in the streets instead of resolving them in courts.

Moreover, for a long time, the Democrats controlled the entire judicial system, which in fact allowed them to break into the president’s personal lawyer’s apartment in the middle of the night, torture his family in front of him and force him to testify against himself and the President, which sent his entire family into turmoil.

And before Trump’s inauguration, they sued General Flynn, who became President Trump’s first national security adviser, and Hillary Clinton in one of the interviews clearly hinted that he was paying the price for the fact that during the Republican convention that nominated Trump, he shouted “Hillary to jail!” – the cry by which the delegates of the republican convention welcomed any mention of the former secretary of state.

Naturally, after that, none of the officials dared to demand a prison for those who terrorized the Trump administration and sabotaged its work for two and a half years.

Until yesterday, when Matt Gaetz demanded that the organizers of all these investigations be imprisoned, including the investigation that Nancy Pelosi illegally initiated yesterday.

  93. Chemicals are one of the remaining industrial sectors still dominated by America. Sodium hexafluoride, like other fluorinated compounds, are ubiquitous in industrial applications. The way to control the industry is vigorous oversight. To control the poisoning of the air, water and biological lifeforms on Earth, the processing, production, use and recycling of fluoride chemistry should be regulated and enforced by a global consortium with the appropriate authority and oversight.

In regards to the replacement of fluoride in applications requiring dielectric insulating capacity, I suggest funding scientific research in alternative materials and methods.

    Sounds complicated? It’s not.

    • JohnAZ September 26, 2019 at 8:47 pm #

We can’t even get the Congress to allocate enough watch dogs to do the thousands of enforcement needs. Understaffing is rampant.

  94. The UN issues a report on the state of the world oceans.

Not good. Can we convince the world to use less energy? Maybe.

Can we convince people to stop buying Fancy Feast? Maybe.

Can we help the practice of bottom trawling In international water? Maybe.

Can we reverse the popularity of sushi by promulgating the truth of yhe massive deleterious impact on the oceans? Maybe.

Can we stop the current regimes where fish are farmed and creating point source pollution? Maybe.

Everything is ultimately contingent on the ability of an authority to project force. Good thing we have that.

Fishing vessels can be stopped by .50 caliber forward mounted machine guns on destroyer-class ships.

The Fancy feast corporation can have its charter revoked and funds frozen.

Bottom trawling creates an accessory signature uninstallable to the crew of an attack submarine.

Production of Sodium hexafluoride can be detected by NASA’s high altitude chemical sniffers.

Any land based target can be demolished by precision minions made right here in the USA.

Hotspots in the Amazon can be detected from low Earth orbit infrared detection. The earth moving machines plowing up the forest and unarmored soft targets for low flying A-10s.

Its not like any of this is impossible. And it’s not even going to go all the way to war. Imagine how quickly these folks will fall in line when a few examples are made.

    Questions!

The GND and just about everything else now will require monitoring and enforcement of regulations and laws.

Hmmm. Do we need socialism on a grand scale to enforce all the rules? How can we eliminate the bad aspects of capitalism without some sort of economic supervision?

How can we offset the effects of overpopulation without some mechanism of metering out resources?

How can we grow if the resources we depend on are shrinking in availability? And how do we keep the countries of the world from obliterating each other trying to get those resources?

Just a few questions for a Thursday.

    • Do we need socialism on a grand scale to enforce all the rules?

No, just global enforcement of regulations.

How can we eliminate the bad aspects of capitalism without some sort of economic supervision?

      Regulations.

How can we offset the effects of overpopulation without some mechanism of metering out resources?

      Regulations.

How can we grow if the resources we depend on are shrinking in availability?

Regulations are what is splitting up the E.U. and causing Brexit.

And no. 2, who gets to make up all these regulations. That is what the idiocy of government is all about.

Your argument fails at it onset.

  96. The other “gentler” way (not optional but conjunctive) is by setting high standards for the domestic economy.

Standards that preclude, for example, the allowance of aforementioned problematic chemical species into the market.

Standards that guide industry toward expected outcomes (Full 100% electrification of the economy).

We can simply prohibit the trade in fish products. That “guides” the manufacturer of Fancy Feast toward sustainable alternatives. This guidance helps consumers make better choices. And of course helps challenge marketers to sell the Catnip-laced Soy-nugget alternatives.

Via these regulation and enforcement interventions, we can save the sea and provide shovel-ready jobs for agriculture, manufacturing, retail, and advertisement.

This is just one example, and I haven’t hit my daily limit of cups of Folgers, so keep ’em coming, I have enough brain cells for everybody.

    • Exscotticus September 26, 2019 at 2:53 pm #

      >>> Via these regulation and enforcement interventions, we can save the sea

No you can’t, because you can’t force those “guiding” regulations on Asia or the Third World.

You do realize that Japan still hunts whales, yes? We can’t even stop them from doing that, let alone the 1984-style conformity Dems want to impose.

  97. Since the DOD considers climate change a national security risk, I don’t understand the problem some have with imagining EPA mandates being carried out under the direction of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

All these developments will come to pass but Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Pelosi’s Words About Impeachment In 1998 Come Back To Haunt Her. “

“Today, the Republican majority is not judging the president with fairness, but impeaching him with a vengeance,” Pelsoi said on December 18, 1998. “In the investigation of the president, fundamental principles which Americans hold dear — privacy, fairness, checks and balances — have been seriously violated. And why Because we are here today because the Republicans in the House are paralyzed with hatred of President Clinton. Green Alba,

I didn’t have a reply button available so I had to come down here.
When I said you had a belief system that isn’t proven, I meant your assumptions about evolution and history.

I wouldn’t say kind so much as practical. Blood begins to clot on the 8th day of life so Yahweh said circumcise on the 8th day. To say unclean sounds insulting but you have to put it in a way that people will respond. I have a wound on my chest that got infected. Is the wound unclean? Actually no, rather it is vulnerable to germs. As are women after childbirth.
The girl thing, I think, is because there was probably more support for having a boy child, so it gave the woman more time to bond with a girl and perhaps more time to rest so she could look forward to that. A reward for having a girl.

The bit that DOES piss me off is the proscription on intercourse until the woman is fertile. I feel he did that to maximize the birth rate because he wanted more soldiers.

    • CancelMyCard September 26, 2019 at 9:46 pm #

“The bit that DOES piss me off is the proscription on intercourse until the woman is fertile. I feel he did that to maximize the birth rate because he wanted more soldiers.”

There should be a proscription on intercourse between males and all females,

      from birth until death.

That would take care of the problem, quickly enough.

    • GreenAlba September 27, 2019 at 9:07 am #

“I wouldn’t say kind so much as practical. Blood begins to clot on the 8th day of life so Yahweh said circumcise on the 8th day. “

I was referring to menstrual blood clots. But, separately from that, you seem to be suggesting Yahweh is for male genital mutilation and that’s fine. Another quagmire, probably best left alone…

If you don’t accept evidence for evolution, there’s no point in pursuing that either. There’s a lot of it, however. Most Christians accept it, as they finally did with regard to the Earth revolving round the Sun. But people may, as always, choose to believe what they prefer and there is little to be gained from arguing about it.

Getting back to the ‘unclean’ mother, if it was about keeping her germ free (before anyone knew about germ theory), then she would have been kept away from ‘dirty’ things, rather than ‘holy’ things. The imperative seems to have been (and still is where such practices continue during menstruation and after childbirth) to keep the unclean woman/girl away from the clean family and clean (or sacred) things. Girls being made to sleep in the shed is not about concern for the girl.

“The bit that DOES piss me off is the proscription on intercourse until the woman is fertile. I feel he did that to maximize the birth rate because he wanted more soldiers.”

I don’t know how much that would apply. Female fertility is massively reduced (but not eliminated) by breastfeeding, which was pretty universal back them. It was even one of the points brought up during the first Nestlé scandal, where the company were marketing baby formula in places where (a) there wasn’t clean water and (b) breastfeeding for two years was a major contributor to birth control, which helped the poorest women and families, in the absence of affordable but more reliable methods.

If you are right, nonetheless, about ‘him’ (Moses?) wanting to maximise the number of soldiers, well, hmmm… not sure what to say!

      • GreenAlba September 27, 2019 at 9:42 am #

The foreskin might be an interesting illustration of the argument between intelligent design and evolution, but I guess not for today.

Not so much the actual design, but the question of why you’d design it in but instruct mum and dad to cut it off, and sans anaesthesia to boot. There must be more efficient ways of achieving the final look (and feel).

      • JohnAZ September 27, 2019 at 10:04 am #

The Pentateuch and its rules put out by God is aimed at two things, public and private hygiene. The separation of the human being from the ubiquitous world of microbiology the world is.

Numbers states that there were 600, 000 males eligible for duty when invading Canaan per God’s orders. That means that something like 1.5 million Jews had been created during the 40 year walk in the desert, because the original generation of the Exodus, including Moses, had died. God’s regulations had created the most powerful military machine in the Middle East of the time.

The prez is getting a crash course in civil service, for which he is wholly unsuited. He’s never been a legislator, served on a town council–heck, he’s never been on a school board. He’s about to learn how far one can get faking it before the tide goes out and everyone sees you’re naked. Next it’s about who can beat Pence in 2020.

And that is why he is the perfect choice to counter the power abuses of the Deep State.

You obviously think that the Federal government has the solutions for the nation’s problem. The media has blinded you to the fact that the Feds are the number one problem in our society.

You want Pence? He is just GGG2. And hopefully the 2024 candidate for the anti-Deep State Constitutional Party.

      BRH

      Whistleblower

What a crock. Two possibilities, one, that the whistleblower is a figment of the collective, very desperate, Democratic leadership. I think that reality is hitting the Left that their Brown push is not working and is inflaming mainstream America to back GGG. I would even bet that the whistleblower creators are the creators of the Mueller investigation. These people need to be id’ed and punished.

The second is damning to the Deep State. The whistleblower is real and is a RINO. If this is the case, you can kiss what is left of the liberal GOP goodbye. Jeff Flake, my worst vote ever, said yesterday, that he knows of 32 GOP senators that will vote to convict Trump if the vote was a secret ballot, ie they have no responsibility to their voters. Think about that statement. He is saying that these senators would vote down the people’s choice if their voters could not know who they are. What a statement of the goals of the Deep State, to disenfranchise the voters and give power to the Federal Government.

Watching these people condemn Trump for abusing power just absolutely cracks me up. Talk about the bPot calling the kettle black!
